[00:02:32] [SPEAKER_04]: What a way to come back into podcasting, I must say.
[00:02:36] [SPEAKER_08]: Absolutely, because we have a powerhouse guest talking about a powerhouse show.
[00:02:40] [SPEAKER_08]: Look, the fall TV season is upon us and one of the constants that we've experienced, much like Survivor, is Grey's Anatomy, which is coming back for season 21.
[00:02:51] [SPEAKER_08]: And we're so excited to bring this person on and out now. Survivor legend Kelly Wentworth, welcome to TV4Real.
[00:02:58] [SPEAKER_05]: Hey, I'm so excited.
[00:03:00] [SPEAKER_05]: I love Grey's Anatomy, so this is going to be great.
[00:03:03] [SPEAKER_04]: I can't wait. Oh, my gosh.
[00:03:06] [SPEAKER_04]: I have so many thoughts.
[00:03:08] [SPEAKER_04]: So it's just but we'll get through it all.
[00:03:10] [SPEAKER_04]: OK, thank you for picking this show because I feel like I've had such a journey with this show, so I can't I can't wait to hear all about this.
[00:03:19] [SPEAKER_04]: So so how? Yeah.
[00:03:20] [SPEAKER_04]: Should we start with Grey's Anatomy, Mike?
[00:03:23] [SPEAKER_08]: Listen, let's let's cut to the chase.
[00:03:25] [SPEAKER_08]: Like a surgeon would if that has reference is not abundantly clear.
[00:03:31] [SPEAKER_08]: I've seen two episodes.
[00:03:33] [SPEAKER_08]: Oh, Grey's Anatomy amongst the I don't know.
[00:03:36] [SPEAKER_08]: I'm going to assume a thousand.
[00:03:37] [SPEAKER_08]: Is this like the one piece of scripted TV where it's just been around forever?
[00:03:42] [SPEAKER_05]: It's been around a long time.
[00:03:44] [SPEAKER_05]: I need to know, though, why you've seen two episodes, because usually you would have not seen any or you would be totally into a show.
[00:03:51] [SPEAKER_05]: So how did tell us?
[00:03:53] [SPEAKER_08]: Yeah, so a while back I did a podcast where we watched as many post Super Bowl episodes of TV as possible just to be like, oh, what was going on?
[00:04:06] [SPEAKER_08]: So the only episodes I've seen of Grey's Anatomy were the two part episode with the bomb with Kyle Chandler as the bomb guy.
[00:04:14] [SPEAKER_05]: OK, those were intense episodes.
[00:04:17] [SPEAKER_05]: If those were the two episodes you watched, that's yeah, that's a lot.
[00:04:20] [SPEAKER_08]: And I thought, OK, well, surely the show piqued its extremity there.
[00:04:27] [SPEAKER_08]: But then I found out a lot of things that have happened through osmosis.
[00:04:31] [SPEAKER_08]: And it really does seem like that is fairly mild in comparison to what's happened over the course of 20 years.
[00:04:37] [SPEAKER_05]: Yeah, at the time, I think that seemed very extreme.
[00:04:41] [SPEAKER_05]: But then we had a lot of things happen since then.
[00:04:44] [SPEAKER_05]: They've gotten rid of a lot of key characters which we can talk about.
[00:04:48] [SPEAKER_05]: And in my opinion, I'm going to be 100 percent honest.
[00:04:52] [SPEAKER_05]: I will admit I actually have not watched the last couple of seasons because so many of my beautiful friends have either been killed off or just removed from the show.
[00:05:04] [SPEAKER_05]: So I'm like, you know, Grey's Anatomy when I was growing up is just not the same anymore.
[00:05:08] [SPEAKER_05]: But I do need to go back and get into it. So OK, so that's all I'm going to say for now.
[00:05:12] [SPEAKER_04]: Oh, OK. You and me, same brain.
[00:05:17] [SPEAKER_04]: Because that's exactly where I am with Grey's Anatomy, where I keep telling people, free yourself.
[00:05:24] [SPEAKER_04]: Because I've been in the trenches, if you know it like first day, first show I was watching.
[00:05:30] [SPEAKER_04]: And I've talked about I feel like Grey's Anatomy specifically, which is why I feel so excited to talk about it.
[00:05:35] [SPEAKER_04]: Like, actually where this was a show when I moved to America, I lived with my aunt and we.
[00:05:44] [SPEAKER_04]: It's six women, so four cousins and our moms were all watching.
[00:05:51] [SPEAKER_04]: We used to watch shows together, Desperate Housewives, Scandal.
[00:05:55] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, exactly.
[00:05:56] [SPEAKER_08]: OK, hold on.
[00:05:56] [SPEAKER_08]: You're an ABC household.
[00:05:58] [SPEAKER_06]: OK, hold on now.
[00:06:00] [SPEAKER_06]: Exactly.
[00:06:01] [SPEAKER_04]: Desperate Housewives?
[00:06:03] [SPEAKER_04]: Exactly.
[00:06:03] [SPEAKER_04]: OK, OK.
[00:06:04] [SPEAKER_04]: OK, so Grey's Anatomy.
[00:06:07] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, so this was like the show.
[00:06:09] [SPEAKER_04]: And to me, it'll always take me back to this young immigrant kid.
[00:06:13] [SPEAKER_04]: Why are we watching this with our moms?
[00:06:15] [SPEAKER_04]: Don't ask me. But it's fine.
[00:06:18] [SPEAKER_04]: It is what it is.
[00:06:19] [SPEAKER_04]: And that's why this show was always such a deep, deep place in my heart.
[00:06:25] [SPEAKER_04]: And then they started killing off my characters.
[00:06:29] [SPEAKER_04]: And then I said, I've got to go because you all are pissing me off.
[00:06:32] [SPEAKER_04]: And I don't want to hate the show.
[00:06:33] [SPEAKER_04]: You see what I'm saying?
[00:06:34] [SPEAKER_04]: So I had to end the toxic relationship because they were playing with me too much.
[00:06:39] [SPEAKER_04]: So I don't I have to hear Kelly.
[00:06:41] [SPEAKER_05]: Yeah, like you're you're a journey with Gray's Anatomy.
[00:06:44] [SPEAKER_05]: I don't even remember.
[00:06:46] [SPEAKER_05]: I know I watched from the beginning, but I can't really remember
[00:06:49] [SPEAKER_05]: why I started watching.
[00:06:50] [SPEAKER_05]: I think just a lot of people were talking about it
[00:06:53] [SPEAKER_05]: because, you know, I'm a little bit older.
[00:06:54] [SPEAKER_05]: And there was a show when I was young called ER.
[00:06:59] [SPEAKER_05]: Oh, yeah. George Clooney.
[00:07:00] [SPEAKER_05]: And now that's what my mama was watching.
[00:07:02] [SPEAKER_05]: I was watching ER.
[00:07:03] [SPEAKER_05]: And so I think I just kind of grew up watching that type of show.
[00:07:06] [SPEAKER_05]: So when Gray's Anatomy came out, everyone was talking about it.
[00:07:09] [SPEAKER_05]: So the show is based in Seattle.
[00:07:10] [SPEAKER_05]: I lived in Seattle.
[00:07:12] [SPEAKER_05]: So I feel like that was a part of it.
[00:07:13] [SPEAKER_05]: And just because you could see the space
[00:07:14] [SPEAKER_05]: seat on the ferry and now listen, I'm going to tell you all
[00:07:16] [SPEAKER_05]: I actually live on an island now that you have to take a ferry to.
[00:07:20] [SPEAKER_05]: So every time I get on, I am I am hearing
[00:07:24] [SPEAKER_05]: I am hearing, you know, McDreamy in my head
[00:07:28] [SPEAKER_05]: talking about the ferry boats before that one horrible episode happened.
[00:07:32] [SPEAKER_05]: That's why I was.
[00:07:33] [SPEAKER_05]: Oh, yeah, I just I just I just I love it.
[00:07:35] [SPEAKER_05]: I love it. I think the show is so fun because
[00:07:39] [SPEAKER_05]: just it has so many so many layers.
[00:07:42] [SPEAKER_05]: It's not just about the surgeries and this kind of ridiculous cases,
[00:07:45] [SPEAKER_05]: but it's all about the characters and their relationships.
[00:07:47] [SPEAKER_05]: And you just start to really connect with these people.
[00:07:50] [SPEAKER_05]: And that's when they start killing them off.
[00:07:51] [SPEAKER_05]: I'm like, what are you doing?
[00:07:53] [SPEAKER_05]: First, George, like you can't do this to me.
[00:07:56] [SPEAKER_05]: So it's like family.
[00:07:57] [SPEAKER_05]: So that's my Grey's Anatomy journey.
[00:08:00] [SPEAKER_08]: Yeah. Wow.
[00:08:01] [SPEAKER_08]: I mean, all right.
[00:08:01] [SPEAKER_05]: And Mike, you're probably just sitting here like I know.
[00:08:04] [SPEAKER_08]: OK, so so I love this is along the way.
[00:08:06] [SPEAKER_08]: I'm going to fill you in as to what I know.
[00:08:08] [SPEAKER_08]: And then you can give me stuff and I'll respond.
[00:08:10] [SPEAKER_08]: This is a spoiler filled podcast.
[00:08:12] [SPEAKER_08]: The George is a character played by T.R.
[00:08:14] [SPEAKER_08]: Knight. Yes.
[00:08:15] [SPEAKER_08]: And he went into the army and he died.
[00:08:19] [SPEAKER_08]: Or am I mixing up with another character?
[00:08:21] [SPEAKER_04]: No, he didn't go to the army.
[00:08:23] [SPEAKER_04]: He's a dog.
[00:08:24] [SPEAKER_05]: You want us to tell you?
[00:08:25] [SPEAKER_05]: Yeah, yeah. He was hit by a bus.
[00:08:32] [SPEAKER_05]: He was hit by a bus and he came in.
[00:08:34] [SPEAKER_05]: Regina George.
[00:08:37] [SPEAKER_05]: Well, it did. Yeah, I didn't end well.
[00:08:39] [SPEAKER_05]: So he was hit by a bus.
[00:08:41] [SPEAKER_05]: Well, mind you, we need to go back on George.
[00:08:42] [SPEAKER_05]: So George is yes, this very like as a character.
[00:08:46] [SPEAKER_05]: He almost wasn't taken seriously as a doctor by his family, by other people,
[00:08:51] [SPEAKER_05]: like just because he was kind of like so nice.
[00:08:54] [SPEAKER_05]: And like he just maybe didn't have that cutthroat type mentality.
[00:08:58] [SPEAKER_05]: But he was a character that everyone loved.
[00:09:00] [SPEAKER_05]: Like he was just amazing.
[00:09:02] [SPEAKER_05]: And so I can't remember, Sasha, did he did he he was hit by a bus saving someone?
[00:09:08] [SPEAKER_05]: Or you usually end everyone.
[00:09:11] [SPEAKER_04]: Hold on, because you said but I don't know if he was like just like walking.
[00:09:14] [SPEAKER_05]: I think he was trying to save someone and he came in and we came to the hospital.
[00:09:18] [SPEAKER_04]: People save. So that's why.
[00:09:21] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah. Oh, my God.
[00:09:23] [SPEAKER_04]: George O'Malley death.
[00:09:24] [SPEAKER_04]: Oh, why is that the second thing?
[00:09:27] [SPEAKER_08]: People start right after George O'Malley life, I assume.
[00:09:31] [SPEAKER_04]: Literally. Oh, my gosh.
[00:09:33] [SPEAKER_04]: But yes, our dear double seven and the way we find out
[00:09:37] [SPEAKER_04]: that it's George, all by the way. Yes. Yes.
[00:09:41] [SPEAKER_04]: Oh, it's painful.
[00:09:42] [SPEAKER_04]: So obviously, it's like faces really messed up.
[00:09:45] [SPEAKER_04]: We don't know who it is.
[00:09:46] [SPEAKER_04]: Blah blah. Meredith, the main character, raised anatomy. Right.
[00:09:49] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah. Comes in and he literally writes the double seven on her hand like zero.
[00:09:56] [SPEAKER_04]: You know, he with his hand right zero zero seven.
[00:09:58] [SPEAKER_04]: And that's how she realizes it's George.
[00:10:01] [SPEAKER_04]: Was that like because that was like a nickname or something?
[00:10:03] [SPEAKER_05]: Yeah. Yeah.
[00:10:05] [SPEAKER_04]: Sorry. Yeah, I forgot that.
[00:10:08] [SPEAKER_04]: That's who got there. Yeah.
[00:10:09] [SPEAKER_04]: Oh, my God. Yes.
[00:10:11] [SPEAKER_04]: Because he was so he was he he does join the army.
[00:10:15] [SPEAKER_08]: OK. He does join the army.
[00:10:17] [SPEAKER_08]: I remembered something.
[00:10:19] [SPEAKER_08]: I don't think he did.
[00:10:21] [SPEAKER_04]: Forget. Oh, really?
[00:10:22] [SPEAKER_04]: It's because of Owen.
[00:10:24] [SPEAKER_04]: I don't think that was part of the show, though, was that before he was?
[00:10:26] [SPEAKER_04]: He abruptly and inexplicably
[00:10:29] [SPEAKER_04]: really, really decided to join the U.S.
[00:10:31] [SPEAKER_04]: Army in Iraq while his friends at the hospital prepare an intervention
[00:10:35] [SPEAKER_04]: to convince O'Malley to stay.
[00:10:38] [SPEAKER_04]: Who they all work on a way really just I don't remember.
[00:10:42] [SPEAKER_04]: So
[00:10:44] [SPEAKER_04]: I'm
[00:10:44] [SPEAKER_04]: brought in after a horrible bus accident in which he pushed a woman
[00:10:47] [SPEAKER_04]: out of the way and saved her.
[00:10:49] [SPEAKER_08]: Oh, OK. Well, is he dying?
[00:10:50] [SPEAKER_04]: What he loves? He doesn't end up going to the army.
[00:10:54] [SPEAKER_04]: Oh, OK. Well, OK.
