Kaôh F***ing Rong Rewatch Ep 4
Survivor: Kaôh R?ng gets wild as Rob Cesternino and Chappell break down one of the most intense and bizarre episodes from the season on their Survivor rewatch recap. With scorching heat, relentless challenges, and a shocking medical evacuation, hosts Rob Cesternino and Chappell dig into the heart of the “Caleb medevac episode.” This recap zeroes in on how one brutal reward challenge turns into chaos, what went down back at camp, and the tribal dynamics that led to yet another member leaving the game in dramatic fashion.
The episode focuses on the infamous day when the heat gets deadly during a reward challenge, keeping everyone digging in scorching sand for what feels like forever. Players collapse from exhaustion, leading to medical emergencies for Debbie, Sydney, and ultimately, Caleb, who is airlifted out of the game. Rob and Chappell analyze why Survivor spent nearly half the episode on this challenge, the evolving attitudes about player safety, and how Jeff Probst reacts as the stakes get more dangerous by the minute. Back at camp, alliances are tested, and Alicia faces a near-unanimous ousting as her tribe all but skips the strategy scramble before Tribal Council, fast-forwarding to her inevitable torch snuff.
Key points of interest include:
– Rob Cesternino and Chappell reliving the grueling sand-digging challenge that leads to three castaways passing out from heat exhaustion
– Insights on how medical emergencies—including Caleb’s evacuation—changed the way Survivor approaches player safety
– A deep dive into Alicia’s treatment by her tribe, with both hosts questioning the edit and the real-life personal impact
– Reflection on how the episode structure highlights old Survivor versus the “new era” approach, especially regarding hard gameplay and compassionate edits
– Speculation about how a Shot in the Dark twist might have shaken up Alicia’s fate
With the pre-swap phase overtaken by dramatic medevacs and bitter tribal divides, Rob and Chappell wonder if Survivor: Kaôh R?ng’s handling of danger and bullying would ever fly in the current era. How might newer twists or better casting change these outcomes? And what really happens when the game’s physical stakes run headlong into emotional and social limits?
Tune in to hear how Rob and Chappell navigate all the highs and lows of Survivor: Kaôh R?ng’s wildest episode—will the chaos lead to new strategies, or is the season about to shift with the coming tribe swap?

[00:02:29] All right, we're back. It's day four of our Survivor Kaôh Rong rewatch. And boy, we got an interesting one to talk about. And here's the guy who gives all the listeners massive heat stroke. It's Chappell. Day one massive heat strokes. Hey, Rob.
[00:02:59] This is co-effing right. There's nothing co-wrong about this season. Yes. It's a good time. Well, this is a really interesting episode. For anybody who's just sort of like casually following along, this is the night that we had two people go home. One of them, very notably, this was the Caleb medical evacuation episode of Survivor co-wrong. One of the weirdest structured episodes in the history of the show.
[00:03:28] Really, we spend about 25 minutes of the episode on this one challenge. Then we go back to camp. We see a little bit of what's going on at the couple of the camps. We start an immunity challenge at 32 minutes into a 42-minute episode. We start a challenge, 30 minutes. Jeff tries to like, do we even need a tribal council? And then we get Alicia voted out.
[00:03:56] And ultimately, we yada yada a lot of the final hours of Alicia. But Chappelle, first off, how are you doing? Better than Caleb, right? Better than Caleb. Not hard to do, especially because Caleb gets medevaced in this episode. We do get that title card kind of in the middle where it's like, Caleb will be back for Avengers Endgame. It's like, oh my God. Wow, that's crazy. We were so happy that he made it. But at the same time, Rob, you know, it's been long enough. It's been 10 years.
[00:04:25] The man almost died for salt and pepper. Jeff pumps me his ass whooped. Yeah. So that's one of the things that really struck me when I was watching this back. And so you've been talking about this. And now the challenge is for Jeff is like, all right, want to know what you're playing for? And then I see that it's a survivor kitchen. You're going to get pots. You're going to get spices. You're going to get coffee. It's a full survivor kitchen.
[00:04:54] Second place that Jeff says that basically everything tastes better with salt and pepper. It looks like there's some oil there. But I'm like, oh, Chappelle. Chappelle is like, he undersold it because they're playing for a whole kitchen. But then the Brains Tribe does already, they win first place. They won first place by a mile. Like first they spend, everybody spent 45 minutes digging in the sand. Number one.
[00:05:22] Then the Brains Tribe goes and wins by about 10 minutes before the next bag is found. In that 10 minutes, everyone could have just looked around and said, just take the salt and pepper. It's fine. We forfeit. It's too hot out here. Jeff could have said, these guys look like they're dying because they did. They looked miserable. Jeff kept complaining about how hot it was outside. And at no point did somebody say, damn, maybe this is not worth salt and pepper. Yeah.
[00:05:50] So my theory, and I was listening to the Know It Alls before we came on. And I have to credit my 10-year-ago self for this. But I think everybody wasn't really participating. I think that most of the people in the challenge were sort of half-assing it. They're like, what are we playing for? Let the other teams win. We don't care. But everybody was all trying to not try that hard. And then it just was going on forever.
[00:06:18] And maybe the only person who might have been earnestly trying the whole time was Beast Mode Cowboy. And Alicia. And Alicia, who's kicking the sand with her feet. Why did they bury the bag so deep? I've never seen it take this long to find anything on Survivor. It would take forever. And again, immediately into the challenge, Jeff says, that sand is so hot. They haven't even made it to the dig. They're just crawling under the net.
[00:06:46] And Jeff's like, do you feel the heat coming off that sand? I was like, Jeff, you know these people are about to go into this under some extreme weather conditions. And then 20 minutes go by. 30 minutes go by. Jeff, I know you hot outside. At least call it. Just be like, all right, y'all. We ain't got to do this no more. It was wild in watching this challenge back. Like, make them stop. Like, why are we doing this? Why are we going through this? What do you gain from this?
[00:07:16] Yeah. Three people passed out. Three people passed out. We could have lost half of the entire cast in this episode. Well, I think this whole episode is a real microcosm of things you will not see in the new era. And I know we crap on the new era a lot on the podcast and on social media. I think that from this particular episode, I think that we have made progress.
[00:07:43] I don't think you would see this challenge play out in the way that you disagree. No, I agree. I just don't like I just think it's crazy that it took this. You know, it shouldn't have taken this much. You know, like, again, they know it's hot. Everyone's talking about it. Um, what do you gain from putting them through this?
[00:08:05] And then the nerve of Jeff Probst, the next time he talks to these people, he's on the mat like, okay, so y'all learned the value of hydration. Yeah. Mr. I'm gonna take the flint from you if you lose a challenge. It's like, oh, well, at least you know how it feels now to be thirsty. All right, Jeff. All right. All right. Yeah. Cool. You know, in Survivor 50, we saw like they don't want any of these challenges to last a long time.
