[00:04:24] every season i'm like are they gonna ask me again are they gonna ask me again and if you don't ask me one season i'm just gonna show up just so you know girl you already know it's an open invitation there will never be a season as long as we are covering survivor that you will not be here with us uh and of course if lauren is here we have to have the man the myth the backbone behind survivor news you might

[00:04:46] know him from don't say it you might know him from survivor news you might know him from the circle season dose you might know him because he's called you for various reality shows but in matter of fact there's someone on 51 who i might have given a ring for something oh well listen they said the season is

[00:05:12] in the hands of the fans and the fans have voted jackery jamal jacob hakeem tarik adkins from the floor is lava welcome to the podcast what an intro thank you bryce man i got some middle names i didn't know about but i'm excited to be excited to be here i saw lauren the last couple nights too so it's really fun to like you know we hung out during finale week and then now he gets kind of recap

[00:05:41] everything i'm not jealous we missed you no the fact that you were in new york this time um very sad but how was it was it amazing new york was uh super amazing it definitely showed out uh shout out to everyone the posse that was there there were so many people that were like singing songs they're like you should sing this song to jack you need to do this and then they're like is lauren going to be on the

[00:06:05] podcast i'm like you already know uh so again shout out to everyone that came or anyone that went to a bryce and win event this season and also shout out to gabe ortiz uh from survivor season i would help you out if i knew 40 40 40

[00:06:28] 47 46 okay yes 47 okay because gabe held it down in baltimore with teeny uh with andy with norah so it was uh an amazing and great time but listen lauren you were at the finale and also shout out to lauren because uh you looked beautiful there's nothing better than like waking up six o'clock eastern standard time and just doing a scroll and Lauren O'Connell is like one of the

[00:06:56] first photos that you see and i'm like my bitch ate it down how was the finale what was the energy like it was so fun there were so many people there we i don't know you had a live finale obviously for your season right so i obviously have not been in we actually i don't even know if we had a live finale since mine maybe for 39 but mine was the last like good life in person and so yeah so we did

[00:07:23] it at the cbs studios it was at a different studio this time and so it's so surreal seeing it from the other side because during our life finale it's like we're back in the green room we're kind of watching the episode they're kind of pulling us out for social media bits like completely different experience it was so fun everybody was so excited to be there the first i'm talking like three minutes jeff comes out there and we stand up everybody's cheering we kind of sit down two seconds later somebody else comes out stand up cheering we did that five times and i turned to the guys was like

[00:07:52] we're gonna have to set boundaries we cannot be up and down for the next three hours of this thing but we kind of were it was so fun i kind of forgot that we were gonna watch the episode like because it feels like an event but it was so fun watching the episode with everybody there energy was insane it's also very interesting having all the loved ones there from the season because like something you know usually when you're watching an episode at a watch party you don't have

[00:08:21] i don't know people that are saying certain things like the whole bit with like tiff where she's kind of going at aubrey it's like they don't care they're amazing both of them are but if it was a situation where it was like a little iffy you've got family members like sitting next to each other but it was so fun it was amazing um my girl aubrey won team aubrey forever it was phenomenal energy so good to see everybody it was felt kind of like a high

[00:08:45] school reunion um yeah the photos looked amazing and again it was like so weird because like you said i forgot in the new era like we don't have live finales anymore and so seeing a live finale i the way i got memories that like just random of like and i'll never forget on kagiyan um woo i always like

[00:09:08] tell this story but i say i don't i feel like on my season i thought woo maybe thought he won okay and when we were behind you know watching like you said you know at the start of it my guy woo his energy was so high and as the episode went on right like and again i didn't know

[00:09:33] because it's my first time meeting all these people right and so uh like i remember me and alexis and jatia like we kept being like what's wrong with woo and like just seeing woo's i don't know maybe the reality like kicking in and we were like oh my god is it not woo and so like just do you think it was the emotion did you think it's gonna be woo i kind of did though

[00:10:02] right because again i didn't know i literally met tony for the first time or like we talked the day before and so it was fun but also it was just like i loved woo and so like from my i was just like yeah so again it was just so crazy and then again seeing the pre when they brought the pre jury out i had flashbacks of i remember during my season we were unsure as to whether or not

[00:10:30] they were going to have the pre-jury on the stage really because right before my season i want to say like blood versus water or even the season before that the pre-jury they had them in like the stands and so like it just brought back like such random memories and so it was like just so good and it just reminded me of like how much i loved the live survivor reunions now jack for season 47 what was it like on your season i have been

[00:11:00] in yeah 47 finale oh you know what so they bring the alternates out yeah they're just trying to keep me in the mix i guess no um well you know the circle we did a live finale and i was actually a finalist price i don't know i guess live for now maybe i guess it wasn't a live finale we pre-recorded it but we like did it

[00:11:28] the final day of filming and we like walk into the finale but there's no audience this during but um i mean i laughed you know it wasn't much but um no it was really fun seeing a live finale it's obviously been since i think 39 and i mean that's the first season we started podcasting together bryce was 39 so i feel like my relationship with survivor has changed a lot since then but it's cool to watch it and like bring those memories back of like being a kid and watching these live finales

[00:11:58] um and yeah it was a great time i was able to watch i wasn't at the finale but i was at i got a shout out you know nobody does it like bryson when but i was able to watch it at reality bar um which is a basically a group in la they throw reality watch parties for all different shows like every week so they do a lot of like love island ones um so if you're la you want to find a community to watch with check out reality bar on instagram but it was a great it was a great time i was there with joan

[00:12:25] with jason from 49 um and then we we moseyed on over to the the after party so i had a really great time watching the finale that's dope uh and i'm also so curious because i think jeff has gone on record during the season uh where they asked him because they did announce that it would be a live finale and they're like well they're excited for 51 and then jeff was like we're not doing a live finale for

[00:12:51] 51 like he did say that also because at maybe i misheard him because when he kind of did a whole bit of like the showing us the preview for season 51 i feel like he said we may or may not be doing a live finale did he say that i will believe i will believe that so he did it in one of like the written interviews and like one of the and like when it came out i was just like well like why would you go

[00:13:19] back and then go back but also jeff is known for saying stuff and then seeing like really actually that's so funny i mean whatever the fans aka jimmy fallon don't want to do i think he'll do it nobody loves live shows more than jimmy fallon so that is very true and so if you're saying that lauren i want to believe that because it's like i loved the energy just even

[00:13:46] watching it was like it almost and again when we were in new york at the bryson wind unofficial official survival watch party finale for the east coast just the jeff was like and if you're at home watching it welcome i don't know why i was like ah like you know like it's so nostalgic it's so

[00:14:08] nice when i tell you visceral reaction to any type of memory i have of jeff walking through like the jungle pretending as if he's kind of coming straight with the urn walking through all of these like fake palm trees and he walks out and then all of a sudden you see the cut and this is the one that i remember the most is micronesia is you have like amanda and parv they're hugging each other then boom we've got these two like hot girls they're all done up he's walking out with the urn like i remember it so clearly

[00:14:37] and i think it's so nostalgic of og survivor and the survivor that we all fell in love with that's why it's you guys too it's like or for any former player you know i'm sure like the finale is a big event whether you're the first boo or the winner and so just to see them on that stage probably like you said the nostalgia for everybody who's been there before probably like triggers that not only like being at the finale but just everything that you know like everything that encompasses you know with

[00:15:04] yeah yeah maybe yeah so it's an emotional roller coaster because again i love survivor i'm a champion of it but it brought back some like not so great memories for myself i remember uh we were at rehearsal and jeff was like it's a live show and so we're not going to be able to talk to everybody and so it's fine and then oh right so we're all like okay cool and then all of a sudden he's like and bryce is

[00:15:33] hilarious but we might not be able to hear from him and i'm like now wait a minute why you gotta say my name and then we go to the live finale and it's like he talks to david he talks to garrett skips me and like and so it again but i was just like oh good job uh it brings back a lot of things but what i thought was the most interesting while in new york and talking to all of the fans because for me

