[00:02:57] Hi everybody and welcome back to the Survivor 50 wishlist

[00:03:02] an off-season Survivor podcast series

[00:03:04] that is going to bring together a list of who could and should come back for Survivor 50.

[00:03:11] My name is Mike Bloom and we are unearthing a season

[00:03:15] much like the pet cemetery that resides outside certain caves in Thailand

[00:03:21] for Survivor Thailand, the fifth season of Survivor.

[00:03:26] You can't spell 50 without five and we shall see how many of these season 5 contestants will fit into season 50.

[00:03:33] Of course, I am not alone here.

[00:03:35] I could not talk about Thailand without this.

[00:03:38] I would say Thai man, but that does not feel to be an appropriate descriptor in so many ways.

[00:03:43] But of course you have heard him on a recurring basis covering Survivor on the YX Lost podcast,

[00:03:50] but perhaps more applicable to the season we're talking about today formerly of a reality news online.

[00:03:55] It is deemed comparable David Bloomberg.

[00:03:58] Hey David. Hi.

[00:03:59] Thank you.

[00:04:00] Thank you. So just as a quick review, this will be the last episode of the first week of podcast.

[00:04:06] Be the last time I'm doing any of these disclaimers,

[00:04:08] but for those that happen to fancy in during the Thailand portion of this entire project,

[00:04:15] first off good for you.

[00:04:17] You may be some of the most unique people I've ever heard of in my life.

[00:04:21] But what this basically is is that we are trying to do a thought experiment of,

[00:04:24] you know, Survivor 50 is coming up.

[00:04:26] They're all returnees.

[00:04:27] We have to figure out right now by the end of this summer who could and should be in the cast for this season.

[00:04:34] And so what this experiment entails is that every weekday I am coming to you with someone from the RHAP

[00:04:41] network to talk about a season of the show and really analyze what are the chances either from a memorability perspective

[00:04:48] of behind-the-scenes perspective, a desire perspective,

[00:04:51] etc. That people from this cast would want to come back for a season 50.

[00:04:56] Our goal is by the end of that podcast to create a bit of a short list of candidates,

[00:05:02] you know, one to a few not several people that we would want to put on our ballot at the end of this great experiment for season 50.

[00:05:10] Everyone will get thrown into one big fan vote at the end of this once we're done with all 46 seasons.

[00:05:17] And then from there we do what we do here in America,

[00:05:20] hopefully and we vote and we determine from there who will be the fan voted cast of a Survivor 50.

[00:05:27] The hopes is it gets in front of the eyes of maybe some people that can make decisions as to who does get cast on Survivor 50.

[00:05:33] Otherwise, it's just a fun experiment, David, to go back to Survivor history again.

[00:05:37] Yeah. And you know, it is fun to look back in Survivor history.

[00:05:42] So even even some parts of Thailand,

[00:05:46] maybe not the parts that were on TV, but other parts of Thailand, like, you know, I've got my audience badge here from there.

[00:05:53] That was, you know, my first first finale that I attended.

[00:05:59] So well, if you want to check out this series again, we are going to be coming to you every weekday with the exception of some holidays.

[00:06:07] I will be dropping in your feeds at 6 a.m.

[00:06:10] Eastern in the morning. And then if you want to check out the video version, which you can at Rob has a website dot com slash YouTube.

[00:06:16] We'll also be dropping the video versions at 10 a.m.

[00:06:19] And of course, make sure you subscribe to not only this podcast series, but all the Survivor stuff we have going on at Rob has a website dot com slash Survivor feed.

[00:06:29] David, let's talk Thailand here, because look, the fact of the matter is across 46 seasons of Survivor.

[00:06:36] We have had a returnee one returnee from Survivor Thailand.

[00:06:43] And it was within the show's first eight seasons where there were only seven seasons to pick between four 18 spots.

[00:06:50] So look, for the formality of this experiment sake, we are going to leave this podcast with at least one person to put into this poll.

[00:06:58] But just between us and a few thousands of our closest friends, what do you think realistically are the chances a Thailand cast member would be in contention for season 50?

[00:07:10] What did Jeff tell Spencer? His chances of winning were.

[00:07:14] And it could be as wrong about it as he was about Spencer.

[00:07:16] That's true. That's true. But yeah, I think it's about zero point zero percent.

[00:07:23] I mean, I do think there's one person who could get some of the some of our vote, some of the R.H.P. vote, whether they come back again or not, which, oops, I said again, which kind of gives it away.

