It's been 10 years since Survivor San Juan Del Sur and Rob Cesternino (@RobCesternino) and Josh Wigler (@roundhoward) are back to talk about it! Rob and Josh will discuss episode 5 of San Juan Del Sur and compare it to the new era of Survivor.[00:00:00] [SPEAKER_06]: It was 10 years ago on a night just like this when episode 5 of Survivor San Juan Del Sur aired and it sounded just like this.
[00:00:14] [SPEAKER_01]: A lot of shocked faces, some emotion. Alec, let's start with you. Your bro's gone.
[00:00:24] [SPEAKER_04]: Where's the bedside manner, Jeff?
[00:00:26] [SPEAKER_04]: Wow. Was that what it was like when I dipped after Island of the Idols? Were you like, my bro's gone?
[00:00:34] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, Rob, let's start with you. Your bro is gone.
[00:00:37] [SPEAKER_04]: Your bro's gone mental. Oh my gosh.
[00:00:41] [SPEAKER_06]: But he's back, Josh Wiggler.
[00:00:44] [SPEAKER_04]: Wow. Oh my gosh. How to follow a ballad like TV?
[00:00:50] [SPEAKER_06]: I just audibly laughed this morning. Alec, your bro's gone. Your bro's gone.
[00:00:59] [SPEAKER_04]: Unbelievable.
[00:01:00] [SPEAKER_04]: I love Jeff's San Juan Del Sur energy. I had a thought about this today watching the episode as well.
[00:01:07] [SPEAKER_04]: I really think from my experiences with Jeff, and I think that anyone who watches the show and knows like Jeff's proclivities would attest to this.
[00:01:17] [SPEAKER_04]: Like he loves it when you're like really psyched about hashing it out, that you're here for the hardship, that you're here to push yourself all the way along.
[00:01:25] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah. And these who not booze, these stupid who not right. Keep asking for for the moon.
[00:01:34] [SPEAKER_04]: Like, you know, if they had there's no world where these guys were getting 18 chicken eggs.
[00:01:40] [SPEAKER_04]: That was never happened for these people.
[00:01:43] [SPEAKER_06]: You know, I think that really if we were going to define Jeff probes, I think that perhaps the best scale to assign Jeff to might be the scale of the tongue.
[00:01:56] [SPEAKER_06]: And I feel like that there is a taste bud. Yes.
[00:02:01] [SPEAKER_06]: A taste bud matrix.
[00:02:03] [SPEAKER_06]: Well, I it is now because I think that we, you know, we get we get spicy Jeff.
[00:02:10] [SPEAKER_06]: We get we get sweet Jeff at times.
[00:02:12] [SPEAKER_06]: But I think here in San Juan Del Sur, I feel like that we have salty Jeff.
[00:02:18] [SPEAKER_04]: So I just Googled the scale of the tongue.
[00:02:22] [SPEAKER_04]: You can get a tongue weight scale from Amazon, which I guess is tongue weight scale.
[00:02:30] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, it I that's there's like this like it's like this little like tongue looking tongue weight scale.
[00:02:39] [SPEAKER_04]: Put your tongue on the way it.
[00:02:42] [SPEAKER_04]: Hmm.
[00:02:42] [SPEAKER_04]: I don't think that there's a really good way to do that.
[00:02:47] [SPEAKER_04]: But yeah, the scales be tipping.
[00:02:50] [SPEAKER_04]: The scales be tipping.
[00:02:53] [SPEAKER_04]: They be tipping.
[00:02:54] [SPEAKER_06]: The scales be tongue in.
[00:02:55] [SPEAKER_04]: The scales of the tongue.
[00:02:57] [SPEAKER_04]: Yes.
[00:02:57] [SPEAKER_04]: But I think you can get bitter, Jeff.
[00:03:00] [SPEAKER_04]: Yes.
[00:03:02] [SPEAKER_04]: My favorite is umami, Jeff.
[00:03:06] [SPEAKER_06]: How has there not been a tribe name?
[00:03:09] [SPEAKER_06]: Umami.
[00:03:10] [SPEAKER_06]: It's common.
[00:03:11] [SPEAKER_06]: It's common.
[00:03:12] [SPEAKER_04]: Missy is umami.
[00:03:14] [SPEAKER_04]: She's not a girl.
[00:03:16] [SPEAKER_04]: She's umami.
[00:03:17] [SPEAKER_04]: And Baylor is her daughter.
[00:03:19] [SPEAKER_06]: Mm hmm.
[00:03:20] [SPEAKER_06]: Yeah.
[00:03:20] [SPEAKER_06]: Yeah.
[00:03:20] [SPEAKER_06]: All right.
[00:03:21] [SPEAKER_06]: Ten years ago tonight, Kelly Wentworth ends up being voted out of Survivor here on.
[00:03:26] [SPEAKER_06]: And if you're just joining us every week, we've been celebrating 10 years of San Juan del Sur.
[00:03:31] [SPEAKER_06]: As it is synced up in the same calendar week, we get episode five of Survivor 47 and episode five of San Juan del Sur.
[00:03:41] [SPEAKER_06]: And 10 years ago on this very day, October 22nd, 2014 was when episode five aired.
[00:03:48] [SPEAKER_06]: And we saw Kelly Wentworth voted out.
[00:03:50] [SPEAKER_06]: And we said, all right, well, we'll probably never see her again.
[00:03:54] [SPEAKER_06]: And that's that.
[00:03:55] [SPEAKER_06]: That's that.
[00:03:55] [SPEAKER_06]: She seemed nice.
[00:03:57] [SPEAKER_06]: Yeah.
[00:03:57] [SPEAKER_06]: That was cool.
[00:03:58] [SPEAKER_06]: Uh, man.
[00:03:59] [SPEAKER_06]: She probably not a survivor legend.
[00:04:01] [SPEAKER_06]: God voted out tonight.
[00:04:02] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.
[00:04:03] [SPEAKER_04]: It was like, oh, well, uh, didn't we just last week go over that?
[00:04:06] [SPEAKER_04]: Like she was the deadliest player in the game and like, okay, she's fifth boot.
[00:04:12] [SPEAKER_04]: Okay.
[00:04:13] [SPEAKER_04]: Uh, seemed great.
[00:04:14] [SPEAKER_04]: Seemed like she would have played well without her dad around.
[00:04:17] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.
[00:04:18] [SPEAKER_04]: Uh, but yes, I don't think anyone is sparing much thought with respect to the incredible Kelly Wentworth, uh, when she goes.
[00:04:27] [SPEAKER_04]: But then she becomes like a fixture of the survivor internet and a great friend to RHAP.
[00:04:36] [SPEAKER_04]: And I wonder if you have memories of like your exit interview with Kelly Wentworth, like your initial, your very first ever conversation with Kelly.
[00:04:46] [SPEAKER_06]: No, you know what?
[00:04:47] [SPEAKER_06]: I honestly, I don't recall too much from it.
[00:04:51] [SPEAKER_06]: And I do have some notes back from, uh, the, uh.
[00:04:55] [SPEAKER_06]: Or San Juan del Sur.
[00:04:56] [SPEAKER_06]: The San Juan del Surrogates, uh, both from, uh, Danielle Mathis and also from, uh, Josh Green who went back and did some incredible work, uh, listening to, uh, the old podcast.
[00:05:08] [SPEAKER_06]: But, uh, no, I'm not, I'm not seeing anything that's particularly notable from my conversation with Kelly.
[00:05:15] [SPEAKER_04]: She would go on to become Miss Survivor, right?
[00:05:21] [SPEAKER_06]: Mm-hmm.
[00:05:22] [SPEAKER_06]: Um, uh, well, I wasn't ready for a question.
[00:05:26] [SPEAKER_06]: I believe that's correct.
[00:05:29] [SPEAKER_06]: Uh, what I, I believe, I, I think Natalie won it.
[00:05:33] [SPEAKER_06]: Uh, but she was like a real campaigner.
[00:05:36] [SPEAKER_04]: She was, yes, yes.
[00:05:50] [SPEAKER_04]: I'm glad that somebody sees something behind the curtain that we don't really get to see on screen.
[00:05:57] [SPEAKER_04]: Because if it's going based purely off of TV, uh, like, I don't think that, like, there's any really reasonable thought that Kelly is going to make it onto the second chance ballot to begin with, let alone secure a spot.
[00:06:12] [SPEAKER_04]: Let alone become the fallen angel of Survivor.
[00:06:15] [SPEAKER_04]: Mm-hmm.
[00:06:16] [SPEAKER_04]: And go on to be one of the most cited Survivors I want to play, like, of, um, the 30s, certainly.
[00:06:23] [SPEAKER_04]: And I don't know what it looks like in the profiles of the new era, but I wouldn't be surprised to see she still comes up.
[00:06:27] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.
[00:06:29] [SPEAKER_06]: Okay.
[00:06:30] [SPEAKER_06]: So, yeah, uh, Kelly has, I mean, you could do a whole podcast about everything that's, uh, going on with Kelly and her rise to power and how she, you know, uh, she campaigned for, uh, Miss Survivor.
[00:06:45] [SPEAKER_06]: And I think that, like, I would say probably more than anything, um, she sort of, like, built an email list of people, like, it just so happened to be a, uh, you know, a good scenario for there to be a vote coming right after that.
[00:07:02] [SPEAKER_04]: Yes.
[00:07:03] [SPEAKER_04]: Um, she, she definitely, she definitely, like, coalesced a base.
[00:07:08] [SPEAKER_04]: Uh, you know, something happens that has got very little to do with the show and a lot to do with, I think, I think that Kelly,
[00:07:14] [SPEAKER_04]: I know we're starting at the end here, but like, I think like the show doesn't give you a ton of Kelly content, even in her final episode.
[00:07:21] [SPEAKER_04]: And I think that's part of this point, uh, that I feel like with, with Kelly specifically, she kind of becomes a really good example since the podcast is really lit at this moment in time.
[00:07:34] [SPEAKER_04]: We've got exit interviews.
[00:07:35] [SPEAKER_04]: We've got like spots for, uh, you know, we've got, we've got spots to like have people come on for voicemails, for recaps, for all of this.
[00:07:43] [SPEAKER_04]: Like Wentworth, I think becomes like a great ambassador of like, well, why didn't they show me more of this person on the show?
[00:07:49] [SPEAKER_04]: And so I think like becomes like a bit of like a survivor internet darling through that.
[00:07:55] [SPEAKER_06]: Yeah.
[00:07:55] [SPEAKER_06]: Also like, I mean, through her own social media, not just only through the podcast, you know, she built a following, uh, coming off of this.
[00:08:02] [SPEAKER_06]: And so I think that, uh, and Kelly's to this day, she's all over Tik TOK and is like very, very good with interacting with the fans.
[00:08:10] [SPEAKER_06]: So I think that she was just like cutting her teeth at this point.
[00:08:13] [SPEAKER_06]: And, uh, this was like a good season for her to be able to have commentary on it.
[00:08:19] [SPEAKER_06]: And it just was very fortuitous that the fan vote is coming up, uh, in, so this is November.
[00:08:25] [SPEAKER_06]: I'm sorry.
[00:08:26] [SPEAKER_06]: This is October of 2014 and they're going to start figuring out that fan vote in the spring
[00:08:31] [SPEAKER_06]: of 2015.
[00:08:32] [SPEAKER_04]: Mm-hmm.
[00:08:32] [SPEAKER_06]: And so it's this, I know the Miss Survivor stuff was in, you know, like February of 2015.
[00:08:39] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.
[00:08:39] [SPEAKER_04]: She, she ends up having like a really, uh, like significant tail, uh, on the other side
[00:08:45] [SPEAKER_04]: of getting knocked out here.
[00:08:46] [SPEAKER_04]: Uh, so it's a, it's a largely happy ending, uh, for not just Kelly, but, uh, all of us
[00:08:53] [SPEAKER_04]: because of everything that she ends up bringing to the table.
[00:08:56] [SPEAKER_04]: Um, and I think like the trajectory of San Juan del Sur itself,
[00:09:01] [SPEAKER_04]: I think, uh, with again, great respect to Kelly, basically like it's fine.
[00:09:08] [SPEAKER_04]: Uh, you know, we lose Kelly now we'll lose Dale next week and that will be even more eventful.
[00:09:13] [SPEAKER_04]: Uh, but like, we're, we're just like going to take a couple of final shots at like,
[00:09:19] [SPEAKER_04]: what does Dale call Missy in this episode?
[00:09:21] [SPEAKER_04]: Do you have that?
[00:09:22] [SPEAKER_06]: Oh, you know, I did.
[00:09:22] [SPEAKER_06]: I have it quoted.
[00:09:24] [SPEAKER_06]: I didn't, I didn't pull, uh, the quote, but you know, Dale, what does he say?
[00:09:29] [SPEAKER_06]: He, uh, what he says is, he says, yes, uh, Dale says she's a self-centered bossy bitch.
[00:09:39] [SPEAKER_06]: Wow.
[00:09:40] [SPEAKER_04]: Wow.
[00:09:41] [SPEAKER_04]: Wow.
[00:09:42] [SPEAKER_04]: So we clean that attitude right up after next episode.
[00:09:47] [SPEAKER_04]: Uh, get that right out of there.
[00:09:52] [SPEAKER_04]: Dale Wentworth.
[00:09:54] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.
[00:09:54] [SPEAKER_04]: Fun episode.
[00:09:55] [SPEAKER_04]: Another, another way, the, the synchronicity between, uh, the decades, uh, these two seasons
[00:10:01] [SPEAKER_04]: across the decades, we get a tribe swap in this one.
[00:10:05] [SPEAKER_04]: Yep.
[00:10:05] [SPEAKER_04]: Uh, we have like a brief tribe flirtation.
[00:10:10] [SPEAKER_06]: Uh, tribe flirtation.
[00:10:11] [SPEAKER_04]: What's that?
[00:10:12] [SPEAKER_04]: Like, it was like, it's like, there's a survivor social where they go to the sanctuary where good
[00:10:16] [SPEAKER_04]: things happen.
[00:10:17] [SPEAKER_04]: Wait, that's survivor 47.
[00:10:18] [SPEAKER_04]: I know.
[00:10:19] [SPEAKER_04]: I know.
[00:10:19] [SPEAKER_04]: That's what I'm saying is like across these two episodes that they synced up decently
[00:10:23] [SPEAKER_04]: well.
[00:10:24] [SPEAKER_06]: Yes.
[00:10:24] [SPEAKER_06]: Okay.
[00:10:24] [SPEAKER_04]: So this is the first time we have the tribes interacting in a certain way.
[00:10:28] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
[00:10:29] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
[00:10:29] [SPEAKER_04]: And then we also are going to have in this week's episode of survivor 47, the attempt,
[00:10:35] [SPEAKER_04]: uh, the successful attempt of getting the eggs here.
[00:10:38] [SPEAKER_04]: We are going to have the to be determined attempt at getting more rice.
[00:10:43] [SPEAKER_04]: Uh, and then I also think that Kelly and Annika's hair looks very similar as they both get voted
[00:10:49] [SPEAKER_04]: out.
[00:10:50] [SPEAKER_04]: They both have like the, like sort of like the buff around and then just like the long
[00:10:53] [SPEAKER_04]: hair coming down.
[00:10:55] [SPEAKER_04]: I don't know.
[00:10:56] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.
[00:10:56] [SPEAKER_04]: Reaching, maybe reaching a little bit on this one.
[00:10:58] [SPEAKER_04]: Some of our other episodes have synced up a little bit better than this.
[00:11:00] [SPEAKER_06]: Okay.
[00:11:01] [SPEAKER_06]: Um, we'll talk about the, uh, San Juan Nils or, uh, any other thoughts on survivor 47?
[00:11:06] [SPEAKER_06]: Uh, not at this present time.
[00:11:08] [SPEAKER_06]: Okay.
[00:11:09] [SPEAKER_04]: Uh, how was the thing though?
[00:11:10] [SPEAKER_04]: How was the stuff?
[00:11:11] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, it was great.
[00:11:11] [SPEAKER_04]: It was great.