[00:10:56] [SPEAKER_08]: I mean, I think that's his like pinfoil hat.
[00:11:01] [SPEAKER_08]: That's a hell of an intervention.
[00:11:02] [SPEAKER_08]: It's been planned by the friends of like, listen,
[00:11:05] [SPEAKER_08]: if you're physically unable to perform, we'll put you on the public
[00:11:08] [SPEAKER_08]: permanently.
[00:11:09] [SPEAKER_04]: If you're not with us, you're not going anywhere.
[00:11:15] [SPEAKER_04]: Oh, George. Bless George.
[00:11:17] [SPEAKER_08]: Because the show started right where it was like him
[00:11:20] [SPEAKER_08]: and Izzy, who's Katherine Heigl's character.
[00:11:23] [SPEAKER_08]: Yes. Meredith.
[00:11:25] [SPEAKER_08]: They were like in turn.
[00:11:26] [SPEAKER_04]: Christina Yang. Yes.
[00:11:28] [SPEAKER_04]: The most badass and Alex Karev.
[00:11:32] [SPEAKER_04]: Who? Which is my my 13th reason for quitting the show.
[00:11:37] [SPEAKER_08]: Why did he die?
[00:11:39] [SPEAKER_04]: No, they did.
[00:11:41] [SPEAKER_04]: OK, they did.
[00:11:42] [SPEAKER_04]: And dirty. Oh, no.
[00:11:44] [SPEAKER_05]: Yeah, let's talk. Let's talk.
[00:11:45] [SPEAKER_04]: So Karev is like the typical good looking F
[00:11:48] [SPEAKER_04]: boy that, like, you know, is he thinks he is it?
[00:11:52] [SPEAKER_04]: He is him.
[00:11:53] [SPEAKER_04]: And then he kind of gets, you know, knocked down a few pegs
[00:11:57] [SPEAKER_04]: because of just how bad ass Meredith Gray and Christina Yang are.
[00:12:02] [SPEAKER_04]: So I don't know, Kelly, do you think he's like number three
[00:12:05] [SPEAKER_04]: in that intern class? Right.
[00:12:07] [SPEAKER_04]: Like, maybe is he's better than him?
[00:12:09] [SPEAKER_04]: Maybe not.
[00:12:10] [SPEAKER_04]: In terms of who we like or in terms of just like allegedly
[00:12:14] [SPEAKER_04]: how good they are as a doctor, because he's always trying to be number one.
[00:12:18] [SPEAKER_05]: But well, but Christina is Christina and Meredith are top two.
[00:12:22] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, for sure.
[00:12:24] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah. And then everyone else is fighting for third.
[00:12:26] [SPEAKER_04]: Let's yeah.
[00:12:27] [SPEAKER_04]: So anyway, but then he's like disliked.
[00:12:30] [SPEAKER_04]: We hate him. Everyone hates him.
[00:12:31] [SPEAKER_04]: You know, he's like dismissive, brash, blah, blah, blah.
[00:12:35] [SPEAKER_04]: You know, has a temper, a little all of this.
[00:12:38] [SPEAKER_04]: And then all of a sudden he meets Jane Doe and, you know, his whole life changes.
[00:12:45] [SPEAKER_06]: She's OK. So Jane Doe is another woman that was in a bus accident.
[00:12:49] [SPEAKER_06]: But I can't tell who she is.
[00:12:50] [SPEAKER_06]: It wasn't an accident, I believe. Right.
[00:12:54] [SPEAKER_05]: Jane Doe.
[00:12:57] [SPEAKER_05]: She came in.
[00:12:58] [SPEAKER_05]: Gosh, gosh, it's such an old season.
[00:13:01] [SPEAKER_05]: It's so I know.
[00:13:02] [SPEAKER_05]: Um. But there was gosh,
[00:13:06] [SPEAKER_05]: I don't remember how he gets like she came into the hospital, obviously.
[00:13:08] [SPEAKER_04]: He was very patient.
[00:13:11] [SPEAKER_05]: Like, yeah, that's enough. That's all you need to know.
[00:13:14] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, like survivors, you know, she's yeah,
[00:13:16] [SPEAKER_04]: it's like a whole pregnant woman that gets rescued because she and she is amnesia.
[00:13:21] [SPEAKER_04]: Like for Mike, these things don't line up.
[00:13:25] [SPEAKER_05]: This woman came in with a billboard.
[00:13:27] [SPEAKER_05]: So basically, yeah.
[00:13:29] [SPEAKER_05]: So basically, Gref kind of has this like,
[00:13:33] [SPEAKER_05]: um, he goes from this guy that you don't like to all of a sudden.
[00:13:36] [SPEAKER_05]: Oh, maybe this person has a heart. Maybe this is a good person.
[00:13:38] [SPEAKER_05]: And then as you continue his story, he ends up getting together with Izzy
[00:13:42] [SPEAKER_05]: and she's getting cancer.
[00:13:43] [SPEAKER_05]: And so he goes through that whole thing with her and it's very much there
[00:13:45] [SPEAKER_05]: for her. And he kind of just has this like shift in how he is
[00:13:49] [SPEAKER_05]: as a character and you almost start like rooting for him, I think.
[00:13:53] [SPEAKER_05]: And then you can now and you can finish with the dark.
[00:13:56] [SPEAKER_05]: What happened?
[00:13:57] [SPEAKER_04]: So, yeah. So then, you know, blah, blah, blah.
[00:13:59] [SPEAKER_04]: Like him and Izzy have a moment.
[00:14:01] [SPEAKER_04]: Um, Catherine, I go, we know. Yes, yes.
[00:14:03] [SPEAKER_08]: Um, has she has sex with a ghost?
[00:14:07] [SPEAKER_05]: Yes, she does.
[00:14:09] [SPEAKER_08]: Because of him. Yeah.
[00:14:11] [SPEAKER_08]: Yeah. Oh, yeah. Sex with Negan.
[00:14:14] [SPEAKER_05]: Well, we'll have to talk about Izzy because there's a few very intense.
[00:14:17] [SPEAKER_05]: Yeah. Very intense season.
[00:14:20] [SPEAKER_05]: Yeah. But that's well, let's finish with Carrethia.
[00:14:22] [SPEAKER_04]: Yes. But anyway, the crabs has like, yeah, all of this.
[00:14:25] [SPEAKER_04]: And then finally, you know, becomes good.
[00:14:29] [SPEAKER_04]: Him and Meredith are kind of the only two people left.
[00:14:33] [SPEAKER_04]: And, you know, spoiler let like they're on like a great journey.
[00:14:36] [SPEAKER_04]: Both of them are doing amazing.
[00:14:38] [SPEAKER_04]: Blah, blah, blah. Alex finds love finally with someone we all like,
[00:14:43] [SPEAKER_04]: you know, and everyone's kind of like happy, happy, happy.
[00:14:46] [SPEAKER_04]: Alex seems to be, you know, the anchor whenever Meredith
[00:14:49] [SPEAKER_04]: feels like she's going anywhere, blah, blah, blah. OK, great.
[00:14:52] [SPEAKER_04]: And we do know also that Alex's family life, not great, comes down.
[00:14:58] [SPEAKER_04]: The next thing you know, Meredith gets into trouble.
[00:15:01] [SPEAKER_04]: Alex needs to ask a bunch of people for help.
[00:15:03] [SPEAKER_04]: And he calls Izzy off the record.
[00:15:07] [SPEAKER_04]: Obviously, we don't see any of this.
[00:15:09] [SPEAKER_08]: Oh, gotcha. Yeah.
[00:15:10] [SPEAKER_04]: And next thing you know, Alex is gone.
[00:15:12] [SPEAKER_04]: He leaves his wife, Joe,
[00:15:16] [SPEAKER_04]: who also is a foster kid. Right.
[00:15:19] [SPEAKER_04]: Um, wait, it has a foster kid or is.
[00:15:23] [SPEAKER_04]: You know, it was was as in like family issues of herself.
[00:15:26] [SPEAKER_04]: And that's why Alex and Joe bond so well.
[00:15:30] [SPEAKER_04]: OK. And he just pieces out in the letter.
[00:15:34] [SPEAKER_05]: But didn't he did.
[00:15:35] [SPEAKER_05]: But did wasn't there some move for that where he got in that fight
[00:15:37] [SPEAKER_05]: with that other guy and like beat that guy up?
[00:15:40] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, yeah. He beat DeLuca. Right. Yeah. Mm hmm.
[00:15:44] [SPEAKER_04]: That kind of started.
[00:15:45] [SPEAKER_04]: DeLuca is Meredith's man at the time.
[00:15:49] [SPEAKER_04]: But, you know, unfortunately, Meredith's men are like buses.
[00:15:52] [SPEAKER_04]: Well, Meredith had a new man because they killed off her man.
[00:15:55] [SPEAKER_08]: Correct. So I know that.
[00:15:57] [SPEAKER_08]: I know McDreamy died in a car accident. Well, multiple.
[00:16:01] [SPEAKER_05]: Yeah, but McDreamy McDreamy did die.
[00:16:04] [SPEAKER_05]: He was one of the later kill offs. Mm hmm.
[00:16:07] [SPEAKER_04]: But again, it's just all these issues with Shonda
[00:16:10] [SPEAKER_04]: and these people just getting whacked off because of it.
[00:16:12] [SPEAKER_08]: So wait, did he know that he was getting written off
[00:16:16] [SPEAKER_08]: or the last thing he does is call another character who left the show?
[00:16:19] [SPEAKER_08]: No, no, no. That was the sign he should have.
[00:16:21] [SPEAKER_04]: No, they gave they gave McDreamy like a hero's send.
[00:16:24] [SPEAKER_04]: That's McDreamy. Yes. Oh, no, no.
[00:16:28] [SPEAKER_06]: Alex Karev, not Karev.
[00:16:30] [SPEAKER_04]: Karev is a Karev's leaving right where they're just like.
[00:16:36] [SPEAKER_04]: He ends up finding out that Izzy has
[00:16:39] [SPEAKER_04]: frozen two embryos before she had cancer.
[00:16:43] [SPEAKER_04]: And then those embryos became twin babies.
[00:16:47] [SPEAKER_04]: And guess what? They're Alex Karev's kids.
[00:16:51] [SPEAKER_06]: Poor Mike.
[00:16:53] [SPEAKER_06]: Wait, so like he was
[00:16:56] [SPEAKER_04]: taken by that and the thought of a family that he just
[00:17:00] [SPEAKER_04]: peace out Girl Scout Air.
[00:17:02] [SPEAKER_08]: Like they're like one dalliance.
[00:17:05] [SPEAKER_08]: She's like, all right, well, I got these Karev babies.
[00:17:07] [SPEAKER_08]: Got to put them in the day.
[00:17:09] [SPEAKER_04]: They were like on and off.
[00:17:10] [SPEAKER_04]: Like, you know, they they could have been the like one true.
[00:17:13] [SPEAKER_08]: Was it not? It could have been the ghosts.
[00:17:15] [SPEAKER_08]: Was it the ghost babies?
[00:17:17] [SPEAKER_08]: No. So no.
[00:17:20] [SPEAKER_04]: And the thing is, like there is missing a lot of nuance, obviously.
[00:17:24] [SPEAKER_04]: Like, yeah, Alex helps.
[00:17:25] [SPEAKER_08]: You know, very nuanced show, but completely.
[00:17:28] [SPEAKER_04]: Alex housing Meredith because she had done some fraud.
[00:17:31] [SPEAKER_04]: Like I think they need
[00:17:34] [SPEAKER_04]: some fraud.
[00:17:35] [SPEAKER_04]: Because medicine, the medical industry sucks and Meredith,
[00:17:39] [SPEAKER_04]: trying to help out someone.
[00:17:42] [SPEAKER_04]: But, you know, because of all of that is just.
[00:17:46] [SPEAKER_04]: Poor guy is just it was doing pediatric surgery.
[00:17:49] [SPEAKER_04]: Like this is the kind of guy he was like was impeded killing it.
[00:17:54] [SPEAKER_04]: Blah, blah, blah. And then all of a sudden he's just gone.
[00:17:58] [SPEAKER_05]: Yeah. So they got rid of him and yeah.
[00:18:02] [SPEAKER_05]: I think that leads us.
[00:18:04] [SPEAKER_05]: Well, Mike, you tell us what else, you know, who else?
[00:18:06] [SPEAKER_05]: Tell us other characters and we'll kind of give you the back story.
[00:18:08] [SPEAKER_08]: So I know there's.
[00:18:11] [SPEAKER_08]: Bailey. Oh, yeah, Bailey.
[00:18:15] [SPEAKER_08]: Bailey Bailey seems like
[00:18:18] [SPEAKER_08]: I'm trying to think of of who this would be like
[00:18:21] [SPEAKER_08]: the long running show with like the one person that sticks around,
[00:18:25] [SPEAKER_08]: you know, like she is the Ted Danson in sheer.
[00:18:28] [SPEAKER_08]: She seems to be there from beginning to end, even while Island Pompeo
[00:18:32] [SPEAKER_08]: is just sort of like, yeah, I'll go to like stop in for a few episodes.
[00:18:35] [SPEAKER_08]: It seems like now it is Bailey's port to hold down.
[00:18:39] [SPEAKER_05]: Yeah. So Bailey is a big figure from episode one because she's basically
[00:18:44] [SPEAKER_05]: would she be the would she be the what would her title be?
[00:18:47] [SPEAKER_05]: She was the.
[00:18:49] [SPEAKER_05]: She was the.
[00:18:50] [SPEAKER_04]: Well, yeah, she would know becomes right later on.
[00:18:53] [SPEAKER_05]: OK, so she basically is the surgeon that's
[00:18:56] [SPEAKER_05]: far along in her career and she takes in the new class of interns.
[00:19:00] [SPEAKER_05]: What? Yeah. Yeah.
[00:19:03] [SPEAKER_05]: Yeah, yeah, she is.
[00:19:04] [SPEAKER_05]: Yeah, she onwards them and she's basically overseeing their
[00:19:08] [SPEAKER_05]: their time as they're, you know, doing patients and surgeries and all that.
