Know-It-Alls: Survivor 47 Ep 4

Rob and Stephen break down episode 4 of Survivor 47.

[00:00:03] [SPEAKER_02]: The smartest guys around, are about to break it down, like they've won the game a million times

[00:00:14] [SPEAKER_02]: This is Survivor.

[00:00:32] [SPEAKER_01]: Hey, the Survivor know-it-alls are back after another exciting episode. Excited to talk about it here with Stephen Fishback. Stephen, how are you?

[00:00:59] [SPEAKER_01]: Oh, hold on, hold on. I muted you in the theme song. It was a wish fulfillment. Sorry.

[00:01:04] [SPEAKER_04]: Stephen, please. I'm great. And if the Lord is willing, we will have many, many years ahead of us of podcasting together.

[00:01:12] [SPEAKER_01]: Oh, wow. Okay. I've never heard you so bullish on the podcast before.

[00:01:15] [SPEAKER_01]: Well, listen, you know, two 45 year olds, you know, we might have some years ahead of us.

[00:01:20] [SPEAKER_01]: Yes. Look, we're not in a wheelchair. We don't have a cane. We're out here still podcasting.

[00:01:26] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah. Yeah. Oh, what a night to quote the Four Seasons.

[00:01:31] [SPEAKER_04]: Mm-hmm. Total landscaping.

[00:01:33] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah. Four Seasons of Landscaping. That's right.

[00:01:35] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah. Okay. Yeah. So, very exciting episode. Yeah. You texted me like, wow, what a great episode.

[00:01:41] [SPEAKER_01]: So, can't wait to get into it here with you. We will take your questions as well. So, go ahead and post them in the chat.

[00:01:49] [SPEAKER_01]: At a big Friday coming up, I'll be doing the patron Q&A. We've been having such a great response for the patron call-in shows on Fridays.

[00:01:58] [SPEAKER_01]: I'll be live at 3 p.m. That there was so many people calling in for the patron Q&A.

[00:02:05] [SPEAKER_01]: I was a couple minutes late. I couldn't get in. The room was too full. It was like, eh, room limit. You know, 15 people are on hold already. Rob, you can't get in.

[00:02:15] [SPEAKER_04]: Wow. What makes a good question at the patron Q&A? Like, what makes a particular, like, what are the key parts of a successful?

[00:02:23] [SPEAKER_01]: I think just something that I haven't thought about, something that hasn't come up on the podcast.

[00:02:26] [SPEAKER_01]: That has to be pretty easy. You haven't thought about it.

[00:02:28] [SPEAKER_01]: Oh, Steven. I mean, this is, you know, no small feat to come up with new things to talk about.

[00:02:34] [SPEAKER_01]: I mean, this one's a little bit easy because I can really rely on that what you think about things.

[00:02:40] [SPEAKER_01]: But, you know, I'm always trying to come up with new angles to talk about these episodes on the podcast.

[00:02:44] [SPEAKER_04]: Wow. Yeah. Well, speaking of angles, this one had a lot of them.

[00:02:49] [SPEAKER_01]: Okay, let me just finish live 3 p.m. for the patrons. That link is going to go out tonight.

[00:02:55] [SPEAKER_01]: Go to robinswebs.com slash patron.

[00:02:58] [SPEAKER_01]: And then, Steven, next week we are going to be doing our live show in New York City on October 16th.

[00:03:05] [SPEAKER_01]: So we will have a live show coming to you.

[00:03:08] [SPEAKER_01]: Can't wait to see so many of you there.

[00:03:10] [SPEAKER_01]: We'll have a special patron meetup coming up on Tuesday night.

[00:03:13] [SPEAKER_01]: And then because of my traveling home, Steven and I will be with you on Friday next week.

[00:03:19] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah. And speaking of Friday, that's tomorrow,

[00:03:22] [SPEAKER_04]: which is exactly what happened on the show last night.

[00:03:27] [SPEAKER_04]: I'm really into bad transitions.

[00:03:28] [SPEAKER_04]: Yes, yes, yes.

[00:03:30] [SPEAKER_04]: Was it Friday that this episode happened?

[00:03:33] [SPEAKER_04]: Well, Friday is tomorrow.

[00:03:35] [SPEAKER_04]: And today is tomorrow compared to yesterday when Survivor aired,

[00:03:38] [SPEAKER_04]: which was a great episode of television.

[00:03:42] [SPEAKER_04]: And here's what was so great about it.

[00:03:44] [SPEAKER_04]: Okay.

[00:03:44] [SPEAKER_04]: These 90 minute episodes are sublime because we go into this tribal council knowing not one,

[00:03:50] [SPEAKER_04]: not two, not four, but three separate plans.

[00:03:54] [SPEAKER_04]: And we understand the rationale behind each and every plan.

[00:03:58] [SPEAKER_04]: We see the challenges of the plan.

[00:04:02] [SPEAKER_04]: You know, why maybe Rome and Genevieve don't want to vote out Saul.

[00:04:06] [SPEAKER_04]: We see why maybe Rome and Saul don't want to vote out Keyshawn.

[00:04:11] [SPEAKER_04]: Keyshawn.

[00:04:11] [SPEAKER_04]: And then we have, you know, what is this plan?

[00:04:15] [SPEAKER_04]: Which plan is going to come into fruition?

[00:04:17] [SPEAKER_04]: We don't know.

[00:04:18] [SPEAKER_04]: And yet when it happens, it feels like such a beautiful, perfect ending.

[00:04:23] [SPEAKER_04]: And what was also great about this episode, Rob, that I love so much was that,

[00:04:27] [SPEAKER_04]: first of all, we see so much interesting social play.

[00:04:30] [SPEAKER_04]: And there was also like really smart, thoughtful advantage play, you know,

[00:04:34] [SPEAKER_04]: like the advantage created this interesting dynamic around which the strategy kind of,

[00:04:40] [SPEAKER_04]: you know, rotated.

[00:04:41] [SPEAKER_04]: So, I mean, it was everything you can want out of a Survivor episode,

[00:04:45] [SPEAKER_04]: like all of the components coming together.

[00:04:47] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.

[00:04:47] [SPEAKER_01]: Great episode of Survivor for sure.

[00:04:50] [SPEAKER_01]: Best of the season.

[00:04:50] [SPEAKER_01]: Now, Stephen, where do you want to start with discussing the events of the Lavo Tribal Council?

[00:04:56] [SPEAKER_04]: Well, I mean, I think we have to start.

[00:04:59] [SPEAKER_04]: I kind of like the like, oh, gosh, there's so many places to start.

[00:05:03] [SPEAKER_04]: I mean, what do you think?

[00:05:04] [SPEAKER_01]: I mean, I guess I would love to start with the emergence of Genevieve.

[00:05:09] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.

[00:05:10] [SPEAKER_04]: Genevieve, who, you know, was notoriously under edited,

[00:05:13] [SPEAKER_04]: now sort of has this like big moment of, you know,

[00:05:17] [SPEAKER_04]: moment of coming about, like realizing.

[00:05:20] [SPEAKER_04]: The moment.

[00:05:20] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.

[00:05:22] [SPEAKER_04]: Of realizing that if Keyshawn was willing to throw out her name as the decoy boot,

[00:05:29] [SPEAKER_04]: and we've certainly talked before about how you never, you know,

[00:05:31] [SPEAKER_04]: you never want to be the decoy boot,

[00:05:33] [SPEAKER_04]: and then you should never be cavalier about making the decoy boot,

[00:05:36] [SPEAKER_04]: because it always puts their hackles up.

[00:05:38] [SPEAKER_01]: Now, if I may just push back against the narrative from the show,

[00:05:42] [SPEAKER_01]: Keyshawn in his exit press today really tried to downplay that.

[00:05:47] [SPEAKER_01]: I really don't think it was necessarily that, you know,

[00:05:51] [SPEAKER_01]: she heard her name in that.

[00:05:54] [SPEAKER_01]: He was pushing back against that and saying that he felt like it was more.

[00:05:58] [SPEAKER_01]: She realized that this was his move.

[00:06:00] [SPEAKER_01]: The last vote was his move and that he was the person who was really,

[00:06:06] [SPEAKER_01]: you know, going to be getting more of the credit and a real player,

[00:06:09] [SPEAKER_01]: more so than it was a mistake on his part to mention her name.

[00:06:14] [SPEAKER_04]: Well, if I've learned something from listening to the exits,

[00:06:16] [SPEAKER_04]: it's never any of their mistakes.

[00:06:18] [SPEAKER_04]: None of them made mistakes.

[00:06:19] [SPEAKER_04]: It was all the other players around them making mistakes.

[00:06:23] [SPEAKER_04]: But, but I mean, there's probably something to that, you know,

[00:06:26] [SPEAKER_04]: that part of it is not just feeling like.

[00:06:29] [SPEAKER_01]: Can I ask you then that it is that enough based off of that alone?

[00:06:34] [SPEAKER_01]: Was it enough for Genevieve to say like, oh,

[00:06:36] [SPEAKER_01]: if Keyshawn is telling Saul that in the fake plan,

[00:06:42] [SPEAKER_01]: we're telling Rome to tell Saul, even though,

[00:06:45] [SPEAKER_01]: even though Keyshawn is working with, with Genevieve to vote out Rome,

[00:06:49] [SPEAKER_01]: the fact that he sold to Rome,

[00:06:53] [SPEAKER_01]: that they're telling Saul to vote for Genevieve.

[00:06:56] [SPEAKER_01]: Is that enough to vote out Keyshawn?

[00:06:58] [SPEAKER_04]: Well, so I do think that there's probably some,

[00:07:00] [SPEAKER_04]: some element of truth to what he was saying in his exits about,

[00:07:04] [SPEAKER_04]: about the sense that he's this, you know, moving,

[00:07:07] [SPEAKER_04]: making too many moves really, like really, right?

[00:07:09] [SPEAKER_04]: Like this, this big player.

[00:07:11] [SPEAKER_04]: And I think my guess is it's a combination of things, right?

[00:07:14] [SPEAKER_04]: Like, first of all, he, he, they make a big move last, last week,

[00:07:18] [SPEAKER_04]: or maybe that wasn't considered a big move.

[00:07:20] [SPEAKER_04]: I don't know.

[00:07:20] [SPEAKER_04]: But, and then this week they tacked back and now they're blindsiding Rome,

[00:07:24] [SPEAKER_04]: who was, you know, Genevieve's number one ally.

[00:07:26] [SPEAKER_04]: Like I would be worried if I were Genevieve about being on,

[00:07:29] [SPEAKER_04]: you know, sort of stuck at the mercy of, you know,

[00:07:33] [SPEAKER_04]: my number one ally.

[00:07:34] [SPEAKER_04]: And again, like we've heard over and over how close they were.

[00:07:36] [SPEAKER_04]: And then sort of stuck at the mercy of this, of this duo.

[00:07:38] [SPEAKER_04]: And especially Keyshawn, who's like willing to turn on allies,

[00:07:41] [SPEAKER_04]: willing to like upend things, you know, back to back, you know,

[00:07:45] [SPEAKER_04]: what, why are you putting trust in that person more?

[00:07:48] [SPEAKER_04]: If they are showing that they're not going to reciprocate that trust.

[00:07:51] [SPEAKER_04]: And that was why I thought it was such like a,

[00:07:54] [SPEAKER_04]: like a nice touching moment when Rome was said,

[00:07:57] [SPEAKER_04]: but I'm doing everything for the Alliance.

[00:07:58] [SPEAKER_04]: And he really has been, you know, he's really been so Alliance focused.

[00:08:01] [SPEAKER_04]: It's never about himself.

[00:08:02] [SPEAKER_04]: He shares all his information with the Alliance.

[00:08:03] [SPEAKER_04]: Anyway, that's, that's, that's it.

[00:08:05] [SPEAKER_04]: That said, like, I do think it's worth it.

[00:08:07] [SPEAKER_04]: I think if someone is willing to make you the decoy boot,

[00:08:10] [SPEAKER_04]: even in the fake plan, well, that's what the decoy boot is.

[00:08:12] [SPEAKER_04]: It's the fake plan.

[00:08:14] [SPEAKER_04]: That is, that's worrisome because it shows that they're not,

[00:08:19] [SPEAKER_04]: you know, they're, you are in a way disposable to their plans.

[00:08:21] [SPEAKER_04]: If the thing blows up,

[00:08:23] [SPEAKER_04]: if Rome played immunity idol that he found out of nowhere,

[00:08:26] [SPEAKER_04]: if he played a shot in the dark, you're the one going home.

[00:08:29] [SPEAKER_04]: Keyshawn's not offering himself as the, as the decoy boot, you know,

[00:08:32] [SPEAKER_04]: and in fact, he made such a big thing about the fact that, Hey,

[00:08:35] [SPEAKER_04]: my name's not even out there at all.

[00:08:36] [SPEAKER_04]: And like,

[00:08:37] [SPEAKER_04]: I'm feeling really good because nobody's targeting me.

[00:08:39] [SPEAKER_04]: Genevieve doesn't have that luxury.

[00:08:40] [SPEAKER_04]: She doesn't feel that comfort because in fact,

[00:08:42] [SPEAKER_04]: Keyshawn is targeting her.

[00:08:45] [SPEAKER_01]: Well, in, in reality,

[00:08:46] [SPEAKER_01]: no one was going to be writing her name again.

[00:08:49] [SPEAKER_01]: That was in a fake plan that they were selling to Rome.

[00:08:52] [SPEAKER_01]: That Saul was not actually writing Genevieve's name down.

[00:08:55] [SPEAKER_01]: That was not actually the,

[00:08:56] [SPEAKER_01]: this was all a ruse to vote out Rome.

[00:08:59] [SPEAKER_01]: But, but I do think that for Genevieve,

[00:09:02] [SPEAKER_01]: Rome would be writing down Genevieve's name, right?

[00:09:05] [SPEAKER_01]: I don't think that Rome was voting out Genevieve.

[00:09:08] [SPEAKER_01]: I think Rome was going into thinking that they were going to dupe Saul into like,

[00:09:12] [SPEAKER_01]: give me your shot in the dark.

[00:09:13] [SPEAKER_01]: And then he, and then Rome's going to vote out Saul.

[00:09:14] [SPEAKER_04]: Rome's mind.

[00:09:15] [SPEAKER_04]: No, I hear you.

[00:09:15] [SPEAKER_04]: I hear you.

[00:09:16] [SPEAKER_04]: But in Rome's mind, Saul is writing Genevieve.

[00:09:18] [SPEAKER_04]: I mean, that's a, that's a fair point.

[00:09:19] [SPEAKER_04]: That's a fair clarification that like,

[00:09:21] [SPEAKER_04]: there's no person who is actually supposed to be writing down Genevieve's name,

[00:09:25] [SPEAKER_04]: but, but even so.

[00:09:26] [SPEAKER_04]: So I want to know for you,

[00:09:27] [SPEAKER_01]: do you think that Genevieve is playing with fire?

[00:09:29] [SPEAKER_01]: Because again, this is an interesting decision that, you know,

[00:09:32] [SPEAKER_01]: she has sort of like these more like stable decision makers in Keyshawn,

[00:09:38] [SPEAKER_01]: in Saul that are players that are probably, you know,

[00:09:43] [SPEAKER_01]: probably more reasonable than Rome,

[00:09:45] [SPEAKER_01]: who is, you know, a flawed player,

[00:09:49] [SPEAKER_01]: but a loyal flawed player.

[00:09:52] [SPEAKER_01]: And that's her number one.

[00:09:54] [SPEAKER_01]: She's going to stick,

[00:09:55] [SPEAKER_01]: or at least that in Rome's mind,

[00:09:57] [SPEAKER_01]: that's his number one.

[00:09:58] [SPEAKER_01]: Maybe Genevieve might be a little bit more fluid with maybe where her number one is ultimately,

[00:10:03] [SPEAKER_01]: but it is Genevieve playing with fire.

[00:10:06] [SPEAKER_01]: In the same way that we saw like Tiffany and Kenzie working with Q.

[00:10:11] [SPEAKER_01]: Okay.

[00:10:11] [SPEAKER_01]: We're going to,

[00:10:12] [SPEAKER_01]: I'm going to stick with him.

[00:10:13] [SPEAKER_01]: And then not to say that Q and Rome are,

[00:10:15] [SPEAKER_01]: are the same,

[00:10:16] [SPEAKER_01]: like they're different in a lot of ways,

[00:10:18] [SPEAKER_01]: but ultimately Q comes around and says,

[00:10:22] [SPEAKER_01]: Hey,

[00:10:23] [SPEAKER_01]: Tiffany's not with the six.

[00:10:24] [SPEAKER_01]: Like,

[00:10:24] [SPEAKER_01]: Hey everybody,

[00:10:25] [SPEAKER_01]: let's,

[00:10:25] [SPEAKER_01]: I'm going to turn on my number one in Tiffany and gets a bunch of people to try to write down Tiffany's name.

[00:10:33] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.

[00:10:34] [SPEAKER_04]: So what,

[00:10:35] [SPEAKER_04]: sorry,

[00:10:36] [SPEAKER_04]: what are you saying?

[00:10:36] [SPEAKER_04]: What's the Q comparison?

[00:10:37] [SPEAKER_04]: I'm missing.

[00:10:38] [SPEAKER_01]: I'm asking,

[00:10:39] [SPEAKER_01]: is Genevieve playing with fire to a degree in that?

[00:10:41] [SPEAKER_01]: How far can she go with Rome?

[00:10:44] [SPEAKER_01]: Where?

[00:10:44] [SPEAKER_01]: Okay.

[00:10:44] [SPEAKER_04]: I mean,

[00:10:45] [SPEAKER_04]: I think my choice for her to be honest,

[00:10:47] [SPEAKER_04]: because first of all,

[00:10:48] [SPEAKER_04]: she knows Rome is loyal to her.

[00:10:50] [SPEAKER_04]: And again,

[00:10:50] [SPEAKER_04]: like that was Rome's biggest objection.

[00:10:52] [SPEAKER_04]: Like we've got this core four.

[00:10:53] [SPEAKER_04]: Why are we blowing it up?

[00:10:55] [SPEAKER_04]: You know?

[00:10:56] [SPEAKER_04]: And she's just kind of created this thing with Saul out of the gate.

[00:10:59] [SPEAKER_04]: So if I'm Genevieve in that group and I'm seeing Keyshawn,

[00:11:01] [SPEAKER_04]: like first at this thing with Asia turned on her now is like turning on Rome,

[00:11:06] [SPEAKER_04]: who was supposed to be before they have this like very straightforward vote and is throwing out her name,

[00:11:11] [SPEAKER_04]: just like as any kind of target.

[00:11:14] [SPEAKER_04]: I'm thinking like,

[00:11:15] [SPEAKER_04]: well,

[00:11:15] [SPEAKER_04]: I'm disposable to him,

[00:11:17] [SPEAKER_04]: but I'm essential to these other two people.

[00:11:19] [SPEAKER_04]: You know,

[00:11:20] [SPEAKER_04]: yes,

[00:11:21] [SPEAKER_04]: Rome is flamboyant,

[00:11:22] [SPEAKER_04]: but like that makes him a target that attracts attention to him.

[00:11:26] [SPEAKER_04]: So,

[00:11:27] [SPEAKER_04]: you know,

[00:11:27] [SPEAKER_04]: and she did have that confessional,

[00:11:28] [SPEAKER_04]: you know,

[00:11:28] [SPEAKER_04]: is there a point where I defend Rome so much that the target then becomes on,

[00:11:33] [SPEAKER_04]: comes on me.

[00:11:34] [SPEAKER_04]: But,

[00:11:35] [SPEAKER_04]: you know,

[00:11:35] [SPEAKER_04]: now that she has this thing with Saul,

[00:11:37] [SPEAKER_04]: I would,

[00:11:37] [SPEAKER_04]: I would feel like she's putting herself in a great spot.

[00:11:39] [SPEAKER_04]: She's at the center of the tribe.

[00:11:41] [SPEAKER_04]: She has two allies,

[00:11:42] [SPEAKER_04]: both of whom are loyal to her,

[00:11:44] [SPEAKER_04]: but,

[00:11:45] [SPEAKER_04]: you know,

[00:11:45] [SPEAKER_04]: who can't stand each other,

[00:11:46] [SPEAKER_04]: which has its virtues,

[00:11:48] [SPEAKER_04]: right?

[00:11:48] [SPEAKER_04]: Like if they turn on each other,

[00:11:49] [SPEAKER_04]: they're going to be turning on each other first.

[00:11:51] [SPEAKER_04]: And they're both big targets.

[00:11:52] [SPEAKER_04]: Like Rome is a big target because of his flamboyant personality.

[00:11:55] [SPEAKER_04]: Saul is literally a big target.

[00:11:57] [SPEAKER_04]: And so I feel like it's actually a really good spot for her.

[00:12:00] [SPEAKER_04]: I mean,

[00:12:01] [SPEAKER_04]: we'll actually be voted out next week,

[00:12:02] [SPEAKER_04]: but like,

[00:12:02] [SPEAKER_04]: it is a really good,

[00:12:04] [SPEAKER_04]: I mean,

[00:12:04] [SPEAKER_04]: and,

[00:12:04] [SPEAKER_04]: and again,

[00:12:05] [SPEAKER_04]: like Keyshawn,

[00:12:06] [SPEAKER_04]: the guy who's just making all these moves,

[00:12:09] [SPEAKER_04]: I would be,

[00:12:10] [SPEAKER_04]: I would be nervous about him.

[00:12:12] [SPEAKER_04]: You know,

[00:12:12] [SPEAKER_04]: like your,

[00:12:12] [SPEAKER_04]: your last,

[00:12:13] [SPEAKER_04]: it's like,

[00:12:14] [SPEAKER_04]: you got to stick with a group at least for a couple of votes to build up trust.

[00:12:17] [SPEAKER_04]: Like the people who turn on the group and then turn on the group again,

[00:12:20] [SPEAKER_04]: and then turn on the group,

[00:12:20] [SPEAKER_04]: it becomes,

[00:12:22] [SPEAKER_04]: you know,

[00:12:23] [SPEAKER_04]: you can't trust those.

[00:12:24] [SPEAKER_04]: You really just can't trust those people.

[00:12:26] [SPEAKER_04]: And I,

[00:12:26] [SPEAKER_04]: I mean,

[00:12:27] [SPEAKER_04]: I get that some of the narrative of this episode,

[00:12:30] [SPEAKER_04]: it was that Rome was like,

[00:12:32] [SPEAKER_04]: he had passed,

[00:12:34] [SPEAKER_04]: he had passed what they thought was like a human marker.

[00:12:36] [SPEAKER_04]: Like,

[00:12:36] [SPEAKER_04]: like he had passed sort of like a,

[00:12:39] [SPEAKER_04]: I don't know,

[00:12:40] [SPEAKER_04]: like a point of like behavior that they felt was acceptable.

[00:12:42] [SPEAKER_04]: And they kind of had reached the point of saying like,

[00:12:44] [SPEAKER_04]: we don't want to be playing with this person.

[00:12:45] [SPEAKER_04]: Like he's not treating Saul kindly.

[00:12:48] [SPEAKER_04]: And so like,

[00:12:50] [SPEAKER_04]: we can take him out.

[00:12:51] [SPEAKER_04]: We,

[00:12:51] [SPEAKER_04]: we like Saul.

[00:12:52] [SPEAKER_04]: We don't feel like Rome is like treating him respectfully.

[00:12:55] [SPEAKER_04]: This is a,

[00:12:55] [SPEAKER_04]: this is an opportunity for us to do that.

[00:12:57] [SPEAKER_04]: Even so it did feel kind of,

[00:12:59] [SPEAKER_04]: you know,

[00:13:00] [SPEAKER_04]: there was a glee,

[00:13:01] [SPEAKER_04]: there was a glee,

[00:13:01] [SPEAKER_04]: right?

