[00:00:56] It was 10 years ago, on a night just like this. Survivor San Juan Del Sur aired a back-to-back two-hour episode and it sounded like this.
[00:01:13] Because I'm a people person, Baylor. You're a brat.
[00:01:17] Excuse me? Did you just call her a brat?
[00:01:20] She's being a brat.
[00:01:22] That's right. It's Survivor San Juan Del Sur.
[00:01:25] 10 years later, it is Brat.
[00:01:28] I'm Josh Wiggler, not Brat, but I am joined here by a man who I'm very excited to talk to.
[00:01:36] First time podcasting with this guy.
[00:01:38] Rob Sesternino, not here, but don't worry.
[00:01:41] We got another white guy with brown hair and glasses to step in to the booth.
[00:01:46] The great Brandon Donlan.
[00:01:48] Brandon, welcome to Nicaragua.
[00:01:50] Oh my God. I've never been. This is fantastic.
[00:01:52] This is your first time?
[00:01:53] This is my first time here when Rob couldn't make it.
[00:01:57] He had to contact any new era player who knew what happened this episode.
[00:02:00] Yeah.
[00:02:01] Omer was not available.
[00:02:02] And now your boy's here.
[00:02:04] So I'm excited to lock and load with these people that I miss so much, like Alec.
[00:02:10] Like Alec.
[00:02:11] Yeah. We really brought you in for a doozy of an episode.
[00:02:15] The double whammy that is...
[00:02:18] They're both technically episode 11 and 12, even though it aired as like a back-to-back two-hour block, Brandon.
[00:02:24] It's two episodes titled, kind of like cream cheese and still holding on.
[00:02:32] Kind of like cream cheese.
[00:02:33] Is this one of the best or worst names for an episode of Survivor?
[00:02:37] I'd be interested.
[00:02:38] Survivor fact check here if you're listening.
[00:02:40] And I know you are, Costa.
[00:02:41] I know you're here.
[00:02:41] How many episode titles have a food in them?
[00:02:44] Is cream cheese...
[00:02:45] How many episode titles have cream cheese in them?
[00:02:47] I guess just the one.
[00:02:49] Probably just this one.
[00:02:50] Probably.
[00:02:51] I'm trying to think.
[00:02:51] I guess it depends on what you define as food.
[00:02:55] Sure.
[00:02:57] There is earlier this season, getting to crunch time.
[00:03:03] So if that's like a crunch bar.
[00:03:07] Sure.
[00:03:07] My favorite candy, famously.
[00:03:08] I love a bunch of crunch and that's his cousin.
[00:03:12] Bunch of crunch.
[00:03:13] Yeah.
[00:03:13] Bunch of crunch is the little brother.
[00:03:14] The very next season, Survivor Worlds Apart, which we were talking about a little bit pre-pod,
[00:03:20] has at least two that I'm seeing right away.
[00:03:23] Winner, winner, chicken, damn dinner.
[00:03:26] Sure.
[00:03:27] And bring the popcorn.
[00:03:30] Bring the popcorn.
[00:03:31] I feel like there's been a couple episode titles that have been used more than once.
[00:03:34] I think bring the popcorn has happened again.
[00:03:36] What's happened?
[00:03:37] I couldn't be sure.
[00:03:39] Yeah.
[00:03:40] I know there's been a couple.
[00:03:42] Bring the popcorn is also easily replicable.
[00:03:44] Yeah.
[00:03:45] Straight up.
[00:03:46] Bring the popcorn appears to be just this episode, but Survivor episode popcorn.
[00:03:54] Let's see if there's others that show up.
[00:03:56] I can't.
[00:03:57] I can't find it.
[00:03:58] Maybe again in the future when Jeff Probst brings a popcorn machine to tribal council.
[00:04:04] And we're, we're, you know, did double digit season single digit episodes away from that
[00:04:10] happening.
[00:04:10] Yeah.
[00:04:11] That's happening soon.
[00:04:11] Oh, real soon.
[00:04:13] So any food named episodes, any foodborne illnesses on Survivor Kageyan?
[00:04:21] Yeah.
[00:04:22] In some cultures, sure.
[00:04:23] Head of the snake.
[00:04:24] Some people might eat that.
[00:04:26] Not me.
[00:04:27] I like a, I like a, I guess gummy worm is fundamentally different in every way, but I like their, their
[00:04:32] snake, like their, their loonless, uh, the, uh, straw that broke the camel's back also in
[00:04:39] certain worlds.
[00:04:41] Maybe I'm just looking now at animals and counting that as it.
[00:04:45] So I don't, I don't think that that's actually it, but kind of like cream cheese is
[00:04:48] kind of like a food title, kind of like how excited I am to finally podcast together.
[00:04:53] Brandon Donlan.
[00:04:54] How have you been?
[00:04:55] How are you doing?
[00:04:55] We talk a lot.
[00:04:56] Cause you're doing a lot behind the scenes here at all.
[00:04:58] RHA party.
[00:04:59] Sure.
[00:04:59] I mean, I'm, I'm having, I'm living the dream.
[00:05:01] You know, I, I, I love to talk about my favorite show.
[00:05:04] This one.
[00:05:04] I never get to read.
[00:05:06] I mean, your favorite show.
[00:05:07] That's very kind of you, but I know what your actual favorite show is.
[00:05:10] Oh, well it's my, you know, it's, it's my favorite show that I could legally participate
[00:05:14] in.
[00:05:14] It's not.
[00:05:15] Favorite show that you've been on.
[00:05:16] Favorite show that I've been on.
[00:05:17] Certainly not my favorite show where I'm watching celebrities dance, which is my favorite show.
[00:05:22] But I get to, I, I seldom get to just sit down and watch survivor.
[00:05:26] I have like, sometimes when I work, there's like a, you know, on Paramount plus there's
[00:05:29] a 24 seven survivor channel.
[00:05:32] You can put on.
[00:05:32] Yeah.
[00:05:33] Looping old seasons.
[00:05:34] I have that on a lot in the background for like noise, but just today was the first
[00:05:38] time that I've sat down and just watched an older episode of survivor.
[00:05:42] I think since I participated in such a program, I've never sat down and I mean, like I watched
[00:05:47] my own.
[00:05:47] I watched 46, I watched 47, but like, I haven't just gone back and revisited, you know, a relic
[00:05:52] of the past, which is what this was.
[00:05:54] And not because like you're traumatized.
[00:05:57] Like, uh, I think didn't Jeff Probst sing about you this past week?
[00:06:01] The, what do you do when you're on survivor with glasses?
[00:06:04] Oh, he did do that.
[00:06:05] I, you know what, to be honest, that's going to be some of the survivor lost media for me.
[00:06:09] I didn't, I didn't watch that.
[00:06:10] I only got about 15 seconds in and I'm like, this is interesting.
[00:06:14] It's just, it's viral marketing for next week's wand off.
[00:06:17] Don't forget folks to submit your wand offs.
[00:06:20] Rob has a website.com slash wand off.
[00:06:23] It was just Jeff doing us a solid and putting one of those out.
[00:06:27] When I interviewed with him, my, my first ever interview, September of 2021, I have a,
[00:06:32] I have a list of questions and I'm like, Jeff, I don't know if we're going to get the
[00:06:35] chance to do this again.
[00:06:36] Can I just ask you stuff?
[00:06:37] I've always wanted to know.
[00:06:37] And he was like, I guess so.
[00:06:39] Sure.
[00:06:39] Yeah.
[00:06:39] One of the questions was, can you sit?
[00:06:41] I've always wanted to know if Jeff could say, and Jeff was like, I cannot say, he's
[00:06:45] like, I've tried to sing.
[00:06:45] I can't say.
[00:06:46] And that video granted.
[00:06:48] I only watched 15 seconds.
[00:06:50] He could sing.
[00:06:51] He's not bad.
[00:06:52] Group's got pipes.
[00:06:53] I wouldn't say that's bad.
[00:06:54] I think that's a, that's a passable.
[00:06:56] You're not going to win American Idol.
[00:06:57] You'll go to Hollywood though.
[00:06:59] I think you won't make it to the live rounds.
[00:07:01] You know, I think you go to Hollywood specifically because it's like, uh, Jeff.
[00:07:05] And he's like, yeah, I mean, I'm just trying to shake it up.
[00:07:09] It would be weird if you walked into the audition room.
[00:07:11] Um, if they let him get that far, he's going to Hollywood.
[00:07:14] You would think.
[00:07:15] You have to, you worry about what happens if you don't let him, but he can sing.
[00:07:19] I didn't watch.
[00:07:19] I get weird with like people who write their own songs.
[00:07:23] I get just like if there's high upside, but there's low, low, low downside that like makes
[00:07:27] me itch.
[00:07:28] Yeah.
[00:07:29] Um, music then.
[00:07:31] I like a lot of that is people writing their own stuff.
[00:07:34] You know, I listen to music that I've been vetted by.
[00:07:37] I'll never go listen to a new song.
[00:07:39] You won't do that yourself.
[00:07:40] I need somebody to tell me it's good.
[00:07:42] I need to, I need to, you know, if I, and tick tock has been great for that.
[00:07:45] Cause I'll scroll and then I'll hear a song and I'll see that it's gotten a lot of positive feedback.
[00:07:49] So I'm like, Oh, this must be good.
[00:07:50] You know, but like a, and not to disrespect all the singer songwriters out there.
[00:07:54] You're doing great work.
[00:07:55] Yeah.
[00:07:55] Um, I just, I won't hear it yet.
[00:07:58] First.
[00:07:58] If you send it to me, I'll, I'll listen to it.
[00:08:01] No, you don't, don't put that out there.
[00:08:03] Cause now you're going to be getting all these skeets with people sending you their songs and
[00:08:07] you're just going to have to respond with like a neutral face.
[00:08:11] Uh, you know, like that's the one, that's the one.
[00:08:14] If you're watching it here on the youth for this, those listening in an auditory medium,
[00:08:18] but I didn't make it.
[00:08:19] He did it.
[00:08:20] I'm making a blue sky.
[00:08:21] He did it.
[00:08:22] Uh, Brandon Donlin, long time survivor fan, a long time RHAP listener.
[00:08:28] Uh, were you listening to RHAP during San Juan del Sur?
[00:08:31] Do you remember?
[00:08:32] Oh, Hondo P.
[00:08:33] I mean, I was, I've been listening since the first episode.
[00:08:36] Okay.
[00:08:36] So you've been here from the jump.
[00:08:37] I didn't know what a podcast was until, until Johnny Fairplay showed up on that first
[00:08:41] episode of, of this podcast.
[00:08:43] Yeah.
[00:08:44] Um, and then I've been in from the jump.
[00:08:46] I've been in since then.
[00:08:46] Uh, so do you then carry the same nostalgia for this season that certainly I'm carrying
[00:08:53] a lot of the people who've been keeping, uh, the Stan Juan del Sur podcast online have
[00:08:59] been harboring because one of the things that we've observed as every single week has gone
[00:09:04] down, there's just something incredibly quotable and iconic to bring into the podcast that has
[00:09:10] already previously probably been brought into the podcast.
[00:09:13] This being the season where the soundboard wasn't born, but really started to, to learn
[00:09:19] how to fly.
[00:09:21] Absolutely.
[00:09:21] I mean, it's funny.
[00:09:22] Like when you go and rank survivor seasons, like when I, I have a Google doc that I've just,
[00:09:26] I put in after I watch season, I put it in there and someone else.
[00:09:29] There's always been top 10 since it's been on.
[00:09:31] Wow.
[00:09:31] Really?
[00:09:31] Like I haven't revisited.
[00:09:33] I haven't ever, I haven't watched an episode since I don't think 2014.
[00:09:36] I, I would go back and watch like seasons one through 10.
[00:09:40] I'd go revisit, but like I, I, in my like adult life, like post college, I'd say I haven't
[00:09:46] gone back and watched anything that I've seen whilst in college.
[00:09:49] I was a friend.
[00:09:50] I was a senior in high school when this season was on.
[00:09:52] Sure.
[00:09:52] I haven't seen anything more than months.
[00:09:54] Um, but then you watch the episodes that I watched all two of them.
[00:09:57] Um, and you realize, Oh, this is like really fun.
[00:10:00] Like there it's, it's fun to root against.
[00:10:01] It's very quotable.
[00:10:03] People are fighting.
[00:10:04] I know people, people get on the new era that it's like a love fest.
[00:10:07] And like, I don't say, I don't stand by that.
[00:10:10] I think it's funny.
[00:10:11] I really liked the intricate gameplay that goes on, but I do understand why this appeals
[00:10:15] to folks.
[00:10:16] And I get like, I love this.
[00:10:17] I want, I want more of just the read yelling at Missy and Missy yelling back.
[00:10:22] Like, I think that's all.
[00:10:22] I think Jacqueline and John bickering like a, any dating couple would.
[00:10:27] Yeah.
[00:10:27] And Alec flirted like a weird challenge situation happened.
[00:10:30] A lot of this episode.
[00:10:32] Yeah.
[00:10:32] Trying to get into that challenger spot.
[00:10:34] He wants to be one of the rap boys on the rotation.
[00:10:37] Sure.
[00:10:37] I think that's like, I mean, that's fun.
[00:10:40] That's really, it's really fun.
[00:10:41] I was, I was enthralled in the time that I was watching.
[00:10:44] Um, so I'm excited to talk, uh, talk through it, talk about it.
[00:10:47] Do you need any, do you need any kind of recap of what's happened on San Juan del Sur this,
[00:10:52] this, thus far?
[00:10:53] Do you think you pretty much got it?
[00:10:54] I think I got it.
[00:10:55] I was, I was confused for those, for those listening.
[00:10:58] Um, I was confused at the intricacies of the prior tribal council.
[00:11:02] So when we get, when we get to this episode, we're seeing the fallout from West being voted
[00:11:05] off.