[00:19:12] [SPEAKER_05]: And so she is from the very beginning.
[00:19:14] [SPEAKER_05]: It's like one of the first scenes with her is she's just
[00:19:16] [SPEAKER_05]: you can tell she's like a hard ass, like she's the one
[00:19:18] [SPEAKER_05]: that's going to keep them in order.
[00:19:19] [SPEAKER_05]: She doesn't deal with BS.
[00:19:21] [SPEAKER_05]: They come in, they call her where they call her.
[00:19:24] [SPEAKER_05]: Oh, my God.
[00:19:26] [SPEAKER_05]: Like the drill sergeant or some word they have for her.
[00:19:28] [SPEAKER_05]: And so they're all chattering about it and she comes in the room
[00:19:30] [SPEAKER_05]: and they are so shocked that she's a woman, not a man.
[00:19:33] [SPEAKER_05]: Yeah. Is that OK?
[00:19:39] [SPEAKER_05]: Well, that's what I called her.
[00:19:41] [SPEAKER_04]: Wow. My.
[00:19:42] [SPEAKER_05]: Yeah. Yeah.
[00:19:44] [SPEAKER_05]: So she's that's kind of your first introduction to her is like,
[00:19:47] [SPEAKER_05]: oh, wow, that's what this character is going to be.
[00:19:48] [SPEAKER_05]: But she's obviously
[00:19:51] [SPEAKER_05]: has a lot of layers to her as all of these characters do.
[00:19:54] [SPEAKER_05]: And you kind of start to get to know her more and her
[00:19:57] [SPEAKER_05]: her husband, and then she has a son and she still kind of always
[00:20:01] [SPEAKER_05]: keeps this like tough exterior.
[00:20:06] [SPEAKER_05]: But like she really does care about people a lot.
[00:20:09] [SPEAKER_05]: And I think she's a great she's a really great character.
[00:20:11] [SPEAKER_05]: She's very, very fun.
[00:20:13] [SPEAKER_05]: I like so she has.
[00:20:13] [SPEAKER_08]: She's had the same job for 20 seasons.
[00:20:16] [SPEAKER_08]: Does she ever look into a promotion or anything?
[00:20:18] [SPEAKER_04]: Yes. He is HBIC.
[00:20:21] [SPEAKER_04]: He is chief of surgery by the end or at the end isn't her.
[00:20:26] [SPEAKER_08]: Is there is there drama around like who becomes chief of surgery?
[00:20:29] [SPEAKER_08]: Because I imagine like Meredith has risen through the ranks there.
[00:20:33] [SPEAKER_04]: They wanted Meredith.
[00:20:35] [SPEAKER_04]: Meredith turns it down as well.
[00:20:38] [SPEAKER_04]: And Richard Webber, who was introduced to us as the chief of surgery.
[00:20:43] [SPEAKER_04]: Right. Right. Yeah.
[00:20:44] [SPEAKER_04]: Yes. The main guy, blah, blah, blah.
[00:20:48] [SPEAKER_04]: Mike, take a wild guess how this man,
[00:20:51] [SPEAKER_04]: you know, that is a chief of surgery might know Meredith
[00:20:54] [SPEAKER_04]: before she becomes an ex boyfriend.
[00:20:58] [SPEAKER_04]: Oh, close.
[00:21:00] [SPEAKER_04]: Richard is married man.
[00:21:04] [SPEAKER_04]: But Richard has an affair with Meredith's mom.
[00:21:08] [SPEAKER_05]: Who was also a surgeon, but she gets dementia or she gets
[00:21:13] [SPEAKER_05]: she she can no longer like we're basically introduced to her
[00:21:16] [SPEAKER_05]: a little bit later on, I think in the first season, right?
[00:21:18] [SPEAKER_05]: Yeah. You discover that she was like this top surgeon,
[00:21:22] [SPEAKER_05]: like everyone knows the name Gray.
[00:21:24] [SPEAKER_05]: And so Meredith also kind of has this feeling.
[00:21:28] [SPEAKER_05]: She is Meredith, a nipple baby.
[00:21:30] [SPEAKER_05]: Yeah. Oh, yeah.
[00:21:33] [SPEAKER_05]: So Meredith's mom and Richard had an affair
[00:21:37] [SPEAKER_05]: when Meredith was younger and we start we see pieces of that
[00:21:40] [SPEAKER_05]: as the seasons go on.
[00:21:43] [SPEAKER_08]: Interesting. OK.
[00:21:44] [SPEAKER_04]: And they do have a child that does come to Seattle.
[00:21:48] [SPEAKER_04]: Yes. You're on.
[00:21:49] [SPEAKER_04]: So Meredith's sister, who she didn't know.
[00:21:51] [SPEAKER_08]: Yeah. Oh, so I knew she had a sister.
[00:21:54] [SPEAKER_08]: I didn't know if that was like an already introduced character
[00:21:57] [SPEAKER_08]: or if it's like, hey, you don't know me, but we have the same last name.
[00:22:01] [SPEAKER_04]: No, same last name because because she's given up for adoption.
[00:22:08] [SPEAKER_08]: How does she find them?
[00:22:10] [SPEAKER_08]: So she also coincidentally goes into medicine.
[00:22:13] [SPEAKER_08]: Yeah. Yeah.
[00:22:14] [SPEAKER_08]: Like a child born out of wedlock of two doctors.
[00:22:18] [SPEAKER_05]: But she knew when she came to Gray's loan that it was
[00:22:23] [SPEAKER_05]: that Meredith was there, like she knew that she knew that Meredith was her sister,
[00:22:26] [SPEAKER_05]: but Meredith did not know.
[00:22:28] [SPEAKER_08]: So I feel like this is a horrible lesson for like those kids
[00:22:30] [SPEAKER_08]: who grow up in households where the parents are like,
[00:22:32] [SPEAKER_08]: you must be a doctor because you're in a family of doctors.
[00:22:35] [SPEAKER_08]: Like, look at the gray.
[00:22:37] [SPEAKER_08]: Look what they've all done.
[00:22:40] [SPEAKER_04]: I think my mom's still waiting for me to be a doctor.
[00:22:43] [SPEAKER_08]: So what happened?
[00:22:43] [SPEAKER_08]: So what happened to him? Did he retire?
[00:22:45] [SPEAKER_08]: Did he fired? Did he get hit by a bus?
[00:22:48] [SPEAKER_04]: Many things happened to Richard.
[00:22:52] [SPEAKER_04]: I think he's still on the show.
[00:22:54] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, he is. OK.
[00:22:55] [SPEAKER_04]: There's some illnesses.
[00:22:57] [SPEAKER_04]: There's not wanting to give up his post.
[00:23:00] [SPEAKER_04]: But then, you know, since Bailey was his protege,
[00:23:03] [SPEAKER_04]: he does give it over eventually to Bailey.
[00:23:06] [SPEAKER_04]: But then he's now, you know, like back to being a resident.
[00:23:09] [SPEAKER_04]: But his hands ain't working the same way.
[00:23:11] [SPEAKER_04]: So that's kind of Richard.
[00:23:13] [SPEAKER_08]: How old is this man? Like 83? He's old.
[00:23:15] [SPEAKER_05]: Yeah. Like you can see through the seasons.
[00:23:17] [SPEAKER_05]: His hair gets gray.
[00:23:18] [SPEAKER_05]: Like he'd definitely you could tell that.
[00:23:20] [SPEAKER_05]: Well, he got gray in a number of ways.
[00:23:24] [SPEAKER_07]: Oh, yes.
[00:23:37] [SPEAKER_08]: OK, so I know about Izzy.
[00:23:39] [SPEAKER_08]: I know Catherine Heigl's character where she fell in love with a man named
[00:23:44] [SPEAKER_08]: Denny, who is Jeffrey Dean Morgan, aka Negan.
[00:23:48] [SPEAKER_08]: And so perhaps in an ode or a foreshadowing shot,
[00:23:53] [SPEAKER_08]: Sasha of his role in the boys season four, he had a disease.
[00:23:57] [SPEAKER_08]: And he I think there was a storyline where she like puts him out of his misery.
[00:24:02] [SPEAKER_08]: Like, is there was there a whole controversy about like pulling the plug on him or something?
[00:24:07] [SPEAKER_05]: Well, she kept him alive when he should have died.
[00:24:13] [SPEAKER_05]: Yes. So yes.
[00:24:15] [SPEAKER_05]: So she meets him and she falls in love.
[00:24:17] [SPEAKER_05]: And I think he needs a heart transplant.
[00:24:20] [SPEAKER_05]: So she is his doctor, but falls in love with him.
[00:24:23] [SPEAKER_05]: And there's this whole season basically trying to figure out how he's
[00:24:27] [SPEAKER_05]: how is he going to get a heart, how is he going to get a heart?
[00:24:29] [SPEAKER_05]: We're going to do.
[00:24:30] [SPEAKER_05]: And in the episode, the final episode, basically, where he does die,
[00:24:35] [SPEAKER_05]: they had a heart transplant for him and they were going to get the heart
[00:24:38] [SPEAKER_05]: and they're on the way like they're on the way all this time.
[00:24:41] [SPEAKER_05]: They've kept him alive all this time.
[00:24:43] [SPEAKER_05]: And then there's a there's like a ball, like not like a dance.
[00:24:50] [SPEAKER_05]: Yes. At the hospital, at the hospital.
[00:24:52] [SPEAKER_06]: I think a little prom.
[00:24:54] [SPEAKER_08]: Like a little problem.
[00:24:56] [SPEAKER_08]: How much does an hour at the Civic Center cost?
[00:24:59] [SPEAKER_08]: Don't have a hospital going to get a code blue
[00:25:02] [SPEAKER_08]: with over the line while they're playing the last dance.
[00:25:06] [SPEAKER_05]: So Izzy comes in his room to show Denny her beautiful dress.
[00:25:10] [SPEAKER_05]: When she comes in, he's basically like blue, like he's dead.
[00:25:13] [SPEAKER_05]: And so she cuts.
[00:25:16] [SPEAKER_05]: Isn't that what happened? Am I telling it right?
[00:25:18] [SPEAKER_05]: Yeah, the elbow.
[00:25:19] [SPEAKER_05]: And then she's she cuts a wire to be able to keep.
[00:25:22] [SPEAKER_05]: So he's not dead.
[00:25:23] [SPEAKER_05]: I know he is. She does CPR. God, I can't remember.
[00:25:25] [SPEAKER_05]: I think he was dead and then she keeps him.
[00:25:28] [SPEAKER_05]: But she kept him alive somehow.
[00:25:31] [SPEAKER_05]: Well, I mean, yeah, I think he's gone by this time.
[00:25:34] [SPEAKER_05]: She was basically pumping his heart for him. Yeah.
[00:25:37] [SPEAKER_05]: He's been like this little thing, pumping his heart.
[00:25:38] [SPEAKER_05]: And then she gets all the other interns involved
[00:25:40] [SPEAKER_05]: and they're all like in this room.
[00:25:41] [SPEAKER_05]: And then Bailey comes in and is like, what's going on?
[00:25:44] [SPEAKER_05]: And then she and then and then it.
[00:25:46] [SPEAKER_05]: Yeah. I mean, he died. He died.
[00:25:49] [SPEAKER_05]: And he leaves her money, which is and he leaves her money.
[00:25:52] [SPEAKER_05]: And then she gets cancer and she starts seeing the ghost of him.
[00:25:55] [SPEAKER_05]: But we don't really know like why.
[00:25:58] [SPEAKER_05]: And then it comes out that he's basically
[00:26:00] [SPEAKER_05]: it comes out that basically he was like almost like an angel
[00:26:03] [SPEAKER_05]: coming to, like, take her up to heaven with him.
[00:26:06] [SPEAKER_05]: What? But but she but it's like,
[00:26:08] [SPEAKER_05]: do you want to go up to heaven with me
[00:26:09] [SPEAKER_05]: or do you want to live on this earth?
[00:26:10] [SPEAKER_05]: Do you want to go to hell?
[00:26:15] [SPEAKER_05]: So yeah, but she's with Karev at this time.
[00:26:19] [SPEAKER_05]: Yes. Yeah.
[00:26:20] [SPEAKER_05]: So she's like, do I want to stay on earth and fight this with Karev,
[00:26:23] [SPEAKER_05]: like fight my cancer or do I want to go and basically?
[00:26:25] [SPEAKER_08]: Well, she cut it.
[00:26:25] [SPEAKER_08]: Denny told that she's like, listen, I'll go.
[00:26:28] [SPEAKER_08]: But like, let me freeze these Karev babies so they can live on.
[00:26:33] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah. And here's the like because I looked it up
[00:26:35] [SPEAKER_04]: because I couldn't remember when she cut the LVAD.
[00:26:38] [SPEAKER_04]: OK, thank you. Thank you.
[00:26:40] [SPEAKER_04]: This is why it's crazy.
[00:26:42] [SPEAKER_04]: OK, explain it.
[00:26:43] [SPEAKER_04]: So there's a donor at Flatline's.
[00:26:46] [SPEAKER_04]: OK, then the car that you know, Dr.
[00:26:48] [SPEAKER_04]: which is the cardio baddie.
[00:26:52] [SPEAKER_04]: You know, he tried to get the other donors heart for Denny.
[00:26:55] [SPEAKER_04]: And in order to help his case, Izzy decides to lie on the phone.
[00:27:01] [SPEAKER_04]: That's right.
[00:27:02] [SPEAKER_04]: Oh, my gosh. Yes. OK, that's right.
[00:27:04] [SPEAKER_04]: And he's getting worse.
[00:27:05] [SPEAKER_04]: That's right. Not true.
[00:27:08] [SPEAKER_04]: So they they asked for labs, right, to confirm that he deserves said heart.
[00:27:13] [SPEAKER_04]: So she decides to make his heart actually worse to fool them.
[00:27:18] [SPEAKER_04]: She cuts this LVAD wire.
[00:27:20] [SPEAKER_04]: That's what it is. Oh, my God.
[00:27:23] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah. And then they think stop her.
[00:27:26] [SPEAKER_04]: OK, you know, but he relents and she's crying, blah, blah, blah.
