[00:04:22] It's a Casualty. Hello, hello. It's been a very long time since we have had an official Casualty with Amon and B, but don't you worry. We are back this month in June for your Casualty. I'm so excited to welcome my friend, my brother. He always be so busy,
[00:04:54] but I locked him down to get him back for this month. Let's welcome back to the podcast, Amon. Hey, hey, hey. Happy Pride month, everybody. Happy, happy. It's so good to be back. Yes, it's been such a long time.
[00:05:11] I really feel like at the top of the gear, I was like, Posse, I'm going to lock Amon down. We're gonna get these things going. And then 2024 started 2024-ing. I know, I know. I can't believe we're almost at the halfway point of it.
[00:05:27] I feel like it was just like, I feel like it just turned 2024 and we're almost halfway out. Like what is going on? Time does not stop. It's crazy. I just ordered three Christmas gifts on Amazon last week because... Yeah, because you bend down to tie your shoes,
[00:05:44] you come back up and it's Christmas time. Right. It is so crazy, but I am excited that the summer is here though, right? And I'm really trying to like enjoy. Well, technically it's still spring. But the weather is definitely summer-ing. Yes, it is for sure.
[00:06:00] The weather is definitely summer-ing. There was a couple of times last week that I was like, should I turn my air conditioner on? Should I turn my air conditioner on? But I'm one of those people that's like, I try to wait until the very, very,
[00:06:12] very last minute to turn my air on. Because I feel like once you turn your air on... It's hard to go back. Right, there's no turning back for the rest of the summer. And so, you know me, I try to be an efficient electricity user.
[00:06:26] And so, I try to like really stretch it out. So there were a couple of times last week where I was like waking up in the middle of the night, drenched in sweat and I'm getting up, going to the bathroom and splashing cold water
[00:06:38] on my face and going back to bed. But yeah, spring summer is here. I'm excited. I really wanna be like present this summer. I have some trips planned. I'm going to some weddings. I'm going to see my nephew that lives in Las Vegas.
[00:06:55] So I'm really excited for the summer. But I know that it's gonna go by so quick. But I'm trying to like just be present, be a little bit more present because I've been tired recently and I feel like I've distanced myself enough from my social calendar
[00:07:14] that I'm feeling a little rejuvenated. Are you, what's your thoughts on this summer? I really want to do all the summer things. So I feel like I tried to do that last year and I really didn't do too much. And I think the key is to try
[00:07:31] to be a little bit less ambitious this time. So I think for me, what I want for this summer to be complete for me, I want to go to an amusement park at least once. So I'm thinking maybe something local, maybe something like Six Flags,
[00:07:43] maybe like take the two hour trip to Hershey Park, something in the area so that it's not too much of a commitment. We'll pass on Hershey, but Six Flags or Dorney, but go on. Yeah, Six Flags or Dorney for sure. I want to go on a camping trip.
[00:07:55] Yeah! I don't know where, maybe like upstate New York, but sometimes it's a little Trumpy over there. So maybe, maybe, I don't know. I don't know. It's Trumpy everywhere. Most places with the woods around our area. It's a little, you both get billboarded too
[00:08:09] and you might see something that you don't wanna see and you'll be changed for life because I certainly have. But I'll figure it out. So a camping trip, an amusement park trip. I want to do New York City Pride to kick off the summer
[00:08:21] because I feel like that's like the biggest gay event in the state is New York City Pride. And then there was one more thing that I wanted to do. What else did I wanna do? Is camping, amusement park, New York City Pride.
[00:08:35] I forget the other one, but it'll come back to me. But those are the things that I really want to just make happen for myself this year and just, oh, beach! Of course, I wanna go to the beach at least three times this summer, at least.
[00:08:46] So that's like, that's Amon's big summer requirements this year and I feel like it's doable. I feel like if I split it up throughout the months, I feel like I can make it happen. I think it's absolutely doable. I don't wanna interject myself onto your summer list,
[00:09:01] but count me in for the camping trip because for the last four years, I've been trying to get my friend group to go tubing and go camping. And no one is like, that doesn't appeal to many of my friends. And I'm like-
[00:09:22] I don't know why people are so uptight about it because some of my friends are like that too. One of my friends, her name is Nettie and she always says, why would I pretend to be homeless? I'm like, oh my God.
[00:09:32] It is about freeing yourself of all of the bullshit that you deal with every day and sort of just roughing it and going back to bare bones. You don't have to be in a tent. We can go to a place that has a cabin. A cabin, yes.
[00:09:50] You know, fucking campfires and camp food. Don't you remember the magic with camping when you were little? It was fun. Love, love, love it. So I know of there are plenty of state parks in Pennsylvania that you can rent cabins for for like $25 a night.
[00:10:07] There are plenty of like parks in the Poconos that are like camping areas that you can like rent a camping space for like 30 to $40 a night. Like I have a tent because I want to say during the pandemic, which is crazy to say that like four years ago,
[00:10:24] like that's something that I really wanted to do. And so I order all this stuff on Amazon. Like I have tents, I have sleeping bags. I have all this stuff that it's just like sitting in my basement. And it's like, I obviously I was on survival
[00:10:38] but like I love camping. I think like, you know, stoking the campfire like going on heights. If it has a lake chilling at the lake of course, you know, the beverages, drinking throughout the day. Like I just, you know, being a little funky smelling like the campfire.
[00:10:53] Like I love all of that stuff. I love roughing it a little bit. Like it just, I don't know. It just feels liberating. It just feels, it's just like, it's just, yeah. Just, it's like a little vacay away from life. I love it. I love it.
[00:11:05] So I might, I'm gonna have to hold you that in mind. I'm gonna send you some camping areas and maybe we could set a date and like the end of July, August. And even- I was about to say, end of July, beginning of August sounds great.
[00:11:18] And even like September-esque because it's the weather is still kind of warm. So I will love, and you prefer cabin or tent? I'm fine with either or. I don't really, I don't mind. I don't, I really don't mind. So. Cause I love packing for camping.
[00:11:35] Like I love getting cool. I love like, you know, for me, if it's a cabin, like I love to get like the breakfast food for me. My contribution to when I go camping is like, I love to like get up and make like a really big
[00:11:48] breakfast and just like, but yeah. So this is something we could definitely talk about because I bet you just, you're speaking to my soul. But so yeah, we've got some things curated for this casualty. Nothing too crazy, but you know,
[00:12:05] some things that I definitely think we need to talk about. The first T that I want to talk about is just Pride Month in general. How have you been enjoying your pride? How do you celebrate your Pride Month? What does Pride Month mean to you?
[00:12:22] So I, it's, I've had an interesting journey with Pride Month because I, you know, I didn't even really know what Pride was until I want to say it. After maybe like, did I learn about it in college? I don't even know.
[00:12:35] I feel like I didn't really do much for Pride when I was in school. And then I actually like was out at Pride because I was working. My first restaurant job is in Center City and that's when we had Pride back in 2016.
[00:12:47] And that was like my first time like really seeing it for what it was. And to be honest, you know, I was still like not all the way out even after graduating college. Like of course all of my friends knew and but I still hadn't really talked
[00:13:00] with my family about it. It was still very much a thing where I was still grappling with how to be this person. And so I didn't really attend any Prides until like all of my friends started to really get into it.