[00:11:06] I was last, last week's was stick to the plan.
[00:11:09] Uh, and he blows it up.
[00:11:11] Yeah.
[00:11:11] He blows it up.
[00:11:12] But then since then I've, I've been on board.
[00:11:14] Um, and I've just been watching like, you know, it's like old survivor.
[00:11:18] And this is, this is, this is the days of your, this is, you know, I'm on my basement
[00:11:22] couch watching this.
[00:11:23] Does it feel bad at all that this is days of your, that this is like, that this is now
[00:11:28] like, cause this is like part of like the classic record.
[00:11:31] Do we consider San Juan del Sur part of the classic record?
[00:11:34] I think I do.
[00:11:35] I think I do as well.
[00:11:37] I think anything post, I mean, pre did you see what I skied in earlier?
[00:11:41] Uh, a couple of days ago, Brandon, I, I, I segmented survivor out into eras.
[00:11:47] I think I figured out the eras of survivor for me.
[00:11:49] Are you ready?
[00:11:50] Please.
[00:11:50] This is what I think survivor one through 10 is preschool survivor 11 through 20.
[00:11:58] We're an elementary school.
[00:11:59] We're now starting to learn stuff.
[00:12:01] There's idols in play.
[00:12:02] Like now you actually have homework a little bit, tiny bit as you go deeper into it.
[00:12:07] We're in middle school for survivor 21 to 30.
[00:12:10] So right now we're in middle school.
[00:12:12] We're like about to graduate, to go to high school.
[00:12:15] Mm-hmm survivors survivors, survivors thirties.
[00:12:18] That's high school.
[00:12:19] Sometimes a little shitty and kind of hard.
[00:12:21] Yeah.
[00:12:22] You get low points.
[00:12:23] You get low points.
[00:12:24] We all were there.
[00:12:25] I know.
[00:12:25] Sometimes it's just kind of difficult and your era are you're in the college years.
[00:12:29] Right now the forties are the college years.
[00:12:32] And then who knows what, what, what is in store for us in 50 and beyond.
[00:12:36] But you're in the college years where like probes is technically there, but like daddy's
[00:12:40] gone.
[00:12:41] The rules are out the window.
[00:12:43] Here's a shot in the dark.
[00:12:45] All of these, you know, massive twists that we wouldn't have gotten away with before
[00:12:50] you were sent off on your own.
[00:12:51] Those are the eras of survivor for me, which means San Juan del Sur firmly middle school
[00:12:57] end of middle school kissing high school.
[00:13:00] Yes.
[00:13:00] Yeah.
[00:13:00] You can see graduation.
[00:13:02] Graduation's right there.
[00:13:03] There a couple months.
[00:13:05] You get in trouble.
[00:13:05] You're not going to the graduation dance.
[00:13:07] You know what I mean?
[00:13:08] That's there.
[00:13:08] They're holding that over your head.
[00:13:09] You don't get to walk at graduation.
[00:13:10] You don't get to, but it is like, this is like watching to me.
[00:13:13] I just saw, I think a tick tock or, or a skeet about like watching movies now from the
[00:13:19] nineties is like, Oh, movies were just better in the nineties.
[00:13:22] There are great movies from the nineties, but I don't know.
[00:13:25] Everything now was like a remake or whatever, like in movies.
[00:13:27] I don't think survivors doing that, but I watched this with the same reverence that
[00:13:31] I'd watch a Shawshank or a Forrest Gump is like, this was really good, but you know,
[00:13:34] back then.
[00:13:35] And it makes you feel like it's back then also.
[00:13:37] Yeah.
[00:13:37] As opposed to seeing like, whatever they're rebooting Cinderella or I don't know what they're
[00:13:41] doing now, but they're doing something.
[00:13:44] Probably.
[00:13:44] I'm not in it.
[00:13:45] Are you in it?
[00:13:46] Did you get a call?
[00:13:46] I wouldn't tell you if I was.
[00:13:48] Everybody in the survival world right now is, is figuring out who got called for the
[00:13:52] Cinderella.
[00:13:53] That's the, that's the gossip behind the scenes.
[00:13:56] All right.
[00:13:56] We've got an episode.
[00:13:57] It was two hours.
[00:13:58] It was two episodes back to back.
[00:14:01] It was 10 years ago, 10 years ago, the two hour back to back.
[00:14:05] This would be only a slightly longer episode of survivor these days.
[00:14:09] Uh, and we are going to open up on the other side of the stick to the plan.
[00:14:15] Uh, and read is like, Oh no, that I've been blown up.
[00:14:19] They know that the, the girls are about to get angry.
[00:14:22] Reed says nothing worse than a bunch of angry girls.
[00:14:24] Uh, and meanwhile, John and Jacqueline previewing what will come up later in the episode.
[00:14:31] This is like sort of like the starting line of a little bit of the lovers quarrel that
[00:14:36] we're going to get into with John and Jacqueline.
[00:14:39] Uh, what you may not remember from the previous tribal is when Keith says stick to the plan
[00:14:45] and everyone's kind of a little frazzled of what's going on.
[00:14:47] Natalie's the one that tells John play your idol.
[00:14:50] Uh, and then he does.
[00:14:52] And I guess Jacqueline's like, wow, good read Nat.
[00:14:55] And John says, no, you can't do that.
[00:14:59] Don't give credit.
[00:15:00] That's mine.
[00:15:01] And Jacqueline's like, well, what if it's me in the final three?
[00:15:04] Which it will be at some point, but a little bit, it's just like all beginning stages,
[00:15:09] beginning stages, some trouble in paradise.
[00:15:11] What's interesting about that, that argument that I found was like, this is just any argument
[00:15:17] with it, like between a couple, like obviously the situation is different, but like you,
[00:15:21] everybody has been there.
[00:15:22] Everybody's lived that or seen it happen, you know?
[00:15:25] And it's just interesting to see now through the course of this next two hours,
[00:15:28] they're going to argue many more times, really a lot more times.
[00:15:30] When I think back on the Sam Wendelser season, I'm like, oh, like in John and Jacqueline were arguing,
[00:15:36] but I didn't realize that I was going to be watching.
[00:15:37] This is, I think the thick of it. I think it's less, you know, from this,
[00:15:41] but I can't believe that survivor never did this again with like, this is fun TV for me.
[00:15:48] I enjoyed this immensely.
[00:15:49] I think it adds a layer of personal conflict to a show and a format that I love so much more than I
[00:15:54] think a father and son or a mother daughter, or like, you know, you get dating, especially a dating couple.
[00:16:00] They're still figuring each other out.
[00:16:01] They're young.
[00:16:02] It's fun.
[00:16:03] I liked it.
[00:16:04] Do we, are you, are you advocating for like a, like a survivor love is blind sort of situation?
[00:16:11] Like some sort of like, uh, uh, like, so it's like blood versus water, but specific,
[00:16:17] specifically romance is what you're after.
[00:16:19] I think I want, if we were going to do blood versus water again, I, again, and I, I love that.
[00:16:23] We've got beautiful father and son, mother, daughter, cousin relationships out of love versus water.
[00:16:27] But like, I think we, we cap it to people in relation.
[00:16:31] Yeah. I think it's more fun with the relation.
[00:16:33] And I think that like John and Jacqueline gives a different insight as somebody like Jeremy and Val,
[00:16:37] if Jeremy and Val are at this stage, I don't think they're handling this same issue issue in quotes with,
[00:16:43] with as the same way as, and I think that's interesting.
[00:16:46] Um, so I think, yeah, if you're ever going to do it again, I think you get a couple, you get a couple dating couples.
[00:16:51] You have to vet them. Like, I don't want anybody who's like mean, but like, you know, you want to, you want to, you know, you want to stress,
[00:16:57] you want to stress them a little bit. Right.
[00:17:00] The, uh, if this had happened in the thirties, you know, this is called like survivor head versus heart or something.
[00:17:07] And just, it's hard. Just unbelievable like that. Uh, yeah, I think there's a head versus heart something.
[00:17:13] Um, and then we're never doing blood versus water again though. Right. Cause now we're just in the numericals.
[00:17:18] No more themes ever. No more themes ever. I don't know if I, I would bet we're not always numbers.
[00:17:23] I bet maybe we're numbers, but we're numbers. 50, I think 50 resets.
[00:17:27] I think fit. I think we're all, you're going to see survivor 51. No doubt ski. You're going to see one, but is there a, is there a subtitle?
[00:17:34] I think so. I think 50 will have a subtitle and then we will go into subtitles.
[00:17:40] I think that's driver 51, the new, new era, the new, new era. And even if there's something like, like that, like, like, like out for blood or like you, it doesn't need to meet like these didn't meet blood versus water is nothing.
[00:17:52] It doesn't mean anything, you know, but I think that we're going to see more of.
[00:17:56] More branding, right? We're doing some workshopping right now. Branding Donlin is what we're on.
[00:18:01] So it's what my PR company is called. If you're interested at the moment, I'm very interested.
[00:18:07] I would love to get my cell number. I think that I would like more of that for sure. And then you can like, if you have a brand, if you, if you brand yourself, you know, I'm not, I'm not saying anything that you're not going to learn in marketing one-on-one, but like go silent. You can ghost theme it. Right?
[00:18:20] Like, like if you have a fun name, you can, you can do more stuff. You got a blood theme. We got a, a phlebotomist to try my counselor.
[00:18:26] You've got that. Well, we've tried that with leaf. Uh, I don't know if we're, if we're going to do it again, I would bring leaf back. Uh, why not?
[00:18:33] Uh, but we, we get a lot of blood here in this reward challenge, which I always remember fondly and then realize why I don't remember it that fondly. Ultimately it is. Is this the final appearance of the coconut chop? I think maybe the end of the coconut chop here.
[00:18:51] I, I would bet Hundo P. I think if there's, if it did happen again, it was in worlds apart, but I don't think that's, I think this ended this kind of challenge, which in my head, Mandela effect, this was a touchy subjects, but it was, this is trivia about where was this for you? Your boy would have loved everybody else.
[00:19:09] This was essentially, it's essentially fallen comrades with the coconut chop, uh, where it's like, uh, how well do you know the previous people in the game? Like who else other than Natalie has a twin? Everyone gets this right. It's Jeremy, except for Keith who writes Jacks and everyone's with an X. It's like, who's Jacks? Like why? That's the main character from sons of anarchy. My favorite show other than this one. Uh, and he doesn't get that right. Uh, and then it's like, who owns a tanning salon?
[00:19:39] It's Julie. Uh, and I feel like we don't get more questions than that. Uh, because this is going to be a challenge that ends prematurely. Uh, it is for reward. The reward is an overnight with a horseback ride, brownies, brownies and barbecue.
[00:19:59] Yeah. I did write down in my notes that I really liked seeing Jeff like read this as if it's on a teleprompter when it's an objectively like really, really good reward versus now really having to like ham up and sell the reward. That's like, it's fine. Like, I think that like his delivery here is like, you're going to go overnight. You're going to have a brownie. You're going to have a couple of brownies. You know, if there's no change in the face, but now it's like, you're having fucking celery.
[00:20:26] Yeah. And then he's like, yeah, I like that a lot.
[00:20:29] The celeriac puree, you know, like he's like going to go nuts. Yeah. Like this is maybe, uh, something I haven't had a chance to really talk about, but like Jeff back during this era, uh, and watching, watching this season specifically, uh, it feels like he's not online yet.
[00:20:46] Like he feels like he feels so quiet. He feels so soft in relation to the Jeff of today, who I think he just did an interview with, with Dalton, uh, not terribly long ago, Dalton Ross, uh, and said like, I'm just having more fun now. Like, I like to like be like a little mischievous Jeff. I like to like, uh, like twiddle my, like twirl my mustache at tribal council. Now, is that really doing a ton of that?
[00:21:14] I feel like this is like Jeff Probst film actor versus who he becomes, which is like Jeff Probst stage performer. Like you have to play broad, big, broad emotions. Like you're trying to hit the back of the house. No subtlety. Subtlety is here for Jeff Probst. Now it's not really here in the forties anymore.
[00:21:36] No. And I hot take is a hot take. I like it much more now. I think it's fun. I like it. He's, he's a funny guy.
[00:21:45] Like this is where I always feel weird. Like, I feel like sort of like, uh, like, uh, like false when I'm like, uh, I think, I think it's really fun right now. Like, I think it's really fun right now. I think like it blends together. Uh, you know, it blends. How many times have I asked you, uh, which season you were on again? Like, I need to like, I need to check.
[00:22:04] Yeah. Which one was it? I was 44. You were 40. I was got it, got it, got it, got it, got it. Um, but I, yeah, I mean, it's like it blends together, but he like, he is like this insane person that's binding it together. Uh, and he is like fully in his ringmaster era. Uh, and, and it's fun, but I, but I also do think subtly angry Probst as we will, we will see here.
[00:22:27] And we've seen a few times here throughout San Juan del Sur is going to continue, but I, I remember this challenge fondly because it's coconut chop.
[00:22:34] And the thing is going to drop on a skull that's filled with blood, like oozing with blood. Is this the first time they had done it like this?
[00:22:43] Or had they done this for the previous blood versus water?
[00:22:46] I do not recall. I think this is the first time with, I could be wrong. Everything I say, I'm, I'm probably wrong, but I think they don't trust us.
[00:22:54] Don't try. Don't trust me. Brandon Donlin. You can trust that. That's all science, but this you can't trust.
[00:22:58] Don't trust Brandon, not Brandon. I think this is the first sign of blood. And I, I, I hate blood. I don't like looking at blood. I like that. I have it.
[00:23:07] I don't want to lose my own. I love having blood. Yeah. I'm so happy that I've got that.
[00:23:15] I'm fucked if I don't have blood. Um, but I don't, I don't like looking at it. This, I know, I know that guy's dead. So I don't, I don't have to, I mean, it's not a real guy.