[00:27:30] [SPEAKER_04]: Because basically, she's like, you would never forgive
[00:27:34] [SPEAKER_04]: him for making her love him if he died.
[00:27:37] [SPEAKER_04]: Like all the love story.
[00:27:39] [SPEAKER_08]: Oh, my God. OK. You know what?
[00:27:40] [SPEAKER_08]: Yeah, that woman went straight to hell.
[00:27:42] [SPEAKER_08]: Like, I don't care about the symbology.
[00:27:43] [SPEAKER_08]: I don't know what Denny represents.
[00:27:44] [SPEAKER_08]: That woman said, OK, I'm coming with you and then took an escalator
[00:27:48] [SPEAKER_08]: right on down to the 10th circle.
[00:27:50] [SPEAKER_08]: Good Lord. Yeah.
[00:27:52] [SPEAKER_04]: And then she had to manually pumping his heart.
[00:27:55] [SPEAKER_04]: That's what it was. OK, I forgot.
[00:27:57] [SPEAKER_04]: But that is yeah, I couldn't remember.
[00:27:59] [SPEAKER_05]: I was like, he could have been dead if he was pumping the heart.
[00:28:00] [SPEAKER_05]: OK, yes. Mm hmm.
[00:28:02] [SPEAKER_08]: Oh, my God.
[00:28:03] [SPEAKER_08]: And this was like what season two?
[00:28:06] [SPEAKER_04]: It was really one or two.
[00:28:08] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, maybe two probably.
[00:28:09] [SPEAKER_04]: You know, here's the thing, you know, I forgot.
[00:28:14] [SPEAKER_04]: But George then takes over pumping, then the interns decide, right?
[00:28:18] [SPEAKER_04]: Like they have to get the test result themselves.
[00:28:21] [SPEAKER_04]: Christina looks at the heart, blah, blah, blah.
[00:28:23] [SPEAKER_04]: Denny wakes back up and proposes to Lizzie Izzy before coding.
[00:28:30] [SPEAKER_04]: Oh, I don't remember that.
[00:28:32] [SPEAKER_04]: I forgot about this. Yeah. OK.
[00:28:34] [SPEAKER_04]: Then they like try to say, yeah, you all please have grace.
[00:28:39] [SPEAKER_04]: So Seattle grace with us at this point.
[00:28:42] [SPEAKER_04]: You know, then Bailey comes in and Bailey finds out Bailey is part of them.
[00:28:47] [SPEAKER_04]: I know Bailey hates to see them.
[00:28:49] [SPEAKER_08]: But this isn't like Mr.
[00:28:51] [SPEAKER_08]: Feeny on Boy Meets World is she like interns?
[00:28:55] [SPEAKER_08]: What did you do?
[00:28:56] [SPEAKER_08]: Yeah, I had a heart condition and killing him.
[00:28:59] [SPEAKER_04]: I'm tired of them. She's so tired of them.
[00:29:01] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah. Yeah.
[00:29:01] [SPEAKER_04]: Then the heart eventually starts to beat and then they close surgery.
[00:29:05] [SPEAKER_04]: You know, he's like, wow, my hands are warm, blah, blah, blah, stable.
[00:29:09] [SPEAKER_04]: And he's stable in the room.
[00:29:10] [SPEAKER_04]: And then later that night, he throws a clock and that's right.
[00:29:15] [SPEAKER_05]: That's right. Yeah.
[00:29:17] [SPEAKER_05]: OK, it's all coming back to me now.
[00:29:18] [SPEAKER_08]: Now can I ask? Yes.
[00:29:20] [SPEAKER_08]: Like was the prom still on? Did they keep going?
[00:29:23] [SPEAKER_05]: Oh no. Hold on.
[00:29:24] [SPEAKER_05]: Because this is one thing that was happening.
[00:29:26] [SPEAKER_05]: Scandal is that McDreamy had gotten back with his wife.
[00:29:30] [SPEAKER_05]: But then he's in the bathroom with Meredith doing a little.
[00:29:36] [SPEAKER_04]: Quick. While this is all going on with Denny.
[00:29:39] [SPEAKER_04]: Who's me? Love me. Yeah.
[00:29:42] [SPEAKER_08]: But he was he was married.
[00:29:44] [SPEAKER_04]: So did you know that Meredith was the other woman
[00:29:48] [SPEAKER_08]: multiple times?
[00:29:49] [SPEAKER_08]: It's a lot of against the runs of the family considering her mother.
[00:29:53] [SPEAKER_04]: Yes, yes.
[00:29:55] [SPEAKER_04]: Basically, basically, that's how we introduce.
[00:30:00] [SPEAKER_04]: That's how we are introduced to Meredith and McDreamy is that the
[00:30:05] [SPEAKER_04]: first of all, elevators was their thing.
[00:30:07] [SPEAKER_04]: That's how he proposes to her.
[00:30:09] [SPEAKER_08]: Right. Yeah, I love that is one of the most ridiculous sentences
[00:30:14] [SPEAKER_08]: I've ever heard in my life.
[00:30:16] [SPEAKER_05]: Because in the hospital, that's like the only place you can get
[00:30:19] [SPEAKER_05]: a moment to cry or to yell or whatever.
[00:30:22] [SPEAKER_04]: So they're all with it.
[00:30:24] [SPEAKER_04]: I know the elevator hits the sea.
[00:30:26] [SPEAKER_04]: These two coming, I'll tell you that.
[00:30:28] [SPEAKER_04]: So basically they had a moment at this like the famous bar.
[00:30:32] [SPEAKER_04]: Like this, the bar is like the Cheers bar, right?
[00:30:35] [SPEAKER_04]: Like everyone's always there.
[00:30:37] [SPEAKER_04]: Kind of deal. Yeah, Joe's. Thank you.
[00:30:39] [SPEAKER_04]: And anyway, they like meet up.
[00:30:42] [SPEAKER_04]: They have a long moment.
[00:30:44] [SPEAKER_04]: You know, they Meredith is I had this one night.
[00:30:46] [SPEAKER_04]: Sam was really hot guy. Wow.
[00:30:49] [SPEAKER_04]: He is now the neurosurgeon.
[00:30:52] [SPEAKER_04]: Oh, so she had a surgeon.
[00:30:54] [SPEAKER_05]: Brain surgery episode when she comes to work, she's like,
[00:30:56] [SPEAKER_05]: oh my God, I had this crazy night out.
[00:30:58] [SPEAKER_05]: I met this guy. I had a one night stand.
[00:30:59] [SPEAKER_05]: She goes to work and she's like with Bailey and the rest of the class.
[00:31:02] [SPEAKER_05]: And then all of a sudden this guy, her one night stand,
[00:31:04] [SPEAKER_05]: like dreamy comes in and he's like the neurosurgeon.
[00:31:06] [SPEAKER_05]: She's like, uh, and then it comes out later on.
[00:31:11] [SPEAKER_05]: That he's married.
[00:31:13] [SPEAKER_05]: They kind of end up back and forth thing, a little bit of, you know,
[00:31:16] [SPEAKER_05]: dating and then it comes out later that he has a wife.
[00:31:19] [SPEAKER_05]: And so she's like the other woman and the wife comes
[00:31:21] [SPEAKER_05]: and she comes back to the hospital because they aren't fully.
[00:31:26] [SPEAKER_05]: Divorce. Yeah, they're still married today,
[00:31:28] [SPEAKER_05]: but it gets more complicated because she they're in this situation
[00:31:32] [SPEAKER_05]: because she the wife was having an affair with his best friend,
[00:31:36] [SPEAKER_05]: McSteamy. Yes.
[00:31:38] [SPEAKER_05]: Wait, they're friends?
[00:31:40] [SPEAKER_08]: I thought it was like a replacement thing.
[00:31:43] [SPEAKER_08]: I thought it was like, well, I'm done with McDreamy.
[00:31:45] [SPEAKER_08]: Come in, McSteamy.
[00:31:46] [SPEAKER_08]: That is so do we find that later?
[00:31:51] [SPEAKER_08]: That'd be like, but that would be like if my nickname was Tommy
[00:31:56] [SPEAKER_08]: and I'm like, come here, Bommie.
[00:31:59] [SPEAKER_08]: I don't want to nickname my friend an incredibly similar nickname.
[00:32:04] [SPEAKER_04]: The interns did it, to be fair.
[00:32:06] [SPEAKER_04]: It wasn't any of the like it was an Addison or the two men.
[00:32:10] [SPEAKER_08]: I don't I guess I'd much rather be McDreamy than McSteamy.
[00:32:14] [SPEAKER_08]: McSteamy to me implies some sort of like moisture situation.
[00:32:17] [SPEAKER_08]: He was he was hot.
[00:32:19] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, he was.
[00:32:20] [SPEAKER_04]: Unfortunately, it does work.
[00:32:22] [SPEAKER_04]: Mark Sloan, classic surgeon,
[00:32:26] [SPEAKER_04]: body, McHottie,
[00:32:28] [SPEAKER_04]: Hockey, but like in the right way, right?
[00:32:30] [SPEAKER_04]: Like the right amount of hockey you want in a man or you're like,
[00:32:33] [SPEAKER_04]: you're hot and you know it.
[00:32:35] [SPEAKER_04]: But like I'm about it and I want to know more versus McDreamy
[00:32:40] [SPEAKER_04]: was very much like, wow, you're a really nice guy,
[00:32:42] [SPEAKER_04]: but you're f and cheater.
[00:32:44] [SPEAKER_04]: But you're really nice guy.
[00:32:46] [SPEAKER_04]: And, you know, you're smart and you're this.
[00:32:48] [SPEAKER_04]: So it just unfortunately, it worked for the most of them.
[00:32:51] [SPEAKER_04]: I don't know how else to say.
[00:32:53] [SPEAKER_08]: Was Meredith involved with both of them?
[00:32:56] [SPEAKER_08]: No, no, just just McDreamy.
[00:32:59] [SPEAKER_04]: A gray was, but not Meredith.
[00:33:01] [SPEAKER_08]: Oh, and yes, they go on a double date at one point.
[00:33:04] [SPEAKER_08]: The gray is in the mix.
[00:33:07] [SPEAKER_05]: Mm hmm.
[00:33:07] [SPEAKER_05]: I don't think so.
[00:33:09] [SPEAKER_05]: No, no.
[00:33:12] [SPEAKER_05]: Unfortunately, Lexi.
[00:33:14] [SPEAKER_08]: Yeah. Yeah.
[00:33:15] [SPEAKER_08]: Oh, she died in the plane crash.
[00:33:17] [SPEAKER_08]: Yeah. I know about the plane crash.
[00:33:20] [SPEAKER_08]: OK.
[00:33:20] [SPEAKER_08]: You know, OK.
[00:33:21] [SPEAKER_08]: Tell us what you know about the plane crash.
[00:33:23] [SPEAKER_08]: Yes. OK.
[00:33:24] [SPEAKER_08]: So I know that a bunch of them were on a plane and it crashed.
[00:33:29] [SPEAKER_08]: And then Meredith's sister, I think she was like they killed off
[00:33:32] [SPEAKER_08]: like a couple of other secondary characters, but like she was the big debt.
[00:33:36] [SPEAKER_08]: And this was something that I think either closed out one season
[00:33:39] [SPEAKER_08]: and like maybe started another one.
[00:33:41] [SPEAKER_08]: But I remember it was a very big deal
[00:33:44] [SPEAKER_08]: because all of a sudden it turns into lost for like half a second.
[00:33:48] [SPEAKER_08]: Yes. Yes.
[00:33:49] [SPEAKER_04]: Actually, that's wow.
[00:33:51] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, I love that connection because that's so true.
[00:33:55] [SPEAKER_05]: It did. Yeah. Yep.
[00:33:58] [SPEAKER_08]: And they like do they deal with any repercussions after that?
[00:34:01] [SPEAKER_08]: Is there like a legal
[00:34:02] [SPEAKER_08]: yeah, all over suing the plane company?
[00:34:06] [SPEAKER_05]: There is. I don't remember all the details,
[00:34:07] [SPEAKER_05]: but it definitely extended into the next season
[00:34:10] [SPEAKER_05]: because some of the people lived and so that like one woman lost
[00:34:15] [SPEAKER_05]: she lose at least one leg.
[00:34:17] [SPEAKER_05]: I think she lost one, not both.
[00:34:19] [SPEAKER_04]: And then Meredith had to like they had to solve it all.
[00:34:22] [SPEAKER_05]: Right. Like, yeah. Yeah. I remember.
[00:34:24] [SPEAKER_05]: Wait, did it?
[00:34:25] [SPEAKER_05]: I thought they died from that too.
[00:34:28] [SPEAKER_05]: Ali lost her leg. Right.
[00:34:30] [SPEAKER_05]: No, no, it was Kelly's partner.
[00:34:32] [SPEAKER_05]: Oh, Nevada, Nevada, Arizona.
[00:34:36] [SPEAKER_08]: Yeah.
[00:34:36] [SPEAKER_08]: So I knew there was a woman named after a state,
[00:34:39] [SPEAKER_08]: but I did.
[00:34:40] [SPEAKER_04]: But the bottom Arizona, Arizona Robbins, your leg, I believe.
[00:34:43] [SPEAKER_04]: Right. I don't know.
[00:34:44] [SPEAKER_04]: We want this information. Yeah.
[00:34:47] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, because our whole thing is that she can't walk in it
[00:34:50] [SPEAKER_04]: and then there's just a lot of frustration.
[00:34:51] [SPEAKER_04]: Yes. Correct. Yeah.
[00:34:53] [SPEAKER_05]: It's her.
[00:34:54] [SPEAKER_05]: Like there's a lot of seasons and there's a lot of stuff that happens.
[00:34:57] [SPEAKER_05]: So, you know, we're I haven't gone back and watched the season.
[00:34:59] [SPEAKER_05]: No, I'm loving it.
[00:35:00] [SPEAKER_05]: So it's hard to remember this is a dome.
[00:35:02] [SPEAKER_04]: And then I'm random Wikipedia.
[00:35:05] [SPEAKER_04]: Thanks.