[00:13:12] And then the first time I like actually went to and like went to Pride and didn't have to work was New York City Pride back in 2018, I think or 2019. And I think that was the first time where I was like, okay, I'm gay as hell.
[00:13:30] And I really just enjoyed how kind everybody tended to be. Everyone just had on such amazing outfits and just running through the streets of New York City, just being free, the music, the food, just meeting random strangers, taking pictures with random strangers.
[00:13:50] Just it was just a really, really good time. And so from since then, I've really tried to make it a point to enjoy Pride most of the time because I am still working part time in the service industry.
[00:14:01] I do end up having to work this past one here in Philly. We just had ours last week. It was, it started out nice and then it kind of deteriorated a little bit. The cops had to get involved. There were reports of shootings and all sorts of craziness.
[00:14:11] People were like running back and forth up and down the street. It was a little crazy. They had to even, they even shut us down. We had a DJ inside the place where I work and the police came in right at seven o'clock
[00:14:19] and said, shut it down, shut it down. Because apparently I guess at Woody's, which is a couple blocks over, like a bunch of fights just broke out. So I guess the police were like, all right, we're done. Everybody shut it down. Everybody go home.
[00:14:29] And so it started out nice. I made some money, so that was cool. But I definitely, like I said before, I think I'm really intending on going to New York City Pride again this year and that's gonna be like my main pride event this year.
[00:14:40] I went to DC Pride last year. That was fun. I got to see Idina Menzel sing live. She's, I heard her sing, fucking let it go live. It was amazing. And yeah, so I enjoy Pride. I think it's a really, really special time of year
[00:14:52] and I've definitely, it's definitely grown on me. Yeah. Oh, I love that. I love Pride. I always hate to be that gay, but Pride is just really interesting for me because I feel like when I was growing up being a young gay,
[00:15:12] like right out of high school into college, I had a very like close intimate circle of like gay black men that we like did everything together. And so we went through a lot of, there were so many,
[00:15:25] and I hate to say back in the day like I'm an old girl, but during my heyday of going out, there were so many underground black queer spaces that like, mind you, I might've been 19 sneaking into these Speakeasy clubs, like Kamek Street.
[00:15:45] That's what the name of this one Speakeasy was. And it was just like such a celebration of like black queerness that I had the privilege of kind of like experiencing in Philadelphia. And so like the brother and sisterhood that I had then was like really amazing.
[00:16:03] And we used to go to Philly Black Gay Pride, which is around the Penn Relays, which is I believe in April. And so each big city like Philadelphia, Miami, New York, and DC, they all have their own black gay pride.
[00:16:19] And so they're all kind of like spaced out around between like April and the end of August. And so it's just really a space that like I, being that's kind of like my first real like queer big spaces is kind of being
[00:16:35] in those black spaces really kind of like shaped who I am today. And so like I love pride. I think what it stands for is great. I think that like, I love to see this younger generation just being so like authentically them and celebrating themselves.
[00:16:54] But I just have to be honest that sometimes like with this Pride month, like I really don't feel seen. I really feel like it's like a white man, a white gay man's celebration. I don't really feel like, I don't like,
[00:17:07] it's just hard for me to always get on board. Like I don't really love going to the parades because it's like, again, it's just like more white spaces and there's nothing wrong with that. I love that. But again, just kind of like my upbringing
[00:17:20] with like the friends that I had and the places that we would go, just being in these very black queer spaces for me was like everything. And so whenever my friends asked to go out to clubs and stuff, like of course I'll go.
[00:17:34] And of course, you know, I can have a kiki but I just always hate going to like white gay clubs and just feeling like this ain't my scene or just like, you know, going out and it's like, no one's trying to talk to me.
[00:17:47] No one's hitting on me, like, you know. And it's like when you go into black spaces and there's just this like, you know, I don't know. So that's really what I miss. And I know that Philadelphia, we do have a black gay club now it's called Level Up.
[00:17:59] It's not the greatest, but it is a space for black gay people to visit. So we have stuff, I just, I wish it was better, but I just missed some of those black queer spaces that we used to have access to. And I'm just really blessed that like,
[00:18:20] that was kind of my experience of growing up and being surrounded by blackness, but also queerness and just having that really instilled in me. And kind of to know that like, yeah, this overall pride is great. I love it, but like, I just yearn for those,
[00:18:37] for those black spaces. And so I used to not really say that a lot because it's like, I don't know if, I don't want people to think that I'm like hating or something, but that's just really kind of been my experience. And yeah, like it's hard.
[00:18:49] Like in Pride has become so commercialized as most things often do when they hit the mainstream like that. So there's like so many people that attend the parade now and that's great. And that's fine. Like I'm not gonna knock anybody that wants
[00:19:00] to be an ally or just wants to enjoy the festival or the parade or whatever it is. But sometimes, yeah, you do sort of get that feeling of you look around and you're like, this doesn't feel like the community that it was originally intended for sometimes. Right?
[00:19:15] Or the ones that it was intended for, I felt like I'm not a part of that community most times. And that's like one of the things like where for me, I regret, largely I am okay with the decision that I made
[00:19:28] in the school that I chose to go to. But sometimes in the back of my mind, when I think about my relationship with my own queerness and blackness, sometimes I'm like, damn, I wish I would have went to an HBCU
[00:19:38] because I did so much of my self discovery into my queerness in college. And sometimes I'm like, damn, if I were a little bit more surrounded by other folks that are like me and coming into that journey, maybe it would not have taken as long as it did.
[00:19:52] Maybe it would not be as painful as it was. I just would have felt a little bit more confident within myself. Cause I feel like I've definitely gotten there that I've made so many strides rather, but yeah, sometimes I'm like, damn, I'm surrounded by so many white gays
[00:20:08] and they don't necessarily understand what it's like for me a lot of the time. And that's okay, like they're not going to, they're white, but sometimes you just want that comfort. You want to feel like someone gets it. And a lot of the time I didn't feel
[00:20:21] like I did not feel like people got it. So I've been really trying in my adulthood. It's been great to sort of been able to really surround myself with more people of color and more queer people of color,
[00:20:32] because now I definitely feel like I found a nice pocket where I feel like I'm good. Like, I feel like I'm seen, I feel people understand me. So it's great. It's like a very like not taboo, but like it's a very, it's a nuance thing.
[00:20:44] And it's just interesting. And I think like through some of my friendships, like I'll even say with Wendell, like I think he didn't really understand it. And long story short, we had an LA event. We did an LA finale, like maybe a year and a half ago.
[00:21:02] And so shout out to Romeo, I wanna say from season 42. And that's like my good, good, good, good Judy. And so anytime I'm in LA, Romeo and I, like we always have to like, this again why I love Romeo and I love the survivor community
[00:21:18] that I can have a friend like Romeo where it's like, we don't talk all the time, but like whenever we see each other, it's always love. We always like connect. But whenever I'm in LA or whenever Romeo is near Philadelphia, it's like,
[00:21:30] hey, I don't care if it's 10 minutes. I don't care if it's seven hours. Like we need to like get up and go out. And so there is a black gay club at West Hollywood, I think it's called Trunk. And when I tell you that club
[00:21:45] reminds me of the black queer spaces that I grew up going out, sneaking out the house at 16, you know, my college years going to. And so every like anytime I'm in LA and we have time Romeo and I will go there.