[00:13:02] [SPEAKER_04]: And the way Keyshawn was doing it.

[00:13:03] [SPEAKER_04]: I thought it was Keyshawn's big coming out episode is like,

[00:13:06] [SPEAKER_04]: I mean,

[00:13:07] [SPEAKER_04]: that Genevieve stole it from him.

[00:13:08] [SPEAKER_01]: Keyshawn is like getting all into like his mustache twirly ways.

[00:13:13] [SPEAKER_01]: And he's like,

[00:13:14] [SPEAKER_01]: okay,

[00:13:14] [SPEAKER_01]: here comes Keyshawn.

[00:13:15] [SPEAKER_01]: And then easy come,

[00:13:16] [SPEAKER_01]: easy go.

[00:13:17] [SPEAKER_01]: Now I think that Genevieve did make a very smart play in the episode.

[00:13:21] [SPEAKER_01]: I do wonder though,

[00:13:23] [SPEAKER_01]: that did she go too far down the road of voting out Rome to be able to do the

[00:13:30] [SPEAKER_01]: U-turn and double back in,

[00:13:32] [SPEAKER_01]: in Saul and teeny?

[00:13:34] [SPEAKER_01]: Do they know enough information to potentially bury Genevieve with Rome?

[00:13:41] [SPEAKER_01]: Does he know any information?

[00:13:43] [SPEAKER_01]: Like I think he knows that the plan tonight is going to be that Rome is going to

[00:13:46] [SPEAKER_01]: get voted out.

[00:13:47] [SPEAKER_01]: And that now,

[00:13:49] [SPEAKER_01]: uh,

[00:13:49] [SPEAKER_01]: teeny was blindsided with Keyshawn in all of that.

[00:13:52] [SPEAKER_01]: So maybe that they,

[00:13:53] [SPEAKER_01]: there's some plausible deniability,

[00:13:55] [SPEAKER_01]: but Saul knows a lot.

[00:13:57] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.

[00:13:58] [SPEAKER_04]: Um,

[00:13:59] [SPEAKER_04]: I,

[00:13:59] [SPEAKER_04]: I mean,

[00:14:01] [SPEAKER_04]: I hear you,

[00:14:02] [SPEAKER_04]: but ultimately Genevieve was the one who saved Rome and was the one who,

[00:14:06] [SPEAKER_04]: you know,

[00:14:07] [SPEAKER_04]: stopped the plan.

[00:14:08] [SPEAKER_04]: Um,

[00:14:09] [SPEAKER_04]: I would,

[00:14:10] [SPEAKER_04]: you know,

[00:14:10] [SPEAKER_04]: much rather have that person than the people who were spiriting the plan.

[00:14:13] [SPEAKER_04]: And it was incredible.

[00:14:14] [SPEAKER_04]: Like what was such a great,

[00:14:16] [SPEAKER_04]: what's so great about this was that she,

[00:14:17] [SPEAKER_04]: there was just the way the episode built up,

[00:14:20] [SPEAKER_04]: this deep personal antagonism between Saul and Rome.

[00:14:25] [SPEAKER_04]: And then that is the hinge on which this whole plan depends.

[00:14:28] [SPEAKER_04]: Can these two people who dislike each other so much,

[00:14:31] [SPEAKER_04]: especially Saul disliking Rome,

[00:14:33] [SPEAKER_04]: you know,

[00:14:33] [SPEAKER_04]: on this like deeply personal level,

[00:14:35] [SPEAKER_04]: like,

[00:14:35] [SPEAKER_04]: are they able to put it aside for the strategic vote?

[00:14:38] [SPEAKER_04]: I mean,

[00:14:38] [SPEAKER_04]: it's just such a great question.

[00:14:40] [SPEAKER_04]: It's like the fundamental survivor question.

[00:14:41] [SPEAKER_04]: Like,

[00:14:42] [SPEAKER_04]: like where does the,

[00:14:43] [SPEAKER_04]: you know,

[00:14:43] [SPEAKER_04]: where does the,

[00:14:44] [SPEAKER_04]: where is the line?

[00:14:44] [SPEAKER_04]: Like how much do you value,

[00:14:46] [SPEAKER_04]: you know,

[00:14:46] [SPEAKER_04]: a temporary strategic or,

[00:14:48] [SPEAKER_04]: you know,

[00:14:48] [SPEAKER_04]: your personal connections and your personal feelings versus your strategic

[00:14:51] [SPEAKER_04]: feelings.

[00:14:51] [SPEAKER_04]: And what was so cool about it was that the episode started with that

[00:14:55] [SPEAKER_04]: question,

[00:14:55] [SPEAKER_04]: you know,

[00:14:56] [SPEAKER_04]: with teeny and Saul talking by the well,

[00:14:59] [SPEAKER_04]: where Saul said,

[00:15:00] [SPEAKER_04]: you know,

[00:15:00] [SPEAKER_04]: like,

[00:15:01] [SPEAKER_04]: Hey,

[00:15:01] [SPEAKER_04]: teeny has this like big moral dilemma.

[00:15:03] [SPEAKER_04]: Like I made a choice that I'm not personally comfortable with.

[00:15:06] [SPEAKER_04]: And Saul says,

[00:15:06] [SPEAKER_04]: Hey,

[00:15:06] [SPEAKER_04]: this is a game.

[00:15:07] [SPEAKER_04]: You can't let that personal stuff,

[00:15:08] [SPEAKER_04]: you know,

[00:15:09] [SPEAKER_04]: get,

[00:15:09] [SPEAKER_04]: get,

[00:15:09] [SPEAKER_04]: get in the way.

[00:15:10] [SPEAKER_04]: Um,

[00:15:10] [SPEAKER_04]: and then that ultimately is his decision at the end.

[00:15:14] [SPEAKER_04]: Like,

[00:15:14] [SPEAKER_04]: do I let the personal stuff get in the way?

[00:15:16] [SPEAKER_04]: And he ultimately chooses to,

[00:15:17] [SPEAKER_04]: to make it a game.

[00:15:18] [SPEAKER_04]: I was just like such a,

[00:15:18] [SPEAKER_04]: such a perfect structure.

[00:15:20] [SPEAKER_04]: Now I saw a lot of people online who were saying about Keyshawn,

[00:15:24] [SPEAKER_04]: like,

[00:15:25] [SPEAKER_04]: Hey,

[00:15:25] [SPEAKER_04]: you know,

[00:15:26] [SPEAKER_04]: you,

[00:15:27] [SPEAKER_04]: now you reap the whirlwind,

[00:15:28] [SPEAKER_04]: right?

[00:15:28] [SPEAKER_04]: Like you sowed the winds.

[00:15:30] [SPEAKER_04]: Now you reap,

[00:15:30] [SPEAKER_04]: is that the,

[00:15:30] [SPEAKER_04]: the,

[00:15:31] [SPEAKER_04]: I mean,

[00:15:31] [SPEAKER_04]: you're asking me.

[00:15:34] [SPEAKER_04]: Anyway,

[00:15:35] [SPEAKER_04]: what you sow,

[00:15:36] [SPEAKER_04]: we put you.

[00:15:37] [SPEAKER_04]: So,

[00:15:37] [SPEAKER_04]: and he sowed,

[00:15:38] [SPEAKER_04]: you know,

[00:15:39] [SPEAKER_04]: chaos.

[00:15:40] [SPEAKER_04]: Well,

[00:15:40] [SPEAKER_04]: I mean,

[00:15:40] [SPEAKER_04]: we're not necessarily a chaotic player,

[00:15:43] [SPEAKER_04]: but you know,

[00:15:44] [SPEAKER_04]: instead,

[00:15:44] [SPEAKER_04]: you know,

[00:15:44] [SPEAKER_04]: he,

[00:15:45] [SPEAKER_04]: he chose to vote out Asia last week and now,

[00:15:48] [SPEAKER_04]: you know,

[00:15:48] [SPEAKER_04]: he's got this sort of very chaotic tribe dynamic that ended up hurting him.

[00:15:54] [SPEAKER_04]: Like,

[00:15:55] [SPEAKER_04]: is there any merit to that?

[00:15:57] [SPEAKER_01]: So are we talking about that?

[00:15:59] [SPEAKER_01]: Keyshawn chose to be super chaotic in,

[00:16:02] [SPEAKER_01]: uh,

[00:16:02] [SPEAKER_01]: this week's episode and then ultimately came back around on him or he chose to

[00:16:06] [SPEAKER_04]: not work with Asia and establish like that group as the four.

[00:16:10] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.

[00:16:11] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.

[00:16:11] [SPEAKER_04]: So he was,

[00:16:12] [SPEAKER_01]: I,

[00:16:12] [SPEAKER_01]: I think that the edit was a little wonky in terms of like how they presented

[00:16:18] [SPEAKER_01]: this because they,

[00:16:18] [SPEAKER_01]: the edit never really gave us that,

[00:16:21] [SPEAKER_01]: uh,

[00:16:21] [SPEAKER_01]: according to Keyshawn,

[00:16:22] [SPEAKER_01]: that,

[00:16:23] [SPEAKER_01]: uh,

[00:16:23] [SPEAKER_01]: that he really looked at there being an alliance of three,

[00:16:27] [SPEAKER_01]: that he felt like that he had teeny was his number one,

[00:16:30] [SPEAKER_01]: but also he was extremely close with Genevieve.

[00:16:32] [SPEAKER_01]: And so that while like it may have been perceived more of a,

[00:16:36] [SPEAKER_01]: uh,

[00:16:37] [SPEAKER_01]: a two,

[00:16:37] [SPEAKER_01]: two,

[00:16:38] [SPEAKER_01]: two from the Asia and Saul's perspective,

[00:16:40] [SPEAKER_01]: and maybe even from teeny's perspective that I think in Keyshawn's mind that he

[00:16:44] [SPEAKER_01]: felt like,

[00:16:44] [SPEAKER_01]: you know,

[00:16:45] [SPEAKER_01]: I have a three,

[00:16:46] [SPEAKER_01]: I have teeny and I have Genevieve and Genevieve is,

[00:16:49] [SPEAKER_01]: is attached with Rome.

[00:16:51] [SPEAKER_01]: And so that's really,

[00:16:53] [SPEAKER_01]: ideally it would be great if we could just vote out Rome and then we have our

[00:16:56] [SPEAKER_01]: three and then Saul and Asia are two,

[00:16:58] [SPEAKER_01]: but the circumstances just,

[00:17:00] [SPEAKER_01]: uh,

[00:17:01] [SPEAKER_01]: did not dictate that.

[00:17:02] [SPEAKER_01]: So I did ask him specifically,

[00:17:04] [SPEAKER_01]: do you,

[00:17:04] [SPEAKER_01]: do you wish that,

[00:17:05] [SPEAKER_01]: you know,

[00:17:06] [SPEAKER_01]: you could have done things differently last week?

[00:17:08] [SPEAKER_01]: Keyshawn stood by it that he,

[00:17:10] [SPEAKER_01]: uh,

[00:17:10] [SPEAKER_01]: felt like that,

[00:17:10] [SPEAKER_01]: no,

[00:17:11] [SPEAKER_01]: that they still made the right decision last week.

[00:17:14] [SPEAKER_01]: Uh,

[00:17:14] [SPEAKER_01]: that again,

[00:17:15] [SPEAKER_01]: not knowing that Keyshawn and Genevieve have a very tight bond.

[00:17:18] [SPEAKER_01]: I,

[00:17:18] [SPEAKER_01]: I do feel like that for,

[00:17:19] [SPEAKER_01]: if it was up to teeny,

[00:17:21] [SPEAKER_01]: I think that decision would have come up to split the votes,

[00:17:24] [SPEAKER_01]: but for Keyshawn,

[00:17:26] [SPEAKER_01]: he felt like that Genevieve was,

[00:17:28] [SPEAKER_01]: uh,

[00:17:28] [SPEAKER_01]: a very reliable number for him.

[00:17:30] [SPEAKER_01]: Rome was always going to play the idol on himself.

[00:17:33] [SPEAKER_01]: And so he didn't want to lose Genevieve in that spot.

[00:17:35] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.

[00:17:35] [SPEAKER_04]: I mean,

[00:17:35] [SPEAKER_04]: we said last week,

[00:17:36] [SPEAKER_04]: Rob,

[00:17:36] [SPEAKER_04]: that the danger here was that basically Rome,

[00:17:39] [SPEAKER_04]: you know,

[00:17:39] [SPEAKER_04]: in a five person tribe,

[00:17:40] [SPEAKER_04]: Rome's,

[00:17:41] [SPEAKER_04]: you know,

[00:17:42] [SPEAKER_04]: steal a vote becomes in like enormously overpowered.

[00:17:45] [SPEAKER_04]: And that's basically what happened,

[00:17:46] [SPEAKER_04]: right?

[00:17:47] [SPEAKER_04]: Like his steal a vote was entirely determinative of what happened,

[00:17:51] [SPEAKER_04]: uh,

[00:17:51] [SPEAKER_04]: here to the point where with,

[00:17:53] [SPEAKER_04]: with just him and Genevieve,

[00:17:54] [SPEAKER_04]: right?

[00:17:54] [SPEAKER_04]: It didn't really matter what Saul did because teeny couldn't vote.

[00:17:57] [SPEAKER_04]: So where,

[00:17:58] [SPEAKER_04]: you know,

[00:17:59] [SPEAKER_04]: Saul votes for Keyshawn,

[00:18:00] [SPEAKER_04]: but like,

[00:18:01] [SPEAKER_04]: doesn't,

[00:18:01] [SPEAKER_04]: doesn't really affect anything.

[00:18:03] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.

[00:18:03] [SPEAKER_04]: I mean,

[00:18:03] [SPEAKER_04]: um,

[00:18:04] [SPEAKER_04]: and I mean,

[00:18:05] [SPEAKER_04]: you know,

[00:18:06] [SPEAKER_04]: I gotta say,

[00:18:06] [SPEAKER_04]: I gotta give Rome credit here because I think he's playing so

[00:18:10] [SPEAKER_04]: intelligently with his advantages,

[00:18:11] [SPEAKER_04]: you know,

[00:18:12] [SPEAKER_04]: to,

[00:18:12] [SPEAKER_04]: to only go for the one tribal council idol,

[00:18:14] [SPEAKER_04]: lock it up.

[00:18:15] [SPEAKER_04]: I cannot be voted out here.

[00:18:16] [SPEAKER_04]: Then I believe,

[00:18:18] [SPEAKER_04]: and I could be wrong.

[00:18:19] [SPEAKER_04]: I believe this is the first time.

[00:18:21] [SPEAKER_04]: And again,

[00:18:21] [SPEAKER_04]: like maybe I'm wrong here that the steal vote advantage has ever been

[00:18:24] [SPEAKER_04]: used in a decisively like correct way.

[00:18:28] [SPEAKER_04]: Now,

[00:18:28] [SPEAKER_04]: Sarah Lucina,

[00:18:28] [SPEAKER_04]: when she used it,

[00:18:30] [SPEAKER_04]: she wasn't voted out and her target was eliminated,

[00:18:32] [SPEAKER_04]: but she didn't need the steal vote in that point here by playing the

[00:18:36] [SPEAKER_04]: steal vote,

[00:18:36] [SPEAKER_04]: you know,

[00:18:36] [SPEAKER_04]: Rome doesn't necessarily need it because theoretically he has Saul's

[00:18:40] [SPEAKER_04]: vote,

[00:18:40] [SPEAKER_04]: although it forces Saul to vote with him when maybe Saul would not

[00:18:42] [SPEAKER_04]: have.

[00:18:43] [SPEAKER_04]: And he,

[00:18:44] [SPEAKER_04]: um,

[00:18:44] [SPEAKER_04]: you know,

[00:18:45] [SPEAKER_04]: he eliminates the possibility of Keyshawn playing his shot in the

[00:18:48] [SPEAKER_04]: dark.

[00:18:48] [SPEAKER_04]: So he takes this power.

[00:18:51] [SPEAKER_04]: And I think,

[00:18:51] [SPEAKER_04]: you know,

[00:18:52] [SPEAKER_04]: what I really like about Rome is that a lot of people,

[00:18:54] [SPEAKER_04]: when they have these powers,

[00:18:55] [SPEAKER_04]: right,

[00:18:56] [SPEAKER_04]: they get,

[00:18:56] [SPEAKER_04]: and I've certainly been there,

[00:18:57] [SPEAKER_04]: you kind of start projecting forward,

[00:18:59] [SPEAKER_04]: right?

[00:18:59] [SPEAKER_04]: You're like,

[00:18:59] [SPEAKER_04]: I'm going to use this at the final seven and I'm going to like this

[00:19:03] [SPEAKER_04]: huge splashy thing.

[00:19:04] [SPEAKER_04]: And Rome uses it in this very conservative way that I think makes a

[00:19:07] [SPEAKER_04]: lot of sense in this new era.

[00:19:09] [SPEAKER_04]: Um,

[00:19:09] [SPEAKER_04]: to just like,

[00:19:10] [SPEAKER_04]: I've got this thing,

[00:19:11] [SPEAKER_04]: people know about it.

[00:19:12] [SPEAKER_04]: I'm using it now to make sure this vote goes my way and we can

[00:19:15] [SPEAKER_04]: advance one,

[00:19:16] [SPEAKER_04]: one vote and like evolution of strategy here.

[00:19:19] [SPEAKER_04]: Like this is something we've talked about.

[00:19:21] [SPEAKER_04]: I don't think we've actually seen anybody play this way using two

[00:19:25] [SPEAKER_04]: successive advantages in such a conservative fashion,

[00:19:28] [SPEAKER_04]: um,

[00:19:29] [SPEAKER_04]: to absolutely lock up like the votes in,

[00:19:31] [SPEAKER_04]: in their favor.

[00:19:32] [SPEAKER_04]: Um,

[00:19:32] [SPEAKER_04]: I mean,

[00:19:33] [SPEAKER_04]: you gotta give them a lot of credit for that.

[00:19:34] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.

[00:19:34] [SPEAKER_01]: It's interesting.

[00:19:35] [SPEAKER_01]: And I feel like it's sort of a,

[00:19:36] [SPEAKER_01]: um,

[00:19:37] [SPEAKER_01]: advancement of sort of like the Sandra,

[00:19:39] [SPEAKER_01]: anybody,

[00:19:39] [SPEAKER_01]: but me,

[00:19:40] [SPEAKER_01]: uh,

[00:19:41] [SPEAKER_01]: actually,

[00:19:41] [SPEAKER_01]: but this isn't anybody,

[00:19:42] [SPEAKER_01]: but me,

[00:19:43] [SPEAKER_01]: this is like,

[00:19:43] [SPEAKER_01]: I'm going to,

[00:19:44] [SPEAKER_01]: you know,

[00:19:45] [SPEAKER_01]: use everything.

[00:19:46] [SPEAKER_01]: And my,

[00:19:46] [SPEAKER_01]: I'm going to unload everything I have to make sure that,

[00:19:50] [SPEAKER_01]: you know,

[00:19:50] [SPEAKER_01]: my agenda advances on this particular day.

[00:19:54] [SPEAKER_01]: And so,

[00:19:55] [SPEAKER_01]: and for,

[00:19:56] [SPEAKER_01]: if you're Rome,

[00:19:56] [SPEAKER_01]: they feel like,

[00:19:57] [SPEAKER_01]: Hey,

[00:19:57] [SPEAKER_01]: I'll go out there.

[00:19:58] [SPEAKER_04]: I'll find the next advantage too.

[00:20:00] [SPEAKER_04]: Right.

[00:20:00] [SPEAKER_04]: I mean,

[00:20:01] [SPEAKER_04]: he obviously thinks that,

[00:20:02] [SPEAKER_04]: right.

[00:20:02] [SPEAKER_04]: He's got tremendous confidence in himself to do that,

[00:20:04] [SPEAKER_04]: which has,

[00:20:04] [SPEAKER_04]: you know,

[00:20:05] [SPEAKER_04]: both served him well and poorly.

[00:20:06] [SPEAKER_04]: Right.

[00:20:06] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.

[00:20:06] [SPEAKER_04]: I mean,

[00:20:06] [SPEAKER_04]: Mike Bloom pointed out how like,

[00:20:08] [SPEAKER_04]: you know,

[00:20:08] [SPEAKER_04]: last week we were saying,

[00:20:09] [SPEAKER_04]: you know,

[00:20:10] [SPEAKER_04]: Rome put himself in this clutch position and it paid off.

[00:20:13] [SPEAKER_04]: And then this week he did the exact same thing and,

[00:20:14] [SPEAKER_04]: and boy,

[00:20:14] [SPEAKER_04]: did it not,

[00:20:15] [SPEAKER_04]: uh,

[00:20:16] [SPEAKER_04]: you know,

[00:20:16] [SPEAKER_04]: potentially the worst challenge performance in,

[00:20:19] [SPEAKER_04]: I mean,

[00:20:19] [SPEAKER_04]: the worst puzzle performance in survivor history.

[00:20:20] [SPEAKER_04]: I think it was the worst,

[00:20:21] [SPEAKER_04]: like,

[00:20:21] [SPEAKER_04]: like just like objectively,

[00:20:23] [SPEAKER_04]: objectively,

[00:20:24] [SPEAKER_04]: like the worst.

[00:20:24] [SPEAKER_01]: Didn't get one piece and they started at the same time as everybody else.

[00:20:28] [SPEAKER_01]: Even Jeff had to try to like do it,

[00:20:30] [SPEAKER_01]: show it like,

[00:20:30] [SPEAKER_01]: Hey,

[00:20:30] [SPEAKER_01]: it's not a rigged puzzle.

[00:20:31] [SPEAKER_01]: Like,

[00:20:32] [SPEAKER_01]: uh,

[00:20:32] [SPEAKER_01]: Oh,

[00:20:33] [SPEAKER_01]: that's funny.

[00:20:33] [SPEAKER_01]: I didn't,

[00:20:34] [SPEAKER_01]: I didn't,

[00:20:34] [SPEAKER_01]: I don't think he was,

[00:20:35] [SPEAKER_01]: that's what he was doing,

[00:20:36] [SPEAKER_01]: but he was,

[00:20:36] [SPEAKER_01]: he was showing,

[00:20:37] [SPEAKER_01]: but I want to just,

[00:20:38] [SPEAKER_01]: well,

[00:20:38] [SPEAKER_01]: one more thing on,

[00:20:39] [SPEAKER_01]: uh,

[00:20:39] [SPEAKER_01]: Genevieve in Rome that is the right move for Genevieve.

[00:20:43] [SPEAKER_01]: Now,

[00:20:44] [SPEAKER_01]: should Genevieve go forward?

[00:20:47] [SPEAKER_01]: If Rome has no more advantages,

[00:20:49] [SPEAKER_01]: has he outlived his usefulness to Genevieve?

[00:20:52] [SPEAKER_01]: Should Genevieve be targeting Rome next?

[00:20:55] [SPEAKER_04]: No,

[00:20:56] [SPEAKER_04]: I,

[00:20:56] [SPEAKER_04]: again,

[00:20:56] [SPEAKER_04]: like loyal ally who,

[00:20:57] [SPEAKER_04]: who is going into the merge.

[00:20:59] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.

[00:21:00] [SPEAKER_04]: But I get loyal.

[00:21:00] [SPEAKER_04]: Like Rome is going to be a big,

[00:21:02] [SPEAKER_04]: you know,

[00:21:02] [SPEAKER_04]: a big lightning rod,

[00:21:03] [SPEAKER_04]: you know,

[00:21:03] [SPEAKER_04]: and,

[00:21:04] [SPEAKER_04]: and create a lot of just a distraction.

[00:21:06] [SPEAKER_04]: I think that's exactly who you want in this game.

