So, as of right now, the wound is fresh I just watched myself come in third place After busting my ass off I shed a tear Yeah, I know Watching it with you I know Honestly, it was devastating I feel like I had such a crazy season

[00:01:29] I went into so many eliminations I was busting my ass And I just like I felt like I deserved it And then it got ripped out from under me And also, like As somebody who prides myself on my social game To have the social aspect Be the thing that knocked me down Yeah From second place to third place Was truly devastating I felt like But that's not something that you could account for Because you didn't know this was coming Right I couldn't have accounted for it And, you know, I think that there is And this is like Correct me if I'm wrong

[00:01:58] I'm not a challenge super fan But this is a All eras of the challenge So there are friendships and loyalties That way predate you Yes I don't know Is that a factor? Listen, that's definitely a factor And I know that I Me and Jenny Were gonna be at a disadvantage We showed up Our, both of our place And our places in the game Got kind of bumped down By karma And I recognize that I don't have the best reputation In general On the challenge with people

[00:02:27] So that is something That I'm also battling And I understand that Okay But, you know It's definitely been interesting Seeing the response to it I've seen a lot of Michelle was robbed I have heard that before I feel like I am on Winners at War You're a robbed queen now All over again You know, it's crazy When I won first People thought I should come second On Survivor When I came in third on Survivor People thought I should come second And now I'm back You're damned if you do

[00:02:57] Damned if you don't It's, listen, I am an eternal That's the experience of being a woman On reality TV Yeah Honestly I evade silver at all costs But everybody believes I am a silver medalist It's, it's a wild circumstance that I'm in But you know what? That hurt me I know Making me sad You know, at the end of the day It all balances out So I feel Well, I'm so proud of you And I know the internet is proud of you Thank you Most of the internet I survived I'll say It's been interesting I think karma is Karma is a bitch

We show our IDs They're all from different states in Canada Got it And so waiters will be like Oh, there's a Canadian? There's a Canadian Shit, I just shit on Canada You know what? Caleb could use a few notches down So that's absolutely fine Sorry, Caleb He's the only one who actually drank in Canada Out of his patriotism That's adorable Yeah, adorable Something like that But we will like We'll be all out and everyone And the, like a waiter will be like How the hell do you know each other?

Because when people ask It's tough Things like that I'm like, maybe you know for me from high school Are you in the travel industry? They're like, we get some business groups here We get like, friend groups And they were like I see One waiter was pretty, like He had a pretty good eye He was like, you guys are two, like Weirdly close to be business partners But then it's like Why is there, like Julie is like A little older than us It's like, why is she? It's like, mom and her

[00:07:20] Degenerate children Like, the vibe was off I think Emily actually was just like We were on We were on a TV show And we like to like Just torture the waiter or anybody And be like Well, what do you think we did? So we made him guess what show we were on Oh, wow, that is cruel And then We always make them guess who won We're like, the winner is sitting here Who do you think won? And this round The waiter said that I looked like a boss bitch And gave me the win They probably knew you went to Yale Oh my god I am gonna

Yeah I literally did wear a Yale shirt I know, and he sent me the photo And let me tell you If he thought you won It's so embarrassing It's because you wore the Yale shirt Let's be honest Let's be honest No, but Do you like You do hang out with like anyone Like have you had this experience too? Where you're like with a group Obviously I hang out with I hang out with a lot of reality TV people I think in general I have been on

[00:08:18] I'm on seven shows at this point I really have dipped my toes Oh, humble brag I mean just brag Seven shows That's not humble No, I'm bragging That's a brag actually No Seven shows But I have dipped my toes into a lot of reality TV waters And I feel I've met a lot of people And usually there's a New York adjacent There's always something going on So I've met a lot of reality TV people So yes, it comes up But I do try to sort of like avoid it at all costs Because it's uncomfortable It annoys my sister to no end She's like

