[00:05:48] It never raises on my plate.

[00:05:50] And then a nice biscuit in the middle.

[00:05:53] It could have used a little bit more seasoning.

[00:05:57] I've got to keep it down because the family's downstairs.

[00:06:01] It was a decent meal.

[00:06:15] And when we went back for seconds, we actually got some more vegetables back in the mix.

[00:06:27] I started putting everything kind of on its own little side.

[00:06:30] And then lastly, I had to grab the roll.

[00:07:41] He was sitting on my lap and he had his own plate, but he just kept on taking it off of my plate and taking it off of my Uncle Larry, who was sitting next to me, his plate.

[00:07:50] So when he was enjoying himself and, yeah, he wasn't...

[00:07:56] He was annihilating the mac and cheese.

[00:07:59] He wasn't going in on the turkey too hard, though.

[00:08:02] Yeah.

[00:08:03] I'd say your son has a knack for photography because he took this photo of the plate and it's the angle for me.

[00:08:13] So we're going to have to get him a camera or something for Christmas.

[00:11:42] So I feel like, you know, we had to talk about it.

[00:11:44] And how was your Thanksgiving spread, Maddie?

[00:11:47] It was good.

[00:11:49] Um, my dad in the last few years has been doing HelloFresh, not sponsored, not sponsored.

[00:11:55] Just, he does do HelloFresh.

[00:11:56] I want to.

[00:12:00] And he has gone from not cooking at all to being really proud of his cooking.

[00:12:06] So every year at Thanksgiving, he's been doing it on his own.

[00:12:10] I did the cranberry sauce, so I helped a little bit, but he has been every year getting better.

[00:12:16] So it was really cute.

[00:12:17] He did a great job.

[00:12:19] So was Thanksgiving dinner like seven different HelloFresh meals?

[00:12:56] So this year we had two in one car, two in another.

[00:13:02] So we get home at like 3am.

[00:13:04] I'm telling you 9am the next day, people are whispering in the kitchen.

[00:13:10] One of my sisters said, Maddie, I want to let you know, we're going to call her Vanessa.

[00:13:14] Vanessa is going to come talk to you today.

[00:13:15] I'm like, well, I'm blowing up my other sister's spot who just told me this.

[00:13:18] Cause I'm like, I don't want any of this drama.

[00:21:44] Genevieve gets thrown in the mix, but it didn't even seem like there was that much traction for it during the episode.

[00:21:51] So, and then, like, the whole, I guess the other story is this underdog alliance forming.

[00:21:56] But it's like, all right, well, now you have the majority.

[00:21:59] You have some good people in the mix on there.

[00:22:01] The people that aren't in there are, like, Sam, Genevieve, and Kyle.

[00:22:05] And by no means are they, like, the big dogs, right?

[00:22:09] Like, Sam's been struggling since the merge to, like, get in with the group.

[00:22:12] Genevieve has lost a lot of her leverage since the Saul vote at James Jones.

[00:22:18] I told you so.

[00:22:19] And Kyle has just been, like, you know, not really taking a lot of agency in the game.

[00:22:26] So, they call themselves the underdog.

[00:22:28] But it's like, now you got to, the winner is probably in that group now.

[00:22:32] So, I don't know.

[00:22:35] Like, there's obviously some different things throughout the episode we can get into.

[00:22:39] But what sort of, like, Frank, what stuck out to you?

[00:23:37] But it's like, I really feel like I love Genevieve.

[00:23:39] But it's almost like she's backed herself into this corner where it's like, you don't really have too many places to go.

[00:23:47] And it's like these power moves that are such power moves two episodes ago.

[00:23:53] Like, it's like Tetris.

[00:23:55] You know when you play in Tetris?

[00:23:56] And it's like, doop, doop, doop.

[00:23:59] And you're like, ooh, that slot right there is really good.

[00:24:02] But then you're like, well, maybe I shouldn't have put that piece that got the thing hanging down right there.

[00:24:11] So it's just I'm looking at a lot of different players like Genevieve.

[00:24:16] I'm even looking at players like Kyle where it's like, wow, like these other moves that you've done in the past were really great.