[00:21:08] [SPEAKER_04]: Someone who's loyal to you,

[00:21:09] [SPEAKER_04]: you know,

[00:21:10] [SPEAKER_04]: he's not even really an erratic player.

[00:21:11] [SPEAKER_04]: I think people,

[00:21:12] [SPEAKER_04]: people like talk about him,

[00:21:13] [SPEAKER_04]: like he's an erratic player,

[00:21:14] [SPEAKER_04]: but he's,

[00:21:14] [SPEAKER_04]: he's not,

[00:21:15] [SPEAKER_04]: you know,

[00:21:15] [SPEAKER_04]: he's,

[00:21:15] [SPEAKER_04]: he votes according to his alliance.

[00:21:17] [SPEAKER_04]: You know,

[00:21:18] [SPEAKER_04]: he sticks with the plan.

[00:21:19] [SPEAKER_04]: He says what he's going to do and,

[00:21:21] [SPEAKER_04]: and he go ahead.

[00:21:22] [SPEAKER_04]: He sticks with it.

[00:21:22] [SPEAKER_04]: Like that's what a conservative player who's loyal to you,

[00:21:26] [SPEAKER_04]: who attracts a lot of attention,

[00:21:27] [SPEAKER_04]: you know,

[00:21:27] [SPEAKER_04]: like that's exactly who you want to keep around in the game.

[00:21:30] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.

[00:21:31] [SPEAKER_01]: But if teeny and Saul start going around,

[00:21:33] [SPEAKER_01]: you know,

[00:21:34] [SPEAKER_01]: once we get to the merge,

[00:21:35] [SPEAKER_01]: like,

[00:21:35] [SPEAKER_01]: Oh,

[00:21:36] [SPEAKER_01]: Rome and Genevieve are very close.

[00:21:37] [SPEAKER_01]: And then,

[00:21:38] [SPEAKER_01]: so all of a sudden Rome wins immunity,

[00:21:39] [SPEAKER_01]: Rome safe and mergatory.

[00:21:40] [SPEAKER_01]: Like I could see potentially like a Genevieve who I think wants to be a

[00:21:45] [SPEAKER_01]: little bit more under the radar could end up garnering some attention that

[00:21:49] [SPEAKER_01]: she may not necessarily want.

[00:21:51] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.

[00:21:51] [SPEAKER_04]: I mean,

[00:21:51] [SPEAKER_04]: that's true.

[00:21:51] [SPEAKER_04]: Although,

[00:21:52] [SPEAKER_04]: you know,

[00:21:52] [SPEAKER_04]: again,

[00:21:52] [SPEAKER_04]: like we have Saul saying that he too is,

[00:21:54] [SPEAKER_04]: is,

[00:21:54] [SPEAKER_04]: you know,

[00:21:55] [SPEAKER_04]: like we saw the foundation of that alliance.

[00:21:57] [SPEAKER_04]: So,

[00:21:58] [SPEAKER_04]: um,

[00:21:58] [SPEAKER_04]: I don't see a lot.

[00:22:00] [SPEAKER_04]: I mean,

[00:22:00] [SPEAKER_04]: I'll align with,

[00:22:01] [SPEAKER_04]: with Rome here as,

[00:22:02] [SPEAKER_04]: as a bad thing,

[00:22:03] [SPEAKER_04]: you know?

[00:22:03] [SPEAKER_04]: And again,

[00:22:03] [SPEAKER_04]: like you'd much rather have a Rome as an ally who is,

[00:22:07] [SPEAKER_04]: he's locked in.

[00:22:08] [SPEAKER_04]: Then the Kishan is an ally,

[00:22:09] [SPEAKER_04]: you know,

[00:22:09] [SPEAKER_04]: who is going to turn on you at the next vote because there's been a subtle

[00:22:14] [SPEAKER_04]: shift in the vibes.

[00:22:16] [SPEAKER_04]: Fishy for Genevieve,

[00:22:17] [SPEAKER_04]: easiest one of the season.

[00:22:18] [SPEAKER_04]: Fishy for Genevieve for sure.

[00:22:20] [SPEAKER_04]: I mean,

[00:22:21] [SPEAKER_04]: what,

[00:22:21] [SPEAKER_04]: what,

[00:22:21] [SPEAKER_04]: what a great play.

[00:22:22] [SPEAKER_04]: Like what,

[00:22:23] [SPEAKER_04]: you know,

[00:22:23] [SPEAKER_04]: totally sees,

[00:22:24] [SPEAKER_04]: sees the way that things are going not to her advantage.

[00:22:26] [SPEAKER_04]: And I think,

[00:22:26] [SPEAKER_04]: you know,

[00:22:27] [SPEAKER_04]: Kishan is probably very right that,

[00:22:29] [SPEAKER_04]: you know,

[00:22:29] [SPEAKER_04]: suddenly he is emerging as this big player and,

[00:22:31] [SPEAKER_04]: you know,

[00:22:32] [SPEAKER_04]: nobody likes that,

[00:22:33] [SPEAKER_04]: right?

[00:22:33] [SPEAKER_04]: Nobody likes someone else kind of being the,

[00:22:35] [SPEAKER_04]: the,

[00:22:36] [SPEAKER_04]: the leader of all the strategic moves.

[00:22:37] [SPEAKER_04]: Um,

[00:22:38] [SPEAKER_04]: and of course,

[00:22:38] [SPEAKER_04]: like the ability to bridge that divide between Rome and Saul was,

[00:22:42] [SPEAKER_04]: was so good.

[00:22:43] [SPEAKER_04]: You know,

[00:22:44] [SPEAKER_04]: obviously like the sense that,

[00:22:45] [SPEAKER_04]: you know,

[00:22:46] [SPEAKER_04]: she got Rome to come apologize.

[00:22:47] [SPEAKER_04]: She got Saul to see past this,

[00:22:49] [SPEAKER_04]: this,

[00:22:50] [SPEAKER_04]: you know,

[00:22:50] [SPEAKER_04]: slight that had been inflicted on him.

[00:22:52] [SPEAKER_04]: Um,

[00:22:52] [SPEAKER_04]: I just really,

[00:22:53] [SPEAKER_04]: really,

[00:22:53] [SPEAKER_04]: really excellently.

[00:22:54] [SPEAKER_04]: Well,

[00:22:54] [SPEAKER_04]: I'm like,

[00:22:54] [SPEAKER_04]: that's what we like,

[00:22:55] [SPEAKER_04]: that's classic survival.

[00:22:56] [SPEAKER_04]: Right.

[00:22:57] [SPEAKER_04]: Like that is classic survivor.

[00:22:58] [SPEAKER_04]: Like you,

[00:22:58] [SPEAKER_04]: you see an opportunity to take,

[00:23:01] [SPEAKER_04]: to create a new Alliance by bringing together two people who,

[00:23:04] [SPEAKER_04]: who might not normally work together.

[00:23:06] [SPEAKER_04]: You,

[00:23:06] [SPEAKER_04]: you expend your social capital to do that.

[00:23:08] [SPEAKER_04]: And it,

[00:23:09] [SPEAKER_04]: and the plan comes off in a surprising blind side.

[00:23:11] [SPEAKER_04]: Like what a great classic play.

[00:23:14] [SPEAKER_04]: I also,

[00:23:15] [SPEAKER_04]: this might be highly contentious.

[00:23:16] [SPEAKER_04]: I'm going to give a fishy to Rome.

[00:23:18] [SPEAKER_04]: You're giving two fishies away.

[00:23:21] [SPEAKER_04]: Because first I think Rome has played,

[00:23:24] [SPEAKER_04]: I thought the,

[00:23:24] [SPEAKER_04]: using the,

[00:23:25] [SPEAKER_04]: the,

[00:23:26] [SPEAKER_04]: the steal a vote today.

[00:23:26] [SPEAKER_04]: Again,

[00:23:27] [SPEAKER_04]: like first time ever that it was a decisive,

[00:23:30] [SPEAKER_04]: you know,

[00:23:31] [SPEAKER_04]: maybe the vote would have gone through without it,

[00:23:33] [SPEAKER_04]: but we don't know for sure.

[00:23:34] [SPEAKER_04]: And it neutralized the,

[00:23:37] [SPEAKER_04]: the,

[00:23:37] [SPEAKER_04]: the shot in the dark.

[00:23:38] [SPEAKER_04]: Um,

[00:23:39] [SPEAKER_04]: that's,

[00:23:39] [SPEAKER_04]: there's only been the two steal votes,

[00:23:41] [SPEAKER_04]: right?

[00:23:41] [SPEAKER_04]: Was there a different steal vote?

[00:23:42] [SPEAKER_04]: There was me.

[00:23:42] [SPEAKER_04]: And then the,

[00:23:43] [SPEAKER_04]: and Lassina was there,

[00:23:43] [SPEAKER_04]: was there another one that got,

[00:23:44] [SPEAKER_01]: I think it's come up.

[00:23:45] [SPEAKER_01]: Uh,

[00:23:46] [SPEAKER_01]: I think that did,

[00:23:46] [SPEAKER_01]: uh,

[00:23:47] [SPEAKER_01]: no,

[00:23:48] [SPEAKER_04]: well have the steal a vote.

[00:23:49] [SPEAKER_04]: Has it ever been used in a way that unquestionably,

[00:23:54] [SPEAKER_04]: you know,

[00:23:54] [SPEAKER_04]: was,

[00:23:55] [SPEAKER_04]: was effective,

[00:23:56] [SPEAKER_04]: you know?

[00:23:56] [SPEAKER_01]: I think that,

[00:23:57] [SPEAKER_01]: so going back to survivor 43,

[00:23:58] [SPEAKER_01]: uh,

[00:23:59] [SPEAKER_01]: if I remember this correctly,

[00:24:01] [SPEAKER_01]: uh,

[00:24:01] [SPEAKER_01]: Noel had the steal a vote and then she stole a wins.

[00:24:05] [SPEAKER_01]: Oh,

[00:24:05] [SPEAKER_01]: right.

[00:24:05] [SPEAKER_01]: And then used it to vote out James Jones.

[00:24:09] [SPEAKER_01]: Uh,

[00:24:09] [SPEAKER_04]: that's true.

[00:24:09] [SPEAKER_04]: That was,

[00:24:10] [SPEAKER_04]: that was,

[00:24:10] [SPEAKER_04]: that was a very effective too.

[00:24:11] [SPEAKER_04]: Cause then I kept James and James had an idol,

[00:24:13] [SPEAKER_04]: right?

[00:24:13] [SPEAKER_01]: So James had knowledge is power.

[00:24:15] [SPEAKER_01]: And so that was sort of like,

[00:24:16] [SPEAKER_01]: okay.

[00:24:17] [SPEAKER_01]: That,

[00:24:17] [SPEAKER_01]: she's like,

[00:24:18] [SPEAKER_01]: Hey,

[00:24:18] [SPEAKER_01]: don't,

[00:24:18] [SPEAKER_01]: don't take my,

[00:24:19] [SPEAKER_01]: like,

[00:24:20] [SPEAKER_01]: cause I,

[00:24:20] [SPEAKER_01]: here's what I want to steal Owen's vote just to mess with him,

[00:24:23] [SPEAKER_01]: but then stole Owen's vote to then use it to vote out James.

[00:24:26] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.

[00:24:26] [SPEAKER_04]: That was,

[00:24:27] [SPEAKER_04]: that was a great move,

[00:24:27] [SPEAKER_04]: but it was kind of similar in the way of like,

[00:24:28] [SPEAKER_04]: I'm using this to like,

[00:24:29] [SPEAKER_04]: make sure.

[00:24:30] [SPEAKER_04]: Well,

[00:24:30] [SPEAKER_04]: I mean,

[00:24:30] [SPEAKER_04]: it's sort of different cause that was like a misdirect,

[00:24:32] [SPEAKER_04]: but anyway,

[00:24:32] [SPEAKER_04]: like I really do think Rome's play for the past two episodes,

[00:24:35] [SPEAKER_04]: you know,

[00:24:35] [SPEAKER_04]: while again,

[00:24:36] [SPEAKER_04]: on the social level,

[00:24:37] [SPEAKER_04]: he has certainly alienated some people.

[00:24:39] [SPEAKER_04]: He's also built solid alliances.

[00:24:40] [SPEAKER_04]: And I really think that we have to acknowledge this way.

[00:24:44] [SPEAKER_04]: He's playing with his advantages of just getting them for a short period,

[00:24:48] [SPEAKER_04]: spending them.

[00:24:49] [SPEAKER_04]: And again,

[00:24:49] [SPEAKER_04]: with,

[00:24:49] [SPEAKER_04]: you know,

[00:24:50] [SPEAKER_04]: using it out at like a right away,

[00:24:53] [SPEAKER_04]: the steel of,

[00:24:53] [SPEAKER_04]: truly one of the most,

[00:24:54] [SPEAKER_04]: you know,

[00:24:55] [SPEAKER_04]: interesting and powerful advantages in the game to just expend it on the second tribal council to,

[00:25:00] [SPEAKER_04]: to lock it up when,

[00:25:02] [SPEAKER_04]: you know,

[00:25:03] [SPEAKER_04]: there's a world where he could say like,

[00:25:04] [SPEAKER_04]: Oh,

[00:25:04] [SPEAKER_04]: I'm going to risk it.

[00:25:05] [SPEAKER_04]: You know,

[00:25:06] [SPEAKER_04]: I think that I saw is with me here.

[00:25:08] [SPEAKER_04]: Like,

[00:25:08] [SPEAKER_04]: you know,

[00:25:09] [SPEAKER_04]: Genevieve and I are together.

[00:25:10] [SPEAKER_04]: No,

[00:25:10] [SPEAKER_04]: he,

[00:25:10] [SPEAKER_04]: he,

[00:25:11] [SPEAKER_04]: you know,

[00:25:11] [SPEAKER_04]: I don't think he's on knows about it.

[00:25:13] [SPEAKER_04]: You know,

[00:25:13] [SPEAKER_04]: like he makes it a certainty,

[00:25:15] [SPEAKER_04]: right.

[00:25:15] [SPEAKER_04]: He takes a potentially flawed plan that we saw had a lot of other outcomes and really locks it up for himself to make sure he's not the one going home.

[00:25:23] [SPEAKER_04]: I think that's really smart advantage play.

[00:25:25] [SPEAKER_04]: and,

[00:25:26] [SPEAKER_04]: and again,

[00:25:26] [SPEAKER_04]: like he also has done enough to secure the loyalty of his allies.

[00:25:32] [SPEAKER_04]: Right.

[00:25:32] [SPEAKER_04]: So it's like,

[00:25:33] [SPEAKER_04]: yes,

[00:25:33] [SPEAKER_04]: on the one hand,

[00:25:34] [SPEAKER_04]: Genevieve was wary of Keyshawn.

[00:25:37] [SPEAKER_04]: She also felt that Rome was a better and more loyal ally to her and that you have to give credit to Genevieve,

[00:25:41] [SPEAKER_04]: but you also have to give credit to Rome.

[00:25:42] [SPEAKER_04]: That's okay.

[00:25:43] [SPEAKER_01]: Two fishies.

[00:25:43] [SPEAKER_01]: Well,

[00:25:44] [SPEAKER_01]: I certainly can't condone giving two fishies away,

[00:25:47] [SPEAKER_01]: but Stephen,

[00:25:48] [SPEAKER_01]: this is something that you have been talking about since you played all the way back in Survivor 30.

[00:25:53] [SPEAKER_01]: One,

[00:25:54] [SPEAKER_01]: that you said that you got the secret advantage in front of everybody,

[00:25:57] [SPEAKER_01]: uh,

[00:25:58] [SPEAKER_01]: that you,

[00:25:58] [SPEAKER_01]: once you had it,

[00:26:00] [SPEAKER_01]: that you were sort of like,

[00:26:01] [SPEAKER_01]: uh,

[00:26:01] [SPEAKER_01]: a huge target was on your back.

[00:26:04] [SPEAKER_01]: You've been saying,

[00:26:05] [SPEAKER_01]: you know,

[00:26:05] [SPEAKER_01]: if you have these known advantages,

[00:26:07] [SPEAKER_01]: spend them,

[00:26:08] [SPEAKER_01]: use them,

[00:26:09] [SPEAKER_01]: uh,

[00:26:09] [SPEAKER_01]: you know,

[00:26:09] [SPEAKER_01]: get the heat off of you.

[00:26:11] [SPEAKER_01]: And I don't know if it took Survivor 46 and all these players to get voted out with idols in their pocket to finally catch up.

[00:26:18] [SPEAKER_01]: But it seems like that maybe this,

[00:26:20] [SPEAKER_01]: uh,

[00:26:21] [SPEAKER_01]: people are finally listening to you.

[00:26:23] [SPEAKER_04]: That's what exists.

[00:26:24] [SPEAKER_04]: It's people finally listening to me,

[00:26:25] [SPEAKER_04]: but it's,

[00:26:26] [SPEAKER_04]: it's truly,

[00:26:26] [SPEAKER_04]: it's not just,

[00:26:27] [SPEAKER_04]: I mean,

[00:26:27] [SPEAKER_04]: there's that,

[00:26:28] [SPEAKER_04]: it's like that sense of like,

[00:26:29] [SPEAKER_04]: get the heat off of you,

[00:26:30] [SPEAKER_04]: but there's also the sense of like,

[00:26:32] [SPEAKER_04]: not being like misled by your like new precious,

[00:26:34] [SPEAKER_04]: you know what I mean?

[00:26:35] [SPEAKER_04]: The fact that like,

[00:26:36] [SPEAKER_04]: you're able to resist that,

[00:26:38] [SPEAKER_04]: like beguiling whisper.

[00:26:39] [SPEAKER_04]: And I,

[00:26:39] [SPEAKER_04]: I have spoken to a lot of people who have had those advantages and how they curse them,

[00:26:44] [SPEAKER_04]: you know,

[00:26:44] [SPEAKER_04]: because they start to project forward and you can never do that on Survivor.

[00:26:47] [SPEAKER_04]: You have to play,

[00:26:48] [SPEAKER_04]: you know,

[00:26:49] [SPEAKER_04]: you have to play,

[00:26:50] [SPEAKER_04]: um,

[00:26:50] [SPEAKER_04]: tribal council to tribal council or elimination to elimination.

[00:26:53] [SPEAKER_04]: I mean,

[00:26:53] [SPEAKER_04]: obviously you want to like plan forward and look ahead,

[00:26:55] [SPEAKER_04]: but once you start to like project too far ahead and try to like move pieces around,

[00:27:00] [SPEAKER_04]: just to like set up the perfect move,

[00:27:01] [SPEAKER_04]: then,

[00:27:02] [SPEAKER_04]: you know,

[00:27:02] [SPEAKER_04]: that's where people get into trouble.

[00:27:03] [SPEAKER_04]: And I really,

[00:27:04] [SPEAKER_04]: I got to applaud Rome.

[00:27:05] [SPEAKER_04]: I mean,

[00:27:05] [SPEAKER_04]: you could see a player like him who likes the big flashy move,

[00:27:09] [SPEAKER_04]: who obviously like likes,

[00:27:11] [SPEAKER_04]: it is a bit theatrical.

[00:27:12] [SPEAKER_04]: You could see that person,

[00:27:14] [SPEAKER_04]: that personality type kind of wanting to like set up some like,

[00:27:17] [SPEAKER_04]: you know,

[00:27:17] [SPEAKER_04]: big blind side.

[00:27:18] [SPEAKER_04]: And the fact that he has played really a very conservative game,

[00:27:21] [SPEAKER_04]: um,

[00:27:21] [SPEAKER_04]: I,

[00:27:21] [SPEAKER_04]: I'm really impressed by,

[00:27:22] [SPEAKER_01]: I mean,

[00:27:23] [SPEAKER_01]: he,

[00:27:24] [SPEAKER_01]: he has been,

[00:27:25] [SPEAKER_01]: um,

[00:27:25] [SPEAKER_01]: you know,

[00:27:26] [SPEAKER_01]: uh,

[00:27:26] [SPEAKER_01]: you could say it's playing conservatively and you could also,

[00:27:30] [SPEAKER_01]: say like,

[00:27:30] [SPEAKER_01]: there's a little bit of like the marshmallow test of like that,

[00:27:33] [SPEAKER_01]: uh,

[00:27:33] [SPEAKER_01]: maybe like,

[00:27:34] [SPEAKER_01]: uh,

[00:27:34] [SPEAKER_01]: having the advantage in his pocket,

[00:27:36] [SPEAKER_01]: he has to spend it as fast as he has it also.

[00:27:40] [SPEAKER_04]: Well,

[00:27:41] [SPEAKER_04]: yeah.

[00:27:41] [SPEAKER_04]: Okay.

[00:27:41] [SPEAKER_04]: But you know,

[00:27:42] [SPEAKER_04]: that's true.

[00:27:42] [SPEAKER_04]: I mean,

[00:27:43] [SPEAKER_04]: he's in the hot seat.

[00:27:44] [SPEAKER_04]: Um,

[00:27:45] [SPEAKER_04]: but he,

[00:27:45] [SPEAKER_04]: even when,

[00:27:45] [SPEAKER_04]: even when he,

[00:27:46] [SPEAKER_04]: you know,

[00:27:47] [SPEAKER_04]: when he came on,

[00:27:48] [SPEAKER_04]: uh,

[00:27:49] [SPEAKER_04]: teeny showing,

[00:27:50] [SPEAKER_04]: you know,

[00:27:50] [SPEAKER_04]: Kishon,

[00:27:50] [SPEAKER_04]: the,

[00:27:51] [SPEAKER_04]: uh,

[00:27:51] [SPEAKER_04]: the advantage,

[00:27:52] [SPEAKER_04]: he played that off so perfectly.

[00:27:53] [SPEAKER_04]: He was like,

[00:27:53] [SPEAKER_04]: okay,

[00:27:53] [SPEAKER_04]: great.

[00:27:53] [SPEAKER_04]: Like this is,

[00:27:54] [SPEAKER_04]: this is the group.

[00:27:54] [SPEAKER_04]: Like,

[00:27:54] [SPEAKER_04]: you know,

[00:27:55] [SPEAKER_04]: he didn't.

[00:27:55] [SPEAKER_04]: And then he was like,

[00:27:56] [SPEAKER_04]: I'm going to,

[00:27:56] [SPEAKER_04]: I'm going to spend this right away.

[00:27:57] [SPEAKER_04]: I'm look a lot of,

[00:27:59] [SPEAKER_04]: a lot to say that for the record,

[00:28:01] [SPEAKER_01]: and he would have been voted out this week had not been for the grace of Genevieve.

[00:28:05] [SPEAKER_04]: Well,

[00:28:06] [SPEAKER_04]: right.

[00:28:06] [SPEAKER_04]: Um,

[00:28:07] [SPEAKER_04]: but you know,

[00:28:08] [SPEAKER_04]: that's,

[00:28:08] [SPEAKER_04]: you know,

[00:28:09] [SPEAKER_04]: you could say that Genevieve could have been voted out last week.

[00:28:11] [SPEAKER_04]: If not for that,

[00:28:12] [SPEAKER_04]: if Rome hadn't had the threat of the,

[00:28:14] [SPEAKER_04]: the idol play,

[00:28:15] [SPEAKER_04]: look,

[00:28:16] [SPEAKER_04]: Genevieve played it.

[00:28:16] [SPEAKER_04]: Like I said,

[00:28:17] [SPEAKER_04]: Genevieve played a spectacular social game.

[00:28:19] [SPEAKER_04]: Rome played a very bad social game this week.

[00:28:21] [SPEAKER_04]: I think we can all agree about that terrible social game from Rome.

[00:28:24] [SPEAKER_04]: And for four weeks.

