Exit Interview: Sixth Player Voted Out Survivor 47

Rob Cesternino interviews the sixth castaway eliminated from Survivor 47.

[00:00:00] [SPEAKER_03]: Hey everybody, what's going on? Rob Cesternino back for a Survivor Exit Interview here. It's going to be a good one here today as we're going to talk about a person who was at the center of everything last night. That is Rome, who ended up having a very memorable exit from the show on Episode 6 of Survivor 47. Rome will be here with us in just a moment. Then we'll play a little This Week in Survivor History with Jordan Kalish.

[00:00:29] [SPEAKER_03]: Last night, we had a great podcast. Franny Marin joined me for an amazing recap of the episode. Franny is so good in that spot. I really think you should check out that podcast if you missed it, of course, in the podcast feed and up on YouTube.

[00:00:44] [SPEAKER_03]: And then today, I will be with Steven Fishback for our Survivor Know-It-Alls at 3. And then tomorrow at 3 Eastern, I'll be taking patron calls on our weekly patron Q&A, which you can get access to at robiswebsite.com slash patron.

[00:00:58] [SPEAKER_03]: I see that we have Rome on the line. Let's go ahead and bring him in. Hey, Rome, good morning. Rob Cesternino, an honor to be here with perhaps the future host of the On Fire podcast and Survivor at Large. Rome, how are you?

[00:01:15] [SPEAKER_01]: Doing good, man. Doing good. You know, it was a wild episode last night and, you know, I'm doing as good as good as you can be, I guess.

[00:01:22] [SPEAKER_03]: Okay, so Rome, it was a historic tribal council. You got to take over for Jeff. Nobody's ever done that before. At any point during that tribal council, did you get tipped off to what was ultimately going to happen that night?

[00:01:37] [SPEAKER_01]: I mean, I was more tipped off before tribal than at tribal itself of what was going to happen.

[00:01:41] [SPEAKER_01]: I knew that there was pretty much going to be a 25% chance that it was going to be me that night.

[00:01:45] [SPEAKER_01]: I knew that it's not like it was a straight up blindside. You can even see my reaction when my name started popping up.

[00:01:50] [SPEAKER_01]: It wasn't like, what? It's me. It was, why is it me?

[00:01:53] [SPEAKER_01]: It was more like confusion. Like, why did none of y'all want to keep me around as a shield when I came and told a lot of y'all information that was the truth?

[00:02:00] [SPEAKER_01]: It was a lot of confusion because it's like when you tell so many people the truth, you expect like, hey, those people might want to keep you around.

[00:02:06] [SPEAKER_01]: If you're going to tell me the truth once, you might tell me the truth again.

[00:02:08] [SPEAKER_01]: You might tell me, you know, this person's gunning for you and things like that.

[00:02:11] [SPEAKER_01]: But it ended up backfiring and it hit a 360 effect instead.

[00:02:15] [SPEAKER_01]: So it was mainly before tribal where I'm throwing out Saul's name.

[00:02:19] [SPEAKER_01]: I knew Kyle was immune who I had just put a target on and nobody else is throwing out a name aside from Saul.

[00:02:24] [SPEAKER_01]: So it was pretty much like, okay, if there's no other name getting thrown around, there's a good chance that it might be you if it's not the name that you're putting out there.

[00:02:29] [SPEAKER_01]: So I knew there was a good chance that it was going to be me.

[00:02:32] [SPEAKER_01]: I had my shot in the dark in my sock when I went up to vote.

[00:02:35] [SPEAKER_01]: But I knew that, hey, listen, if I play my shot in the dark, even if it hits, if all these people want me out the game, guess what?

[00:02:40] [SPEAKER_01]: It's going to be like Caleb. I'm going to go home next anyway.

[00:02:43] [SPEAKER_01]: You know, so it is what it is.

[00:02:44] [SPEAKER_01]: So I knew that, hey, listen, I'd rather, you know, use my vote and potentially cause some chaos and hope that I stick around with voting for Sam instead of instead of, you know, playing my shot in the dark and hoping that I last another day.

[00:02:55] [SPEAKER_03]: So, yeah. In the last episode, it seemed like that you and Saul seem to have had some good, productive conversations.

[00:03:03] [SPEAKER_03]: Why throw out Saul's name here once you get to the merge?

[00:03:06] [SPEAKER_01]: Because at this point, I knew that Saul was the only person in the game that 100% wouldn't vote for me if we if I made it to the final three.

[00:03:12] [SPEAKER_01]: And, you know, that was that was the main reason. I pretty much said that at day three.

[00:03:15] [SPEAKER_01]: That's why I was like, you know what, Saul, I would rather have Saul go home.

[00:03:18] [SPEAKER_01]: You know, Asia, it's fine if she goes home, but like, I'd rather have Saul go home because I know that Saul isn't going to put a vote on me right now.

[00:03:24] [SPEAKER_01]: I was already thinking of jury management at like top 17, which might have been a little bit of an issue.

[00:03:29] [SPEAKER_01]: But, you know, I was already thinking about that. So that's why I was like, you know, if it can't be Kyle, I might as well throw out Saul's name.

[00:03:33] [SPEAKER_01]: Like people finally were able to see the challenge. Like when Saul was like, was like, Jeff, are we allowed to swap out and things like that?

[00:03:38] [SPEAKER_01]: When you know you're not allowed to swap out, Jeff makes it very clear, like at no challenge in any immunity challenge during the team portion, are you able to swap out?

[00:03:47] [SPEAKER_01]: So everyone that's like, oh, Rome, why didn't you swap out when Saul asked? We're not allowed to.

[00:03:51] [SPEAKER_01]: So like, I don't even know why he was asking, but like it is what it is.

[00:03:54] [SPEAKER_01]: So everyone was able to see Saul, like, you know, kind of put me down in the moment while I'm trying to solve and clutch it up and be like, are we allowed to swap out?

[00:04:00] [SPEAKER_01]: Like while you're doing that in the moment of no food in the like, that is one of the most demoralizing things to hear is your tribe mate pretty much saying like, I don't believe in you in the moment.

[00:04:08] [SPEAKER_01]: So I pretty much like use that, which Saul had done in that immunity challenge, in the previous immunity challenge on the on the puzzle as well.

[00:04:16] [SPEAKER_01]: You know, I pretty much use that to talk with other people and try to get people to be down to vote for Saul because of the way they saw him treat me at the immunity challenge.

[00:04:23] [SPEAKER_01]: And it ended up not working out mainly because, you know, Kyle wanted immunity and he was able to rally the troops around like and say like, hey, what Rome said that I said wasn't true, even though it was.

[00:04:33] [SPEAKER_01]: And so, yeah, I think that was just that was just a little bit of a mistake for my end.

[00:04:37] [SPEAKER_03]: Can you talk us through what were you going for?

[00:04:39] [SPEAKER_03]: You had the conversation with Kyle and he did give you a lot of information to go around and then to start telling everybody what Kyle had said.

