Will Tony Vlachos Win The Traitors?

Today, Rob Cesternino, Pooya, and special guest, Shannon Guss, discuss Survivor TWO-TIME winner, Tony Vlachos.

[00:00:00] [SPEAKER_02]: Hey everybody, what's going on? Rob Cesternino back with you for another one of our Traders pre-season podcasts.

[00:00:09] [SPEAKER_02]: Very excited to be back here in the turret with Mr. Traders, Puyo Zavikili. Puyo, how are you?

[00:00:15] [SPEAKER_03]: I am doing great, Rob. Happy that we're doing this. This series is going to be so much fun for everybody.

[00:00:22] [SPEAKER_03]: And listen, we're riding a high right now. The season's very close.

[00:00:26] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, we're just on the other side of the holidays and the New Years and January 9th will be the premiere of Traders Season 3.

[00:00:34] [SPEAKER_02]: And today we're gonna be talking about one of the Survivor players that...

[00:00:38] [SPEAKER_02]: How much excitement is there about this man returning to our televisions?

[00:00:47] [SPEAKER_02]: And here with us to talk about it all is the great Shannon Goss.

[00:00:55] [SPEAKER_02]: Shannon, how are you?

[00:00:57] [SPEAKER_00]: Rob Cesternino, I'm great. Thank you for having me.

[00:01:00] [SPEAKER_02]: I needed this.

[00:01:01] [SPEAKER_02]: Ooh. Ooh.

[00:01:03] [SPEAKER_02]: Yes!

[00:01:05] [SPEAKER_00]: Ooh.

[00:01:09] [SPEAKER_01]: Ooh.

[00:01:15] [SPEAKER_02]: Yes!

[00:01:16] [SPEAKER_00]: It's a long sound clip. I remember where I was when this sound clip was...

[00:01:20] [SPEAKER_00]: This was a voicemail. At the time it was a voicemail.

[00:01:22] [SPEAKER_00]: But I think Nicole...

[00:01:24] [SPEAKER_02]: Mm-hmm.

[00:01:24] [SPEAKER_00]: Early, early on...

[00:01:26] [SPEAKER_00]: It was the premiere of Survivor Kageyan.

[00:01:30] [SPEAKER_00]: In 2014, well over 10 years ago at this point.

[00:01:33] [SPEAKER_00]: And I remember where I was driving listening to you guys talk about that sound clip.

[00:01:37] [SPEAKER_00]: Okay.

[00:01:37] [SPEAKER_00]: That's where we're at with Tony.

[00:01:38] [SPEAKER_02]: And that was the first time Tony was ever on our TVs.

[00:01:41] [SPEAKER_02]: Fast forward to...

[00:01:43] [SPEAKER_02]: Through Kageyan.

[00:01:45] [SPEAKER_02]: Stop it, Game Changers.

[00:01:46] [SPEAKER_02]: Through Winners at War.

[00:01:48] [SPEAKER_02]: And now here we are.

[00:01:49] [SPEAKER_02]: Tony in a castle!

[00:01:51] [SPEAKER_00]: Yes, as he should be.

[00:01:53] [SPEAKER_00]: The king, right?

[00:01:54] [SPEAKER_00]: Coming back to the castle where he should be.

[00:01:56] [SPEAKER_02]: Okay.

[00:01:56] [SPEAKER_02]: And so here he is.

[00:01:58] [SPEAKER_02]: One of the faces of Survivor Mount Rushmore is here on the trailer.

[00:02:02] [SPEAKER_02]: Actually, I think two of them are.

[00:02:03] [SPEAKER_02]: But all right.

[00:02:04] [SPEAKER_02]: So, Shannon, first of all, how are you doing today?

[00:02:07] [SPEAKER_00]: I'm great.

[00:02:08] [SPEAKER_00]: I'm always happy to talk about Tony.

[00:02:09] [SPEAKER_00]: I love Tony so much.

[00:02:10] [SPEAKER_00]: Every single time that I talk about Tony, I just...

[00:02:12] [SPEAKER_00]: I feel that even more.

[00:02:15] [SPEAKER_00]: And, yeah, I mean, we did.

[00:02:16] [SPEAKER_00]: I stand Kageyan and I just talked for hours about...

[00:02:19] [SPEAKER_00]: They were like, please get off the call.

[00:02:20] [SPEAKER_00]: I was like, one more thing about Tony, which I think everyone can believe.

[00:02:23] [SPEAKER_00]: And so I'm always happy to talk about Tony.

[00:02:26] [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.

[00:02:26] [SPEAKER_02]: For more about us talking about Tony, check out the I Stand Kageyan documentary that we did earlier this fall.

[00:02:31] [SPEAKER_02]: I stand Kageyan.com for that.

[00:02:34] [SPEAKER_02]: But what's your history with Tony?

[00:02:37] [SPEAKER_03]: Well, what's interesting is that Kageyan was the season where I started watching the show live proper.

[00:02:45] [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.

[00:02:46] [SPEAKER_03]: Up until that summer, right when Kageyan was airing is when I reignited my love for Survivor and started watching the older seasons in between the live episodes.

[00:02:56] [SPEAKER_03]: And that's also the same time I found RHAP.

[00:02:58] [SPEAKER_03]: So Kageyan, Survivor Pods are the first pods I listened to.

[00:03:02] [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.

[00:03:03] [SPEAKER_00]: I have a similar story to that.

[00:03:04] [SPEAKER_00]: Well, I mean, I was always watching live, but I became a super fan during like...

[00:03:09] [SPEAKER_00]: I was getting into it during like 26 and 27.

[00:03:12] [SPEAKER_00]: And then during Kageyan was when I started full-time work.

[00:03:15] [SPEAKER_00]: Now I'm really dating myself.

[00:03:16] [SPEAKER_00]: Like I made the merge or something.

[00:03:17] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.

[00:03:18] [SPEAKER_00]: And that was when like, I didn't miss like any Kageyan podcast.

[00:03:21] [SPEAKER_00]: From there, like I was all in.

[00:03:22] [SPEAKER_00]: So I always feel like I came out of that season as such a super fan.

[00:03:25] [SPEAKER_00]: And I have so much to owe, obviously at RHAP, but also to Tony for that.

[00:03:28] [SPEAKER_00]: So I think we all, especially like the fans I got in during what I feel was kind of a golden era of the late 20s into the early 30s, with some notable exceptions.

[00:03:37] [SPEAKER_00]: But yeah, that kind of golden age, I think a lot of us like millennial fans feel connected to.

[00:03:42] [SPEAKER_02]: Okay. So we're here.

[00:03:43] [SPEAKER_02]: Tony is going to be on the traders.

[00:03:47] [SPEAKER_02]: Shannon, is Tony a good fit for the traders?

[00:03:52] [SPEAKER_02]: For both Tony and the traders?

[00:03:56] [SPEAKER_00]: Yes.

[00:03:57] [SPEAKER_00]: Yes.

[00:03:57] [SPEAKER_00]: I mean, Tony should be on all TV shows.

[00:03:58] [SPEAKER_00]: He's been so reclusive to someone who is TV gold.

[00:04:02] [SPEAKER_00]: Yes.

[00:04:03] [SPEAKER_00]: And always entertaining.

[00:04:05] [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.

[00:04:05] [SPEAKER_02]: Can I just stop down on that?

[00:04:06] [SPEAKER_02]: That is a good point.

[00:04:07] [SPEAKER_02]: Tony is a very interesting reality star that there are times that it is either Tony season and Tony is omnipresent or it's not Tony season.

[00:04:24] [SPEAKER_02]: And we see neither hide nor hair of him.

[00:04:28] [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah. To the point where for me, I have always thought when it's we're off Tony season, I'm like, okay, he's done with us.

[00:04:36] [SPEAKER_03]: He doesn't want to never see him again.

[00:04:38] [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.

[00:04:38] [SPEAKER_03]: But then when he reappears, it's like he never left and he gives it his all the energy that can like he gives that same energy like he loves it.

[00:04:48] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.

[00:04:49] [SPEAKER_02]: I'm Chad.