[00:07:37] Yeah, you know, that's another matter.

[00:07:41] But. You know, I mean, Jeff, it's interesting because as I went back through some of the information about this, even.

[00:07:52] Fairly soon after, like just a few seasons after this aired, he was openly saying negative things about it and about some of the players.

[00:08:05] And so. Now, have his views changed since then?

[00:08:12] Not based on what we've seen for the new era, that's for sure.

[00:08:15] If anything, they've gone even more in the negative direction, I would think.

[00:08:20] But I guess anything possible.

[00:08:23] Yeah. Depends on, you know, what exactly they might be looking for and who we're looking at today are the I would say 16 cast members of Survivor Thailand.

[00:08:34] But look, let me just get this out of the way, because you and I are going to break this down sort of in phases.

[00:08:40] I'm just going to like do the formality of saying that there were a top two in Survivor Thailand, but we could sort of move past it because one of them is deceased and one of them killed a dog.

[00:08:53] Yeah, I mean, that pretty much sums it up.

[00:08:57] I mean, again, Brian, once again, Jeff was outwardly saying that his game was so sleazy that you felt like you needed a shower after watching him play, you know, and then in the game from both of them, we saw sexist comments.

[00:09:16] There he was.

[00:09:16] Brian was the only Thailand player not to attend the Survivor 10 year anniversary party.

[00:09:22] How interesting.

[00:09:23] I went to the Amazon finale and found a way, you know, to get into the parties that I learned after Thailand.

[00:09:35] You know, oh, it's not just the finale.

[00:09:36] There's parties, too.

[00:09:37] So you got to find a way in.

[00:09:39] And a lot of the cast were there.

[00:09:41] Brian was not.

[00:09:43] So I think right from the get go.

[00:09:47] Yeah, I mean, are we are we declaring it right off the bat for Brian here?

[00:09:53] Yes, absolutely.

[00:09:54] Yes, I'm firing that off like a crossbow shot.

[00:09:57] There's no way this man is coming back whatsoever to this show.

[00:10:01] Both the fact that, hey, he's a criminal and be also additional.

[00:10:06] The fact that I think Survivor is there's a very good chance they don't really want anything to do with Thailand, given a lot of the negative stuff around it, given the fact that the strategy itself was a bit rote at that point, given the fact that maybe with a few exceptions that we're about to get into,

[00:10:22] you know, this cast doesn't necessarily pop in a certain way.

[00:10:25] And Brian was while a villain, I would not say a charismatic villain in the way that a Richard Hatch was four seasons prior.

[00:10:34] Yeah, Jeff refused to consider him for heroes versus villains.

[00:10:38] So if he wouldn't consider him for a season based on villains.

[00:10:45] I don't think we're having him come back now.

[00:10:49] All right, well, let's move on to some brighter prospects here.

[00:10:51] Let's talk about a little brighter prospects because they wore golden merge buffs.

[00:10:56] It's the people who made the merge with one exception.

[00:10:59] Let's talk about the jury of Survivor Thailand.

[00:11:02] So we have it. There we go.

[00:11:03] There's that chewy guy buff we know and love.

[00:11:06] So in reverse order of finish, we have Jan, Helen, Ted, Jake, Penny, Ken and Aaron.

[00:11:17] Of course, the last four members being part of the Sukjayi culling that extended with the fake merge that we'll get into.

[00:11:23] And then, of course, three members of Chewy gone.

[00:11:27] I'm going to start to dip around here, David, and talk about some likelihoods here.

[00:11:31] Maybe we can gloss over other people if we want to.

[00:11:35] Let me talk about someone who I do think could, if there was anybody to pick out of Thailand, could stand a chance of showing up.

[00:11:43] And I'm just going to bring up a picture here to talk about her because I think you have a personal touch with her.

[00:11:51] Let's talk about Helen.

[00:11:53] Yeah, let's talk about Helen Glover, the fourth place finisher.

[00:11:57] I would say, granted, it's a bit of a low bar, but a standout of Survivor Thailand.

[00:12:03] Both in, you know, her kind of dry way of talking through the game, infamously her storyline with Jan when they paddled out,

[00:12:11] couldn't find their way back to shore.

[00:12:13] Instead, if she had a gun, she'd shoot Jan first and herself second.

[00:12:16] And then she ends her Survivor career at the moment on a really interesting note in that she was bringing that Suhawk energy for the first time in a couple of seasons where she gives some pretty infamous final words, break a leg.

[00:12:29] I mean it clearly very angry at Brian in particular for the betrayal at the final four.