[00:23:23] Those weren't real skulls. I don't want to put that out there, but I don't like, I don't know.
[00:23:27] I don't know. Maybe they like got like actual skulls and just like pumped them, pumped them full of, pumped them full of the juice.
[00:23:33] Uh, but it's very visceral. Uh, the, the, the coconuts fall on the heads and like they, they get squashed and it's, it's just like a terrific combination of everything you love from like Kierhofer's crazy mechanic machinations to, uh, you know, uh, Zach Jensen and the art department and everything there that looks so good.
[00:23:57] Blood oozing out of the skull. And these people end up just starting to throw the challenge because they're like going to do the classic thing. Coconut chop is a great classic challenge.
[00:24:08] This is the reason why strategy, uh, exists in some way, shape or form. I would say with Marquesas, this turns that game.
[00:24:16] This is a big challenge that features in the wait for it evolution of strategy on survivor. Um, but it, uh, also, I guess like how many times can you do this where it's going to have any outcome?
[00:24:27] That's sort of different from like, I'm just going to pick my friends.
[00:24:31] Yeah. I mean, if you have an, like we're looking at, if you have an alliance of five people and then a minority of three, once the three people are out, who really, I mean, I guess Jacqueline cares in this instance, or maybe didn't have the foresight to care at that point because, you know, she'd maybe didn't expect to not go on set reward, but you have like an alliance of five at that point.
[00:24:49] It doesn't really matter.
[00:24:50] Not really.
[00:24:51] You know, you just like who, who cares, which I understand that I'd still like your own survivor. I like, and I'm not saying this to chastise the people who did this.
[00:24:58] Like I want to, I want to keep chopping stuff. I want to keep answering questions. It's fine.
[00:25:02] But I understand the, I understand the thinking here. Um, and I remember Jeff being much more mad in my head. Jeff was so mad at this. And then here he was like, let's just like, it almost like he felt like he was, he, he was mad, but he got it as opposed to, I thought he was maybe not irrationally mad, but I thought he was more expressively mad.
[00:25:18] So my, my feeling is at this point, Jeff is like resigned and used to it that this season has been, uh, a train wreck, uh, for him up to this point.
[00:25:29] Uh, he's had like, he had like, uh, he had like the drew Christie negotiations earlier in the season. Uh, they lose the Flint, they get a new one. They find the old Flint.
[00:25:39] They want to trade it in. Then this tribe's eating all the rice and he tells them I've never had to help anyone the way I've had to help you a player quits.
[00:25:47] Now they're just throwing the challenge. Basically. He's just tired. I think Jeff is tired.
[00:25:53] I don't think production loves this season while it's happening. Uh, because I think that, uh, for like the strategy heads and like the game heads, uh, both in the fandom.
[00:26:05] And then I think making the show aren't getting what they want here, even though like theoretically what they're doing here, uh, it's, you know, uh, we lose, uh, we lose Alec, uh, Reed, uh, and Keith right away.
[00:26:18] And then it's the rest of them just deciding what order they want to go in, who wants to go on the reward and who wants to go to exile. And Jeff stops it. Um, like it's not bad strategy. Like strategically, like this Alliance, uh, other than the fact that like Natalie is looking to blow it up from the inside is like a, it's, it's good strategy, but maybe they think it's bad TV, even though I think it actually is terrific TV. Uh, it's fantastic television.
[00:26:45] Oh, and I mean, I think any people think that quitting is bad. Like I don't, I, I, I wouldn't, but I, I think it's fantastic. Anything that is different format that has been on for 25 years, I'm into it.
[00:26:57] You know, I, I, if I think I tweeted it years before I was everyone survivor, which is like quitting survivors. Interesting. I think that like I watch survivor for human stories and personal relationships, leaving the thing that you work so hard to get to is fundamentally interesting.
[00:27:12] And more interesting to me than a seven, one vote against somebody that like, there was no real strategy before. Like, I think let's just do different shit. Um, and this was a different, like, I remember this challenge because of this thing, as opposed to like, you're going to see, I mean, you already watched it if you're listening to this, but there's three other challenges that are just the same challenges that we've seen in the merge eras of survivor.
[00:27:33] Um, that you don't remember because nothing, nothing happened.
[00:27:36] Yeah.
[00:27:38] This episode of Rob is a podcast is sponsored by amaze fit makers of the T-Rex three smartwatch. Now any survivor player worth their salt is looking to up their game. And that is exactly what I have done with the T-Rex three. You don't get to be a knowingist, know it all without a smartwatch. And I've had some other ones. And let me say what I love the most about the T-Rex three is that it has a smartwatch.
[00:28:06] It has a 27 day battery day, not hour. I'm not supposed to say this, but some of these other watches, you're lucky if you get 27 hours, 27 days, that's longer than a season of survivor. And it tracks all these different activities, whether I'm walking, it picks it up automatically. There are things that it can track that I would never do like skydiving or snorkeling.
[00:28:33] It's amazing. It's amazing. All the things that it can track. Plus it has an AI assistant that also you wear right on your wrist. And what I also love is that it looks great too. It looks like a real watch and not like I've got this black square that I'm just wearing on my wrist where I look like a child. I actually look like an adult wearing a watch.
[00:28:52] So check out the T-Rex three by Amazfit at major retailers like Best Buy, Target, Walmart, or Amazon, or get 15% off with our special code at us.amazefit.com slash Rob. That's 15% off when you go to us.amazfit.com slash Rob.
[00:29:17] Something happens in this challenge. That's terrific. A great moment. Up until now, Reed has been biting his tongue, Brandon. He's been holding back. No more. He will hold back no longer. Reed has played nice long enough. Last week, he gives up his spot on the reward to give it to Missy to further entrench himself in that alliance so that he can take them out from the inside.
[00:29:44] It didn't work. He got caught. And now he has no buffs left to give. And here he is getting into a fight with Baylor.
[00:29:55] Because I'm a people person, Baylor. You're a brat.
[00:29:58] Excuse me? Did you just call her a brat?
[00:30:01] She's being a brat.
[00:30:03] She's being brat, Brandon.
[00:30:06] I mean, she's not being brat.
[00:30:08] This is a question that Rob and I had last week. Is Baylor brat? And I think we were quick to say, I don't think so.
[00:30:15] Baylor's not. Baylor's not. Baylor would hate everything that a brat has to say.
[00:30:19] Like, if you told Baylor right now. Yeah. Baylor's not brat.
[00:30:22] Baylor has a song, I think, called Jesus Happened, which is not super brat.
[00:30:26] Is that true? I don't think that got the same play as Sticky Situation.
[00:30:30] No, no, it didn't. I know Sticky Situation's great.
[00:30:33] But Jesus Happened, I think, is maybe a great song. I haven't listened. Again, nobody sent it to me.
[00:30:38] What does it go? Do we have lyrics available for Jesus Happened?
[00:30:42] I'm sure there's lyrics.
[00:30:43] I just know. I've seen it.
[00:30:44] You're my sweet sensation. Jesus H. Christ happened.
[00:30:50] Interesting.
[00:30:51] He's kind of just doing the same thing.
[00:30:53] It doesn't stop there, though.
[00:30:56] The fight continues. Here's more from this fight.
[00:30:59] That's my kid.
[00:31:00] Girl, I know it's your kid.
[00:31:02] It's a girl. She's a mom.
[00:31:05] She's a mom.
[00:31:07] I wrote that down. That's so funny.
[00:31:08] She's not a girl.
[00:31:09] Not a girl.
[00:31:10] She's a mom.
[00:31:13] Yeah, she is.
[00:31:15] She sure is.
[00:31:16] How do you feel about Missy?
[00:31:18] I've been out here every week with a big take about Missy, but I don't want to influence you.
[00:31:23] I just want to know what your feelings are on Missy.
[00:31:26] I think Missy's, I think, fun TV.
[00:31:30] I don't know if Missy is as fun without Baylor, but I like them together.
[00:31:35] Okay.
[00:31:35] I think that they add something.
[00:31:37] If they were to be on a second chance ballot, they'd have to come as a pair.
[00:31:41] You can't just vote Missy.
[00:31:43] You have to vote Missy and Baylor.
[00:31:46] The UK shows.
[00:31:47] The UK reality shows.
[00:31:48] Big Brother UK.
[00:31:49] Yeah.
[00:31:50] A couple of the other ones.
[00:31:50] They do this.
[00:31:51] They send in a duo.
[00:31:53] Okay.
[00:31:53] You play, you are one entity.
[00:31:56] They play as one.
[00:31:57] Yeah.
[00:31:57] Big Brother Canada did it once.
[00:31:59] They have one vote.
[00:32:00] They have one vote.
[00:32:02] You can only vote for them as a combined thing.
[00:32:04] You can't get it.
[00:32:04] If you hate Missy, you can't just vote her out if you love Baylor.
[00:32:08] You have to vote them both.
[00:32:09] You are one.
[00:32:10] The winner of Survivor 58, Baylor Missy.
[00:32:14] You're voting for one thing.
[00:32:16] I don't think they win.
[00:32:17] But I think that that's a, if I were to pick a return thing for them, they got to come together.
[00:32:24] What's your-
[00:32:24] I've been saying that they screwed up and they should have put Missy on the second chance ballot.
[00:32:30] I want Missy for second chance.
[00:32:32] She's great TV.
[00:32:33] She's great TV.
[00:32:35] Again, I don't want to pivot off of Missy, who's great.
[00:32:38] I wrote down in my notes.
[00:32:39] It is crazy that there's been no more Reed.
[00:32:42] There's no return of Reed.
[00:32:43] No Reed.
[00:32:44] You watch this and Reed, there are people like Josh, who is lovely in the same season,
[00:32:49] who has such a, you can tell in the pre-merge, has such an aptitude for the game.
[00:32:53] He gets sniped early because he has such an aptitude for the game.
[00:32:56] And then he is like, not lost to the history of Survivor.
[00:32:59] Josh could easily come back.
[00:33:00] But Reed, given three, four more episodes than Josh did, Reed gets to do stuff like that.
[00:33:05] Reed is not only has that same aptitude, but he's really fun.
[00:33:09] And more of like, I can't believe you've had second chance.
[00:33:12] Granted, there were three people from this season on that ballot.
[00:33:15] So I understand Reed maybe missed it.
[00:33:17] You have game, throw Reed on game changers.
[00:33:19] Yeah.
[00:33:20] We didn't need Beast Mode Cowboy on that.
[00:33:22] No, no, no.
[00:33:23] We didn't need the other fucking guy.
[00:33:25] No, no, no.
[00:33:26] It would have been all right.
[00:33:27] I would have been thrilled to get Reed back.
[00:33:29] I feel like specifically the Hunapu tribe has yielded some terrific Survivor players in, of course, Natalie will win this season.
[00:33:40] Keith, long may he reign, an icon in second chance.
[00:33:45] Certainly Jeremy's going to win it.
[00:33:48] Wentworth goes real deep.
[00:33:50] I think that Missy, as one of the other Hunapus, who hasn't gotten another shot, could go deep.
[00:33:59] Is this the right avenue for Missy?
[00:34:02] Would we rather put her on something else?
[00:34:04] Or would we want her on Survivor?
[00:34:06] Is Missy a traitor?
[00:34:07] I think the window has passed.
[00:34:09] And even I must admit this.
[00:34:10] I think too much time has passed.
[00:34:13] There's no chance.
[00:34:14] But I like your idea.
[00:34:16] I think a Missy Baylor as a single person would have been interesting.
[00:34:20] So this argument happens.
[00:34:23] Then Probst gets mad and he forces the challenge to stop.
[00:34:26] And they just all decide like, OK, well, why don't we just stop it now?
[00:34:29] Who wins?
[00:34:29] Who's going to win?
[00:34:30] Who do you want to win?
[00:34:31] Is it Missy?
[00:34:33] OK, Missy.
[00:34:33] And then who do you want to bring?
[00:34:35] Baylor, obviously.
[00:34:36] She's going to bring my kid on my reward.
[00:34:41] And then she's also going to bring Natalie.
[00:34:43] But this is after they've sent John to exile.
[00:34:47] He's already like he's packed.
[00:34:49] He's ready to go.
[00:34:50] It's very quick.
[00:34:51] And then once he's gone, she picks she picks Baylor.
[00:34:55] She picks Nat.
[00:34:56] And the guys immediately like, well, that's just uncool to Jacqueline.
[00:35:00] I can't believe you would leave Jacqueline out like that.
[00:35:02] And Jacqueline's kind of like, yeah, I can't believe you'd leave me out of it.
[00:35:06] And we've got like a little bit of a sticky situation here.
[00:35:11] Brandon.
[00:35:11] It's like I stepped in gum.
[00:35:12] Yeah.
[00:35:13] Honey in my hair.
[00:35:14] Honey in your hair.
[00:35:15] Honey barbecue in your hair.
[00:35:17] HBB.
[00:35:18] I think this is not a bad move.
[00:35:21] In a hypothetical situation, this could have worked for Jacqueline.
[00:35:25] You know, if you get if you get John to swap, which like obviously, you know, retrospective would have been fun.
[00:35:30] But it's not a bad ploy.
[00:35:33] You know, I don't.
[00:35:34] It is a hard thing to like they had to leave.
[00:35:37] So like that's that's why it's designed.
[00:35:38] Like is he got to bring you got to bring to be, you know, the numbers.
[00:35:41] They work out the numbers.
[00:36:10] Yeah.
[00:36:12] Island.
[00:36:13] He's going to have a very exhausted time on Exile Island, but he's going to find another idol.
[00:36:18] So good for John just when he needs it.
[00:36:20] He feels like he's the biggest threat out here.
[00:36:22] So he's got to protect himself.
[00:36:23] So he's got another idol in his pocket.
