Survivor San Juan Del Sur Ep 7 | 10 Year Anniversary

Rob Cesternino and Josh Wigler are back to dissect episode seven of Survivor: San Juan del Sur, marking its 10-year anniversary.

[00:00:08] It was 10 years ago on a night just like this. Probably not a night just like this. But it was 10 years ago when we watched episode 7 of Survivor San Juan Del Sur and it sounded just like this. Get in the backseat and let me drive. Yes! It was 10 years ago tonight that Julie McGee quit Survivor San Juan Del Sur. A million dollar decision.

[00:00:38] Or so the episode title says as Josh and Jeremy's Cold War simmers on the back burner as Julie McGee and her trail mix ends up leaving the game. Back with us to talk about it is, of course, my great friend, my blood versus water part podcast partner, Josh Winkler.

[00:01:02] Rob, very excited to be here to talk about an episode that once again, the parallels between this episode that aired November 5th 2014 and us talking about it on November 5th 2024. Both the episode and today are all about trails that end.

[00:01:29] Rob, yes. The episode of Survivor and today both highlight the importance of voting.

[00:01:38] Rob, well, the difference between today and 10 years ago today is that today people are voting 10 years ago today. No voting. No. And then look what happens if you don't vote, you know, spoils all sorts of plans. So make sure you're getting out the vote today.

[00:01:56] Folks better than Julie McGee. Also, a big difference that 10 years ago tonight. We saw somebody concede. Listen, maybe unlikely today.

[00:02:11] Woo. A lot of this banter could become dated in record time. So we could just settle back, settle back in.

[00:02:20] We don't know. What's going on live show audience? Yeah. Any comments? No, not yet. Not yet.

[00:02:28] Is this on private, Sam?

[00:02:31] Are we on private? Is this unlisted? Where are the comments?

[00:02:34] Private browsing right now, Rob. Good.

[00:02:38] No, I'm excited to go back.

[00:02:40] If nobody's watching, let me give out my social security number real quick. Okay.

[00:02:45] For one hour only, we're back in 2014. And you know what? I'll take that today. I'll take that today. I think I'm happy with that today.

[00:02:57] Okay. All right. So we're going to talk about everything here today. Plus, we go back in time each week and talk about what was happening on the podcast.

[00:03:05] And then is this on your radar? Do you know you were on the voicemails 10 years ago today or 10 years ago this week?

[00:03:15] Yes. I believe I was a part of popularizing Quits McGee.

[00:03:24] Okay. I'm pretty sure that I was a participant in that.

[00:03:28] She was called worse on the podcast, according to some of the research that was done.

[00:03:33] Okay. Not by us.

[00:03:36] Not my proudest moment.

[00:03:40] I mean, it was a Ron Burgundy reference, mostly.

[00:03:45] It was a funny moment.

[00:03:46] Yeah.

[00:03:46] But I don't know. I don't know how it plays 10 years greater.

[00:03:50] That being said, thrilled to talk about this one.

[00:03:53] One of the things that I thought was very interesting about this episode is it really highlighted that certain Survivor seasons, you could do a lot of travel by map.

[00:04:04] They're really landlocked on this one.

[00:04:06] So it's like, all right, we're merging.

[00:04:08] Go up the hill and have lunch.

[00:04:10] All right.

[00:04:11] You had lunch.

[00:04:11] Go down the hill and go to your new tribe.

[00:04:14] And then Julie's like, I'm going to go back up the hill and quit.

[00:04:17] And Jeff's like, I'll come with you.

[00:04:18] And Jeff talks to her.

[00:04:19] And then Jeff comes back down the hill and talks to the tribe.

[00:04:22] It's like, it was really like everything was just like, no boats, no cars required.

[00:04:27] Yeah.

[00:04:27] Just foot travel.

[00:04:28] Lots of foot travel.

[00:04:29] Now, while we did get Jeff to show up at the end, and he'll just show up.

[00:04:34] Also, Caleb is great with like your social.

[00:04:37] Okay.

[00:04:37] Let me, I'll DM him.

[00:04:39] And we'll just show up.

[00:04:41] Jeff just shows up at the end of the episode when Julie wants to walk away from the game.

[00:04:47] But I thought that what was so interesting here, you know, 10 years ago to the date is not like the dates that Julie McGee made off with after the merge feast.

[00:04:58] A Jeffless merge happens here.

[00:05:01] And I think that a Jeffless merge is not entirely uncommon 10 years ago, but it would be unfathomable at the current state to have the merge without Jeff.

[00:05:15] Yes, because we live in a suspended state of merge story that Jeff must preside over.

[00:05:24] Yeah.

[00:05:25] I'm trying to think of the last time.

[00:05:27] Like, just let the snacks speak for themselves, I think is sort of like, and we're also not terribly far removed from like that experimental era of Jeff being like, can I take a day off?

[00:05:38] Yeah.

[00:05:39] Do I get yourself challenge?

[00:05:41] I think we, I'm not sure.

[00:05:43] I feel like they did it show up like rogue in one of the later seasons in the twenties.

[00:05:48] I know it was in one world and I'm not sure if it happened again after that, that they had the, uh, a Jeffless challenge.

[00:05:56] It was fairly maligned.

[00:05:57] I don't like it, but I'm sure.

[00:05:58] I feel like that there was like one random time where it, it also happened again, a Jeffless challenge.

[00:06:05] It could be wrong about that, but yeah.

[00:06:07] Um, it, I think that, uh, survivor sort of like oscillated between sometimes Jeff at the merge, sometimes no Jeff at the merge.

[00:06:16] Uh, I believe Jeff.

[00:06:18] I'm trying to remember if Jeff was at the merge or not in survivor of the Amazon.

[00:06:23] I really don't remember.

[00:06:26] My vague memory of it is like, I feel like a mixer kind of happens and then you guys go and, uh, Heidi and Jenna get naked.

[00:06:34] And that's where Jeff.

[00:06:35] Yeah, but that's not all the same day.

[00:06:37] Uh, I'm trying to remember, like, I remember us being on boats and I remember like paddling in and I don't remember if, I think that we did, like, I want to say we got a word from Jeff, but he wasn't where we were eating the merge feast.

[00:06:48] Got it.

[00:06:49] Got it.

[00:06:49] I have to go back and look at that.

[00:06:52] Huge merge feast in this episode.

[00:06:54] Yeah.

[00:06:55] Big feast.

[00:06:56] Heroes feast.

[00:06:57] We're maxing out our HP.

[00:06:59] Like people are eating here.

[00:07:01] Alec Christie is eating here.

[00:07:04] Yeah.

[00:07:05] And we're even going to have leftovers for Wesley's birthday the next day.

[00:07:10] But one person.

[00:07:13] One individual.

[00:07:15] A single participant in Survivor San Juan del Sur.

[00:07:21] Going to be pocketing some trail mix.

[00:07:23] Yep.

[00:07:24] Lying, thieving, stealing Julie McGee.

[00:07:29] Yeah.

[00:07:29] I'm angrier about this 10 years later than I was back then.

[00:07:32] Why?

[00:07:32] Why are you so upset about it?

[00:07:34] I've gotten really into trail mix since then.

[00:07:37] Yes, you do?

[00:07:38] And so like now I understand the value of what she took.

[00:07:42] What's in your trail mix?

[00:07:43] Totally depends on what's available.

[00:07:45] Well, got to get like a decent spread of nuts.

[00:07:48] A few different kinds, Rob.

[00:07:50] We need a bunch of nuts in our trail mix.

[00:07:53] A lot of people are off nuts this month.

[00:07:58] Really?

[00:07:59] Oh, is this no nuts November?

[00:08:04] We're not putting our nuts in our trail mix this month?

[00:08:08] Julie McGee was not participating.

[00:08:12] Yeah, she was fully in nuts November.

[00:08:16] All the way in.

[00:08:19] Yeah, we got to get some nuts in there.

[00:08:23] Chocolate chips.

[00:08:25] Yeah.

[00:08:26] Chocolate chips would not be good on Survivor.

[00:08:27] That would be melted.

[00:08:29] Melted.

[00:08:29] How do you feel about the dried fruit?

[00:08:31] Like the raisins?

[00:08:32] Got it.

[00:08:32] We've got to get some dried fruit.

[00:08:34] I love a good raisin.

[00:08:35] It's not a...

[00:08:36] Don't say that too loud because we'll get Babe texted.

[00:08:39] She hates raisins.

[00:08:41] But I love a dried fruit.

[00:08:43] You know what's an underrated dried fruit?

[00:08:45] It's a cherry.

[00:08:46] Love a dried cherry.

[00:08:47] Oh, dried cherry?

[00:08:48] Okay.

[00:08:48] You know, get some dried mango in there.

[00:08:51] Yeah, so Julie was working on like some dried apricot,

[00:08:54] a pineapple ring.

[00:08:55] She had a pineapple ring for sure would be delicious.

[00:08:59] Yeah.

[00:09:00] I think she had some apricots in there for sure.

[00:09:02] Yeah.

[00:09:03] Hold on.

[00:09:03] Is it...

[00:09:04] Do we have any sort of breaking news about...

[00:09:09] About Julie McGee?

[00:09:11] Hold on.

[00:09:12] Breaking news.

[00:09:13] Breaking news.

[00:09:14] Sam's a pineapple guy.

[00:09:18] Wow.

[00:09:19] Wow.

[00:09:19] Sam's a pineapple guy.

[00:09:21] Julie McGee is a pineapple gal.

[00:09:23] Okay.

[00:09:24] So yeah, I'm mad about it because I love trail mix.

[00:09:27] Great source of nutrients.

[00:09:30] Okay.

[00:09:30] Okay.

[00:09:30] Well, let's talk through everything from this episode,

[00:09:36] which I kind of feel like is a little bit...

[00:09:38] Maybe the...

[00:09:40] We...

[00:09:40] I remember being very disappointed with this.

[00:09:43] It's like, okay, we got to the merge.

[00:09:45] Here we go, baby.

[00:09:46] Take off.

[00:09:47] And it's like, we're going to sit on the runway for a little bit here.

[00:09:52] We're not going to take off.

[00:09:54] Julie McGee is going to quit.

[00:09:56] I remember them being like, well, why don't we just go to...

[00:09:58] Why don't we just have a tribal council?

[00:10:00] Yeah.

[00:10:01] Flip side.

[00:10:03] This episode, in memory at least,

[00:10:07] because we'll see in the couple of weeks ahead,

[00:10:11] to my memory of the experience of this,

[00:10:13] this episode is like a very clutch setup for these next two.

[00:10:18] Yeah.

[00:10:19] And therefore, a very clutch setup for Natalie's run towards the end of the game.

[00:10:24] I do think maybe it's worth breaking down what shakes out differently,

[00:10:28] if Julie stays, yada, yada, yada.

[00:10:31] But certainly, Julie leaving changes things.

[00:10:35] It seems, at least, as Josh tells it,

[00:10:38] that Jeremy's going to go if we go to tribal tonight,

[00:10:41] and he doesn't because she leaves.

[00:10:43] And so then Josh goes in the next one.

[00:10:44] So I think that this episode is somewhat of a necessary evil

[00:10:48] for some of the greatness to come.

[00:10:51] But in the weekly, of course,

[00:10:53] especially for the business that you're historically in, Rob,

[00:10:59] a little hard to do this job of vote breakdown,

[00:11:04] analysis of the moves and everything on a quit episode.

[00:11:07] It's tough.

[00:11:08] Yeah.

[00:11:08] And I feel like we've talked a little bit about

[00:11:11] the legacy of this season and the greatness of this season.

[00:11:15] And I really think that that works.

[00:11:18] And just to revisit where we were at in the real time,

[00:11:21] as the completed work of San Juan del Sur

[00:11:26] really stands the test of time.

[00:11:28] But I think that one of the things that held it back

[00:11:29] is that in the real time, through seven episodes,

[00:11:33] you have a season where we've talked about,

[00:11:36] like, okay, it seems like it's a season of dummies.

[00:11:38] And even Jeremy itself, he's like,

[00:11:41] he's like, Josh, only half.

[00:11:44] He's the only person on his side that's playing the game.

[00:11:48] Like, he was down on it.

[00:11:51] And then we get a quit now on top of everything else

[00:11:54] that we've seen here.

[00:11:56] And Jeff talked about this is the worst group

[00:11:58] that they needed so much help.

[00:12:00] And our winner.

[00:12:01] And then Jeff goes around and gives them,

[00:12:03] like, one of the best merch pieces

[00:12:05] I can remember seeing.

[00:12:06] That spread is absurd.

[00:12:09] But also-

[00:12:10] San Juan del Sur.

[00:12:11] Absurd, for sure.

[00:12:11] Our winner, Natalie, has been very quiet.

[00:12:16] And she's almost invisible in this episode,

[00:12:19] probably for, like, the third or fourth time

[00:12:21] so far this season.

[00:12:23] And if you were, in the real time,

[00:12:25] going to, like, rank the characters

[00:12:28] that have had their story told,

[00:12:30] like, I don't even think that Natalie

[00:12:31] is in the top five or six at this point.

[00:12:34] Give me the top five or six.

[00:12:36] People that are in the game

[00:12:37] that have been featured more than Natalie,

[00:12:40] certainly Jeremy.

[00:12:42] I think Missy and Baylor.

[00:12:45] Yep.

[00:12:45] Josh has been a...

[00:12:48] Keith, I think, has had more than Natalie.

[00:12:53] And this is no slight to Natalie

[00:12:55] who's going to go on to then be the star

[00:12:57] of the back half of the season.

[00:12:59] You know, even I would say that, you know,

[00:13:03] John and Jacqueline have started to come

[00:13:04] into more of a focus than Natalie.

[00:13:07] Yeah.

[00:13:07] Well, so I think, like, an instructive thing

[00:13:09] that happens in this episode,

[00:13:10] I know we're all over the place,

[00:13:12] but I think an instructive thing

[00:13:13] that happens in this episode

[00:13:14] is when they finally get to the old Quayopa camp

[00:13:17] and everyone is, like, with their loved ones

[00:13:19] and stuff, Natalie says to the rest of the tribe,

[00:13:23] this is my loved one.

[00:13:24] And she's got her hand on Jeremy's shoulder.

[00:13:26] And as we've already discussed,

[00:13:29] I think that, like, Nadia goes, Val goes,

[00:13:33] and Jeremy and Natalie kind of become twins.

[00:13:36] And then when Jeremy is going to go

[00:13:38] and Natalie once again has to weather

[00:13:41] the departure of a loved one,

[00:13:42] she activates.

[00:13:43] So I think, like, there is utility to her story

[00:13:48] not firing off until her new loved one

[00:13:52] is really out of the game.

[00:13:53] And then it becomes a vengeance journey.

[00:13:55] Then it becomes Kill Bill,

[00:13:56] except that, like, the Black Mambo Fives

[00:14:01] or whatever they're called,

[00:14:01] I forget the name of the snakes, Bill's people,

[00:14:06] are all, like, very bad at their jobs.