[00:11:12] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.
[00:11:13] [SPEAKER_06]: I don't think we had any San Juan del Sur alumni, uh, in the building, unfortunately for us,
[00:11:20] [SPEAKER_06]: but, uh, yeah, very, uh, lively crowd and a very fun show.
[00:11:24] [SPEAKER_06]: If you didn't get a chance to watch it, uh, check it out.
[00:11:27] [SPEAKER_06]: We had a, uh, really, I did, I, I, I think my, our most ambitious, uh, video recording yet
[00:11:33] [SPEAKER_06]: multiple cameras.
[00:11:35] [SPEAKER_06]: So, uh, big, uh, big shout out to, uh, Giovanni, uh, that did our, uh, video.
[00:11:42] [SPEAKER_06]: Yeah.
[00:11:42] [SPEAKER_06]: Yeah.
[00:11:42] [SPEAKER_06]: For the live show.
[00:11:44] [SPEAKER_04]: Um, let's talk a little bit about, uh, can I just also say quickly, like not your last
[00:11:50] [SPEAKER_04]: live show of not just the year, Rob, but the month, uh, yeah.
[00:11:55] [SPEAKER_04]: Got another little live show coming up.
[00:11:57] [SPEAKER_06]: We got another big live show, uh, coming up in, you know, 2014 was such a important pivotal
[00:12:03] [SPEAKER_06]: year.
[00:12:03] [SPEAKER_06]: And of course we're talking about San Juan del Sur now, but also survivor Kageon, uh, and
[00:12:09] [SPEAKER_06]: we could have just as easily, if we thought of this idea, uh, done, uh, a podcast every
[00:12:14] [SPEAKER_06]: single week to match up with the survivor Kageon episode.
[00:12:17] [SPEAKER_04]: Instead, we did something next season instead of worlds apart.
[00:12:20] [SPEAKER_06]: Can we just, it might be funny to do world of heart.
[00:12:24] [SPEAKER_06]: Uh, let's see.
[00:12:25] [SPEAKER_06]: It'd be funny to be honest with you.
[00:12:26] [SPEAKER_06]: Yes.
[00:12:26] [SPEAKER_06]: Okay.
[00:12:26] [SPEAKER_06]: So, uh, what we have been working on all year long, I, you know, this idea started out as
[00:12:31] [SPEAKER_06]: I was like, Oh, could we do like an oral history of survivor Kageon?
[00:12:36] [SPEAKER_06]: And then I started, uh, to get some reach outs from, uh, different people.
[00:12:41] [SPEAKER_06]: Uh, and so I ended up working with the team of Dr. Amanda Rabinowitz, Matt Scott, and Lindsay
[00:12:48] [SPEAKER_06]: Wilson.
[00:12:49] [SPEAKER_06]: And we have brought you, I stan Kageon.
[00:12:54] [SPEAKER_06]: And this is in the style of, I love the nineties.
[00:12:58] [SPEAKER_06]: We have done a series of interviews with survivor Kageon cast members, podcasters,
[00:13:06] [SPEAKER_06]: survivor alumni from other seasons worth playing for.
[00:13:11] [SPEAKER_04]: I think worth playing for, uh, for a feature length Kageon documentary slash retrospective.
[00:13:20] [SPEAKER_04]: Really, really, really super fun.
[00:13:22] [SPEAKER_04]: Uh, if you were a Kageon fan, which I imagine you were, if you're listening to this podcast
[00:13:27] [SPEAKER_04]: specifically, uh, this is can't miss stuff.
[00:13:32] [SPEAKER_04]: Uh, really, really fun stuff.
[00:13:33] [SPEAKER_04]: Some great interviews with a lot of people who we haven't heard from in a minute.
[00:13:38] [SPEAKER_04]: Uh, really loved this and we're going to be showing it in Philadelphia next week at a
[00:13:44] [SPEAKER_04]: live show.
[00:13:45] [SPEAKER_06]: For, for you all out there in the world, uh, you can watch this one week from tonight.
[00:13:52] [SPEAKER_06]: We're going to be premiering this on YouTube, October 29th.
[00:13:55] [SPEAKER_06]: Uh, but we're going to have a very special screening, uh, a little, a little opportunity
[00:14:00] [SPEAKER_06]: to get out there and, uh, meet the community.
[00:14:03] [SPEAKER_06]: And we're going to be in, uh, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, the night of October 28th.
[00:14:08] [SPEAKER_06]: We've got a very, uh, special night planned.
[00:14:11] [SPEAKER_06]: If you, uh, can be there with us in person, I'll be there.
[00:14:14] [SPEAKER_06]: Josh will be there.
[00:14:15] [SPEAKER_06]: I'm coming.
[00:14:15] [SPEAKER_06]: Rob has a website.com slash Kageon screening.
[00:14:18] [SPEAKER_06]: We'll have some Q and a, and it's going to be a very, very fun night.
[00:14:21] [SPEAKER_06]: We'll screen the movie, a movie theater, movie snacks after party to follow.
[00:14:27] [SPEAKER_06]: And so it should be a very, very fun night are available.
[00:14:30] [SPEAKER_06]: Uh, I think it's just like the classic movie snacks.
[00:14:32] [SPEAKER_06]: What would you get?
[00:14:35] [SPEAKER_04]: Who probably going to have to, uh, I'm probably going to have to roll with some sour patch
[00:14:41] [SPEAKER_04]: watermelons in here.
[00:14:42] [SPEAKER_04]: I think if they got them, I'll do anything sour.
[00:14:46] [SPEAKER_04]: I'll get some sour.
[00:14:47] [SPEAKER_04]: Sour.
[00:14:48] [SPEAKER_04]: Just about.
[00:14:49] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.
[00:14:49] [SPEAKER_04]: I'll give it a shot.
[00:14:50] [SPEAKER_04]: Okay.
[00:14:50] [SPEAKER_06]: All right.
[00:14:51] [SPEAKER_06]: Sour is also on the tip of the scale of the tongues.
[00:14:54] [SPEAKER_06]: Yeah, that's right.
[00:14:55] [SPEAKER_06]: Yeah.
[00:14:56] [SPEAKER_07]: Okay.
[00:14:57] [SPEAKER_06]: All right.
[00:14:57] [SPEAKER_06]: And according to Sam Moore, we're going to have a survivor special popcorn and soda
[00:15:02] [SPEAKER_06]: deal.
[00:15:02] [SPEAKER_06]: They had popcorn and soda on survivor 46.
[00:15:05] [SPEAKER_06]: That's true.
[00:15:06] [SPEAKER_06]: Uh, they did have soda this week on 47.
[00:15:08] [SPEAKER_04]: I can promise you this folks, you come to the survivor Kageon screening or you watch
[00:15:13] [SPEAKER_04]: it when we do its world premiere on YouTube on Tuesday night next week.
[00:15:17] [SPEAKER_04]: Uh, you will have a better time at this survivor.
[00:15:21] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.
[00:15:21] [SPEAKER_04]: So, you know, I'm going to have a survivor movie than Sophie Clark did with her survivor
[00:15:24] [SPEAKER_04]: movie experience in survivor South Pacific.
[00:15:26] [SPEAKER_04]: For sure.
[00:15:27] [SPEAKER_04]: For sure.
[00:15:28] [SPEAKER_04]: I'm going to see that.
[00:15:28] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.
[00:15:28] [SPEAKER_04]: For sure.
[00:15:29] [SPEAKER_04]: No doubt.
[00:15:30] [SPEAKER_06]: Okay.
[00:15:30] [SPEAKER_06]: All right.
[00:15:31] [SPEAKER_06]: Uh, so let's talk about this episode of survivor San Juan del Sur.
[00:15:35] [SPEAKER_06]: And of course, uh, that we saw the Drew Christie boot was in the last episode.
[00:15:40] [SPEAKER_06]: Keith Nail says it was a gnarly tribal council.
[00:15:43] [SPEAKER_06]: Gnarly.
[00:15:44] [SPEAKER_06]: Yeah.
[00:15:45] [SPEAKER_04]: Was it gnarly?
[00:15:46] [SPEAKER_04]: You think?
[00:15:47] [SPEAKER_06]: Well, the, the whole thing with Jeremy about the sub alliance.
[00:15:51] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.
[00:15:51] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.
[00:15:51] [SPEAKER_04]: I would say gnarly, but like, like if it's sort of like gnarly, bro, uh, like I don't
[00:15:56] [SPEAKER_04]: think it was that.
[00:15:57] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.
[00:15:57] [SPEAKER_04]: He uses gnarly as a negative.
[00:15:59] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.
[00:15:59] [SPEAKER_04]: As a bad gnarly.
[00:16:01] [SPEAKER_06]: Mm hmm.
[00:16:02] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.
[00:16:02] [SPEAKER_04]: Naughty gnarly.
[00:16:03] [SPEAKER_04]: Uh, and then John Mish is like, Oh, I'm in trubs.
[00:16:08] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.
[00:16:08] [SPEAKER_05]: Uh, and he's trying to just like, he's like, Oh, drew drew said if it like, uh, he said
[00:16:14] [SPEAKER_05]: you're either with me or against me.
[00:16:16] [SPEAKER_05]: And then, and then, and then he voted.
[00:16:17] [SPEAKER_05]: And then he said that I had to vote with him.
[00:16:20] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.
[00:16:20] [SPEAKER_04]: He said, count on it.
[00:16:22] [SPEAKER_04]: And like, he like to be, to be very fair to John Mish, he like completely replicates
[00:16:28] [SPEAKER_04]: how that conversation went.
[00:16:29] [SPEAKER_04]: Uh, so like, uh, John Mish in this moment being a very honest guy, I think of like,
[00:16:35] [SPEAKER_06]: yeah, I think he is a pretty honest guy.
[00:16:37] [SPEAKER_06]: Like, I don't think that he's like a dishonest, uh, player.
[00:16:41] [SPEAKER_04]: I, you know what?
[00:16:43] [SPEAKER_04]: I love this season.
[00:16:44] [SPEAKER_04]: I really do.
[00:16:45] [SPEAKER_04]: Uh, like I adored this season and like for all of the obvious San Juan del Sur reasons
[00:16:50] [SPEAKER_04]: that when you haven't watched in a while, you think about Keith and Natalie and Jeremy
[00:16:54] [SPEAKER_04]: and stuff, but like all of the people who like either haven't gone on to come
[00:16:59] [SPEAKER_04]: back or we haven't heard from in a long time, like everybody contributes to making this
[00:17:05] [SPEAKER_04]: a really good vibes season of Survivor.
[00:17:09] [SPEAKER_04]: I think put John Mish right on that list.
[00:17:11] [SPEAKER_04]: I love, I love John Mish's energy.
[00:17:14] [SPEAKER_04]: Uh, John Mish's energy is a great component here in San Juan del Sur.
[00:17:17] [SPEAKER_04]: And I think his, his story seems to really activate in this episode.
[00:17:21] [SPEAKER_04]: He's going to be with us for a bit, driving a lot of stuff.
[00:17:24] [SPEAKER_07]: Mm-hmm.
[00:17:25] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.
[00:17:26] [SPEAKER_04]: Okay.
[00:17:27] [SPEAKER_04]: Um, tries to tell Jeremy's like, Hey, about that.
[00:17:30] [SPEAKER_06]: Yeah.
[00:17:30] [SPEAKER_06]: And Jerry's like, Oh my God.
[00:17:33] [SPEAKER_06]: I don't need you.
[00:17:35] [SPEAKER_08]: Yeah.
[00:17:35] [SPEAKER_06]: He's like, John, he's on an apology tour.
[00:17:39] [SPEAKER_06]: Yeah.
[00:17:39] [SPEAKER_06]: I'm not falling for it.
[00:17:41] [SPEAKER_06]: Yeah.
[00:17:42] [SPEAKER_04]: He's exactly where he wants to be.
[00:17:43] [SPEAKER_04]: Jeremy.
[00:17:43] [SPEAKER_04]: Jeremy.
[00:17:44] [SPEAKER_04]: Uh, don't you love those confessionals when they show up and it's like, uh, they, they
[00:17:49] [SPEAKER_04]: have to know, like switch is coming tomorrow.
[00:17:52] [SPEAKER_04]: Right.
[00:17:52] [SPEAKER_04]: You know, like, uh, I, I just like, do you ever think that the people who give like the
[00:17:58] [SPEAKER_04]: real, like confessionals, like the hubris laden confessionals know that they're giving
[00:18:03] [SPEAKER_04]: a hubris laden confessional?
[00:18:05] [SPEAKER_06]: Yeah.
[00:18:05] [SPEAKER_06]: I kind of feel like that you don't do that.
[00:18:07] [SPEAKER_06]: Cause it's like, you're only going to show this if it doesn't work.
[00:18:12] [SPEAKER_06]: Like, I'm sure like a lot of people have said things that are like that and then it works
[00:18:15] [SPEAKER_06]: out and they just don't show it.
[00:18:16] [SPEAKER_06]: Cause it's like, how does that work?
[00:18:18] [SPEAKER_04]: Like, what does the producer say to you?
[00:18:19] [SPEAKER_04]: Like, all right.
[00:18:20] [SPEAKER_04]: Now, can you give me a version of that?
[00:18:21] [SPEAKER_04]: That's extremely egotistical just in case like, this isn't going to work out for you
[00:18:25] [SPEAKER_04]: so we can ruin you on TV.
[00:18:27] [SPEAKER_06]: Yeah.
[00:18:28] [SPEAKER_04]: Sure.
[00:18:28] [SPEAKER_04]: You know?
[00:18:30] [SPEAKER_04]: But yeah.
[00:18:30] [SPEAKER_04]: Jeremy is just, uh, uh, it's the middle of the night drunk with power.
[00:18:33] [SPEAKER_04]: Drew Christie is gone and everybody can finally sleep.
[00:18:36] [SPEAKER_06]: Yep.
[00:18:37] [SPEAKER_06]: All right.
[00:18:37] [SPEAKER_06]: Let's go to hero arena.
[00:18:39] [SPEAKER_06]: And so they call it the walk of shame.
[00:18:42] [SPEAKER_06]: Coyopa.
[00:18:43] [SPEAKER_06]: We haven't heard about the walk of shame.
[00:18:44] [SPEAKER_06]: I think probably since, uh, a different, uh, blonde Kelly back in survivor Africa, uh,
[00:18:51] [SPEAKER_06]: did, uh, that had the walk of shame T or the shameless t-shirt after they talked about
[00:18:56] [SPEAKER_06]: Lex said she did the walk of shame, but she got voted out.
[00:19:00] [SPEAKER_06]: So, so, but the walk of shame here is that, okay, let's bring in the tribe that voted somebody
[00:19:06] [SPEAKER_06]: out last night.
[00:19:07] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.
[00:19:08] [SPEAKER_04]: Uh, so, uh, Alec gives like a confessional leading into this too, where like, this is
[00:19:14] [SPEAKER_04]: another one where like, was this, was this days ago or the producers being like, so Alec,
[00:19:21] [SPEAKER_04]: when you get there later today, you want to go up against Drew?
[00:19:23] [SPEAKER_04]: Are they just like priming the pump, getting him ready for like a little bit of a-
[00:19:28] [SPEAKER_04]: He's ready.
[00:19:28] [SPEAKER_06]: He hasn't had the chance.
[00:19:29] [SPEAKER_06]: And Drew's hit him upside the head a couple of times.
[00:19:32] [SPEAKER_04]: And so he's ready.
[00:19:33] [SPEAKER_04]: He's ready to go, but then he doesn't see him.
[00:19:35] [SPEAKER_04]: And, uh, he realized he's been voted out and Alec, uh, Jeff Probst has some words for you.
[00:19:41] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.
[00:19:41] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.
[00:19:41] [SPEAKER_01]: I mean, he's very upset when to hear this.
[00:19:44] [SPEAKER_01]: A lot of shocked faces, some emotion.
[00:19:47] [SPEAKER_01]: Alec, let's start with you.
[00:19:49] [SPEAKER_01]: Your bro's gone.
[00:19:50] [SPEAKER_06]: Your bro's gone.
