[00:05:55] So that I don't have to be here because I am, I don't know.
[00:06:01] I knew, I knew, I knew from the first day, the very first day I said in my pregame press that I was
[00:06:07] obsessed with Kenzie. As soon as the morning happened when we were allowed to talk, I ran up to her
[00:06:11] and grabbed her hand and I was like, I'm so glad we're like, we're on the same tribe. I really
[00:06:16] want to work with you. And I was like, fuck, I should, I was like, I should not have said that
[00:06:21] your shot of other people. And I was just like, I really wanted to work with her.
[00:06:25] They didn't show that during the sweat task when when Jilinsky and Q were working on the sweat
[00:06:30] task that me, Banyu and Tifen Kenzie were all like working to build the shelter. And I actually
[00:06:35] talked to Tifen Kenzie for a very, very long time. Like all about our dogs, about our like homes,
[00:06:40] about our jobs, about all this different stuff. They didn't show any of that. So it makes it
[00:06:43] look like it, it makes it look like I didn't even try to talk to them
[00:06:46] Yeah, but we talked for a very long time and it became very clear to me that Kenzie was running around talking to everyone
[00:06:51] But me so it's like by the time she came to me and I was like I'm playing a slow game
[00:06:55] I was like why would I tell you anything like you're just gonna use it as ammo against me like I
[00:07:02] Like why would I tell you anything?
[00:07:04] so like, I don't, like, why would I tell you anything? So yeah, like, there's no way that I could put anyone's name
[00:07:09] out there that wouldn't backfire against me.
[00:07:11] Yeah. I want to talk about that idol that you had.
[00:07:14] Now you said that you played your fake idol going in,
[00:07:18] like what was your percentage wise that you thought it was fake
[00:07:21] when you played it at the time?
[00:07:22] I was like 99.99% You were like Eliza levels of this is a fake idol
[00:07:27] and I'm just doing it anywhere.

[00:08:05] I was so mad when they were like, you have to look for an idol now.
[00:08:08] Like, Kenzie looked at me, she was like, girl, you better play an idol tonight.
[00:08:10] I was like, whatever.
[00:08:12] I was like, I was like, why would I spend any more energy doing this?
[00:08:17] I'm so pooped.
[00:08:18] You guys have no respect for me.
[00:08:21] Like, what am I supposed to?
[00:08:23] And so, and then I was like,
[00:08:25] well, Jeff hates quitters.
[00:08:26] I guess I have to like throw my body around
[00:08:28] pretending to look for an idol,
[00:08:30] but I was just like praying for the bats
[00:08:32] to come and take me away.

[00:08:33] I knew they'd do that.

[00:08:36] Well, they were bats fighting at nighttime.
[00:08:38] I was like praying for them to come
[00:08:39] and just like air licking me out
[00:08:40] because I wanted to leave honorably.

[00:09:48] And maybe there would be some unintended consequences
[00:09:51] based off of that.
[00:09:52] Was that something that you were even considering doing,