[00:04:50] [SPEAKER_02]: After Winners at War, I did a great interview with Tony, you know, three or four hours after the season was over, like maybe like a week or so after the end of the season.

[00:05:02] [SPEAKER_02]: And that's still continues to do, you know, thousands of downloads up on the YouTube channel.

[00:05:08] [SPEAKER_02]: And then I got off the call with Tony that day.

[00:05:11] [SPEAKER_02]: And then I said, you know what?

[00:05:12] [SPEAKER_02]: I think that's it.

[00:05:13] [SPEAKER_02]: I think I'll probably never hear from Tony ever again in my life.

[00:05:15] [SPEAKER_02]: And a couple of like maybe a week or so, like a few or a few weeks after that, he sent me a video of him on a jet ski.

[00:05:23] [SPEAKER_02]: I said, wow.

[00:05:24] [SPEAKER_00]: Okay.

[00:05:24] [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.

[00:05:25] [SPEAKER_02]: Like that's probably the last I'm ever going to see of Tony ever again.

[00:05:28] [SPEAKER_02]: What did he say?

[00:05:29] [SPEAKER_00]: What did he say on the jet ski?

[00:05:30] [SPEAKER_02]: Woo!

[00:05:32] [SPEAKER_00]: Woo?

[00:05:32] [SPEAKER_00]: Like the person that he beat?

[00:05:34] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.

[00:05:34] [SPEAKER_00]: Was he also like Spencer?

[00:05:35] [SPEAKER_00]: But he's back baby.

[00:05:37] [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.

[00:05:38] [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.

[00:05:38] [SPEAKER_00]: Twice in 2025.

[00:05:39] [SPEAKER_00]: I'm super excited.

[00:05:40] [SPEAKER_00]: He's also been announced as being on Australia versus the world.

[00:05:42] [SPEAKER_02]: I forget about that sometimes too.

[00:05:43] [SPEAKER_00]: Having the Tony Renaissance, which is amazing for Tony fans because yeah, I mean, how will he fit into the Traders castle?

[00:05:51] [SPEAKER_00]: I don't know how he'll find a ladder.

[00:05:52] [SPEAKER_00]: I think that, you know, he might be like tearing up the set a little bit, but all TV shows should put Tony on like he's, he's, I've always said like the best player character for me and like all I've watched of like reality TV.

[00:06:06] [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.

[00:06:06] [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.

[00:06:06] [SPEAKER_00]: The unicorn.

[00:06:07] [SPEAKER_00]: Okay.

[00:06:07] [SPEAKER_02]: Okay.

[00:06:09] [SPEAKER_02]: So Shannon, how do you think Tony's going to do at the game of the Traders?

[00:06:14] [SPEAKER_00]: I don't know.

[00:06:14] [SPEAKER_00]: I mean, I kind of want to come in underestimating Tony, but would that be foolish?

[00:06:18] [SPEAKER_03]: Mm-hmm.

[00:06:19] [SPEAKER_03]: Um, when you say that, do you mean his abilities or his, like how he's going to gel with the rest of the cast?

[00:06:26] [SPEAKER_00]: I think I, if I was on the Traders, I would assume that someone like Tony is a trader.

[00:06:32] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.

[00:06:32] [SPEAKER_00]: Even if he's not, and he might come across as very suspicious.

[00:06:36] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.

[00:06:36] [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.

[00:06:37] [SPEAKER_02]: I think both of the things are, are potentially, uh, not ideal for Tony and he's going to have to rely on his social game like he did in winners at war to help him, uh, make it for a bit.

[00:06:50] [SPEAKER_02]: Now, Pooja, that, uh, famously, uh, Tony is a police officer, uh, and I'm sure in your many seasons of covering Traders around the world, uh, have experienced people in law enforcement on the Traders.

[00:07:06] [SPEAKER_02]: How has that gone?

[00:07:08] [SPEAKER_03]: Um, well, off recency, I can tell you not great.

[00:07:12] [SPEAKER_03]: Uh, the track record has not landed the best, but I do think that also it's not because they're known for their profession.

[00:07:20] [SPEAKER_03]: If anything, typically someone that comes in from that background will try and hide their profession because they think it'll look too threatening as in like, oh, I can do detective work or I can, I'll be sussing people out.

[00:07:31] [SPEAKER_03]: So they'll typically try and like bury that.

[00:07:33] [SPEAKER_02]: What if Tony tells people that, uh, he's not a police officer?

[00:07:36] [SPEAKER_02]: What if he's just says like, he's a construction worker?

[00:07:39] [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.

[00:07:39] [SPEAKER_00]: What do they say that people are always stealing your tools?

[00:07:42] [SPEAKER_00]: It's rough out there for a construction worker.

[00:07:44] [SPEAKER_00]: That is the whole story.

[00:07:45] [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.

[00:07:45] [SPEAKER_00]: I mean, look, the, the, the, the.

[00:07:47] [SPEAKER_00]: I have a tattoo.

[00:07:48] [SPEAKER_00]: I can't be a cop.

[00:07:49] [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.

[00:07:51] [SPEAKER_00]: The, the profession I think is like the least of Tony's worries.

[00:07:54] [SPEAKER_00]: I think what we, what's missing is this is the first time that Tony has played anything since being Tony, the two times survivor winner.

[00:08:01] [SPEAKER_00]: Right.

[00:08:01] [SPEAKER_00]: Like he comes on Kageyan and he's kind of ridiculous and no one likes he's a coming till it happens.

[00:08:05] [SPEAKER_00]: And then he's won.

[00:08:06] [SPEAKER_00]: Then he goes on game changes and that went how it went.

[00:08:08] [SPEAKER_00]: Then he comes back with winners at war.

[00:08:09] [SPEAKER_00]: And a lot of what he used to win as a war was like Kageyan was the anomaly.

[00:08:13] [SPEAKER_00]: I am game changes, Tony.

[00:08:20] [SPEAKER_00]: He's a two times survivor winner.

[00:08:22] [SPEAKER_00]: Tony is a two times.

[00:08:23] [SPEAKER_00]: He's a two times usually dominant survivor winner across two seasons of a winning game.

[00:08:26] [SPEAKER_00]: Who has been out of the loop once, maybe underneath single handedly playing an idol to take out Sandra.

[00:08:32] [SPEAKER_00]: Otherwise completely in the know on everything.

[00:08:34] [SPEAKER_00]: The anomaly is game changes.

[00:08:36] [SPEAKER_00]: Anyone coming in who's watched any of survivor should know what Tony's about.

[00:08:40] [SPEAKER_00]: And that should be very threatening to them, but he's also the player who did that.

[00:08:43] [SPEAKER_00]: So maybe he can overcome it, but yeah, he's now playing as, as Tony, the two time winner.

[00:08:47] [SPEAKER_00]: And we have not seen that yet.

[00:08:49] [SPEAKER_00]: We saw Sandra do that in game changes and she was incredibly threatening.

[00:08:52] [SPEAKER_02]: So Tony, the faithful, I feel like could potentially be a little overbearing with his accusations of,

[00:09:01] [SPEAKER_02]: and I don't know how much he's studied this particular show, but Pouya, like I could see a scenario

[00:09:08] [SPEAKER_02]: where that Tony is on the hunt for the traitors and maybe you rub some people the wrong way.

[00:09:19] [SPEAKER_03]: I think that's entirely possible.

[00:09:21] [SPEAKER_03]: I also think that immediately my gut instinct is to think, okay, he's going to be looking suspicious and they're going to,

[00:09:28] [SPEAKER_03]: he's going to pay for it.

[00:09:29] [SPEAKER_03]: They're going to banish him.

[00:09:31] [SPEAKER_03]: But Rob, the other side of that coin.

[00:09:32] [SPEAKER_02]: When he's hiding under one of the rugs in the castle and they catch him.

[00:09:36] [SPEAKER_03]: Well, depends who they are, Rob.

[00:09:38] [SPEAKER_03]: I think that's the big thing because I do think there's another side of the coin to investigate.

[00:09:41] [SPEAKER_03]: Put in the suit of armor.