[00:16:01] it's like you know i want to immerse myself with the fans i was asking them like how do they feel about the live finale and a lot of them were like well this isn't the final five that i wanted but but and we let's we'll dive into that but throughout the night i think that the live finale because there was a lot there was a lot of

[00:16:24] there's a lot a lot of hiccups there was a lot of and i think it helped maybe the fans and a lot of people like see this season as such a great season because so many people were like oh it's not a great season and again i've been it wasn't in my hands and i don't know whose hands it was in but i thought it was a great season and so i also just kind of felt like talking through a lot of the actual fans uh

[00:18:07] whether or not people love it or not i think it's always fun when they pull people from the crowd like when you show tina and colby sorry i i met tina i i don't really like fangirl over people but i was fangirling she comes up to me she's like i love your dress i go she's like i'm tina and i go i know who you are i named my barbies after you what do you mean like in my audition tape for

[00:18:33] my season i tell the story about how when i was six years old i had ken and barbie and i named them colby and tina and i reenacted tribal council like she's my og barbie so i think like showing her showing the if survivor 50 is supposed to be this big celebration of 25 years i want to see the ogs i want to see the people that made survivor what it is because we wouldn't have what survivor is now if we didn't have season one season two all of those seasons that started it there was a again i woke up very

[00:19:01] early at like 6 a.m because i was ready to hit the roll back to philly and uh open my phone my algorithm brings me my boo lauren i'm like oh comment like kill it and then scroll the next thing that i see is uh all the survivor winners were invited back and then i see a quote from richard hatch not all the

[00:19:28] survivor winners were brought back i was the first winner and i wasn't brought back and i was like oh i have tea i saw that too and i was i don't know i mean i wouldn't know but i there were a lot of winners there so i don't know if maybe he skipped his invite or he said no but there were a lot of winners there yeah recepia right and again there's a recepia we kind of felt like she should have been

[00:19:53] on winners at war people were expecting her to sing on 50 uh even with the diversity initiative of is that recepia was a huge part of that and so we were like okay maybe we'll see her but it really was so good to see recepia uh so good to see todd uh so good to see tina so good to sorry i don't even i don't got my bucket but one of one of the original britchers moisters uh

[00:20:22] oris it's oris right yeah oh singing him and like one of the ogs for you yeah oh he was a i got to meet oris and so i got i told him this myself uh but like but and again like i look at oris kind of like kobe where like they've aged right like they don't look like the person that i fell in

[00:20:45] love with but okay i can meet you now and honestly his wife is just as hot i'm like you oh i'm obsessed with them obsessed we continue oris and it's what's the brother name is oris and venus okay oris and venus choo choo choo okay but oh god

[00:21:11] and i love them and they both my friends but i'm if ever y'all have wanted to want to know what greatness feels like they got my number but wait lauren funny i need to know okay because in the last couple of seasons that we've had you on uh you know you be texting me the night before you'd be like bitch i got seven episodes to get through but i'm gonna finish it and then i'll

[00:21:38] get back to you what your take on 50 where are you i did watch season 50 okay um and i did not have to catch up last night i didn't have time i was out celebrating with my girl aubry okay i knew that no i did watch y'all um i loved season 50 in the aspect of it was nostalgic it was fun to see the ogs it was fun to cheer on someone who i love so much and i was talking to someone last night about aubry and

[00:22:07] i said i've known her since i was 21 i'm almost 30 so much of who i am is because i met aubry and kelly i grew up with like i grew up with them survivor like i was crying when she won i was crying when she won the final four which was also very i was texting kelly facetimed kelly during the um the vote read but like that was kelly's final four um challenge as well so it was just a very

[00:22:36] it was so special all season to cheer on someone who i feel is like the kindest person i didn't play with her and i know this is kind of getting off topic of the whole actual season and whether or not i thought it was a good season but i'm gonna take the mic for two seconds i never played in the actual game with her and when i got to ponderosa the way that she embraced me was and she didn't have to like at all she didn't even know me and she was so welcoming and so kind and has been ever since i

[00:23:05] think she is so good to her core and i think that when you are a good person eventually great things happen to you and i think she was so deserving of this win and i was crying my eyes out when she was telling her in a final jury story narrative arc to christian because i remember after eoe she disappeared from survivor she was still in my life like i still knew her i like

[00:23:35] i've seen her like she had a baby she knew yes she created an entirely different life and to see her just step away from it and truly believe she would never come back to survivor again i'm getting like the body chills i just yeah and then to come back and be able to kind of really put a bookend to what started in kaurang like was such a beautiful beautiful thing to watch

[00:23:59] and cheer on all season and i also had no spoilers truly i didn't i didn't know i told everyone and i i'm not like on whatever it is that people are like oh it was spoiled like i don't go looking for that stuff i truly didn't know but i had a feeling that she won just i did i don't know why i was just excited and so to see it actually come to fruition last night was so special and i feel like she's so deserving and that's what made the season fun for me selfishly now jack tell me if i'm making this up

[00:24:29] in her original season uh where she lost to michelle fitzgerald didn't they do that final challenge with the ball and michelle won that or am i making that up i don't know i i was thinking about that too i'm not sure let me fact check that real quick because like i know michelle did that challenge and she won i was on 40 it wasn't on it

[00:24:57] after from seasons 29 to 50 it sometimes it'd be a blur but i couldn't remember but i'm like i remember michelle doing that challenge and like i wasn't sure if i was like making it up but i was just like what a full circle moment i think it was a different challenge okay all right but i do feel like michelle's i think that maybe it was on i think she won that on 40. okay all right i know that was

[00:25:23] a challenge that kel lost okay in the final four um challenge is hard but and it's also good uh it's also so fun to watch because it's like i i also stand there with my hand and i'll be like dropping the ball in um with where i was getting in front of the tv in new york with my hand i had an imaginary ball and i was just dropping it in so everything was imaginary yes

[00:25:52] did you drop any of them bryce the first time i dropped in i forgot uh so it's right right left right somebody was like what are you doing i'm just like i'm participating and then they were like well the ball would have dropped by now i'm like you're talking to me um i mean maybe my ball is smaller than you were she said she ordered that challenge yeah

[00:26:19] which is like not a because you know people would like buy the puzzles to practice but that's that's a big challenge it goes to speak to like and this pot will be a lot of me just hyping aubry up but that's easy to do but it goes to show it speaks to what she said in a lot of her post-game interviews and also in her final tribal council speech she studied this game like she truly did remove herself and she

[00:26:42] came in with as much preparation and as much strategy as she possibly could it wasn't just a oh yeah well i guess i'll go play 50 now like she went in there very strategic from the start it wasn't like she just happened to end up at the final tribal and i think that that her like her her seeing that that could possibly maybe be a final four challenge and her going out of her way to practice it and then

[00:27:11] it i'm getting chills again and then it being the actual challenge and her winning it i mean it's just like she it was meant to be it was meant to be and the way i agree to that and the way that i like i get chills because again i like i have my own personal relationship with aubry and throughout the years she's been so amazing to me and like again i feel like respectfully like i'm not deserving of it in the sense of like i like i was on survival for a little bit and that's it but like and

[00:27:40] and i'm not talking like in the resurgence of like bryson when i'm talking about like the og yes the og during my like you know after she played like her love and just like i'm just like oh she's such a real one she's like i don't need anything from you i'm just gonna love you i do a segment called uh the purple pants premonitions with my friend gary deandre um why does aubry watch that why has aubry

[00:28:07] never missed episode why does like aubry have a relationship with gary right like it just speaks to like uh i just love aubry but i do want to know just from the episode any hot takes because i got three hot takes and they're all over the place and so i think you should i think you should take it away yeah i got some two brides but you get the ball rolling and we'll go there i always get

[00:28:32] the balls rolling jack okay uh this uh okay we're gonna take glasses on all right ready i got three hot takes all right from all over the episode but this one because i i re-watched the episode yes my one hot take stephanie lagrosa oh and you don't even have to finish that

