[00:01:32] Mike and Deanna got to playing some games.

[00:02:04] You can stay for free.
[00:02:22] You can stay for free.
[00:03:22] Go ahead. Another person. Go home. With the idol in the pocket.
[00:03:26] And I have to say, the editing I think in this episode was absolutely top tier.
[00:03:30] I thought it was so fun between...
[00:03:32] We'll get into all of this, but the Maria and Charlie stuff as well as what's the reveal at the end of how they did the boats,
[00:03:38] I thought that was all very enjoyable.
[00:03:40] So looking forward to breaking it all down.
[00:03:42] Absolutely. And of course we are joined by...
[00:03:46] Oh God, I'm blanking on your name.
[00:03:48] So I'm just gonna say, Taryn?
[00:03:50] Classic. Yes, Taryn.
[00:03:54] Pouya, same spelling. Easy to mix up.
[00:03:56] Of course it's Pouya. Pouya is making his BNB return this season.
[00:04:02] How are you doing right now? You're still in mourning after the loss of Venus last week?
[00:04:05] I'm picking up my feelings. Yes, that was a hard pill to swallow.
[00:04:09] But then it happened again for a month now.
[00:04:11] You know, it was I think a year ago where I remember Leanna was covering Drag Race
[00:04:17] and she was like, yeah, no one's went home in a month.
[00:04:19] It's been four episodes. No one's been eliminated.
[00:04:21] This is the opposite where it's been a month where I'm sitting there like,
[00:04:24] all right, we're about to see our first Idol play of the season.
[00:04:26] Sure enough, no we're not. They're just gonna go home with it.
[00:04:30] It is nutty. I can't believe it's happening,
[00:04:33] but it's honestly made for some very fun television.
[00:04:36] So I'm here for it. Absolutely.
[00:04:38] And we're going into the finale.
[00:04:40] I would say the thing I probably have the surest bet on
[00:04:42] is that Liz will find the Idol at the final five and she will burn it.
[00:04:47] That she will say, this is cursed.
[00:04:49] I haven't been looking for this thing all season long.
[00:04:52] It's fallen into my lap.
[00:04:53] She'll do what Parvati did in Micronesia,
[00:04:55] which is just like leave it on Exile Island.
[00:04:57] You know, it's much more of a hampering than it is a blessing at this point.
[00:05:00] But honestly, like if we have to take Q out,
[00:05:05] could we think of a better way to do it?
[00:05:07] As you tweeted out Pouya as the episode was airing,
[00:05:10] just the absolute delicious irony of for nearly a month straight at this point,
[00:05:16] this is a guy that has been presented as, okay, he's the safest bet.
[00:05:21] Everyone's voting Q and nope.
[00:05:23] Someone who thought it was Q goes home with an Idol in their pocket.
[00:05:27] To now have Q think that, okay,
[00:05:30] this time I'm the smokescreen for the fourth time in a row
[00:05:34] and go out with an Idol in his pocket is just,
[00:05:37] or Q-skirt I should say, is just like magnificent.
[00:05:42] This season cannot be scripted.
[00:05:44] Truly it's the definition of unscripted.
[00:05:47] It's wild to consider that this is the same season that when it first started,
[00:05:52] people were like tapping out.
[00:05:54] Like I can't do this.
[00:05:55] What is this?
[00:05:56] Are you talking about Jalinski in the Sweat Challenge?
[00:05:58] Listen, I'm talking about my brother in Banu who for a lot of people,
[00:06:06] it was like, all right, this is too much.
[00:06:07] Stop that.
[00:06:08] Imagine getting to a place where people were like stop the 90 minutes.
[00:06:10] I don't need more.
[00:06:11] Give me less.
[00:06:12] Give me 60.
[00:06:13] This is the same season.
[00:06:14] And since the merge, it's been on a different trajectory.
[00:06:16] It is so funny to think about it that way though, Mike,
[00:06:19] where Q was the decoy boot for three weeks in a row.
[00:06:24] So much of three rounds in a row.
[00:06:25] So much so that he is now in a full sense of security of like,
[00:06:28] well, my name can come up.
[00:06:29] It ain't me.
[00:06:30] I'm not even, I'm not even worried.
[00:06:32] And then only for this to be the time he goes once he has an Idol.
[00:06:37] I know.
[00:06:38] That's why it goes back to the idea of like, you can't script this.
[00:06:41] It's just so gag worthy.
[00:06:42] And I love the idea of the producers.
[00:06:45] Cause I, you know, it's like, oh,
[00:06:46] they're probably not going to hide another Idol final six.
[00:06:49] Right. You know?
[00:06:50] And then sure enough, I feel like producers are like,
[00:06:52] there will be an Idol play this season.
[00:06:54] There will be an Idol play this season just for Q to be like, nah,
[00:06:58] I'm good. I'm good.
[00:06:59] Yeah.
[00:07:00] But the icing on top of just this delicious Sunday is the fact that not
[00:07:05] only does Q go out,
[00:07:07] but Q goes out at the moment when Maria decides to take a shot at her
[00:07:13] number one ally and makes what could have been arguably the biggest move in
[00:07:18] the game to take out her number one only to lose her number two and come
[00:07:24] back where she is the only person who voted not only in the minority,
[00:07:28] but against her former number one ally.
[00:07:30] Like we talked about this last week,
[00:07:33] but welcome Maria and Charlie to the hot mess express that is survivor 46.
[00:07:38] You have been playing a pretty clean,
[00:07:40] straightforward game up until last week,
[00:07:42] but it was only inevitable that you just join in the chaos that this season
[00:07:46] is.
[00:07:47] Yeah. I mean, the thing is, is we were,
[00:07:50] Pouya and I were talking obviously watching the episode and I was like,
[00:07:53] man, this energy is giving me Lindsay Omer from 42, right?
[00:07:58] Like you, the rag tag group of,
[00:08:00] of outsiders sort of gets together and ends up making a move.
[00:08:04] But instead this is like if Omer tried to put the boats on, you know,
[00:08:07] I don't know, Mary Ann, I guess.
[00:08:09] So I think that there,
[00:08:11] there was just so much that was so interesting about this episode.
[00:08:14] And also in terms of the decision-making when it comes to Maria,
[00:08:17] because okay, if you're Maria,
[00:08:19] like do you tell Q to just play the idol regardless you ensure that both of
[00:08:23] you are safe?
[00:08:25] Like what's the benefit of saving that idol for the next round?
[00:08:28] Is it because, because you just need, is it because I guess if you don't want
[00:08:32] immunity and like immunity and then he plays the idol on you,
[00:08:35] I guess would be the situation.
[00:08:37] But I feel like if you're going to make such a big move,
[00:08:39] don't you want to like guarantee that it happens?
[00:08:41] Yeah. I mean,
[00:08:42] that's my assumption as well is that she was already thinking ahead with
[00:08:45] the scenario up and Q had openly told her like, if you don't win,
[00:08:49] I'm playing it on you.
[00:08:50] So maybe she thought like,
[00:08:51] Okay, but my chances up of making the final four from 20% to 40%.
[00:08:56] I mean, that being said, of course,
[00:08:58] I got the chance to talk with Q this week and he affirmed to me that like
[00:09:02] if Maria lost at the final five and he was still there,
[00:09:04] he was going to try to take a shot at her if he was able to.
[00:09:07] So like, you know,
[00:09:08] that that was not necessarily the God's honest truth coming out of that
[00:09:12] man's mouth in that moment,
[00:09:13] but it seemed to be enough or maybe there was some other reason to have
[00:09:16] Maria just be so utterly confident that Kenzie and Liz were going to
[00:09:22] keep doing what they were doing and vote out Charlie and keep Q only
[00:09:26] for this to be the one time when like everyone's mutual interest aligned
[00:09:31] and they said, okay, it's time.
[00:09:32] We finally get rid of this guy.
[00:09:34] Yeah, I feel like and obviously this is the mechanics of the end game
[00:09:37] now right where once you get the final four,
[00:09:40] you essentially have three chances to make it to final tribal win the
[00:09:44] immunity be taken with the immunity winner or win fire.
[00:09:49] So your odds of getting there are pretty decent.
[00:09:53] Yeah, outside of just being awful at fire and having a whole resource
[00:09:56] your game which I you know could happen but I feel like especially when
[00:10:01] this is going to be like you no matter what game you've played so far
[00:10:04] for Maria who has played a phenomenal game by the way.
[00:10:07] This is the crowning jewel.
[00:10:08] You're cutting your big ally arguably your biggest competition in any
[00:10:13] remaining challenges moving forward in Charlie.
[00:10:17] I think you load the deck right you you have safety Q will have safety
[00:10:23] Charlie goes and then even if and obviously she doesn't know that
[00:10:27] the votes are necessarily going to be there for Q but there's going
[00:10:29] to be a couple votes for Q you can then parlay that of like hey
[00:10:33] listen Q is looking like he's ready to go like we could maybe look at Q
[00:10:36] and also, you know, potentially you have a chance of if they re
[00:10:40] hide this idol back you have a chance to find the out of yourself
[00:10:42] and final five which at this point maybe you don't want to maybe
[00:10:45] just throw in a motion and move on but to me this felt a little bit
[00:10:49] like I'm going to have my cake and eat it too.
[00:10:52] It was a lot like too many things have gone good for Maria.
[00:10:54] I feel like at this point.
[00:10:56] Well, and I think also like let's say Q plays the idol right and
[00:11:00] it's incorrect.
[00:11:01] Okay, so he only gets two votes then it's like oh yeah, I mean Q
[00:11:04] probably doesn't have a huge chance of winning at this point, but
[00:11:06] at least it's like oh yeah, he played an idol incorrectly like what
[00:11:09] does this guy know right and then if it's correct at least that you
[00:11:12] ensure that the two of you move forward and you can even make an
[00:11:15] argument at final travel Council like I convinced Q to play his idol
[00:11:18] when he didn't need to that's how much control I've had in this game
[00:11:22] exactly or you can say yeah, I'm the one who convinced Q to play
[00:11:25] his idol when he needed to like either way it can work in your
[00:11:28] benefit and you can spin that however you want.
[00:11:31] I think the other thing that's so interesting is how Charlie comes
[00:11:34] out looking so squeaky clean like the man who was spying on
[00:11:39] the 5e spy with Maria essentially being like we're targeting each
[00:11:42] other but then to Maria's and like the way it's perceived Charlie
[00:11:46] looks like completely innocent.
[00:11:47] He's like, you know, I just wanted us to be closer.
[00:11:50] I took out Q and like you voted against me.
[00:11:52] I was never going to target you like there's so many like wonderful
[00:11:55] things that he can go along with this.
[00:11:56] I brought you into the plan that it was going to be cute.
[00:11:59] Yeah, I told you yeah, I told you it's it's it's great because again
[00:12:04] had Maria not won immunity then he most likely joins everyone with
[00:12:08] taking the shot against her and ironically enough his game looks
[00:12:12] a little bit murkier where now yes, he does still have Maria but it
[00:12:16] really does seem like a 4v1 situation next time.
[00:12:20] I think Maria really has to basically win out to make it to the
[00:12:23] final three and as you mentioned like it's not like he could say
[00:12:28] Maria could say well I didn't vote for you.
[00:12:30] You know, the votes were either for Kenzie or Q and I want to keep
[00:12:33] Q she directly voted for Charlie and I cannot laud enough praise
[00:12:40] on to basically a scene of the two of them shaking hands while
[00:12:44] their fingers are crossed with the other hand behind their back
[00:12:47] like it was so well done.
[00:12:49] No Charlie got the gift of permission now to vote out Maria the
[00:12:56] next time and be like well you I was not going to write your name
[00:12:59] down until I saw you wrote my name down and that is the Taylor
[00:13:02] Swift New Era's tour truth of the matter.
[00:13:05] I'm not a Swifty so that I'm not going to get any of the wow.
[00:13:08] I really couldn't tell you just absolutely sold that.
[00:13:12] I'm the problem with me.
[00:13:14] Yeah, we just don't want any bad blood shake it off shake it off.
[00:13:18] All right, that's the full extent of it.
[00:13:20] I am kind of feeling 22 anyway.
[00:13:22] The whole point is that the permission was that that's also a
[00:13:25] tearstroke reference.
