[00:07:35] Well, you know, there have not been a lot of moments in Survivor history where people

[00:07:38] have come together and people have had to play specific parts.

[00:07:42] I can think of this and certainly, you know, the Eric Reichenbach of, you know, and Dalton

[00:07:48] Ross did a great job of like going through the oral history of that at one point.

[00:07:51] And that kind of is the similar of like, that's like a heist to Chappelle.

[00:07:55] Can you think of any other moments that are sort of like this where everybody is like acting

[00:07:59] out a part?

[00:08:01] Like an ensemble performance on Survivor?

[00:08:04] No, normally you're right.

[00:08:06] We normally get like one or two people and it's in a small, you know, like maybe you do

[00:08:09] this thing while I'll go do this something with an idol or maybe I give you this and,

[00:08:13] you know, and we try to throw people off or I have a fake idol that we both planned that

[00:08:17] we were going to give to somebody else.

[00:08:18] But never just like these big moments like this.

[00:08:20] Even like the three of you goes.

[00:08:45] The heroes thought that they were doing the heisting and then it was really the villains that

[00:08:48] were like playing along with that where Russell is like, then I stood up and me and poverty.

[00:08:55] We both play the idol at the same exact moment.

[00:08:57] Like he had to like sell this other story.

[00:08:59] I don't know how many of the villains women were actually going along with Russell's story,

[00:09:03] but they weren't denying it.

[00:09:05] No, no, no, no.

[00:09:07] And if they deny it, they wouldn't even believe it anyway.

[00:09:10] The heroes were so far up their own asses by that point.

[00:09:12] It didn't matter.

[00:09:13] But I think this is a great moment for Survivor, the franchise, because I do feel like that is

[00:09:17] the kind of thing where it's such a copycat show.

[00:09:20] People see something and they worry they worry about things that they saw in other seasons

[00:09:23] and then they see things like this.

[00:09:25] And I feel like that this will only inspire the creativity of future Survivor players.

[00:09:31] I think that we're going to see now not in Survivor 48, but I think in Survivor 49 and beyond.

[00:09:35] I wonder if we might see some other people come together and try to build something like this.

[00:09:42] Yeah, but will it be cute, not hot?

[00:09:45] Right.

[00:09:46] Like, is this going to be like one of those inflection points where everyone's like,

[00:09:50] I got to have my own operation in Italy?

[00:09:53] And this is going to be like showing up and asking probes to give you a nickname.

[00:09:59] Like, is this going to be something that people are going to repeat just for TV clout

[00:10:03] and it just doesn't play as well?

[00:10:05] I think what are the worst case scenario versions of that?

[00:10:08] That the person looks a little goofy and stupid or that the show itself becomes a little more

[00:10:13] cartoony than it currently is.

[00:10:14] I wouldn't mind necessarily.

[00:10:16] But I think that most Operation Italy's will fall flat on their face.

[00:10:19] Like, I think that there will be like two of the three people thinking that they're the

[00:10:23] Operation Italy is happening.

[00:10:24] But then the third person is like, no, this is Operation Flip the Script, actually.

[00:10:30] Yeah, we will.

[00:10:31] So I'd argue that we probably have a bunch of Operation Italy that happened and we just

[00:10:35] didn't see them.

[00:10:36] You know, they all started off as a seed and a plant over the last 40 some seasons.

[00:10:40] But once you get to somebody and they say, I'm not doing that, then it instantly fizzles

[00:10:44] out.

[00:10:45] You know, this is one of the times where it actually works out.

[00:10:47] But it's like every women's alliance since, you know, Micronesia, where it's like, I

[00:10:50] don't know, we're definitely taking it.

[00:10:52] And then one of the women is like, we're not taking it.

[00:10:54] You know, like it happens quickly.

[00:11:01] Right.

[00:11:01] It could have very much been very straightforward.

[00:11:03] We're going to split the thing.

[00:11:04] But they gave us each of their point of views on purpose.

[00:11:08] Right.

[00:11:08] They didn't have to give us Operation Italy.

[00:11:10] You can say whatever you want.

[00:11:11] It's up to the editors to really show us a story.

[00:11:13] And Survivor's been showing that they're willing to do a lot more riskier things.

[00:11:20] Yeah, playing with the board 45.

[00:11:21] That was fun.

[00:11:23] We got the he's all that, she's all that moment with Andy.

[00:11:27] I think they're getting a little loosey goosey with the editing style.

[00:11:30] And I think that is good because that's why the episode's entertaining to me.

[00:11:34] The strategy is cool, but it's the way you lay it out that's very captivating.

[00:11:37] The greatest thing that I can add to the discourse anymore from having been like a former

[00:11:44] super duper fan covering the show to now somebody who tries not to miss it every Wednesday night,

[00:11:49] but will again, if there's a better offer.

[00:11:52] Survivor really wonderfully enjoyed as a vibes show.

[00:11:56] Like if the vibes are good, if moments like Operation Italy are coming together, my goodness, we're cooking.

[00:12:03] And I agree with you, Chappelle.

[00:12:05] I think like we've been seeing more and more of that in the in the recent seasons, you know, some sometimes for for better,

[00:12:12] sometimes for worse.

[00:12:14] I'm up for seeing more experimentation with the format.

[00:12:18] They're taking chances with the editing.

[00:12:19] And I think that everybody's on the same page, like that they prefer to see like to take these types of chances in the editing.

[00:12:26] You know, it's the stuff that like when we take the chances with the game is a little hit or miss.

[00:12:31] But everybody, I think, is please play jazz, play with the edit.