[00:35:06] [SPEAKER_04]: This is how sick the show is in that you're it just it's imprinted on my heart forever.
[00:35:12] [SPEAKER_08]: How many how many times do they play the Chasing Cars song by Snow Patrol?
[00:35:17] [SPEAKER_08]: Because that's one song I associate with it.
[00:35:19] [SPEAKER_08]: One thing I do know is for some inexplicable reason,
[00:35:22] [SPEAKER_08]: they did do a musical episode.
[00:35:24] [SPEAKER_08]: Yes. And I watched parts of that because I will say, listen,
[00:35:27] [SPEAKER_08]: if you are a television show out there and you know,
[00:35:31] [SPEAKER_08]: I'm a slut for musical episodes, but I have taste.
[00:35:33] [SPEAKER_08]: You know, for me, it's like they have to be relatively good singers.
[00:35:36] [SPEAKER_08]: And there were like some drips and drabs there.
[00:35:38] [SPEAKER_08]: But I do remember that the song Chasing Cars is affiliated with the show,
[00:35:42] [SPEAKER_08]: but I'm not sure in what way.
[00:35:44] [SPEAKER_05]: So there's Chasing Cars and there's one other song, How to Save a Life.
[00:35:49] [SPEAKER_05]: Oh, by the Fray.
[00:35:52] [SPEAKER_05]: So how to say basically those are played during very
[00:35:56] [SPEAKER_05]: I guess you would call them iconic moments on the show or very like
[00:36:00] [SPEAKER_05]: impactful moments like someone dies or some crazy surgery happened
[00:36:06] [SPEAKER_05]: or just just something.
[00:36:08] [SPEAKER_05]: It's just like those are the two songs.
[00:36:10] [SPEAKER_05]: Oh, and when Derek dies, this is yes.
[00:36:13] [SPEAKER_08]: Yeah. So is it like for you all some sort of Pavlovian response?
[00:36:16] [SPEAKER_08]: Like when you hear that,
[00:36:17] [SPEAKER_08]: yeah, bomb bomb bomb bomb, it's like, oh my God, no, no.
[00:36:21] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah. When the when the How to Save a Life thing starts,
[00:36:25] [SPEAKER_04]: I was like some tragedies about to happen.
[00:36:27] [SPEAKER_04]: I don't know what's going to happen.
[00:36:29] [SPEAKER_04]: Watch out, planes.
[00:36:31] [SPEAKER_04]: You might go watch out fairies might say.
[00:36:35] [SPEAKER_04]: What? What?
[00:36:37] [SPEAKER_06]: Oh, yeah, the fairy.
[00:36:38] [SPEAKER_04]: Oh, well, Mary don't almost die in a fairy.
[00:36:40] [SPEAKER_08]: Yeah. Yeah.
[00:36:42] [SPEAKER_08]: This these people need to like live at the hospital.
[00:36:44] [SPEAKER_08]: Like I would be so well, they might be a shooter at the hospital.
[00:36:48] [SPEAKER_05]: Oh, yeah. The shooting was so scary.
[00:36:51] [SPEAKER_05]: I didn't even watch those episodes.
[00:36:52] [SPEAKER_05]: That's so scary.
[00:36:53] [SPEAKER_05]: There's a shooter at the mass shooter at the hospital.
[00:36:56] [SPEAKER_05]: He literally kills a bunch of people.
[00:36:57] [SPEAKER_05]: Yeah, he does. He does.
[00:36:59] [SPEAKER_05]: What grievance does he have at the hospital?
[00:37:01] [SPEAKER_05]: He got mad because McDreamy didn't save his wife.
[00:37:06] [SPEAKER_08]: Yes, didn't save his wife.
[00:37:10] [SPEAKER_05]: Exactly. Exactly.
[00:37:13] [SPEAKER_05]: So he comes back and he's like going for McDreamy.
[00:37:15] [SPEAKER_05]: But then he kind of just starts like he just he like loses
[00:37:18] [SPEAKER_05]: that you just start shooting people.
[00:37:19] [SPEAKER_05]: And there's one scene that so I remember it's so scary
[00:37:23] [SPEAKER_05]: because they're in a hospital room and there's
[00:37:26] [SPEAKER_05]: there's like a patient that I think is maybe already died in the bed.
[00:37:29] [SPEAKER_05]: But Bailey and this other guy are like hiding.
[00:37:33] [SPEAKER_05]: And he comes in and he shoots the other guy and has to like be so silent
[00:37:37] [SPEAKER_05]: and she like sees the guy fall.
[00:37:39] [SPEAKER_05]: It's like it's really intense.
[00:37:40] [SPEAKER_05]: I don't even I can't watch it.
[00:37:41] [SPEAKER_04]: And there's like a lot of Bailey's issues, right?
[00:37:46] [SPEAKER_04]: Oh, yeah, as it should be and all of this stuff.
[00:37:50] [SPEAKER_04]: And it's just it's really unfortunate.
[00:37:53] [SPEAKER_04]: Oh, my God.
[00:37:54] [SPEAKER_04]: I'm just I'm reliving all the trauma, y'all.
[00:37:56] [SPEAKER_04]: Like, I forgot half these things happen.
[00:37:58] [SPEAKER_05]: There's a lot.
[00:37:59] [SPEAKER_05]: But the ferry boat, there's a ferry boat accident.
[00:38:01] [SPEAKER_05]: The same ferry boats that I go to and from home on, by the way.
[00:38:06] [SPEAKER_05]: But there's a ferry boat accident and Meredith
[00:38:09] [SPEAKER_05]: ends up in the water.
[00:38:11] [SPEAKER_05]: She gets knocked into the water and they can't find her right away.
[00:38:14] [SPEAKER_05]: And then they bring her in.
[00:38:15] [SPEAKER_05]: And there's this whole episode of her basically like very similar to Izzy
[00:38:19] [SPEAKER_05]: deciding if she's going to live or die. Mm hmm.
[00:38:22] [SPEAKER_08]: Wait, so like what she get knocked in by like an or or just get.
[00:38:25] [SPEAKER_05]: No, there's like a little kid or something.
[00:38:27] [SPEAKER_05]: Yeah. Oh, it's been.
[00:38:28] [SPEAKER_05]: Punches her in the water.
[00:38:29] [SPEAKER_05]: No, is it?
[00:38:30] [SPEAKER_05]: No, she went to save a little kid or something.
[00:38:33] [SPEAKER_05]: Yeah.
[00:38:33] [SPEAKER_05]: These people have to stop saying it's always saving a life.
[00:38:37] [SPEAKER_05]: That's the whole point.
[00:38:38] [SPEAKER_05]: Always saving the life.
[00:38:39] [SPEAKER_05]: Hence how to save a life.
[00:38:41] [SPEAKER_08]: Yes. Oh, my God.
[00:38:44] [SPEAKER_08]: Well, I'm glad.
[00:38:45] [SPEAKER_08]: So do you think like well, Meredith Gray ever die?
[00:38:47] [SPEAKER_08]: Because now she's also like been pseudo kind of written off the show.
[00:38:50] [SPEAKER_08]: Are they going to kill her off?
[00:38:53] [SPEAKER_04]: She comes to visit.
[00:38:54] [SPEAKER_04]: So this is where unfortunately we might get our lashings, Kelly,
[00:38:59] [SPEAKER_04]: because, yeah, we have not watched.
[00:39:01] [SPEAKER_05]: Yeah, I haven't watched the last few seasons.
[00:39:04] [SPEAKER_05]: I've seen clips of things, but I.
[00:39:07] [SPEAKER_05]: Have a. Yeah, same.
[00:39:09] [SPEAKER_04]: My problem is after DeLuca was, you know, he was like,
[00:39:13] [SPEAKER_04]: again, these really normal people that they just kind of
[00:39:19] [SPEAKER_04]: completely do a 180 on their character and just take them like,
[00:39:23] [SPEAKER_04]: oh, he has anger issues.
[00:39:25] [SPEAKER_04]: That must mean that he has found love.
[00:39:28] [SPEAKER_04]: You know, he figured things out with his dad, blah, blah, blah.
[00:39:30] [SPEAKER_04]: All this stuff goes on.
[00:39:32] [SPEAKER_04]: And he because he has anger issues,
[00:39:36] [SPEAKER_04]: you must drive the motorcycle at 170 miles an hour.
[00:39:41] [SPEAKER_04]: And that's how they kill him off.
[00:39:42] [SPEAKER_04]: So then I said they don't want Meredith to be happy.
[00:39:45] [SPEAKER_04]: They don't want to win.
[00:39:48] [SPEAKER_04]: So I just it was I.
[00:39:50] [SPEAKER_04]: Karev was like the final.
[00:39:52] [SPEAKER_04]: No, it was like the coffin was closing.
[00:39:55] [SPEAKER_04]: And then DeLuca was a final nail for me
[00:39:58] [SPEAKER_04]: where I was like, this is just why I'm so.
[00:40:01] [SPEAKER_05]: I started my downhill moment was when they killed off McDreamy
[00:40:05] [SPEAKER_05]: the way that they did because because Mike, we didn't talk about this,
[00:40:09] [SPEAKER_05]: but McDreamy could have lived.
[00:40:11] [SPEAKER_05]: Yes. But he but the doctor.
[00:40:13] [SPEAKER_05]: So basically the perspective they give us is through his perspective
[00:40:17] [SPEAKER_05]: of being injured in the hospital and he's talking about
[00:40:21] [SPEAKER_05]: what the doctor should be doing.
[00:40:23] [SPEAKER_05]: Like he's telling us as the audience what the procedure should be.
[00:40:26] [SPEAKER_05]: And she's doing basically like the opposite.
[00:40:28] [SPEAKER_05]: And so she ends up being the reason that he dies.
[00:40:30] [SPEAKER_05]: But he could have lived because he was alive when he was in the hospital.
[00:40:35] [SPEAKER_05]: So that was for me, like that one really got.
[00:40:39] [SPEAKER_04]: He doesn't get a CT scan in time. That's what it is.
[00:40:43] [SPEAKER_08]: And so does everyone like turn on this doctor that made that decision?
[00:40:46] [SPEAKER_04]: Well, it's at a different hospital.
[00:40:48] [SPEAKER_04]: And the whole point of that hospital, I think, is that it's not gray
[00:40:52] [SPEAKER_04]: and that it's like kind of lower tier, blah, blah, blah,
[00:40:55] [SPEAKER_04]: because they use I feel like I don't know if it's the same hospital.
[00:40:59] [SPEAKER_04]: But in my I'm like remembering green, right, a lot,
[00:41:02] [SPEAKER_04]: which is juxtapositioned with blues and the muted colors and grays.
[00:41:06] [SPEAKER_04]: But anyway, oh, well, then eventually becomes a dark blue
[00:41:09] [SPEAKER_04]: when it's grace alone, I think.
[00:41:11] [SPEAKER_04]: But either way, it doesn't matter.
[00:41:14] [SPEAKER_04]: Did there is like this hospital that subpar, quote unquote.
[00:41:18] [SPEAKER_04]: And yeah, Eric dies there.
[00:41:19] [SPEAKER_04]: Then Bailey, I know, goes to another hospital
[00:41:22] [SPEAKER_04]: because she's having a heart attack, but no one
[00:41:25] [SPEAKER_04]: is taking her serious because she's a woman and a black woman.
[00:41:29] [SPEAKER_04]: So she's like women have heart attacks like what the F are you guys talking about?
[00:41:33] [SPEAKER_04]: But they're like, no, you know, writing her off being like, no, it's stress
[00:41:37] [SPEAKER_04]: or it's X, Y and Z, da da da.
[00:41:39] [SPEAKER_04]: And she knows that if she, you know, goes to graze,
[00:41:42] [SPEAKER_04]: she obviously would have been fine, but she doesn't want anyone to know.
[00:41:46] [SPEAKER_04]: Oh, this is happening.
[00:41:47] [SPEAKER_04]: So she ends up at a different hospital.
[00:41:49] [SPEAKER_08]: She tried getting hit by a bus so that no one knew it was her.
[00:41:53] [SPEAKER_04]: But then she might really die, you know, because Bailey was fine.
[00:41:56] [SPEAKER_04]: No, she makes it through.
[00:42:01] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, it's all bad. It's so bad.
[00:42:04] [SPEAKER_04]: I just I can't believe they did this.
[00:42:07] [SPEAKER_04]: They're like I can still remember crying.
[00:42:09] [SPEAKER_04]: Even though I knew it was coming that they were going to kill him
[00:42:12] [SPEAKER_05]: because they played had a same life. Yeah.
[00:42:14] [SPEAKER_05]: Yeah, it was really sad, though, because it was like the end of like
[00:42:16] [SPEAKER_05]: when you watch a show for so long.
[00:42:19] [SPEAKER_05]: It's like you really do.
[00:42:22] [SPEAKER_05]: Not that these people are like people in your life,
[00:42:24] [SPEAKER_05]: but, you know, you just connect characters and you connect with the stories
[00:42:26] [SPEAKER_05]: and Grey's Anatomy does a good job of
[00:42:30] [SPEAKER_05]: the music choices and they kind of give you these like quotes every episode.
[00:42:34] [SPEAKER_05]: You kind of like these quotes, you're like, oh, wow, like I could.
[00:42:36] [SPEAKER_05]: I'm not a surgeon, but that could apply to my life in a way.
[00:42:39] [SPEAKER_05]: And so they really like bring you into these like relationships.
[00:42:42] [SPEAKER_05]: And and so then when they kill off a major character, it's like, oh, my God.
[00:42:46] [SPEAKER_05]: It was just really it was it was very sad. Yeah. Yeah.
[00:42:51] [SPEAKER_08]: Huh? So then do they like how much do they circulate people in?
[00:42:55] [SPEAKER_08]: Is it like every time you lose one character, you gain three more?
[00:43:01] [SPEAKER_05]: Well, it kind of it started with your main cast,
[00:43:04] [SPEAKER_05]: and then they started kind of getting rid of people,
[00:43:07] [SPEAKER_05]: and then they'd add in basically like a new class of interns.