[00:09:44] [SPEAKER_00]: Yes.

[00:09:44] [SPEAKER_00]: I was going to ask, where is the spy shacket?

[00:09:47] [SPEAKER_00]: That is brilliant.

[00:09:49] [SPEAKER_00]: Oh my God.

[00:09:49] [SPEAKER_00]: If you see the armor move, oh, I will pay money.

[00:09:52] [SPEAKER_03]: I just like the idea that they zoom into the eyes.

[00:09:55] [SPEAKER_00]: And the eyes are shifting.

[00:09:57] [SPEAKER_00]: That's amazing.

[00:09:58] [SPEAKER_02]: Like a Scooby-Doo cartoon.

[00:10:00] [SPEAKER_02]: Exactly.

[00:10:01] [SPEAKER_00]: Oh my God.

[00:10:02] [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.

[00:10:02] [SPEAKER_00]: Can we, can we, can we come up with like a top five traitors castle spy shack spots?

[00:10:06] [SPEAKER_02]: I think he's gonna, and then we can just, he's in the moat.

[00:10:11] [SPEAKER_02]: Moat shack?

[00:10:12] [SPEAKER_02]: He's under the table at breakfast.

[00:10:15] [SPEAKER_03]: That's a good spot.

[00:10:16] [SPEAKER_03]: Behind the curtain.

[00:10:17] [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.

[00:10:18] [SPEAKER_03]: At breakfast.

[00:10:18] [SPEAKER_03]: It's another one.

[00:10:20] [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.

[00:10:20] [SPEAKER_00]: Okay.

[00:10:21] [SPEAKER_00]: These are all, there's so many good spots.

[00:10:23] [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.

[00:10:23] [SPEAKER_00]: Under a rug.

[00:10:24] [SPEAKER_00]: I think that that one, there have to be trap doors in this castle.

[00:10:27] [SPEAKER_02]: He's in the trunk of the car going to the mission.

[00:10:30] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.

[00:10:31] [SPEAKER_03]: If there ever was a secret, one of those secret bookcases that you pull the book, he's going to find it.

[00:10:38] [SPEAKER_03]: Ryan Lochte was looking for it, Pooja.

[00:10:40] [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.

[00:10:40] [SPEAKER_03]: And let me tell you, it's where Tony is at.

[00:10:43] [SPEAKER_03]: Tony's going to find it.

[00:10:44] [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.

[00:10:44] [SPEAKER_00]: Maybe he's just in the bookcase.

[00:10:45] [SPEAKER_00]: If it's not there, then just like up against the books.

[00:10:48] [SPEAKER_03]: Rob, I forgot Ryan Lochte was on the show.

[00:10:50] [SPEAKER_03]: So you just said his name.

[00:10:51] [SPEAKER_02]: So that's the bad scenario for Tony the faithful.

[00:10:55] [SPEAKER_02]: And then Tony the traitor, like I think that people could throw him up very early and say like, hey, I think Tony's one of the traitors.

[00:11:05] [SPEAKER_00]: I can't even imagine Tony being a faithful.

[00:11:08] [SPEAKER_00]: It just would be so different to the way that he's played survivor.

[00:11:12] [SPEAKER_00]: You know, he's always got like a plan.

[00:11:15] [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.

[00:11:15] [SPEAKER_00]: And then I think people would just accuse him of being a traitor anyway, just out of just like innate suspiciousness.

[00:11:20] [SPEAKER_03]: Well, what I wanted to ask you, Shannon, is that we were thinking about this and we will be having discussions throughout these profiles that we do.

[00:11:30] [SPEAKER_03]: But a lot of the conversation about, OK, if there is a survivor cast member that is a traitor, who would it be?

[00:11:36] [SPEAKER_03]: And I think a lot of us have landed on two names.

[00:11:39] [SPEAKER_03]: It's either Tony or it's Rob.

[00:11:41] [SPEAKER_03]: Now, who do you think of the two is more likely to be in that spot?

[00:11:45] [SPEAKER_00]: I think that they should make it Tony from an entertainment perspective.

[00:11:50] [SPEAKER_00]: I just think I mean, again, we're seeing like he could smile on people like he's going to be fun, I think, regardless.

[00:11:54] [SPEAKER_00]: But like, I think that he would be a really fun traitor.

[00:11:57] [SPEAKER_00]: And I think, again, if people are going to think he's a traitor anyway, like just like let's see him try to get away with it.

[00:12:02] [SPEAKER_00]: But Rob is like, I think, a bigger name and a bigger name for casuals or people who kind of half know about survivor.

[00:12:08] [SPEAKER_00]: So I don't know you.

[00:12:09] [SPEAKER_00]: You're the traitor expert.

[00:12:10] [SPEAKER_00]: What would they lean towards?

[00:12:12] [SPEAKER_03]: I feel like off name recognition, it'll be Rob.

[00:12:15] [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.

[00:12:16] [SPEAKER_03]: And I think because here's my thing.

[00:12:17] [SPEAKER_03]: I think Tony is someone who is to what Rob has said.

[00:12:20] [SPEAKER_03]: He's going to have so much energy.

[00:12:21] [SPEAKER_03]: He's going to be doing a lot.

[00:12:23] [SPEAKER_03]: And I think that he's going to have that traitor suspicion on him regardless.

[00:12:28] [SPEAKER_03]: And quite frankly, I think that if you close your eyes and you picture a banishment where Tony gets up and has to reveal he's a faithful versus Rob getting up and saying he's a faithful.

[00:12:37] [SPEAKER_03]: You get the more entertaining exit from Tony nine times out of ten in that situation.

[00:12:41] [SPEAKER_03]: So I think and and also I think that Tony kind of looking suspicious might have better odds of being kept in because the traitors are like, well, they all think it's him.

[00:12:52] [SPEAKER_03]: He's going to go out anyway.

[00:12:53] [SPEAKER_03]: And I think that he'll have more longevity there.

[00:12:56] [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.

[00:12:57] [SPEAKER_00]: And he probably will be able to talk himself out of going immediately in his like, how did you do that Tony way?

[00:13:02] [SPEAKER_00]: So I think that makes sense.

[00:13:03] [SPEAKER_00]: I mean, it is kind of concerning that the players can talk through the matter of this.

[00:13:06] [SPEAKER_00]: So probably accurately, it's like there's probably going to be one survivor player.

[00:13:11] [SPEAKER_00]: Who would they do and probably be right?

[00:13:13] [SPEAKER_03]: That's the thing.

[00:13:14] [SPEAKER_03]: This is season three only.

[00:13:15] [SPEAKER_03]: So I feel like we are one more season away from there being a clear meta ruins the game.

[00:13:21] [SPEAKER_03]: And by that, I don't mean ruins it, but like people will gamify it.

[00:13:24] [SPEAKER_03]: So if they do go with a survivor again this season, I feel bad for whoever's on season four survivor because you're getting picked off.

[00:13:30] [SPEAKER_02]: Well, do you think that they will do a survivor and a big brother person again?

[00:13:35] [SPEAKER_02]: Pooja?

[00:13:35] [SPEAKER_03]: Well, the way it worked out last time, Rob, is they actually didn't go survivor.

[00:13:40] [SPEAKER_03]: Right.

[00:13:41] [SPEAKER_03]: They went big brother and then they recruited Parv as their choice.

[00:13:44] [SPEAKER_02]: I think it's going to be certainly one of the six CBS reality people will be a traitor.

[00:13:50] [SPEAKER_03]: I co-sign that.

[00:13:51] [SPEAKER_03]: I would assume.

[00:13:51] [SPEAKER_00]: That's already a lot to like zero in on knowing that it would be kind of like this is why they should be picking it randomly.

[00:13:57] [SPEAKER_00]: But then so much of the show relies on like the entertainment that people will bring.

[00:14:00] [SPEAKER_00]: So now we can start thinking through production.

[00:14:02] [SPEAKER_00]: That's what I would be doing.

[00:14:03] [SPEAKER_00]: Is that what like Real Housewives are doing?