[00:14:08] You know, the vengeance tour is, like, relatively easy.

[00:14:12] Though, thinking of it,

[00:14:14] the bride's vengeance tour

[00:14:16] actually kind of works out pretty cleanly for her.

[00:14:18] She gets buried alive at one point.

[00:14:21] Yeah.

[00:14:21] That doesn't happen to Natalie.

[00:14:24] But she's being buried alive in the edit.

[00:14:26] I don't disagree.

[00:14:27] I think, like, she's, you know,

[00:14:28] she's going to have to punch her way out of the box.

[00:14:30] She doesn't get a bad edit.

[00:14:31] She just doesn't really get a lot of their time.

[00:14:33] You know?

[00:14:34] She's there around to, like,

[00:14:35] dunk on Drew Christie a little bit,

[00:14:37] and she goes to Exile Island with Baylor.

[00:14:39] But other than that,

[00:14:39] she's really very invisible in this episode.

[00:14:41] Background character.

[00:14:42] Background character waiting to pop.

[00:14:44] Waiting to pop off.

[00:14:44] All right.

[00:14:45] So, in this episode,

[00:14:46] we start things off at Old Coyopa.

[00:14:50] And Keith Nail is a little upset

[00:14:53] because they did a vote split against him,

[00:14:55] and he didn't really...

[00:14:57] I didn't like that.

[00:14:57] No, sir.

[00:14:58] Didn't like that at all.

[00:14:59] He didn't like getting votes on him.

[00:15:01] They're like,

[00:15:01] well, Keith,

[00:15:01] we just wanted to make sure

[00:15:02] that Dale didn't have an idol,

[00:15:04] but similar to Baby Andy.

[00:15:07] He's like,

[00:15:08] wait, so I was the backup plan?

[00:15:10] So that I was the person that,

[00:15:12] you know,

[00:15:13] if he would have played an idol,

[00:15:14] would have gone home?

[00:15:15] Why on God's green earth

[00:15:16] did you pick me?

[00:15:18] Here's what Keith Nail had to say.

[00:15:19] Yeah.

[00:15:20] Are you kidding me?

[00:15:21] My name wasn't in the plan.

[00:15:23] Did I miss the memo?

[00:15:24] I love that.

[00:15:26] Did I miss the memo?

[00:15:27] Did I miss the memo?

[00:15:29] Yes.

[00:15:29] Because Keith Nail,

[00:15:31] you know,

[00:15:31] famously

[00:15:32] was a firefighter,

[00:15:34] worked at the firehouse.

[00:15:36] Are there a lot of like

[00:15:36] inter-office memos

[00:15:38] that happen at the fire department?

[00:15:41] Yes, there are,

[00:15:42] but you got to read them quick

[00:15:44] or those memos burn up.

[00:15:46] Did I miss the memo?

[00:15:48] The memo.

[00:15:50] In like today's

[00:15:53] modern survivor

[00:15:54] editing environment,

[00:15:56] what does the like

[00:15:57] montage of Keith

[00:16:00] putting together

[00:16:01] all of the strategy

[00:16:02] that must be

[00:16:03] happening behind his back

[00:16:05] look like?

[00:16:06] Rather than giving us

[00:16:08] a confessional.

[00:16:08] I'd be curious.

[00:16:09] I would love one of those

[00:16:10] like super cuts

[00:16:11] that we're getting

[00:16:12] for like Andy

[00:16:13] or Genevieve

[00:16:13] or whoever.

[00:16:14] And I would have loved

[00:16:15] to have seen like

[00:16:16] Are you kidding me?

[00:16:17] My

[00:16:19] Keith's inner workings

[00:16:20] would have been incredible.

[00:16:21] Like two

[00:16:23] Keith's like,

[00:16:24] hey,

[00:16:24] you're going to be

[00:16:25] the backup plan.

[00:16:26] It just goes like,

[00:16:27] hey,

[00:16:27] I didn't get to read that.

[00:16:28] I know there's something

[00:16:28] important I'm supposed

[00:16:30] to remember about tomorrow.

[00:16:32] You just see like

[00:16:33] a birthday card

[00:16:34] up in flames.

[00:16:35] Yeah.

[00:16:36] All right.

[00:16:36] So there's no Keith.

[00:16:38] We love you.

[00:16:38] We want to work with you.

[00:16:39] It's like,

[00:16:39] because I think we got

[00:16:40] something good here.

[00:16:41] Yeah,

[00:16:42] but he's already

[00:16:43] thinking like,

[00:16:44] no,

[00:16:45] no,

[00:16:45] I got to get with

[00:16:46] some people I can trust.

[00:16:48] That's him spinning.

[00:16:49] That's in case

[00:16:50] that wasn't clear

[00:16:51] in the audio.

[00:16:52] All right.

[00:16:52] And then we get

[00:16:53] over back on Hunapu.

[00:16:54] It's all being set up

[00:16:56] about how that

[00:16:58] Josh and Reed,

[00:16:59] they do not love Jeremy.

[00:17:01] We didn't hear that

[00:17:02] so much from them

[00:17:03] during their time together.

[00:17:05] But now that we've

[00:17:06] reached the merge,

[00:17:07] Josh is like a little bit

[00:17:08] like a buyer's remorse

[00:17:10] of like,

[00:17:10] I wish we would have

[00:17:11] got out Jeremy.

[00:17:14] Yeah.

[00:17:15] Why didn't we get out

[00:17:15] Jeremy when we had

[00:17:16] the chance?

[00:17:18] Would they have had

[00:17:19] the chance to do it?

[00:17:20] Would they have been

[00:17:20] able to do it?

[00:17:21] Would they have been

[00:17:22] able to pull off

[00:17:22] a Jeremy vote here?

[00:17:23] Yeah,

[00:17:24] I think so.

[00:17:24] If they threw the challenge,

[00:17:25] they have Josh,

[00:17:28] Reed,

[00:17:28] Wes,

[00:17:29] and Alec.

[00:17:30] It feels like that,

[00:17:31] you know,

[00:17:31] those four are pretty close

[00:17:34] and aligned

[00:17:35] following the merge.

[00:17:36] I'm not sure necessarily

[00:17:37] why they wouldn't

[00:17:37] have been able

[00:17:38] to put four votes

[00:17:39] on Jeremy

[00:17:40] against Jeremy.

[00:17:41] Now,

[00:17:42] Alec was the swing

[00:17:43] vote in this situation.

[00:17:45] Yeah.

[00:17:45] So it was the guy

[00:17:46] that Jeremy's trying

[00:17:46] to whoop surround

[00:17:48] and drown.

[00:17:49] But that being said,

[00:17:50] I feel like that

[00:17:52] Alec votes

[00:17:53] with Wes

[00:17:54] and Josh

[00:17:55] and Reed.

[00:17:57] Jeremy's not

[00:17:58] the Jeremy

[00:17:59] that he will become

[00:18:00] yet,

[00:18:00] but even this

[00:18:01] Jeremy,

[00:18:02] is this Jeremy

[00:18:04] a better,

[00:18:07] does he have

[00:18:09] more charm,

[00:18:10] more maneuverability,

[00:18:13] more sway

[00:18:13] than Josh

[00:18:15] at this stage?

[00:18:16] Like,

[00:18:17] Jeremy is

[00:18:17] a terrific,

[00:18:19] incredible

[00:18:20] survivor winner.

[00:18:21] Yes.

[00:18:21] Could he not

[00:18:23] get him,

[00:18:24] like,

[00:18:24] if he knows

[00:18:25] that the votes

[00:18:26] are coming his way,

[00:18:27] which is not

[00:18:27] how it goes down

[00:18:28] when he does go home,

[00:18:29] I believe,

[00:18:31] is he able

[00:18:32] to just,

[00:18:32] like,

[00:18:33] Jedi mind trick

[00:18:33] Alec

[00:18:34] in a way

[00:18:35] that Josh

[00:18:35] That's not

[00:18:35] Jeremy's game.

[00:18:36] I mean,

[00:18:37] that Jeremy,

[00:18:37] I don't really think

[00:18:38] that he is

[00:18:39] a person

[00:18:40] who

[00:18:43] is

[00:18:44] a,

[00:18:45] I'm trying

[00:18:46] to think

[00:18:46] of the right

[00:18:47] word,

[00:18:48] but Jeremy,

[00:18:50] like,

[00:18:50] people love Jeremy.

[00:18:52] They want

[00:18:53] to work

[00:18:53] with Jeremy.

[00:18:54] Jeremy's

[00:18:55] allies

[00:18:56] want to,

[00:18:57] you know,

[00:18:58] play with Jeremy

[00:18:59] and Jeremy

[00:19:00] also supplements

[00:19:01] his game

[00:19:02] with having

[00:19:03] idols

[00:19:03] and,

[00:19:04] you know,

[00:19:04] being just

[00:19:05] so likable

[00:19:06] and people

[00:19:07] wanting to

[00:19:09] work with him.

[00:19:10] He is not

[00:19:12] a person

[00:19:12] who is

[00:19:14] flips votes.

[00:19:16] I don't think.

[00:19:17] I'm trying to

[00:19:17] come up with

[00:19:18] the scenario

[00:19:19] where that

[00:19:19] happens in

[00:19:20] his survivor

[00:19:21] playing career

[00:19:22] and maybe

[00:19:23] somebody

[00:19:24] ends up,

[00:19:25] you know,

[00:19:26] telling me

[00:19:26] that in the

[00:19:27] comments,

[00:19:27] but I just,

[00:19:29] I don't see it

[00:19:30] here,

[00:19:30] especially not

[00:19:31] in this game.

[00:19:32] I mean,

[00:19:32] Jeremy really

[00:19:33] ends up just

[00:19:33] going to this

[00:19:34] one tribal

[00:19:34] council

[00:19:35] pre-merge

[00:19:36] where Drew

[00:19:36] Christie gets

[00:19:37] voted out

[00:19:38] and then

[00:19:39] he'll go to

[00:19:40] one more

[00:19:40] before he gets

[00:19:41] voted out.

[00:19:41] So there's

[00:19:41] not really

[00:19:42] a lot

[00:19:42] here in

[00:19:43] this season

[00:19:44] that people

[00:19:45] want to work

[00:19:46] with Jeremy,

[00:19:47] but that Jeremy

[00:19:48] is not really

[00:19:49] a player that

[00:19:50] comes in

[00:19:51] and Jedi

[00:19:51] mind tricks

[00:19:52] people.

[00:19:52] Sure.

[00:19:53] That's fair.

[00:19:54] And also,

[00:19:55] I think a

[00:19:55] history of

[00:19:56] when he

[00:19:57] is trying

[00:19:58] to work

[00:19:58] with somebody

[00:19:59] who you

[00:19:59] could call,

[00:20:00] let's say

[00:20:01] irascible,

[00:20:03] he can get

[00:20:03] snowed by

[00:20:04] like a Tony

[00:20:05] and not to

[00:20:06] say Alec

[00:20:07] is a Tony

[00:20:08] or a Kimmy

[00:20:09] or a Kimmy

[00:20:10] or a Kimmy.

[00:20:11] That's right.

[00:20:12] That's right.

[00:20:12] So Jeremy

[00:20:14] puts a lot

[00:20:14] of faith

[00:20:14] and trust

[00:20:15] in his allies.

[00:20:16] Yeah.

[00:20:16] Yes.

[00:20:17] Yes.

[00:20:17] Yeah,

[00:20:18] for sure.

[00:20:18] A hundred percent.

[00:20:19] And all right,

[00:20:20] well,

[00:20:20] once that

[00:20:21] reciprocated,

[00:20:23] they didn't do it.

[00:20:24] They could have

[00:20:24] gone to tribal.

[00:20:25] They could have

[00:20:26] gotten rid of

[00:20:26] Jeremy

[00:20:28] and instead

[00:20:29] they didn't

[00:20:30] do that.

[00:20:30] And so now

[00:20:31] Josh and Reed

[00:20:32] are like,

[00:20:32] all right,

[00:20:32] well,

[00:20:32] what's the plan?

[00:20:34] What do we do?

[00:20:34] OK,

[00:20:35] so we're going

[00:20:36] to the merge.

[00:20:37] John and Jacqueline

[00:20:38] are excited

[00:20:39] because they too

[00:20:40] are going to the merge.

[00:20:42] You know what that means?

[00:20:43] Nobody wants to date

[00:20:44] somebody that doesn't

[00:20:44] make it to the merge.

[00:20:46] We can still

[00:20:46] date each other.

[00:20:49] What?

[00:20:50] Do we still talk

[00:20:51] about that?

[00:20:52] Do we talk about

[00:20:52] that?

[00:20:53] No,

[00:20:53] because we don't know

[00:20:54] when you even

[00:20:54] make the merge

[00:20:55] of like,

[00:20:56] did Rome make

[00:20:57] the merge?

[00:20:58] I don't know.

[00:20:58] He made it to

[00:20:59] Mergatory.

[00:20:59] He didn't get a buff.

[00:21:00] I don't know.

[00:21:00] Is he dateable?

[00:21:02] I don't think so.

[00:21:03] Mm hmm.

[00:21:04] I'm going to go out

[00:21:05] on a limb and call

[00:21:05] Rome undateable.

[00:21:06] Yeah.

[00:21:07] Yeah.

[00:21:08] So it's a little bit

[00:21:09] unclear in the new era.

[00:21:10] All right.

[00:21:11] We got our merge

[00:21:12] feast and what a spread

[00:21:14] for everybody.

[00:21:16] They have like a pot

[00:21:18] and they get like

[00:21:18] they get a ton of tools

[00:21:20] out of this,

[00:21:21] too.

[00:21:21] It's ridiculous,

[00:21:22] actually.

[00:21:23] When you think about

[00:21:24] like you're such a new

[00:21:25] era guy now.

[00:21:27] Am I?

[00:21:28] Yeah.

[00:21:29] You're like,

[00:21:29] don't give them anything.

[00:21:30] I want these survivors

[00:21:31] to earn the

[00:21:32] earn this food,

[00:21:34] earn these tools.

[00:21:35] What did they even do?

[00:21:36] All they did was

[00:21:37] just not get voted out.

[00:21:39] Yeah.

[00:21:39] Did they even earn anything?

[00:21:41] They did.

[00:21:43] Josh Wiggler.

[00:21:44] 2024.

[00:21:45] Yeah.

[00:21:45] Put that on the internet

[00:21:47] and print it.

[00:21:48] Let them know.

[00:21:50] Josh Wiggler doesn't think

[00:21:52] it's right that they

[00:21:52] in the old days

[00:21:53] they used to get stuff

[00:21:54] and they didn't even

[00:21:55] have to earn it.