[00:28:58] what's the hot take here to the hot take about stephanie would be like that you like her my hot take is i feel like she helped me a million dollars because like just re-watching that final tribal and like jeff's like well i asked a question and like i feel like stephanie was like you know we we clearly know the cloth that she's cut from and who she's rooting for and like the question that

[00:29:28] she tried to ask jonathan i love the way tiffany tiffany said well now wait a minute uh is this a question and that don't make sense and then also shout out to d because right after she asked the question d's like i just want to make sure gentle parenting her yeah right like uh rice it sounded like she took a page out of your book when you talk about

[00:29:53] like a jonathan being like she was just he's got hard but soft heads and he's she's like i want to be the latter jonathan she's like it's like what is the question in this you're looking for the cloth that's cut jonathan is the cloth he's the perfect person i took the bullet for him and like i was just like

[00:30:18] girl what like what did you do and again just the faces of the people on the jury being like and so sometimes i feel like when you ask questions and you want to give the person that you're rooting for an alley-oop i don't think the way to go about it is just like like i feel

[00:30:47] i'm gonna text my mom and say she can't she usually podcasts i'm on i'm feeling just skip it oh my god there's no order here without wendell i know classic wendell uh i feel like the way to go about it is it's how christian did to ask the like put them in the hot seat like set them like don't okay so you're all right no no i'm saying i'm agreeing with you

[00:31:17] not i'm saying give them the opportunity to talk not you keep talking like set them up like say the things that like yeah and ask who that bracelet was for like you oh absolutely that's what he gets for not showing up but i'm just saying like don't like and again i feel like i guess i understood what you were trying to do but like i don't think it like again i feel like that was like

[00:31:47] it was a lot it was also i always find it so interesting when things like that are left in the edit because it's so possible i i just i so much of this season and when you said a lot of people were unhappy with the final five my take is we are watching the reality that the editors have created it's it is it can be the truth or it cannot be the truth the truth i don't think is really relevant

[00:32:13] it is the reality that we're watching and therefore that reality is the truth but it is a reality that has been manufactured by the editors and therefore what they leave in and what they take out is so intentional and so it was so interesting to me that that little like is there a question in here d but like was left in because they didn't need to they could have

[00:32:37] cut it halfway through and saved us a little bit of pain but they didn't end and so i i i don't i think you're right i think maybe they were i think there were two things i think one it was honestly i think it was a little bit of a jab at staff i think to kind of because it was kind of a pain it was a bit of painful watch um and two i think it allowed us to see jonathan through the jurors eyes because

[00:33:05] instead of the rest of the jury being like absolutely go off total package we love you jonathan everyone was kind of like ask the freaking question move on and so i think like yes stephanie may have exacerbated that whole situation with her total package monologue i think that those feelings

[00:33:26] who were already present prior to that conversation yeah absolutely from the looks of the jury of like her proclaiming those things again and like you said everything's intentional and so there are a lot of people that question aubrey's game right there are a lot of people that question joe's game and so

[00:33:51] for aubrey don't want to just bring joe to the end and like again i think it answers some of those unanswered questions by that her asking that and then just the the physical reaction of everyone uh other than who are the two votes from you got it from steph he got three stephanie chrissy and coach

[00:34:18] um it's it's interesting it this sort of like introduces and i like a jury idea that i feel like we like haven't touched on before of there's like a weird self-awareness as a juror that you sort of need to have to know that if your argument for someone is actually gonna land because for like a stephanie it doesn't seem like she really has the respect of most of the jury and so for her to come

[00:34:46] out and say all these things you might actually malign some people like a d and like a tiffany being like well if stephanie like is loves jonathan like then i'm not really in the jonathan camp whereas if a sari came and was like i think you played i think you're the total package and played amazing now granted that's a conversation you would probably have at ponderosa um or say that to them one-on-one because it's like more of a compliment than a question but if a

[00:35:12] sari kind of delivered a similar message people might be like damn sari really thinks highly of this person like um i can be on board with that so it's sort of like you have to know your perception within the jury to know if your argument for certain people is actually gonna like help so funny you say that so funny anybody see any exit press today i know but please share but also jack that's that statement is true but then it also makes me a

[00:35:40] little nervous because what has been in my head this whole season is this statement i love gay people oh oh god i forgot about that sorry i thought the way i had flashes it's also it's also ironic that stephanie said she had a question coming question never came

[00:36:09] what evidence she doesn't know how to finish her sentences right um two things one that's what i'm saying about the editing she might have asked a question and we just didn't see it okay who when you were talking about maybe if sari said that she thought that jonathan played the best game that maybe people would be more inclined to listen to that argument um i don't

[00:36:38] really for i don't watch pre-season press i don't read any of that i don't really ever listen to exit press i can't remember the last time i listened to exit press but today hey i'm gonna walk down the beach enjoying the sun and uh what comes across my feed oh an interview with jonathan and i am under the impression that we like jonathan right like aubrey said that they've

[00:37:02] been you know really close all season all of a sudden he's on his soapbox telling everybody that it was a bitter jury he knows he should have won he thinks that if this is fair oh guys it is crazy tea if this is fair he doesn't know what to say it was insanity and then he goes on to say that he thinks that the reason that aubrey won is because sari is the one that convinced everybody at

[00:37:29] pronderosa and i got a lot of thoughts on that first of all she just got there a hundred percent also how how disrespectful to the rest of the jurors to assume that sari is going to walk in and say so everybody's voting for aubrey and then i'm going to follow that up with

[00:38:47] you have like maybe be friends with sari or yeah maybe y'all should have sent her an invite to their zoom call just saying and listen and that's all i'm saying like maybe maybe the zoom call like you know why i feel like i can say this because i have stayed consistent my entire like my entire

[00:39:11] podcasting career hello that's funny career but whatever my entire podcasting career i said the same thing there is one winner and no matter what that person deserved to win they convinced the majority of people to give them a million two million dollars like and i can say that because guess what chris underwood is the winner of my season i saw chris and his wife last night and they're fabulous but it's like

[00:39:38] come on i said it i'm like i've said it every single time so it's not just because aubrey won it's not and i'm i am deeply biased but i have stayed consistent my entire time that whoever gets the majority of the votes is the deserving winner of that season you can personally think that x y and z had a better game but you're not on the jury so your opinion doesn't really matter

[00:40:01] and let me add to that because i've been critical well one i feel like my bias of when i watch survivor i'm i'm relatively consistent uh this season lauren the posse that watches us when we started they were very critical of like window and i and jack because he's an alum uh but they was like on survivor news sometimes when y'all favorites or y'all friends and they're always like you throw parties and like

[00:40:31] you know you have you want to keep an honest relationship or like so they always say that we're a little we don't we're not honest right we're just if something were to happen to somebody that we're friends with there's always a but right and so this season yeah i've been paused through the wall i i've been very like i've been i was very critical of seri i was very

[00:40:56] critical of like and if i love seri and so like i've been very critical uh and like saying the things that maybe they say i i wouldn't normally say i do feel like throughout the season and again i've been you know i i jerked the chickens um and i will say jonathan's game has improved he played a

[00:41:19] solid game i'm not like right and i like i see it like you you did but like my my one critique of jonathan is like you played a very like you played a one lane game and yeah it got you to the end but your lane didn't have any exits your lanes didn't have any stop signs it didn't have any u-turns and so

[00:41:45] like where there are nuances and like i think stephanie said like a very old school game and for me i just kind of also i felt like that was kind of like a dog whistle a little bit like well what do you mean by old school like you mean when there was like one token black person one token latino maybe one gay like not to defense i think she just meant like chopping coconuts and fishing and well right but that kind of speaks to a level of then who who is normal what type of player is doing

[00:42:15] that normally a buff man right like and so like that's what i'm saying where it's like yeah you like jonathan he evolved he definitely he got to the end well deserving but again i think that there were nuances of games that aubrey played relationships that she had yeah she wasn't making flashy moves

