Nothing But Netflix: She’s All That

In this week’s episode, Rob and Chappell watch and discuss the 1990's classic, She's All That, with special guest, Josh Wigler (@roundhoward).

[00:00:00] I was flipping through the channels the other day, but there was nothing good on, I had nothing to play. So I went to my computer and realized that there was so much content before my eye that you burst.

[00:00:35] Yes, that's right! Nothing But Netflix is back with a special edition this week! We're talking about... we've never done a Paramount Plus. We'll figure out what that is called here on this special feature, talking about the film.

[00:00:52] 1999's She's All That, a topical film, this week with a guy. Some say he's all that. And the bag of chips, it's Chappelle!

[00:01:03] Hey!

[00:01:04] What do we call a Paramount Plus joint?

[00:01:07] I got nothing. I got nothing. I didn't watch this on Paramount Plus because...

[00:01:12] Oh, would you watch it? Prime?

[00:01:14] I kind of have this movie memorized. It's not even... you know, like...

[00:01:16] So I was like, this is a classic Nothing But Netflix because, you know, this is a classic movie. I don't know. Maybe we call it Nothing But Netflix classic.

[00:01:24] Remember Turner Classic Movies? Yeah.

[00:01:26] Maybe we just have like a set for just nostalgic movies like when we did Back to the Future and stuff like that.

[00:01:31] Yes. Okay. The movie He's All That is on Netflix. She's All That is on Paramount Plus. Hence the synergy as it's referenced here in the latest episode of Survivor.

[00:01:42] And so we will get into all of that here with a very special guest, of course, from We Know Scripted TV, Josh Wiggler. Josh, how are you?

[00:01:55] I'm doing quite well. Thank you for having me, even though... Did I qualify for this podcast because I got LASIK and removed my glasses? Is that...

[00:02:07] One of the many reasons, one of the many reasons that this was... It was kind of a bet.

[00:02:11] Just... I didn't want to let you in on that too early, but Rob didn't tell you? This was a whole bet. Like, I bet I could get Josh Wiggler.

[00:02:17] That's how it started, but it was different. That's not why.

[00:02:22] That's literally why. Am I a bet?

[00:02:24] You're an effing bet.

[00:02:25] No, I... Am I a fracking bet?

[00:02:26] No, no, no. This is...

[00:02:28] That Chappelle was like, like, hey, do you want to have Josh on the podcast? And I was like, bet.

[00:02:34] And then he took it the wrong way.

[00:02:36] No, I took it the right way, Josh. I'm sorry to tell you this.

[00:02:39] So despite your glasses and your paint-covered overalls, you are here as a bet.

[00:02:43] And I won. I won the bet. You're here. Look at that.

[00:02:46] All right. Well, Chappelle, are we still going to prom together or...?

[00:02:48] Yeah, we got to. We got to. Sorry, Rob.

[00:02:50] You're naked at graduation.

[00:02:52] So, let's just... Okay, we're going to...

[00:02:55] Chachi Bichon does have some suggestions for a Paramount.

[00:02:59] Yes. What is it?

[00:03:01] There's a couple of good ones.

[00:03:03] On the plus side?

[00:03:05] On the plus side. That's what I was going to say. Yeah.

[00:03:07] I like on the plus side. Okay.

[00:03:09] Plus or bust?

[00:03:10] But on the plus side, there's like five...

[00:03:12] There's like too many pluses.

[00:03:14] But plus or bust?

[00:03:15] Plus or bust.

[00:03:17] Plus or bust.

[00:03:17] I think it's got to be more about the Paramount.

[00:03:20] Oh.

[00:03:21] Yeah.

[00:03:23] They don't have a lot of real...

[00:03:25] Paramountly speaking is not that.

[00:03:28] Paramount.

[00:03:28] Paramount importance.

[00:03:29] Yeah.

[00:03:30] Yeah.

[00:03:31] I think unfortunately, we're really looking at pluses.

[00:03:35] Like Apple TV plus and...

[00:03:38] Yeah.

[00:03:39] Yeah.

[00:03:39] Try this again, but emphasis on Paramount.

[00:03:43] Okay.

[00:03:43] All right.

[00:03:43] In the meantime, while ChatGPT is working on that, for the...

[00:03:49] Survivor watching...

[00:03:50] I'm going to vote for...

[00:03:50] Sorry.

[00:03:52] That's a wrong Survivor clip that I pulled.

[00:03:55] So, for Survivor fans, we are going to spoil through episode eight of Survivor 47, in case you have not watched it yet.

[00:04:04] But, a player in this Survivor season, Andy, talked about his position in the game this week.

[00:04:15] And he described it as being overlooked by some of the other people from his starting tribe.

[00:04:21] This is how he described his situation.

[00:04:23] I feel like this is my, like, she's all that makeover moment.

[00:04:27] I'm starting this game just like, oh, hi, I'm Andy.

[00:04:31] Like, please like me.

[00:04:33] Syrup Sam, like, you're the cool kids.

[00:04:35] Like, can you, can I sit at your lunch table?

[00:04:37] And now I'm at the merge.

[00:04:43] And I'm getting a lot cooler.

[00:04:44] And, like, I don't need to wear these freaking glasses anymore.

[00:04:46] And I could be the Andy that I believe myself to be.

[00:04:52] I could be my full version of myself.

[00:04:54] And I can turn into the pivotal player in this host merge.

[00:04:58] So, I had said to Chappelle and Josh said, hey, we gotta go back to 1999.

[00:05:05] Just in general.

[00:05:06] But, specifically, to go watch 1999's She's All That.

[00:05:10] Because what other things will it tell us about Andy's position?

[00:05:14] How the merge and how maybe Survivor 47 at large is going to turn out?

[00:05:19] Maybe it's all there and she's all that.

[00:05:22] Yeah.

[00:05:23] Well, everyone else is there and she's all that.

[00:05:26] So, I feel like the odds are there's gonna be something to divine.

[00:05:30] There's a lot to unpack here.

[00:05:32] So, we've watched it.

[00:05:33] We're ready to talk about it.

[00:05:34] Now, Chappelle, you and I are especially prepared to talk about that.

[00:05:37] Because earlier this summer on Nothing But Netflix,

[00:05:39] and of course, you could hear all of our Nothing But Netflix episodes.

[00:05:42] Go to robbiswebs.com slash Netflix for that every week.

[00:05:46] We've got great coverage of everything that's coming out on Netflix

[00:05:50] that you want to hear about.

[00:05:51] And we talked about a movie from one of Chappelle's favorite movies of all time,

[00:05:57] from right around this timeframe.

[00:06:01] 2001's Not Another Teen Movie, which borrows heavily from She's All That.

[00:06:07] Yeah.

[00:06:08] That's largely why I don't think I have to watch She's All That ever again.

[00:06:10] Because I know Not Another Teen Movie by Heart.

[00:06:12] And it's pretty much the same movie with just added influences from other teen movies.

[00:06:17] But the connective tissue is obviously, you know, this storyline about

[00:06:20] we made a bet to make somebody prom queen,

[00:06:22] but we got to beautify her because she wears glasses and she has paint cover overalls.

[00:06:25] Ew, that's gross, right?

[00:06:26] And so, Andy is going through something similar.

[00:06:29] He feels like his glasses and overalls are making him somebody that they can't trust the game.

[00:06:33] Actually, a different survivor player is paint covered, but that's a totally different movie.

[00:06:37] That's neither here nor there.

[00:06:37] Yeah.

[00:06:38] Yeah.

[00:06:38] Neither here nor there.

[00:06:40] But yes.

[00:06:41] That's more like the movie Never Been Kissed, which is also parodied in Not Another Teen Movie.

[00:06:45] Wow.

[00:06:46] Right.

[00:06:46] Yeah.

[00:06:46] And that lady was definitely not 45 either in Not Another Teen Movie.

[00:06:51] Sue Barrymore.

[00:06:52] But Andy is struggling because he's like, I got to be a part of the cool kids crowd.

[00:06:57] And, you know, this is my She's All That moment.

[00:06:59] Okay, cool.

[00:06:59] We reviewed the tape.

[00:07:01] Let's see if this is a She's All That moment.

[00:07:02] And what does that mean for Andy's game?

[00:07:04] Mm-hmm.

[00:07:04] Yeah.

[00:07:05] All right.

[00:07:05] So we can talk about all of that.

[00:07:08] I ironically, just another full circle thing about this.

[00:07:11] I believe that the Netflix movie, He's All That was covered on Robin Akiva Need A Podcast

[00:07:16] on the Robin Akiva Need A Podcast episode in which Nothing But Netflix was born.

[00:07:21] Yeah.

[00:07:22] Look at that.

[00:07:22] So we've really come all the way.

[00:07:25] Whoa, really?

[00:07:26] Like that's how Nothing But Netflix happened?

[00:07:28] Yes.

[00:07:28] Yeah.

[00:07:29] I was on a plane listening to a podcast and listening to Renap and I woke up and I heard

[00:07:35] my name because I sleep on all my flights.

[00:07:37] And I woke up like, I was like, wait, who's talking about me?

[00:07:39] And so I had to rewind it.

[00:07:40] And Akiva was like, yeah, you could call it Nothing But Netflix or something.

[00:07:43] And I was like, wait, what is happening?

[00:07:44] I think I came up with it.

[00:07:46] Well, I don't know.

[00:07:46] Listen, listen, we'll have to go back to that tape.

[00:07:48] Rewind the tape.

[00:07:49] Don't give Akiva credit for my idea.

[00:07:51] Rewind the tape to 99.

[00:07:52] Let's go find out how it was.

[00:07:54] But yeah, I definitely was like, was very surprised that this was coming up.

[00:07:57] Get off the plane.

[00:07:58] I sent a text like, is there something you want to tell me?

[00:08:00] And so, yeah, Nothing But Netflix was born.

[00:08:02] And I think I like all the connective tissue here.

[00:08:05] There's so much.

[00:08:05] Dulé Hill is in this movie.

[00:08:06] Well, and then also, I think then the first Nothing But Netflix proper that we did was

[00:08:10] talking about Squid Game with Josh Wiggler.

[00:08:12] So it's all full circle.

[00:08:14] Yeah.

[00:08:14] I think it was the perfect time to announce the series finale of Nothing But Netflix here

[00:08:20] with the She's All That.

[00:08:21] Well, and there's a ton of connective tissue in the cast of this movie.

[00:08:25] As Chappelle mentioned, Dulé Hill, of course, star of Suits, which Chappelle and I podcast

[00:08:31] all about.

[00:08:32] Also launched here on Nothing But Netflix.

[00:08:35] Let's be clear.

[00:08:36] Yes.

[00:08:36] Our first Suits episode was right here on Nothing But Netflix.

[00:08:39] OK.

[00:08:39] For the OGs, they remember.

[00:08:40] All right.

[00:08:41] We have Kieran Culkin is also here.

[00:08:44] Star of Succession.

[00:08:45] Josh.

[00:08:47] Who knew?

[00:08:48] Like, who not?

[00:08:48] He's definitely already doing some Roman Roy stuff here.

[00:08:52] He's already him.

[00:08:53] He's fully formed.

[00:08:54] He's making margaritas and he's like 15, 14, 13.

[00:08:57] He's making margaritas and he's like, he's like spiking drinks too.

[00:09:01] Yeah.

[00:09:01] And he's like, he's like sending people off to drive after that as a prank.

[00:09:06] Like that's some Roman Roy stuff we're doing.

[00:09:08] Yeah.

[00:09:09] Making people eat their pews.

[00:09:10] Yeah.

[00:09:10] Well, he didn't make anyone do that.

[00:09:12] He was completely.

[00:09:14] In a very heroic moment, mind you.

[00:09:17] Yes.

[00:09:17] And then also, Matthew Lillard is here and connect him back to not only is he a reality TV star

[00:09:26] in this film, he also is the star of Jeff Probst's directorial debut, Finder's Fee.

[00:09:35] He was in Finder's Fee, Matthew Lillard?

[00:09:37] I believe so.

[00:09:38] Right?

[00:09:39] That's incredible.

[00:09:41] Also, last week we talked about time cut here on nothing but Netflix and it was a parody

[00:09:46] of Scream and a lot of people know that Matthew Lillard was, you know, one of the characters in the Scream franchise as well.

[00:09:52] Yeah.

[00:09:53] I don't know if he's the star of Finder's Fee, but he is in Finder's Fee with an all-star cast with Ryan Reynolds, James Earl Jones and Robert Forster.

[00:10:04] I heard Ryan Reynolds isn't that funny.

[00:10:07] In Finder's Fee or in real life?

[00:10:09] Generally.

[00:10:10] Generally.

[00:10:10] Yeah.

[00:10:11] I heard he's only attracted to men.

[00:10:13] Yeah.

[00:10:13] People tell me that only men think Ryan Reynolds is hot.

[00:10:16] Women are like, eh.

[00:10:17] Yeah.

[00:10:17] Yeah.

[00:10:18] That may or may not be true.

[00:10:19] Okay.

[00:10:20] He's all that.

[00:10:21] I think you could pull on a lot of different strings here on she's all that and you wouldn't have to go six degrees to land on RHAP.

[00:10:29] I think that's because she's all that is as star stud an affair as you could possibly get for the year 1999.

[00:10:39] Like this is among the very most 90s movies you could possibly get.

[00:10:46] And what's great about it is as a 1999 movie, this is like the last gasp of the 90s as well.

[00:10:53] This is like the 90s being like, all right, let's dance it out.

[00:10:57] Things are never going to be like this again.

[00:10:59] Hit the fat boy slim.

[00:11:00] Ultra 90s.

[00:11:03] So just a bygone era being chronicled here in she's all that.

[00:11:08] 1999, the last year without Survivor also.

[00:11:11] That's right.

[00:11:11] There you go.

[00:11:12] Yeah.

[00:11:13] I like it because it does feel like there's a, like, it's like the new Brat Pack of sorts, you know, like now looking back, like in the moment it didn't have that same impact of like, look at these teen stars, these young adults that are like taking Hollywood by storm.

[00:11:27] But when you look back at these young adults, like, no, these were the next, the people who were next up Gabrielle Union, you know, Dulé Hill, Freddie Prinze Jr.

[00:11:34] Like these people, like we did not know how big they were going to be, you know, and a lot of them have become legends in Hollywood at this point.

[00:11:41] And I think a lot of it starts here at she's all that.

[00:11:44] Okay. All right.

[00:11:45] She's all that.

[00:11:46] The story of one high school and one special, a couple of students that are special.

[00:11:54] We meet Lainey Boggs.

[00:11:57] We talked about Janie.

[00:11:58] Was she Janie Boggs in?

[00:12:00] Janie Briggs.

[00:12:01] Janie Stainy Stainpants Overalls is what they call her.

[00:12:04] Yeah.

[00:12:04] Yeah.

[00:12:06] She's an art student.

[00:12:08] And should we meet her waking up her brother for juice?

[00:12:14] Yeah.

[00:12:15] And she's going to hock a loogie in it.

[00:12:16] She was going to do it too.

[00:12:18] She's going to hock too.

[00:12:21] So, Kieran Culkin is in bed and he refuses to get out of bed.

[00:12:26] And she says, hey, get out of bed or I'm going to hock a loogie in your juice.

[00:12:30] And that seems like it's just a threat.

[00:12:32] But then he opens the door just as like, she like, just like suck the spit back up.

[00:12:39] Like she's about to do it.

[00:12:41] Don't mess with Lainey Boggs.

[00:12:44] There are no empty threats.

[00:12:45] Take Lainey Boggs at her word.

[00:12:47] She's telling you the truth.

[00:12:49] Yeah.

[00:12:49] She's a unique rebel.

[00:12:50] You know, she listens to Bikini Kill.

[00:12:52] You know, she's dark, twisty.

[00:12:53] You know, she's not like the other girls.

[00:12:55] So, Kieran Culkin's character, Simon Boggs, a little brother.

[00:12:59] Did you feel like, is he recognizable?

[00:13:04] Yeah.

[00:13:05] All the Culkin's look exactly the same.

[00:13:07] Like, I couldn't tell you which one it was when I first saw it.

[00:13:09] But I was like, it's one of them.

[00:13:10] And I think you just have to use process of elimination.

[00:13:12] Like, Macaulay is too old for this to be him.

[00:13:15] But it could be one of those other two.

[00:13:16] Did either of you notice, is he wearing a hearing aid in the film?

[00:13:20] Yeah.

[00:13:20] Okay.

[00:13:21] Is that mentioned in the plot in any way?

[00:13:25] Is that like a deleted storyline that he is hard of hearing?

[00:13:30] I think it's just a grace note on the character.

[00:13:34] Yeah.

[00:13:34] His Culkin, I think, well, his IMDB or whatever,

[00:13:39] said that his character was originally written to be deaf and have no lines.

[00:13:44] But the narrative was changed during the filming.

[00:13:47] So, like, they had a thing.