[00:21:56] Well,

[00:21:57] here's my

[00:21:57] here's my

[00:21:58] big ish

[00:21:59] is

[00:22:01] we made

[00:22:02] a whole

[00:22:03] meal

[00:22:04] out of

[00:22:05] giving up

[00:22:06] the pots,

[00:22:08] the this,

[00:22:08] the that,

[00:22:09] the tarp,

[00:22:10] all of it

[00:22:10] for a bag of rice

[00:22:13] to last for the rest

[00:22:14] of the game.

[00:22:15] And

[00:22:16] then immediately

[00:22:17] they win

[00:22:17] charcuterie

[00:22:18] or no,

[00:22:19] they win the

[00:22:20] churrasco.

[00:22:21] I'm sorry.

[00:22:22] They win

[00:22:22] the Brazilian meat market.

[00:22:25] Alec collects

[00:22:26] new meats

[00:22:27] and they're very full

[00:22:29] and then they merge

[00:22:30] and not only do they

[00:22:32] get all this food,

[00:22:33] which is great.

[00:22:33] I do think you should

[00:22:34] have a merge feast

[00:22:35] and I think that

[00:22:36] that's something

[00:22:36] that I don't like

[00:22:39] about the new era.

[00:22:40] I think they should

[00:22:40] all be able to eat.

[00:22:43] Let them eat.

[00:22:44] I do think that

[00:22:45] what I don't know

[00:22:46] that I feel so great about

[00:22:48] is they just gave up

[00:22:49] all of this stuff

[00:22:50] and now they get

[00:22:51] to pick up the pots,

[00:22:53] the pans,

[00:22:53] this little picnic

[00:22:54] You're making

[00:22:55] Jeremy's point for him.

[00:22:57] These guys are

[00:22:58] so dumb.

[00:22:59] I think

[00:23:00] it's just

[00:23:01] they made a bad deal.

[00:23:04] I feel like

[00:23:05] Jeff

[00:23:05] who just told

[00:23:07] these people

[00:23:08] I've never had to

[00:23:09] give anyone so much.

[00:23:11] I hate you,

[00:23:12] he says.

[00:23:12] He says to

[00:23:14] Hunapu.

[00:23:15] He said under his breath.

[00:23:16] I hate you guys.

[00:23:18] And like some of those

[00:23:19] people

[00:23:19] are on Coyopa

[00:23:21] so they aren't

[00:23:21] absolved either.

[00:23:22] You know,

[00:23:23] some of these

[00:23:23] little rice fiends.

[00:23:26] Missy,

[00:23:27] John,

[00:23:28] like a couple

[00:23:28] of these people

[00:23:29] who are also involved.

[00:23:31] And Jeff

[00:23:32] allows

[00:23:33] the newly

[00:23:35] anointed

[00:23:36] Huyopa

[00:23:37] to grab

[00:23:39] this picnic

[00:23:41] blanket

[00:23:42] bags

[00:23:43] filled with

[00:23:44] trail mix.

[00:23:44] How about this?

[00:23:46] Julie McGee

[00:23:47] shouldn't have been

[00:23:47] put in a position

[00:23:48] to quit.

[00:23:49] She shouldn't have

[00:23:50] been allowed

[00:23:51] to grab

[00:23:52] handfuls of

[00:23:53] dried apricots

[00:23:54] and nuts.

[00:23:54] She shouldn't have

[00:23:55] been able to do

[00:23:56] that.

[00:23:57] They should have

[00:23:57] had to leave it

[00:23:58] all behind.

[00:23:59] None of these

[00:24:00] tools

[00:24:00] should have been

[00:24:01] allowed to

[00:24:02] take tools.

[00:24:03] Okay.

[00:24:04] That's my

[00:24:05] take.

[00:24:05] All right.

[00:24:06] Well,

[00:24:06] everybody is

[00:24:08] getting together

[00:24:08] and we got to

[00:24:09] try to figure out

[00:24:10] what we are

[00:24:12] doing.

[00:24:13] The couples

[00:24:14] have found

[00:24:15] each other.

[00:24:15] We got a lot

[00:24:16] of couples

[00:24:16] here in the

[00:24:17] game now

[00:24:18] here at the

[00:24:19] merge.

[00:24:21] Eight to four.

[00:24:22] Yeah.

[00:24:22] That's the spread.

[00:24:23] It's eight people

[00:24:25] who are in

[00:24:26] couples and four

[00:24:27] people who are

[00:24:27] singles.

[00:24:28] Yeah.

[00:24:28] And I'm trying

[00:24:28] to remember

[00:24:29] back to the

[00:24:29] first Blood

[00:24:30] vs. Water.

[00:24:31] But by the time

[00:24:32] we got to the

[00:24:32] merge, there

[00:24:33] weren't as many

[00:24:34] couples.

[00:24:34] I think there

[00:24:35] was what?

[00:24:36] Aris and

[00:24:36] Vitas and

[00:24:37] then Tina and

[00:24:38] Katie and

[00:24:39] Laura and

[00:24:39] Sierra.

[00:24:40] And was that

[00:24:40] it?

[00:24:41] Well, Laura

[00:24:41] was also on.

[00:24:43] Laura was out,

[00:24:44] but then she

[00:24:44] comes back.

[00:24:45] She comes back.

[00:24:45] So I guess

[00:24:47] only three

[00:24:48] pairs then,

[00:24:50] unless I'm

[00:24:51] forgetting

[00:24:51] somebody.

[00:24:52] Meanwhile,

[00:24:53] we have here

[00:24:54] of the players

[00:24:56] that are left

[00:24:56] in the game,

[00:24:57] we have

[00:24:57] Josh and

[00:24:58] Reed.

[00:24:59] We have

[00:25:00] Keith and

[00:25:01] Wes.

[00:25:01] We have

[00:25:02] John and

[00:25:04] Jacqueline and

[00:25:05] Baylor and

[00:25:05] Missy.

[00:25:06] So what?

[00:25:08] Eight out of

[00:25:08] 12.

[00:25:09] Yeah.

[00:25:10] Our couples

[00:25:11] are in

[00:25:11] are in

[00:25:12] and four

[00:25:13] out of 12.

[00:25:14] and Julie

[00:25:16] is getting

[00:25:17] sad.

[00:25:18] She's

[00:25:19] upset.

[00:25:21] No one

[00:25:22] on earth

[00:25:23] has ever

[00:25:24] missed John

[00:25:24] Rocker

[00:25:25] more than

[00:25:26] Julie McGee

[00:25:27] in this

[00:25:27] episode.

[00:25:29] That just

[00:25:30] hasn't happened

[00:25:31] for John

[00:25:31] Rocker in any

[00:25:32] other things.

[00:25:32] The story had

[00:25:33] been anecdotally

[00:25:34] that she did

[00:25:35] not like it

[00:25:36] that John

[00:25:37] Rocker was

[00:25:37] about to go

[00:25:38] off on the

[00:25:38] pre-jury trip

[00:25:39] and then they

[00:25:40] were going to

[00:25:40] be separated.

[00:25:41] She was not

[00:25:41] going to see him

[00:25:42] until the end

[00:25:43] of the game

[00:25:43] then.

[00:25:44] She says

[00:25:45] it in this

[00:25:46] episode,

[00:25:47] if I don't

[00:25:48] get some

[00:25:48] personal space,

[00:25:50] I'm going to

[00:25:50] freak out.

[00:25:52] Bad things

[00:25:53] are going to

[00:25:53] happen.

[00:25:54] I think she

[00:25:55] makes a

[00:25:56] reasonable,

[00:25:57] healthy life

[00:25:58] decision.

[00:26:00] And I do

[00:26:01] think now,

[00:26:02] with the

[00:26:02] benefit of

[00:26:03] time,

[00:26:04] I think

[00:26:04] it's great

[00:26:05] for the

[00:26:05] season as

[00:26:06] well.

[00:26:07] I think

[00:26:07] the thing

[00:26:08] that all

[00:26:09] these years

[00:26:10] later,

[00:26:10] we were

[00:26:10] just

[00:26:10] anticipating it.

[00:26:11] We knew

[00:26:12] it was

[00:26:12] coming because

[00:26:13] of that

[00:26:13] super

[00:26:13] trailer.

[00:26:14] There was

[00:26:14] a super

[00:26:14] trailer at

[00:26:15] the very

[00:26:15] start of

[00:26:15] the season.

[00:26:16] It's just,

[00:26:16] you're telling

[00:26:17] me you're

[00:26:17] going to

[00:26:17] quit?

[00:26:18] And so

[00:26:19] we knew

[00:26:19] that someone

[00:26:20] was going

[00:26:20] to leave.

[00:26:22] It was

[00:26:22] very clear

[00:26:23] that it

[00:26:23] was going

[00:26:23] to be

[00:26:23] Julie.

[00:26:25] Julie.

[00:26:27] Julie.

[00:26:30] Let's talk

[00:26:31] about where

[00:26:31] we are in

[00:26:31] the game

[00:26:32] right now

[00:26:32] because

[00:26:33] Jeremy

[00:26:34] talks to

[00:26:34] John.

[00:26:36] And

[00:26:36] John,

[00:26:38] we need

[00:26:38] you for part

[00:26:39] of the

[00:26:39] seven.

[00:26:39] If we

[00:26:40] have

[00:26:40] John,

[00:26:41] if we

[00:26:41] have

[00:26:42] John,

[00:26:43] then

[00:26:43] John and

[00:26:45] Jacqueline,

[00:26:45] and then

[00:26:46] you have

[00:26:47] Jeremy and

[00:26:48] Natalie and

[00:26:49] Baylor and

[00:26:50] Missy and

[00:26:51] Julie.

[00:26:51] That's

[00:26:51] seven.

[00:26:52] Seven to

[00:26:54] 12 is in.

[00:26:55] It's a good

[00:26:56] block.

[00:26:56] We love

[00:26:57] that block.

[00:26:59] Seven out

[00:26:59] of 12.

[00:27:00] Not bad.

[00:27:01] Yeah.

[00:27:01] That would

[00:27:02] be good.

[00:27:02] And so

[00:27:03] Missy and

[00:27:05] John,

[00:27:06] they have

[00:27:07] a good

[00:27:07] relationship still.

[00:27:08] And Jeremy

[00:27:09] is still

[00:27:09] with Missy.

[00:27:11] So this

[00:27:12] is feeling

[00:27:12] good.

[00:27:13] Jeremy's

[00:27:13] like,

[00:27:13] okay,

[00:27:14] finally,

[00:27:14] I'm going

[00:27:14] to get

[00:27:15] one over

[00:27:15] on Josh

[00:27:16] and Reed.

[00:27:17] Finally.

[00:27:18] Yeah.

[00:27:19] However,

[00:27:21] someone is

[00:27:22] feeling some

[00:27:22] measure of

[00:27:23] conflict about

[00:27:24] all of

[00:27:24] this.

[00:27:25] Is that

[00:27:25] now?

[00:27:26] Is that

[00:27:26] is this

[00:27:28] not yet?

[00:27:29] Not yet.

[00:27:30] Sorry.

[00:27:31] It's also

[00:27:31] West nails.

[00:27:32] Sorry.

[00:27:33] I shouldn't

[00:27:33] be driving.

[00:27:33] Let me get

[00:27:34] in the backseat.

[00:27:34] I'll let

[00:27:34] you get in

[00:27:35] the backseat.

[00:27:36] Let me

[00:27:36] drive.

[00:27:37] Okay.

[00:27:37] Get in

[00:27:37] the backseat

[00:27:38] and let

[00:27:38] me drive.

[00:27:39] All right.

[00:27:39] Yeah.

[00:27:41] It's

[00:27:41] West nails

[00:27:42] birthday.

[00:27:43] Uh,

[00:27:43] West nails

[00:27:44] birthday is

[00:27:46] June 19th.

[00:27:48] It's

[00:27:48] June 19th,

[00:27:50] 2014.

[00:27:51] Okay.

[00:27:52] Real time.

[00:27:53] Yeah.

[00:27:53] Yes.

[00:27:55] Long,

[00:27:55] long live,

[00:27:56] long live

[00:27:57] the exceptional

[00:27:59] Keith nail.

[00:28:00] Yeah.

[00:28:01] the late

[00:28:02] great who

[00:28:03] 10 years

[00:28:04] ago forgot

[00:28:06] his son's

[00:28:06] birthday.

[00:28:07] He did

[00:28:07] forget

[00:28:07] his son's

[00:28:07] birthday.

[00:28:08] By the

[00:28:08] way,

[00:28:08] as I'm

[00:28:09] looking at

[00:28:09] the

[00:28:09] birthdays

[00:28:10] of

[00:28:12] survivor

[00:28:12] San

[00:28:12] Juan

[00:28:12] del Sur,

[00:28:13] Jeremy

[00:28:13] Collins

[00:28:14] birthday.

[00:28:15] You won't

[00:28:15] forget it.

[00:28:16] He's

[00:28:16] born

[00:28:17] April

[00:28:17] 20th.

[00:28:19] Hey,

[00:28:22] and he

[00:28:22] hit

[00:28:23] professionally

[00:28:23] deals with

[00:28:24] smoke.

[00:28:25] Yeah.

[00:28:26] Yeah.

[00:28:27] Jeremy

[00:28:27] Collins also

[00:28:28] same age

[00:28:29] as me.

[00:28:31] Is that

[00:28:31] right?

[00:28:32] Yeah.

[00:28:33] Am I

[00:28:33] supposed to

[00:28:33] have some

[00:28:33] kind of

[00:28:34] reaction to

[00:28:34] that?

[00:28:36] I think

[00:28:37] you guys

[00:28:37] are great.

[00:28:38] Yeah.

[00:28:39] Okay.

[00:28:40] So you

[00:28:41] guys are

[00:28:42] both 25.

[00:28:45] Yeah.

[00:28:47] Jeremy

[00:28:48] Collins is

[00:28:49] six months

[00:28:50] older than

[00:28:51] me.

[00:28:52] Okay.

[00:28:53] All right.

[00:28:53] Yeah.

[00:28:54] Okay.

[00:28:56] So contemporary

[00:28:57] appear of

[00:28:58] Rob

[00:28:58] Cesternino.

[00:28:59] Yes.

[00:28:59] Collins.

[00:28:59] Yes.

[00:29:00] Okay.

[00:29:01] So West

[00:29:02] nailed his

[00:29:03] birthday.

[00:29:04] Josh

[00:29:05] remembers

[00:29:06] West's

[00:29:07] birthday.

[00:29:07] It was a

[00:29:08] happy birthday

[00:29:08] and Keith's

[00:29:09] like,

[00:29:09] I forgot.

[00:29:11] Did I

[00:29:12] miss the

[00:29:12] memo?

[00:29:13] He missed

[00:29:14] the memo.

[00:29:15] He missed

[00:29:16] the memo.

[00:29:16] That wasn't

[00:29:17] part of the

[00:29:17] montage.

[00:29:18] That being

[00:29:19] said,

[00:29:20] Keith,

[00:29:21] Keith

[00:29:22] goes and

[00:29:23] gets a

[00:29:23] crab and

[00:29:24] he gives

[00:29:25] his son

[00:29:25] crab for

[00:29:26] his birthday.