[00:08:33] We had the challenge that Jonathan ended up winning, that Tiffany looked like that she was going to win. That challenge went five minutes. Like, all right. All right. Now everybody just stand on one leg. That's it. This challenge is taking too long. We would never do this challenge. We would have been like, okay, you guys. All right. First team to find one one bag. That's that's all we need. Yeah. Well, I think the only the only alternative to that, I would say, is the Ozzy and Coach and Q challenge that they do at the very beginning of Survivor 50 with the long stick.
[00:09:01] Ozzy's doing it for a very long time before he's able to knock that key off. And then, yeah, he wasn't. But somebody was there. Somebody was there. Somebody should be like, all right, y'all. It's been two hours. What are we doing? So, yeah, I don't know. So, I don't know, but I do think that Survivor and Jeff specifically learn a lot from these lessons they're taught in Korong. You know, like you said, we're going to lose a bunch of people in this season. The conditions are bad. And we're going to move away from a lot of the things they did in this season for sure.
[00:09:30] I also think that there's a lot of things that you wouldn't see in the new era in terms of the Alicia vote out and her whole situation. But we can talk about that separately. So, this is just so interesting to watch this play out because we know that this is like a slow motion car wreck that's going to unfold in this challenge of it's so hot. And we know ultimately in the real time that there were a lot of previews about this.
[00:09:59] They really did try to sell us that this was going to be a feature of Survivor Korong, that there's going to be, you know, big medical evacuations. Toughest season ever. It's pretty tough. It's pretty tough. You know, but I do forget in the retelling of this or what I think about it that so many people are down in this moment. I always think about Caleb, obviously. But then I forget. It's Debbie who hits the ground first. She's like, boom. She's out before they even really finish the challenge.
[00:10:26] Then Jeff's over there doing the heat stroke thing with her. Then all of a sudden over on the other side, Caleb finally finished. Mind you, Caleb, the person who passes out is the hero for the salt and pepper. He's throwing the ball until he can't move anymore, until he just falls apart. And so Jeff shoots over there and he's bringing in more people. Then Sidney goes down in the back and Jason's the only person around sitting like, I guess I'll nurse her back to health. So it was a cluster F. Yeah.
[00:10:55] And it's easy to forget that this was for reward and not an immunity challenge. We don't even see anybody enjoying the freaking reward. It's salt and pepper. What could that? Ooh, this rice tastes good. Salt and pepper. Oh my God. Yeah. Mm. Oh my God. Have you tried coconut with pepper? Like, oh, nom, nom, nom, nom. Nom, nom, nom, nom, nom. Even the tribe that wins coffee. We don't see anybody drinking coffee. Yeah. Yeah. We don't even, yeah.
[00:11:23] We don't go see the brain tribe all sitting right like, thank you, Peter. Coffee. You got to be careful. Very dehydrating. Yeah. Right. It's hot as fuck. I'm sorry. It's hot. I didn't mean that. I'm sorry. Okay. I forgot. We're not. This is a club condo. It's hot as all get out. And this man is like, here's what you need. Would you like a hot coffee? Piping hot coffee. Cold coffee. Cold coffee. Give these people water. Water. Water.
[00:11:52] Liz Markham two episodes ago was like, Jeff, Joe just doesn't understand how bad I need water. And Jeff's like, okay, here's what you're playing for. Coffee. Water. Pots, spices, and coffee. Ah, the big three. You know? The holy trinity. But what were the spices? Did they have cumin? Did they have cumin? That's a good question. That's a good question. It's like, again, what am I using these spices for?
[00:12:21] I don't think they want a fishing kit. Maybe I'm wrong. Maybe they did. I just don't understand. I just don't understand how you know it's this hot. The people have been complaining for days. And then when you have the chance to give them something, you give them coffee and salt and pepper. And then on top of that, you have the nerve to lecture them on hydration. Whose fault is it that they're dehydrated, Jeff? This is crazy. Yep. So it starts with Debbie.
[00:12:50] Debbie, they finished the challenge and that they're sitting there. And Joe Del Campo is trying to keep Debbie in the shade. Although I don't know. He's trying to like shade her. It seems like he's like standing with his body. Yeah. And yes, it was lining up in some unusual ways. It feels like the spirit of Mark Burnett is still in Jeff's ear. Like, and if somebody gives her water, I'll fire her on the spot. You know what I mean? Watching like, Jeff, I think we should help Debbie.
[00:13:19] He's like, don't you got to get the shot. He's like, Jeff, I just, I feel like we should help Debbie. I mean, Joe Del Campo is going to pass out trying to shield Debbie from the heat. You see how crazy this is? And Jeff's finally like, damn, you're right. We probably should help Debbie. And then it all just starts to domino. Yeah. It does seem like that they're way more reactive now. When I think about like in Survivor 47, when Andy is like, and I think like Brandon Cottom, like we see this a lot of times in the early challenges.
[00:13:49] And it's usually Jeff that's like calling it out earlier as opposed to then the players themselves having to tell Jeff, hey, I'm having a heat stroke. Look, he's evolved a lot. I think. And I think, again, I think these are, these are all like symptoms of what happens in Kaôh Rong because in Kaôh Rong, it does look like they notice and they're like, hey guys, we're not doing well. So, and Jeff is calling the challenge. I want to be fair to him. So maybe his eyes are focused on the people sitting around in circles in the dirt.
[00:14:17] It's like, they're still digging. We're like, Jeff behind you. He's like, and they're digging. Dig woman. Jeff, please. For the love of God. It's like, but she's digging. You got to dig. So maybe he's just distracted. I know there were spices up for reward, but it was also spicy Jeff who was calling this challenge because he is being, you know, a little, real roasty, not just the sun roasting them. Also, Jeff is kind of being hard on them about he's not happy with the performance in this challenge. Yeah.
[00:14:47] And like you said, they probably kind of tap out and they're not trying so hard anymore. But when you see people like Caleb and Sydney and Debbie passing out, you have to wonder, are they not trying hard or do they just not have it in them at this point? You know, like if Jeff's sitting there like, you guys aren't giving. And Survivor 50 said, all I want from you is everything. And we're watching Co-Rong and they gave him everything. And he's still not satisfied. He's being a jerk. He was not satisfied.
[00:15:16] And we, I feel like I've talked about this before of was Russell Swan, the Survivor player that came the closest to dying on the show? Yeah. Yeah, for sure. Like I think Russell Swan. Yeah, I think. Well, yeah, yeah, I think so. I think so. Because I think Russell Swan, when you watch the episode off, you think he might have died for a split second. You know, I think I love the story he tells. Yeah. Yeah. I love the story he tells about his wife where she's like, you're dead. You're dead. He's like, honey, I'm sitting next to you. She's like, yeah, you're a ghost.