[00:13:27] You also see Charlie had that painted on his hand as he was making
[00:13:30] his yes, I did.
[00:13:33] Yes, I did.
[00:13:34] Yep, definitely sick.
[00:13:36] That does make me question has he done it with other Taylor Swift
[00:13:39] lyrics in areas that have not been visible to us thus far.
[00:13:44] I would assume so I feel like it's you know, if there's enough
[00:13:47] content to be there.
[00:13:50] I don't know it was actually interesting because I couldn't tell
[00:13:53] if his painted on it almost look like a sticker like it looked like
[00:13:56] something is laying over.
[00:13:58] And we think he painted himself with the number 22.
[00:14:01] No, but I'm just saying whoever painted it gave it some good like
[00:14:03] 3d mess because it fooled me for a little time.
[00:14:07] 22 sticker 3dness or 3 Venus.
[00:14:10] Oh, too soon.
[00:14:12] Soon Mike eat this.
[00:14:13] No, the okay way far.
[00:14:15] Okay, those two soon is too far.
[00:14:18] The other thing to go back to Mike's point about the conversation
[00:14:22] that Marie and Charlie had where they were like both with their
[00:14:24] fingers crossed that again.
[00:14:26] This is why I go back to the editing in this episode.
[00:14:28] I think it's just absolutely fantastic.
[00:14:30] They both have their shots of both of them like rubbing their nails
[00:14:33] nervously and I was like, oh my gosh, this is amazing the way that
[00:14:36] they drew the parallels between both Charlie and Maria essentially
[00:14:40] like, oh my God, do I have to wait?
[00:14:42] But what I know they would never target me like but I need to cut
[00:14:45] them in order to win.
[00:14:47] It was a thing of true beauty.
[00:14:49] I loved it down to I don't know if they purposely frame this or
[00:14:51] if they even reverse the shot.
[00:14:53] If you notice Charlie's confessionals, he's framed on the left and
[00:14:56] Maria's confessional.
[00:14:57] She's framed on the right which is also how they're sitting on the
[00:14:59] boat as well.
[00:15:01] I will say that boat like should be given a plaque and bronze as
[00:15:07] like a landmark of survivor because first off it's not only the
[00:15:12] source of that that iconic conversation, but if you notice the
[00:15:16] tradition the past four episodes besides people going home has been
[00:15:19] after every tribal council someone will go to the boat to mope
[00:15:24] about something that happened at the boat and then someone else
[00:15:27] will go to join them.
[00:15:29] There's random scenes where like everyone's sitting on the boat
[00:15:31] huddled together celebrating that they're in the final six for
[00:15:33] whatever reason this upturned boat has become like the the rec
[00:15:37] center of the camp.
[00:15:39] It actually reminds me a bit of like in Big Brother, you know how
[00:15:42] they like always go to the pantry right after the HOH results like
[00:15:45] there's for some reason this is the meeting place to go to once
[00:15:47] you get back to camp.
[00:15:49] Okay, what's funny is that I forgot about I was like, what is he
[00:15:54] talking about boat?
[00:15:56] I've fully forgotten that that was that's a boat turned upside
[00:15:59] down.
[00:16:01] I just thought it was like a little like pillar that they had on
[00:16:04] their Island that they've been sitting in which is stupid because
[00:16:06] I've been watching the seasons.
[00:16:08] You think I'd know this but I now know what you mean though the
[00:16:11] Mopi boat.
[00:16:12] I know where it is now.
[00:16:14] Yeah, absolutely because I don't think it's been used as a boat.
[00:16:15] I think it's been used as like a therapist couch now for the
[00:16:18] majority of the game.
[00:16:20] But where did it come from?
[00:16:22] Is it actually about that?
[00:16:24] They were using earlier.
[00:16:26] It was the boat for the tribe that they just overturned and
[00:16:29] permanently beached.
[00:16:31] Gotcha.
[00:16:33] Yeah, I also kept forgetting that it was a boat.
[00:16:35] I thought it was just like they're sitting cube.
[00:16:37] They're like morning conversation sitting cube.
[00:16:39] Yeah, and also, you know, listen, I sympathize with the fact that
[00:16:42] Maria was made to feel a certain way by being a Venus's remarks.
[00:16:44] But again, if we talk about like brilliant scripting the fact that
[00:16:46] Maria was the one to comfort you after that, you know, his
[00:16:49] character was kind of dragged through the mud and now she is the
[00:16:52] one that's kind of on the receiving end of that and is now
[00:16:54] receiving comfort.
[00:16:56] I'll get everyone kind of seems to have a turn though.
[00:16:58] I would not be surprised if Maria Sutter makes a return trip to
[00:17:01] the boat after what happened last travel Council.
[00:17:03] That's safe to say.
[00:17:05] Oh also the so after the boat was made.
[00:17:08] I think it was like a little bit of a twist.
[00:17:09] Oh, also the so after right after all the votes have been read and
[00:17:12] again, this is pure editing.
[00:17:14] So it may she may have made eye contact with Charlie, but it just
[00:17:17] look like, you know, when a dog to go back to the family dog analogy
[00:17:20] like it's not Charlie here is it's Maria in this situation when
[00:17:23] they like they know they've done something wrong and they like
[00:17:25] tuck their tail between their legs and they just like won't really
[00:17:27] look at you.
[00:17:29] That was how it felt like for Maria.
[00:17:31] She was just like like you can see the internal panic on the
[00:17:33] outside as someone who frequently goes through that.
[00:17:35] I know what that's like where you're trying to like, you know,
[00:17:36] what am I going to do?
[00:17:38] Like this is a really bad situation.
[00:17:40] She recognizes it and is like in her head already probably trying
[00:17:43] to think of what she's going to say for damage control because oh
[00:17:46] yeah, my heart like broke for her that bone is like, oh yeah,
[00:17:49] and that's what I understand if people wanted, you know, the big
[00:17:53] move to be made for Charlie to go here, but a we still keep this
[00:17:58] conflict in the game.
[00:18:00] We're still in the game.
[00:18:02] We're still in the game.
[00:18:03] And a we still keep this conflict in the game, which is great.
[00:18:05] I also feel like we very rarely get this of number ones not only
[00:18:09] breaking up but taking a direct shot at each other and missing.
[00:18:12] I feel like it's something we very very rarely see on Survivor
[00:18:15] and it sucks that it comes at the cost of Q on the other hand
[00:18:19] if I had to lose Q as I mentioned before I would want him to go
[00:18:24] out like this in a Q for quintessential way at the end of
[00:18:28] basically his own boot episode.
[00:18:29] Rather than like have him go out in fifth place and have like the
[00:18:33] first 45 minutes of the finale dedicated to this road.
[00:18:35] But yeah, I mean that was something actually that Puya said
[00:18:39] also like that he was happy to go back to the Charlie Maria thing
[00:18:43] that like Puya you said that you were so happy that they were
[00:18:46] still in the game.
[00:18:48] So now we could actually have the follow-up to this and the
[00:18:51] follow-up to the betrayal.
[00:18:53] Yeah, like I think I fancy this more as our finale because I
[00:18:56] beginning on Wednesday that I would if the payoff was
[00:19:00] immediately that episode.
[00:19:02] It's done now.
[00:19:04] It's one of them and they're the biggest target left and now it's
[00:19:07] like a win the comp or go home.
[00:19:09] That's not going to be as fun for me.
[00:19:11] Now.
[00:19:12] There's a couple wrinkles in play which one of them could win
[00:19:14] immunity do either of them when do none of them win?
[00:19:16] How are they going to rally people?
[00:19:18] I still think obviously there's a world where you just it's nice
[00:19:21] to not assume that Maria is probably still the biggest target
[00:19:23] if she doesn't win the immunity, but there's still a chance
[00:19:24] the idols out of play.
[00:19:26] We're still at Final Five technically you could throw one
[00:19:28] back in there and they very well might so who knows?
[00:19:30] Oh, no, I the Liana's right like production is dying right now
[00:19:35] like ironically enough this season that's produced some of
[00:19:38] the most chaotic gameplay we've seen in the new era has had
[00:19:41] no advantages played in it save for one extra vote.
[00:19:44] So which was burned which was burned.
[00:19:46] I'm there wasn't needed exactly.
[00:19:48] So it just goes to show that it's the people that make the
[00:19:50] game and it's the people that make the game.
[00:19:51] Not necessarily the advantages, but that being said, I'm
[00:19:53] assuming they would still want to shake up up to the very
[00:19:55] last minute and so they would throw an idol in there and
[00:19:57] listen on paper.
[00:19:59] You could say they have literally no excuse not to play
[00:20:03] this title considering it's the last time but this cast can
[00:20:06] find the excuse trust.
[00:20:08] Yeah, someone's gonna get it and they're gonna be like I'm
[00:20:11] not going to use it and then I'm going to tell the jury at
[00:20:13] Final Three that I had it all along.
[00:20:15] I'm going to do it.
[00:20:17] We'll call it the Marianne game.
[00:20:18] Bit and it's like, well, you're not going to make it there
[00:20:20] because like I said legally if you have an idol on season 46
[00:20:23] you're going home that night legal.
[00:20:25] Oh my gosh.
[00:20:27] It's so it's so true.
[00:20:29] So like that's the thing is like hey, let's say Maria finds
[00:20:32] the idol.
[00:20:34] It's like well, sorry, you gotta go.
[00:20:36] That's them's the rules but to go back to the sort of, you
[00:20:40] know, what's going to be the first vote of this the finale
[00:20:43] episode.
[00:20:45] I do think that it's going to be a little bit more of a
[00:20:48] choppy.
[00:20:50] I do think that even if it is let's say cut and dry for Maria
[00:20:53] were still going to get the payoff of the Charlie Maria
[00:20:56] conflict.
[00:20:58] So even if like the actual, you know drama for the boot is
[00:21:02] Oh Maria has to win immunity or she's gone.
[00:21:04] I kind of don't really care about that because we can kind
[00:21:07] of yada yada through that part as long as I get the
[00:21:09] conversation on the Mopi boat the mope boat between Charlie
[00:21:13] and Maria.
[00:21:15] That's what I want.
[00:21:16] I want to talk about all this mess and I'm so happy.
[00:21:18] We have a lot of it because I feel like in a standard
[00:21:21] episode of Survivor the big messy thing we'd have to come
[00:21:24] in and talk about that.
[00:21:26] We kind of have just belayed the point about is the fact
[00:21:28] that Ben comes back to camp and doesn't sit on the moat
[00:21:31] boat but fully admits he wrote down the wrong name.
[00:21:34] He does a sincere Natalie Anderson as we say in the
[00:21:38] business.
[00:21:40] My favorite part of last week aside from obviously the
[00:21:43] live show and all that was the hours upon hours that all
[00:21:47] of you Survivor podcasters and pundits sat down and tried
[00:21:51] to logic some kind of strategic decision behind this.
[00:21:55] Oh, it's a defensive play against an idol or this or that
[00:22:00] or shot in the dark.
[00:22:02] Nope.
[00:22:04] My boy just stood there said Kenzie and then he just
[00:22:07] wrote down Kenzie and went back to his seat.
[00:22:09] But like that's what I don't understand is because so I'm
[00:22:13] even okay.
[00:22:15] It's after the game, right?
[00:22:17] So it's who can tell if this is actual valuable information
[00:22:19] but didn't Q tweet like oh I was supposed to vote for Kenzie
[00:22:21] too or something like that and then I'm like, yeah, that
[00:22:23] makes absolutely no sense what Ben is saying.
[00:22:25] So it's been lying then in my head.
[00:22:27] I'm like creating this web of lies and I'm like, oh my
[00:22:29] God, Ben is playing a long game.
[00:22:31] He's going to get to the end and be like you all thought
[00:22:33] I was a dummy, but I'm not like psych.
[00:22:35] I'm actually super smart or something like that.
[00:22:37] I just I was so difficult to process like what was
[00:22:41] actually happening and why I am the night terror.
[00:22:43] I woke you all up out of this game and I am the one
[00:22:47] that rocked your psyches to the core.