[00:29:27] Yeah.

[00:29:27] A cooked

[00:29:28] crab too.

[00:29:28] He like

[00:29:29] stabbed it

[00:29:30] and then

[00:29:31] gave it to

[00:29:33] Wes.

[00:29:34] To Wesley.

[00:29:35] Did he make

[00:29:36] a secret

[00:29:36] fire somewhere?

[00:29:38] How did he

[00:29:38] cook that

[00:29:39] without

[00:29:39] Wes?

[00:29:40] He pulled

[00:29:41] the Jane

[00:29:41] Bright.

[00:29:42] The plan.

[00:29:44] Did you

[00:29:45] see Jane?

[00:29:46] I did see

[00:29:46] Jane Bright.

[00:29:47] I didn't ask

[00:29:48] her about

[00:29:48] Mr.

[00:29:49] Farty.

[00:29:52] Forgot

[00:29:52] to answer.

[00:29:53] You were

[00:29:53] at this

[00:29:54] thing,

[00:29:55] right?

[00:29:55] You hosted

[00:29:57] a survivor

[00:29:58] event.

[00:29:58] In North

[00:30:00] Carolina.

[00:30:00] Yeah,

[00:30:01] I was at

[00:30:01] UNC over

[00:30:02] the weekend

[00:30:02] and we

[00:30:03] screened the

[00:30:03] upcoming

[00:30:04] survivor

[00:30:04] episode.

[00:30:05] haven't gotten

[00:30:05] the download

[00:30:06] from you

[00:30:06] about it

[00:30:07] at all.

[00:30:07] How was

[00:30:07] it?

[00:30:08] It was

[00:30:08] good?

[00:30:08] Yeah,

[00:30:09] it was

[00:30:09] very fun.

[00:30:10] So,

[00:30:10] Jane Bright

[00:30:12] started a

[00:30:12] North Carolina

[00:30:13] alliance,

[00:30:13] was there,

[00:30:14] Crystal Cox,

[00:30:15] Sabrina Thompson,

[00:30:18] Johnny Fairplay,

[00:30:20] JFP,

[00:30:22] and Sandra

[00:30:24] Diaz-Twine.

[00:30:26] Yes.

[00:30:26] and me.

[00:30:28] How was

[00:30:29] Jane?

[00:30:30] Jane was

[00:30:31] lovely.

[00:30:32] Yeah.

[00:30:33] She was

[00:30:34] super nice.

[00:30:35] She didn't

[00:30:35] give you any

[00:30:36] nicknames?

[00:30:36] No,

[00:30:37] she didn't

[00:30:37] give me any

[00:30:37] nicknames.

[00:30:38] She loves

[00:30:38] Survivor still.

[00:30:40] She says she

[00:30:41] watches it like

[00:30:42] every episode

[00:30:42] four or five

[00:30:43] times.

[00:30:45] She looks

[00:30:46] great.

[00:30:47] She's super

[00:30:47] nice.

[00:30:48] You're a

[00:30:49] podcaster.

[00:30:50] I'm going to

[00:30:51] call you

[00:30:51] Mr.

[00:30:52] Potty.

[00:30:54] She did

[00:30:54] not call

[00:30:55] me that.

[00:30:56] Mr.

[00:30:56] Potty.

[00:30:56] She's very

[00:30:56] nice.

[00:30:57] Yeah.

[00:30:58] Yeah.

[00:30:59] Rob,

[00:30:59] or as I

[00:31:00] like to

[00:31:00] call him,

[00:31:01] Mr.

[00:31:01] I didn't

[00:31:02] ask her

[00:31:02] about

[00:31:03] Marty

[00:31:03] Piambo

[00:31:03] or that

[00:31:04] Steven

[00:31:04] Fishback

[00:31:04] was constantly

[00:31:05] talking about

[00:31:06] Marty

[00:31:06] Piambo

[00:31:06] 10 years

[00:31:07] ago.

[00:31:07] That's a

[00:31:07] shame.

[00:31:08] I feel

[00:31:08] like there's

[00:31:08] no other

[00:31:09] way we were

[00:31:09] going to

[00:31:09] get a

[00:31:10] Marty

[00:31:10] Piambo

[00:31:10] update

[00:31:10] at all.

[00:31:12] Yeah.

[00:31:12] Although

[00:31:12] I cannot

[00:31:13] imagine she

[00:31:14] has an

[00:31:14] update,

[00:31:14] right?

[00:31:23] No crab

[00:31:24] overload for

[00:31:25] Wes.

[00:31:25] Decent

[00:31:26] birthday

[00:31:26] gift as

[00:31:27] far as

[00:31:27] survivor

[00:31:28] goes,

[00:31:28] right?

[00:31:28] I think

[00:31:29] if you are

[00:31:31] a survivor

[00:31:31] player who

[00:31:32] celebrates

[00:31:32] your birthday

[00:31:33] out there

[00:31:34] on the

[00:31:35] beach,

[00:31:36] what do

[00:31:37] you want

[00:31:37] the most?

[00:31:39] Probably

[00:31:39] the answer

[00:31:40] for like

[00:31:44] family feud

[00:31:45] style,

[00:31:45] like on

[00:31:46] the board,

[00:31:46] number one

[00:31:47] is food,

[00:31:48] right?

[00:31:49] So he gives

[00:31:50] him a

[00:31:51] roasted crab

[00:31:52] all to

[00:31:52] himself.

[00:31:53] Yeah.

[00:31:54] That's not

[00:31:54] bad.

[00:31:55] That's a

[00:31:55] pretty good

[00:31:55] gift.

[00:31:56] Not bad.

[00:31:57] All right.

[00:31:58] So Josh

[00:32:00] and Reed,

[00:32:01] Josh,

[00:32:01] remember

[00:32:02] our birthdays

[00:32:03] that they

[00:32:04] are focused

[00:32:05] on Jeremy

[00:32:05] and Josh

[00:32:07] says,

[00:32:08] Baylor

[00:32:09] owes me.

[00:32:10] I need

[00:32:11] to go

[00:32:11] and find

[00:32:12] Baylor

[00:32:13] because she

[00:32:14] is my

[00:32:15] friend from

[00:32:16] before the

[00:32:16] game and I

[00:32:17] saved her

[00:32:17] butt and she

[00:32:18] owes me

[00:32:19] one.

[00:32:20] Rob,

[00:32:21] are we

[00:32:21] still good?

[00:32:24] I think

[00:32:24] so,

[00:32:25] right?

[00:32:25] As far

[00:32:26] as you

[00:32:26] know?

[00:32:27] As far

[00:32:27] as I

[00:32:27] know.

[00:32:28] Yeah.

[00:32:29] Is that

[00:32:29] a bad,

[00:32:30] that's a

[00:32:30] bad answer

[00:32:31] probably,

[00:32:32] right?

[00:32:32] Like,

[00:32:32] are we

[00:32:33] still good

[00:32:34] as far

[00:32:34] as I

[00:32:35] know?

[00:32:35] Mm-hmm.

[00:32:36] That's

[00:32:36] like,

[00:32:37] it is

[00:32:37] an evasive.

[00:32:38] It's kind

[00:32:38] of an

[00:32:39] aggressive

[00:32:39] question,

[00:32:40] though.

[00:32:40] It is

[00:32:41] an aggressive

[00:32:42] question,

[00:32:42] but I

[00:32:43] think it's

[00:32:43] a really

[00:32:45] evasive

[00:32:46] answer.

[00:32:46] Wait,

[00:32:47] actually,

[00:32:47] you know what?

[00:32:48] Is it

[00:32:48] an aggressive

[00:32:49] question?

[00:32:50] Literally,

[00:32:50] the question

[00:32:51] is,

[00:32:52] we're good,

[00:32:53] right?

[00:32:53] Like,

[00:32:53] doesn't that

[00:32:54] mean it's

[00:32:54] like,

[00:32:55] it's like

[00:32:55] not a good

[00:32:55] What's giving

[00:32:56] you the

[00:32:56] implication that

[00:32:57] we're not

[00:32:57] going to?

[00:32:57] Like,

[00:32:58] why would

[00:32:58] we not

[00:32:58] be?

[00:32:59] We've been

[00:32:59] separated for

[00:33:00] days.

[00:33:01] Mm-hmm.

[00:33:02] And we've only

[00:33:03] known each other

[00:33:03] for days,

[00:33:04] so a lot could

[00:33:05] have changed.

[00:33:05] Mm-hmm.

[00:33:06] Yeah.

[00:33:07] She's shady,

[00:33:08] though.

[00:33:09] He doesn't

[00:33:09] like,

[00:33:09] he's like,

[00:33:10] oops,

[00:33:11] I don't

[00:33:11] think we're

[00:33:12] good.

[00:33:12] Yeah.

[00:33:13] But Josh,

[00:33:13] remember when

[00:33:14] you voted

[00:33:14] for Baylor

[00:33:15] for no

[00:33:15] reason and

[00:33:15] didn't tell

[00:33:16] her?

[00:33:16] Like,

[00:33:16] this is

[00:33:17] not,

[00:33:17] like,

[00:33:18] the

[00:33:19] firmest

[00:33:19] relationship

[00:33:20] in Survivor

[00:33:21] history.

[00:33:22] It's not,

[00:33:23] but oddly,

[00:33:23] that does

[00:33:24] not really

[00:33:25] appear to

[00:33:25] be a part

[00:33:26] of the

[00:33:26] calculus

[00:33:26] for Baylor

[00:33:27] at all.

[00:33:28] Like,

[00:33:28] it's not

[00:33:29] brought up,

[00:33:30] and in fact,

[00:33:30] like,

[00:33:31] she's being

[00:33:31] shady here

[00:33:32] because she's

[00:33:33] already,

[00:33:33] like,

[00:33:34] you know,

[00:33:34] pledged fealty

[00:33:35] to her mother

[00:33:36] and her mother's

[00:33:37] obligations.

[00:33:39] But,

[00:33:39] like,

[00:33:39] she never once,

[00:33:40] like,

[00:33:40] says anything

[00:33:41] about,

[00:33:41] like,

[00:33:41] oh,

[00:33:42] man,

[00:33:42] and I'm

[00:33:42] gonna,

[00:33:42] like,

[00:33:43] you know,

[00:33:44] I'm finally

[00:33:45] gonna get

[00:33:45] justice for

[00:33:46] when,

[00:33:47] justice,

[00:33:47] brother,

[00:33:48] I'm finally

[00:33:48] gonna get

[00:33:50] vengeance

[00:33:50] on Josh

[00:33:51] for voting

[00:33:52] for me

[00:33:52] that one time.

[00:33:53] Like,

[00:33:53] that's not it.

[00:33:54] Yeah,

[00:33:54] she's not looking

[00:33:54] for vengeance.

[00:33:55] So Josh is,

[00:33:56] like,

[00:33:56] hey,

[00:33:56] like,

[00:33:57] okay,

[00:33:57] so we have

[00:33:57] me and

[00:33:59] Josh,

[00:34:00] Josh has

[00:34:01] Reed,

[00:34:02] has Keith

[00:34:03] and Wes,

[00:34:04] has Alec,

[00:34:05] that's five.

[00:34:06] All right,

[00:34:07] we're gonna bring

[00:34:07] Baylor into this.

[00:34:09] Baylor owes me

[00:34:10] from back in the day,

[00:34:12] and so we're gonna

[00:34:13] bring her in.

[00:34:14] Meanwhile,

[00:34:15] Missy has already

[00:34:16] promised the Missy

[00:34:17] and Baylor vote

[00:34:18] to Jeremy,

[00:34:20] and Baylor is like,

[00:34:22] mom,

[00:34:23] I don't wanna do that.

[00:34:24] And Missy is like,

[00:34:26] young lady,

[00:34:27] you are going,

[00:34:27] you just have to be fake,

[00:34:29] okay?

[00:34:29] You have to suck it up.

[00:34:31] She gives a confessional

[00:34:33] in this episode.

[00:34:34] She's like,

[00:34:34] she's like,

[00:34:35] Baylor,

[00:34:36] she's 20,

[00:34:37] but sometimes

[00:34:38] she could be 30

[00:34:39] or she could be 10.

[00:34:41] And she needs

[00:34:42] to suck it up

[00:34:43] and be fake

[00:34:44] and lie to Josh

[00:34:46] and she can

[00:34:47] go ahead.

[00:34:48] Get in the backseat

[00:34:49] and let me drive.

[00:34:50] Get in the backseat

[00:34:51] and let me drive.

[00:34:53] I feel like this is

[00:34:54] a great Missy episode.

[00:34:56] Yeah.

[00:34:57] A great,

[00:34:58] like for Missy content,

[00:35:00] this is a terrific episode.

[00:35:02] It goes without saying

[00:35:03] that what you've just played

[00:35:04] is iconic.

[00:35:06] We still say this,

[00:35:07] yeah,

[00:35:08] you know,

[00:35:08] get in the backseat

[00:35:09] and let me drive.

[00:35:10] We don't really say that often,

[00:35:11] but maybe it'll come back.

[00:35:12] I still say it.

[00:35:13] I still say it.

[00:35:14] Anytime I can,

[00:35:16] I will bring it up.

[00:35:18] But she has a couple

[00:35:19] of other like really

[00:35:20] like quietly

[00:35:22] great moments.

[00:35:23] I feel like the,

[00:35:23] like we could have

[00:35:24] like just gotten

[00:35:25] the audio

[00:35:26] from the entire exchange

[00:35:27] with Keith

[00:35:27] early in the episode,

[00:35:28] like the way,

[00:35:29] like that's my kid,

[00:35:30] you know,

[00:35:30] like just like the way

[00:35:31] she does all of that.

[00:35:32] And then I,

[00:35:33] did you,

[00:35:33] you didn't happen to pull

[00:35:36] her and Julie's

[00:35:37] conversation later,

[00:35:38] did you?

[00:35:39] Cause she has like this one,

[00:35:40] you're feeling,

[00:35:41] you're feeling blah.

[00:35:42] You're feeling,

[00:35:43] you're feeling bad.

[00:35:44] You're feeling toast.

[00:35:45] Like the way that she talks

[00:35:46] to Julie later,

[00:35:48] like just incredible,

[00:35:50] incredible muffin content.

[00:35:51] Yeah.

[00:35:53] So muffin is trying

[00:35:54] to hold it all together here.

[00:35:58] So Josh,

[00:35:59] the great character

[00:36:00] who maybe should have been able

[00:36:01] to come back to Survivor.

[00:36:02] Is that a hot date?

[00:36:03] Yeah.

[00:36:03] I think it's a little hot take.

[00:36:04] She doesn't make it

[00:36:05] through the 39 days.

[00:36:06] Like I think that there was

[00:36:07] probably a little bit

[00:36:08] more of like a desire

[00:36:10] for Baylor to come back

[00:36:12] than Missy.