[00:09:56] The very first tribal council, Q had told me,
[00:10:00] you might have to play your shot in the dark.
[00:10:02] But I was very certain that Jiliny was going home because he just everyone offered.
[00:10:07] For me, I was just living when he quit the sweat task and then was like live here around
[00:10:13] after they didn't show how messed up his feet actually were.
[00:10:16] He has like the softest baby hands and softest baby feet.
[00:10:19] And so I think that the sand and the rocks and stuff really did do a number on his feet,
[00:10:23] but I had I didn't actually understand that.
[00:10:25] I was just busy being mad at him.
[00:10:28] But I didn't look at his, I didn't examine his feet closely and I like, but, sorry, but
[00:10:33] yeah.
[00:10:34] So they were trying to get me to play my shot in the dark from the beginning.
[00:10:36] And I was like, why?
[00:10:38] Like, what did I do?
[00:10:40] I hadn't even disclosed to them that I was like sleepless until the second day or something
[00:10:44] like that or maybe the third day
[00:10:45] So I was like what did I do?
[00:10:47] But why did they want you do they want you to flush your shot in the dark so they could get you next time and then you wouldn't?
[00:10:51] Yes, yes
[00:10:57] So hard like why well, I mean it is new era. I guess you're supposed to make hashtag big moves. Yes, yes, okay.
[00:11:05] But I was like, we should be optimizing
[00:11:08] for like team unity and team cohesion
[00:11:11] and team drinks so we can get flint
[00:11:14] so that we can move into the merge with numbers.
[00:11:16] And I need to be able to hide behind these people.
[00:11:18] I do not want to go to tribal before the merge
[00:11:20] because I'm Asian, like hard, like just statistically,
[00:11:24] just look, just go online and'm Asian, like hard. Like just statistically just look,
[00:11:25] just go online and look like it's hard.
[00:11:27] I mean, you know, like it's just, yeah.
[00:11:31] Yeah.
[00:11:31] Okay, tell me about this tribal council
[00:11:33] because it seemed like that things really started
[00:11:36] to unwind for Banu and did any part of you
[00:11:40] start to feel like maybe it's not me tonight.
[00:11:43] Maybe it is Banu because he he was really reacting very very negatively.
[00:11:48] No, it was very very clear to me that it was me because the very first tribal council,
[00:11:54] they were kind of telling us to both put on shows and like act like we were going home
[00:11:59] and I was like this is just like weird and like why?
[00:12:03] Which told you that?
[00:12:04] What is the point? Like you, you wouldn't say it.
[00:12:07] I think it was mostly cute.
[00:12:08] He was kind of like the spokesperson.
[00:12:10] He was kind of like in between all of us.
[00:12:12] And I was like, okay, I don't understand,
[00:12:15] but it seems like overkill.
[00:12:16] And like, Bani was so passionate
[00:12:19] and like wears his emotions on his sleeves.
[00:12:24] And I was like, and I think the more he wears them,
[00:12:26] the more incensed he gets.
[00:12:29] And I was like, why would you do that to someone
[00:12:31] that's already suffering so much?
[00:12:33] So I was just kind of like, I knew it was me,
[00:12:37] and I just felt very sad.
[00:12:39] Even though I was smiling the whole time.
[00:12:42] Yeah.
[00:12:43] Were you aware that there was any sort of tension
[00:12:46] between the Q, Kenzie and Tiffany trifecta,
[00:12:51] where there was some concern?
[00:12:52] Obviously that Kenzie had come to you and said,
[00:12:55] hey, let's vote out Q.
[00:12:57] Did you know that Q was kind of rattled by that
[00:13:00] in his conversations with Tiffany?
[00:13:03] I know, I actually thought thought that I actually thought that like
[00:13:06] Kenzie had done that to get us away to give to give Q and
[00:13:11] TIFF a chance to plot something. I thought that they were very,
[00:13:15] very, very close. And I had floated Kenzie to them multiple
[00:13:18] times. I had sent to Q like we cannot trust Kenzie. She's like,
[00:13:22] you think she's so socially fast. She's going to eat.
[00:13:25] I've heard of the merch.
[00:13:26] I just kept saying that to Q and tip.
[00:13:28] I wasn't saying we have to vote her out,
[00:13:29] but I was trying to plant the seed of an idea in their heads
[00:13:32] that they should be careful.
[00:13:33] Because I kind of thought how effectively she iced me out.
[00:13:37] I was like, you guys need to be careful.
[00:13:40] You need to be careful.
[00:13:42] Because tip actually came to me the first night
[00:13:44] and was like, Jess, I feel like you were going to be careful because Tiff actually came to me the first night and was like Jess
[00:13:45] I feel like you were going to be straight up with me and
[00:13:48] And I was like yeah, and she was like I feel like you're gonna keep it real with me or not play games with me
[00:13:52] I was like yeah, yeah, yeah
[00:13:53] Like so I felt like I had I was in good standing with her
[00:13:56] But I think the perception of how I did in the challenge was what really didn't mean yeah
[00:14:00] Okay, let's talk about the challenge and just how grueling it was because like from watching at home, it seems like that maybe this went on for like at least
[00:14:09] an hour or plus that you guys were doing that. Is that accurate? Probably I have no concept
[00:14:15] of how long it's okay, but it was I actually think we took a lot longer than the other.
[00:14:20] Well, no, because they would have stopped it. Yeah. It was it took forever. And, and I just
[00:14:26] remember at every turn that everyone was yelling at me. It wasn't just fun. It was like every
[00:14:30] single person. But why were you such an escape goat for the tribe? Why did it all come down
[00:14:35] to Jess is the reason why we didn't win this challenge?
[00:14:39] I have a feeling that they like, I have a feeling that they understood that if they yelled at me it wouldn't
[00:14:46] blow back against them. That's all like that I would just be fine with it which I am I'm like
[00:14:51] whatever I don't care you can yell at me. I don't care. I like I'm like actually like very like
[00:15:00] I can't even say that I'm proud that I didn't lose my temper because I wouldn't have lost my temper anyway. So like it would have been very against characters in this
[00:15:08] September. I was like, whatever. I'm not torn yelling at you. Yeah. Yeah. Can you talk enough?
[00:15:18] It was good. Could you talk a little bit about your first couple of days with life with Jielinski?
[00:15:25] You talked about how you were upset with him
[00:15:27] about the quitting the savvy or the sweat task.
[00:15:31] That what else did we not get to see in the episode
[00:15:34] that would help us understand
[00:15:36] what these first couple of days were like with Jielinski?
[00:15:39] Okay, well, I'm gonna like to talk about
[00:15:41] my relationship with him now, and I love that kid to bit.
[00:15:44] I love him so much.
[00:15:45] But my perception of him then was, why are you quitting everything?
[00:15:53] How come everyone wants to work with you so badly when you've like you have not contributed
[00:15:57] anything even to building the shelter?
[00:16:00] He was like my perception was that he was just standing around like waiting for people
[00:16:03] to tell him what to do.
[00:16:04] And I actually like I wish they had aired my little lecture to him
[00:16:08] because at one point he's like, yo, Jess, I think broke the bottom.
[00:16:11] We sucked at the puzzle. I was like, you said the puzzle.
[00:16:13] I don't think I actually said you said the puzzle, but I might have said it
[00:16:16] to someone else. I was like, I just felt like everything you were saying to me
[00:16:20] was so sketchy and generic.
[00:16:21] And I was like, what is wrong with this person?
[00:16:23] Why did they want to keep him around?
[00:16:25] And he was like, I think I'm in trouble.
[00:16:27] And I was like, well, you need to rehabilitate
[00:16:29] your image around camp.
[00:16:30] You need to like start helping us.
[00:16:32] Like we had to rebuild our shelter after it broke the first day.
[00:16:35] You need to help us find pum prawns and do the bamboo
[00:16:39] and like collect the food and open the coconuts
[00:16:41] and help us do all this stuff.
[00:16:42] And he was just kind of not, I don't know what he was doing.
[00:16:45] He's probably looking for idols.
[00:16:47] They also didn't show that the first night he went looking for an idol.
[00:16:52] And actually he saved our life because we were all like sleeping inside the shelter
[00:16:56] and he left the shelter to go look for an idol.
[00:16:59] And we all came out of the shelter.
[00:17:01] Kenzie and Bono followed him and Tiff Q and I went through this part of the shelter.
[00:17:04] And then it like fell.
[00:17:05] But we would have gotten like brushed
[00:17:08] and he'd not gone idle hunting.
[00:17:09] And so thank you.
[00:17:10] You all still voted him out after he saved your lives.
[00:17:15] I had to because I don't want to be the first boo.
[00:17:17] That's true.