[00:08:49] They're like You look familiar Are you? And they're guessing And I'm not giving them Do you give them like a fake story ever? No, I don't give them anything Maybe we should come up with like an alias And my sister's like This is awkward You're beating around the bush She was on reality TV It's enough like That's what yeah When I'm with my girlfriend She's like If she noticed people She'd be like yes, it's Survivor Yeah So that I don't have to say it Because it's really uncomfortable It is uncomfortable Not that I mean I appreciate it But you know I love hanging out with other people Who have been through the experience together Absolutely I think it's fun I think that's why also like

[00:09:18] I want this podcast to be like fun hanging out Having guests Because really All the podcasts are about strategy Oh my god, break this down I'm like I am surely not my game moves That is like Yeah That is the worst part of it And when you meet other people Like you realize that very quickly Yeah You know what I mean? Like when you meet other people in the community It's like There's the edit, there's whatever Yeah And then you meet people and you're like Oh like this is actually who I gel with And I think this is so interesting Like for me Because I've had

[00:09:45] Like Dee and Emily and other people Or some of my like best friends for my season And they did not work with me In fact they screwed me over And so my family or like Other people will be like Wait, Emily's coming to your wedding? Like are you sure? And they don't really understand And I think my cast has a bit of a reputation For being kumbaya Besties, blah, blah, blah Listen, I'll just say we all respect each other I don't know if we're all best friends

[00:10:15] But we all can be in a room together And have a good time And it really helped me post game To find some of these friendships That weren't people who my game was like So intertwined with Yeah Because there is like emotions And like intensity That comes If you've played the game together Whatever And so I have friends like Dee And like Emily Who kind of They were in the same space as me They went through the same experience But kind of in a parallel And so when I talk to them It's like

[00:10:43] They can give me like Knowledgeable But still unbiased advice You know what I'm saying? Yeah I think that the further That I get away from Survivor I mean my first season Not to date myself But it was about 10 years ago So like I think my cast Damn I know I know You're old My cast was close You're old And had Division shut the absolute fuck up Okay She's two years I think she's three years older than me You know what?

[00:11:13] I... And I'm more seasoned okay bitch Alright No one is arguing And all of these wrinkles I have a wrinkle for each season You have not a wrinkle on your... Well it's called Botox But anyways I will say That I think that Kumbaya does come from that first experience Like you... That makes sense It's your first time ever going through it And time sort of sweeps everybody up at some point And some people from your season go on and do other shows And then they have that experience with their next cast And life come...

[00:11:43] Life kind of comes in Right now you're doing all the events You're part of it You're in the community But the more time and space you have from it The more life... Other life things Mm-hmm Take the forefront And it kind of takes a backseat It's fun for it to be the part of your life That is Then I feel like you'll find like who sticks Yes Like who are you... Who are you like calling when something goes down That's not related to Survivor Exactly And that's how you know That's how you know It is fun to be in it

[00:12:11] And you're never gonna meet people Like the reality TV people And we're gonna give you So interesting I'm gonna showcase of that on this podcast Right But you're never gonna... Like it does feel like everything's so intense The adrenaline's up You're having this wild like experience That's just like what the fuck was happening It's like bizarre and also like unrelatable in many ways So if you find that other... Yeah Person you need that I personally like I needed to find But soon you will realize that it is not all kumbaya

[00:12:40] The more shows that you do And this is for people who might be coming on the podcast What? Don't trust everybody I think it's gonna be kumbaya Don't trust I know we are like... We're like the highest And every show is different Like Survivor people are forgiving And other shows people are not Like it... Yeah I do think that's true Every show has its own vibe I think Survivor is like meant to be cutthroat And... So you go in with that expectation Like yeah of course I'm sad that you know Yeah Somebody blindsided me I wasn't expecting it But it was like

[00:13:09] Okay game respect game There was a reason for it And I'd rather be respected and blindsided than just like... But on the challenge that is so disrespectful Like if you blindside somebody you are not real You're fake You're phony You're... That's a crazy thing to navigate that change You don't think... Well I did not know that I've never seen the challenge before going on it And then I'm on and I'm like Well I'm just gonna kind of snake my way through I'm gonna like kind of get as many alliances as like I possibly can