[00:42:39] but like while you were wow sometimes you are at people don't give the bottom enough credit okay they don't we we're no need to be here to rain rain i'm just saying i'm just saying it's a power bottom right i think the thing is i don't think people give enough credit to how difficult it is to play the middle successfully and i think that sari really articulated that correctly

[00:43:08] and i also i texted kelly when it happened i said sari has spoken because i do feel like people value her opinion in a way that maybe they're not going to value my opinion by saying hey playing the middle is difficult playing the middle is difficult to play consistently and to and to be able to go from one place to another to be able to have sari vote for you you vote for sari win sari turn around and be your

[00:43:33] biggest advocate i think that that game playing in specifically is enough for me to be like look at her social game but also look at ozzy when ozzy got out of the game and his exit press ozzy was clearly emotional right exit press so that's months later yeah i can only imagine what ozzy was like when he

[00:43:58] got out of the game like on the island right and ozzy still voted for aubrey and all things considered aubrey's the reason that he ended his game and so like i just feel like it it speaks to something more survivor it's not just getting to the end it's like sometimes you have to make the jurors like you like point blank period sorry no one is giving two million dollars to someone they don't like

[00:44:28] and i don't know because i did not speak to every juror individually but it looked to me that the jurors did not like you jonathan sorry i don't know what to tell you like it just is what it is your game wasn't as valued or they did not like you as much as they valued aubrey's game or they liked aubrey and i just hate the argument that it was a bitter jury no you had poor jury management bro

[00:44:56] i what else like it is what it is get over oh my god it drives me insane i always like getting winning survivor is it and again take so let's use this same subject that we're or it's the same subject matter that we're using and take it to aubrey's first season with michelle fitzgerald like you know what i'm saying like and again people this is and i'm

[00:45:22] also one of those people where don't get me wrong i love aubrey right and i love michelle and i think michelle a thousand percent won that season right but i also i'm like well damn like we the people watching it's like well aubrey did play a good game but in this same token what did michelle have over aubrey in that sense absolutely they they liked michelle or they liked michelle's game better and i have

[00:45:50] always said and aubrey said she's like actually to your point right and i think it's important to know you are allowed to believe i should have won i thought i had a great game i thought my game was better than aubrey's you're allowed to believe that i think maybe you should keep that to yourself and write it in your journal and you should maybe not come across super bitter in your exit press

[00:46:16] because at the end of the day you didn't do enough to win like that truly is just the core of it and you can think your game was better and you can argue all you want jerseys don't agree with you they value something different i think that i've got like a lot of thoughts on it yes well give it to us yeah i mean first and foremost bryce i do

[00:46:42] agree with you like i think jonathan really did his homework and like came in and played a strong game and you could tell like him going into fire before jeff even spoiled it i was like i just got the type where he lost fire in 42 he's probably been practicing fire like every day since that i was like you know he's gonna crush it um and he did play a really good game but i think to lawrence point i think sort of what his exit press is maybe like representative of is the short-sightedness

[00:47:10] and maybe some of those biases that he might hold like you know subconsciously that are the reason that he lost to begin with where he might you know and not to say that he wasn't working we saw him working with like sri and tiffany and things working with aubrey well yeah i mean the same cloth but um you see like you know i think you look at it like okay if you're on the jury

[00:47:38] and you are like a d or a tiffany or whatever and you've seen him you know you see someone who's closest alliance the whole time was like the cloth i mean that could be a reason that someone's not going to really want to like align themselves by like by voting for you and i think we also see other moments where um whether it was in 42 or not to you know not say that he hasn't changed since then but even like in some of the arguing with tiffany at final five it sounds like there was some

[00:48:05] things that were cut out that were also you know rub people the wrong way and so um and not not to you know i might not be the ideal messenger for this but it's like there are certain like i think him saying these things in exit press sort of encapsulates maybe the things that he's overlooking when he's on the island about like what he could be doing better to like forge those relationships i think it comes down to because exactly what you just said about what he said to tiff

[00:48:34] wraps it up is it's not that i don't think that he's allowed to feel that way it's not that i don't think that he's allowed to genuinely believe his game was better than aubry's it's that i think that there needs to be a level of respect for both the people you played with and the jurors in general to understand i don't feel like i could have done anything else i'm frustrated i'm sad but i'm not

[00:49:01] going to go out and attack yeah i'm not going to go out and say it's up for the survivor fans to decide if this was fair and like the other people is like the whole reason like well you're not being aware of if you knew what you could do differently you maybe would have done those things differently on the

[00:49:25] island exactly better and so the reason i bring up the tiff is because i think that if what has been said he said which was like i'm voting for you because you're a girl i actually think if you kind of extrapolate all of the maybe bad nuances to that i think is a valid point in that tiff and joe are not one-to-one like you can't joe against jonathan is a completely different

[00:49:53] game and a completely different fight than a jonathan to tiff and one of the aspects of that is that tiff is female and so she is going to she's going to end but okay is going to speak to the ways and she she's just going to speak to things differently than joe would and people are going to either they're going to react to her differently than they would to joe just in general in life

[00:50:20] and so i can see what his thought process was his delivery sometimes i'm not saying his you're right his delivery or his like thought process was correct or good but i get where he's coming from he's just he's not his social game in that aspect is lacking and i think that that's what it comes down to and to add some some color to what i've heard was like maybe cut out since we're

[00:50:50] talking about it i just want to make sure like we're relaying it correctly for like this conversation it sounded like um and this wasn't i didn't hear this like second hand or first hand from tiff or anything i just heard this like through i don't know the internet or whatever was that john like tiffany asked jonathan jonathan was saying he wanted tiffany out because she had won three challenges i think tiffany was like well joe won three challenges why are you not voting him out instead we've

[00:51:18] won the same amount of challenges and i think jonathan said because you're a woman it's different um and now i can get being like you know joe's a behemoth guy maybe there's an expectation on the jury that he's gonna win a lot of challenges tiff is not a behemoth you know but she's extremely athletic so perhaps i see jonathan being like it is more impressive that tiff has been crushing these challenges um but i think simplifying that down to being like you're a woman it's different obviously

[00:51:47] probably rubs people the wrong way so um but i think that sounded like what maybe that was the prime component of the conversation that's exactly what i heard and that's the point is it's like saying it's because you're a woman really bad delivery bro but i get what he's saying and that it is just a fact unfortunately just in life that the jury is not going to see joe and tiffany through

[00:52:12] the same eyes and that's just the that's for an array of reasons too a wide oh right that's a hundred percent but i i think he was like boiling it down to what he was not able to say for the fact that you are engaging and funny and brilliant and smart and you have great social strategy and you know like and you're a black woman yes yeah

[00:52:39] uh let's say it uh and so like that that in my opinion that's a lot of what i take from it uh but i do also another hot take that i do want to jump on uh is tiffany and joe uh i feel like we didn't see a lot of tiffany in the beginning of the season and then in the last two episodes

[00:53:03] the train started moving and throughout any time that we have seen tiffany right when she's wronged or when she's gone through something she's rather composed uh but after the start of the episode tiffany said f this ish i'm done right where and i think that like tiffany kind of realized her fate of

[00:53:25] like with the the four that are left and me like it is what it is and if this is what it is then f you f you f you aubry was like can we talk tiff like what are we talking about okay riz came to her and was like listen this is why i'm voting for you and tiffany like okay well so is there anything i could do to change your mind and the risk god is like no except be like why are we having this conversation but again why what i found so funny is like and also pop off tiff right because sometimes

[00:53:55] it's like phenomenal as a person of color uh like i can only i i'm a marginalized community i'm a part of a marginalized community and i can only imagine tiffany as a marginalized community uh person of a marginalized community out there sometimes you're always trying to like hold yourself to a higher standard you're always trying to be like let me but i also feel like sometimes