[00:43:10] [SPEAKER_05]: And so then but some of those wouldn't last like the shooter episode.
[00:43:13] [SPEAKER_05]: They got rid of like some of that class, but then some of them stayed.
[00:43:16] [SPEAKER_05]: And then it's just kind of like now there's I don't even honestly,
[00:43:20] [SPEAKER_05]: I don't even really know who's on it now because I haven't watched.
[00:43:22] [SPEAKER_05]: I did tell a whole new group.
[00:43:24] [SPEAKER_04]: We had the queer storyline that I remember as well.
[00:43:29] [SPEAKER_04]: So that was cool that they were having sex as well.
[00:43:33] [SPEAKER_04]: It was like Cali in Arizona was like the first. Right.
[00:43:38] [SPEAKER_05]: Yeah, not me. Yeah.
[00:43:40] [SPEAKER_04]: That was really cool.
[00:43:41] [SPEAKER_05]: But then Arizona had a baby with Mark, which was. Yes. Because you.
[00:43:48] [SPEAKER_05]: Why didn't Nevada do that?
[00:43:49] [SPEAKER_05]: I don't remember. No, it was Cali.
[00:43:52] [SPEAKER_05]: It was her partner. Arizona didn't do it.
[00:43:53] [SPEAKER_04]: It was Cali. Cali. She.
[00:43:56] [SPEAKER_05]: I think so. I think with Mark. Yeah.
[00:43:59] [SPEAKER_05]: Yeah. I believe that was the thing.
[00:44:02] [SPEAKER_05]: I think she cheated. I'm pretty sure.
[00:44:03] [SPEAKER_04]: And then Arizona with her leg issues had to like carry the baby.
[00:44:08] [SPEAKER_05]: It was Arizona dipped out.
[00:44:10] [SPEAKER_05]: She's like, I'm going to Europe or whatever to teach or whatever.
[00:44:13] [SPEAKER_05]: Wherever she went, Norway or something.
[00:44:15] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah. They said like Cali and Mark used to have sex,
[00:44:18] [SPEAKER_04]: even though they didn't like love each other.
[00:44:20] [SPEAKER_04]: It was like a little ting.
[00:44:22] [SPEAKER_04]: And then it turned into a baby. Turned into a baby.
[00:44:26] [SPEAKER_08]: Do these people like date outside of the hospital?
[00:44:29] [SPEAKER_04]: Absolutely not. Absolutely not.
[00:44:33] [SPEAKER_08]: I mean, I guess being a medical professional, you know, it's very hard
[00:44:37] [SPEAKER_08]: hours to work and to find somebody, but it just feels so
[00:44:40] [SPEAKER_08]: incredibly complicated to like date where you poop in a manner of speaking.
[00:44:46] [SPEAKER_05]: Yeah. Yeah.
[00:44:47] [SPEAKER_05]: So much so that one one day, one episode they all
[00:44:50] [SPEAKER_05]: there was an STD going around and so they all had to be tested
[00:44:53] [SPEAKER_05]: and they were trying to figure out who started the STD situation.
[00:44:59] [SPEAKER_05]: So, yeah. Did they figure it out?
[00:45:02] [SPEAKER_05]: Yes, they do. It was someone that George was sleeping with.
[00:45:04] [SPEAKER_05]: Yeah. Which again, people.
[00:45:06] [SPEAKER_04]: But for the bus.
[00:45:08] [SPEAKER_08]: Yeah. Not in that window.
[00:45:11] [SPEAKER_04]: Oh, but I think this was like
[00:45:16] [SPEAKER_04]: George O'Malley is like, oh, you can get it to question.
[00:45:21] [SPEAKER_08]: Oh, God. He was a little bit of like the like the butt monkey comic relief.
[00:45:25] [SPEAKER_08]: And then it turns out that he can throw it in.
[00:45:28] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah. Remember George and Meredith's little thing?
[00:45:33] [SPEAKER_05]: Yeah, but that was painful to watch
[00:45:35] [SPEAKER_05]: because she was just like crying the whole time.
[00:45:37] [SPEAKER_05]: Yeah. You know, under the covers.
[00:45:40] [SPEAKER_05]: Oh, my God. Why was she was he that bad?
[00:45:43] [SPEAKER_05]: She was no, she was missing.
[00:45:44] [SPEAKER_05]: She was basically doing it because she missed McDreamy and like that.
[00:45:48] [SPEAKER_05]: Not no, not he hadn't died yet.
[00:45:50] [SPEAKER_05]: Like this early on, but you just the fact that he was cheating
[00:45:53] [SPEAKER_05]: and still had a wife and she so she thought like, oh, maybe George
[00:45:55] [SPEAKER_05]: and I, but then she was just sad because she wanted to be with him.
[00:45:58] [SPEAKER_08]: There's like some fight sex happening.
[00:46:01] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, but yeah, it was it was very much using George and it was.
[00:46:05] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah. Yeah.
[00:46:07] [SPEAKER_04]: So that also let's let's talk about Christina Yang.
[00:46:11] [SPEAKER_05]: Yeah, we talked about Christina.
[00:46:13] [SPEAKER_05]: What do you know about Christina, though, Mike?
[00:46:14] [SPEAKER_05]: We didn't know first.
[00:46:15] [SPEAKER_08]: All I know is that while I got into the work of Sandra
[00:46:19] [SPEAKER_08]: O when I went to go see when sideways,
[00:46:22] [SPEAKER_08]: which I talked about last week with Brooke, where I unfortunately
[00:46:25] [SPEAKER_08]: my parents and I got to sit next to each other while we watched
[00:46:28] [SPEAKER_08]: a scene, a full frontal male nudity.
[00:46:30] [SPEAKER_08]: But I know that and I only know this because I saw like
[00:46:34] [SPEAKER_08]: a meme go around recently about how she's childless
[00:46:37] [SPEAKER_08]: and she's OK being childless.
[00:46:39] [SPEAKER_08]: And that was very revolutionary.
[00:46:43] [SPEAKER_08]: That's all I know about her.
[00:46:44] [SPEAKER_08]: And also her and Meredith were like BFFs.
[00:46:47] [SPEAKER_05]: OK, that's all I know.
[00:46:48] [SPEAKER_08]: And I'm imagining probably ship together as well.
[00:46:53] [SPEAKER_05]: OK, I like it.
[00:46:55] [SPEAKER_05]: Yeah. So Sasha, you take this one.
[00:46:59] [SPEAKER_05]: You talk about you talk about you talk about her.
[00:47:01] [SPEAKER_05]: You talk about her. I mean, I can, but I talked a lot.
[00:47:04] [SPEAKER_05]: You know? No, no, not at all.
[00:47:06] [SPEAKER_05]: You're you're our guest. Please go ahead.
[00:47:09] [SPEAKER_05]: Oh, OK.
[00:47:12] [SPEAKER_05]: So Christina basically comes in
[00:47:14] [SPEAKER_05]: and she is the person that she wants to be like the best.
[00:47:21] [SPEAKER_05]: Yeah, like she wants to be the best surgeon.
[00:47:23] [SPEAKER_05]: She wants to be in the surgeries.
[00:47:25] [SPEAKER_05]: She is very competitive.
[00:47:27] [SPEAKER_05]: She would basically like live her life at the hospital
[00:47:30] [SPEAKER_05]: because she wants to be like number one.
[00:47:32] [SPEAKER_05]: And then she ends up falling in love with Dr. Burke.
[00:47:39] [SPEAKER_05]: And they go to get married, but then they don't get married.
[00:47:44] [SPEAKER_05]: And then she leave.
[00:47:48] [SPEAKER_05]: Where does she go? She leaves.
[00:47:50] [SPEAKER_05]: Yeah, where'd she go?
[00:47:51] [SPEAKER_04]: Because basically she does get pregnant even.
[00:47:55] [SPEAKER_04]: OK, yeah.
[00:47:56] [SPEAKER_04]: With her like on and off surge on a relationship with Dr.
[00:48:01] [SPEAKER_04]: Burke and she terminates the pregnancy
[00:48:05] [SPEAKER_04]: and without telling him, which I mean, because.
[00:48:09] [SPEAKER_04]: Oh, that's right. In relationship.
[00:48:11] [SPEAKER_04]: So and I remember it like this was a big deal when it
[00:48:14] [SPEAKER_04]: when they showed this on TV and you know, but again,
[00:48:17] [SPEAKER_04]: she also shares that she had an epitopic pregnancy.
[00:48:20] [SPEAKER_04]: Like it was a whole thing.
[00:48:24] [SPEAKER_04]: And after she has her miscarriage,
[00:48:27] [SPEAKER_04]: she ends up, you know, resuming the relationship
[00:48:29] [SPEAKER_04]: and then Burke gets shot at the shooting.
[00:48:35] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, I forgot that.
[00:48:37] [SPEAKER_05]: Burke get shot. Yeah.
[00:48:38] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, because we, you know, not maybe the best
[00:48:43] [SPEAKER_04]: the person that played Isaiah Washington.
[00:48:45] [SPEAKER_08]: Oh, so he was the guy that did the thing with T.R. Night.
[00:48:48] [SPEAKER_08]: Oh, and they were linked up together.
[00:48:50] [SPEAKER_08]: Yes, I remember that now.
[00:48:52] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah. So, you know, after he gets sure a shot.
[00:48:55] [SPEAKER_04]: Sorry, he develops a hand tumor.
[00:48:57] [SPEAKER_04]: You know, Yang helps him recover.
[00:48:58] [SPEAKER_04]: Wait, but that doesn't that's not pan tremor.
[00:49:02] [SPEAKER_04]: I hand tremor.
[00:49:04] [SPEAKER_04]: And tremor. Yeah.
[00:49:07] [SPEAKER_08]: And I was like, I listen, I'm no medical professional,
[00:49:11] [SPEAKER_08]: but I think that question the legitimacy of this whole operation.
[00:49:15] [SPEAKER_08]: Well, sorry, she needs cause hand tumors.
[00:49:20] [SPEAKER_04]: Oh, my God.
[00:49:21] [SPEAKER_04]: I had tremor like his hand was shaking and so.
[00:49:25] [SPEAKER_04]: The tumor.
[00:49:25] [SPEAKER_04]: So that is that's all.
[00:49:27] [SPEAKER_04]: But you know, then like Yang helps him cover it up,
[00:49:31] [SPEAKER_04]: like blah, blah, blah.
[00:49:32] [SPEAKER_04]: And but here's my thing.
[00:49:34] [SPEAKER_04]: They just like take this bad ass character
[00:49:36] [SPEAKER_04]: and make her fall in love.
[00:49:38] [SPEAKER_04]: And then I feel like that like ruins.
[00:49:41] [SPEAKER_04]: And I know that's not how it does.
[00:49:43] [SPEAKER_04]: But yeah, it's just I feel like she kind of like gets so wrapped up in Burke.
[00:49:49] [SPEAKER_04]: That really pisses me off.
[00:49:51] [SPEAKER_04]: And then finally, like they, you know, again, they go back and forth.
[00:49:55] [SPEAKER_04]: Right. And then she does accept his marriage proposal.
[00:50:00] [SPEAKER_04]: And then she has a moment of panic before she walks out the aisle.
[00:50:03] [SPEAKER_04]: Because again, this character is like supposed to be a bad ass.
[00:50:07] [SPEAKER_04]: And it's just so entwined with work that it pisses me off.
[00:50:10] [SPEAKER_04]: And anyway, whatever.
[00:50:12] [SPEAKER_04]: They end up getting married.
[00:50:15] [SPEAKER_08]: And let me get this at the hospital.
[00:50:17] [SPEAKER_08]: They don't get married. They don't get married.
[00:50:19] [SPEAKER_08]: I'm sorry. Don't get married.
[00:50:20] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah. Oh, I'm sorry.
[00:50:22] [SPEAKER_04]: I'm sorry because he disappears and he's not.
[00:50:25] [SPEAKER_04]: And he's seen we don't see him until way later.
[00:50:28] [SPEAKER_04]: And Yang goes on the honeymoon with Meredith to recover.
[00:50:33] [SPEAKER_04]: Oh, very sex in the city.
[00:50:36] [SPEAKER_04]: Like, did they go to Abu Dhabi?
[00:50:38] [SPEAKER_04]: Listen, not yet.
[00:50:40] [SPEAKER_04]: Oh, but yeah.
[00:50:42] [SPEAKER_04]: And then, you know, whatever.
[00:50:43] [SPEAKER_04]: She has a whole thing.
[00:50:45] [SPEAKER_04]: She meets Owen Hunt, which.
[00:50:47] [SPEAKER_05]: Oh, my gosh. I totally forgot it.
[00:50:49] [SPEAKER_05]: Yes. Oh, my gosh. Oh, my gosh.
[00:50:50] [SPEAKER_04]: But I personally find Owen Hunt to be so irritating.
[00:50:55] [SPEAKER_04]: Oh, my gosh. Me too.
[00:50:56] [SPEAKER_04]: I do not like Owen.
[00:50:58] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah. He's an army trauma surgeon.
[00:51:01] [SPEAKER_04]: And, you know, like they have a little thing.
[00:51:03] [SPEAKER_04]: And again, he's trying to get her to stay down.
[00:51:08] [SPEAKER_04]: And he's again, he's the alpha, not alpha male, the track,
[00:51:13] [SPEAKER_04]: the traditional male without, I think, saying he's a trad husband.
[00:51:17] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, I don't know.
[00:51:18] [SPEAKER_04]: That's how do I say trad wife for men?
[00:51:21] [SPEAKER_04]: That's him.
[00:51:22] [SPEAKER_04]: So I just again, I feel like they have again another damn back and forth
[00:51:27] [SPEAKER_04]: because Yang should have never been in a relationship with no one.
[00:51:31] [SPEAKER_04]: But here they are trying to get her to fall in love.
[00:51:34] [SPEAKER_04]: Anyway, she ends up, you know, leaving.
[00:51:37] [SPEAKER_04]: Then getting rehired.
[00:51:39] [SPEAKER_04]: She she marries Owen, by the way.
