[00:04:43] Kenzie and Liz clearly did an amazing job and making him as well as Maria feel comfortable

[00:04:47] with that.

[00:04:47] So I think that just goes to show Kenzie and Liz's prowess in that moment in time for that

[00:04:52] afternoon.

[00:05:06] OK, this was such an interesting episode before this tribal council because we really had

[00:05:13] it was Maria is coming for Charlie.

[00:05:17] Charlie is coming for Maria and they're both talking about I can't believe it, my friend.

[00:05:24] I have to go after them.

[00:05:26] They both both of them don't think the other one it's coming.

[00:05:31] This was beautiful.

[00:05:33] You know what it reminded me of, Rob?

[00:05:35] In the merge vote of Ghost Island when there's Dominic Abate, Chris Noble, Dominic Abate,

[00:05:40] Chris Noble.

[00:05:40] Yeah, that's what it felt like to me.

[00:05:43] But to happen at this point in the game, it's.

[00:05:47] It's so interesting because I mean, clearly, Charlie and Maria both playing amazing games,

[00:05:51] I think both of them have a good amount of win equity and in that I feel like they could

[00:05:55] sit next to a couple different people.

[00:05:58] They I mean, as Charlie pointed out, options is the name of the game, and I think that's

[00:06:01] really important going into a final tribal.

[00:06:03] And both of them looks like they have both of them look like they have options coming

[00:06:09] into the episode.

[00:06:09] Unfortunately, I think Maria may have left the episode with less options going into final

[00:06:14] five.

[00:06:15] But.

[00:06:17] Clearly that just their power dynamic is just so interesting because they're not wrong.

[00:06:20] They have Malcolm Dundee Denise this season.

[00:06:23] It felt like there really wasn't anything that one knew that the other didn't know until

[00:06:29] we saw that moment.

[00:06:30] Like it was so good.

[00:06:31] Marie didn't even say anything.

[00:06:33] But I really felt the weight of where I was worried about people looking back here for

[00:06:37] idols.

[00:06:38] Maria is just like, yep.

[00:06:40] Like you, I felt it in that silence right there.

[00:06:42] It's like, wow, this is the turning point right there, even though you like already talked

[00:06:46] about previously at the reward.

[00:06:48] But it's like, OK, they both made the decision.

[00:06:52] Yeah, the conversation with one another and I would say that for both of them, it was

[00:06:58] stilted and awkward and obviously something had changed, but not so much so that either

[00:07:04] one picked up on, hey, is Charlie voting for me tonight?

[00:07:09] Is a boy Charlie's being weird or Charlie doesn't say Maria's acting strange.

[00:07:14] Maria is that I think that both of them were just so wrapped up in their own like heaviness

[00:07:21] of having to do what they had to do that they really weren't picking up on the cues that

[00:07:27] were giving each other that something has changed in this relationship.

[00:07:30] It's very stilted now.

[00:07:32] Yeah, Rob, I think you're right, because even in their conversations like it's not.

[00:07:37] It didn't feel as fluid.

[00:07:38] It felt more choppy and I don't know if they picked up on that.

[00:07:41] I mean, at a certain point they may have and maybe that was just their own uncomfortability

[00:07:46] in terms of lying to one another.

[00:07:48] Like you even hear Charlie talk about you felt that weight lying to Maria.

[00:07:51] Yeah, but.

[00:07:54] Yeah, it was it was so different, but I think what I really what I really think benefited

[00:08:01] the Charlie side of it and I think was the moment where Ben Kenzie and Charlie abide well

[00:08:09] and Ben makes the point that you Maria not going to think we're working together.

[00:08:13] We just voted against each other.

[00:08:15] They just had a conversation on the beach that doesn't that didn't go amazing like

[00:08:19] it wasn't a brawl, but you know, they definitely didn't look to be on the same page.

[00:08:24] And then again, to Kenzie's credit, she brought it up again in travel council.

[00:08:28] And I think that would probably make you feel even more comfortable.

[00:08:31] Yeah, and they didn't even know that Q had the idol.

[00:08:33] I mean, there was no need to lull him into the false sense of security.

[00:08:38] I guess it's unclear whether or not they knew that Venus had anything that for all they

[00:08:45] know, Venus could have been bluffing potentially about having something Maria did not let out.

[00:08:50] I don't believe that Q had something.

[00:08:53] So maybe they thought that there was a possibility that Q could have something.

[00:08:57] And want to lull him into a false sense of security.

[00:09:00] Jake, something I was wondering watching the episode when the tribal council seems so light

[00:09:08] hearted and they were talking about it seemed like this was kind of like everybody was having

[00:09:12] fun.

[00:09:14] Does that is that like a cover for when the tribe is about to pull something off?

[00:09:21] Like, I kind of feel like that it's and I don't watch as many police interrogations as Jeff

[00:09:26] Probst does.

[00:09:26] But when you're trying to keep it light and jovial, I almost feel like that, oh, something's

[00:09:33] definitely up.

[00:09:34] Like somebody's getting played tonight.

[00:09:37] Yeah, I mean, in this kind of circumstance, I think it kind of puts a blanket over the

[00:09:43] whole tribe.

[00:09:44] Someone's getting lied to.

[00:09:46] But if everyone feels like they're in on the joke or in on the thing, they feel OK.

[00:09:50] I mean, I remember when in my season.

[00:09:56] It was I believe Julie got was getting go to play the idol and Emily went home.

[00:10:02] But like that was the vote where.