[00:14:04] [SPEAKER_00]: I don't know about the Real Housewives enough to know that if I was there, I would be trying to get into production's head.

[00:14:09] [SPEAKER_00]: That might not be the people that they cast.

[00:14:11] [SPEAKER_03]: Well, it's all about picking people who you think could carry the load of being a traitor, providing some strategic insight and then playing it methodically.

[00:14:21] [SPEAKER_03]: And I feel like because the CBS shows have more of a proven quantity in that area of expertise, the strategy side, which is why you see someone like a Dan be brought into the turret.

[00:14:31] [SPEAKER_03]: Now, it doesn't mean it's always going to land in success, but I think it's because they're expected to have that in them is why they go to that pool.

[00:14:38] [SPEAKER_03]: But the reality is, Rob, they can't keep doing this because then, you know, inevitably we're going to have our hearts shattered when someone we want to get on the show gets on.

[00:14:47] [SPEAKER_03]: And then we have to just get a prayer candle out immediately to hope they don't get gamified out of the game.

[00:14:53] [SPEAKER_02]: Shannon, let's go back to Tony's Survivor Seasons.

[00:14:57] [SPEAKER_02]: Can you think of any particular moments from Tony's Survivor Seasons that you feel like you could imagine would have been good prep for the traitors?

[00:15:10] [SPEAKER_00]: Well, as I was saying, the spy shack.

[00:15:12] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.

[00:15:13] [SPEAKER_00]: That'll be very good.

[00:15:14] [SPEAKER_02]: He will definitely be spying.

[00:15:15] [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.

[00:15:16] [SPEAKER_00]: And what could we put in the bag of tricks in the traitors?

[00:15:20] [SPEAKER_00]: Like a breakfast scone or something?

[00:15:22] [SPEAKER_00]: Like what?

[00:15:23] [SPEAKER_00]: Something that could really help him.

[00:15:25] [SPEAKER_02]: I guess the shield might be the closest that he could get to a bag of tricks.

[00:15:30] [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.

[00:15:30] [SPEAKER_00]: He needs more.

[00:15:31] [SPEAKER_00]: He needs more trinkets than that.

[00:15:33] [SPEAKER_00]: I mean, he's also good at like bluffing trinkets using that kind of stuff.

[00:15:37] [SPEAKER_00]: So I think that could be pretty good from a shield perspective.

[00:15:41] [SPEAKER_00]: And then in terms of like his actual game of what has helped him, what do you think, Pooja?

[00:15:47] [SPEAKER_03]: Well, I think one of the best things that Tony has is I think he's very disarming.

[00:15:53] [SPEAKER_03]: I think that while, you know, having strategy is one thing, but then being the character he is, but being able to be disarming goes a long way.

[00:16:02] [SPEAKER_03]: And I think he's going to be disarming to a lot of new people he meets out the gate here.

[00:16:07] [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.

[00:16:07] [SPEAKER_00]: I've always said about Tony, like he's endearing and he has like a softness that people like, you know, he has jurors laughing at winners at war.

[00:16:14] [SPEAKER_00]: He convinces Wu to take him.

[00:16:16] [SPEAKER_00]: Like Tony has some pretty good mind control powers that are socially based and people like him and people have fun with him.

[00:16:22] [SPEAKER_00]: Like genuinely when I'm sad, I watched the ladder scene from winners at war.

[00:16:26] [SPEAKER_00]: It's so good watching all these icons, all these winners just dying laughing at Tony's ridiculousness.

[00:16:32] [SPEAKER_00]: I think people will have fun with him in the mansion.

[00:16:33] [SPEAKER_00]: So I think that, and he learned a lot of being that person at winners at war.

[00:16:37] [SPEAKER_00]: So I think that that would be very good for him for a social perspective.

[00:16:40] [SPEAKER_00]: People might just be like, just get a kick out of him.

[00:16:42] [SPEAKER_00]: I want to keep him around because they're having fun with him.

[00:16:44] [SPEAKER_00]: And I think that that is important.

[00:16:45] [SPEAKER_00]: And we think about that less than like the razzle dazzle of like the Tony game.

[00:16:49] [SPEAKER_02]: And Pooja, how do you think that like these random housewives and Bob Harper and all these strangers are going to react to Tony goofing off in the Scottish castle?

[00:17:02] [SPEAKER_03]: I think he's going to, weirdly enough, I think he's going to provide laughs, Rob.

[00:17:06] [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.

[00:17:06] [SPEAKER_00]: I think he's in the suit of armor.

[00:17:08] [SPEAKER_00]: He probably will.

[00:17:10] [SPEAKER_03]: If you're in a stressful environment like this, you need somebody who can laugh.

[00:17:13] [SPEAKER_03]: And I feel like in a very high stressful situation, even the funniest person can seem a lot more reserved and nervous.

[00:17:19] [SPEAKER_03]: Whereas Tony's been through some of the most stressful stuff on the show and has been able to laugh.

[00:17:24] [SPEAKER_03]: I think also not for nothing, but winning $3 million will give you a I'm playing with house money energy that I think Tony's going to bring, which I think will help him.

[00:17:34] [SPEAKER_00]: That is true.

[00:17:35] [SPEAKER_00]: I mean, he was like one of the most winningest in money reality TV contestants.

[00:17:41] [SPEAKER_00]: People might be bitter about that, but I think as well, it's like they're all playing with a degree of house money and being like they're mostly there for like the platform.

[00:17:49] [SPEAKER_00]: Right.

[00:17:49] [SPEAKER_00]: They're all reality stars.

[00:17:50] [SPEAKER_00]: These aren't like civilians who are like as much relying on the money.

[00:17:52] [SPEAKER_00]: So you want to have fun.

[00:17:53] [SPEAKER_00]: And Tony definitely brings that fun.

[00:17:55] [SPEAKER_00]: Even his opponents have always like liked and respected.

[00:17:58] [SPEAKER_00]: Well, that's why I can't say always.

[00:17:59] [SPEAKER_00]: But like if you think about a dynamic with like a Spencer, even like the kind of like frenemy or like opponent relationship can be really positive.

[00:18:06] [SPEAKER_00]: So, yeah, I think people will really like him and want to be around him.

[00:18:08] [SPEAKER_00]: And that might save his innate suspiciousness.

[00:18:11] [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.

[00:18:12] [SPEAKER_00]: So I think that that is really good because the other stuff that he does, I think, is a lot harder to do on the traders.

[00:18:16] [SPEAKER_00]: You know, like these pinpoint precision votes or flipping and, you know, stuff like I think that that's not as much the traders game.

[00:18:22] [SPEAKER_00]: And that's a lot of his strategic bread and butter.

[00:18:25] [SPEAKER_00]: So I think he's going to have to rely on his likability and then try and push votes with that.

[00:18:30] [SPEAKER_02]: Let's talk about Tony's relationships with some of these other players that are coming back.

[00:18:35] [SPEAKER_02]: Now, we have never seen Tony and Boston Rob on the same beach together on Survivor that Rob votes for Tony in the Winners at War finale.

[00:18:48] [SPEAKER_02]: But we've never seen interaction between Tony and Boston Rob before.

[00:18:54] [SPEAKER_02]: How do you think that that's going to go, Shannon?

[00:18:56] [SPEAKER_00]: It's crazy.

[00:18:57] [SPEAKER_00]: They were never on the same tribe.

[00:18:58] [SPEAKER_00]: And then Boston Rob's at the edge the whole time.

[00:19:00] [SPEAKER_00]: Tony obviously never goes to the edge.

[00:19:01] [SPEAKER_00]: I do remember when Boston Rob voted for Tony and he said that he had asked Adelaide to do everything right.

[00:19:07] [SPEAKER_00]: But like, hey, you didn't.

[00:19:09] [SPEAKER_02]: You didn't listen.

[00:19:10] [SPEAKER_00]: You didn't take out this guy and voted for Tony.

[00:19:13] [SPEAKER_00]: So I think there's probably like a pretty healthy mutual respect.

[00:19:19] [SPEAKER_00]: So I'm interested to see how that goes.