[00:15:45] You know, so I'll give Russell Swan that. But this is like, this is number two, right? I mean, this, well, well, hold on. Is this outranking the sea crate? Because the sea crate is a fatal, like, wound. But it didn't bite him. It did bite him. I mean, it was a dry bite. Yeah, but I mean, he had a 50% chance of survival. Like, he got bit. And it's either going to be dry or he's going to die. One of the two. I don't know. I feel like I got to rank the sea crate a little bit higher.
[00:16:18] I don't know. I think that to me, this was like, they still didn't get the helicopter for now blanking on. Oh, Jake the snake. Yeah. You know, but what we do go to the ER, kind of like the in-home ER with Jake. It looked real, you know, like real serious. But it's hard to know because, like you said, they had to medevac, like, Caleb out literally on a chopper.
[00:16:46] You know, Jeff couldn't wait to be like, get the chopper. And when he said that, I said, you could have said helicopter. It's fine. But he does it. He also goes to the bird at one point. Yeah. Jeff's been dying for this moment. It's like bringing the bird, you know. But I don't know. I think it's the top three for sure. You got Russell Swan because, you know, like we saw him go like limp. Yeah. You know, just while Caleb, we saw him kind of go over to the side and he passes out, but he's breathing really hard. Like Russell Swan looked like he just like killed over it.
[00:17:16] No, respectfully. And then Jake, we're just told he was bit by the deadliest animal out here. Let's see what happens. So I know you've watched enough Grey's Anatomy that they said Caleb's blood pressure was like what? Like 147 over 99. Yeah. Is that rough? I was like, it sounded like it. I was like, okay, this seems to. I love when Survivor turns into Grey's though.
[00:17:43] Like at first I didn't really like it because I was like, okay, it makes, because it kind of makes y'all look like a little irresponsible. But 147 over 99 is stage two hypertension. And so, you know, medical attention is definitely needed. Okay. And Caleb, from what I have always heard, I think they were really worried here on Caleb. Yeah. I mean, hypertension is nothing to joke about, you know.
[00:18:11] But I think that, and also they're watching him. Like, it's like he's going through this, but you have to be able to regulate him and they can't do it because it's so effing hot. And Jeff, the producer that he is and the host that he is, he's walking us through these processes. When he's with Debbie, he's like, so, um, nurse, is it nurse Joe? Dr. Joe? He's a Dr. Joe. Um, so what are you doing exactly? He's like, I'm trying to cool her off. Jeff says, so you're pouring cold water on her to cool her off. He's like, yeah, yes.
[00:18:40] Yes, I am. You know, but I think we got used to this because I think this is the first time that we really get this. You know, we'll have, like, different times where the doctor has come out and it's like, okay, what's going on with James's finger? Like, Jeff has talked to the doctor before. But we've never really pulled back the camera on the entire Survivor production. I think that this is the first time we see we really break the fourth wall in that way. And we'll do that much more into the new era.
[00:19:10] They did it a lot in particular in season 41. But I think that we will do this more and more now. And we never did it before this moment. I like it, though. I do. I think that, you know, in the olden days of Survivor, pre-U playing, you know, Survivor was like, oh, we were under, like, this illusion that they were marooned, right? Like, I think there was just kind of like this, like, yeah, I saw them all get off the back of these Jeeps and stuff. But, you know, we know this is a TV show.
[00:19:39] But at the same time, we're going to suspend our disbelief and just kind of live in a world where they're out here by themselves. And in a lot of ways, Survivor was taking some risks, making them sleep outside where they're like, lions will come and attack you if you don't let the fire go out. That's crazy. But, you know, with Mike Scoopin falling in the fire, I think that would have been a really good moment to kind of break the fourth wall and be like, no, no, no, this is real. Because back then, people used to say, is this on the soundstage? I'd have to go back and watch how they presented that in terms of, like, did they show a lot of production people in that? I look like they showed the chopper, right?
[00:20:08] They did show the chopper, for sure. Yeah. But I don't know if you felt like that Mike Scoopin was going to die. I don't know if you felt like his life was in danger. Which is really bad because he did fall in fire. So his life was in danger, right? So, like, I really feel like when things like this happen, I like for Survivor to lean into the gravity of it. Because people should know what they're signing up for. And you should also know that what these people are doing, yourself included, is very commendable and brave. Yeah.
[00:20:35] So I thought that Jeff does a good job of handling the emergency once it breaks. Now, maybe he pushed them very far into this emergency situation. But then once the emergency is coming out, he's really, he's, you know, the adult in the room. He's directing traffic. The problem is we don't have enough medical people for three different people to be having heat stroke at the same time on this beach.
[00:21:02] After it's over, though, I did feel like that some of Jeff's commentary was, I had to give me an audible chuckle and some pause. He comes to then, so Caleb has gone. He's taken away in the chopper.
[00:21:23] And he goes to talk to Michelle and Anna and Nick and Julia and Ty and tell them about what's happening. And he says to them, all right, good news. Debbie and Sydney are going to be fine. They're back. But Caleb's out of the game. How is that good news? It's like, yeah, it's good news. Good news. Great news. The other two, your two competitors on the other tribe, they're fine. But your tribe lost its strongest competitor.
[00:21:53] Good luck. Yeah. And then they're asking him, like, but he's gone. He can't come back. They said, yeah, they took him off in that bird. That's it. Yeah, they did. He's done. They took him off. He called him the bird. In the bird. Yeah. You know, we talked about Caleb's exit here and how Caleb is not that big of a character in this season. But I do think by way of Ty, he is a bigger character because Ty is the main character of the season so far. No matter how you try to slice it, he's probably got the most confessionals.
[00:22:23] He is the most beloved character, I think, through these four episodes. And Ty's whole thing is me and Caleb. Me and Caleb. Me and Caleb, right? When Caleb gets to evacuate, he's like, oh, yeah, we used to cuddle. And he sacrificed himself for me. And I think that, again, the way you get mad at that can really change the way people look at you or at least color the way you're looked at. Because he goes out. This is a hero's exit for Caleb.
[00:22:49] But should this tribe have been looking at Ty in the same way that, going back to Russell Swan, we talk about Philippines a lot. Should they have been looking in the same way that Russell Swan's tribe looked at Malcolm with Angie? Does Ty just have, like, the booty blinders on? Even Caleb has just been medically evacuated. And all Ty is talking about in the confessional is like, and I still didn't get that kiss from him. A little thirsty.
[00:23:19] A little thirsty. Not the only one. Yeah. Look, everybody's thirsty out here. It's a thirsty season. Yeah. Yeah. It's the beauty tribe where they're not supposed to look at each other. Yeah. Look, I think that they would have been smart to try to separate the two of them. But look, they don't have to separate the two of them because now they're separated. And the numbers are a little lopsided now on the brand on the beauty tribe. But it's a good split because the girls are like, okay, we're all going to work together. That's cool.
