[00:02:26] [SPEAKER_02]: So we had an hourglass and the hourglass broke and then now we're in different bodies.

[00:02:31] [SPEAKER_07]: So Steven then Marianne is in your body.

[00:02:35] [SPEAKER_02]: Yes, raising my indeterminate amount of children and writing short stories as we speak.

[00:02:41] [SPEAKER_07]: Steven.

[00:02:42] [SPEAKER_07]: It's to you have two children.

[00:02:44] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.

[00:02:45] [SPEAKER_02]: I don't know.

[00:02:46] [SPEAKER_02]: I guess it's back to Miriam.

[00:03:24] [SPEAKER_02]: Oh my I think good, you know since last time I saw you which was at my

[00:03:30] [SPEAKER_02]: wedding.

[00:03:30] [SPEAKER_02]: So thank you for coming.

[00:03:32] [SPEAKER_07]: What an amazing day.

[00:03:34] [SPEAKER_07]: Of course a total eclipse of the sun and at the heart.

[00:03:39] [SPEAKER_02]: It was great surrounded by families and friends.

[00:03:41] [SPEAKER_02]: I did a career change.

[00:03:44] [SPEAKER_02]: I'm now a student again.

[00:03:45] [SPEAKER_02]: I'm in medical school.

[00:03:46] [SPEAKER_02]: That's my new Chiron.

[00:03:50] [SPEAKER_02]: I actually have my first test tomorrow.

[00:03:56] [SPEAKER_02]: You we moved so I now I'm not 10 minutes away from Omar.

[00:04:00] [SPEAKER_02]: Unfortunately, I am now two and a half hours away with traffic being

[00:04:05] [SPEAKER_02]: bad two hours of traffic is good.

[00:04:07] [SPEAKER_02]: So but I try to see Omar as often as I can and I think that's up.

[00:04:12] [SPEAKER_02]: That's what's up with me, you know playing video games in school studying

[00:04:17] [SPEAKER_02]: married life.

[00:04:17] [SPEAKER_07]: Yeah, sort of thing newlywed.

[00:04:19] [SPEAKER_07]: Sure.

[00:04:20] [SPEAKER_07]: What video game are you playing?

[00:04:21] [SPEAKER_02]: Right now playing?

[00:04:23] [SPEAKER_02]: Well, I'm playing Ace Attorney Investigations.

[00:04:26] [SPEAKER_02]: I love a big Ace Attorney thing.

[00:04:28] [SPEAKER_02]: But if you are into video games and I'll say Attorney Investigations,

[00:04:32] [SPEAKER_02]: I play as a prosecutor and I go and solve murders.

[00:04:36] [SPEAKER_07]: What I mean, that doesn't sound very fun.

[00:04:39] [SPEAKER_02]: It's so fun.

[00:04:40] [SPEAKER_02]: It's so can I look this up real quick?

[00:04:42] [SPEAKER_07]: Ace Attorney.

[00:04:44] [SPEAKER_02]: We didn't think it was ever going to be localized the people who know

[00:04:47] [SPEAKER_02]: You play as Miles Edgeworth who is the number one loved beloved fan.

[00:04:51] [SPEAKER_02]: There's like 10 games in this series.

[00:04:53] [SPEAKER_02]: This is like a spinoff and so you go and like you investigate things

[00:04:56] [SPEAKER_02]: that you have to like cross examine witnesses and find objections

[00:05:01] [SPEAKER_02]: and it's a good it makes me feel good on the brain and no one thought

[00:05:04] [SPEAKER_02]: this was going to be localized.

[00:05:06] [SPEAKER_02]: We all thought the second game was always going to be just in Japan

[00:05:08] [SPEAKER_02]: and they announced it and everybody freaked out.

[00:05:11] [SPEAKER_02]: So we're really enjoying it.

[00:05:12] [SPEAKER_02]: And hopefully Ace Attorney 7 is going to be announced this Monday,

[00:05:15] [SPEAKER_02]: but you know, we're the fandom is small and a little.

[00:05:19] [SPEAKER_07]: Well, let's see if your Ace Attorney Investigations helps you with

[00:05:23] [SPEAKER_07]: solving some of these Survivor mysteries that we have going on.

[00:05:27] [SPEAKER_02]: Absolutely like the mystery of how no one knows how to talk behind

[00:05:31] [SPEAKER_02]: people's back properly.

[00:05:34] [SPEAKER_07]: Okay.

[00:05:34] [SPEAKER_07]: So Mary Ann first off how Survivor 47 treating you wonderfully

[00:05:39] [SPEAKER_02]: Survivor 47 is treating me wonderfully.