[00:19:51] [SPEAKER_06]: Uh, and he's like, whoa.
[00:19:53] [SPEAKER_06]: And you know, there's a lot of shocked faces from Coyopa and they're like, yeah, we thought
[00:19:58] [SPEAKER_06]: he was, we thought he was good.
[00:20:00] [SPEAKER_06]: We thought he wasn't.
[00:20:01] [SPEAKER_06]: And like Kelly was like, yeah.
[00:20:04] [SPEAKER_04]: Um, but yeah, a little bit of the hubris from Wentworth in this episode.
[00:20:07] [SPEAKER_06]: Alec's world is shattered here because he's like, he's like, well, they must've voted
[00:20:12] [SPEAKER_06]: him out because he must've been such a big threat.
[00:20:15] [SPEAKER_06]: I mean, there's no other reason why they would vote him out.
[00:20:17] [SPEAKER_06]: Right.
[00:20:18] [SPEAKER_06]: Right.
[00:20:20] [SPEAKER_07]: Right.
[00:20:20] [SPEAKER_06]: Like the guy that you have on the, like the ultimate pedestal of being the ultimate competitor
[00:20:24] [SPEAKER_06]: that you're going to knock off is a knock from his pedestal one day.
[00:20:30] [SPEAKER_06]: Like actually was like kind of a, let's see.
[00:20:35] [SPEAKER_06]: I love these.
[00:20:36] [SPEAKER_06]: Can I, maybe in 2024, I'll pick my words carefully.
[00:20:39] [SPEAKER_06]: Okay.
[00:20:40] [SPEAKER_06]: Kind of a knucklehead.
[00:20:41] [SPEAKER_04]: Let's call him a knucklehead.
[00:20:42] [SPEAKER_06]: Yeah.
[00:20:43] [SPEAKER_06]: Or even a chucklehead.
[00:20:44] [SPEAKER_04]: He's a chucklehead too.
[00:20:45] [SPEAKER_06]: Yeah.
[00:20:46] [SPEAKER_06]: No chuckle.
[00:20:47] [SPEAKER_06]: And this was the guy that is like the, the, the pantheon of manliness that you could never
[00:20:54] [SPEAKER_06]: knock.
[00:20:55] [SPEAKER_06]: This is your king.
[00:20:56] [SPEAKER_06]: This is who you lay with, you know?
[00:20:58] [SPEAKER_06]: Uh, and to find out that, wait, he wasn't a huge threat to you guys.
[00:21:05] [SPEAKER_06]: You voted him off.
[00:21:06] [SPEAKER_04]: Cause he, wait, he threw the challenge and Alec, Alec is like queen Amidala.
[00:21:12] [SPEAKER_04]: And the entire Hunapu tribe is Anakin in that meme of like, you voted drew out because
[00:21:18] [SPEAKER_04]: he was the biggest threat on your tribe.
[00:21:20] [SPEAKER_04]: Right.
[00:21:21] [SPEAKER_04]: And then we just like cut to, don't know about that.
[00:21:29] [SPEAKER_05]: I don't know.
[00:21:29] [SPEAKER_05]: Sand is coarse.
[00:21:30] [SPEAKER_05]: I don't like that.
[00:21:31] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.
[00:21:32] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.
[00:21:32] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.
[00:21:32] [SPEAKER_04]: So this is the first time that we're not going to do a heroes challenge because we're
[00:21:37] [SPEAKER_04]: going to shake it up.
[00:21:39] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.
[00:21:39] [SPEAKER_04]: But they have one set up.
[00:21:41] [SPEAKER_04]: They do have one set up.
[00:21:42] [SPEAKER_04]: Is that the same thing that ends up getting done in the next episode?
[00:21:46] [SPEAKER_04]: I don't know.
[00:21:47] [SPEAKER_04]: It's like a little sneak peek.
[00:21:49] [SPEAKER_04]: A little sneak peek.
[00:21:49] [SPEAKER_04]: Okay.
[00:21:50] [SPEAKER_04]: Does that only get set up?
[00:21:52] [SPEAKER_04]: Like do like Kierhofer and the rest of the team, do they have to like, uh, like come
[00:21:57] [SPEAKER_04]: up with like a dummy challenge to like create the visual that's going to throw everybody
[00:22:03] [SPEAKER_04]: off when Jeff says, drop your buffs.
[00:22:05] [SPEAKER_06]: Sometimes I think they'll have like some, like just random junk, like set up for the tribe
[00:22:10] [SPEAKER_06]: swap.
[00:22:10] [SPEAKER_06]: And then it's doesn't end up being relevant, but well, let's keep an eye on that in episode
[00:22:15] [SPEAKER_06]: six.
[00:22:15] [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
[00:22:16] [SPEAKER_04]: So I, I've since caught up, obviously I've seen everything from the new era,
[00:22:20] [SPEAKER_04]: but I watch it so fast that like it all blurs together for me and I've lost details already
[00:22:24] [SPEAKER_04]: weeks out from having watched it.
[00:22:26] [SPEAKER_04]: So you who has been in the trenches week in and week out for years now, when was our last
[00:22:31] [SPEAKER_04]: tribe swap?
[00:22:32] [SPEAKER_06]: Survivor 45.
[00:22:32] [SPEAKER_06]: Okay.
[00:23:02] [SPEAKER_04]: I liked the survivor social.
[00:23:04] [SPEAKER_04]: That was cute.
[00:23:06] [SPEAKER_06]: Yeah.
[00:23:06] [SPEAKER_06]: I believe actually survivor 45, it's survivor 45 and survivor 35, I believe is the only
[00:23:12] [SPEAKER_06]: two times that they ever did a tribe swap.
[00:23:15] [SPEAKER_06]: That was three tribes swapping to three different tribes, three, like mixed it up.
[00:23:19] [SPEAKER_06]: They didn't go from three to two.
[00:23:20] [SPEAKER_06]: Every 10 seasons.
[00:23:21] [SPEAKER_06]: They said, we're going to do that.
[00:23:23] [SPEAKER_06]: Okay.
[00:23:24] [SPEAKER_06]: Keep an eye out for 55.
[00:23:26] [SPEAKER_06]: Keep an eye out for 55.
[00:23:28] [SPEAKER_06]: All right.
[00:23:29] [SPEAKER_06]: So, all right.
[00:23:30] [SPEAKER_06]: Your bro's gone.
[00:23:31] [SPEAKER_06]: We got new tribes.
[00:23:33] [SPEAKER_06]: Here we go.
[00:23:33] [SPEAKER_06]: And it's interesting, this tribe swap, because we end up with a tribe of all couples, of all
[00:23:40] [SPEAKER_06]: pairs.
[00:23:40] [SPEAKER_06]: The new Hunapu is-
[00:23:43] [SPEAKER_04]: A tribe of au pairs?
[00:23:45] [SPEAKER_04]: All pairs.
[00:23:45] [SPEAKER_04]: So it's like all the loved ones' babysitters?
[00:23:48] [SPEAKER_06]: I mean, I don't know if anybody's a baby.
[00:23:50] [SPEAKER_06]: Maybe Missy, I mean, she's there with her kids, so she doesn't need an au pair.
[00:23:54] [SPEAKER_06]: She's kind of au pairing Baylor.
[00:23:56] [SPEAKER_06]: Yeah, the parents are there with their kids.
[00:23:58] [SPEAKER_06]: Yeah.
[00:23:58] [SPEAKER_06]: So, Dale and Kelly are there.
[00:24:01] [SPEAKER_06]: Missy and Baylor are there.
[00:24:02] [SPEAKER_06]: John and Jacqueline are there.
[00:24:04] [SPEAKER_06]: They actually need an au pair, because 10 years later, John and Jacqueline are parents.
[00:24:09] [SPEAKER_03]: Hey, congratulations.
[00:24:10] [SPEAKER_04]: Congratulations.
[00:24:10] [SPEAKER_06]: They're now parents, too.
[00:24:12] [SPEAKER_06]: Amazing.
[00:24:13] [SPEAKER_06]: Amazing.
[00:24:13] [SPEAKER_04]: When's the last we've heard from John and Jacqueline?
[00:24:15] [SPEAKER_06]: Not often.
[00:24:16] [SPEAKER_06]: I just looked up Jacqueline's Instagram, and I saw that they have a baby that looks like
[00:24:23] [SPEAKER_06]: about two years old.
[00:24:25] [SPEAKER_04]: Let's get John and Jacqueline on the pod.
[00:24:28] [SPEAKER_04]: Sure.
[00:24:28] [SPEAKER_04]: Can we get John and Jacqueline on the pod?
[00:24:30] [SPEAKER_04]: Yes.
[00:24:30] [SPEAKER_04]: Okay.
[00:24:31] [SPEAKER_04]: Love to hear from them.
[00:24:32] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.
[00:24:33] [SPEAKER_04]: That's so great.
[00:24:33] [SPEAKER_04]: I love that.
[00:24:34] [SPEAKER_04]: I know we're several episodes away from kind of illuminating their struggles with all of
[00:24:38] [SPEAKER_04]: that.
[00:24:40] [SPEAKER_04]: But I'm so happy for them.
[00:24:41] [SPEAKER_04]: That's so great.
[00:24:41] [SPEAKER_04]: I didn't know that.
[00:24:42] [SPEAKER_06]: And then Keith Nail, who's another parent on the season, he is separated from Wes.
[00:24:46] [SPEAKER_06]: So it's the three pairs, and then Keith.
[00:24:50] [SPEAKER_06]: And then over on Hunapu, we have Jeremy and Natalie are together, but they're along with
[00:24:58] [SPEAKER_06]: Josh and Reed reunited.
[00:25:01] [SPEAKER_06]: Yep.
[00:25:01] [SPEAKER_06]: And then also Alec, Julie, and Wes.
[00:25:06] [SPEAKER_04]: So it's the singles plus one couple, then the couples plus one single.
[00:25:12] [SPEAKER_04]: And this ends up being, I think, like, you know, it likely would have, like, drifted towards
[00:25:18] [SPEAKER_04]: some version of the merge that we get anyway, I would expect.
[00:25:22] [SPEAKER_04]: But I think that this is, like, a real accelerant.
[00:25:24] [SPEAKER_04]: Like, at this point, like, it's an interesting episode because up to this point, you got the
[00:25:29] [SPEAKER_04]: sense that, like, Kelly and Missy were, you know, they were on the same page with the last
[00:25:33] [SPEAKER_04]: vote, all of this stuff.
[00:25:34] [SPEAKER_04]: But, like, this swap, I do think, like, really seems to kill those original tribal dynamics.
[00:25:42] [SPEAKER_06]: Old Hunapu is DOA once we end up with some of the issues that are going on at Coyopa.
[00:25:50] [SPEAKER_06]: And it's a, you know, particularly bad swap for Kelly.
[00:25:53] [SPEAKER_06]: We'll talk that through.
[00:25:56] [SPEAKER_06]: So we see first, though, at Hunapu that there is this, you know, underlying story of we find
[00:26:03] [SPEAKER_06]: out here in episode five that the Hunapu tribe just went ham on the right.
[00:26:12] [SPEAKER_06]: This is through the first, like, whatever 12 days of the game.
[00:26:16] [SPEAKER_06]: They ate so much rice.
[00:26:19] [SPEAKER_06]: They went crazy.
[00:26:21] [SPEAKER_06]: They just had huge portions.
[00:26:24] [SPEAKER_06]: All you can eat is like the Olive Garden.
[00:26:26] [SPEAKER_06]: It was never ending rice bowls.
[00:26:28] [SPEAKER_06]: At Hunapu.
[00:26:29] [SPEAKER_06]: Coyopa really tried to ration the rice.
[00:26:34] [SPEAKER_04]: These idiots.
[00:26:35] [SPEAKER_04]: These morons.
[00:26:36] [SPEAKER_04]: But who am I talking about?
[00:26:38] [SPEAKER_04]: The ones that conserved the rice or the ones who ate all the rice?
[00:26:43] [SPEAKER_04]: I think the morons are the ones that conserved it.
[00:26:45] [SPEAKER_04]: You know, this was such a hot topic at the time, I remember.
[00:26:50] [SPEAKER_04]: And, like, sort of this idea of, like, well, what do you do?
[00:26:52] [SPEAKER_04]: Did Hunapu just prove, like, just, like, go to ricetown?
[00:26:57] [SPEAKER_04]: Just, like, dump the rice Jatia style except into your mouth?
[00:27:02] [SPEAKER_04]: Like, is this the move?
[00:27:04] [SPEAKER_04]: Is this what you should do?
[00:27:07] [SPEAKER_04]: Now this isn't even really a question because we're not getting, like, starting food.
[00:27:11] [SPEAKER_06]: Well, I think that the players all sort of, like, figured out they adopted the Hunapu strategy of, like, hey, smoke them if you got them.
[00:27:20] [SPEAKER_06]: You got rice?
[00:27:21] [SPEAKER_05]: Eat it.
[00:27:22] [SPEAKER_06]: Yeah.
[00:27:23] [SPEAKER_05]: Yeah.
[00:27:23] [SPEAKER_05]: If you got chickens, eat them too.
[00:27:25] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.
[00:27:26] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.
[00:27:26] [SPEAKER_04]: Unless you're very concerned about the mechanics of butchering the chicken and, like, having blood all over your hands and all of the stuff that Annika got into with you.
[00:27:37] [SPEAKER_04]: So, you know, maybe in that case.
[00:27:39] [SPEAKER_06]: I didn't even know you listened to those exit interviews.
[00:27:41] [SPEAKER_04]: I watched the video.
[00:27:42] [SPEAKER_04]: I had a good time watching it.
[00:27:43] [SPEAKER_06]: Did you notice me in my brother's bedroom?
[00:27:47] [SPEAKER_06]: Yeah.
[00:27:47] [SPEAKER_06]: I thought that that was Danny's room.
[00:27:49] [SPEAKER_06]: My brother's childhood bedroom?
[00:27:51] [SPEAKER_06]: He had a good room.
[00:27:52] [SPEAKER_06]: I was going to blur the background.
[00:27:54] [SPEAKER_06]: I said, you know what?
[00:27:54] [SPEAKER_06]: Let's let's.
[00:27:55] [SPEAKER_06]: No, it looked good.
[00:27:56] [SPEAKER_06]: Yeah.
[00:27:57] [SPEAKER_06]: It looked podcast ready.
[00:27:58] [SPEAKER_04]: Nothing, like, too embarrassing or humiliating on the wall.
[00:28:03] [SPEAKER_04]: Well, we'll certainly go back and look now and double check that.
[00:28:07] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.
[00:28:08] [SPEAKER_04]: What was your childhood bedroom like?
[00:28:09] [SPEAKER_04]: Has that appeared on podcasts before?
[00:28:12] [SPEAKER_04]: Well, my childhood.
[00:28:13] [SPEAKER_04]: You protect that room.
[00:28:14] [SPEAKER_06]: No, my childhood, childhood bedroom.
[00:28:17] [SPEAKER_06]: I do not have access to because that my parents moved when I was in.
[00:28:23] [SPEAKER_06]: Got it.
[00:28:23] [SPEAKER_06]: So, my parents moved when I was going to be in.
[00:28:28] [SPEAKER_06]: I was, what, like 13, 14 years old?
[00:28:32] [SPEAKER_06]: And so, and then I had a couple different rooms at my parents' house.
[00:28:36] [SPEAKER_04]: Got it.
[00:28:36] [SPEAKER_04]: Got it.
[00:28:36] [SPEAKER_04]: Got it.
[00:28:37] [SPEAKER_04]: So, you were nomadic.
[00:28:39] [SPEAKER_04]: Nomadic.
[00:28:39] [SPEAKER_04]: You were like, you were getting tribe swapped.
[00:28:42] [SPEAKER_04]: You were getting.
[00:28:42] [SPEAKER_04]: I got tribe swapped.
[00:28:43] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.
[00:28:43] [SPEAKER_04]: You had no, you had no room loyalty.
[00:28:45] [SPEAKER_04]: You were a free agent.