[00:24:23] But you kind of get, like, landlocked.

[00:24:26] I also, my last other comment is maybe as a viewer, we didn't see it.

[00:24:29] But if I'm Gabe watching this episode, my, like, hindsight or Monday morning quarterbacking, like, I didn't realize how much agency Gabe had in this game.

[00:24:43] Because this episode right here, the fact that so many more moving pieces are able to move now because Gabe is out.

[00:24:51] I'm like, Gabe really had that ish on lock.

[00:24:55] There was a lot of fallout.

[00:26:09] So when I was in casting, I think if his perception of you is that you are, like, strong in yourself,

[00:26:15] then he's trying to get you off kilter a little bit so that you can be more raw, more forthcoming with what you're thinking.

[00:26:23] Because nobody's just strong, right?

[00:26:25] They're like, everybody's got insecurities.

[00:26:27] Everybody has self-doubts, whatever.

[00:26:28] So I think that's what he was doing.

[00:26:30] I think he was trying to pull out what's really going on in Genevieve's head because she's so poised and articulate.

[00:26:40] And like, she's so much like we were watching her.

[00:26:43] I remember in the cast assessment, I'm like, that could be the winner right there.

[00:26:47] And we watched her play so strong.

[00:26:49] And like you said, poised, making these moves.

[00:26:51] And we're seeing a different Genevieve now where it's just like, man, this person.

[00:26:57] It's almost like the game doesn't look fun to her anymore.

[00:27:00] It's almost like the product of a lot of strong moves that she made.

[00:27:04] It's catching up to her.

[00:27:06] And she's like, man, like it actually hurt to vote out Kashawn and watch him say that he trusted me or like these other moves.

[00:27:13] It actually hurts me.

[00:27:14] And I think we got a confessional where she said she'd rather be the villain that has to make these tough calls and send people home than a friend who is because then that hurts even more.

[00:27:25] And it's interesting to watch this Genevieve arc right now.

[00:27:30] And especially now that she's not in a power position.

[00:27:32] She's a powerful player.

[00:27:34] But we're watching her like it's almost like she's she's crumbling a little bit or or her her ties are crumbling.

[00:27:40] What I want to see.

[00:27:42] I'm sorry.

[00:27:43] I just want to I want to see her like snap back into the Genevieve we know and like just keep on working these angles.

[00:27:51] It's like go look for idols.

[00:27:57] I also think what Genevieve said regarding like even at tribal council, I didn't think it was like the smartest thing for her to say out loud when she was saying I disconnect.

[00:28:11] And I'm like Genevieve girl.

[00:28:12] First of all, you can't say that because now everybody looking at you like, well, well, damn, sis.

[00:28:18] And I again, I always say this to the people that watch Survivor.

[00:28:22] Like it is you can go in there being like I'm the mastermind.

[00:28:30] And I think that one of Genevieve's flaws in this is that she's playing as player Genevieve.

[00:28:41] Like Gabe made that heart to heart connection.

[00:28:43] Like, and look how ride or die Sue is.

[00:28:47] I really think that like Genevieve got to like morph into like real Genevieve and player Genevieve because it's like it's a business transaction.

[00:28:56] And it's going to be hard to get to the end.

[00:28:58] Now, I mean, you're playing phenomenally, but like you got to have a little heart.

[00:29:01] Like you can't just cut it off.

[00:29:05] I think that some people and I might be like this to compartmentalize.

[00:29:09] So, like I have work Maddie and I have fun Maddie and there are kind of two modes.

[00:29:15] And I wonder if in Genevieve's life she's had to like compartmentalize and that's what she's doing here.

[00:29:21] But I agree with you.

[00:29:22] Like some really successful players like Jam Jam.

[00:29:25] You better believe that Jam Jam in his personal life and Jam Jam at work, they morph.

[00:29:29] And that's why he's so successful in life and survivor, et cetera, is like finding that balance.

[00:29:35] Like you can be in production mode doing your thing, but you both have like you're able to incorporate the personal in it.