[00:04:46] [SPEAKER_03]: What were you hoping to have happen?

[00:04:49] [SPEAKER_01]: So long story short, Kyle told me all these things and I was like, OK, this is cool.

[00:04:53] [SPEAKER_01]: I'm on board with this.

[00:04:54] [SPEAKER_01]: Like you said, Sam and Tiana, the big threats that he wants to get out of the game.

[00:04:57] [SPEAKER_01]: I was like, cool.

[00:04:58] [SPEAKER_01]: Sam's his target.

[00:04:59] [SPEAKER_01]: Number one.

[00:04:59] [SPEAKER_01]: I was like, awesome.

[00:05:00] [SPEAKER_01]: That's my target.

[00:05:00] [SPEAKER_01]: Number one.

[00:05:01] [SPEAKER_01]: I was like, this guy, he's talking, making nice with everybody at the merge.

[00:05:04] [SPEAKER_01]: So I was like, OK, like, you know, me and Kyle are on the same page.

[00:05:07] [SPEAKER_01]: Then Kyle said something about Sue and Caroline that was outside of the game.

[00:05:18] [SPEAKER_01]: So that's why Sue and Caroline were so angry at Kyle because of what he said.

[00:05:22] [SPEAKER_01]: So if they ever want to divulge in that or if anyone wants to divulge in that, I'll let them.

[00:05:25] [SPEAKER_01]: I'm not going to be the one to do it because didn't make that it was outside the game.

[00:05:27] [SPEAKER_01]: But that was the reason why I pretty much was like, no, I'm not going to work with you.

[00:05:30] [SPEAKER_01]: Like you said that I'm not working with someone like that.

[00:05:32] [SPEAKER_01]: Like I'd never host another anything again if I ever said that about someone.

[00:05:35] [SPEAKER_01]: So I was like, nope, can't do it.

[00:05:36] [SPEAKER_01]: So I was like, nope, go into Sue and Caroline.

[00:05:38] [SPEAKER_01]: I'd rather work with you guys than try to target you guys with Kyle.

[00:05:41] [SPEAKER_01]: So that was truly it.

[00:05:42] [SPEAKER_01]: It was a it was a straight up personal thing for me.

[00:05:43] [SPEAKER_01]: I would have worked with Kyle.

[00:05:44] [SPEAKER_01]: But once he said what he said, I wasn't going to work with him anymore.

[00:05:47] [SPEAKER_03]: OK, Rome, looking back at your game, I know you're an astute commentator.

[00:05:53] [SPEAKER_03]: Is there anything that you feel like that you should have been doing differently?

[00:05:59] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I feel like I feel like honestly, the biggest thing that I should have done was be quiet when you hit the merge.

[00:06:06] [SPEAKER_01]: Like everyone knows.

[00:06:07] [SPEAKER_01]: And it's so funny because I said in a confessional, too, it doesn't make I said, OK, I'm at the merge.

[00:06:11] [SPEAKER_01]: Now is where you need to do nothing to get past the first vote.

[00:06:13] [SPEAKER_01]: And I was just straight up even said, like, it's going to be hard for me to do nothing because, like, it's just very hard.

[00:06:19] [SPEAKER_01]: You know, I got undiagnosed ADHD.

[00:06:20] [SPEAKER_01]: You don't got to you don't got to tell me I got it.

[00:06:22] [SPEAKER_01]: I know I got it.

[00:06:23] [SPEAKER_01]: You know what I'm saying?

[00:06:23] [SPEAKER_01]: So it's like it's very hard for me to sit still and not not be able to do anything.

[00:06:27] [SPEAKER_01]: So that was definitely my biggest flaw, in my opinion, at the merge was was pretty much just not being quiet and just just letting letting the chips fall as they may.

[00:06:36] [SPEAKER_01]: So, yeah.

[00:06:37] [SPEAKER_01]: But when it came to the pre-merge, I know it wasn't shown.

[00:06:39] [SPEAKER_01]: I had a super strong alliance from day one.

[00:06:41] [SPEAKER_01]: Literally, Asia went on the journey and you hear me in a confessional say that was a big mistake.

[00:06:45] [SPEAKER_01]: We hit the beach.

[00:06:46] [SPEAKER_01]: We make a four person alliance with me, Teenie, Genevieve and Keyshawn before Asia even got back.

[00:06:50] [SPEAKER_01]: So I straight up told my alliance within the first 10 minutes of us being on the beach.

[00:06:53] [SPEAKER_01]: Hey, guys, I'm going to go look for the idol so that so that Asia and Saul don't have it.

[00:06:58] [SPEAKER_01]: So all all my alliance members were like, awesome, go look for it.

[00:07:00] [SPEAKER_01]: This is perfect.

[00:07:01] [SPEAKER_01]: So then I start going to look for the idol.

[00:07:03] [SPEAKER_01]: That's why I was able to find it day one, because I had so much free time because my alliance was covering for me.

[00:07:06] [SPEAKER_01]: So I think it was really interesting how they didn't show that alliance at all.

[00:07:09] [SPEAKER_01]: But if you always look at who's calling me out, who's like, oh, man, Rome's gone.

[00:07:12] [SPEAKER_01]: Where's Rome at?

[00:07:13] [SPEAKER_01]: Things like that.

[00:07:14] [SPEAKER_01]: It's always Asia and Saul.

[00:07:15] [SPEAKER_01]: It's never Teenie and Keyshawn and Genevieve, the ones calling me out and being like, man, where's Rome at?

[00:07:20] [SPEAKER_01]: Rome's been gone a while.

[00:07:21] [SPEAKER_01]: It's no, it's Teenie being like, for real?

[00:07:23] [SPEAKER_01]: Rome's been gone a while?

[00:07:24] [SPEAKER_01]: Like, it's pretty obvious that she's covering for me if you watch it back.

[00:07:26] [SPEAKER_01]: But it would have made the Asia vote very freaking boring if if they would have shown that we had the four cheese pizza alliance, which was our name.

[00:07:33] [SPEAKER_01]: We had an alliance name and everything.

[00:07:35] [SPEAKER_01]: I was cheddar.

[00:07:36] [SPEAKER_01]: I think Keyshawn was mozzarella.

[00:07:38] [SPEAKER_01]: Genevieve was provolone and Teenie was Parmesan.

[00:07:41] [SPEAKER_01]: Right.

[00:07:41] [SPEAKER_01]: It's like we had we had a four cheese pizza alliance.

[00:07:43] [SPEAKER_01]: It lasted up until the Keyshawn vote.

[00:07:45] [SPEAKER_01]: But yeah, we had a name for it and everything.

[00:07:46] [SPEAKER_01]: So it would have been a very boring first boot.

[00:07:48] [SPEAKER_01]: And that's why when you see me going to Saul on the first boot and kind of being like, yeah, so everyone's going to be writing down Asia.

[00:07:53] [SPEAKER_01]: And he's like, bro, it's only been 30 minutes.