[00:21:59] And I remember one year Wendell was around and I'm like, hey, come to this space with us. And Wendell's like, oh, okay. And so I had always been talking to Wendell about like how I don't love going to like the Woody's
[00:22:11] or like, you know, just out in these like West Hollywood spaces, cause it's like, it's not for me. And I think it was like for him being an ally, a straight black man, I think it was hard for him to kind of like grasp it.
[00:22:24] But when we went to like, we were out with a group of people. And so we went to a couple of other spots on West Hollywood. Now, mind you, I have nothing against West Hollywood, but I love West Hollywood. That whole like, I love it.
[00:22:36] Like I have a great time, but we went to a couple of other spots and we made it to Tronk and just the blackness that was up in there. Like just the like, and I'll never forget the next morning, Wendell was like, yo, I know what you mean.
[00:22:54] He was like, I went to Morehouse. He was like that space remind, I felt comfortable in there. Like, it was like a vibe. I'm like, yes. I'm like, this is like, you would never know this is or was a queer space that existed.
[00:23:08] And so it's just so funny. But again, I always get that feeling when I go to West Hollywood, especially the Trunks. And you know. Yeah, I know what you mean. Cause I went to, when I was in LA a few years back for a wedding,
[00:23:21] we went to West Hollywood just to, because that was the thing that you do if you're gay in LA. Please say you went to Tronks. Did you go to Tronks? I did not go to Tronks. I don't think I went to any like black gay clubs.
[00:23:32] Only one, it's only one. Okay, well, I didn't go there. I just remember, I don't remember the name of this one. It was like one of the most famous ones. It was kind of like, I don't even remember. I wish I could describe it, but it was,
[00:23:42] I just know what you mean because it was. It's great, right, right. Like I felt like I was like, oh, I don't know. I just did not feel like I was supposed to be in there. There's so much going on, but I love it.
[00:23:52] Like I, and again, I love West Hollywood. And I wish more cities had such, you know, Philly has a gay area, but it is just like, I mean West Hollywood is like seven times that. Right. It's a space. Like we have a couple blocks in that state. Yeah.
[00:24:07] And on those couple blocks there's only a few spots to be in. There's only a few. I've just never, it reminded me of South Beach. Like, I don't know if you ever been to South Beach, but like that Collins Avenue, that strip of,
[00:24:20] that strip of just nothing but clubs. And just for it to just be a queer space, like I love it. Or then also in that own queer space to have like a black space. That's just like, oh, it just was amazing. But yeah. So, but I'm loving Pride.
[00:24:37] I think it's amazing. And like, you know, what's that song? Be who you are. Who's that? I don't know. It's like some, I want to say it's like a drag queen singing this, like be who you are. It's like, I'm gonna have to send it to you,
[00:24:55] but listen, it's Pride, be who you are. Next. You bitch, be you. Yes, be you. F with them people say. So I really want to get into this. I don't know if you have seen this video. It was circulating the internet like two weeks ago.
[00:25:11] And when I wrote this casualty list, I went to go find the video so I could like send it with the list. But did you see the leaked video of Beyonce during the Renaissance era in the studio? Did you see that video? I don't,
[00:25:28] I think I saw like a small clip of it and she was talking to people, but I couldn't understand what she was saying. Yes. And I didn't understand what she was saying either. But so maybe like two weeks ago, and mind you, you can't find the clip now.
[00:25:38] Like Beyonce said, it's not gonna be on my internet. And essentially- And whoever took that clip is probably fired. And first of all, first of all, let's even start there. Okay. Beyonce don't even be out and about. Okay. For Cowboy Carter,
[00:25:54] that first week we saw Beyonce more than we had saw Beyonce in the last seven, eight, nine years. Just being out and about. Beyonce don't even be out. Whoever was in her crew in that studio that leaked that video, death to you. Shame to you. Right?
[00:26:14] Like the nerd. To all of them. And so mind you, she's in the studio. It's amongst, and mind you, it's like she's talking to a producer. And it looks like Jay-Z comes up behind her and is massaging her back and she's talking to a producer.
[00:26:28] And all I know is that she's talking about, there is no more room. Now I don't know if she's talking about physical room on the album, or if she's talking about rooms for someone to sleep. And she's saying that, this producer,
[00:26:41] and then I do hear the dream's name and it's like the dream, and even if he wanted to come, there is no more room for him. And that's really the clip. It's like seven seconds. We don't see clips of Beyonce. We don't see footage of Beyonce like that.
[00:26:54] And so it's like, Beyonce don't allow herself to be revealed. And now it's like, so whatever little jerk, whoever thought it was a good idea to leak that video. I know. Just like this ad. How would you utilize AI audio? For free.

[00:29:08] Audiostack.ai forward slash contest. You're only gonna make her go back underground. Are there now? Because I really believe, at first when I would see tweets about like, oh yeah, I didn't F it up for everybody now. She's not gonna do nothing for this amount of time.
[00:29:26] I was like, y'all are being dramatic. She does not really care that much. She has not been addictive that way. But I'm starting to believe that she is. Oh, she is. Every time something happens and the B house is acting up, you don't see her no more.
[00:29:40] Right, I was watching this TikTok video of this podcast of these people saying, I believe one of Beyonce's biggest radio hits ever. Do you know what song it is? Radio hits? Yes. Probably Irreplaceable. Okay, come on. Irreplaceable. To the left, to the left.
[00:30:00] Can you tell me the last time you've seen Beyonce perform Irreplaceable? I don't think, did she perform it during Renaissance? Did she? No, she performed it on Renaissance. She didn't perform it on Formation. She didn't perform it on On The Run, On The Run 1 or The Run 2.
[00:30:16] She does not perform Irreplaceable anymore, which is weird, right? Like your biggest commercial selling hit. I was watching this podcast that said, and they pulled up this interview. You can pull up the interview too. Type in Neo talking about Irreplaceable. So Neo wrote Irreplaceable.
[00:30:35] And in this interview, Neo was essentially saying, he wasn't talking bad about Beyonce, but, and I'm just giving you the cliff notes, it was kind of essentially saying, I don't know if he felt some type of way or that he doesn't get acknowledged
[00:30:50] for the credit of his contributions to Irreplaceable. And not on any fault of Beyonce, he was saying, but essentially like he's like, and clearly Irreplaceable is one of his biggest songs too because he wrote it, but essentially he was just saying like
[00:31:03] how he doesn't feel like he gets acknowledged for that. Right. I saw that interview. She ain't performed Irreplaceable since, okay? Beyonce said, let me show you how long and big my catalog is. If you feel like you don't get acknowledgement for Irreplaceable,
[00:31:23] let me see how much acknowledgement you get now. So it's okay. It is a little, now y'all know I love Beyonce down, right? Like my nickname is literally Amonce, okay? I, there's a piece in me that is a little worried that we might see more of an upheaval
[00:31:50] from people that are in the industry that have written songs for other artists or at least written the majority of songs for other artists and not getting the money and the credit that they deserve because over the past ever since, you know,
[00:32:08] cause we know what happened in Hollywood. Well, but I meant in general, just to be even beyond Beyonce. I know what was happening in Hollywood with the strikes, the after strikes and the writer strike. And that sort of bled a little bit into the music industry as well
[00:32:21] where a lot of songwriters started blowing the whistle and being like, well, while we're at it, let me just say that I have been doing this, this, this, this, and this. And there are certain favorite artists of all of yours
[00:32:33] that do not compensate us in the way that we should. We don't get publishing. Yeah, they don't, we don't get publishing. They purchase all of that from us so that we can't, we literally cannot make any money off of this song
[00:32:44] and then they go on to have huge success. And Beyonce's name came out of a lot of those songwriters. Oh, I've heard that and I've seen that and I agree. I just don't feel like it's necessarily a Beyonce issue, right? I think it's a larger conversation
[00:33:02] because I also feel like these songwriters, well, if that's the case, then did you sign anything? Right. There's always that. Right, right, right. So like, let's just be clear. You're just stealing it and not like, you were compensated.
