Kevin Jacobs on Survivor B&B: S47 Ep 8

Mike and Liana are joined by Big Brother Canada 10 winner Kevin Jacobs for Episode 8!

[00:00:00] Mike and the Anna, yeah they're playing some games. You better pray to your Mama that they're not super lame. And if that all sounds cool I can tell you the name. It's the R-H-A-P-B-M-B.

[00:00:16] Mike and the Anna, yeah they're playing some games. You better pray to your Mama that they're not super awesome.

[00:00:25] School I can tell you the name. It's the R-H-A-P-M.

[00:00:35] Good gentle folk and welcome to the RHAP sleep chamber and morn meal. My name is Mike Bloom.

[00:00:45] And that was my best Shakespeare in the park. There we go. A little something to start off your daily on a Boris who looks as mystified as Sierra did at the tribal council.

[00:00:56] I thought you at first you were gonna do Jeff's British accent. That's what he did.

[00:01:01] Is that what that is that what that was supposed to be?

[00:01:05] I mean from the tone of your question it sounds like I did succeed in the mission, but yes that's the intention behind it.

[00:01:10] Okay, both equally bad. So I guess you did really capture Jeff Probst essence then.

[00:01:18] There we go. Exactly. All right. Well, we are talking today about a big episode of Survivor.

[00:01:24] Of course, a very eventful week and Survivor certainly added on to that with the return of the auction, a power flip.

[00:01:32] And at the head of it all glasses free since 2024 is Andy.

[00:01:39] And we're gonna talk with somebody who listen if you're not subscribed to the confessional at this point, what are you doing with your live?

[00:01:45] Because you're missing out on the fact that this guy put out an incredibly timing appropriate piece this past week about if Andy's life in Survivor was a movie.

[00:01:55] And it's safe to say Kevin Jacobs that we have right that we saw many weeks ago, but we have reached quite the climax in said film.

[00:02:03] I'm endlessly fascinated by Andy. He is he is everything. He is all that every week. He is interesting to watch.

[00:02:12] And if he doesn't win this season, I'm I'm right. Give me Andy on 50. Give me Andy on 49. Also, I love this man so much. And I am ready for the Andy doc.

[00:02:23] The constant fixture on Survivor becomes and yeah, put him in every season.

[00:02:29] It does feel scripted, right? Like it doesn't it feels good when Andy comes up with $0 from the auction or for the auction this week. No way.

[00:02:38] Which like right past the tubes. No way. Well, and I was also rewatching that scene. Pretty sure he wasn't wearing his glasses so that listen, I get the whole aesthetic approach to like, listen, I'm a whole new person now.

[00:02:50] But also you are nearsighted or farsighted in this case. You should probably wear your glasses because you will get zero money at the auction as a result.

[00:02:58] And you're assuming it wasn't intentional. Yeah, I mean, that's a good point as well.

[00:03:02] There is this next level idea of, OK, if I don't have any money, then I won't lose my vote.

[00:03:09] And while I think that Andy unfortunately wasn't able to eat anything at the auction, he was able to serve up his former tribe members a nice slice of humble pie.

[00:03:18] Mmm. Tasty.

[00:03:20] Tasty. Well, I think also if it was intentional, there was an opportunity to have food shared with others, which was really glossed over in the episode.

[00:03:32] I don't remember who won the cake, but then.

[00:03:36] Yeah, Sierra, maybe you had a peanut butter dish not to share with him.

[00:03:42] Yeah, she had she had the whole the bowl of peanut butter owed back to the Amazon and she picked what Gabe and Caroline, Caroline, I think.

[00:03:49] And it's it is a little bit like now maybe there was an unwritten rule that because Andy had no money, he had zero stakes in the auction.

[00:03:57] Like he couldn't participate in anything, including being brought in. He was a voyeur only.

[00:04:03] Yeah, but once you spend your money, you can still like I think didn't Gabe spend all his money at that point.

[00:04:09] So couldn't he? He's still. Yeah, he at least had money to begin with.

[00:04:12] Like maybe I see production was saying, listen, if you're going to try to play our game this way, Andy, we're going to try to outplay you back right now.

[00:04:20] You can't even talk during the auction.

[00:04:23] In fact, go stand in the corner and face away from us and think about what you did not finding any of those beautiful tubes in the jungle.

[00:04:31] It's like a knowledge without power kind of thing. Or what is safety without power?

[00:04:35] Yeah, he has to stay.

[00:04:38] Yeah, exactly. And you don't get to do anything.

[00:04:41] Oh, my God. Well, Kevin, what have your thoughts been about Survivor 47 so far?

[00:04:45] Because we have sort of not reached the final stage, but it is a pretty pivotal stage.

[00:04:49] The jury has now officially begun, despite the sort of like maybe stutter start we got with the merge and then splitting up again.

[00:04:57] And it does seem like, again, a huge phase shift in Andy finally being able to come into his own with this big storyline, a big rarity in Survivor.

[00:05:08] And we'll see how much it plays out for him down the line.

[00:05:11] But considering everything that's built up to this point, what have been your thoughts about the past two months of Survivor 47?

[00:05:18] What I like most about this season is that they have players.

[00:05:21] The players are playing, which I know crazy, crazy that that that stands out to me.

[00:05:27] But every almost all this cast seems like they actually want to win and they're willing to play to win, which I really appreciate.

[00:05:34] So even someone like a Caroline who hasn't necessarily been front and center in every episode is clearly a smart player who is self-interested.

[00:05:43] And that's all you can ask for in terms of the like wacky, weird stuff.

[00:05:49] There's there's enough to keep me interested.

[00:05:51] So I really enjoyed Rome.

[00:05:54] To me, Rome was a WWE character.

[00:05:58] He knew he was on TV.

[00:05:59] He was playing it up.

[00:06:00] I really enjoy Andy.

[00:06:03] I really enjoy like, I mean, I actually think they they got to get out teeny soon because teeny is such a fun character for me who's also playing a great game.

[00:06:13] So I'm having a good time.

[00:06:15] Is there too much of people losing their votes and not letting the players play?

[00:06:19] Absolutely.

[00:06:20] But I'm enjoying it.

[00:06:21] Mm hmm.

[00:06:22] I think that's a probably a solid assessment of the season because it's not overtly wacky, right?

[00:06:28] But there is enough smattering in there.

[00:06:30] And I think that the thing that stands out really is how every single player is actively trying to make a difference and have their way happen.

[00:06:38] Right.

[00:06:39] And I think that this episode is a really good example of that, where you have this Rachel Sierra Sam debate going on about who they're going to split their votes between.

[00:06:48] Who is it that there is the main target?

[00:06:50] And you we get to hear everybody advocating for their position.

[00:06:54] Genevieve advocates for Rachel.

[00:06:56] Teeny advocates for Sam.

[00:06:57] Right.

[00:06:58] Saul advocates for Sierra, which ultimately comes to fruition.

[00:07:01] And so we really are seeing everybody try to put in their input into the direction the game is headed.

[00:07:08] And yeah.

[00:07:09] And that makes me very excited, especially for the first.

[00:07:13] The sorry.

[00:07:13] Go ahead.

[00:07:14] Well, I mean, I think on the surface it's not wacky, but like if you go deeper, like, for example, Saul kind of played the straight man for the pre merge.

[00:07:23] And now he's putting together his SSA and like wearing a Rome shirt and a secrets like I think I on the surface level, they're normal people.

[00:07:33] But if you go one deeper, they're freaks.

[00:07:35] And I like that.

[00:07:36] Yeah, that's exactly it.

[00:07:37] In my opinion, it is the sort of thing that I'm going to do.

[00:07:38] I'm going to do the sort of like secret freaks, the iceberg freaks just sort of like, oh, you seem fine on the surface.

[00:07:43] But like because I think especially in comparison to 46, a lot of people early on were like, where is just the absolute wackadoo chaos that came with that.

[00:07:51] But what I love is that we sort of get a little bit more of like the vegetables to balance out the candy diet that was 46 that like this might end up being the most strategic season of the new era.

[00:08:04] I completely agree with what both of you are saying, especially from Liana's perspective, like that pre tribal council strategizing scene.

[00:08:10] It's honestly one of my favorites that I've seen in a long time because it was this weird sort of proxy war where each of the three Lavos were each sticking up for one of the three Gatas that were in danger.

[00:08:23] And it's also a lot of fun as well, because again, on paper, you think, OK, now Andy sort of like cobbled together.

[00:08:29] Octet is now going to run the rest of the game, but it's become abundantly clear.

[00:08:33] And it should early on that. It's like we can abdicate some control.

[00:08:37] But at the same time, I want to make sure I get what I want done.

[00:08:42] I think what's also really fun about this cast is I feel like they have a really good chemistry together, whether it's them like joking to each other or in the case of some of these, you know, you mentioned Roman Saul, like these big rivalries as well.

[00:08:55] I think that this cast happens to work really well together, not only from a strategic perspective, but the interpersonal perspective.

[00:09:03] As we've talked about numerous times in the past few weeks, they are not afraid to wear their heart on their sleeve.

[00:09:08] Even someone like Sierra, not as emotional as a lot of the boots that came before her, but still like very clearly surprised and pissed off.

[00:09:17] So there really is a lot to enjoy about this season.

[00:09:22] I mean, that said, I'm sort of on and off about the auction this time around.

[00:09:28] Like, for some reason, Jeff has it in his head that we need to stick with this idea of, OK, it's a race to lose your money the most of the, you know, the in the fastest amount of time or else you're going to lose your vote.

[00:09:40] So if we had to have that, then sure.

[00:09:44] How more random stuff on top of it?

[00:09:46] Do a cashback program to trick the people to try to bankrupt themselves.

[00:09:51] You know, do the whole Monty Hall stuff.

[00:09:53] In fact, do it even more if we're just going to like keep on complicating a knot that should just be a simple bow line.

[00:10:02] Then throw as many ropes in there as possible just to make it as, again, odd and weird as possible.

[00:10:10] Yeah, it's like for me, the way that Gabe did his best drew impression at Tribal Council where he was talking about the World War One ceasefire.

[00:10:22] I like that element of it.

[00:10:24] But if you're going to take someone's vote away, it makes it actually even more serious.

[00:10:28] I'm with you.

[00:10:29] Go more camp.

[00:10:29] Let them I think let them keep their vote.

[00:10:32] Like don't make it an arbitrary thing like that and get even weirder.

[00:10:35] Throw more fish eyes in there.

[00:10:36] Throw more grub in their throat.

[00:10:38] Have your family lined up and have one person get a family visit.

[00:10:41] Like, let's get as weird and crazy as possible.

[00:10:44] That would be wild.

[00:10:46] It would be absolutely wild if you could bet or even if it was just a phone call or something.

[00:10:50] Right.

[00:10:51] I, I.

[00:10:52] More practical.

[00:10:53] Hate.

[00:10:55] Hate, hate, hate this idea of you need to spend all your money.

[00:10:58] Because to me, it makes no, why?

[00:11:01] What is even the point?

[00:11:03] It's like, what auction is like that?

[00:11:06] Like auctions are so fun.

[00:11:07] And it's great if you get to see people doing these bidding wars.

[00:11:10] But what ends up happening is because it's like, ooh, I need to save my money because there might be something better coming on down the line.

[00:11:15] Like that's where the intrigue comes from.

[00:11:17] What ends up happening is that it's just like whoever has the most money bets all their money.

[00:11:22] And then that's it.

[00:11:22] It's done.

[00:11:23] And then it's like, well, whatever item I have, that's what I deal with.

[00:11:26] Right.

[00:11:27] Just because the losing your vote is such a big deal that you're not willing to do that.

[00:11:31] So fine.

[00:11:32] I'll eat the fish eye.

[00:11:34] I'll eat the worms, whatever.

[00:11:35] Like, let me just get rid of my money.

[00:11:37] And that's so dumb.

[00:11:39] It just takes away all the fun from the auction.

[00:11:40] And I actually forgot about that twist until Jeff mentioned it.

[00:11:43] And I looked over at Pooja and I was like, you've got to be kidding me.

[00:11:45] I was so mad that it came back.

[00:11:47] I hate it.

[00:11:48] I really, really genuinely hate it.

[00:11:49] And there are very few things that I really hate in Survivor.

[00:11:52] And for some reason, this is like the one thing I've decided I just really strongly dislike.

[00:11:57] Yeah.

[00:11:57] And so I don't think it's a coincidence that the first five items were done in the way of like a typical Survivor auction.

[00:12:03] Right.

[00:12:04] Except for like Jeff puts up the first item and says, all right, whoever bids $200 right now goes.

[00:12:09] And like, OK, sure.

[00:12:11] I guess that being the first item is a very interesting way to start the auction.

[00:12:15] But maybe it does represent a microcosm of to your point, Liana, the just spend as much of your money as possible.

[00:12:21] But I think that once we get past item five where Jeff pulls out the weird Shakespearean voice, then we start getting into, OK, item six was the apple pie.

[00:12:31] Saul spends all his money.

[00:12:33] Item seven, Rachel spends all her money on the burger and fries.

[00:12:36] Then Genevieve spends all her money on the tray of sweets.

[00:12:40] Then we get into, you know, the weird stuff going on with the grubs, which, again, is fun for me.

[00:12:45] Like Jeff talks about it on fire.

[00:12:46] Like he just wanted people to eat bugs again for whatever reason.

[00:12:50] Maybe he's feeling nostalgic for Borneo like the rest of us coming up on year 25 of the first season.

[00:12:55] And so he thought like, all right, I'm going to do a challenge inside of the challenge.

[00:12:59] The auction is a challenge in and of itself.

[00:13:01] But you could feel such a stark contrast for me between, OK, this is just a fun and fancy free auction in the first five items versus, OK, we got to get down to business with item six.

[00:13:14] OK, now my goal is less so to get food.

[00:13:16] That's more a corollary.

[00:13:17] My goal, first and foremost, is not to expend my vote.

[00:13:21] So I'm just going to throw cash, make it rain at Jeff whenever it's possible.

[00:13:28] Well, I think the other thing is there.

[00:13:30] OK, so like format aside, this is why I completely agree with the both of you that just lean into the camp, right?

[00:13:37] Because you got Jeff doing a British accent.

[00:13:40] You have Jeff being super, super interested in Kyle becoming vegetarian for Survivor.

[00:13:46] Like that was sort of weird that we got this sort of weird fixation.

[00:13:49] We got the what was the breakfast surprise?

[00:13:52] Oh, I'll wait, outplay, out breakfast, sunrise spectacular.