[00:19:20] [SPEAKER_00]: I don't think that I think that they both have enough that I doubt they're like jealous or defensive against each other.

[00:19:25] [SPEAKER_00]: Like I think they respect each other.

[00:19:27] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, I don't know.

[00:19:28] [SPEAKER_02]: That's interesting.

[00:19:29] [SPEAKER_02]: Well, I just don't know.

[00:19:30] [SPEAKER_02]: I mean, like I think back to young Boston Rob.

[00:19:33] [SPEAKER_02]: And again, I know for me, I'm not the same person I was on Survivor All-Stars.

[00:19:39] [SPEAKER_02]: So I shouldn't make any assumptions.

[00:19:41] [SPEAKER_02]: But I feel like that Rob really wanted to.

[00:19:44] [SPEAKER_02]: Hey, Ethan thinks he's the golden boy.

[00:19:48] [SPEAKER_02]: Colby, he's thinks he's this.

[00:19:49] [SPEAKER_02]: Like I think that Rob really wanted to take down the other big dogs, like in terms of like beat them in the competitions and then also be, you know, sort of like the last guy standing from like all of these like Survivor greats that they were bringing back.

[00:20:10] [SPEAKER_02]: So I'm wondering if there could be some competitiveness between Rob and Tony and also from Tony's perspective that I feel like that, like look back, like Tony wanted to get rid of, you know, LJ and, you know, like Tony and Cliff Robinson.

[00:20:29] [SPEAKER_02]: And, you know, Tony is also not above like taking out some of these other guys who might be standing in his way for seemingly no reason.

[00:20:40] [SPEAKER_00]: True.

[00:20:40] [SPEAKER_00]: But I think Tony will appreciate that Rob, you know, Rob's only jury vote ever in all as many times playing Survivor was for Tony.

[00:20:47] [SPEAKER_00]: And I think that like Rob's mark of respect and even what he said about Tony shows.

[00:20:51] [SPEAKER_00]: I mean, yeah, there might be like some like they're both showmen.

[00:20:54] [SPEAKER_00]: So like that level of competitiveness.

[00:20:57] [SPEAKER_00]: Sure.

[00:20:57] [SPEAKER_00]: But I think like on actual feelings, I'm sure they actually like and respect each other.

[00:21:00] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.

[00:21:01] [SPEAKER_02]: I do think in my heart of hearts, I think that they will get along.

[00:21:04] [SPEAKER_02]: I think that, you know, traitors is not necessarily like the cutthroat, like only one person can win nature of Survivor.

[00:21:13] [SPEAKER_02]: I need to take out the big threats.

[00:21:15] [SPEAKER_02]: So I do see a world in which Rob and Tony get along pretty well.

[00:21:20] [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, I think especially at the beginning, it's the whole safety with numbers.

[00:21:24] [SPEAKER_03]: I think coming into an unknown territory, finding out immediately that, oh, there's like five housewives here.

[00:21:30] [SPEAKER_03]: The Bravo Lebs could band together.

[00:21:32] [SPEAKER_03]: I think, you know, Shannon brought up earlier these intricate voting blocks or like, you know, just maneuvers to get numbers.

[00:21:38] [SPEAKER_03]: I think as much as traders isn't that game.

[00:21:41] [SPEAKER_03]: I think there's trends moving towards that direction anyway.

[00:21:44] [SPEAKER_03]: And I think early on realizing that in a sea of 20 people, the people I know are probably my the best people I can keep right now until I assess the rest of this group.

[00:21:54] [SPEAKER_03]: So could a civil war breakout later, Rob?

[00:21:56] [SPEAKER_03]: And they turn ahead against each other.

[00:21:58] [SPEAKER_03]: Definitely.

[00:21:59] [SPEAKER_03]: But at the beginning, I'm with you.

[00:22:01] [SPEAKER_03]: I think they'll pair off nicely.

[00:22:03] [SPEAKER_02]: OK, Shannon, yesterday, Pooja and I talked about Jeremy and how Jeremy might be feeling about Tony.

[00:22:09] [SPEAKER_02]: And obviously, they have a lot of history together from winners at war.

[00:22:15] [SPEAKER_02]: But aside from arguing about how many days there are in the week, that how do you think that Tony is going to get along with Jeremy?

[00:22:24] [SPEAKER_00]: I mean, it's the best like Jeremy and Tony for me are two like top five U.S. Survivor players.

[00:22:29] [SPEAKER_00]: Like I said, the traders at this point, present company excluded, has cast like my top five like Mount Rushmore U.S. Survivor players.

[00:22:36] [SPEAKER_00]: It's like three, Poverty, Sandra, Tony, Jeremy.

[00:22:38] [SPEAKER_00]: I think that's it.

[00:22:39] [SPEAKER_00]: And when Tony and Jeremy, who I think were like pretty much my top two, what was it, Poverty and Sandra, going on to winners at war and them teaming up was a dream.

[00:22:50] [SPEAKER_00]: And to see that again is incredible.

[00:22:52] [SPEAKER_00]: Like they have such a fun dynamic.

[00:22:54] [SPEAKER_02]: But it didn't end well.

[00:22:55] [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.

[00:22:56] [SPEAKER_00]: I mean, Tony helped Jeremy a lot.

[00:22:58] [SPEAKER_00]: He was always looking out for Jeremy.

[00:22:59] [SPEAKER_00]: I mean, they weren't in the same space.

[00:23:01] [SPEAKER_00]: And like Jeremy was the underdog.

[00:23:03] [SPEAKER_00]: Tony was a lot of the time the overdog.

[00:23:05] [SPEAKER_00]: They worked together on that incredible plurality vote blind side.

[00:23:08] [SPEAKER_00]: One of my favorite votes of all time.

[00:23:10] [SPEAKER_00]: My highlight probably of winners at war when Sophie goes home.

[00:23:13] [SPEAKER_00]: So they worked together well.

[00:23:15] [SPEAKER_00]: Like it was a relationship of comfort and convenience.

[00:23:18] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.

[00:23:19] [SPEAKER_00]: Numbers and comfort.

[00:23:20] [SPEAKER_00]: Whatever Tony says about that.

[00:23:22] [SPEAKER_00]: Numbers and comfort, right?

[00:23:23] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.

[00:23:23] [SPEAKER_00]: Yes.

[00:23:24] [SPEAKER_00]: But I think they have a real friendship.

[00:23:26] [SPEAKER_00]: I think they really like each other.

[00:23:28] [SPEAKER_00]: I think the relationship went as, you know, as far as it was going to go in a positive way.

[00:23:34] [SPEAKER_00]: You know, Jeremy voting for Natalie is nothing against Tony.

[00:23:36] [SPEAKER_00]: They always joke that like Jeremy had, he was connected to Tony, Natalie and Michelle.

[00:23:40] [SPEAKER_00]: Like if he could have voted for all three, that would have been the best for him.

[00:23:44] [SPEAKER_00]: So I think that they will have like a very positive relationship.

[00:23:48] [SPEAKER_02]: But do you think that Jeremy can trust Tony again?

[00:23:50] [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.

[00:23:52] [SPEAKER_02]: Why not?

[00:23:53] [SPEAKER_02]: I mean, I don't remember the exact circumstances, but I feel like that.

[00:23:57] [SPEAKER_02]: I mean, didn't Tony blindside Jeremy at the end of winners at war?

[00:24:03] [SPEAKER_00]: I felt like Jeremy was on borrowed time as an underdog and Tony gave him more time.

[00:24:08] [SPEAKER_00]: And then like his time.

[00:24:11] [SPEAKER_02]: But then pulled the rug out from under him.

[00:24:13] [SPEAKER_00]: Well, they can't all win.

[00:24:14] [SPEAKER_00]: You know, like Jeremy was a huge threat.

[00:24:15] [SPEAKER_00]: It was again, like a mark of respect.

[00:24:17] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.

[00:24:18] [SPEAKER_00]: And they worked together really well to get there.

[00:24:20] [SPEAKER_00]: And it was always like a kind of like you take care of me.

[00:24:23] [SPEAKER_00]: I'll take care of you kind of without being like super locked in.