[00:33:16] You just didn't know how big the song was gonna be now the song that that big and now you sign like, so again, I- And you didn't have the negotiating power to get more money from the top, which I guess, that is more than Beyonce.
[00:33:30] That is just an industry issue. You got people, I mean, we see it with Diddy. He was like the hallmark of that, having everybody sign these 360 deals and then they're trapped in these contracts. And if their career doesn't take off, there's nothing they can do about it.
[00:33:44] So, you know, yeah, it's, I think that there needs to be, I think if there is this big disparity that songwriters are talking about, which I don't doubt that there is, I think that it does behoove some of these larger artists to,
[00:34:00] I don't know, if you have the power and you have the capital, maybe you wanna think about changing some of these rules around. So some of these songwriters are able to like live off of the work that they're doing. I completely agree.
[00:34:10] I even take it a step further. Like, I think that because I don't, sometimes I don't necessarily think it is the artist's job itself, because sometimes like you're in the studio, they will send you a beat and a song and you're like, ooh, I like this.
[00:34:23] And then like, you know, like I want this. And then I feel like the management is like, okay, we'll go obtain all of the things that you need for this. And, you know, I think that that's all the artist thinks about.
[00:34:34] So I just definitely don't think that it is like, I agree. I mean, to be clear, I don't want anybody to think that I'm saying that Beyonce is a thief, right? No, right. I think that she, some songwriters might disagree. I don't know.
[00:34:50] I don't know all the logistics of what it, like all the back wheel dealings of how, you know, songwriting works. I don't, I'm not in the industry. I don't know. But I do know that there is a lot of, there seems to be a larger conversation
[00:35:02] around some of how this works and how it doesn't always seem very fair. And someone pointed out, one of the songwriters pointed out, she was like, look, that's probably no shade to Beyonce, but that's probably why she's never won album of the year
[00:35:15] because she has so many artists that are attached to each and every one of the songs that are on her albums. Yes, she is the running credit. And I think that people also, I think people, I think people may overestimate
[00:35:26] just how much other people are doing on Beyonce songs. And I think that people also underestimate just how much of a producer Beyonce actually is. Now, she doesn't just write, but she creates a lot of that music as well. She arranges those vocals herself.
[00:35:41] So it's not entirely fair to say that she does nothing, but I do think that if there are begrudged like songwriters that are a part of the academy and they see the list of credits on her songs, they're like, well,
[00:35:53] how can we give her this album of the year award if there's so many people that are attached to the project? So I don't know. I think it's definitely an interesting conversation that I think is not gonna stop anytime soon.
[00:36:04] If anything, I think it's gonna gain some wings and we might see a lot happening, especially when you have someone, well, you have one of the biggest artists in the world right now in Taylor Swift who writes all of her music
[00:36:15] and she gets so much critical acclaim for it. So it's like, hmm, I'm wondering what this might lead to in the future? I agree. But I also feel like, let me, I don't even want to go on Taylor Swift, but I also feel like, yeah, Taylor Swift,
[00:36:30] as Taylor says, she writes all of her music, but let's be real, they sound the same. It does. You know what I mean? And so there's a difference of like, like you know, like, and again, like Beyonce just isn't just making music. She is making soundtracks of generations.
[00:36:44] She is like, so- She is an artiste. Right. And again, Calabre Carter speaks to that in itself and just the dialogue alone that the album has brought. But again, I just also feel like we hear these same issues with Drake and like, you know,
[00:37:00] listen to the Brayson Tiller and all of this stuff. Like, I really do think it's like a capitalistic, like model in this country that we have an issue with. Like, and it's not just in the music industry, it's in the sports industry. Look at the WNBA.
[00:37:14] Look at how much like the WNBA women get paid. And now because of Caitlyn and Angel Reese, like, you know, where it's really changing the dynamic, but like, it's this, it's our society, right? It's just, it's not just the one, one podcasters could say the same thing.
[00:37:32] Like, it's not just, did you catch it? It's not just isolated to the music industry because child then it's like, now the writers are saying it, but child, do you remember when Napster was around? Like, it's just this whole greater conversation. So I agree with you.
[00:37:51] And so it is interesting. Another thing about Beyonce is with Calabre Carter, everyone is wondering like, what is Beyonce going on tour? What's happening? And so first of all, I'm very thankful that like she didn't go on tour this summer. But so I've heard-
[00:38:07] It would have been too soon. Yeah. But my true, I low key kind of did want her to start like promoting this album because we could get to Act 3 faster. And although people say- No! You don't believe it, but it really does. Let me finish bitch.
[00:38:20] It just came out. Because, so no, I agree. But the only reason why I wanna get to Act 3 faster is that like, it's allegedly gonna be rock and roll. And I really do feel like with this body of work this trilogy that Beyonce is putting out
[00:38:33] and the songs and what she is saying, I really do feel like Beyonce is saying like, this is the end for me. Or the end for me in the capacity of how I've been doing it that you guys will see, right? Like I really do feel like Act 3
[00:38:47] is going to be probably the last time Beyonce tours how she tours. Now I say all that to say that I wanna get through Act 2 to get to Act 3 because I really hope that if that sense is true, then maybe after we get Act 3
[00:39:01] that maybe we'll finally get Destiny's Child album. So it's like, that's why I wanna get through it. But I agree. All roads lead back to- Because listen, I just, I hope that it comes and mind you, it's not gonna come before the timeframe
[00:39:15] that I want it, but I just hope that like I am here and I can enjoy it and be like, feel young and look as good as I want to enjoy it. But back to the conspiracy theories that are out there is that one, people don't think
[00:39:32] that she's going to tour album, Carter, Cowboy Carter, like she has historically toured it. There are two major rumors out there. One, that somewhere in Texas, she's going to create like a Chitlin Circuit Festival. Have you heard this? Have you- I have heard that theory, yes.
[00:39:49] And it would be like, I don't know if it'd be like a week, three days or something, but a festival kind of like the size of Coachella that can hold a lot of people. And it would be for like three, four, five days
[00:39:59] and then everyone would come to her. I kind of love that. I would be there so fucking fast. The way that I have started to put together my Cowboy Carter or Chitlin Circuit, like Cowboy aesthetic outfit is crazy to me. Can you imagine a music festival
[00:40:22] that is just all about Beyonce? And knowing Beyonce, I don't think that it would be all about Beyonce. I really feel like it would, of course we would have like- Yeah, we probably have a few other people too. A lot of other people.
[00:40:34] If it's a festival, a festival will be all day. Beyonce going to be the headliner at night. It's going to be like probably all the black people that are in the country music genre. It would be like- I need it to happen now. I've never been to Texas.