[00:13:56] Is that like on the Ponderosa menu?

[00:13:58] Did he make that up on the spot?

[00:14:00] I really hope I think he may.

[00:14:02] I don't think he made it up on the spot.

[00:14:04] I think he wanted to do his best Denny's and try to like create a signature dish.

[00:14:09] And I'm obsessed with it just because, hey, now like could you imagine Sierra now going back to Ponderosa and being like, OK, can I finally have that now that I had to eat a bug?

[00:14:21] Or decided not to eat a bug to get this now.

[00:14:25] And also the phrase out wit, outplay, out breakfast.

[00:14:30] Out breakfast.

[00:14:31] Makes absolutely no sense.

[00:14:34] Yeah, totally.

[00:14:35] Yeah, amazing.

[00:14:36] Like it feels like if you were doing some sort of corporate event, right?

[00:14:39] And they come up with these customized Survivor buffs and it's like out wit, outplay, out Q4 sales.

[00:14:45] It's like, sure, I guess that that fits in that it begins without, but it makes little logic by comparison to the other two words.

[00:14:54] That's so good.

[00:14:55] That's so funny.

[00:14:57] It's so stupid.

[00:14:58] That's great.

[00:14:58] More of that.

[00:14:59] More of that.

[00:14:59] More of the cashback program, which didn't impact anything.

[00:15:02] It was $60, right?

[00:15:06] OK.

[00:15:07] It was the only one with cashback.

[00:15:09] Yeah.

[00:15:09] Didn't understand that at all.

[00:15:11] And then, of course, one of my favorite moments to cap things off is after the auction is over and Jeff looks at the camera and he's telling you to apply to Survivor.

[00:15:18] The auction looks fun to apply to Survivor.

[00:15:20] Dips his pinky finger in the peanut butter and licks it off.

[00:15:25] What a weird moment.

[00:15:27] It was amazing.

[00:15:28] I think it really hit this happy medium for the Probst Master General in that it's like, OK, I want like a button to end this on.

[00:15:35] Hey, there's a big glass of peanut butter still here.

[00:15:38] I'm going to dip it in and lick it off.

[00:15:40] But also these grimy ass people who haven't showered in two weeks just stuck their absolutely dirtied hands into this confectionary jar.

[00:15:53] Like, I don't want to catch anything.

[00:15:55] I've still got 12 days left of this.

[00:15:57] I got to be in my tip top shape.

[00:15:58] So, like, let me go for the least amount of cross contamination possible.

[00:16:02] A little pinky finger in peanut butter.

[00:16:05] I can make sense of this, actually.

[00:16:07] So, there's a theory that many years ago, Paul McCartney was replaced in the Beatles.

[00:16:16] Oh, OK.

[00:16:17] By a lookalike body devil.

[00:16:19] Yes.

[00:16:20] Now, personally, I don't believe that.

[00:16:22] But what I do believe is roughly a few seasons ago.

[00:16:28] I think we still got Paul.

[00:16:29] I think Paul is still out there doing his thing, like, you know, playing with Wings sometimes, the solo stuff.

[00:16:34] You know, he's out there.

[00:16:36] I think a few seasons ago, they replaced Probst with someone else that looks like Probst.

[00:16:43] And this character, this person who is speaking Shakespeare and sticking his pinky in.

[00:16:51] I'm not convinced this is Jeff.

[00:16:53] Oh, I mean.

[00:16:54] Survivor man.

[00:16:55] Well, I think it's more so.

[00:16:56] Could they have, like, been trying to test some sort of prototypical AI piece?

[00:17:02] Yeah, it could be.

[00:17:03] Like, obviously, maybe this version of Jeff, to your point, Kevin, predates a chat GPT and that craze.

[00:17:10] But maybe they were trying it out.

[00:17:12] They're trying to adapt it into a physical flesh and blood model.

[00:17:16] And so, they have just, like, completely lost the plot.

[00:17:20] You have AI Jeff being like, does anybody else go to the carnival and play these types of games?

[00:17:25] And they're like, I don't know what I'm saying right now.

[00:17:28] I can't pull them away or the entire guide is going to get given up.

[00:17:31] Yeah, they gave it a prompt and they were like, hey, when you walk into the auction with this item,

[00:17:36] can you say it in iambic pentameter and a British accent and pretend like that's Shakespeare?

[00:17:43] And then he goes out and he does that.

[00:17:45] And it's like a little bit uncanny.

[00:17:47] And you just sort of, OK.

[00:17:49] Yeah, I love the idea that the devs are just like, OK, what weird stuff can we make this AI do next?

[00:17:54] Big Brother got Ainsley.

[00:17:55] We get AI Jeff Probst.

[00:17:56] It all makes sense.

[00:17:57] Oh, well, I think maybe Jeff had some more janky moments in AI.

[00:18:01] I mean, the new era is a little janky-esque in that it's Jeff, like, getting glee sometimes out of the personal tortures that these people exhibit.

[00:18:10] I want to go back to the Kyle of it all because, yeah, what a what an inch.

[00:18:15] I'm surprised, frankly, that, like, PETA has not called for the banning of the show,

[00:18:21] considering, like, I'm not sure what the tone was to take away from that scene of, like, good for you, Kyle, succumbing to eating the wings.

[00:18:29] Or was it more so meant to be, like, a quirky, you know, Kyle's trying to be like, I'm such an animal.

[00:18:33] I can't I can't look at myself in the mirror anymore.

[00:18:38] Are you saying from, like, Kyle's perspective?

[00:18:41] Or just the idea, like, objectively the idea of, OK, this guy has this this standard that he didn't want to harm any animals.

[00:18:50] He talked about this a few weeks back in a secret scene.

[00:18:52] And now he's like, ah, too hungry.

[00:18:55] And then just downs a bunch of chicken wings like that is a little odd on paper.

[00:19:00] The tone, the tone was confusing.

[00:19:02] The tone was very confusing.

[00:19:04] He, like, really was was disgusted with himself.

[00:19:06] And he's also like, I'm just hungry.

[00:19:10] And Jeff's like, yeah, yeah, yeah.

[00:19:13] OK, I 100 percent agree.

[00:19:14] And on top of that, when he eats that first wing, he cleans that bone.

[00:19:20] That is a man who knows how to ride a bike.

[00:19:22] You never forget how to dust off a drumstick.

[00:19:25] Exactly.

[00:19:27] Yeah, he was definitely just smiling too much.

[00:19:30] And I don't know if that's just Kyle in general.

[00:19:32] That's true.

[00:19:34] Or out there is just like excited.

[00:19:36] I mean, they're already dead, Kyle.

[00:19:38] I mean, bring it back to life.

[00:19:39] What I will say is, like, I think this the dynamic that has brummed up to become my favorite

[00:19:45] thing is Kyle and Saul.

[00:19:47] Like, they feel like they're two sides of the same coin and that they are just such

[00:19:51] unique personas, right?

[00:19:52] Like, Kyle kind of always has this really positive way of speaking, even if his day is going

[00:19:57] wrong where he's talking about, like, I won my third immunity challenge.

[00:20:00] That's great.

[00:20:01] I'm probably going to get voted out tomorrow.

[00:20:03] But you know what?

[00:20:04] Today's pretty darn good.

[00:20:06] And then you have Saul who speaks like this.

[00:20:09] And even when he's incredibly angry, he's just going to sit around and say it like it

[00:20:14] is.

[00:20:14] And like these two are two sides of the same coin.

[00:20:17] And so I don't think it was a surprise whatsoever in retrospect that they absolutely love each

[00:20:21] other at the beginning of this episode.

[00:20:23] They're just like the I feel like they're the king of the hill, like those four guys, like

[00:20:27] just like stand in there like, yep, yep.

[00:20:30] Got the like cut off the top of the coconut.

[00:20:33] Yep.

[00:20:33] You know, they have the same communication style.

[00:20:37] That doesn't quite match.

[00:20:39] And then that secret scene that you're talking about, Kevin Saul's like, you know, Roman and

[00:20:43] I really hated each other.

[00:20:44] I kind of want to wear his shirt and cause like you should definitely do that.

[00:20:47] That sounds like a great idea.

[00:20:49] Yeah.

[00:20:50] And then he just like puts it on and I'm going to do something crazy.

[00:20:54] And he just kind of like stands around in the shirt and doesn't really do anything crazy.

[00:20:57] Like seriously, people look out for this dynamic.

[00:20:59] This is one of my favorite duos, maybe in recent memory on the show because they just

[00:21:06] they talk about how Survivor is a once in a lifetime experience where you get to interact

[00:21:10] with people that you would never talk with in real life.

[00:21:15] They just pass by on the street, look into each other's, not each other's, look into

[00:21:19] your own phone and don't really give the time of day.

[00:21:22] I think to be candid, these guys are, for lack of a better term, soulmates.

[00:21:26] And I'm so happy that the two of them have come together right now to just bond over

[00:21:32] having these like plaintive contemplative personalities.

[00:21:35] And also over the fact that these kids haven't seen the Karate Kid.

[00:21:40] That is disgusting.

[00:21:43] They can bond over references.

[00:21:45] They're they're getting along.

[00:21:46] It's great.

[00:21:47] We love that.

[00:21:48] I mean, close enough.

[00:21:49] Welcome back.

[00:21:50] John Lovett complaining about like, oh, these people don't know these references.

[00:21:54] See, he would have fit in well with these guys.

[00:21:57] We just had to get the one from each tribe together.

[00:21:59] They could have all been BFFs.

[00:22:00] I do want to briefly go back to the out with outplay out breakfast, breakfast surprise or

[00:22:08] whatever it was called.

[00:22:10] And Jeff AI.

[00:22:11] So I did ask AI to name food dishes based on Survivor just to see what would come up.

[00:22:17] And it came up with some pretty generic ones, tribal council tacos, blindside brownies.

[00:22:22] But it did come out with out with outlast out snack nachos.

[00:22:28] So there's some credence to this theory, I think, with AI Jeff Probst.

[00:22:34] Outwit, outlast, out snack.

[00:22:36] Out snack nachos.

[00:22:38] Liana, that's horrific.

[00:22:40] That's horrible.

[00:22:41] That is just so bad.

[00:22:43] Look, I'm not saying that it's good, but I'm saying that at least that same pattern of.

[00:22:48] Yeah, yeah.

[00:22:49] It's better than out breakfast.

[00:22:51] Yeah, I like it.

[00:22:52] Like it's it's great.

[00:22:54] It doesn't even make sense.

[00:22:55] That's not a verb.

[00:22:56] Breakfast is not a verb.

[00:22:56] I mean, that's the thing.

[00:22:57] If I was given the exercise, it's like closer to what I would give as my answer, which would

[00:23:03] be out chip for a nacho based dish.

[00:23:06] But it's definitely to Kevin's point, not just naming the time of day that you usually

[00:23:11] have this meal, which is where we settle with out.

[00:23:14] Went out, play out breakfast, sunrise spectacular, which also sounds like the name of like a

[00:23:19] Survivor fire festival.

[00:23:21] You know, like, hey, come to that.

[00:23:23] Went out, play out breakfast, sunrise spectacular.

[00:23:25] Chase rice.

[00:23:26] Ben Capsman playing one night only.

[00:23:29] I would go to that as long as there's food.

[00:23:33] I mean, breakfast surprises or whatever.

[00:23:36] No, it's only the grubs.

[00:23:38] Oh, are we are we banning margaritas?

[00:23:42] That's a good point.

[00:23:43] We have to.

[00:23:44] Yeah.

[00:23:44] So now we have a curse, folks, especially in the new era.

[00:23:49] We had last time Kelly Nelbandian drank a margarita, relished her time there, got voted out that

[00:23:56] very episode.

[00:23:57] Sierra lavishing in her margarita takes a fake selfie with Jeff, ends up getting voted out

[00:24:03] in that very episode.

[00:24:04] And I believe also I think it's Rob's fact checker or someone online has also tracked that the last two

[00:24:09] auctions that happened before the new era, which was worlds apart and which was which was

[00:24:15] Kaga Yan, the person who bought the margarita in the form of Jeffra and Jen got voted out in that episode.

[00:24:24] What my theory presupposes is I don't know if we need to get rid of the margaritas.

[00:24:29] I would more so say like, I don't know if you're a young woman and it's tough because I would imagine

[00:24:35] the bit of bread and butter when it comes to like I see a mark, I see a mark, I go crazy, but like

[00:24:40] stave off temptation, you know, save your money.

[00:24:43] Don't go in on the margarita because chances are that's going to spell your doom more so than the

[00:24:48] hangover the next day.

[00:24:49] I just think the items covered.

[00:24:51] What do you do?

[00:24:52] You're done.

[00:24:53] You've been on it and you're done.

[00:24:54] You're game's over.

[00:24:55] It's fate.

[00:24:57] I imagine they they just if they were to stay in the game, they would just wake up with the worst

[00:25:04] hangover like you've barely eaten and you have this giant you've this giant margarita that's

[00:25:09] filled with with sugar and booze and then you just wake up in the Fijian sun like sweating like maybe

[00:25:15] they're winning by getting voted out because I imagine that morning would be absolute torture.

[00:25:20] You've had you've had 200 calories that day and you're drinking this giant bowl and you wake

[00:25:25] up and you're next to like Dan Foley like night.

[00:25:30] Yeah, maybe.

[00:25:32] Oh, maybe that's what it is.

[00:25:33] Maybe it's like a sort of a mercy kill.

[00:25:36] Yeah, exactly.

[00:25:37] Out of your misery.

[00:25:38] We'll send you to Fonda Rosa.

[00:25:39] Don't worry.

[00:25:40] It's OK.

[00:25:40] I mean, that's the thing.

[00:25:41] Maybe they should provide more unhealthy items for these starving people so that it just makes

[00:25:46] you feel like, you know what?

[00:25:48] I don't need to go strategize today.

[00:25:50] Like, I'm just too full.

[00:25:52] I'm too hungover.

[00:25:54] And so then everyone else plots their doom while you're still trying to like nurse the

[00:25:58] havoc that the margarita wreaked on you.

[00:26:00] Yeah.

[00:26:00] The Del Campo special.

[00:26:03] Meat's so tender.

[00:26:04] So how do we move forward from here?

[00:26:06] Because it looks like hell hath no fury like a Sam scored.

[00:26:09] It seems like that he wants to sort of set fire to everything now that it was abundantly

[00:26:15] clear that the Gata Tuku war has resulted in quite a casualty.