[00:24:26] [SPEAKER_00]: They wouldn't have like a final two deal or anything like that.

[00:24:28] [SPEAKER_00]: So I felt like it was always really positive.

[00:24:32] [SPEAKER_00]: And I don't think that there was any bad blood there.

[00:24:34] [SPEAKER_00]: But, you know, Tony is the one as well who crafted or at least gave voice to what we still talk about, like the lions and the hyenas.

[00:24:40] [SPEAKER_00]: Yes.

[00:24:41] [SPEAKER_00]: So if he's going to be doing some of that, then you want to go to these big dog CBS players and align with them.

[00:24:49] [SPEAKER_00]: I think that Jeremy will be a very friendly face for Tony to see after coming out of his hibernation.

[00:24:53] [SPEAKER_02]: Okay.

[00:24:54] [SPEAKER_02]: Let's talk about Tony and Carolyn, because I actually think I could see this not being such a great relationship between Tony and Carolyn.

[00:25:08] [SPEAKER_02]: I think that Carolyn is best around people who are good listeners.

[00:25:16] [SPEAKER_02]: And I do not think that that is what Tony is.

[00:25:19] [SPEAKER_02]: I think Tony is a great talker.

[00:25:22] [SPEAKER_02]: And I think that I feel like this energy is not a good match.

[00:25:28] [SPEAKER_02]: Shannon, what do you think of that?

[00:25:29] [SPEAKER_00]: But then doesn't Carolyn like like Russell?

[00:25:32] Hmm.

[00:25:33] Hmm.

[00:25:33] [SPEAKER_00]: And he was on.

[00:25:35] [SPEAKER_02]: I think that she I think that she enjoys Russell's company.

[00:25:38] [SPEAKER_02]: I think she could talk to Russell on the phone.

[00:25:42] [SPEAKER_00]: But being stuck in the car.

[00:25:44] [SPEAKER_02]: Being on the show with Russell.

[00:25:45] [SPEAKER_02]: I don't think that that would go great.

[00:25:47] [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.

[00:25:47] [SPEAKER_00]: I mean, it doesn't feel like they would get along.

[00:25:50] [SPEAKER_00]: Like I could I can imagine the confessionals of Carolyn just like screaming about how Tony's driving her crazy.

[00:25:56] [SPEAKER_00]: But then could you also is this too much to hope for?

[00:25:59] [SPEAKER_00]: Could you could you hope for like a jam jam Carolyn star relationship of like we fight, but we love each other two big personalities?

[00:26:06] [SPEAKER_00]: Could we see that or is he just going to drive her like up the mansion wall?

[00:26:09] [SPEAKER_02]: I don't know.

[00:26:10] [SPEAKER_03]: I think Pooja could go either way.

[00:26:12] [SPEAKER_03]: It really is kind of like a coin toss situation.

[00:26:16] [SPEAKER_03]: See, I though I feel like they're going to be fine.

[00:26:19] [SPEAKER_03]: I feel like especially, you know, having, you know, Shannon citing the podcast guests over there.

[00:26:26] [SPEAKER_03]: I do feel like she's going to be fine dishing it out with Tony as long as their banter remains banter and doesn't end up being either misunderstood insult or anything like that.

[00:26:41] [SPEAKER_03]: I do think this is actually a very good low key pair that could do something in the game.

[00:26:45] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, we'll have to see.

[00:26:47] [SPEAKER_02]: I mean, there is a world where it could go well.

[00:26:48] [SPEAKER_02]: I just feel like that so much of Carolyn's story in Survivor 44 was about that.

[00:26:54] [SPEAKER_02]: The players weren't hearing her out.

[00:26:56] [SPEAKER_02]: She wasn't feeling understood.

[00:26:58] [SPEAKER_02]: And I just don't think that that's Tony's strong suit.

[00:27:00] [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.

[00:27:01] [SPEAKER_03]: What it's exciting to me because while this isn't the podcast where we're going to discuss Carolyn, I feel like that was her first time on on a show.

[00:27:09] [SPEAKER_03]: Now, second time being on TV, having learned a lot of things the first time around, what looks different?

[00:27:16] [SPEAKER_03]: I'm very curious to find out.

[00:27:17] [SPEAKER_03]: Okay.

[00:27:19] [SPEAKER_02]: Now, Tony, I don't believe is a big brother guy.

[00:27:22] [SPEAKER_02]: So I don't know if he's going to have any interaction with Daniel Reyes or Brittany Haynes.

[00:27:30] [SPEAKER_02]: But Pouya would be very excited to hear Brittany talk about Tony.

[00:27:36] [SPEAKER_03]: I think both Daniel and Brittany are going to have some very fun confessionals talking about Tony's hijinks.

[00:27:42] [SPEAKER_03]: And I cannot wait for it.

[00:27:45] [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.

[00:27:45] [SPEAKER_03]: Shannon.

[00:27:46] [SPEAKER_00]: He won't know any of these people, right?

[00:27:48] [SPEAKER_02]: I don't think so.

[00:27:49] [SPEAKER_00]: He doesn't watch any.

[00:27:49] [SPEAKER_00]: Tony was like, he doesn't have a TV, right?

[00:27:54] [SPEAKER_00]: I don't think he's going to know anyone other than the – will he know Carolyn?

[00:27:58] [SPEAKER_00]: Is he still watching?

[00:27:59] [SPEAKER_00]: We don't even know that far.

[00:28:00] [SPEAKER_02]: I think he'll know Carolyn.

[00:28:01] [SPEAKER_02]: I think he probably follows what's going on in Survivor.

[00:28:04] [SPEAKER_00]: I think he watches Survivor.

[00:28:05] [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, just Survivor.

[00:28:06] [SPEAKER_03]: Do we think, Rob, because, you know, we talked to Sandra on a deeper level about her season.

[00:28:13] [SPEAKER_03]: Do we think he's gotten some notes, some pointers from Sandra?

[00:28:17] [SPEAKER_02]: I think he may have.

[00:28:19] [SPEAKER_02]: I just don't know how much does Tony take notes from others.

[00:28:24] [SPEAKER_02]: That's fair.

[00:28:25] [SPEAKER_00]: He did from his wife.

[00:28:26] [SPEAKER_00]: His wife, he said, was the one who told him to, like, use game changes and go undercover.

[00:28:29] [SPEAKER_00]: I mean, he's not married to Sandra.

[00:28:31] [SPEAKER_00]: If Sandra did –

[00:28:32] [SPEAKER_02]: But his work wife.

[00:28:33] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.

[00:28:34] [SPEAKER_00]: Well, I guess it was Sarah as well.

[00:28:35] [SPEAKER_00]: But Sandra, like, if Sandra gave him notes, like, they should have, you know, recorded that and released it later as a podcast because that sounds like really good content.

[00:28:43] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.

[00:28:44] [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.

[00:28:45] [SPEAKER_02]: Still a fun dynamic, Sandra and Tony.

[00:28:48] [SPEAKER_02]: So, Shannon, what do you think?

[00:28:50] [SPEAKER_02]: Do you think they make Tony a traitor or no?

[00:28:53] [SPEAKER_00]: I don't know.

[00:28:53] [SPEAKER_00]: I mean, yeah, Pooja thinks it's Rob.

[00:28:55] [SPEAKER_00]: I'm happy to – I think I probably was leaning Rob anyway if it's going to be between the two of them.

[00:29:01] [SPEAKER_00]: But now I'm actually kind of interested in the idea of faithful Tony in the Mochak.

[00:29:06] [SPEAKER_01]: Mm-hmm.

[00:29:08] [SPEAKER_00]: It's so many other places, like, in the pipes, in the vents.

[00:29:11] [SPEAKER_00]: You know, there's so many places.

[00:29:11] [SPEAKER_00]: He's going to tear that mansion apart.

[00:29:13] [SPEAKER_00]: So, yeah, I'm excited about that.

[00:29:15] [SPEAKER_02]: How far do you think Tony goes?

[00:29:18] [SPEAKER_00]: I don't know.