[00:36:26] Meanwhile, at this horseback reward, the girls are kind of trash talking Jacqueline a little bit.
[00:36:33] It's like, oh, her little feelings.
[00:36:35] We've got to worry about those.
[00:36:37] We've got to worry about her feelings.
[00:36:38] She's a little bit of a princess.
[00:36:39] This is a princess.
[00:36:40] These guys might be able to sway her.
[00:36:42] We'll have to watch out for it.
[00:36:44] But good news.
[00:36:45] We also have an idol.
[00:36:47] And so Natalie and Baylor are going to tell Missy we've got an idol.
[00:36:52] Missy's really proud of Baylor specifically.
[00:36:54] She's playing the game and I'm going to pat her on the butt the whole way through it is what she says.
[00:37:01] Yeah.
[00:37:01] I don't I don't dig that.
[00:37:03] Right.
[00:37:03] Keep your hands to yourself.
[00:37:04] Definitely.
[00:37:05] Keep it to yourself.
[00:37:06] Yeah.
[00:37:07] Hands off the table.
[00:37:08] Hands off the butt.
[00:37:09] I think like you've always said that.
[00:37:12] That's that's what I used to tell people.
[00:37:15] Like watch the merchandise, folks.
[00:37:18] Back at tribal back at camp, rather.
[00:37:21] They're Reed and the guys.
[00:37:23] They're like really laying it on thick as in like a thick globule of rice in a coconut shell.
[00:37:32] This is like a huge serving.
[00:37:35] Jacqueline said, I can't eat this.
[00:37:36] I literally can't eat it.
[00:37:38] She said, you can.
[00:37:38] I literally can't eat that.
[00:37:40] It's way too much.
[00:37:42] Was it like was it like morally?
[00:37:43] I can't or like physically.
[00:37:45] I cannot eat that much rice.
[00:37:47] A great question.
[00:37:48] You'd hope you'd hope morally because fit like it's a you know.
[00:37:51] You're hungry.
[00:37:52] You're a survivor.
[00:37:52] You're hungry.
[00:37:53] But has your stomach shrunk so much that like that?
[00:37:55] I would be worried.
[00:37:56] That looked like for those who did watch the episode, it really looked like a big pile of glue.
[00:38:02] Yeah.
[00:38:03] With like uncooked rice in it.
[00:38:05] Costco sells like personal instant rices that are like yay big.
[00:38:10] And then you kind of plop them.
[00:38:11] It looked like that.
[00:38:12] It was about that size, which I know that's I think three hundred eighty calories.
[00:38:16] So you're getting you're getting a big.
[00:38:18] Granted, I didn't do the measurement, but I figure it's similar.
[00:38:22] Yeah.
[00:38:22] So it's a good it's a good calorie boost.
[00:38:25] And they're hoping that that's going to be enough to kind of sway Jack and her.
[00:38:29] She says she knows that they're all just being nice.
[00:38:33] But my ears are open.
[00:38:34] I'm listening.
[00:38:35] I'm listening.
[00:38:37] A great personal favorite moment of mine from this episode is the next morning.
[00:38:43] The women come back from the ranch that they that they slept over at.
[00:38:48] And Keith gets one look at them.
[00:38:50] You know, they're all wondering what they're going to be like.
[00:38:51] Did they shower?
[00:38:52] Did they do anything?
[00:38:53] Keith goes, well, they look the same as the day before.
[00:38:59] So they look fine.
[00:39:00] They don't like they don't look well rested.
[00:39:03] They don't look anything.
[00:39:05] And then Alec starts a different strategy.
[00:39:11] Alec starts to get into a territory that maybe on Survivor head versus heart, you would see some of it, which is like a little bit of a little partner swapping.
[00:39:23] We get this montage of Alec and Jacqueline kind of flirting with each other, sort of.
[00:39:31] If Alex says, oh, yeah, come on to downtown Orlando.
[00:39:35] I got to show you downtown Orlando.
[00:39:38] Me and Drew will show you a hell of a time.
[00:39:40] You can come down.
[00:39:41] You won't have to pay for a hotel.
[00:39:44] Jacqueline says, oh, yeah, we'll go out and then get food after.
[00:39:49] That's the plan.
[00:39:50] They're making plans, Brandon.
[00:39:51] These aren't plans for the vote.
[00:39:53] These are plans for a couple of weeks from now.
[00:39:57] This is.
[00:39:58] Yeah.
[00:39:58] One.
[00:39:59] Let's like downtown Orlando is not fun.
[00:40:01] Let's dispel that immediately.
[00:40:03] You got to see it.
[00:40:04] You got to go to downtown Orlando.
[00:40:06] It's got everything.
[00:40:07] That's crazy.
[00:40:08] There's there's buildings.
[00:40:11] Yeah.
[00:40:11] Streets.
[00:40:12] Traffic lights.
[00:40:13] Over there.
[00:40:13] Like it's somewhere.
[00:40:14] It's nothing.
[00:40:15] There's food.
[00:40:16] There's 11 more cities in Florida that I think are more fun.
[00:40:19] There's downtown Orlando.
[00:40:21] There's there's seats you could sit in.
[00:40:24] You got plenty of seats.
[00:40:25] Go to.
[00:40:25] So many seats.
[00:40:27] But this is.
[00:40:28] Yeah, it's an interesting strategy and not, you know, he's Alex saying like you can come.
[00:40:33] It's not.
[00:40:34] You can come.
[00:40:36] It's not a we'll have a grant.
[00:40:37] It's not a double date if it's if it's two brothers, but it's, you know, where it's not
[00:40:40] a.
[00:40:41] That's a real very uncomfortable challengers situation.
[00:40:44] And in the Christie's keep that one.
[00:40:47] I don't need to.
[00:40:47] I don't want it.
[00:40:48] This is this is something that they're like, hey, you can you.
[00:40:52] You know, when this is done, ditch that guy.
[00:40:55] Yeah.
[00:40:55] You come down.
[00:40:56] You come down.
[00:40:57] You hang with me.
[00:40:58] He describes his tactic kind of interestingly here.
[00:41:01] Let's let's listen to this sound clip.
[00:41:02] I like cream cheese.
[00:41:04] You know, cream cheese.
[00:41:05] You can't hurt many things by putting cream cheese on it.
[00:41:07] He says flirting is like cream cheese.
[00:41:10] Sure.
[00:41:11] You can't hurt many things by putting cream cheese on it.
[00:41:14] Can we fact check that?
[00:41:17] Yeah.
[00:41:17] Name any food.
[00:41:18] And it's wrong.
[00:41:19] I think they name any food.
[00:41:20] It's not like a bagel or bread product.
[00:41:22] I guess cake icing is cream cheese or you do a cream cheese frosting is totally fine.
[00:41:28] Uh, cream cheese on a taco.
[00:41:31] Yeah, I don't want that at all.
[00:41:32] I think that sounds horrible.
[00:41:34] Like a thick schmear of cream cheese on a taco.
[00:41:37] Yeah.
[00:41:37] There's a guy on TikTok who goes to bodegas and he's like, let me get a half pound of cream cheese.
[00:41:42] And then they're like, what?
[00:41:42] And that's it?
[00:41:43] Everywhere.
[00:41:44] Yeah.
[00:41:44] That's a whole bit.
[00:41:44] It's very funny.
[00:41:45] Does he eat it?
[00:41:46] Because he eats it.
[00:41:47] Yeah.
[00:41:48] And people get out a little.
[00:41:49] It feels like he's, uh, he's flirting with his followers a little bit by, uh, posting that cream cheese.
[00:41:55] Yeah.
[00:41:55] Yeah.
[00:41:56] Let me get, listen.
[00:41:56] Alec Christie wants a half pound.
[00:41:57] Maybe it's him.
[00:41:58] I don't know.
[00:41:58] Alec Christie.
[00:41:59] Alec Christie loves some cream cheese.
[00:42:01] Alec Christie kind of has a secret way with words.
[00:42:03] I think, uh, you know, Drew Christie is the one who gets all the press, Brandon.
[00:42:07] He does.
[00:42:07] And it's funny because he's on for such a limited amount of time, but I really think in his own right, what a character, Alec Christie.
[00:42:16] Alec Christie is a very specific individual.
[00:42:20] It's the praise that I will leap, uh, heap upon Alec Christie.
[00:42:24] Well, and not a lot of people, you know, you can draw comparisons to folks from now and folks from the new era.
[00:42:30] Certainly not a lot of Alec Christie's, Alec Christie's one in the one.
[00:42:35] And I mean, I guess he's one of two with his brother, but even him, like we, we saw him.
[00:42:40] They only found the only other guy like him.
[00:42:42] There's only two people like Drew or Alec.
[00:42:45] They're each other, uh, is what it is on the show.
[00:42:48] We watched him.
[00:42:49] Everybody's watching this being like, what the hell is going on?
[00:42:54] And, but it's not even like that.
[00:42:56] She has a boyfriend back home.
[00:42:59] She has a boyfriend on exile Island.
[00:43:01] He's coming back here today.
[00:43:04] Yeah.
[00:43:04] Uh, and now there's eight of you left.
[00:43:05] He, he's one of them.
[00:43:07] Yeah.
[00:43:07] It's not, you're not getting away from him.
[00:43:08] It's just cream cheese, bro.
[00:43:09] It's just cream cheese.
[00:43:10] It's totally fine.
[00:43:11] Um, immunity challenge, uh, get your balls on a paddle, not a disc.
[00:43:17] Uh, Keith is going to win this.
[00:43:19] Not a lot to say about this immunity challenge.
[00:43:22] He barely beats John.
[00:43:24] Uh, Keith has a very, uh, I, I love when Keith wins challenges just cause I love all things
[00:43:28] Keith nail.
[00:43:29] Uh, I like how he wins this challenge and how he celebrates.
[00:43:32] He goes, Oh golly.
[00:43:33] And he just goes down the line and just like says all their names.
[00:43:36] Like Jacqueline, uh, Jacqueline, Alec, Nat, John.
[00:43:40] Like, he's just like, I like saying their names as he passes them.
[00:43:43] Maybe he's just trying to remind that, like remind himself who they are since he did so
[00:43:47] poorly on the coconut chop and he didn't remember things about these people.
[00:43:52] And even in second chance, spoiler alert, Keith is on second chance.
[00:43:56] He forgets names on second chance around this same time of the game.
[00:44:00] Yeah.
[00:44:01] Um, so maybe he's just having to do, it's like doing brain quests in the car on a road trip.
[00:44:05] You just gotta do something.
[00:44:07] So you don't, you gotta do it.
[00:44:08] Yeah.
[00:44:08] Keep going.
[00:44:08] Um, after the immunity challenge, this is when we get into the.
[00:44:15] Oh, you all of this.
[00:44:16] Okay.
[00:44:16] I'm sorry.
[00:44:17] I won't.
[00:44:17] Sorry.
[00:44:18] I'm sorry.
[00:44:19] Hey, Hey, Jacqueline, stop.
[00:44:23] Well, what the hell?
[00:44:24] I'm trying to tell you what happened.
[00:44:25] No, give me a second.
[00:44:26] I'm sorry.
[00:44:28] What the hell?
[00:44:29] I'm trying to tell you what happened.
[00:44:31] This is, uh, what Rob should be shouting at Stephen every time Stephen talks over him
[00:44:35] during a know-it-alls.
[00:44:37] What the hell?
[00:44:39] I'm trying to tell you what happened.
[00:44:40] This would be a great season of dating couples and five dating couples, five married couples.
[00:44:46] Easy.
[00:44:46] You know, like, that's how we split it up.
[00:44:48] Um, this is great.
[00:44:49] It's such good TV.
[00:44:52] Uh, the rest of this episode is just, uh, a rom-com gone wrong.
[00:44:58] Uh, as John has returned from exile.
[00:45:01] He's so excited.
[00:45:02] He's so happy.
[00:45:04] Little, little puppy.
[00:45:05] John is very excited to see Jacqueline.
[00:45:07] He's trying to get hugs and snuggles.
[00:45:10] Uh, and she wants to tell him what she's learned from the boys these past couple of days.
[00:45:16] And John's like, but I already knew all of that.
[00:45:18] And she said, well, then fine.
[00:45:21] Play this game without me.
[00:45:23] You don't need me.
[00:45:25] Who needs me?
[00:45:26] If you don't want to listen to me at all.
[00:45:28] And he tries to like, oh, babe, babe, babe.
[00:45:32] He tries to put his hand on it.
[00:45:33] He said, don't touch me.
[00:45:36] Don't touch me.
[00:45:39] And I was convinced they were fighting.
[00:45:41] This isn't, you know, they were fighting this, this strategy.
[00:45:44] If you're going on season 54, blood versus water three, head versus heart with the couples.
[00:45:48] Yeah.
[00:45:49] Fake fight.
[00:45:50] Fake fight all the time.
[00:45:52] Just fucking fake.
[00:45:53] But you have to make it to the, to the cameras too, right?
[00:45:56] To the, in the, in, uh, when you go off for a walk.
[00:45:59] Sure.
[00:46:00] Well, you got to tell them like, Hey, we're going to fake this.
[00:46:02] Yeah.
[00:46:02] Or you come back and then you be like, Oh, that was fake.
[00:46:05] But then there have to have been a show.
[00:46:07] They would already know.
[00:46:07] Cause you've already established on camera with your loved one.
[00:46:11] Hey, let's fake a fight.
[00:46:11] But like, it's a fake fight.
[00:46:16] You know, that's, you know, this season has happened because of the return of the dual confessional.
[00:46:20] Not a lot of two people in one confessional anymore.
[00:46:22] We don't need that back.
[00:46:23] We do.
[00:46:24] But I, nobody's suspecting this.
[00:46:26] I mean, if they did, they didn't show it, but nobody's suspecting this is fake.
[00:46:28] This is real.
[00:46:29] It's real.