[00:13:48] You're in Culkin.

[00:13:50] Yeah.

[00:13:51] Right.

[00:13:52] Like, okay, we can't shut him up if we try.

[00:13:55] Mm-hmm.

[00:13:55] Okay.

[00:13:56] So, I guess I already had filmed some of the scenes with a hearing aid.

[00:14:00] He just kept coming up to Freddie Prinze Jr.

[00:14:01] and doing secret handshakes.

[00:14:02] Be like, what's up, player?

[00:14:04] It's like, okay, we just gotta leave this in.

[00:14:06] Let him talk.

[00:14:07] Let the kids speak.

[00:14:08] Okay.

[00:14:09] Lainey Boggs, played by Rachel Lee Cook.

[00:14:13] Some say too many bugs, Josh.

[00:14:15] Ah!

[00:14:15] There's a Rachel on Survivor.

[00:14:17] Yes.

[00:14:18] And I think it's very important that as we're trying to map She's All That

[00:14:22] onto Survivor here as we're entering the jury phase of the season,

[00:14:25] that we need to chart Rachel's journey not just as it pertains to Andy,

[00:14:30] but we should chart it as it pertains to Rachel as well.

[00:14:33] Mm-hmm.

[00:14:34] Yeah.

[00:14:34] And that's Safety Without Power, I think, a couple times throughout the film.

[00:14:38] Certainly.

[00:14:39] Mm-hmm.

[00:14:39] All right.

[00:14:40] So, she is the child of Kevin Pollack is here.

[00:14:47] I love Kevin Pollack.

[00:14:48] Yeah.

[00:14:49] What's Kevin Pollack like to do now?

[00:14:51] He's my favorite fish.

[00:14:51] No clue.

[00:14:53] Mm-hmm.

[00:14:53] He's a terrible father though, I think.

[00:14:55] You think so?

[00:14:57] Yeah.

[00:14:57] I do.

[00:14:58] Why?

[00:14:59] So, he's like, he's single dadding it and just very, very passively.

[00:15:06] He's a widow.

[00:15:07] Widow.

[00:15:07] Widow.

[00:15:08] He's a widower.

[00:15:10] With respect.

[00:15:11] Mm-hmm.

[00:15:12] He's just allowing his daughter to run the whole house.

[00:15:16] And he's just like, sort of like, fully leaning into it.

[00:15:18] And like, he has some moments where there was like, ah, you should just be a kid and get

[00:15:23] things done.

[00:15:24] And so like, okay, that's easy enough to say, but are you then going to clean the house or

[00:15:28] are you still just going to watch TV with Kieran Culkin?

[00:15:32] He's like, well, I'm still just going to watch TV with Kieran Culkin, but I'll be rooting

[00:15:37] for you to get laid by Freddie Prinze Jr.

[00:15:39] Whoa!

[00:15:39] So it's like a lot of like, weird energy I feel like coming from Kevin Pollak.

[00:15:43] Yeah.

[00:15:45] He says later on in the movie, hey, like, hey, I'm a businessman.

[00:15:48] I own my own business.

[00:15:49] I put food on the table.

[00:15:51] I want a team effort.

[00:15:53] Yeah.

[00:15:53] He's a pool cleaning guy, but I'm also, I'm a good guy as well.

[00:15:57] You know, he doesn't want his 17 year old to be the adult of the house, even though

[00:16:01] she is, you know, she just is.

[00:16:02] Yeah.

[00:16:03] He just lets it happen.

[00:16:04] Mm-hmm.

[00:16:04] Yeah.

[00:16:05] He's not doing enough to sort of like free her from her status as the, the, the keeper

[00:16:11] of the house.

[00:16:12] Mm-hmm.

[00:16:12] Yeah.

[00:16:12] He's, he's in mourning.

[00:16:13] We have to see him still feeling the grief.

[00:16:16] Okay.

[00:16:16] Okay.

[00:16:17] So let's meet our cast of characters at the high school.

[00:16:21] Okay.

[00:16:21] Freddie Prinze Jr.

[00:16:23] Is Zach Seiler.

[00:16:26] Uh, some research on this film, uh, suggests that Freddie Prinze Jr.

[00:16:31] was to be fired, uh, during the making of this movie because he wasn't good enough.

[00:16:37] Uh, the director thought that he was uncharismatic and not, uh, pulling his weight.

[00:16:43] So he was given, uh, some, uh, additional acting training and he came back better than

[00:16:49] ever.

[00:16:49] Wow.

[00:16:50] So the, so the legends go about.

[00:16:52] This is big break.

[00:16:54] He had already been doing, like he was in, uh, I know what you did last summer.

[00:16:59] Yes.

[00:17:00] Uh, he, I think wing commander had happened at this point, which he is a video game movie

[00:17:07] adaptation.

[00:17:07] That's horrible that he and Matthew Lillard were in.

[00:17:10] And so they became friends with Matthew Lillard.

[00:17:12] And so Matthew Lillard comes here because of their friendship, I think.

[00:17:16] Uh, and then of course they'll go on and join the, the mystery team, uh, and be part of

[00:17:21] the Scooby gang together.

[00:17:23] Uh, so yeah.

[00:17:24] Can I, can I say something bold?

[00:17:26] Yeah.

[00:17:27] Is this, is, is this, although it's one of his earliest fields, I think this is just

[00:17:31] like one of his, like, this is one of the most notable things he's ever done.

[00:17:35] You know, I got, I I'm hard pressed to find the more famous property that she's all

[00:17:40] that.

[00:17:40] Yeah.

[00:17:41] Oh, so he is on IMDB.

[00:17:45] Uh, she's all that Scooby doo.

[00:17:48] I know what you did last summer and I still know what you did last summer.

[00:17:51] She's all that.

[00:17:52] I'm sorry.

[00:17:53] I still know what you did last summer.

[00:17:55] No, that's the one with Brandy in it, huh?

[00:17:57] Brandy's in it.

[00:17:58] Brandy's in it.

[00:17:59] Yeah.

[00:18:00] He spends like the whole movie on a boat trying to like get to the island where

[00:18:05] the, I still know what you did last summer ring is happening.

[00:18:08] Yeah.

[00:18:09] And so he has a very, very, very boring storyline in that movie until the end.

[00:18:14] This is a star make role.

[00:18:15] And so if that is being considered one of his top four, that's not great.

[00:18:19] Uh, but I think, uh, I think it's doing an injustice to, yes, as you mentioned, he

[00:18:24] has a pivotal role in the final main season of 24.

[00:18:28] He is a prolific voice actor.

[00:18:31] He has lent his voice to a notable star Wars character and star Wars rebels.

[00:18:38] Uh, and, uh, he was also, um, he got married to Sarah Michelle Gellar.

[00:18:45] So who's laughing now?

[00:18:47] Okay.

[00:18:47] No, he definitely is a bigger celebrity than he is an actor.

[00:18:50] You know, like I feel like his name is way bigger than his, his filmography would, uh, suggest.

[00:18:55] Yeah.

[00:19:04] Yeah.

[00:19:05] Uh, Dean Sampson, detective Dean, uh, played by Paul Walker.

[00:19:12] RIP also, uh, connected to Robin and Kiva need a podcast through our, um, two, three fast,

[00:19:19] three furious series.

[00:19:22] Mm.

[00:19:23] Did you miss the opportunity here to do threes?

[00:19:27] All that threes, all that we could have on three X.

[00:19:30] Although I may have watched it on three.

[00:19:31] Yeah.

[00:19:32] Not quite three X for me.

[00:19:35] And, uh, he is here also in Dulay Hill.

[00:19:38] Also, uh, the aforementioned Dulay Hill, part of the gang.

[00:19:41] Of the friends, the friend group.

[00:19:44] Yeah.

[00:19:45] Very happy to see him here.

[00:19:46] Cause again, this is like where we, you know, we get our nothing but Netflix start for, uh,

[00:19:51] suits yourself, our podcast that if you're, if you're, if you're new to nothing but Netflix,

[00:19:54] we did a whole suits rewatch podcast, a daily suits rewatch podcast.

[00:19:58] First watch for Rob, where we went through no spoilers at all.

[00:20:01] So if you want to go check that out, um, you can go to, uh, suits yourself.com.

[00:20:05] I believe.

[00:20:05] Right.

[00:20:06] Uh, suits podcast.com.

[00:20:09] Yeah.

[00:20:09] Uh, I didn't realize, I didn't realize he was in suits.

[00:20:12] I know he was in, in psych.

[00:20:14] And for me, he came on late in the game.

[00:20:16] Yeah.

[00:20:16] Yeah.

[00:20:17] Is he, is he great on suits?

[00:20:19] So when Mike Ross leaves, he comes on.

[00:20:21] He's doing it.

[00:20:22] He's Catherine Heigl.

[00:20:23] Yeah.

[00:20:23] Yeah.

[00:20:23] Yeah.

[00:20:24] Yeah.

[00:20:24] Yeah.

[00:20:24] He's doing Dulé Hill, uh, things.

[00:20:26] And then also we see that, uh, Zach Seiler played by Freddie Prince jr.

[00:20:32] Has gotten dumped.

[00:20:35] Yeah.

[00:20:36] Um, his girlfriend is the hottest girl in school.

[00:20:39] Uh, I believe it's Taylor, Taylor Vaughn.

[00:20:41] Taylor, that Taylor Vaughn.

[00:20:44] Yeah.

[00:20:44] And piece.

[00:20:48] She's going, she's going to be, uh, the shoe in for prom queen, you know?

[00:20:53] Yeah.

[00:20:54] Yeah.

[00:20:54] And what happens was that we get a retelling of it is that Taylor Vaughn was at MTV spring

[00:21:00] break and she ends up meeting a guy named Brock Hudson played by Matthew Lillard, who is the

[00:21:08] star of one of a fictitious season of the real world.

[00:21:13] Uh, the, I think they say he's from the real world Los Angeles, but he is, uh, they say it's

[00:21:18] season two, uh, second real world Los Angeles.

[00:21:23] Yeah.

[00:21:24] Uh, so he's just there.

[00:21:26] He's puck, right?

[00:21:27] Like he's just puck.

[00:21:29] Yeah.

[00:21:29] He's just puck.

[00:21:30] Um, yeah.

[00:21:32] Cause puck is from the real world one, right?

[00:21:34] The first one or something like that.

[00:21:36] Yeah.

[00:21:36] And so, yeah, but I see, I don't, I guess season two was definitely out, but.

[00:21:40] Okay.

[00:21:40] Uh, and, and puck, I think you can also squint and connect him to, uh, this latest week of

[00:21:47] survivor as that he too was eating the peanut butter with his fingers.

[00:21:52] Yeah.

[00:21:53] Yeah.

[00:21:53] Yeah.

[00:21:54] He had some, some tough moments in the real world.

[00:21:57] Not just a pinky like Jeff.

[00:22:00] No, Rob, you making that cocaine reference was wild and I'll never forget it as long as

[00:22:04] I live.

[00:22:05] Oh, but, uh, yeah.

[00:22:07] Oh, wow.

[00:22:08] Yeah.

[00:22:08] I guess I didn't hear that on the podcast, but I certainly had that thought.

[00:22:11] Yeah.

[00:22:12] Um, but seeing him here.

[00:22:15] I have a lot of energy.

[00:22:16] Jeffrey does, you know, let him cook.

[00:22:18] Let him cook.

[00:22:19] Yeah.

[00:22:20] Let him cook.

[00:22:21] Yeah.

[00:22:22] And so guess what, Zach you're broken up with because, uh, Taylor Vaughn has met, uh,

[00:22:30] a new guy, Brock Hudson, and he's a star.

[00:22:33] She was such a big deal in high school.

[00:22:36] Did y'all have any like local celebrities at your high school where people were just fawning

[00:22:39] over them?

[00:22:40] Because if they'd happen at my school, I was not aware.

[00:22:42] Yeah.

[00:22:42] Um, at my high school, uh, Josh, yes.

[00:22:46] Josh went to high school.

[00:22:47] Lindsay Lohan was, was Lindsay Lohan in high school.

[00:22:51] Like a, was she like, had she had any degree of celebrity Josh?

[00:22:55] And then she had an institution.

[00:22:57] Yeah.

[00:22:57] She was, she was, uh, she entered high school having done the parent trap.

[00:23:03] I can't remember if she was still around during mean girls.

[00:23:08] Uh, there was another girl who she was best friends with who, uh, had red hair and people

[00:23:15] were very mean about her.

[00:23:17] Uh, they called her stunt double.

[00:23:19] Uh, no, it was just very cruel behavior.

[00:23:24] But as I've said multiple times on podcasts over the years, Lindsay Lohan was part of

[00:23:29] a group of people that threw ice cubes at people at a junior high dance and I got winged

[00:23:34] in the face.

[00:23:35] So I've always blamed Lindsay Lohan for that.

[00:23:38] And I have said in the past that I've dedicated my career to one day being a deep enough in

[00:23:43] the entertainment industry as to take Lindsay Lohan down.

[00:23:46] But that happened on its own.

[00:23:48] And now she seems like really on the up and up and I'm rooting for her again.

[00:23:52] So that's where I'm at on the Lindsay Lohan journey at this moment.

[00:23:54] I love that.

[00:23:55] I'm rooting for her success.

[00:23:57] That's crazy.

[00:23:58] There's a lot to be angry about these days and I'm not going to be angry about Lindsay

[00:24:01] Lohan anymore.

[00:24:02] I'm done with that.

[00:24:02] All right.

[00:24:03] We can connect her romantically to another survivor legend.

[00:24:07] Uh, and that's, uh, she was romantically involved with Ozzy.

[00:24:11] I believe that's right.

[00:24:12] Yes.

[00:24:13] Yes.

[00:24:14] So we're doing all the survivor things today.

[00:24:17] That's it.

[00:24:18] We've talked Lindsay Lohan a few times.

[00:24:19] If you want to keep connecting, we've talked about Lindsay Lohan a few times on nothing,

[00:24:23] but I suspect she's probably has another holiday movie coming up.

[00:24:27] I wouldn't be surprised if we talk about her again in the next month or so.

[00:24:31] It's a bag.

[00:24:32] Yeah.

[00:24:32] Okay.

[00:24:33] So meanwhile, Laney, she's a very involved with her art, um, that her art is very dark

[00:24:40] and I don't know.

[00:24:42] I, I, this is so interesting to me in terms of like, uh, with Laney Boggs, the artist be

[00:24:48] more celebrated in 2024 than she was, this is 25 years later for she's all that.

[00:24:54] I don't know if we've mentioned that 1999 to 2024.

[00:24:57] Uh, would her, with Laney Boggs, the artist as, uh, forget the pre-makeover, would she

[00:25:05] be more celebrated in 2024?

[00:25:09] I don't know.

[00:25:10] I don't know if she wasn't celebrated back then.

[00:25:11] You know, she gets this, uh, her work gets to the art school that she's trying to get

[00:25:15] to, you know, her teacher.

[00:25:16] But it's not until she has a fundamental shift.

[00:25:19] Oh yeah.

[00:25:20] So she takes off her glasses.

[00:25:21] Maybe that's what it was, you know, maybe she didn't need the glasses, you know, she should

[00:25:24] have been rod dogging it the whole time.

[00:25:25] Uh, it was dark.

[00:25:27] Her, her art was dark and twisty.

[00:25:29] Her classmates basically said like, why don't you kill yourself?

[00:25:31] Then people will respect your art even more.

[00:25:32] And I was like, wow.

[00:25:33] Not cool.

[00:25:34] That's awful.

[00:25:34] Yeah.

[00:25:37] But then, you know, like you said, due to their transformation, her art brightened up a

[00:25:40] little bit and then people were like, oh, this is palatable.

[00:25:43] We can do this.

[00:25:43] And so, yeah, later on, I think, um, you're right.

[00:25:46] Time will tell, but, uh, uh, Laney, Laney will be one of the artists of our day.

[00:25:50] I'm sure.

[00:25:51] And again, to sort of, uh, to, to, to, to try and, uh, bring this to the assignment

[00:25:56] of mapping this on to, uh, let's say baby Andy, right?

[00:26:00] Cause baby Andy is all that.

[00:26:02] He's Laney Boggs.

[00:26:02] Yeah.

[00:26:03] That's what we get.

[00:26:03] Baby, baby Boggs here.

[00:26:05] Uh, so to map that like Andy's gameplay 25 years ago, like we're kissing Borneo.

[00:26:15] So let's call it 24 years ago.

[00:26:17] I think Andy's early gameplay gets him voted out fast in OG survivor 25 years greater on

[00:26:26] the other side of his initial panic and he's getting to the merge and his art is starting

[00:26:32] to be appreciated.

[00:26:33] Interesting.

[00:26:34] So I feel like the Andy archetype, uh, is, uh, has, has improved with time.

[00:26:43] Let's talk about this school and they have not only a DJ, Usher is the DJ of the school.