[00:12:34] Does still vote for him.

[00:12:36] But David, what do you think your chance the chances are of whatever Helen's involvement might be from either side?

[00:12:45] I mean, it's probably not a good chance.

[00:12:48] You know, I mean, Jeff also said that these were the least likable final four ever.

[00:12:56] Now, I do think that was heavily balanced with the two that we saw already because I don't think Helen was unlikable.

[00:13:04] And we'll talk about Jan.

[00:13:06] I don't think Jan was unlikable.

[00:13:09] So I do think Helen, she's 69 now.

[00:13:16] Nice.

[00:13:17] But I bet she's a badass for her age.

[00:13:22] So I wouldn't mind seeing her again now that she in theory could have watched all this time of Survivor and understand more of the game and that you don't just trust Brian

[00:13:34] or whoever.

[00:13:37] I don't think it's very likely, though.

[00:13:40] I mean, yeah, we are really kind of grading this on a curve, right?

[00:13:43] Because as we talked about, it's unlikely that any of these people make it on.

[00:13:46] But that's the entire purpose of this survey as well is that again, it's a wish list.

[00:13:50] Maybe there's some people that would be looked over by production that we want to shine a spotlight on.

[00:13:55] So to your point about what her opinion is, so Helen was on talking with T-Bird.

[00:14:00] Granted, this was five years ago, May 30th, actually to the day that we're actually recording this.

[00:14:05] Wow.

[00:14:06] 2019.

[00:14:08] First off, to your point about Helen is certainly up there.

[00:14:12] How's she doing?

[00:14:13] You know, she certainly did not provide a visual, but she said that she's like going on hikes all the time.

[00:14:18] I believe she resided in Hawaii at the time that she was filming this.

[00:14:22] She had recently retired alongside her husband, Jim, who we saw on Survivor Thailand or another great Helen moment when she essentially like

[00:14:30] bullied her husband to win the loved ones challenge so she could he could visit the camp.

[00:14:35] But when asked about if she'd want to come back, she did say yes.

[00:14:39] I mean, she has claimed that she was in the running for all stars.

[00:14:43] And so it was something that she clearly wanted to do.

[00:14:46] Now look, she was feeling okay with the idols and stuff.

[00:14:49] It wasn't necessarily like an aversion, which does also imply that she had been watching Survivor maybe on and off, but still up to that point on a recurring basis.

[00:14:58] I don't know if she necessarily would be the person to blanch at the structure of a new era, assuming that continues into Survivor 50.

[00:15:06] It seemed at least she was kind of comfortable with the happy medium of like the late 30s of Survivor.

[00:15:11] Yeah.

[00:15:13] Yeah.

[00:15:13] I mean, you know, like I said, I think out of the.

[00:15:18] Final four, she would be my top pick, you know, that's not saying much.

[00:15:24] I know, I know.

[00:15:28] I'm not quite out of the jury, but out of the four, I mean, you know.

[00:15:36] Just to move a little bit to Jan, Jan's Jan 75.

[00:15:41] I don't see her coming back.

[00:15:42] She was not exactly really in the game to begin with.

[00:15:49] So.

[00:15:51] I would say Helen is our best bet out of the final four, though, like you said, low bar.

[00:15:57] Yeah, I think Helen also with all the love to Jan, Jan clearly was not necessarily someone who had their head in the game for strategy.

[00:16:05] I think she was more so seen as kind of like the kooky character of the game.

[00:16:10] Helen, I mean, she makes this big decision point that we might get into in a little bit with obviously flipping on Gandia

[00:16:16] and had some decision points that she was making specifically towards the end of the game.

[00:16:22] So there's some there there to Helen.

[00:16:24] I think more so out of any of these three chewing gums that would be arguably up for debate.

[00:16:30] Yeah, no, I totally agree.

[00:16:32] Any suit guys stick out to you here between Jake, basically Jake and the children with the young tribe he drafted in Penny, Ken and Aaron?

[00:16:41] Well, Jake himself is now 82.

[00:16:44] So, yeah, I mean, I don't really know anything about him, you know, at this point.

[00:16:51] But 82. Seems like a fairly advanced age to be coming back and doing new era survivor.

[00:17:00] Yeah, I would imagine that's not necessarily what you want to do with your time at the age of 82.

[00:17:05] Yeah, the one that I would well, there I have a couple one that I think is the most likely of the group and one that would be more interesting.

[00:17:15] The most likely I think would be Ken.

[00:17:18] Oh, interesting.