[00:26:20] My mind keeps going back to what Jeff said preseason about how the theme was ever shifting

[00:26:26] power.

[00:26:26] Do we believe that that's the case?

[00:26:28] Do we think that like this alliance of eight will hold to get rid of a Rachel or a Sam?

[00:26:33] Or do you think it really was?

[00:26:35] Okay, we'll work with each other for one vote, but there are bigger fish to fry.

[00:26:40] Hmm.

[00:26:41] I think it's going to be interesting to see what Tuku does in this situation, because

[00:26:45] we I feel like even though, yes, we got to hear everybody sort of advocating for their

[00:26:49] position, we didn't hear as much from them.

[00:26:53] So Caroline, for example, had talked so much about Rachel's such a big threat.

[00:26:57] So is there a universe where, okay, now we go back to Rachel?

[00:27:00] Or is this a situation where we don't want any one group to get too much power, but they

[00:27:04] still have four people.

[00:27:06] So I think there's absolutely a universe where if Kyle, for example, immunity winner extraordinaire

[00:27:11] is available to be voted out, you know, do things shift in the other direction and Kyle

[00:27:16] ultimately ends up going home.

[00:27:17] I think we're going to see a very fluid gameplay throughout the rest of the season, especially

[00:27:21] because we have so many cross tribal alliances now.

[00:27:26] Rachel, Andy, Sam marked as safe from next episode.

[00:27:31] They're they're going to be good.

[00:27:33] The the power is moving too fast.

[00:27:35] And now that especially when you have the the sort of power duo of Sam and Sierra one's

[00:27:41] gone, they're going to move on.

[00:27:42] I actually think Sam and Andy are going to I almost think with Andy, it's part of like,

[00:27:48] I don't know, I want Sam to myself.

[00:27:50] Like now that Sierra is gone, I think he's going to work on that relationship again.

[00:27:54] And I mean, they got they got to take out Tuku if they're going to because it's it's getting

[00:27:59] it's getting a little tight there.

[00:28:01] They're there for them like that.

[00:28:02] I just I think I think a Tuku is going.

[00:28:05] I think it's going to be Kyle the second he doesn't win immunity, because also look at

[00:28:10] the fact that like, yes, the Tuku stuck together as a block this time around, but it's because

[00:28:14] Gabe was up on the block and Gabe has probably the most connections from what we've seen

[00:28:20] in this Tuku block where obviously he has the thing with Sue and Caroline.

[00:28:23] And it seems like he had some sort of connection with Kyle where he was feeding him all this

[00:28:27] Tiana stuff.

[00:28:28] So I do think that if and when Kyle is vulnerable, that I could see again, we've we've said it

[00:28:36] for weeks that like Sue is looking for any and all excuse to kind of turn on Kyle.

[00:28:42] And I can imagine this would be the case.

[00:28:44] Maybe it also pushes forward this idea of, you know, what ended up happening with the

[00:28:49] Tiana boot, which is like, we're not this unified block of four.

[00:28:52] Don't worry about us.

[00:28:53] I could see to your point, Kevin, it sort of just becomes this game of like, OK, this

[00:28:58] week, what's the block of voters that are the most threatening?

[00:29:01] And then you vote one of them out and it's like, well, they're not really threatening

[00:29:04] anymore.

[00:29:05] They lost the number.

[00:29:06] Let's focus on this other thing rather than necessarily what Sam was advocating for,

[00:29:11] which is just like this pure cleaning of house of one in particular alliance.

[00:29:17] I think that there's no way that that's going to happen.

[00:29:19] I mean, one, obviously knowing what Jeff said, but even just if you look at the game

[00:29:23] board, you look at the connections that people are making.

[00:29:26] There's so much going on and you have now got it down to three, even though Andy's

[00:29:32] obviously sort of flip.

[00:29:33] You have Lava with three and Tuku with four.

[00:29:36] And so I have to imagine there's going to be some sort of spreading of the votes as they

[00:29:41] seem to pick off whoever shifts now to the top of being the threat list.

[00:29:46] That seems to also just be the general game plan and the new era in general.

[00:29:50] Once you reach merge, let's let's put our cards down right here.

[00:29:54] Does Rachel play her idol next episode?

[00:29:57] She obviously makes this fantastic read to play the shot in the dark to basically gauge

[00:30:03] everybody's reactions to see if she needs to play the idol.

[00:30:06] Nobody really does a thing.

[00:30:08] And so she decides not to do a thing as well.

[00:30:11] Do you think, though, she's spooked enough in being left out of the vote to say, like,

[00:30:16] I'm playing this next time no matter what, because there's a good chance I could be surprised

[00:30:21] again.

[00:30:22] No, no, there is nothing better in this season than being on the bottom.

[00:30:30] Someone is going to scoop her up, be it Genevieve or teeny or maybe she's already in

[00:30:38] Saul's secret agents like it's if you are visibly, which she isn't necessarily.

[00:30:44] But if you're visibly on the bottom, which she gets credit for making herself seem that

[00:30:49] way, like you're you're good.

[00:30:50] You're going to you're going to survive the next vote.

[00:30:52] I think she'll be safe.

[00:30:53] I don't even think she's going to be an option.

[00:30:55] Wow.

[00:30:55] And I think, Liana, well, I think I agree with Kevin.

[00:30:58] I think that also by her playing her shot in the dark hides the fact that she has the

[00:31:03] idol to a certain extent, even though obviously we know because she's looking around trying

[00:31:08] to gauge people's reactions to her being safe from the shot in the dark.

[00:31:12] But OK, so now she knows that she knows that, yes, while she was left out of the vote, she

[00:31:16] was not the target.

[00:31:17] She got zero votes on her.

[00:31:20] And now she has this completely secret idol.

[00:31:23] I think that if she can work on those relationships and if she starts to hear, I mean, especially if

[00:31:27] Kyle doesn't want immunity, there's no way she's going to play it.

[00:31:31] Right. Because even though we know that there are some people who are looking at Rachel,

[00:31:35] specifically Caroline, I think that that isn't going to come to fruition until a little bit

[00:31:39] later. So I think that Rachel is probably safe, at least for next week, to not be playing

[00:31:43] that idol.

[00:31:44] What do you think about the way of finding this idol?

[00:31:48] I mean, we've talked about in the seasons past, like putting it underneath the shelter,

[00:31:53] but cutting open the tar, I guess I should say putting a slit in the tar to reach in and

[00:32:00] grab it. I mean, this is maybe one of the riskiest idols, I think, besides outright

[00:32:05] finding it in the middle of a challenge.

[00:32:08] I would love to have heard what her game plan was if she got caught, right?

[00:32:11] Because that's something I would think of.

[00:32:13] So I would say, OK, obviously, I'm going to go for it.

[00:32:15] But if someone comes by, what am I going to say I'm doing?

[00:32:18] Like fixing the shelter?

[00:32:19] I don't know.

[00:32:21] Because she did it with everyone there.

[00:32:23] That's wild to me.

[00:32:25] Two things for me.

[00:32:26] One is, if I was one of the other 10 castaways and I was in the shelter and watching this

[00:32:32] on TV, I would be hitting myself.

[00:32:34] Like, that's so embarrassing for them.

[00:32:36] Wake up.

[00:32:37] Wake up.

[00:32:38] Look around.

[00:32:38] Look around.

[00:32:39] There are 10 of you.

[00:32:39] Look around.

[00:32:40] And then second, if I'm Rachel and I get caught, I'm leaning into it.

[00:32:46] I am saying I'm playing this tonight.

[00:32:48] Maybe I will.

[00:32:49] Maybe I won't.

[00:32:49] But I'm OK.

[00:32:52] You know about it.

[00:32:53] Cool.

[00:32:53] Here's my idol.

[00:32:54] You play around this.

[00:32:56] This is a power play for me.

[00:32:57] Yeah, that's the thing is that and it would make Jeff so angry, right?

[00:33:02] Because we talked about this last week, Liana, that you can tell that production maybe isn't

[00:33:07] the happiest.

[00:33:08] Like they're happy that people are playing idols, but not with the fact that people basically

[00:33:11] just make them like, you know, one time uses and that they pretty much amount to

[00:33:17] nothing in terms of ultimate outcomes.

[00:33:19] If Rachel got caught and had to make it get another public idol that she basically had

[00:33:23] to use that night and have no impact on the vote, that honestly might send Jeff AI into

[00:33:30] overdrive.

[00:33:31] He might need to be rebooted after that.

[00:33:33] Yeah.

[00:33:33] That's janky week.

[00:33:35] It's yeah.

[00:33:36] We're going to have AI, the death of Jeff AI.

[00:33:39] And we all have to mourn it and sing a song as he's dying.

[00:33:42] In this season, it would make sense.

[00:33:45] P R O B S T.

[00:33:49] Probstee, Probstee.

[00:33:50] We love thee.

[00:33:53] We love thee.

[00:33:53] We love thee.

[00:33:54] That's so sad.

[00:33:55] Oh yeah.

[00:33:56] I mean, look, it's it was definitely a ballsy play, but clearly she could sense that she was

[00:34:03] on the outs.

[00:34:03] And especially when you just come from a tribal council was essentially your dead man

[00:34:07] walking until Saul gives you that advantage, which also that's the other thing.

[00:34:11] What do we feel about Saul telling Rachel that he was the one who gave it to her?

[00:34:16] Because we had discussed this last week about maybe like he should, he shouldn't.

[00:34:20] I know there was a lot of discourse about what he should be saying, but ultimately it does

[00:34:24] seem that he wanted to tell her to cultivate that relationship to get the SSA is up and running.

[00:34:29] Yeah.

[00:34:29] I mean, you and I talked about this with Mary last week, Liana, that, you know, this is

[00:34:34] an opportunity to make a connection.

[00:34:35] I think, and I even allege this as well in last week's podcast, that there must have

[00:34:41] been something off screen that he was clearly trying to work on.

[00:34:44] And he makes that clear, obviously, in the opening here that, yes, maybe it was a way

[00:34:48] to also earn goodwill with the Lavos and the Gatas.

[00:34:51] But it seems first and foremost, he had this personal connection with Rachel that he wanted

[00:34:55] to foster.

[00:34:56] I do find it interesting that he basically tells her like, and don't tell anybody or it

[00:35:01] will hurt me.

[00:35:02] I mean, I guess it works from this perspective because it's like, I am one of your biggest

[00:35:05] lifelines in the game.

[00:35:07] And so if you hurt me, you're hurting yourself.

[00:35:08] But at the same time, I feel like it's sometimes a tough deal to make in these social strategy

[00:35:13] shows of like, hey, don't do this thing because it's really going to reduce my chances of winning

[00:35:19] the game.

[00:35:21] I actually think he played it really well.

[00:35:22] I maybe wouldn't use the same phrasing for keeping it a secret, but you got to use it

[00:35:28] to build the relationship.

[00:35:29] And I think waiting on it until this this game moves so fast, an hour before tribal be

[00:35:35] like, I was the one who saved you four days ago.

[00:35:38] Oh, like it's kind of hard to move on that at that time.

[00:35:41] I like.

[00:35:43] I think if at that moment he had essentially tried to make a final three with her, I think

[00:35:47] that's perfect because then it's not about when you say, oh, hey, don't tell anyone.

[00:35:52] It's not about Saul.

[00:35:54] It's about Rachel.

[00:35:56] Right?

[00:35:56] Like he's saying, don't tell anyone because I want to go to the final three with you and

[00:36:00] we need to protect us.

[00:36:02] It becomes about the us, the we, not the I.

[00:36:05] So I think that that could have been a good way to, you know, and maybe he did that.

[00:36:08] Maybe we just didn't see it.

[00:36:09] But I think also then it affirms like, hey, look, I'm very serious about going to the end

[00:36:14] with you.

[00:36:14] And then hopefully that can lock them into this sort of silent agreement.

[00:36:18] Yeah.

[00:36:19] So we shall see.

[00:36:20] I mean, that's also a really interesting relationship.

[00:36:22] And we talk about to your point, Kevin, of like Rachel's going to be absolutely fine next

[00:36:25] episode.

[00:36:26] That is not only a good reason why she stayed this episode, but maybe moving forward is

[00:36:31] like if we continue to have these Lavo three really be in the middle of everything.

[00:36:36] If you have someone vouching for you so much as Saul is, then yeah, I can hopefully combat

[00:36:43] any sort of wave that someone like Caroline continuously brings it.

[00:36:46] And I guess Genevieve Genevieve now is sort of on board saying, oh, Rachel's too threatening

[00:36:51] at this point.

[00:36:52] Yeah.

[00:36:52] Like if this was the traitors, the Lavo three would be the traitors.

[00:36:56] And if you make friends with the traitors, they're going to look out for you as they're

[00:37:00] committing their murders.

[00:37:03] Exactly.

[00:37:04] Didn't land.

[00:37:04] That didn't hit.

[00:37:05] That didn't hit.

[00:37:06] No, no.

[00:37:06] I love it.

[00:37:07] I mean, that was the strategy of a survivor winner on that show last season.

[00:37:11] Right.

[00:37:11] That was Sandra's entire MO.

[00:37:12] It's like, oh, or she claims I'm like, oh, I knew who the traitors were, but I know

[00:37:16] if I buddy up to them, then they have every reason to keep me and no reasons to get rid

[00:37:21] of me.

[00:37:22] Yeah.

[00:37:22] I mean, I just think there's so much power in those three.

[00:37:25] They're probably going to cannibalize each other at some point.

[00:37:28] And like them meeting in, I think it was the water to like discuss everything did give me

[00:37:32] a lot of shades of the traitors going up to the tower and pulling off their metaphoric

[00:37:36] hoods and talking about who they want to kill tonight.

[00:37:38] Thanks for saving my metaphor there.

[00:37:41] Nice.

[00:37:41] Anytime.

[00:37:42] Anytime.

[00:37:42] Well, if only they have the terrible portraits on the portrait wall as well.

[00:37:46] Yeah.

[00:37:47] Yeah.

[00:37:47] Do you think Jeff should, after snuffing someone's torch, like take a portrait of them off the

[00:37:53] tribal council wall and throw it into the fire at the center?

[00:37:55] Please.

[00:37:56] Yes.

[00:37:57] Obviously.

[00:37:59] Because I think that we got rid of like the Jeff Jerry Springer ask final thoughts to

[00:38:05] the contestants.

[00:38:06] Jonathan LaPaglia is still having them going.

[00:38:08] Especially with some, some puns thrown in there.

[00:38:10] So I think it's a good reason for Jeff to bring them back.