[00:07:55] [SPEAKER_01]: And I'm like, yeah, that's all it took.

[00:07:57] [SPEAKER_01]: Like, that's a long time to talk about deciding between two people.

[00:08:00] [SPEAKER_01]: And it's funny because everyone's like, man, Rome was lying to Saul in that moment.

[00:08:02] [SPEAKER_01]: I was literally telling him the truth.

[00:08:04] [SPEAKER_01]: So it's just funny how like people can perceive me like lying to someone.

[00:08:07] [SPEAKER_01]: And I was like straight up just telling him what was going to happen that night.

[00:08:09] [SPEAKER_01]: So it was a very cut and dry vote.

[00:08:10] [SPEAKER_03]: Let's go back to this last vote.

[00:08:12] [SPEAKER_03]: So what went wrong with two of the cheeses knew what was going on, but then didn't loop you into the vote?

[00:08:18] [SPEAKER_03]: Do you have any hard feelings towards Teenie or Genevieve for not working harder to save you?

[00:08:24] [SPEAKER_01]: If they would have been immune, I might feel some type of way.

[00:08:26] [SPEAKER_01]: But honestly, no, like that's the thing about there being 12 people that are eligible to be voted out is that nobody wants to make a move.

[00:08:32] [SPEAKER_01]: And that's kind of the issue with it.

[00:08:33] [SPEAKER_01]: And I mean, Jeff talked about it on his podcast last night.

[00:08:35] [SPEAKER_01]: So he said he's not a fan of this many people being immune because it creates cagey gameplay.

[00:08:40] [SPEAKER_01]: And that's kind of what happened.

[00:08:41] [SPEAKER_01]: Like you saw it happen.

[00:08:42] [SPEAKER_01]: There wasn't really another story to tell other than it's going to be Rome tonight.

[00:08:45] [SPEAKER_01]: That's why it was so obvious that it's going to be Rome tonight because everyone's playing cagey.

[00:08:49] [SPEAKER_01]: No one really wanted to make a move.

[00:08:50] [SPEAKER_01]: But if Genevieve and Teenie win immunity on that half, then maybe they let me know because they know it can't come back to backfire on them in the moment.

[00:08:57] [SPEAKER_01]: So I don't have any hard feelings against them.

[00:08:59] [SPEAKER_01]: It's a game at the end of the day.

[00:09:00] [SPEAKER_01]: They did what they felt was best in the moment for their game.

[00:09:02] [SPEAKER_01]: And, you know, we just got to wait and see how it all plays out for him.

[00:09:05] [SPEAKER_03]: Rom, there's a secret scene this week where you kind of like Bruce in Survivor 45 decided, hey, I'm not going to go look for this advantage.

[00:09:13] [SPEAKER_03]: Everybody else can go look for the advantage.

[00:09:14] [SPEAKER_03]: I'm not looking for it.

[00:09:15] [SPEAKER_03]: And you had looked so much for advantages earlier in the game.

[00:09:18] [SPEAKER_03]: Why did you change your strategy about the advantages around this one?

[00:09:23] [SPEAKER_01]: Mainly because, like I said, when you hit the merge, it's almost a brand new game.

[00:09:26] [SPEAKER_01]: So, like, you know, you don't want to put a target on your back.

[00:09:28] [SPEAKER_01]: I already know that Teenie went on a couple of went on a journey and also went on a hot dog reward.

[00:09:32] [SPEAKER_01]: So I know regardless of what Teenie said, I know that she was talking about what was going down in Lavo.

[00:09:36] [SPEAKER_01]: So I'm sitting here like, OK, they're probably going to think I'm chaotic.

[00:09:38] [SPEAKER_01]: So if I'm out here looking for advantages and out hard idol hunting and things like that, people are going to be like, man, this Rome guy is exactly what Teenie talked about or exactly what we expected.

[00:09:48] [SPEAKER_01]: So I was like, you know what?

[00:09:49] [SPEAKER_01]: Let me not do that.

[00:09:50] [SPEAKER_01]: Let me chill.

[00:09:50] [SPEAKER_01]: Talk with Caroline.

[00:09:51] [SPEAKER_01]: You know, make a connection.

[00:09:52] [SPEAKER_01]: You know, make alliances.

[00:09:54] [SPEAKER_01]: Make relationships.

[00:09:55] [SPEAKER_01]: And I was able to do that.

[00:09:56] [SPEAKER_01]: You know, I was able to talk with a lot of people and a lot of people felt good about working with me.

[00:10:01] [SPEAKER_01]: It was just how the chips fell about 24 hours later that things didn't work out.

[00:10:06] [SPEAKER_03]: The puzzle from a couple of weeks ago, just want to confirm that was not a throw.

[00:10:11] [SPEAKER_01]: Not a throw.

[00:10:12] [SPEAKER_01]: We all sucked at puzzles.

[00:10:13] [SPEAKER_01]: I don't know why.

[00:10:13] [SPEAKER_01]: I said it during casting.

[00:10:14] [SPEAKER_01]: I was like, I suck at puzzles, Jeff.

[00:10:16] [SPEAKER_01]: But one person on my tribe that's good at puzzles, no one on our tribe was confident in puzzles.

[00:10:19] [SPEAKER_01]: Not Asia, not Keyshawn, not Teenie, not Genevieve, not Saul.

[00:10:22] [SPEAKER_01]: Not one person was confident in those type of puzzles.

[00:10:24] [SPEAKER_01]: We walked into the challenge 24 hours after failing at this puzzle miserably.

[00:10:27] [SPEAKER_01]: We see the exact same type of puzzle and we all go, oh, it's over.

[00:10:30] [SPEAKER_01]: We all instantly knew before we even started that challenge that it was over.

[00:10:33] [SPEAKER_01]: We were like, we all suck at these type of puzzles.

[00:10:34] [SPEAKER_01]: So we all said like, Keyshawn, you want to do it?

[00:10:36] [SPEAKER_01]: You did it yesterday.

[00:10:37] [SPEAKER_01]: Keyshawn was like, no, I just failed yesterday.

[00:10:38] [SPEAKER_01]: We only got three pieces.

[00:10:39] [SPEAKER_01]: We asked Saul.

[00:10:40] [SPEAKER_01]: Saul, you want to do it?

[00:10:41] [SPEAKER_01]: Saul's like, no, I'm bad at puzzles.

[00:10:42] [SPEAKER_01]: Teenie, you want to do it?

[00:10:42] [SPEAKER_01]: No, I'm bad at puzzles.

[00:10:43] [SPEAKER_01]: So there's just me and Genevieve and I'm like.

[00:10:45] [SPEAKER_03]: Let's skip to the table maze then.

[00:10:46] [SPEAKER_03]: So what was the issue with the table maze?

[00:10:48] [SPEAKER_03]: Was it you or Gabe?

[00:10:49] [SPEAKER_03]: Who was the problem on the table maze?