[00:05:42] [SPEAKER_02]: The players are so willing to play.

[00:05:44] [SPEAKER_02]: I feel as if they have a vigor because they know that season 50 is

[00:05:49] [SPEAKER_02]: going to be returning players and I feel as if that vibe is really

[00:05:52] [SPEAKER_02]: going and like emanating in the way that people are so interesting

[00:05:56] [SPEAKER_07]: because I feel like I haven't heard that talked about in practice.

[00:05:59] [SPEAKER_07]: I feel like that that was something that we speculated about coming

[00:06:02] [SPEAKER_07]: into this season of like, okay, this is going to be the first season

[00:06:06] [SPEAKER_07]: that people are going to know people are coming back are people going

[00:06:09] [SPEAKER_07]: to be so who are you seeing that are that are thinking maybe living

[00:06:15] [SPEAKER_07]: in Survivor 47 and maybe in Survivor 50.

[00:06:18] [SPEAKER_02]: I feel as if we saw it so clearly on I'm so bad with names on the

[00:06:23] [SPEAKER_02]: blue tribe willing to go to rocks on the first Gabe willing to go

[00:06:28] [SPEAKER_02]: to rocks will break back down a little bit more especially with

[00:06:30] [SPEAKER_02]: the idle play but on the first tribal I feel that that like really

[00:06:35] [SPEAKER_02]: aggressive gameplay is so shown with someone who wants to really

[00:06:39] [SPEAKER_02]: bring it all, you know show the how they can play but of course I

[00:06:43] [SPEAKER_07]: might just be overseeing things maybe but no, I think that that's

[00:06:47] [SPEAKER_07]: a pretty good point.

[00:06:48] [SPEAKER_07]: I hadn't really put that all together Gabe the first confessional

[00:06:51] [SPEAKER_07]: we hear from him on the season is like I want to be on the Mount

[00:06:54] [SPEAKER_07]: Rushmore of the new era.

[00:06:58] [SPEAKER_02]: Absolutely.

[00:06:58] [SPEAKER_02]: Why do you want to be on Rush Rushmore to come again?

[00:07:01] [SPEAKER_02]: But or maybe he just loves the game.

[00:07:03] [SPEAKER_02]: I'm not going to speculate too too much.

[00:07:05] [SPEAKER_07]: Yeah, and so he had this big plan and I don't know if you listen

[00:07:08] [SPEAKER_07]: to any of the exit press with TK from today.

[00:07:12] [SPEAKER_07]: Did you happen to hear anybody's interview with TK?

[00:07:14] [SPEAKER_02]: No, I have been in class until this very moment, unfortunately,

[00:07:18] [SPEAKER_02]: so please give me a quick update.

[00:07:20] [SPEAKER_07]: TK was in very good spirits.

[00:07:22] [SPEAKER_07]: I of course have my interview up.

[00:07:25] [SPEAKER_07]: I also listened to Mike Bloom's interview with TK, but he said

[00:07:28] [SPEAKER_07]: a lot of the same stuff in both of them and he talked about how

[00:07:33] [SPEAKER_07]: in the challenge that he found Gabe to be especially stubborn

[00:07:40] [SPEAKER_07]: and was not really working as a team player in as I'm paraphrasing

[00:07:47] [SPEAKER_07]: a little bit of what TK said.

[00:07:48] [SPEAKER_07]: I asked TK.

[00:07:50] [SPEAKER_07]: Do you feel like in hindsight was Gabe trying to throw the challenge

[00:07:54] [SPEAKER_07]: and he did not have an answer for that.

[00:07:57] [SPEAKER_07]: He said, you know what the thought had crossed my mind after the

[00:08:00] [SPEAKER_07]: fact.

[00:08:01] [SPEAKER_02]: Interesting.

[00:08:03] [SPEAKER_02]: I don't think I don't know.

[00:08:07] [SPEAKER_02]: Maybe he was throwing the challenge, but like I feel as if with

[00:08:10] [SPEAKER_02]: Gabe's position, what was the benefit of throwing a challenge?

[00:08:13] [SPEAKER_07]: You know, like I don't know, you know that how much did Gabe

[00:08:19] [SPEAKER_07]: have this moment of this tribal council where he ultimately

[00:08:24] [SPEAKER_07]: plays an idol here and goes to potentially going to rocks.

[00:08:30] [SPEAKER_07]: How much did Gabe have this all planned out ahead of time?

[00:08:35] [SPEAKER_02]: Oh, I think that we I think actually that Tiana going and rolling

[00:08:42] [SPEAKER_02]: her eyes saved her because remember how like Gabe was really in

[00:08:48] [SPEAKER_02]: with Caroline and Sue and he's like, I don't know.