[00:38:13] Like he could pull Sierra's portrait off the wall and says the only thing that you can't

[00:38:16] nurse is a nice burn from a blind side and then just toss the portrait into the fire.

[00:38:22] You just come up with that right now?

[00:38:23] Mm-hmm.

[00:38:24] That's amazing.

[00:38:25] Just hire me Jeff.

[00:38:26] I can be your, your ghost writer there.

[00:38:27] I'll whisper into your AI ear.

[00:38:29] I'll give you the prompt.

[00:38:30] Yeah.

[00:38:31] You just have to type it.

[00:38:32] You can do it remotely.

[00:38:33] That way you don't even have to be there.

[00:38:35] Well, let's.

[00:38:36] Oh, you're good to have the same name?

[00:38:38] Well, no, I was just going to, the other thing, and this sort of leads into what we're going

[00:38:42] to talk about with our predictions.

[00:38:43] But I do kind of want to talk about like the arc of the Sam Sierra pairing and how we

[00:38:50] got so much buildup of like them as a pair.

[00:38:52] And then we got to see everything.

[00:38:54] I mean, obviously it started with the Andy starting to turn, but I think even especially

[00:38:58] in this episode, there were just a few little comments that were included by the editors

[00:39:02] that I really appreciated.

[00:39:03] So Sam, when he was doing his commentary of the money hunt, when he goes, Andy last as usual,

[00:39:09] and we know that Andy is going to turn.

[00:39:12] So it was sort of this just beautiful setup for ultimately everyone going in on the two

[00:39:16] of them.

[00:39:17] And then you had later on in the episode, the Sierra confessional talking about, you know,

[00:39:22] we're just dragging him along.

[00:39:24] We have him in our pocket.

[00:39:25] And then Andy saying, they think they have me in their pocket.

[00:39:28] That was so beautiful.

[00:39:29] I really appreciated that from the editors telling that narrative.

[00:39:32] I've also talked about this on social media, that it is my low key theory that yes, Sam

[00:39:38] does not end up with the lowest amount of money, obviously by default.

[00:39:42] Andy does, but he does end up with a low enough amount where he ends up, you know, succumbing

[00:39:46] to the most amount of money, least amount of votes, twist in a manner of speaking.

[00:39:51] I think partially it's because he was outfitted briefly in the middle of the jungle to hold

[00:39:56] onto a bamboo tube and do some sort of breaking news report as everyone else is running around

[00:40:00] around him.

[00:40:02] Yeah.

[00:40:03] They screwed him.

[00:40:04] Reporting live.

[00:40:06] Yeah.

[00:40:07] Damn it, Sam.

[00:40:07] If only you were, I don't know, a detective or something, they wouldn't have pulled you

[00:40:10] aside for occupational base confessionals.

[00:40:14] Yeah.

[00:40:15] Yeah, exactly.

[00:40:16] It's his own fault.

[00:40:17] Shouldn't have been a reporter.

[00:40:18] Well, the Gata relationships.

[00:40:20] I don't know.

[00:40:21] I'm just I'm in.

[00:40:21] I'm on another planet.

[00:40:22] The Gata relationships are really interesting.

[00:40:24] I just keep my head just keeps going to like the first episode or two.

[00:40:28] Rachel and Andy had some weird stuff going on where.

[00:40:31] Yeah.

[00:40:32] They like kind of headed off and the ratio is like, I can't work with this guy.

[00:40:36] I'm waiting for the ball to drop on something there.

[00:40:39] Yeah.

[00:40:39] I do wonder how that got followed up on because obviously, you know, it's a little bit of

[00:40:44] discord for us of, OK, it seems like it's Andy.

[00:40:47] It's Andy.

[00:40:47] It's Andy.

[00:40:47] Then wait.

[00:40:48] Why is it John love it?

[00:40:49] And we found out a little bit from people like Annika and like Sierra about how maybe

[00:40:53] that wasn't necessarily the case.

[00:40:55] But obviously, the two would have had to have some sort of conversation in those intervening

[00:41:01] days between, you know, Andy panicking in the middle of the night and waking Rachel up

[00:41:04] to now.

[00:41:05] I am intrigued to see like if they ever got on the same page or at least feigned it because

[00:41:10] a lot of and understandably so a lot of this, you know, Carrie esque edit of Andy is coming

[00:41:17] from Sam and Sierra because they're like, we're specifically keeping Andy in for this

[00:41:20] reason.

[00:41:21] But obviously on a tribe of five, a tribe of four, you're talking with everybody.

[00:41:25] And so I guess maybe we'll find out next week exactly where they stand.

[00:41:31] And I mean, it should also be noted as well.

[00:41:33] Like, I don't think I'm trying to remember because obviously Andy is the one that at least

[00:41:37] is portrayed as spearheading this.

[00:41:39] He does not mention Rachel.

[00:41:40] He says that specifically he wants revenge on Sam and Sierra.

[00:41:45] Maybe it was because mainly they were the ones to throw his name out at this merge piece.

[00:41:49] There's more to this story.

[00:41:51] Yeah, that is what Sam said during that confessional.

[00:41:55] We got no update.

[00:41:57] We've got no update on their relationship, Rachel and Andy.

[00:42:01] Nothing.

[00:42:02] I mean, we didn't even get it.

[00:42:03] I mean, I guess maybe I'm thinking in the Annika boot a little bit with Andy just, but

[00:42:09] that was more about talking about sort of laying this, the, you know, the fake play and pretending

[00:42:14] to be, oh my gosh, I don't know.

[00:42:16] I'll do anything, whatever you guys want, but nothing really about how he feels about Rachel.

[00:42:20] Does he want to work with Rachel?

[00:42:21] Does he want Rachel gone?

[00:42:22] Nothing.

[00:42:23] We've heard nothing about that.

[00:42:25] Yeah.

[00:42:25] Which is interesting as well, because like, you know, who's also who's part of the SSAs?

[00:42:30] Like we know there's one member so far, but who else is part of it?

[00:42:35] Is this a fledgling organization?

[00:42:36] I know.

[00:42:37] Has Saul deeply laid these plans?

[00:42:39] I mean, maybe Kyle could be a part of it as well.

[00:42:41] Like Kyle, Rachel.

[00:42:43] Kyle, Rachel.

[00:42:43] Maybe I would say I'm trying to think of like of the Lavos.

[00:42:48] Who is he closer with?

[00:42:49] I guess Genevieve because he was having more conversations with Genevieve pre-merged then

[00:42:54] with Teenie.

[00:42:56] It seems I'm not entirely sure that we need 90 minute episodes to flesh this out properly.

[00:43:02] Well, that's the other thing is interesting is I don't even realize this until my second time

[00:43:05] watching.

[00:43:06] They didn't do the opening credits this episode, which was a sign of like, oh, they had so much

[00:43:12] to cram in here.

[00:43:13] And I think it's because the auction took up so much of it between the money hunt and all

[00:43:18] the items that they went through.

[00:43:20] So and you only give Caroline two seconds of eating the eye.

[00:43:24] Meanwhile, Austin had a full episode to himself.

[00:43:27] Austin had an outright act break where he takes a bite into a commercial break and then

[00:43:32] it came up and he was still eating the eye.

[00:43:35] Come on.

[00:43:36] Caroline is for Caroline.

[00:43:38] She seemed to enjoy it during the gross worm eating.

[00:43:41] I think that's something Jeff said.

[00:43:42] It was like Caroline seemed to enjoy it.

[00:43:44] So maybe they she wasn't giving the gross reactions that they wanted.

[00:43:48] So they just yada yada through it.

[00:43:50] They were like, you're too badass.

[00:43:51] Can you stop doing this?

[00:43:53] I mean, my favorite thing about Caroline, I don't know if it's just in this episode,

[00:43:57] but have you all noticed like Caroline being one of the best support systems you could

[00:44:02] have out there?

[00:44:03] She's like, oh, they want to go for Rachel, which I am so excited about.

[00:44:08] Good for you for doing this.

[00:44:10] Like every despite the fact that she is clearly doing stuff.

[00:44:13] She was in the pivotal swing vote position last time and she has a rather hands off approach

[00:44:17] in this episode.

[00:44:18] But every time something is brought her way, she's like, you go, girl.

[00:44:21] Absolutely do that.

[00:44:22] I would have wanted to do that myself.

[00:44:24] But you're the next best outcome.

[00:44:25] So there's there's this thing in improv where once you know the yes and but the way the

[00:44:30] yes and goes with characters is let's say I'm someone who hates everything.

[00:44:35] You could be like, oh, I love you.

[00:44:36] And I'll be like, I hate that.

[00:44:38] Or you could be like, oh, I just won the lottery and I'm giving you everything.

[00:44:41] I'll be like, that's disgusting.

[00:44:43] Caroline has this like good filter where I feel like somebody could like trip her and

[00:44:48] she'd be like, oh, that was such a good prank or like, you know, she'll eat a fish

[00:44:52] on and she'll be like, oh, my God, this is such a this is such a fun experience.

[00:44:56] Great idea.

[00:44:56] I think when she gets voted out, she's going to be like, you guys, you guys like that was

[00:45:01] so good.

[00:45:02] I'm so happy.

[00:45:03] Here's the thing.

[00:45:05] She's slotted into if I had to pick someone who's going to win, it's her at this moment

[00:45:09] in time.

[00:45:10] I think I think so.

[00:45:11] I don't know.

[00:45:12] We might not see that where we actually get to see her go.

[00:45:15] Good job, guys.

[00:45:16] I think we're going to see.

[00:45:17] Hey, thanks, guys, for giving me the money.

[00:45:19] I think it's a combination of we're seeing, again, tall poppy syndrome, the most elevated

[00:45:24] tallest characters.

[00:45:25] I mean, you know, obviously not physically, but they're the ones that are getting cut.

[00:45:29] I think that Caroline is someone who's clearly that go on girl attitude is so good.

[00:45:34] Isn't that someone that you just want to keep around?

[00:45:36] I think she's not perceived as a threat.

[00:45:38] She's got really tight alliances, especially with Sue.

[00:45:41] She's gotten a confessional every episode.

[00:45:43] I think that there's a lot of evidence that she could ultimately end up being our winner.

[00:45:47] So we shall see.

[00:45:50] Well, one person who will unfortunately not be the winner is the first member of our jury

[00:45:54] in Sierra.

[00:45:56] As we proverbially toss her portrait into the fires around us, let's talk about how we thought

[00:46:02] Sierra would do in the preseason.

[00:46:05] So, Liana, good news.

[00:46:08] Nowhere to go but up.

[00:46:09] Your winner pick is gone.

[00:46:10] Yeah.

[00:46:11] Okay.

[00:46:12] Well, let's see how far you climbed out of this hole.

[00:46:15] How did you think Sierra was going to do?

[00:46:18] Well, I think I did climb a little bit deeper.

[00:46:22] Oh, what?

[00:46:23] So I had Sierra pre-jury.

[00:46:26] Okay.

[00:46:27] I said that Sierra's positive personality should have helped her make connections, but for some

[00:46:33] reason, she didn't click with the Pirate Alliance, which I named R, which is Andy,

[00:46:39] Annika, and Rachel.

[00:46:40] Oh, I gotcha.

[00:46:42] Because they're pirates.

[00:46:44] Yes, I came up with that.

[00:46:45] I know.

[00:46:46] I know.

[00:46:46] I'm so clever.

[00:46:47] Leaving her strongest connection with Sam.

[00:46:50] When Gata loses immunity, the pirates refused to budge on Sierra, forcing Sam's hand to let

[00:46:56] his ally go.

[00:46:57] Despite her short run on the show, Sierra was a fan favorite because she got a number of

[00:47:02] fun camp life segments, including the recreation of her American Idol audition.

[00:47:07] Her ally was Sam and her enemy was Annika.

[00:47:09] A bold take having her, you know, out her cross network previous reality TV appearances.

[00:47:16] I don't know if CBS would F with that.

[00:47:18] Well, it would be.

[00:47:19] It was the generic version, right?

[00:47:20] Like, we're not saying the name of the brand.

[00:47:23] It's the generic singing show.

[00:47:26] Yeah.

[00:47:26] When I was on network singing show.

[00:47:30] Yes.

[00:47:30] With that really mean British judge.

[00:47:33] Exactly.

[00:47:35] Yeah.

[00:47:36] Well, Liana, from a positional perspective, you and I are back on the same page, hopefully

[00:47:42] like Andy and Rachel.

[00:47:44] I also had Sierra going pre-jury, albeit a bit later.

[00:47:48] I had her as our mergatory boot.

[00:47:50] So I said, Sierra calls it with her preseason prediction of being in a JT-like position on Gata.

[00:47:56] Her affability and non-threatening persona endears her to everyone on the tribe, putting her in

[00:48:01] a great position early on.

[00:48:03] Sierra makes an early connection with Sam over their shared broadcast experience.

[00:48:08] However, her true heart lies with the days and days alliance with the women, John and

[00:48:12] Andy.

[00:48:13] Unfortunately, Sierra's gullibility rears its ugly head as John is able to convince her

[00:48:18] at their first tribal council to turn on Annika, believing his half-truths about things

[00:48:22] she said about her.

[00:48:24] After seeing one of her closest allies, John, gone at the swap, Sierra attempts to pivot

[00:48:28] in the individual game.

[00:48:30] Unfortunately, Sierra just has too many coincidences to Jessica Johnston from Heroes Healers Hustlers.

[00:48:37] She's a nurse and the first boot at the merge, picked off as someone the other tribes feel

[00:48:42] as a social threat, but not well-connected enough that anyone will fall on their sword for her.

[00:48:47] In short, if you're a friend to many, you're an ally to no one.

[00:48:52] Her closest ally was John, then Sam, and her enemy was the power of friendship.

[00:49:01] That was her enemy?

[00:49:03] The power of friendship?

[00:49:04] Isn't it to all of us?

[00:49:05] Really poetic if you think about it.

[00:49:07] It's really, yeah, it's cruel.

[00:49:08] A cruel mistress, the power of friendship.

[00:49:10] That's what they say.

[00:49:13] Sorry, Kevin.

[00:49:15] This is what you have to decide between.

[00:49:19] It's taking between which grub you want to eat.

[00:49:21] Yeah, exactly.

[00:49:22] Yeah.

[00:49:22] Do you want a fish eye or do you want a grub?

[00:49:24] Those are your two options.

[00:49:26] So, Liana, you had some good stuff with the positive personality, that she was fun, that

[00:49:32] Sam was her close ally.