[00:51:41] [SPEAKER_04]: And you could tell they should have been at the hospital.
[00:51:46] Yeah, I don't.
[00:51:47] [SPEAKER_04]: I don't know what they do.
[00:51:48] [SPEAKER_04]: They do have a chapel in there.
[00:51:49] [SPEAKER_04]: Everything with her.
[00:51:52] [SPEAKER_04]: But anyway, then they they're together.
[00:51:54] [SPEAKER_04]: Then they break up.
[00:51:55] [SPEAKER_04]: There's like a hospital goes into near bankruptcy.
[00:51:58] [SPEAKER_04]: Like I said, it's just it's so what? Why?
[00:52:00] [SPEAKER_08]: What did they do? Like a fundraiser?
[00:52:03] [SPEAKER_08]: I don't remember.
[00:52:05] [SPEAKER_04]: No, it why it happens is because of the plane crash lawsuit.
[00:52:10] [SPEAKER_04]: Oh, that's right. Yeah.
[00:52:11] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah. Was a key motive behind Owen's request.
[00:52:15] [SPEAKER_04]: And then because Owen was chief of surgery, right?
[00:52:17] [SPEAKER_04]: For a little bit. Oh, OK. As well.
[00:52:20] [SPEAKER_04]: So anyway, Owen tells her that he feels responsible.
[00:52:23] [SPEAKER_04]: He thought she was dead.
[00:52:24] [SPEAKER_04]: They have a sexual relationship after divorcing.
[00:52:28] [SPEAKER_04]: Free my girl.
[00:52:29] [SPEAKER_04]: Christina Yank is the point.
[00:52:31] [SPEAKER_04]: But then.
[00:52:34] [SPEAKER_05]: Yeah, Owen reconnects with one of his old army doctors.
[00:52:40] [SPEAKER_05]: What's her name?
[00:52:41] [SPEAKER_05]: I wasn't a fan of her either.
[00:52:43] [SPEAKER_05]: Can't be her name and Teddy Teddy.
[00:52:48] [SPEAKER_05]: Oh, Teddy. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
[00:52:50] [SPEAKER_05]: So then he goes on to have a thing with her.
[00:52:52] [SPEAKER_05]: Yeah. And yeah, he has PTSD.
[00:52:59] [SPEAKER_04]: And he's a mess.
[00:53:01] [SPEAKER_04]: But anyway, Christina and Meredith, like, have a bunch of cool professional
[00:53:06] [SPEAKER_04]: experiences because they do the 3D heart heart printing thing as well.
[00:53:12] [SPEAKER_04]: And then the Harper Avery,
[00:53:14] [SPEAKER_04]: which is a really prestigious award.
[00:53:17] [SPEAKER_04]: And, you know, she's nominated, but she's passed over
[00:53:21] [SPEAKER_04]: because of her close relationship with the Harper Avery Foundation,
[00:53:27] [SPEAKER_04]: because guess what?
[00:53:29] [SPEAKER_04]: They co-own the new Seattle Grace, which is Grace Sloan Memorial Hospital.
[00:53:34] [SPEAKER_04]: Now, gray for Lexi, who dies and Mark, who dies Sloan in the plane crash.
[00:53:41] [SPEAKER_08]: And then you can name hospitals like that.
[00:53:46] [SPEAKER_04]: It's a whole the hospital.
[00:53:49] [SPEAKER_04]: Weird money thing is crazy.
[00:53:51] [SPEAKER_04]: The insurance, they wouldn't come back to their contest.
[00:53:54] [SPEAKER_08]: We call it a hospital.
[00:53:55] [SPEAKER_04]: Make hospital phase basically because they wouldn't give them
[00:54:00] [SPEAKER_04]: insurance money because Karev wasn't on the plane in Nevada,
[00:54:04] [SPEAKER_04]: a.k.a Arizona was.
[00:54:05] [SPEAKER_04]: So that caused some insurance drama there anyway.
[00:54:08] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah. But then Christina goes to speak in Zurich.
[00:54:12] [SPEAKER_04]: Beautiful city. Everyone should go.
[00:54:15] [SPEAKER_04]: Orchestrated by none other than one.
[00:54:17] [SPEAKER_04]: Preston Burke, who has built his own hospital
[00:54:21] [SPEAKER_04]: following the winning of the Harper Avery.
[00:54:24] [SPEAKER_08]: No, this can't.
[00:54:26] [SPEAKER_08]: This is not like tree houses.
[00:54:28] [SPEAKER_08]: You can't be like, screw you.
[00:54:30] [SPEAKER_08]: I'm building my own hospital now.
[00:54:33] [SPEAKER_04]: It's just they do Christina so dirty.
[00:54:35] [SPEAKER_04]: That's why I just I have to know.
[00:54:37] [SPEAKER_04]: They do. And he offers her job as a head of the hospital in Switzerland
[00:54:42] [SPEAKER_04]: so that he can spend more time with his wife and kids.
[00:54:46] [SPEAKER_04]: Christina, of course, accepts the offer.
[00:54:48] [SPEAKER_08]: And so that's how she gets written off the show.
[00:54:50] [SPEAKER_04]: Yes. Yes. Yes.
[00:54:52] [SPEAKER_04]: But guess what?
[00:54:54] [SPEAKER_04]: She interviews candidates for her replacement
[00:54:56] [SPEAKER_04]: and she interviews one Maggie Pierce for the new chief of cardio.
[00:55:02] [SPEAKER_04]: And that is how one twisted sister leaves.
[00:55:05] [SPEAKER_04]: And then the other one shows up.
[00:55:07] [SPEAKER_04]: Maggie Pierce is the love child of.
[00:55:12] [SPEAKER_04]: Gray and.
[00:55:14] [SPEAKER_04]: Dr. Weber. Yeah, oh, my God.
[00:55:16] [SPEAKER_05]: No, I was. Oh, it's so many names now that I'm like,
[00:55:18] [SPEAKER_05]: I'm even trying to keep track of it.
[00:55:20] [SPEAKER_08]: OK, so this is the long lost half.
[00:55:23] [SPEAKER_05]: So this is the system comes in. Yeah.
[00:55:25] [SPEAKER_05]: So one sister leaves and another one.
[00:55:28] [SPEAKER_05]: Mm hmm. Oh, so Christina leaves and yeah. Mm hmm.
[00:55:32] [SPEAKER_04]: Wow. Yeah, it's really the worst
[00:55:34] [SPEAKER_04]: because my girl deserves better.
[00:55:37] [SPEAKER_05]: Yeah, Christina was great.
[00:55:39] [SPEAKER_08]: Wow. Yeah, that just sounds like God at that point.
[00:55:43] [SPEAKER_08]: I'm like, yeah, put me in front of the bus.
[00:55:44] [SPEAKER_08]: Put me on the boat.
[00:55:45] [SPEAKER_08]: I'd rather die that way than live on my knees.
[00:55:50] [SPEAKER_04]: You might die. You might.
[00:55:54] [SPEAKER_05]: Yeah, it's a lot.
[00:55:55] [SPEAKER_05]: And then and so we've really only talked about
[00:55:57] [SPEAKER_05]: kind of the characters that were first introduced
[00:56:01] [SPEAKER_05]: since then, a lot of key characters have emerged, as we talked about earlier,
[00:56:05] [SPEAKER_05]: because some have been killed off or left and so they replaced them.
[00:56:09] [SPEAKER_05]: So there have been other people that had pretty big storylines,
[00:56:13] [SPEAKER_05]: you know, later on in the seasons, kind of middle seasons.
[00:56:15] [SPEAKER_05]: But it's too much even.
[00:56:17] [SPEAKER_05]: You've got the download on like the main, like the heartbeat of a Grey's Anatomy.
[00:56:21] [SPEAKER_08]: Yeah, yes.
[00:56:22] [SPEAKER_08]: The heartbeat that I am pumping the life into.
[00:56:26] [SPEAKER_08]: Exactly.
[00:56:26] [SPEAKER_08]: It is. I are a wire.
[00:56:28] [SPEAKER_03]: So yeah.
[00:56:29] [SPEAKER_08]: So what do you think, Kelly?
[00:56:30] [SPEAKER_08]: What's your consensus?
[00:56:31] [SPEAKER_08]: Do you think they should take the show off life support at this point?
[00:56:36] [SPEAKER_08]: Or at this point, are you like 21 years?
[00:56:38] [SPEAKER_08]: What's another 21?
[00:56:40] [SPEAKER_05]: I guess the ratings are telling them if it should continue on.
[00:56:43] [SPEAKER_05]: But I listen, maybe I'm not a die hard
[00:56:46] [SPEAKER_05]: Grey's fan because I stopped watching it, but maybe I'll get back into it.
[00:56:49] [SPEAKER_05]: Maybe this will inspire me.
[00:56:51] [SPEAKER_05]: I do think that what the show was
[00:56:54] [SPEAKER_05]: and how great that first batch of characters was, it's just really hard.
[00:56:58] [SPEAKER_05]: It's like a it's like a sequel to a movie, right?
[00:57:00] [SPEAKER_05]: Or when you get on movie four and you're like, OK, it's not even
[00:57:02] [SPEAKER_05]: the same people. I don't even recognize the movie I first watched.
[00:57:05] [SPEAKER_05]: It just kind of feels to me like that's where it's at now.
[00:57:08] [SPEAKER_05]: There's just not really anybody left
[00:57:12] [SPEAKER_05]: that made me fall in love with the show.
[00:57:14] [SPEAKER_05]: So but I mean, obviously people are still watching it.
[00:57:18] [SPEAKER_04]: So yeah, my mom said that it's back, baby.
[00:57:22] [SPEAKER_04]: Oh, oh, I like it again
[00:57:26] [SPEAKER_04]: because she was also pissed off at the DeLuca death and all.
[00:57:30] [SPEAKER_04]: OK, he said, no, it's time to come back and watch it.
[00:57:35] [SPEAKER_08]: OK, when they used to watch it, when they bring on new cast members,
[00:57:38] [SPEAKER_08]: is it like when they tried that thing in the middle of Glee
[00:57:41] [SPEAKER_08]: where it's like, oh, so and so is the new McDreamy.
[00:57:43] [SPEAKER_08]: So and so is the new mayor.
[00:57:45] [SPEAKER_08]: Are they trying to come up with original characters 21 years in?
[00:57:50] [SPEAKER_04]: I think they have like a journey, right, where it's like
[00:57:53] [SPEAKER_04]: you come in as an intern or as maybe a transfer doctor
[00:57:57] [SPEAKER_04]: because at one point two hospitals merged.
[00:58:00] [SPEAKER_04]: Oh, the merger. Oh yeah, the merger. Yeah.
[00:58:03] [SPEAKER_04]: That was really bad.
[00:58:05] [SPEAKER_04]: E. Jesse Williams, a Jackson Avery.
[00:58:08] [SPEAKER_04]: Wait, is he still around?
[00:58:10] [SPEAKER_04]: I don't know.
[00:58:11] [SPEAKER_08]: I don't know. He was on like only murders in the building.
[00:58:14] [SPEAKER_04]: I don't believe he's still on the last appearance in 2021.
[00:58:18] [SPEAKER_05]: So, oh, see, that's what I'm saying.
[00:58:20] [SPEAKER_05]: So so basically like that there was like there was kind of
[00:58:22] [SPEAKER_05]: like a second group that came in.
[00:58:24] [SPEAKER_05]: It was also really likable, but you still had kind of some of the old.
[00:58:27] [SPEAKER_05]: You're like, OK, like I'm down with this blending because I'm getting new,
[00:58:30] [SPEAKER_05]: but I'm still getting that like feeling of my old characters.
[00:58:33] [SPEAKER_05]: And then once they started to get rid of that first class
[00:58:35] [SPEAKER_05]: and the second class was like, who are we left with here?
[00:58:39] [SPEAKER_04]: What it felt very. Yeah.
[00:58:41] [SPEAKER_04]: Exactly. Yeah.
[00:58:43] [SPEAKER_04]: And again, the shooting gave us like, unfortunately, like clean house
[00:58:47] [SPEAKER_04]: a little bit. It did.
[00:58:48] [SPEAKER_04]: It's like 11 people die.
[00:58:51] [SPEAKER_04]: Oh, my God.
[00:58:52] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah. So Avery like, you know, again, Avery, A.K.A.
[00:58:57] [SPEAKER_04]: Harper Avery Avery.
[00:58:59] [SPEAKER_04]: So he's like Neppo baby, Neppo grandbaby even.
[00:59:05] [SPEAKER_04]: So he's like trying to forge his own journey, blah, blah, blah.
[00:59:09] [SPEAKER_04]: So and then him and Keppner, which is the whole other person.
[00:59:13] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah. Second, second class was like the second.
[00:59:16] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah. The Mercy West people.
[00:59:18] [SPEAKER_08]: Yeah. What era what era are we in in Gray's?
[00:59:21] [SPEAKER_08]: Is this the new era of Gray's Anatomy?
[00:59:23] [SPEAKER_04]: Probably four. Yeah. Four.
[00:59:26] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah. Yeah.
[00:59:28] [SPEAKER_04]: Because I would say, yeah, that.
[00:59:31] [SPEAKER_04]: Meredith Christina era one Mercy West people, I feel like are era two.
[00:59:35] [SPEAKER_04]: Then went to people die.
[00:59:37] [SPEAKER_04]: And then DeLuca and their crew, I feel like is three.
[00:59:41] [SPEAKER_05]: And I think they were three.
[00:59:41] [SPEAKER_05]: DeLuca was three.
[00:59:42] [SPEAKER_05]: And then now we're on whatever we're on now.
[00:59:45] [SPEAKER_08]: OK, so if they if they were on a season of the challenge,
[00:59:47] [SPEAKER_08]: which era do you think would be the best?
[00:59:50] [SPEAKER_05]: Oh, yeah.
[00:59:53] [SPEAKER_05]: Please. Number one. Yeah.
[00:59:54] [SPEAKER_05]: The original. By far, the original.
[00:59:57] [SPEAKER_05]: I'm with you.
[00:59:58] [SPEAKER_08]: All right. I'll keep that in mind for my fan fiction.