[00:10:06] No, excuse me, this was the vote where drew where drew went home, but we were like joking

[00:10:11] about, oh, we were babysitting Julie.

[00:10:14] You know, I was babysat, but at the time, like, I don't know, you know, and so we were

[00:10:18] joking about, you know, letting her stay at like that.

[00:10:20] And I do think it's like there does kind of create some relaxation with the target.

[00:10:25] Yeah, if you're able to joke around with them in tribal.

[00:10:28] And I think that where if this whole thing was to make you feel more comfortable, I mean,

[00:10:35] he's already doing the Q skirt.

[00:10:36] If they did like the whole kind of get up party thing and made it more jovial to make

[00:10:40] him feel comfortable, he could also probably feel like he's leading it.

[00:10:43] So it's not even like, yeah, you have to do much work to convince him to get there.

[00:10:47] I mean, we don't know the entire dynamics, but that's just my initial thoughts.

[00:10:50] Because, Jake, when you're like yucking it up with Jeff, you're not getting questions

[00:10:56] from Jeff that are sort of like no pun intended, probing questions that are going to potentially

[00:11:03] undo what you have planned.

[00:11:05] If you are a person planning a blindside, the best thing that could happen is, you know,

[00:11:10] we get on, we're we're joking.

[00:11:13] Oh, Ben voted for Kenzie by accident.

[00:11:32] I mean, yeah, it's one of those things where you really have to calm the nerves because

[00:11:36] there is like, OK, is someone going to play an idol?

[00:11:39] Is someone going to get spooked?

[00:11:41] So, I mean, there is kind of an extent like you want to lull the nerves, but the longer

[00:11:45] it goes, the more opportunity is there for someone to change their mind and make that

[00:11:48] move that you don't want them to make.

[00:11:50] So, I mean, it's kind of a double edged sword in that regard.

[00:11:53] It's just more I think it more most depends on the person that you're blindsiding.

[00:11:59] Obviously, I don't I don't think people other than Maria knew about the idol or at

[00:12:03] least we didn't see anything, but.

[00:12:06] For Q, would he be a straight to business?

[00:12:09] Like, how do you love you like that?

[00:12:10] Well, is he a straight to business guy or is he someone it's like, hey, we're all good

[00:12:15] here's what's going on.

[00:12:16] Jake, the way I look at it is either Jeff could drive the tribal council or I could

[00:12:21] drive the tribal council.

[00:12:22] And, you know, if we're like like, OK, we're coming in with material, you know, we're going

[00:12:27] to like we got like what, 45 minutes to kill here.

[00:12:31] So let's let's get into like bring up all the sort of wacky stuff that's going on back

[00:12:36] at camp and let's have more of that and less of, you know, Jeff talking about.

[00:12:41] So what's really going on here?

[00:12:43] Who's really who's really working together?

[00:12:47] And I think it's how to be a tribal council is being able able to answer Jeff.

[00:12:52] Jeff, reassure the people that you're with and make the other people, you know, the people

[00:12:57] you're going after also reassured that it's not them.

[00:13:00] So it's so it's definitely a balancing act.

[00:13:02] I mean, I think the issue, yeah, you can try to joke around and that can help.

[00:13:05] But at a certain point, Jeff will cut you off.

[00:13:07] Jeff will say, but like, seriously, this is a game for a million dollars.

[00:13:12] This isn't all laugh like jokes and games.

[00:13:14] Like, oh, really?

[00:13:18] I feel like he does cut it off at a certain point, and we didn't really see it too much

[00:13:22] But I do feel like this is a game for a million dollars.

[00:13:26] One in five people are going home tonight.

[00:13:29] That's a big deal.

[00:13:30] You know, and at a certain point, I feel like if you play that game too much, Jeff is going

[00:13:34] to come in and stop being like, look, so I think you do have to be ready to answer those

[00:13:38] serious questions and bring it back.

[00:13:40] So I think you have to be well equipped to perform with both.

[00:13:44] If Jeff is going to allow you to play that game and joke in a tribal and, you know, hamming

[00:13:48] it up with people, just be ready to switch it off if he's going to put you on the spot

[00:13:53] like that.

[00:13:55] I have a big question for you tonight, Jake.

[00:13:57] So did Kenzie or Liz tell Charlie, hey, Maria's trying to get everybody to vote you out?

[00:14:13] I would think that they did right because they want Maria to go next.

[00:14:17] And I think for them, they might be thinking, let's kick Maria down a little bit more because

[00:14:22] Maria after tonight is definitely she's been in a dominant position.

[00:14:29] And now this is the first time we kind of see Maria is definitely on the back foot.

[00:14:36] So now I think the move might have been to not tell Charlie.

[00:14:41] But I also think that there is an argument to be made of ensuring that Maria is still

[00:14:48] the next to go and making Charlie comfortable because Charlie, Maria do have that previous

[00:14:52] relationship and there is a concern about it being rekindled.

[00:14:56] So that's also probably going through their mind.

[00:15:02] I think the move is so right now looking at the game, look at it.

[00:17:34] about getting rid of Charlie was after she didn't go on this reward.

[00:17:51] And then like four, you have to force always going to be some kind of roll of the dice

[00:17:58] But I think because what changed from the last vote?

[00:18:27] The soda vote that we kind of saw them not being able to see eye to eye on some things.

[00:18:32] So I mean, looking at that situation and with Maria's kind of mindset, that may have not

[00:18:38] been an option for her moving forward based on what we saw.

[00:18:42] So I think, you know what she may have been thinking and what I think that is not an

[00:18:46] option for her.