[00:10:51] [SPEAKER_01]: Gabe, I mean, if you look at it, we got to the very end like five times.

[00:10:54] [SPEAKER_01]: And at the end of the table maze, it's up to the person on the right side to yank it and lift it up so that the ball falls in.

[00:11:01] [SPEAKER_01]: You can watch Charlie do it on season 46 on his immunity challenge.

[00:11:04] [SPEAKER_01]: You can watch even Sam do it on his in this episode.

[00:11:07] [SPEAKER_01]: Sam clearly hard lifted up and Gabe never hard lifted up.

[00:11:09] [SPEAKER_01]: He always let it roll to the side.

[00:11:11] [SPEAKER_01]: So we literally got it to the middle so many times and just weren't able to clutch it up.

[00:11:15] [SPEAKER_01]: Mainly because of what happened on that side, which was the ending side.

[00:11:18] [SPEAKER_01]: So I can't control what happens on that side of the board.

[00:11:20] [SPEAKER_03]: In the preseason, you spoke with Mike Bloom before the game started.

[00:11:24] [SPEAKER_03]: You told Mike Bloom that you had a move up your sleeve that was going to change the game of Survivor.

[00:11:30] [SPEAKER_03]: A move that even your fiance said, are you allowed to do that?

[00:11:34] [SPEAKER_03]: You said, well, there's no rule that says you're not allowed to do that.

[00:11:39] [SPEAKER_03]: Did we get to see that?

[00:11:41] [SPEAKER_03]: And if not, what was that move going to be?

[00:11:44] [SPEAKER_01]: I got to sit in Jeff's seat.

[00:11:46] [SPEAKER_01]: You didn't notice?

[00:11:46] [SPEAKER_01]: No, I'm just kidding.

[00:11:47] [SPEAKER_01]: No, I actually didn't get to do the big move.

[00:11:49] [SPEAKER_01]: The opportunity never came up.

[00:11:51] [SPEAKER_01]: It's a very specific opportunity, but it does happen quite a bit.

[00:11:53] [SPEAKER_01]: So who knows, man?

[00:11:55] [SPEAKER_01]: Who knows if I ever go up back out there, you know, maybe you're saving it for Survivor 50.

[00:12:00] [SPEAKER_01]: I don't know about 50, but we'll have to wait and see, man.

[00:12:03] [SPEAKER_03]: Saving it for Survivor Rome.

[00:12:05] [SPEAKER_01]: Survivor Rome.

[00:12:06] [SPEAKER_01]: There we go.

[00:12:06] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.

[00:12:07] [SPEAKER_03]: Rome, you talked about how you were in the running, hopefully to be the next host of the On Fire podcast.

[00:12:15] [SPEAKER_03]: What changes would you bring to the On Fire podcast?

[00:12:19] [SPEAKER_01]: I think I would bring a little bit of a different insight.

[00:12:22] [SPEAKER_01]: I don't know about changes I would bring because it's not my job to say what's supposed to change about it.

[00:12:25] [SPEAKER_01]: But I think that I would just bring a little bit of a different insight.

[00:12:27] [SPEAKER_01]: Obviously, you know, the last few people that have been there have at least made, you know, top four of the first three.

[00:12:33] [SPEAKER_01]: So having someone that, you know, did make it to the quote unquote merge.

[00:12:36] [SPEAKER_01]: I don't know if you're going to consider this a merge, but I see a lot of people online calling it a merge.

[00:12:40] [SPEAKER_03]: I feel like it was a merge.

[00:12:41] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.

[00:12:41] [SPEAKER_01]: So like essentially making it to the merge, like a lot of people are going to be like, hey, like, you know, you made it to the merge.

[00:12:45] [SPEAKER_01]: So you got to at least experience the full dynamic.

[00:12:47] [SPEAKER_01]: So you get to get to see someone that was playing probably one of the hardest games that we've seen play in the pre-merge and make it through the pre-merge to be able to live on a beach with everyone and at least get through that portion of the game.

[00:12:57] [SPEAKER_01]: So I think it would be interesting to get that perspective from someone, because right now all the people that have kind of that have been on the podcast right now have went hard at the end of the game, not really the beginning.

[00:13:06] [SPEAKER_01]: So I think it would be definitely an interesting perspective to have a change up.

[00:13:10] [SPEAKER_03]: I would love to get your insight on some of the other players that we haven't gotten to hear you talk about yet.

[00:13:16] [SPEAKER_03]: But I know we're running out of time that do you think that you might be able to give us some of those thoughts in a freestyle rap?

[00:13:25] [SPEAKER_01]: In a freestyle rap. Oh, my gosh. Freestyle rap would be crazy.

[00:13:29] [SPEAKER_01]: You know, Sierra, when I first met her, she was really vibrant.

[00:13:32] [SPEAKER_01]: You know, it was really cool to go and meet her on the island.

[00:13:34] [SPEAKER_01]: And when it comes to Tiana, you can tell she's really driven.

[00:13:37] [SPEAKER_01]: I don't really know if she's going to win. Who knows? Some feel like it's a given.

[00:13:41] [SPEAKER_01]: And then we got Annika. People can tell that she's a leader.

[00:13:44] [SPEAKER_01]: I don't know. It didn't look like she had a lot of food. Somebody go ahead and feed her.

[00:13:47] [SPEAKER_01]: Then we got Keyshawn. The dude was delightful. I don't know.

[00:13:50] [SPEAKER_01]: He seemed pretty freaking insightful.

[00:13:52] [SPEAKER_01]: At the end of the day, Asia seemed a little sullen.

[00:13:54] [SPEAKER_01]: It was kind of dull in her vote out, but it is what it is.

[00:13:57] [SPEAKER_01]: And, you know, TK, the dude was absolutely lovable.

[00:14:02] [SPEAKER_01]: When I saw him at Ponderosa, he was extremely huggable.

[00:14:05] [SPEAKER_01]: Then we come to John. The dude was hilarious.

[00:14:08] [SPEAKER_01]: You know, the way that he played the game was very vicarious.

[00:14:11] [SPEAKER_01]: Then we come to Rachel. She was super down to earth.

[00:14:14] [SPEAKER_01]: You know, every time I talked with her, it was exactly what it was worth.

[00:14:19] [SPEAKER_01]: And then we come down to Sam. He's a wolf in wolf's clothing.

[00:14:22] [SPEAKER_01]: We'll see what happens with Sam.

[00:14:24] [SPEAKER_01]: We'll see exactly what he's showing. I don't know.

[00:14:26] [SPEAKER_01]: That's all I got for you right now, man.

[00:14:28] [SPEAKER_01]: That's all I got.

[00:14:29] [SPEAKER_03]: It's a tough spot. This is a tough spot.

[00:14:32] [SPEAKER_03]: Tough spot off the top.

[00:14:33] [SPEAKER_03]: You're up for the challenge. You're up for the challenge.

[00:14:34] [SPEAKER_03]: All right.