[00:13:39] Yeah Make as many friends as I can And then like when I do it they'll understand it's game And people are not like that there They're like we're gonna run this If you are a mainstay You go back every season And your mistakes And that's such a different vibe Will always be hung over your head And truly the best way to play the challenge is like Being as upfront as possible And fall on the sword if you have to fall on the sword And the challenge... Survivor is like never fall on the sword Yeah Blame everyone else Yeah Push everybody onto the sword before you

[00:14:09] And then apologize later Yes It's like totally different games I think we're watching... I'm watching traitors right now That's a totally different... Absolutely So you kind of always have to pivot I'm interested I think we're gonna have some traitors on Later in the season We have survivors on We have challenges on A couple traitors So I think everyone's a little bit different But survivor does tend to be the most forgiving I feel That's interesting I think That makes sense But I think it's like what you said You were going with the expectation of cutthroat-ness Right? So it's like alright Yeah

[00:14:36] That's why when I was so upset when I left And I was like the first one to be like really sad It was like I thought it was gonna be controversial But it ended up being like I immediately was like okay I was sad for a bit My jury appearances were a little controversial as well Cause I was sad in the next jury thing If you take money out of my hand I'm gonna be dead They like whiplash you You know what I mean? Like I got voted out Less than 24 hours later I'm back at tribal council And they're like

[00:15:03] Oh wow, what a devastating blindside for Kelly I'm just sitting there like Yep That happened That happened Listen It's just We're both blindside victims This is what it is Different you know One's you know Almost winning Not quite Alright but listen Enough of us We planned on having this podcast about three hours earlier But I do love you And we got to girl chatting Our guests A lot of girl chat We were girl chatting with I'm learning so much

[00:17:00] I think you will have an interesting perspective on this I feel like any winner might have An interesting perspective on this Cause it's like For me When we got closer After the game Which it was so It was like healing for me to have another woman Who I respected Sort of like And we had these parallel experiences Where we weren't working together But we were In the same space And for you to be able to sort of give me that Slightly zoomed out But still clued in Advice

[00:17:29] And like And just like support You know what I mean? But it's like weird coming from The winner a bit I don't know I would think a little bit It's It's a little Challenging Because Coming from Winning a show where everyone wants to win It comes with a lot of like guilt too And I'm sure you've felt that Michelle So I think when it comes to like giving advice and stuff It's tough because You kind of have to like step back And put your feelings aside Right? And then

[00:17:58] Here's how I feel about it I understand the guilt thing I really do I came on My season It was the most controversial Win of all time And so in that I felt guilt That I stripped Somebody who everybody thought was the person who was supposed to win Yeah Of that title And I felt like I had to defend myself I felt like Anybody who voted for me Like I was like Oh my god I need to like Make them feel like Like now they watch the season They're gonna regret that And there's all these like layers of

[00:18:28] You took the game out of Somebody Like you took the win out of somebody else's hands And are they proud of me? Did I do it the way that they want? There's so much going on there And so Listen All I have to say is like I would say don't feel guilt I think everybody has done It's not at the hands of you Everybody plays a game to win And we voted for Yeah Yeah and you should be And we're all so proud of Yeah And like that

[00:18:56] Made my experience so much better If I couldn't win I'm glad it was somebody who I Not only just respected love But also was like A badass woman That was like She can't be me I would want to be And that should be your takeaway That should be your takeaway That is something that I talked with The psychologist a lot But then I was like Alright it's okay for me To feel these feelings And at the same time Like know my role When someone asks me for advice Like you for example Cause it comes with a lot of like What ifs I should have done this I should have done that And then it's like Fuck