[00:23:48] But they want to target Nick. And they already wanted to bring in Ty anyway. And so here we go. It looks like somehow Ty has lost his number one ally, but he gained three. And it is wild. They're going to bring them both back in the other season. And we know from the card that he's going to come back. Does it help Beastmo Cowboy at all that Ty is going to be brought back for? Is there any chicken in the egg? Mark the chicken or the egg? In terms of like they're bringing Ty back. Like, oh, what if we brought Caleb back too?
[00:24:16] I think that's the only reason they bring Caleb back is because of Ty. I think without Ty, you might get Caleb one day. I don't think you get him in game changers. You know, yeah. I think you bring him back with Ty because they're kind of like the odd couple here. You want to see the reunite. That's basically what you want to see, right? You want to see them reunite. You want to see if they still have that same love for each other. And then potentially maybe Ty can even get his kiss. He does not. And then he betrays Caleb. Is that how game changers work?
[00:24:46] I really don't ever revisit that season. That's why. That would have been fun to rewatch it. Not during Pride Month. Sorry. We could have, we listened. We could have like, we could have had Zeke on. We could have had all, like, we could have. You want Zeke to talk about game changers? Maybe. I've seen him at a bunch of Survivor stuff recently. You say, Zeke, tell us about this scene when Jeff Varner outed you. Yeah. Tell your story, Zeke. Yeah. Tell your story. Your story. Drag him. We could have Zeke on.
[00:25:17] Yeah. Let's have Zeke come on and talk about, talk about this season. That'll be fun. Zeke, come on and talk about any season. Zeke, does Zeke's, you said you saw Zeke. And I, and I believe because I saw pictures of Zeke as well. Is Zeke back in the Survivor community? Because it felt like he had just kind of, no. He was at the live show in Brea that we did. Sorry, not Brea. What? Not Brea. I'm sorry, I misspoke. The live show we just did in Glendale. Oh, okay.
[00:25:44] And then he also was at the Survivor 50 finale. Okay. Yeah. I saw him at the Survivor 50 finale. But prior to this year, I don't think I've heard, I mean, Zeke hasn't been on the podcast in a while. I don't think, I thought Zeke would remove himself from the community. And so I'm very happy to hear Zeke's opinion about the new era. Because I think Zeke is, Zeke's like a new era player in an old era player's body. You know? So, yeah, Zeke is, and I mean, this isn't about Zeke, but Zeke is just like such an aggressive Survivor player.
[00:26:14] He takes the big moves. He makes the big swings. He deals with the consequences afterwards. I think the new era would have suited him well. I wonder what he thinks about it. Zeke is new era coded. He is. I think so. Yeah. I think he would have done well on 50 if they called him. I don't know if they called him. I don't think so. Do you think they called Caleb? Hmm. Hmm. Well, I think Zeke had talked about how he, that the Survivor account, social media account had blocked him at one point.
[00:26:43] Shit. You know, it's bad when Jeff's like, tell the social media we're done with him. But, did they call Caleb? I doubt they called Caleb for season 50. Did they call Ty? Hmm. And do you think, one furthermore, do you think Ty is up? I think Game Changers took a lot of people out. I think they were just like, yeah. I was going to say the same thing. I think Game Changers eliminated a lot of people from contention. I mean, don't get me wrong.
[00:27:08] Sari, Aubrey, and Ozzy all being on that same season together, it probably does eliminate a lot of the people who could have come back too. Yeah. I'm trying to think if there's anybody else that has made it back since then. And I think that they, I think Andrea said that they did call her for 50. Yeah. Yeah. Andrea would have been good. Andrea would have been good. But you don't, but you don't want four people from the same season on. So you would have had to kick off Aubrey. That's what happened with a color wrong form. Who wins.
[00:27:38] Right. You'd have to kick off Sari, which is impossible. You have to kick off Ozzy, which in retrospect, I don't know. And so, yeah. Interesting to think about. Yeah. I think Ozzy makes a bigger impact in season 50 than it does in Game Changers. Yeah. But I don't know if Ozzy would take it back. You know, like for the way Ozzy leaves, the question is like, is it worth the journey? Does Ozzy have, what's Ozzy's best moment in Game Changers? No.
[00:28:08] I don't think he has one memorable moment. Yeah. No, no, no. He doesn't. But again, would you rather go out as like not memorable in Game Changers or memorable in 50 for the reason that you and I just haven't said out loud? I think it really cemented his. I think it was not an ideal final spot, but I think it was a good final chapter for Ozzy. Okay. I'll flip this on you then. You had a great showing in the Amazon.
[00:28:37] Not so great showing in All Stars. And we talked about your ideal scenarios coming out of 50, you know, on the stretcher, which he did it. He knew he was invincible. I didn't even get my kiss. That said, would you rather have gone out like Ozzy? An idol in your pocket, blindsided with saying to the camera, I know I should play this tonight. Then what? What's your alternative? I had a dream I should play this tonight. Nothing. Going out with your current legacy.
[00:29:06] My medical evacuation or... Your legacy as it stands today, Rob. Just, I'd come back and like, I think people would get a kick out of it. I don't know. I think for you, it's fine because you have never gotten voted out with an idol before. And for Ozzy... Something new. Ozzy's been voted out with an idol twice? Yeah, I think maybe like two and a half times. If you count South Pacific. Yeah. If you count South Pacific. It's kind of his thing. It's kind of his thing. One of his things. That's all I'm saying. It's one of his things. Okay.
[00:29:36] Anything else on the wild challenge and the heat exhaustion? It's just crazy to me that this happens and then guess what they still have to do? And immunity challenge. Oh! So y'all all good to go, huh? Back at it. Back in the sand. Yeah. Was there a day in between all this? You need to lose track of the... We had this whole thing happen and this has got to be... I have the wiki open.
[00:30:05] And then there must have been a whole day off in between. So this was day eight. Honestly, like... No, I'm sorry. This is day nine. And then we... I don't think we see one second of day ten. And then it's day eleven. Okay. Well, at least I gave them a day off. Because it does not look like it. It looks like... All right. One medevac to the next. You know? But no. I think if you're right, they gave them a day off. Which is very, very wise.
[00:30:32] And then they gave them a challenge that didn't involve the heat as much. It seems like it wasn't in the sand. And on top of that, it does feel like it was done maybe in the evening. Because when we leave that challenge, we'll talk about it. But we just kind of get a fast forward, a yada yada to tribal council. Mm-hmm. Yep. All right. Well... There's no camp life between... You know, probably for editing purposes as well. But, you know, whatever. It just feels like maybe they made some changes overnight.

I didn't think the pain from the shingles rash would affect simple everyday tasks like bathing, getting dressed, or even walking around. I was wrong. Though not everyone at risk will develop it, 99% of people over the age of 50 already have the virus that causes shingles. And it could reactivate at any time.