[00:14:36] [SPEAKER_03]: Rome, anything else you want to share with people before we go?

[00:14:39] [SPEAKER_03]: And by the way, I think this might have been most words per exit interview,

[00:14:43] [SPEAKER_03]: I think ever.

[00:14:49] [SPEAKER_01]: It's a game.

[00:14:50] [SPEAKER_01]: Like, everything that I did was in the context of the game.

[00:14:53] [SPEAKER_01]: Everyone can say, oh, Rome was this.

[00:14:55] [SPEAKER_01]: Rome was this.

[00:14:56] [SPEAKER_01]: Who I am in the game and who I'm portrayed as doesn't mean that that's who I am as a person in my everyday life.

[00:15:00] [SPEAKER_01]: Like, you know, like everyone that knows me in my everyday life, they're like, bro, like this edit is absolutely insane.

[00:15:05] [SPEAKER_01]: But at the end of the day, it's a game.

[00:15:06] [SPEAKER_01]: And I'm playing the game as hard as possible.

[00:15:07] [SPEAKER_01]: Every single thing that I did was in the context of the game.

[00:15:10] [SPEAKER_01]: And, you know, I never took anything outside of the game.

[00:15:12] [SPEAKER_01]: Never called anyone out of their name.

[00:15:13] [SPEAKER_01]: Never did anything like that.

[00:15:14] [SPEAKER_01]: So, um, also the fact that I didn't follow Saul around until an hour before tribal.

[00:15:19] [SPEAKER_01]: That wasn't shown.

[00:15:19] [SPEAKER_01]: It was, like, swapped up a little bit different.

[00:15:21] [SPEAKER_01]: It made it look like I did it in the morning.

[00:15:23] [SPEAKER_01]: That it was, like, super crazy.

[00:15:24] [SPEAKER_01]: But literally all that happened after I gave him the ultimatum.

[00:15:26] [SPEAKER_01]: Like, I didn't follow him until he said, I'm not giving you my shot in the dark.

[00:15:29] [SPEAKER_01]: I'm gonna go look for the idol.

[00:15:30] [SPEAKER_01]: So that was, that was a little bit conscrued.

[00:15:31] [SPEAKER_01]: I was like, why was that?

[00:15:33] [SPEAKER_01]: Like, because it was such a scramble in the last hour that, like, it was, it was wild.

[00:15:36] [SPEAKER_01]: So it was a little bit more justified with only, like, 30 minutes left before tribal to follow him around.

[00:15:40] [SPEAKER_01]: Making sure he doesn't get an idol in the next 30 minutes.

[00:15:42] [SPEAKER_01]: So, yeah.

[00:15:42] [SPEAKER_03]: Okay.

[00:15:44] [SPEAKER_03]: Thank you for giving us so much to talk about here in this season.

[00:15:48] [SPEAKER_03]: And all the best to you.

[00:15:48] [SPEAKER_03]: Okay?

[00:15:49] [SPEAKER_01]: Thank you very much.

[00:15:50] [SPEAKER_01]: Thank you very much.

[00:15:51] [SPEAKER_03]: All right, everybody.

[00:15:52] [SPEAKER_03]: There you have it.

[00:15:52] [SPEAKER_03]: There's Rome.

[00:15:53] [SPEAKER_03]: He was cooking there for a minute with the battle rap, with the freestyle rap.

[00:15:59] [SPEAKER_03]: Tough position.

[00:16:00] [SPEAKER_03]: I think maybe him and Mike Bloom, the only two people that might be able to do that, just thrown at them.

[00:16:07] [SPEAKER_03]: But Rome had a lot to say.

[00:16:10] [SPEAKER_03]: I think that, as Saul said, when Rome tells you something, maybe you might want to get some of those stories fact-checked.

[00:16:19] [SPEAKER_03]: But an interesting interview with Rome, nonetheless.

[00:16:24] [SPEAKER_03]: Of course, interesting always is how we describe this week in Survivor History.

[00:16:29] [SPEAKER_03]: Jordan Kalish is going to be back to talk about some trivia from Episode 6 in Survivor History when we come back, right after this.

[00:17:04] [SPEAKER_00]: Thank you very much.

[00:17:11] [SPEAKER_00]: Thank you very much.

[00:17:11] [SPEAKER_00]: All right, everybody.

[00:17:37] [SPEAKER_03]: We're back with this week in Survivor History.

[00:17:40] [SPEAKER_03]: And we have, of course, back here a man who has got all your Survivor trivia at the ready.

[00:17:49] [SPEAKER_03]: It's Jordan Kalish.

[00:17:50] [SPEAKER_03]: How you doing, Rob?

[00:17:52] [SPEAKER_03]: Jordan, doing pretty good.

[00:17:54] [SPEAKER_03]: Ready to talk about our week six in Survivor History, episode six.

[00:18:00] [SPEAKER_03]: How did you do last week at the live show?

[00:18:03] [SPEAKER_05]: I had a great time at the live show.

[00:18:05] [SPEAKER_05]: I think every season it just gets better and better.

[00:18:08] [SPEAKER_05]: There are so many friends who come to these things, podcasters, all the survivors.

[00:18:13] [SPEAKER_05]: Had a great time.

[00:18:14] [SPEAKER_03]: It's like our dysfunctional family reunion.

[00:18:16] [SPEAKER_05]: I think it's a fairly functional family reunion.

[00:18:19] [SPEAKER_05]: I mean, look, it's hard to sometimes talk to everybody.

[00:18:23] [SPEAKER_05]: But everywhere you turn, there's a familiar face.

[00:18:26] [SPEAKER_05]: And it was really a great event that we put on in NYC.

[00:18:31] [SPEAKER_05]: I wish I could be at the Cagayan event that you guys are doing in Philly.

[00:18:35] [SPEAKER_05]: But unfortunately, I can't be there for that.

[00:18:36] [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, that's coming up on Monday night.

[00:18:38] [SPEAKER_03]: The 10-year anniversary.

[00:18:39] [SPEAKER_03]: Speaking of this week in Survivor History, as we celebrate the 10-year anniversary of Survivor Cagayan

[00:18:45] [SPEAKER_03]: in a special documentary that's going to begin a special screening one night in Philadelphia

[00:18:52] [SPEAKER_03]: and then released to the world on Tuesday night.

[00:18:57] [SPEAKER_03]: Go to I Stand Cagayan for more details on that.

[00:19:00] [SPEAKER_03]: But here with us, a man who maybe he stands Cagayan.

[00:19:04] [SPEAKER_03]: I don't know.

[00:19:05] [SPEAKER_03]: James Kane is here.

[00:19:06] [SPEAKER_03]: James, how are you?

[00:19:08] [SPEAKER_04]: Hey, Rob.

[00:19:09] [SPEAKER_04]: Hey, Jordan.

[00:19:09] [SPEAKER_04]: I do stand Cagayan.

[00:19:11] [SPEAKER_04]: And I do stand all things RHAP and Twitch.