[00:28:46] [SPEAKER_06]: Mm-hmm.
[00:28:47] [SPEAKER_06]: Room merge.
[00:28:47] [SPEAKER_06]: Yep.
[00:28:48] [SPEAKER_06]: Yep.
[00:28:48] [SPEAKER_06]: So, unfortunately, we no longer own the house of my childhood bedroom.
[00:28:54] [SPEAKER_04]: That's all right.
[00:28:55] [SPEAKER_04]: It's okay.
[00:28:56] [SPEAKER_06]: This is the same story many of us have.
[00:28:59] [SPEAKER_06]: But let's talk about the rice.
[00:29:01] [SPEAKER_06]: Okay.
[00:29:02] [SPEAKER_06]: So, they were eating.
[00:29:03] [SPEAKER_06]: Turned out to be rice.
[00:29:03] [SPEAKER_06]: Turned out to be rice.
[00:29:04] [SPEAKER_06]: They were eating all the rice.
[00:29:06] [SPEAKER_06]: And now, we find out that Coyopa was really rationing it.
[00:29:12] [SPEAKER_06]: So, when Jeremy, I'm sorry, when like the rest of the people from Jeremy was there at Hunapu.
[00:29:19] [SPEAKER_06]: But when the likes of like Josh and Alec and Wes shoved up, they go, hey, where's all the rice?
[00:29:25] [SPEAKER_06]: Where's the rice?
[00:29:26] [SPEAKER_06]: Where's all the rice?
[00:29:27] [SPEAKER_06]: Like, yeah, we ate it all.
[00:29:29] [SPEAKER_06]: We ate the whole thing.
[00:29:32] [SPEAKER_06]: Every last grain.
[00:29:34] [SPEAKER_06]: They have like two coconut shells left of rice.
[00:29:39] [SPEAKER_06]: So, it's a little bit of a disappointment there.
[00:29:42] [SPEAKER_06]: Meanwhile, we get over on Coyopa.
[00:29:46] [SPEAKER_06]: John is like, we have rice.
[00:29:48] [SPEAKER_06]: He's like jumping up and down.
[00:29:50] [SPEAKER_06]: He's excited.
[00:29:51] [SPEAKER_06]: This is the best day of John's life.
[00:29:53] [SPEAKER_06]: Yeah, because he just gets to keep eating.
[00:29:55] [SPEAKER_06]: A baby.
[00:29:56] [SPEAKER_04]: Yes.
[00:29:56] [SPEAKER_04]: Do you think that this helps with, you know, John's going to make it.
[00:30:02] [SPEAKER_04]: He ends up having like he benefits quite well, of course, from this swap.
[00:30:06] [SPEAKER_04]: He's going to be with Jacqueline again.
[00:30:08] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.
[00:30:09] [SPEAKER_04]: He's going to he's going to last real deep into the game.
[00:30:11] [SPEAKER_04]: He was on the bottom.
[00:30:12] [SPEAKER_04]: He went from like the he went to the tribe.
[00:30:15] [SPEAKER_04]: He's the great beneficiary of John.
[00:30:16] [SPEAKER_04]: With all the rice.
[00:30:18] [SPEAKER_04]: Yes.
[00:30:18] [SPEAKER_04]: Yes.
[00:30:19] [SPEAKER_04]: This is a game changer for John Mish.
[00:30:20] [SPEAKER_04]: My question is like because he was just plowing rice back at Hunapu.
[00:30:27] [SPEAKER_04]: And now he here he is at Coyopa just being able to like fiend on this stuff.
[00:30:32] [SPEAKER_04]: Just like how is it?
[00:30:33] [SPEAKER_04]: But is he just like is he just like the most fueled survivor player there's ever been at this stage of the game?
[00:30:43] [SPEAKER_04]: Could be.
[00:30:44] [SPEAKER_06]: Yeah, he's shot out of a cannon to some degree.
[00:30:46] [SPEAKER_04]: I don't know how you measure this, but who on survivor through the fifth vote ate better without like major rewards than John Mish?
[00:30:58] [SPEAKER_04]: That's my question.
[00:30:58] [SPEAKER_06]: That'd be a tough question to answer.
[00:31:00] [SPEAKER_06]: You have to go back through the annals.
[00:31:01] [SPEAKER_06]: But I don't really even blame John Mish, though.
[00:31:04] [SPEAKER_06]: I feel like that Missy is kind of just as a stepdad of a Totino's pizza rolls commercial.
[00:31:11] [SPEAKER_06]: Like, who are my hungry guys?
[00:31:13] [SPEAKER_06]: Whoa.
[00:31:13] [SPEAKER_06]: Who are my hungry guys?
[00:31:16] [SPEAKER_06]: Rice in the morning.
[00:31:17] [SPEAKER_04]: Who wants more rice?
[00:31:19] [SPEAKER_04]: Rice in the evening.
[00:31:20] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.
[00:31:22] [SPEAKER_04]: It's not delivery.
[00:31:24] [SPEAKER_04]: It's the rice.
[00:31:27] [SPEAKER_04]: She's making it.
[00:31:28] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, she makes healthy servings.
[00:31:31] [SPEAKER_04]: I feel like I would I'd be psyched to like if you went over to like of now, this is another question of like the survivor San Juan del Surcast members.
[00:31:41] [SPEAKER_04]: Certainly like whose house would you want to go over for a meal?
[00:31:46] [SPEAKER_04]: And Missy might be really high on that list because the portions are going to get a big portion.
[00:31:50] [SPEAKER_06]: You're going to get a big portion.
[00:31:51] [SPEAKER_06]: I miss you.
[00:31:52] [SPEAKER_06]: So we'll we'll get there.
[00:31:54] [SPEAKER_06]: We talk a little bit more about the rice.
[00:31:55] [SPEAKER_06]: Dale hates.
[00:31:56] [SPEAKER_04]: Dale is pissed off.
[00:31:57] [SPEAKER_06]: Yeah, that Missy and Dale is going to heat up like the rice in a little bit.
[00:32:02] [SPEAKER_06]: But all right.
[00:32:03] [SPEAKER_06]: So that John and Jacqueline, they're back together.
[00:32:07] [SPEAKER_06]: And Baylor is watching on about this couple.
[00:32:10] [SPEAKER_06]: She says, hey, look, there's look.
[00:32:12] [SPEAKER_06]: Why can't I find my John?
[00:32:14] [SPEAKER_06]: I'm single.
[00:32:15] [SPEAKER_06]: My mom is single.
[00:32:16] [SPEAKER_06]: Yeah.
[00:32:17] [SPEAKER_04]: Just to call it back.
[00:32:18] [SPEAKER_04]: We're live, of course, on YouTube.
[00:32:20] [SPEAKER_04]: A Star Wars dude in the chat says the moto tribe on Fiji was pretty well fed.
[00:32:25] [SPEAKER_04]: I would qualify that, though, as a reward beneficiary.
[00:32:29] [SPEAKER_04]: Right.
[00:32:29] [SPEAKER_04]: Like, I think that that's like the French press.
[00:32:33] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.
[00:32:33] [SPEAKER_04]: You know, like they benefited from a major like the central twist of that season.
[00:32:38] [SPEAKER_04]: Like I'm saying, like, with nothing but just what what what what the survivor gods gave you.
[00:32:44] [SPEAKER_04]: Big bag of rice.
[00:32:47] [SPEAKER_06]: Josh over on who not boo that we see Jeremy and Natalie talking and they're talking a little bit about Alec.
[00:32:55] [SPEAKER_06]: Alec is like a little high on the hog now.
[00:32:57] [SPEAKER_06]: He's really starting to contextualize.
[00:32:58] [SPEAKER_06]: Yeah, his bro is gone.
[00:33:00] [SPEAKER_06]: But he's like, hey, I beat my bro.
[00:33:01] [SPEAKER_06]: I guess I'm the best.
[00:33:03] [SPEAKER_06]: I guess I outlasted Drew and he was the best.
[00:33:06] [SPEAKER_06]: So what does that make me?
[00:33:08] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, I do feel like sort of like the survivor soul of Drew Christie just like escaped like a gasp.
[00:33:16] [SPEAKER_04]: From his mouth as his his torch was snuffed and it like soared through the night and hovered over to Coyopa camp.
[00:33:25] [SPEAKER_04]: And as Alec Christie was sleeping with his mouth open, he's like inhaled like.
[00:33:30] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, it just got like taken over.
[00:33:32] [SPEAKER_04]: Like what happens to you when you commune with Casey Kasem?
[00:33:36] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.
[00:33:36] [SPEAKER_04]: Uh, and yes, the hot fire consumes Alec.
[00:33:39] [SPEAKER_04]: And so Alec now gets to keep he gets to be the ambassador of the Drew Christie energy.
[00:33:44] [SPEAKER_04]: And so now Alec Christie's awake.
[00:33:46] [SPEAKER_06]: Natalie is like, you know, Alec, he's he's not that different from his brother.
[00:33:53] [SPEAKER_06]: He's exactly the same.
[00:33:56] [SPEAKER_06]: And Jeremy and Natalie are like commiserating about this, but they're like, we need him.
[00:33:59] [SPEAKER_06]: We need him because the singles we are going to need to band together.
[00:34:04] [SPEAKER_06]: And this was certainly a big deal in the original survivor blood versus water.
[00:34:09] [SPEAKER_06]: And so Jeremy and Natalie are feeling like, OK, we need to pull Alec over to our side,
[00:34:14] [SPEAKER_06]: because if he goes with Reed and Josh, that's going to be bad news for us.
[00:34:19] [SPEAKER_06]: And Jeremy has an iconic plan of how they're going to do this.
[00:34:23] [SPEAKER_00]: As a firefighter, we have this thing called surround and drown.
[00:34:27] [SPEAKER_00]: Surround and drown is if you're fighting fire on a building and it gets out of control
[00:34:32] [SPEAKER_00]: and you can't even go inside anymore.
[00:34:35] [SPEAKER_00]: Everybody stay outside with their hoses, surround it and drown it.
[00:34:39] [SPEAKER_00]: That's what we need to do.
[00:34:40] [SPEAKER_00]: We need to just drown him with the water of the singles, you know?
[00:34:45] [SPEAKER_04]: It's interesting.
[00:34:46] [SPEAKER_04]: Like, all right, we need that guy on our side.
[00:34:50] [SPEAKER_04]: Let's drown him.
[00:34:52] [SPEAKER_04]: Yes.
[00:34:53] [SPEAKER_06]: Now, this sounds great.
[00:34:55] [SPEAKER_06]: This sounds like a great plan.
[00:34:58] [SPEAKER_06]: Surround and drown.
[00:34:59] [SPEAKER_06]: I don't know if they really have the firepower to surround him.
[00:35:04] [SPEAKER_06]: I feel like it's Jeremy and Natalie and maybe Julie McGee here.
[00:35:10] [SPEAKER_06]: So it's not really going to be so much a surrounding him.
[00:35:14] [SPEAKER_06]: The water of the singles.
[00:35:16] [SPEAKER_04]: Look, in the earliest going of their time together as the Ghostbusters, Peter, Ray and Egon rolled as a triumvirate.
[00:35:25] [SPEAKER_04]: They were able to surround and drown Slimer at the hotel ballroom.
[00:35:30] [SPEAKER_04]: They were able to surround and drown.
[00:35:31] [SPEAKER_04]: That was a pretty good surround and drown.
[00:35:33] [SPEAKER_04]: They did a good surround and drown on the Scoleri brothers as well, who would be interesting on a blood versus water season.
[00:35:39] [SPEAKER_06]: Yeah.
[00:35:40] [SPEAKER_06]: So that was that was a good surround and drown.
[00:35:42] [SPEAKER_06]: I don't know if they ever accomplished surrounding and drowning, Alec Christie.
[00:35:47] [SPEAKER_04]: No, they don't.
[00:35:49] [SPEAKER_04]: I don't think.
[00:35:50] [SPEAKER_04]: What I was trying to figure out was like, is this scene in here for a reason that I don't remember?
[00:35:58] [SPEAKER_04]: Or is this like just like sort of like.
[00:36:00] [SPEAKER_04]: I think it sounds good.
[00:36:01] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, I think it sounds good.
[00:36:03] [SPEAKER_04]: Like the surround.
[00:36:04] [SPEAKER_04]: It's funny because like the surround and drown like quote is like really good for Jeremy's winner edit, but not for this season.
[00:36:15] [SPEAKER_06]: Mm hmm.
[00:36:16] [SPEAKER_04]: You know what I mean?
[00:36:17] [SPEAKER_06]: Like did he surround and drown in second chances?
[00:36:20] [SPEAKER_06]: Kind of.
[00:36:21] [SPEAKER_06]: Right.
[00:36:22] [SPEAKER_06]: It seems like his strategy was more of like meat shields.
[00:36:24] [SPEAKER_06]: So I don't really know if he was like a surround.
[00:36:26] [SPEAKER_04]: No, he like he surrounded himself and drowned himself and then rose to the top.
[00:36:32] [SPEAKER_04]: So I actually think that he did in many ways.
[00:36:34] [SPEAKER_04]: It was like a reverse surround and drown.
[00:36:35] [SPEAKER_06]: Reverse surround the drown.
[00:36:37] [SPEAKER_06]: OK, pretty good.
[00:36:38] [SPEAKER_06]: Surround me.
[00:36:40] [SPEAKER_06]: Yeah.
[00:36:40] [SPEAKER_06]: Mm hmm.
[00:36:41] [SPEAKER_06]: All right.
[00:36:42] [SPEAKER_06]: Drowned me out.
[00:36:43] [SPEAKER_06]: Let's then switch back over to Coyopa.
[00:36:46] [SPEAKER_06]: All right.
[00:36:46] [SPEAKER_06]: Time to make the rice.
[00:36:47] [SPEAKER_06]: Missy's making the rice.
[00:36:49] [SPEAKER_06]: And Dale is giving her the death stare.
[00:36:52] [SPEAKER_06]: She's putting it in.
[00:36:53] [SPEAKER_06]: And and Bailey's like, Mom, Mom, it's not enough.
[00:36:56] [SPEAKER_06]: And Dale's like, what the hell is she doing?
[00:37:00] [SPEAKER_08]: What is this?
[00:37:01] [SPEAKER_08]: Yeah.
[00:37:02] [SPEAKER_08]: Putting so much rice in the pot.
[00:37:06] [SPEAKER_06]: Well, like Dale, like like does a lot of muttering.
[00:37:11] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.
[00:37:11] [SPEAKER_06]: But he has like this.
[00:37:12] [SPEAKER_06]: He's muttering about a mother.
[00:37:15] [SPEAKER_06]: Yeah.
[00:37:15] [SPEAKER_03]: He's got he's got like some.
[00:37:17] [SPEAKER_03]: What is she doing?
[00:37:18] [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
[00:37:19] [SPEAKER_03]: She's a self-centered boss bitch.
[00:37:22] [SPEAKER_03]: You know, like that's sort of like Dale.
[00:37:24] [SPEAKER_03]: Right.
[00:37:24] [SPEAKER_04]: It's like.
[00:37:26] [SPEAKER_03]: She come to my tribe.
[00:37:28] [SPEAKER_03]: Eat my rice.
[00:37:30] [SPEAKER_03]: She's a self-centered bossy bitch.
[00:37:34] [SPEAKER_04]: It's like FarmGuy69 says.
[00:37:37] [SPEAKER_04]: You're giving her you're like giving him Lil when he's like like he's like giving a little
[00:37:42] [SPEAKER_04]: Hansel most.
[00:37:44] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.
[00:37:45] [SPEAKER_04]: There's like, you know, there's like definitely some like.
[00:37:48] [SPEAKER_06]: Well, I think he has two gears.
[00:37:51] [SPEAKER_06]: Like, I think he is like sort of like what?
[00:37:54] [SPEAKER_06]: Like he's like in quiet disbelief and then loud disbelief.
[00:37:58] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.
[00:37:59] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.
[00:37:59] [SPEAKER_06]: Yeah.
[00:38:00] [SPEAKER_04]: He hates us.