[00:54:24] you gotta just say fuck it and like i again great gameplay no but sometimes you get to a point and you just gotta say fuck it and like tiffany let them have it but for me the thing that i was cracking up the most about was the next morning joe of all people and i say this only to say because it's like

[00:54:50] one of the other biggest fights this season was a rick devins and a joe and we have seen and we have heard that like the snippet that we got was just that a snippet and so like for joe to be like what you doing girl you can't lose your game like that just survivor and then it's just like and again

[00:55:18] i love joe and i i get his point but like i just oh that was yeah you're that's so true yeah on the tiff on the tiff topic first it is a tragedy we did not get more of her and i said this recently i'm like i met tiff for the first time at a bryson one party in san diego within two minutes i said she is hilarious she is so well spoken she's so like like i just am obsessed with everything she's saying

[00:55:46] and everything that like she is and she's so welcoming and so kind and like i'm like i want to watch seven seasons of her and so the fact that we never saw not never but we saw so little of her in the first few episodes was upsetting i'm like i want to see i want to see tiff's take on this because i know that it's funny and i know that it's probably right so that's my quick take i also just

[00:56:12] realized in this moment oh my god i forgot tiff me you and jack child we we put jack in charge of we put jack and actually timothy did oh this is timothy for timothy put jack in charge of hey we gonna go out okay jack is a young man and jack jack looking for one thing and one thing only and that's

[00:56:38] a good time jack took us to this one spot and mind you it was fun it was great he said i took it was one spot this is a lot of you're giving me way too much responsibility you're walking along the street i remember jack jack we jack google and as we were walking we're like we go here jack's like no go up the street up the street we're like okay there's another spot here jack's like no up

[00:57:07] the street up you guys this is not good we we we got to the spot module the spot it we we made the best of it but like you know after 10 minutes of trying to find the most fun spot available on a wednesday night then i did a little research and i said well listen everybody like a little hookah the hookah spot was where it was at but and then i got before we went to the uh wasn't that i said

[00:57:33] i would like some pancakes a cinnamon roll and a french dip if possible and so i did my my duty and i brought everybody to the 24 hour diner to get a cinnamon roll on a french dip to a yeah i was mad has their role um and i played mine perfectly why did i just forget about that random ass night that was an electric and i got everybody on hookah okay well we did it two nights in a row

[00:58:02] we were there two days at first and then we needed to get a wednesday all of us i loved it from the second i met her and knew like i was so freaking excited to see her on season 50 because she is so electric like i said this about kelly too of you watch kelly over there like oh she's amazing and i go she is a thousand percent more magical in person i feel

[00:58:25] that way about tiff i think like i love tiff down and she has never been anything but so freaking nice and kind to me and i will root for her in everything and all that to say she should have had more professionals and but what it does go to show like back to your original statement lauren of like the editor's point of view right and so we're seeing this from the editor's point of view on whoever

[00:58:51] the editors are like they do a great job but i'm like i just you know i'd like to see more i like to see maybe let's switch up the editor i'm gonna know who yeah listen maybe it should have been in the hands instead of the fans it should have been in the hands of different editors but like all respect they did a good job but the only thing that i will say though right is that we didn't see a lot of tiff and then all of a sudden we see this as surgeons

[00:59:17] in tiff but we also see like when it was time for ozzy to go we see tiff leading the charge right like we see and we're like whoa wait a minute wait a minute what's going on and then later in this episode or early in the episode we see that everyone's like we can't sit next to tiff we can't like and so again it leads me to believe what else oh she's she's been playing a game that jory would

[00:59:45] love like whoa why why why i would have loved to see that right like you know now i just you disagree what you think jack yeah i don't know if this is like a hot because i i love tiff like that's i don't so obviously the more tiff the merrier but i did feel like and maybe just this is like from

[01:00:09] knowing her but i feel like i got sort of what like we see multiple times and maybe it's not always through tiff's pov but people even when they they split on d and tiff nobody wanted to vote for tiff so it's like okay tiff's doing something her social game is really strong and i felt like you know obviously early on we did not see a lot of tiff but once she's and she didn't really go to tribal but once we started to get more of her around like the end of the pre-merge i feel like we got

[01:00:36] a consistent dose of tiff granted given she gets fifth place and was potentially the other major competitor with aubry would have liked to see more in that sense but when it comes to like those early episodes it's like look they know she's gonna be around till five and just on paper legacy wise there's a lot of other players in there that go out sooner that had a lot of big legacies that they have to showcase a little bit more again i would have been happy with more tiff but i did feel like

[01:01:04] i understood why she was seen to be a threat and now it i think it could have been fleshed out a little bit more but i felt like i knew why she was dangerous for the you know to sit next to i agree with you and i think my thing is i just find tiff entertaining and so i think i would like to see her more i agree with you in that we saw tiff more comparative to the beginning of the season

[01:01:33] but i think the edit in this final episode tiff we were made then to believe that tiff had to fall in order for aubry to win that was the kind of narrative they were selling to us so if tiff has to fall for aubry to win tiff must be a giant so why do i not feel like she's the number one threat we have to get

[01:01:57] her out if she sits next to us we are all done for that i might feel like she is a threat but i did not feel like she was the threat and the narrative that they gave us in that last episode was we got to get tiff out and the the confessionals we were getting were setting up aubry to win the second we kind of were getting those that if for aubry tiff or aubry it was like okay well if tiff goes home aubry wins

[01:02:26] so tiff had to fall for aubry to win and i didn't feel convinced that tiff was the threat the threat because of the edit that needed to fall in order to give season 50 winner to aubry agree i think that's a very fair point yes that that's you ate that and if we follow the edit right like we've seen

[01:02:52] a lot less of tiff and we've seen a lot more of jonathan joe and aubry and so me as a viewer i would then think they're going to cannibalize on joe jonathan aubry and not a tiff and so yeah i i completely agree with that uh but again shout out to tiff she played an amazing game uh she looked

[01:03:13] amazing i'm like eats every freaking time every time last week i was texting her and i was like i don't know what you uh what you wearing for the finale but whatever outfit you going for step it up even more and tiff was like i needed that thank you she looked absolutely amazing love tiff and i also

[01:03:37] makeup hair boom she she serves i also can we talk about the riz god right because listen i i'm a riz god fan i love the riz god i think the riz god he did his thing there is some discourse in the the survivor community of like how well the Riz God did whether or not he actually was a threat to win

[01:04:02] uh this and that and i think i said last season that or last episode me being such a fan of the riz god like one i would have loved the riz got the win i would love tiffany to win i would have loved aubrey to win um i almost the fan in me right like because this has been a season of like us kind of like retiring the goats where it's like i almost don't i didn't want the riz to win because i almost

[01:04:28] like want an aubrey art right like i want to see the riz play again i want to see this and that but like i definitely think riz's age had a lot to do with it how he kind of like started the game of him being like it's the riz god i love you i looked up to you you were great you're amazing and i think a lot of people that that absolutely lowered his threat level uh and i think it made it hard for him maybe

[01:04:56] with the the seasoned jory that we have for them to like look at his game in a formidable way but i and i don't want to be biased but i do want to say i'm not i don't know what a jury looks like i don't know what a merge looked like i don't know what episode three looked like but from my perspective

[01:05:19] i think riz's game was absolutely formidable and like sure some tweaking here and there but i love the riz and like again sad to see him go out but i think he did his thing i would love to know like what's what's your thoughts on the race guy it's funny you say that because kelly and i

[01:05:43] literally had this conversation as i was driving down to la my opinion on this is that i don't think there was ever any chance whatsoever that rizzo wins this season and that has nothing to do with gameplay i'm talking walking into this season he is an unknown entity and he should have been voted out first given history given what happened to savannah i think that he is playing zero something

[01:06:08] like he did not have a chance so i think now the next step and i'm sure this is not what he was thinking but i'm looking at it this way he needs to get to the end somehow he has no alliances he doesn't know any of these people he is walking in seven days fresh off his last game that they know nothing about so what does he do he goes and he makes a tight alliance with sari and aussie new people that not only are never going to see him as a threat and therefore never feel the need