[00:34:41] I developed it and the blistering rash lasted for weeks. Don't learn the hard way like I did. Talk to your doctor or pharmacist today. Sponsored by GSK. Yeah, let's talk about then the other half of this episode or other third of this episode where we still are going to do an immunity challenge. We still are going to then vote out Alicia. And so we have a obstacle course where we're running through the jungle. We're looking for puzzle pieces.
[00:35:10] We're diving into the water. And then it comes down to a puzzle at the end of it. And I really got the sense that this was not necessarily a throw, but it was like, we're going to just let Alicia do the puzzle. Yeah, they were sick of her shit. I mean, I don't have any other way of putting it. Their woman, you know, it's the whole this person I don't like can do no, you know, they can do no right by me.
[00:35:38] It's the whole bitch eating crackers type situation, no matter what she does. There's a moment where I think it's in the first episode. They say, Alicia, don't tell us what you're not good at. Just tell us what you, you know, just have a positive mindset. And in this episode, she's rooting everybody on as they're digging through the sand. And Scott Pollard says, there you go. Being a cheerleader. It's the only thing you can do anyway. And she's like, what? And then later on, he flips it like, no, no, seriously. I was being positive because I was saying that like, we need cheerleaders. Yeah, exactly.
[00:36:09] So by the time they get to this challenge, they've already decided they're going to vote her out. They don't care if they lose. They know that they're probably going to swap at some point. There's three people left on the tribe. Are they really going to make it be like three versus everybody? Probably not. And so they're like, listen, even if that's the case for Scott, well, for Kyle Jason, he's probably fine. Because he knows even if they got to vote out one more person, it's not going to be him. Yeah. He's not sweating it at all.
[00:36:35] But they talk about she really gets under Scott's skin that she talks about that she knows what it's like to be on a team. And that it's the same for being on like the teams that she's been on and he's been on. He's an NBA champion. Okay. What do you know, Alicia? What do you know? Yeah. He said, oh, well, you're trying to compare these things the same thing. And I competed with the best in the world. Who are you?
[00:37:05] I was like, okay, Scott. Like at this point, I'm like, vote her out because I'm tired of seeing the way he talks to her. And not to say that she's not talking to him crazy too, but it's just annoying, right? It's very petulant between the two of them. Vote one of them out. I don't care which one. Yeah. We heard from Jeff at the tribal council. He's like, well, Alicia, the reason why you're on the Braun tribe is because that you don't take any crap from anybody. That's really bad.
[00:37:30] That's really bad casting or at least a tribe placement, because if we're the Braun tribe and you are tiny and just a mouthy, but also not brawny when it's time for us to cut, you know, the not bronze from the Braun mix, you're going to have a target on your back. So she was already probably looked at. She's like a sore thumb, right? When they're all sitting around, like, what do you do? Oh, I'm a bounty hunter. Oh, what do you do? I'm a Olympic, like what bodybuilder or whatever. What do you do? Oh, NBA champion. Oh, what about you?
[00:38:00] I got, you know, I don't take no miss. Oh, really? Yeah. I take no guff. I got some strong words for you. They're like, oh, okay. And in hindsight, it may have not been the best idea to put her with these people also, considering that she is going to, you know, not take any crap from people. But these are the people that give the most crap. And it's just that she's outnumbered.
[00:38:30] In that sense, I agree with production, though. Because you want the people who are going, you want them to fight, right? Yeah. You want them to fight. Anyway, because these Survivor producers and their psychologists and all these other people, they all talk to these people and they figure out how they would be on the tribe. They got to make the puzzle fit. They're always trying to make the puzzle fit for the cast. And they will find ways of putting people on the cast that are just oil and water. Let me take you back to Survivor 47. Oh, like the reward.
[00:39:00] Not, no, no, that's salt and pepper. I think that like in Survivor 47, my dear friend Asia was cast on a season of Survivor. And we said, Asia's going to do great. Asia gets along with everybody. And the Survivor producers said, hold my beer. Let me find you the one person in the world that Asia can't get along with. And we saw what happened. Now, had Asia been on another tribe, she probably does way better. But you also don't get into fighting.
[00:39:26] And so Survivor is able to kind of put these people together and say like, hmm, if we put Alicia with Michelle, how's this going to go? It'll probably be fine. Michelle can get along with anybody. If you put Alicia with Scott Pollard, you get this. Yeah. This was not great TV. No. No. But also, I mean, what were you going to show the Brains tribe over there not talking to each other? I mean, you know, like in order to be a tribe just being beautiful. This is the only conflict of the season once Liz Markham goes.
[00:39:55] So there's going to be worse. There's more conflict to come in this season. It's coming. Yeah. It's coming. I'm saying once Liz Markham goes, like we have a void of content. And it's really the Brawn that are giving us what the content is. Yeah. So I think that also in the new era, I think we're also going to do a lot of things different. First of all, we're not going to have any Scots and Jasons in the new era. We do have a Jason, but he wasn't like this at all. Hmm. And I can't, I don't know why I don't like that.
[00:40:26] Yeah. Because I've had no real issue with the casting, but I'm trying to figure out, like, did we move so far away from Scots and Jason that we can't ever get it back? Or are there people that are on the fringes? Like, does Rome not count? I think Rome is not quite as, like, I don't think that Rome is trying to be a bastard in the way that these two guys are. And the problem was that they were together.
[00:40:55] You know, even if they were on separate tribes, I think it's a different makeup. But I think they're bringing out the worst in each other. And so, and then they have each other's back. And so the, each of them is allowed to sort of exhibit worse and worse behavior because they both are together and they're both able to back each other up. So I think honestly, either of these guys in a vacuum, if it was just them, I think would be fine.
[00:41:21] I think even now, I think you could have either of them back solo. I think that having them together in a small tribe, in a six person tribe, and they're two of the six, like, this was a tough spot to put anybody else in. Yeah, I'm trying to, I'm trying to even think, because now, like, every time we talk about this, I'm always, like, going to my mind, like, there's got to be other villains in Survivor history since, since, you know, this group. And it's really hard to place it because, like you said, they're moving away from villains.
[00:41:50] I'm like, is there anybody villain adjacent? What about, I think you mentioned Brandon Cotton. What about him? Do you think the vibe he had on his tribe, him beefing with Maddie Pomila, was that a villainous or was it just a... I don't think so. Because I feel like those are two battering rams. Maddie is not to be trifled with neither is Brandon. Yeah, Maddie might be a little bit more like an Alicia not going to take any crap from anybody. And, but I don't think that Brandon is a mean guy in any way. I don't think so either. Yeah.
[00:42:18] No, I don't think, yeah, I don't think, yeah, I think maybe that's the word I'm looking for. They don't cast mean people anymore. Because you can be a villain without being mean. Who's the meanest person in the new era? Meanest person. Oh, Omer. Easily. Omer. Yeah, that's true. You want to talk about bastards. Trying to think. Is there anybody that's mean in the new era? Mean. Hmm. Not mean. You know, cutting.