[00:46:30] It's not fake.
[00:46:31] Um, I believe, uh, five hours is going to pass.
[00:46:36] Uh, John and Jacqueline will have a sit down with Reed at one point.
[00:46:39] Reed is like, John's like, Reed, I'm not buying what you're selling.
[00:46:42] Reed's like, that's fine.
[00:46:43] I can go to Missy.
[00:46:43] I just like you guys better.
[00:46:45] So like, can we work together?
[00:46:46] Uh, and then Natalie like walks in while John is sitting with, with Reed and Jacqueline so
[00:46:52] that she can like, kind of like babysit this.
[00:46:54] And, uh, John says, I'm not thinking about it.
[00:46:57] I'm not thinking about this.
[00:46:58] I won't do it.
[00:46:59] And he's like, he's like, kind of like, I'm not thinking about it at all.
[00:47:03] Yeah.
[00:47:04] There's nothing that I'm thinking of.
[00:47:05] And he's like, just like pirate eyeing her, uh, pirate eyeing Reed.
[00:47:09] Uh, and then Reed talks about how, look, if he's willing to do the wink, that's like,
[00:47:14] you know, he could, he could have gotten caught winking at me.
[00:47:17] So if he's winking at me, if he's willing to wink at me, we might be okay.
[00:47:21] We might be all right.
[00:47:23] He could have gotten caught with the wink.
[00:47:25] If it was like a good, I don't think it looked, it might not look like a wake.
[00:47:28] It might have looked like something stuck in his, stuck in his eye.
[00:47:31] I kind of wonder if that's literally what happened.
[00:47:33] It wasn't just like, like detritus in the eye.
[00:47:36] And he's just trying to get that out.
[00:47:37] Like if I just did that during the podcast, like if it 10 minutes from now, I just started
[00:47:41] doing this.
[00:47:41] You wouldn't be like, Oh, he's got something.
[00:47:43] Well, no, for the context, I would now think that you were doing it intentionally.
[00:47:46] Yeah.
[00:47:46] Like we just did two right now.
[00:47:48] And that's definitely a third.
[00:47:49] And that's definitely, uh, that was definitely deliberate.
[00:47:52] Uh, but on like on a future podcast, if like you're on with someone who's not me, uh, and
[00:47:57] I saw you wink, you know what?
[00:48:00] Honestly, I might think it's a shout out to me.
[00:48:01] So I don't actually think that you can ever blink to try to set up your eye without me
[00:48:04] thinking that you're going to be winking.
[00:48:05] I am going, that's how I know that you listened to all of my work is that I'm going to blink
[00:48:10] at a random minute in the back half of the next podcast I'm on.
[00:48:14] And I want it texted to me.
[00:48:15] I think that's, that's where we're at now.
[00:48:17] I can't believe you winked, but I won't give you a time code.
[00:48:20] That's too, uh, that's too hard.
[00:48:22] I'm not gonna, I'm not gonna do that.
[00:48:24] Um, five hours pass five hours of this.
[00:48:27] We get the, uh, five hours later and Jacqueline is like taking a five hour nap.
[00:48:33] Every time John approaches, approaches, she doesn't want to talk to him.
[00:48:38] Uh, eventually she comes to John and it's John now who's mad.
[00:48:44] Uh, like John is the ones like, oh, well now you want to talk to me.
[00:48:48] Okay.
[00:48:49] And then she walks away from that.
[00:48:50] And so it's just a whole disaster and Reed's game is hanging in the balance.
[00:48:55] Reed's life is on the line and it's all getting threatened because of a fight, a lover's quarrel.
[00:49:02] A lover's quarrel.
[00:49:03] That's what this is going to be called.
[00:49:05] We call it lover's quarrel.
[00:49:06] That's really good.
[00:49:07] It's really good.
[00:49:08] Ooh.
[00:49:10] I'm just, yeah, I don't get any money.
[00:49:12] If you guys take that, the producers, I know you're listening.
[00:49:15] Um, sorry.
[00:49:15] I out of the Cinderella reboot.
[00:49:17] Oh yeah.
[00:49:19] Lover's quarrel is a really, it's a good name.
[00:49:22] Survivor lover's quarrel.
[00:49:23] Reed was such a big character, you know, and we lose him in a really uneventful, um, couple
[00:49:29] hours.
[00:49:30] That's just, it's not tied to him.
[00:49:32] It's eventful for other folks, but he's hanging in the balance and then he goes tribal tribal
[00:49:37] is boring.
[00:49:38] Tribal is just relitigating the fight.
[00:49:40] Basically, uh, any observations from tribal for you?
[00:49:43] I don't really have much, but I mean, it's boring.
[00:49:45] Like again, boring people, people don't dig the new era.
[00:49:48] Like, is Jeff pulling out Twizzlers my favorite thing in the world?
[00:49:52] No, it's, it's, I like it more than it.
[00:49:55] This is just nothing to me.
[00:49:56] This is just like, you know, you, you go into the tribal council and you're like, oh, it's
[00:49:59] going to be Reed.
[00:50:00] And then you watch 10 minutes and it's like, oh, it's still Reed.
[00:50:02] Like it didn't, we don't go anywhere.
[00:50:04] Right.
[00:50:04] Right.
[00:50:05] Uh, we do get this vote from, uh, Missy.
[00:50:09] You have to go because you're a big rabble browser.
[00:50:11] And by the way, my child's not a brat.
[00:50:13] By the way, my kid is not a brat.
[00:50:16] Yeah.
[00:50:17] Which she kind of is, right?
[00:50:20] Yeah.
[00:50:21] She is.
[00:50:22] Yeah.
[00:50:23] Uh, it's one thing to be like, don't call my child a brat.
[00:50:28] Don't call my child a brat.
[00:50:29] To say that he's not a brat.
[00:50:31] I had a, I had a, this is federal information, but I had a teacher and like, it was my, it
[00:50:36] was my fifth grade computer teacher.
[00:50:38] Okay.
[00:50:38] And he wrote on my thing, like one of the things, I don't know if it's like a report card
[00:50:42] or whatever, but they wrote that I was lazy.
[00:50:45] Lazy.
[00:50:45] And I remember because I was just like, I'm in computer.
[00:50:48] I'm not, you know, I don't, I learned, I know how to type.
[00:50:50] I only type.
[00:50:51] Isn't computer class like, it's like, isn't it supposed to like teach you how to be like
[00:50:55] efficiently lazy?
[00:50:56] So like, if you're being lazy, aren't you doing fast, right?
[00:51:00] We're doing great.
[00:51:01] I remember my mom now.
[00:51:03] Yeah.
[00:51:03] I mean, it worked out.
[00:51:04] I didn't need that.
[00:51:05] I remember my mom telling me like, I know you're lazy, but I don't like that.
[00:51:09] She knows that you're like, it was one of the, like I, she's right, but I don't
[00:51:12] like that.
[00:51:12] She's saying that that's the Missy angle is like, I know she's a brat, but only I
[00:51:17] get to call her.
[00:51:17] Yeah.
[00:51:18] You don't get to say that.
[00:51:19] You don't get to say that.
[00:51:21] Missy's.
[00:51:22] I mean, Baylor is.
[00:51:24] Right.
[00:51:25] She's brat.
[00:51:26] I get it.
[00:51:26] She's not brat, but she's brat.
[00:51:29] Read votes for Missy.
[00:51:30] He says, this will be the only time I'll write your name down.
[00:51:33] But also I will bring up Cinderella at tribal council in a non-flattering way for
[00:51:38] you at final tribal.
[00:51:40] It's a slam dunk vote on read all votes on read.
[00:51:44] Jeff is what he says as he gets his torch snuffed.
[00:51:47] That's a good line.
[00:51:49] Bye bye read.
[00:51:49] Ouch.
[00:51:50] Jeff is good.
[00:51:50] I think.
[00:51:51] Jeff is good.
[00:51:52] Should he have said, ouch, Jeff, can I have a hug?
[00:51:56] Stop.
[00:51:57] Stop asking for hugs.
[00:51:59] You know, one of the things that we do here on Stan Wandel serves, we like to mark
[00:52:03] the ways in which history repeats itself between 10 years ago and 10 years later to the two
[00:52:11] episodes is the latest episode of Survivor 47.
[00:52:13] How is it being echoed in San Wandel, sir?
[00:52:17] And I think in this case, it's like a back to back episode.
[00:52:20] It's a supersized episode with two fairly obvious boots.
[00:52:24] And this week is a fairly obvious boot with with Kyle.
[00:52:29] Who is doing it better?
[00:52:31] The 90 minute Survivor episode where there's a very obvious boot or like the back to back
[00:52:37] to our San Wandel store where both outcomes are pretty predestined.
[00:52:44] I think I liked this better.
[00:52:47] I thought I thought the this past episode of 47, I think all of 47 is super exciting.
[00:52:53] The pre-merge, super exciting.
[00:52:54] I think the probably the most boring episode of 47 so far.
[00:52:56] That's maybe the most boring episode.
[00:52:59] Yeah, it was just it was like the like Rachel and the thing that was fun.
[00:53:04] Rachel and the thing.
[00:53:05] Super fun for me.
[00:53:06] I loved that.
[00:53:07] But just everything else.
[00:53:08] It just was it was just a flat episode for me, which doesn't happen often.
[00:53:12] And I don't think it's anybody's fault.
[00:53:14] Yeah, I think it's like, yeah, Kyle did win immunity.
[00:53:16] Kyle should go.
[00:53:17] Let's vote on Kyle.
[00:53:18] Like, I get it.
[00:53:19] But this was so much more exciting for me.
[00:53:22] And maybe that's also we're all we're factoring in nostalgia as well.
[00:53:25] I'd like seeing these guys I haven't seen in a long time.
[00:53:27] But like you get you get more personal conflict.
[00:53:31] People are me like I understand that this is like, you know, if you're watching this movie against the movie that we watched on Wednesday, I like this movie better.
[00:53:39] But that's not to say that the entire season 47 is a movie is is is any any.
[00:53:44] I can't make a conclusion off of that.
[00:53:46] And I won't.
[00:53:46] Yeah.
[00:53:47] Yeah.
[00:53:47] But yes, I prefer this much more.
[00:53:49] So we're going to get to the out Christie boot episode now.
[00:53:53] Alec says that he's sick of people thinking he's flirting.
[00:53:56] He says, I'll flirt with whoever I want.
[00:53:57] If I wanted to flirt with someone, I would flirt with whoever.
[00:54:00] But then he just tell us that flirting was like cream cheese.
[00:54:03] So he's kind of already been flirting.
[00:54:06] The next day he's talking to John, seeing like so like anything I can do.
[00:54:11] And John says, like, I got to be honest, probably sounds arrogant.
[00:54:15] No, there's nothing you can do.
[00:54:20] You're done.
[00:54:21] You're toast.
[00:54:22] Nothing you could do.
[00:54:24] John tells Alec, you won't find a crack.
[00:54:26] And then Alec winks at the camera and says bet.
[00:54:30] So if I want to find a crack, I'll find a crack.
[00:54:34] So we're already setting up out for, you know, an Alec boot episode.
[00:54:37] It's going to be minimal Alec as well.
[00:54:40] We have this reward challenge.
[00:54:43] Stand on a small block, holding a ball up against some wood.
[00:54:48] Would you be good at this?
[00:54:50] Yeah, I think so.
[00:54:52] Did you do any training like any like training of like challenges, like specific challenges before you went out to Survivor?
[00:54:58] Did you try anything that seemed likely?
[00:55:00] I had a balance board.
[00:55:02] I bought a balance board and I had a plate.
[00:55:04] I don't have the plate here, but I had a plate.
[00:55:06] I have plates.
[00:55:07] There's not one I use.
[00:55:08] And then I, you know where else they have plates downtown Orlando.
[00:55:12] Many of them.
[00:55:13] Lots of them.
[00:55:13] Actually, a cheesecake factory.
[00:55:15] You'll get your mind.
[00:55:16] I would stand on the balance board and then I had a plate and I put balls on it.
[00:55:20] And that was, I was fine at that.
[00:55:21] Yeah.
[00:55:22] I really, you know, I said it, but I was, it was, you know, stuff happened.
[00:55:27] You know, no one's asking you to defend yourself.
[00:55:29] You're fine.
[00:55:30] You're fine.
[00:55:30] This isn't about you.
[00:55:31] Ultimately.
[00:55:32] Alec Christie.
[00:55:33] Yeah.
[00:55:34] You know, I could have balanced in.
[00:55:36] Sure.
[00:55:37] Sign me up for balancing.
[00:55:38] What I would have given to balance.
[00:55:41] You got to balance this ball on the block of wood.
[00:55:44] And in exchange, you'll win a King size bed, chicken parm, spaghetti, and wine.
[00:55:51] A lot of very specific food items in the rewards this season.
[00:55:56] There was a big pastrami sandwich fiesta earlier.
[00:55:59] Yeah.
[00:56:00] I did not.
[00:56:01] I did not remember that, but I dig that.
[00:56:03] Pastrami.
[00:56:05] He, the chicken parm.
[00:56:07] I love a chicken parm, a chicken, a chicken parm on the beach.
[00:56:12] In bed.
[00:56:13] I mean, in bed.
[00:56:14] Chicken parm in bed is crazy.
[00:56:16] It's kind of nuts.
[00:56:17] Yeah.
[00:56:18] You know, it's a good thing these aren't there like permanent sheets because that bed
[00:56:22] spread is going to be covered in red wine and red sauce by the end of the night.
[00:56:26] I don't think there's a worse collective meal to eat than these things all at once.
[00:56:32] Yeah.
[00:56:32] It seems crazy.
[00:56:33] If you want to just bone your sheets, then I guess do it.
[00:56:37] It's just one night.
[00:56:37] There's just one.
[00:56:38] It's just for one night.