[00:28:25] [SPEAKER_04]: Uh,

[00:28:26] [SPEAKER_04]: yeah,

[00:28:26] [SPEAKER_04]: but,

[00:28:27] [SPEAKER_04]: but,

[00:28:27] [SPEAKER_04]: um,

[00:28:27] [SPEAKER_04]: you know,

[00:28:28] [SPEAKER_04]: I,

[00:28:28] [SPEAKER_04]: I thought his advantage play was really good.

[00:28:29] [SPEAKER_04]: And I think like,

[00:28:30] [SPEAKER_04]: you know,

[00:28:31] [SPEAKER_04]: there's a really good case to be made that I should have given him the fishy last week.

[00:28:34] [SPEAKER_04]: And I think like the combined two week,

[00:28:36] [SPEAKER_04]: uh,

[00:28:36] [SPEAKER_04]: you know,

[00:28:37] [SPEAKER_04]: two week advantage play and,

[00:28:38] [SPEAKER_04]: and the way he kind of has moved around his tribe is,

[00:28:41] [SPEAKER_04]: I think deserves it.

[00:28:42] [SPEAKER_01]: Okay.

[00:28:45] [SPEAKER_01]: Steven,

[00:28:46] [SPEAKER_01]: something that was super interesting in this episode this week was that we had the return

[00:28:50] [SPEAKER_01]: of the chickens as a reward.

[00:28:53] [SPEAKER_01]: And.

[00:28:54] [SPEAKER_01]: Oh yeah.

[00:28:54] [SPEAKER_01]: This is all so interesting.

[00:28:56] [SPEAKER_01]: Okay.

[00:28:56] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.

[00:28:57] [SPEAKER_01]: So,

[00:28:57] [SPEAKER_01]: uh,

[00:28:58] [SPEAKER_01]: see it first time there's no CEO award and then the chickens are back.

[00:29:01] [SPEAKER_01]: It,

[00:29:01] [SPEAKER_01]: this is very interesting.

[00:29:03] [SPEAKER_01]: Just the whole,

[00:29:04] [SPEAKER_01]: the whole like sort of like,

[00:29:05] [SPEAKER_01]: okay,

[00:29:05] [SPEAKER_01]: we had the CEO award and then the CEO award is gone.

[00:29:07] [SPEAKER_01]: And all of a sudden the chickens are back.

[00:29:09] [SPEAKER_01]: Was there a deal?

[00:29:10] [SPEAKER_01]: Like I'll give this award to save the chickens.

[00:29:12] [SPEAKER_01]: I'm not sure,

[00:29:13] [SPEAKER_01]: but I think the story was that the original,

[00:29:16] [SPEAKER_01]: the origin of like getting rid of the chickens was Sia.

[00:29:19] [SPEAKER_01]: I didn't like that.

[00:29:20] [SPEAKER_01]: They were throwing the chickens off of the boat.

[00:29:23] [SPEAKER_04]: That's a very stressful thing.

[00:29:24] [SPEAKER_01]: Very stressful thing for the chickens.

[00:29:26] [SPEAKER_01]: So I don't know,

[00:29:27] [SPEAKER_01]: maybe we have,

[00:29:27] [SPEAKER_01]: we sort of like landed in some middle ground where we won't throw chickens off of the boat,

[00:29:31] [SPEAKER_01]: but we'll still have them out there on the island.

[00:29:32] [SPEAKER_01]: I mean,

[00:29:33] [SPEAKER_01]: I have always been pro put the chickens out there because for 47 seasons that they give the survivors chickens and they cause,

[00:29:42] [SPEAKER_01]: there's nothing that will cause more fights in the tribe than giving them chickens.

[00:29:46] [SPEAKER_01]: That's funny.

[00:29:47] [SPEAKER_01]: They let them out.

[00:29:48] [SPEAKER_01]: Who wants to eat them?

[00:29:49] [SPEAKER_01]: Who doesn't want to eat them?

[00:29:49] [SPEAKER_01]: Who wants to save them?

[00:29:50] [SPEAKER_01]: Who ate too much?

[00:29:52] [SPEAKER_04]: I think it's a weird move though,

[00:29:54] [SPEAKER_04]: to put the,

[00:29:54] [SPEAKER_04]: like take them out for like moral reasons.

[00:29:56] [SPEAKER_04]: And then they'd be like,

[00:29:57] [SPEAKER_04]: yeah,

[00:29:57] [SPEAKER_04]: those morals were sort of,

[00:29:58] [SPEAKER_04]: were sort of disposable.

[00:29:59] [SPEAKER_04]: You know,

[00:29:59] [SPEAKER_04]: like I hear you,

[00:30:00] [SPEAKER_04]: they're not throwing them off boats,

[00:30:03] [SPEAKER_04]: but look,

[00:30:03] [SPEAKER_04]: and I,

[00:30:03] [SPEAKER_04]: I eat meat.

[00:30:04] [SPEAKER_04]: I just,

[00:30:05] [SPEAKER_04]: I'm still like not totally comfortable with it.

[00:30:07] [SPEAKER_04]: You know,

[00:30:07] [SPEAKER_04]: I mean,

[00:30:07] [SPEAKER_04]: and I'm sure this,

[00:30:09] [SPEAKER_04]: you know.

[00:30:10] [SPEAKER_04]: Did you all get chickens in token genes?

[00:30:13] [SPEAKER_04]: No,

[00:30:13] [SPEAKER_04]: we did not in token genes,

[00:30:14] [SPEAKER_04]: but we certainly did in Cambodia.

[00:30:15] [SPEAKER_04]: We had a chicken and,

[00:30:16] [SPEAKER_04]: you know,

[00:30:18] [SPEAKER_04]: killed her.

[00:30:18] [SPEAKER_04]: Juicy J,

[00:30:19] [SPEAKER_04]: right?

[00:30:20] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.

[00:30:20] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.

[00:30:21] [SPEAKER_04]: It was a very funny deleted scene.

[00:30:23] [SPEAKER_04]: The Juicy J escaping.

[00:30:25] [SPEAKER_04]: I think actually escaping.

[00:30:26] [SPEAKER_04]: Jeremy let Juicy J out.

[00:30:27] [SPEAKER_04]: There was a,

[00:30:27] [SPEAKER_04]: you know,

[00:30:28] [SPEAKER_04]: a jail break.

[00:30:30] [SPEAKER_04]: But,

[00:30:30] [SPEAKER_04]: but,

[00:30:31] [SPEAKER_04]: but he did that intentionally.

[00:30:33] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.

[00:30:33] [SPEAKER_04]: Why?

[00:30:34] [SPEAKER_04]: So I think it's just to create chaos.

[00:30:35] [SPEAKER_04]: I think it was just like him having fun.

[00:30:38] [SPEAKER_04]: It was a very funny deleted scene.

[00:30:39] [SPEAKER_04]: If you haven't seen it,

[00:30:40] [SPEAKER_04]: you know,

[00:30:41] [SPEAKER_04]: it's worth going back and watching it.

[00:30:42] [SPEAKER_04]: Very,

[00:30:42] [SPEAKER_04]: very humorous.

[00:30:43] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.

[00:30:44] [SPEAKER_04]: But,

[00:30:44] [SPEAKER_04]: but yeah,

[00:30:45] [SPEAKER_04]: the,

[00:30:46] [SPEAKER_04]: the,

[00:30:47] [SPEAKER_04]: I don't know.

[00:30:48] [SPEAKER_04]: I mean,

[00:30:49] [SPEAKER_04]: I always was fine with the chickens and that,

[00:30:51] [SPEAKER_04]: but then like,

[00:30:51] [SPEAKER_04]: like taking them away and then putting them back,

[00:30:53] [SPEAKER_04]: just kind of like.

[00:30:55] [SPEAKER_01]: Look,

[00:30:56] [SPEAKER_01]: Survivor has done this quite a bit in the new era of like,

[00:30:58] [SPEAKER_01]: Jeff comes out like,

[00:30:59] [SPEAKER_01]: Hey,

[00:31:00] [SPEAKER_01]: it's me.

[00:31:00] [SPEAKER_01]: I'm the,

[00:31:01] [SPEAKER_01]: I'm your,

[00:31:01] [SPEAKER_01]: I'm your grandpa.

[00:31:02] [SPEAKER_01]: And now I'm spicy Jeff.

[00:31:03] [SPEAKER_01]: You know,

[00:31:03] [SPEAKER_01]: it's like,

[00:31:04] [SPEAKER_01]: uh,

[00:31:04] [SPEAKER_01]: we're being nice to the chickens.

[00:31:05] [SPEAKER_01]: Now we're back.

[00:31:07] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.

[00:31:07] [SPEAKER_04]: Now we're eating them.

[00:31:08] [SPEAKER_01]: Now this is the spicy nuggets.

[00:31:10] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.

[00:31:11] [SPEAKER_01]: Um,

[00:31:12] [SPEAKER_01]: yeah,

[00:31:13] [SPEAKER_01]: I don't know.

[00:31:14] [SPEAKER_01]: I mean,

[00:31:14] [SPEAKER_01]: it's fine.

[00:31:14] [SPEAKER_01]: No,

[00:31:15] [SPEAKER_01]: they gave them three egg laying hens.

[00:31:18] [SPEAKER_01]: I feel like in the past,

[00:31:19] [SPEAKER_01]: they used to give them a rooster also.

[00:31:21] [SPEAKER_01]: Well,

[00:31:22] [SPEAKER_01]: you don't need the rooster for the egg.

[00:31:23] [SPEAKER_04]: But they used to give them a rooster too.

[00:31:25] [SPEAKER_04]: Just for like a fun for like the cockadoodle.

[00:31:28] [SPEAKER_01]: I feel like they would get three egg laying hens and a rooster.

[00:31:31] [SPEAKER_01]: And then the survivors would get stumped on.

[00:31:34] [SPEAKER_01]: What do we do?

[00:31:34] [SPEAKER_01]: Can we kill the rooster?

[00:31:36] [SPEAKER_01]: The deflation and the chicken,

[00:31:37] [SPEAKER_04]: uh,

[00:31:37] [SPEAKER_04]: you know?

[00:31:38] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.

[00:31:38] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.

[00:31:39] [SPEAKER_01]: Okay.

[00:31:39] [SPEAKER_01]: To make it annoying to wake them up.

[00:31:42] [SPEAKER_01]: So there's a lot of stuff that you could do with the,

[00:31:43] [SPEAKER_01]: with the rooster.

[00:31:44] [SPEAKER_01]: But yeah,

[00:31:45] [SPEAKER_01]: I was excited to see that the chickens came back.

[00:31:47] [SPEAKER_01]: I mean,

[00:31:47] [SPEAKER_01]: that's a big reward.

[00:31:49] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.

[00:31:49] [SPEAKER_01]: It is a really big reward.

[00:31:50] [SPEAKER_01]: It is.

[00:31:50] [SPEAKER_01]: Especially when there's no food.

[00:31:52] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.

[00:31:53] [SPEAKER_01]: Um,

[00:31:54] [SPEAKER_01]: and,

[00:31:54] [SPEAKER_01]: and let me just,

[00:31:56] [SPEAKER_01]: yeah.

[00:31:56] [SPEAKER_01]: And let me just say to the Gata tribe,

[00:31:58] [SPEAKER_01]: and they're thinking about it,

[00:32:00] [SPEAKER_01]: kill all three chickens in a row.

[00:32:02] [SPEAKER_04]: Right away.

[00:32:03] [SPEAKER_04]: I mean,

[00:32:04] [SPEAKER_04]: a,

[00:32:04] [SPEAKER_04]: I'm a little uncomfortable with the chickens,

[00:32:05] [SPEAKER_04]: but B,

[00:32:06] [SPEAKER_04]: the purely correct strategy is to kill them all.

[00:32:08] [SPEAKER_04]: Um,

[00:32:09] [SPEAKER_04]: right away because otherwise like there's going to be a swap.

[00:32:12] [SPEAKER_04]: You're going to be sharing them.

[00:32:13] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.

[00:32:14] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.

[00:32:14] [SPEAKER_01]: I mean,

[00:32:15] [SPEAKER_01]: this has been,

[00:32:16] [SPEAKER_01]: and this did not,

[00:32:17] [SPEAKER_01]: this did not help me in survivor all stars because this was my opinion of,

[00:32:21] [SPEAKER_01]: we got rice and we had it.

[00:32:23] [SPEAKER_01]: And my,

[00:32:25] [SPEAKER_01]: what I was trying to sell to my tribe was like,

[00:32:27] [SPEAKER_01]: Hey,

[00:32:27] [SPEAKER_01]: we have rice.

[00:32:29] [SPEAKER_01]: We should be eating it.

[00:32:30] [SPEAKER_01]: And Amber was like,

[00:32:32] [SPEAKER_01]: no,

[00:32:32] [SPEAKER_01]: we in Australia,

[00:32:33] [SPEAKER_01]: that we ran out of food and we didn't have any more.

[00:32:35] [SPEAKER_01]: Like,

[00:32:36] [SPEAKER_01]: but there's gonna,

[00:32:36] [SPEAKER_01]: we're going to have to share it with people.

[00:32:38] [SPEAKER_01]: We eat it now.

[00:32:39] [SPEAKER_01]: We get it.

[00:32:40] [SPEAKER_04]: And they were like,

[00:32:40] [SPEAKER_04]: it manages,

[00:32:42] [SPEAKER_04]: you know,

[00:32:43] [SPEAKER_01]: and this is a lesson that I learned of like,

[00:32:45] [SPEAKER_01]: I can be,

[00:32:46] [SPEAKER_01]: I learned that day that even though I am right.

[00:32:51] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.

[00:32:51] [SPEAKER_01]: That I can just also be quiet and stay.

[00:32:56] [SPEAKER_01]: And that is a lesson that I have taken with me.

[00:32:58] [SPEAKER_01]: And I can tell you that I am now successfully married for 14 years,

[00:33:03] [SPEAKER_01]: Steven.

[00:33:04] [SPEAKER_01]: Wow.

[00:33:05] Hmm.

[00:33:06] [SPEAKER_01]: Okay.

[00:33:06] [SPEAKER_01]: And many times I have been right.

[00:33:09] [SPEAKER_01]: And I have kept that to myself.

[00:33:15] [SPEAKER_04]: So Sam was right here.

[00:33:17] [SPEAKER_04]: I mean,

[00:33:17] [SPEAKER_04]: Sam basically had that lesson,

[00:33:18] [SPEAKER_04]: right?

[00:33:18] [SPEAKER_04]: He wanted to eat them,

[00:33:19] [SPEAKER_04]: but he saw that the rest of the tribe was a little more ambivalent about

[00:33:23] [SPEAKER_04]: that.

[00:33:23] [SPEAKER_04]: It's like some Sierra loves chicken.

[00:33:25] [SPEAKER_04]: She pets them.

[00:33:28] [SPEAKER_04]: So yeah.

[00:33:29] [SPEAKER_04]: Those two wineries that have chickens.

[00:33:30] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.

[00:33:31] [SPEAKER_04]: It goes to wineries.

[00:33:32] [SPEAKER_04]: You know,

[00:33:32] [SPEAKER_04]: they drink wines.

[00:33:33] [SPEAKER_04]: Chickens love wine.

[00:33:34] [SPEAKER_04]: They're lush.

[00:33:34] [SPEAKER_01]: The chickens are lush.

[00:33:36] [SPEAKER_01]: Okay.

[00:33:37] [SPEAKER_01]: How about baby Andy?

[00:33:41] [SPEAKER_01]: It's such an interesting spot.

[00:33:44] [SPEAKER_01]: And he ends up getting the word from Sierra about the women's alliance.

[00:33:51] [SPEAKER_04]: And then he.

[00:33:52] [SPEAKER_04]: Did you think that was a funny moment where he was like,

[00:33:53] [SPEAKER_04]: I love you.

[00:33:54] [SPEAKER_04]: And she's like,

[00:33:54] [SPEAKER_04]: I love all you guys.

[00:33:56] [SPEAKER_04]: I love everyone.

[00:33:57] [SPEAKER_04]: You know,

[00:33:57] [SPEAKER_04]: I didn't catch that.

[00:33:58] [SPEAKER_04]: It was a Billy Garcia moment.

[00:34:00] [SPEAKER_04]: Really?

[00:34:00] [SPEAKER_01]: I didn't catch that.

[00:34:00] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.

[00:34:01] [SPEAKER_04]: Oh,

[00:34:01] [SPEAKER_04]: it was great.

[00:34:01] [SPEAKER_04]: It was great.

[00:34:02] [SPEAKER_04]: It really was like exactly like that.

[00:34:04] [SPEAKER_04]: Candace,

[00:34:04] [SPEAKER_04]: Billy Garcia were like,

[00:34:06] [SPEAKER_04]: you know,

[00:34:06] [SPEAKER_04]: Candace is like,

[00:34:07] [SPEAKER_04]: Oh,

[00:34:07] [SPEAKER_04]: we,

[00:34:07] [SPEAKER_04]: we love you.

[00:34:08] [SPEAKER_04]: I love you.

[00:34:11] [SPEAKER_04]: Um,

[00:34:11] [SPEAKER_04]: it really was very similar.

[00:34:13] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.

[00:34:13] [SPEAKER_01]: Did Andy,

[00:34:14] [SPEAKER_01]: uh,

[00:34:17] [SPEAKER_01]: successfully completely destroy the Sierra and Sam,

[00:34:21] [SPEAKER_01]: uh,

[00:34:22] [SPEAKER_01]: alliance.

[00:34:23] [SPEAKER_01]: The alliance is trying to build up.

[00:34:25] [SPEAKER_04]: It's a tricky one.

[00:34:26] [SPEAKER_04]: It is a really tricky one.

[00:34:27] [SPEAKER_04]: This is like,

[00:34:28] [SPEAKER_04]: you know,

[00:34:28] [SPEAKER_04]: whenever people ask,

[00:34:29] [SPEAKER_04]: why don't the survivors just like tell each other what's happening?

[00:34:31] [SPEAKER_04]: This is why it's because of like literally this thing where Sierra tells Andy,

[00:34:36] [SPEAKER_04]: this pretty anodyne piece of information that the three girls have a name for their alliance,

[00:34:42] [SPEAKER_04]: which is,

[00:34:43] [SPEAKER_04]: um,

[00:34:43] [SPEAKER_04]: the breadwinners,

[00:34:44] [SPEAKER_04]: which is a fun,

[00:34:44] [SPEAKER_04]: fun name actually for their alliance.

[00:34:46] [SPEAKER_04]: Um,

[00:34:47] [SPEAKER_04]: I can say,

[00:34:47] [SPEAKER_04]: but it's funny because it's like,

[00:34:48] [SPEAKER_04]: it's going to,

[00:34:48] [SPEAKER_04]: you know,

[00:34:49] [SPEAKER_04]: emasculate Sam a little bit.

[00:34:50] [SPEAKER_04]: Right.

[00:34:50] [SPEAKER_04]: Um,

[00:34:51] [SPEAKER_04]: like as,

[00:34:52] [SPEAKER_04]: uh,

[00:34:52] [SPEAKER_04]: you know,

[00:34:52] [SPEAKER_04]: the,

[00:34:52] [SPEAKER_04]: the self imagined,

[00:34:54] [SPEAKER_04]: um,

[00:34:55] [SPEAKER_04]: glue or whatever he is.

[00:34:56] [SPEAKER_04]: Glue guy.

[00:34:57] [SPEAKER_04]: Glue guy.

[00:34:57] [SPEAKER_04]: Glue gun.

[00:34:58] [SPEAKER_04]: Uh,

[00:34:58] [SPEAKER_04]: glue guy,

[00:34:59] [SPEAKER_04]: not gluten guy.

[00:35:00] [SPEAKER_04]: Oh yeah,

[00:35:01] [SPEAKER_04]: that's right.

[00:35:01] [SPEAKER_04]: Not in the breadwinners.

[00:35:03] [SPEAKER_04]: That's very good.

[00:35:06] [SPEAKER_04]: Um,

[00:35:06] [SPEAKER_04]: but,

[00:35:06] [SPEAKER_04]: but,

[00:35:07] [SPEAKER_04]: but then like,

[00:35:07] [SPEAKER_04]: so that she tells Andy is kind of like a throwaway comment and like,

[00:35:11] [SPEAKER_04]: don't tell anybody.

[00:35:12] [SPEAKER_04]: And Andy feels rightfully good that he's got some kind of inside Intel with Sierra.

[00:35:16] [SPEAKER_04]: Andy wanting to,

[00:35:18] [SPEAKER_04]: you know,

[00:35:19] [SPEAKER_04]: bolster his relationship with Sam,

[00:35:20] [SPEAKER_04]: who,

[00:35:20] [SPEAKER_04]: who he sees as his number one.

[00:35:22] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.

[00:35:22] [SPEAKER_04]: Tells about the breadwinners.

[00:35:23] [SPEAKER_04]: And then Sam's wondering,

[00:35:24] [SPEAKER_04]: what on earth are you telling Andy for?

[00:35:26] [SPEAKER_04]: Not me.

[00:35:27] [SPEAKER_04]: And I do think there had to be a little bit of like,

[00:35:29] [SPEAKER_04]: really?

[00:35:29] [SPEAKER_04]: You guys,

[00:35:29] [SPEAKER_04]: I mean like,

[00:35:30] [SPEAKER_04]: what about me?

[00:35:30] [SPEAKER_04]: I'm not a breadwinner here.

[00:35:31] [SPEAKER_04]: Um,

[00:35:32] [SPEAKER_01]: you think that he was annoyed,

[00:35:33] [SPEAKER_01]: not only about not knowing the name,

[00:35:34] [SPEAKER_01]: but also what the name was.

[00:35:36] [SPEAKER_04]: I think that had to be,

[00:35:37] [SPEAKER_04]: I mean,

[00:35:38] [SPEAKER_04]: personally,

[00:35:38] [SPEAKER_04]: cross my mind.

[00:35:39] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.

[00:35:40] [SPEAKER_04]: This is just like,

[00:35:41] [SPEAKER_04]: you know,

[00:35:41] [SPEAKER_04]: armchair psychoanalyzing,

[00:35:42] [SPEAKER_04]: but like,

[00:35:42] [SPEAKER_04]: I think that,

[00:35:43] [SPEAKER_04]: that maybe there was a glimmer of that.

[00:35:45] [SPEAKER_04]: Um,

[00:35:45] [SPEAKER_04]: but also like,

[00:35:46] [SPEAKER_04]: even the fact that your best ally is sharing something with someone else and not with you.

[00:35:50] [SPEAKER_04]: And then it's getting back to you.

[00:35:51] [SPEAKER_04]: Like you,

[00:35:51] [SPEAKER_04]: how do you not start to wonder,

[00:35:52] [SPEAKER_04]: right?

[00:35:53] [SPEAKER_04]: Cause information is the currency of the game.

[00:35:55] [SPEAKER_04]: Um,

[00:35:55] [SPEAKER_04]: you know,

[00:35:56] [SPEAKER_04]: that's the other currency.

[00:35:57] [SPEAKER_01]: So I would love to just talk about,

[00:36:00] [SPEAKER_01]: um,

[00:36:00] [SPEAKER_01]: in the different parts.

[00:36:02] [SPEAKER_01]: Uh,

[00:36:03] [SPEAKER_01]: what was it a mistake for Andy to mention this to Sam?

[00:36:07] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.

[00:36:07] [SPEAKER_04]: I,

[00:36:08] [SPEAKER_04]: it's a tough one.

[00:36:08] [SPEAKER_04]: Cause he doesn't want to keep anything from Sam.

[00:36:12] [SPEAKER_04]: He wants to like bolster his relationship with Sam.

[00:36:17] [SPEAKER_04]: So I think like,

[00:36:18] [SPEAKER_04]: this is,

[00:36:19] [SPEAKER_04]: this is the point.