[00:08:51] [SPEAKER_02]: He's and he knew that he didn't want to be with like the strong

[00:08:54] [SPEAKER_02]: people of lights.

[00:08:54] [SPEAKER_02]: We knew that but he didn't know how he was going to make it work.

[00:08:57] [SPEAKER_02]: He didn't know who was fourth was going to be if he had to play

[00:08:59] [SPEAKER_02]: his idol or not.

[00:09:00] [SPEAKER_02]: But remember when Tiana seemed annoyed by TK, Gabe was like, oh,

[00:09:03] [SPEAKER_02]: I didn't realize this is how she really felt and maybe now I can

[00:09:06] [SPEAKER_02]: bring her in and then we can go and take out TK.

[00:09:10] [SPEAKER_02]: So I really feel as if the plan to go and take out TK really who's

[00:09:14] [SPEAKER_02]: that fourth member and who were taking out on that strong lines

[00:09:16] [SPEAKER_02]: was really built from that time when the challenge was lost to

[00:09:20] [SPEAKER_02]: the time that tribal was there.

[00:09:22] [SPEAKER_07]: Tell me a little bit about the decision to take out TK.

[00:09:25] [SPEAKER_07]: Now TK was not quite with all due respect to TK.

[00:09:28] [SPEAKER_07]: He wasn't quite Jonathan in terms of being a somebody who is

[00:09:35] [SPEAKER_07]: helping you win these challenges but still a very bold decision

[00:09:40] [SPEAKER_07]: for this tribe to take out TK at the first tribal council.

[00:09:45] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, I think bold decision, but I think it comes from two groups

[00:09:48] [SPEAKER_02]: right where it's like do I want to have a core people?

[00:09:51] [SPEAKER_02]: So if we go home three, four, two, three, four times, I know I'll

[00:09:55] [SPEAKER_02]: be there or do I just not want to go home and then keep strong

[00:09:59] [SPEAKER_02]: people here.

[00:09:59] [SPEAKER_02]: I think for Gabe, I really feel as if he valued the strategy and

[00:10:03] [SPEAKER_02]: knowing that he wants to work with people and knowing that he

[00:10:06] [SPEAKER_02]: wants to be on top of the alliance that he's there because right

[00:10:09] [SPEAKER_02]: now he's in with Carolyn and Sue so probably the next two tribals

[00:10:12] [SPEAKER_02]: Gabe is okay. In the previous alliance that was in, in the previous

[00:10:16] [SPEAKER_02]: alliance that he was in, it was very clear to him.

[00:10:19] [SPEAKER_02]: It seemed that he knew that he was number four in the alliance

[00:10:21] [SPEAKER_02]: and he wasn't the, that he wasn't going to be the people that

[00:10:23] [SPEAKER_02]: they were really going to save.

[00:10:24] [SPEAKER_02]: This meant that if they go to tribal three times, Gabe would be

[00:10:27] [SPEAKER_02]: the one that's going home.

[00:10:29] [SPEAKER_02]: So I think that in Gabe's sense, he was really thinking, you know

[00:10:32] [SPEAKER_02]: what? I'm going to go make sure that I'm here to stay at the end

[00:10:36] [SPEAKER_02]: of the day. If we go to tribal three times, I'm still going to

[00:10:38] [SPEAKER_02]: be here because I'm going to be integrated.

[00:10:40] [SPEAKER_02]: I think that decision for Gabe, it's one of those decisions where

[00:10:44] [SPEAKER_02]: you don't really know if it's the right or wrong decision because

[00:10:46] [SPEAKER_02]: it's so early in the game.

[00:10:47] [SPEAKER_02]: So you have to make it the right or wrong decision. For Sue, obvious

[00:10:50] [SPEAKER_02]: no-brainer. For Carolyn, obvious no-brainer because it makes them

[00:10:53] [SPEAKER_02]: on top. The big question was, was that the best move for Tiana?

[00:10:57] [SPEAKER_02]: And that's what I really want to delve into for a little bit.

[00:11:02] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, because for Tiana, it's, I think that Tiana going and flipping,

[00:11:08] [SPEAKER_02]: I think really showed how masterful Gabe was because I don't think

[00:11:13] [SPEAKER_02]: Tiana would have been comfortable flipping if she knew that

[00:11:16] [SPEAKER_02]: Carolyn, Gabe, and who am I missing?

[00:11:18] [SPEAKER_02]: Carolyn, Gabe, and Sue were a strong three.