[00:22:49] I think multiple things can be true because I think
[00:22:53] that maybe one of the reasons why Ben randomly blurred
[00:22:56] and bluntly voted out voted for Kenzie was perhaps
[00:23:00] that like he had been given a Kenzie plan earlier in
[00:23:03] the day before it settled upon Venus.
[00:23:05] I was like what was I supposed to do?
[00:23:07] I feel like I was told Kenzie at one point.
[00:23:09] Okay, we'll write it down.
[00:23:10] It could also be the case that Q was told to write
[00:23:14] down Kenzie separately as well.
[00:23:16] And maybe it was like fake to him like oh yeah, Ben's
[00:23:18] voting this way too.
[00:23:20] So that way you like you definitely won't go home.
[00:23:22] It'll be what like a four to one split so that you
[00:23:26] wouldn't go home in a tie.
[00:23:28] That's what I imagined it to be.
[00:23:30] Otherwise, this is the labyrinth two doors.
[00:23:32] One is always lying and one is always telling the truth
[00:23:35] and that just sounds maddening.
[00:23:37] But it's also this season, right?
[00:23:38] So maybe that is true.
[00:23:40] The other thing well, the other thing too is like I'm
[00:23:45] I'm definitely inclined to believe Ben in this situation
[00:23:48] like when he was saying I genuinely just blanked and
[00:23:51] you kind of see everything that he's struggling with
[00:23:53] and what he's going through.
[00:23:55] I totally believe him.
[00:23:57] I mean because that must be so like we see how it
[00:23:59] impacted Jess early on in the game and they've been
[00:24:02] out there for so much longer to just like not be
[00:24:05] getting sleep to be having the pain of being out
[00:24:08] there and having panic attacks in the middle of the night.
[00:24:10] Again, you're not sleeping sleep is absolutely critical
[00:24:13] for your brain to function.
[00:24:15] So he's not getting that clearance every night.
[00:24:17] And I could imagine you just get up there and you're
[00:24:19] just like I have no idea what is even happening right now.
[00:24:22] I agree on it to the point that I'm honestly surprised
[00:24:25] it hasn't happened more.
[00:24:27] I don't know if people are maybe it's Charlie writing
[00:24:31] who to vote for on people's arms and hands like he
[00:24:34] is with Taylor Swift songs or like tie a little piece
[00:24:36] of ribbon around your finger to symbolize the person
[00:24:39] you're voting for people need these mnemonics to remember
[00:24:42] because especially when you get like super complicated
[00:24:45] vote splits, I can imagine it.
[00:24:47] It's really can be tough to get it jumbled in your head
[00:24:50] on top of the fact of like yes, Ben had a little bit
[00:24:53] of a pizza coma as it were but other than that you
[00:24:56] really haven't eaten anything over the course of nearly
[00:24:59] a month. Yeah, that'll do a lot to you and especially
[00:25:03] you know, the change of environment.
[00:25:04] I you know, I can't imagine because you know, I feel
[00:25:07] like everyone has had to some degree the waking up
[00:25:10] in the middle of the night sweating over like a horrendous
[00:25:13] dream that you've had or you know something you heard
[00:25:16] a noise whatever imagine doing that and then being
[00:25:19] disoriented for even five seconds and waking up in the
[00:25:21] jungle and you're like wait a second where in the world
[00:25:24] am I and like I can't even imagine to begin how that
[00:25:28] would feel and then to like reintegrate where your mind
[00:25:31] is like I'm so happy. He has Kenzie there who's willing
[00:25:34] to play ball with him because in an alternative world.
[00:25:37] He doesn't have a support system there and it's just
[00:25:40] terrifying to think of. Yeah. I mean look at this cast
[00:25:42] there was like probably a 60% chance that would be
[00:25:45] the case like if Kenzie got voted off early like maybe
[00:25:48] someone else would be there to comfort but certainly
[00:25:50] not to the extent that she is where she's like right
[00:25:53] next to him holds his hands. They take a lap around
[00:25:56] she comes up with that beautiful weather metaphor that
[00:25:58] I want to like cross stitch and put up on my wall when
[00:26:01] I'm feeling down myself like man like such a great
[00:26:05] spirit to have out there especially for someone like
[00:26:08] Ben who is clearly going through it and it seems
[00:26:11] like not really receiving a lot of warm from a lot
[00:26:15] of other people that are clearly caught up in their
[00:26:17] own stuff. Yeah, it's it's interesting because you
[00:26:21] know this whole Siga like love tribe thing like for
[00:26:25] that being the case yet Kenzie is the one who's there
[00:26:28] to you know to comfort him. That's actually a really
[00:26:31] really sweet and I think there's genuinely there's a
[00:26:34] reason why that is included and that's something I
[00:26:37] think about Kenzie right and what her story is and
[00:26:40] and how she's being perceived to like show her strength
[00:26:43] in terms of her social game and like her care for for
[00:26:46] others because yeah like like Pouya said if you have
[00:26:48] like I've had anxiety dreams where I wake up and I'm
[00:26:50] like no idea where I am even though I'm in my own bed
[00:26:53] to imagine like waking up and thinking you're in Jumanji
[00:26:55] or something like that. Like oh my God, what's happened?
[00:26:56] You don't go into Jumanji. You hear that sound?
[00:27:01] It's so terrifying. It's just a really really like
[00:27:04] sweet human moment and to have that on top of all
[00:27:07] of the chaos in the back stabbing that's happening.
[00:27:09] I think it just really evens out the episode and makes
[00:27:11] it feel like a full complete meal. Yeah, I think
[00:27:15] also helps explain Ben's perspective as well where
[00:27:17] I think look some people do like to cloud on like
[00:27:20] what's this guy doing? He's not even playing. He has
[00:27:22] no strategy. I'm happy that it did provide some
[00:27:23] context as to like he's really in it right now and
[00:27:27] look obviously your mental health is front of mind
[00:27:30] as you are dealing with all those anxieties and
[00:27:32] terrors on the island and as the fatigue is mounting.
[00:27:36] So I could imagine if you're like nope just tell me
[00:27:39] how to vote. I've got my own stuff to deal with
[00:27:42] in this moment. I just want to get through the
[00:27:44] night. I don't need to necessarily worry about
[00:27:47] getting through Tribal Council night as it were and
[00:27:50] so I'm happy that it did provide some context as to
[00:27:53] why he probably has been at the end of the day
[00:27:56] the quietest person out of maybe this entire cast
[00:28:00] like from a real story perspective. Yeah, I the
[00:28:05] thing with Ben is that and I think there's going
[00:28:08] to be there's been a lot of that. I think Ben
[00:28:10] has been fun kind of as like the vibes guy of
[00:28:13] the tribe and also as far as some good fun moments
[00:28:16] on the show but also has been just a really
[00:28:19] fun character to work with. I think he's a really
[00:28:21] fun character to work with on the show but also
[00:28:24] has been shown to not really have much agency,
[00:28:27] you know, it's kind of gone by the wayside since
[00:28:30] the merge but moments like this remind you that
[00:28:33] like doesn't matter how much they're showing us
[00:28:36] him and and doesn't matter how in front or not
[00:28:39] in front of the decisions. He is he is going through
[00:28:42] the exact same 26 days that these other people
[00:28:45] are this is the exact same 26 days that has caused
[00:28:48] Liz to not be able to take a bathroom break for
[00:28:51] the exact same season and they're all going through
[00:28:54] their own personal struggles and things and I
[00:28:57] feel like especially when it's like the funny guy
[00:29:00] like the class clown or the comedian people will
[00:29:03] just forget that. Oh, yeah, the comedians I love
[00:29:05] it all the time. They got some sad moments and
[00:29:07] reminder. Here's Ben's. Yeah, I think to your
[00:29:11] first point Puya again brings up why one of my
[00:29:15] big pet peeves in terms of Survivor discourse is
[00:29:17] ever accusing people of like quote not playing
[00:29:18] the game just because I think it's just very much
[00:29:22] a subjective opinion of like well, you're not
[00:29:25] playing the way that I view people should be
[00:29:28] playing the game when like in this case, it's
[00:29:30] not even about Ben's trying to play a really
[00:29:33] underhanded game because he knows that all the
[00:29:36] big targets end up getting voted out in a row
[00:29:38] most likely with idols in this case. It's more
[00:29:40] so like no Ben has a lot going on and is just
[00:29:43] trying to put one foot in front of the other right
[00:29:46] now. That's not really why we're getting up.
[00:29:48] It's just getting a lot of strategic content
[00:29:50] from him. Yeah, I mean, I'm wondering because
[00:29:53] it's kind of been a theme from Ben like from
[00:29:55] the beginning right that there was sort of the
[00:29:57] Ben didn't you know want to talk about Alliances
[00:29:59] or whatever like very early on but I think that
[00:30:02] that can be like it can be two things like one
[00:30:05] either like he was struggling initially or
[00:30:07] there's sort of this like Oh nervousness initially
[00:30:09] and then it can kind of like spiral from there.
[00:30:12] So yeah, my heart really goes out to Ben like
[00:30:14] it that's got to be really tough. Yeah. Do you
[00:30:16] think one day he's going to like wake up like
[00:30:18] Liz did and was like I got an announcement
[00:30:20] everybody. I slept a full eight hours, baby.
[00:30:23] I'm a new man. Yeah, I'm excited his
[00:30:28] announcement again when they're all on the boat
[00:30:30] got to be on the boat. Yeah, exactly. It's
[00:30:33] like the kitchen table. Like I feel like that's
[00:30:35] where all the important conversations happen as
[00:30:37] a family and that's where it happens as well
[00:30:39] in this like incredibly described dysfunctional
[00:30:42] family that is Survivor 46. Oh my gosh. Wait.
[00:30:44] So speaking of family, I went back to double
[00:30:46] check the quote to make sure that I had written
[00:30:48] it down appropriately. There was a moment that
[00:30:50] for some reason, I don't know why it like really
[00:30:52] made me laugh. It was after the the reward
[00:30:55] or the immunity chat. No reward challenge with
[00:30:58] the letters from home and the sanctuary people
[00:31:00] like go off to the sanctuary where good things
[00:31:02] happen and then Maria and Jeff are like talking
[00:31:06] and Jeff said something about like, you know,
[00:31:08] a mother's love is different something something
[00:31:10] and then it was because it was like, you know,
[00:31:14] you in that you created these people. Yeah,
[00:31:18] he said he said all love is good love, but
[00:31:22] a parent's love is unique. Yes. Yes. It is
[00:31:26] unique in that you created these people and I
[00:31:29] just want to add that to the list of like Jeff
[00:31:33] does not know how to talk about family relationships
[00:31:35] or love in any regard. It was the same as
[00:31:38] the weird like brother something. Yeah, the thing
[00:31:41] about being siblings is that one of you isn't
[00:31:42] a parent that death. Yeah, exactly. So I just
[00:31:46] want to add this to that that group of weird
[00:31:50] things Jeff says about like, yeah, you created
[00:31:53] these people. I don't it's just a weird way
[00:31:56] to phrase birth. I mean, yes, of course, like
[00:31:59] she did create her sons, but at the same time
[00:32:02] who says that I would also say I'll push back
[00:32:05] a bit Emily flippin style against Jeff's
[00:32:08] declaration that quote all love is good love
[00:32:09] like what about love of murder? Would we
[00:32:13] consider that good love? Okay, not where I was
[00:32:16] going to go. Gonna go love of shocking love
[00:32:19] bombing. Yeah. Yeah. Yes. Love of yeah, love
[00:32:22] of murder. Love of violence, you know, so
[00:32:26] yeah, maybe not all love is good. Love. Maybe
[00:32:30] I think I think it could be a little bit of
[00:32:33] discrimination. There could be some barriers
[00:32:35] to entry when it comes to love personally in
[00:32:37] love Shane. Yeah, like maybe you shouldn't love
[00:32:41] kids in the way that you love. That's it.
[00:32:44] Yeah. What if Michael Scoop is like Jeff
[00:32:47] you said all love is good love right? Can
[00:32:49] you testify for me? I've got a child. Yeah,
[00:32:55] my character witness Jeff defend my actions.
