[00:04:36] But that's my biggest question. I thought when Shannon messaged me, I thought this was mother versus mom.
[00:04:43] Why we got mother? Okay. So what is the difference? We're going to like really crack open the dictionary right now.
[00:04:49] In your opinion, what's the difference between a mother and mother?

[00:05:05] Mother is a term that I feel like is used in the LGBTQ plus community as somebody that's like an icon, a legend, someone that does something iconic.
[00:05:16] Someone that's a trailblazer, in my opinion, is a mother. A mother is somebody that tells me my bedtime is 930 and I don't get my allowance.
[00:05:25] So there's a big difference. Oh, is this a three tribe season now?

[00:10:32] I was thinking about mothers and mothers.
[00:10:35] You know, and I was thinking, you know, really mother motherhood is like a
[00:10:40] spectrum.
[00:10:41] Because if you think of the cast and then I was thinking of my pics and I
[00:10:44] thought actually quite hard to do the mom tribe mothers.
[00:10:47] There's a lot, but there are a lot of people who can kind of fit into both
[00:10:51] but on a spectrum.
[00:10:52] So that's something that I want to look at as we go ahead and maybe that'll
[00:10:56] help us with the cast because I do feel like the tribes might be in balance.
[00:10:59] One thing I was going to pitch was should this be a three tribe season
[00:11:03] of mothers mothers and both because there definitely will be some that I
[00:11:09] think either based on previous seasons or the fact that like they are an
[00:11:14] icon, but they also have children.
[00:11:16] That's where we can either have it be a fierce debate or we can sort of
[00:11:20] throw them in this third tribe.
[00:11:21] But let me just go another wrench into the situation.
[00:11:24] Someone could be a mother that doesn't have children though.
[00:11:27] Yes.
[00:11:28] Wait, hold on.
[00:11:29] So wait, so it could be a mother not mother.
[00:11:33] So in my mind the way when I was asked I thought of mother and I thought
[00:11:39] of mother right?
[00:11:41] And so mother is a nurturing spirit.
[00:11:45] That's like, you know, okay archetype of like the survivor mother and
[00:11:49] then there's also the archetype of the survivor mother.
[00:11:52] Okay, so you don't have to literally have children to be mother.
[00:11:56] I don't agree.
[00:11:58] I don't agree and I really you know, because I was thinking about how
[00:12:02] improv is very much yes and and somehow that's like the opposite of
[00:12:05] how I come to podcast.
[00:12:06] But in talking about the moms right?
[00:12:08] The mothers the real mothers.
[00:12:09] I do and I was thinking about my criteria for these things.
[00:12:12] I wrote some notes.
[00:12:13] Okay, so that's for the criteria.
[00:12:14] You know, but this usually I actually would how can you say out of one
[00:12:19] side of your mouth?
[00:12:19] I'm really to let go of all choice and leave things up to a piece of
[00:12:22] plastic and then say I took copious notes on what defines a mother the
[00:12:25] Plastic decided the notes, but I do think that that moms must have
[00:12:30] children.
[00:12:31] I do think that they should have a mother's obviously that's fine.
[00:12:34] But moms I think it's keeping the moms.
[00:12:38] No, I think that they should have children and I think that the children
[00:12:41] should be a big part of their survivor story.
[00:12:42] I think that's what makes a mom and then mothers are have a motherhood
[00:12:45] about an iconic motherhood about them without children.
[00:12:48] I don't think that we should get too in the weeds with this.
[00:12:51] I don't I unless that I'm missing somebody obvious.
[00:12:53] I don't think that there are a ton of survivor mothers who are not do
[00:12:59] not have children.
[00:13:01] Yeah, I would imagine that's the case.
[00:13:03] So if they're the exceptions, they can be grandmothered in a manner of
[00:13:07] speaking, but I do think it's pretty fine to somebody who is a great
[00:13:10] mother type who does happens to not literally have a child.
[00:13:13] I think we can make an exception.
[00:13:15] Okay, but I don't think that there were that there are many people that
[00:13:18] are like this.
[00:13:19] I got a cup.

[00:14:09] actually out first even if there wasn't a point thing involved to
[00:14:11] discuss it because this is one of the biggest cases that can be made
[00:14:15] in both because I think if you're talking about mother and the
[00:14:19] criteria that falls into that which is iconic behavior being quite
[00:14:24] snarky and Frank when it comes to talking about other people three
[00:14:28] checks those boxes at the same time how I am defining mom or mother
[00:14:33] as it were is someone who also has like a key piece of their
[00:14:37] narrative be about having children whether it's shown on the show
[00:14:42] or not.
[00:14:43] What's interesting about Surrey is we just saw her play 75 days of
[00:14:48] a reality show of not survivor, but I can't help but have it in my
[00:14:52] head of the fact that she played with her own son, but great.
[00:14:55] Okay, so we've Surrey has entered the conversation Bryce.
[00:14:59] Do you see this this exercise as trying to figure out whether Surrey
[00:15:04] is mother mother or that do you feel like that?
[00:15:09] There is a place for her on a tribe.
[00:15:10] That would be both.
[00:15:12] Uh, Surrey belongs on one tribe and one tribe only and Surrey is
[00:15:16] Queen mother.
[00:15:18] Okay, is mother period.
[00:15:19] What I'm saying is that make a choice and Bryce just did and
[00:15:24] that was strong.
[00:15:24] That's why we should do two tribes and then he can make a choice.
[00:15:27] Yeah, I feel like that while while Surrey's children are well
[00:15:33] known to us specifically Jared.
[00:15:36] I would say though that Surrey
[00:15:42] is a story as mother is is not a huge part of her survivor
[00:15:49] journey.
[00:15:50] I think it's much more about her being mother.
[00:15:57] So this is how I saw it with Sandra and Surrey who we have on
[00:16:01] the thumbnail which people are already complaining about but
[00:16:04] with the thumbnail with the Sandra and Surrey who will kind
[00:16:06] of like tribe captains in a way.
[00:16:08] I feel like on the spectrum of mother to mother.
[00:16:11] They're both very much in the middle.
[00:16:13] But for me Sandra to the mother side and Surrey to the mother
[00:16:17] side and why because Surrey is very nurturing.
[00:16:20] She's a nurse as someone in the chat said she had to inspect
[00:16:22] diaper rash.
[00:16:23] She's maternal in that way, but she's still mother and her
[00:16:26] kids have always been a big part.
[00:16:27] We think about their iconic exit confessional where she names
[00:16:30] them.
[00:16:30] I do think to me especially because the mother tribes going
[00:16:34] to be thinner because there's not as many options.
[00:16:37] Watch out.

[00:19:23] are those that were not necessarily portrayed positively
[00:19:25] and perhaps actually got kind of raked over the coals for
[00:19:29] doing things that were negative but because their personality
[00:19:32] their background involved having children.
[00:19:34] It was something that's still fundamentally played into
[00:19:37] their character.
[00:19:37] And so from that perspective, I would be fine having Sandra
[00:19:41] be mother because I also think it also depends on the season
[00:19:45] as well.
[00:19:45] Like I think what like 23 year old Sandra in Pearl Islands.
[00:19:49] I can get led to what the F that is mother behavior.
[00:19:52] I think heroes versus villains.
[00:19:54] She still is telling off Russell, but it feels distinctly
[00:19:56] different.

[00:19:58] And what does her t-shirt say in heroes versus villains