[00:11:20] [SPEAKER_02]: It was very clear to me that Gabe was making sure that they didn't

[00:11:23] [SPEAKER_02]: look like a strong three for Tiana to flip and instead made TK be

[00:11:28] [SPEAKER_02]: voted out.

[00:11:29] [SPEAKER_02]: I think that for Tiana, this now puts her in a less strong position

[00:11:34] [SPEAKER_02]: than she was before. But I think that one thing that's important

[00:11:39] [SPEAKER_02]: is she's now working with people who are interested in working

[00:11:43] [SPEAKER_02]: with her and who she vibes with. And I really think that vibe and

[00:11:47] [SPEAKER_02]: morale brings you a long, long way, especially when you look farther

[00:11:50] [SPEAKER_02]: in the future, such as a merge.

[00:11:52] [SPEAKER_02]: I also think that in the long run, if Tiana is able to stay, she's

[00:11:58] [SPEAKER_02]: in a weaker position, but this is actually stronger for her.

[00:12:01] [SPEAKER_02]: And the reason why I think that is because let's say that she's

[00:12:04] [SPEAKER_02]: in the merge with TK and TK wins immunity.

[00:12:07] [SPEAKER_02]: There's a higher chance that they'd vote her out to weaken TK.

[00:12:11] [SPEAKER_02]: But in this group with Carolyn, Gabe, Sue, she can integrate a

[00:12:14] [SPEAKER_02]: little bit more at merge or at a swap.

[00:12:17] [SPEAKER_02]: So I think that even though she might be in a shakier ground,

[00:12:20] [SPEAKER_02]: in the long run, this isn't a bad move.

[00:12:24] [SPEAKER_07]: Okay, I will respectfully disagree.

[00:12:27] [SPEAKER_07]: I think that she is very much in danger.

[00:12:31] [SPEAKER_07]: I know you said she's on shaky ground.

[00:12:32] [SPEAKER_07]: I think she's very much in danger to potentially go out.

[00:12:35] [SPEAKER_07]: And I think that she feels like, you know, she just made a big

[00:12:39] [SPEAKER_07]: move to jump into a women's alliance, which we know from our

[00:12:44] [SPEAKER_07]: vantage point doesn't actually exist.

[00:12:47] [SPEAKER_07]: They sort of like sold her this bill of goods.

[00:12:49] [SPEAKER_07]: Kudos to Sue who really tried to play up this fake women's

[00:12:57] [SPEAKER_07]: alliance. I don't think that we've necessarily seen this in the

[00:13:01] [SPEAKER_07]: New Era where we'll get this woman who's actually the fourth

[00:13:06] [SPEAKER_07]: in our pecking order.

[00:13:07] [SPEAKER_07]: We'll tell her that, hey, come make this epic boss girl move with

[00:13:12] [SPEAKER_07]: us. And she's like, okay, yeah, let's do it.

[00:13:14] [SPEAKER_07]: The women are coming together.

[00:13:16] [SPEAKER_07]: Okay, he's just TK.

[00:13:17] [SPEAKER_07]: We're doing it and got her to bite on this.

[00:13:22] [SPEAKER_07]: But ultimately, Tiana doesn't know that she's probably the person

[00:13:28] [SPEAKER_07]: who's going to go to the Ponderosa if they go to another tribal

[00:13:31] [SPEAKER_07]: council.

[00:13:33] [SPEAKER_02]: I think it depends on Kyle.

[00:13:36] [SPEAKER_02]: They love Kyle.

[00:13:37] [SPEAKER_02]: They love Kyle.

[00:13:39] [SPEAKER_02]: But maybe people, a lot of times when you make a move like this,

[00:13:43] [SPEAKER_02]: when you take a big person out, you start to become more future

[00:13:47] [SPEAKER_02]: focused. I'm telling you, this is what happens in Survivor.

[00:13:50] [SPEAKER_02]: So maybe they're going to be thinking, oh my goodness, if we take

[00:13:53] [SPEAKER_02]: Kyle to the end, he's going to be a big threat.

[00:13:54] [SPEAKER_02]: Let's take Kyle out now because they've already felt that blind

[00:13:57] [SPEAKER_02]: side blood.

[00:13:58] [SPEAKER_02]: You know, they want to keep it going.

[00:13:59] [SPEAKER_02]: They want to continue it.

[00:14:00] [SPEAKER_02]: So I really think that, I agree with you.

[00:14:03] [SPEAKER_02]: I think that Tiana's on shakier ground.

[00:14:05] [SPEAKER_02]: I think that if she kept TK, she would have been good for the next

[00:14:08] [SPEAKER_02]: two tribals.