[00:17:19] Yeah, he's he's only 51 at this point.

[00:17:23] He was a solid guy back then.

[00:17:25] He would obviously need to up his game.

[00:17:28] But if he's been paying attention, he's had over 20 years for that.

[00:17:32] Yeah, and I do believe, you know, obviously he was a big threat at the time.

[00:17:37] I think also he ends up playing in 2002, which was, you know, 9-11 support of the boys in blue was an all time high.

[00:17:45] And this was like an NYC cop.

[00:17:46] And so, you know, certainly there is that sort of bellwether support that he had in the moment.

[00:17:52] I do feel like if you're listing out the cast members of Survivor Thailand, I don't know.

[00:17:58] Ken might rank in the double digits, if not low double digits.

[00:18:02] So I think lack of memorability would be the thing to really detract from his returning chances.

[00:18:07] I mean, I remember him for a couple reasons.

[00:18:10] One, I met him at one point.

[00:18:13] Two, you know, just the whole situation that we'll get to with Sheehan,

[00:18:18] the role he played in that.

[00:18:21] So that's mostly why I remember him.

[00:18:24] Now, the other person that I would be out of this group more interested in seeing,

[00:18:31] but I think is less likely, especially due to the memorability issue, is Penny.

[00:18:37] Oh, OK.

[00:18:38] She is my underdog pick because she and described her at one point as the most manipulative.

[00:18:44] And she was actually trying to play the game until Chewy gone took complete control.

[00:18:51] But then the problem was once they took complete control, we never saw Penny again, essentially.

[00:18:57] I mean, I just rewatched it.

[00:19:00] It was like she disappeared.

[00:19:01] Yeah, clearly.

[00:19:02] So I.

[00:19:05] I rewatched it.

[00:19:07] For the survivor countdown, when we did that, that was just a few years ago,

[00:19:14] and as I was rewatching now, I had forgotten Penny, so that's not a good sign.

[00:19:19] I mean, listen, pennies are often forgotten in change in survivor seasons.

[00:19:24] Yes.

[00:19:25] So like I said, if we were just going on,

[00:19:30] it would be interesting to see her play again, considering she was actually,

[00:19:34] you know, trying to play at the time.

[00:19:37] Then, yeah, I would I would say her.

[00:19:40] I would imagine that if we actually put her in the poll,

[00:19:44] people would scroll through and be like, who?

[00:19:47] Yes. They think this is some sort of AI constructed survivor player.

[00:19:51] I mean, also the fact that she was clearly supposed to be cast as like

[00:19:54] Nolia 2.0 or I guess at this point, like Colleen 4.0.

[00:19:58] And so it just kind of blend together a bit.

[00:20:00] Well, I think that was Aaron, because Jeff said on the very cringey

[00:20:04] reunion that she was supposed to be the hot girl of the season.

[00:20:08] Ah, yes, yes, yes.

[00:20:09] And as far as we know from Bryant Gumbel, though, I don't Jenna Lewis

[00:20:13] could have been the hot girl on Survivor Bordeaux as well.

[00:20:16] Depends on beauty is in the eye of the beholder, David.

[00:20:19] Yes, yes.

[00:20:20] Well, let us move into our prejury here,

[00:20:23] which might have a couple more interesting faces to talk about.

[00:20:26] Of course, in reverse order finish, we have the aforementioned Sheehan

[00:20:30] Rob, but two bees guys, two bees.

[00:20:32] Yes, Stephanie Ghandia, Jed, Tanya.

[00:20:37] And this is we're not getting pastored.

[00:20:39] It is John Raymond.

[00:20:41] But we got to start with, as has been mentioned before so far,

[00:20:46] the only returnee from Survivor Thailand.

[00:20:50] David, it's time to descend to hell.

[00:20:52] Let's talk about the she devil.

[00:20:53] Yes, yes.

[00:20:55] And this is a great picture of me, by the way.

[00:20:57] But yeah, I think a good picture of Shia.

[00:21:00] I mean, listen, selfie technology in 2002 was not where it is now.

[00:21:04] You're doing the best you could.

[00:21:05] Yeah, this was a, you know, a very new and expensive digital camera at the time.

[00:21:09] Oh, nice.

[00:21:11] But yeah, I mean, I have to advocate for Sheehan.

[00:21:18] She was the first person to quote my rules on TV

[00:21:23] when she was voted out and she said, you know, that she made the error

[00:21:27] of plotting and scheming too much.

[00:21:30] And, you know, then I fell off my couch.