[00:38:01] [SPEAKER_04]: And and Kelly, like what you do get from Kelly in this episode, I feel like is just man.
[00:38:08] [SPEAKER_04]: I like even today.
[00:38:09] [SPEAKER_04]: I'm glad like it works out the way that it ends up working out.
[00:38:12] [SPEAKER_04]: Like and it works out mostly quite well for Kelly Wentworth, I would say, in the long haul.
[00:38:16] [SPEAKER_04]: But like I do like even watching this episode, I just kept wanting her to like go to the rest
[00:38:23] [SPEAKER_04]: of the tribe.
[00:38:23] [SPEAKER_04]: Like, can we just vote my frickin dad?
[00:38:26] [SPEAKER_04]: Can we just do that?
[00:38:28] [SPEAKER_06]: Yeah.
[00:38:28] [SPEAKER_06]: Because it's kind of like there was an out that they could have just voted out Dale.
[00:38:35] [SPEAKER_06]: And, you know, and it's it's really kind of surprising that they don't do that.
[00:38:38] [SPEAKER_06]: She could have just paired up with Keith.
[00:38:40] [SPEAKER_04]: She could have been like next time they play a parental relationship with Dale is over.
[00:38:48] [SPEAKER_04]: Keith is my new father now.
[00:38:50] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.
[00:38:50] [SPEAKER_06]: But I just like that.
[00:38:51] [SPEAKER_06]: Like there's a preexisting relationship with Missy from the other tribe.
[00:38:56] [SPEAKER_06]: Like, you know, she's with another young woman in Jacqueline.
[00:38:59] [SPEAKER_06]: Like it feels like that you could easily see the path that Dale is the outlier that.
[00:39:06] [SPEAKER_06]: OK, he's the squeaky wheel.
[00:39:08] [SPEAKER_06]: They could have easily just voted out Dale on this vote and kept Kelly.
[00:39:13] [SPEAKER_06]: And they don't really tell us why other than that she's a bigger long term threat.
[00:39:18] [SPEAKER_06]: But she's also like an ally.
[00:39:20] [SPEAKER_06]: So I don't really know that if you were going to take the shot here and break up Dale and Kelly, like from the perspective of like Missy.
[00:39:29] [SPEAKER_06]: Like and maybe there was like some some sort of like lasting.
[00:39:33] [SPEAKER_06]: Did Drew Christie incept the folks over at Hunapu that you had to get rid of Kelly and John was insisting.
[00:39:42] [SPEAKER_06]: But I don't think it's really in the episode of why they don't keep Kelly, who seems like that she could work with.
[00:39:50] [SPEAKER_06]: Like, where else is she going?
[00:39:51] [SPEAKER_06]: She's not like, what's she going to flip to go work with?
[00:39:54] Like.
[00:39:55] [SPEAKER_06]: With who?
[00:39:56] [SPEAKER_06]: Where is she going with?
[00:39:57] [SPEAKER_06]: Well, with Jeremy and Natalie, potentially.
[00:40:00] [SPEAKER_06]: And so I guess so.
[00:40:01] [SPEAKER_06]: But is that like I feel like Missy was aligned with Jeremy and Natalie on the other tribe.
[00:40:06] [SPEAKER_04]: But this is what I'm saying is that I think that this tribe swap lays bare the true dynamics of this game, which is it's the cups versus the sings.
[00:40:18] [SPEAKER_04]: You know, who's got a loved one still in this game?
[00:40:21] [SPEAKER_04]: But you're breaking them up anyway.
[00:40:22] [SPEAKER_04]: So.
[00:40:23] [SPEAKER_04]: Right.
[00:40:23] [SPEAKER_04]: Well, so if you're breaking them up anyway, you are now you are you are adding a number to the single side, which is not yours.
[00:40:32] [SPEAKER_04]: And you're Missy and Baylor and John and Jacqueline.
[00:40:35] [SPEAKER_04]: So if you're not going to go to tribal council again and just be able to like clip Dale or Keith, if you needed to, then at least like the one you've left in the game.
[00:40:47] [SPEAKER_04]: Should you all get to the merge together?
[00:40:50] [SPEAKER_04]: Where's Dale going?
[00:40:51] [SPEAKER_04]: Like, what's Dale going to do?
[00:40:53] [SPEAKER_04]: Right.
[00:40:53] [SPEAKER_04]: That's fair.
[00:40:54] [SPEAKER_04]: They've had the time to see Kelly.
[00:40:55] [SPEAKER_04]: I just would have loved to have seen that.
[00:40:58] [SPEAKER_06]: Like, I feel like that we don't really get to hear that kind of strategy talk from Missy or John throughout the whole season.
[00:41:04] [SPEAKER_04]: So I would like whether or not it existed on the cutting room floor or not.
[00:41:07] [SPEAKER_04]: Who can say?
[00:41:08] [SPEAKER_04]: Because we might just be wish casting it on them.
[00:41:11] [SPEAKER_04]: Totally.
[00:41:11] [SPEAKER_04]: For sure.
[00:41:12] [SPEAKER_04]: Well, this is sort of like, like, you know, some sort of like, like glitch in the matrix type stuff is happening here with this vote.
[00:41:21] [SPEAKER_04]: So we can we can get to it in a bit.
[00:41:23] [SPEAKER_04]: But like, you know, the likes of John Mish, Jacqueline, Missy and Baylor and Keith are able to snow future survivor winner.
[00:41:36] [SPEAKER_04]: Not winner legend.
[00:41:37] [SPEAKER_04]: Maybe winner someday.
[00:41:38] [SPEAKER_04]: Kelly went.
[00:41:38] [SPEAKER_04]: Would you say they snowed her?
[00:41:40] [SPEAKER_04]: I mean, I just feel like that they didn't go with them.
[00:41:44] [SPEAKER_04]: She's she's totally taken off guard, it seems.
[00:41:47] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.
[00:41:47] [SPEAKER_04]: Like, you know, I think that maybe she's off guard.
[00:41:50] [SPEAKER_06]: Maybe she thought that like they're going to vote her dad out.
[00:41:52] [SPEAKER_06]: Like maybe she thought that and maybe that's why she doesn't really, you know, go absolutely like, you know, balls to the wall in terms of like trying to defend herself.
[00:42:06] [SPEAKER_06]: Maybe she just assumes like, OK, they're going to vote my dad out.
[00:42:08] [SPEAKER_06]: And then, you know, I'll be able to recover from this.
[00:42:11] [SPEAKER_04]: To to to apply this as we're like we're going back watching this 10 years later in the real time, a new season is airing right now.
[00:42:20] [SPEAKER_04]: So just to like map it on to the episode five from this past week of 47.
[00:42:25] [SPEAKER_04]: I think like like Anika struck me as somebody who could have been like really, really good at this game.
[00:42:31] [SPEAKER_04]: And like if they're gonna if they're gonna keep baby Andy and they're gonna vote someone out from from the breadwinners,
[00:42:37] [SPEAKER_04]: I think Anika is a good person to to shoot out of the sky because she has she seems like a very savvy person, a very sociable person, a clever person.
[00:42:47] [SPEAKER_04]: But what she doesn't have going into this tribal council that Wentworth also doesn't have is like ever having been there before with like their back against the wall.
[00:42:59] [SPEAKER_04]: And I think like this is a thing that certainly we talked about a ton on Evolution of Strategy and you've talked about a ton over the years for returning player seasons.
[00:43:07] [SPEAKER_04]: It's that thing of you get voted out. Now, you know what that feels like.
[00:43:12] [SPEAKER_04]: Now, you know what those days feel like Wentworth just doesn't have that experience right now.
[00:43:16] [SPEAKER_04]: She's so young in this. This is like a very like goofball screwball kind of like knucklehead chucklehead type of a season anyway.
[00:43:24] [SPEAKER_04]: She's probably not overly concerned, but that ends up, of course, being that bites, bites, bites are in the best.
[00:43:34] [SPEAKER_06]: There's a little bit of acrimony over the fact of that Dale said or Missy.
[00:43:41] [SPEAKER_06]: I'm sorry. Baylor basically tattles that Dale's been trying to get me out the whole time.
[00:43:48] [SPEAKER_06]: Like what you're trying to you're being mean to my kid.
[00:43:52] [SPEAKER_06]: Say what? Yeah.
[00:43:53] [SPEAKER_06]: Yeah. And then Kelly appropriately points out like, well, I think that Missy, I think that Baylor tried to vote out Dale first.
[00:44:03] [SPEAKER_06]: Yeah. Like, well, I don't know. Who cares what order it happened?
[00:44:06] [SPEAKER_06]: Like he's being mean to my kid. I'm the mama bear now.
[00:44:11] [SPEAKER_06]: You should have just voted him out.
[00:44:13] [SPEAKER_04]: It's real. It's real.
[00:44:15] [SPEAKER_04]: It's happening. Mama bear.
[00:44:17] [SPEAKER_04]: Wow. A papa bear mama bear alliance could have.
[00:44:20] [SPEAKER_04]: I mean, no, it wouldn't really work out the way that I was imagining in my head.
[00:44:24] [SPEAKER_04]: Mm hmm. Yeah. Yeah.
[00:44:27] [SPEAKER_06]: So anyway.
[00:44:29] [SPEAKER_06]: We go to the little quick scene before, like a two episode arc is coming at Hunapu.
[00:44:37] [SPEAKER_06]: Reed is like, oh, let's go kill the vultures and eat them.
[00:44:41] [SPEAKER_06]: Alex like, no, they stink.
[00:44:44] [SPEAKER_06]: Trust me. You don't want them.
[00:44:45] [SPEAKER_06]: Don't eat the juice isn't worth the squeeze.
[00:44:49] [SPEAKER_04]: The juice isn't worth the squeeze.
[00:44:51] [SPEAKER_04]: If you were a meat collector.
[00:44:53] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.
[00:44:54] [SPEAKER_04]: Would you collect vulture?
[00:44:56] [SPEAKER_06]: No. Drew says, Alex says they stink.
[00:44:58] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah. Yeah.
[00:45:00] [SPEAKER_06]: Yeah.
[00:45:00] [SPEAKER_06]: All right. We go to the immunity challenge.
[00:45:03] [SPEAKER_06]: Would you eat it on Survivor?
[00:45:04] [SPEAKER_06]: Would I eat it? I mean, is it edible?
[00:45:08] [SPEAKER_06]: It is a bird.
[00:45:09] [SPEAKER_06]: I would eat it like I would not be above eating the vulture on Survivor.
[00:45:15] [SPEAKER_06]: If it could be eaten.
[00:45:18] [SPEAKER_04]: I think you can eat a vulture.
[00:45:20] [SPEAKER_04]: I just don't think it's going to taste great.
[00:45:22] [SPEAKER_04]: And sounds like you'll have very bad breath.
[00:45:25] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.
[00:45:26] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.
[00:45:27] [SPEAKER_04]: Not too worried about that.
[00:45:28] [SPEAKER_04]: I think that's sort of par for the course.
[00:45:30] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.
[00:45:31] [SPEAKER_04]: But like vulture breath.
[00:45:34] [SPEAKER_04]: On top of already pre-existing Survivor breath.
[00:45:37] [SPEAKER_04]: Mm hmm.
[00:45:38] [SPEAKER_04]: Woof.
[00:45:39] [SPEAKER_04]: Woof.
[00:45:39] [SPEAKER_04]: But yeah, they're hungry.
[00:45:40] [SPEAKER_04]: There's a lot of whispering on Survivor.
[00:45:42] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.
[00:45:43] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, exactly.
[00:45:44] [SPEAKER_04]: Like you got like in the new era of like people standing up at tribal council and huddling together and stuff.
[00:45:50] [SPEAKER_04]: Can you imagine like like Reed gets into that and then everyone's like.
[00:45:54] [SPEAKER_06]: I just think that you're like, I don't remember ever smelling anybody's breath on Survivor.
[00:46:00] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
[00:46:00] [SPEAKER_02]: Maybe because it was so traumatic that you erased it from your memory.
[00:46:05] [SPEAKER_06]: Even like BO.
[00:46:06] [SPEAKER_06]: I don't like I think I only remember.
[00:46:08] [SPEAKER_06]: Like somebody had that like very bad BO.
[00:46:13] [SPEAKER_04]: You want to name names?
[00:46:15] [SPEAKER_04]: Mateo.
[00:46:16] [SPEAKER_04]: Ah, yeah.
[00:46:18] [SPEAKER_07]: Mm hmm.
[00:46:18] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.
[00:46:19] [SPEAKER_04]: But it's like like very pungent.
[00:46:22] [SPEAKER_04]: Like pungent.
[00:46:24] [SPEAKER_04]: Like pungent.
[00:46:24] [SPEAKER_04]: Like I tend to think that a BO kind of smells like almost universally like a like a Campbell's chicken noodle soup.
[00:46:31] [SPEAKER_05]: Hmm.
[00:46:33] [SPEAKER_05]: I can see it.
[00:46:34] [SPEAKER_04]: It's like sharp like a sharpness to it.
[00:46:36] [SPEAKER_04]: And oddly, even though that is like my fervent lifelong position on BO, I've thought this for my entire life that I can recall that it smells like Campbell's chicken noodle soup.
[00:46:47] [SPEAKER_04]: Still love that stuff.
[00:46:48] [SPEAKER_07]: Mm hmm.
[00:46:49] [SPEAKER_04]: Delicious.
[00:46:51] [SPEAKER_04]: All right.
[00:46:51] [SPEAKER_06]: Break up some saltine crackers.
[00:46:53] [SPEAKER_06]: Put it in.
[00:46:53] [SPEAKER_06]: Oh, well, look, you're making everybody at Hunapu hungry because they really want food.
[00:46:58] [SPEAKER_06]: And so Hunapu, they win the immunity challenge.
[00:47:02] [SPEAKER_06]: Kind of a nothing too exciting challenge.
[00:47:04] [SPEAKER_06]: Right.
[00:47:04] [SPEAKER_06]: Whatever.
[00:47:05] [SPEAKER_06]: Go through some mud.
[00:47:06] [SPEAKER_06]: Shake it.
[00:47:06] [SPEAKER_06]: They're birthed into the mud.
[00:47:08] [SPEAKER_06]: Shake a thing.
[00:47:09] [SPEAKER_06]: Shake a thing.
[00:47:10] [SPEAKER_06]: Shake that thing.
[00:47:11] [SPEAKER_04]: Shake that thing.
[00:47:12] [SPEAKER_04]: Uh, then throw some sandbags onto another thing.
[00:47:17] [SPEAKER_04]: It's a blowout.
[00:47:18] [SPEAKER_04]: Yep.
[00:47:18] [SPEAKER_04]: Hunapu wins the day.
[00:47:20] [SPEAKER_04]: Yes.
[00:47:21] [SPEAKER_06]: And maybe this is a hot take.
[00:47:23] [SPEAKER_06]: Um, I don't like survivors like doing challenges covered in mud.
[00:47:27] [SPEAKER_06]: I can't.
[00:47:28] [SPEAKER_06]: It's hard to know who's who.
[00:47:30] [SPEAKER_04]: My biggest problem is when they do that, like in the first episode.
[00:47:33] [SPEAKER_06]: Yeah.
[00:47:33] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.
[00:47:34] [SPEAKER_04]: Which I know is like Jeff loves that right now.
[00:47:37] [SPEAKER_04]: He loves it.
[00:47:37] [SPEAKER_04]: He loves it.
[00:47:37] [SPEAKER_06]: I don't know who they get birthed into the mud.
[00:47:39] [SPEAKER_06]: Who is that?
[00:47:40] [SPEAKER_04]: I don't know who they are.
[00:47:42] [SPEAKER_04]: Uh, yeah, I don't particularly.
[00:47:43] [SPEAKER_04]: Well, I feel like, um, I can like.
[00:47:46] [SPEAKER_04]: Like, I feel like when I see them covered in mud, Rob, I feel like I can feel it hardening on my skin.
[00:47:53] [SPEAKER_04]: The mud.
[00:47:54] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.
[00:47:55] [SPEAKER_04]: The dirt that you're caked in.