[00:42:45] You know, I think that, you know, as much as I love say, she'll let you have it. You know? She can be mean. She'll let you. She can be mean. She can go there. She can go there. Dang. But it's few and far between. I don't know. Brandon Donlan. That guy. Yeah. He's famously. Yeah. Bastard. And then also, I think that having the shot in the dark helps this situation as well. Please. Can we talk about the shot in the dark?
[00:43:13] I rarely do I ever care about the shot in the dark. I just don't care about it. But this this is proof of concept. This episode, we basically decide at the tribal at the challenge. All right. We're voting on Alicia. We don't even got to go to tribal council. Jeff, let's just vote around now. Jeff says, I'm down with that. Jeff said he wanted to. He was like, OK, yeah, let's like I think Jeff was like, oh, it's a survivor for even though they voted out Brandon. Brandon. Brandon Hance.
[00:43:42] Too many Brandons in the last three minutes of this podcast. Donlan and Coddham and yeah, and Hance. Yeah. But yeah, this this moment is would be pretty much unprecedented. You know, Brandon. Brandon Hance is voted out for very different reasons. Yeah. This is just like, yeah, it's over. We're all going to vote her out. Let's just do it right now. Now, and Jeff's like, OK, Alicia, I'm down. If you're down, she says no. And he goes, OK, well, let's. OK, fine. She's like, because I'm not going to get up.
[00:44:10] And then fast forward to tribal council. We don't get her back at the camp. No. Like scrambling. We don't get her trying. It's just like the quickest. I'm not going to give up. Walks in with the torch. So I gave up. You know, it's like there's nothing to do there. And I thought, wow, wouldn't this be more interesting if she had a shot in the dark? Because at least they'd have to be able to roll the dice. She probably would have already played it from one of these votes.
[00:44:38] I think maybe at least on the Jennifer Lanzetti vote. I think she probably would have played it. Although I think it would have been a 2-2 if she had to play it then. But yeah. Do you think that Jeff is so tapped in as the producer? He's like, oh my God, this Caleb thing. This is going to be like 25 minutes of the episode. We got to make up some time somewhere. Do you think he's like, he's that much of like episode four is going to be. How are we going to get this all in? What if we just say, let's just yada yada this tribal council?
[00:45:06] He never thinks about yada yadaing the challenges. That's the part that really drives me crazy. It's like, he's like, man, we got to spend 40 minutes on this challenge. No, you don't. No, you don't. Spend 20 minutes on the challenge, please. In the new era, for the love of God, spend four minutes on the challenge. Okay. Stand up there. Give us a time elapse. Get some quick quotes and move on. But in this moment, yeah, I think he knows the Caleb thing is going to be a big deal. We already know we're going to vote out Alicia. There's nothing she can do. We know they have the idol.
[00:45:37] She has no other allies. Sydney's not even pretending at this point. Like, hey girl, it's over. It's you, baby. Leave me alone. And so it's like, yeah, what is all this fanfare for? Unless you're going to give her an opportunity to save herself. They, you know, they used to say that there's always something you can do and there's nothing she can do. There's literally nothing she can do. It's done. It's done at this point. Let's wrap it up. Yeah. Yeah. And I think she even knows there's going to be a tribe swap the next day and she just can't get there. She just needs to get there. And so this is perfect timing for a shot in the dark.
[00:46:06] I think it would have been great because what had she, what if they actually did have to consider, okay, she might play her shot in the dark. Does this mean Kyle Jason is like, all right, I'm going to put my vote on Sydney now? You know, like what are we doing here with a vote with three people with a vote in her immune? And so I would love to see what that looks like. We might've lost Sydney, which is not great, but maybe the shot in the dark incentivize Sydney to flip. And she's like, all right, I'm not doing that. Maybe I want to vote for somebody else. Who knows? Yeah. So if she hits the shot in the dark, then it's zero.
[00:46:36] I don't even know if you need to do anything because it's like, unless somebody is like really slick. And I don't think that you have that person in this group where, okay, she hits the shot and they all vote for Alicia. She goes up, she plays the shot in the dark. She doesn't cast a vote. And now it's like, okay, no votes. Now we're going to revote. You can't vote for Alicia. Is like, I don't think that Scott is thinking again, how could he be thinking about so that it hasn't been invented yet?
[00:47:02] But I think that Jason is a little bit like, okay, well, I know Sydney is with me. He's like the deciding vote of like, Scott's going to vote for Sydney. Sydney's going to vote for Scott. And I think that Jason's casting the deciding vote there. So does it make Sydney say, okay, Alicia, don't play your shot in the dark. Me and you are just going to vote for one of them. And then, you know, they're like, yeah, what are we doing here? Sydney is up to date on the, on the shot in the dark rules, which haven't been invented yet.
[00:47:31] So it's an interesting discussion, but she probably plays it at the Jennifer vote. And Sydney probably goes here if they're, if, if Alicia's not, uh, if Alicia's immune, Sydney goes here. I don't think Jason and Scott are turning on each other for Sydney. I think Sydney's a good ally to have, but it looked, it very much looks like they're two peas in a pod. Jason might have to play his idol. Oh yeah. I forgot he had that. Oh, so you see, this could have been interesting. He's not playing his idol before the shot in the dark with three people left.
[00:47:59] I mean, I'm just saying if they went to another tribal council, maybe. Yeah, for sure. Um, I wanted to also bring up with them, um, that they were on her ass so much. And she, at the end of the challenge, she's like, well, you know, uh, I think she said, well, I tried. And even Sydney is like on her. I was like, ah, you tried. Uh, how about we try? Okay. And she's, she's like, oh my God.
[00:48:29] I wasn't saying you didn't try. I said, I tried. And, and Rob, to be fair, you just, you already said it. They did put her on the puzzle for her to fail. So she's like, I gave it my all. What do you want from me? At least like, at least I didn't just go sit down in the sand and watch y'all beat me. And then I don't know if they cut it out where she said it and we didn't make it or Jason's misquoting her, but then he's like, Jeff, you see, this is what she does. She said it again. I, I did my best. It's always about me. It's always, I did this.
[00:48:58] I did this. Everything has to be about her. Yeah. Yeah. It's, it's, it's, he's fed up. He's fed up. There's nothing, there's nothing else. You know, again, she could, she could blink wrong and he'd be like, oh, here he goes. There she is breathing loud. Oh my God. And it has to suck. Look, and I'm saying for both sides. Embrace the suck, Jason. Embrace the suck. You know, Alicia is obviously not the easiest person to live with and they are obviously
[00:49:25] reacting to that, but they also don't seem like they're the easiest person, people to live with either. So both sides, I would just, I would not do this. This is why I always say I would never play this game because I don't, I don't do this. I don't laugh. Scott votes for Alicia. We talked about, he voted for Alicia last time. So funny. This time he votes for Ali, A-L-E-E, Sia. He loves wordplay.