[00:32:59] I heard Jared from Subway also wanted him
[00:33:02] but imagine imagine Jeff probes on the stand
[00:33:04] like Judge Reynolds. That's a really good
[00:33:07] point. Do you think as a judge when you're
[00:33:10] viewing this case like he just decides to
[00:33:12] make an entire trial on its own? He's
[00:33:15] biting off some red vine. Yeah, he like
[00:33:18] brings popcorn. He's like sitting on the
[00:33:20] jury stand eating popcorn. He'll be like
[00:33:22] all right. Can I pay lift? Can you hand
[00:33:24] me the piece of paper with the jury's
[00:33:26] verdict on it? It feels better if I read
[00:33:28] it. I tell you the votes. That's the thing
[00:33:32] is obviously it's kind of like seeing
[00:33:34] your teacher out of school, right? Like
[00:33:37] when you see your teacher at the grocery
[00:33:39] store your brain like almost can't process
[00:33:41] the fact that they're like real people
[00:33:43] that have real lives that like do things
[00:33:45] outside of the context. You know them in
[00:33:47] that's how I feel about Jeff like Jeff
[00:33:49] feels like someone who's just always
[00:33:51] survivor host Jeff probes no matter
[00:33:54] like where he's at like he's giving
[00:33:56] commentary when he's out like just
[00:33:58] watching anything happen. Do you think
[00:33:59] like he'll go to his kids fifth grade
[00:34:01] talent show and like the principal gets
[00:34:03] up to the podium and like just kind of
[00:34:05] looks at him like you want to do this
[00:34:08] like come on and he's like, come on. I
[00:34:10] don't want to work right now. Listen,
[00:34:12] it's not my six months in Fiji, but
[00:34:14] then he'll get up there. He'll reveal
[00:34:16] that Patty the hula hooping dog won the
[00:34:18] talent show. We'll have a good night. I
[00:34:22] love the idea that in his son's fifth
[00:34:24] grade talent show a dog one.
[00:34:26] You couldn't enter the dog. Yeah,
[00:34:29] what if the dog was what the dog was
[00:34:32] in the class? I mean Charlie, you know,
[00:34:35] obviously he's allowed to go out there
[00:34:37] and play Survivor. So why not? The
[00:34:40] thing if you want to speak to how smooth
[00:34:42] Kenzie social game is she dressed down
[00:34:46] pretty much everyone on that tribe in
[00:34:48] the course of her metaphor and everyone
[00:34:50] laughed and let her get away with it. Oh
[00:34:52] my God, she read them like that was a
[00:34:54] reading challenge. She was like, yeah,
[00:34:56] you're the cynical grandma and Liz is
[00:34:58] like, oh, that's me.

[00:36:39] I feel like it's been long enough that we haven't brought the conversation back to Q,
[00:36:43] which doesn't feel right when we're talking about Survivor 46. So I think it's time we
[00:36:48] truly memorialize him here. But first, that was my Julie Chen win. I just want to get
[00:36:56] your general thoughts, Puya, on Q. I feel like any of our respective thoughts cannot
[00:37:01] be boiled down to even one podcast because he is one of the most unique characters I
[00:37:08] think I've ever seen on the show, if not in quite some time. So now that we are officially
[00:37:14] watching this man walk away with his hoodie tied sincerely around his waist, idle swinging
[00:37:20] in the breeze, give me your thoughts on the Q experience over the course of Survivor 46.
[00:37:26] It has been a phenomenal one, Mike. So when the press released the first seven minutes
[00:37:33] of the episode via TikTok, I sat and watched these seven minutes. And my only thing that
[00:37:40] I left from it was I think Q's the first boot. He was talking about how he's going to be
[00:37:46] the captain, the quarterback, and he's going to run the ship. I was like, they're not going
[00:37:50] to let you do that, man. I don't think this is going to work out for you. And I probably
[00:37:55] predicted him to be my first boot. Fast forward, final six. This is where he goes out. He has
[00:38:00] been a top notch character, one of the best new era characters that we've seen on the
[00:38:05] show. He seems to be both willing to laugh at himself and also to set the record straight
[00:38:11] on anything that he feels like he would like to clarify. I feel like not many personalities
[00:38:17] can go out there and present cameos that you feel like they've put their heart and soul
[00:38:23] in, which he has. And honestly, I think the number one thing for me is with this announcement
[00:38:30] that Survivor 50 is looming and it's going to be a returnee season. I feel like Q has
[00:38:36] earned himself a spot on the ballot from the new era. I think, and I think that's a hard
[00:38:40] thing to say because I genuinely think there's a lot of good characters on the new era. And
[00:38:44] I think Q is a shoe in now.
[00:38:46] A Q in.
[00:38:47] Yeah.
[00:38:48] I, it's so interesting because I don't know how I feel about if Q were to return because
[00:38:55] obviously stellar character, like absolutely fantastic. Never knew what was going to happen
[00:39:00] next. Um, which may be that is a good argument for why he should come back because Lord knows
[00:39:06] Q gets a second chance. What merch idea is he going to come up with next? Like who knows
[00:39:10] that what's what's the endless exactly. I mean, he's got to keep promoting those cameos
[00:39:15] as well. Like that would give him a good, a good Avenue. Uh, but I think he, I agree
[00:39:21] with who, yeah, he absolutely from my initial perception of him out kicked his coverage
[00:39:26] in terms of performance. Like I had, I was like, there's no way and we'll get to it with
[00:39:30] the predictions. But essentially I was like, there's no way this, my way or the highway
[00:39:34] man is going to survive throughout the pre-merge. And you know what he did and made final six,
[00:39:41] which I mean, and basically it was one big mistake away from making the finale as well.
[00:39:47] And like maybe making final four, which is wild. That's the other thing as well. Like
[00:39:53] I can't think of another survivor experience where someone was so dead in the water. Like,
[00:39:59] yes, we have had people on the losing ends of the votes and in minority alliances and
[00:40:04] kind of watch their Alliance get picked off. But again, Q was in this very unique situation
[00:40:09] where he was the BMOC for the first half of this game. I mean, let's remember it might
[00:40:15] not have been the most delicate approach, but like he seemed to be in the middle of
[00:40:19] Yanu. He cobbled together this very, very ill fated six person Alliance. And he was
[00:40:26] the one that dictated the Mariah votes said Tim had to go. And basically in the, he was
[00:40:33] the only one to build his game up and he was the only one that could break his game down
[00:40:37] when he decides in that moment to say, nah, vote me out. I'm good to go tonight. Then
[00:40:44] he just becomes public enemy number one, but somehow by the grace of the survivor gods,
[00:40:51] he stays and it's not just a, Hey, we're going to take out somebody else and keep Q
[00:40:55] and then get rid of him next time. He stays for three votes where he is the target where
[00:41:01] he gets votes at all those tribal councils in a row to the point where to Puya's earlier
[00:41:07] point, it comes so full circle where he says, I know I heard my name tonight, but I've been
[00:41:12] hearing my name the past three weeks. That means you know what that means? I'm safer
[00:41:16] than I've ever been. I'm not playing my idol just speaks to what an absolute maniacally
[00:41:23] beautiful character this man is to what both of you said.
[00:41:28] I love the fact that like he is incredibly serious, especially with, you know, everything
[00:41:33] back to why does my road have to be the hardest and the Burdette fumbles complete with the
[00:41:37] Friday night light sound effects as he's recounting that time. But then he also does things like
[00:41:42] today we're going to play hide and seek, but it's actually a test for me to, to figure
[00:41:46] out whether you're all too good or too bad. I'm still going to go after you. Like he really
[00:41:53] was a box of chocolates. You never knew what you were going to get each and every week
[00:41:57] Q expressed that himself to me. He said that he never told anybody anything that he was
[00:42:03] doing, including production. He would just come up with things on the fly of like, yes,
[00:42:07] I think I will deprive this woman of the Applebee's that she goes to every week with her daughter
[00:42:13] on a reward. I'm fine with that. This man was flying by the seat of his Q skirt and
[00:42:19] it was an incredibly, incredibly enjoyable experience. To your point Puya, I am curious
[00:42:26] to see what a Q.0 would look like. Um, just because coach, at least when he came back
[00:42:32] for heroes versus villains, he was kind of in on the joke, but was still doing coachy
[00:42:36] things because it was so soon after token sheens. I do wonder what Q come in like a
[00:42:42] bit more aware, you know, and would that lose a bit of a luster in the character? It seems
[00:42:47] near impossible and health. If Tony Blanco's can come back and still recreate magic every
[00:42:53] time, seemingly from a television perspective, Q could, could do the same thing. But regardless,
[00:42:59] I am so, so happy we got this experience from this man and especially to have him experience
[00:43:06] so much of the tops and the bottoms of survivor and still go out kind of in a combination
[00:43:11] of both. Yeah, it's what's funny is I've thought about the prospects of him coming back. Right?
[00:43:19] And if this was immediately next season, for example, I think the combination of being
[00:43:25] in on the big mistake, the Q skirt, the Q me out. I think we would have seen Tony and
[00:43:29] game changers from him is the vibe I'm getting a little more time, a little extra time to
[00:43:35] reflect, think, look at discourse. I don't know how involved he's going to be in like
[00:43:38] analysis slash like watching the future seasons through like a strategic lens. I don't know.
[00:43:44] I don't know, but I think there's a world where we get like a, like a Q point. Oh, that
[00:43:49] is a more mature Q which could be different, but I'm will tell. I, I know we're talking
[00:43:58] about like him potentially in a future season, but I still really, I want to know what he
[00:44:04] would have done in the final tribal. Like how, again, without any of the self-reflection
[00:44:09] without being able to see the commentary that like, how does Q spin this? Like what does
[00:44:13] Q say about that vote where he just volunteered to go home? Does he fabricate some story
[00:44:19] about like, I did it on purpose and blah, blah, blah. Like I just, I would have loved
[00:44:23] to have seen him have to concisely clearly explain his actions and motivations throughout
[00:44:30] the game. Maybe if he does come back for 50, like we'll get an opportunity to do that,
[00:44:34] but we'll, we'll have to wait and see. I mean, I guess the good news from Q's perspective
[00:44:38] is that he would have an immaculate story to tell, which is granted I put myself in
[00:44:45] this position, but I was absolute dead meat. I basically was already swimming to Ponderosa
[00:44:55] and somehow I clawed my way up from the bottom due to the help of maybe some people sitting
[00:45:00] here and here I am right now. So please vote for me to win a million dollars that I admit
[00:45:07] I do not need in this moment.
[00:45:08] Well, maybe he didn't come out and say it like Liz, but you know, yeah.
[00:45:15] Well, so all that being said, I mean, we talk about maybe our preseason assessment of Q
[00:45:22] not necessarily matching up to the real deal. So I'll start with Q here because I had Q
[00:45:32] going right before the jury. I thought that he'd probably be one of our mid game boots.
[00:45:38] Basically you go out in the Tim spot. I said that Q is, I should say Brent Steele was the
[00:45:44] one that determined this one. Q is by far the most vocal person on his tribe, let alone
[00:45:48] the season when it comes to challenges. Every week we'll all be treated to a pre and post
[00:45:54] game chat with coach Q, which will wear on everyone in the game. Despite his public behavior
[00:46:00] wearing thin quickly, Kenzie and Tiffany remain loyal to him in the pre-merge due to
[00:46:05] challenge strength. Towards the end of the pre-merge, Q volunteers himself to go on a
[00:46:09] journey where he'll finally get to interact with his fellow Mississippi boy, Hunter. The
[00:46:14] two immediately click and make a plan to work together. Once the merge hits, Q pulls a Bruce.
[00:46:21] Being in the safe group in mergatory, he'll push hard for the SIGA coalition to get broken
[00:46:25] up, but angry and paranoid about the new bond between the Mississippi men, his Yanus
[00:46:31] will turn on him and blindside Hunter. After fumbling hard, Q attempts to recover the ball
[00:46:36] and keep going, but he's tackled after only a few more yards. The easy vote during the
[00:46:41] split tribal council making him the last pre-juror. Also after Nami and Yanu do come
[00:46:47] together to eventually take down SIGA, Q will insist on taking credit on social media because
[00:46:53] he will not be there to do so in the moment. His closest ally was Hunter and his enemy
[00:46:59] was himself.