[00:29:43] And I think that especially in the new era makes people really successful.

[00:29:47] So I agree with you, Bryce, if she can come back into her body and find the balance.

[00:29:53] But I can see the psychology that she's working through of like almost maybe wondering like what's the point of this game?

[00:30:00] Or like or she's trying to stick to the point of the game, but forgetting that like it's complicated.

[00:30:08] I mean, I certainly felt that even in the first three days, like I did sort of feel like I thought I wanted to do this.

[00:30:13] And now I'm wondering if like if I'm cut out for it.

[00:30:19] And Jack, you were on Survivor 2, so you speak to this.

[00:30:23] Whenever I'm with Jack at Survivor, people are like, who's this?

[00:30:39] I think I did from the opposite angle, right?

[00:30:41] Like I think that like for me, it was more the emotional side and the connection side.

[00:30:46] And it wasn't so much of like the gameplay and the aspect because for me, it's just a little different.

[00:30:53] Like I just I was just unable to penetrate the majority of my tribe.

[00:30:58] Like they couldn't really see the business price.

[00:31:00] Even when I would try to present it, they just like, oh, OK.

[00:31:03] And so it was more like the emotional side.

[00:31:06] I another just real quick thing that you said about like Genevieve, work Genevieve and personal Genevieve.

[00:31:12] I just need Genevieve to go to the holiday party.

[00:31:15] Like just get to the holiday party, Genevieve, where it's like work and personal a little bit like that.

[00:31:21] Like that's the perfect mix we need.

[00:31:29] So Genevieve's case is interesting because she came in playing pretty savage pretty early, right?

[00:31:38] And, you know, that's sometimes something, you know, that those big betrayals, a lot of times people save that for the end of the game.

[00:31:44] And for her, I wonder, to me, I mean, A, it was clear how much it affected Teenie, who was someone that she was close to.

[00:31:52] And maybe that hurt.

[00:31:53] And part of me also wonders like, hey, outside of Genevieve's feelings about it, maybe it's like she makes this big move and all of a sudden people don't really trust her because of this move.

[00:32:03] She's kind of on the outs.

[00:32:04] And maybe part of her is thinking like, oh, when I play a little bit more savagely, that lands me on the outside like it did last time, which isn't necessarily a direct result, but just because of the move that she made.

[00:32:16] So maybe she's like, oh, I did all this and now I'm on the bottom.

[00:32:21] And it's like maybe she's just kind of correlating those things with like, oh, that was bad because now I'm in a bad spot.

[00:32:28] When it's like, no, if you can flip that switch back on at the right time, get to that holiday party or up a little eggnog, do a little white Christmas or white elephant or whatever it is.

[00:32:44] Then she can be back in a good spot.

[00:32:46] So I'm hoping, you know, maybe she's now she's survived a couple tribals where she was kind of the second option.

[00:32:58] But I'm definitely she's a great player, but I'm a little bit worried with the spot that she's ended up in.

[00:33:14] I am hoping that Andy can win.

[00:33:18] Do we think it might be a case of editing in the sense of we are seeing this Andy that is this mastermind?

[00:33:29] It was interesting when Genevieve started poaching people and she was like, these people that we just bringing on along.

[00:33:36] Like, how about we get rid of them?

[00:33:37] And she mentions Andy.

[00:33:42] And Sue, right.

[00:33:43] But more specifically, Andy, because they don't really show Sue that the editors as somebody like Sue was just loyal and riding on.

[00:33:51] But with Andy, it's like even if Andy is doing all of these great things, it's perception that matters.

[00:33:56] And it's like, I don't know.

[00:33:57] I just thought that was really telling that she would name an Andy.

[00:34:01] And I'm like, wow.

[00:34:02] Is do they still not see Andy for all like and is that a good position for Andy to be in?

[00:34:08] Or is that like not great for Andy to be in is the question.

[00:34:14] I think that since Andy's first day when he when he fell out on the sand and did all of that.

[00:34:37] But that also helps Andy because now we're getting these awesome confessionals where he's like he is making moves, but he's also being the Andy that we saw on day one.