[00:21:34] Oh, that's a that's an acceleration from Sari got off the couch.

[00:21:37] You fell off the couch.

[00:21:39] I was not expecting that.

[00:21:42] And, you know, then, of course, she had other memorable lines

[00:21:46] like you do not mess with the devil and not get the horns,

[00:21:50] you know, not to mention what we saw of her on All-Stars,

[00:21:53] which I'm sure you'll talk about.

[00:21:55] People, stupid, stupid people.

[00:21:56] Yes. And so she is 100 percent my my number one pick.

[00:22:04] She obviously studied my I later found out,

[00:22:06] studied my rules before going out there, which, by the way, Helen told me

[00:22:11] at some point she did, too.

[00:22:12] So, OK, another point in her favor.

[00:22:15] There's going to be a Bloomberg sanctions shortlist here.

[00:22:17] Yes. Yes. And so, you know, I don't know that she'd want to come back again.

[00:22:23] She may well say my life is fine, but I would want to see her back.

[00:22:28] She is my number one pick for the season.

[00:22:31] Yeah. So to that point, Sheehan also did a talking with T-Bird interview.

[00:22:36] I want to say that was also in 2019.

[00:22:40] Let me check really quick.

[00:22:42] Yep. September 19, 2019.

[00:22:46] So she and I don't believe she was as caught up with the show

[00:22:50] as somebody like Helen, but she said this here, and I believe

[00:22:54] she said it in her quarantine questionnaire as well with Dalton Ross

[00:22:57] a couple of years later when asked if she would go back.

[00:22:59] She was very up in the air.

[00:23:02] She was very much like, listen, you know, on the one hand,

[00:23:06] I don't know if I would want to go hungry again.

[00:23:08] On the other hand, like if it's in the right place, if it's in Fiji,

[00:23:12] maybe I wouldn't mind going.

[00:23:14] And so I think on this podcast, David, we really try to take

[00:23:17] if they don't say no, then we're going to essentially include them

[00:23:20] in the running here.

[00:23:22] Yeah. I also think I mean, she brought up and I was surprised

[00:23:26] when I was watching this to see Survivor actually airing

[00:23:30] the fact that she brought up her treatment as a minority.

[00:23:33] Yeah, well, she and of course the first Asian-American contestant

[00:23:36] on Survivor.

[00:23:37] And so I maybe she would look at the changes that have been made

[00:23:43] and say, wow, I won't be the only one out there.

[00:23:47] Yeah, that's true as well.

[00:23:48] Certainly, I think felt very minoritized by her tribe in particular

[00:23:53] where she was the only minority.

[00:23:54] And so, yeah, I mean, she and certainly brought it in all stars.

[00:23:58] You know, this is a podcast that Robin I will get into later on.

[00:24:01] I wouldn't say obviously she and was the biggest question mark

[00:24:04] in terms of casting in all stars.

[00:24:06] It was more so a like at least my my feeling in the moment

[00:24:10] was a bit like I get it, but also is a bit of penance for like,

[00:24:13] sorry, we screwed you with the whole Merch twist.

[00:24:16] Here's an all star spot.

[00:24:17] Yeah, we were saying that at the time we were absolutely like,

[00:24:20] oh, OK, that's why I mean, obviously I loved it.

[00:24:23] But you know, the the biggest question mark on all stars

[00:24:28] was the winner.

[00:24:29] So yeah.

[00:24:31] So that being said, she did make a good cutting through the game.

[00:24:36] She contributes to what I would say is one of the few spots of positivity,

[00:24:40] specifically in that post merge when she wins, when it rains, it pours.

[00:24:44] And basically, yes, I'm not going home, you know, infamously after beating Rupert

[00:24:48] there, she still does become the last person from her alliance standing,

[00:24:53] but still makes a pretty good, you know, cut into the game in sixth place.

[00:24:58] And hell, she gets a car out of it, too, David.

[00:25:00] Yeah. Yeah.

[00:25:02] So and if only they would have listened to her,

[00:25:04] if only the stupid, stupid people would have listened.

[00:25:07] She even described the eye color of the person that she was looking

[00:25:11] to vote for that night.

[00:25:12] She held up a big red flag for those green eyes that the person I'm voting for

[00:25:16] will win this game.

[00:25:17] And for many reasons, they were not necessarily focused on that.

[00:25:21] And she had paid it forward by paying Amber a million dollars

[00:25:25] by being that fourth vote for her to win.

[00:25:27] Yeah. Yeah.