[00:14:09] [SPEAKER_02]: But I think that if Blue continues to win, then this is actually

[00:14:13] [SPEAKER_02]: a better, how am I going to phrase this? Bad short-term, better long-term.

[00:14:20] [SPEAKER_02]: The question is why are you thinking of the long-term when you should

[00:14:22] [SPEAKER_02]: be thinking of the short-term?

[00:14:24] [SPEAKER_07]: Yeah, I think that they've just got to figure out how to get through

[00:14:27] [SPEAKER_07]: every like next three days.

[00:14:29] [SPEAKER_07]: And I think that her position, like had they voted out Sue, I don't

[00:14:33] [SPEAKER_07]: see where Tiana would have not made the merge.

[00:14:36] [SPEAKER_07]: And I think that there is a possibility that she doesn't end up

[00:14:39] [SPEAKER_07]: making the merge now.

[00:14:40] [SPEAKER_02]: I can agree with you.

[00:14:42] [SPEAKER_02]: I'll agree with you on that point.

[00:14:43] [SPEAKER_02]: I think though, it's just a big point that this was a masterful move

[00:14:46] [SPEAKER_02]: from Carolyn, Sue and Gabe.

[00:14:48] [SPEAKER_02]: And they played that extremely well.

[00:14:50] [SPEAKER_07]: Yeah, but Marianne with these six-person tribes, these small groups,

[00:14:55] [SPEAKER_07]: like is it really just about like, I know we've like last season

[00:14:59] [SPEAKER_07]: I felt like if it was a mistake to get rid of Jelinski, you needed

[00:15:34] [SPEAKER_02]: And a lot of times that actually means that it's better for you to

[00:15:38] [SPEAKER_02]: go after going to tribal once.

[00:15:41] [SPEAKER_02]: So you would have instilled the trust with the other players.

[00:15:43] [SPEAKER_02]: We've seen time and time again, like for example in 41, the blue

[00:15:47] [SPEAKER_02]: tribe, Erika's tribe or 43 with the yellow tribe after they went to

[00:15:51] [SPEAKER_02]: tribal only on the first tribal never again.

[00:15:53] [SPEAKER_02]: They immediately implode once they get to being able to vote someone

[00:15:57] [SPEAKER_02]: out.

[00:15:58] [SPEAKER_02]: There's no trust built in the players.

[00:16:00] [SPEAKER_02]: They're antsy.

[00:16:00] [SPEAKER_02]: They're going for the kill.

[00:16:02] [SPEAKER_02]: So I think that it's so important to be able to go with people that

[00:16:06] [SPEAKER_02]: you trust rather than making it to the merge.

[00:16:08] [SPEAKER_02]: Because if you make it to the merge with someone who you don't like

[00:16:10] [SPEAKER_02]: probably not going to work.

[00:16:11] [SPEAKER_07]: Yeah, it's interesting because Gabe said in the preseason he wanted

[00:16:15] [SPEAKER_07]: to play like Russell.

[00:16:16] [SPEAKER_07]: That Russell was his hero.

[00:16:18] [SPEAKER_07]: He wanted to bring back the survivor game that he fell in love with

[00:16:26] [SPEAKER_07]: merge and he was down eight to four but his four was much tighter

[00:16:30] [SPEAKER_07]: than the larger Galoo eight and that ultimately carried through and

[00:16:36] [SPEAKER_07]: I've always said about survivor.

[00:16:38] [SPEAKER_07]: It doesn't matter necessarily about the overall numbers like the

[00:16:44] [SPEAKER_07]: largest tightest group is going to usually win the day.

[00:16:48] [SPEAKER_07]: Even if that's three, it could be two, you know, you have a tight

[00:16:53] [SPEAKER_07]: two against a loose like five or six people.

[00:16:56] [SPEAKER_07]: A lot of times that tight two is going to figure it out.

[00:19:33] [SPEAKER_04]: And you see so many times people get the idol they get so excited

[00:19:38] [SPEAKER_04]: because they think it's there like, you know ticket to the end and

[00:19:42] [SPEAKER_04]: more often than not it blows up, you know in 46 how many people are

[00:19:46] [SPEAKER_04]: leaving with idols in their pockets because of the idea the myth of

[00:19:52] [SPEAKER_04]: It is so clear to me that the real advantage is knowing where the

[00:20:49] [SPEAKER_02]: does someone who actually needs to play the idol make it to the end.

[00:20:53] [SPEAKER_02]: It's more important to know where the advantages are or to have the

[00:20:57] [SPEAKER_02]: I think now that knowing that that's Andy's hot take seeing how he

[00:26:02] [SPEAKER_02]: person except for the person who has the Idol, you know, we've seen