[00:36:19] [SPEAKER_04]: You're like,

[00:36:20] [SPEAKER_04]: you hope at every stage,

[00:36:21] [SPEAKER_04]: the person is hoping that nobody,

[00:36:23] [SPEAKER_04]: that,

[00:36:24] [SPEAKER_04]: that they don't go and tell anybody.

[00:36:25] [SPEAKER_04]: Right.

[00:36:25] [SPEAKER_04]: With the three breadwinners,

[00:36:27] [SPEAKER_04]: they're hoping Sierra doesn't go tell Sam and Andy.

[00:36:29] [SPEAKER_04]: When,

[00:36:29] [SPEAKER_04]: when Sierra tells Andy,

[00:36:31] [SPEAKER_04]: she's hoping he doesn't tell Sam.

[00:36:32] [SPEAKER_04]: When Andy tells Sam,

[00:36:33] [SPEAKER_04]: she's hoping she doesn't,

[00:36:34] [SPEAKER_04]: you know,

[00:36:34] [SPEAKER_04]: take it back to Sierra.

[00:36:36] [SPEAKER_04]: And then,

[00:36:36] [SPEAKER_04]: then Sam,

[00:36:37] [SPEAKER_04]: you know,

[00:36:38] [SPEAKER_04]: I mean,

[00:36:39] [SPEAKER_04]: which,

[00:36:39] [SPEAKER_04]: which all happens.

[00:36:40] [SPEAKER_04]: Like everybody talks.

[00:36:41] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.

[00:36:41] [SPEAKER_01]: There's nothing,

[00:36:42] [SPEAKER_01]: there's no currency that people love to spend more than your secret.

[00:36:47] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.

[00:36:47] [SPEAKER_01]: That's a good,

[00:36:48] [SPEAKER_01]: that's a good line.

[00:36:48] [SPEAKER_01]: It's really true.

[00:36:49] [SPEAKER_01]: It's very true.

[00:36:50] [SPEAKER_01]: And so I was like,

[00:36:51] [SPEAKER_01]: Oh my God.

[00:36:51] [SPEAKER_01]: Hey,

[00:36:51] [SPEAKER_01]: you want to,

[00:36:52] [SPEAKER_01]: I got Sierra's secret.

[00:36:53] [SPEAKER_01]: You want to hear it?

[00:36:54] [SPEAKER_01]: So I thought that for Andy,

[00:36:56] [SPEAKER_01]: like,

[00:36:56] [SPEAKER_01]: okay,

[00:36:56] [SPEAKER_01]: good.

[00:36:56] [SPEAKER_01]: He's spending the Sierra secret that he got from Sierra mistake to tell Andy,

[00:37:03] [SPEAKER_01]: I think.

[00:37:03] [SPEAKER_01]: But then I thought for,

[00:37:04] [SPEAKER_01]: and I talked about this with James Jones last night,

[00:37:06] [SPEAKER_01]: I thought it was a mistake for Sam to confront Sierra on it.

[00:37:11] [SPEAKER_01]: Like I just feel like,

[00:37:13] [SPEAKER_01]: yeah,

[00:37:13] [SPEAKER_01]: because now that his objective is I want to keep Andy.

[00:37:17] [SPEAKER_01]: He made it harder on himself to keep Andy by confronting Sierra about,

[00:37:21] [SPEAKER_01]: Hey,

[00:37:21] [SPEAKER_01]: why are you telling Andy the secret?

[00:37:24] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.

[00:37:24] [SPEAKER_04]: And I,

[00:37:24] [SPEAKER_04]: I'm sure that they have like a really good,

[00:37:26] [SPEAKER_04]: like interpersonal relationship where maybe he feels it's okay to kind of

[00:37:29] [SPEAKER_04]: bring this up.

[00:37:31] [SPEAKER_04]: You know,

[00:37:31] [SPEAKER_04]: where he can say like,

[00:37:32] [SPEAKER_04]: Hey,

[00:37:32] [SPEAKER_04]: why aren't you telling me these things?

[00:37:33] [SPEAKER_04]: Why are you telling that to him?

[00:37:34] [SPEAKER_04]: And I'm sure he's just annoyed.

[00:37:35] [SPEAKER_04]: And sometimes when people are annoyed,

[00:37:37] [SPEAKER_04]: they don't act perfectly,

[00:37:38] [SPEAKER_04]: right?

[00:37:38] [SPEAKER_04]: Like they,

[00:37:38] [SPEAKER_04]: they,

[00:37:39] [SPEAKER_04]: they confront people.

[00:37:40] [SPEAKER_04]: They,

[00:37:40] [SPEAKER_04]: they,

[00:37:41] [SPEAKER_04]: you know,

[00:37:41] [SPEAKER_04]: object,

[00:37:42] [SPEAKER_04]: they complain.

[00:37:44] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.

[00:37:44] [SPEAKER_04]: It was also not a good move.

[00:37:47] [SPEAKER_04]: I think for Andy to tell Sam,

[00:37:48] [SPEAKER_04]: because then that could be a piece of Intel,

[00:37:51] [SPEAKER_04]: you know,

[00:37:52] [SPEAKER_04]: just to like build his,

[00:37:53] [SPEAKER_04]: he keeps talking about how important it is for him to build his relationship with

[00:37:56] [SPEAKER_04]: Sierra.

[00:37:57] [SPEAKER_04]: And this was an opportunity to do that.

[00:37:59] [SPEAKER_04]: And there was always the danger of telling Sam that he would bring it up

[00:38:01] [SPEAKER_04]: with Sierra.

[00:38:02] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.

[00:38:02] [SPEAKER_01]: Hey,

[00:38:03] [SPEAKER_01]: look,

[00:38:03] [SPEAKER_01]: I've been there too,

[00:38:04] [SPEAKER_01]: because a lot of times I talk about,

[00:38:06] [SPEAKER_01]: I reveal my secrets all the time on the podcast.

[00:38:10] [SPEAKER_01]: And then sometimes people like slide into my wife's DMS and be like,

[00:38:14] [SPEAKER_01]: Hey,

[00:38:14] [SPEAKER_01]: did you know Rob said,

[00:38:16] [SPEAKER_01]: blah,

[00:38:16] [SPEAKER_01]: blah,

[00:38:16] [SPEAKER_01]: blah,

[00:38:17] [SPEAKER_01]: blah,

[00:38:17] [SPEAKER_01]: blah.

[00:38:17] [SPEAKER_01]: And then she gets mad at me and starts yelling at me.

[00:38:20] [SPEAKER_01]: And I'm like,

[00:38:20] [SPEAKER_01]: who told you this?

[00:38:21] [SPEAKER_01]: Let me know.

[00:38:22] [SPEAKER_01]: So I can ban them from listening to the podcast.

[00:38:25] [SPEAKER_01]: Did you mention your second family on air?

[00:38:27] [SPEAKER_01]: I didn't mention it.

[00:38:28] [SPEAKER_01]: Like,

[00:38:29] [SPEAKER_01]: let me know.

[00:38:29] [SPEAKER_01]: So yeah,

[00:38:30] [SPEAKER_01]: that I could excommunicate them from the RHAP community.

[00:38:35] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.

[00:38:36] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.

[00:38:37] [SPEAKER_01]: And so,

[00:38:38] [SPEAKER_01]: uh,

[00:38:38] [SPEAKER_01]: yeah.

[00:38:39] [SPEAKER_01]: So,

[00:38:39] [SPEAKER_01]: you know,

[00:38:39] [SPEAKER_01]: too much information,

[00:38:40] [SPEAKER_01]: uh,

[00:38:41] [SPEAKER_01]: it doesn't,

[00:38:41] [SPEAKER_01]: and not everybody needs to know everything.

[00:38:43] [SPEAKER_01]: Sometimes things are just between a podcaster and his podcast audience and

[00:38:47] [SPEAKER_01]: not his immediate family.

[00:38:48] [SPEAKER_04]: And I want to say this about Sam.

[00:38:50] [SPEAKER_04]: Okay.

[00:38:51] [SPEAKER_04]: How was his freestyling,

[00:38:54] [SPEAKER_04]: this positive character moment that gets its own confessional about his

[00:38:57] [SPEAKER_04]: freestyling is related to his game.

[00:38:58] [SPEAKER_04]: When my reciting a Gerard Manley Hopkins poem from memory,

[00:39:03] [SPEAKER_04]: you know,

[00:39:04] [SPEAKER_04]: a lot more complex than whatever that dog girl was,

[00:39:07] [SPEAKER_04]: you know,

[00:39:07] [SPEAKER_04]: is,

[00:39:08] [SPEAKER_04]: is portrayed as ridiculous.

[00:39:09] [SPEAKER_01]: Okay.

[00:39:10] [SPEAKER_01]: I got clown music.

[00:39:11] [SPEAKER_01]: The difference is Steven,

[00:39:12] [SPEAKER_01]: that he was freestyling.

[00:39:14] [SPEAKER_01]: His,

[00:39:15] [SPEAKER_01]: his was an original creation.

[00:39:16] [SPEAKER_01]: You were parroting back something that you memorized.

[00:39:19] [SPEAKER_04]: This.

[00:39:20] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.

[00:39:20] [SPEAKER_04]: But that's,

[00:39:20] [SPEAKER_04]: that's what survivor is.

[00:39:21] [SPEAKER_04]: It's all about parroting.

[00:39:22] [SPEAKER_04]: You know,

[00:39:23] [SPEAKER_04]: it's like my game and token chains was based on Rob Sester Nino's game.

[00:39:25] [SPEAKER_04]: You know,

[00:39:26] [SPEAKER_04]: it's all parroting back things that you're like coach,

[00:39:28] [SPEAKER_01]: delivering quotes.

[00:39:29] [SPEAKER_01]: He memorized before he came out there,

[00:39:31] [SPEAKER_01]: maybe to the wrong historical figure.

[00:39:35] Oh God.

[00:39:36] [SPEAKER_04]: It's the first time I think I'm honored to be compared to coach.

[00:39:39] [SPEAKER_04]: Thank you for that.

[00:39:40] [SPEAKER_04]: Listen,

[00:39:40] [SPEAKER_04]: I would much rather be,

[00:39:41] [SPEAKER_04]: be coach,

[00:39:42] [SPEAKER_04]: you know,

[00:39:43] [SPEAKER_04]: but coach coach was also giving,

[00:39:44] [SPEAKER_04]: by the way,

[00:39:45] [SPEAKER_04]: you know,

[00:39:45] [SPEAKER_04]: an original poem speaking with,

[00:39:47] [SPEAKER_04]: which one of us is more like coach.

[00:39:49] [SPEAKER_04]: The one who's creating original garbage or the one who's bringing the,

[00:39:52] [SPEAKER_04]: you know,

[00:39:53] [SPEAKER_04]: the highlights of civilization to the CBS audience.

[00:39:57] [SPEAKER_01]: I,

[00:39:58] [SPEAKER_01]: I'm not sure.

[00:39:59] [SPEAKER_01]: Could go either way.

[00:40:00] [SPEAKER_01]: Gabby in the chat says the clapping for the freestyle was like the clapping for

[00:40:03] [SPEAKER_01]: the coconuts.

[00:40:05] [SPEAKER_04]: Gabby in the chat.

[00:40:05] [SPEAKER_04]: I know that Gabby.

[00:40:07] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.

[00:40:08] [SPEAKER_01]: All right,

[00:40:09] [SPEAKER_01]: Steven.

[00:40:10] [SPEAKER_01]: Let's talk about the amulet advantage.

[00:40:13] [SPEAKER_01]: Now they changed it up a little bit.

[00:40:15] [SPEAKER_01]: Do you feel like did survivor do enough to make this amulet a three-way idol

[00:40:19] [SPEAKER_01]: instead of an extra vote,

[00:40:21] [SPEAKER_01]: a steal a vote,

[00:40:22] [SPEAKER_01]: and then ultimately an idol.

[00:40:24] [SPEAKER_01]: Did they do enough to make it something that players will use constructively?

[00:40:28] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah,

[00:40:29] [SPEAKER_04]: I think it's a really good improvement.

[00:40:31] [SPEAKER_04]: I mean,

[00:40:31] [SPEAKER_04]: because previously the three-way usage of it as an extra vote was so incredibly

[00:40:35] [SPEAKER_04]: situational.

[00:40:36] [SPEAKER_04]: It was never going to happen.

[00:40:37] [SPEAKER_04]: So we're hugely incentivized to both the other people,

[00:40:39] [SPEAKER_04]: other players out,

[00:40:40] [SPEAKER_04]: which obviously was a great storyline,

[00:40:41] [SPEAKER_04]: right.

[00:40:41] [SPEAKER_04]: In,

[00:40:43] [SPEAKER_04]: 45,

[00:40:44] [SPEAKER_04]: very fun.

[00:40:45] [SPEAKER_04]: The way like Austin,

[00:40:45] [SPEAKER_04]: like picked off the other people who had the other parts of the idol and

[00:40:49] [SPEAKER_04]: the idol comes back to haunt him.

[00:40:50] [SPEAKER_04]: Anyway,

[00:40:50] [SPEAKER_04]: very,

[00:40:51] [SPEAKER_04]: very fun,

[00:40:51] [SPEAKER_04]: like whole,

[00:40:52] [SPEAKER_04]: whole arc,

[00:40:52] [SPEAKER_04]: arc there.

[00:40:53] [SPEAKER_04]: But,

[00:40:53] [SPEAKER_04]: but I think they had to realize that there was no real way that it,

[00:40:59] [SPEAKER_04]: you know,

[00:41:00] [SPEAKER_04]: at that point,

[00:41:00] [SPEAKER_04]: that's the strategy,

[00:41:01] [SPEAKER_04]: right.

[00:41:02] [SPEAKER_04]: For,

[00:41:02] [SPEAKER_04]: for that thing.

[00:41:02] [SPEAKER_04]: There's no reason for the three people to work together,

[00:41:05] [SPEAKER_04]: given that the,

[00:41:06] [SPEAKER_04]: that as,

[00:41:07] [SPEAKER_04]: as a trio,

[00:41:08] [SPEAKER_04]: it's,

[00:41:08] [SPEAKER_04]: it's basically useless.

[00:41:10] [SPEAKER_04]: So I think like making it strong as a three,

[00:41:13] [SPEAKER_04]: and then of course,

[00:41:13] [SPEAKER_04]: like stronger as two and stronger as one,

[00:41:14] [SPEAKER_04]: because it's,

[00:41:15] [SPEAKER_04]: it's just yours.

[00:41:15] [SPEAKER_04]: You don't have to share it.

[00:41:16] [SPEAKER_04]: So suddenly I think the tension is a lot more interesting now where there is a

[00:41:20] [SPEAKER_04]: reason to work together.

[00:41:21] [SPEAKER_04]: It does create a bond,

[00:41:22] [SPEAKER_04]: but at the same time,

[00:41:23] [SPEAKER_04]: there's also some tension of,

[00:41:25] [SPEAKER_04]: you know,

[00:41:25] [SPEAKER_04]: some,

[00:41:26] [SPEAKER_04]: some selfish tension of like,

[00:41:27] [SPEAKER_04]: maybe it's good to vote them out.

[00:41:27] [SPEAKER_04]: I think it's,

[00:41:28] [SPEAKER_04]: it's much better time now.

[00:41:29] [SPEAKER_01]: What do you think?

[00:41:30] [SPEAKER_01]: I really,

[00:41:30] [SPEAKER_01]: I agree.

[00:41:30] [SPEAKER_01]: I think it's much better design.

[00:41:32] [SPEAKER_01]: And I thought it was interesting that all the players told their original tribes about

[00:41:36] [SPEAKER_01]: it.

[00:41:36] [SPEAKER_01]: Nobody tried to hide what was going on.

[00:41:38] [SPEAKER_01]: And I think that I don't know if this is necessarily what the players were thinking,

[00:41:42] [SPEAKER_01]: but I think it could be advantageous for them in two different ways.

[00:41:45] [SPEAKER_01]: That one,

[00:41:46] [SPEAKER_01]: I think that for the players who are on their own tribe,

[00:41:50] [SPEAKER_01]: if you're,

[00:41:50] [SPEAKER_01]: you know,

[00:41:51] [SPEAKER_01]: if you're Andy,

[00:41:52] [SPEAKER_01]: you come back and say,

[00:41:53] [SPEAKER_01]: Hey,

[00:41:53] [SPEAKER_01]: I got this thing.

[00:41:54] [SPEAKER_01]: It's like,

[00:41:54] [SPEAKER_01]: well,

[00:41:54] [SPEAKER_01]: now if we get rid of Andy,

[00:41:56] [SPEAKER_01]: now we're,

[00:41:56] [SPEAKER_01]: we're,

[00:41:57] [SPEAKER_01]: we've now given an idol to two people,

[00:41:59] [SPEAKER_01]: like half of an idol to two people that aren't in our tribe.

[00:42:02] [SPEAKER_01]: At least we had some agency.

[00:42:04] [SPEAKER_01]: And I think that with the tribes being even in numbers,

[00:42:07] [SPEAKER_01]: the way they are,

[00:42:08] [SPEAKER_01]: I think that all these other tribes are like,

[00:42:10] [SPEAKER_01]: Oh great.

[00:42:10] [SPEAKER_01]: We'll pull in teeny and Andy now to be in our group,

[00:42:13] [SPEAKER_01]: or now we'll pull in,

[00:42:15] [SPEAKER_01]: you know,

[00:42:16] [SPEAKER_01]: teeny and Caroline to vote with us.

[00:42:17] [SPEAKER_01]: Cause they're connected to this person.

[00:42:19] [SPEAKER_01]: So I,

[00:42:19] [SPEAKER_01]: I think it makes all the amulet holders,

[00:42:22] [SPEAKER_01]: like these interesting people that the other tribes think that they might be able to pick up and pull in with them.

[00:42:28] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.

[00:42:29] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.

[00:42:29] [SPEAKER_04]: That's a great point.

[00:42:30] [SPEAKER_04]: That's a really,

[00:42:30] [SPEAKER_04]: really good point where suddenly it's creating this whole,

[00:42:34] [SPEAKER_04]: you know,

[00:42:34] [SPEAKER_04]: show wide dynamic of who's going to be with me.

[00:42:36] [SPEAKER_04]: Who can I recruit?

[00:42:38] [SPEAKER_04]: You know,

[00:42:39] [SPEAKER_04]: and kudos to Andy too,

[00:42:40] [SPEAKER_04]: by the way,

[00:42:40] [SPEAKER_04]: for again,

[00:42:41] [SPEAKER_04]: so thoughtfully positioning himself as on the bottom,

[00:42:43] [SPEAKER_04]: which has some credibility.

[00:42:46] [SPEAKER_04]: He did a great job with that.

[00:42:47] [SPEAKER_01]: But I loved how he came in and didn't like,

[00:42:50] [SPEAKER_01]: I'm not going to tell you everything.

[00:42:52] [SPEAKER_01]: It's like,

[00:42:52] [SPEAKER_01]: Hey,

[00:42:52] [SPEAKER_01]: let's just say like,

[00:42:53] [SPEAKER_01]: I'm at the bottom and I'm a good person to pick up later.

[00:42:56] [SPEAKER_01]: It's almost like,

[00:42:57] [SPEAKER_01]: and you play in like blood on the clock tower,

[00:42:59] [SPEAKER_01]: for instance,

[00:43:00] [SPEAKER_01]: it's like,

[00:43:00] [SPEAKER_01]: Hey,

[00:43:00] [SPEAKER_01]: I have a role that'll help the,

[00:43:03] [SPEAKER_01]: uh,

[00:43:03] [SPEAKER_01]: the good guys,

[00:43:04] [SPEAKER_01]: uh,

[00:43:04] [SPEAKER_01]: trust me on this.

[00:43:06] [SPEAKER_01]: And like,

[00:43:07] [SPEAKER_01]: you'll need me later.

[00:43:08] [SPEAKER_04]: Right.

[00:43:09] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah,

[00:43:09] [SPEAKER_04]: exactly.

[00:43:10] [SPEAKER_04]: Exactly.

[00:43:10] [SPEAKER_04]: And he did it,

[00:43:11] [SPEAKER_04]: you know,

[00:43:11] [SPEAKER_04]: he's very smart.

[00:43:12] [SPEAKER_04]: Right.

[00:43:12] [SPEAKER_04]: I mean,

[00:43:13] [SPEAKER_04]: uh,

[00:43:13] [SPEAKER_04]: you know,

[00:43:13] [SPEAKER_04]: show,

[00:43:14] [SPEAKER_04]: show them that he's available to be,

[00:43:15] [SPEAKER_04]: to be picked up.

[00:43:16] [SPEAKER_04]: I mean,

[00:43:16] [SPEAKER_04]: Rome,

[00:43:17] [SPEAKER_04]: Rome,

[00:43:17] [SPEAKER_04]: you know,

[00:43:17] [SPEAKER_04]: fishy winner,

[00:43:18] [SPEAKER_04]: Rome did something very similar.

[00:43:21] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.

[00:43:21] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.

[00:43:22] [SPEAKER_04]: I mean,

[00:43:22] [SPEAKER_04]: you know,

[00:43:22] [SPEAKER_04]: two separate fishies,

[00:43:23] [SPEAKER_04]: they each get a fishy,

[00:43:24] [SPEAKER_04]: you know,

[00:43:24] [SPEAKER_04]: you don't like,

[00:43:24] [SPEAKER_04]: uh,

[00:43:25] [SPEAKER_04]: you know,

[00:43:26] [SPEAKER_04]: I think it's interesting because the Emmy rules,

[00:43:28] [SPEAKER_04]: you know,

[00:43:28] [SPEAKER_04]: I know the Emmy rules from,

[00:43:29] [SPEAKER_04]: from time to TV.

[00:43:30] [SPEAKER_04]: I wonder if it's the same thing at the Oscars.

[00:43:31] [SPEAKER_04]: Like it's very specific who gets to get a real statuette.

[00:43:34] [SPEAKER_04]: And I think,

[00:43:34] [SPEAKER_04]: you know,

[00:43:34] [SPEAKER_04]: both Rome and Genevieve get statuettes.

[00:43:38] [SPEAKER_01]: Steven,

[00:43:39] [SPEAKER_01]: let's get to some questions because a lot of people had questions about,

[00:43:42] [SPEAKER_01]: uh,

[00:43:42] [SPEAKER_01]: this,

[00:43:43] [SPEAKER_01]: uh,

[00:43:43] [SPEAKER_01]: very exciting episode.

[00:43:45] [SPEAKER_01]: Okay.

[00:43:46] [SPEAKER_01]: And,

[00:43:47] [SPEAKER_01]: uh,

[00:43:47] [SPEAKER_01]: Marco wants to know,

[00:43:48] [SPEAKER_01]: is the amulet worthless now until there's one person left?

[00:43:51] [SPEAKER_01]: Uh,

[00:43:51] [SPEAKER_01]: should they have kept it,

[00:43:53] [SPEAKER_01]: uh,

[00:43:53] [SPEAKER_01]: more of an incentive to keep it a,

[00:43:56] secret?

[00:43:56] [SPEAKER_04]: Um,

[00:43:57] [SPEAKER_04]: it is funny that they all shared it,

[00:43:58] [SPEAKER_04]: you know,

[00:43:59] [SPEAKER_04]: that they all kind of,

[00:43:59] [SPEAKER_04]: I wonder if they agreed on that,

[00:44:01] [SPEAKER_04]: that we're all just going to go tell,

[00:44:02] [SPEAKER_04]: do you think that actually,

[00:44:03] [SPEAKER_04]: that's a question,

[00:44:04] [SPEAKER_04]: Rob,

[00:44:04] [SPEAKER_04]: do you think that that is an important subject of conversation?