[00:56:39] But maybe I would have like, all right, can we not eat in the bed?
[00:56:42] Can we like eat somewhere else?
[00:56:43] But, you know, they're like, no, you have to eat this in bed.
[00:56:45] We got to get the shot.
[00:56:46] Eat in the bed.
[00:56:47] I do like this reward as just like this.
[00:56:51] I think is something that I, you know, in Caramon, they do the reward, the family reward
[00:56:55] with the people that didn't go could see.
[00:56:57] Like, I like this a lot.
[00:56:59] I understand maybe now like the just giving people a bed.
[00:57:02] I understand maybe we want to avoid that.
[00:57:04] But I think that this is like, it's a super fun.
[00:57:07] Anything that can generate conflict just because of the eyesight, I think is a lot of fun.
[00:57:11] And I'm surprised they haven't done this.
[00:57:13] Yes.
[00:57:13] And let's let's let's let's iterate on it.
[00:57:16] Let's let's come up with like a different version.
[00:57:19] Couch and a TV.
[00:57:21] Couch and a TV is exactly what I just thought.
[00:57:23] Couch TV movie.
[00:57:25] Yeah, you can kind of hear the movie to stand back a certain point.
[00:57:30] You can kind of hear it.
[00:57:32] But that I think is I think that's a great reward.
[00:57:34] We put out a rug.
[00:57:35] We make it look like it's your it's your friend's basement.
[00:57:38] You know, like I think that's a lot of fun.
[00:57:40] Yeah, you get couch.
[00:57:41] You get movie snacks.
[00:57:43] And but it has to be within eyesight.
[00:57:45] You have to be able to kind of see what the movie is.
[00:57:48] Yeah, that's like you ever drive behind somebody and their children are watching like a movie.
[00:57:53] On the headsets.
[00:57:55] And you're like, I wonder what that is.
[00:57:56] Yeah.
[00:57:56] And then you get close because you're like, is it spy kids?
[00:57:59] And it is sometimes and usually it's spy kids.
[00:58:01] Oftentimes it's not.
[00:58:02] But sometimes it is.
[00:58:04] That's what this would be like.
[00:58:05] Sometimes it's Sharkboy and Lava Girl.
[00:58:08] That happened right one time.
[00:58:10] And it was very odd.
[00:58:11] Very odd when that happened.
[00:58:12] I think like TV dinner and a TV and a couch do like put a fountain there.
[00:58:18] Do like the friends thing like they they got creative with like,
[00:58:23] the the the montage and the playing with the boys last season.
[00:58:27] They could do like they could recreate a friends thing.
[00:58:30] Are you are you is your reward.
[00:58:31] You're suggesting they recreate the theme song.
[00:58:34] Yeah.
[00:58:34] Like with the fountain.
[00:58:35] Yes.
[00:58:36] Yeah.
[00:58:36] That just seems like it's more work for for the people.
[00:58:39] Reward challenge.
[00:58:39] Reward.
[00:58:40] If you win, you get to be the stars of a parody video of the friends opening.
[00:58:51] And we can't use the Rembrandt song.
[00:58:54] So nobody will know what this is.
[00:58:56] With that song.
[00:58:57] We can't afford that song.
[00:58:58] We're going to edit it.
[00:58:59] Note perfect.
[00:59:00] The choreography is going to be exactly right.
[00:59:02] No music underneath.
[00:59:05] Silence.
[00:59:06] Only silence.
[00:59:07] It's a friend intro, but it's dry.
[00:59:11] It's the dry friends intro.
[00:59:14] Can I make I'm going to make the quickest aside.
[00:59:17] Everybody listening.
[00:59:18] This is going to be 30 seconds.
[00:59:19] Just skip through this.
[00:59:21] This past week on dance with the stars.
[00:59:23] Two of the folks that were there dance to the theme song of friends.
[00:59:26] OK.
[00:59:27] All right.
[00:59:27] I'll be there for you.
[00:59:28] And they dance to the first verse and it looks like they're going to wrap it up.
[00:59:31] And then they do the second verse.
[00:59:33] You never get to hear the second verse.
[00:59:36] I don't think I even knew there was one.
[00:59:38] Oh, yeah.
[00:59:38] How long does the song go in its natural native form?
[00:59:42] It's a three minute.
[00:59:43] It's a standard song.
[00:59:44] Really?
[00:59:44] Standard song.
[00:59:45] But they I think that what happened.
[00:59:47] Someone vet the friends theme song for you before you could listen to it.
[00:59:50] I would have the second verse.
[00:59:52] You hear the lyrics of the second verse.
[00:59:54] You're like, oh, God, that's why they only use the first one.
[00:59:57] Yeah.
[00:59:57] Yeah.
[00:59:57] It's so funny.
[00:59:58] It's like you're seeing, you know, your teacher at the mall.
[00:59:59] You're like, oh, it's the friends second verse.
[01:00:02] You never get to hear that.
[01:00:03] Yeah.
[01:00:04] Natalie's going to make some friends.
[01:00:06] Natalie's going to make some friends.
[01:00:07] She wins this challenge.
[01:00:08] She's going to immediately exile Alec, who we basically won't see for the rest of the
[01:00:14] episode until post immunity, even though he goes home.
[01:00:19] She's going to pick Jacqueline and John.
[01:00:21] Missy and Bay are not thrilled about it because the difference this time is they're going to
[01:00:27] be in full view of the bed and the chicken parm and the spaghetti and red wine.
[01:00:33] And Keith says, I'm used to it.
[01:00:36] So he's fine.
[01:00:37] Keith is the first person to go to the bed when they go back to camp.
[01:00:41] He goes to the bed.
[01:00:42] He's just like testing the bed.
[01:00:44] Yeah, it's good bed.
[01:00:46] You guys have fun.
[01:00:47] Like part of me was like, are they like allowing Keith to like, like, are they going to let
[01:00:51] him lie down on the bed?
[01:00:53] Like, should he even be should he have been allowed to touch the bed?
[01:00:56] Yeah.
[01:00:57] So in our reward that we're pitching, can you touch?
[01:01:00] You can't touch the couch.
[01:01:01] I don't get that.
[01:01:03] You're benefiting from the couch by touching the couch.
[01:01:05] You know what I mean?
[01:01:05] You're getting a lot.
[01:01:06] You know, it's a taste of home.
[01:01:08] Even if you're just like, even if you're just like finger tipping the couch, you know,
[01:01:13] like I think like even doing that, it's like the tactile feeling of like mom's basement,
[01:01:18] you know, like velvet.
[01:01:21] Yeah.
[01:01:21] Like, I feel like what kind of couch are we doing?
[01:01:24] By the way, you don't like that.
[01:01:26] I like I think velvet's fun.
[01:01:27] Velvet on sand is going to suck.
[01:01:29] But you don't want to do like like like old Italian family, like plastic on the on the
[01:01:36] furniture.
[01:01:37] Oh, I do.
[01:01:38] Plastic is fun.
[01:01:39] What if they won that?
[01:01:39] They'd be like, can we can we take the like, no, no, no, can't do it.
[01:01:45] And you fly out my my grandmother who still has the plastic on her head and she'll be like,
[01:01:50] we can't we can't part with this just yet.
[01:01:54] Keith and Missy and Baylor, they're going to go off.
[01:01:56] They're going to get water.
[01:01:58] John and Jacqueline and Natalie feel kind of bad about it.
[01:02:00] They think like there's always a chance for something weird to happen.
[01:02:03] We never cut to a conversation between Missy, Baylor and Keith because presumably it never
[01:02:07] happened.
[01:02:09] They probably just like went the whole way without speaking a word.
[01:02:12] They just don't have a lot in common.
[01:02:16] John is a wine connoisseur.
[01:02:21] He knows his way around.
[01:02:23] Yes, he knows how to swirl it.
[01:02:25] Doing the swirl.
[01:02:25] He does the swirl.
[01:02:27] He could do like the sniff.
[01:02:28] He can tell you the notes like notes of oak and chicken parm.
[01:02:34] He wants to be a sommelier.
[01:02:36] It's a thing that bonds him closer to his father, who we will learn in this episode
[01:02:41] has brain cancer.
[01:02:44] And John will get very emotional about that at tribal in this episode.
[01:02:49] Natalie, meanwhile, is just like, I don't want to hear him talking about wine anymore.
[01:02:53] What an idiot.
[01:02:54] Thinks he knows everything.
[01:02:55] It's like, was Natalie, you privy to the backstory?
[01:02:57] He must have talked about the backstory.
[01:02:59] And Natalie's like, I don't care.
[01:03:01] She's like Sue versus Kyle.
[01:03:03] She doesn't want to hear your sob story.
[01:03:05] I do.
[01:03:06] There is a world where Natalie knows.
[01:03:07] You're a sick dad who likes wine?
[01:03:10] This could have been.
[01:03:11] How dare you?
[01:03:11] Bring your phone here.
[01:03:14] I do.
[01:03:15] It was interesting how Natalie goes back to Mayler and Bissy.
[01:03:22] You got it.
[01:03:23] No, you got it the first time.
[01:03:24] Mayler and Bissy.
[01:03:25] Mayler and Bissy.
[01:03:26] And says like, oh, he's already talking about how he's going to spend the money.
[01:03:31] It's a lot of the money.
[01:03:32] I didn't get that.
[01:03:33] Maybe obviously the conversation had to have been longer or Natalie is just disgruntled
[01:03:37] and then relaying a different thing.
[01:03:39] But I thought he was just talking about his hopes and dreams.
[01:03:42] I thought he was just talking about his hopes and dreams as well.
[01:03:46] But I didn't watch it close enough to tell you that for certain.
[01:03:49] And also, even if he didn't say that, a great thing for Natalie to be telling Missy and Bailer right now.
[01:03:55] Oh, Hundo P.
[01:03:55] And I do think even that in a bubble, John does give the air of somebody who does think he already won the program.
[01:04:04] So like it does.
[01:04:05] It makes sense.
[01:04:06] It's not an it's an allegation that is maybe false, but it does track with every other behavior that we've witnessed.
[01:04:12] Yes.
[01:04:14] Natalie is going to find out that John has the idol.
[01:04:16] This is good information for her.
[01:04:18] She is continuing to to try and get her revenge against John.
[01:04:25] The next day, she will tell Bailer that it was the worst experience of my life sharing a bed with Natalie.
[01:04:33] Cushy life.
[01:04:35] Pretty good.
[01:04:36] It's a pretty good life.
[01:04:37] That's the worst thing that's ever happened.
[01:04:39] Not bad.
[01:04:40] Pretty good.
[01:04:41] On the final seven, you won the reward.
[01:04:42] You're eating, you know, on a TV program.
[01:04:45] It's a good.
[01:04:45] Everyone is everyone is sick of John and Jacqueline.
[01:04:47] John and Jacqueline are sleeping through the day.
[01:04:49] The bed is gone, but now they're sleeping through the shelter and everyone's doing chores except for John and Jacqueline.
[01:04:54] And so everyone's mad at John and Jacqueline.
[01:04:56] Keith's mad.
[01:04:57] Nat's mad.
[01:04:57] They're all kind of mad.
[01:04:59] And John says to Jacqueline, kind of got a weird vibe today.
[01:05:01] You think?
[01:05:03] Like, did you notice they just like dropped a huge pile of wood next to my ear?
[01:05:08] Did you see that?
[01:05:09] Wake up.
[01:05:10] I mean, John famously got the call, I think, for second chance.
[01:05:14] And then just didn't.
[01:05:15] He didn't know the number or like went to his voicemail or something.
[01:05:18] Yes.
[01:05:18] This guy isn't.
[01:05:20] He's charming, but he's not.
[01:05:21] He's not a thinker.
[01:05:22] You know?
[01:05:23] He's Prince charming.
[01:05:24] He could be on Survivor 50's Cinderella.
[01:05:27] Yes.
[01:05:27] The Cinderella reboot.
[01:05:28] Famous.
[01:05:29] Yeah.
[01:05:29] Yeah.
[01:05:29] He could if he answers his phone.
[01:05:31] But yeah, I don't think that, you know, he's not putting.
[01:05:32] He's not putting a lot of two and two together.
[01:05:35] Yeah.
[01:05:35] Yeah.
[01:05:36] Does Survivor call you from a blocked number?
[01:05:38] Do you get an actual number that calls you?
[01:05:40] You get an actual number.
[01:05:43] I, for the years, you know, I'm 11 thinking about getting on Survivor.
[01:05:46] I always thought it was one, a blocked number.
[01:05:49] And I always thought they would call before they emailed.
[01:05:52] Yeah.
[01:05:52] So I thought you'd randomly get the call.
[01:05:54] Like, it's like the, like, it's like your, you know, the call.
[01:05:57] But they email you.
[01:05:58] They email you.
[01:05:58] You know that you're going to get the call.
[01:05:59] Do you think that this is because of John?
[01:06:00] Do you think John changed protocol?
[01:06:03] He might have changed the protocol.
[01:06:04] Yeah.
[01:06:05] It's like you have to now confirm that we're going to call you.
[01:06:09] Yeah.
[01:06:09] I, for years, I thought that you just like one day you just get the call.
[01:06:13] But you don't, you get an email.
[01:06:14] It says, hey, we're going to call you in 10 minutes.
[01:06:15] And then they call you.
[01:06:17] And it's, you know, it's still exciting, but it's, it's less so.
[01:06:20] It's not as random as you want it to be.
[01:06:23] Okay.
[01:06:24] Immunity challenge.
[01:06:25] This is actually kind of the immunity challenge that we got this week on Survivor 47.
[01:06:29] It's a different version, but it's also like line the blocks up, hold the rope, go back,
[01:06:34] grab a block, come back.
[01:06:35] A little less punishing.
[01:06:38] It's more forgiving than the challenge that we saw on Survivor 47.