[00:40:48] This would be the perfect first time to go. Yes. So that is one of the things that is potentially on the horizon. Then the other thing that in my opinion seems more realistic from the accounts that I have seen, first of all, it's the Twitter, it's the X,
[00:41:06] it's the TikTok accounts that are just dedicated to speculating all of this stuff. Maybe sleuthing, okay? Thank you for all the hard work that you do. The other is the Sphere in Vegas. I believe you too has a residency there
[00:41:21] and all of the hardworking Beyonce journalists out there have noticed a gap after YouTube leaves of like there is nothing confirmed. And so people are speculating that she might hold a residency in Vegas. There was a Think Ticket Master might've posted something with a cowboy thing.
[00:41:45] They did and then they never followed up with it. At least I don't think they did. Right. They had Vegas and a cowboy. And so there also could be a world where, and mind you. And during the Super Bowl commercial right before she dropped Texas Hold'em and 16 Carriages,
[00:42:03] during her commercial, there was a part where she was on top of the Sphere, I think. Like on top of like she was like, cause she was trying to, the whole premise for those of you that have not seen the commercial, where were you first of all?
[00:42:13] Second of all, the whole premise of the commercial was she was trying to break the internet. So we just go through all these scenes of her trying to do all these things, selling lemonade in the middle of the street,
[00:42:23] trying to be the first woman in space to perform. And then there was like a shot where she was, it was close up on her and when you zoom out, she's on top of a cow, she's on top of a horse,
[00:42:34] on top of what I believe was the Vegas Sphere. So people were like, oh my God, like that's a hint, she's gonna be there. So. So that would be something great because again, it will be a residency, not sure for how long,
[00:42:46] but I also feel like a residency would be less taxing on Beyonce's body, right? She's still performing, but she's not traveling how she would travel. And so that would be an interesting thing. Obviously, you know, I would be going to Vegas and you know,
[00:43:03] so those are the speculations. And so those are the two big ones that I believe to be true. I prefer the first option. I mean, the residency will be fine, but. I love a festival because me, for me a festival is great
[00:43:20] because it's like I'm a people watcher, right? Like I just, first of all, I love to get in a cute little outfit, get some sunglasses, you know, have me a little cocktail drink and people watch. That one might make more sense for the rock and roll one,
[00:43:32] you know what I mean? Well, right. Because again, and especially with like the Chitlin circuit, it's like she's bringing a Chitlin circuit stop. But the Sphere also, I don't know if anyone has like seen the Sphere, we have like the Franklin Institute
[00:43:46] or like, I don't know if you ever seen a movie that's like, and they do it in the 3D theater. Like essentially that's what the Sphere is. It's a stadium, but it's like this, like a child, the way I would. It's like being immersed
[00:43:59] in like IMAX screens all around you. Yes, IMAX. Okay, I said 3D. IMAX, okay. The way I would be lifted by some herbal remnants and be in that, like it would just be, I would love that, right? And also it's like they read the reports. The Sphere,
[00:44:19] I don't know when it was built maybe like four or five years ago was like this multi-billion dollar project. And ever since it was built, it hasn't really been making money. And so again- Yeah, I feel like I don't even see a lot of footage
[00:44:30] of people that have been there. So I'm like, it seems like it's a big waste of money. Well, U2 is, you know, has their residency now, but obviously that is definitely something Beyonce will put back on the map. For sure, for sure. Cause you know she would,
[00:44:47] I mean her visuals are already amazing as they are on like a regular stage. So just imagine like what her vision would be with that, with the Sphere, like come on now. Ooh. So yeah, but also just with Beyonce in this country genre, we already couldn't get tickets
[00:45:06] with her going to the Gays now. Can you imagine the regular Beyonce fans, the Gays and the country fans, child I don't even know if we ever gonna get the damn tickets. I know people are definitely, cause this album, it's definitely has a lot more listeners
[00:45:20] than Renaissance did initially. Which you know, because we could have expected that to happen, but yeah, I mean if I need to fight grandma, grandma Sally, if I need to fight grandma Sally who is trying to get a little bit of nostalgia from her old country days,
[00:45:36] I will gladly trip her on the way to ticket master. I don't care. I don't care. Beyonce is mine, she belongs to me. Okay. Okay and then keeping in the Beyonce wheelhouse, now I'm gonna say this wrong. What is it the, the can,
[00:45:53] You see how I don't believe, I don't believe the S is pronounced. I think it's just can. Thank you. Can Film Festival. We've always heard this festival for years. Again, you know what a film festival is, a lot of films that have not come out yet, indie films,
[00:46:09] they submit their films to these festivals and they win awards and a lot of them are in hopes for award season. If you do the movie film festival circuit, like it's all, it's kind of like you want a Grammy, like you have to like do all these things,
[00:46:28] but these film festivals are not about like indie movies that will submit them to the festival. They get played, they get watched and you know, they win awards at these festivals. It's also just a big like, lot of celebrities go, it's like you know,
[00:46:44] like you know the Oscars all this and that. I think what I mean. Yeah it's kind of like the stepping stone like towards getting your stuff nominated at the Oscars. It's kind of like as Bryce just said, it's like the,
[00:46:55] it's sort of like the campaign trail for movies, like one of the stops. Right. It's in France and you know, I think what is most iconic about can Film Festival is that like the steps, you see a lot of the movie stars taking steps.
[00:47:10] You can Google can red carpet and you'll see, I think I remember like a long time ago, one of the ones that I always remember is like Angelina Jolie. She just like, just that's back when I like was obsessed with her. I'm still obsessed with Angelina.
[00:47:24] So am I, but like I just, I used to just be like. I was like, I would just, I wanted to be here when I was like. I was about to say the same thing. For the longest time, I was like, if I could ever come back,
[00:47:35] it would be like, just like, I don't know. I just, yeah. I just remember she just had this like iconic pose and like there's so many celebrities. Now this year, it seems a little different or maybe it's always been this way. We've just never really seen it,
[00:47:51] but you know, what's brought to our attention one Saturday morning that Kelly Rowland was cussing somebody out on some steps. Now mind you, Kelly Rowland is a part of Destiny's Child. Kelly Rowland does not get her just flowers, but one thing about Kelly Rowland
[00:48:06] is she is the ultimate professional. You know, she was brought up in the Matthew Nose bootcamp. There ain't too much, you ain't going to do too much drama about a Kelly Rowland. Like she is the epitome of a professional, right? Like she do her stuff.
[00:48:22] She mind her business. Like she put her music out that y'all don't support. She does films that y'all don't support, but like, Kelly Rowland does her thing. You know I love me and Kelly Rowland and mind you, one of her best albums that like no one ever really
[00:48:34] talks about is Miss Kelly. Do yourself a favor during Pride month. Get into Miss Kelly. It's ahead of its time. Anyway, we see this clip of her cussing this lady out on the carpet. So yeah. And it's like she's rushing Kelly up the steps.
[00:48:51] Now I thought the whole point of the steps was you walk up the steps, you take a photo and you know, in the dresses that these ladies be wearing, it ain't easy to take a photo. You got to strike a pose. Like I mean, it's like award show 101.