[00:44:07] [SPEAKER_04]: Like how much we're telling?

[00:44:08] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.

[00:44:09] [SPEAKER_04]: They,

[00:44:09] [SPEAKER_04]: they must be,

[00:44:09] [SPEAKER_04]: they must be asking each other this,

[00:44:11] [SPEAKER_04]: right?

[00:44:11] [SPEAKER_04]: Like how much we're telling our tribes about this.

[00:44:12] [SPEAKER_04]: Are we sharing it?

[00:44:13] [SPEAKER_04]: Are we keeping a secret?

[00:44:14] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.

[00:44:14] [SPEAKER_01]: And I think that in Andy and in teeny,

[00:44:17] [SPEAKER_01]: I think that they are mostly truth tellers in terms of like what they're going to tell the tribe.

[00:44:22] [SPEAKER_01]: So I think that they're going to go back.

[00:44:23] [SPEAKER_01]: And,

[00:44:24] [SPEAKER_01]: and so for Caroline who might be more inclined to keep things a secret,

[00:44:27] [SPEAKER_01]: I think that,

[00:44:28] [SPEAKER_01]: um,

[00:44:29] [SPEAKER_01]: you know,

[00:44:30] [SPEAKER_01]: it ends up being just like a,

[00:44:31] [SPEAKER_01]: um,

[00:44:32] [SPEAKER_01]: mutually agreed upon a decision.

[00:44:34] [SPEAKER_01]: So the team negotiation.

[00:44:36] [SPEAKER_01]: Yes,

[00:44:36] [SPEAKER_01]: I think so.

[00:44:37] [SPEAKER_01]: I think that teeny,

[00:44:38] [SPEAKER_01]: if I'm teeny and I know in my heart of hearts,

[00:44:41] [SPEAKER_01]: I'm going to say yes.

[00:44:43] [SPEAKER_01]: You say yes with,

[00:44:44] [SPEAKER_01]: you say,

[00:44:44] [SPEAKER_01]: I'm going to do it with one second left on the clock.

[00:44:47] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.

[00:44:47] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.

[00:44:48] [SPEAKER_04]: Right.

[00:44:48] [SPEAKER_04]: But she,

[00:44:49] [SPEAKER_04]: I even felt like out of the gate,

[00:44:51] [SPEAKER_04]: like both Caroline and Andy were like,

[00:44:52] [SPEAKER_04]: no,

[00:44:53] [SPEAKER_04]: no.

[00:44:53] [SPEAKER_04]: And she's like,

[00:44:53] [SPEAKER_04]: well,

[00:44:54] [SPEAKER_04]: what if,

[00:44:55] [SPEAKER_04]: and at that point she's already lost.

[00:44:57] [SPEAKER_01]: Right.

[00:44:57] [SPEAKER_01]: It seemed like that Caroline was going to,

[00:45:00] [SPEAKER_01]: uh,

[00:45:01] [SPEAKER_01]: potentially,

[00:45:02] [SPEAKER_01]: you know,

[00:45:03] [SPEAKER_01]: like they presented it like Caroline was about to blur that.

[00:45:05] [SPEAKER_01]: I just think that it,

[00:45:06] [SPEAKER_01]: I don't have as much of an issue with teeny ultimately giving up,

[00:45:10] [SPEAKER_01]: uh,

[00:45:10] [SPEAKER_01]: the vote,

[00:45:11] [SPEAKER_01]: but I do feel like that,

[00:45:12] [SPEAKER_01]: that that was with,

[00:45:13] [SPEAKER_01]: you know,

[00:45:14] [SPEAKER_01]: you know,

[00:45:14] [SPEAKER_01]: two minutes left.

[00:45:16] [SPEAKER_01]: A lot of things could happen.

[00:45:17] [SPEAKER_01]: Somebody else could panic.

[00:45:19] [SPEAKER_04]: Well,

[00:45:19] [SPEAKER_04]: and teeny had the best rationale of we're going tonight.

[00:45:23] [SPEAKER_04]: You know,

[00:45:24] [SPEAKER_04]: I mean,

[00:45:24] [SPEAKER_04]: I feel like that would be incontrovertible.

[00:45:27] [SPEAKER_04]: You know what I mean?

[00:45:27] [SPEAKER_04]: They all know Andy's on the bottom,

[00:45:29] [SPEAKER_04]: so maybe he wants his vote,

[00:45:30] [SPEAKER_04]: but I think that teeny could really have drawn a line there and said,

[00:45:34] [SPEAKER_04]: you know,

[00:45:35] [SPEAKER_04]: we're going to,

[00:45:35] [SPEAKER_04]: I can't,

[00:45:36] [SPEAKER_04]: you know,

[00:45:37] [SPEAKER_04]: so,

[00:45:37] [SPEAKER_01]: but from teeny's perspective,

[00:45:38] [SPEAKER_01]: it seemed like that going to tribal,

[00:45:41] [SPEAKER_01]: it seemed like a little bit more of an open and shut case,

[00:45:42] [SPEAKER_01]: but you know,

[00:45:43] [SPEAKER_01]: that survivor things change.

[00:45:44] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.

[00:45:45] [SPEAKER_01]: But Steven,

[00:45:46] [SPEAKER_01]: okay.

[00:45:46] [SPEAKER_01]: Can I get you to,

[00:45:48] [SPEAKER_01]: uh,

[00:45:49] [SPEAKER_01]: lock in?

[00:45:50] [SPEAKER_01]: Will the idol,

[00:45:52] [SPEAKER_01]: the amulet idol be played this season by three or two people?

[00:45:57] [SPEAKER_01]: Oh,

[00:45:58] [SPEAKER_01]: wow.

[00:45:58] [SPEAKER_01]: Or,

[00:45:59] [SPEAKER_01]: or,

[00:45:59] [SPEAKER_01]: or will it end up,

[00:46:01] [SPEAKER_01]: uh,

[00:46:01] [SPEAKER_01]: going down to,

[00:46:02] [SPEAKER_01]: uh,

[00:46:03] [SPEAKER_01]: like will,

[00:46:03] [SPEAKER_01]: will players successfully combine to use the amulet?

[00:46:07] [SPEAKER_01]: Yes or no.

[00:46:07] [SPEAKER_01]: This is just guess,

[00:46:08] [SPEAKER_01]: right?

[00:46:08] [SPEAKER_01]: I'm just,

[00:46:09] [SPEAKER_01]: I'll take me in the middle.

[00:46:10] [SPEAKER_01]: I'll say two.

[00:46:11] [SPEAKER_01]: Well,

[00:46:11] [SPEAKER_01]: I,

[00:46:11] [SPEAKER_01]: I wasn't even,

[00:46:12] [SPEAKER_01]: so that I was just looking for a yes or no,

[00:46:15] [SPEAKER_01]: you don't even have to specify three or two.

[00:46:18] [SPEAKER_01]: Yes.

[00:46:18] [SPEAKER_01]: Okay.

[00:46:19] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.

[00:46:21] [SPEAKER_01]: That would be exciting if it could happen.

[00:46:23] [SPEAKER_01]: What do you think?

[00:46:24] [SPEAKER_01]: I'm going to say,

[00:46:24] [SPEAKER_01]: no,

[00:46:25] [SPEAKER_01]: I think that the odds are still against the people agreeing upon it.

[00:46:28] [SPEAKER_01]: Like,

[00:46:28] [SPEAKER_01]: and maybe there could be some sort of like,

[00:46:31] [SPEAKER_01]: uh,

[00:46:31] [SPEAKER_01]: alliance of,

[00:46:32] [SPEAKER_01]: uh,

[00:46:33] [SPEAKER_01]: people that are on the bottom coming together.

[00:46:35] [SPEAKER_01]: And then maybe it's sort of like a day,

[00:46:37] [SPEAKER_01]: uh,

[00:46:37] [SPEAKER_01]: you know,

[00:46:37] [SPEAKER_01]: shout out to Gabby,

[00:46:38] [SPEAKER_01]: like the David's coming together to use their advantage.

[00:46:41] [SPEAKER_01]: But I'm going to say the odds are still more against them being able to use it.

[00:46:45] [SPEAKER_04]: I mean,

[00:46:45] [SPEAKER_04]: Katie and Andy,

[00:46:46] [SPEAKER_04]: both in not great spots on their tribe right now.

[00:46:48] [SPEAKER_01]: Yep.

[00:46:50] [SPEAKER_01]: So we'll see.

[00:46:51] [SPEAKER_01]: All right.

[00:46:53] [SPEAKER_01]: Josh Kettles has a Steven specific question.

[00:46:56] [SPEAKER_01]: Can Steven explain to us the difference between a threat and an ultimatum?

[00:47:02] [SPEAKER_04]: I feel like an ultimatum is like an if then statement,

[00:47:05] [SPEAKER_04]: right?

[00:47:05] [SPEAKER_04]: Like if this happens,

[00:47:07] [SPEAKER_04]: then I am going to do this for a threat is like,

[00:47:08] [SPEAKER_04]: it's just an if state,

[00:47:09] [SPEAKER_04]: you know,

[00:47:10] [SPEAKER_04]: like it's like,

[00:47:11] [SPEAKER_04]: if you like,

[00:47:11] [SPEAKER_04]: like there's no,

[00:47:12] [SPEAKER_04]: it's a threat is a little more open ended,

[00:47:13] [SPEAKER_04]: right?

[00:47:13] [SPEAKER_04]: I'm going to get you.

[00:47:14] [SPEAKER_04]: If you,

[00:47:15] [SPEAKER_04]: if you do this,

[00:47:17] [SPEAKER_04]: but like,

[00:47:17] [SPEAKER_04]: there's like a more of like a,

[00:47:19] [SPEAKER_04]: a definitive conclusion.

[00:47:21] [SPEAKER_01]: So I feel like that there is a difference between a threat and an ultimatum.

[00:47:24] [SPEAKER_01]: Uh,

[00:47:25] [SPEAKER_01]: I,

[00:47:25] [SPEAKER_01]: but I think it's a different question of that was what Rome was doing a,

[00:47:29] [SPEAKER_01]: like basically if I say like,

[00:47:31] [SPEAKER_01]: Hey,

[00:47:31] [SPEAKER_01]: like,

[00:47:32] [SPEAKER_01]: you know,

[00:47:32] [SPEAKER_01]: if you know,

[00:47:34] [SPEAKER_01]: you say to somebody,

[00:47:34] [SPEAKER_01]: Hey,

[00:47:34] [SPEAKER_01]: if you're late again,

[00:47:36] [SPEAKER_01]: uh,

[00:47:37] [SPEAKER_01]: I'm going to have to fire you,

[00:47:40] [SPEAKER_01]: you know?

[00:47:40] [SPEAKER_01]: Uh,

[00:47:40] [SPEAKER_01]: so yes.

[00:47:42] [SPEAKER_01]: Um,

[00:47:43] [SPEAKER_01]: but was what Rome was doing to Saul,

[00:47:46] [SPEAKER_01]: was that an ultimatum versus a threat?

[00:47:50] [SPEAKER_04]: I think it was an ultimatum,

[00:47:52] [SPEAKER_04]: right?

[00:47:52] [SPEAKER_04]: If you don't give me your shot in the dark,

[00:47:55] [SPEAKER_04]: I will vote you out.

[00:47:56] [SPEAKER_04]: Right.

[00:47:57] [SPEAKER_04]: So,

[00:47:57] [SPEAKER_04]: so Google is saying an ultimatum,

[00:47:59] [SPEAKER_04]: is a demand.

[00:48:00] [SPEAKER_04]: Like there's like a,

[00:48:02] [SPEAKER_04]: like less focus on the punishment or the harm,

[00:48:04] [SPEAKER_04]: but instead it's a demand.

[00:48:05] [SPEAKER_04]: So it's like,

[00:48:05] [SPEAKER_04]: you have to do this thing or,

[00:48:08] [SPEAKER_04]: you know,

[00:48:09] [SPEAKER_04]: there's a threat.

[00:48:09] [SPEAKER_04]: It's like,

[00:48:09] [SPEAKER_04]: I'm going to miss,

[00:48:10] [SPEAKER_04]: you know,

[00:48:11] [SPEAKER_04]: there's a demand attached to it.

[00:48:12] [SPEAKER_04]: And there was a demand.

[00:48:13] [SPEAKER_04]: If you give me your shot in the dark or this will happen.

[00:48:16] [SPEAKER_04]: Um,

[00:48:16] [SPEAKER_04]: I mean,

[00:48:17] [SPEAKER_04]: you know,

[00:48:17] [SPEAKER_04]: an ultimatum can clearly be threatened.

[00:48:19] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.

[00:48:19] [SPEAKER_01]: Is the word,

[00:48:20] [SPEAKER_01]: if just the only difference there of like,

[00:48:23] [SPEAKER_01]: give me your shot in the dark or you're going home is a threat.

[00:48:27] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.

[00:48:28] [SPEAKER_01]: If you don't give me your shot in the dark,

[00:48:30] [SPEAKER_01]: I am going to vote you out.

[00:48:31] [SPEAKER_01]: Right.

[00:48:32] [SPEAKER_01]: Is an ultimatum.

[00:48:32] [SPEAKER_01]: But if you give me the shot in the dark,

[00:48:34] [SPEAKER_01]: then I won't vote you out.

[00:48:35] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.

[00:48:35] [SPEAKER_01]: That's interesting.

[00:48:36] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.

[00:48:36] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.

[00:48:37] [SPEAKER_01]: Okay.

[00:48:38] [SPEAKER_01]: So I felt very badly for Saul.

[00:48:41] [SPEAKER_01]: Oh my gosh.

[00:48:42] [SPEAKER_01]: But like,

[00:48:42] [SPEAKER_04]: you also considering that Rome was still going to vote him out.

[00:48:45] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.

[00:48:45] [SPEAKER_04]: Well,

[00:48:46] [SPEAKER_04]: yeah.

[00:48:46] [SPEAKER_04]: But I mean,

[00:48:47] [SPEAKER_04]: the thing with Rome following him around the beach,

[00:48:49] [SPEAKER_04]: you know,

[00:48:49] [SPEAKER_04]: how many times in the past have we said made,

[00:48:52] [SPEAKER_04]: you know,

[00:48:53] [SPEAKER_04]: mocked players for not locking down their target.

[00:48:55] [SPEAKER_04]: Right.

[00:48:55] [SPEAKER_04]: Like,

[00:48:56] [SPEAKER_04]: you know,

[00:48:56] [SPEAKER_04]: I mean with Ben in,

[00:48:58] [SPEAKER_04]: you know,

[00:48:58] [SPEAKER_04]: healers,

[00:48:59] [SPEAKER_04]: heroes,

[00:48:59] [SPEAKER_04]: hustlers,

[00:49:00] [SPEAKER_04]: you know,

[00:49:00] [SPEAKER_04]: Oh,

[00:49:00] [SPEAKER_04]: and then they,

[00:49:01] [SPEAKER_04]: they cut back and forth with,

[00:49:02] [SPEAKER_04]: with everybody on the beach kind of lazing around.

[00:49:04] [SPEAKER_04]: And then we're like,

[00:49:04] [SPEAKER_04]: these idiots,

[00:49:05] [SPEAKER_04]: why are they not following Ben around?

[00:49:07] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.

[00:49:08] [SPEAKER_04]: And he's doing it.

[00:49:09] [SPEAKER_04]: He's doing the things that we make fun of people for not doing.

[00:49:12] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.

[00:49:12] [SPEAKER_01]: In fairness to what he's doing,

[00:49:15] [SPEAKER_01]: even though he is not doing it with like the grace of like Andrea

[00:49:20] [SPEAKER_01]: following Malcolm around.

[00:49:22] [SPEAKER_01]: Like,

[00:49:22] [SPEAKER_01]: I think that,

[00:49:23] [SPEAKER_01]: you know,

[00:49:23] [SPEAKER_01]: when Rome was running around looking for idols,

[00:49:25] [SPEAKER_01]: like there was a lot of like,

[00:49:27] [SPEAKER_01]: like,

[00:49:28] [SPEAKER_01]: can you believe this guy?

[00:49:29] [SPEAKER_01]: Can you believe it?

[00:49:31] [SPEAKER_01]: I have idols.

[00:49:32] [SPEAKER_01]: I can't believe in this guy.

[00:49:33] [SPEAKER_01]: But there was no,

[00:49:34] [SPEAKER_01]: like,

[00:49:34] [SPEAKER_01]: uh,

[00:49:35] [SPEAKER_01]: people weren't trying to stop him physically.

[00:49:39] [SPEAKER_01]: And Rome at least is like,

[00:49:41] [SPEAKER_01]: okay,

[00:49:41] [SPEAKER_01]: well he,

[00:49:43] [SPEAKER_01]: you may not agree with his methods,

[00:49:44] [SPEAKER_01]: but it was effective.

[00:49:47] [SPEAKER_04]: Yes.

[00:49:48] [SPEAKER_04]: I mean,

[00:49:48] [SPEAKER_04]: like,

[00:49:48] [SPEAKER_04]: you know,

[00:49:49] [SPEAKER_04]: in Cambodia,

[00:49:49] [SPEAKER_04]: when Joey was out looking for idols,

[00:49:51] [SPEAKER_04]: I would follow him to be out looking for idols.

[00:49:52] [SPEAKER_04]: Like that to me is how you play survivor.

[00:49:54] [SPEAKER_04]: You know,

[00:49:55] [SPEAKER_04]: if you like your fate in the game could be dependent on this person

[00:49:58] [SPEAKER_04]: playing.

[00:49:59] [SPEAKER_04]: And,

[00:49:59] [SPEAKER_04]: and Rome knows that his is right.

[00:50:01] [SPEAKER_04]: Like he knows that Saul wants him out.

[00:50:03] [SPEAKER_04]: Saul is his target.

[00:50:04] [SPEAKER_04]: If Saul gets an idol,

[00:50:04] [SPEAKER_04]: his plan is screwed.

[00:50:06] [SPEAKER_04]: Of course you should be following him.

[00:50:07] [SPEAKER_04]: Now,

[00:50:07] [SPEAKER_04]: was there like a gentler way he could have done it?

[00:50:10] [SPEAKER_04]: I feel like that's like,

[00:50:11] [SPEAKER_04]: you know,

[00:50:11] [SPEAKER_04]: picking,

[00:50:12] [SPEAKER_04]: splitting hairs.

[00:50:13] [SPEAKER_04]: Like,

[00:50:13] [SPEAKER_04]: um,

[00:50:14] [SPEAKER_04]: you know,

[00:50:14] [SPEAKER_04]: like he was doing the thing that he should be doing.

[00:50:17] [SPEAKER_04]: He wasn't doing it in like the optimal way,

[00:50:18] [SPEAKER_04]: but there's no great way to like tail someone around an island for hours at a time.

[00:50:24] [SPEAKER_04]: You know,

[00:50:24] [SPEAKER_04]: I did think the stuff with like,

[00:50:26] [SPEAKER_04]: you have to give me your shot in the dark or I'm going to vote you out was a little unnecessarily aggressive.

[00:50:32] [SPEAKER_04]: But,

[00:50:32] [SPEAKER_04]: um,

[00:50:33] [SPEAKER_04]: also like,

[00:50:35] [SPEAKER_04]: why is that?

[00:50:36] [SPEAKER_04]: Like,

[00:50:36] [SPEAKER_04]: and honestly,

[00:50:37] [SPEAKER_04]: I honestly like so much of it was Saul's indignation,

[00:50:38] [SPEAKER_04]: you know,

[00:50:39] [SPEAKER_04]: the sense of like Saul being so beaten down by what was happening to him that like Rome should have like taking his foot off the gas as a human.

[00:50:46] [SPEAKER_04]: But from a purely strategic standpoint,

[00:50:49] [SPEAKER_04]: the idea of like muscling someone to give you something,

[00:50:52] [SPEAKER_04]: you know,

[00:50:52] [SPEAKER_04]: as leverage to work with them,

[00:50:54] [SPEAKER_04]: knowing that you're going to screw them over anyway.

[00:50:55] [SPEAKER_04]: Like that's,

[00:50:56] [SPEAKER_04]: that's,

[00:50:56] [SPEAKER_04]: that's a decent survivor play.

[00:50:57] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.

[00:50:57] [SPEAKER_01]: I think that the issue was when Saul is like saying like,

[00:51:00] [SPEAKER_01]: Hey,

[00:51:01] [SPEAKER_01]: can I just go sit on the beach?

[00:51:02] [SPEAKER_01]: He's like,

[00:51:03] [SPEAKER_01]: well,

[00:51:03] [SPEAKER_01]: I'm going to be right next to you.

[00:51:04] [SPEAKER_01]: It's like,

[00:51:04] [SPEAKER_01]: I think it's a point you,

[00:51:06] [SPEAKER_01]: you can just watch Saul and sit on the beach.

[00:51:09] [SPEAKER_01]: And it's like,

[00:51:09] [SPEAKER_01]: all right,

[00:51:10] [SPEAKER_01]: all right.

[00:51:10] [SPEAKER_01]: Like,

[00:51:11] [SPEAKER_01]: that's take five Saul.

[00:51:12] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.

[00:51:13] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.

[00:51:13] [SPEAKER_01]: Cause Saul not looking for the idol is also a break for you.

[00:51:16] [SPEAKER_01]: So I think that he could have like a given Saul,

[00:51:19] [SPEAKER_01]: like a little bit of breathing room.

[00:51:21] [SPEAKER_01]: Okay.

[00:51:21] [SPEAKER_01]: If you're not,

[00:51:22] [SPEAKER_01]: you're fine.

[00:51:23] [SPEAKER_04]: But like,

[00:51:24] [SPEAKER_04]: you know,

[00:51:24] [SPEAKER_04]: if on survivor,

[00:51:25] [SPEAKER_04]: you are going to air one way,

[00:51:27] [SPEAKER_04]: you should air as being like more vigilant rather than less vigilant.

[00:51:30] [SPEAKER_04]: I think like,

[00:51:31] [SPEAKER_04]: you know,

[00:51:31] [SPEAKER_04]: I mean,

[00:51:31] [SPEAKER_04]: we've certainly,

[00:51:32] [SPEAKER_04]: again,

[00:51:32] [SPEAKER_04]: like how many times in the past have people just like,

[00:51:34] [SPEAKER_04]: let their targets wander off,

[00:51:36] [SPEAKER_04]: find an idol and ruin their plans.

[00:51:37] [SPEAKER_04]: And we,

[00:51:37] [SPEAKER_04]: we don't like applaud them for their humanity.

[00:51:40] [SPEAKER_01]: And I really liked the way that Keyshawn was like,

[00:51:42] [SPEAKER_01]: Hey Rome,

[00:51:43] [SPEAKER_01]: you better go check.

[00:51:44] [SPEAKER_01]: Like a better.

[00:51:44] [SPEAKER_01]: Like if somebody has got to do it better,

[00:51:46] [SPEAKER_01]: it's not you.

[00:51:48] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.

[00:51:48] [SPEAKER_04]: I mean,

[00:51:50] [SPEAKER_04]: very well played by Keyshawn for,

[00:51:52] [SPEAKER_04]: you know,

[00:51:53] [SPEAKER_04]: stoking that antagonism to the point that it almost saved him.

[00:51:56] [SPEAKER_04]: You know,

[00:51:57] [SPEAKER_04]: like the antagonism was so intense that at least from the story we saw,

[00:52:00] [SPEAKER_04]: um,

[00:52:00] [SPEAKER_04]: it almost was,

[00:52:01] [SPEAKER_04]: he almost had it this week.