[00:26:52] Yeah.

[00:26:54] Yeah.

[00:26:55] Yeah.

[00:26:55] Yeah.

[00:26:56] Yeah.

[00:26:56] And then Usher is still doing great.

[00:26:58] 25 years later, he's doing Superbowl halftime show.

[00:27:01] But why does your school need a DJ?

[00:27:03] Tell us the same thing.

[00:27:04] And Chappelle, I think that probably 90210 is not in your wheelhouse.

[00:27:09] Right?

[00:27:10] Yeah.

[00:27:10] But the Josh famously, uh, David Silver was like the DJ of the, so I don't know in the

[00:27:16] 90s schools had a DJ.

[00:27:18] In the 90s schools had DJs.

[00:27:20] So anyone who like, uh, grew up and went to high school in the nineties knows this,

[00:27:24] uh, that this was like, actually like, uh, like, uh, an unpaid but required role for high

[00:27:30] schools across the United States was you needed to have, uh, a DJ embedded in your, in your

[00:27:37] program.

[00:27:38] But like, it would be like pumped into the hallways of like, Hey students, what's going

[00:27:42] on?

[00:27:43] Good morning.

[00:27:45] And we got so much, uh, saved by the bell.

[00:27:48] They had, uh, KKTY.

[00:27:52] Yeah.

[00:27:52] Yeah.

[00:27:53] Yes.

[00:27:54] I was born to have that role in high school and I got there too late.

[00:27:58] I got to high school.

[00:28:01] You are the DJ of the high school podcast known as R.H.A.P.

[00:28:07] Thank you.

[00:28:08] You made it.

[00:28:09] You just got old.

[00:28:10] Josh.

[00:28:11] I tried to do the morning announcements at my school.

[00:28:13] I just signed up.

[00:28:14] Like, can I do the morning announcements?

[00:28:15] And they were like, he's not charismatic enough.

[00:28:17] I did the morning announcements.

[00:28:19] They wouldn't let me.

[00:28:20] They said I wasn't charismatic enough.

[00:28:21] They told me to go get some acting chops and come back.

[00:28:23] But four years later, it was too late.

[00:28:25] They didn't, they didn't want to sign me.

[00:28:26] Mm-hmm.

[00:28:28] Rob, you did the morning announcements?

[00:28:29] Yes.

[00:28:30] Yeah.

[00:28:30] You were, uh, you were the DJ at your school.

[00:28:33] I guess.

[00:28:33] That was as close as it came.

[00:28:35] Yeah.

[00:28:35] That's cool.

[00:28:35] That's a good deal.

[00:28:37] Okay.

[00:28:37] That's a good deal.

[00:28:38] All right.

[00:28:38] I was not DJ at my school.

[00:28:39] I wanted to be the DJ at my school.

[00:28:43] I didn't even know.

[00:28:44] Yeah.

[00:28:44] Look at this film was a shot in the same high school that Beverly Hills 90210 shot in as

[00:28:49] well.

[00:28:50] Yeah.

[00:28:51] Uh, as well as, uh, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, this stands in for Sunnydale, which is why

[00:28:55] Sarah Michelle Gellar, uh, makes an, uh, a, a dialogue free cameo in this film.

[00:29:01] Oh, can you miss it?

[00:29:03] Yeah.

[00:29:03] I blinked and I missed it.

[00:29:04] Yeah.

[00:29:05] Was she dating Freddie Prince Jr. already?

[00:29:07] No, you've seen this movie a million times and you didn't, you didn't know Sarah Michelle Gellar?

[00:29:09] I've seen not another teen movie a million times.

[00:29:11] I've seen this movie maybe one.

[00:29:12] Same difference.

[00:29:12] Same difference.

[00:29:12] Yeah.

[00:29:14] She sits at a, uh, she sits at a lunch table, uh, as like someone sits down next to her and

[00:29:18] she's just there.

[00:29:19] Mm-hmm.

[00:29:20] And she wasn't even dating Freddie Prince yet.

[00:29:22] They were like friends, but I think.

[00:29:24] Yeah.

[00:29:24] I think.

[00:29:25] Yeah.

[00:29:25] I was like, I don't know about it.

[00:29:26] It was starting.

[00:29:27] It was starting.

[00:29:28] Yeah.

[00:29:29] Stop it.

[00:29:29] Stop it.

[00:29:30] All right.

[00:29:30] I know what you did that summer.

[00:29:31] I still know what you did that summer.

[00:29:33] Stop it.

[00:29:33] He still knows.

[00:29:35] Yeah.

[00:29:35] Yeah.

[00:29:36] All right.

[00:29:36] So we have Zach, he is broken up with, he's like, but listen, like, uh, I'll, any girl

[00:29:44] I date is going to be popular.

[00:29:46] Okay.

[00:29:47] And so that's when Walker says not so fast, not so fast.

[00:29:52] Okay.

[00:29:53] So he's furious in fact.

[00:29:55] And he says, okay, you want to make this interesting?

[00:29:59] Let's make our bets people.

[00:30:01] Okay.

[00:30:01] What do we got here?

[00:30:02] And then, uh, yeah, the bet is Jake cannot take a random unattractive, um, person and make

[00:30:09] her into prom queen.

[00:30:11] And, uh, the most unattractive, uh, person who doesn't have her life together, of course

[00:30:15] is Lanny box.

[00:30:16] So does that mean that maybe, uh, Dean is Dean, Sam is Sam like the one who was like discounting

[00:30:23] Andy's, uh, greatness.

[00:30:25] Yeah.

[00:30:26] So, okay.

[00:30:27] All right.

[00:30:27] If we're going to map the survivor characters to this is, is Dean Sam, uh, then, Hmm.

[00:30:36] Well, or maybe, or maybe Dean is Sierra.

[00:30:39] Cause Sierra is the one who falls victim to, uh, to what Andy's, uh, ultimate plan is in

[00:30:44] this episode that we're talking about.

[00:30:46] Yeah.

[00:30:46] Yeah.

[00:30:47] So I guess like, who is the person who makes it because that this is where the analogy that

[00:30:54] Andy makes and the movie differ.

[00:30:57] And Andy, uh, sort of like, um, has this as a, uh, there, there is no bet in the, the

[00:31:03] baby Andy story that he tells, but he says, I showed up, I had glasses.

[00:31:08] I wanted to sit at the cool kids table, but now I took off my glasses.

[00:31:13] I let my hair down that there, there is no bet.

[00:31:16] I wonder is Genevieve the person who sort of sees Andy sitting there and then says, Hey,

[00:31:23] I could take this person and turn him and he gets, cause Genevieve kind of gets dumped

[00:31:26] by, she's more of the dumper when Rome leaves.

[00:31:29] And, uh, she's sort of like single of like, Hey, I need a new person to be my, you know,

[00:31:36] uh, ally.

[00:31:37] My number one is Genevieve really the Freddie.

[00:31:42] Princess junior.

[00:31:44] Yeah.

[00:31:45] I'm here for that.

[00:31:46] Yeah.

[00:31:46] It's fine.

[00:31:47] It's fine.

[00:31:48] Yeah.

[00:31:48] Um, but there's not really somebody, uh, betting again, like, no, you can't like,

[00:31:53] Saul's not like no way.

[00:31:55] Yeah.

[00:31:55] Like the way you're going to take him to the end.

[00:31:57] It's not on my watch.

[00:31:58] Mm hmm.

[00:31:59] It's hard to tell.

[00:32:00] All I know is that, uh, Rome was the real world guy.

[00:32:04] Rome was Matthew.

[00:32:05] Oh, Rome was close.

[00:32:07] Yeah.

[00:32:07] Yeah.

[00:32:08] That's that much.

[00:32:09] I got that much.

[00:32:10] I was able to put together.

[00:32:11] So I, so I think the Andy storyline is less about the bet, obviously, and more about the

[00:32:16] transformation.

[00:32:17] And I think that at that point you have to start looking at, okay, what does drive Andy

[00:32:21] to make his big transformation?

[00:32:22] Is it just time is like, or did he realize, Hey, they made a bet about me?

[00:32:27] You know, I think for Andy, I think he's looking at the, the, the outline of the cast and saying,

[00:32:32] man, they don't think I can do this.

[00:32:34] Now I have to let my, you know, I have to transform so that I can take this to the next

[00:32:38] level in this movie.

[00:32:39] Lainey doesn't think she can do it.

[00:32:41] They're the ones who are like, all right, get Anna Paquin on the phone.

[00:32:44] We got to make a makeover.

[00:32:45] Yeah.

[00:32:46] But is Genevieve like the most popular kid in school where that her, uh, association

[00:32:52] with Andy ends up making people change their opinion about him?

[00:32:57] I don't know.

[00:32:59] Is she pulling, is she pulling the strings here to me?

[00:33:01] The episode just made it seem like, you know, once Andy got the information that, you

[00:33:05] know, he was at the bottom of this Alliance, it was time to make his move.

[00:33:08] I feel like Andy has a lot more agency in this than Lainey box that.

[00:33:11] Hmm.

[00:33:11] Yeah.

[00:33:12] See, I kind of feel like, uh, uh, like somewhere in this Sam and Gabe are some form of, uh,

[00:33:22] Zach and Dean.

[00:33:23] And I don't know how to break it down any further than that.

[00:33:27] And maybe she's all that is not the correct movie analogy.

[00:33:31] And I feel like Kyle is like, uh, like who, like Kyle kind of has, uh, some semblance

[00:33:39] of Matthew Lillard energy.

[00:33:40] He's coming in here like tall, lanky white dude, just winning challenges.

[00:33:46] He's like suddenly shown up here at the merge is like this big deal.

[00:33:51] Hmm.

[00:33:51] Yeah.

[00:33:52] I wonder, I mean, I know we're talking about she's all that, but I wonder if there's

[00:33:56] a better movie analogy that Andy could have.

[00:33:58] That's what I'm better.

[00:33:59] What's a better transformation movie?

[00:34:01] Like the, like, uh, is he a Mrs.

[00:34:03] Doubtfire?

[00:34:04] No, no, no, no.

[00:34:06] Superman.

[00:34:08] Right.

[00:34:09] No.

[00:34:09] Who's the lady who becomes the glasses on?

[00:34:12] Yeah.

[00:34:12] Who's the lady who becomes the queen of Genobia?

[00:34:16] Uh, that, um, that's, um, what is her name?

[00:34:21] I think he's, I think that's the movie we're looking for.

[00:34:24] Um, what is, uh, princess, the princess diaries.

[00:34:28] Oh yeah.

[00:34:30] Right.

[00:34:30] Cause like, she's a nerdy girl.

[00:34:31] And then they tell her like, oh, you can be the queen of Genobia.

[00:34:35] And then she does her transformation.

[00:34:36] And then she's the new, she's the new it girl.

[00:34:38] I think they're even coming out with another princess.

[00:34:40] Well, that definitely tracks if Andy wins and becomes survivor royalty.

[00:34:44] Hmm.

[00:34:44] Right.

[00:34:44] But if he loses, it might be, she's all that because, uh, not to spoil it, but, uh, somebody

[00:34:49] does not become prom queen and it's definitely, uh, she's not, she's not going to get the crown at the end of this.

[00:34:54] Correct.

[00:34:55] Is it more?

[00:34:56] I think that that's the difference between whether this is princess diaries or she's all that.

[00:35:02] Is it a sandwich or is it soup?

[00:35:03] Who knows?

[00:35:03] Yes.

[00:35:04] Uh, Chappelle could be more of a Stefan or Cal situation.

[00:35:08] Yeah.

[00:35:08] That too.

[00:35:09] You know, uh, like, uh, the, that, you know, back then they didn't want me now I'm hot.

[00:35:13] They all on me, you know, it's like, uh, he changed it up and now he's like, he's, he's the most popular guy.

[00:35:18] Like he is now slipped into that, that, uh, that Vaughn role.

[00:35:22] Taylor Vaughn.

[00:35:23] Who's Laura Winslow in this scenario?

[00:35:25] Is it us?

[00:35:26] The audience?

[00:35:27] I think we're Laura Winslow.

[00:35:28] Are we Laura?

[00:35:29] Yeah.

[00:35:30] I would say that.

[00:35:31] Listen, I know R.J.P did not count baby Andy out at episode one, but I saw the tweets.

[00:35:35] I saw the post people were not high on baby Andy, but right now, baby Andy's got some runway.

[00:35:40] I would love to see baby Andy.

[00:35:42] Like let's let him cook.

[00:35:43] You know, I think we're in a good step.

[00:35:44] Let him Rachel Lee cook.

[00:35:46] Yeah.

[00:35:48] Okay.

[00:35:49] All right.

[00:35:49] So six weeks turn anybody into the prom queen.

[00:35:54] And so, uh, there's probably some, uh, you know, I don't know if this part 25 years

[00:35:59] later, uh, holds up so great where we go through the various women that could potentially be made

[00:36:05] into the prom queen.

[00:36:07] My feeling is any one of them could have been prom queen with the, with the right attitude.

[00:36:12] With the right attitude.

[00:36:12] I mean, that's the bet, right?

[00:36:13] With the right attitude, any of them that look, you sound just like our God Zach here.

[00:36:17] Here comes Lainey Boggs.

[00:36:18] Uh, and she falls.

[00:36:20] The ugliest human on earth.

[00:36:21] No, not her.

[00:36:22] Yeah.

[00:36:23] Oh my God.

[00:36:23] She has paint on her overalls.

[00:36:25] Who does that?

[00:36:26] Foul.

[00:36:26] Yeah.

[00:36:27] Foul individual.

[00:36:27] Not her, anybody, but her.

[00:36:29] Anyone else.

[00:36:30] Ew.

[00:36:30] They said that may be her, may be her, but scary and inaccessible.

[00:36:35] No way.

[00:36:36] No, thanks.

[00:36:37] Sorry.

[00:36:38] She doesn't have the star power.

[00:36:39] Like her last name is Boggs as in like where she comes from, you know?

[00:36:45] Yeah.

[00:36:45] Like she's just radiating witchy energy.

[00:36:48] We want nothing to do with that.

[00:36:50] Nothing to do with that.

[00:36:51] I have a better, I have a better, she's all that survivor story.

[00:36:54] Okay.

[00:36:54] You want to hear it?

[00:36:55] Yeah.

[00:36:55] Certainly.

[00:36:56] I'm thinking this is the story of Q and Banu last season.

[00:37:00] Cause Q says Banu is a real, he's a, he's a piece of work.

[00:37:04] No one's ever going to be able to work with Banu.

[00:37:06] I'm going to take him under my wing.

[00:37:08] He does that.

[00:37:09] He does that.

[00:37:10] It.

[00:37:10] He said, I got this.

[00:37:12] And he drags Banu.

[00:37:13] Jelinski is like a Matthew Lillard type.

[00:37:16] Hey, we should have did this last season.

[00:37:18] We can get my boy Jelinski back.

[00:37:19] But yeah, I think that's what it is.

[00:37:21] Q literally said, I need to go out and make this man a survivor player.

[00:37:24] I need to go and fix Banu so that we can run the game.

[00:37:26] He tries to drag him through the season.

[00:37:28] It does not work, you know, but it's a period.

[00:37:31] I'm just getting the image of Banu coming down the stairs with kiss me playing.

[00:37:37] Yeah.

[00:37:38] Expense none to Richard.

[00:37:41] Yes.

[00:37:43] Out on the bearded barley, Rob, you know, it's a very specific place to kiss somebody.

[00:37:49] Yeah.

[00:37:50] Have you ever been to a bearded barley?

[00:37:52] I bet you haven't.

[00:37:54] Swing, swing.

[00:37:56] Right.

[00:37:57] Rob's cracking up at the bearded barley.

[00:37:59] It's hard to get to.

[00:38:00] You wear those shoes and I will wear that dress.

[00:38:03] One million hearts, none the richer.

[00:38:05] Right.

[00:38:06] There you go.

[00:38:07] Okay.

[00:38:08] All right.

[00:38:09] So.

[00:38:09] I do think you could probably map she's all that onto every survivor season.

[00:38:13] And this might be a useful exercise at some point in time.

[00:38:15] Mm hmm.

[00:38:16] Yeah.

[00:38:17] Yeah.

[00:38:18] All right.

[00:38:18] So here we go.

[00:38:20] We're seeing Brock Hudson and we're seeing some clips of his stint on the real world.

[00:38:27] This was fun every time they do this device.

[00:38:30] Yeah.

[00:38:31] Cause it's like, remember Puck?

[00:38:33] Cause that's really what it is.

[00:38:34] Remember Puck?

[00:38:35] And yeah.

[00:38:36] No, we haven't forgotten Puck.

[00:38:37] Uh, you know, especially by 99, Puck was still a topical name in the, you know, celebrity

[00:38:42] sphere.

[00:38:42] You know, it wasn't like, now we're like, which one was that again?

[00:38:45] Was that a real character?