[00:17:19] No, let me just circle back to something
[00:17:21] that you said earlier about how that you were, you know,
[00:17:24] you were happy to have
[00:17:26] been able to been voted out by the tribe.
[00:17:29] Was it the people or was it the conditions that was what made this experience so difficult

[00:17:35] I think it was just, oh my God, I'm going to cry.
[00:17:37] I was like trying, like, there were these moments of just like, I was during the first
[00:17:44] part of the game,
[00:17:45] like the game relies so much on having people
[00:17:47] that you trust and connect with.
[00:17:48] And for me, that person was Bonnie.
[00:17:50] Like I love Bonnie so much,
[00:17:53] but you can kind of see that like,
[00:17:56] it would have been hard to move very far with just him.
[00:17:59] Yeah.
[00:18:00] And so, and I felt so misunderstood and like,
[00:18:04] I felt quite misunderstood and like, I felt quite misunderstood and like,
[00:18:07] not very, sorry, I'm gonna like get a cry about it.
[00:18:10] I just like didn't see like,
[00:18:12] respected or whatever it was,
[00:18:13] but I also felt like, like I was,
[00:18:16] like I had some really good memories too,
[00:18:18] because I felt like people's defenses would drop.
[00:18:20] People were playing the game so hard,
[00:18:22] but their defenses would drop like really late at night
[00:18:24] in the shelter waiting.
[00:18:25] We're all trying to sleep.
[00:18:27] And we would play this game where we would like
[00:18:29] go through the alphabet and say like different foods
[00:18:31] in the alphabet until and see who could go like the longest
[00:18:34] and we would just kind of go around.
[00:18:36] And I remember thinking that the way it was like,
[00:18:38] I wrote it down.
[00:18:39] It was like asparagus banana cucumber,
[00:18:41] dill pickle egg.
[00:18:42] And every time you said bill pickle and egg,
[00:18:44] I would just crack up. I can do it last time. I want to do my keyword question. Do it. I was like, I was like, I was like, I was like, I was like, I was like, I was like, I was like, I was like, I was like, I was like, I was like, I was like, I was like, I was like,

[00:19:36] of whatever they said on TV.
[00:19:38] And I was just like, I had a lot of love for them.
[00:19:42] And then, but then I was also like,
[00:19:45] oh, I isn't being reciprocated.
[00:19:46] It's fine if it's not,
[00:19:48] but it's also like, I don't know.

[00:21:31] One of the things that she had said was that she was
[00:21:34] practicing 3D printed puzzles because that the person
[00:21:40] that she lives with got a 3D printer and that person
[00:21:43] is named her husband. And just the way that she delivered that really just cracked me up.
[00:21:49] She talked about how she didn't think that she would go on the journey because she wasn't sure
[00:21:52] if she would be able to go and pee on the journey.
[00:21:56] So I think she's just a very naturally funny person, Jess.