[00:49:35] Mike, I think you had some horrible takes and also some that were actually really, really

[00:49:42] accurate.

[00:49:44] Specifically, not the merge Tory boot, but the merge boot.

[00:49:48] JT-like position.

[00:49:49] In some ways, she was in the pre-merge.

[00:49:51] She had all the power.

[00:49:52] As in, well, JT, but anyway, she was just really well-liked by everybody.

[00:49:56] And she had an early connection with Sam.

[00:50:00] She did turn on Annika, which you had as well, Liana.

[00:50:03] But attempted to pivot, social threat, enemy is the power of friendship.

[00:50:11] I don't know what that means.

[00:50:13] But my-

[00:50:14] You know, when you have too many friends.

[00:50:17] Mike, the answer is no one would stand up for her.

[00:50:19] And Sam didn't even have a vote who was her closest ally.

[00:50:22] So, Mike, you're getting it this time.

[00:50:24] Power of friendship, baby!

[00:50:25] It comes with all!

[00:50:27] Such a simple, understandable, her enemy was the power of friendship.

[00:50:32] That made a lot of sense and that really resonated.

[00:50:35] Enemies.

[00:50:35] The power of friendship.

[00:50:36] Yeah.

[00:50:37] Yeah.

[00:50:38] Well, I've been advocating against friendship for a long time.

[00:50:41] So it does mean-

[00:50:42] Oh, yeah.

[00:50:42] I read your takes during Big Brother 18 and 19.

[00:50:44] I know, Liana.

[00:50:45] I know.

[00:50:46] Ugh.

[00:50:47] All right.

[00:50:48] Well-

[00:50:48] Big Brother 19 is underrated.

[00:50:51] Wow.

[00:50:52] Okay.

[00:50:52] Just go.

[00:50:52] Go, Kevin!

[00:50:53] At the 50-minute mark, it slips in a little Big Brother hot take.

[00:50:57] Let's move on.

[00:50:58] $60 underneath salt apple pie.

[00:51:00] This is a cashback.

[00:51:01] It doesn't change anything.

[00:51:03] That's a hot-

[00:51:03] That's actually a really hot take.

[00:51:04] Yeah, let's move on.

[00:51:05] All right.

[00:51:06] Well, let's move on.

[00:51:07] And I don't have some hot takes for you, but I do have some hot items right off the auction block.

[00:51:13] Because, look, we got the return of the Survivor auction.

[00:51:16] And I think it only proper that we go shopping, proverbially.

[00:51:20] And none of us are losing their vote.

[00:51:22] Instead, we are winning, or at least one of you will be, this game of the Price is Roark Survivor 47 edition.

[00:51:31] Yay!

[00:51:31] For those that are unaccustomed to a B&B tradition, how this is going to work, is that I have scouted out eBay and Etsy.

[00:51:40] I was searching like these contestants did and found a bunch of bamboo tubes, unlike Andy, of some nice little chestnuts of items.

[00:51:47] I'm going to present an item along with some details.

[00:51:50] And you each are going to write down how much you think this item is priced for.

[00:51:57] We will, just in honor of Angela's dear departure on Big Brother 26, we will not go with Price is Right rules.

[00:52:04] I will say the closest, no matter over or under to the number, will get the point.

[00:52:09] And hopefully, you know, holiday season is right around the corner.

[00:52:13] I started seeing some Black Friday deals.

[00:52:15] This might be an opportunity to also give people some ideas for things they want to get for the Survivor fan in their life.

[00:52:23] Well, as we know, enemy is the power of friendship, so maybe not.

[00:52:27] All right.

[00:52:27] Well, you might be able to build the power of friendship with our first item here.

[00:52:32] Oh!

[00:52:32] I think it only appropriate that since this is Survivor 47 and since Rachel found

[00:52:36] maybe one of the most minimalist idols I have seen in Survivor history, which is also very fun, right?

[00:52:41] Because it had to be one that was small enough to not seem incredibly bulky in the tarp.

[00:52:46] So it is quite literally two beads and a string.

[00:52:49] This one's a little bit more ornate.

[00:52:51] This is Survivor Season 47 Hidden Immunity Idol Prop Replica Beware Advantage

[00:52:56] Lavo, Dada, and Tuco.

[00:52:58] And I did leave in there.

[00:52:59] That is free shipping.

[00:53:00] This is from Freak Like Me with two E's on Etsy.

[00:53:05] And this is all three?

[00:53:07] This is a package of all three together.

[00:53:09] Gotcha.

[00:53:10] Yes, along with the beware advantages and all the documentation available.

[00:53:14] So, Liana, let's start with you.

[00:53:16] How much do you think this is worth?

[00:53:19] So I think the fact that free shipping is in the title means that it's more expensive than it should be

[00:53:24] because they're trying to entice you.

[00:53:26] Like, don't worry, you pay this price, but it's going to be free shipping.

[00:53:28] So I am going to go with $30.

[00:53:32] $30 from Liana.

[00:53:33] Kevin, what about you?

[00:53:34] Well, the first number I wrote down was $47.

[00:53:37] And then I thought, no, that was a subconscious thing like magicians do because I saw 47 on the screen.

[00:53:44] I'm looking at these notes and the advantages, and I moved it up to $56.

[00:53:51] $56.

[00:53:52] Well, Kevin, you do get the point, but you could have gone with that magician logic.

[00:54:00] Just a hair under $47.

[00:54:02] $46.

[00:54:04] $91 for this.

[00:54:05] And yeah, I didn't even think about the 47 timing and pricing until you brought it up.

[00:54:11] That makes a lot more sense in retrospect.

[00:54:14] They should just made up 47 then.

[00:54:15] I mean, maybe they were doing it like including tax.

[00:54:18] Maybe it's $47.

[00:54:21] But yeah, I think it'd be very cute to have it priced like that.

[00:54:23] But yeah, if you want to, I will say, I don't know.

[00:54:27] No offense to those that package these idols, either a replica or realistic version.

[00:54:32] But these are not inspiring me incredibly.

[00:54:36] No.

[00:54:37] No.

[00:54:39] Also, it just really highlights how crappy the idols look.

[00:54:44] Like, Lamos is just three beads.

[00:54:47] You should just make this.

[00:54:50] I think, yeah, exactly.

[00:54:51] Like, I think we could make these ourselves.

[00:54:53] And then the person's going to be disappointed when they get it.

[00:54:55] What?

[00:54:56] Yeah, it's like, you wonder why people get fooled so much and are able to make fake idols.

[00:55:01] This is the reason.

[00:55:02] Yeah.

[00:55:02] It's just, it's like making these sort of complicated dish.

[00:55:06] Like, once you understand the technique and you have those specific ingredients,

[00:55:10] you're able to make something pretty darn good.

[00:55:12] Lamos looks much nicer than the other two.

[00:55:14] I'm just going to throw that out there.

[00:55:15] I think it's because of like the vibrancy of the red.

[00:55:18] Maybe.

[00:55:19] Maybe.

[00:55:20] I don't know.

[00:55:20] I also like that the tuku one, which I'm imagining is the tuku one on the bottom,

[00:55:24] has like the blue fringe on it, which none of the other tribes did have.

[00:55:28] Well, I like the little coin thing also.

[00:55:32] Mm-hmm.

[00:55:32] All right.

[00:55:33] These are bad.

[00:55:35] Congratulations, Kevin.

[00:55:36] You were able to guess the amount of coin that this was worth.

[00:55:40] You were on the board with one point.

[00:55:42] Let's move into a bit of a throwback here as we go from our most recent season to one in the past.

[00:55:49] So, CBS Survivor short-sleeved t-shirt, season 13, Cook Islands.

[00:55:55] So, this is interesting.

[00:55:57] I found this on eBay.

[00:55:58] This is from Planet Gear Company.

[00:56:01] But what I find incredibly interesting is that this isn't just like a cruise shirt that has the logo for Survivor Cook Islands on it.

[00:56:07] Right?

[00:56:07] And this does say Survivor Cook Islands on the bottom.

[00:56:09] I'm not sure how official it is.

[00:56:10] But it has this illustration of a ship docked with another one in the background with a bunch of, you know, boxes and paraphernalia in front of it.

[00:56:22] And it says in a banner above it, Kia Orana, may you live on.

[00:56:26] I believe Kia Orana is a Maori phrase that basically is like a blessing, a heartfelt wish for a long and fulfilling life.

[00:56:34] I have no idea if this is from the year 2006 or someone just got inspired by their most recent watch of Survivor Cook Islands and made this independently.

[00:56:43] But it is a very interesting illustration considering what we're used to in terms of Survivor merch.

[00:56:50] I believe the Kia Orana is also the literal translation is may you live on.

[00:56:55] So, it's like, or may you live long or something like that.

[00:56:58] So, it's like, may you live on.

[00:57:00] Yeah.

[00:57:01] I'm not going to lie.

[00:57:02] This is actually kind of dope.

[00:57:02] I like this.

[00:57:04] All right.

[00:57:04] Well, it might be yours for the price of question mark.

[00:57:08] Kevin.

[00:57:08] Yeah.

[00:57:09] How much do you think it's worth?

[00:57:10] I am going to multiply season 13 by five and I am going to go with $65.

[00:57:21] $65 there.

[00:57:22] Liana, what do you have to say?

[00:57:24] I was going to say 25.

[00:57:26] All right.

[00:57:28] Liana, this time, gets the point.

[00:57:29] Yeah.

[00:57:30] 1988, which is, uh,

[00:57:32] what did the image on this shirt looks like?

[00:57:34] It's from more like 1888.

[00:57:36] Share that link with me after Mike.

[00:57:38] I got it all available for you.

[00:57:40] Uh, so yeah, only $20 to buy this.

[00:57:43] Again, I'm just mystified by this because I've never seen this image.

[00:57:47] I'm going to say it's not official merch based on the price alone.

[00:57:50] This is not official merch.

[00:57:51] This is nice.

[00:57:53] Yeah.

[00:57:54] Yeah.

[00:57:55] All right.

[00:57:55] I don't know if I want to walk around with a survivor cook.

[00:57:58] I'm sure it's very low on my list.

[00:58:02] Yeah.

[00:58:02] I don't want this.

[00:58:05] Seasons that would have worse merch to represent, but only a handful of seasons.

[00:58:09] There, I think there's one worse season.

[00:58:12] That's it.

[00:58:12] Like, I mean, you could do, you could just put a sticky note on it.

[00:58:15] It says like survivor cook islands minus episodes one and two.

[00:58:17] Like after that, I was a full throated supporter of it, but maybe not the first two episodes.

[00:58:22] Yeah.

[00:58:23] All right.

[00:58:24] Moving on our next item.

[00:58:27] Survivor fan greeting card.

[00:58:29] This is from pension paper co on Etsy and it reads, I'm by the way, go to bit.ly slash

[00:58:36] prices.

[00:58:37] Rourke 47.

[00:58:38] If you want to take a look at these, I realize I should have mentioned that at the top, but

[00:58:41] better late than never.

[00:58:42] The card reads.

[00:58:44] I love that we can watch old seasons of survivor together and judge the contestants

[00:58:48] gameplay as if the episodes didn't air like 16 years ago.

[00:58:54] Interesting argument, Liana, that I don't know.

[00:58:57] Are they advocating for like it happened years ago?

[00:59:00] You can't you can't say and argue against anything that anyone did.

[00:59:04] It was a different time.

[00:59:06] Yeah, they're really it's like, OK, if you go to Cook Islands, for example, and you're

[00:59:11] debating the choices that were made, we can have that discussion now.

[00:59:15] Like it didn't just air however many years ago.

[00:59:18] So, you know, it's like a survivor.

[00:59:19] It's always of a time, right?

[00:59:23] It's it's we can always discuss it.

[00:59:25] I also love the fact that Jeff Probst has no face on this greeting card.

[00:59:30] This is the A.I.

[00:59:33] It's like it got erased or maybe he's wearing a face mask that covers his whole face.

[00:59:37] I don't know.

[00:59:38] I can't tell.

[00:59:39] Look, I get it.

[00:59:39] Drawing faces is hard.

[00:59:41] It's cute.

[00:59:42] I also like the Nixon thing.

[00:59:45] I am not a crook with his fingers.

[00:59:47] We're getting a lot out of this.

[00:59:49] What I'm intrigued by, Kevin, is the fact that like, yes, the greeting card industry is

[00:59:54] one where it can just pop out a bunch of different phrases that don't apply to every

[00:59:58] scenario.

[00:59:59] I really can't think of a single time that I would use this card whatsoever.

[01:00:04] This is very specific to two people who specifically watch old seasons of Survivor together and

[01:00:13] judge their gameplay as if it did not happen.

[01:00:17] 16 years.

[01:00:18] It's also what season was 16 years ago.

[01:00:21] This would be 2008.

[01:00:22] So this would be sort of on the back of like Micronesia and Gabon.

[01:00:26] Hmm.

[01:00:27] Hmm.

[01:00:28] Yeah.

[01:00:28] You know, you're just sitting, you're just sitting with, with, with the boys on the couch

[01:00:32] judging, judging Gabon, you know, it's hard over to you.

[01:00:36] Like, let's not do this.

[01:00:39] Well, here's the thing, though.

[01:00:41] Maybe this actually does make more sense because Survivor is sort of in its, you know, this

[01:00:46] rediscovery period where people are going back and rewatching old episodes.

[01:00:50] So who knows?

[01:00:51] Maybe this is a bestseller.

[01:00:53] All right.

[01:00:53] Well, Liana, let's see how much of a bestseller this is for you.

[01:00:57] How much do you think this sells for?

[01:00:59] I'm going to say.

[01:01:02] Seven dollars, seven dollars.

[01:01:05] Kevin, what's your guess?

[01:01:06] Yeah.

[01:01:07] So.

[01:01:08] The way I wrote down, my guess was 16 divided by two times one and a half is twelve dollars.

[01:01:19] Kevin going for the twelve dollar grading card like something.

[01:01:23] Something out of the paper store or something.

[01:01:26] Unfortunately, I didn't get you a lot of paper in the wind here.

[01:01:29] Six dollars for the most niche grading card I've ever experienced in my life.

[01:01:35] My I live.

[01:01:35] I live in a city like it's expensive here.

[01:01:40] I am astounded by that.

[01:01:42] That's an amazing deal.

[01:01:43] Yeah.

[01:01:44] Oh, for that person in your life where you watch specifically Micronesia and Gabon with them,

[01:01:51] though, I guess in a couple of months, I guess you could also throw what token sheens and Samoa into that as well.