[00:19:25] Like I didn't feel that So I'm coming from a place of privilege So I wanna make sure That I give advice But stepping out Right? So I think you've always been great at that And it was like We didn't leave the game being like We're gonna be best friends forever We only like Hung out for a few days Right, right But then we took this like Big cast trip to My family's house in Cape Cod It was so fun That was where we kinda like There was one night We were like talking And we were like all in like The girls room sleeping together And we were like We're just gonna talk for a little bit

[00:19:53] And then we kept talking so long Emily was like Can you guys shut up? Yeah She was like please stop But it was like We're in the middle of a therapy session Emily I'm gonna need you to put your Little Your plugs in A lot of laughter A lot of uh Cries That For all of us I think that truly like I try to take it away And like I don't need to be everybody's Savior This is not my burden Like Yeah I played the game as well as I could I was so lucky that I got rewarded with the win

[00:20:23] But I don't have to And I took a Like Pivoting to the challenge When I was on the challenge Season 39 was tough Cause I was in so many alliances I had so many friends And I felt really like Responsible for each of their journeys And like how How I played And how that affected them And I was like I am taking on too much Yeah Like It is not my responsibility Yeah You do that I know It is not my responsibility To guide you through this process I'm also trying to figure it out myself And so

[00:20:52] Creating boundaries And being like I Love you And I love that we have this bond In this relationship But I also don't know And I only have a bandwidth Of this much to give out Because I also am only capable Of this much So like Yeah It speaks to both of you guys though Yeah And it's 18 new friends It's like alright I gotta pick and choose Like Yeah You know what I can't hear Oh I wanna know who you can To your cheese Who's getting left on the side of the road My wedding invite list I'm just kidding

[00:21:50] The only thing I can ever compare it to Is like when I worked during COVID As a nurse Like the people who I was with there Like even if They might not have been the person I would have chose to be friends with It's like we went through something So unique Bizarre And whatever Like no one is ever gonna get this Yeah And you've already seen each other Like at our very worst In many cases On both on Survivor And this situation I'm talking about And so it's like Even if I haven't really talked to Some of the people in my cast In a long time It's like they've seen

[00:22:19] They've seen me cry They've seen me uncomfortable In many situations So it's It's very difficult for me to like You know understand Where it's gonna move from here But I'm doing my best Like we've actually You might not like me saying this But we've like been to the point We've heard each other farting On the way here On the way to the podcast Yeah that's true friendship guys That is true You know like you make it to a level Where we've already lived with each other We're stinky

[00:22:50] And it's like we've only I've only known you for like A little over a year But I feel like I've known you for I would not do that with many of my friends I don't know either Let me tell you People wouldn't even do that with their significant other Let me tell you I mean I wouldn't do that The challenge You know if you do it I fart in front of my significant other No I could never Oh my god you girls You girls are prison mixed to homosexuality To heterosexuality I would absolutely not That's so embarrassing Like I could No I could never Guys are you serious? [00:34:29] But I will say that for Oh Sarah Yeah, Sarah was season 34 But I think that I felt this really like I'm not gonna win That's not what I'm here for I'm here to have fun And experience the show And as the show progressed Wow I was just like Oh, well, you know, maybe I can And I wanted to Squeeze everything out Of the experience that I possibly could I wanted to I was fascinated by people So like What people consider a social game

[00:34:58] Truly was me just like Living in the moment Loving the experience And like wanting to Get everything out of it Before somebody Eventually voted me on I do think people have like People have said like Survivor editors It's still difficult When you're on an island For 26, 39 days How do you edit A good social game? Right? Because it takes It's like Every interaction And every authentic moment Is what leads to the relationships Being meaningful And you know It's a 60 to 90 minute show Like how could you ever Possibly

[00:35:27] Show all of that Which you know It wasn't my plan I wasn't going in Being like Oh, I'm gonna play Like this social game And I wasn't trying to make Big strategic moves either I was just like I am just gonna be me And I also didn't do Any prep for it Like I wasn't Watching the seasons I really was just like I'm just gonna go in Be me And hope that that gets me The win Like that was it I was as simple As you could cut it And I You know When I won I was like Oh my god I did this amazing thing