[00:29:19] [SPEAKER_00]: I don't want to be disappointed.

[00:29:20] [SPEAKER_00]: I feel like I'm not giving him credit because I think how can he do it again?

[00:29:24] [SPEAKER_00]: But then he does.

[00:29:25] [SPEAKER_02]: We're due for, like, every other Tony time is bad.

[00:29:29] [SPEAKER_02]: So, I think we're due for this might be the bad Tony time.

[00:29:32] [SPEAKER_02]: And then on Tony, Australia versus the world.

[00:29:35] [SPEAKER_02]: Which filmed first?

[00:29:36] [SPEAKER_02]: Do we know?

[00:29:37] [SPEAKER_00]: This film –

[00:29:38] [SPEAKER_02]: This film first.

[00:29:39] [SPEAKER_02]: This film first.

[00:29:40] [SPEAKER_02]: This might be the bad Tony.

[00:29:42] [SPEAKER_02]: And then the U.S. versus – or Australia versus the world might be – Tony might win again.

[00:29:48] [SPEAKER_00]: Well, I mean, from your lips to God's ears.

[00:29:51] [SPEAKER_00]: I feel like – yes.

[00:29:54] [SPEAKER_00]: I was going to ask where do you think he goes further in his two 2025 appearances.

[00:29:57] [SPEAKER_00]: And I would put more money on Survivor, right?

[00:30:00] [SPEAKER_00]: Like, he's a Survivor player.

[00:30:01] [SPEAKER_00]: I think that's his game.

[00:30:02] [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.

[00:30:03] [SPEAKER_00]: So, I think that there's more he can control for what he wants to do in Australian Survivor.

[00:30:07] [SPEAKER_03]: I guess my question is what does a bad mean?

[00:30:10] [SPEAKER_03]: Because it's a total of – so, last season, not counting the reunion, Rob, total of 11 episodes.

[00:30:15] [SPEAKER_03]: How many episodes would Tony have to make it for it to be, like, counting under?

[00:30:21] [SPEAKER_03]: Because I think if he makes it to, like, episode three or four, I think that's a successful run.

[00:30:26] [SPEAKER_02]: Well, I'll say this about Tony.

[00:30:29] [SPEAKER_02]: Pouya, the traitors would be idiots to murder Tony.

[00:30:34] [SPEAKER_02]: Oh, 100%.

[00:30:35] [SPEAKER_02]: You let him get banished.

[00:30:36] [SPEAKER_02]: That's true.

[00:30:36] [SPEAKER_02]: Yes.

[00:30:36] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.

[00:30:37] [SPEAKER_02]: But he will get banished.

[00:30:38] [SPEAKER_02]: How long can he go without getting banished?

[00:30:40] [SPEAKER_00]: But people will like him.

[00:30:42] [SPEAKER_03]: That's the thing.

[00:30:42] [SPEAKER_03]: Like, Rob, I think there's a world where Tony provides the CT comedic level value in the castle where he's just, again, disarming everybody and he's going to be okay.

[00:30:53] [SPEAKER_03]: And then the traitors are like, well, he's just not getting banished.

[00:30:57] [SPEAKER_03]: We got to get him out.

[00:30:58] [SPEAKER_02]: I just feel like that he could be fun, but I feel like that once – it always boomerangs back when the person that's like – like,

[00:31:07] [SPEAKER_02]: I saw something very suspicious.

[00:31:09] [SPEAKER_02]: It was this person.

[00:31:10] [SPEAKER_02]: And then it always is like, oh, I think that's very suspicious that you think that that's suspicious.

[00:31:15] [SPEAKER_02]: I'm voting for Tony tonight.

[00:31:18] [SPEAKER_03]: He could – listen, I think at the end of the day, Tony is going to dictate where Tony goes.

[00:31:23] [SPEAKER_03]: And I think if he does a lot of that, I do think it could come back to haunt him.

[00:31:26] [SPEAKER_03]: But if he gives us the chill, winners at war kind of quiet initials, I think he can make a deep run here.

[00:31:33] [SPEAKER_02]: We'll see.

[00:31:34] [SPEAKER_02]: Keep it going.

[00:31:36] [SPEAKER_02]: Quiet start to the game.

[00:31:37] [SPEAKER_00]: What is the, like, Scottish Highland llama?

[00:31:42] [SPEAKER_00]: Like, the Highland cows?

[00:31:44] [SPEAKER_00]: Like, what's his name?

[00:31:45] [SPEAKER_00]: They have a lot of horses.

[00:31:46] [SPEAKER_00]: They have horses?

[00:31:47] [SPEAKER_00]: Nay?

[00:31:47] [SPEAKER_00]: He's just walking around going, nay.

[00:31:50] [SPEAKER_00]: Do you think?

[00:31:51] [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.

[00:31:51] [SPEAKER_03]: Is that a traitor?

[00:31:52] [SPEAKER_02]: Nay.

[00:31:53] [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, exactly.

[00:31:55] [SPEAKER_02]: Okay, Shannon, how do we think that Tony will get along with Alan Cumming?

[00:32:00] [SPEAKER_00]: I think that – I don't see that as a match made in heaven.

[00:32:05] [SPEAKER_00]: I feel like that's not a pairing I would have put together.

[00:32:07] [SPEAKER_00]: So I feel like he won't know what to make of Tony when Tony is – and I also think as well,

[00:32:13] [SPEAKER_00]: Tony on the back foot in a banishment, thinking about talking llama and stuff,

[00:32:17] [SPEAKER_00]: could really come out firing with some stuff.

[00:32:20] [SPEAKER_00]: So that might be fun as well.

[00:32:21] [SPEAKER_00]: So I think Alan Cumming will be amused, surely, by Tony.

[00:32:25] [SPEAKER_00]: I don't know.

[00:32:25] [SPEAKER_00]: He might also, just from a distance, though, want to be amused by him.

[00:32:28] [SPEAKER_02]: Okay.

[00:32:29] [SPEAKER_00]: What do you think?

[00:32:31] [SPEAKER_02]: I think that they're going to be comedy gold together.

[00:32:35] [SPEAKER_00]: Tony's always comedy gold.

[00:32:36] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.

[00:32:36] [SPEAKER_02]: I think that that's a good pairing to have with Tony.

[00:32:41] [SPEAKER_02]: Shannon, is there anything else that's on your mind about Tony playing on The Traitor Season 3?

[00:32:47] [SPEAKER_00]: No, I'm excited.

[00:32:48] [SPEAKER_00]: I'm excited that we're in the Tony-naissance.

[00:32:50] [SPEAKER_00]: The Tone-naissance.

[00:32:51] [SPEAKER_02]: Mm-hmm.

[00:32:53] [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.

[00:32:54] [SPEAKER_00]: He's the best.

[00:32:55] [SPEAKER_00]: Go watch the latter scene right now after we record this.

[00:32:56] [SPEAKER_00]: I'm telling you.

[00:32:57] [SPEAKER_00]: It's genuinely one of the funniest scenes in Survivor History.

[00:33:00] [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.

[00:33:00] [SPEAKER_00]: It's so good.

[00:33:01] [SPEAKER_00]: He's such good TV.

[00:33:02] [SPEAKER_00]: I can't wait to see how he tears up the castle.

[00:33:05] [SPEAKER_02]: Mm-hmm.

[00:33:06] [SPEAKER_02]: Okay.

[00:33:06] [SPEAKER_02]: All right.

[00:33:09] [SPEAKER_02]: Puya, any other thoughts on Tony?

[00:33:13] [SPEAKER_03]: No, I am, first of all, very happy.

[00:33:17] [SPEAKER_03]: Second of all, I want to share a little story, Rob.

[00:33:21] [SPEAKER_03]: Right as this cast gets dropped, I do get a message from one Shannon who says,

[00:33:24] [SPEAKER_03]: I cannot believe you're going to get to interview Tony.

[00:33:26] [SPEAKER_03]: And Shannon, guess who's going to get to interview Tony at some point this season?

[00:33:29] [SPEAKER_00]: Well, I manifested.

[00:33:31] [SPEAKER_00]: Puya, you can't bring that to me.