[01:01:57] It's only a meager six dollars for you to purchase the screening card.

[01:02:02] This is written and designed by Eric Reichenbach.

[01:02:04] This was this is his his love.

[01:02:07] It's got Dabu doodles all over it.

[01:02:08] Yeah.

[01:02:09] Mm hmm.

[01:02:10] All right.

[01:02:10] Next up.

[01:02:11] Well, listen, we got some paper.

[01:02:14] Let's talk about something that could serve as kindling for a flame.

[01:02:20] Jeff.

[01:02:23] Prayer candle.

[01:02:25] If you're in a time of need, say, Lord, I mean, Jeff, your own Russell Swan.

[01:02:30] You can purchase the St.

[01:02:31] Prayer candle available in three cents from Radical Sabbatical Company on Etsy.

[01:02:39] If it helps, you can choose between they all cost the same, but Comfort Spice, Sea Breeze and Vanilla Bean,

[01:02:47] which is my personal nickname for Jeff Probst.

[01:02:49] Kevin, give me your thoughts here on the candle and how much you think it's worth.

[01:02:53] You know, you walk into a candle shop, you breathe in.

[01:02:58] It's probably not something unless you're a candle connoisseur that you really woke up going after that day.

[01:03:05] I think this is the kind of thing that you see on the shelf you buy.

[01:03:08] So that's going to tell me that it's under twenty dollars.

[01:03:11] But this is in three cents.

[01:03:13] Very beautiful.

[01:03:14] I'm going to say nineteen dollars and ninety nine cents.

[01:03:17] All right.

[01:03:18] Nineteen ninety nine.

[01:03:20] Liana, what about you?

[01:03:23] I think it's over, but I'm debating dicking Kevin and saying twenty dollars exactly.

[01:03:29] Or was there not a write down our guests rule?

[01:03:32] Was there not a rule to write down our guesses?

[01:03:34] Because if you want to open this thoroughly on it, open this door.

[01:03:37] Open this.

[01:03:38] Do it.

[01:03:39] OK, do it.

[01:03:39] If you dare.

[01:03:40] OK, fine.

[01:03:40] I said I said thirty thirty thirty dollars.

[01:03:44] We've got a and this time the luxury wins here.

[01:03:49] Thirty six dollars for the Jeff Probst Saint Prayer Candle, which is interesting, considering that with no offense to the seller.

[01:03:58] Pretty bad Photoshop job.

[01:04:01] Yeah.

[01:04:01] Jeff looks like he has the thickest neck imaginable to support being fitted onto the Saints body.

[01:04:07] Jeff Probst.

[01:04:09] Yeah, exactly.

[01:04:10] Look at his little hand, his little hand and his big ass neck.

[01:04:14] His his hand is like the entire it's oh, my gosh, it's so funny.

[01:04:18] Also, I can't decide if I think this is sacrilegious or not, but I love it regardless.

[01:04:22] The other thing, too, is like the the tribal council or the the torch is also a little it's a little wonky.

[01:04:30] So I don't know what was happening there.

[01:04:32] They tried to make his neck even thicker.

[01:04:34] They are like photoshopping it and ended up expanding out the side of the torch.

[01:04:38] I don't honestly my note to radical sabbatical company.

[01:04:40] Make it all neck.

[01:04:41] Just have it be the weight of the entire candle.

[01:04:44] Yeah, the full circumference.

[01:04:47] Yeah, that's what we love.

[01:04:49] Is this a real candle or is this like a electronic candle?

[01:04:52] No, it's a looks like a real candle.

[01:04:54] OK, OK.

[01:04:54] Does it look like a real candle?

[01:04:56] Well, I think the little flamey thing at the top looked fake.

[01:05:00] Detroit is also be photoshopped.

[01:05:03] Yeah, let's see.

[01:05:03] It looks like.

[01:05:05] Nope.

[01:05:05] For best results, burn candle three to four hours of each lighting.

[01:05:08] So it looks like there are instructions that you can.

[01:05:09] And it is made of wax.

[01:05:11] So all right.

[01:05:12] Just like Jeff's neck.

[01:05:13] All right.

[01:05:14] Well, starting to become less neck and neck right now as Liana is ahead of Kevin three to

[01:05:20] one.

[01:05:20] But there's still plenty more great stuff to check out, including our next item.

[01:05:25] If you want to dress like St.

[01:05:28] Jeff Probst, do I have the item for you?

[01:05:31] This is on eBay, courtesy of Dazzleum 2.

[01:05:34] New but vintage CBS Survivor hat, like the one Jeff Probst wore in early seasons.

[01:05:40] This is verbatim the title of the listing.

[01:05:44] Liana, give me your thoughts about the bold choice to use wicker in a Survivor hat.

[01:05:49] I don't think I've ever seen.

[01:05:52] Did you?

[01:05:53] Am I?

[01:05:53] I mean, you're the historian, Mike.

[01:05:55] Did Jeff ever wear a wicker hat on Survivor?

[01:05:59] I would imagine maybe once or twice.

[01:06:02] But it just seems like now, granted, we've seen people in the past like wear wicker hats

[01:06:06] or baskets on their heads to try to keep out the sun.

[01:06:08] But it feels like from a rain perspective, it seems like an untenable material to use.

[01:06:13] Uh-huh.

[01:06:14] Well, I mean, and it's also mesh in the back, right?

[01:06:16] Like, this is a baseball cap.

[01:06:18] My favorite hairstyle, wicker in the front, mesh in the back.

[01:06:22] We all love it.

[01:06:23] And you know what they say, I love my hats as I love my furniture.

[01:06:26] So I wrote down-

[01:06:28] Easily broken by Donnie Fairplay.

[01:06:29] Yeah, I wrote down $35.

[01:06:32] $35.

[01:06:33] Kevin, give me your thoughts on this beautiful piece of headwear and your guess for a price.

[01:06:37] This could be AI.

[01:06:39] This is one of the weirdest, ugliest hats I've ever seen.

[01:06:43] I just, it doesn't do it for me.

[01:06:45] It's almost so bad that I would want it.

[01:06:48] Like, it's just so interesting to look at.

[01:06:52] The design choices of what I believe is the original Survivor logo with the wicker

[01:06:59] and then the mesh, which is usually like a trucker hat.

[01:07:03] I don't know what's going on.

[01:07:04] I wrote down $14 and I have no reason.

[01:07:07] Okay, so we have $14 versus, what was your price again, Leona?

[01:07:10] $35.

[01:07:11] $35.

[01:07:13] I believe by a nose, Kevin is going to get it.

[01:07:19] But it was very tight because it was $24.99 for the hat.

[01:07:23] Which honestly, like, I paid like $40 in the past for hats.

[01:07:26] This is pretty-

[01:07:27] I mean, I guess you get what you pay for.

[01:07:29] And so I don't know if I want to wear a fourth of a basket on my head.

[01:07:32] Wait, Kevin said $14.

[01:07:34] Right, which would be what?

[01:07:35] Oh, $10.99.

[01:07:36] Do you get it, Leona?

[01:07:37] Because you were-

[01:07:38] You were one-

[01:07:40] Yeah, exactly.

[01:07:41] By a difference of what?

[01:07:42] Two pennies.

[01:07:43] Yeah.

[01:07:44] Oh my God.

[01:07:45] Wow.

[01:07:45] All right.

[01:07:46] Thank you for correcting my math on that.

[01:07:47] Your numbers personally on a through and through.

[01:07:50] I know.

[01:07:51] Screw letters.

[01:07:51] I'm getting dominated.

[01:07:53] It's all right.

[01:07:54] Listen, there's still plenty of time here.

[01:07:56] There's still plenty of time.

[01:07:58] Like Andy looking for money.

[01:08:01] Well, maybe you're doing it on purpose.

[01:08:02] You have your glasses on.

[01:08:03] That's the first step towards improvement.

[01:08:05] Well, of course, one of the biggest items of Survivor merch that exists out there, especially

[01:08:11] on eBay, are the buffs.

[01:08:14] And so I figured let's check in on a classic here.

[01:08:18] The Ometepe buff from Survivor Redemption Island.

[01:08:21] Don't worry, it does have active order control, as the tag says.

[01:08:25] But this is, you know, fresh out of in pretty mint condition from eBay.

[01:08:31] Still has the little stand and everything.

[01:08:33] This is from KAGR1574 on eBay.

[01:08:39] So let's go with whose turn is it?

[01:08:41] Kevin at this point.

[01:08:43] How much do you think this buff is worth?

[01:08:46] Again, not sold officially by the buff company.

[01:08:48] This is sold by a fan on eBay.

[01:08:50] Yeah.

[01:08:51] So I buy a buff probably once every three or four seasons.

[01:08:55] And I feel like usually new, we're in like the 30-ish USD range, something like that.

[01:09:05] I know that buff collectors are a thing.

[01:09:08] So these get popular.

[01:09:11] So, I mean, I wrote down 43, but I feel like it's low.

[01:09:20] I'm going to stick with that.

[01:09:22] All right.

[01:09:22] Because it's Redemption Island.

[01:09:23] Who wants Redemption Island?

[01:09:25] Okay, Kevin.

[01:09:27] We were on the exact same page.

[01:09:29] I wrote down 44.

[01:09:30] That's okay with me.

[01:09:32] Well.

[01:09:33] I respect it.

[01:09:33] Yeah.

[01:09:35] So, Liana, I would say you would edge this out, but it's not really edging out because

[01:09:42] you were both exorbitantly underballing this.

[01:09:46] What?

[01:09:49] $350.

[01:09:52] So more than some of these people at the auction spent on these items, when they were

[01:09:56] purposely trying to spend as much money as possible.

[01:09:59] No way.

[01:10:00] And is that like the going rate if you're betting on a sort of rare buff?

[01:10:06] So it depends.

[01:10:07] Like, for example, one that I was thinking about throwing in here, if it wasn't this,

[01:10:09] was the unused green merge buff from Palau that went for, I think, $249 on eBay.

[01:10:16] So, I mean, it really depends.

[01:10:19] For me, from my experience, you know, getting to research these for these games over the

[01:10:22] years, it really comes down to like, sometimes it comes down to season popularity.

[01:10:26] Sometimes it just comes down to like, almost the opposite effect of like, well, you know,

[01:10:30] there's no demand for Ometepe buff.

[01:10:34] So I'm one of the only people to hold on to it.

[01:10:36] So for you completionists and collectionists out there, you're going to have to pay an

[01:10:40] arm and a leg to get it.

[01:10:41] Super interesting.

[01:10:42] Oh my gosh.

[01:10:44] All right.

[01:10:45] Let's move on here.

[01:10:47] Let me just make sure I got the right item.

[01:10:49] Okay.

[01:10:50] Next up, something you can wear around your head to something you could wear around your

[01:10:56] wrist.

[01:10:57] So the Cook Island t-shirt was not the only throwback here.

[01:11:00] CBS Survivor TV show bracelets, colored rubber silicone, stretch wristband probes.

[01:11:07] I don't know why they threw probes in there at the end, but basically these are like Survivor

[01:11:13] Livestrong bracelets.

[01:11:14] So these are green, blue, red, and orange silicone bracelets that have the logo on it, have your

[01:11:23] images of like a torch and a tiki and the logo for the show on it, as well as just the

[01:11:27] word Survivor written out.

[01:11:30] So Liana, 2000s nostalgia is in nowadays.

[01:11:33] Does that affect the price point of the listing that I got from what I get?

[01:11:38] S.

[01:11:39] I like 504 on eBay.

[01:11:42] Well, I like the idea of including probes, like it's going to help the SEO.

[01:11:45] I don't go love probes.

[01:11:47] They love it.

[01:11:48] They love it.

[01:11:49] I did write down $20.

[01:11:51] I have no concept.

[01:11:53] This could be $5.

[01:11:53] This could be $1,000.

[01:11:55] I have no idea.

[01:11:57] All right.

[01:11:57] $20 for Liana.

[01:11:58] Kevin, what say you?

[01:11:59] Liana, I too am in a mental pretzel.

[01:12:01] It's after that $350.

[01:12:03] $50.

[01:12:04] Oh, my Tepe buff.

[01:12:06] But so if I were Mike and I was the snow.

[01:12:12] Yeah, get him.

[01:12:12] Get in my head.

[01:12:14] I would think, okay, that was an expensive one.

[01:12:17] Let me do a cheaper one.

[01:12:20] But that's what the people would be thinking.

[01:12:22] So I'm going to do one that's a little bit more expensive.

[01:12:24] So for that reason, I wrote down $70.

[01:12:29] Oh, man.

[01:12:31] Well, much like Vizzini in The Princess Bride, you out thought yourself, Kevin.

[01:12:37] $10 for the Livestrong Bracelets.

[01:12:41] They're so cool, though.

[01:12:43] Exactly.

[01:12:44] They should raise the price.

[01:12:45] Kevin would pay $70.

[01:12:46] These are nice.

[01:12:48] What about what about the what are these called?

[01:12:51] What are these bands called again?

[01:12:53] Like the Livestrong Bracelets, remember?

[01:12:55] What about the Livestrong Completionists?

[01:12:58] Yeah, exactly.

[01:12:59] I mean, I am.

[01:13:00] I was trying to remember and I maybe have Mandela affected myself, but I'm fairly sure

[01:13:04] at least one person wore a Livestrong Bracelet on the show.

[01:13:08] For sure.

[01:13:09] I would believe it.

[01:13:11] All right.

[01:13:12] Well, moving on to our next item here.

[01:13:16] I would say that people who love Omotepe buffs, the Algo,

[01:13:22] you don't have to put props in the title, might be suggesting this item to them after

[01:13:26] their purchase.

[01:13:27] The book.

[01:13:28] You're throwing up the book.

[01:13:29] A Boston Rob Magnet.

[01:13:33] This is a magnet for your fridge or any metallic item of your choice.

[01:13:38] That is just an illustration of the head of one Robert Mariano.

[01:13:44] Not unlike the one that was made out of wood on the Island of the Idols.

[01:13:51] He's staring into my soul.

[01:13:53] Look at his lips.

[01:13:55] Yeah, they are pretty plump.

[01:13:56] Nice stash.

[01:13:59] Okay.

[01:14:00] How?

[01:14:01] Oh, okay.

[01:14:01] Yeah.

[01:14:01] I'm glad we have the finger for scale.

[01:14:03] So I was going to say, yeah.

[01:14:04] I mean, if you want exact dimensions, I can give it to you.