[00:47:00] Oh yeah, classic. Well look, you definitely had, you slash Bran Steele had a better prospects
[00:47:09] for Q than I did. I'm going to blame Pouya on this one. No, I like, I shared the same
[00:47:18] sentiments that I just felt, especially from even the interview with you, Mike, I was like
[00:47:22] this man, Oh my God. I can't. So anyway, needless to say, my prediction was not exactly the
[00:47:30] most optimistic. I had Q as pre-jury and I said that Q starts the game shot out of a
[00:47:37] cannon like he's running the 40 yard dash at the NFL combine. As you can imagine this
[00:47:42] intense my way or the highway attitude rubs his tribe the wrong way. In particular, he
[00:47:47] annoys the trio of Kenzie, Tiffany and Jess when he makes an offhanded comment about them
[00:47:53] working together because they're putting flowers in their hair. I don't know if you remember
[00:47:58] that from your interview.
[00:47:59] I do. Yes. And this maybe should have been the precursor for Q that he walked in with
[00:48:04] his full muscle filled chest and was like, nobody else has been seeing it, but I've been
[00:48:09] seeing it. These one woman had a flower in her hair. Then the next day two did the next
[00:48:14] day three. I see something going on and I'm going to nip it in the bud. Exactly. But meanwhile,
[00:48:20] again, this is in my prediction that that trio, they were the palm front hat gang, PFH
[00:48:24] gang. What up? Anyway. So when Yonu loses their first immunity challenge, it's an easy
[00:48:31] decision for the women who bring in Banu as their fourth vote, realizing he's on the outs,
[00:48:36] my birthday buddy, cause we share the same birthday spends a lot of time.
[00:48:40] Well, same, not year, but you get what I mean. Spends a lot of time running around the Island,
[00:48:45] frantically searching for an idol, but doesn't find one. His ally was Jalinsky and his enemy
[00:48:53] was the PFH gang. What up? See, it's interesting because I feel like if you just like shift
[00:48:59] things one place to the left, you go to like a slightly different alternate universe. You're
[00:49:03] basically describing Jalinsky. Yeah, I know. Right. Um, which is so funny. It's yeah. It's
[00:49:10] always great to read these back because you're just like, Oh, well so close, but so far.
[00:49:18] Oh yeah. How so close were we? So I have a question and the question is directly on
[00:49:22] a, when's the last time you won the predictions? I don't know. Like who keeps track of these
[00:49:29] things? I am sure I won last time. How dare you wait? Why are you saying that? Why are
[00:49:36] you asking that question? That's what hell is us, bro. No, earnestly asking earnestly.
[00:49:42] I'm a, I'm a, I'm a fan of statistics. I like looking at it. You don't know me like that.
[00:49:49] Maybe I'm into, maybe I'm into statistics on the download. You don't know. Yeah. I'm about them
[00:49:57] permutations and combinations, fam. What of it? You know, send me those statistic picks that
[00:50:02] I want to see it. Mike has won this round. Okay. Mike has won Mike. Listen, the funny thing with
[00:50:10] Mike's is had he just removed the word pre from his pre jury and just said, jury kind of nailed
[00:50:18] everything up until like three episodes ago. Right? Like it worked out all the way down to
[00:50:22] the, they take Hunter out and he's, he was like not there. So yeah. Yeah. Basically, basically what
[00:50:28] I was banking on was that these two guys would connect and they're like, great. We're running
[00:50:32] things, but they are so brazenly open about it that everyone says no and takes them out back to
[00:50:36] back, which I mean, it was between the two of them at one point, but thank goodness we had to,
[00:50:42] to survive quite a few more rounds. And suffice it to say, I don't think either one of us or maybe
[00:50:47] anybody in the world could have predicted even chew himself that he would play the way he did.
[00:50:52] I know. And, um, and I think that that's just what makes it so surprising. And I think also
[00:50:57] what makes this season so unpredictable is the fact that I can look at a cast. I can look at
[00:51:02] someone and be so certain that this person will flame out early and be so, so wrong about that,
[00:51:09] both Venus and Q. I mean, that is just such a delight to watch people. Okay. I don't know if
[00:51:16] Excel is the right word, but look, make it far into the game and be able to get to know them
[00:51:21] better. It's it's just, it's really enjoyable and also very wild all at the same time.
[00:51:26] It's so rare. I feel like to have someone experience all the avenues a game can take you
[00:51:33] starting with top of your tribe, but then your tribe is bottom of everything. Your tribe's just
[00:51:40] getting hits and hits and hits and you're withering away. Then he goes on this journey. He meets his,
[00:51:47] his, his savior in Hunter and Tim forms this group. And then for a while, for a second,
[00:51:53] there, it looked like you put together quite a bit of an onion plus one Alliance thing going.
[00:51:58] That's pretty good. And then you're feeling like you're top of the world. Then that crashes,
[00:52:03] then you're not even on the bottom. You're on the outs. So you might as well leave on the boat
[00:52:09] because no one's going to play a game with you. Then you have Maria, then you have a sliver of
[00:52:12] hope that you survive three slow. And then you find an idol and your best ally wins immunity.
[00:52:17] And the final five is right there. You're on top of the world. Then you go home. It's not,
[00:52:22] not many can say they've experienced this kind of journey. Absolutely not. I, to the honest point
[00:52:28] about again, though, the really great editing, which I completely agree with. I mean, we also
[00:52:32] get a big rarity in survivor, which is we got all of the votes down to the voting confessionals
[00:52:39] as well. I'm intrigued from both of your perspectives. Did you think in the moment
[00:52:42] that meant, okay, they're setting this up for Q to play the idol or were you legitimately
[00:52:48] thinking he wouldn't do it? I didn't think he would do it. I felt like the conversations with
[00:52:54] Maria and Q felt so certain, like so done. Like it wasn't even like a debate that it was happening
[00:53:01] in my opinion. So for me, I felt like, oh my God, he's not going to play the idol. He's going to go
[00:53:07] home. And like, we're watching this train wreck, like car crash happen. And that's why we're
[00:53:13] being shown it because it's not gonna like, it's not going to happen. And it also feels like such
[00:53:18] a capstone to the whole, you know, Q idol smoke screen situation that's been occurring like the
[00:53:24] past few weeks. So that, that was my read. I don't know if you felt any differently.
[00:53:29] So for me, obviously I've been battling with the, he is, he won't, he is, he won't, she is,
[00:53:36] she won't on like three episodes in a row now. That being said, when it came to Q,
[00:53:41] obviously when the conversation between him and Maria happened about, okay, well, if you
[00:53:45] don't win the immunity, I can use it on you, whatever. I was like, okay, it sounds like he's
[00:53:49] willing to use it. And maybe we'll see our first use. What was the proof for me that I too,
[00:53:54] like Liana didn't think it was going to happen is when Charlie talked to Maria about it. We didn't
[00:54:00] see a scene of Maria talking to Q about it. And I was like, that's it. This is not going to happen.
[00:54:05] There's no shot. She goes to him and she says, you might get a vote, but I think you're safe.
[00:54:09] Yeah. And listen, I held out hope, or I guess I held out expectation because Q did say he was
[00:54:16] waiting for if a spook or a Duke happened at tribal council. Unfortunately for him,
[00:54:21] Liz already did a Duke earlier. I think if she had done one in that moment and it came out,
[00:54:26] I think there's a chance he might've played the idol.
[00:54:28] Oh, maybe, maybe. I don't even know what, like what, yeah. What would have,
[00:54:37] it just feels like nothing that could happen in this season would convince anybody to play an idol.
[00:54:43] Yeah. I mean, these people have several of these people, it's nearly been seven at this point,
[00:54:47] we're at five, have been told basically like to their face, like, yeah, you are getting at least
[00:54:51] one vote. These people are like, yeah, but if I don't, if I don't play this tonight, I'm going
[00:54:56] to get them all in the end. So let me just keep it. And as a result, it's basically been this
[00:55:02] recycling program where it seems like every two days someone will sit down and say, here you go.
[00:55:07] And they're like, all right, let's dust it up and put it in a tree tomorrow and see if we can do
[00:55:12] this again successfully. Yeah. They're just trying to combat, you know, the deforestation
[00:55:17] of Fiji. So they like bumped up their recycling program. This is just an idol recycling program.
[00:55:23] Oh boy. Okay. Well, speaking of recycling programs, we're going to recycle a game that
[00:55:34] we played before. Nailed it. That was really good. Thank you. I have put together. Well,
[00:55:43] I didn't really, whatever. Let's just play Scattergories baby. All right. So Bloom,
[00:55:50] Huya, Zan, Vakili. It's up to the two of you to try it now. This is going to be at my discretion.
[00:55:56] So good luck. Oh no. Are you a harsh judge? I know, especially for one of these, I'm not a
[00:56:04] hundred percent sure on exactly how I'm going to judge this. Some are like factual and other are
[00:56:11] purely, I believe suggest the suggestive. So anyway, I have put the, oh, it's formatted weird.
[00:56:17] I put the list of items in our private chat for the listeners at home. What they're going to have
[00:56:23] to do is I'm going to spin a wheel, get a letter, and then Mike and Huya will have to write something
[00:56:28] down for each one of these categories. The categories are name a survivor player. It could
[00:56:34] be first name or last name. We're we're open here. An item at camp, a reason medical would check on
[00:56:41] you, a reward item, a reason you would get voted out an advantage in the honor of this season.
[00:56:51] Someone who went home with an idol. Oh, that's going to be very easy. If you end up with the
[00:56:56] letter Q. Q Q. And then the last one, which I don't actually have the full list of everything
[00:57:04] Liz is allergic to but I'm just going to go based on what I know about what Liz is allergic to. So
[00:57:09] best of luck. That one is not going to be factually checked by anybody. So that's the
[00:57:15] last category. Something Liz is allergic to. Oh boy. Okay. So those are your categories. I will
[00:57:22] give you two minutes to start. And yes, Puya. I'm just putting the categories in a Google sheet and
[00:57:31] in columns so that I can write them down. Smart. Do you do you have them? You have them. You copy
[00:57:39] and pasted. Did good job. Yeah. Oh, why are you talking to me like I'm a baby?
[00:57:46] This is her Kenzie impression. She's just like, oh, are you a good boy?
[00:57:50] The family dog. Yeah. Also, it's because this is like I'm playing against a Titan.
[00:57:55] This is this the same man who was like, wait, the episode title had two consonants. Yeah.
[00:58:00] This is season 14, episode eight. The episode this man sneezed in this woman went home like
[00:58:06] the I am the underdog. Okay. Oh my God. That's actually so funny. You bring that up because that
[00:58:12] game is my Roman empire. Like every once in a while, that game just pops my head and I'm like,
[00:58:17] what is wrong with Mike bloom? Like it's so sad. Also so sad all at the same time.
[00:58:23] Yeah. It really was. I think a moment to just hold a mirror up to myself where I sort of had
[00:58:27] my own survivor 46 moment where I'm like, am I too obsessed with survivor? No, I'm good.
[00:58:32] I'm confident in myself. I'm fine. I'll keep the idol. Yeah. Oh my God. It's great. Yeah. The game
[00:58:38] that I thought was going to be, I was going to be low scoring. Mike does like feasting everything.
[00:58:43] Anyway, whatever. Well, yeah, you're going to do fine. I believe in fingers crossed.
[00:58:47] Exactly. Exactly. Okay. So let me spin at the wheel and I am going to spin the wheel.
[00:58:55] Q. I don't think Q is on here. Oh, no, it's not. Okay. Your letter is K. K. Okay. K. Okay. So I'm
[00:59:06] starting the timer. Go. So while they think I will vamp first, let me repeat it. The categories
[00:59:16] are name a survivor player, an item at camp, a reason medical would check on you reward item
[00:59:23] reason you would get voted out and advantage someone who went home with an idol and something
[00:59:30] Liz is allergic to. So again, that one is purely based on fives, which actually is really funny
[00:59:37] because speaking of Liz, there was one other Liz moment that well, by the way, Liz, Liz is like
[00:59:41] turning into that background character that I'm just absolutely obsessed with and like her in the
[00:59:47] immunity challenge and then her when she she like made the dolphin noise and then she was
[00:59:52] bleeding. She's like, oh, I'm bleeding. And also Jeff said something in the immunity challenge that
[00:59:59] sounded so shady, which I'm very happy to have sassy Jeff around. But he said Liz has a piece
[01:00:05] mark that down, which I think if I were to ever be on Survivor, that's the thing that I would want
[01:00:10] Jeff to say to me. OK, one minute has elapsed. You have one minute remaining to fill out your
[01:00:18] scatagory. Gorey's, I guess, is what you would call them. I don't know. Can you repeat all the
[01:00:24] categories? I think I'm missing one of them, but I'm still thinking so go for it. Yes. Name a
[01:00:28] survivor player item at camp. A reason medical would check on you reward item reason you would
[01:00:36] get voted out advantage someone who went home with an idol and something Liz is allergic to.