[00:49:08] Like it's like the Met Gala, the steps at the Met Gala. Like it's like, have we ever seen anyone like rushing people off the state, the steps of the Met Gala? Like they got to get their photo. It's like Kelly Rowland didn't even get her photo.
[00:49:18] She's talking to people and this Karen security guard is ushering her off the thing. And you hear Kelly Rowland saying like, get off my dress. Don't talk to me. You're not my mother. Don't talk to me like that. You are not my mother. Don't talk to me.
[00:49:34] Don't talk to me like that. I am not a child. I am not a child. And so there was just, it sent kind of like waves through the internet because it's like, whoa, like who the hell is Kelly Rowland cousin? Ow!
[00:49:47] And immediately it's like anyone that knows Kelly Rowland knows like this is not in character of Kelly Rowland. So there has to be something to it. So then we kind of watched the footage of like Kelly not even really being able to take
[00:50:02] the photo, she's being rushed off stage. And so then it kind of like makes headlines and then goes away. But then, and I believe the festival might be like two weekends or whatever. We see it happening to other people, an Asian actress, a Latina actress,
[00:50:18] where this lady is like ushering these people off the steps. And like the way that she is doing it is, and like I feel like from what we can see, it doesn't look that like egregious, but it looks like she's doing the most. But also I'm not there.
[00:50:35] So I can't hear what she is saying as well as her moving. And also like girl, why are you touching me? And then- Yeah, the Latina one, I forget the actress's name, but she had like her train of dress had this big image of Jesus on it.
[00:50:49] So she was trying to let it laid down on the steps so that photographers could get the shot, which is understandable. Like if that's the centerpiece of the dress, you want it to be seen, of course. And I'm on the damn steps. And I'm on the steps,
[00:51:01] but the usher, she just kept trying to push her up there. And eventually the actress had enough and actually pushed her off. So I don't know what that usher's problem is. Cause it definitely, I mean, especially with Kelly,
[00:51:15] like it seemed like as soon as Kelly got to the steps, she was being ushered all the way up. It's like, can I turn back? Can I wave? Can I talk to somebody real quick? And the usher's like stepping on her dress.
[00:51:27] She politely touches her arm and says, cause like you're on my dress, like get off my dress. And then I don't know what the usher's head's back, but that's when Kelly snaps in is like, do not talk to me like that. So clearly this usher has a problem
[00:51:42] and they need to be, I'm not saying you need to fire the woman, but maybe you need to reassign her to another part of the festival because this is just ridiculous. And Kelly does not just snap for no reason.
[00:51:54] We never hear nothing about Kelly doing nothing like this. The most recent report we ever got was like last year with the whole Today Show thing. And they kind of told on themselves about that because Hoda got on, like the next day it was like,
[00:52:06] oh, I would have shared my dressing room with Kelly. So when Kelly was like, it was about the state of the dressing room. I felt like it was disrespectful. They kind of did sound that. We don't know if it was the state of the dressing room.
[00:52:18] The rumors were that they were asking in the previous- Beyonce questions. Beyonce questions and they are already been said, but we don't know. But also what I thought was so funny was the like, I think next week she was at the Sherri Shepherd show
[00:52:30] and Sherri Shepherd's social media team made sure to get a clip of Sherri walking down the hallway and going into Kelly Rowland's dressing room and being like, you know, we won't hook you up girl, but- Wait, I didn't see that. Oh my God, you got to see it's,
[00:52:46] oh my God, yeah, Sherri Shepherd's IG team made sure to capture that. And then of course, after all this happens, thanks to the good journalistic work of the TikTokers, they show clips of other women this season at the Cannes Film Festival,
[00:53:10] getting their time to shine on the steps. And I forget the one lady, it's not Sarah Jessica Park, it's somebody, I forget somebody like big that we know. She got time to even get her mom on the steps to take photos.
[00:53:25] It was a montage of women that we saw getting these photos and I'll let you imagine what these women looked like. Yeah, I mean, Kelly said it herself when she was later interviewed. And I thought that her response was very, very classy. She didn't really go into it.
[00:53:45] She just said, I know what happened. The lady knows what happened. I have a boundary and I respect those boundaries. I do not play about those boundaries. And I feel like that my boundary was overstepped. And so I had to defend myself.
[00:53:56] And if you look at all the other women that were not being ushered away, they did not look like me. So yeah, that usher needs to be reassigned. She does. And again, it happens in France and I don't know if you've,
[00:54:11] I've been to Paris or no, it happened in, did it happen in Paris or? The what, the festival? Yeah. I don't know if it's in Paris. So I know- I think it's in Cannes. Like the Cannes is the name of the city. Okay, but it's in this,
[00:54:28] and the name of the country is, hold on, let me just think. France. France, okay. And so historically, they say France isn't the most, you know, for people of color to travel. So that's just what they say. So, you know, I don't know if this is like,
[00:54:53] you know, fitting or whatever. Have you ever seen, I have to say you did this TikTok. You may have seen it already. It went viral maybe a few months back. It was this, I believe he was black. I'm not sure. He was definitely a person of color,
[00:55:04] but basically he was like taking this, this video montage of Paris. And he was like, I don't know why people are trying to come over here. This place is shit. Yeah, yes, yes. It stinks, everything stinks. There's pigeons everywhere. I definitely saw that. That was funny.
[00:55:22] My dream was to eat him up in the comments, but no, that was funny. I didn't know exactly what you were talking about. Okay, let's move on. So Will Smith, Martin Lawrence are back on their movie campaign or movie trail of bad boys.
[00:55:39] I believe this is bad boys four. Yes, that they are promoting. They made it seem like at the end of bad boys three, that this was going to be the last and that like it was going to be a new emergence of bad boys.
[00:55:51] But obviously Martin Lawrence and Will Smith are back. It's kind of like Will Smith's first time promoting a movie since the Oscars. I've just seen a lot of, I've seen a lot of people being like, are we ready to accept Will Smith? Let that man do his thing.
[00:56:10] Please don't thank him. Come on, come on. It was horrible. We all acknowledged that it was horrible. He's apologized. There's nothing more that the man can do. What do you want him to do? Just be a recluse for the rest of his life over a slap?
[00:56:19] Come on, come on. Right, I have read that there is potentially a scene of or some type of remake of the slap in the movie. No way. I hope that's not true. I really hope that's not true because I don't think that's the way to go.
[00:56:37] You maybe want, maybe you want to lean into it but lean into it with humility and being apologetic not trying to make light of it. That's a misstep if there ever is one. So we'll have to see. But so they are out doing their promotion
[00:56:52] of the movie in the United States overseas. And the glaring thing that has been talked about the most is Martin Lawrence's appearance. There are, now I'm actually, when he's sitting down and talking, he appears fine but there are multiple clips.
[00:57:13] I think that one point of time they were like on a float and Will Smith is visibly kind of like holding Martin to get up to the float. And then it takes a couple of seconds for Martin to like get adjusted to where he's at.
[00:57:28] And then has just movements seem very off. There was another one where they are like, I don't know in front of this press somewhere. And it's obviously like taking photos and doing stuff. And it's not that like Martin Lawrence is not there.