[00:49:54] I still want to know what Alicia means. Is he calling this lady a drunker? Yes and no. I think he liked this one. I get the Sia. Yeah. I get the Sia. That one, that one makes sense. I get it. Alicia. Yeah. Alicia is crazy. Stressed your vacation rental is catfishing you. Not on Vrbo. Vrbo's Loved by Guests badge highlights top rated properties guests truly love.

We said in the last episode that we really wanted to know what was going to be going on when we got back to the Brains tribe. And we saw where Peter was very just beside himself. But Debbie came to him and said, see, I wouldn't let them get rid of you. I needed you. I had your back, baby. I had your back, baby. You know old Debbie got you?
[00:51:46] She pulled a Ceree. I remember in season 50, Jonathan comes over to Ceree like, hey, I heard they're coming. She's like, I wouldn't let you do that. You know, I ain't going to let that happen. You know, we can't. It's me and you, baby. Debbie playing the game. I will say this. I love the Brains tribe so much. I think they're so good. They're really good. All of them. No misses. Even Joe. He's cooking. Yeah. Watch out when Joe's cooking. They do get a kitchen set. They did. This could be bad for them in the future.
[00:52:17] Yeah. Yeah. Debbie's telling us a confessional. She's like, you know, I'm the mastermind. I mean, she is. She gets the credit. She got the fishy for that one. And I love this. Oh, I don't know who Steve gave the fishy to in this episode. Oh, in this episode? Oh my God. Debbie is the mastermind of Okorong. He might have gave the fishy to the heat. Or he might have gave the fishy to, you know, this was when Steven was doing wild shit. He might have gave the fishing to the medical staff. Yeah. Dr. Joe.
[00:52:46] Or, you know, Dr. Joe. But yeah, I love Peter. I love Peter so much. When he gets back to Trump, he goes, well, that was something. No kidding, man. And he's like, I'm so shocked. I cannot believe this happened. Blah, blah. I was like, hey, man. You. How? How? How? And I really want to get him and Liz Markham in a room together. And he's like, okay, now let's talk this out. Because she says, y'all discussed that this was a very real possibility. And you were acting like somebody just came and knocked you over the head with something. And then he goes on to be a whiny baby about it.
[00:53:15] And in the best way, again, love this character so much. He's like, now we don't have a strong physical tribe or a strategic tribe that will then go on to win the next two challenges in a row. Yeah. He then ends his talking to the camera. He's like, I need a beer. I need a beer. And he's like, lays out. He's such a baby. Like, pray for the merch. This is it. We're over. It's over. It's like, Peter, come on. That wasn't even the Randy.
[00:53:42] You know, I was thinking of the Randy line when he says to coach, like, I see you at Loser Lodge. I'll buy you a beer. Buy you a beer. Yeah, I'll buy you a beer. No, this is pray for the merch territory. This is like, oh my God, we lost. Yep. Y'all voted out Boston Rob. Now we're all sad. We're going to lose everything. That's how you feel. Liz Markham's gone. Now we're not physically strong and we're not strategically strong. And now pray for the merch. They won the next two challenges in a row. Yep. Okay.
[00:54:10] We also got then more Debbie content. We're going to actually a very, somehow we found time in this episode that like a very sweet moment of Debbie after the challenge, we checked in with Debbie after that she was having the heat stroke. And she talked about how she didn't want people to see her week. And she really, she didn't want her daughter at home to see her in this compromised position.
[00:54:38] This was a very cool moment for Debbie. And then Debbie goes on to remind us that she is in the coach family of our characters because she straight lies. She said, you know what? Saving my life like that on the beach. It's inside and out of the game. Got a friend for life. Then why didn't you vote for Aubrey? Where was Michelle? Where was Michelle when you passed out? Why you didn't vote for Aubrey? Debbie, why you didn't vote for Aubrey? What happened? You forgot that quick? That she was thanking Aubrey for that. I didn't catch that.
[00:55:08] She was on the beach with Joe and Aubrey. And she's like, you know what? After what we went through today. Oh, friends for life. Friends for life. Me and you outside this game. In and out the game, she says. Oh, in the game? Really? Yeah. Okay, cool. Bet. So when it came time for you to vote for your friend, what happened? What happened? Matter of fact, did that carry over into game changers? Do you think Debbie has given Aubrey a call since winning tomorrow? We went through the whole thing the other day. No, I don't think so. Exactly. So somebody run this tape back to Debbie. Debra, listen. Hey, check on your friend.
[00:55:38] She had your back when you was about to die. Remember that? Yeah. Well, maybe Debbie feels like, well, I had her back when she needed some water and fruit. She says, even Stevens. Yeah, we're even. Yeah, we're even. We're even. My life debt has been repaid. Yeah. Well, then you voted her out. Well, then she voted you out. So I guess you still owed her one. So you didn't vote for her. So I think I have to run the. I might actually have to watch game changers to find out how this saga ends. All right.
[00:56:06] Chappelle, this is when we break up these survivor seasons. It's easy when there's a swap. We could say like, OK, we have the pre swap. We got the post swap. And then you have all the merge. The pre swap is now over four episodes. It's been a weird four episodes. It's really not about the people that we think about when we talk about Survivor Co. Wrong.
[00:56:36] Yeah. It's not their show. Once again, I think this is a zero confessional episode for Michelle and a zero confessional episode for Aubrey, too. Yeah. Michelle, they talked to her at the challenge where she was like, she's like, it's all this is all very overwhelming. But she did not have a confessional about the whole situation. It's the winner. Edit, Rob. It's the winner. And you got to pay attention to these. No, this is crazy.
[00:57:02] It's crazy that these two people that the show will largely come down to like in the history of Co. Wrong will be told through the eyes of these two people. And they are getting no content because they're surrounded by crazy people. Debbie being on the tribe is wild. Liz and Peter, underrated characters in the season. Ty, camera hog, love them to death. And then Caleb made this entire episode about him. And Alicia still managed to be a really big character. Liz Markham. I mean, not Liz Markham.
[00:57:30] Jennifer Lanzetti had a whole episode basically dedicated to her. And she even had the ear moment. What are Michelle and Aubrey to do to crack through these knuckleheads? They're going to wait and they're going to buy their time. And they're going to start to be in more focus after we get to the swap. Big Aubrey episode coming up, I think. Oh, okay. Okay, cool. Yeah, I think. Did the male jar have a moment in this episode? No, he just won the challenge. He helped them win the challenge. No. Yeah, you're right.
[00:57:57] A lot of the big names, we're just kind of like playing around with the pre-merge people. And they're a good time. Yeah. Okay. So I think that we're going to have two episodes in our swap tribes. And then we have our merge is going to be in episode seven, I believe. Okay. Okay. Okay. And so in the swap tribes, we lose Peter and Anna Kate? Yes. Okay. Okay. It's coming back to me. Okay. Now, actually, you know, I think I had it wrong. I think maybe Anna Kate goes out next.