[00:25:29] So, yeah.

[00:25:29] What how do you think she would do in a modern survivor setting?

[00:25:33] Oh, that's a good question.

[00:25:36] I mean, I think she is and I don't remember all the details

[00:25:40] about her current job and everything, but I think even in her job,

[00:25:45] she was very people oriented type of person.

[00:25:48] And so I also think she has probably learned

[00:25:53] to pull the horns back a little bit.

[00:25:57] And so but they're there, you know, and so.

[00:26:02] I think she could.

[00:26:05] I think she would be a postmortem.

[00:26:07] I also think that, listen, we talked about this with Jerry,

[00:26:10] like the sliding scale of villainy is definitely prevalent.

[00:26:14] Like look at what she did in the early 2000s

[00:26:17] of what would constitute what made her the she devil.

[00:26:20] And it really is just child's play compared to what Corrine said

[00:26:26] about her fellow cast members as an example.

[00:26:29] So she might not even need to change her behavior that much,

[00:26:32] you know, like look at how snarky the cast of Survivor 46 was to each other.

[00:26:35] Right? Yes.

[00:26:37] And, you know, and most of most of her horns were aimed at people like Rob

[00:26:44] who deserved to get the horns, you know, I mean,

[00:26:49] if you were to ask me.

[00:26:51] Who is your absolute no way pick for the season?

[00:26:54] And I know we have a lot of possible options here,

[00:26:57] but eliminating the obvious ones, it would be Rob, you know,

[00:27:01] I mean he also the way he treated women the way he was condescending

[00:27:06] calling them sweetie and baby and, you know, practically strangled clay

[00:27:12] and then made fun of him.

[00:27:14] And I mean, yes, he he claimed he had become a better person through

[00:27:19] it at the reunion and all that.

[00:27:21] Ah baloney.

[00:27:22] I mean, maybe he is now 20 years later, but it's you know, no,

[00:27:27] I don't think there was ever a question.

[00:27:29] You probably weren't even going to mention his name necessarily,

[00:27:31] but no, no, we're on a different Rob has a podcast.

[00:27:34] Yeah, Rob with two B's has a podcast.

[00:27:36] It'd be a completely different animal.

[00:27:38] Oh, yeah.

[00:27:38] Yeah.

[00:27:41] Hey guys, it is Ryan.

[00:27:42] I'm not sure if you know this about me, but I'm a bit of a fun

[00:27:45] fanatic when I can.

[00:27:46] I like to work but I like fun too.

[00:28:41] terms and conditions apply.

[00:28:43] Well, the other name that I want to bring up here.

[00:28:46] I'd be remiss not to considering how much the bring back Gandhi

[00:28:51] against Jane has followed us from what I have gleaned David like

[00:28:56] from the the Twilight days of Survivor sucks over to Twitter now

[00:29:00] a bit probably bled into YouTube as well.

[00:29:03] Ghandi of course the fourth boot from this season unfortunately

[00:29:07] embroiled in one of the bigger controversies especially in retrospect

[00:29:11] what was a sort of unaffectionately referred to as Grindgate at

[00:29:15] the time which was the entire conflict between a Ghandi and Ted

[00:29:20] very very bad in retrospect just given everyone's reactions to it

[00:29:25] the way the show portrays it etc.

[00:29:28] And what I have been so happy about is that our JP has given Gandhi

[00:29:32] of these opportunities to put herself back in the spotlight.

[00:29:36] Not only did she do a talking with Tivert David.

[00:29:38] I didn't remember this until I looked it up.

[00:29:39] She was actually on a couple of feedback shows with Rob for Survivor

[00:29:43] 41 and 42.

[00:29:44] Yep.

[00:29:45] Yep.

[00:29:46] Yeah, she is, you know, right after she and she is my number to pick

[00:29:50] for a returnee this season.

[00:29:52] I mean just the way like I said rewatching it.

[00:29:55] She was so wronged in the edit and even worse in the reunion where

[00:30:00] I mean they just they piled it all on her, you know, Jeff keep it on

[00:30:05] Her basically and you know, yet she still loves the show.

[00:30:12] And so I say bring her back let her show what she can do and yeah,

[00:30:21] give her a chance.

[00:30:22] Yeah.

[00:30:23] I mean also she is an absolute firecracker.

[00:30:27] I seem to remember.

[00:30:28] I think she gets it on at least 190 day Beyonce podcast as well around

[00:30:33] the time that Robin Puglia were starting that up and she was just

[00:30:36] like absolutely on fire.