[01:06:38] to vote him out but two people that are always going to be a bigger shield throughout the game in order to win the game you have to be at the end so i look at his game and i i don't know if this is how he was looking at it but i look at his game as how do i get to the end i don't care how i do it but how do i find a way not knowing any of these people not knowing not having any prior reputation

[01:07:03] not having any prior relationship how do i get to the end and i think he did a fantastic job maneuvering and building relationships in a way that got him as far as he possibly could i mean if he knew how to make fire he would have been in the final three so i think that is incredible i don't think he ever and he could have literally played the most perfect game in the entire world i think

[01:07:29] aubrey said it perfectly that jury was never giving two million dollars to a kid and they were never giving it to an unknown and they just weren't so getting that far i think is amazing and deserves to be recognized as a success in my opinion i i'm with you and when you have people like stephanie going back to her like and one of her things is like an old school player right riz is never like

[01:07:58] like he's never old school player he wasn't even born right like and so again you just have to keep in mind that that is some just to speak what you're saying like that's some of the jury's qualification absolutely and they get to feel that way and they get to value what they value and that's why they vote for who they vote for and that's why i truly believe that he never in a million i think it was a disservice to put him on this season for him although it ended up great like i think it could have gone

[01:08:27] really badly i think it went as well as it possibly could and i think like no notes because not only do now if you come back and i do think he will have this first of all learn how to make freaking fire but like dear god but you have this great story and you've built this resume and you're friends with sari god i mean like could it have gone any better i genuinely think it was the single best case scenario

[01:08:53] because not only like he i don't know i don't know that he would have gotten any votes in final tribal so because of his gameplay it's just because the perception and it's it's the reality of i think season 50 i mean i have a lot of thoughts on rizzo that's the main sentiment well i think he played a great game i'm very in alignment with lauren and i think you were you bryce yeah um and i've been saying

[01:09:20] since early on coming in sort of like you said nobody knows him he's an unknown entity he's kind of in a tricky spot i think he played it perfectly by leaning into sort of like the young earnest maybe a little naive super fan that everyone could just keep around because he was like a fan of theirs and like he's going to be agreeable um and i think that helped him get his footing early on um and with that

[01:09:48] being said that strategy then makes it hard you're sort of lowering your threat level intentionally it is now very hard if you get to the end to muster votes granted i do think a jonathan rizzo joe final three i think is at least interesting i'm with you i think rizzo could assuming that aubrey was sitting at the end yeah i don't think he's not gonna beat aubrey but if it's jonathan joe rizzo and he has if he gets like cerise blessing i think he's got a fighting chance

[01:10:18] and that to be within one you know challenge essentially of that scenario i think he played his cards really really well and again the alternative of this for him to have more respect on the jury is for him to come in and be like i'm one of you guys like you guys haven't even seen my season but i'm a dog like i'll play hard and he if he went that route i think he would have just played himself out like in the first four votes so obviously i think the the route that he went

[01:10:46] was the best like you said lauren the best way for him to get to the end see what happens and then also there's sort of this meta component of like you get to the end you cement more of a legacy for yourself maybe now you come back in the future and it would be interesting to see rizzo now on another season where people absolutely not only seen one of his games but two of his games and know he's tricky and crafty and like i think he'll have a lot of respect on another season where if he gets to the end he

[01:11:12] might be the biggest threat can i also add what i think one of my favorite parts about a rizzo lore is if and when he ever plays again right the way his threat level is kind of like it's so low right where it's like his game obviously with the idle move is super super super flashy right but it's not like

[01:11:36] a sari it's not like a like i like i i feel like it's almost similar to an aubrey's game in the sense that if he were to come back again i think it would be very easy for him to assimilate for him to work with people and get to the end again right like because it's not like it's like he beasted his way he was this big like i don't know it is something like the humbleness the kid of it all

[01:12:06] it sets him up for greatness also i don't know if i was the only person that noticed this but like the one thing that i always love about a riz god is that like riz god is a fan true and true and true and true and true and true again look at this photo of riz god being eliminated right is do y'all notice anything he's so smiley yes also look at that book bag you know the riz god collected every tree

[01:12:34] every piece of thing that he could because why is his book bag filled with everything you know you want me to tell you why their book bags are so big you want me to tell you why their book bags are big because people are getting a bunch of clothes now i'm telling you they're all warm and i've got beef with it because i'm in a brawn underwear freezing my ass off on that beach every night and these people have these huge ass backpacks which i noticed in the last season or in the last episode they're coming up to this challenge everyone's like there's more and i'm like i know you didn't need to

[01:13:02] steal things from the island to go to this challenge it's clothing and i've got not only is it clothing like he went to joe and was like can i get your shorts can i get this the man got his water bottle rizzo they send it to you okay riz god packed his bag he like love i think he's got actual books in there he's on his way back to flash like he he's got he's got freshman year after this

[01:13:28] season period you know you know how old he is yeah he's 26 okay so i was gonna i was gonna ask if you didn't know how old he was how old do you think he is 16 no and i think what i was gonna say about you saying his threat level is low i think it's because he presents so young i think he and i think he is very smart but because of how he chooses to kind of present himself he comes across

[01:13:55] as almost like a little naive a little bit like oh i'm just i'm just a big fan boy right but it is also juxtaposed with this r-i-z-g-o-d like gen z like but that's why it works though right i know it's like that i'm like child kobe ain't never gonna get this work that like but it's like he's smart i like i love it i'm like if it was just him all the time being like r-i-z-g-o-d i'd be like somebody

[01:14:23] get this kid off my screen but there is something about how authentic it feels when it's juxtaposed with that kind of vulnerability childlike joy that he exhibits when he plays emotion and like his like he's his right you said his vulnerability like again we love we love r-i-z-g-o-d god over here i know i had to it was like am i spelling this right i don't actually know yes every time i say it i question myself i'm like is it two z's but uh let's get to the last

[01:14:51] person right so let's talk about joe now hear me out i can't wait joe is on the current zaddy calendar i love joe we know joe has been going on a blocking spree he's been blocking a lot no joe love me okay joe ain't listen i love him joe understands my humor and like i think for me he

[01:16:38] back three two episodes if he could have like just acknowledge like oh honor and integrity integrity it's not just honor and integrity right like your honor and integrity could just be for yourself and your family and it's like say he would have jumped ship with tiffany and got rid

[01:17:02] of aubrey like you know and i feel like the type of game that joe has played we know how much that means to him and so i feel like a move like him voting out of aubrey or a move of him voting out of a jonathan right and then him sitting there and being like y'all know how i feel about this how much this meant to me i and given the position that he holds i feel like that could have struck a

[01:17:32] chord with a lot of jewelry people and like again i feel like with the joe was like it don't take a lot because it's like we know what you stand for and like just a simple move of you just coming to your sense is like wait a minute i'll get this two million dollars i think could have went a long way for a joe's game although i did really appreciate him coming in and saying like like when coach kind of threw him a question of like you know i value honor and integrity but i did i was lying like he's

[01:18:01] like i lied to tiffany i lied to multiple people i i it was a little too little too late right but i i thought there was i was because we've seen people in the past like a coach who are all about the honor integrity get to the get to the jury and keep preaching it even though that's not what they did joe was like i i did lie like and he kind of accepted he didn't articulate it well enough of like like emily was explaining his game better than he explained his own game but i i respected him being

[01:18:28] like i did do what i had to do what's your take lauren my take was that it felt because of the edit extremely hypocritical because i did not see this side like all of a sudden we're getting these confessionals from joe like that's it i don't care about anything i'm going to do everything i can to win versus in previous episodes we're getting honor and integrity joe so it felt like this 180 of

[01:19:23] any reason to need to be kind to me so welcoming i like i root for joe in everything i think he is such a gracious loser like what he said at the reunion what he said it um i think i don't know good morning america whatever they were on this morning he is a phenomenal person i don't know if survivor is maybe his game because he's such a phenomenal person yeah me the edit like him saying those things and being