[01:00:43] It's eight. It's a lot. But lots of opportunities for points, also lots of opportunities for no
[01:00:52] points. We shall see. You have 10 seconds. Oh boy. In your final answers now. OK, I think I got it.
[01:01:03] You have three to one pencils down, baby. Excel spreadsheets down, baby. I'm paranoid. Was the
[01:01:13] letter K. Yeah. OK, good. I did. I just forgot. I panicked. OK, I think to go back to your earlier
[01:01:23] point, Oleana, I completely agree. The one that got me besides her directing her maze with her
[01:01:29] bleeding leg was I don't know if you noticed this when Jeff announced the dolphin puzzle.
[01:01:34] She made a dolphin noise. Yes, yes. That's what I'm saying. Yeah. She was so excited about the
[01:01:39] dolphin puzzle. She maybe she was someone who, you know, this little like dolphin figurines that
[01:01:43] like existed. I feel like when we were kids, maybe she had some of those. She was just like
[01:01:47] excited about that again. OK, let's get started. Mike, we'll go to you first. Name a survivor
[01:01:54] player. I went with someone in the league with Jalinski in terms of iconic first boots. I went
[01:02:00] with Knight, Zane. Ah, yes. Acceptable. I accept first and last names. OK, Pouya. I went with what
[01:02:09] the hell, guys? Kelly now Bandian. Oh, OK, great. And by the way, if you both say the same thing,
[01:02:15] you get zero points. Yeah, yeah. Well, there might be a couple of these. We won't be reaching that
[01:02:21] point. OK, name an item at camp. Pouya, you can go first. Knife. Oh, well. Oh, and Mike said
[01:02:33] khaki pants. Accept it. OK, that's an item. People will leave their khakis around camp. Yeah.
[01:02:42] You're not taking those to a challenge. These are good dress pants.
[01:02:47] I mean, you can also take them to a challenge. That's a precluded
[01:02:51] covered in mud and Liz's blood. Yeah, exactly. It's a biohazard. OK,
[01:02:57] a reason medical would check on you. Mike. Knee fell off.
[01:03:06] Sorry, I can't make it to the drawer challenge. My knees falling off. I got to back up my knee.
[01:03:12] I would have a buff to secure my girl with the knee be. I like the idea you could have gone
[01:03:17] with like knee injury, knee dislocation, anything like that. Yeah, but yeah, but if
[01:03:23] that's the case, I don't know medical is doing it. They might just be like, hey, walk it off
[01:03:26] like medicals. Definitely. Dr. Joe's going to come ASAP if it's like, hey, Mike's knee is not here.
[01:03:33] I think he lost it at some point. And you also lost it. So not only did it fall off, but you
[01:03:40] also lost it. My knees missing my knee is me missing. Talk about no cap. Oh,
[01:03:53] from kneecap to no cap. OK, Pouya, what do you have? I'm not giving you a point for that.
[01:03:59] You're not going to give me a point for knee fell off. Knee fell off. Someone would investigate
[01:04:04] you if your knee fell off. OK, let's see what Pouya has to say. Can you if he can make an
[01:04:08] argument? I wrote kidney pain slash stones. Yeah, OK. Like that's real. Come on, Mike.
[01:04:15] Get it together. I think you can find at least three cases in the world history of someone's
[01:04:21] knee falling off. I should hope so. There's like billions and billions of people like.
[01:04:25] Yes, exactly. He will fall off. I don't think that's an exact medical diagnosis of knee fell
[01:04:33] off. Maybe there's a symptom, yes, there's official name of a syndrome. OK, I will be happy
[01:04:41] to revise after the fact if someone can argue a better argument for knee fell off than what you're
[01:04:48] giving me. Have you heard of leprosy? All right. Knee skin fell off. If you wrote that, that would
[01:04:55] is that not part of the knee? No. Yeah. At best, if you had said knee collapse, you would have been
[01:05:01] fine based on what I'm reading. All right. Well, this is what I get for trying to be creative.
[01:05:05] Yeah, exactly. No, they didn't get they didn't get Van Gogh in his time back inside the bar. Yeah.
[01:05:13] What did you have for a reward item? Mike, that's the question.
[01:05:17] We'll see. We'll see. Yeah. You have to go first. I have to go first. Yeah. Right.
[01:05:23] Listen, it's a classic. Well, I won't kidney beans.
[01:05:27] Just real kidney focused. It's kidney beans. Yeah, but when do they get kidney beans as a
[01:05:33] reward? We don't get to examine all the beans, but some of them must be of the kidney variety.
[01:05:38] I'm sure of it. I'm sure of it. I'm sure of it. The bean tally. I look at if you look at kidney
[01:05:47] beans, they look like the beans that they'll be eating on some seasons. So, yes, I guess they do
[01:05:53] give them they give them that at the start. And I guess they do technically nowadays win like
[01:05:58] yeah, basic staples. Yeah. I mean, listen, I'll be honest with you. I knew she had knives and I was
[01:06:03] like, I can't go knife and knife. So I changed it to kidney beans. Yeah. I need a knife personally.
[01:06:10] Yeah. Yeah. Just in general. I like kayak trip. OK. Yeah. I remember token sheen's when
[01:06:20] yeah, when on a kayak trip down the Rio Negro. There you go. OK. And I'm going to give you kidney
[01:06:26] beans also because boom, better knee fell off. OK. Reason you would get voted out. All right.
[01:06:33] Roll with me. No, that's close. Kids were missing you and you asked to be voted out.
[01:06:41] OK. Yeah, I accept that like homesickness. Yeah. Like the Kathy Slechman, if you will. Another
[01:06:47] pay castaway. Right. Not goats, though, like like human children. Yes. No, not baby goats.
[01:06:54] Sorry, I got to go. My goats need me. Yeah. Yeah. Like Big Tom might have had that
[01:07:00] legitimate horse in the race. Goats in the race. Oh, my God. Imagine getting the like,
[01:07:05] obviously, I'm very to be 100 percent clear, like I'm not making light of anybody who's
[01:07:09] gotten a phone call about needing to leave to see family members just to be 100 percent clear.
[01:07:13] But imagine that phone call. My goats need me. OK, Pouya, why did you get voted out?
[01:07:25] All right. Work with me on this one or see if you can you get on my wavelength, OK?
[01:07:29] OK. You could get voted out for knocking on too many doors, aka doing too many deals and
[01:07:35] approaching too many people. Oh, it could be using euphemisms here. Yeah. OK. It's creative.
[01:07:41] I like that. I accept that answer. But how about an advantage? OK, so I did
[01:07:53] Kit comma Idol making. Remember when Debbie got the idol making kit? I know it's a bit out of order,
[01:08:00] but that's what I ultimately went with. Yeah, I like that. Pouya, I'm nervous for whatever you're
[01:08:06] going to answer here. I want to preface this by saying I'm pretty sure I nailed it. OK, good.
[01:08:15] And if I hear any objection, I would like to play my English as my second language card.
[01:08:21] Oh, OK. Casa the Charmin. Well, that's not even dealing with English. That's the problem.
[01:08:30] It's with. Listen, it can be with a K, but I'm also realizing as I say that that is a reward and not an advantage.
[01:08:38] So yeah, like it might be an advantage for Liz. It's a little hot that you can chill in.
[01:08:43] That's an advantage. You get the rest. Yeah, I guess next time I'll be more clear about what I
[01:08:49] mean when I say it. Remember when I asked you, can you name all the categories? I think I missed one.
[01:08:54] I missed the advantage and I had 10 seconds, so I had to throw something in it. I couldn't think of anything.
[01:08:59] OK, yeah, no, I should get the point there. I should get the point there. Yeah. And you get zero points.
[01:09:05] OK, someone who went home with an idol. Pouya. Me? Yeah. I went with the great Kelly Kim.
[01:09:16] Yeah, same. There's that. It's really the only option. I know. I was impressed that I thought of one, to be fair.
[01:09:23] Creative like, yeah, I don't know how that would work. OK, so neither of you get a point.
[01:09:29] But although you both answered correctly, you said the same thing. And we're going to close
[01:09:33] things out with something Liz is allergic to. Mike Bloom. Kiwi. Yes, that way that one's actually right.
[01:09:42] She is allergic to kiwi. OK, I'm pretty sure she could only eat apples like she couldn't eat any of
[01:09:46] the other fruit in the fruit basket. Yes. Yes, because there was something. Yes. OK. I distinctly
[01:09:51] remember that as well. OK, so Mike has a point. Pouya, are you going to be able to match him here?
[01:09:57] Something very rarely said on this podcast. Mike has a point. Mike has a point. Yeah. OK.
[01:10:02] Kleenex. She's allergic to Kleenex. Yeah. Like the tissue paper. Yeah. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
[01:10:11] Yeah. Is that provable? Oh, well, that doesn't really matter because I'm sort of making this up as we go.
[01:10:19] However, I feel like I it was implied that it was a food item based on the fact that Liz has really
[01:10:26] pretty much only talked about allergic to food items. That implied what it was. Was it in the
[01:10:32] fine print implied or were you just making stuff up as we go? No. My earlier answer was not Casa
[01:10:39] de Shaman. I'm sorry. I thought it was implied it was Casa de Idol Making Kit. Oh, right. I forgot
[01:10:46] about that. Yeah. So if we're implying things also, I just realized that we could have said
[01:10:50] Kelly Wentworth because of Edge of Extinction and would have counted for the other one.
[01:10:53] Brick. That's so. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. All right. But. OK. So no points there.
[01:11:05] OK. OK. But look, Pouya, you're doing better than you expected. OK. You have only one point behind
[01:11:11] Mike Bloom. Great points to Mike. Five points to Pouya. But don't worry. We're going to do it
[01:11:17] all over again. One more time. Let me spin the wheel and see what letter we're going to get
[01:11:22] this time. Oh, God. And again. Yeah. Q not on here. OK. We got K again. We're going to spin
[01:11:28] again. We're going to get OK. Kelly Wentworth. We love these. We love nice other knee fell off.
[01:11:36] Knee, left knee. Yeah. Knee, left knee. OK. W is your letter. So try to not think of what
[01:11:48] I'm going to say out loud. He may have forgotten. All right. Well, I'm going to put it as a
[01:11:51] placeholder. Maybe when I get to it, we can. Yeah, that's the move. I mean, you can also look at.
[01:11:56] OK, I'm going to start the timer now. We're going to begin that. But look, I'm just saying you could
[01:11:59] also go with a double bluff situation that one person won't put it. So it's a big prisoner's
[01:12:03] dilemma over here when it comes to Kelly Wentworth. All right. So some other ideas that I was
[01:12:11] bouncing around for this is. So we had one last time that was something Jeff would say to you,
[01:12:17] like a catchphrase, which I thought was funny. I was also trying to stick on the idol thing
[01:12:21] reasons you would or wouldn't play an idol. And then I have another idea that just says
[01:12:25] mermaid dragon question mark, which was not a fully formed idea. Something about like
[01:12:31] what animal like what would you want to be could not want to be compared to or guess?
[01:12:37] I don't know something Banu inspired, if you know what I mean. You have one minute and 15 seconds
[01:12:44] remaining again. The categories name a survivor player item at camp reason medical would check
[01:12:50] on you reward item reason you would get voted out advantage someone who went home with an idol
[01:12:58] and something Liz is allergic to parentheses food. Just to be clear, I mean, I guess I don't
[01:13:06] know what else she's allergic to. Hopefully she can she can validate some of these things.