[00:38:46] But back then everybody knew this was Puck.

[00:38:47] Yeah.

[00:38:48] This movie is just like filled with like, uh, hallmarks of the 1990s of like, just like,

[00:38:52] like markers that identify this as a film that was made about and in the 1990s.

[00:38:58] And I think like the idea that there's like a huge important storyline involving a Puck

[00:39:04] type on actual real world is, uh, just like, this wouldn't be done now.

[00:39:10] Uh, no one would even know what we were talking about.

[00:39:13] People listening to this might not even know what we're talking about.

[00:39:16] Mm hmm.

[00:39:16] No.

[00:39:16] Why are they talking about hockey?

[00:39:18] Yeah.

[00:39:19] Yeah.

[00:39:19] Why are they talking about the iconic character who gives the closing monologue and Midsummer

[00:39:23] Night's dream?

[00:39:25] Why are they talking about that other character from Toy Story?

[00:39:28] The toy that nobody talks about.

[00:39:29] What are you looking at your hockey puck?

[00:39:31] Ah, that's sad.

[00:39:34] So meanwhile, uh, it's senior year or I guess maybe it's a junior year.

[00:39:40] I'm not sure what point you commit to your college here for Freddie.

[00:39:43] It's gotta be senior year.

[00:39:44] It's gotta be senior year.

[00:39:45] Well, cause his dad is going to fit.

[00:39:47] We're kinda close if it's the prom then.

[00:39:48] Well, that's, that's his dad's whole storyline.

[00:39:49] It's like, so Dartmouth.

[00:39:52] And he's like, I mean, I haven't really decided.

[00:39:55] I mean, he's hiding his acceptance letters.

[00:39:57] Tim Matheson plays dad.

[00:39:59] He's like, yeah.

[00:40:00] Yeah.

[00:40:01] Really pushing the Dartmouth.

[00:40:03] Yeah.

[00:40:04] But he's like, I don't want your life, you know?

[00:40:06] Mm-hmm.

[00:40:07] Yeah.

[00:40:08] Mm-hmm.

[00:40:09] Gotta be Dartmouth.

[00:40:10] I feel like I don't hear a lot about Dartmouth.

[00:40:13] There's a, there's another movie or a show or something like that that was centered around Dartmouth.

[00:40:17] And I can't remember which school or I mean, which movie it was.

[00:40:20] I have to think about it.

[00:40:21] Mm-hmm.

[00:40:21] Yeah.

[00:40:22] Yeah.

[00:40:22] Okay.

[00:40:23] Where's Dartmouth?

[00:40:25] Shh.

[00:40:26] Beats me.

[00:40:27] Who's Dartmouth?

[00:40:28] Who's Dartmouth?

[00:40:31] Yeah.

[00:40:32] Okay.

[00:40:32] It's in New, New Hampshire in Hanover.

[00:40:35] New Hampshire.

[00:40:35] New Hampshire.

[00:40:35] Mm-hmm.

[00:40:36] Dad loves Dartmouth.

[00:40:37] What really wants Zach to go to Dartmouth.

[00:40:40] Meanwhile, Lainey, she's just trying to make ends meet at the falafel store.

[00:40:48] Mm.

[00:40:48] Oh man, I could go for a falafel right now.

[00:40:51] Mm-hmm.

[00:40:52] Yeah.

[00:40:54] She's asking a gentleman in the store about would he like to get his falafel combo supersized.

[00:41:01] And he says, supersize my balls.

[00:41:04] Yeah.

[00:41:05] I want my balls supersized.

[00:41:07] Yeah.

[00:41:07] He does say that.

[00:41:08] Yeah.

[00:41:08] This is where Zach comes in to try to ask her out.

[00:41:13] He wants to talk about her art.

[00:41:15] You know, what can he do to try to get her interest?

[00:41:18] So they end up going to the Jester Theater to go watch a performance art piece.

[00:41:25] Alexander Jester.

[00:41:27] Mm-hmm.

[00:41:27] Yeah.

[00:41:29] Josh, you ever go to any performance art?

[00:41:32] Yeah.

[00:41:33] I've gone to a couple things like this.

[00:41:35] Yeah.

[00:41:35] How was it?

[00:41:37] Not my favorite thing.

[00:41:38] Yeah.

[00:41:39] This is white shenanigans.

[00:41:41] Yeah.

[00:41:41] I've never seen anything like this.

[00:41:42] This is not my extraordinarily white.

[00:41:45] Mm-hmm.

[00:41:46] Yeah.

[00:41:47] It's pale.

[00:41:50] I was sitting there like, oh.

[00:41:52] It's snow white.

[00:41:54] It's like depth thing.

[00:41:55] Yeah.

[00:41:56] Yeah.

[00:41:56] It's white.

[00:41:57] Yep.

[00:41:58] Performance art happens.

[00:42:00] They end up pushing Zach to go up on the stage.

[00:42:03] He ends up-

[00:42:04] Hacky sack.

[00:42:04] Hacky sack.

[00:42:05] Never let it drop.

[00:42:05] Can't drop.

[00:42:06] Yeah.

[00:42:07] Yeah.

[00:42:08] So white.

[00:42:09] I don't ever think I've seen a person of color do a hacky sack in these Americas.

[00:42:14] Maybe, you know, maybe worldwide, but in these Americas, no.

[00:42:18] No.

[00:42:18] Yeah.

[00:42:19] Hacky sack or pogs?

[00:42:21] You can only choose one.

[00:42:23] Pogs.

[00:42:23] Yeah.

[00:42:24] Good answer.

[00:42:24] Yeah.

[00:42:25] Yeah.

[00:42:25] That's not even a stop it.

[00:42:26] Hacky sack, please.

[00:42:27] I think pog has a chance of a comeback.

[00:42:29] I don't think hacky sack has much of a chance of a comeback.

[00:42:31] No.

[00:42:32] Yeah.

[00:42:32] No.

[00:42:32] Now this was only-

[00:42:33] It's definitely not in like a coming America.

[00:42:35] Like I don't think anyone is hacky sacking, but I do think maybe we're doing pogs.

[00:42:39] It was only two years until Ethan Zahn was going to bring the hacky sack to national

[00:42:45] attention on Survivor Africa.

[00:42:48] Which was the last time it was cool.

[00:42:50] And he-

[00:42:50] Literally the only person who ever made it cool.

[00:42:52] Oh, actually no.

[00:42:53] So he brings a soccer ball, but he does hacky sack in the Kenyan village, right?

[00:43:00] Hacky sack is his luxury item, I believe.

[00:43:03] And he plays soccer in the village as well.

[00:43:06] Ah, yeah.

[00:43:06] But I had it backwards.

[00:43:07] Soccer worldwide, hacky sack, specifically Ethan.

[00:43:09] Yeah.

[00:43:10] Yeah.

[00:43:10] Makes sense.

[00:43:11] Okay.

[00:43:11] Anyway, so that he ends up saying to Lainey Boggs, like, hey, do you ever take off your

[00:43:18] glasses?

[00:43:19] You have very nice eyes.

[00:43:20] She's like, oh, that's rich.

[00:43:22] That's rich.

[00:43:23] Okay.

[00:43:24] She's not wrong.

[00:43:25] She's not wrong.

[00:43:27] That's the expense on the richer.

[00:43:28] Yeah.

[00:43:29] Yeah.

[00:43:30] She's not wrong.

[00:43:31] This man has never spoken to her.

[00:43:32] And now all of a sudden he's like, you want to go on a date?

[00:43:34] You got beautiful eyes.

[00:43:35] Like, get away from me.

[00:43:36] We know each other.

[00:43:37] We've been in high school for four years.

[00:43:39] What are you talking about?

[00:43:39] Why are you all of a sudden interested in me?

[00:43:41] She's rightfully suspicious of him, but she actually doesn't move on it.

[00:43:45] She just keeps saying like, no, no, stop it.

[00:43:47] This can't be true.

[00:43:48] She's like, this is, what did she say?

[00:43:50] This is surrealism.

[00:43:51] Yeah.

[00:43:51] Yeah.

[00:43:52] Yeah.

[00:43:53] They had a name for it.

[00:43:54] Surreal life, which then Jerry Manthe went to go beyond.

[00:43:58] This is actually up and down.

[00:44:00] Yeah.

[00:44:00] All right.

[00:44:01] So she's like, I'm out.

[00:44:02] That's it.

[00:44:03] He shows up at the house and meets the brother, meets the dad, impresses them.

[00:44:08] He says he'll stay and play Sega all day if she doesn't go to the beach.

[00:44:13] She finally gives in.

[00:44:14] And now she too is on the beach, much like our survivors.

[00:44:18] Mm hmm.

[00:44:20] Yeah.

[00:44:20] And she takes to it like, uh, like, uh, uh, a duck to a buff.

[00:44:26] I don't know.

[00:44:27] I didn't have anything prepped.

[00:44:29] Uh, she plays volleyball.

[00:44:31] Well, no, she doesn't.

[00:44:33] She plays volleyball poorly.

[00:44:34] So she's baby Andy in right now.

[00:44:36] Yeah.

[00:44:37] Yes.

[00:44:37] It's the beach and it doesn't go great.

[00:44:39] Doesn't she not great at the challenges, but she like, uh, I do.

[00:44:44] Do you think like she ends up being kind of liked by some of these people on the beach?

[00:44:49] I think like other than, uh, Jody Lin.

[00:44:52] Good social game.

[00:44:53] Yeah.

[00:44:53] Who is playing, uh, the, uh, uh, the Taylor Vaughn character.

[00:44:57] Is John Lovett here?

[00:44:59] No, John Lovett has.

[00:45:00] John Lovett's might be in this movie somewhere.

[00:45:04] Yeah.

[00:45:05] Uh, behind a curtain, reaping all.

[00:45:07] So the key to this moment is that this is one of the times that they see Lainey not in her drabby paint covered clothes.

[00:45:14] Right.

[00:45:14] And so when they see her in her bathing suit, they're like, wait, there's, there's some star potential in there.

[00:45:20] We got to, you want to play volleyball with us?

[00:45:22] What is this?

[00:45:22] You know?

[00:45:23] So it's like, he noticed her eyes.

[00:45:25] She's like, get out of here.

[00:45:25] They notice her body.

[00:45:26] They're like, get out of here.

[00:45:27] You know, you can't be.

[00:45:28] So it's like, they're slowly starting to come around to what, you know, we've all been seeing is that, you know, she's all that, you know, without, with or without their blessing.

[00:45:36] Right.

[00:45:36] Yeah.

[00:45:36] But they're starting to see it.

[00:45:37] All right.

[00:45:38] And Julie Hill is the king in this movie, by the way, because he's like constantly the one who's like, let's include you.

[00:45:43] Come on.

[00:45:43] This like whole thing is kind of terrible.

[00:45:45] Like, just come on and play volleyball.

[00:45:46] And then like later on, he's be like, I'm not taking that bet with you, Dean.

[00:45:50] Right.

[00:45:50] You know, like, Julie Hill's a great guy in this movie.

[00:45:53] Mm hmm.

[00:45:54] Yeah.

[00:45:54] And we know who he voted for.

[00:45:55] Yeah.

[00:45:56] Yeah.

[00:45:57] He voted.

[00:45:57] He voted Rachel Lee Cook.

[00:45:59] He voted.

[00:45:59] He voted Rachel Lee Cook.

[00:46:00] Yeah.

[00:46:01] All right.

[00:46:03] So we get to an invitation to the party that's going on.

[00:46:08] But, you know, she can't go like that.

[00:46:10] So take some convincing from Zach to get her to come to the Survivor Social Hour going on later on that night.

[00:46:19] And while she's like, I can't I have to clean my house.

[00:46:23] Guess what?

[00:46:24] Soccer team is going to clean the house.

[00:46:26] This is hazing.

[00:46:27] We're going to have some JV soccer cleaners going on.

[00:46:31] I bet the JV soccer team does a horrible job cleaning the house.

[00:46:36] Yeah.

[00:46:36] But it's not like her dad was doing any better.

[00:46:38] Yeah.

[00:46:38] He doesn't do any better.

[00:46:39] He's doing nothing.

[00:46:40] Yeah.

[00:46:40] And he's obsessed with watching Jeopardy!

[00:46:44] The show that Survivor 45's Drew Basile came on and dominated.

[00:46:49] Look at that.

[00:46:50] More survivor tissue here.

[00:46:52] Survivor's all that.

[00:46:54] Yeah.

[00:46:54] And guess what?

[00:46:55] And Kieran Culkin is also eating the peanut butter disgustingly, much like our survivors did.

[00:47:03] Yeah.

[00:47:04] He puts his fingers in peanut butter.

[00:47:06] He puts his fingers in jelly.

[00:47:07] Then he gets a whole, like a big wad of queso.

[00:47:11] Right?

[00:47:12] Yeah.

[00:47:12] Pretty gross.

[00:47:13] He's just doing like, he's just eating hand dips and sauces and butters.

[00:47:19] Mm-hmm.

[00:47:19] Yeah.

[00:47:20] And maybe this kid deserves to be bullied.

[00:47:23] Am I allowed to say that?

[00:47:24] I'm not going to step up for it.

[00:47:25] I'm not going to step in.

[00:47:26] You know?

[00:47:27] I don't want him to eat his pumes.

[00:47:28] We know who he becomes.

[00:47:29] Right.

[00:47:30] We do.

[00:47:31] He's always been into fluids.

[00:47:32] Yeah.

[00:47:35] Yeah.

[00:47:35] Kieran Culkin was into fluids from a very young age.

[00:47:38] Mm-hmm.

[00:47:39] I've seen way too much of Kieran Culkin and now this is getting way worse.

[00:47:43] It's a lot.

[00:47:43] You know?

[00:47:43] Yeah.

[00:47:44] It's a lot.

[00:47:44] Yeah.

[00:47:45] All right.

[00:47:45] Yeah.

[00:47:46] All right.

[00:47:47] He like shows up.

[00:47:48] Yes.

[00:47:49] Like doesn't he like shake Freddie Prince Jr's hand with his queso hand here?

[00:47:54] Oh, the queso head.

[00:47:55] Ew.

[00:47:55] I didn't even notice that.

[00:47:57] I got to watch like my buddy.

[00:47:58] Mm-hmm.

[00:48:00] All right.

[00:48:00] Yeah.

[00:48:00] Anna Paquin is Zach's sister.

[00:48:02] She's here.

[00:48:03] She's going to be giving a makeover to Lainey Boggs.

[00:48:09] Uh, she's going to take her upstairs.

[00:48:10] She's got a dress for her to put on.

[00:48:12] She's going to tweeze her eyebrows.

[00:48:15] Have you ever plucked your eyebrows before?

[00:48:18] No, no, no, but I probably should.

[00:48:20] Mm-hmm.

[00:48:21] I'm not a hairy individual.

[00:48:23] You can't see it, but there is like just like a little blonde.

[00:48:26] A little, a little stretch.

[00:48:28] Yeah.

[00:48:29] Okay.

[00:48:29] My wife would like to she's all that me.

[00:48:31] I think.

[00:48:32] Yeah.

[00:48:32] I think she would like, I think, I think she would like to Anna Paquin me.

[00:48:36] I do think.

[00:48:38] Uh,

[00:48:39] It's okay.

[00:48:40] Yes.

[00:48:41] Yeah.

[00:48:42] Yeah.

[00:48:43] Um,

[00:48:44] Jessica, I command you.

[00:48:47] I'm ready for the true blood recap whenever you want.

[00:48:50] At any time.

[00:48:51] Josh, don't play with me.

[00:48:52] Oh, I'm here.

[00:48:53] I'm here for it.

[00:48:54] Don't play with me.

[00:48:55] Oh, but this is the big difference.

[00:48:57] This is the moment Andy's talking about in the episode, right?

[00:49:00] Is that he had to take down his hair.

[00:49:02] He had to take off his glasses that made him and he does this slow motion interest.

[00:49:06] That's exactly what we're getting here.

[00:49:08] The big difference is that somebody does this for Andy or for Rachel Lee Cook's character,

[00:49:13] um, you know, in the movie, whereas Andy is taking it upon himself to do his own slow motion interest.

[00:49:19] He hit play on the record for, uh, six months, none the richer.

[00:49:22] Yes.

[00:49:23] Yes.

[00:49:23] He had that locked and ready to go.

[00:49:25] That being said, if we are also trying to chart this dual track of Rachel as Rachel Lee Cook, then does that make Saul Anna Paquin?

[00:49:38] Oh!

[00:49:39] That he gave her...

[00:49:41] Okay.

[00:49:42] Okay.

[00:49:42] He gave her the power.

[00:49:45] Yeah.

[00:49:45] Yeah.

[00:49:46] And he said, I'd be damned if y'all voted her out now because I've done too much work.

[00:49:49] I've done...

[00:49:50] This makeover took so much time.

[00:49:51] I tweezed, I took her hair down, and I took off her glasses.