[00:47:57] [SPEAKER_04]: And then I get like sort of like those.
[00:47:59] [SPEAKER_04]: Is it caked?
[00:47:59] [SPEAKER_04]: Like the, the, the goose flesh, right?
[00:48:02] [SPEAKER_04]: Like those like little like unsettling shivers.
[00:48:04] [SPEAKER_04]: Uh, not the vulture flesh.
[00:48:07] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.
[00:48:08] [SPEAKER_04]: All right.
[00:48:08] [SPEAKER_04]: I don't like it either.
[00:48:09] [SPEAKER_04]: I would love.
[00:48:10] [SPEAKER_04]: I think that they should be allowed to shower every night.
[00:48:14] [SPEAKER_06]: Okay.
[00:48:14] [SPEAKER_06]: You might be alone with that.
[00:48:17] [SPEAKER_04]: I don't actually really think that.
[00:48:18] [SPEAKER_06]: Yeah.
[00:48:19] [SPEAKER_06]: All right.
[00:48:20] [SPEAKER_06]: After the challenge, we go back to who not boo.
[00:48:24] [SPEAKER_06]: Oh, I'm sorry.
[00:48:24] [SPEAKER_06]: I'm sorry.
[00:48:25] [SPEAKER_06]: We don't go back.
[00:48:25] [SPEAKER_06]: I'm sorry.
[00:48:26] [SPEAKER_06]: Sorry.
[00:48:26] [SPEAKER_06]: We don't go back to the who not boo.
[00:48:27] [SPEAKER_06]: Who not who sticks around.
[00:48:28] [SPEAKER_06]: And then you're a yaring through the good part.
[00:48:31] [SPEAKER_06]: Yeah.
[00:48:31] [SPEAKER_06]: Reed, uh, says, um, Jeff, uh, when you get a sec, we got one more thing to talk to you about.
[00:48:39] [SPEAKER_04]: Hey, Jeff's like, you sons of bitches.
[00:48:41] [SPEAKER_06]: Yeah.
[00:48:41] [SPEAKER_06]: All right.
[00:48:42] [SPEAKER_06]: All right.
[00:48:42] [SPEAKER_06]: Let's go.
[00:48:43] [SPEAKER_06]: Let's go.
[00:48:44] [SPEAKER_06]: Oh boy.
[00:48:45] [SPEAKER_06]: Yeah.
[00:48:45] [SPEAKER_06]: And they said they have no more rice.
[00:48:47] [SPEAKER_06]: Alex says it's drew who ate all the rice.
[00:48:52] [SPEAKER_06]: And they said they want to trade in one of their rewards for the rice for more rice.
[00:48:58] [SPEAKER_04]: Is it fair to blame all of this on drew?
[00:49:01] [SPEAKER_04]: I don't know.
[00:49:02] [SPEAKER_04]: I don't know.
[00:49:03] [SPEAKER_04]: Definitely not.
[00:49:04] [SPEAKER_04]: And like, I don't know that you want to play that game with the production that has the tapes,
[00:49:13] [SPEAKER_04]: much like Brian Gumbel.
[00:49:15] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.
[00:49:15] [SPEAKER_04]: You can get Dan Foley.
[00:49:16] [SPEAKER_04]: That hasn't happened yet.
[00:49:17] [SPEAKER_04]: Yes.
[00:49:18] [SPEAKER_04]: But like, I, I do think what is happening is, uh, Probst getting sick of this attitude,
[00:49:28] [SPEAKER_04]: of this level of chicanery.
[00:49:30] [SPEAKER_04]: That's not just happening on San Juan del Sur.
[00:49:34] [SPEAKER_04]: Uh, but yeah, we will see like these, like I was edited poorly, uh, moments that are going
[00:49:39] [SPEAKER_04]: to be coming in the future.
[00:49:41] [SPEAKER_07]: Mm hmm.
[00:49:42] [SPEAKER_04]: You know?
[00:49:43] [SPEAKER_04]: Uh, so I think like he's already like, he seems like he's starting to lose some chill.
[00:49:48] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.
[00:49:49] [SPEAKER_04]: In this, uh.
[00:49:49] [SPEAKER_04]: Salty.
[00:49:52] [SPEAKER_04]: Umami.
[00:49:53] [SPEAKER_04]: Mm hmm.
[00:49:53] [SPEAKER_06]: Okay.
[00:49:54] [SPEAKER_06]: So Jeff says, okay, well, oh, so you want more.
[00:49:56] [SPEAKER_06]: You ate all the rice.
[00:49:57] [SPEAKER_06]: You want more.
[00:49:59] [SPEAKER_06]: You're going to trade the rewards that you won from eating all the rice.
[00:50:03] [SPEAKER_06]: And he said that there will be like, he's like, you know what?
[00:50:06] [SPEAKER_06]: I need to think about it.
[00:50:07] [SPEAKER_06]: I need to talk to your mother about this.
[00:50:09] [SPEAKER_06]: That there will.
[00:50:10] [SPEAKER_06]: I will come to your camp tomorrow.
[00:50:12] [SPEAKER_06]: Okay.
[00:50:13] [SPEAKER_06]: And there will be a penalty and it will be steep.
[00:50:16] [SPEAKER_06]: There is an invoice to pay.
[00:50:17] [SPEAKER_04]: He says to them.
[00:50:18] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.
[00:50:20] [SPEAKER_04]: Upapi has to talk to Umami.
[00:50:22] [SPEAKER_04]: Mm hmm.
[00:50:22] [SPEAKER_04]: And then we'll, we'll see what we can, what we can pull together.
[00:50:26] [SPEAKER_04]: Uh, loved.
[00:50:26] [SPEAKER_04]: Well, I don't always remember to watch the previews, uh, for the next episodes here,
[00:50:30] [SPEAKER_04]: but I did today.
[00:50:31] [SPEAKER_04]: And I, uh, I'm just so excited for next week's podcast when Jeff is like, no one has ever
[00:50:37] [SPEAKER_04]: needed more help than you guys.
[00:50:39] [SPEAKER_04]: Yep.
[00:50:39] [SPEAKER_04]: That's coming next week.
[00:50:40] [SPEAKER_04]: This is embarrassing.
[00:50:41] [SPEAKER_04]: Okay.
[00:50:42] [SPEAKER_06]: Meanwhile, back at Coyopa, uh, Kelly is trying to bring in John and Jacqueline.
[00:50:48] [SPEAKER_06]: Basically John and Jacqueline, they are the swing votes that they are trying to decide which
[00:50:53] [SPEAKER_06]: way to go.
[00:50:55] [SPEAKER_06]: Uh, Missy and Baylor.
[00:50:56] [SPEAKER_06]: They will, they don't want to work with a Dale and Kelly and Baylor and, uh, uh, I'm sorry
[00:51:03] [SPEAKER_06]: that John and Jacqueline need to figure out what to do.
[00:51:06] [SPEAKER_06]: There's not a real great working history for Kelly and John together.
[00:51:11] [SPEAKER_06]: Uh, Baylor and Jacqueline have never really worked together, but they were also both just
[00:51:17] [SPEAKER_04]: like, so on the bottom, uh, at this tribe that maybe like there were, you know, they thought
[00:51:22] [SPEAKER_04]: that it would be either one of them next.
[00:51:24] [SPEAKER_04]: Right.
[00:51:25] [SPEAKER_06]: Interesting.
[00:51:26] [SPEAKER_06]: Kelly goes off and Missy is like, she's looking for an idol.
[00:51:30] [SPEAKER_06]: I'm like, well, I mean, Missy, uh, have you seen the future?
[00:51:33] [SPEAKER_06]: Mm-hmm.
[00:51:34] [SPEAKER_06]: Like one of the best idol finders there is.
[00:51:36] [SPEAKER_06]: Like, yeah.
[00:51:37] [SPEAKER_06]: Yeah.
[00:51:39] [SPEAKER_04]: Uh, so yeah.
[00:51:40] [SPEAKER_04]: Look, their radar is up.
[00:51:42] [SPEAKER_04]: The Drew Christie prophecy.
[00:51:44] [SPEAKER_04]: Uh, you know, he incept, he incepted this idea into the culture, into the zeitgeist.
[00:51:51] [SPEAKER_07]: Mm-hmm.
[00:51:52] [SPEAKER_04]: Drew Christie, you know, birthed a legend.
[00:51:55] [SPEAKER_04]: Yep.
[00:51:57] [SPEAKER_04]: And so everyone's like, oh.
[00:51:58] [SPEAKER_04]: It was a self-fulfilling prophecy.
[00:52:00] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.
[00:52:01] [SPEAKER_04]: Uh, so everyone's like, oh, she's dangerous.
[00:52:03] [SPEAKER_04]: I guess, was it self-fulfilling prophecy or is Drew Christie an Oracle?
[00:52:07] [SPEAKER_04]: We've, we wondered to this very question 10 years ago.
[00:52:12] [SPEAKER_07]: Mm-hmm.
[00:52:13] [SPEAKER_04]: I am on the other side of 10, 10 years greater with two additional Kelly Wentworth survivor
[00:52:20] [SPEAKER_04]: appearances under our belt.
[00:52:23] [SPEAKER_04]: I'm ready to declare it.
[00:52:24] [SPEAKER_04]: Drew Christie is an Oracle.
[00:52:27] [SPEAKER_04]: Hmm.
[00:52:27] [SPEAKER_04]: An Oracle.
[00:52:28] [SPEAKER_04]: He could see the future.
[00:52:31] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.
[00:52:32] [SPEAKER_04]: He's like Desmond, uh, except like instead of seeing like what's happening to Charlie,
[00:52:37] [SPEAKER_04]: he's seeing what's happening to Wentworth.
[00:52:38] [SPEAKER_06]: Yeah.
[00:52:39] [SPEAKER_06]: No, it's, it's hard because I think that you don't want to assign, uh, agency to him of Kelly
[00:52:45] [SPEAKER_06]: becoming great.
[00:52:46] [SPEAKER_06]: I think.
[00:52:46] [SPEAKER_06]: So you have to, in a way, assign him agency that no, he could see that Kelly was going
[00:52:50] [SPEAKER_06]: to be great.
[00:52:51] [SPEAKER_06]: You could see it.
[00:52:52] [SPEAKER_06]: He knew.
[00:52:53] [SPEAKER_06]: He, it's, he's not responsible for it, but he did see it.
[00:52:57] [SPEAKER_04]: Yes.
[00:52:57] [SPEAKER_04]: Correct.
[00:52:58] [SPEAKER_04]: I think that's right.
[00:52:59] [SPEAKER_04]: I think that's right.
[00:53:00] [SPEAKER_04]: So she's allegedly going to find an idol.
[00:53:03] [SPEAKER_04]: And like Dale has been like a little bit, uh, sus with this stuff.
[00:53:08] [SPEAKER_07]: Mm hmm.
[00:53:08] [SPEAKER_04]: Right.
[00:53:09] [SPEAKER_04]: Uh, like he's a little bit of a tricky guy or has he not been tricky yet?
[00:53:12] [SPEAKER_06]: I don't think he's been that tricky.
[00:53:13] [SPEAKER_06]: He did take the thing off the, uh, top of the well, but I think he's going to do that
[00:53:17] [SPEAKER_06]: next week.
[00:53:18] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.
[00:53:19] [SPEAKER_06]: So, uh, let's go to tribal council.
[00:53:21] [SPEAKER_06]: Uh, Keith nail is like, Hey, you could be six one against me tonight.
[00:53:26] [SPEAKER_04]: Is there, is, is no one entertaining Keith as an option?
[00:53:30] [SPEAKER_04]: No, I don't think so.
[00:53:31] [SPEAKER_06]: I think he's well loved, uh, by everybody.
[00:53:33] [SPEAKER_06]: So there's no, no really incentive on that.
[00:53:36] [SPEAKER_06]: And there's just like some really bad blood brewing between Dale and Missy.
[00:53:40] [SPEAKER_06]: And so, um, he says that, uh, she's a stuck up bossy bitch.
[00:53:46] [SPEAKER_06]: It's what he says.
[00:53:48] [SPEAKER_06]: But here they're really trying to sweet talk John and Jacqueline.
[00:53:52] [SPEAKER_06]: Uh, Dale says about John and Jacqueline, he says, Hey, they're, they're the hottest
[00:53:56] [SPEAKER_06]: couple at camp.
[00:54:00] [SPEAKER_06]: Easy tiger.
[00:54:01] [SPEAKER_06]: And Baylor was like, they're the hottest couple anywhere.
[00:54:04] [SPEAKER_06]: Yeah.
[00:54:04] [SPEAKER_06]: Anywhere.
[00:54:05] [SPEAKER_06]: Everybody's trying to one up, uh, how hot John and Jacqueline are there.
[00:54:08] [SPEAKER_06]: They're there.
[00:54:09] [SPEAKER_04]: They are stunning.
[00:54:12] [SPEAKER_04]: They're glowing, you know?
[00:54:15] [SPEAKER_04]: And like, they're like giving each other a little smooches on the beach.
[00:54:18] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.
[00:54:20] [SPEAKER_04]: They're glowing.
[00:54:21] [SPEAKER_06]: They're pretty schmoopy that they are back reunited.
[00:54:24] [SPEAKER_06]: They will famously have a point when they get into a fight.
[00:54:28] [SPEAKER_06]: Oh, right.
[00:54:29] [SPEAKER_04]: Oh, but right now, man.
[00:54:32] [SPEAKER_04]: Love this season.
[00:54:33] [SPEAKER_04]: It's pretty schmoopy.
[00:54:34] [SPEAKER_04]: Okay.
[00:54:34] [SPEAKER_04]: They're schmoopy.
[00:54:35] [SPEAKER_04]: They're schmoopy.
[00:54:35] [SPEAKER_04]: They've just been reunited.
[00:54:37] [SPEAKER_04]: Uh, I will just, just an observation I did make.
[00:54:40] [SPEAKER_04]: I do want to, like, I don't want to dwell on this.
[00:54:42] [SPEAKER_04]: Uh, but like, they are so schmoopy once they've been reunited.
[00:54:46] [SPEAKER_04]: Then over at Hunapu, Reed and Josh are reunited.
[00:54:50] [SPEAKER_04]: And when they're, when they have to like sit in the bleachers with their new tribe permutations
[00:54:54] [SPEAKER_04]: at Hero Arena, they're like not even sitting next to each other.
[00:54:58] [SPEAKER_04]: They're like, they're like, and they could, they could have if they wanted to.
[00:55:01] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.
[00:55:02] [SPEAKER_04]: They're like, they're like diagonally across.
[00:55:03] [SPEAKER_04]: They're famously not schmoopy.
[00:55:05] [SPEAKER_04]: They're waiting until marriage.
[00:55:06] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.
[00:55:07] [SPEAKER_04]: No schmooping.
[00:55:08] [SPEAKER_04]: Mm-hmm.
[00:55:09] [SPEAKER_04]: No schmoops.
[00:55:10] [SPEAKER_06]: Yeah.
[00:55:11] [SPEAKER_06]: Um, so, uh, we, uh, get a little bit of the retelling of was Dale going after Baylor?
[00:55:18] [SPEAKER_06]: Was Baylor going after Dale?
[00:55:20] [SPEAKER_06]: Missy says, uh, she's going to protect her kid.
[00:55:23] [SPEAKER_06]: Okay.
[00:55:23] [SPEAKER_06]: She's that, you know, Kelly talked about like, okay, well this like, uh, animosity between,
[00:55:28] [SPEAKER_06]: uh, Baylor and Dale.
[00:55:31] [SPEAKER_06]: This is like a 50 pound backpack.
[00:55:33] [SPEAKER_06]: And Missy's like, add another 50 pound backpack.
[00:55:36] [SPEAKER_06]: Cause I'm coming too.
[00:55:37] [SPEAKER_06]: Cause I'm mama bear is going to protect her cup.
[00:55:40] [SPEAKER_04]: It's not good.
[00:55:42] [SPEAKER_04]: Kelly's like, I think Kelly should have just been like, daddy.