[01:13:12] I am so curious as to what is going to happen in the finale, because Charlie called that group
[01:13:20] before the band of goons. And I just really want to know if the goons are going to be able to stick
[01:13:25] together and go to the final four or if we get an idol, are we going to get Maria winning immunity?
[01:13:32] Lord only knows. But what I know is that you have 20 seconds remaining. Oh, God.
[01:13:37] Warrior categories. It's time to panic. And also remember the double blow for what we're
[01:13:46] just think about it, because if neither of you put it,
[01:13:50] five seconds remaining. Oh, God. Time is done. Okay. Pencils down. Your letter is W.
[01:14:01] Just as a reminder, hopefully, Puya, you remembered W. Yeah, I'm very familiar with this letter.
[01:14:07] Yeah, because you take W's. I think you're better with L's. But yeah. All right.
[01:14:13] Who? Yeah. One, didn't I? I'm a W, right? That's what you meant. W. Just get on. When? Oh,
[01:14:24] well, Puya name a survivor player starts with a W.
[01:14:32] Wurttenberger, Zakk. Okay. It was like, like, as we all know. Oh,
[01:14:41] so due to like I went old school and initially I thought Wanda, but I thought is that too
[01:14:47] mainstream? Let me go with the second choice that came from the same season and said Willard Smith.
[01:14:52] Okay. Well, Immunity Idol, Willard Smith, you nailed it. You both get a point. The closest
[01:14:57] Will Smith will ever get to playing survivor. Hey, never know. Name an item at camp. Mike.
[01:15:06] I wrote water well and I'm nervous. We're going to new each other out here. All right. Puya?
[01:15:13] No, because my item is water. There's water. Water well and water like a water bottle.
[01:15:22] I mean, I will say that like he just said the element of water, which I mean, to be fair,
[01:15:29] you're actually not wrong. Yeah. The water bottle has another item. It's a two item,
[01:15:34] a water bottle. It's got water in it. That's the other item. Right. Is the ocean at camp?
[01:15:41] Is the ocean at camp? That doesn't count. I'm talking about drink water comma drinkable.
[01:15:47] Okay. Not potable water. I thought you would make an argument for it. Okay, fine. I'll count it.
[01:15:52] All right. I'll accept both of you for water. A reason medical would check on you. Puya?
[01:15:59] Wound comma deep. Oh, it hurts. Cut so deep. I've taken this comma thing from Mike and I'm just.
[01:16:08] There we go. That's the that's the that's the key. Come through teacher. Yeah, exactly.
[01:16:13] Uh, I wrote I wrote two. The first is do you want the one that's more
[01:16:18] obtuse or the one that will probably get me a point?
[01:16:23] You know, I'm going to leave the decision up to you. And I'm so curious if we can guess which one
[01:16:27] is which. Yeah, I'll say two and you can guess which one is which. So the first one, which I
[01:16:32] think will get me a point is worms and poop. Uh huh. Okay. Don't know why the poop had to be there
[01:16:38] if your worms are in your poop. It does kind of apply. You have like a stomach bug.
[01:16:42] True. I guess you get yeah, you could go with like worm in intestine.
[01:16:47] Well, where do you think it's going to go, Liana? But the second one that I feel good
[01:16:51] about that probably would get me the point is wash yourself in fire ants.
[01:16:56] Washed yourself in fire? You wake your bed. You wake up in a night terror. You're like,
[01:17:02] I got to wash myself and you just grab a handful of the because there's loose water at camp.
[01:17:07] According to Puya, do you just grab a handful of whatever you can find and you start scrubbing
[01:17:12] dubbing only to find out that they're fire ants. What animal takes dust baths? Where's
[01:17:18] Omer when you need elephants, right? Yeah. Elephants don't chickens also take dust baths.
[01:17:25] I love the idea of have bikes out there like a little elephant just rubbing dust on.
[01:17:30] I think the fire body will clean itself. If only you had gotten F is the letter.
[01:17:36] He could have gone just pure fire ants. Yeah, I would have just said fire come a felon.
[01:17:42] Oh yeah, I think I think that one before. Yeah. Speaking of Jeff probes as your
[01:17:50] witness. OK, wait. So back to Mike Bloom for a reward item. Watermelon. OK.
[01:17:59] Puya for a word item, I went with whole table of food.
[01:18:08] Not a half table, like an entire table of food. That's right.
[01:18:13] Just imagine Jeff introducing a whole table of food that kind of feels like he's overselling it.
[01:18:19] Like what's on the table, Jeff? What is the quantity?
[01:18:23] Table? Well, first of all, you have to come first, because otherwise, if you come in second,
[01:18:27] when there's the three tribes split, you get a whole table, a half table and then got nothing
[01:18:32] for you. Sorry for you. So yeah, look, it's a bit of a stretch, but I'll accept a whole table
[01:18:41] of food. I'm hoping to hear that from from Jeff. A reason you would get voted out, I believe.
[01:18:50] I can put it. Yeah, it is your.
[01:18:56] I wrote walking away from tribe for too long.
[01:19:00] Oh, interesting. OK, so right, right.
[01:19:04] OK, like abandoning the tribe essentially. All right.
[01:19:07] And Mike. Wow. Yeah, I went real.
[01:19:10] Occam's razor one too many challenges. Oh, I mean, yes.
[01:19:14] Yeah, that was challenges. Yeah, yeah.
[01:19:17] Yeah. One starts with one, not one.
[01:19:20] Yeah. OK, sorry. That took a second for my brain.
[01:19:22] Why would I write the number one too many challenges?
[01:19:25] Because you're number one, baby. Too many challenges.
[01:19:29] I don't know. I'm tired.
[01:19:32] OK, let's go to an advantage that starts with W.
[01:19:39] Well, Liana, you're looking lovely tonight.
[01:19:43] As I said, I mean, I don't think this is as much of a huge stretch, but I
[01:19:47] I did kind of girded a little bit winners at war fire token.
[01:19:54] Uh huh. I'll wait to hear Puya's answer to make a judgment.
[01:19:58] This is for the advantage. Correct.
[01:20:01] And you went with winners that war fire token like it's branded.
[01:20:06] It's too. All right.
[01:20:07] It bodes well for me that yours is this obscure because check this out.
[01:20:13] Wristband made by beads.
[01:20:17] That is an idol. I think Mike's is close.
[01:20:24] It's literally an idol that you make, which is the way you delivered it.
[01:20:29] You were like wristband made with beads like describing the whole table.
[01:20:34] I'm in character. This is my island guy or man.
[01:20:39] But like because who was this?
[01:20:41] Was it 43 where they had to steal the beads?
[01:20:45] I mean, is that what you mean?
[01:20:47] And what did they make? What did they make?
[01:20:48] Some would say a bracelet, but it's not. It's not metal.
[01:20:51] The wristband wristbands.
[01:20:54] OK, sure. We'll be lenient today.
[01:20:57] No, no. We'll be we'll be truthful.
[01:20:59] Yeah. Both both of you. Yes.
[01:21:02] OK. Two more.
[01:21:05] Someone who went home with an idol.
[01:21:07] I'm so excited for the prisoner's dilemma.
[01:21:09] Puya, what did you say?
[01:21:11] I mean, it's with an idol, right?
[01:21:12] So it has to be an idol. It can't be any other item.
[01:21:16] That is correct. Yeah.
[01:21:17] Yeah. Wentworth, Kama Kelly.
[01:21:19] OK. And Mike.
[01:21:22] So I left this category for last and I had about 20 seconds in my mind.
[01:21:26] I felt like Mike Bloom search of the Rolodex right now.
[01:21:29] See if you can find a person.
[01:21:32] And just the idea of idols sent me back to a little season called
[01:21:35] Island of the Idols.
[01:21:36] I know it's the one we don't want to think about,
[01:21:39] but believe it or not, up to this point,
[01:21:41] it did set the record for the number of people with idols
[01:21:44] and the number of idols that have been voted out in pockets.
[01:21:48] And one of those people was someone that a lot of people had
[01:21:50] a lot of preseason investment in only for her to be one of those few.
[01:21:56] And somehow, some way in the recesses of my demented mindscape,
[01:22:01] I pulled out Walker, Kama, Chelsea final answer.
[01:22:06] Oh, that's actually great.
[01:22:07] That is awesome because we both get points now.
[01:22:10] Yes, exactly.
[01:22:11] Thank you for your brain.
[01:22:13] At first, because I was trying to remember that season, unfortunately.
[01:22:17] But I was waiting for the stretch of like it's the island of the idols
[01:22:23] and some weird trickery that you were about to pull.
[01:22:28] So part of me was part of me was mentally ready to argue.
[01:22:35] Saying someone that didn't use their shot in the dark and be like,
[01:22:37] well, that's an idol.
[01:22:39] Oh, interesting.
[01:22:39] That's an idol.
[01:22:40] Sort of.
[01:22:41] They need to go there.
[01:22:42] So we're fine.
[01:22:42] We're fine.
[01:22:43] All right.
[01:22:44] Our last question.
[01:22:45] This is again up to interpretation unless like Kiwi, I remember it.
[01:22:51] Something Liz is allergic to.
[01:22:53] Mike, close this out.
[01:22:55] Walnuts.
[01:22:57] Is that true?
[01:22:58] Probably.
[01:23:00] Okay.
[01:23:01] There are many tree nuts she's talked about over the course of her time in Fiji.
[01:23:07] Wheat.
[01:23:10] Wheat.
[01:23:10] She does ask for gluten-free stuff.
[01:23:13] Okay, right.
[01:23:14] So now I'm going through my head because now I actually have to think about this.
[01:23:18] What do I know about what Liz is allergic to?
[01:23:20] She can eat Chinese food, but she cannot eat the pizza from Applebee's.
[01:23:25] But she can eat the burger from Applebee's.
[01:23:27] But she doesn't have the bun.
[01:23:29] If you looked at the file photo, there was no bun on the burger.
[01:23:32] Right.
[01:23:32] Okay.
[01:23:33] So Pouya definitely gets a point.
[01:23:35] Pouya definitely gets a point.
[01:23:36] Now we're back to Mike with walnuts.
[01:23:40] Now, is it a thing where like if you're allergic to one nut, you're allergic to all nuts?
[01:23:46] I don't know, Matt.
[01:23:48] All nuts are good nuts?
[01:23:50] All nuts are good nuts.
[01:23:51] Like if you're allergic to peanuts, that doesn't inherently imply that you're allergic to peanuts.
[01:23:55] Oh, true.
[01:23:57] Yeah, most people who are allergic to one tree nut are not allergic to other nuts.
[01:24:03] Okay.
[01:24:04] I'm trying to think if she ever mentioned walnuts.
[01:24:07] See, I don't think so.
[01:24:09] I'm gonna, I as Liz's not doctor at all whatsoever is going to say that I'm not.
[01:24:16] Yep.
[01:24:16] Not that kind of nut doctor.
[01:24:19] Okay.
[01:24:19] I'm gonna say that you're wrong, Mike.
[01:24:22] And that she is not allergic to walnuts.
[01:24:25] Because it wasn't explicitly mentioned because there was no reward that featured,
[01:24:29] hey, get have some walnuts.
[01:24:30] People was like, nah, thanks.
[01:24:32] I'm allergic.
[01:24:33] There were no rewards with Kleenex and you don't see me complaining, Mike.
[01:24:37] We don't know.
[01:24:39] Yeah, that was a bad answer.
[01:24:41] Okay.
[01:24:41] The only issue is, is that leaves us with a tie.
[01:24:44] So therefore I'm thinking of a number between one and 10.
[01:24:49] No rock, paper, scissors.
[01:24:51] Rock, paper, scissors.
[01:24:52] Goddammit, Maria.
[01:24:53] Yay.
[01:24:54] Okay.
[01:24:55] So it's going to be rock, paper, scissors, shoot.
[01:24:59] Okay.
[01:24:59] So you're gonna hit it on shoot.
[01:25:00] Very visible.
[01:25:01] Okay.
[01:25:01] And it's one and done.
[01:25:03] Whoever wins first wins.
[01:25:04] Okay.
[01:25:05] Before we proceed, Mike, what's the last show you watched?
[01:25:09] I would say, God, I watched a drag race before I was doing this.
[01:25:12] All right.
[01:25:13] Say less.