[00:49:54] Bro, give me more.

[00:49:56] I need more.

[00:49:57] Now think of Saul as Sookie Stackhouse and do with that what you will.

[00:50:02] Wow.

[00:50:03] Okay.

[00:50:04] Oh, Saul, stand up.

[00:50:05] Yeah.

[00:50:05] I don't know.

[00:50:06] I old took you that one.

[00:50:07] So Andy considers himself to be an honorary member of the Lavo tribe, which also wears red.

[00:50:16] Mm-hmm.

[00:50:16] Yeah.

[00:50:17] For the dress.

[00:50:17] Mm-hmm.

[00:50:17] Yeah.

[00:50:18] Yeah.

[00:50:18] Yeah.

[00:50:18] Some people used to wear like the buffs like this.

[00:50:25] I don't think they make them like this anymore.

[00:50:27] Yeah.

[00:50:27] And Lenny Boggs trips coming down the stairs, Rob.

[00:50:30] This is very Andy.

[00:50:31] Yes.

[00:50:33] Does she trip on the stairs or when she finally gets down the stairs?

[00:50:38] Like in none of the T-movie, she like bites it on the stairs and falls through the floor.

[00:50:44] Well, the house is trashed in none of the T-movie because their dad sucks.

[00:50:47] And so then she falls all the way through the ground and then things fall on her.

[00:50:51] This time she makes it all the way to the bottom.

[00:50:53] She completes the entrance, but then there's like a record scratch.

[00:50:56] Like a little tumble.

[00:50:57] A little bit.

[00:50:58] Yeah.

[00:50:58] A little bit.

[00:50:58] Very Brandon Dolan-esque.

[00:51:00] Yeah.

[00:51:01] Amazing moment in the film.

[00:51:03] The iconic scene in the movie when she comes down the stairs for Kiss Me.

[00:51:08] Did we ever get any Kiss Me wand offs over the years?

[00:51:11] Maybe.

[00:51:13] Maybe we will eventually.

[00:51:15] It would have been great for Kenzie last season.

[00:51:18] Kenzie!

[00:51:19] Kenzie!

[00:51:20] Yeah.

[00:51:22] Bring it back.

[00:51:23] Stan Juan DelSor.

[00:51:25] Missy!

[00:51:26] Muffet.

[00:51:27] Get around second chances too.

[00:51:28] We could do it again.

[00:51:30] Yeah.

[00:51:30] Survivor 50.

[00:51:31] All right.

[00:51:32] Let's talk about...

[00:51:33] Missy for Survivor 50, please.

[00:51:36] Yeah.

[00:51:37] All right.

[00:51:38] The big party is going on.

[00:51:40] There's a lot of shenanigans here at the big high school rager, Chappelle.

[00:51:47] There was the girl who was from the art class that said that Lainey Boggs should kill herself

[00:51:53] so her art is more valuable.

[00:51:55] She is puking.

[00:51:57] She is praying to the porcelain gods, as they say.

[00:52:01] And then...

[00:52:02] So that's Clea Duvall is the name of this actress.

[00:52:05] Yeah.

[00:52:05] She's been in a ton of stuff.

[00:52:08] She's been in everything.

[00:52:09] She has a great small role on Better Call Saul.

[00:52:11] Just like a ton of stuff.

[00:52:12] Heroes, like a million things.

[00:52:13] In this movie, her character's name is...

[00:52:15] Wait for it.

[00:52:17] Missy!

[00:52:18] Yes!

[00:52:20] It's right there.

[00:52:22] Yeah.

[00:52:22] It's all here.

[00:52:23] She's right there.

[00:52:24] She says, like, must suck for you.

[00:52:27] Right?

[00:52:27] What does she say?

[00:52:28] How does it feel?

[00:52:29] It's just like, oh, like, what is she going to reveal something like that?

[00:52:32] That I'm rich and you're cleaning up my puke.

[00:52:35] I'm a rich girl like me with a scholarship and you're cleaning up my puke.

[00:52:41] And oddly, this is Rachel Lee Cook's Joker moment as she turns Misty into the Joker.

[00:52:49] Yes.

[00:52:50] Now, this would be after Andy's transformation.

[00:52:52] Is this what we're going to be seeing next episode?

[00:52:55] It's like, he's transformed, but somebody's trying to humble him.

[00:52:58] You know, whether it's Misty or, you know, our...

[00:53:02] How does it feel, Andy?

[00:53:04] Right.

[00:53:05] Or is someone going to spill a drink on Andy's red dress?

[00:53:09] I think we saw this.

[00:53:11] I think this is what he did to Sierra.

[00:53:14] No, this is what he did to Annika.

[00:53:16] Hmm.

[00:53:18] Okay.

[00:53:19] So it's just Andy.

[00:53:20] It's not a chronological order, but it's still the Andi-ness.

[00:53:23] This is when Annika thought she was like headed to the merge.

[00:53:26] And she's like, how does it feel, Andy?

[00:53:30] I'm a rich girl.

[00:53:31] I'm a rich girl about to make the merge.

[00:53:34] Yeah.

[00:53:35] And he's like, see this?

[00:53:36] This is your headstone.

[00:53:38] Wow.

[00:53:39] And it's got a Joker face on it.

[00:53:42] Yeah.

[00:53:42] Who's going to spill a drink on Andy's dress, on his red buff?

[00:53:46] Hmm.

[00:53:47] Sam.

[00:53:47] Oopsie.

[00:53:48] That's going to stain.

[00:53:49] Like who's going to do that?

[00:53:51] Yeah.

[00:53:52] You're not going to cry, are you?

[00:53:55] Right.

[00:53:55] And Andy's like, never let them see you cry, Andy.

[00:53:58] Never let them see you cry.

[00:53:59] Yeah.

[00:54:00] This is fun.

[00:54:01] It's done so much more fun in another teen movie.

[00:54:04] Josh, do you have any?

[00:54:07] It's been a long time since I've seen it.

[00:54:08] Of course I've seen it.

[00:54:08] So in this movie, okay, she's wearing, they don't really say that she's wearing a very similar dress to Taylor.

[00:54:15] Or in the same dress.

[00:54:16] Yeah.

[00:54:16] So it's, it's more implied than it's mentioned in dialogue here.

[00:54:20] And she ends up like spilling a drink.

[00:54:23] I'm like, oops, be careful with silk.

[00:54:26] In not another teen movie, Laney Boggs, I think is drunk, ends up jumping into the-

[00:54:31] Allow me Rob.

[00:54:32] Yes.

[00:54:33] She's drunk on a non-alcoholic beer.

[00:54:35] Yes.

[00:54:36] She jumps off of the balcony into the pool, gets out soaking wet.

[00:54:39] And then Priscilla, the hot girl walks up to her and spills a bottle of water on her already water-drenched clothes and says, oopsie, that's going to stain.

[00:54:48] And then she says, what are you going to cry now?

[00:54:51] And then, uh, Janie Briggs runs one way and then has to run the opposite way right before a slow clap starts that Melissa Joan Hart then stops.

[00:54:59] Wow.

[00:55:00] Fantastic.

[00:55:01] I've seen the movie a billion times.

[00:55:02] Let's Chappelle Rachel Leigh cook.

[00:55:03] Okay.

[00:55:04] Let me cook.

[00:55:05] Let me coke.

[00:55:05] All right.

[00:55:08] Laney Boggs is going to go home.

[00:55:10] Uh, meanwhile, but the next day at school somehow gets nominated for a prom queen.

[00:55:14] Who did this?

[00:55:15] Who was the one who did it?

[00:55:16] I think this is, this is the star turn, right?

[00:55:18] Like we saw her kind of get bullied, but we also saw her have the big moment with the Joker face lady.

[00:55:24] And so people were like, wait a minute.

[00:55:26] She took off those glasses.

[00:55:28] Yeah.

[00:55:28] We're not wearing the paint no more.

[00:55:29] Yeah.

[00:55:30] Maybe I'll have something here.

[00:55:31] She's being talked about.

[00:55:33] Right?

[00:55:33] Like, I think like you leave that party and like, I think that there are a lot of people who are probably like, wow, did she just get a fishy?

[00:55:40] Yeah.

[00:55:41] Laney more like lamey.

[00:55:43] And then there are other people who are like mother, like lady bugs.

[00:55:48] So like, you've got like at least half of that party, like on it.

[00:55:52] Like we're filling her in.

[00:55:54] She's going to represent us.

[00:55:56] She is our champion.

[00:55:57] Okay.

[00:55:58] But, but, but are we the, are we the people who are nominating, uh, Laney?

[00:56:02] Right?

[00:56:02] Because now, you know, we've watched this episode of survivor.

[00:56:06] We saw Andy's big move.

[00:56:07] We seen Andy make a couple of big moves in this game so far.

[00:56:10] Are we now thinking, does he have any win equity?

[00:56:13] Are we looking at Andy as a jury?

[00:56:15] Absolutely.

[00:56:16] Yeah.

[00:56:16] You can put Andy in the prom court.

[00:56:18] I don't know that he's going to be prom king.

[00:56:20] Uh, but I think you can put him in the prom court.

[00:56:23] Yeah.

[00:56:23] Let's see what happens.

[00:56:24] It's just survivor.

[00:56:26] Rob got us right now.

[00:56:27] And I don't like it.

[00:56:27] I need baby Andy to pack this one up.

[00:56:29] Go ahead and take it all the way.

[00:56:32] A survivor 47 prom court right now.

[00:56:35] I mean, yes.

[00:56:36] Hmm.

[00:56:36] I think it's like, it's not, it's not that hard.

[00:56:38] I think right now, I feel like, uh, like, I feel like Rachel's in prom court.

[00:56:43] I think, I think Genevieve is in prom court right now.

[00:56:46] I think baby Andy is in prom court.

[00:56:48] I think Saul is in prom court.

[00:56:51] You don't think Sam's going to make the prom court.

[00:56:53] He looks like a prom court guy.

[00:56:55] There's no way he wasn't nominated for prom.

[00:56:57] He's kind of underdoggy.

[00:56:58] So I think like, he's got like, he's got some prom court.

[00:57:02] Uh, like he could be like sort of like in the prom court and seems like he would be like a normal front runner, but he's been a little humbled.

[00:57:08] Mm hmm.

[00:57:09] Yeah.

[00:57:10] Yeah.

[00:57:10] He's Dean.

[00:57:12] Yeah.

[00:57:14] And not the one from Rugrats, Josh.

[00:57:16] Yeah.

[00:57:16] No, no.

[00:57:17] Okay.

[00:57:19] All right.

[00:57:20] So Taylor, uh, she's got the whole women's Alliance.

[00:57:24] They all get their beepers beeping.

[00:57:27] Guess what?

[00:57:28] Brock Hudson broke up with her.

[00:57:30] He left to go for all-star road rules.

[00:57:33] Yeah.

[00:57:34] He wanted to do the challenge.

[00:57:35] Oh, road rules.

[00:57:37] All-star road rules.

[00:57:38] Road rules was happening in 99.

[00:57:39] Yeah.

[00:57:39] Yeah.

[00:57:40] Yeah.

[00:57:41] I liked road rules.

[00:57:43] We don't do that anymore.

[00:57:44] No, no, no more road rules.

[00:57:46] It's been gone for a while.

[00:57:47] It could get rebooted.

[00:57:48] I would be down.

[00:57:49] I would be, I would be here for a road rules reboot.

[00:57:52] Yeah.

[00:57:52] RVs.

[00:57:53] Yeah.

[00:57:54] We could, we could bring them back if they're not.

[00:57:56] That's still a thing.

[00:57:57] Yeah.

[00:57:58] I didn't know that was still road rules in an ERV.

[00:58:00] So it's environmentally friendly.

[00:58:04] Yeah.

[00:58:05] Not as exciting.

[00:58:06] I think not as fun.

[00:58:08] Yeah.

[00:58:09] So sorry.

[00:58:10] I mean, someone's still got a champion.

[00:58:12] This stuff.

[00:58:12] Okay.

[00:58:15] We get our big soccer game and, uh, the guys are going to play some soccer

[00:58:20] and then get to the locker room.

[00:58:22] And there's a little bit of, uh, you know, locker room talk.

[00:58:27] Uh, Paul Walker is like, Hey, Laney box.

[00:58:29] Walker room talk.

[00:58:30] He's looking good.

[00:58:32] Yeah.

[00:58:33] Yeah.

[00:58:33] Um, uh, Paul Walker snaps.

[00:58:36] I feel like, uh, this feels like, uh, yeah.

[00:58:45] Yeah.

[00:58:46] Paul Walker is here.

[00:58:48] This is a real millennial joint by the way.

[00:58:51] Yeah.

[00:58:52] Yeah.

[00:58:52] Yeah.

[00:58:52] Uh, Paul Walker versus Paul Wachter.

[00:58:55] Uh, yeah.

[00:58:58] I think Paul Wachter won.

[00:58:58] Uh, but Paul Walker is here being like, always hated you.

[00:59:03] Freddie Prince Jr.

[00:59:04] You always got the cool stuff.

[00:59:06] Everyone always liked you.

[00:59:08] Well, I'm going to show the world what kind of an a-hole you are.

[00:59:10] And like, I'm just watching this being like, what are you?

[00:59:13] My man.

[00:59:15] Mm hmm.

[00:59:16] It's you.

[00:59:17] You're the a-hole.

[00:59:19] Dean.

[00:59:20] Mm hmm.

[00:59:22] Not a Dean guy.

[00:59:23] All right.

[00:59:24] Well, respect to the late great.

[00:59:26] Okay.

[00:59:27] He's just, he's acting.

[00:59:29] He's acting.

[00:59:29] Yeah.

[00:59:30] It's not way better acting than what's going on in the fast and furious seas.

[00:59:35] I will never forgive him.

[00:59:37] Yeah.

[00:59:38] All right.

[00:59:38] So meanwhile, all right.

[00:59:40] Too fast, too furious is a hard watch.

[00:59:42] Zach.

[00:59:43] Awful.

[00:59:44] Yeah.

[00:59:45] Zach is going to go back to, uh, Laney and visit her in her basement in the art studio.

[00:59:52] Uh, and, uh, she's, he's trying to talk to her about, uh, what's going on.

[00:59:59] And she's, she instead starts reading him for filth.

[01:00:03] Yeah.

[01:00:05] Um, but she's got a lot going on, right?

[01:00:07] Like she, this is where he finds out about like her mom having cancer and you know, she's,

[01:00:11] she's got to work for things.

[01:00:12] He's like, I got to work for stuff too.

[01:00:13] You don't know how hard it is being me.

[01:00:15] My dad wants me to go to Dartmouth.

[01:00:16] She's like, okay.

[01:00:17] He's like, and he's always wanted me to go to Dartmouth.

[01:00:20] And matter of fact, everybody knows I'm going to Dartmouth.

[01:00:22] Everybody.

[01:00:22] Like it's a rich, expensive school that everybody can't get into.

[01:00:25] And I have to get into these, you know, the pressure of that.

[01:00:27] She's like, this is how I knew that we were doing.

[01:00:31] It was destiny that we were supposed to be here talking about this movie because that

[01:00:37] we see where Lainey Boggs says, Oh, you want me to feel bad for you?

[01:00:43] Oh, you could do anything.

[01:00:45] You could go to Dartmouth.

[01:00:46] You could go to Harvard.

[01:00:47] You could, you could go to Borneo.

[01:00:49] Do you realize how lucky you are?

[01:00:51] You can go to Dartmouth.

[01:00:53] You can go to NYU.

[01:00:54] You can go to Borneo and study squid fishing.

[01:00:56] The point is you're 18 and that's old enough to start making your own choices.

[01:01:01] Maybe.

[01:01:02] Is he about to go to Borneo in this alternate universe,

[01:01:06] in this alternate timeline?

[01:01:08] Yeah.

[01:01:09] Lift up the shirt.

[01:01:10] Show us the nipple ring.

[01:01:11] Cause this is Dr. Sean Kniff.

[01:01:13] Is he about to take, uh, yeah.

[01:01:16] Dr. Sean.

[01:01:17] Let me see that super pole.

[01:01:19] Is he going to take Dirk's spot?

[01:01:21] No, it's doctor.

[01:01:22] This is Dr. Sean.

[01:01:23] This is Dr. Sean.

[01:01:24] The super pole on Maine.

[01:01:26] Yeah.

[01:01:26] I go to Borneo and go squid fishing.

[01:01:29] Yeah.

[01:01:29] This is the first time Borneo was said on national television.

[01:01:32] Is this an origin story?

[01:01:33] He's also, we discover is a nudist at the end of this movie.

[01:01:37] That's what I'm saying.

[01:01:37] Super pole on Maine.

[01:01:39] He lost the bet.

[01:01:40] He lost the bet.

[01:01:41] He lost the bet.

[01:01:42] Yeah.

[01:01:43] Borneo is a crazy name, like a crazy drop for us to be talking about this on the podcast.