[00:52:02] [SPEAKER_01]: He almost,

[00:52:03] [SPEAKER_01]: he,

[00:52:04] [SPEAKER_01]: uh,

[00:52:04] [SPEAKER_01]: almost like this could have been like,

[00:52:06] [SPEAKER_01]: uh,

[00:52:06] [SPEAKER_01]: he was like one,

[00:52:08] [SPEAKER_01]: like a little,

[00:52:09] [SPEAKER_01]: like he was 99% of the way there to this,

[00:52:11] [SPEAKER_01]: just being a Keyshawn love fest this week.

[00:52:13] [SPEAKER_04]: You know where he went wrong,

[00:52:15] [SPEAKER_04]: Rob was when his floating head started talking to Genevieve.

[00:52:19] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.

[00:52:19] [SPEAKER_04]: Ideally.

[00:52:20] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.

[00:52:20] [SPEAKER_04]: That's where he was screwed up.

[00:52:21] [SPEAKER_01]: Right.

[00:52:22] [SPEAKER_01]: If you could,

[00:52:23] [SPEAKER_01]: if you could avoid that to her,

[00:52:24] [SPEAKER_01]: like,

[00:52:25] [SPEAKER_01]: uh,

[00:52:25] [SPEAKER_01]: her inner monologue,

[00:52:26] [SPEAKER_01]: uh,

[00:52:26] [SPEAKER_01]: really,

[00:52:27] [SPEAKER_01]: uh,

[00:52:27] [SPEAKER_01]: saving the day.

[00:52:29] [SPEAKER_01]: Okay.

[00:52:29] [SPEAKER_01]: So Steven,

[00:52:31] [SPEAKER_01]: uh,

[00:52:31] [SPEAKER_01]: this is a question from LL cool dubs.

[00:52:34] [SPEAKER_01]: What is it about this season that we're getting so much more dynamic gameplay within the small tribes?

[00:52:39] [SPEAKER_04]: That's a good question.

[00:52:40] [SPEAKER_04]: I mean,

[00:52:40] [SPEAKER_04]: first of all,

[00:52:40] [SPEAKER_04]: the fact that it's balanced,

[00:52:41] [SPEAKER_04]: I think has helped a lot,

[00:52:42] [SPEAKER_04]: right?

[00:52:43] [SPEAKER_04]: Like not having an absolute disaster tribe where we just see like the absolute,

[00:52:46] [SPEAKER_04]: you know,

[00:52:46] [SPEAKER_04]: the total implosion of not just a tribe,

[00:52:49] [SPEAKER_04]: but like six humans is,

[00:52:50] [SPEAKER_04]: is,

[00:52:51] [SPEAKER_04]: is,

[00:52:51] [SPEAKER_04]: is nice.

[00:52:51] [SPEAKER_04]: And also has kept,

[00:52:53] [SPEAKER_04]: I think some of the energy level up,

[00:52:54] [SPEAKER_04]: the sense of competition up.

[00:52:56] [SPEAKER_04]: Um,

[00:52:56] [SPEAKER_04]: you know,

[00:52:56] [SPEAKER_04]: I do think some of it too is the shorter term advantages,

[00:53:01] [SPEAKER_04]: right.

[00:53:02] [SPEAKER_04]: Which are driving some of the strategy,

[00:53:04] [SPEAKER_04]: um,

[00:53:04] [SPEAKER_04]: you know,

[00:53:05] [SPEAKER_04]: both because the players are so aware of what happened last season.

[00:53:08] [SPEAKER_04]: And also because of these new,

[00:53:09] [SPEAKER_04]: you know,

[00:53:09] [SPEAKER_04]: fun boxes,

[00:53:10] [SPEAKER_04]: um,

[00:53:11] [SPEAKER_04]: you know,

[00:53:11] [SPEAKER_04]: that they,

[00:53:12] [SPEAKER_04]: that they created a,

[00:53:13] [SPEAKER_04]: uh,

[00:53:13] [SPEAKER_04]: survivor just on their Instagram,

[00:53:14] [SPEAKER_04]: had a thing about the Flint team that makes these boxes.

[00:53:17] [SPEAKER_04]: And,

[00:53:18] [SPEAKER_04]: you know,

[00:53:18] [SPEAKER_04]: having this kind of like tiered,

[00:53:21] [SPEAKER_04]: uh,

[00:53:21] [SPEAKER_04]: advantages,

[00:53:22] [SPEAKER_04]: I think was,

[00:53:23] [SPEAKER_04]: was a really smart choice that has kind of helped power to the,

[00:53:26] [SPEAKER_04]: um,

[00:53:26] [SPEAKER_04]: does,

[00:53:26] [SPEAKER_04]: does this change your opinion,

[00:53:27] [SPEAKER_04]: Rob about the three tribes at all?

[00:53:29] [SPEAKER_01]: Uh,

[00:53:29] [SPEAKER_01]: a little bit.

[00:53:30] [SPEAKER_01]: Like,

[00:53:30] [SPEAKER_01]: I feel like that it's certainly been better this season where we don't

[00:53:35] [SPEAKER_01]: have just like,

[00:53:35] [SPEAKER_01]: it's not as lopsided.

[00:53:37] [SPEAKER_01]: And I think that maybe they get more lucky than it's necessarily like

[00:53:40] [SPEAKER_01]: that.

[00:53:40] [SPEAKER_01]: They've,

[00:53:41] [SPEAKER_01]: uh,

[00:53:41] [SPEAKER_01]: changed something by design.

[00:53:43] [SPEAKER_01]: And so it's been pretty good.

[00:53:45] [SPEAKER_01]: I think that what,

[00:53:46] [SPEAKER_01]: uh,

[00:53:47] [SPEAKER_01]: you said about all three of the tribes going to tribal council,

[00:53:51] [SPEAKER_01]: I think that that is a really big part of it where that,

[00:53:54] [SPEAKER_01]: you know,

[00:53:54] [SPEAKER_01]: we've had where it's usually like one tribe doesn't even go to tribal

[00:53:58] [SPEAKER_01]: council.

[00:53:58] [SPEAKER_01]: And there's such a learning curve where that the people that haven't been to

[00:54:01] [SPEAKER_01]: tribal council yet,

[00:54:03] [SPEAKER_01]: they're a little bit hapless the first time that they go.

[00:54:05] [SPEAKER_01]: But the fact that everybody like Jeff talked about,

[00:54:08] [SPEAKER_01]: I forgot,

[00:54:09] [SPEAKER_01]: uh,

[00:54:09] [SPEAKER_01]: to,

[00:54:09] [SPEAKER_01]: he said it in the tribal council last week.

[00:54:11] [SPEAKER_01]: He's like,

[00:54:12] [SPEAKER_01]: Oh,

[00:54:12] [SPEAKER_01]: Lavu tribe.

[00:54:13] [SPEAKER_01]: Uh,

[00:54:13] [SPEAKER_01]: this is your first tribal council.

[00:54:14] [SPEAKER_01]: Some people would say you haven't even started playing survivor yet,

[00:54:17] [SPEAKER_01]: but the fact that all three tribes have gone there,

[00:54:20] [SPEAKER_01]: they've all like been to a tribal council.

[00:54:22] [SPEAKER_01]: It's only day eight that I do think that we're going to see a very fast

[00:54:27] [SPEAKER_01]: paced,

[00:54:27] [SPEAKER_01]: uh,

[00:54:28] [SPEAKER_01]: game that everybody's involved with from a very early point.

[00:54:31] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.

[00:54:32] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.

[00:54:32] [SPEAKER_04]: That's a,

[00:54:33] [SPEAKER_04]: that's a great point.

[00:54:33] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.

[00:54:34] [SPEAKER_04]: And it's true.

[00:54:34] [SPEAKER_04]: Like we do have a sense of like almost all the,

[00:54:36] [SPEAKER_04]: all the players.

[00:54:37] [SPEAKER_01]: We got a little tease of,

[00:54:40] [SPEAKER_01]: there's going to be a big twist,

[00:54:41] [SPEAKER_01]: uh,

[00:54:41] [SPEAKER_01]: next week.

[00:54:41] [SPEAKER_01]: Do you think that we will go to two tribes?

[00:54:43] [SPEAKER_01]: That's been,

[00:54:44] [SPEAKER_01]: Oh,

[00:54:44] [SPEAKER_01]: that's interesting.

[00:54:44] [SPEAKER_01]: That'll be fun.

[00:54:45] [SPEAKER_01]: That'll be really fun.

[00:54:46] [SPEAKER_01]: I hope that does happen.

[00:54:47] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.

[00:54:47] [SPEAKER_01]: It'll be interesting to see how long we do that for.

[00:54:50] [SPEAKER_01]: I know in second chances,

[00:54:51] [SPEAKER_01]: uh,

[00:54:52] [SPEAKER_01]: they went from two to three back to two,

[00:54:55] [SPEAKER_01]: uh,

[00:54:55] [SPEAKER_01]: just for the one vote.

[00:54:57] [SPEAKER_01]: Do you think that we would be in two tribes potentially for short as one

[00:55:00] [SPEAKER_01]: vote?

[00:55:01] [SPEAKER_01]: But it's only one vote because of the Terry evacuation,

[00:55:03] [SPEAKER_01]: right?

[00:55:06] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah,

[00:55:07] [SPEAKER_01]: I believe so.

[00:55:08] [SPEAKER_04]: Um,

[00:55:09] [SPEAKER_01]: but typically they have in the last couple of seasons,

[00:55:11] [SPEAKER_01]: they've done mergatory with,

[00:55:14] [SPEAKER_01]: I think 13 people.

[00:55:15] [SPEAKER_01]: And so if that holds,

[00:55:17] [SPEAKER_01]: uh,

[00:55:18] [SPEAKER_01]: it would only be for one vote,

[00:55:19] [SPEAKER_01]: but you know,

[00:55:20] [SPEAKER_01]: I kind of feel like if they go to two tribes,

[00:55:21] [SPEAKER_01]: like two tribes of seven,

[00:55:22] [SPEAKER_01]: that's exciting.

[00:55:23] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.

[00:55:24] [SPEAKER_04]: A 12 person merger,

[00:55:25] [SPEAKER_04]: mergatory is even a little bit better,

[00:55:26] [SPEAKER_04]: right?

[00:55:26] [SPEAKER_04]: We don't have that one random person kind of like sitting out,

[00:55:28] [SPEAKER_04]: picking their feet.

[00:55:29] [SPEAKER_04]: I feel like they love that.

[00:55:31] [SPEAKER_04]: That's so silly.

[00:55:32] [SPEAKER_01]: Okay.

[00:55:32] [SPEAKER_01]: All right.

[00:55:33] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.

[00:55:34] [SPEAKER_01]: How about,

[00:55:34] [SPEAKER_01]: uh,

[00:55:35] [SPEAKER_01]: Tommy Guam says,

[00:55:36] [SPEAKER_01]: if Rome keeps treating his fellow castaways like he has,

[00:55:38] [SPEAKER_01]: will he eventually become a goat and brought to the end because of his

[00:55:41] [SPEAKER_01]: attitude to the other players?

[00:55:43] [SPEAKER_04]: I,

[00:55:44] [SPEAKER_04]: I mean,

[00:55:44] [SPEAKER_04]: it's a viable idea,

[00:55:46] [SPEAKER_04]: but he's such an aggressive player that I don't think you can ever think of him as a goat.

[00:55:50] [SPEAKER_04]: He's already done a lot of stuff,

[00:55:51] [SPEAKER_04]: you know,

[00:55:51] [SPEAKER_04]: if in resume era survivor,

[00:55:53] [SPEAKER_04]: he has pretty good resume.

[00:55:55] [SPEAKER_04]: So it's like,

[00:55:56] [SPEAKER_04]: I don't think he's a pure goat like that.

[00:55:57] [SPEAKER_04]: He's not just someone who's,

[00:55:59] [SPEAKER_04]: you know,

[00:55:59] [SPEAKER_04]: we talked a bit about Q being a goat,

[00:56:01] [SPEAKER_04]: um,

[00:56:02] [SPEAKER_04]: last time.

[00:56:02] [SPEAKER_04]: Are people going to try to take Q to the end?

[00:56:06] [SPEAKER_04]: Maria was trying to,

[00:56:08] [SPEAKER_04]: but you know,

[00:56:08] [SPEAKER_04]: Liz was saying she would have voted for Q.

[00:56:11] [SPEAKER_04]: So,

[00:56:12] [SPEAKER_04]: um,

[00:56:12] [SPEAKER_04]: I think that,

[00:56:13] [SPEAKER_04]: you know,

[00:56:14] [SPEAKER_04]: these,

[00:56:15] [SPEAKER_04]: I don't see him.

[00:56:17] [SPEAKER_04]: It's possible,

[00:56:18] [SPEAKER_04]: right?

[00:56:18] [SPEAKER_04]: It's possible that he could be,

[00:56:19] [SPEAKER_04]: but he's such a big player.

[00:56:21] [SPEAKER_04]: And,

[00:56:21] [SPEAKER_04]: and,

[00:56:21] [SPEAKER_04]: you know,

[00:56:21] [SPEAKER_04]: it's,

[00:56:22] [SPEAKER_04]: it's not like,

[00:56:22] [SPEAKER_04]: um,

[00:56:23] [SPEAKER_04]: you know,

[00:56:24] [SPEAKER_04]: some of the people who you think about goats in that role,

[00:56:27] [SPEAKER_04]: in that position,

[00:56:27] [SPEAKER_04]: you know,

[00:56:27] [SPEAKER_04]: who have been obstreperous or,

[00:56:29] [SPEAKER_04]: or,

[00:56:30] [SPEAKER_04]: you know,

[00:56:30] [SPEAKER_04]: angered a lot of people.

[00:56:31] [SPEAKER_04]: They don't usually have like also like really big strategic resumes in the way that Rome already does.

[00:56:37] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.

[00:56:38] [SPEAKER_01]: I mean,

[00:56:39] [SPEAKER_01]: I,

[00:56:40] [SPEAKER_01]: I,

[00:56:40] [SPEAKER_01]: I wish,

[00:56:41] [SPEAKER_01]: uh,

[00:56:41] [SPEAKER_01]: I could get on board with what you're saying.

[00:56:44] [SPEAKER_01]: And yes,

[00:56:44] [SPEAKER_01]: he's played two advantages,

[00:56:46] [SPEAKER_01]: but I really just don't know if,

[00:56:49] [SPEAKER_01]: uh,

[00:56:49] [SPEAKER_01]: that that's going to be the kind of thing that the jury is going to reward.

[00:56:55] [SPEAKER_04]: But also,

[00:56:55] [SPEAKER_04]: I mean,

[00:56:56] [SPEAKER_04]: yeah,

[00:56:56] [SPEAKER_04]: look,

[00:56:57] [SPEAKER_04]: I mean,

[00:56:57] [SPEAKER_04]: if he keeps on,

[00:56:57] [SPEAKER_04]: if he,

[00:56:58] [SPEAKER_04]: if he goes like person to person and alienates them to the extent that he has salt,

[00:57:01] [SPEAKER_04]: that's probably not going to work out so hard for him.

[00:57:03] [SPEAKER_04]: And it's obviously,

[00:57:04] [SPEAKER_04]: you know,

[00:57:04] [SPEAKER_04]: ultimately,

[00:57:05] [SPEAKER_04]: you know,

[00:57:05] [SPEAKER_04]: we've certainly said quite a few times that the goal is to just be there at the end as the person the jury likes most.

[00:57:12] [SPEAKER_04]: Right.

[00:57:12] [SPEAKER_04]: Like,

[00:57:13] [SPEAKER_04]: and not stress too much about the rest of it.

[00:57:15] [SPEAKER_04]: Um,

[00:57:16] [SPEAKER_04]: but,

[00:57:17] [SPEAKER_04]: but,

[00:57:17] [SPEAKER_04]: uh,

[00:57:17] [SPEAKER_04]: I just don't think he would necessarily be an obvious goat right now.

[00:57:20] [SPEAKER_04]: Like,

[00:57:20] [SPEAKER_04]: yes,

[00:57:21] [SPEAKER_04]: if he like angers everybody,

[00:57:22] [SPEAKER_04]: like if he,

[00:57:24] [SPEAKER_04]: if he keeps up the,

[00:57:25] [SPEAKER_04]: like pissing everybody off part of his game and not so much to like aggressively strategic,

[00:57:30] [SPEAKER_04]: aggressive strategic play part of his game,

[00:57:31] [SPEAKER_04]: like,

[00:57:31] [SPEAKER_04]: yeah,

[00:57:31] [SPEAKER_04]: he'd be a goat.

[00:57:33] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.

[00:57:33] [SPEAKER_01]: Okay.

[00:57:33] [SPEAKER_01]: Right.

[00:57:34] [SPEAKER_01]: Steven,

[00:57:34] [SPEAKER_01]: uh,

[00:57:34] [SPEAKER_01]: this is a question from mana who says,

[00:57:37] [SPEAKER_01]: uh,

[00:57:37] [SPEAKER_01]: do you think that this move may humble Rome a bit?

[00:57:40] [SPEAKER_01]: Uh,

[00:57:40] [SPEAKER_01]: he is too much.

[00:57:42] [SPEAKER_01]: Do you think that this near death experience in the game could potentially change Rome for the better?

[00:57:48] [SPEAKER_04]: I mean,

[00:57:49] [SPEAKER_04]: he did apologize to Saul,

[00:57:50] [SPEAKER_04]: which,

[00:57:50] [SPEAKER_04]: you know,

[00:57:50] [SPEAKER_04]: you got to give him credit for,

[00:57:51] [SPEAKER_04]: you know,

[00:57:52] [SPEAKER_04]: he apologized both.

[00:57:53] [SPEAKER_04]: He went up on the beach and then he apologized at tribal council again and said,

[00:57:56] [SPEAKER_04]: you know,

[00:57:56] [SPEAKER_04]: I really crossed the line and I shouldn't have done that.

[00:57:59] [SPEAKER_04]: Um,

[00:57:59] [SPEAKER_04]: and so maybe,

[00:58:00] [SPEAKER_04]: yeah,

[00:58:01] [SPEAKER_04]: like,

[00:58:01] [SPEAKER_04]: you know,

[00:58:01] [SPEAKER_04]: we,

[00:58:02] [SPEAKER_04]: we've,

[00:58:02] [SPEAKER_04]: we've talked about how players have freak outs and then come back from them.

[00:58:05] [SPEAKER_04]: Right.

[00:58:05] [SPEAKER_04]: We certainly talked about it with Andy after the first episode,

[00:58:08] [SPEAKER_04]: how players have,

[00:58:09] [SPEAKER_04]: you know,

[00:58:09] [SPEAKER_04]: these big emotional moments and they can kind of like reign that in and come back and,

[00:58:14] [SPEAKER_04]: and play very well.

[00:58:14] [SPEAKER_04]: And it seems like Andy's doing a great job of that.

[00:58:16] [SPEAKER_04]: Um,

[00:58:17] [SPEAKER_04]: and you know,

[00:58:17] [SPEAKER_04]: why not the same thing for,

[00:58:19] [SPEAKER_04]: you know,

[00:58:20] [SPEAKER_04]: more,

[00:58:21] [SPEAKER_04]: um,

[00:58:21] [SPEAKER_04]: you know,

[00:58:22] [SPEAKER_04]: this,

[00:58:22] [SPEAKER_04]: this type of,

[00:58:22] [SPEAKER_04]: of thing.

[00:58:24] [SPEAKER_01]: I don't think that Rome changes his stripes,

[00:58:27] [SPEAKER_01]: uh,

[00:58:27] [SPEAKER_01]: just because of one thing.

[00:58:28] [SPEAKER_01]: I,

[00:58:29] [SPEAKER_01]: I think that,

[00:58:30] [SPEAKER_01]: Rome is going to be Rome.

[00:58:31] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.

[00:58:32] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.

[00:58:32] [SPEAKER_04]: Maybe you're right.

[00:58:33] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.

[00:58:33] [SPEAKER_01]: Rome was not built in a day and it is not going to change in a day.

[00:58:37] Yeah.

[00:58:37] [SPEAKER_04]: But I,

[00:58:38] [SPEAKER_04]: I get like,

[00:58:38] [SPEAKER_04]: I just think that like,

[00:58:39] [SPEAKER_04]: you know,

[00:58:39] [SPEAKER_04]: I see it all.

[00:58:40] [SPEAKER_04]: I don't want you all to think I'm like a Rome apologist,

[00:58:42] [SPEAKER_04]: you know?

[00:58:43] [SPEAKER_04]: Um,

[00:58:43] [SPEAKER_04]: I'm absolutely like,

[00:58:44] [SPEAKER_04]: I thought the way he treated Saul was really bad.

[00:58:46] [SPEAKER_04]: And especially because of Saul's reaction,

[00:58:48] [SPEAKER_04]: right?

[00:58:48] [SPEAKER_04]: You love Saul more than anybody.

[00:58:50] [SPEAKER_04]: I know.

[00:58:51] [SPEAKER_04]: I know.

[00:58:51] [SPEAKER_04]: That's why you should,

[00:58:52] [SPEAKER_04]: you know,

[00:58:52] [SPEAKER_04]: that's why this is so hard for me to say.

[00:58:54] [SPEAKER_04]: No,

[00:58:54] [SPEAKER_04]: but,

[00:58:55] [SPEAKER_04]: uh,

[00:58:55] [SPEAKER_01]: that's why you have credibility on this.

[00:58:57] [SPEAKER_04]: That's right.

[00:58:57] [SPEAKER_04]: That's right.

[00:58:57] [SPEAKER_04]: That's why I have credibility.

[00:58:58] [SPEAKER_04]: Um,

[00:58:59] [SPEAKER_04]: so,

[00:58:59] [SPEAKER_04]: you know,

[00:59:00] [SPEAKER_04]: I did not think he was nice to Saul,

[00:59:03] [SPEAKER_04]: but I think there's like aspects of his gameplay that are really good.

[00:59:05] [SPEAKER_04]: And that,

[00:59:06] [SPEAKER_04]: you know,

[00:59:07] [SPEAKER_04]: according to all the metrics we've established as like for good gameplay,

[00:59:09] [SPEAKER_04]: like he,

[00:59:10] [SPEAKER_04]: he's digging the boxes.

[00:59:11] [SPEAKER_01]: Okay.

[00:59:12] [SPEAKER_01]: Cecilia wants to know,

[00:59:13] [SPEAKER_01]: did the Kashan vote benefit Saul more than anybody else on the red

[00:59:16] [SPEAKER_01]: tribe?

[00:59:17] [SPEAKER_01]: Well,

[00:59:17] [SPEAKER_04]: I mean,

[00:59:18] [SPEAKER_04]: definitely better than getting voted out,

[00:59:19] [SPEAKER_04]: which was the point at the start.

[00:59:22] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.

[00:59:22] [SPEAKER_04]: I guess,

[00:59:23] [SPEAKER_04]: um,

[00:59:23] [SPEAKER_04]: but yes,

[00:59:24] [SPEAKER_04]: because it puts on,

[00:59:25] [SPEAKER_04]: you know,

[00:59:25] [SPEAKER_04]: it builds the,

[00:59:27] [SPEAKER_04]: um,

[00:59:27] [SPEAKER_04]: Oh,

[00:59:27] [SPEAKER_04]: that's interesting.

[00:59:28] [SPEAKER_04]: Cause like then he is going to be,

[00:59:30] [SPEAKER_04]: he's got,

[00:59:30] [SPEAKER_04]: then teeny's got nowhere to go,

[00:59:31] [SPEAKER_04]: but Saul,

[00:59:32] [SPEAKER_04]: that's a really good point.

[00:59:33] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.

[00:59:33] [SPEAKER_04]: Teenies get nowhere to go,

[00:59:34] [SPEAKER_04]: but Saul really.

[00:59:35] [SPEAKER_04]: Um,

[00:59:35] [SPEAKER_04]: cause Genevieve just masterminded the ouster of her ally,

[00:59:39] [SPEAKER_04]: you know,

[00:59:39] [SPEAKER_04]: she's already kind of sour on Rome.