[00:19:13] [SPEAKER_04]: Yes.

[00:19:14] [SPEAKER_04]: Happy to be here.

[00:19:14] [SPEAKER_04]: And belated birthday to you, Rob.

[00:19:17] [SPEAKER_03]: Oh, thank you, James.

[00:19:18] [SPEAKER_03]: Wow, there's so much positivity.

[00:19:19] [SPEAKER_03]: Do you stand Twitch?

[00:19:21] [SPEAKER_04]: I do.

[00:19:22] [SPEAKER_04]: I do.

[00:19:22] [SPEAKER_04]: I've been a longtime Twitch listener even before I met Jordan Kalish about five years ago

[00:19:27] [SPEAKER_04]: at his New York City watching parties.

[00:19:30] [SPEAKER_03]: Please, I would love to know, if you are somebody who stands Twitch,

[00:19:34] [SPEAKER_03]: please let me know on social media.

[00:19:37] [SPEAKER_03]: I think you'll find a lot of people.

[00:19:38] [SPEAKER_03]: I'm interested to know.

[00:19:39] [SPEAKER_03]: Maybe I might get like a couple.

[00:19:41] [SPEAKER_03]: I hope you do.

[00:19:41] [SPEAKER_03]: Like, I tolerate Twitch.

[00:19:44] [SPEAKER_03]: But if you stand Twitch, like, I would love to hear that.

[00:19:48] [SPEAKER_05]: Rob, there are so many out there.

[00:19:50] [SPEAKER_05]: At the live show, so many people coming up to me talking about the trivia.

[00:19:53] [SPEAKER_05]: You know what people mainly want to talk about?

[00:19:55] [SPEAKER_05]: It's not the trivia.

[00:19:56] [SPEAKER_05]: It's the verbal rebus.

[00:19:57] [SPEAKER_05]: Everyone mentions the verbal rebus when they run into me.

[00:20:00] [SPEAKER_05]: So I think that's really the selling point.

[00:20:01] [SPEAKER_05]: James, do you stand the verbal rebus?

[00:20:04] [SPEAKER_04]: Oh, I sure do, Rob.

[00:20:06] [SPEAKER_04]: Wow.

[00:20:06] [SPEAKER_04]: I, for one, say let Jordan Kalish cook.

[00:20:09] [SPEAKER_04]: Let him cook.

[00:20:09] [SPEAKER_04]: Maybe don't let him count.

[00:20:10] [SPEAKER_05]: You don't know what he wants to make.

[00:20:13] [SPEAKER_05]: Let the big boy eat, baby.

[00:20:15] [SPEAKER_05]: You want to eat or you want to cook?

[00:20:17] [SPEAKER_05]: I want to cook and then I want to eat.

[00:20:18] [SPEAKER_05]: Jordan, let me just real quick.

[00:20:19] [SPEAKER_03]: Let me get your level of confidence going into the World Series against the Dodgers.

[00:20:25] [SPEAKER_03]: I am confident.

[00:20:26] [SPEAKER_03]: I mean, I'm not like...

[00:20:26] [SPEAKER_03]: Dodgers are no joke.

[00:20:28] [SPEAKER_05]: I'm not guaranteeing...

[00:20:29] [SPEAKER_05]: Take it from me.

[00:20:29] [SPEAKER_05]: The Dodgers are a very good team.

[00:20:31] [SPEAKER_05]: Very good lineup.

[00:20:32] [SPEAKER_05]: Pitching may be a little bit shaky.

[00:20:34] [SPEAKER_05]: Lineup is never ending.

[00:20:35] [SPEAKER_05]: I haven't given my official prediction yet.

[00:20:37] [SPEAKER_05]: It's going to be Yankees in six or Yankees in seven.

[00:20:39] [SPEAKER_05]: I do think we're taking this home.

[00:20:41] [SPEAKER_05]: I think that we're going to be in...

[00:20:42] [SPEAKER_05]: I'm going to be in the Canyon of Heroes in a couple days.

[00:20:45] [SPEAKER_05]: Celebrating a World Series championship.

[00:20:48] [SPEAKER_05]: By the next time we record, the series could be over.

[00:20:53] [SPEAKER_05]: Not necessarily, but it could be.

[00:20:55] [SPEAKER_05]: But I think it's going to be a long series.

[00:20:57] [SPEAKER_05]: So we'll gauge my level of confidence next week.

[00:21:00] [SPEAKER_05]: Right now, I am confident but not cocky.

[00:21:02] [SPEAKER_05]: I know that it's going to be a close world series.

[00:21:05] [SPEAKER_03]: James, do you have a vested interest in this?

[00:21:07] [SPEAKER_04]: I do.

[00:21:08] [SPEAKER_04]: In addition to being a longtime Survivor fan, I'm a longtime Yankees fan.

[00:21:12] [SPEAKER_04]: Oh, I think it's a Dodgers fan.

[00:21:14] [SPEAKER_04]: I'm hoping Jordan's prediction comes true.

[00:21:17] [SPEAKER_04]: But I have you know, my dad is a Mets fan.

[00:21:20] [SPEAKER_04]: And so I was rooting for a Subway Series World Series.

[00:21:23] [SPEAKER_04]: And I was disappointed that the Dodgers pulled it out against the Mets.

[00:21:26] [SPEAKER_03]: Okay.

[00:21:27] [SPEAKER_03]: All right.

[00:21:27] [SPEAKER_03]: What are you going to do?

[00:21:28] [SPEAKER_03]: All right.

[00:21:28] [SPEAKER_03]: So Yankees in six or episode six?

[00:21:32] [SPEAKER_03]: Let's find out.

[00:21:33] [SPEAKER_03]: Jordan, what categories are we talking about today?

[00:21:36] [SPEAKER_03]: What are the seasons?

[00:21:37] [SPEAKER_03]: All right.

[00:21:38] [SPEAKER_05]: The seasons we have are Survivor Africa, Exile Island, Cook Islands, Ghost Island,

[00:21:45] [SPEAKER_05]: 42, and 44.

[00:21:48] [SPEAKER_03]: Okay.

[00:21:48] [SPEAKER_03]: These are Survivor Africa.

[00:21:51] [SPEAKER_03]: Africa.

[00:21:51] [SPEAKER_03]: Exile Island.

[00:21:53] [SPEAKER_03]: Yep.

[00:21:53] [SPEAKER_03]: Cook Islands.

[00:21:54] [SPEAKER_03]: Yep.

[00:21:55] [SPEAKER_03]: What was the next one?

[00:21:56] [SPEAKER_03]: Ghost Island.

[00:21:57] [SPEAKER_05]: Okay.

[00:21:58] [SPEAKER_05]: Definitely not a lonely island with three of the islands.

[00:22:01] [SPEAKER_05]: Long Island.

[00:22:01] [SPEAKER_05]: Long Island.

[00:22:02] [SPEAKER_05]: Survivor 42 and 44.