[00:36:13] I think,

[00:36:13] I think,

[00:36:14] I think a Missy,

[00:36:16] if it was one or the other,

[00:36:18] I think a Missy repeat

[00:36:20] would have been,

[00:36:21] would have been great.

[00:36:23] I feel like Missy

[00:36:23] on second chances

[00:36:25] could have been very fun.

[00:36:26] Hmm.

[00:36:27] That's my take.

[00:36:28] All these years later,

[00:36:29] I think rewatching

[00:36:30] San Juan del Sur.

[00:36:31] I'm not saying that Missy

[00:36:33] is like the person

[00:36:34] that I'd want to go out

[00:36:35] and like have trail mix

[00:36:36] with necessarily,

[00:36:37] but I do think she's somebody

[00:36:38] who I would like to continue

[00:36:40] to have on my television screen.

[00:36:41] Okay.

[00:36:42] So,

[00:36:44] Josh and Reed

[00:36:45] are making their play

[00:36:46] to John and Jacqueline

[00:36:48] and they're saying like,

[00:36:49] hey,

[00:36:49] go to the end with us.

[00:36:51] We're Broadway stars.

[00:36:53] Nobody's going to vote for us.

[00:36:57] Uh-huh.

[00:36:58] Yeah.

[00:36:58] What does a Broadway star make?

[00:37:03] I think it depends.

[00:37:04] There's a lot of variance.

[00:37:07] What is like the average salary?

[00:37:09] Like,

[00:37:10] how much money

[00:37:12] does Reed make

[00:37:14] for being Spider-Man?

[00:37:17] Like,

[00:37:17] do you get a Spider-Man salary bump?

[00:37:19] I think you'd probably,

[00:37:21] depends on the show,

[00:37:22] but yeah,

[00:37:22] I don't really get that.

[00:37:23] Like,

[00:37:23] nobody's going to vote for them.

[00:37:25] I'm not sure,

[00:37:25] is it like,

[00:37:26] because we're already famous,

[00:37:28] because there's like,

[00:37:29] we're like,

[00:37:30] New York elites.

[00:37:31] Is there some sort of like,

[00:37:33] um,

[00:37:34] I think they're like,

[00:37:34] trying to lean on the stigma

[00:37:36] of like,

[00:37:37] uh,

[00:37:37] actors have money,

[00:37:39] even though like,

[00:37:39] the real truth,

[00:37:41] even though the real truth

[00:37:42] is like,

[00:37:43] actors.

[00:37:44] Starving actor

[00:37:44] is like a thing.

[00:37:46] And they're literally

[00:37:47] starving actors.

[00:37:48] Yeah.

[00:37:48] That's for the trail mix

[00:37:50] to try it as at the bottom

[00:37:51] of a bag.

[00:37:52] Like,

[00:37:52] they are not filthy rich.

[00:37:54] Uh,

[00:37:55] but like,

[00:37:55] I guess like,

[00:37:56] uh,

[00:37:57] these people don't know any better.

[00:37:58] So maybe it's not the worst pitch

[00:38:00] for now,

[00:38:01] I guess.

[00:38:02] But John is very impressionable.

[00:38:04] He's like,

[00:38:04] oh yeah,

[00:38:05] yeah.

[00:38:05] Oh my,

[00:38:06] that Jacqueline,

[00:38:07] they're,

[00:38:07] they're actors.

[00:38:10] She's like,

[00:38:11] I don't know.

[00:38:12] I'm telling you,

[00:38:13] all of the people,

[00:38:15] all of the men

[00:38:15] of San Juan Tell Sur

[00:38:17] are dogs

[00:38:18] until proven otherwise.

[00:38:19] Like,

[00:38:20] it's such dog behavior.

[00:38:21] Like,

[00:38:21] oh,

[00:38:22] but what about them?

[00:38:23] They could be fun to play with.

[00:38:25] Sam Moore says,

[00:38:26] no,

[00:38:26] no,

[00:38:26] no,

[00:38:26] no,

[00:38:26] no,

[00:38:26] no,

[00:38:27] stop running away.

[00:38:28] Don't bark at those.

[00:38:29] Minimum weekly salary

[00:38:30] is 2,600.

[00:38:31] Every person in the show

[00:38:32] gets 2,600?

[00:38:34] That feels unlikely.

[00:38:35] There's a lot of people

[00:38:36] in some of these shows.

[00:38:37] Yeah.

[00:38:38] Yeah.

[00:38:38] Uh,

[00:38:39] that's,

[00:38:39] uh,

[00:38:39] a one man show

[00:38:40] is really,

[00:38:41] uh,

[00:38:41] cost affordable.

[00:38:42] Mm-hmm.

[00:38:43] Yeah.

[00:38:44] All right.

[00:38:45] So,

[00:38:46] oh,

[00:38:46] can I just add,

[00:38:47] all right,

[00:38:47] so,

[00:38:47] uh,

[00:38:47] we,

[00:38:48] we do have live chatter here.

[00:38:49] Uh,

[00:38:49] and so this,

[00:38:50] this from GY64,

[00:38:52] Missy wasn't getting voted on

[00:38:54] to second chance.

[00:38:55] Do you think Missy would have-

[00:38:55] Shut your mouth,

[00:38:57] homie G.

[00:38:59] Y64.

[00:39:00] Uh,

[00:39:00] do we think,

[00:39:02] Missy had a shot?

[00:39:03] Would Missy have been,

[00:39:04] uh,

[00:39:05] voted back on to second chance?

[00:39:07] Um,

[00:39:08] I would say,

[00:39:11] um,

[00:39:12] Did she get the spot

[00:39:13] that Kimmy got?

[00:39:14] My,

[00:39:14] my answer would be,

[00:39:15] uh,

[00:39:15] Not.

[00:39:16] No.

[00:39:19] I don't think so.

[00:39:20] I don't think-

[00:39:21] I think I would have put Missy

[00:39:22] on my ballot.

[00:39:23] I think I would have voted

[00:39:24] for Missy.

[00:39:25] Mama C didn't get on,

[00:39:27] and she was,

[00:39:28] like,

[00:39:28] I think in the same

[00:39:29] sort of demo.

[00:39:31] Hot take.

[00:39:32] You ready?

[00:39:32] What?

[00:39:33] I'd sooner put Missy on.

[00:39:35] Then Mama C?

[00:39:36] Mama C would have said,

[00:39:37] had a catchphrase.

[00:39:38] She'd say,

[00:39:38] yeah,

[00:39:38] baby.

[00:39:40] Yep.

[00:39:40] I'm playing idols,

[00:39:41] baby.

[00:39:42] She's got a hundred

[00:39:43] catchphrases.

[00:39:44] Love you,

[00:39:44] bae.

[00:39:45] Get the vaccine.

[00:39:46] Let me drive.

[00:39:47] You're toast.

[00:39:48] You know,

[00:39:48] Missy,

[00:39:49] Missy is a catchphrase

[00:39:50] machine over here.

[00:39:52] Now,

[00:39:53] Reed,

[00:39:53] Reed made an impression

[00:39:55] of her in public.

[00:39:57] Anyone who gets read

[00:39:59] or readed for filth

[00:40:01] the way that she did,

[00:40:02] I feel like,

[00:40:02] was doing something

[00:40:03] right for television.

[00:40:04] Our friend,

[00:40:05] uh,

[00:40:05] Tegwith did an iconic,

[00:40:07] uh,

[00:40:07] reenactment of the Reed

[00:40:09] final tribal council

[00:40:10] speech on Instagram

[00:40:10] this week.

[00:40:11] Ooh,

[00:40:12] wow.

[00:40:12] As like a Halloween thing?

[00:40:14] I don't think it was for

[00:40:14] Halloween.

[00:40:16] Just for fun?

[00:40:17] She just did it for fun.

[00:40:18] Yeah.

[00:40:18] Cool.

[00:40:19] Yes.

[00:40:20] Uh,

[00:40:20] she did the whole thing.

[00:40:22] Nice.

[00:40:23] Verbatim.

[00:40:24] so maybe people were just like,

[00:40:26] it was,

[00:40:26] we could replay that on the,

[00:40:28] uh,

[00:40:28] finale episode.

[00:40:29] We can get the rights.

[00:40:30] Can we secure the rights?

[00:40:31] Yeah.

[00:40:32] Here.

[00:40:32] We'll do this.

[00:40:33] Reach out.

[00:40:35] Here.

[00:40:35] I'll do it now.

[00:40:36] I mean,

[00:40:36] I could bring stuff up

[00:40:38] on the screen,

[00:40:39] uh,

[00:40:39] from Instagram real quick.

[00:40:41] Okay.

[00:40:41] Here we go.

[00:40:43] She did say Halloween.

[00:40:45] Um,

[00:40:46] yeah.

[00:40:46] She says,

[00:40:47] uh,

[00:40:47] your Halloween gift,

[00:40:48] uh,

[00:40:48] from me to you.

[00:40:50] Okay.

[00:40:50] You cast yourself as a motherly figure.

[00:40:53] However,

[00:40:53] fans of classic literary fiction

[00:40:55] will see through very quickly

[00:40:56] to who your true character was,

[00:40:58] which is the wicked stepmother

[00:40:59] really of the tribe.

[00:41:01] It's the eccentric woman

[00:41:02] who comes in and makes demands

[00:41:03] of everyone for the things

[00:41:04] to which she feels so entitled,

[00:41:06] you know?

[00:41:06] I mean,

[00:41:07] yeah.

[00:41:07] I mean,

[00:41:08] wow.

[00:41:08] Are fans of classic literary fiction

[00:41:11] going to vote the wicked stepmother in?

[00:41:14] They didn't vote T-Bird in.

[00:41:15] They didn't vote T-Bird in.

[00:41:17] They didn't vote T-Bird in,

[00:41:18] but you know what?

[00:41:19] Uh,

[00:41:19] I do feel like

[00:41:22] I think there's a lot of reasons

[00:41:25] to think that like game changers

[00:41:26] was the wrong idea

[00:41:27] and came too quickly.

[00:41:28] I think like in the thirties,

[00:41:30] if we had cooled our jets,

[00:41:32] uh,

[00:41:33] and not gone directly that route

[00:41:35] for 34

[00:41:36] and let some of these other things

[00:41:38] play out,

[00:41:38] millennials,

[00:41:39] Gen X,

[00:41:39] these are the three tribe thingies,

[00:41:41] uh,

[00:41:41] and like deeper into the thirties,

[00:41:43] you do another second chance

[00:41:45] and there were so many people

[00:41:46] to bring in.

[00:41:48] Now I don't know that like there's,

[00:41:49] it's too wide a net

[00:41:50] for a second chance.

[00:41:51] Like Missy doesn't have a shot

[00:41:52] of even being in consideration.

[00:41:55] I,

[00:41:56] I love you.

[00:41:57] Love you,

[00:41:58] bae.

[00:41:58] Um,

[00:41:58] I could not disagree with you more.

[00:42:00] This was that,

[00:42:01] that Missy was,

[00:42:02] she was in as good of a spot

[00:42:05] as she could have asked for

[00:42:06] to have come back

[00:42:07] and was not even considered,

[00:42:09] let alone voted for.

[00:42:12] I,

[00:42:13] you know what?

[00:42:14] There was no clamor

[00:42:16] at the time.

[00:42:17] No,

[00:42:17] no,

[00:42:17] I didn't get one message.

[00:42:19] Where is Missy

[00:42:20] on the,

[00:42:21] you bring,

[00:42:22] you put 36 people up

[00:42:23] for vote.

[00:42:24] I have like a chance

[00:42:25] and not one,

[00:42:27] not one person said,

[00:42:29] where's,

[00:42:29] where's Muffin?

[00:42:31] I have,

[00:42:31] I have no influence

[00:42:33] at all anymore.

[00:42:35] Back then,

[00:42:35] I had cachet,

[00:42:37] I had clout,

[00:42:38] I had,

[00:42:39] where were you?

[00:42:39] Where were you on this?

[00:42:41] I had Matt,

[00:42:42] I would have said,

[00:42:43] do another second chance,

[00:42:44] get Missy in here,

[00:42:46] bring her back,

[00:42:48] let's go baby.

[00:42:49] Find me the tweet

[00:42:50] that you put out

[00:42:51] or the parade.com article

[00:42:53] you wrote

[00:42:53] about the injustice

[00:42:55] of Missy

[00:42:56] not being brought back.

[00:42:57] Get me the time machine,

[00:42:59] warg me back

[00:43:01] into the 10 year machine

[00:43:03] way back ago,

[00:43:04] I'll change a few things.

[00:43:06] A couple of things

[00:43:07] will go differently

[00:43:09] than,

[00:43:10] than they did

[00:43:11] in the 30s.

[00:43:12] One of them

[00:43:13] will be

[00:43:13] a second chance

[00:43:15] to

[00:43:15] that Missy

[00:43:16] is a part.

[00:43:17] Okay,

[00:43:17] we're good.

[00:43:17] Luckily,

[00:43:18] we have you recorded

[00:43:19] in the real time

[00:43:20] from the voicemails

[00:43:21] of this episode

[00:43:22] and let's see

[00:43:23] if you are saying like,

[00:43:24] you know who's an all-star

[00:43:25] that needs to play again?

[00:43:27] No chance.

[00:43:27] Absolutely no chance

[00:43:28] of saying anything like that.

[00:43:30] Zero possibility.

[00:43:31] Okay.

[00:43:32] All right.

[00:43:33] Let's

[00:43:34] then catch back up

[00:43:35] with where we are.

[00:43:36] Okay.

[00:43:37] Trail mix gate.

[00:43:39] Where is all the trail mix?

[00:43:41] We had a bunch of trail mix

[00:43:42] and where is it?

[00:43:44] Where is all the trail mix gone?

[00:43:45] Where is it?

[00:43:46] It's all gone.

[00:43:47] And they,

[00:43:48] and Julie,

[00:43:50] she's off

[00:43:51] on her own

[00:43:52] and she is a little trail mix

[00:43:54] in her bag.

[00:43:55] I believe in her exit interview

[00:43:57] with me,

[00:43:58] she described it as

[00:44:00] dirty underwear nuts.

[00:44:03] Uh-huh.

[00:44:04] That sounds familiar.

[00:44:06] That sounds very familiar.

[00:44:09] Yeah,

[00:44:10] but you know what?

[00:44:11] These people would have eaten it anyway.

[00:44:13] They wouldn't have cared.

[00:44:14] It's food.

[00:44:15] It's a consumable.

[00:44:17] Right now,

[00:44:18] that's all they care about.

[00:44:19] If people are going to play,

[00:44:21] uh,

[00:44:22] you know,

[00:44:23] idols

[00:44:24] that have also been

[00:44:25] next to nuts,

[00:44:27] like,

[00:44:27] I think that people

[00:44:28] are going to

[00:44:29] eat the nuts

[00:44:30] that are next to underwear.