[00:33:32] [SPEAKER_00]: And then so do you, though.

[00:33:32] [SPEAKER_00]: So do you, though.

[00:33:33] [SPEAKER_00]: No, exactly.

[00:33:34] [SPEAKER_00]: Exactly.

[00:33:35] [SPEAKER_00]: I've sent that to you.

[00:33:41] [SPEAKER_00]: And let's throw in slavery and poverty as well.

[00:33:44] [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.

[00:33:44] [SPEAKER_00]: So I'm feeling good about it.

[00:33:46] [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.

[00:33:46] [SPEAKER_00]: I've got my own trade of this thing happening here.

[00:33:48] [SPEAKER_02]: We're overdue for Tony because we first saw Tony on Survivor Kageyana in 2014.

[00:33:53] [SPEAKER_02]: Then he comes back in Survivor Game Changers, which I believe is 2017.

[00:33:58] [SPEAKER_01]: Mm-hmm.

[00:33:59] [SPEAKER_02]: Then he comes back for Winners at War in 2020.

[00:34:02] [SPEAKER_02]: So this has been the longest stretch we've ever had.

[00:34:05] [SPEAKER_00]: It's like yesterday, though.

[00:34:06] [SPEAKER_02]: Damn, that's wild when you put it like that, Rob.

[00:34:08] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, it really doesn't feel that way.

[00:34:09] [SPEAKER_02]: It'll be almost five years since we had Tony.

[00:34:13] [SPEAKER_02]: So we were overdue for two Tonys.

[00:34:15] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.

[00:34:16] [SPEAKER_00]: And where else can we see him now that he's back accepting television contracts twice?

[00:34:20] [SPEAKER_00]: Can Tony cook?

[00:34:22] [SPEAKER_03]: Hmm.

[00:34:23] [SPEAKER_00]: I mean, he can cook, but can he cook?

[00:34:25] [SPEAKER_03]: Because, you know, I feel like worst cooks in America does bring some reality TV people over.

[00:34:31] [SPEAKER_03]: That could be a shout-out.

[00:34:31] [SPEAKER_00]: What about like, you know, if he does go on to kind of win and he becomes like even kind of Boston Rob level,

[00:34:37] [SPEAKER_00]: like transcending the medium, could we see him like, you know, as a mass singer, Puyo?

[00:34:41] [SPEAKER_00]: Can you, would you be able to identify the voice?

[00:34:44] [SPEAKER_03]: I think I could identify the voice.

[00:34:45] [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I think I could identify the voice.

[00:34:47] [SPEAKER_03]: I think it's a very distinct voice.

[00:34:48] [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.

[00:34:48] [SPEAKER_03]: I think that I could do.

[00:34:50] [SPEAKER_00]: From this moment he could do.

[00:34:51] [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.

[00:34:52] [SPEAKER_03]: Also, depending on how he performs this season, you know, he is on the show with a Dondi alum.

[00:34:59] [SPEAKER_03]: I could say, could Dondi be next?

[00:35:00] [SPEAKER_02]: I think Dondi could be, he could be on the shortlist for Dondi.

[00:35:04] [SPEAKER_02]: I mean, Dondi would just stop.

[00:35:06] [SPEAKER_02]: That's the circuit.

[00:35:07] [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.

[00:35:08] [SPEAKER_00]: That's so funny.

[00:35:09] [SPEAKER_00]: Like, put him on it all.

[00:35:10] [SPEAKER_00]: Like, this is why, you say this about Sari, now that they're actually doing it, just put her on everything.

[00:35:14] [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.

[00:35:14] [SPEAKER_00]: Why not?

[00:35:15] [SPEAKER_02]: All right.

[00:35:16] [SPEAKER_02]: So, Puyo, anything else for you about Tony?

[00:35:21] [SPEAKER_02]: Nope.

[00:35:22] [SPEAKER_02]: I think that's about everything we've covered here.

[00:35:24] [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.

[00:35:24] [SPEAKER_02]: Well, we tomorrow are going to get back together for a Christmas Eve chat about Brittany Haynes, who we last saw on Reindeer Games.

[00:35:36] [SPEAKER_02]: So, the synergy is there.

[00:35:38] [SPEAKER_02]: And so, we will talk about Brittany Haynes.

[00:35:41] [SPEAKER_02]: And then, the rest of the way on the Traders previews, Puyo will have them in our Traders podcast feed.

[00:35:46] [SPEAKER_02]: Make sure you're subscribed so you don't miss any of our previews when we get to the Housewives and everybody else at WeKnowTraders.com.

[00:35:53] [SPEAKER_02]: Shannon, what exciting things do you have coming up?

[00:35:56] [SPEAKER_00]: Well, you know me.

[00:35:58] [SPEAKER_00]: You know, Australian Survivor is coming up at a point.

[00:36:01] [SPEAKER_00]: So, unfortunately, these two seasons are always at a similar time, which is not great for me as wanting to watch the Traders.

[00:36:07] [SPEAKER_00]: But we're going to get to it.

[00:36:08] [SPEAKER_00]: There's going to be two seasons in 2025, as we've said, the world season, Brains vs. Brawn, you know, just wrapped up.

[00:36:17] [SPEAKER_00]: US Survivor.

[00:36:18] [SPEAKER_00]: There's always a lot of Survivor.

[00:36:19] [SPEAKER_00]: That's what I'm doing.

[00:36:21] [SPEAKER_00]: At Shannon Gates.

[00:36:22] [SPEAKER_00]: Follow me for it all.

[00:36:23] [SPEAKER_02]: Okay.

[00:36:24] [SPEAKER_03]: And then, Puyo, what else is coming up for you?

[00:36:27] [SPEAKER_03]: I will be talking a lot of Traders, not just the US, but, of course, UK premieres January 1st with Season 3.

[00:36:36] [SPEAKER_03]: So, myself and Annabelle will be talking about that.

[00:36:38] [SPEAKER_03]: So, I'm going to be buried in all the Traders goodness and trying to watch Australian Survivor at the same time.

[00:36:44] [SPEAKER_03]: So, I'm going to be juggling it all, Rob.

[00:36:46] [SPEAKER_03]: It's going to be great.

[00:36:47] [SPEAKER_03]: And, of course, the Hot Mess Express waits for no one.

[00:36:50] [SPEAKER_03]: So, 90 Day Fiance will be happening as well.

[00:36:52] [SPEAKER_02]: We've got a busy 2025 for everybody.

[00:36:55] [SPEAKER_00]: January 1st is crazy.

[00:36:57] [SPEAKER_00]: They're like, no holiday for you.

[00:36:59] [SPEAKER_00]: Wake up early.

[00:37:00] [SPEAKER_00]: Wake up.

[00:37:00] [SPEAKER_00]: We got it.

[00:37:01] [SPEAKER_02]: Every show is back.

[00:37:03] [SPEAKER_02]: It's crazy 2025, everybody.

[00:37:05] [SPEAKER_02]: Okay?

[00:37:05] [SPEAKER_00]: January 1st in the UK is like early January 1st for you.

[00:37:09] [SPEAKER_00]: They're like, I don't care what you did on New Year's.

[00:37:10] [SPEAKER_00]: Get up.

[00:37:11] [SPEAKER_00]: Start covering the show.

[00:37:12] [SPEAKER_00]: You know, podcasting doesn't take a vacation.

[00:37:14] [SPEAKER_00]: Let's go.

[00:37:14] [SPEAKER_02]: Tony says there's no weekends in podcasting.

[00:37:17] [SPEAKER_02]: Okay?

[00:37:17] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.

[00:37:18] [SPEAKER_02]: All right.

[00:37:18] [SPEAKER_02]: Thank you so much for joining us for our Tony preview.

[00:37:21] [SPEAKER_02]: We'll be back to talk about Brittany Haynes tomorrow.

[00:37:24] [SPEAKER_02]: Thank you.

[00:37:24] [SPEAKER_02]: Take care.

[00:37:24] [SPEAKER_02]: Have a good one.

[00:37:25] [SPEAKER_02]: Bye.