[01:01:47] Like that is wild.

[01:01:48] In 1999, they had the spoilers.

[01:01:50] Yeah.

[01:01:51] Okay.

[01:01:52] Like 25 years greater.

[01:01:53] All right.

[01:01:54] So he ends up leaving her.

[01:01:56] She wants to be kissed and he ends up walking away.

[01:01:58] She doesn't even say kiss me at that moment.

[01:02:03] Yeah.

[01:02:04] Yeah.

[01:02:04] She's pretty close to being kissed for sure.

[01:02:06] She's ready to be kissed.

[01:02:07] Rob just took his glasses off and squinted it at the camera.

[01:02:10] But he runs away.

[01:02:11] Is this just that he's like, oh, I gotta like make this.

[01:02:14] I can't kiss her under false pretenses.

[01:02:17] I need to make this right.

[01:02:18] He's starting to feel bad, which I don't feel like baby Andy's gonna do.

[01:02:24] I don't think baby Andy's gonna feel all that bad about any of this stuff.

[01:02:29] But a baby Andy is not the Freddie Prince Jr. character.

[01:02:32] Oh, right.

[01:02:32] So who's he waiting to be kissed by?

[01:02:35] Is he having a kiss on the other side of all this?

[01:02:38] Hmm.

[01:02:38] Yeah.

[01:02:39] I think he's transformed.

[01:02:40] I think he's gone from the Rachel Lee Cook character to now he is the Freddie Prince Jr.

[01:02:46] character.

[01:02:46] Like he's now the hot guy.

[01:02:47] They just don't know it yet.

[01:02:48] They haven't seen his glasses and stuff are off.

[01:02:50] They don't know.

[01:02:51] This is the risk.

[01:02:52] This is the risk.

[01:02:54] You, uh, you either die a hair up glasses on Rachel Lee Cook or you live long enough

[01:03:01] to see yourself become, I guess, Freddie Prince Jr.

[01:03:04] Like you don't get to just stay at the Rachel Lee Cook.

[01:03:08] Mm hmm.

[01:03:08] Right.

[01:03:09] Right.

[01:03:10] Cause cause when people vote for the Rachel Lee Cook with the glasses on.

[01:03:13] Right.

[01:03:13] Like, is that enough?

[01:03:14] They vote close.

[01:03:16] Yeah.

[01:03:17] The closest race of all time.

[01:03:18] What I've seen.

[01:03:19] They said it was close.

[01:03:20] Yeah.

[01:03:21] They did say.

[01:03:23] Yeah.

[01:03:24] All right.

[01:03:24] Well, we'll get there.

[01:03:25] We'll get there.

[01:03:26] All right.

[01:03:27] So we were there.

[01:03:28] Yeah.

[01:03:28] We were there.

[01:03:29] Uh, he runs off.

[01:03:31] Uh, he has like a nightmare dream sequence about being in the real world and everybody's

[01:03:35] laughing at him.

[01:03:37] Great scene.

[01:03:37] Great scene.

[01:03:38] I've definitely dreamt about being on a real world before.

[01:03:40] This is not new.

[01:03:41] Yeah.

[01:03:42] This is like, I have this dream, uh, at least once a week, uh, except I'm back out in Fiji

[01:03:47] and I'm being like, uh, like I've been lured out under false pretenses to be like, uh,

[01:03:51] sabotaged.

[01:03:51] Uh, so like, I have like, I have like the reality TV nightmare every week for sure.

[01:03:56] Uh, and here, Bradford's having a vivid one.

[01:03:58] He's on one.

[01:04:00] Jeff Proph is high-fiving Batman, Batman wagging in like, ha, I won the bet.

[01:04:04] Uh, investigating his Rachel league, uh, Coke.

[01:04:08] Okay.

[01:04:10] Back at school.

[01:04:11] We get, uh, an amazing rap sequence.

[01:04:18] Yeah.

[01:04:19] Summarizing where we're at in the movie.

[01:04:22] These, uh, these black folks, there's a regular bard minstrels here on this, in this,

[01:04:26] in this, uh, in this, uh, movie day.

[01:04:28] Cause they had to rap and tell everybody that she's all that.

[01:04:30] They said the title of the movie.

[01:04:32] They said the thing.

[01:04:33] And I pointed, I definitely pointed.

[01:04:35] You got to, you got to.

[01:04:36] Yeah.

[01:04:37] All right.

[01:04:38] Josh, there is a harrowing sequence.

[01:04:40] She's all that rap.

[01:04:42] She's all that rap.

[01:04:44] Oh, you know, that could have also been a wand off probably.

[01:04:46] Right.

[01:04:46] That's what I'm saying.

[01:04:47] I'm trying to see if lyrics.com has it.

[01:04:50] All right.

[01:04:51] Do you ready?

[01:04:51] I've got it.

[01:04:52] Uh, between two girls, which one we going to pick?

[01:04:56] I'd rather pick Lainey cause Taylor beats all shit.

[01:05:00] Hmm.

[01:05:01] That was season 46 with Charlie's to talk about Taylor all the time.

[01:05:05] Yeah.

[01:05:06] I'm trying to see like, what else do they say?

[01:05:07] It really is just a recap of the film.

[01:05:10] Yeah.

[01:05:10] Uh, it's like for anyone who like in the theater joining us.

[01:05:13] Yeah.

[01:05:13] Gotten up to pee or something.

[01:05:15] Like in a different movie.

[01:05:17] Yeah.

[01:05:17] Yeah.

[01:05:18] Yeah.

[01:05:18] It's like, in case you just wanted to get in on like the last third of the film,

[01:05:21] here's what happened so far.

[01:05:23] Your movies maybe should have like mid movie recaps.

[01:05:26] Yeah.

[01:05:27] It's very Shakespearean.

[01:05:28] Right.

[01:05:28] Because, um, isn't she's all that, uh, just like taming of the shrew.

[01:05:32] Right.

[01:05:32] Yeah.

[01:05:33] Yeah.

[01:05:33] Yeah.

[01:05:33] Yeah.

[01:05:37] Oh, that's why I have a puck character in here too.

[01:05:39] Oh yeah.

[01:05:41] Oh, yeah.

[01:05:43] Yeah.

[01:05:43] Okay.

[01:05:44] Uh, there's a harrowing sequence that happens now though.

[01:05:47] Uh, okay.

[01:05:48] So we see again, I don't really like understand like what the grades are at this school.

[01:05:53] Um, but Kieran Culkin is here at the high school.

[01:05:57] Is he a freshman in high school?

[01:05:59] He's kind of young.

[01:06:01] Yeah.

[01:06:01] Yeah.

[01:06:02] Yeah.

[01:06:02] Maybe it's one of those high schools that starts a little early.

[01:06:04] Like he's like an eight.

[01:06:05] He's going up to all the tables and asking all the students if they want fresh ground

[01:06:10] pepper on their lunch.

[01:06:12] Which is insane.

[01:06:13] Is he being hazed?

[01:06:16] Is he being, no seriously, is he being hazed?

[01:06:19] Uh huh.

[01:06:19] Uh huh.

[01:06:20] Why is there people allowing him to do that?

[01:06:22] This is like Lisa sprinkling the glitter on people's food on big brother.

[01:06:26] Um, you can't just touch my food, but guess what?

[01:06:29] Now there's the two kids here that are going to start bullying.

[01:06:32] Now, my question is, did Freddie Prince jr.

[01:06:37] Put these two bullies up to harassing Laney Boggs is brother on this specific day?

[01:06:46] No, no, no.

[01:06:48] Okay.

[01:06:49] This was very, all very convenient.

[01:06:51] The timing of everything.

[01:06:52] Well, not only is the timing.

[01:06:54] It's like if Sam showed up and was like, all right, everybody leave baby Andy alone.

[01:07:00] I know you, you eat your pubes.

[01:07:03] Now you eat your pubes too.

[01:07:05] And I was like, and they're like, yes, sir.

[01:07:08] Yes.

[01:07:08] Yes.

[01:07:08] Zach.

[01:07:09] Thank you.

[01:07:10] Like, yeah.

[01:07:12] Yeah.

[01:07:13] What does that mean?

[01:07:14] Like a vacuum.

[01:07:15] You know, I wasn't paying such close attention to the movie at the point that this starts unfolding.

[01:07:22] And so watching it happen with having like, just like looked away from the screen for a little while, was a very alarming experience.

[01:07:30] I didn't realize that he, it was a pizza.

[01:07:33] Initially I was like, is he putting pubes on a chicken Parmesan?

[01:07:37] Like what's happening over here?

[01:07:39] But yeah, it's this, it's the, it's the, it, this is like the red headed bully from a lot of like movies.

[01:07:47] And I'm trying to find.

[01:07:49] Yeah.

[01:07:49] What is he?

[01:07:50] What else is he from this kid?

[01:07:52] He's, he's, he's in a American pie for sure.

[01:07:56] Yeah.

[01:07:56] Red head guy.

[01:07:58] What is his name?

[01:07:59] Blocked him.

[01:08:00] Chris Owen is the name of the actor.

[01:08:02] He's an icon.

[01:08:03] Okay.

[01:08:03] Let's just say that he is an icon.

[01:08:05] He's 44.

[01:08:07] Currently.

[01:08:08] That's the Shermanator.

[01:08:09] That's the Shermanator.

[01:08:10] Okay.

[01:08:11] Yes.

[01:08:11] Yes.

[01:08:12] Shermanator.

[01:08:13] Thank you.

[01:08:14] God.

[01:08:16] I think that would have been really bad by us.

[01:08:19] Uh, the Shermanator, uh, puts his pubes on not a chicken Parmesan, but a cafeteria pizza.

[01:08:27] And then Freddie Prince jr.

[01:08:28] Comes in.

[01:08:29] We were talking about Stifler last week over on a final destination.

[01:08:34] He's, he saves, uh, how much final destination have you watched?

[01:08:38] Only one.

[01:08:40] Just to find out.

[01:08:41] I've, I've seen most, I've seen all of them.

[01:08:44] I believe Chappelle really knows a lot about it.

[01:08:45] If you thought that that was good about not another teen movie, then, uh, he's got it.

[01:08:49] For final destination too.

[01:08:50] You flatter me.

[01:08:51] I actually did misspeak on this one though.

[01:08:53] It's not, she thought that is not Taming of the Shrew.

[01:08:54] That's, uh, that's 10 things I hate about you.

[01:08:56] Uh, she's all that.

[01:08:58] This is the screenplay by M night Shyamalan, which is.

[01:09:00] I know.

[01:09:01] Wow.

[01:09:02] A twist.

[01:09:03] Yeah.

[01:09:04] And you know what else has a lot of twists.

[01:09:07] Yeah.

[01:09:08] Got it.

[01:09:09] The new era.

[01:09:10] Yeah.

[01:09:11] But it's Josh.

[01:09:13] Is this the survivor auction?

[01:09:14] Cause Jeff Probst is like, Hey, I know you don't eat pubes, but first person to get

[01:09:21] the pubes down gets to win a big breakfast.

[01:09:24] Well, the good news is Kyle, there's dairy on here.

[01:09:29] Yeah.

[01:09:33] I mean, this is a hate crime.

[01:09:35] This is, this is a, this is a garnish.

[01:09:39] Yeah.

[01:09:40] In case anybody didn't watch the movie, uh, these two bullies come in and that in addition

[01:09:44] to like bullying, uh, Kieran Culkin, uh, and now this might be something cute that in

[01:09:49] a succession, Kieran Culkin, uh, may, uh, this is where he gets the ideas for these things.

[01:09:54] Um, this kid like, uh, ends up, uh, putting his pubic hair onto.

[01:10:02] And he like, he like, he like pinches them out.

[01:10:05] I think.

[01:10:06] Yeah.

[01:10:07] Was he keeping them there?

[01:10:08] Did he, did he plug?

[01:10:10] I'm so sorry to get this graphic, but it is like, it's like a thumb and four fingers

[01:10:14] worth of like a, you know what this looks like?

[01:10:16] Not that Chappelle, you know, when they do the final four fire making.

[01:10:22] Yes.

[01:10:22] Oh, and they're like, yeah, like you gotta get your Tinder.

[01:10:26] That's like what you need.

[01:10:28] Yeah.

[01:10:28] Hey, life hack for the future survivors.

[01:10:30] Okay.

[01:10:31] Yeah.

[01:10:31] Use the pubes.

[01:10:33] If the leaves and stuff are too wet, you know, you gotta have something.

[01:10:37] Sorry for you.

[01:10:37] I took your flint.

[01:10:38] Hey, don't worry.

[01:10:39] We got back a plan.

[01:10:41] That's fine.

[01:10:41] That's fine.

[01:10:42] You can have it.

[01:10:44] We've got a redhead right here.

[01:10:46] Right.

[01:10:47] You could have it.

[01:10:48] That's fine.

[01:10:49] Yeah.

[01:10:49] That's fine.

[01:10:50] Famously.

[01:10:51] The sheer force of will that must exist within the Shermanator to pull that off.

[01:10:56] Literally.

[01:10:58] Like, good God.

[01:11:00] It's a significant amount of pubic hair that he is just yanked off of his body.

[01:11:06] Yeah.

[01:11:07] And then what were they going to do?

[01:11:08] Were they going to force Kieran Culkin to eat the pizza?

[01:11:11] Yeah.

[01:11:12] Or were they just basically gonna just like, wait for him?

[01:11:16] They didn't do a good job of like, no, they didn't do like, it was not like, there was no

[01:11:20] camouflage.

[01:11:21] Yeah.

[01:11:21] So no reasonable person was going to eat that without like, uh.

[01:11:24] Well, no, they distracted him.

[01:11:26] They did.

[01:11:26] They distracted him.

[01:11:27] And while he like.

[01:11:28] Eventually, he was going to put his eyes on the pizza and be like, oh, what is this?

[01:11:31] A mountain of pubes on my pizza?

[01:11:33] Like he would have known.

[01:11:34] For sure.

[01:11:35] Are pubes easily identified as pubes or you're like just, oh, there's hair in my food.

[01:11:39] Maybe that's why baby Andy wanted no money for the auction.

[01:11:42] Yeah.

[01:11:43] Right.

[01:11:43] They say the survivor pizza legendarily not good also.

[01:11:47] Well, I always said he would try the survivor pizza.

[01:11:50] Listen.

[01:11:51] Yeah.

[01:11:51] Well, but yes.

[01:11:52] So Chappelle, I had said yesterday when we were going to be getting ready to do this,

[01:11:59] I was like, oh, you know what?

[01:12:00] Maybe this might be a fun movie.

[01:12:01] Maybe I'll watch this with my kids maybe.

[01:12:03] Yeah.

[01:12:03] And then I got a message from Josh Wiggler.

[01:12:06] Like I was watching.

[01:12:08] It was like my beeper was going off like beep, beep, beep, beep, 9-1-1 text.

[01:12:12] Like, don't, don't watch the movie with your kids.

[01:12:15] A ginger puts his pubes on the pizza.

[01:12:18] Yeah.

[01:12:19] Oh, that was your, you reached in your bag and saw a scroll from Josh Wiggler and said

[01:12:23] like, listen, this is.

[01:12:24] I had the safety without power out of the, the Paramount plus app.

[01:12:29] I, you know what?

[01:12:30] I, in, in our continued interrogation of this film, now that we're talking about it, I think

[01:12:35] that I, uh, was a very good friend to you in that moment.

[01:12:39] Uh, I don't think, and I think I, I was a responsible adult, uh, for Dominic and Anthony.

[01:12:45] Yeah.

[01:12:45] I don't think that they should have put eyes on this yet.

[01:12:47] Yeah.

[01:12:47] I think that it might've been just like over my kid's head though.

[01:12:50] I was like, meanwhile, I watched this movie in the nineties as well.

[01:12:53] There was a lot of cursing though in the movie.

[01:12:55] Yeah.

[01:12:55] They dropped the F bomb.

[01:12:56] I wasn't, I was surprised.

[01:12:57] Yeah.

[01:12:58] It wasn't as wholesome as I remember.

[01:13:00] It's not a wholesome film.

[01:13:02] Like within 10 minutes is an unwholesome, within like the first few minutes of the film,

[01:13:06] it's an unwholesome film.

[01:13:07] Yeah.

[01:13:10] Earlier the day, Rob was like, I think I'm going to watch this with the kids.

[01:13:13] Like, all right, we'll watch it first.

[01:13:15] All right.

[01:13:15] I don't think we can do that.

[01:13:16] Paul Walker, uh, he's going to show up and he's asking Laney out.

[01:13:21] He's shows up at Falafel.

[01:13:22] Are we going to yada yada pass the part that Freddie Prince Jr.

[01:13:26] then publicly makes the bullies eat the pub pizza?

[01:13:29] I thought we kind of got to it.

[01:13:32] Sounds like it was implied.

[01:13:33] He's hailed as a hero.