[00:44:31] Mm-hmm.

[00:44:33] Yeah.

[00:44:34] Yeah.

[00:44:35] So,

[00:44:35] I'm looking at,

[00:44:36] um,

[00:44:36] I just did a search

[00:44:37] for Julie McGee

[00:44:38] dirty underwear nuts.

[00:44:40] Okay.

[00:44:41] Safe for work?

[00:44:42] Do you want to bring

[00:44:43] anything up on the screen?

[00:44:44] It's safe for work.

[00:44:46] Uh,

[00:44:46] yeah.

[00:44:47] So,

[00:44:48] that,

[00:44:48] um,

[00:44:49] Did she talk to me

[00:44:50] about that?

[00:44:50] Let's see.

[00:44:51] Yeah,

[00:44:51] well,

[00:44:51] I think you,

[00:44:52] that we have,

[00:44:53] um,

[00:44:53] from Danielle's notes,

[00:44:55] she,

[00:44:55] uh,

[00:44:56] she cites what's going on.

[00:44:57] Um,

[00:44:58] so,

[00:44:59] she says,

[00:44:59] she tells,

[00:45:00] uh,

[00:45:01] our friend,

[00:45:01] uh,

[00:45:01] Matt Carter,

[00:45:02] uh,

[00:45:03] two days later,

[00:45:04] I was looking to have

[00:45:05] some crumbled up nuts

[00:45:06] in my bag

[00:45:06] that had been carted around

[00:45:08] with my dirty underwear.

[00:45:09] Yeah.

[00:45:10] She said to me,

[00:45:11] this was stuff

[00:45:12] that was sitting

[00:45:13] in my disgusting pockets

[00:45:15] and the bottom of my bag

[00:45:17] with my underwear.

[00:45:19] So,

[00:45:19] yeah,

[00:45:19] Julie McGee,

[00:45:21] uh,

[00:45:22] 10 years ago

[00:45:22] was out here

[00:45:24] on the exit press

[00:45:26] just talking about

[00:45:27] her underwear nuts.

[00:45:28] Yeah,

[00:45:28] for some,

[00:45:29] even more valuable.

[00:45:31] Yeah.

[00:45:33] Okay.

[00:45:34] Yeah.

[00:45:35] So,

[00:45:36] yeah.

[00:45:37] So,

[00:45:37] yeah,

[00:45:37] Danielle Mathis,

[00:45:39] uh,

[00:45:39] who along with

[00:45:40] Josh Green

[00:45:40] has been going back,

[00:45:41] uh,

[00:45:41] that she did a very

[00:45:43] deep dive into

[00:45:44] everything from

[00:45:45] this,

[00:45:46] this episode.

[00:45:47] Maybe like her,

[00:45:48] uh,

[00:45:48] most extensive

[00:45:49] research on this,

[00:45:51] uh,

[00:45:51] talking to

[00:45:52] Julie McGee

[00:45:54] and,

[00:45:55] um,

[00:45:56] you know,

[00:45:56] she,

[00:45:57] that it seemed

[00:45:57] like there was

[00:45:58] like some controversy

[00:45:59] that Julie McGee

[00:46:00] says that she

[00:46:02] didn't know

[00:46:02] John Rocker

[00:46:03] was going to be there

[00:46:04] even though

[00:46:04] other people

[00:46:05] speculated

[00:46:06] that that was the

[00:46:07] case.

[00:46:08] she didn't know

[00:46:09] that John Rocker

[00:46:10] was going to

[00:46:11] be where?

[00:46:12] Yes.

[00:46:13] Um,

[00:46:14] so,

[00:46:17] um,

[00:46:18] let me see.

[00:46:20] Uh,

[00:46:20] and if she left

[00:46:21] that she didn't

[00:46:22] know if John

[00:46:22] was going to be

[00:46:23] there.

[00:46:23] So she's like,

[00:46:24] am I going to

[00:46:24] the jury?

[00:46:25] Am I going to

[00:46:25] the who knows

[00:46:26] what?

[00:46:26] Is that what

[00:46:26] she's saying?

[00:46:27] Mm-hmm.

[00:46:28] Okay.

[00:46:29] Yeah.

[00:46:30] that according

[00:46:30] to my interview

[00:46:31] with,

[00:46:32] uh,

[00:46:32] with,

[00:46:33] so,

[00:46:34] this is,

[00:46:35] uh,

[00:46:37] Dalton Ross

[00:46:37] and Jeff

[00:46:38] did talk about

[00:46:39] the timing of

[00:46:39] the quit

[00:46:39] and,

[00:46:40] uh,

[00:46:40] did she do it

[00:46:41] to go on

[00:46:41] the trip

[00:46:42] with John

[00:46:42] Rocker?

[00:46:43] But Julie

[00:46:43] told Rob

[00:46:44] that wasn't

[00:46:44] the case.

[00:46:45] Um,

[00:46:46] Julie

[00:46:46] also told me

[00:46:48] that Jeff,

[00:46:49] uh,

[00:46:50] said he couldn't

[00:46:50] even guarantee

[00:46:51] that Jeff would,

[00:46:52] that John

[00:46:52] would still

[00:46:53] be there.

[00:46:54] Yeah.

[00:46:57] Hashtag

[00:46:57] trail mix

[00:46:58] scandal

[00:46:58] was the

[00:46:59] in-episode

[00:47:00] hashtag.

[00:47:01] And Julie

[00:47:01] couldn't believe

[00:47:02] she was

[00:47:02] attached to

[00:47:03] a scandal.

[00:47:04] Oh,

[00:47:05] I thought

[00:47:05] that the

[00:47:05] in-episode

[00:47:06] hashtag

[00:47:06] was hashtag

[00:47:07] Hoyopa,

[00:47:08] uh,

[00:47:09] when we

[00:47:09] named the

[00:47:10] merge tribe

[00:47:11] and painted

[00:47:11] the flag.

[00:47:12] They painted

[00:47:13] the flag

[00:47:13] and they,

[00:47:14] uh,

[00:47:14] but this is,

[00:47:15] should we

[00:47:15] put a hashtag

[00:47:15] on it?

[00:47:16] Uh,

[00:47:17] and this

[00:47:18] would,

[00:47:19] uh,

[00:47:20] be a great,

[00:47:21] uh,

[00:47:22] harbinger

[00:47:22] of what's

[00:47:23] to come,

[00:47:23] uh,

[00:47:25] uh,

[00:47:25] in one season

[00:47:26] later when,

[00:47:27] like,

[00:47:28] okay,

[00:47:28] uh,

[00:47:29] you're hashtagging

[00:47:30] your merge

[00:47:30] tribe name,

[00:47:32] hold my

[00:47:32] beer,

[00:47:33] America.

[00:47:34] America,

[00:47:35] that's coming.

[00:47:36] That's,

[00:47:36] that's a different

[00:47:37] merge episode

[00:47:38] that would be

[00:47:38] very interesting.

[00:47:39] 10 years later.

[00:47:40] Yeah,

[00:47:41] that's right.

[00:47:41] That's right.

[00:47:42] Also,

[00:47:43] that,

[00:47:43] uh,

[00:47:43] Julie McGee

[00:47:44] did not get

[00:47:45] to the America

[00:47:45] merge episode

[00:47:46] when we do

[00:47:46] the world's

[00:47:47] apart 10 year

[00:47:47] anniversary series,

[00:47:48] we can then

[00:47:49] see if America

[00:47:51] still exists.

[00:47:52] So that'll be

[00:47:52] a very

[00:47:53] interesting comparison.

[00:47:54] Also,

[00:47:55] Julie McGee

[00:47:55] did not like,

[00:47:56] uh,

[00:47:57] bailer.

[00:47:58] She was driving

[00:47:59] Julie nuts.

[00:48:01] Uh,

[00:48:01] no pun intended.

[00:48:02] Uh,

[00:48:03] is that why she

[00:48:03] quit?

[00:48:04] Underrated reason?

[00:48:05] I don't know.

[00:48:05] she didn't tolerate

[00:48:06] Julie McGee told me

[00:48:07] she irritated

[00:48:08] the ever living

[00:48:10] S H I T

[00:48:11] out of me.

[00:48:15] so she was not

[00:48:17] I can't

[00:48:17] spell,

[00:48:18] so I don't know

[00:48:18] what you said.

[00:48:18] And I can confirm

[00:48:19] that,

[00:48:20] uh,

[00:48:20] when Danielle

[00:48:21] listened to your

[00:48:22] interview with me

[00:48:23] when we talked

[00:48:24] about,

[00:48:24] was it an interview?

[00:48:25] We were talking,

[00:48:26] uh,

[00:48:27] conversation.

[00:48:28] Yeah.

[00:48:28] That,

[00:48:28] uh,

[00:48:29] you also reported

[00:48:30] that,

[00:48:31] uh,

[00:48:32] Julie McGee

[00:48:32] did not like

[00:48:33] Baylor.

[00:48:35] Yeah.

[00:48:35] All right.

[00:48:36] Well,

[00:48:36] what did she tell

[00:48:37] me about Baylor?

[00:48:37] Let's do a little

[00:48:38] search here.

[00:48:40] yeah.

[00:48:41] Okay.

[00:48:42] Uh,

[00:48:42] she says,

[00:48:43] did you notice

[00:48:44] I didn't share

[00:48:45] any of my nuts

[00:48:46] with her?

[00:48:47] She's talking

[00:48:47] about,

[00:48:47] uh,

[00:48:48] Missy.

[00:48:49] Uh,

[00:48:50] she says,

[00:48:50] she and I confided

[00:48:51] in each other

[00:48:52] quite a bit.

[00:48:53] And when it comes

[00:48:53] down to the game

[00:48:54] and playing the game,

[00:48:55] she wanted to make

[00:48:56] sure her ass

[00:48:57] was taken care of

[00:48:58] and her daughter.

[00:48:59] And I didn't like

[00:49:00] her daughter so much.

[00:49:01] And I said,

[00:49:01] you didn't like

[00:49:02] Baylor?

[00:49:03] And she says,

[00:49:04] oh,

[00:49:05] give me a break

[00:49:06] again.

[00:49:06] I guess earlier

[00:49:07] she had already

[00:49:08] said,

[00:49:08] give me a break.

[00:49:09] And then she says,

[00:49:10] wait for this.

[00:49:11] She was just a little

[00:49:12] know-it-all.

[00:49:14] Oh,

[00:49:17] yeah.

[00:49:18] She said,

[00:49:19] I knew from my

[00:49:19] hours and hours

[00:49:20] of discussions

[00:49:21] with Missy

[00:49:22] about her life

[00:49:23] and her children.

[00:49:23] I just knew

[00:49:25] that girl

[00:49:26] was spoiled

[00:49:28] rotten.

[00:49:29] Oh,

[00:49:30] don't call her a brat.

[00:49:31] Yeah.

[00:49:31] She says,

[00:49:32] just the way

[00:49:33] she acted,

[00:49:35] it just made

[00:49:35] my skin crawl.

[00:49:37] Wow.

[00:49:37] She walked

[00:49:38] around like

[00:49:39] she owned

[00:49:40] the place.

[00:49:40] Julie was with

[00:49:41] Baylor for like

[00:49:42] 48 hours.

[00:49:44] She said,

[00:49:44] I said,

[00:49:46] girl,

[00:49:46] you have

[00:49:47] so much

[00:49:48] to learn.

[00:49:50] Wow.

[00:49:51] Julie McGee

[00:49:51] roasting

[00:49:53] Baylor.

[00:49:54] Drag her,

[00:49:55] queen.

[00:49:56] Dragging

[00:49:57] Baylor.

[00:49:58] Woo!

[00:49:59] Yeah.

[00:50:00] My gosh.

[00:50:01] Wow.

[00:50:01] Well,

[00:50:01] I'll tell you what,

[00:50:02] Julie McGee would not

[00:50:05] have been an upvote

[00:50:06] for Missy or

[00:50:07] Baylor on second

[00:50:08] chances.

[00:50:09] No,

[00:50:09] I don't think so.

[00:50:10] Yeah.

[00:50:10] All right.

[00:50:10] So everybody finds

[00:50:12] Julie McGee had the

[00:50:13] trail mix.

[00:50:14] Can you believe this?

[00:50:15] What she was holding

[00:50:15] out on us?

[00:50:16] They go to the

[00:50:17] challenge.

[00:50:17] The first of many

[00:50:19] ball challenges

[00:50:20] that Keith Nail

[00:50:21] is going to win.

[00:50:22] Yes.

[00:50:23] Yeah.

[00:50:23] Keith Nail wins

[00:50:24] the first individual

[00:50:25] immunity.

[00:50:25] I had remembered

[00:50:26] this oddly

[00:50:27] that Josh won

[00:50:28] immunity,

[00:50:28] but I guess

[00:50:29] that wouldn't

[00:50:29] have made the

[00:50:30] tension at the

[00:50:31] end of this

[00:50:31] episode exist.

[00:50:32] So he doesn't,

[00:50:33] but he does well.

[00:50:34] Yeah.

[00:50:35] And then it comes

[00:50:36] down to Keith

[00:50:37] versus Wes.

[00:50:38] If this is still

[00:50:39] Wes's birthday,

[00:50:41] is Keith not

[00:50:43] doing his son

[00:50:44] a good deed

[00:50:46] by,

[00:50:46] like,

[00:50:46] should he have

[00:50:47] let his son

[00:50:47] win on his

[00:50:48] birthday?

[00:50:49] I suspect

[00:50:49] this is not

[00:50:50] his birthday.

[00:50:51] According to

[00:50:51] the Survivor

[00:50:52] Wiki,

[00:50:53] this is day

[00:50:53] 16,

[00:50:55] 17,

[00:50:55] and 18

[00:50:56] of Survivor

[00:50:58] San Juan

[00:50:58] Del Sur.

[00:50:59] Okay.

[00:51:01] So I suspect

[00:51:02] that the birthday

[00:51:03] was probably

[00:51:04] day 17

[00:51:05] and the challenge

[00:51:06] happens day 18.

[00:51:09] Should she,

[00:51:10] should he have

[00:51:11] done it anyway

[00:51:12] as like a belated

[00:51:13] birthday present?

[00:51:14] Like he was already

[00:51:15] late to the birthday

[00:51:15] party.

[00:51:17] Um,

[00:51:17] I will keep

[00:51:18] that crap.

[00:51:20] It's not a reward.

[00:51:21] It's just individual

[00:51:22] immunity.

[00:51:23] Uh,

[00:51:23] so,

[00:51:23] uh,

[00:51:24] individual immunity

[00:51:25] more important.

[00:51:26] Yeah.

[00:51:26] They say that,

[00:51:27] uh,

[00:51:27] Wes's birthday

[00:51:28] was day 17.

[00:51:30] Okay.

[00:51:31] So,

[00:51:32] okay.

[00:51:32] We come back

[00:51:33] from the challenge.