[01:19:48] like i lied i didn't see that i never saw any of that so it felt like a complete agree work in the road who we for me though the thing that like the only thing that i took issue with joe like you like you said he acknowledged he's lying to tiffany but like you weren't really locked in with tiffany so it's like that like for me it's like i want the lie to i want the call to

[01:20:13] come from within the house right like it's like that's what look i'm not saying he like turned his whole game around and like really locked in i just i i respected as well to be like because i think we've like i've said we've seen with players like this before where i think even him in 48 kind of got to final travel and he sort of got trapped being like i was very honorable and had integrity and didn't lie and then people would be like well you kind of lied here and he was sort

[01:20:40] of stuck like oh at least now he was like hey not you know his great his game wasn't great but he's like i i started lying like i started playing the game you know he's still learning he's playing survivor with the training wheels on a little bit but he's you know at least acknowledging like i'm i'm playing yeah that's that's so fair price i thought what you said about emily and her statement was so true because it was such a powerful statement and maybe if he had taken that route of

[01:21:07] you're calling it babysitting i'm having you guys come to me and run the votes through me yeah like and you guys didn't even know you were doing that i don't think that's what necessarily was happening or i don't think he was doing that on purpose but that is emily's right that they kept including him they didn't have to keep including him the thing about survivor is you can in fact vote people off the island so like yeah the babysitting was not forced right here's my thing right like

[01:21:37] i feel like after seeing the scene this season and this is me personally after seeing the season of jonathan like ah i don't need to see another jonathan go around right however with a joe and maybe i'm biased okay it's the end of the season let me be biased with a joe right like i want to see a joe again only because it's like i want to see will you yeah what you gonna do like like because again can you

[01:22:06] i just in my mind and it's just my mind i want to see it i want to see a season of joe just lying from the get-go yeah i would so if you came to do that i would be sign me up but you throw joe on another season do you actually think we get that though like i don't need i don't need i don't need another season he's got to sign a contract that says he's not allowed to use words honor and integrity

[01:22:32] and at least every other vote he has to have lied and then yes but i genuinely stand by my previous statement i think that joe is innately too good of a person great i feel like too like just kind like his he has like a bleeding heart for people and it is a difficult thing when you are in this highly emotional environment with these people that feel like you're pseudo family because

[01:22:59] you've been living with them yet you know you can't trust them because at the end of the day they're going to vote you out to win a million dollars two million dollars and feeling like oh my gosh how do i extrapolate real life from game life and how do i lie when that's not my personality and i think what i love about joe is we you said we kind of questioned what role eva

[01:23:24] played with him in his first season and then we realized that's just joe i like that about right i love that that's joe i love the fact that that scene we see with him and eva was not performative i love that he is just joe whether that's good survivor or not whether that means that's the point right there right it's like let's also we can also be honest like yeah survivor doesn't always

[01:23:51] show everybody it like so you can love the show but like it doesn't always put you in the best light right and so like and i think for the person that he is it doesn't but this is what i will say he's a fireman right and that speaks to it like he he's risking his job is to risk his life and there have been many a times and many a days that i had give me the burr okay many a days girl i thought

[01:24:19] you're in the car come get me this is insane my house is on fire joe bryce again again man this is insane i'm in the shower and the water's off so i don't know how to get out can you come get me joe i'm naked in the bed

[01:24:40] the sheets is on fire come get me bryce i'm hanging up we're getting locked no i i i think i am maybe not always the best um survivor commentator because i will always always always lean i will always root for people that i think are kind and good people and but i can also say

[01:25:06] i don't know that joe's personality and joe's integrity lends to a game so unless he's going to sign a game of survivor that's going to win so unless he's going to sign the contract that says he'll lie every single day and he will never use the words honor integrity throughout the 26 days that he is on that island i don't know that we see him again i agree it sort of reminds me of like uh ben drebergen when in winners at war ben kind of gave his spot up to like for sarah to move forward

[01:25:35] a little bit he was sort of like you can vote me out and i remember being like really critical of that and like critical of a lot of ben's gameplay being like this you know yeah especially back then i was like this is this bad survivor this is antithetical to the game but you got at the time uh i mean it is bad survivor but no i'm sorry can you say that again you think it's bad you think

[01:26:01] it's bad it was like bad survivor gameplay for sure that's that's interesting because i feel like a lot of people um tend to think that someone on this season who i think plays a similar game of like finding idols is good survivor gameplay well okay i mean i'm referencing winners at war though where ben was not really finding a lot of items okay separately um but what i sort of came around to

[01:26:26] thinking is like ben did that because of his who he is relationships with like sarah and with and to him that those bonds to him meant more than like winning and and obviously bad survivor but i'm like that's just you being a good person and like caring about people and it's like you can't really knock someone and this is that's the comparison i draw to joe is like you can never really knock someone

[01:26:52] you can be like his game's not great but you can't knock him as a good guy because he's so good that his goodness is making it hard for him to play a good survivor so um that's sort of the comparison i draw there's a couple i mean we've been going a while we've kind of covered everybody there's a few things i want to still discuss um one of them is you know that final five challenge tiff was one piece away and it was really devastating when when she lost if she wins that challenge how do you guys feel

[01:27:20] like things i mean i'd have to guess that aubrey probably goes at five i don't i don't think you don't think i think it's riz because he had an idol he had an idol yeah so i don't think jonathan and joe will vote for each other i think it's aubrey i i would bet the house that aubrey would go at five okay let's let's talk it through so tiff has a necklace right so she's safe

[01:27:48] original idol and he can only play it for himself which is also i think dumb you lose a lot of the intrigue of like the options for himself the idols this season you can you'd only play for yourself which is so like billy eilish but i like that it limits us with like our options and so it makes better to have more options right well you're not okay because i wanted to see rizzo have a dilemma of like should i play my idol on tiff and make a move here but he doesn't even have the option to um

[01:28:17] i think jonathan goes home so from how does jonathan go like tiffany knows that tiffany and rizzo know aubrey is a bigger threat than god oh that's right okay yeah okay yeah so i think i think i think aubrey goes unanimously i think it comes down let me see so what's rizzo aubrey probably targets jonathan i think there is a world in which aubrey and rizzo i think it comes down to what

[01:28:45] rizzo who rizzo felt like also i mean rizzo i don't know who exactly said it but there was a conversation at four where it seemed like all the boys rizzo jonathan and joe that was their ideal final three totally they didn't want to sit with aubrey so knowing that rizzo would rather sit with jonathan and joe i think it's clear right on aubrey and tiffany still pissed at aubrey from last night and so it's like she would need to go and so i think aubrey's the biggest threat is a bigger threat

[01:29:13] so aubrey goes at five and then who was the final who was aubrey against at the end of that challenge joe in the final two of the final four challenge yeah i think tiff could take that too so it's like oh oh that's a oh that's oh oh jackson killed me the reason that i was kind of questioning it is because i think we saw tiff say that aubrey was the biggest threat for two reasons one she

[01:29:42] she felt like she didn't have any agency and so she knew that in order to kind of save herself that the other option was aubrey also like i said previously tiff has to call for aubrey to win edit wise so i would be interested to see if tiff doesn't go home if she actually believed that it was an aubrey vote out in that situation i i think it's very likely it still is but we very i'm 100

[01:30:12] positive that we saw her feel that way and we saw it in the edit because of the setup yeah so let me ask you this so say that hypothesis of yours jack is right or goes through tiffany wins and they vote out aubrey then i think at final four i think tiffany if tiffany wins final four which i think

[01:30:41] she would have a decent chance to although some ocean's tough it's like it's hard to call who's gonna be good at that and not you know because anyone could be like just mess up you know um right but i think she would have a good chance at winning that and i think she wins i think rizzo goes home and fire still right and then i think tiffany beats jonathan joe in a similar vote count