[01:13:35] Like everyone's watching.

[01:13:36] Even Rachel Lee cook watches it from afar.

[01:13:38] And she's kind of just like, yeah, yeah.

[01:13:40] Worse for the friend.

[01:13:41] I think than the person who's actual pubes they were.

[01:13:45] I don't know if that changes anything.

[01:13:47] I don't think it's like your own pubes are more palatable than someone else's pubes.

[01:13:51] I think pubes is pubes.

[01:13:52] Yeah.

[01:13:52] Yeah.

[01:13:52] Put this on the next Renap census.

[01:13:55] Uh, are pubes pubes?

[01:13:56] Yes or no.

[01:13:57] Hmm.

[01:13:57] Is that one of the 275 questions?

[01:14:00] No, that wasn't the census.

[01:14:01] That wasn't one of the, that wasn't one of the, would you rather.

[01:14:05] You eat your own pubes or your friends pubes.

[01:14:08] I think you would, you would rather on a pizza.

[01:14:11] Yeah.

[01:14:11] On a pizza is an important qualifier.

[01:14:14] Yeah.

[01:14:15] On a pizza.

[01:14:16] Uh, yeah.

[01:14:16] I think he's Jeff Probst in this moment.

[01:14:18] I think he is like, Hey, this is the auction.

[01:14:20] You bought this now eat it.

[01:14:21] Yeah.

[01:14:22] But one way in which this differs from the auction is, uh, there's some sharing of food.

[01:14:27] Mm-hmm.

[01:14:27] Right.

[01:14:28] Right.

[01:14:28] You got to share this with somebody.

[01:14:29] You have to share this with your friend.

[01:14:31] Okay.

[01:14:31] Yeah.

[01:14:31] This is like, okay, pick two people to come up here and eat all the chocolate.

[01:14:35] Eat all the chocolate peanut butter.

[01:14:36] Exactly.

[01:14:37] All right.

[01:14:38] Like you have to.

[01:14:39] Paul Walker.

[01:14:40] He's never had to talk about pubes on a podcast.

[01:14:42] We're good.

[01:14:43] I won't, I won't make that promise.

[01:14:45] Paul Walker.

[01:14:46] He's going to ask out Laney.

[01:14:47] Uh, it says, Oh, why did Zach already ask you out to the prom?

[01:14:52] Yeah.

[01:14:52] He's bold.

[01:14:53] He's bold.

[01:14:54] Like he is not, not no connection to her at all.

[01:14:56] And now he's like, so I always liked you.

[01:14:59] Yeah.

[01:14:59] Do you want to go to the prom?

[01:15:00] She's like, no, hell no.

[01:15:01] He's like, okay, well just don't let Zach hurt your feelings.

[01:15:04] Bye.

[01:15:04] Is this a, uh, he just really wants to win the bet.

[01:15:09] B, uh, he's trying to, uh, humiliate Zach.

[01:15:13] C, he, uh, has this hotel room plan that he's, uh, that thinks that he's going to be able to, uh, score with Laney Boggs.

[01:15:24] D all the above.

[01:15:27] He's going to score tonight.

[01:15:30] I think that there is, um, there's a darkness to Dean.

[01:15:35] Mm hmm.

[01:15:35] Yeah.

[01:15:36] All of it.

[01:15:37] That guy sucks.

[01:15:39] I think that there's like an untapped, if she's all that was remade as a Netflix limited series.

[01:15:47] Mm hmm.

[01:15:48] Yeah.

[01:15:48] Not he's all that.

[01:15:50] There's a Dean episode for sure.

[01:15:52] And like in the Dean episode, you find out about the pressures on him.

[01:15:56] It's like euphoria.

[01:15:58] Yeah.

[01:15:59] Yeah.

[01:15:59] We dive deep into Dean's and like, why is he like this?

[01:16:04] So like nothing that justifies Dean, but I think enough content that explains him.

[01:16:09] Who broke you, Dean?

[01:16:10] I don't think enough of an explanation of Dean in this movie, but Dean does strike me as a character with some unexplored depth.

[01:16:18] Mm hmm.

[01:16:18] I think we could have gone deeper on Dean because there's times where he like shows up at the house at the part of the prime.

[01:16:25] He's like, well, I showed up.

[01:16:26] That's got to count for something.

[01:16:28] And there's like something broken in Dean that brings him there.

[01:16:32] Yeah.

[01:16:32] I'm glad you mentioned that because for me, and I don't know if I've ever mentioned this on my podcast, but Paul Walker has always been a villainous character to me because of this.

[01:16:39] Yeah.

[01:16:40] Like, you know how you have that one role that says just like you never shake that role for me, like Macaulay Culkin is always the good son.

[01:16:48] Like it'll never be home alone.

[01:16:50] Like it's for other people.

[01:16:51] But for me, it's always the good son.

[01:16:53] And so like for me, Paul Walker was always this role.

[01:16:56] So seeing him in other stuff, I think Joyride, like I'm always like, he's kind of sucks, right?

[01:17:01] Like this guy kind of sucks.

[01:17:03] I was wrong about a lot of the other roles, obviously, but it's like, it's really hard to shake that one that imprints on you.

[01:17:07] This was the one.

[01:17:08] Totally.

[01:17:09] Okay.

[01:17:10] All right.

[01:17:11] So.

[01:17:13] We see Zach and dad.

[01:17:17] This is really the end of that storyline.

[01:17:19] The I don't want your life.

[01:17:21] You know, you can't fix your mistakes.

[01:17:24] So you don't want your life.

[01:17:27] Yeah.

[01:17:28] I don't know if there's a survivor parallel here with the storyline of Zach and his dad.

[01:17:33] Is there blood versus water?

[01:17:35] Is it in the blood?

[01:17:36] Is it in the blood?

[01:17:39] Is Dartmouth in the blood?

[01:17:41] Is Dartmouth in the blood?

[01:17:43] Shot in the Dartmouth.

[01:17:44] Yeah.

[01:17:46] Okay.

[01:17:47] So Taylor, she's going to go to the prom with Zach.

[01:17:51] Zach.

[01:17:52] And this is when Paul Walker reveals the bet.

[01:17:56] Am I a bet?

[01:17:58] Yeah.

[01:17:59] He just kind of blurts it out.

[01:18:01] He says, Hey, just, you know, like, I mean, I know you want to go with him, but it's probably just because of that bet.

[01:18:06] Wait, bet.

[01:18:07] What bet?

[01:18:08] What are you talking about?

[01:18:09] Bet.

[01:18:10] I don't know what he's talking about.

[01:18:11] Get out of here, Dean.

[01:18:12] So that's, that's preposterous.

[01:18:15] It made more sense than what everything happened prior to this.

[01:18:18] Forward looking.

[01:18:19] Could this be a little bit of a preview of Sam with, uh, with no Fs left to give, uh, Sierra gone.

[01:18:29] Uh, is he just going to go out there and, uh, like, uh, drop bombs?

[01:18:35] Like, Oh, it's just a bet.

[01:18:37] Like, what does he have that he could do?

[01:18:39] What bomb does he have to drop?

[01:18:40] Like, Oh yeah.

[01:18:41] Andy, didn't you say that you were gun got a strong.

[01:18:45] You couldn't wait to vote out everybody from Tuku and Lavo.

[01:18:50] Right.

[01:18:50] Who's like, what got a strong.

[01:18:52] You didn't say that.

[01:18:53] What are you talking about?

[01:18:54] Sam's like, yeah, I gotcha.

[01:18:56] Um, yeah, he has to do something.

[01:18:57] You know, I think this is the moment where, yeah, we're at the, the, the part of the move.

[01:19:02] Yeah.

[01:19:03] I think he needs to.

[01:19:04] Yeah.

[01:19:05] I mean, I think he's in that spot right now.

[01:19:07] Right.

[01:19:07] Yeah.

[01:19:08] If, if Andy is downtrodden, who's doing it?

[01:19:10] It's Paul Walker, you know?

[01:19:11] And so, uh, I think Sam, Sam would be Paul Walker at this point in the movie.

[01:19:14] Yeah.

[01:19:15] And then here comes Taylor, uh, to pile on just coming out of nowhere with the steel chair

[01:19:20] to add in on Lee.

[01:19:23] Oh, Laney.

[01:19:24] You didn't think that you became popular for real.

[01:19:27] Did you?

[01:19:28] What are you going to cry now?

[01:19:30] Yeah.

[01:19:33] No, she heard.

[01:19:34] No one's here to do that to Andy.

[01:19:36] Luckily, I think.

[01:19:37] Mm hmm.

[01:19:37] No Sierra from the jury.

[01:19:39] Yeah.

[01:19:39] Oh yeah.

[01:19:40] Yeah.

[01:19:41] Well, that, that, I mean, that does lead us to what we're about to get into, which is

[01:19:45] the votes, uh, you know, at the end of the season, Andy, does this burn, you know,

[01:19:50] Sierra, the mayor of Ponderosa sitting out there waiting on her chance to dunk on you at

[01:19:54] the final tribal council.

[01:19:55] And I believe that it was in the hit documentary, uh, featuring, uh, two of the podcasters on

[01:20:02] this panel.

[01:20:03] I stand Kageyan in which chaos cast.

[01:20:07] Cast me.

[01:20:08] The lesson that I learned.

[01:20:11] Cast me.

[01:20:15] The lesson that chaos cast learned was you want to put the first person on the jury.

[01:20:22] You want to put on in as clean a way as possible with as little blood on your hands as possible.

[01:20:28] Baby Andy has violated that rule.

[01:20:33] Yeah.

[01:20:34] He's like, he's covered in blood on his hair.

[01:20:37] He's covered in Sierra's blood.

[01:20:38] He's like carrying it.

[01:20:40] Yeah.

[01:20:41] Yeah.

[01:20:41] Yeah.

[01:20:42] A different story, a story of a different prom altogether.

[01:20:46] Yep.

[01:20:46] Right.

[01:20:46] Okay.

[01:20:47] All right.

[01:20:48] So Zach keeps calling the phone.

[01:20:51] Uh, Kieran Culkin hangs up, says wrong number.

[01:20:55] A-hole.

[01:20:55] A-hole.

[01:20:57] Mm hmm.

[01:20:57] Yeah.

[01:20:58] I'm there.

[01:20:59] So we're going to the prom.

[01:21:01] Lainey's going to go to the prom with Paul Walker and Zach is forced to go with Taylor

[01:21:07] to the prom.

[01:21:08] Uh, big song dance choreography number.

[01:21:12] Uh, not since the Mecca on survivor.

[01:21:14] Have we seen anything like this?

[01:21:16] Yeah.

[01:21:17] Easily one of the best dance numbers in a, in a high school movie.

[01:21:19] I mean, they killed it.

[01:21:20] I'm calling it.

[01:21:21] The next thing survivor needs to bring back is the Mecca.

[01:21:25] We're in Fiji y'all.

[01:21:27] Been in Fiji.

[01:21:27] They don't even talk about it.

[01:21:28] If they brought back the Mecca.

[01:21:30] We haven't brought the Mecca back.

[01:21:32] It would be.

[01:21:34] Unanimously like a survivor approval ratings, uh, through the roof.

[01:21:38] I do think once upon a time when I had some ears to bend, I think I was like pushing

[01:21:44] this.

[01:21:44] I was like, you guys gotta bring Mecca back.

[01:21:46] Yeah.

[01:21:48] I think the Fijian said, no, I think they said, okay, you can use a Fiji for as long as you

[01:21:53] want.

[01:21:53] Just don't mention us, leave us out of it.

[01:21:55] I don't want to be a part of it anymore.

[01:21:57] You know, I think that's really what it is.

[01:21:58] Cause you know, the survivor never says it like we're in Fiji.

[01:22:01] Nope.

[01:22:01] They're just like, all right, it's the new era.

[01:22:03] Why?

[01:22:04] Because contractually, they're contractually obligated to leave Fiji the hell alone.

[01:22:07] So yeah, yeah.

[01:22:08] You can leave three islands and ask me.

[01:22:09] Leave his name out of their mouth.

[01:22:10] Yeah.

[01:22:11] Right.

[01:22:11] Yeah.

[01:22:12] Okay.

[01:22:14] So, but they do the Mecca here.

[01:22:15] This is an iconic dance.

[01:22:17] It's the best dance sequence in any high school movie.

[01:22:20] Yeah.

[01:22:21] Fatboy Slim.

[01:22:23] Yeah.

[01:22:24] RIP.

[01:22:25] Right about now.

[01:22:27] Yeah.

[01:22:28] Yeah.

[01:22:28] That's all brother.

[01:22:30] Check it out.

[01:22:31] That's all brother.

[01:22:33] Yeah.

[01:22:34] Yeah.

[01:22:38] Yeah.

[01:22:41] All right.

[01:22:42] So, um, the teacher, the art teacher shows up and tells Laney at the prom.

[01:22:48] I faxed your art to school.

[01:22:52] What?

[01:22:54] I faxed your art.

[01:22:55] It's crazy.

[01:22:58] So you show art, art schools.

[01:23:01] Wow.

[01:23:02] Yeah.

[01:23:03] I faxed it in.

[01:23:05] Yeah.

[01:23:05] Yeah.

[01:23:06] Like, oh man, I wish I wish I'd known you were doing such good art.

[01:23:09] It's a good thing.

[01:23:10] Freddie Prince Jr.

[01:23:11] violated your trust and behind your back just gave us some of your art to fax to people.

[01:23:18] Yeah.

[01:23:18] Okay.

[01:23:19] I don't know.

[01:23:20] Yeah.

[01:23:21] In the men's room, Paul Walker is bragging about how I got this hotel room, room 409.

[01:23:28] I'm going to make history with Laney box.

[01:23:34] Um, this is a lot.

[01:23:37] There's some stuff to unpack here that I think is.

[01:23:40] Yes.

[01:23:40] So immediately previous to this scene, uh, Eldon Hanson, who plays, uh, Rachel Lee Cook's

[01:23:47] best friend in this movie, AKA, uh, what is his name in mighty ducks?

[01:23:53] I'm forgetting, but he's the bash brother.

[01:23:55] Uh, one of them, uh, and, uh, him and Anna Paquin hit it off instantly.

[01:24:02] Uh, and there's clearly like immediate sparks between the two of them.

[01:24:06] Yes.

[01:24:07] Yes.

[01:24:08] Sorry.

[01:24:09] That was gonna bother me.

[01:24:10] Thank you.

[01:24:11] Uh, old and read, uh, and Anna Paquin are hitting it off.

[01:24:14] So many sparks.

[01:24:16] Keep it away from certain hair.

[01:24:18] Yeah.

[01:24:18] He's like, he's crushing like a huge plate of food.

[01:24:21] I believe, uh, when Anna Paquin comes over.

[01:24:24] And so then we cut to the scene where Paul Walker is bragging about how he's got the hotel

[01:24:30] room booked.

[01:24:31] Uh, and, uh, he leaves and everybody leaves and he's openly bragging even says like the, the

[01:24:37] room number, like he's giving out key information lurking in the bathroom stall.

[01:24:43] Yes.

[01:24:44] On prom night, taking a very clear prom night dump in between macking it to Anna Paquin is

[01:24:55] Fulton Reed.

[01:24:57] Yeah.

[01:24:57] Uh, and so the front, like the, the pivotal remainder of this movie of Freddie Prince

[01:25:03] Jr.

[01:25:03] Like being like fired up to stop Dean from sleeping with Laney under false pretense emanates from

[01:25:13] Fulton Reed really had to go.

[01:25:15] Yeah.

[01:25:15] And like, if he like, and so like a number two becomes a very important part of it.

[01:25:20] Can I also add that right before that we get the reveal of, um, Eldon Henson's character's

[01:25:26] name.

[01:25:27] Uh, what's your name?

[01:25:29] His name is Jesse Jackson.

[01:25:31] Jesse Jackson.

[01:25:33] Jesse Jackson.

[01:25:33] Yeah.

[01:25:34] The Reverend, which was, uh, interesting choice.

[01:25:38] Uh, we're going to name this character, Jesse Jackson.

[01:25:41] Well, if he was on survivor redemption Island and he was in stealth or us, we know what his

[01:25:46] nickname would have been.

[01:25:48] Yeah.

[01:25:48] I will call you the Reverend.

[01:25:50] Yes.

[01:25:51] Yeah.

[01:25:51] Yeah.

[01:25:53] My frat brother.

[01:25:53] Okay.

[01:25:55] But yeah.

[01:25:56] And so yeah, Paul Walker is like really bragging about, uh, room 409.

[01:26:00] Uh, he claims he spent $300 on this hotel room, uh, which in 1999, this is, that's like

[01:26:09] a million bucks, right?

[01:26:10] Insane.

[01:26:11] Insane.

[01:26:12] Like, let's just call it what it is.

[01:26:13] That's a lot of money.

[01:26:15] Survivor prize winning book a suite.