[00:59:41] [SPEAKER_04]: Um,

[00:59:41] [SPEAKER_04]: so like,

[00:59:42] [SPEAKER_04]: it's great for Saul and,

[00:59:42] [SPEAKER_04]: and teeny.

[00:59:43] [SPEAKER_04]: And then,

[00:59:44] [SPEAKER_04]: you know,

[00:59:44] [SPEAKER_04]: Saul's also got this like budding thing with Genevieve.

[00:59:48] [SPEAKER_04]: Like,

[00:59:48] [SPEAKER_04]: yeah,

[00:59:48] [SPEAKER_04]: Saul's in a great spot right now.

[00:59:49] [SPEAKER_04]: Yes.

[00:59:50] [SPEAKER_01]: I do wonder if the red tribe ends up getting through this.

[00:59:54] [SPEAKER_01]: Does teeny kind of have like an escape hatch with the amulet people of like,

[00:59:58] [SPEAKER_01]: to like,

[00:59:59] [SPEAKER_01]: Hey,

[00:59:59] [SPEAKER_01]: uh,

[00:59:59] [SPEAKER_01]: you know,

[01:00:00] [SPEAKER_01]: Caroline,

[01:00:00] [SPEAKER_01]: take me in,

[01:00:01] [SPEAKER_01]: Andy,

[01:00:02] [SPEAKER_01]: take me in to be able to get away from them.

[01:00:04] [SPEAKER_01]: Um,

[01:00:04] [SPEAKER_01]: and I wonder like,

[01:00:06] [SPEAKER_01]: could the red Lavo tribe end up getting picked off when we get to the merge?

[01:00:11] [SPEAKER_04]: Oh,

[01:00:11] [SPEAKER_04]: that's yeah.

[01:00:12] [SPEAKER_04]: That's an interesting,

[01:00:13] [SPEAKER_04]: that's a totally viable world where,

[01:00:15] [SPEAKER_04]: yeah.

[01:00:15] [SPEAKER_04]: I mean,

[01:00:16] [SPEAKER_04]: Teenies got this,

[01:00:16] [SPEAKER_04]: this,

[01:00:17] [SPEAKER_04]: this way of,

[01:00:18] [SPEAKER_04]: you know,

[01:00:19] [SPEAKER_04]: this,

[01:00:19] [SPEAKER_04]: this other path.

[01:00:20] [SPEAKER_04]: Um,

[01:00:21] [SPEAKER_04]: yeah.

[01:00:21] [SPEAKER_04]: Why do you think gotta send Andy?

[01:00:24] [SPEAKER_04]: If they've always talked about.

[01:00:24] [SPEAKER_01]: Good question.

[01:00:25] [SPEAKER_01]: I don't know why.

[01:00:27] [SPEAKER_01]: Maybe they just feel like,

[01:00:28] [SPEAKER_01]: okay,

[01:00:28] [SPEAKER_01]: what does it matter if he loses his vote,

[01:00:30] [SPEAKER_01]: but he could get an idol.

[01:00:31] [SPEAKER_01]: And so I don't know necessarily,

[01:00:33] [SPEAKER_01]: um,

[01:00:34] [SPEAKER_01]: why they would do that,

[01:00:35] [SPEAKER_01]: where it seemed like that Annika really wanted to go on the last one.

[01:00:39] [SPEAKER_01]: Sam seemed like,

[01:00:40] [SPEAKER_01]: Hey,

[01:00:40] [SPEAKER_01]: I should be the one to go.

[01:00:41] [SPEAKER_01]: I was really surprised.

[01:00:42] [SPEAKER_01]: Is he feeling like,

[01:00:43] [SPEAKER_01]: Hey,

[01:00:43] [SPEAKER_01]: I don't want to put a bigger target on my back.

[01:00:45] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.

[01:00:46] [SPEAKER_04]: I mean,

[01:00:46] [SPEAKER_04]: you think that,

[01:00:47] [SPEAKER_04]: um,

[01:00:48] [SPEAKER_04]: you know,

[01:00:48] [SPEAKER_04]: there,

[01:00:48] [SPEAKER_04]: they had a big thing about it.

[01:00:49] [SPEAKER_04]: They didn't want Andy to get an idol so that he could be,

[01:00:51] [SPEAKER_04]: uh,

[01:00:51] [SPEAKER_04]: you know,

[01:00:51] [SPEAKER_04]: voted out.

[01:00:52] [SPEAKER_04]: It is interesting that now they're,

[01:00:53] [SPEAKER_04]: they're saying it's okay to go.

[01:00:55] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.

[01:00:55] [SPEAKER_01]: So that's a good one for,

[01:00:57] [SPEAKER_01]: if we ever get to do,

[01:00:58] [SPEAKER_01]: uh,

[01:01:04] [SPEAKER_01]: uh,

[01:01:05] [SPEAKER_01]: maybe one more question for Steven.

[01:01:09] [SPEAKER_01]: Um,

[01:01:10] [SPEAKER_01]: okay.

[01:01:11] [SPEAKER_01]: How about the question of,

[01:01:15] [SPEAKER_01]: 26 days versus 39 days?

[01:01:16] [SPEAKER_01]: Does that affect the ethics and immediacy of killing the chicken right away versus keeping the chicken for the eggs?

[01:01:22] [SPEAKER_01]: Um,

[01:01:23] [SPEAKER_01]: yeah.

[01:01:23] [SPEAKER_01]: Right.

[01:01:24] [SPEAKER_04]: Like you got killed sooner.

[01:01:26] [SPEAKER_04]: Right.

[01:01:26] [SPEAKER_04]: I mean,

[01:01:26] [SPEAKER_04]: and we've often seen these chickens on survivor,

[01:01:28] [SPEAKER_04]: like not be particularly egg,

[01:01:29] [SPEAKER_04]: like,

[01:01:30] [SPEAKER_04]: like chickens have to like be well fed.

[01:01:32] [SPEAKER_04]: They have to be relaxed to like eggs.

[01:01:33] [SPEAKER_04]: Like that's like a,

[01:01:33] [SPEAKER_04]: not,

[01:01:34] [SPEAKER_04]: you don't exactly see these contestants tending to these chickens particularly well.

[01:01:39] [SPEAKER_04]: I don't think they ever laid an egg.

[01:01:41] [SPEAKER_04]: Um,

[01:01:41] [SPEAKER_04]: you know,

[01:01:42] [SPEAKER_04]: so I mean,

[01:01:43] [SPEAKER_04]: I would,

[01:01:44] [SPEAKER_04]: yeah,

[01:01:44] [SPEAKER_01]: that's a really good point.

[01:01:45] [SPEAKER_01]: Okay.

[01:01:46] [SPEAKER_01]: All right.

[01:01:51] [SPEAKER_01]: Six.

[01:01:52] [SPEAKER_04]: No,

[01:01:52] [SPEAKER_04]: I,

[01:01:52] [SPEAKER_04]: I want to,

[01:01:53] [SPEAKER_04]: uh,

[01:01:54] [SPEAKER_04]: just check the comments.

[01:01:56] [SPEAKER_04]: Um,

[01:01:57] [SPEAKER_04]: um,

[01:01:57] [SPEAKER_04]: and everyone is very against my,

[01:02:00] [SPEAKER_04]: uh,

[01:02:00] [SPEAKER_04]: my support of Rome again.

[01:02:01] [SPEAKER_04]: Like,

[01:02:01] [SPEAKER_04]: I don't want to say that he's like playing some,

[01:02:04] [SPEAKER_04]: you know,

[01:02:04] [SPEAKER_04]: that he's like,

[01:02:05] [SPEAKER_04]: his social game is great or these.

[01:02:06] [SPEAKER_04]: And I make,

[01:02:07] [SPEAKER_04]: I just think that like,

[01:02:08] [SPEAKER_04]: yeah,

[01:02:08] [SPEAKER_04]: there are aspects of his game that we should acknowledge the hot take,

[01:02:11] [SPEAKER_01]: Steven.

[01:02:11] [SPEAKER_01]: I really do.

[01:02:12] [SPEAKER_01]: I disagree with you,

[01:02:13] [SPEAKER_01]: but I,

[01:02:14] [SPEAKER_01]: I really respect you,

[01:02:15] [SPEAKER_01]: uh,

[01:02:15] [SPEAKER_01]: saying something that might be going against what the conventional opinion is going to be.

[01:02:20] [SPEAKER_01]: And so I think that that's what makes you a good podcaster.

[01:02:22] [SPEAKER_01]: And so,

[01:02:23] [SPEAKER_01]: um,

[01:02:24] [SPEAKER_01]: I didn't like that.

[01:02:25] [SPEAKER_01]: You gave out two fishies,

[01:02:26] [SPEAKER_01]: but I definitely,

[01:02:27] [SPEAKER_01]: I like the contrarian thought on.

[01:02:30] [SPEAKER_04]: You don't think Genevieve deserves a fishy Rob.

[01:02:32] [SPEAKER_04]: That's,

[01:02:33] [SPEAKER_01]: I like the contrarian thought that of,

[01:02:35] [SPEAKER_01]: uh,

[01:02:35] [SPEAKER_01]: Rome is actually doing a good job with his advantages.

[01:02:38] [SPEAKER_04]: But again,

[01:02:38] [SPEAKER_04]: it's like the stuff like following Saul around where like,

[01:02:42] [SPEAKER_04]: when people don't do that,

[01:02:43] [SPEAKER_04]: we're like,

[01:02:43] [SPEAKER_04]: you idiot,

[01:02:44] [SPEAKER_04]: why aren't you following him around?

[01:02:45] [SPEAKER_04]: And he's doing it and he's pissing Saul off,

[01:02:47] [SPEAKER_04]: but he's also doing it.

[01:02:47] [SPEAKER_04]: So it's like,

[01:02:48] [SPEAKER_04]: he's an interesting,

[01:02:50] [SPEAKER_04]: many facets of this Rome as,

[01:02:51] [SPEAKER_04]: as do we all,

[01:02:52] [SPEAKER_04]: um,

[01:02:53] [SPEAKER_04]: you know,

[01:02:53] [SPEAKER_04]: he is,

[01:02:54] [SPEAKER_04]: uh,

[01:02:54] [SPEAKER_04]: both somewhat annoying and also I think is playing well in some ways and,

[01:02:58] [SPEAKER_04]: and ways that are like unique and really good.

[01:03:01] [SPEAKER_04]: Yes.

[01:03:01] [SPEAKER_01]: But are they winning ways?

[01:03:03] [SPEAKER_01]: Is I think the bigger question,

[01:03:05] [SPEAKER_04]: right?

[01:03:05] [SPEAKER_01]: Are they setting him up to win?

[01:03:07] [SPEAKER_01]: That's Russell.

[01:03:08] [SPEAKER_01]: Russell Hance was also doing things that were very effective and helping him.

[01:03:12] [SPEAKER_01]: Russell Hance has got all the fishies every week.

[01:03:15] [SPEAKER_01]: Go back and check the record.

[01:03:17] [SPEAKER_01]: He does.

[01:03:17] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.

[01:03:18] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.

[01:03:18] [SPEAKER_01]: But,

[01:03:18] [SPEAKER_01]: but those weren't winning games.

[01:03:21] [SPEAKER_04]: No,

[01:03:21] [SPEAKER_04]: that's true.

[01:03:22] [SPEAKER_04]: But you know,

[01:03:23] [SPEAKER_04]: we,

[01:03:23] [SPEAKER_04]: we,

[01:03:23] [SPEAKER_04]: you know,

[01:03:24] [SPEAKER_04]: together we agreed that Andy deserved a fishy for his,

[01:03:26] [SPEAKER_04]: his work last week.

[01:03:27] [SPEAKER_04]: And I don't know if that's,

[01:03:28] [SPEAKER_04]: Andy's playing a winning game right now.

[01:03:30] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.

[01:03:31] [SPEAKER_04]: So,

[01:03:31] [SPEAKER_04]: but it's a possible winning game.

[01:03:34] [SPEAKER_04]: I mean,

[01:03:35] [SPEAKER_04]: Rome is a possible,

[01:03:36] [SPEAKER_04]: possible.

[01:03:36] [SPEAKER_04]: I mean,

[01:03:36] [SPEAKER_04]: Rome is definitely has a possible winning game.

[01:03:38] [SPEAKER_04]: I don't think Rome is off the table as a possible winner.

[01:03:40] [SPEAKER_04]: I don't think he's a likely winner,

[01:03:42] [SPEAKER_04]: but a possible winner.

[01:03:43] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.

[01:03:43] [SPEAKER_01]: I guess it's,

[01:03:44] [SPEAKER_01]: it's only day eight.

[01:03:45] [SPEAKER_01]: Okay.

[01:03:46] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.

[01:03:46] [SPEAKER_01]: All right.

[01:03:47] [SPEAKER_01]: Steven,

[01:03:48] [SPEAKER_01]: this weekend we had such a successful launch of the first ever RHAP production of blood on the clock tower.

[01:03:57] [SPEAKER_01]: And this was your brainchild to say like,

[01:04:01] [SPEAKER_01]: Hey,

[01:04:01] [SPEAKER_01]: we need to bring a survivor blood on the clock tower video to RHAP.

[01:04:09] [SPEAKER_01]: And with Christian Hubicki was very involved in the planning.

[01:04:13] [SPEAKER_01]: We brought this game to the world and it's been received with so much acclaim.

[01:04:21] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.

[01:04:21] [SPEAKER_04]: I mean,

[01:04:22] [SPEAKER_04]: the comments in across everywhere I've seen them,

[01:04:25] [SPEAKER_04]: you know,

[01:04:25] [SPEAKER_04]: Twitter,

[01:04:26] [SPEAKER_04]: Reddit,

[01:04:26] [SPEAKER_04]: YouTube have been so enthusiastic that it's the best received thing we've ever done.

[01:04:32] [SPEAKER_04]: Actually might be,

[01:04:34] [SPEAKER_04]: maybe it balances my supportive,

[01:04:36] [SPEAKER_04]: not my support,

[01:04:37] [SPEAKER_04]: but my,

[01:04:37] [SPEAKER_04]: my apology for Rome.

[01:04:39] [SPEAKER_04]: So,

[01:04:39] [SPEAKER_04]: yeah,

[01:04:40] [SPEAKER_04]: I mean,

[01:04:40] [SPEAKER_04]: it's really been,

[01:04:42] [SPEAKER_04]: first of all,

[01:04:42] [SPEAKER_04]: it was such a fun game to play.

[01:04:44] [SPEAKER_04]: It was,

[01:04:45] [SPEAKER_04]: it came out great.

[01:04:46] [SPEAKER_04]: It looks really good.

[01:04:47] [SPEAKER_04]: I'm really happy with it.

[01:04:48] [SPEAKER_04]: We put a lot of care into,

[01:04:49] [SPEAKER_04]: into it and to how the pacing and the way,

[01:04:51] [SPEAKER_04]: it looks.

[01:04:52] [SPEAKER_04]: I,

[01:04:52] [SPEAKER_04]: and it was like,

[01:04:53] [SPEAKER_04]: it was great.

[01:04:54] [SPEAKER_04]: It came out great.

[01:04:54] [SPEAKER_04]: People have enjoyed it.

[01:04:56] [SPEAKER_04]: You know,

[01:04:56] [SPEAKER_04]: I just wanted to play more clock tower and I all,

[01:04:59] [SPEAKER_04]: you know,

[01:04:59] [SPEAKER_04]: and I thought it would be like a fun thing to share with our community too.

[01:05:02] [SPEAKER_04]: Cause like,

[01:05:02] [SPEAKER_04]: it's like all the things that our community loves.

[01:05:05] [SPEAKER_04]: It's like games of social strategy,

[01:05:07] [SPEAKER_04]: you know,

[01:05:08] [SPEAKER_04]: with like secret powers and advantages.

[01:05:11] [SPEAKER_04]: It's people voting each other out,

[01:05:13] [SPEAKER_04]: you know,

[01:05:13] [SPEAKER_04]: people lying to each other,

[01:05:15] [SPEAKER_04]: you know,

[01:05:15] [SPEAKER_04]: old grudges coming to fruition and,

[01:05:18] [SPEAKER_04]: and heated exchanges.

[01:05:19] [SPEAKER_04]: I mean,

[01:05:19] [SPEAKER_04]: truly it had,

[01:05:20] [SPEAKER_04]: it had it all.

[01:05:21] [SPEAKER_04]: So,

[01:05:21] [SPEAKER_04]: um,

[01:05:21] [SPEAKER_01]: and I know the people who know blood on the clock tower,

[01:05:24] [SPEAKER_01]: I feel like we're very quick to early adopters to come in and check this out.

[01:05:27] [SPEAKER_01]: I just want to make a,

[01:05:28] [SPEAKER_01]: an appeal to the people.

[01:05:30] [SPEAKER_01]: If you do not know what blood on the clock tower is,

[01:05:33] [SPEAKER_01]: we do a really good job of holding your hand and explaining the rules of the game as we go along.

[01:05:40] [SPEAKER_01]: So go ahead.

[01:05:40] [SPEAKER_01]: If you're looking for something to hold you over between this and the next episode of survivor,

[01:05:45] [SPEAKER_01]: look up the survivor blood on the clock tower game from RHAP on our YouTube channel.

[01:05:50] [SPEAKER_01]: I don't think you will be sorry.

[01:05:52] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.

[01:05:53] [SPEAKER_04]: Um,

[01:05:53] [SPEAKER_04]: one last thing.

[01:05:54] [SPEAKER_04]: Someone else in the comments is saying,

[01:05:56] [SPEAKER_04]: you know,

[01:05:56] [SPEAKER_04]: Rome could have followed Saul around without dehumanizing him.

[01:05:59] [SPEAKER_04]: Yes,

[01:05:59] [SPEAKER_04]: I agree with that.

[01:06:00] [SPEAKER_04]: I agree with that.

[01:06:00] [SPEAKER_04]: But he also like,

[01:06:01] [SPEAKER_04]: you know,

[01:06:01] [SPEAKER_04]: there's,

[01:06:01] [SPEAKER_04]: there's,

[01:06:01] [SPEAKER_04]: there's good and bad.

[01:06:03] [SPEAKER_04]: We all,

[01:06:04] [SPEAKER_04]: we're all criticizing the bad,

[01:06:05] [SPEAKER_04]: but like,

[01:06:05] [SPEAKER_04]: we should also,

[01:06:06] [SPEAKER_04]: you know,

[01:06:07] [SPEAKER_04]: acknowledge the good.

[01:06:07] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.

[01:06:08] [SPEAKER_01]: All right.

[01:06:08] [SPEAKER_01]: Uh,

[01:06:09] [SPEAKER_01]: Steven,

[01:06:09] [SPEAKER_01]: uh,

[01:06:10] [SPEAKER_01]: anything else that you want to tell people about?

[01:06:12] [SPEAKER_01]: Um,

[01:06:13] [SPEAKER_01]: don't hate me for this.

[01:06:15] [SPEAKER_03]: No,

[01:06:15] [SPEAKER_03]: I think people can look,

[01:06:17] [SPEAKER_03]: you know what?

[01:06:18] [SPEAKER_01]: If you went on Twitter and,

[01:06:20] [SPEAKER_01]: and,

[01:06:20] [SPEAKER_01]: and drop these takes,

[01:06:22] [SPEAKER_01]: I don't,

[01:06:22] [SPEAKER_01]: I,

[01:06:23] [SPEAKER_01]: I would not advise that,

[01:06:24] [SPEAKER_01]: but here I'd like to think in the podcast space that there is still room for nuance in being able to,

[01:06:31] [SPEAKER_01]: uh,

[01:06:31] [SPEAKER_01]: say something.

[01:06:32] [SPEAKER_01]: That might not be the,

[01:06:34] [SPEAKER_01]: you know,

[01:06:35] [SPEAKER_01]: conventional thinking.

[01:06:36] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.

[01:06:37] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.

[01:06:37] [SPEAKER_04]: All right.

[01:06:37] [SPEAKER_04]: Well,

[01:06:38] [SPEAKER_04]: this has been a joy,

[01:06:38] [SPEAKER_04]: um,

[01:06:39] [SPEAKER_04]: as always.

[01:06:39] [SPEAKER_01]: And you're not just a hot take artist coming in and just like,

[01:06:42] [SPEAKER_01]: uh,

[01:06:43] [SPEAKER_01]: for the sake of being controversial.

[01:06:45] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.

[01:06:45] [SPEAKER_04]: Um,

[01:06:46] [SPEAKER_04]: no,

[01:06:46] [SPEAKER_04]: no,

[01:06:46] [SPEAKER_04]: no.

[01:06:46] [SPEAKER_04]: I'm,

[01:06:46] [SPEAKER_04]: I just,

[01:06:47] [SPEAKER_04]: I don't want anybody to think that I'm like excusing.

[01:06:49] [SPEAKER_04]: Cause I love Saul and it was hard for me to watch Saul be harassed,

[01:06:52] [SPEAKER_04]: but I don't want anyone to think I'm excusing the bad behavior.

[01:06:54] [SPEAKER_01]: No.

[01:06:54] [SPEAKER_01]: And I,

[01:06:55] [SPEAKER_01]: and I have your back on your right to,

[01:06:57] [SPEAKER_01]: uh,

[01:06:58] [SPEAKER_01]: say,

[01:06:58] [SPEAKER_01]: uh,

[01:06:59] [SPEAKER_01]: you know,

[01:06:59] [SPEAKER_01]: to,

[01:07:00] [SPEAKER_01]: to call out the interesting,

[01:07:01] [SPEAKER_01]: and potentially a good aspects of what you see happening on the show.

[01:07:06] [SPEAKER_04]: Thanks so much,

[01:07:07] [SPEAKER_04]: Rob.

[01:07:07] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.

[01:07:08] [SPEAKER_01]: I just like,

[01:07:09] [SPEAKER_01]: like,

[01:07:09] [SPEAKER_01]: I,

[01:07:09] [SPEAKER_01]: I don't think that,

[01:07:11] [SPEAKER_01]: uh,

[01:07:11] [SPEAKER_01]: like I listen,

[01:07:12] [SPEAKER_01]: I,

[01:07:13] [SPEAKER_01]: I think everybody is clear on how we,

[01:07:15] [SPEAKER_01]: we both feel about this.

[01:07:16] [SPEAKER_01]: I just want to say,

[01:07:16] [SPEAKER_01]: I,

[01:07:17] [SPEAKER_01]: I support,

[01:07:17] [SPEAKER_01]: I stand by Stephen Fishback,

[01:07:20] [SPEAKER_01]: 100%.

[01:07:22] [SPEAKER_01]: I'll go down.

[01:07:23] [SPEAKER_01]: I'll go down with you.

[01:07:24] [SPEAKER_01]: I'll go down with you.

[01:07:26] [SPEAKER_01]: Okay.

[01:07:26] [SPEAKER_01]: You're not going down alone.

[01:07:27] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.

[01:07:28] [SPEAKER_04]: All right.

[01:07:28] [SPEAKER_04]: Good.

[01:07:28] [SPEAKER_04]: Okay.

[01:07:28] [SPEAKER_04]: Good,

[01:07:29] [SPEAKER_04]: Rob.

[01:07:29] [SPEAKER_04]: All right.

[01:07:30] [SPEAKER_04]: no one else in exile.

[01:07:31] [SPEAKER_04]: Okay.

[01:07:31] [SPEAKER_01]: Exile Island.

[01:07:32] [SPEAKER_01]: Right.

[01:07:33] [SPEAKER_01]: All right.

[01:07:33] [SPEAKER_01]: Uh,

[01:07:34] [SPEAKER_01]: so then of course,

[01:07:35] [SPEAKER_01]: uh,