[00:58:27] I think I thought it was Peter. I think it's maybe it's Anna next. How did he last so long? Like the new Alicia. Yeah. Yeah. So then this episode that I asked Chappelle before I came on, what's the name of this episode? It's Signed, Sealed, and Delivered. Yeah. Because that was Alicia's fate. The Wandoffs would have been lit this week. This is pre-Wandoff? Pre-Wandoff. I always forget that. Wandoff really takes off around, not Ghost Island, around Hero Steelers. Yeah. HHH.
[00:58:56] So still not even for a couple seasons. Yeah. You know, that's one of my faves. I've talked about it here. HHH? I've talked about it on RHIP at least four times now for no reason, except for I exist. I might be the foremost expert on that season. So yeah. Okay. In what, two years? Let me know and we can talk about it. Okay. 2027? Is that 2028? Who knows? All right. I think that's it for episode four. I think so.
[00:59:24] I still think it was a good episode. And I'm starting to question everything I know about the new era. I say this every single episode. But it just feels like even with the wacky way this episode panned out with the medevac, with Alicia basically skipping the whole scramble back at camp, just like fast forwarding to the tribal council. So it was still good TV. I had a great time. What about you? Yeah. I mean, this was gripping. I knew what was going to happen.
[00:59:53] And it was on the edge of my seat. Loved every second of it. The characters are really carrying the season. And, you know, not to make any, you know, sweeping generalizations about the new era, but I just feel like maybe more characters. Maybe more character moments. March 9th, 2016 was when we watched this episode in the real time. No live show or nothing like that. No live. Just a normal. No it all. Aris was on the podcast the next day.
[01:00:20] People were mad that we weren't sensitive enough about Alicia. Alicia. Oh. Do you think we're sensitive enough about Alicia now? I don't know. I think that people, like, I'm trying to think of, like, how the world has shifted. I think that people are certainly more sensitive to her plight. I think that it was hard for somebody who's, like, been with Survivor.
[01:00:45] Because she gets kind of the dodo edit of, like, Survivor, like, if you're reading between the subtext, like, Survivor is kind of dunking on her. Uh, but people are also being mean to her. But I think that people are very sensitive to the fact that, like, hey, here's this young woman, and she's really being bullied by, uh, these two guys who are just being horrible to her. And so, um, I, I start, like, uh, I understand why people really, uh, felt bad for her.
[01:01:15] Even if maybe people didn't stan her, they felt bad for her. I think people would have if there was something there, right? Like, I think people were trying to stan her. Because I think, naturally, if you see somebody getting picked on, you want to, like, uplift them, right? So it's like, oh, y'all gonna pick on Alicia? Well, guess what? She's coming to end your faves. Take that, Jennifer Lanzetti. But then, you know, the show is continuously dunking on her, which makes it really hard to stan her. But, um, I like that, uh, she pushed back.
[01:01:45] I like that she seemingly remained upbeat about everything. She didn't let these insurmountable odds, like, keep her down. Just the idea that they even want to vote her out without tribal council is so demeaning. She didn't give up. I mean, she's not gonna let you forget that she didn't give up. But it's so demeaning the way they're like, we ain't even gotta go to tribal council. Like, F you. We always go to tribal council. We going to tribal council, goddamn. You know, so I, if we don't, if people feel like we have not been sensitive enough to Alicia,
[01:02:14] I want to go on record and say that I don't like how they treated her, okay? No, nobody likes it. Yeah, this was, this sucked. This sucked. I would have hated to have been in her position, honestly, because I probably would have reacted way worse than she had, okay? She kept it cool, for the most part. And where I would have flipped out. And, um, you know, more power to her. Could you think we ever see Alicia on TV again? Where is she? Where is Alicia now? I looked her up. I feel like on Instagram, I could, like, that if I found the real one on Instagram, I think she is not an active person.
[01:02:44] Oh, an active person, like, in life? Um, she might be an active. I mean, she said she was in a cage with tigers. I think she's probably an active person. But I feel like that the Alicia Holden Instagram that I found had, like, 100 followers. I came across this Reddit thread where it says, Alicia Holden is one of the best anti-heroes in Survivor history, in my opinion. She was a doomed mess, but you couldn't help but root for her.
[01:03:14] And I won't say one of the best anti-heroes, but definitely a doomed mess that I could not help but root for. I was rooting for Alicia. I wanted her to do something. And she wasn't able to overcome these odds, but she gave it a good shot. She gave it a fight. Yeah. You know, so I think that the one I found, I think, might be a fan account. I think that maybe the real one is this one that is private. I love obscure reality TV fan accounts so much.
[01:03:41] I think this one, it's private, but it has the little captions. That's showbiz, baby. Yeah, it sounds like her. Yeah, I want the fan accounts. I want fan cams for the most obscure Survivor players. To me, those things always, like, where's the Mike Dutz fan cam? You know what I'm saying? From Big Brother. Those are the types of weird shit that I like to see on the internet. Instead of talking about these players and being super critical of their games,
[01:04:11] after a while, if they didn't have an impact, let's make up one. Let's just be like Alicia, the pre-merge ender, you know? She took out, like, she's like the grim reaper of the pre-merge. All these people fell victim to her wake. I love stuff like that. Oh, okay. Well, actually, so I do have an update before we got a million requests. Okay. So I happen to be on a Reddit thread called, How is Alicia Holden doing in real life? Oh. The original poster from five years ago wrote, I'm listening to Rob's coverage of Korong,
[01:04:41] and I'm reminded about how awfully she was treated. It made me hope that she's doing well now outside the game. Does anybody know? And somebody said, apparently, she's living in Dubai. But then I did find her up-to-date Instagram account, and her Instagram handle is a fearless, life's limitless underscore. A great Alicia Holden of fearless,
[01:05:09] life's limitless underscore. 31,000 followers. Look at her. Killing it. No, that definitely sounds like her. The descriptors you just listed sounds like the way she would describe herself. So I'm glad she's cooking. I'm glad she's good. And I bet she probably looks at Survivor as just a thing she did in the past, right? Like a thing that she was put in a position where it was going to be really tough. She's a tiny lady surrounded by big, mean dudes. And she managed to last way longer than anybody probably would have bet. Yep.
[01:05:39] And she's doing great stuff. So happy ending for her. Yeah, good on Alicia. Yeah, so there you go. Hopefully we were sensitive enough to her plight. Okay, all right. Chappelle, we're going to come back with episode number five coming up on Wednesday. Anything else you want to tell people about? More Interview with the Vampire coverage, more House of the Dragon coverage, and more Charm School slash The Flavor of Love coverage over on RecapKickback.com,