[01:14:07] This is from pretty good cards on Etsy.

[01:14:11] So, Kevin, give me your thoughts here.

[01:14:14] Language of origin.

[01:14:16] Yes.

[01:14:16] I believe it's Maori.

[01:14:19] Boston Rob is actually Maori for the Rob that doesn't suck.

[01:14:23] Can you use it in a sentence?

[01:14:25] Sure.

[01:14:26] Why would anyone buy a Boston Rob Magnet?

[01:14:30] Boston Rob Magnet.

[01:14:34] $16.83.

[01:14:36] Boston Rob Magnet.

[01:14:37] $16.83.

[01:14:39] All right, Liana, what say you?

[01:14:42] Oh my gosh.

[01:14:44] All I want to do now is buy a bunch of these and hide them all around the house.

[01:14:47] But I am going to go.

[01:14:49] That's my favorite type of Easter tradition.

[01:14:51] Exactly.

[01:14:52] Yeah.

[01:14:53] Instead of eggs, we're hunting for little Boston Robs.

[01:14:56] Okay.

[01:14:57] So I'm hoping it's cheaper than Kevin's and I'm hoping that's cheaper than mine also.

[01:15:02] So I can buy a bunch and hide them around the house.

[01:15:04] I said $10.

[01:15:06] Okay.

[01:15:07] Well, Kevin.

[01:15:09] Fortunately, you are repelling these wins like a magnet.

[01:15:12] It is $5.

[01:15:14] It's cheaper than the greeting card.

[01:15:16] It is.

[01:15:17] Oh, since I was using as a metric, I was like, well, magnets have to be more expensive than paper.

[01:15:22] Yes.

[01:15:23] Yes.

[01:15:23] But the paper is a universal language of, hey, let's we watch Survivor from a decade and a half ago and unfairly criticize the players.

[01:15:32] Boston Rob is a much more unique thing that you want to put on your fridge.

[01:15:37] Like just his little head.

[01:15:38] I mean, I think it would be interesting if you're looking for some sort of motivator of like the thing that would probably most disincentivize me from late night snacking and opening up the fridge would be staring at Boston Rob at eye level.

[01:15:51] Yeah.

[01:15:51] I think they need to make a bigger one for that, like a full like a proportionally sized Boston Rob face magnet.

[01:16:00] Next size probes can.

[01:16:02] Yes.

[01:16:02] The Boston Rob magnet.

[01:16:04] Yeah.

[01:16:04] There we go.

[01:16:05] All right.

[01:16:06] Well, in case you haven't figured this out, we are now moving into the weird phase of this game for our final view here.

[01:16:15] So you could certainly look into the eyes of Boston Rob using this magnet or you could stare into the eyes of a lot of the prominent men of Survivor history with our next item.

[01:16:28] Hotties of Survivor mug.

[01:16:31] So let me paint a picture here for those that are just listening.

[01:16:35] So this is a mug that is festooned with attempts at illustrating some of the biggest faces in a Survivor history.

[01:16:46] From left to right here, we have Ozzy.

[01:16:49] Actually, yeah, Ozzy here saying, I believe it's I'm having feelings I've never really felt before,

[01:16:56] which I believe was his final tribal council speech to Amanda in Micronesia.

[01:17:02] We have Joe saying my family is the most important thing in my life.

[01:17:07] We have the aforementioned JT.

[01:17:11] I believe that JT is saying something like, I don't know why everyone trusts me so much.

[01:17:17] And maybe the accent we have.

[01:17:19] We have I think it's Wu saying I'm looking fine, bro.

[01:17:25] And then on the top we have Ken McNichol, I believe from Millennials versus.

[01:17:30] Oh, who I believe in this picture has some form of Bell's palsy because his mouth is just a little deformed.

[01:17:39] And he is saying they think of me as the pretty boy, but I have the strength to make it far in this game.

[01:17:46] And then finally, I think it's Malcolm.

[01:17:51] That's Malcolm.

[01:17:51] That's I think it's Malcolm.

[01:17:53] The shirt gives it away that it's Malcolm, though.

[01:17:54] I also love the fact that they just like used graphing paper like generic grid lines to make a shirt that does not go with the angle whatsoever.

[01:18:01] But Malcolm is saying this isn't just some quickie alliance.

[01:18:04] Wham, bam.

[01:18:05] Thank you, ma'am.

[01:18:06] Of course, that famous quote from Malcolm.

[01:18:10] So, Kevin.

[01:18:12] Yeah.

[01:18:12] How much do you think people would pay to pour a nice old cup of hot coffee into these hotties?

[01:18:18] Everybody's been underestimating me.

[01:18:20] So I'm going to have my Andy moment.

[01:18:23] I'm going to take a look.

[01:18:27] Oh, I think some people would pay a lot of money for this.

[01:18:33] I think there are some people who would pay a lot of money for this.

[01:18:36] And if I'm thinking what's a regular mug?

[01:18:38] Well, based on the prices here, which do not line up with my conversion to Canadian or my life in Toronto, I'm going to say that a regular mug would be under $10.

[01:18:48] Let's call it eight based on these prices.

[01:18:50] Now let's elevate it.

[01:18:52] Someone is, you know, paying for some of these people's extra content.

[01:18:57] Some of these people are following them around everywhere.

[01:19:00] I'm going to say I'm writing down $13.

[01:19:08] Lucky number 13.

[01:19:11] Liana, give me your thoughts about this as you surreptitiously move it into your cart on Etsy.

[01:19:19] I mean, yeah, obviously I'm going to buy this.

[01:19:23] The first thing I noticed also, though, is that I believe Boston Rob is also on here because I see the you take care of her.

[01:19:31] I'll take care of you.

[01:19:32] That's from All Stars, right?

[01:19:35] From what I'm seeing, I'm trying to get like a full from all the illustrations I'm seeing.

[01:19:41] I don't believe Boston Rob is on here.

[01:19:43] But who's this bad angles under hotties of survival?

[01:19:48] Oh, yeah.

[01:19:49] It doesn't correspond to Wu's quote on the other side.

[01:19:52] So I think there's a tiny little Boston Rob there.

[01:19:54] Yeah, I just don't.

[01:19:55] He's not in any sort of depictions from a good mood mugs and more of him on here.

[01:20:01] Maybe he has the extra surprise.

[01:20:02] He might just be like the hit in Boston Rob, right?

[01:20:05] Like the fringe benefit.

[01:20:07] Oh, you get a nice little Boston Rob.

[01:20:08] Oh, you know what?

[01:20:08] I do see him now.

[01:20:09] You're right.

[01:20:09] You take care of her.

[01:20:10] I take care of you.

[01:20:11] Yeah, exactly.

[01:20:12] Now, I wouldn't buy this for Boston Rob.

[01:20:14] I'd buy it for deformed Ken McNichol.

[01:20:16] But that being said, I did write down $25.

[01:20:21] $25.

[01:20:22] I feel really good about this.

[01:20:24] I feel really good about this.

[01:20:26] I'm hoping it's $13.

[01:20:27] I'd rather pay $13 for this.

[01:20:28] Kevin, you're feeling good about this.

[01:20:29] Yes.

[01:20:30] Yeah.

[01:20:30] And you should.

[01:20:31] Hey, yes.

[01:20:32] Oh, my God.

[01:20:33] Here's a win.

[01:20:34] Okay, obviously, I'm buying this immediately.

[01:20:36] Please send me the link.

[01:20:37] Yeah, and absolutely.

[01:20:38] And I will say maybe one reason to incentivize you to get it.

[01:20:41] I did take a look at the Boston Rob illustration they used.

[01:20:44] And quite fun.

[01:20:47] It's quite fun.

[01:20:47] It's no magnet.

[01:20:48] I will give it that.

[01:20:50] Now, look, we'd love to play some fun and games here on the BNB.

[01:20:55] But who's to say you all can't do that as well during the other six days?

[01:21:01] We're not talking Survivor.

[01:21:04] Survivor Party Game.

[01:21:06] So, this is a group of games from It's Game Night on Etsy.

[01:21:13] These are eight games that you can play in person with people during, I don't know, a bar mitzvah, a retirement party, a funeral.

[01:21:23] Whatever the occasion might be, the Survivor Party Pack.

[01:21:27] All the best funerals.

[01:21:28] Yeah, it has something.

[01:21:29] Survivor Party Pack.

[01:21:30] It has something in store for you.

[01:21:32] And I can answer some questions about it.

[01:21:35] I will get into much more detail about this after I reveal the price.

[01:21:40] But I'm happy to open the floor to anything you all might have to ask for any qualifiers about buying this.

[01:21:45] Language of origin?

[01:21:47] It's debatable, depending on.

[01:21:49] I'll get into it.

[01:21:52] Oh, no.

[01:21:53] That was a joke question.

[01:21:57] Out wit, out play Survivor?

[01:22:01] Out breakfast?

[01:22:02] Out breakfast?

[01:22:03] Where's the out snack?

[01:22:05] Where's the last part?

[01:22:07] I mean, maybe it was like copyright infringement that they just took out last.

[01:22:10] I mean, out play is the more game specific part of it.

[01:22:14] So, maybe they felt like out last just didn't make sense for the pretense of this.

[01:22:19] Out play out game or something.

[01:22:21] Out party.

[01:22:21] Okay, anyway, whatever.

[01:22:23] So, okay, I assume are you not going to tell us what the eight games in one are?

[01:22:26] I can tell you what the eight games are.

[01:22:28] Okay.

[01:22:29] I mean, I'll get into more detail about them next time.

[01:22:33] But the games that you have available are Survivor Charades, Survivor Challenge, Memory Cube, Survivor Timeline, Survivor Trivia, Secret Puzzle, Survivor Auction, and Shape Puzzler.

[01:22:51] What?

[01:22:56] That's all very clear to me now.

[01:22:58] Do we all not know Shape Puzzler?

[01:23:01] Shape Puzzle?

[01:23:01] Oh, the classic game Shape Puzzler.

[01:23:04] Shape Puzzler.

[01:23:05] It's the one where you are standing on a platform and you have to like move your body to fit through a body shaped hole.

[01:23:14] Yeah, exactly.

[01:23:14] That classic Survivor Challenge.

[01:23:16] Yes, I remember that one.

[01:23:18] All right.

[01:23:19] What?

[01:23:21] What?

[01:23:21] It's Kevin.

[01:23:22] Is this like $1,000?

[01:23:24] I mean, it's your guess, Liana.

[01:23:27] So give me your logic here.

[01:23:29] I won't say much more after that.

[01:23:32] We can get into, again, a lot more of the details once I actually reveal the price.

[01:23:36] Talk me through your logic.

[01:23:38] Okay.

[01:23:38] So a few things stand out to me.

[01:23:40] One, the image is a graphic, not a physical item.

[01:23:44] Okay?

[01:23:44] That's the first thing I'm noting.

[01:23:46] I'm not actually seeing the product.

[01:23:48] Okay?

[01:23:49] So then I'm curious, especially given the shapey movie party game, that's going to be like a big thing, right?

[01:23:58] To move through a shape?

[01:24:01] Right?

[01:24:02] Okay.

[01:24:03] Whatever.

[01:24:04] You're not helping.

[01:24:05] So anyway, so based on that, I think that this is quite expensive.

[01:24:08] I'm not going to say $1,000, but I am going to say $500.

[01:24:13] $500 for the Survivor Party game.

[01:24:15] Kevin, what'd you guess?

[01:24:17] Yeah, I'll tell you what I wrote down.

[01:24:19] So I actually, I went to grad school for the social science of artificial intelligence.

[01:24:27] And one of the courses I took, which naturally fell into that, was the user experience design of board games.

[01:24:34] It was an elective.

[01:24:35] And I did some research into board games and the production of them.

[01:24:41] I'm a pretty low margin business.

[01:24:44] It's like fairly hard to make money unless you're in one of the top few board games.

[01:24:48] Like there's so many board games out there.

[01:24:49] It's not even that hard to get published.

[01:24:51] But so I've looked around and.

[01:24:54] I think over $100.

[01:24:57] It's pretty rare for people who aren't really, really involved to get it.

[01:25:00] That said, some people love Survivor so much.

[01:25:03] I wrote down $59.99.

[01:25:05] Okay, so we have $59 versus $500.

[01:25:12] And somehow you both still got over here.

[01:25:15] It is $15.03.

[01:25:18] That is because it is a largely digital thing where it's all the stuff is given to you.

[01:25:26] Whoa!

[01:25:27] Wow.

[01:25:27] And you better believe I bought it.

[01:25:29] And so I will answer.

[01:25:31] Are you going to play it?

[01:25:31] Any and all questions you have.

[01:25:32] Well, let me read the concepts of what these games are to you.

[01:25:35] And you can make a judgment call based on that.

[01:25:38] Yeah, Liana, I wasn't serious about the shape puzzler.

[01:25:41] Oh.

[01:25:42] Though I get it, though.

[01:25:43] Because it's a very confusing thing.

[01:25:46] I do.

[01:25:46] I've been completely facetious.

[01:25:48] That's so mean.

[01:25:49] Survivor charades.

[01:25:50] Players will grab a word from a hat or a bowl and act out the word without using words.

[01:25:55] You have one minute to make a correct guess.

[01:25:57] I got given a list of charades words that includes things like fire.

[01:26:03] That includes survivor terms like blindside.

[01:26:07] That includes, you know, terms that we associate with the show we love, like bird watching.

[01:26:11] That was part of survivor charades as well.

[01:26:15] Let's move on here to the incredibly.

[01:26:18] No, no, no.

[01:26:19] Hold on one sec.

[01:26:19] So you got a list of words that you have to print and cut up and stick in a bag.

[01:26:23] Oh, OK.

[01:26:25] Don't you wait.

[01:26:25] There's a lot of DIY elements that are behind this.

[01:26:28] Let's go to the very specifically named survivor challenge, where in survivor challenge,

[01:26:34] you are given a set of challenges to do on a team.

[01:26:38] And then basically, like whoever comes in last in that challenge is automatically eliminated,

[01:26:42] or you can play in two teams.

[01:26:44] And like the team that loses has to vote each other out.

[01:26:46] Sort of like you ever played flip cup like that back in the days.

[01:26:50] And there are some pretty tough challenges here.

[01:26:53] We have throw up spoon and catch it by the handle.

[01:26:58] Oh, throw in the air.

[01:27:01] We have flip a roll of toilet paper and land it on your finger.

[01:27:08] I love that survivor challenge.

[01:27:09] That one's my favorite.

[01:27:11] Yeah, that's the best.