[01:26:18] Yeah.

[01:26:18] The four seasons.

[01:26:19] Um, yeah.

[01:26:21] Not total landscaping.

[01:26:22] Yeah.

[01:26:23] The real one, the real one.

[01:26:25] Um, money one.

[01:26:26] Anyway.

[01:26:26] So, uh, he has this crucial piece of information.

[01:26:30] Uh, we named the prom King.

[01:26:32] We named the prom queen, uh, Zach Seiler, 1999 prom King and Taylor Vaughn 1999 prom queen.

[01:26:41] They say, they say it's the closest vote they've ever had.

[01:26:44] They said it was very close, but it was like eight or nine points.

[01:26:47] It was kind of, I mean, kind of a landslide.

[01:26:49] Unfortunately, it was not close.

[01:26:50] Yeah.

[01:26:51] You know, you know, time will tell really, you know, maybe they still counting the votes.

[01:26:55] Who knows?

[01:26:55] Maybe.

[01:26:56] It's possible that there are some votes for Rachel Lee Cook that have yet to appear.

[01:27:00] But Lenny had already conceded.

[01:27:01] She's gone.

[01:27:02] You know, she's, she's rushing out because you know, um, Dean is like, Hey, you want

[01:27:07] to get a room?

[01:27:08] Now this is wild because you know, we see that Zach and, um, and his ex girlfriend are the

[01:27:14] prom King and queen as everybody, um, you know, thought would happen.

[01:27:16] But now he doesn't have time to celebrate because he's got the news from Jesse that there's

[01:27:21] a hotel room thing going down and he has to rush off and go.

[01:27:23] 409.

[01:27:24] He gets the room 409 and he starts calling like hotel Beverly Hills hotel.

[01:27:28] Hey, do you have somebody in room 409?

[01:27:31] Um, like how could you ever find the person you, you, you, maybe you could look what hotel

[01:27:38] has four floors, but he's out of there trying to find, uh, who's in room 409.

[01:27:44] And I don't know.

[01:27:45] He somehow then just goes to her house.

[01:27:48] Yeah.

[01:27:49] And what was your plan?

[01:27:51] This is my question.

[01:27:53] He was going to wait until she left the hotel.

[01:27:55] So like you were going to, you were going to wait there so that you could be there.

[01:27:59] Like, I know what you did last summer.

[01:28:02] Yeah.

[01:28:02] I know what you did.

[01:28:03] I still know.

[01:28:04] Like, what was your plan?

[01:28:06] She shows up.

[01:28:07] She shows up the next day.

[01:28:08] He's sitting in a dark room with his, with his chair turned around.

[01:28:11] Yeah.

[01:28:12] Turned to the lamp.

[01:28:13] Yeah.

[01:28:14] Like fancy seeing you here.

[01:28:16] Oh, you know, what was your plan?

[01:28:21] And he's like in my home.

[01:28:22] He's like, yeah, your brother let me in.

[01:28:25] We were playing.

[01:28:25] Also.

[01:28:26] So yeah, when she comes home, she initially sees Kevin Pollack and Kieran Culkin on the

[01:28:32] couch watching TV.

[01:28:33] And also that's what we're seeing.

[01:28:35] And then she comes home and rounds the corner and, uh, Freddie Prince Jr.

[01:28:41] is standing there in the corner with like his hands clasped.

[01:28:44] Like Kevin James.

[01:28:45] His shoulders slumped.

[01:28:46] Yeah.

[01:28:46] It really is like the Kevin James meme is what he looked like.

[01:28:49] And like, what was the deal?

[01:28:51] Like how did he explain any of this to Kevin Pollack?

[01:28:56] And then what did Kevin Pollack say?

[01:28:57] Like, all right, you could stay, but stand in that corner.

[01:29:00] Or was it like, okay, there's headlights.

[01:29:03] Freddie Prince, go to that corner.

[01:29:04] So it's a big dramatic reveal.

[01:29:06] Yeah.

[01:29:06] She's coming quick.

[01:29:07] I'm tired.

[01:29:08] They're like the choreographing of this, the staging of this is remarkable.

[01:29:12] Yeah.

[01:29:14] Do you think he told the dad, like, by the way, Laney is in a hotel with Paul Walker

[01:29:19] right at this moment.

[01:29:20] You don't know anyone else, though.

[01:29:22] 409.

[01:29:23] Right?

[01:29:24] In the greater Los Angeles area.

[01:29:25] Mm-hmm.

[01:29:26] There's only one that cost $300.

[01:29:28] So I can point you to the right one.

[01:29:29] Yeah.

[01:29:30] Yeah.

[01:29:30] That's a good detail.

[01:29:32] Actually, that could have helped narrow some things down.

[01:29:34] Jesse knew.

[01:29:35] Yeah.

[01:29:36] In the fervor, I think he just gave up and got home.

[01:29:39] And so Kevin Pollack is like, look, I got to go to bed.

[01:29:42] Just go.

[01:29:43] I don't care what you do.

[01:29:44] Just go in the backyard.

[01:29:45] You crazy kids.

[01:29:46] Take it outside.

[01:29:47] Get by the pool.

[01:29:48] Yeah.

[01:29:50] And he's watching from the window, isn't he?

[01:29:52] Well, he had to set up.

[01:29:53] He's behind the scenes.

[01:29:54] He's now production.

[01:29:56] He's setting up the lighting.

[01:29:57] Okay.

[01:29:57] Yeah.

[01:29:58] The backyard is very, you know, photogenic.

[01:30:02] I feel like this is weird behavior from the father.

[01:30:04] I just think we've already outlawed him.

[01:30:06] He sucks.

[01:30:06] He's just like very, this is very odd.

[01:30:08] Yeah.

[01:30:09] A little overly involved, like more cleaning.

[01:30:11] You know, like if you want to be involved in my life, clean the house.

[01:30:15] Yeah.

[01:30:16] Right.

[01:30:17] Yeah.

[01:30:18] Don't worry about my life.

[01:30:19] Don't worry about this.

[01:30:20] And he lets anybody in the house, by the way, he did let Dean in earlier.

[01:30:24] He was like, whatever.

[01:30:25] He let the whole JV soccer team in.

[01:30:27] Yeah.

[01:30:28] Right.

[01:30:28] He does not care.

[01:30:29] He has like no danger sense at all.

[01:30:33] Like blindly blissfully walking.

[01:30:36] He's also for a guy who is obsessed with Jeopardy.

[01:30:38] Also surprisingly bad at Jeopardy.

[01:30:40] Horrible at it.

[01:30:41] The JV soccer team creamed him earlier in the movie.

[01:30:43] Yeah.

[01:30:44] Um, so the movie, uh, we get this, uh, last moment with, uh, Laney and with, uh, Freddie

[01:30:54] Prince jr.

[01:30:55] And, uh, he says, Hey, uh, can I have the last dance?

[01:30:58] He says, no, this is an iconic speech.

[01:31:00] He said, that's a different movie.

[01:31:01] Yeah.

[01:31:02] The first.

[01:31:03] Yeah.

[01:31:04] Iconic speech.

[01:31:05] He said, I made that bet before I knew you, before I knew me.

[01:31:08] And you could see her just kind of knees buckle because that's all he needed to.

[01:31:11] Yeah.

[01:31:11] This is a, this is a final tribal council speech.

[01:31:13] Okay.

[01:31:14] This is how you do it.

[01:31:15] Yeah.

[01:31:15] Take notes.

[01:31:17] Pay attention.

[01:31:19] Yeah.

[01:31:19] Get real close up on them.

[01:31:20] And then, you know, lower your tone just a little bit and whisper like I made that

[01:31:24] bet.

[01:31:25] I voted Sierra out before I knew you, before I really knew me and then just lean into it.

[01:31:31] I think you got it, baby Andy.

[01:31:32] Yeah.

[01:31:34] I think the real, the real thing to take away from this as we're trying to apply it

[01:31:39] to survivor 47 is that it is not Rachel Lee cook who is the winner.

[01:31:45] It is Freddie Prince jr.

[01:31:46] Who wins.

[01:31:47] She's all that ultimately.

[01:31:48] Yeah.

[01:31:49] So it does behoove us to identify the Freddie Prince jr.

[01:31:54] Of survivor 47.

[01:31:55] And I'm not saying we need to do that now, but in the weeks ahead for all of us to remember

[01:32:00] the lessons learned from she's all that.

[01:32:02] And as we continue forward, which one of these guys is Zach Seiler?

[01:32:07] Yeah.

[01:32:09] Cause that person.

[01:32:10] He has a growth.

[01:32:11] That person got it.

[01:32:12] Yeah.

[01:32:12] That person has the final tribal speech banked.

[01:32:16] Yeah.

[01:32:17] I do think that a lot of the narrative about Zach Seiler's character in the movie is a

[01:32:23] lot of sort of like the ethos of survivor of like my, my dad wanted to be this and I

[01:32:30] didn't want to repeat the same life that my dad had.

[01:32:34] So I got out of my comfort zone and I ended up making a decision.

[01:32:38] That wasn't what my family approved on, but I did it for me.

[01:32:42] I did what was best for me.

[01:32:44] And I finally have figured myself out.

[01:32:46] He's Monica.

[01:32:47] And that's why I'm ready to win the prize.

[01:32:50] Lainey Bob.

[01:32:51] What's best for Freddie Prince jr.

[01:32:52] Yes.

[01:32:53] Yes.

[01:32:54] Neat lady.

[01:32:55] And then we see, you know, he has to, you know, a Lannister and a prince always pays

[01:33:01] their debt.

[01:33:01] And so he shows up to graduation and I don't remember these stakes exactly, but I guess

[01:33:07] he said they didn't tell us what the stakes were.

[01:33:10] And so we get to graduation day and here we call all the, all of the, you know, youngsters

[01:33:18] to go and get their diploma.

[01:33:22] I do think that in 2024, this is prosecuted as a sex crime.

[01:33:27] Oh yeah.

[01:33:28] This is, this is, this is, he is going to be a sex off.

[01:33:30] Not in 2025.

[01:33:32] Yeah.

[01:33:34] But here that we see that he stands up at graduation in, you know, his birthday suit.

[01:33:44] Yeah.

[01:33:45] In the buff.

[01:33:45] In the buff.

[01:33:46] Yeah.

[01:33:47] Holding only a soccer ball.

[01:33:49] And then.

[01:33:50] And then.

[01:33:50] Gets rid of the soccer ball.

[01:33:52] Yeah.

[01:33:53] Fully naked.

[01:33:55] Mm hmm.

[01:33:56] And.

[01:33:56] Super pole on main.

[01:33:57] Super pole on main.

[01:33:58] And I have to say.

[01:33:59] Besides my balls.

[01:34:00] Laney Boggs.

[01:34:02] The, the look on her face is happy.

[01:34:06] Kiss me.

[01:34:07] Yeah.

[01:34:09] She's not, she's not horrified.

[01:34:12] Quite the opposite.

[01:34:13] Quite the opposite.

[01:34:14] Yeah.

[01:34:15] Yeah.

[01:34:16] Yeah.

[01:34:18] Yeah.

[01:34:21] Yeah.

[01:34:23] So there you go.

[01:34:25] Yeah.

[01:34:25] This is insane.

[01:34:26] You know, like this is the, this is a very, like Josh was saying, there's a lot of

[01:34:29] things that just identifies that this is a nineties movie.

[01:34:33] Yeah.

[01:34:33] This is one of the most nineties things ever, you know, like these, first of all, high

[01:34:36] school kids just drinking and living their life, having parties and stuff like that

[01:34:39] is very nineties.

[01:34:40] But then the idea that you could just be naked and nobody care.

[01:34:43] That's an all.

[01:34:45] That was also survivor in the year 2000.

[01:34:48] Yeah.

[01:34:49] You can tell this is a really a sign of the times.

[01:34:51] The winner was frequently naked.

[01:34:54] Uh, so I'm telling you whoever is Freddie Prince jr.

[01:34:57] On survivor 47 is winning this thing.

[01:34:59] Got to drop trial.

[01:35:00] There you go.

[01:35:01] Whoever whips it out.

[01:35:02] Yeah.

[01:35:03] All right.

[01:35:04] Uh, and that's, she's all that incredible.

[01:35:07] By, by way of survivor 47.

[01:35:09] Yeah.

[01:35:10] Which is insane that we just did that.

[01:35:12] I do want to go and plant our flag and say that was crazy.

[01:35:14] That was crazy.

[01:35:14] I had a great time.

[01:35:15] This was a wonderful podcast.

[01:35:18] Insane.

[01:35:18] Yeah.

[01:35:18] Great time.

[01:35:19] Okay.

[01:35:20] All right.

[01:35:20] Uh, Chappelle next on nothing but Netflix.

[01:35:24] I'm just trying to see, uh, what canonical.

[01:35:27] Are we going to do a real nothing but Netflix episode?

[01:35:28] Or is this just like this week's nothing but Netflix?

[01:35:31] Okay.

[01:35:31] Cause I feel like a non survivor, nothing but Netflix listeners are like, what?

[01:35:35] Mm hmm.

[01:35:36] Who, who's baby Andy?

[01:35:37] Is he a child?

[01:35:38] No, this was, this was, this was for everybody.

[01:35:41] Okay.

[01:35:41] All right.

[01:35:42] Um, those people should go watch survivor 47.

[01:35:45] It's a great season.

[01:35:46] It's ridiculous.

[01:35:47] All right.

[01:35:48] Survivor is at least.

[01:35:49] Let's see.

[01:35:50] Uh, anything else that's, uh, on, on your, uh, radar for what's coming up on nothing but

[01:35:56] Netflix?

[01:35:57] Listen, we got the king of the, we know scripted RHAP stuff here.

[01:36:01] Uh, Josh, have you been keeping up with what Netflix has coming up soon?

[01:36:07] What's coming to Netflix?

[01:36:08] We've got some holiday films that are already, uh, in the mix.

[01:36:14] Yeah.

[01:36:14] Um, I believe, um, I will be talking about meet me next Christmas.

[01:36:18] Meet next Christmas.

[01:36:19] Okay.

[01:36:19] That's already number one.

[01:36:20] Yeah.

[01:36:21] Yeah.

[01:36:21] That'll be a recap kickback episode for next week.

[01:36:23] By the way, we also talked about time cut already.

[01:36:26] Uh, be sure to check that out.

[01:36:28] Hot and frosty.

[01:36:31] Mm.

[01:36:31] Is coming to Netflix.

[01:36:33] With an eye.

[01:36:34] No.

[01:36:34] Yeah.

[01:36:36] Keep it going.

[01:36:37] Run it off.

[01:36:38] It's a Mariah Carey, uh, special coming to Netflix.

[01:36:42] Interesting.

[01:36:43] Interesting.

[01:36:43] Okay.

[01:36:44] So maybe you just, uh, and then also, uh,

[01:36:49] Jake Paul versus Mike Tyson is still coming this November.

[01:36:53] Oh, good.

[01:36:54] Sign of the times.

[01:36:57] Yeah.

[01:36:58] Have you guys done Detroiters yet?

[01:37:00] No.

[01:37:00] Got to do Detroiters.

[01:37:02] Detroiters hit Netflix, Tim Robinson, Sam Richardson.

[01:37:06] It's got all the, I think you should leave sensibilities.

[01:37:10] Uh, except it's dramatized.

[01:37:11] Now that having been said, if you want to, uh, Brendan Fitzpatrick, Zach Brooks movie ladder, this thing, uh, the fast and the furious, too fast, too furious, the fast and furious, Tokyo drift, fast and furious, fast five are all hitting Netflix on November 12th.

[01:37:29] Mm hmm.

[01:37:29] Yeah.

[01:37:30] I think I'm good.

[01:37:31] I've, I've done all my fast and furious is okay.

[01:37:35] All right.

[01:37:36] But we'll keep you posted.

[01:37:38] I'm interested in hot frosty.

[01:37:39] I want to know about hot frosty, hot frosty.

[01:37:41] Yeah.

[01:37:42] Okay.

[01:37:42] Yeah.

[01:37:44] All right.

[01:37:45] So Josh, what's coming up for you?

[01:37:47] Lots going on here.

[01:37:49] Uh, cause of course we know reality TV, but here on our JP, we know scripted TV to Rob Cessonino.

[01:37:56] Uh, and one of the things that we know is severance, the Apple TV plus mystery series that is returning for its second season in January of 2025, nearly three full years after the show initially premiered was the show I think of 2022.

[01:38:17] For a lot of people and we'll be coming back January, 2025.

[01:38:20] One thing to look forward to about that month for sure.

[01:38:23] Uh, and you don't have to wait that long because we're already talking about severance over at we know TV.

[01:38:29] I've gotten the band back together of myself, Dr.

[01:38:32] Amanda and Dr.

[01:38:33] Melissa to talk about severance.

[01:38:35] We're doing a weekly rewatch of season one.

[01:38:39] It is spoiler light.