[01:00:01] [SPEAKER_08]: I God, I am simultaneously
[01:00:06] [SPEAKER_08]: addled like God, this must be what cocaine is like.
[01:00:09] [SPEAKER_08]: It's getting a jump on Gray's Anatomy.
[01:00:12] [SPEAKER_08]: I'm jazzed.
[01:00:13] [SPEAKER_08]: There's so much stimulus happening.
[01:00:15] [SPEAKER_08]: This show sounds absolutely wild.
[01:00:17] [SPEAKER_04]: When are we going to introduce you to Scandal?
[01:00:19] [SPEAKER_04]: Or did you watch Scandal?
[01:00:20] [SPEAKER_08]: I've never watched Scandal.
[01:00:22] [SPEAKER_08]: Oh, Bridgerton was was my only foray into Shonda Rhimes.
[01:00:26] [SPEAKER_08]: So wow.
[01:00:27] [SPEAKER_08]: Scandal season one of Scandal was.
[01:00:30] [SPEAKER_04]: I feel like you. Yes. Good.
[01:00:32] [SPEAKER_08]: I know a scandal has its handled and there's a guy named Fitz
[01:00:36] [SPEAKER_08]: played by the guy who voiced almost a Trojan Tarzan.
[01:00:40] [SPEAKER_04]: He's the M right in MGM.
[01:00:44] [SPEAKER_04]: Or he's a G. He's the G. Tony Goldwyn.
[01:00:46] [SPEAKER_04]: He's a G in MGM.
[01:00:48] [SPEAKER_04]: Talk about money.
[01:00:50] [SPEAKER_08]: And I know, yes, there was that.
[01:00:51] [SPEAKER_08]: There's the show of Why is Your Dick on a Dead Man's Phone?
[01:00:55] [SPEAKER_08]: How to get away with murder.
[01:00:57] [SPEAKER_05]: No, I couldn't really get into how to get away with murder,
[01:01:00] [SPEAKER_04]: but I love Scandal season one.
[01:01:02] [SPEAKER_04]: I gave up on how to get away, but Scandal.
[01:01:06] [SPEAKER_05]: It held pretty good.
[01:01:07] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, I feel like we yeah, we need to do a watch of Scandal
[01:01:12] [SPEAKER_04]: because it's new show.
[01:01:14] [SPEAKER_08]: Listen, there might be a sequel, Kelly, to bring you on.
[01:01:17] [SPEAKER_08]: Obviously, there's so much more we can talk about in terms of your TV taste.
[01:01:20] [SPEAKER_08]: But we did such a deep dive into Grey's Anatomy.
[01:01:23] [SPEAKER_04]: I know, I think we are explaining to Mike Olivia
[01:01:27] [SPEAKER_04]: and her dad and the daddy issues that come with it.
[01:01:33] [SPEAKER_05]: Yeah, there's a lot to unpack on that show, to be honest with you.
[01:01:36] [SPEAKER_05]: I need to do a rewatch because I had gosh, I haven't seen that.
[01:01:39] [SPEAKER_05]: I think so. Yeah, I haven't.
[01:01:40] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, I haven't seen it either.
[01:01:42] [SPEAKER_04]: But oh, my. Yeah, I also looked up this new era of people.
[01:01:46] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, I have no idea.
[01:01:48] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, there is this guy named Lucas Adam.
[01:01:51] [SPEAKER_04]: First year surgical interns again, you know, era four.
[01:01:55] [SPEAKER_04]: Derek Shepherd is his aunt.
[01:01:57] [SPEAKER_04]: Uncle Amalia is his aunt.
[01:02:01] [SPEAKER_04]: And what Meredith?
[01:02:03] [SPEAKER_04]: His aunt. What is happening?
[01:02:07] [SPEAKER_04]: Zola, his cousin.
[01:02:09] [SPEAKER_04]: Who this girl we don't we don't know.
[01:02:13] [SPEAKER_08]: That's really interesting.
[01:02:15] [SPEAKER_04]: Now, like, do we need to rewatch?
[01:02:16] [SPEAKER_04]: You know what? I'm this crazy.
[01:02:18] [SPEAKER_08]: I also wonder if I will get to a certain point where like
[01:02:20] [SPEAKER_08]: they can just write Grey's Anatomy episodes, you know,
[01:02:22] [SPEAKER_08]: just bring in random characters, various medical maladies.
[01:02:25] [SPEAKER_08]: I mean, how much do they focus nowadays on the medical maladies?
[01:02:28] [SPEAKER_08]: Or are they just primarily on the interpersonal drama?
[01:02:31] [SPEAKER_05]: I think they've always done a good job of weaving it in.
[01:02:34] [SPEAKER_05]: Obviously, the cases are extreme and seems so ridiculous.
[01:02:39] [SPEAKER_05]: Some of them are very normal.
[01:02:40] [SPEAKER_05]: Some of them are like, how would that even happen?
[01:02:43] [SPEAKER_05]: Like crazy, like flesh eating diseases and all this.
[01:02:46] [SPEAKER_05]: There was one episode where there was like a train crash
[01:02:50] [SPEAKER_05]: and these two people had a pole go through both of them
[01:02:52] [SPEAKER_05]: and only one of them could live.
[01:02:55] [SPEAKER_05]: And they both had to decide.
[01:02:57] [SPEAKER_05]: They had to decide.
[01:02:58] [SPEAKER_05]: And then, yeah, only one of them could live.
[01:03:00] [SPEAKER_08]: It would give me agoraphobia.
[01:03:01] [SPEAKER_08]: I can't get on a plane.
[01:03:03] [SPEAKER_08]: I can't get on a train.
[01:03:04] [SPEAKER_08]: I can't get out of boat.
[01:03:06] [SPEAKER_08]: I can't ride my motorcycle 100 miles an hour.
[01:03:08] [SPEAKER_08]: I can't go outside.
[01:03:11] [SPEAKER_05]: Yeah, there's there's there's there's a lot.
[01:03:16] [SPEAKER_05]: So I think it but I think it does.
[01:03:18] [SPEAKER_05]: It focuses on both. Yeah, it does a good job.
[01:03:20] [SPEAKER_05]: Some episodes are kind of more like relationship heavy.
[01:03:22] [SPEAKER_05]: Some episodes are more medical heavy.
[01:03:24] [SPEAKER_05]: Yeah. Yeah, that's it.
[01:03:28] [SPEAKER_08]: Well, obviously, you know, a journey we've been on you to.
[01:03:30] [SPEAKER_08]: I know this is beautiful.
[01:03:32] [SPEAKER_08]: Well, I love it.
[01:03:33] [SPEAKER_08]: And we all truly learned today how to save a podcast.
[01:03:40] [SPEAKER_06]: Oh, my God.
[01:03:42] [SPEAKER_06]: I should have the song cue and ready to go.
[01:03:44] [SPEAKER_08]: I feel like we're going to just going to be on YouTube.
[01:03:46] [SPEAKER_08]: So we are immediately getting a copyright stricken.
[01:03:49] [SPEAKER_08]: You media. Oh, my God.
[01:03:50] [SPEAKER_08]: So you just play it all in your heads.
[01:03:52] [SPEAKER_08]: Well, suffice it to say, Kelly, I think this will not be
[01:03:54] [SPEAKER_08]: the last time we'll talk to you because we definitely want to get a deeper dive
[01:03:57] [SPEAKER_08]: into like your own history with television.
[01:03:58] [SPEAKER_08]: Other stuff you watch outside grades, but this was an absolute delight.
[01:04:02] [SPEAKER_08]: Any other things you want to say?
[01:04:03] [SPEAKER_08]: Anything you want to plug for the listeners out there?
[01:04:06] [SPEAKER_05]: No, not at all.
[01:04:07] [SPEAKER_05]: Just this is really fun.
[01:04:08] [SPEAKER_05]: I appreciate you guys. Thank you.
[01:04:10] [SPEAKER_08]: We appreciate you. Of course.
[01:04:12] [SPEAKER_08]: What I will plug is that Kelly Wentworth made the Survivor 50
[01:04:16] [SPEAKER_08]: wish list top 20.
[01:04:17] [SPEAKER_08]: So congratulations to Kelly Wentworth.
[01:04:20] [SPEAKER_05]: Thank you. OK.
[01:04:22] [SPEAKER_05]: Listen, you know, you do one fan vote
[01:04:24] [SPEAKER_05]: and then you just get really good at it, I guess.
[01:04:28] [SPEAKER_08]: You're the chief of surgery of fan vote.
[01:04:31] [SPEAKER_05]: Exactly. Exactly.
[01:04:33] [SPEAKER_05]: Thank you very much. Thank you.
[01:04:35] [SPEAKER_05]: Yeah, that's that was fun that you that you did that, though.
[01:04:37] [SPEAKER_05]: Not to not to talk about Survivor, but I hope you had fun doing it.
[01:04:42] [SPEAKER_05]: Because yeah, yeah, that was cool.
[01:04:44] [SPEAKER_05]: Thank you. A lot of people, a lot of people.
[01:04:46] [SPEAKER_05]: A lot of people.
[01:04:47] [SPEAKER_04]: Listen, we were the survivors and what else?
[01:04:51] [SPEAKER_05]: Podcasts. I'm so sorry.
[01:04:53] [SPEAKER_04]: I'm so sorry. No, I love that is my favorite season.
[01:04:57] [SPEAKER_04]: Oh, wow. I will die.
[01:05:00] [SPEAKER_04]: OK, it does have a lot of, you know, thinking back.
[01:05:02] [SPEAKER_04]: I've won everyone back.
[01:05:04] [SPEAKER_04]: I don't care. Same people.
[01:05:06] [SPEAKER_05]: It is pretty ridiculous.
[01:05:08] [SPEAKER_05]: It really is when you think about it.
[01:05:10] [SPEAKER_04]: But if the Christie brothers aren't himbo's anymore,
[01:05:12] [SPEAKER_04]: I don't want it. You know what I'm saying?
[01:05:17] [SPEAKER_04]: If they have stems now, I don't want it.
[01:05:20] I don't want it.
[01:05:22] [SPEAKER_05]: Mm hmm. I'm just staying quiet over here.
[01:05:24] [SPEAKER_08]: There we go. Plead the faith, Kelly.
[01:05:27] [SPEAKER_08]: Sasha, anything you'd like to plug now that you are back
[01:05:29] [SPEAKER_08]: in the swing of things officially behind the microphone once more?
[01:05:33] [SPEAKER_04]: Shout out to all my co-hosts.
[01:05:35] [SPEAKER_04]: They're killing it. OK.
[01:05:36] [SPEAKER_04]: While I was up and out. But yes, we're killing it like that.
[01:05:40] [SPEAKER_08]: Doctor with Derek in the bad hospital.
[01:05:44] [SPEAKER_05]: Oh, my. Those are fake words.
[01:05:46] [SPEAKER_05]: Oh, oh, I'm going to cry in the corner now.
[01:05:49] [SPEAKER_08]: I have a new
[01:05:52] [SPEAKER_08]: who knows new slew of references I could use whatever I want to.
[01:05:55] [SPEAKER_08]: Thank you for that.
[01:05:57] [SPEAKER_04]: You're welcome. Oh, my God.
[01:05:59] [SPEAKER_04]: I cannot. But yes, listen, if you want to get caught up
[01:06:02] [SPEAKER_04]: with pop culture, you want to know why something's trending.
[01:06:05] [SPEAKER_04]: You need to check out mess magnets where Kirsten McHenness and me.
[01:06:09] [SPEAKER_04]: But you honestly would guess for these past three weeks
[01:06:11] [SPEAKER_04]: have been talking everything that's trending.
[01:06:14] [SPEAKER_04]: And listen, I can't wait to be back because there's a dagger wedding
[01:06:18] [SPEAKER_04]: that just happened and I'm obsessed.
[01:06:21] [SPEAKER_04]: So can't wait.
[01:06:22] [SPEAKER_04]: Check out Rob is a website slash Mast feed.
[01:06:25] [SPEAKER_04]: And of course, Chappelle is killing it with below deck.
[01:06:28] [SPEAKER_04]: So we had Bowie Jane was on to talk below deck.
[01:06:32] [SPEAKER_04]: She watched below.
[01:06:33] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, so we Jane come and talk about this.
[01:06:36] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah. She said I did.
[01:06:38] [SPEAKER_04]: She told Rob, I didn't know he watched it.
[01:06:40] [SPEAKER_04]: Can I come on and talk about it?
[01:06:41] [SPEAKER_04]: So obviously, but we but we Jane was on.
[01:06:44] [SPEAKER_04]: So check out below deck on the Rob is a podcast YouTube channel

[01:06:50] [SPEAKER_04]: Just follow me on Twitter at fun size underscore.
[01:06:52] [SPEAKER_04]: Oh, for what about you, Mike?
[01:06:54] [SPEAKER_08]: Yeah. Usual reality TV beats mentioned the wishlist,
[01:06:58] [SPEAKER_08]: which has come to a big close this past week covering Big Brother,
[01:07:02] [SPEAKER_08]: covering the challenge and look, the Survivor 47 cast
[01:07:05] [SPEAKER_08]: will show up at some point, a new group
[01:07:08] [SPEAKER_08]: bringing in a new class of interns, if you will, into the Fijian hospital.
[01:07:12] [SPEAKER_08]: And I got the chance to sit down with them all and talk to them before the season.
[01:07:16] [SPEAKER_08]: And so whatever that cast drops, I'll have that readily available for you.
[01:07:20] [SPEAKER_08]: So keep your ears to the ground and make sure you stay tuned to TV for real.
[01:07:25] [SPEAKER_08]: As next week, Sasha and I will be back with another reality star
[01:07:28] [SPEAKER_08]: talking and their scripted TV taste.
[01:07:30] [SPEAKER_08]: Thank you all so much for listening. Kelly, thank you so much again.
[01:07:33] [SPEAKER_08]: This was an absolute delight.
[01:07:35] [SPEAKER_08]: We'll be back next week. Until then, everybody.
[01:07:38] [SPEAKER_08]: It's been real.