[01:31:03] i think if tiff is sitting at the end with anyone but aubrey yeah i think she wins yeah but i do think that if tiffany loses final four i think it's fire yeah let's assume joe wins it because he was he outlasted jonathan and in rizzo i think now joe it's like i don't know who he'd actually he probably

[01:31:28] i think joe takes jonathan but i think jonathan would ask to be put in fire to beat tiffany because they would know rizzo wouldn't be tiffany and jonathan i think that is a lot like extra like once that push wants that very confident in him in his abilities to make fire and just knows like rizzo's not the man for the job so i think jonathan i don't know exactly how good tiff is at a fire but jonathan was like he literally made one in his confessional so it's like

[01:31:56] most of the time jonathan probably wins fire tiffany goes out at four you know assuming she doesn't win final four and then it's an interesting final three but i was just i was you know one piece away i was like very curious granted aubrey probably goes at five that just changes everything so and that is so crazy and again like not that i'm not happy with an aubrey win i i love it but i almost

[01:32:20] even like that scenario right the excitement that it gives like it does pique my interest of like i wonder how what i would feel about the season and whoever is the winner right because it's like uh it's an interesting take on it uh lauren you were at the finale and i do want to just talk about the Jeff Probst oh my god yes uh and again we know we haven't had a live finale in a long time

[01:32:49] and live finales a lot of things happen but like you know jeff they bring out rizzo and and jeff announces that rizzo is take your place at the jury tiffany face serif face jeff as jeff is talking walk us through it okay so i was like live texting kelly at the same time because she was watching the east coast feed but the way that it would kind of work is we're sitting there and

[01:33:15] the show would cut to what would be considered a commercial obviously we're not seeing the commercials during that time they'll tell us like there's a little break or whatever or we will see see the production come out onto the stage and start to set up for their next kind of slot it cut right before fire making and we see jeff get cued to come out and he comes out and then rizzo

[01:33:40] comes out which they had been doing throughout the entire finale but we were i thought it was kind of odd i was like oh okay and so then jeff is kind of talking to rizzo and i'm like this is a really interesting spot for to be talking to rizzo at this moment when we haven't seen fire yet he then says take your place on jury when i tell you the entire audience it was like like we all there was a

[01:34:08] moment where i said did we maybe we weren't gonna see fire maybe they're pre-recording it was it was like a an entire group think of what just are we in a time warp what just happened then i i see seri be like we haven't seen fire i see d over on the side going like this like what she's literally like yeah i want to say it cuts i don't know what you guys were seeing on your end but jeff is standing

[01:34:34] there like what he's confused yeah they cut to commercial and then because he's okay ended with d like like they cut it when they saw d okay so it cuts he looks around he's kind of talking to them he you can see him like asking he grabs his okay so he grabs the mic and he goes okay what just happened and everybody goes what and i mean obviously he can't hear us and i think someone said something

[01:35:01] to him he goes wait what have you guys seen so all of us were like we haven't seen fire yet what i my understanding was he was cued too early but i don't know how that happened um from a production standpoint i know how that happened from jeff because in the episode he's the episode he's got things he's got to get figured out for each spot and he even says that in

[01:35:30] an interview but he's over in whatever green room and then he gets cued up to come out at each kind of commercial break and it's already been pre-set up like he just kind of walks out you know how he is and he won off like he's not reading off of a teleprompter um it was crazy so i'm texting kelly i go are you live was that live because i don't know what's being shown and i'm thinking maybe they

[01:35:58] cut it kelly's like freaking out she's like oh my god that was live that's insane that's insane that's insane oh my god oh my god oh my god like just oh my god i'm like oh my god that it it was kind of just a consensus of what just what just happened how did that happen i will say though

[01:36:20] he handled it so well i thought i mean did it ruin that right it was like there it was such a masterful way to come out and be like sorry like yeah that's that's on me but just so you know we're gonna go back and watch how he lost um tune in and make your bets and move forward with it because there's quite literally nothing you can do at that point it was a mistake i think what was funny though

[01:36:48] is the whole live crowd as fire is being made starts chanting rizzo oh wow rizzo rizzo rizzo knowing he's gonna lose um and then he comes out again and everyone's like screaming he then it cuts after you see him hug rizzo he got a standing ovation a standing ovation for like a solid minute of people just like clapping for him and he just like waved um so it was a very it was an interesting vibe in

[01:37:17] there it was um it was interesting for me because obviously i watched it on pacific time so we were three hours behind and the first note but you know i already sort of knew what was gonna shake out and but the first note if i got regarding the jeff situation was my mom texted me and i was like i was like wow i'm not even watching it like i what but then i had other people be like oh my god oh my god so i was like okay i need to hear what jeff did um and but yeah and then

[01:37:46] but i was like maybe they'll take it out on like the pacific feed i thought they would do did they like i thought he handled it well but i also felt like when they come back from commercial i almost thought like obviously he addressed it and he was like yeah rizzo loses fire we're about to go watch that i kind of was just wish they like pretended it never happened and oh really go into fire and be like what was that like i don't at least there's some like element of like

[01:52:21] did not meet expectations and i think there's a lot and i think a lot of that stems from the direction that the producers feel like the show should go even in a season where they say this is in the hands of the fans what we actually generally i feel like want is not being provided to some extent and so i hope that they can and like i feel like they've been out of touch for on

[01:52:47] some of those things for a while and so i hope that 51 and 52 they can sort of take us back to a prime era of survivor um but i am worried that and there's been interviews with jeff and stutch where he was basically like if you're a fan and you are giving us criticisms and have opinions on what the show we're not listening to you and i'm like that doesn't seem the most productive um i never

[01:53:17] thought you were jeff to be honest with you yeah um and so just i hope that it's like they seem so so so against any sort of like positive criticism like constructive criticism and so i'm worried they're just gonna like do what they they think and like it's just gonna be what it is but i really think the recipe to have a great season survivor is actually pretty simple and they're just like

[01:53:42] way over complicating it and like conflating a lot of certain success with like like misattributing what's actually causing it um like you can i can sort of you can sort of reference the covid resurgence of survivor when it was on like netflix and stuff i think that brought a lot of viewers to the new era which i think then exactly and i think the producers probably misconstrued that with being like oh the new era is really a home run like everything we're doing must be good it's

[01:54:12] like well no you put bryce isaiah on netflix obviously people are gonna watch that shit um and so just stuff like that i'm i it's like i literally i think you could put the seat the design of a season in like you know a avid fan's hands and like they're gonna they could actually make like a good like i just think you like jack are you are you submitting your resume to say is this

[01:54:38] what you are doing okay if you say i mean i think they can use a shakeup on the casting side and i i might be available so if you put the if you put it in my hands we are opening with the uh heroes versus villains opening challenge where they are pulling the bags out of the sand we are getting dislocated shoulders we are getting bras taken off that's our first challenge immediately into slathering up

[01:55:06] james in oil and sliding down a slip and slide to grab a flag that is how my season of survivor would air um feel free to get on board and i will start it out like i want to i want to see stuff like that i do i think it was amazing i ain't mad i i do love when they start off on the boat and they get a couple of seconds to get the stuff and they got jumping down but yes you want to know why i listen

[01:55:33] yes visually 100 but then your clothes are wet your clothes are wet you want to know why i don't even know i'm gonna pull up i wish i had a picture of it but that whole like shawl thing that i'm wearing that first shot it's like pink it's got little fringe ugly but whatever you never saw that thing again because it was soaking wet from jumping off of the boat never dried was moldy and gross so i had to stick it at the bottom of my bag mind you that was the only piece of clothing i had other than the

[01:56:00] bra and underwear and it acted as a pillow for the rest of the time so your clothes are wet the whole time i feel bad for them but i like to watch it so just to also note rizzo had that wet moldy shawl in his bag when he left okay because that's what he had but listen i've been looking for this it's been an amazing season uh love it hate it or not we were here for all of the discourse lauren it is always a pleasure no matter what time zone you are in we can't wait to see you