[00:55:50] [SPEAKER_06]: I just wonder if she thought like, okay, they're going to vote my dad out.
[00:55:53] [SPEAKER_06]: Like, I don't have to like pull a Sierra.
[00:55:56] [SPEAKER_06]: I don't have to vote out my dad.
[00:55:57] [SPEAKER_06]: And like, I'll get through this.
[00:56:00] [SPEAKER_06]: I don't remember.
[00:56:01] [SPEAKER_06]: I have to go back to the exit interview and think about if they, if she had been thinking
[00:56:05] [SPEAKER_06]: that they're just going to vote out her dad and then she'll recover.
[00:56:08] [SPEAKER_04]: What lessons, if any, are learned from this tribal council for a potential future blood
[00:56:17] [SPEAKER_04]: versus water that still hasn't come to pass?
[00:56:19] [SPEAKER_04]: Like, uh, is, do you like, should the, should blood versus water three, whenever it happens
[00:56:26] [SPEAKER_04]: here, at least state side, uh, should the loved ones come into that?
[00:56:31] [SPEAKER_04]: Like a lot more prime to just like knock each other out.
[00:56:35] [SPEAKER_06]: I don't think you should be primed to knock each other out, but I ironically Kelly and Sierra
[00:56:39] [SPEAKER_06]: will get on the same page in survivor second chances.
[00:56:42] [SPEAKER_06]: That famously is a part of the witches coven.
[00:56:47] [SPEAKER_06]: And that I think that Sierra was a little bit more of a pragmatist.
[00:56:53] [SPEAKER_06]: I think then Kelly Wentworth is of like, okay, uh, I don't want to do this, but it's a means
[00:56:58] [SPEAKER_06]: to an end and I'll do it.
[00:56:59] [SPEAKER_06]: And I think that Kelly's like a little bit more principled.
[00:57:01] [SPEAKER_06]: I'm like, no, I'm not going to vote out my dad.
[00:57:03] [SPEAKER_06]: Cause you tell me to like, uh, you either vote, vote him out or don't, but you don't need
[00:57:07] [SPEAKER_06]: my vote to vote out my dad.
[00:57:12] [SPEAKER_04]: Sierra though, ice water in the veins.
[00:57:15] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.
[00:57:16] [SPEAKER_04]: Bye mom.
[00:57:19] [SPEAKER_06]: I, yep.
[00:57:21] [SPEAKER_06]: It's a weird vote.
[00:57:22] [SPEAKER_06]: Bye mama.
[00:57:23] [SPEAKER_06]: It ends up being, uh, two votes, two votes, Kelly, two votes, Dale, two votes, Missy, uh,
[00:57:32] [SPEAKER_06]: two votes, uh, Kelly, is it Missy or Baylor that they voted for?
[00:57:35] [SPEAKER_06]: Missy, right?
[00:57:36] [SPEAKER_04]: Baylor.
[00:57:36] [SPEAKER_04]: Baylor.
[00:57:37] [SPEAKER_04]: Okay.
[00:57:37] [SPEAKER_06]: Two votes, Miss, uh, Baylor.
[00:57:39] [SPEAKER_06]: And then a final vote is Kelly and Kelly, the tribe spoken.
[00:57:43] [SPEAKER_03]: Ah, ah, ah, yeah.
[00:57:45] [SPEAKER_04]: So the best is yet to come.
[00:57:47] [SPEAKER_04]: The best is yet to come.
[00:57:48] [SPEAKER_04]: And now we know that that is a, a major change from our previous analysis of San Juan del
[00:57:54] [SPEAKER_04]: Sor of this episode.
[00:57:56] [SPEAKER_04]: We were not yet San Juan del Sor what would happen with Kelly Wentworth in the future.
[00:58:02] [SPEAKER_04]: Hindsight being what it is, knowing that Kelly is going to have a historic,
[00:58:06] [SPEAKER_04]: historic run on second chance.
[00:58:07] [SPEAKER_04]: She's going to go fairly deep in edge of extinction as well.
[00:58:11] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.
[00:58:11] [SPEAKER_04]: So I, if she wants to come back someday, I think she'll get the chance.
[00:58:15] [SPEAKER_04]: She feels like one of those people who could play a fourth time.
[00:58:17] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.
[00:58:18] [SPEAKER_04]: Um, with all of that said, she gets knocked out by Missy, Baylor, John Misch, Jacqueline.
[00:58:27] [SPEAKER_04]: These are not necessarily like the Mount Rushmore of strategists, even on San Juan del Sor.
[00:58:33] [SPEAKER_04]: Sure.
[00:58:34] [SPEAKER_04]: Sure.
[00:58:34] [SPEAKER_04]: Uh, so what does that say?
[00:58:36] [SPEAKER_04]: Does it say anything?
[00:58:37] [SPEAKER_04]: Is survivor just a little bit?
[00:58:39] [SPEAKER_04]: There's just like, sometimes it's just that, that, that, that's an intangible and you can't
[00:58:46] [SPEAKER_04]: really do much about it.
[00:58:48] [SPEAKER_04]: Um, could there be a Kelly Wentworth on survivor 50?
[00:58:51] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, absolutely.
[00:58:52] [SPEAKER_04]: I think, I think I get totally depends on like what the format ends up being, but she
[00:58:55] [SPEAKER_04]: would be on my short list to see her again.
[00:58:58] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.
[00:58:58] [SPEAKER_04]: I'm not talking about literal Kelly Wentworth.
[00:59:01] [SPEAKER_06]: Like, could there be somebody who is somebody who is like, uh, kind of like, wait, who?
[00:59:08] [SPEAKER_04]: Oh, I see what you mean.
[00:59:10] [SPEAKER_04]: Uh, so like someone who didn't make, uh, make it terribly far in their season, but get tapped
[00:59:18] [SPEAKER_04]: to be brought back in to survivor 50 and then goes on to have like a meteoric rise.
[00:59:24] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.
[00:59:24] [SPEAKER_06]: Honestly, like, I feel like Annika could be like a, somebody who, you know, like didn't maybe
[00:59:30] [SPEAKER_06]: light the world on fire in like her time.
[00:59:33] [SPEAKER_06]: But like, I think that like somebody who like the production believes in we're putting this
[00:59:39] [SPEAKER_06]: energy out into the world.
[00:59:41] [SPEAKER_04]: Let's get Asia back out there.
[00:59:43] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.
[00:59:43] [SPEAKER_04]: Wow.
[00:59:44] [SPEAKER_04]: You know, incredible.
[00:59:46] [SPEAKER_04]: Give Asia Welsh Kelly Wentworth upside.
[00:59:50] [SPEAKER_06]: Yeah.
[00:59:51] [SPEAKER_06]: Bring her back.
[00:59:52] [SPEAKER_06]: I mean, to get back into the second show after not doing, you know, uh, you know, going
[00:59:58] [SPEAKER_06]: super far in the first show, that's the sweet spot.
[01:00:01] [SPEAKER_04]: I think that that might, uh, like, yeah, it is, but it's not the sweet spot to get cast,
[01:00:08] [SPEAKER_04]: you know, that's the challenge.
[01:00:10] [SPEAKER_04]: That's the challenge.
[01:00:11] [SPEAKER_04]: So like you have to, ideally you want to be the last person that they cast.
[01:00:16] [SPEAKER_04]: Also, this no longer really applies.
[01:00:19] [SPEAKER_04]: Uh, there's no longer.
[01:00:20] [SPEAKER_04]: No, I don't think so.
[01:00:22] [SPEAKER_04]: Because like now we are in an era where the first returning player season is going to
[01:00:28] [SPEAKER_04]: occur.
[01:00:29] [SPEAKER_04]: Like the first returning player season since winners at war is going to occur 10 seasons
[01:00:34] [SPEAKER_04]: later.
[01:00:35] [SPEAKER_04]: So, uh, my, my, uh, who knows what the fifties looks like for this show, but my feeling, uh,
[01:00:42] [SPEAKER_04]: like my, my recommendation to any new era and beyond survivor player is savor the flavor.
[01:00:51] [SPEAKER_04]: Enjoy it.
[01:00:52] [SPEAKER_04]: Have a great time.
[01:00:53] [SPEAKER_04]: Eat well, eat all the rice early on because you're not getting another bag most likely.
[01:01:00] [SPEAKER_04]: Uh, so like, I don't think that this works as a strategy anymore to like, uh, like try
[01:01:04] [SPEAKER_04]: and like play for the second game.
[01:01:07] [SPEAKER_04]: Christian Hubicki hasn't played twice.
[01:01:09] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.
[01:01:09] [SPEAKER_06]: I'm not saying play for the second game.
[01:01:11] [SPEAKER_06]: I'm just saying it's, it's best to be like one of the last people that they add to the
[01:01:14] [SPEAKER_06]: all-star cast and then, uh, he's that worried about you.
[01:01:18] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.
[01:01:18] [SPEAKER_04]: That tends to work out.
[01:01:19] [SPEAKER_06]: Yeah.
[01:01:20] [SPEAKER_06]: Okay.
[01:01:20] [SPEAKER_06]: I want to talk about some of the things that happened on the podcast, uh, this past,
[01:01:24] [SPEAKER_06]: uh, week, uh, 10 years prior.
[01:01:27] [SPEAKER_06]: Please.
[01:01:34] [SPEAKER_06]: Josh green and from Danielle, uh, who sent in some things about this, uh, this round
[01:01:42] [SPEAKER_06]: of podcasts that's happened on the 20, uh, the 22nd and the 23rd to spoil it.
[01:01:50] [SPEAKER_04]: Uh, coach, coach, coach was on the podcast.
[01:01:54] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.
[01:01:54] [SPEAKER_04]: Coach Wade.
[01:01:55] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.
[01:01:56] [SPEAKER_04]: Coach Wade was on, on the pod.
[01:01:58] [SPEAKER_04]: And, uh, if I'm remembering correctly, this isn't the treadmill, but I think he was
[01:02:04] [SPEAKER_04]: in a vehicle.
[01:02:06] [SPEAKER_04]: Was he in a car?
[01:02:07] [SPEAKER_06]: He was driving.
[01:02:09] [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
[01:02:11] [SPEAKER_06]: Yeah.
[01:02:12] [SPEAKER_03]: Mm-hmm.
[01:02:13] [SPEAKER_06]: Okay.
[01:02:13] [SPEAKER_06]: All right.
[01:02:14] [SPEAKER_06]: 10 years later, we allowed to call that bullshit.
[01:02:18] [SPEAKER_06]: Don't do that.
[01:02:19] [SPEAKER_06]: I think that honestly, like if somebody did that podcast from while you're driving,
[01:02:23] [SPEAKER_06]: if somebody called into the podcast and was driving, I think we would celebrate it
[01:02:26] [SPEAKER_06]: now a little bit more.
[01:02:27] [SPEAKER_06]: You think so?
[01:02:28] [SPEAKER_06]: I think so.
[01:02:29] [SPEAKER_04]: At the time, very disrespectful.
[01:02:33] [SPEAKER_06]: Yeah.
[01:02:33] [SPEAKER_06]: What are you going to do?
[01:02:34] [SPEAKER_06]: Look at you.
[01:02:35] [SPEAKER_06]: Yeah.
[01:02:36] [SPEAKER_06]: Okay.
[01:02:36] [SPEAKER_06]: All right.
[01:02:37] [SPEAKER_06]: Let me talk about some things from the know-it-alls.
[01:02:39] [SPEAKER_06]: Okay.
[01:02:40] [SPEAKER_06]: Uh, Stephen Fishback ordered Chinese food.
[01:02:43] [SPEAKER_04]: Oh!
[01:02:44] [SPEAKER_04]: Yes.
[01:02:44] [SPEAKER_04]: And he had to go and answer the door at one point?
[01:02:47] [SPEAKER_04]: Wasn't it?
[01:02:48] [SPEAKER_04]: I think so.
[01:02:48] [SPEAKER_04]: He was like, uh, okay, just so everyone knows, I have sesame chicken on the way.
[01:02:53] [SPEAKER_06]: Stephen, according to Josh, uh, Josh Green, was very high on Josh Canfield in his
[01:02:59] [SPEAKER_06]: winter edit.
[01:03:00] [SPEAKER_04]: Yes.
[01:03:00] [SPEAKER_04]: This, this I also recall.
[01:03:02] [SPEAKER_06]: He was very high on Josh Canfield and also thought that, that Reed was going to be the
[01:03:07] [SPEAKER_04]: quitter.
[01:03:09] [SPEAKER_04]: Oh, right.
[01:03:09] [SPEAKER_04]: Cause we know a quit is coming.
[01:03:11] [SPEAKER_04]: Uh, that's right.
[01:03:12] [SPEAKER_04]: I forgot that there was like the super trailer that showed that.
[01:03:14] [SPEAKER_04]: Mm-hmm.
[01:03:15] [SPEAKER_04]: Um, look at this, at this point, like, uh, at this moment that we were watching Survivor
[01:03:20] [SPEAKER_04]: without future knowledge of anything.
[01:03:22] [SPEAKER_04]: Uh, like, I think like really even here, five episodes in, it feels like two people can win.
[01:03:28] [SPEAKER_04]: And it's like Josh and Jeremy is what it kind of feels like.
[01:03:31] [SPEAKER_06]: Shaping up a real prof X versus Magneto situation.
[01:03:35] [SPEAKER_06]: Prof X.
[01:03:36] [SPEAKER_06]: Cool.
[01:03:36] [SPEAKER_06]: Yes.
[01:03:37] [SPEAKER_06]: Okay.
[01:03:37] [SPEAKER_06]: Um, according to Danielle, she says that Stephen is all in on Josh and his winter edit.
[01:03:44] [SPEAKER_06]: Thinks he's the best.
[01:03:45] [SPEAKER_06]: Rob is not all in, but mostly because he can't get over him and Reed waiting until marriage.
[01:03:50] [SPEAKER_06]: Uh-huh.
[01:03:52] [SPEAKER_06]: 2014, Rob.
[01:03:53] [SPEAKER_06]: That was out of pocket.
[01:03:55] [SPEAKER_06]: Yeah.
[01:03:55] [SPEAKER_06]: That's how, that sounds like 2014, Rob.
[01:03:58] [SPEAKER_06]: Look, love is love.
[01:04:01] [SPEAKER_06]: Like, uh, let them, let them live, Rob.
[01:04:04] [SPEAKER_06]: Okay.
[01:04:04] [SPEAKER_06]: Let them live.
[01:04:06] [SPEAKER_04]: Let them live.
[01:04:06] [SPEAKER_04]: Let them do what they want.
[01:04:07] [SPEAKER_04]: Okay.
[01:04:08] [SPEAKER_04]: Uh, yes.
[01:04:08] [SPEAKER_04]: We are live on YouTube.
[01:04:10] [SPEAKER_04]: Russ W says, oh dear.
[01:04:12] [SPEAKER_06]: Um, also Danielle mentions, uh, Josh has this too, that speaking of marriage, Stephen and
[01:04:19] [SPEAKER_06]: Rob want a love story between Missy and farm guy 69 and develop a whole movie.
[01:04:23] [SPEAKER_06]: Uh, it's called exile Island for them.
[01:04:27] [SPEAKER_06]: It ends with Baylor and Kelly sharing a room.
[01:04:30] [SPEAKER_04]: Sounds like a horrible movie.
[01:04:33] [SPEAKER_07]: Mm-hmm.
[01:04:34] [SPEAKER_04]: All the movies we could make.
[01:04:38] [SPEAKER_04]: I do not stand this exile Island movie.
[01:04:42] [SPEAKER_04]: We will not be showing this in Philadelphia.
[01:04:44] [SPEAKER_04]: Okay.
[01:04:45] [SPEAKER_04]: Yep.
[01:04:45] [SPEAKER_06]: Um, also then, uh, Stephen referred to Jeremy's everything going great for me as pulling a Marty
[01:04:52] [SPEAKER_06]: Piambo.
[01:04:54] [SPEAKER_04]: In, uh, how does, how does he figure?
[01:04:57] [SPEAKER_06]: I think Stephen will talk about Marty Piambo a lot from time to time.