[01:27:12] Everyone stares at each other.

[01:27:14] First person to laugh loses.

[01:27:18] And I think maybe I think transfer cookie from forehead to mouth without using hands.

[01:27:28] That's a classic.

[01:27:28] And I think my personal favorite.

[01:27:31] Right alphabet.

[01:27:38] The Dr. Sean echo heard around the world.

[01:27:41] Oh, I need them to do that.

[01:27:45] Everyone stand in a circle.

[01:27:46] First one to laugh gets eliminated.

[01:27:48] I need that.

[01:27:49] To be fair, we have had survivor challenges in the past that literally were pick out the same colored rock as your loved ones.

[01:27:55] So like we cannot bulk at this point.

[01:27:58] That's fair.

[01:27:58] So memory cube was the one where it's the one where everyone is like, you know, Jeff has a cube and he's showing a sequence of symbols and you have to replicate it.

[01:28:09] But it does involve cutting out your own memory cube of ornate symbols for you to follow along with.

[01:28:15] Survivor timeline.

[01:28:16] This is an interesting one.

[01:28:18] And maybe this is where I don't know necessarily if English was the first language made by the creators of this, because the description of this was cancel answer a set of questions using survivor locals based on each season.

[01:28:32] Teams will then have to the logos in the correct order in order to correctly answer the question.

[01:28:37] Yeah.

[01:28:37] Country game vote out first land on the back of that past.

[01:28:41] Exactly.

[01:28:42] What was that TV lamp man dog that cognitive test?

[01:28:47] Yeah.

[01:28:47] So the timeline questions are things along the lines of like put in order the seasons that have a hidden immunity idol in them or like the seasons that Boston Rob participated in.

[01:28:58] So you get given cutouts of the logos of this should also be noted as well.

[01:29:03] This only goes up to 39 seasons.

[01:29:05] So it hasn't necessarily been the most updated.

[01:29:09] It's back in 2019 at this point.

[01:29:12] Gotcha.

[01:29:14] So to that point, survivor trivia.

[01:29:17] Yeah.

[01:29:17] So survivor trivia.

[01:29:18] This is actually it's very fun.

[01:29:20] There's a video version where a question pops up on the screen and you have to answer the question.

[01:29:26] Some of these questions being along the lines of where do jury contestants go between each tribal councils?

[01:29:33] Oh, OK.

[01:29:34] So Ponderosa.

[01:29:35] Mm hmm.

[01:29:36] Each tribal councils.

[01:29:38] Is that a trick question?

[01:29:39] Because it's it's plural.

[01:29:41] Each tribal councils.

[01:29:43] Which survivor contestant famously wore a black hat and was known for his strategic gameplay in multiple seasons?

[01:29:52] What?

[01:29:53] I mean, I guess dark blue kind of looks black depending on how you look at it.

[01:30:00] It like is what?

[01:30:03] So what's the answer?

[01:30:05] I believe it's Boston Rob.

[01:30:07] It's supposed to be Boston Rob.

[01:30:08] Oh, it's not.

[01:30:09] It's not Russell's.

[01:30:11] Russell?

[01:30:12] Oh, that could be the case as well.

[01:30:14] I'm sorry.

[01:30:14] I was distracted by what phrase does Jeff Probst use to ultimately describe the ultimate goal of the game?

[01:30:22] Win.

[01:30:23] Win.

[01:30:23] Win.

[01:30:24] Win.

[01:30:24] Win.

[01:30:24] Win.

[01:30:24] Win.

[01:30:26] Win.

[01:30:36] Win.

[01:30:39] Win.

[01:30:41] Win.

[01:30:46] Win.

[01:30:48] Win.

[01:30:55] Win.

[01:30:56] let's go through the other games here secret puzzle so uh oh sorry this is secret challenge

[01:31:02] as in the instructions teams muscle arrange a six-sided multi-colored cubes that all sides are

[01:31:08] the same first team to complete puzzle earns five points so i think this is like the match uh a

[01:31:13] series of cubes that it's you know no colors repeat on the same side or all colors are on the same

[01:31:17] side this is a very fun one survivor auction there's a little meta given this week each player

[01:31:25] will receive an equal amount of money the host will grab items slash paper from a hat or a bowl

[01:31:31] and place it hidden once that happens the auction will commence and players will bid on the items

[01:31:37] wait so let's just gather things from around the house and put them up for auction using fake money

[01:31:44] if it's not your house can you just like grab someone's valuables like the host you know yeah

[01:31:50] exactly they're wearing their jewelry their tv yeah like i'm putting the tv up for auction

[01:31:55] next up uh julius's child for auction here who wants to do that with their fake survivor money

[01:32:01] yeah this is wild because this has nothing to do with survivor whatsoever this is just grab

[01:32:07] things around you and sell them to other people leona did you say a thousand dollars

[01:32:13] said 500 okay but in my head i was like if they're mailing you this big bottle like it could

[01:32:19] be like all these things that's why we didn't actually see it finally the enigmatic shape puzzler

[01:32:28] all teams race to complete the designated puzzle before the other team and grab the color puzzle

[01:32:33] shapes and select the first puzzle you want to complete maneuver the shape until you have

[01:32:37] successfully recreated the puzzle image so this is a tan gram it's their way of doing a tan gram

[01:32:42] basically where what you're given is like a bunch of shapes that some of you heard this before

[01:32:46] you cut out and i guess they're trying to recreate the thing of run out onto the course and grab a

[01:32:51] puzzle piece and bring it back where once you get all the pieces together then you form this shape

[01:32:57] i also love the idea of on survivor they run out to grab the puzzle piece but it's like two inches long

[01:33:02] they just said it's made of paper and they just have to carry it back yeah so this is the 15

[01:33:10] survivor party game in a nutshell uh listen i could have spent 15 on much worse yeah things but uh

[01:33:17] certainly a lark for those of you that are looking to spend some time together now you have what eight

[01:33:22] ways to do so i love it all right why do one thing well when you can do eight things exactly

[01:33:29] exactly one why uh whole ass one thing when you can eighth ass eight different things well we have

[01:33:37] one last item for you and uh maybe the most parasocial we've encountered throughout not only

[01:33:45] today's exercise really in the history of the price is rork amanda kimmel survivor heroes versus

[01:33:52] villains final tribal warn sorry hand signed with photo proof so this is amanda kimmel's final tribal

[01:34:00] counsel offer from the only time she was on the jury in heroes versus villains she sold it and signed it

[01:34:11] kevin this is more so for you a gauge of the internet more than anything i think at this point

[01:34:16] how much do you think this is worth and this is from dcts on ebay so if the ova tepe buff was 350

[01:34:29] i have written down

[01:34:35] i just never underestimate the freaks on the internet um i'm i'm going

[01:34:44] four four four four four hundred in honor of hopefully the fourth time we'll see amanda kimmel

[01:34:50] on a survivor coming up in 15th liana what do you think amanda kimmel signed sorry yeah i am i think

[01:34:58] i may have underestimated the freaks on the internet i said 250 250 well i have to say liana sorry for

[01:35:08] you kevin is closer but uh as kevin said never underestimate no amanda kimmel fans on the internet

[01:35:19] that's what i would have said for the game 999 dollars and 99 cents we value different things

[01:35:27] it's fine i'd be intrigued to track like if this item has been on the market for long what the price

[01:35:32] point was because i think also you know with specific sections of the fan base absolutely becoming

[01:35:37] enamored with amanda kimmel as micronesia showed up on netflix i feel like that's a perfect way to

[01:35:42] really inflate the price yeah if that's possible this will end my day

[01:35:48] yeah i just you don't i i just don't want to buy it you could get a fourth of a taylor swift ticket for

[01:35:56] that yeah but sorry is last forever and you could of course don this and do your own

[01:36:03] reenactment of the surely iconic amanda kimmel final tribal council speech to the final three

[01:36:09] of heroes versus villains but we all remember well listen uh halloween is but 300 something days

[01:36:16] away get an early jump on that because you know it'll be marked up to two thousand dollars by the

[01:36:21] time october rolls around this is an investment piece kevin you have to get in early on the ground

[01:36:26] floor it's like what condition is it like what is it's a picture of her hold it like is it like

[01:36:33] is it uh it says these items are on screen worn and in perfect condition oh perfect condition wow

[01:36:42] and there it also includes a four by six photo signed by amanda kimmel as well

[01:36:48] but what's the picture is it this picture okay so wait so you get the sorry that she signed and you

[01:36:57] also get a picture of her holding the sorry that she signed that she signed

[01:37:03] okay this is a weird uh you know and russian nesting doll of merch and then now all we need

[01:37:10] is for someone to take a screenshot of this and have a magic kimmel sign this and the cycle continues

[01:37:15] exactly well congratulations to liana for having a handily one victory here but i think we're all

[01:37:23] the victors right now we've all gotten some new things to stuff into our holiday shopping list we

[01:37:29] know how i'll have uh some games we can play at the next big rhap event as well i think we're overall

[01:37:36] the victors uh and unfortunately it is a time that we bring this to a close uh they will close off

[01:37:44] not the survivor timeline but the timeline of the b&b but of course we'll end every podcast as we do with

[01:37:50] our guests highlighting a charity or a cause that is important to them kevin is there anything you'd

[01:37:56] like to plug this week um yeah how about my friends uh motion ball motion ball for special olympics um

[01:38:10] they uh raise a bunch of money for special olympics uh here in canada you can look them up they do a lot

[01:38:17] of cool events they throw galas across the country um they do other fundraisers and stuff and um i think

[01:38:25] it's cool because sometimes with the charities you know you give your money or whatever and then it

[01:38:30] disappears and then you're like what happened to that is it just on a balance sheet somewhere like

[01:38:35] what is what is going on this is very cool to like see the impact because you get to play sports

[01:38:39] um with the athletes and support them and uh yeah oh that's awesome well kevin thank you so so much

[01:38:47] always a pleasure to get to talk with you uh and to have yourself submit to these absolute shenanigans

[01:38:53] to come in with the prevailing theory that jeff may have been replaced by ai a few years ago something

[01:38:58] that i will keep ai on uh what do you have to plug again as i said before the confessional is really

[01:39:05] humming along strong right now as we're entering the final couple months of survivor 47 yeah uh if

[01:39:13] you're not there reality tv newsletters.com we write your favorite reality stars right about uh what's

[01:39:19] really happening it's just a different format this week we got uh you heard it here first

[01:39:24] um dwight from survivor 43 is writing something um he's told me a little bit about what's going on

[01:39:30] there i'm i'm excited uh i think it's a really fun topic and i think it'll be cool um otherwise i'm on

[01:39:38] tiktok instagram i talk about movies typically at kevin ted jacobs um and uh i've been thinking a lot

[01:39:47] about like this immunity challenge and i think i'm over it okay would you prefer any of the ones

[01:39:55] listed in the party game yes including you rather have them throw a toilet paper roll in the air and

[01:40:01] catch it on their finger yes okay put that on tv put put funny sounds behind it yeah i just think

[01:40:12] you're describing did once upon a time have them stack tiles from one to 100 writing the alphabet

[01:40:17] is like a close cousin to that and make them write that i just don't like it's like oh like

[01:40:21] i agree with sam i agree with sam sitting down and be like i do 25 percent of my weight you know 50

[01:40:26] pounds like i there's something there's something weird about this challenge but i don't i don't like it

[01:40:32] i don't like it i mean what's interesting is that uh you know charlie i'll be interested to see if

[01:40:36] they bring it up for 48 because 47 barely had any time like i'm pretty sure they went out to play

[01:40:44] either right after or right before the moment aired with charlie winning and talking about how grip

[01:40:49] strength was the most important thing to winning so they couldn't have tested it whatsoever i don't

[01:40:55] know if people really took that to heart for 48 they could have they could last out there for like

[01:40:59] months instead of the minutes that it usually takes i wouldn't be surprised if andy trained it andy

[01:41:04] was right in the mix there yeah very true liana you were in the mix of course doing your

[01:41:10] usual coverage anything you'd like to plug this week just keeping on keeping on with the mass singer

[01:41:16] also puya has decided we're all gonna switch to blue sky now instead of twitter um so he made me a

[01:41:23] blue sky account so it looks just like twitter so you can now follow me on blue sky i'm at liana ism

[01:41:29] he's at puya ism so oh that's sweet yeah isn't that cute so uh yeah i haven't used it yet but

[01:41:35] he's gonna show me how to use it later so yeah i mean it's it's i'm on blue sky as well i didn't

[01:41:39] mike bloom type it's very similar it's uh i believe the story is that it's a bunch of like previous uh

[01:41:44] twitter programmers that are over there so it's basically the same but you can check me out on

[01:41:49] on all social media platforms including cameo adding mike bloom type let's talk with sierra this week

[01:41:54] which was very enjoyable obviously she gives her perspective on things like the comments about andy

[01:41:59] like the anika vote etc really great to hear her perspective on that of course on the scripted

[01:42:04] side still covering the penguin which is finishing up this week uh tv for real i was gone but uh

[01:42:10] sasha was able to talk with franny about agatha all along which sounds like a very fun post-halloween

[01:42:16] treat i'm talking about star galactica but i'll be back next week with liana and a guest covering

[01:42:22] episode 9 of survivor 47 it is a very exciting time the jury has just begun and as we talked about

[01:42:29] at the very beginning it does feel like there's so many like independently motivated people at this

[01:42:35] point in time that it does seem like we're going to get a lot of ebbing and flowing with a lot of

[01:42:41] different dynamics so yeah even if it spells doom for gata at the moment uh i think that is going to

[01:42:47] be very short-lived or at least i hope so because that'll be a very fun thing to talk about next week

[01:42:52] with liana and another guest thank you all so much for listening special thanks to everyone behind the

[01:42:56] scenes at rhap for packaging this podcast for your eyes and ears out there thank you so much to will

[01:43:02] from america for his fantastic theme song and for all of you for listening and submitting yourself to

[01:43:08] these absolute shenanigans week in and week out we're going to continue to provide that no matter

[01:43:14] what may be happening including next week as survivor 47 continues thank you all so much for listening

[01:43:21] again until next time everybody we'll check you out at your next day

[01:43:25] like i'm the honor yeah they're playing some games that i pray to your mama that they're not super lame

[01:43:32] and if that all sounds cool i can tell you the name it's the r h a p b m b

[01:43:40] like i'm the honor yeah they're playing some games that i pray to your mama that they're not super lame

[01:43:48] and if that all sounds cool i can tell you the name it's the r h a p b