[00:57:42] It just is that there seems like there is some type of like cognitive delay that we are witnessing. Now there were reports that a couple of years ago Martin did suffer a minor stroke. And if anyone that has had a stroke in your family
[00:58:01] like it definitely affects a lot of abilities that people don't often talk about, right? Like you see people recover from strokes but like there are sometimes the way they walk the way they talk, they have to learn speech again. And so there's just been a lot of talk
[00:58:21] about Martin Lawrence's appearance. Also when I was seeing the story I just thought it was kind of crazy. It was like, I can't believe Martin Lawrence is almost 60. Yeah, that's crazy. Like I feel like I grew up with him, like watching him and he still looks good.
[00:58:38] Both of them look good. They look great but it's just crazy like growing up watching Martin Gina and like, you know, Martin was just this full of life big character and like, yeah, just again like when we're talking earlier seems like we look down and it's June.
[00:59:00] We look back up as Christmas, like time just is one of the crazy. It don't be playing around. It does not play around. And so it's just so crazy to think of like, you know just seeing someone like a Martin
[00:59:12] and then I don't know why like it hits so close to home because like who the hell is a Martin to me? But again, I've watched his show every Thursday night. I mean, how many times have I called him? There's such huge parts of our lives.
[00:59:22] Like I know that people get on a lot like especially people that are chronically online which I think, you know is definitely something that people should work on. But I feel like there's like this dialogue that I always see about people being so harsh
[00:59:34] about like people having like sort of like parasocial relationships with celebrities actors, musicians, whoever it is and pathologizing it, right? Like making it seem like it's something that you need to feel bad about. But like, no, like these people like yes, obviously you don't want to overstep
[00:59:51] but these people literally they make the soundtracks of our lives. They make these movies that we fall in love with. They have these TV shows that we would watch every day and be comforted by. And we associate those shows with parts of our lives, memories
[01:00:05] like so celebrities in a lot of ways, they, yeah like when you watch them get older you're like, oh damn it's it reminds you of your own mortality. Like I think that all the time like we, you know, growing up, you know, young
[01:00:18] you know, a lot of the people that we grew up watching were also sort of on the younger side. And now we're starting to get into that point of our lives where we're going to start losing a lot of our icons and that's kind of sad.
[01:00:30] So, I mean, I think that people getting, you know upset or wondering whether or not something was wrong with him. I think that's a perfectly natural response to have apparently he cleared up the rumors on a radio interview show with Will Smith
[01:00:45] at some point and saying, I'm healthy. I'm fine. Stop the rumors. Like I was, I'm perfectly okay. I don't necessarily know if I believe that but if he doesn't want to share anything right now then he doesn't have to. So it is what it is.
[01:00:57] It just does, like, and again, I've seen the clips I didn't think anything of it. And then when I saw them resurfacing and now I'm looking at it with a different eye I'm like, well, yeah, he does look a little like whatever, but then also like he's almost 60.
[01:01:08] Right? You know, like it's just, again I think that you said it perfectly. Just kind of reminds us of our own mortality. And that the one thing that is certain is that everyone is going to die. And I think that, but that's okay.
[01:01:22] Like that's a part of life, right? Like, and I think that like, again in this month of pride, right? Where it's like, I think that that's important to remember is that like we are not going to be here forever. Time is important.
[01:01:36] Making the most of your life, not having regrets treating people with kindness, I think is important. And I think that that's just something interesting which made me reflect. And I was like, yeah we should talk about this on the casualty.
[01:01:54] Now the last topic that I have for us, ciao, ciao, ciao. I started off this podcast by saying me as a black queer man like I love to be in black queer spaces. And I think that black queer says sometimes respectfully black people be doing the most, okay?
[01:02:24] Doing the most. So there is this viral clip going around of this Michigan judge and he is holding court and it seems like the person that he that court hearing is, he can't physically make it into the courtroom. So the courtroom is being held via Zoom.
[01:02:45] So the judge is in the courtroom. We see him on camera. We see the person, I think believe his name is Corey Harris. We see his lawyer and we see Corey Harris appear on our screen. And the Michigan judge, he says, hey, like are you stationary?
[01:03:05] Mr. Harris is driving. He says, I'm getting ready to park the car. I'm getting ready to park the car. I'm at my doctor's appointment. He then says, I'm ready. Let's go judge. So then the judge asked the lawyer like how we moving forward?
[01:03:22] I guess the lawyer is saying we are asking for a continuance or something for Mr. Harris to get something done. And as the lawyer is talking, Mr. Harris begins to kind of read his docket and read the sheet. And he then asked the lawyer,
[01:03:39] this is a case over a suspended license, correct? And the lawyer's like, yes. And then the judge then turns to Mr. Harris and says like, but you were just driving. Like you just held the court up because you were driving. And the guy's face, Corey's face drops.
[01:04:08] Like he's just frozen. And the judge is just like, I'm just confused because it's like you have no license. Like you're driving with no license. This is what this case is about. And y'all asking for a thing. Baby, the judge revoked the bond
[01:04:22] and let Corey Harris know that you've got- You might as well keep on driving down here. You got until 6 p.m. to turn yourself in to your local precinct because I'm revoking your bond. And so that just hit the internet by storm.
[01:04:42] And it is just the guy's face being like, but the story does not end there. He then after he turned himself in, he then was released, but he had another court hearing. And in the court hearing, the Michigan judge,
[01:05:02] now mind you this is an older black man judge. And mind you, he has had so many other viral clips, but the judge also is letting them know what this hearing like. Yeah, this is- So essentially he got released because they suspended his license
[01:05:21] over like unpaid child support. However, there was an alleged clerical error that like the- There was a legit clerical error where like he was up to date with his license. So like it should have never been suspended in the first place, right?
[01:05:39] So they're at this court hearing and like, they're trying to like clear all of this up. Like listen, like well, the license was suspended because of like this clerical error that said that like he owed child support, but he doesn't owe child support.
[01:05:49] So like, okay, they're like, okay, we get to it. Bay Bay, then the judge, do you know this part of mine? I don't know this part. I'm listening so closely. Then the judge says, sir, there was no clerical error. In the state of Michigan,
[01:06:09] there is no record of you having a driver's license. If any of the four other states that you have been registered to live in, you don't have a driver's license. This man don't have a driver's license. So wait a second. Girl, yes. Yes.
[01:06:27] How did he get suspended to begin with if he didn't have one? I'm so confused. I think in most jurisdictions, in most states, most counties, when you have like overdue child support, like you're not paying your child support, like I think a lot of the steps
[01:06:45] in order for them to get you to pay before you get to like them issuing you a bench warrant is they take away certain things. And so I think one of the first steps is to like suspend your driver's license.
[01:06:56] So I think in this case, what happened was that was the first step. They just suspended a driver's license because that's what they normally do. And so they just on record said that his driver's license was suspended. But baby, there was no driver's license to suspend
[01:07:14] because this man has no driver's license. Now he has this new attorney. They're trying to like, you know, do all the things, they're trying to do all the things to like, because this case has gone so viral, they're trying to do all of the things
[01:07:31] and they're trying to say all these things that were wrong. Baby, you can't say any of the things that was wrong because regardless of anything, you was driving without a license. It says, okay, so I'm looking at this USA Today article.