[00:51:34] Keith is one

[00:51:34] individual immunity

[00:51:37] and Alec Christie

[00:51:38] is such a

[00:51:39] crap stirrer.

[00:51:40] You know,

[00:51:41] uh,

[00:51:41] he was mad at

[00:51:42] Baylor about

[00:51:43] that.

[00:51:44] She wasn't working

[00:51:45] hard enough around

[00:51:45] camp.

[00:51:46] He,

[00:51:46] what does he say?

[00:51:47] He just be like,

[00:51:48] uh,

[00:51:48] Hey,

[00:51:48] how about the

[00:51:49] trail mix?

[00:51:51] Yeah.

[00:51:51] He's mad.

[00:51:53] I'm a trail mix

[00:51:54] collector.

[00:51:55] Uh,

[00:51:55] where is it?

[00:51:56] And then we see

[00:51:59] Julie,

[00:51:59] she like runs off

[00:52:00] and Missy tries to

[00:52:02] talk her back up,

[00:52:03] but the damage is done.

[00:52:04] She's like,

[00:52:04] I'm a smart gal.

[00:52:05] I know that she's

[00:52:07] just trying.

[00:52:07] Missy just wants to

[00:52:08] keep me to save her

[00:52:10] numbers.

[00:52:10] And I don't care

[00:52:11] about that.

[00:52:13] I just,

[00:52:13] I,

[00:52:13] I,

[00:52:14] I love this.

[00:52:15] You're feeling,

[00:52:16] I forget exactly what

[00:52:17] it,

[00:52:18] you're feeling burnt

[00:52:18] out.

[00:52:19] You're feeling bad.

[00:52:19] You're feeling toast.

[00:52:21] Uh,

[00:52:21] feeling toast is just

[00:52:23] like a great button

[00:52:24] on that.

[00:52:24] I feel some toast

[00:52:25] sometimes.

[00:52:26] She's trying.

[00:52:27] Do you feel like toast?

[00:52:28] Not right now,

[00:52:29] but I will,

[00:52:30] um,

[00:52:31] you know,

[00:52:32] an hour.

[00:52:32] Yeah.

[00:52:33] Yeah.

[00:52:34] Are we in a sleep?

[00:52:35] Are we in a sleepy

[00:52:35] hour right now?

[00:52:36] No,

[00:52:37] I'm doing okay.

[00:52:37] I'm doing all right.

[00:52:38] I mean,

[00:52:38] if this podcast goes,

[00:52:39] uh,

[00:52:40] you know,

[00:52:40] for,

[00:52:41] you know,

[00:52:42] quite some time longer,

[00:52:43] it could be,

[00:52:44] you know,

[00:52:44] how much more time do we

[00:52:45] got before your toast?

[00:52:46] I'll be,

[00:52:47] I'll be all right for a

[00:52:48] little bit more.

[00:52:48] You know,

[00:52:49] I've been like,

[00:52:50] uh,

[00:52:50] I gotta,

[00:52:50] I usually work in like a

[00:52:52] cup of coffee around like

[00:52:52] three o'clock.

[00:52:53] I think like,

[00:52:54] look,

[00:52:54] I,

[00:52:54] I would say we've got

[00:52:55] 12 minutes of podcasting

[00:52:57] left max.

[00:52:58] I think we have more

[00:52:59] than that.

[00:52:59] I'll take the over on that.

[00:53:00] Yeah.

[00:53:00] All right.

[00:53:01] Let's see.

[00:53:01] All right.

[00:53:01] Speed it up.

[00:53:02] I want to win the bet.

[00:53:02] Okay.

[00:53:03] Well,

[00:53:05] we see Jeremy is,

[00:53:07] uh,

[00:53:07] also,

[00:53:08] uh,

[00:53:08] kind of bummed out also

[00:53:10] that,

[00:53:11] uh,

[00:53:11] Julie,

[00:53:12] we need Julie.

[00:53:13] She can't quit.

[00:53:14] I'm not trying to,

[00:53:17] uh,

[00:53:17] we went on for like 20 minutes

[00:53:19] about Missy's second chances.

[00:53:21] Like,

[00:53:21] uh,

[00:53:22] we can't just like yada yada

[00:53:23] and end the recap.

[00:53:25] I mean,

[00:53:26] you know,

[00:53:26] yada yada.

[00:53:27] She quits.

[00:53:27] Uh,

[00:53:28] but she overhears like the trail mix thing.

[00:53:30] She's so pissed.

[00:53:31] Uh,

[00:53:31] and then she,

[00:53:32] she marches off.

[00:53:33] She's off.

[00:53:34] Yeah.

[00:53:34] It's like,

[00:53:34] no.

[00:53:35] And so Jeremy,

[00:53:37] he wants to shoot at Josh.

[00:53:39] Josh is trying to get everybody going,

[00:53:41] uh,

[00:53:42] at Jeremy.

[00:53:42] We have this like super interesting developing situation going on where like there's a,

[00:53:48] a plan where Jeremy,

[00:53:51] Jeremy and Josh are in the standoff.

[00:53:53] Who's going to win out?

[00:53:55] Hot quiz,

[00:53:56] pop,

[00:53:56] uh,

[00:53:57] pop quiz,

[00:53:57] hot shot.

[00:53:58] Wow.

[00:53:59] They,

[00:54:00] Julie McGee,

[00:54:01] uh,

[00:54:02] she ends up,

[00:54:03] uh,

[00:54:04] shooting herself.

[00:54:06] Yeah.

[00:54:08] Shoot the hostage.

[00:54:09] Yeah.

[00:54:10] She takes herself out and here comes Jeff and Jeff is,

[00:54:14] is a little patronizing here.

[00:54:16] He's like,

[00:54:16] but you know,

[00:54:17] kids go to summer camp or they've gone longer than this.

[00:54:20] What's I love that.

[00:54:21] He's like talking to her,

[00:54:22] like a homesick summer camp kid.

[00:54:24] Like you can't go home yet.

[00:54:26] All right.

[00:54:27] You know,

[00:54:27] like we're not halfway through the summer.

[00:54:28] And I think that Jeff does a pretty good job here of letting Julie McGee,

[00:54:31] like bury herself.

[00:54:32] And she's like,

[00:54:33] and she's like,

[00:54:34] and everybody is like judging me.

[00:54:37] Yeah.

[00:54:37] Um,

[00:54:38] and,

[00:54:39] uh,

[00:54:40] Jeff says,

[00:54:41] how do they judge you?

[00:54:43] And then he says nothing.

[00:54:44] And she proceeds to monologue for like two or three minutes and ultimately get,

[00:54:49] she's all over the place with this.

[00:54:51] Uh,

[00:54:52] the way that the other players are judging her.

[00:54:54] I,

[00:54:55] I think Julia should just look,

[00:54:57] man,

[00:54:57] can I just go?

[00:54:58] Like I'm leaving.

[00:55:00] Can I just go?

[00:55:02] I don't know.

[00:55:03] I want to talk about all this with you.

[00:55:04] I'm off the show.

[00:55:05] I'm done.

[00:55:07] Uh,

[00:55:07] but then she's like,

[00:55:08] yeah,

[00:55:08] I think people judge me because I take care of myself and they make fun of my boobs.

[00:55:13] She says,

[00:55:13] I didn't hear that at all during the show.

[00:55:16] She says it.

[00:55:17] I heard that.

[00:55:18] She said it,

[00:55:19] but I didn't hear anybody discuss her.

[00:55:22] Uh,

[00:55:23] if it's on the editing room floor,

[00:55:24] if it happened,

[00:55:25] I don't think that it happens in universe.

[00:55:28] Didn't make it.

[00:55:29] I don't think that happens on the show.

[00:55:31] Yeah.

[00:55:31] Okay.

[00:55:33] So she leaves and Jeff comes back.

[00:55:35] All right.

[00:55:35] I got some good news and bad news.

[00:55:37] Um,

[00:55:38] you know,

[00:55:38] the,

[00:55:39] the bad news is if you were in an alliance with Julie,

[00:55:44] she's out of the game.

[00:55:46] Yeah.

[00:55:46] That's a great start.

[00:55:52] More bad news.

[00:55:53] If you were hungry for trail mix,

[00:55:55] she took that too.

[00:55:56] Uh,

[00:55:57] that's also gone.

[00:55:58] Yep.

[00:55:58] There's no tribal council tonight.

[00:56:00] Yeah.

[00:56:01] He finds a nice little stump to sit on.

[00:56:03] Cause you know,

[00:56:04] Jeffrey needs a seat.

[00:56:06] Uh,

[00:56:06] and he tells him no tribal.

[00:56:08] And,

[00:56:08] uh,

[00:56:09] both Jeremy and Josh are upset because both of them thought they had this.

[00:56:13] Yep.

[00:56:14] And we see that,

[00:56:16] uh,

[00:56:17] Josh,

[00:56:18] I think has a better read on this.

[00:56:19] Uh,

[00:56:19] no pun intended.

[00:56:20] Uh,

[00:56:21] he says that,

[00:56:22] I think that there was a 20% chance that I could have gone home,

[00:56:25] but I think there was an 80% chance that Jeremy was going home.

[00:56:28] And I think he's right.

[00:56:30] Yes.

[00:56:31] Despite what happens in the next episode.

[00:56:34] This is what happens when you don't vote.

[00:56:37] A lot of things can change.

[00:56:39] Your vote matters.

[00:56:41] Julie McGee.

[00:56:42] Don't just quit.

[00:56:43] Your vote matters.

[00:56:44] Jeremy could have gone home.

[00:56:46] The course of history could have been rewritten.

[00:56:49] Mm.

[00:56:49] Uh,

[00:56:51] you know,

[00:56:51] Jeremy goes home here.

[00:56:53] Josh goes home at some point,

[00:56:56] but gets put on the second chance ballot with Missy.

[00:57:00] Josh comes back.

[00:57:01] Josh wins.

[00:57:02] Second chance.

[00:57:03] Like a lot could change here.

[00:57:05] If Julie McGee just votes.

[00:57:07] Okay.

[00:57:07] Let me give you some notes from the,

[00:57:10] um,

[00:57:11] survivor.

[00:57:12] No,

[00:57:12] it all.

[00:57:13] Okay.

[00:57:13] Right.

[00:57:14] Like,

[00:57:14] like the little,

[00:57:14] like frame and frame.

[00:57:16] Let me just tell you a little bit,

[00:57:17] like,

[00:57:17] uh,

[00:57:18] some hot takes.

[00:57:18] We're dropped on the night of November 5th,

[00:57:22] 2014.

[00:57:22] Okay.

[00:57:23] Let's hear him.

[00:57:24] All right.

[00:57:25] Steven said of Julie's quit.

[00:57:27] I'm not in shock,

[00:57:29] but I'm in outrage.

[00:57:31] I'm outraged.

[00:57:33] Outwit.

[00:57:34] Robin.

[00:57:35] Steven say,

[00:57:36] this is the worst quit ever.

[00:57:38] Worse than nayanka.

[00:57:39] Is this the worst quit ever?

[00:57:42] We were in our feelings.

[00:57:44] Okay.

[00:57:46] I think it was just like the most disappointing quit.

[00:57:49] Ever.

[00:57:50] Because it was like,

[00:57:50] all right,

[00:57:51] this is going to be exciting,

[00:57:52] exciting vote.

[00:57:53] And then it was a little bit of the,

[00:57:56] you know,

[00:57:59] blue,

[00:58:00] uh,

[00:58:01] yeah.

[00:58:02] Yeah.

[00:58:02] Trail mix.

[00:58:03] Yeah.

[00:58:03] Uh,

[00:58:05] sure.

[00:58:06] Yes.

[00:58:07] That being said,

[00:58:08] she didn't,

[00:58:08] she didn't quit because she was on the precipice of like physical violence

[00:58:11] against a fellow cast mate,

[00:58:13] like,

[00:58:13] uh,

[00:58:14] uh,

[00:58:14] another season we stand.

[00:58:15] Uh,

[00:58:16] so,

[00:58:17] you know,

[00:58:17] like it could have been worse.

[00:58:18] Yeah.

[00:58:19] Okay.

[00:58:19] Could have been worse.

[00:58:20] Uh,

[00:58:20] Rob is mad.

[00:58:21] We knew it was coming.

[00:58:22] So how bad could it have really been?

[00:58:24] Uh,

[00:58:25] Rob is mad that Jeff treated Julie with kid gloves.

[00:58:28] He wants spicy Jeff back.

[00:58:30] I remember that.

[00:58:31] I remember you feeling that way.

[00:58:32] Mm-hmm.

[00:58:33] That feels real.

[00:58:34] Yeah.

[00:58:35] That feels like it happened.

[00:58:36] Okay.

[00:58:37] Um,

[00:58:37] Steven,

[00:58:38] yes.

[00:58:39] you'll never guess who gets the fishy Josh.

[00:58:43] Is it Missy?

[00:58:44] No.

[00:58:45] Fishy for Reed.

[00:58:47] Steven says that since nothing really went down,

[00:58:50] let's raise a glass for Reed.

[00:58:52] He's a vital part of the duo and he's getting overlooked.

[00:58:55] Rob said he would have given it to Josh.

[00:58:56] I don't know what Reed did in this episode.

[00:58:59] Does it merit a fishy?

[00:59:00] Nothing.

[00:59:01] I don't think.

[00:59:02] Not really.

[00:59:02] At least nothing like visible.

[00:59:05] Yeah.

[00:59:08] Okay.

[00:59:09] I think if anything,

[00:59:10] give Alec Christie the fishy.

[00:59:12] Cause I feel like his commentary is what pushes Julie over the edge.

[00:59:16] He gets Julie out of the game.

[00:59:18] Mm-hmm.

[00:59:19] All right.

[00:59:20] Um,

[00:59:23] then let's see,

[00:59:24] let's,

[00:59:24] let's go to,

[00:59:25] um,

[00:59:25] okay.

[00:59:26] I did an interview with Parvati about this episode.

[00:59:29] Oh,

[00:59:30] Parvati did pregame interviews before the season and she was at Ponderosa.

[00:59:35] According to Danielle Mathis,

[00:59:37] who went back and listened to my interview with Parvati,

[00:59:39] Parvati and,

[00:59:40] uh,

[00:59:41] Rocker and Julie were the last ones.

[00:59:42] Julie was late cause she was finishing her makeup and,

[00:59:45] uh,

[00:59:45] her friends were concerned how she would do without her blow dryer.

[00:59:49] Oh,

[00:59:50] okay.

[00:59:51] Yeah.

[00:59:53] She said that when Parvati interviewed,

[00:59:55] uh,

[00:59:56] Drew Christie,

[00:59:57] Drew answered everything despite her trying to give questions to Alec.

[01:00:06] And then after the interview,

[01:00:08] Drew Christie allegedly told Parvati,

[01:00:10] after I win,

[01:00:11] you have to give me your number.