[01:05:01] [SPEAKER_06]: Still?
[01:05:01] [SPEAKER_06]: More so in 2014.
[01:05:02] [SPEAKER_06]: Does he still bring up Marty Piambo?
[01:05:04] [SPEAKER_06]: Yeah.
[01:05:04] [SPEAKER_06]: I think he did recently.
[01:05:06] [SPEAKER_06]: In what context?
[01:05:07] [SPEAKER_06]: I think like, uh, saying like, uh, that he should be on survivor 50 maybe.
[01:05:12] [SPEAKER_06]: Uh, really?
[01:05:13] [SPEAKER_06]: I think so.
[01:05:14] [SPEAKER_04]: Okay.
[01:05:15] [SPEAKER_04]: Uh, then somebody who has fan cast Marty Piambo to be on a returning player seasons.
[01:05:20] [SPEAKER_04]: Mr.
[01:05:21] [SPEAKER_04]: Farty.
[01:05:22] [SPEAKER_04]: I do feel like, uh, we are, uh, Mr. Farty might not be Mr. 50.
[01:05:31] [SPEAKER_06]: Yeah.
[01:05:33] [SPEAKER_06]: Yeah.
[01:05:33] [SPEAKER_06]: Um, yeah.
[01:05:34] [SPEAKER_06]: What, what's his name again?
[01:05:35] [SPEAKER_06]: Mr.
[01:05:36] [SPEAKER_06]: What?
[01:05:36] [SPEAKER_06]: Fart.
[01:05:38] [SPEAKER_06]: Oh, yeah.
[01:05:40] [SPEAKER_06]: Mr.
[01:05:40] [SPEAKER_06]: Fart.
[01:05:41] [SPEAKER_06]: Yeah.
[01:05:43] [SPEAKER_06]: So, Fart.
[01:05:44] [SPEAKER_06]: Josh went through and listened to the interview with coach, um, that he was very coach.
[01:05:51] [SPEAKER_06]: He was driving in his car the whole call and, uh, that, uh, Rob asked coach what he thought
[01:05:58] [SPEAKER_06]: about the season in the beginning.
[01:05:59] [SPEAKER_06]: And he immediately goes boring.
[01:06:06] [SPEAKER_06]: Yes.
[01:06:07] [SPEAKER_06]: But he compares it to, uh, taking a coaching job right after somebody won the national
[01:06:11] [SPEAKER_06]: championship.
[01:06:12] [SPEAKER_06]: Cause where would you go from there?
[01:06:13] [SPEAKER_06]: And he said that blood versus water and Kageyan was a real high point.
[01:06:17] [SPEAKER_04]: So just like tough act to follow is sort of his tough act to follow.
[01:06:21] [SPEAKER_04]: Yes.
[01:06:22] [SPEAKER_04]: Yes.
[01:06:23] [SPEAKER_04]: Okay.
[01:06:23] [SPEAKER_04]: Well, look, I can understand that in the real time.
[01:06:25] [SPEAKER_04]: Uh, you know, like the season is weird.
[01:06:28] [SPEAKER_04]: This season does not, uh, does not feel like those two seasons that you just meant.
[01:06:34] [SPEAKER_06]: And I think that last week was the, uh, what does, what does muffin think on the, uh, no
[01:06:41] [SPEAKER_06]: it all's.
[01:06:41] [SPEAKER_06]: Yeah.
[01:06:41] [SPEAKER_06]: So, uh, there's a lot of muffin talk.
[01:06:45] [SPEAKER_06]: Who's muffin.
[01:06:46] [SPEAKER_06]: Mm hmm.
[01:06:47] [SPEAKER_06]: Yes.
[01:06:47] [SPEAKER_06]: From, uh, Steven had, uh, some, some kind of a slip up called what does muffin think
[01:06:55] [SPEAKER_04]: though?
[01:06:55] [SPEAKER_04]: Who's muffin.
[01:06:56] [SPEAKER_04]: Who's muffin.
[01:06:56] [SPEAKER_04]: Muffin.
[01:06:57] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.
[01:06:57] [SPEAKER_04]: Why didn't he think her name was, did we ever find out why he thought her name was muffin?
[01:07:01] [SPEAKER_04]: I think it's, uh, nebulous.
[01:07:04] [SPEAKER_04]: Nebulous.
[01:07:04] [SPEAKER_04]: Even a decade later.
[01:07:06] [SPEAKER_04]: Yep.
[01:07:06] [SPEAKER_04]: Wow.
[01:07:07] [SPEAKER_04]: Some mysteries, right?
[01:07:09] [SPEAKER_04]: Some mysteries.
[01:07:10] [SPEAKER_04]: Let the mystery be.
[01:07:11] [SPEAKER_04]: All right.
[01:07:13] [SPEAKER_06]: Josh, what else?
[01:07:16] [SPEAKER_06]: Gosh, we're getting pretty close.
[01:07:18] [SPEAKER_06]: Oh, sorry.
[01:07:18] [SPEAKER_06]: Also.
[01:07:18] [SPEAKER_06]: And then Mike Bloom was, I mean, his first voicemails appearance, I believe.
[01:07:22] [SPEAKER_04]: Yes.
[01:07:23] [SPEAKER_04]: This is Mike's voicemails debut?
[01:07:25] [SPEAKER_06]: Mike's voicemails debut.
[01:07:28] [SPEAKER_06]: Although, uh, Josh says that, uh, Mike sounded a lot less energetic than he sounds these days,
[01:07:33] [SPEAKER_06]: but we had great chemistry.
[01:07:34] [SPEAKER_04]: Okay.
[01:07:35] [SPEAKER_04]: He was probably nervous.
[01:07:36] [SPEAKER_04]: Mm hmm.
[01:07:36] [SPEAKER_04]: He was, you know, like a freshly anointed survivor historian at this point in time.
[01:07:44] [SPEAKER_04]: Mike Bloom is at the beginning of an ongoing meteoric rise himself.
[01:07:51] [SPEAKER_04]: Yes.
[01:07:51] [SPEAKER_04]: Uh, so for Mike to.
[01:07:54] [SPEAKER_04]: He was the Kelly Wentworth of the moment.
[01:07:55] [SPEAKER_04]: Exactly.
[01:07:56] [SPEAKER_04]: For him to show up on the Kelly Wentworth podcast on the Kelly Wentworth boot episode when Kelly
[01:08:01] [SPEAKER_04]: Wentworth was a nothing.
[01:08:02] [SPEAKER_04]: And little Mike Bloom is like, I don't know.
[01:08:05] [SPEAKER_04]: I don't know what to say.
[01:08:07] [SPEAKER_04]: I'm nervous.
[01:08:08] [SPEAKER_04]: And now look at him.
[01:08:10] [SPEAKER_04]: Frickin star.
[01:08:12] [SPEAKER_07]: Mm hmm.
[01:08:13] [SPEAKER_04]: My star.
[01:08:16] [SPEAKER_04]: Love that guy.
[01:08:18] [SPEAKER_06]: Yeah.
[01:08:19] [SPEAKER_06]: All right.
[01:08:20] [SPEAKER_06]: Love that man.
[01:08:22] [SPEAKER_06]: Yes.
[01:08:22] [SPEAKER_06]: All right.
[01:08:25] [SPEAKER_06]: Also, uh, coach was kind of pro John Rocker, according to, uh, Josh Green.
[01:08:32] [SPEAKER_06]: So there you go.
[01:08:34] [SPEAKER_06]: Shocked.
[01:08:34] [SPEAKER_04]: Mm hmm.
[01:08:35] [SPEAKER_04]: Shocked.
[01:08:36] [SPEAKER_04]: John Shucker.
[01:08:37] [SPEAKER_06]: Yeah.
[01:08:37] [SPEAKER_06]: All right.
[01:08:38] [SPEAKER_06]: So next week, we'll talk about the final pre-merge episode of Survivor San Juan Nilser.
[01:08:44] [SPEAKER_06]: In which Dale Wentworth is going to say, I have a hidden immunity idol.
[01:08:49] [SPEAKER_04]: He's going to try to play that.
[01:08:51] [SPEAKER_04]: It's like, uh, it's true.
[01:08:55] [SPEAKER_03]: I've got one.
[01:08:57] [SPEAKER_06]: I have an idol.
[01:08:59] [SPEAKER_06]: Yeah.
[01:08:59] [SPEAKER_06]: You and I, in the meantime, we'll head to Philadelphia for a screening of our, of our
[01:09:04] [SPEAKER_06]: HAP first documentary talking about Survivor Kageon.
[01:09:09] [SPEAKER_04]: Come hang out with us.
[01:09:11] [SPEAKER_04]: Uh, I was, uh, too overwhelmed to go out to a crowd of a thousand, you know, plus baby
[01:09:17] [SPEAKER_04]: steps people, uh, in New York.
[01:09:20] [SPEAKER_04]: But, uh, Philadelphia promises to be a bit more of an intimate affair, uh, to gather
[01:09:24] [SPEAKER_04]: together to watch the Survivor Kageon documentary.
[01:09:27] [SPEAKER_04]: And so this will be my first RHAP event appearance since 2019.
[01:09:31] [SPEAKER_04]: Uh, so I'm very excited.
[01:09:33] [SPEAKER_04]: Uh, so if you want to come hang out with me, with Rob, with all of the people who are
[01:09:38] [SPEAKER_04]: going to be in Philly watching the Survivor Kageon documentary, uh, go check it out.
[01:09:43] [SPEAKER_04]: I think that the ticket link, uh, still works.
[01:09:46] [SPEAKER_04]: Uh, Rob has a website.com slash Kageon screening.
[01:09:51] [SPEAKER_04]: Uh, so go to Rob has a website.com slash Kageon screening.
[01:09:55] [SPEAKER_04]: If you want to come to the thing.
[01:09:57] [SPEAKER_04]: Uh, and if you can't, because it is short notice, uh, potentially for people who are like
[01:10:02] [SPEAKER_04]: across the world and stuff, uh, you'll be able to watch the movie in a week's time.
[01:10:09] [SPEAKER_04]: Mm-hmm.
[01:10:10] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.
[01:10:10] [SPEAKER_04]: But next week on the podcast, when Rob and I get back together, we'll have, I'm sure,
[01:10:13] [SPEAKER_04]: uh, lots of, uh, fun anecdotes from, uh, getting to, to spend some time together.
[01:10:18] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.
[01:10:18] [SPEAKER_06]: Can I, uh, bring up something that, uh, involves another Survivor Second Chances, Kelly?
[01:10:24] [SPEAKER_06]: Yeah, of course.
[01:10:25] [SPEAKER_04]: Absolutely.
[01:10:26] [SPEAKER_04]: Yes.
[01:10:26] [SPEAKER_06]: Yeah.
[01:10:27] [SPEAKER_06]: So, um, I, I saw this, you know,
[01:10:30] [SPEAKER_06]: Wigglesworth, uh, Kelly Wigglesworth.
[01:10:35] [SPEAKER_06]: Yeah.
[01:10:36] [SPEAKER_06]: Look what they did to Kelly Wigglesworth.
[01:10:38] [SPEAKER_06]: Mm-hmm.
[01:10:39] [SPEAKER_06]: Okay.
[01:10:40] [SPEAKER_06]: So, um, EW talks about, um, I saw this headline today on the, you know, TV that has like our
[01:10:49] [SPEAKER_06]: family calendar on it.
[01:10:50] [SPEAKER_06]: And then also shares some headlines from EW, uh, which, uh, I was like, I had to do a
[01:10:56] [SPEAKER_06]: double take, uh, when I saw this one that says original Survivor contestant Kelly Wigglesworth
[01:11:02] [SPEAKER_06]: speaks out on claims she cheated in exclusive clip.
[01:11:07] [SPEAKER_06]: Whoa.
[01:11:09] [SPEAKER_06]: Yeah.
[01:11:09] [SPEAKER_06]: This is from Entertainment Weekly.
[01:11:11] [SPEAKER_06]: Yes.
[01:11:12] [SPEAKER_06]: That they have a clip, uh, that I've not seen the clip.
[01:11:15] [SPEAKER_06]: Yeah.
[01:11:15] [SPEAKER_06]: An exclusive clip from the upcoming episode of Vice's Dark Side of Reality TV, uh, that,
[01:11:21] [SPEAKER_06]: uh, Kelly Wigglesworth, uh, explained something that happened.
[01:11:25] [SPEAKER_06]: She said that somebody threw a power bar on the ground right at my feet.
[01:11:29] [SPEAKER_06]: She said, and Richard saw it.
[01:11:31] [SPEAKER_06]: Wow.
[01:11:31] [SPEAKER_06]: Now I've heard urban legend of this.
[01:11:34] [SPEAKER_06]: Uh, and then, um, Richard Hatch, uh, says it's all a BS game, says Hatch.
[01:11:44] [SPEAKER_06]: Yeah.
[01:11:45] [SPEAKER_06]: Walked away with a million dollars.
[01:11:46] [SPEAKER_06]: They interviewed Joel Klug for this?
[01:11:49] [SPEAKER_06]: Joel Klug says I think it was a power bar, but if you're like, where was he during all
[01:11:52] [SPEAKER_06]: this?
[01:11:52] [SPEAKER_06]: He was like, uh, deep at Ponderosa.
[01:11:56] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.
[01:11:57] [SPEAKER_04]: Like, uh, is that a figure of speech?
[01:11:59] [SPEAKER_04]: Mm-hmm.
[01:12:00] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.
[01:12:00] [SPEAKER_04]: Joel was deep at Ponderosa.
[01:12:01] [SPEAKER_06]: Sure was.
[01:12:02] [SPEAKER_06]: Mm-hmm.
[01:12:02] [SPEAKER_06]: Still is.
[01:12:03] [SPEAKER_06]: Yeah.
[01:12:04] [SPEAKER_06]: But, uh, so, yeah, the dark side of reality TV is going to be on Vice.
[01:12:10] [SPEAKER_03]: Okay.
[01:12:11] [SPEAKER_06]: Uh, do we have, uh.
[01:12:12] [SPEAKER_06]: Kelly Wigglesworth is pushing back.
[01:12:14] [SPEAKER_06]: Do we have, uh, coverage plans of this?
[01:12:17] [SPEAKER_06]: I don't know how to watch something on Vice.
[01:12:20] [SPEAKER_04]: I'm sure we can get that out.
[01:12:22] [SPEAKER_06]: Yeah.
[01:12:23] [SPEAKER_06]: All right.
[01:12:24] [SPEAKER_06]: Well, we'll see.
[01:12:25] [SPEAKER_06]: Certainly, uh, any headlines, uh, we will, uh, be sure to check out.
[01:12:30] [SPEAKER_06]: Okay.
[01:12:30] [SPEAKER_04]: All right.
[01:12:31] [SPEAKER_04]: There you go.
[01:12:32] [SPEAKER_04]: What a great time, folks.
[01:12:33] [SPEAKER_04]: We haven't, are we having fun yet?
[01:12:37] [SPEAKER_06]: Sure.
[01:12:37] [SPEAKER_04]: Right?
[01:12:38] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.
[01:12:38] [SPEAKER_06]: Yeah.
[01:12:39] [SPEAKER_06]: I mean, bro's gone, but, uh, we have, we have a, we have a lot.
[01:12:44] [SPEAKER_06]: We have a lot.
[01:12:44] [SPEAKER_05]: Right now, I am in a tight situation because I don't have an idol.
[01:12:48] [SPEAKER_05]: I don't have anything.
[01:12:50] [SPEAKER_05]: I am just lying.
[01:12:56] [SPEAKER_06]: I am just lying.
[01:12:58] [SPEAKER_06]: Okay.
[01:12:59] [SPEAKER_06]: All right.
[01:12:59] [SPEAKER_06]: Thank you so much for joining us.
[01:13:01] [SPEAKER_06]: Uh, we'll be back next week to talk more.
[01:13:03] [SPEAKER_06]: Take care of a good one.
[01:13:04] [SPEAKER_06]: Bye.
[01:13:05] [SPEAKER_06]: Bye.