[01:07:44] Oh my God, I didn't know that this story was this extensive. It says, how is Corey Harris able to be arrested for driving with a suspended license but not have a license? When a person is arrested or charged with driving with a suspended license in Michigan,
[01:07:56] their driving privilege is what's being suspended, Benander told USA Today. In Michigan, you can have a Secretary of State driving record that can have a suspended status whether you have a driver's license or not, she said. The suspended status is what's reflected
[01:08:07] in Harris' driving record, according to Benander. Although Harris provided his proof of reinstatement to the Secretary of State's office, it only means the suspended status is lifted and now he'll have to try for his actual driver's license in his ghetto. Ciao.
[01:08:26] And so with all of that, you will pull up to your hearing because here's the thing, Corey, you know you don't have a license, right? Like I can remember the day I took my permanent test, like I took my driving, like you know what I mean?
[01:08:42] Like sir, so did you think because your driver's status got suspended that you're like, oh, okay, well I must be, I must be her. I must have a license then. I must have a license. Somebody put a license in for me, it's suspended. Like what?
[01:08:57] And I'm pretty sure he probably like has a state issued ID and I don't know if you've ever seen a state issue ID that's just a state issue ID because normally when you see somebody with an ID that's over 30, like you just assume that it's the driver's license.
[01:09:10] Right. Ciao. The ID, at least the IDs in Pennsylvania I think are still vertical and then the driver's license are horizontal. I think that at least that's how it used to be. I don't know if this is still the same thing. But that's crazy.
[01:09:22] I mean you're 44 years old. Okay. How did you go this long without getting a license? It's not like you live in like New York City or something because there's plenty of adults that don't have licenses in New York City but you're in New York City.
[01:09:31] You're in Michigan, you got to drive. So what were you doing? It is just the audacity of this man to one be late for your hearing about your suspended status of your driving ability but for you to show up on Zoom not even part. Why?
[01:09:53] Why wouldn't you just turn the camera off? Turn the camera off or just before you hop on the Zoom. Change the background. Change the background or park the car wherever you are like get into a parking lot because I think he was supposed
[01:10:09] he allegedly was driving his wife to a doctor's appointment so why don't you just park the car, switch seats and have her drive or at least pretend to drive. Why would you get on camera for a suspended license hearing driving? It is just when I rewatched this video
[01:10:31] it's just seeing the moving objects in the background from me and it's seeing the judge's face. And then the judge looks down, he reads the paper and then it's just like, sir. And I love this judge because it's like he's not even trying to be a dick.
[01:10:52] He's just like, it's the audacity for me. Like you can't connect one plus one to get to two. He literally was like, I'm pulling in right now. Right, I'm pulling in. Pulling in with you baby. And then he's like, I'm... Okay your honor.
[01:11:13] Like it's the inflection in his voice. It's like, your ass needs to go to jail. He may sit his ass in jail for two days. And he should, he should. He absolutely should. He said, Mr. Harris are you driving? He said, I'm pulling into the parking lot
[01:11:39] so you're driving. The judge was setting him up. Are you driving? No, I'm parking. The judge was setting him up the whole time. Oh my God, just ridiculous. Well, I hope he learns his damn lesson and I hope that he finally sits down for his damn test.
[01:11:58] I mean, you've been driving this long. You should pass it by now. You should. A mess. But that is all the topics that we have this month for Casualty. Fingers crossed. We'll be back in July. But we'll be back before the end of the summer.
[01:12:21] I can promise you that. I try to tie down a mind for a July Casualty. But before we go- We're already making this camping trip happen. So we're, oh yeah. And we're gonna vlog. We're like, we would, oh my God. The camping trip is happening
[01:12:37] and we're gonna vlog about it. Okay, we're gonna do something of a something of a something. Cause y'all gonna see it happen cause y'all are gonna hold us accountable. Before we go, Amon, what you got over there cooking.
[01:12:48] I know Big Brother is getting ready to come on up. Are we getting ready to go into the Amon era of not washing, not brushing his teeth, washing the live feeds? I do wanna know like, what do you have coming up? And I also wanna know your thoughts
[01:13:04] on this Big Brother season. Cause I feel like we just have to talk about Big Brother a little bit cause that's the inception of the Casualty was kinda about Big Brother. But you know, we've expanded. We've grown, we've matured. I am excited.
[01:13:19] I sort of, I feel like I've taken such a longer break in terms of Big Brother because usually, you know we have Big Brother Canada in the early spring and we did have another season, but as y'all know, the live feeds were axed.
[01:13:33] And so I just feel like I haven't really been as engaged with Big Brother for a long period of time. So I feel like I've gotten a nice break and I'm really excited. Unfortunately, we did get the news about Big Brother Canada also getting suspended.
[01:13:43] They haven't said it's canceled yet, but essentially it's been removed from the schedule. So we don't know what's gonna happen with Big Brother Canada. You know, this happened before a few years back and Rob Sestrino was instrumental in getting the fan base together
[01:14:00] to put together a petition to get the show back on the air and it worked. They put the show back on the air. This time I feel like a lot of people have less of a want to do that
[01:14:07] because a lot of the viewers are still very upset about the fact that the show is just not the show anymore without the live feeds. So the only person that I really feel bad for or people rather are like all of the former contestants
[01:14:19] of the show that don't really, they're not gonna have like a bit of a, their show is gone. Like where's their legacy? You know what I mean? And of course we all love Arisa and we love seeing her on our TV screen.
[01:14:29] She's one of the best parts of the show. So I feel bad for her. I'm sure I doubt that she wanted this to happen. And I feel bad for all the Canadians that started off as such huge fans of the American franchise
[01:14:40] and finally get their own franchise like a decade ago and now it's gone. So like now you don't get a dream of being on Big Brother anymore. Although I guess there is still always Survivor. So yeah, that's very sad. But yes, Big Brother 26 is approaching.
[01:14:53] I'm super excited to get into like the cast and be back in my summer vibes of just watching the live feeds every day, plan on being a little bit more present on social media this year. I feel like I was kind of like in and out last year
[01:15:09] because there was like a lot going on last summer. So I'm excited, I'm very excited. And I'm hopeful for like an entirely new cast, no stunt casting. We loved watching Suri last year, but when stuff like that happens, it does sort of tend to revolve around that person.
[01:15:23] And so I'm just excited to get an entirely new cast of people and talk about it all summer long here on RHEP. I'm also covering Rupaul's Drag Race All-Star Season 9 with Leona and Beth. We are now on the fifth episode, I believe.
[01:15:37] So you should be expecting that as well. And that is about it for me. Oh, I also have, I am venturing out back into the land of Twitch. I have put together a group of friends, none of which I think any of the RHEP listeners
[01:15:52] would know they're not podcasters. But we got together and we put together this team called Forfit because there are four of us. So we spell it with the number four, the letter four rather, or number four, no. Yeah, number not the letter, oh my God.
[01:16:03] And we have been playing games like every Sunday over on our Twitch. So you can follow us at Forfit Gaming. Again, it's spelled F-O-U-R-F-E-I-T Gaming. And we do that every week too. So check us out over there. And that's it. Yes, love it, love it, love it.
[01:16:21] Thank you for listening and we will be back soon with another edition, but this has been your June casual. Casualty. After the break, we will be back. We will be back. We will be back. And we will be back. Thank y'all so much for joining us.
[01:16:36] If you enjoyed this video, feel free to like and subscribe. If you didn't like it, feel free to click on the thumbs up button and the little bell icon down below. And we will see you next week. Bye bye. Bye bye. Pants, yes, and purple pants.