[01:25:13] All right.
[01:25:13] I'm ready.
[01:25:14] Okay.
[01:25:15] Rock, paper, scissors, shoot.
[01:25:19] No, that was so bad.
[01:25:22] That was horrible.
[01:25:24] And I wasn't even counting right.
[01:25:26] Like it was all just bad.
[01:25:27] Okay.
[01:25:27] Again.
[01:25:27] So they both threw paper to those.
[01:25:29] All right, Mike, what's the last song you listened to?
[01:25:31] A song from drag race.
[01:25:33] All right.
[01:25:33] Say less.
[01:25:37] Okay.
[01:25:37] You two do it on your own because the three of us together coordinating are not working.
[01:25:41] Okay, Mike, go for it.
[01:25:43] Okay.
[01:25:44] Rock, paper, scissors, shoot.
[01:25:48] It's not that hard.
[01:25:50] I went rock.
[01:25:51] I win.
[01:25:51] I feel like Puya cheated here.
[01:25:54] He's like.
[01:25:54] I didn't.
[01:25:54] I read his mind.
[01:25:56] I asked him to show things.
[01:25:57] No, you didn't.
[01:25:57] This is a hug jury.
[01:25:59] Jeff's not reading the verdict.
[01:26:00] Mike's the one who counted down.
[01:26:02] I'm not going to stand for this.
[01:26:04] I'm sitting.
[01:26:05] You were delayed with the rock, the paper, and this is magic that had happened out on
[01:26:10] the island.
[01:26:12] After I went rock.
[01:26:13] I will also say we didn't talk about this last week, but that was also low key.
[01:26:17] Savage was after Maria had to do rock, paper, scissors.
[01:26:20] I don't know if you notice after Liz lost, she went through with the formality of covering
[01:26:24] her rock for the paper.
[01:26:27] I'd be like, just I don't want to do this, but like we need to.
[01:26:30] It's just part of rock, paper, scissors.
[01:26:32] Yeah, exactly.
[01:26:33] Legally, you have to cover the other person's hand.
[01:26:36] That's so funny.
[01:26:37] Okay, so no one wins.
[01:26:38] You're both losers.
[01:26:44] What you're not going to do is Maria me out of my victory here, Liana.
[01:26:48] Yeah, I picked Jamie from last week as our winner.
[01:26:55] All right, I'm fine giving that to her.
[01:26:57] Okay, great.
[01:26:58] Congratulations to Jamie.
[01:26:59] Good job, Jamie.
[01:27:00] She had another person joining the sixth booth cup.
[01:27:02] I hope does this mean that now Q has to go to Oxford to meet Drew?
[01:27:06] I think so.
[01:27:07] I think that's what we discussed last week.
[01:27:09] I think it has to happen.
[01:27:10] He's got to go.
[01:27:11] Imagine lanky blanky rocking a Q skirt.
[01:27:13] Oh my God, I'd love it.
[01:27:16] Okay, that's our game.
[01:27:17] Congratulations, Jamie.
[01:27:20] Pooja, I imagine you're feeling a certain way right now, so let's bring it up to brighter
[01:27:25] prospects.
[01:27:26] Of course, at the end of every week, you're on the B&B.
[01:27:28] We give our guests an opportunity to highlight a charity or cause that is important to them.
[01:27:32] What have you got to highlight this week?
[01:27:35] I would like to highlight that Liana is a villain, and then I would like to highlight
[01:27:42] the charity that I went with is the Anxiety and Depression Association of America.
[01:27:48] Yeah, perfect.
[01:27:49] Yeah, I think given the showings of mental health and mental health awareness and anxiety
[01:27:54] that Ben is obviously undergoing and Kenzie, again, I think so beautifully spoke about,
[01:27:59] I think everyone deserves the chance to see those blue skies at the end of the clouds,
[01:28:04] no matter how stormy they are.
[01:28:05] And of course, we're all proponents of mental health here, and I think being able to find
[01:28:09] the resources to do it can be tough.
[01:28:11] And this is where things like the Anxiety and Depression Association of America help
[01:28:16] with providing that.
[01:28:19] 100%.
[01:28:20] All right, well, that's going to do it for the B&B.
[01:28:23] We've just got one more of these suckers.
[01:28:25] I mean, it's a big in.
[01:28:26] It's a three-hour finale, and to Liana's earlier point, I am intrigued to see what happens from
[01:28:31] here because again, I think people have been prognosticating a path that looks likely in
[01:28:36] a Kenzie or a Charlie win from an edit perspective, but this is Survivor 46.
[01:28:41] Convention has been thrown out the window from pretty much day dot.
[01:28:45] So we shall see.
[01:28:47] No matter what, it's going to be fun.
[01:28:48] We're going to have our not live live after show as well.
[01:28:53] I'm sure even without having like the benefit of watching the season back, these people
[01:28:57] will have a lot to say about everything.
[01:29:00] And maybe we'll get a preview of Survivor 40 several as well as we begin the offseason
[01:29:05] before we come back here in the fall.
[01:29:07] And we will actually be joined by someone who this time last year got to see himself
[01:29:12] talk about his bank robbing grandfather on the preview for Survivor 45.
[01:29:18] Brandon Donlan makes his BNB debut, which makes me very excited.
[01:29:22] He has kind of always been a BNB coded person even before he was on the show proper.
[01:29:27] So happy to have him on to finish off this season.
[01:29:30] But to finish off this podcast, always a delight to have you on.
[01:29:34] I am so sorry.
[01:29:35] I feel like I am the grandfather that robs you of this loss, but it was so great to have
[01:29:40] you on to talk about all things Q and beyond with this season.
[01:29:44] Pleasure is always mine.
[01:29:45] I had a good time here.
[01:29:47] I'm very excited for next week.
[01:29:48] Brandon is phenomenal.
[01:29:51] May he be left unrobbed, unlike myself.
[01:29:55] You cheated!
[01:29:56] You lost because you cheated.
[01:29:58] You can look at the tapes.
[01:29:59] I went rock, Mike went scissors right after.
[01:30:03] But you know, it doesn't matter.
[01:30:05] We win all because we had fun and something cheesy like that.
[01:30:09] Exactly.
[01:30:09] I definitely not going to harbor.
[01:30:11] All games are good games, according to Jeff Croce.
[01:30:14] Exactly.
[01:30:15] Well, I know that you have always a lot going on.
[01:30:18] Many irons in the fire like Charlie.
[01:30:20] You like to keep your options open in terms of podcast.
[01:30:22] So what are you covering at the moment?
[01:30:24] Yeah, I'm cooking with fire a little bit right now, but I'm having a good time doing it.
[01:30:27] Of course, I am talking 90 day fiance on a weekly basis.
[01:30:31] This past week, I did double ups on all my podcasts that I'd missed out on because I was
[01:30:34] in Chicago last week.
[01:30:35] So I had Kirsten McKinnis on with me to talk 90 day.
[01:30:38] Jenny and I talked about MILF Manor, which is easily the most unhinged podcast I do.
[01:30:43] I feel like it's the it's my full bloom podcast, if that makes sense.
[01:30:46] Mike, I think you'd be you'd be into it, quite frankly.
[01:30:50] The other podcast that I'm doing, of course, is with the lovely Liana Boris, both my favorite
[01:30:55] person in the world and my enemy now because of this last game.
[01:31:00] But we have a good time talking about the Mastinger always.
[01:31:02] You can check that out.
[01:31:04] And then I did a deep dive with you, of course, me, you and Taryn.
[01:31:08] Mike, we talked with me.
[01:31:09] What did I do?
[01:31:11] Yeah, we believe it or not.
[01:31:13] Yeah, I wake up in like a cold sweat on a reality show being like, oh my God, am I on
[01:31:17] Big Brother 26?
[01:31:19] No, we got to talk to Corey Tyler from the circle.
[01:31:22] It was a good time.
[01:31:24] And aside from that, I'm busy on Twitch, Twitch.tv slash tweet.
[01:31:26] That's where I'm when I'm not podcasting.
[01:31:28] Check it out.
[01:31:28] All right, Liana, anything else you'd like to plug in addition to Mastinger?
[01:31:32] Yes.
[01:31:33] In honor of Mike Bloom watching Drag Race and listening to Drag Race songs, I guess.
[01:31:41] I know.
[01:31:41] He did.
[01:31:42] He really did.
[01:31:43] He revealed all his cards.
[01:31:45] We're going to be bringing back the podcast, of course, for all stars and I.
[01:31:47] So Beth, Amon and I are going to be recording for the episodes of Dropped on Paramount Plus.
[01:31:52] And that we're going to record Monday evening, depending on when you're listening to this.
[01:31:55] But it will be out.
[01:31:57] And I'm very, very excited.
[01:32:00] All right.
[01:32:00] So you can, of course, check out my coverage of Survivor on Parade where I did get the
[01:32:04] chance to talk with Q, which was an absolute delight.
[01:32:07] He shed some light as to from his perspective, the circumstances that led to him volunteering
[01:32:12] to leave, which may or may not have been disputed by one of the parties involved in said information.
[01:32:18] So again, we get a lot of different stories that we sort of sift through to figure out
[01:32:23] what exactly the truth is.
[01:32:24] But regardless, the truth is that Q is such a fun character, especially to talk to as well
[01:32:30] about everything that happened.
[01:32:32] And I'm also not done talking about him just yet this week.
[01:32:35] That's because on Monday evening or late afternoon, 5pm Eastern to be specific, I'll
[01:32:42] be appearing on this week's Club Condo with Rob and Chappelle.
[01:32:47] So if for some reason you want to hear me talk more Survivor 46 nonsense, I'll be there.
[01:32:54] There will surely be a lot of silliness to talk about as we also eyeball the finale coming
[01:32:59] up.
[01:32:59] Additionally, The Amazing Race wrapped up this past season.
[01:33:04] This past week, of course, I got the chance to talk with Jess and Rob Cetranino return
[01:33:08] to the podcast for some wild stuff.
[01:33:11] I don't believe we've done a lot of prank calls in RHAP history.
[01:33:15] We did one of them this past week.
[01:33:17] So you can check that out as well as my interviews with three out of the final four teams.
[01:33:21] I have one more coming up on Monday.
[01:33:24] Speaking of race, I'll actually be hopping on the Hit or Quit podcast this Monday recapping
[01:33:29] the premiere of Race to Survive colon New Zealand season two of Race to Survive alongside
[01:33:35] Jenny Autumn.
[01:33:36] That was a very fun time.
[01:33:37] Hope people check out at least the podcast for that one.
[01:33:40] And then I'm also doing exit press for a couple of other reality shows on Parade as well.
[01:33:45] Got to speak with the finalists and the winner of Deal or No Deal Island for Parade, including
[01:33:50] Boston Rob, The Challenge All Stars, and The Goat too.
[01:33:54] As we start to segue into summer, as our critical mass of reality TV starts to ebb
[01:34:00] away and we approach Big Brother as I wake up in my cold sweats of the fact that I may
[01:34:06] or may not be on it, we shall see.
[01:34:08] But regardless, we still have one more hurdle to get over.
[01:34:11] And it's a loving hurdle.
[01:34:13] It is the finale of Survivor 46.
[01:34:15] That means one more opportunity for you to send us game ideas.
[01:34:18] You still can.
[01:34:19] RHAPBNB at gmail.com or hashtag RHAPBNB with any ideas that you have.
[01:34:25] Special thanks to the entire RHAP teams behind the scenes for making sure this podcast is
[01:34:29] packaged for your ears and eyes for your listening pleasure, as well as Amir Will from America
[01:34:34] for his fantastic theme song.
[01:34:35] Liana and I will be back next week with Brandon Donlan to wrap up the whole shebang of Survivor
[01:34:41] 46.
[01:34:42] Until next time, everybody, we'll check you out at your next day.
[01:34:48] You better pray to your mama that they're not super lame.
[01:34:52] And if that all sounds cool, I can tell you the name.
[01:34:57] It's the RHAPBNB.
[01:35:01] Mike and Liana gotta playin' some games.
[01:35:04] You better pray to your mama that they're not super lame.
[01:35:08] And if that all sounds cool, I can tell you the name.
[01:35:13] It's the RHAPBNB.