[00:22:05] [SPEAKER_05]: And James, as the guest, you get to choose the season first.

[00:22:09] [SPEAKER_04]: I'll go with Exile Island.

[00:22:12] [SPEAKER_05]: Okay.

[00:22:12] [SPEAKER_05]: So we're going to go all the way back to Survivor Exile Island.

[00:22:16] [SPEAKER_05]: Very fun season of Survivor.

[00:22:18] [SPEAKER_05]: And I will scroll down to find the question.

[00:22:20] [SPEAKER_05]: He's vamping.

[00:22:22] [SPEAKER_05]: Yep.

[00:22:25] [SPEAKER_05]: In the round before the merge, who did Kasaya send to Exile Island from Lamina, totally taking

[00:22:32] [SPEAKER_05]: them out of the equation for Tribal Council?

[00:22:35] [SPEAKER_04]: I did my homework ahead of time.

[00:22:37] [SPEAKER_04]: And I've been studying up the last, call it 12, 24 hours.

[00:22:42] [SPEAKER_04]: And this is an episode I went back and took a look at.

[00:22:46] [SPEAKER_04]: So I think Sally was the one who was sent to Exile Island.

[00:22:51] [SPEAKER_04]: And unfortunately, that met Dan Barry's demise.

[00:22:55] [SPEAKER_04]: But this is Sally, I'm pretty sure.

[00:22:57] [SPEAKER_05]: So James says Sally.

[00:22:59] [SPEAKER_05]: And James, I hope you have your knee socks because Sally Schumann is the correct answer.

[00:23:03] [SPEAKER_05]: James starts with two points.

[00:23:05] [SPEAKER_03]: I mean, it's a little not fair that the people that come into play against me study.

[00:23:09] [SPEAKER_05]: Hey, you can study too.

[00:23:11] [SPEAKER_05]: I guess I could.

[00:23:11] [SPEAKER_03]: You know what's episode 6.

[00:23:12] [SPEAKER_03]: I guess I could.

[00:23:13] [SPEAKER_05]: But should you?

[00:23:15] [SPEAKER_05]: I mean, you've done pretty well without studying so far.

[00:23:18] [SPEAKER_05]: So who knows if you even need to.

[00:23:20] [SPEAKER_03]: Just saying, I think my 4-in-1 record should be more impressive.

[00:23:23] [SPEAKER_05]: Yeah, I think it's pretty good.

[00:23:25] [SPEAKER_05]: Maybe secretly you're just studying for Twitch every week.

[00:23:28] [SPEAKER_05]: Like between podcasts, you just have the Wikipedia out.

[00:23:31] [SPEAKER_05]: But Rob, it is your question.

[00:23:33] [SPEAKER_05]: You're going to try to match James' two points.

[00:23:36] [SPEAKER_05]: Which season are you going to?

[00:23:37] [SPEAKER_05]: Okay, I'm going to go with Survivor 44.

[00:23:39] [SPEAKER_05]: Okay, 44, the most recent season that we have on the quiz.

[00:23:43] [SPEAKER_05]: Caleb memorably did not vote at the Season 44 emergatory due to playing his shot in the dark.

[00:23:49] [SPEAKER_05]: Who else did not vote at this tribal, choosing instead to sacrifice their vote in order to extend the power of their idol until the final five?

[00:23:59] [SPEAKER_05]: Now I chose Survivor 44 as the category, right?

[00:24:03] [SPEAKER_05]: Sorry, I wrote 44.

[00:24:04] [SPEAKER_05]: This is 45 is the season here.

[00:24:07] [SPEAKER_05]: Hold on.

[00:24:07] [SPEAKER_05]: I wrote 44.

[00:24:08] [SPEAKER_03]: Okay, all right.

[00:24:09] [SPEAKER_05]: Would you have chosen a different season?

[00:24:11] [SPEAKER_03]: No, I would have chosen it.

[00:24:12] [SPEAKER_03]: I'm just very confused that we're talking about Survivor 44.

[00:24:16] [SPEAKER_03]: I'm like, all right.

[00:24:17] [SPEAKER_03]: I'm in.

[00:24:17] [SPEAKER_03]: All right.

[00:24:18] [SPEAKER_03]: It's jam jam.

[00:24:19] [SPEAKER_03]: I'm thinking about what's going on here, Josh Wilder.

[00:24:22] [SPEAKER_03]: And you're talking about Caleb and the shot in the dark.

[00:24:24] [SPEAKER_05]: I wrote 45 in the question.

[00:24:26] [SPEAKER_05]: I wrote it in my header where I have the seasons.

[00:24:28] [SPEAKER_05]: I wrote it on top of the question where I put the season.

[00:24:30] [SPEAKER_05]: Very modeled.

[00:24:32] [SPEAKER_04]: For record, I said, let Jordan Kalish cook, not let Jordan Kalish count.

[00:24:36] [SPEAKER_04]: Yes.

[00:24:37] [SPEAKER_05]: That's a good point.

[00:24:38] [SPEAKER_03]: That's a good point.

[00:24:39] [SPEAKER_03]: All right.

[00:24:40] [SPEAKER_03]: So let me just get back in the headspace now.

[00:24:42] [SPEAKER_03]: Okay.

[00:24:42] [SPEAKER_03]: So can you repeat the question now that we're in Survivor 45?

[00:24:45] [SPEAKER_05]: We're in Season 45.

[00:24:46] [SPEAKER_05]: We jumped a couple months to the next season.

[00:24:50] [SPEAKER_05]: Caleb memorably did not vote at the Season 45 emergatory.

[00:24:54] [SPEAKER_05]: I fixed the question due to playing his shot in the dark.

[00:24:57] [SPEAKER_05]: Who else did not vote at this tribal choosing instead to sacrifice their vote in order to extend the power of their idol until the final five?

[00:25:04] [SPEAKER_03]: Who had an idol that they did not vote?

[00:25:18] [SPEAKER_03]: I believe I'm going to say that it was Austin.

[00:25:26] [SPEAKER_05]: Austin Lee Kuhn, who was recently a guest on the postgame show.

[00:25:33] [SPEAKER_05]: He had previously sacrificed his vote to extend the power to the end of the pre-merge.

[00:25:39] [SPEAKER_05]: And on this vote, he did extend his vote by sacrificing his idol in order for it to be good until the final five.

[00:25:48] [SPEAKER_05]: So that is correct.

[00:25:49] [SPEAKER_05]: Rob, you get two points.

[00:25:51] [SPEAKER_05]: Despite my little flub of the season, you still got the points.

[00:25:54] [SPEAKER_05]: So we are tied two to two.

[00:25:56] [SPEAKER_05]: And we are going to James.

[00:25:58] [SPEAKER_05]: James, we have Africa, Cook, Ghost, and 42.

[00:26:02] [SPEAKER_04]: I'll take Survivor Africa.

[00:26:05] [SPEAKER_05]: Okay.

[00:26:06] [SPEAKER_05]: Going all the way back to Africa.