[00:30:38] Like she is that personality or when she talks on a podcast, you

[00:30:41] can understand why she got passed in the first place and unfortunately

[00:30:45] she kind of got thrown into this big situation that ended up not

[00:30:50] only passing a very negative Paul over her time in the game, but

[00:30:53] also kind of spelled her doom as well in the end much like they

[00:30:56] did not spell Gandhi on the parchment.

[00:30:58] Yeah, I mean it was there was nothing good about that situation.

[00:31:05] It was all handled poorly at the time even worse at the reunion.

[00:31:10] So, you know, yeah, bring her back give her some give her give her

[00:31:15] some redemption even just even if she goes out first vote.

[00:31:19] Yeah, she knows she knows the game clearly and especially she knows

[00:31:24] the new era which we certainly cannot say about some of the other

[00:31:27] people we are putting on this list.

[00:31:29] I mean the tough thing and what's going to come down to for our

[00:31:32] Shortlist is like this is incredibly unrealistic.

[00:31:36] Yeah, and what it's going to come down to with myself and my guests

[00:31:39] depending on what our sort of temperature is is like how much are

[00:31:43] we fan fictioning it?

[00:31:44] You know, Rob, you know turned down Sue and Colleen being on it

[00:31:49] because they would not be people that would get brought on for a

[00:31:52] season 50 Gandhi out definitely would not be I think between the

[00:31:55] fact that she was a premerger from a very early season who also has

[00:32:00] a controversy attached to her name that the show would rather not

[00:32:03] remember is three strikes and you're out.

[00:32:06] But David, how much do we want to make dreams come true right now?

[00:32:10] I think we put her on the list and we let the fans speak.

[00:32:17] And then we tag Jeff Probst and say look Jeff and then he ignores

[00:32:23] it because you know, he's Jeff but but I say we we we do it.

[00:32:28] All right, listen, you know, I'm here for the chaos.

[00:32:31] So I'll put I'll put Gandhi on the list.

[00:32:35] Why the hell not?

[00:32:36] You know, for the the 90 day fans out there, Gandhi Johnson on the list.

[00:32:42] She and I imagine we probably both would want on there as well.

[00:32:46] I think she would be probably the best returning from this season.

[00:32:50] I think the last one that would be up for grabs from my perspective

[00:32:54] would be Helen.

[00:32:56] You're forgetting one person.

[00:32:58] Oh, well, not person.

[00:32:59] One character, McGill with a monkey.

[00:33:02] Oh God, is that monkey?

[00:33:04] He's probably dead by now.

[00:33:05] I don't know.

[00:33:06] I didn't look up the lifespan.

[00:33:07] I didn't know exactly what David you're so good at your research.

[00:33:10] I know.

[00:33:11] I know.

[00:33:11] I mean, he wreaked havoc at camp.

[00:33:14] He stole food.

[00:33:15] He was definitely more fun than some of the cast members.

[00:33:19] What about Chewy Gal?

[00:33:21] Should they bring back Chewy Gal?

[00:33:22] We would have we did have the giant 500 pound gecko and survive.

[00:33:25] At 46, it kind of felt like Chewy Gal's pet.

[00:33:29] Let's go from Chewy Gal to Chewy Gal.

[00:33:30] What do you think?

[00:33:31] What's what is your pulse right now on if we should put Helen on the shortlist?

[00:33:37] I think that it is unlikely Helen will get many votes,

[00:33:42] but if we're putting a third person on, it's got to be Helen.

[00:33:49] That's a big if we don't need to.

[00:33:50] We can put forward, you know, only a couple or we can put forward

[00:33:55] a bunch.

[00:33:56] I don't think we'll go that far.

[00:33:58] I think it's mainly between two or three.

[00:34:01] I feel good about Helen, but something does feel weird to me

[00:34:04] about putting forward three people from Survivor Thailand.

[00:34:08] I'll admit to that.

[00:34:11] I mean, like I said, you know, you know, I'm automatically

[00:34:14] leaning a little towards her because she did say she studied my rules beforehand.

[00:34:19] But all right.

[00:34:20] You know what?

[00:34:21] You know what?

[00:34:21] Let's make it an official Bloomberg sanction list.

[00:34:23] Let's put Helen on there to your point.

[00:34:26] Listen, we'll see where these three finish.

[00:34:28] Right.

[00:34:29] But the Thailand lover officially gave off his three.

[00:34:33] Well, you know, let's let's not.

[00:34:36] Yeah, I was going to say I will put you assign you that label.