[01:00:13] Whoa,

[01:00:14] Drew.

[01:00:16] Mm-hmm.

[01:00:17] And also according to Parvati,

[01:00:19] she claimed that Drew Christie made production hate him.

[01:00:22] So the edit makes even more sense.

[01:00:24] Yeah.

[01:00:25] Yeah.

[01:00:25] I totally believe that actually.

[01:00:27] Yeah.

[01:00:27] That makes a lot of sense to me.

[01:00:29] Mm-hmm.

[01:00:29] Um,

[01:00:30] wow,

[01:00:32] man,

[01:00:32] uh,

[01:00:32] a blood versus water preseason would be very fun.

[01:00:35] Uh,

[01:00:36] would have loved to have done one of those.

[01:00:37] Uh,

[01:00:38] yeah.

[01:00:38] Just to like sit across from the pairs,

[01:00:40] I think is very funny.

[01:00:41] Mm-hmm.

[01:00:42] Makes sense that Drew wouldn't have let Alec speak.

[01:00:47] So much sense.

[01:00:48] Uh,

[01:00:49] okay.

[01:00:50] Uh,

[01:00:50] let,

[01:00:51] let's see.

[01:00:53] Uh,

[01:00:53] then we get into,

[01:00:54] what did we do?

[01:00:55] What did we talk about?

[01:00:56] All right.

[01:00:56] Um,

[01:00:58] then Josh Wiggler,

[01:00:59] stated that as of,

[01:01:00] uh,

[01:01:01] this episode,

[01:01:01] his favorite exit interview has been with Drew.

[01:01:03] He likes how Drew talks and sounds.

[01:01:06] Yes.

[01:01:07] I,

[01:01:07] I feel this way still.

[01:01:08] Okay.

[01:01:09] Josh also said that Daniel quotes you here.

[01:01:12] Okay.

[01:01:13] This is not my favorite season of survivor.

[01:01:16] Yep.

[01:01:16] Okay.

[01:01:17] But I like these people a lot from what I've gotten out of the people I've talked to and looking at those still on the show.

[01:01:24] I like a lot of those people,

[01:01:26] a lot of these people.

[01:01:27] Uh,

[01:01:27] I don't necessarily think that they're great survivor players,

[01:01:29] but I like them.

[01:01:31] I think that was,

[01:01:32] uh,

[01:01:33] uh,

[01:01:34] Josh Wiggler at,

[01:01:35] at,

[01:01:36] 29 years old.

[01:01:37] Wise beyond his years.

[01:01:39] Then Josh Wiggler also said no way this season finishes in the top half of seasons.

[01:01:44] Too many quiet characters.

[01:01:46] Josh and Jeremy are nice strategically,

[01:01:47] but there's too many purple characters.

[01:01:50] However,

[01:01:50] the season does have Keith nail and Josh is very much pulling for Keith.

[01:01:54] Rooting for the person that makes him laugh the most.

[01:01:56] Yeah.

[01:01:57] Uh,

[01:01:57] all of that still tracks,

[01:01:59] except that I think just with the sheer volume of survivor seasons,

[01:02:02] I do think maybe San Juan del Sur ekes out top half.

[01:02:05] Now,

[01:02:05] uh,

[01:02:06] could go a little higher.

[01:02:07] I have thought about,

[01:02:08] because I've still never done,

[01:02:10] uh,

[01:02:11] a survivor season ranking that if I were ever to write another thing about survivor,

[01:02:16] it might be that.

[01:02:17] Uh,

[01:02:18] so it might be a ranking of the seasons.

[01:02:21] Oh,

[01:02:22] okay.

[01:02:22] Yeah.

[01:02:22] So it could be interesting.

[01:02:25] Josh asked if Missy and Rebecca black were in the same car,

[01:02:28] who would sit where?

[01:02:29] Uh,

[01:02:30] yeah,

[01:02:30] I think Rebecca drives and no Missy drives.

[01:02:33] Rebecca black is shotgun.

[01:02:36] Baylor's in the back.

[01:02:37] Okay.

[01:02:38] Final answer.

[01:02:39] And yeah,

[01:02:40] let's see,

[01:02:41] uh,

[01:02:41] for survivor birthdays,

[01:02:42] we were blessed with a wiggler Krista impression and a Rob Wanda impression.

[01:02:46] I guess that this is also Wanda's birthday.

[01:02:48] This is maybe this week.

[01:02:50] Maybe this week.

[01:02:51] Let's do a quick little Google search.

[01:02:54] Wanda shirk.

[01:02:58] Wanda was born in August.

[01:03:01] Hmm.

[01:03:02] Uh,

[01:03:02] maybe it was just impressions.

[01:03:04] Yeah.

[01:03:05] Yeah.

[01:03:05] Okay.

[01:03:06] The scan Wanda,

[01:03:07] sir.

[01:03:07] Wanda off would have been crazy.

[01:03:10] Sure.

[01:03:11] Well,

[01:03:11] you know,

[01:03:11] we had to figure out the survivor 47 Wanda off.

[01:03:14] We've been saying,

[01:03:14] we're going to do one a season.

[01:03:16] And,

[01:03:16] and,

[01:03:17] uh,

[01:03:18] Josh,

[01:03:18] I think that the timing wise,

[01:03:20] I think that if people are in the mood,

[01:03:23] um,

[01:03:24] I,

[01:03:24] I feel like that the week of like leading into,

[01:03:29] uh,

[01:03:29] like November 18th,

[01:03:31] like I think two weeks from now,

[01:03:32] like the week before Thanksgiving,

[01:03:33] I think it's the time to do it.

[01:03:34] Cause the next week is Thanksgiving.

[01:03:36] Whoa.

[01:03:36] The week after that is we're doing the live show.

[01:03:39] So I think it should either be,

[01:03:40] uh,

[01:03:41] we should either fit it in the,

[01:03:43] uh,

[01:03:44] week before Thanksgiving or the week after the live show.

[01:03:47] So that,

[01:03:47] uh,

[01:03:48] do you think it would be better to do it like week 12?

[01:03:52] And then the week after the live show,

[01:03:54] there's probably one episode left.

[01:03:55] There's going to be an episode on December 11th and December 18th.

[01:03:58] So should we do it like,

[01:04:00] uh,

[01:04:00] like a month from now or should we try to do it?

[01:04:02] Yeah,

[01:04:02] I think so.

[01:04:03] Right.

[01:04:04] Like,

[01:04:04] I think like,

[01:04:04] let's do it,

[01:04:05] uh,

[01:04:05] like going straight into the finale.

[01:04:08] Okay.

[01:04:08] Yeah.

[01:04:09] That's a good spot for it.

[01:04:10] Yeah.

[01:04:11] Okay.

[01:04:11] So,

[01:04:12] uh,

[01:04:13] let's plan for the survivor 47 wand off,

[01:04:17] uh,

[01:04:17] around,

[01:04:18] uh,

[01:04:19] the week of December 8th.

[01:04:22] Wow.

[01:04:23] Okay.

[01:04:23] Hot scoop.

[01:04:24] Uh,

[01:04:25] the week of December 8th is going to be the survivor 47 wand off.

[01:04:32] And you heard it here first in Stan Juan del Sur.

[01:04:37] Yeah.

[01:04:37] Rob don't mention this on any of the podcasts.

[01:04:41] For this coming week.

[01:04:44] And let's see if the news still spreads.

[01:04:47] Mm-hmm.

[01:04:48] Like that's one way to test the waters,

[01:04:51] the blood versus waters.

[01:04:53] That's who's out in there.

[01:04:54] Well,

[01:04:54] we'll see.

[01:04:55] We'll see.

[01:04:56] You know,

[01:04:56] the people showed up eventually,

[01:04:58] eventually they just showed up.

[01:04:59] And then also my last thing about,

[01:05:01] uh,

[01:05:02] how's what survivor 47 has in common with survivor San Juan del Sur.

[01:05:07] Rachel got swapped this week.

[01:05:10] Uh,

[01:05:10] and she was in a tough spot.

[01:05:12] I'm going to vote for whoever.

[01:05:15] That's not me to get me out of this very sticky situation.

[01:05:19] Oh,

[01:05:21] feels like you stepped in gum.

[01:05:23] Yeah.

[01:05:24] How about that?

[01:05:24] Rachel.

[01:05:25] Feels like I stepped in gum.

[01:05:44] Yeah.

[01:05:46] I don't know whether I love or loathe that those lyrics are still in my bones.

[01:05:51] Whew.

[01:05:52] Feel like I stepped in gum.

[01:05:55] Yeah.

[01:05:55] Little spoiled brat.

[01:05:58] That's what you were saying.

[01:06:02] Hmm.

[01:06:04] All right.

[01:06:05] Well,

[01:06:05] we've made it past 12 minutes,

[01:06:07] but we're still like,

[01:06:08] I didn't try to like,

[01:06:09] you know,

[01:06:10] I didn't want to give people the pot,

[01:06:11] the listeners,

[01:06:11] the short shrift,

[01:06:12] but I wasn't trying to drag my feet.

[01:06:15] Absolutely.

[01:06:16] Never.

[01:06:16] We would never do such a thing.

[01:06:17] Yeah.

[01:06:18] Okay.

[01:06:19] All right.

[01:06:20] Okay.

[01:06:22] Oh,

[01:06:23] Barack Obama just texted me.

[01:06:24] Yes.

[01:06:25] What'd he say?

[01:06:26] Uh,

[01:06:27] he's reminding me that it's election day and to make a plan to vote.

[01:06:32] I will.

[01:06:34] Amateur hour.

[01:06:35] Come on.

[01:06:35] I hope that he sent this to Julie McKee.

[01:06:37] Wait,

[01:06:38] today's today's election day.

[01:06:39] Did I miss the memo?

[01:06:42] Oh,

[01:06:43] Oh,

[01:06:44] Keith.

[01:06:44] Okay.

[01:06:45] All right.

[01:06:45] Yep.

[01:06:46] We will be back,

[01:06:48] uh,

[01:06:48] to talk about finally,

[01:06:50] uh,

[01:06:50] shots fired in Josh versus Jeremy.

[01:06:55] Yeah,

[01:06:56] I'm excited.

[01:06:56] I'm excited.

[01:06:57] I mean,

[01:06:58] I've had such a good,

[01:06:59] I think the San Juan del Sur pre-merge is very fun and very funny,

[01:07:03] but this is when the game comes online,

[01:07:05] uh,

[01:07:06] cause these two need to go and then Natalie's going to start her stuff.

[01:07:09] Uh,

[01:07:10] and I actually remember this not as well as I remember.

[01:07:13] I don't really remember this,

[01:07:14] uh,

[01:07:14] part so well either.

[01:07:16] I remember like from Natalie on,

[01:07:17] but I feel like that there's going to be,

[01:07:19] you know,

[01:07:19] two back-to-back episodes where Josh is going to go and then Jeremy's going

[01:07:22] to go.

[01:07:23] Yeah.

[01:07:24] So,

[01:07:24] uh,

[01:07:25] I think I like an opportunity for like a lot of like DiCaprio pointing at

[01:07:29] the screen of like,

[01:07:30] Oh yeah.

[01:07:30] Like I think a lot of that's about that.

[01:07:32] Yeah.

[01:07:32] Next episode coming up.

[01:07:34] This is going to be a wrinkle in the plan.

[01:07:37] They call it November 12th,

[01:07:40] 2014.

[01:07:41] Okay.

[01:07:42] Well,

[01:07:42] okay.

[01:07:43] Looking.

[01:07:44] It would be,

[01:07:45] uh,

[01:07:46] one year to the day before my son Anthony was born.

[01:07:50] Wow.

[01:07:53] Cool.

[01:07:54] That's awesome.

[01:07:55] Yeah.

[01:07:55] Yeah.

[01:07:56] And then he's born,

[01:07:57] uh,

[01:07:57] during second chances.

[01:07:59] He's born during second chances.

[01:08:00] And then one year,

[01:08:02] one year to the day for you on a bunch of stuff.

[01:08:04] One year after the day after that is when,

[01:08:07] uh,

[01:08:07] Wentworth does not count happen.

[01:08:09] Uh,

[01:08:09] that will be,

[01:08:10] uh,

[01:08:11] the day.

[01:08:12] I remember I,

[01:08:13] yeah,

[01:08:13] I talked to,

[01:08:14] to,

[01:08:16] Andrew Savage that day.

[01:08:17] And then I talked to Marty Piambo.

[01:08:19] Cause I had like my pick of the litter of like,

[01:08:21] who are we going to get?

[01:08:23] Mr. Farty.

[01:08:23] Yeah.

[01:08:25] And I was like,

[01:08:26] it should be Mr.

[01:08:27] Farty.

[01:08:27] Let's get Mr.

[01:08:28] Farty on the line.

[01:08:29] And it was a little dry.

[01:08:31] A little like the Nicaragua.

[01:08:36] Yeah.

[01:08:37] Climate.

[01:08:38] All right.

[01:08:38] Josh,

[01:08:39] what's coming up for you?

[01:08:40] Oh my gosh.

[01:08:41] Uh,

[01:08:42] lots going on,

[01:08:44] on.

[01:08:44] We know scripted TV.

[01:08:46] Uh,

[01:08:47] we've got,

[01:08:48] uh,

[01:08:48] the return of a couple of shows,

[01:08:50] uh,

[01:08:51] or the return of one show that we are going to be doing,

[01:08:54] uh,

[01:08:54] full court coverage on Mike Bloom and the great grace leader,

[01:08:58] uh,

[01:08:59] are going to be leading the way early scoop on,

[01:09:02] Apple TVs silo,

[01:09:05] uh,

[01:09:05] a great mystery box show,

[01:09:07] uh,

[01:09:08] that demands the kind of attention that you want out of a weekly recap.

[01:09:11] So we're going to give that a whirl.

[01:09:12] We're spending silo season two recaps online,

[01:09:16] uh,

[01:09:16] with a preview dropping this week and the second season premieres next week.

[01:09:22] And maybe not the only Apple TV plus show that starts with an S that we will be talking about on our AJP in the near future.

[01:09:32] So keep an ear out for some of that.

[01:09:35] Speaking of,

[01:09:35] um,

[01:09:36] things that my memory is severed from,

[01:09:38] uh,

[01:09:39] so lots going on.

[01:09:40] We know scripted tv.com.

[01:09:42] All right.

[01:09:43] Thank you so much for joining us.

[01:09:44] We'll be back,

[01:09:45] uh,

[01:09:45] next week,

[01:09:46] uh,

[01:09:47] to talk about the episode.

[01:09:50] Eight of survivor San Juan del Sur.

[01:09:53] This episode several.

[01:09:54] though.

[01:09:55] Yes.

[01:09:56] Julie McGee.

[01:09:57] Eight.

[01:09:57] She did.

[01:09:58] All right.

[01:09:59] Thank you so much.

[01:10:00] Everybody.

[01:10:00] Take care of a good one.