[01:06:43] Because like if you knock the blocks over, they stay on the platform.
[01:06:48] You just got to like straighten them back up.
[01:06:50] So they were allowed to do that a bunch, which probably saved some time.
[01:06:54] And I'm actually kind of surprised that that's not still how they do it.
[01:06:57] If I'm Jeff Probst, I want to get out of there, you know, quick.
[01:07:01] Quick.
[01:07:01] Okay.
[01:07:01] Let's just let Missy win it.
[01:07:02] Yeah.
[01:07:03] You guys want Missy to win?
[01:07:04] I do.
[01:07:05] I want to retract what I said earlier about being good at this.
[01:07:07] I would not be good at this.
[01:07:09] There's no world in which I'm good at this.
[01:07:10] I think I'd be quite bad at this.
[01:07:12] This version, maybe I could do, but the, when you have to stack it on top of stuff,
[01:07:16] no chance.
[01:07:17] I don't have a steady, I don't have a steady hand.
[01:07:19] Yeah.
[01:07:19] I guess that, that disqualifies me from all balancing also, but at least you're kind of,
[01:07:23] you're kind of compact as opposed to like, you know.
[01:07:27] Do I have a steady hand?
[01:07:32] I wouldn't say, I wouldn't give it an A plus.
[01:07:34] No, I think it's a B.
[01:07:36] I think I've got a B in the steadiness of my hand.
[01:07:40] So I don't know.
[01:07:41] I don't think I would be first out, but it's not a placement thing.
[01:07:45] So whatever.
[01:07:47] We'll never know.
[01:07:48] We'll literally never know.
[01:07:49] We'll never know.
[01:07:49] Literally no chance we'll ever find out.
[01:07:52] Missy is going to cry before the challenge.
[01:07:54] She's sleep deprived.
[01:07:54] Baylor previously has said, I see Missy cry.
[01:07:57] I cry.
[01:07:58] So she's crying too.
[01:07:59] She wishes that she could give her own energy and strength to her mom.
[01:08:05] She could just like take it out of her, give it to mom.
[01:08:09] You can't do it.
[01:08:11] You can't do that.
[01:08:12] It's not possible to do that.
[01:08:14] But the thoughts, you can say a lot of stuff that's not possible.
[01:08:17] You know?
[01:08:18] Great sci-fi concept.
[01:08:19] Great premise.
[01:08:20] Great premise.
[01:08:21] Maybe Philip K. Dick did something with that.
[01:08:23] I don't know.
[01:08:24] No.
[01:08:25] It's a pretty straightforward challenge.
[01:08:27] John's going to win.
[01:08:28] Alec is going to go early.
[01:08:30] Or he's not going to do well.
[01:08:31] And Probst is going to comment one time.
[01:08:34] Alec dumps again.
[01:08:35] And I just thought that was funny because I'm a child.
[01:08:39] Yeah.
[01:08:40] Yeah.
[01:08:40] So back at camp, John with immunity, who was maybe sort of cuspy in the crosshairs because
[01:08:48] Natalie is still looking to take her shot.
[01:08:50] She no longer can.
[01:08:51] So now she has to look one move ahead.
[01:08:55] The plan is we're going to split votes on Keith and Alec just in case one of them has an idol.
[01:09:02] And the plan is to get Keith out because he's better at challenges than Alec.
[01:09:07] Alec, sensing impending doom, is going to try the cream cheese tactics with Baylor.
[01:09:14] He's going to say, you know, I'm not an emotional guy, but I just want to tell you about a couple of them.
[01:09:19] Also, what do you think of downtown Orlando?
[01:09:21] Would you like to know more about that?
[01:09:25] Any recording studios in downtown Orlando?
[01:09:28] Natalie is hatching this secret plan where she is going to.
[01:09:34] She's supposed to vote for Keith here.
[01:09:37] She's supposed to be the fourth vote on Keith.
[01:09:40] But she says, what if I flip it on to Alec?
[01:09:42] And then Keith's going to owe me one.
[01:09:44] And I don't remember what Rob and I said about this back in the evolution of strategy.
[01:09:49] And again, hindsight being 2020.
[01:09:52] And ultimately, this works out great for Natalie.
[01:09:54] But a lot to put on the guy who did stick to the plan two tribals ago.
[01:10:01] That Keith's going to owe me one.
[01:10:03] And then when I'm going to need Keith to pull off stealth tactics, he's going to be my guy.
[01:10:07] It's a big bet.
[01:10:09] Big bet right now from Natalie Anderson.
[01:10:11] Yeah, it's a bet.
[01:10:13] Ultimately, hell yeah.
[01:10:15] You struck the jackpot on this bet.
[01:10:17] But yeah, it's a toughie.
[01:10:19] I think, I mean, who's to, I can't posture on Natalie's thinking.
[01:10:23] But like, maybe Alec feels more like he couldn't make, Alec's going to be trying to make a plan.
[01:10:29] Whether like Keith is going to stick to the plan.
[01:10:33] Yeah.
[01:10:33] A plan, the plan.
[01:10:34] Stick to a plan would be fine.
[01:10:37] So that's her, she's thinking about this going into Tribal.
[01:10:41] There's a little bit of drama at Tribal.
[01:10:44] You know, John's going to talk about his father and his regrets about not being closer.
[01:10:49] And then also there's...
[01:10:53] Oh my God.
[01:10:55] It's a rat.
[01:11:00] It's not brat.
[01:11:01] It's rat.
[01:11:02] It's rat.
[01:11:03] We've got rat.
[01:11:04] We've got rat.
[01:11:04] Rats in the house.
[01:11:06] Rat's a comer.
[01:11:07] Is this like, is this like, just like, I don't know.
[01:11:14] I don't even know.
[01:11:15] I don't know what I was going to say.
[01:11:16] I lost it.
[01:11:17] It is like that.
[01:11:18] It's like that.
[01:11:19] I lost it.
[01:11:20] I lost it.
[01:11:22] Alex says, I'd eat it.
[01:11:23] Alex says, I'd eat that.
[01:11:25] I'm hungry.
[01:11:26] And everyone's like, okay, we got to vote you out.
[01:11:28] Like, you need a burger.
[01:11:29] Bad.
[01:11:30] Yeah.
[01:11:31] But he's a meat collector.
[01:11:33] We should know.
[01:11:34] So, of course.
[01:11:36] Did he say meat?
[01:11:37] That's him or his brother?
[01:11:38] That's him.
[01:11:38] He's the meat collector.
[01:11:40] Alex is a meat collector.
[01:11:41] Whether or not Drew is a meat collector is unconfirmed.
[01:11:44] But Alec has confirmed that he himself is a meat collector.
[01:11:48] And that rat could have blown up his skirt, as he might have said.
[01:11:52] Alec votes for Keith.
[01:11:53] It's you or me.
[01:11:54] Keith votes for Alec.
[01:11:55] Votes come in.
[01:11:57] It's Alec.
[01:11:59] Natalie.
[01:12:00] It's out.
[01:12:00] Act chill.
[01:12:01] She just did the plan perfectly, according to the wider group.
[01:12:05] The rest of the group's like, no.
[01:12:07] What happened?
[01:12:10] And they're surprised.
[01:12:13] Alec has some fun final words.
[01:12:15] This is what he says.
[01:12:17] I gave it my all.
[01:12:18] I didn't win, but at least I beat Drew.
[01:12:21] So, that counts as a win for me.
[01:12:23] That's it.
[01:12:26] Unfortunately, Brandon, you did not beat Drew.
[01:12:28] I didn't beat Drew.
[01:12:29] I was just going to say, there are only about five people in my program that did beat Drew.
[01:12:35] Yeah.
[01:12:36] I am not chief among them.
[01:12:37] He did not beat Drew.
[01:12:39] Yeah.
[01:12:39] The only person that I beat did not want to participate in the program any longer.
[01:12:43] Yeah, that's right.
[01:12:44] Yes.
[01:12:44] He wanted to leave.
[01:12:45] Speaking of the quits.
[01:12:46] Yes.
[01:12:47] Yeah.
[01:12:47] Yeah.
[01:12:48] Listen, it's great.
[01:12:48] Julie McGee paved the way.
[01:12:50] She did.
[01:12:51] But we love Alec.
[01:12:52] Right?
[01:12:53] We love Alec.
[01:12:54] Great TV in this very specific context.
[01:12:57] In the very specific context of San Juan del Sur, Alec Christie, riveting TV.
[01:13:04] Very, very fun.
[01:13:06] He's added a lot to the rewatch as far as I'm concerned.
[01:13:09] Sure.
[01:13:10] But yeah, it's kind of like dump episodes here.
[01:13:14] Yeah.
[01:13:14] Let's just get them out of the way.
[01:13:16] Pretty straightforward votes.
[01:13:18] The votes are straightforward.
[01:13:19] Fun enough.
[01:13:20] Fun enough.
[01:13:21] Fun enough.
[01:13:22] We're getting to the finale.
[01:13:23] We like to go back in the time machine even further than just the episodes, Brandon.
[01:13:28] We like to see what was happening on the pods 10 years ago.
[01:13:32] And so our great San Juan del Surrogates, Danielle and Josh, provide the notes here.
[01:13:37] Both of them provided notes on the know-it-alls.
[01:13:40] Apparently, for this two-hour episode, who do you think Stephen Fishback gave the fishy to?
[01:13:50] This is the collective two hours.
[01:13:52] Yeah, for the two-hour episode.
[01:13:55] I mean, is it?
[01:13:56] And Natalie makes sense to me?
[01:13:58] John makes sense to me, kind of.
[01:14:01] Not really.
[01:14:02] Natalie, right?
[01:14:04] Nobody.
[01:14:05] Fishback gave fishy to no one over the course of these two hours.
[01:14:09] He does not believe anyone deserved it.
[01:14:13] I mean, I guess without knowing...
[01:14:16] Both Rob and Fish were very out on Natalie's move to vote out Alec.
[01:14:20] Right.
[01:14:21] Without knowing how it works, I understand why you would be.
[01:14:25] Yeah, Stephen said that she had an hour and 45 minutes of perfect play, and he was ready
[01:14:29] to give her 15 fishies.
[01:14:31] Oh.
[01:14:33] No fishies.
[01:14:34] No fishies.
[01:14:35] Fresh out of fishies.
[01:14:36] So there's that.
[01:14:39] In the exits, Reid told Rob that he did not regret calling a brat.
[01:14:49] He stuck by it.
[01:14:50] He said, I stick by it.
[01:14:52] But maybe it wasn't a good move.
[01:14:54] So maybe it wasn't a good move to call her brat.
[01:14:57] Yeah, but that's fine.
[01:14:59] I liked it, Reid.
[01:15:01] Yeah.
[01:15:03] Alec, in his exit interview, told Rob, he also held true to one of the things that he
[01:15:08] said in this episode.
[01:15:10] He said that cream cheese is great on everything.
[01:15:14] He adds it to all breakfast foods, including muffins.
[01:15:18] Oh, Jesus.
[01:15:20] Yeah.
[01:15:20] That's all breakfast foods.
[01:15:22] Yeah.
[01:15:22] Muffin is somehow like one of the least offensive.
[01:15:26] Who is Muffin?
[01:15:27] We just saw Muffin.
[01:15:28] I feel like if you're going to put cream cheese on anything of a breakfast food, I guess I'd
[01:15:32] reach for Muffin.
[01:15:33] Yeah.
[01:15:34] But it's better than some of it.
[01:15:36] It's better than cereal.
[01:15:39] So we learned in this exit interview with Alec that Drew had been, Drew Christie was hanging
[01:15:45] out with Kat of Survivor One World and Blood vs. Water fame.
[01:15:51] Yeah.
[01:15:51] Okay.
[01:15:53] They were both living in the Florida area.
[01:15:56] I don't know.
[01:15:56] They must have visited downtown Orlando.
[01:16:01] And Alex said, maybe I wasn't supposed to say anything about that.
[01:16:05] But now you know.
[01:16:06] They're not a couple.
[01:16:07] I just said they're hanging out, is what Alec Christie said.
[01:16:11] Sure.
[01:16:13] I wish them luck.
[01:16:15] If you guys are together still, hit me up.
[01:16:17] I'll send a wedding gift.
[01:16:19] This week in Survivor history, we're not taking Kalish's job away.
[01:16:25] This week in Rob has a podcast history.
[01:16:28] Brandon was the Tyson was a Tyson cast.
[01:16:31] I don't believe the longest that he's done, but it was four hours, a four hour Tyson cast,
[01:16:38] where, of course, Tyson was talking about his blood versus water experiences.
[01:16:43] He said he didn't.
[01:16:46] If somebody had been flirting with Rachel, he would have flirted with the other person's partner.
[01:16:52] So that's how he would have done that.
[01:16:55] We hashtagged Drat instead of Brat in honor of Drew and Kat.
[01:17:04] And Tyson said he wishes that he could listen in on what they were talking about.
[01:17:10] I do as well.
[01:17:12] This was around the time that he was on Marriage Boot Camp.
[01:17:16] Do you remember when Tyson was on Marriage Boot Camp?
[01:17:19] Yes, with Spencer.
[01:17:20] With Spencer Pratt.
[01:17:21] And there were a couple other people in there.
[01:17:23] Pratt, Trat, Pratt.
[01:17:25] It's all time to go.
[01:17:28] It hasn't been Pratt summer for a couple of years, but he'll make a return.
[01:17:31] This must have happened either the same week or shortly afterward.
[01:17:37] The Pod on Pod reviews.
[01:17:39] Do you remember Pod on Pod?
[01:17:41] Do you know what Pod on Pod is?
[01:17:42] If I bring it to you that way?
[01:17:44] I don't remember that at all.
[01:17:46] I mean, tell me, but maybe I'll drop my memory.
[01:17:48] You're going to get it.
[01:17:49] Pod on Pod was a podcast that reviewed other podcasts.