[00:34:38] But yeah, we have these three musketeers, these three women in Helen,

[00:34:41] Sheehan and Ghandia.

[00:34:42] They'll be on the fan vote.

[00:34:44] Let's see what people do with them.

[00:34:45] You know?

[00:34:46] Yeah, you're welcome.

[00:34:47] Bring back Ghandia supporters.

[00:34:50] We made it happen or we're one step closer.

[00:34:52] I should say.

[00:34:53] Right, right.

[00:34:54] David, anything else you want to say about Thailand?

[00:34:58] I don't know.

[00:35:00] I hope for your sake.

[00:35:01] This is the last time you have to talk about this season in some way,

[00:35:03] shape or form.

[00:35:04] Two times is maybe two times too many.

[00:35:07] I mean, you know, I'm just waiting for the the next time there's a

[00:35:14] journey through Survivor and we do the rankings again.

[00:35:17] And so I'll be happy to, you know, volunteer myself as sacrifice

[00:35:22] once again.

[00:35:24] All right.

[00:35:24] Well, so this will be the last podcast of this week.

[00:35:27] We are taking the weekend off to rest and relax, but we are coming

[00:35:32] back on Monday for a good old-fashioned battle of the sexes for

[00:35:37] the aforementioned reunion that David made his way into Survivor

[00:35:42] the Amazon.

[00:35:43] It will be myself and Shannon Gus, who is currently my co-host

[00:35:48] on the Summer Survivor Series, but is my co-host in all things

[00:35:52] shenanigans when it comes to Survivor.

[00:35:54] I would say we're going to figure out who to put on the shortlist

[00:35:57] from Survivor the Amazon, but really the question is going to be

[00:36:00] who's going to join Rob on this list.

[00:36:01] Yes.

[00:36:02] Yes.

[00:36:03] I'm glad you're just being forthright about that.

[00:36:05] And I do mean Rob with two B's.

[00:36:07] All right, David.

[00:36:09] This is so great.

[00:36:10] Thank you so much.

[00:36:10] I feel like it's very rare that we get a Blumen Bloomberg crossover.

[00:36:13] I'm assuming everyone who mixes up is going to get even more confused.

[00:36:16] Oh, yeah, what's happening?

[00:36:18] Yes.

[00:36:18] Yes.

[00:36:18] They're going to be like, wait there.

[00:36:19] It's you know, it's like Mo and Liz on the same screen.

[00:36:24] Exactly.

[00:36:25] I love your socks, by the way, David.

[00:36:27] So anything you'd like to plug right now?

[00:36:30] You are always making it busy on social media.

[00:36:33] I am I am.

[00:36:34] And so I'm at David Bloomberg on Twitter.

[00:36:38] My videos, which I'm by the time this airs probably will be out

[00:36:43] of Survivor 46 videos, but you can know it's a never ending well

[00:36:47] of content right now.

[00:36:49] Well, I try to avoid some of that content, but

[00:36:54] you can find all of my content on YouTube, Instagram and Tick-Tock

[00:36:59] is at David Bloomberg TV.

[00:37:00] I'll be doing some flashbacks.

[00:37:02] I've got some some some Thailand videos ready to go.

[00:37:06] I'm just waiting for this podcast to drop.

[00:37:08] I didn't want to give it away or anything.

[00:37:10] So I had a feeling, you know, I don't know if people are waiting

[00:37:14] with bated breath when this project was announced to find out who

[00:37:17] would be recapping Thailand, but remain that suspension of disbelief

[00:37:22] until next Friday for this thing to happen.

[00:37:25] Well, thank you, David, for coming on and chatting with me.

[00:37:28] This was such a great time again.

[00:37:30] Make sure you don't miss a beat of this coverage.

[00:37:46] We officially, as I mentioned before, are finishing our first week

[00:37:50] of this wildly ambitious experiment.

[00:37:53] I have had so much fun getting to do it so far.

[00:37:56] Full disclosure, we sort of pre-recorded these,

[00:37:59] so I have no idea how people are responding.

[00:38:01] I hope it's favorable.

[00:38:03] It's a fan vote.

[00:38:04] Probably not.

[00:38:04] But for those of you that are.

[00:38:06] Yeah, but for those of you that are liking it so far, we really appreciate

[00:38:09] the support and we're going to keep on keeping on as we start with Survivor,

[00:38:12] the Amazon on Monday with Shannon.

[00:38:15] Gus, thank you all so much for listening.

[00:38:18] Take care, everybody.