[00:34:45] Like there are multiple sides to Andy.

[00:34:47] So you have a Genevieve who has been playing the game, making tough moves, like really playing Survivor since day one.

[00:34:55] And she might look at an Andy like we saw him on day one.

[00:34:58] But in actuality, Andy is making he's talking to people like and again, it's easier to get to the end of the game when people look at you as someone they want to sit next to.

[00:35:10] So it could be a two way street.

[00:35:11] But Andy is still opening those doors and having these conversations and sitting in his confessionals and explaining his moves.

[00:35:18] So I think there's a world where Andy does get to the end of the game and he does receive some votes because he made a lot of these connections and he's able to articulate it.

[00:35:28] But I also think there's a world where he gets some votes, but people are mad at him for the same thing that he admitted to in this tribal council where he was like, I lied to all of their faces and sent them home.

[00:35:41] So like I could see people appreciating that and I could see people bitter about that.

[00:35:47] But I can certainly see Andy sitting somewhere at the end.

[00:35:50] And I think, you know, I think, you know, we heard early in the season all these high school analogies about like I only had four friends.

[00:36:07] I wasn't sitting at the cool kids table.

[00:36:09] And to me now, Andy's gameplay kind of feels like someone who wants to see that cool kids table.

[00:36:17] And maybe there's a few different cool kids tables and Andy's put himself in a position where it's like, oh, I could grab my chicken nuggets from the lunch lady.

[00:36:25] And I could go sit at a couple of different tables, which is great in terms of his connections.

[00:36:29] But I don't really think he's a core.

[00:36:31] We talked about, is he a glue guy?

[00:36:33] I don't think so.

[00:36:34] He's someone who could bounce around in these different spots, but he's not that core person for any of the groups.

[00:36:40] And he's got a lot of agency, it seems like, and a lot of connections.

[00:36:43] But and we see him time and time again getting confessionals like, oh, I mean, I could do whatever I want.

[00:36:48] But I look at it, I'm like, has he really made any game winning moves yet?

[00:36:54] Not really.

[00:36:55] Like we see this episode, he wants to go for Genevieve, which I actually think is the right move.

[00:37:00] But he kind of gets written off like the case he makes.

[00:37:03] And Bryce, talking about Kyle's immunity, Ron, you guys were like, no one's out there thinking that.

[00:37:10] My boy Andy is.

[00:37:12] But he makes this case and it just doesn't really get a lot of traction.

[00:37:16] So for me, it feels like Andy's, it reminds me of high school.

[00:37:19] There's kids where, you know, they'll try to get in with every crew, but they don't really have their own squad.

[00:37:24] And that's going to get him in trouble.

[00:37:26] Not to mention, like you said, where he's talking to the jury like, I lied to all their faces.

[00:37:30] It feels a little bit like braggadocious.

[00:37:34] Like he's kind of rubbing it in and it's not so much, there's not enough finesse right there.

[00:37:38] So I really, I think Andy could go real far, but I don't think anyone's really taken his game super seriously.

[00:37:44] So I think he's going to get to the end.

[00:37:46] I think he played a Tony Vlaco's game and really like laid on the jury and then maybe get like one to zero votes is kind of how I feel.

[00:38:01] I would say Rachel's the most gluey.

[00:38:04] And she's in this underdog alliance where she's, I think, the best player in that group right now.

[00:38:11] And she's got some tricks up her sleeve with an idol, with a block of vote and some clear targets in front of her.

[00:38:16] So if I was a betting man, I'd bet the house on Rachel because I think she's going to be able to get to five pretty easily.

[00:38:22] Maybe play her idol, maybe win a challenge, do well in fire and really have a good case at the end.

[00:41:23] And I'm struggling with that right now.

[00:41:25] Like that was such a real moment.

[00:41:28] And in my opinion, to know that about Caroline and to see the way that she's able to maneuver

[00:41:34] through this game in such an authentic, honest way.

[00:41:41] It's so refreshing.

[00:41:41] Like she had to turn on Gabe and pissed off Sue.

[00:41:46] She ain't run from it.