[01:17:53] And they would rate every podcast from a scale of zero to two earbuds.
[01:18:00] Okay.
[01:18:01] This was when Pod on Pod gave RHAP zero earbuds.
[01:18:07] Was this week on RHAP.
[01:18:10] So in the middle of the Tyson cast, we got a hashtag zero earbuds.
[01:18:15] Okay.
[01:18:16] And that podcast is defunct, I bet.
[01:18:19] Let's do a check.
[01:18:21] How's Pod on Pod?
[01:18:22] Pod on Pod 2024.
[01:18:23] Let's see.
[01:18:25] That gets me nothing.
[01:18:29] Pod on Pod podcast.
[01:18:31] Pod on Pod podcast.
[01:18:33] Let's see.
[01:18:34] Are we going to get Pod on Pod?
[01:18:36] There's a Reddit from nine years ago that says, okay, they have a YouTube that looks like it hasn't been updated in nine years.
[01:18:49] Okay.
[01:18:51] Who won the war?
[01:18:53] Well, I think we did.
[01:18:57] I know we did.
[01:18:59] I think we did.
[01:19:00] Yes.
[01:19:01] So with respect to Josh and Joel, the hosts of Pod on Pod, I tried to listen to a new episode of your podcast today, but I couldn't.
[01:19:11] So by default, zero earbuds.
[01:19:14] That's it.
[01:19:15] You get nothing.
[01:19:17] Nothing for you.
[01:19:19] And then I like to check in on how was my headline writing?
[01:19:21] This was the first season I was doing exit interviews on Parade back in the day.
[01:19:27] I had Reed Kelly turns off the dark on his survivor experience.
[01:19:32] It was a Spider-Man turn off the dark reference because he was one of them.
[01:19:38] Okay.
[01:19:39] Not my best.
[01:19:40] This one I'd still laugh at.
[01:19:43] Survivor player Alec Christie meets his maker, but it's M-E-A-T-S because he's a main collector.
[01:19:53] Oh, yeah.
[01:19:54] Okay.
[01:19:54] That's funny.
[01:19:55] It's not that good.
[01:19:56] No, it's funny.
[01:19:57] I like it.
[01:19:58] I just, I'm like, I can't spell.
[01:20:00] I like it.
[01:20:00] Meets M-E-A-T-S.
[01:20:02] That's it.
[01:20:03] That's the pod.
[01:20:04] That's it.
[01:20:04] You went back 10 years to San Juan del Sur.
[01:20:08] You joined me in Nicaragua and we're making it out of here.
[01:20:13] Firmly intact.
[01:20:15] One step closer to Natalie Anderson's historic win.
[01:20:20] Just two more weeks of San Juan del Sur, if you could believe it, Brandon.
[01:20:25] Mm-hmm.
[01:20:25] I was going to ask you, I wonder if who's going to win this, but I guess, I guess we know.
[01:20:30] It's not.
[01:20:30] I have a thought.
[01:20:31] I have a sneaking suspicion.
[01:20:34] We do spoilers.
[01:20:35] It's fine.
[01:20:35] You know?
[01:20:36] Yeah.
[01:20:36] It's 10 years.
[01:20:37] It's 10 years.
[01:20:38] This is a celebration.
[01:20:39] This is not a first watch.
[01:20:40] Yeah.
[01:20:40] Oh, my God.
[01:20:41] And not for anything.
[01:20:42] Again, like I said, I was a senior in high school when I'm watching this.
[01:20:45] And now, 10 years later, I'm here.
[01:20:48] Now you're all here.
[01:20:49] We're all here.
[01:20:50] Not all of us, but many of us are still here.
[01:20:53] Pod on Pod isn't still here, but...
[01:20:56] They were here for...
[01:20:57] You know, nine years.
[01:21:00] Yeah.
[01:21:00] If we did this podcast next year, that should be the idea for the spring is we let Pod
[01:21:06] on Pod know what they missed.
[01:21:07] We recap Pod on Pod.
[01:21:09] You know, we can take their own.
[01:21:11] Like a negative two-earbud idea, I think.
[01:21:15] Workshop.
[01:21:16] Workshop.
[01:21:16] We'll talk it through offline.
[01:21:18] Brandon Donlan, what a treat.
[01:21:21] My favorite account on the Blue Sky Skeets.
[01:21:26] Just out there posting face.
[01:21:28] Just making face.
[01:21:29] Giving face.
[01:21:30] Giving face.
[01:21:31] Serving face.
[01:21:32] Serving face.
[01:21:33] Serving face on Blue Sky.
[01:21:35] Sometimes coded messages.
[01:21:38] You got to find them.
[01:21:39] There's seven coded messages in each one.
[01:21:41] People just haven't found them.
[01:21:43] You're like the Waldo of social media.
[01:21:46] Yeah.
[01:21:47] I'm there.
[01:21:48] And you got to find me.
[01:21:49] You got to find them.
[01:21:50] You got to find me.
[01:21:51] Yeah.
[01:21:51] I mean, I pigeonhole myself into a bit on Blue Sky that I can't and won't get out of.
[01:21:56] So if you want to see my face, just pictures of me anywhere.
[01:21:59] It's Donlan at BSky.
[01:22:01] Social.
[01:22:02] Is that what we're doing?
[01:22:02] I think you can just say what you are.
[01:22:05] They'll find you.
[01:22:05] Brandon Donlan.
[01:22:07] At Bluesky.
[01:22:08] Social.
[01:22:08] It's a mouthful.
[01:22:10] I'm just around Howard.
[01:22:12] You'll find me one way or the other.
[01:22:15] What a delight to do a Survivor podcast together.
[01:22:18] It's the best.
[01:22:19] It's great.
[01:22:19] I want to say that we sound the same.
[01:22:20] So I hope that people can tell who's talking.
[01:22:23] Were people able to differentiate between the two, the two white dudes with brown hair
[01:22:29] and I formerly had glasses?
[01:22:31] You formerly.
[01:22:32] The artist formerly known as Josh Wiggler with glasses.
[01:22:34] We had glasses.
[01:22:35] Yes.
[01:22:35] I hope so.
[01:22:36] I had a great time.
[01:22:38] Otherwise, people might be like, that was a fairly impressive monologue.
[01:22:42] It really, really went, went hard.
[01:22:45] People trained for years to do that on stage and you just did it.
[01:22:48] I'm born with it.
[01:22:48] I'm born with it.
[01:22:49] Born with it.
[01:22:50] I don't have many gifts.
[01:22:51] That's one of them.
[01:22:53] Nor I.
[01:22:54] What do you got going on?
[01:22:55] Anything, you know, plugs?
[01:22:56] Nothing to plug?
[01:22:57] Just like, hey, I'm here.
[01:22:58] It's me.
[01:22:59] No plugs.
[01:23:00] I don't think I'll be around for podcasts for the next couple of weeks just because I
[01:23:05] kind of was already everywhere.
[01:23:07] So I'm rooting for everybody.
[01:23:09] But I think my winner pick is still holding strong.
[01:23:12] Who's your winner pick for 47?
[01:23:14] Caroline.
[01:23:14] Caroline.
[01:23:15] We are all in on the Caroline.
[01:23:16] Whoa.
[01:23:17] Yeah.
[01:23:18] I don't know that I made a winner pick.
[01:23:19] I don't think I made a winner pick.
[01:23:23] I think that I may have retroactively said baby Andy is my winner pick just to support
[01:23:30] the remaining hometown hero.
[01:23:32] Sure.
[01:23:33] And we love him.
[01:23:34] Yeah.
[01:23:34] We love them all.
[01:23:35] We love them all.
[01:23:36] But I'm around.
[01:23:37] If you need me for anything, just ask.
[01:23:40] Just ask Brandon Donlan anything.
[01:23:43] If you need branding, ask Brandon Donlan anything for a fee.
[01:23:48] Yeah.
[01:23:48] I do want money.
[01:23:49] He's going to charge.
[01:23:50] I didn't win.
[01:23:50] I didn't win the show.
[01:23:52] When we do this.
[01:23:53] We were called.
[01:23:54] In 10 years.
[01:23:55] Yeah.
[01:23:56] I didn't win.
[01:23:57] Yeah.
[01:23:58] Heads versus hearts.
[01:23:59] Will you go on?
[01:24:02] My beloved girlfriend would not.
[01:24:04] And I will say that that's the reason that we won't.
[01:24:06] Okay.
[01:24:07] Okay.
[01:24:08] Would she do good?
[01:24:08] Would she be good on the show?
[01:24:09] Would she do well?
[01:24:10] She's very.
[01:24:11] She'd do great.
[01:24:12] She's very afraid of bugs.
[01:24:14] Yeah.
[01:24:14] So I think that's the detractor is there are.
[01:24:16] There's never been a bug list location.
[01:24:18] No.
[01:24:19] There's never really been a bug list location.
[01:24:22] Full stop.
[01:24:23] Where are you going to not find the library?
[01:24:25] There's bugs there.
[01:24:26] There's bugs library.
[01:24:27] But survivor in a library is an interesting one.
[01:24:31] Like a great library.
[01:24:33] Oh, yeah.
[01:24:34] The one in.
[01:24:35] What's the one in New York with all the cool lamps?
[01:24:37] We'll go there.
[01:24:38] The great library of New York.
[01:24:40] Oh, is that what that is?
[01:24:42] Yeah.
[01:24:42] I believe that's what it's called.
[01:24:43] It's the very big great library in the middle of New York.
[01:24:46] You could do a survivor.
[01:24:48] You could do a survivor there.
[01:24:49] Okay.
[01:24:49] Would she be.
[01:24:49] Would she have been okay with the rat?
[01:24:52] Rats fine.
[01:24:53] Yeah.
[01:24:53] Rats.
[01:24:54] Rats are chilling.
[01:24:55] Rats fine.
[01:24:55] You know, I don't like New Yorkers.
[01:24:57] Okay.
[01:24:59] There's you know, you get snakes.
[01:25:00] You get rats.
[01:25:01] That's what makes survivor.
[01:25:01] What it is.
[01:25:02] You know, that's that's it.
[01:25:03] All right, Brandon.
[01:25:04] Well, thank you for filling in for Robbie.
[01:25:07] Oh, who will be back next week on the other side of Houston, where he is for the live
[01:25:14] RHAP event in Houston.
[01:25:16] This podcast coming out Tuesday around 3 p.m.
[01:25:21] One day before that event.
[01:25:23] If you're in the Houston area, I actually literally have no idea if tickets are still available,
[01:25:29] but I suspect you could find out.
[01:25:31] So do a little search.
[01:25:33] If you are in in the greater Houston area and you want to go see Rob and some other RHAP friendly faces and survivors,
[01:25:41] you can certainly do that.
[01:25:41] You'll be able to listen to all of that and more in the days ahead as we process this next episode of Survivor 47.
[01:25:48] Before Stan Wandel Soar comes back for another round, the Wandoff will return.
[01:25:55] The Wandoff for Survivor 47 is airing next Monday night on Club Condo.
[01:26:02] It's a Club Condo Wandoff that we're going to be doing next Monday night.
[01:26:07] Get your Wandoffs in.
[01:26:09] Send them in.
[01:26:10] Rob has a website dot com slash Wandoff.
[01:26:13] If you can't sing or you don't want to, find a friend who can or just do it anyway.
[01:26:19] Some of the best Wandoffs were not that good.
[01:26:22] So you can be one of those.
[01:26:24] I love the bad Wandoffs.
[01:26:27] So just send them in.
[01:26:28] Did you ever Wandoff?
[01:26:29] Did you ever send in a Wandoff, Brandon?
[01:26:30] I never sent in, but I listened every week is my favorite part of the week.
[01:26:34] Do you have a musical?
[01:26:36] Are you inclined musically?
[01:26:37] Do you have musical aptitude?
[01:26:39] I can play the guitar.
[01:26:40] Okay.
[01:26:42] I can't do.
[01:26:43] I played a lot of instruments.
[01:26:44] I didn't see any through, but I can hang.
[01:26:48] I can guitar.
[01:26:49] I wish I could sing so bad.
[01:26:51] It's my least favorite thing about myself is that I can't sing Super Bowl.
[01:26:53] I'm like on a one to ten, I think I'm a four, but it's not.
[01:26:56] A four is where you don't want to be because if you're a one, it's like funny to hear you sing.
[01:27:00] Yeah.
[01:27:00] And ten, you're good.
[01:27:02] Four is like you're really trying to sound good and you're not quite there.
[01:27:06] Who's better, you or Jeff?
[01:27:07] And where is Jeff on the one to ten?
[01:27:10] Jeff's like, he's kissing six, I think.
[01:27:14] He's above, I think, middle.
[01:27:15] Wow.
[01:27:16] I don't know if he's great, but I think with classical training, I don't know if it has to be classical.
[01:27:20] It could be contemporary, modern, whatever.
[01:27:22] But if he had training, I think he could get to a place where he could sing on a stage.
[01:27:26] I would not get there for a while.
[01:27:27] I don't think.
[01:27:28] Okay.
[01:27:29] Well, great to have goals.
[01:27:31] Great to have goals this late in life, Brandon.
[01:27:34] I got a couple of them.
[01:27:35] I really like, there was a She's So High.
[01:27:38] It was, I think, She's So High and Mighty was Natalie Cole for the Devers Goliath.
[01:27:43] I really liked that one.
[01:27:44] I listen to that one on YouTube a lot.
[01:27:46] Yep.
[01:27:46] Yep.
[01:27:47] So lots of future classics coming to the Wand Off next week.
[01:27:51] Stan Wandel Soar resumes with the penultimate episode next week here.
[01:27:56] Until then, everybody.
[01:27:58] Take care.
[01:27:59] Bye-bye.
[01:28:00] Bye-bye.
[01:28:00] Bye-bye.