[00:26:08] [SPEAKER_05]: At the tribal right before the merge, Lindsay was voted out on a past votes tiebreaker due to the four votes previously cast against her.

[00:26:15] [SPEAKER_05]: Which player with no previous votes was she tied with?

[00:26:19] [SPEAKER_04]: Uh, fortunately, as part of my homework, this is also something I looked into.

[00:26:24] [SPEAKER_04]: And the person who received votes at this tribal, besides Lindsay, was a big time.

[00:26:31] [SPEAKER_05]: Big Tom is correct.

[00:26:33] [SPEAKER_05]: One of Rob's fellow Survivor All-Stars contestants.

[00:26:36] [SPEAKER_05]: Big Tom didn't have any votes against him.

[00:26:38] [SPEAKER_05]: So he got to stay in the game and he would go all the way to the final four of that season.

[00:26:43] [SPEAKER_05]: James, you should have just said, I remember it.

[00:26:44] [SPEAKER_05]: You don't have to say that you study.

[00:26:46] [SPEAKER_04]: I've been a big studier my whole life.

[00:26:49] [SPEAKER_04]: I got a lot of books lying around.

[00:26:52] [SPEAKER_04]: So I got to be consistent.

[00:26:54] [SPEAKER_05]: I know a lot about James' educational history, Rob.

[00:26:58] [SPEAKER_05]: I know people who have gone to school with James and I could vouch for the fact.

[00:27:01] [SPEAKER_05]: Very, very smart guy.

[00:27:02] [SPEAKER_05]: And I think the studying...

[00:27:04] [SPEAKER_05]: James, were you one of Jordan's students?

[00:27:07] [SPEAKER_04]: Oh, I sure wish so.

[00:27:08] [SPEAKER_04]: I think, from what I hear, I think Jordan is an amazing teacher.

[00:27:12] [SPEAKER_04]: But I went to UChicago for undergrad.

[00:27:16] [SPEAKER_04]: And funny enough, I ran into Spencer Bloodstone the first day I was on campus.

[00:27:19] [SPEAKER_02]: Oh, okay.

[00:27:21] [SPEAKER_02]: Very random.

[00:27:22] [SPEAKER_04]: Right before Second Chances started.

[00:27:24] [SPEAKER_04]: So it was cool to kind of have that connection with him at the time.

[00:27:30] [SPEAKER_05]: James also did go to high school with somebody that I used to coach.

[00:27:33] [SPEAKER_05]: So it's all...

[00:27:34] [SPEAKER_05]: Every level of education, James is someone that I have come into contact with.

[00:27:39] [SPEAKER_04]: Too kind, Jordan.

[00:27:40] [SPEAKER_04]: But I appreciate the kind words.

[00:27:43] [SPEAKER_05]: Yes, of course.

[00:27:44] [SPEAKER_05]: Of course.

[00:27:44] [SPEAKER_05]: You might say I'm fishing for compliments.

[00:27:47] [SPEAKER_04]: Maybe.

[00:27:47] [SPEAKER_04]: Maybe.

[00:27:49] [SPEAKER_05]: TBD.

[00:27:49] [SPEAKER_05]: Okay.

[00:27:50] [SPEAKER_05]: All right.

[00:27:51] [SPEAKER_05]: Cook Islands and Ghost Island in 42 are the seasons we have left.

[00:27:55] [SPEAKER_05]: Rob.

[00:27:56] [SPEAKER_05]: Okay.

[00:27:56] [SPEAKER_05]: I'm going to go with 42.

[00:27:58] [SPEAKER_05]: All right.

[00:27:59] [SPEAKER_05]: Survivor 42.

[00:28:01] [SPEAKER_05]: Okay.

[00:28:03] [SPEAKER_05]: This one is actually from season 42.

[00:28:05] [SPEAKER_05]: The Mergatory team who won the challenge was allowed to pick one of the two players who

[00:28:10] [SPEAKER_05]: didn't participate in the challenge to join their tribe.

[00:28:12] [SPEAKER_05]: They didn't choose Roxroy, who was therefore exiled, giving him the opportunity to smash

[00:28:17] [SPEAKER_05]: the hourglass.

[00:28:17] [SPEAKER_05]: Who did they choose?

[00:28:19] [SPEAKER_02]: Hmm.

[00:28:23] [SPEAKER_03]: Who did they choose?

[00:28:27] [SPEAKER_03]: And they got reversed.

[00:28:33] [SPEAKER_03]: You know what?

[00:28:34] [SPEAKER_03]: I'm going to need the multiple choice and maybe something will ring a bell.

[00:28:37] [SPEAKER_05]: All right.

[00:28:37] [SPEAKER_05]: We have A, Drea.

[00:28:39] [SPEAKER_05]: B, Jonathan.

[00:28:40] [SPEAKER_05]: C, Lindsay.

[00:28:42] [SPEAKER_05]: D, Lydia.

[00:28:43] [SPEAKER_05]: Yeah.

[00:28:44] [SPEAKER_05]: Okay.

[00:28:45] [SPEAKER_05]: Um, I believe it was Lindsay.

[00:28:48] [SPEAKER_05]: Lindsay Delasiewicz, who was on stage with us at the live show last week and did a great

[00:28:53] [SPEAKER_05]: job is the correct answer.

[00:28:55] [SPEAKER_05]: So Rob, you get one point.

[00:28:56] [SPEAKER_05]: You're down four to three, but you do pick up a point on that question.

[00:29:00] [SPEAKER_05]: And James, where are we going next?

[00:29:03] [SPEAKER_04]: I'll take Survivor, Cook Islands.

[00:29:05] [SPEAKER_05]: Okay.

[00:29:06] [SPEAKER_05]: Cook Islands.

[00:29:07] [SPEAKER_05]: Cook Islands won.

[00:29:08] [SPEAKER_05]: Cowboy was the first player in Survivor history to ever pitch the idea of an idol split or a

[00:29:14] [SPEAKER_05]: vote split to combat the hidden immunity idol.

[00:29:16] [SPEAKER_05]: When he shared his idea, nicknamed Plan Voodoo, which two players did he suggest they split

[00:29:22] [SPEAKER_05]: the votes on?

[00:29:23] [SPEAKER_04]: I think he was looking to split the votes on Jonathan Penner and Candace.

[00:29:28] [SPEAKER_05]: Jonathan Penner and Candace, who would eventually go on to mutiny together.

[00:29:32] [SPEAKER_05]: That is the correct answer.

[00:29:33] [SPEAKER_03]: James, James went, got there quick.

[00:29:37] [SPEAKER_03]: Yes.

[00:29:37] [SPEAKER_05]: That, that, that was very quick.

[00:29:40] [SPEAKER_05]: James, James knows Plan, Plan Voodoo.

[00:29:42] [SPEAKER_05]: That was one of the most famous plans in Survivor history.

[00:29:44] [SPEAKER_04]: So foundational to the history of the show.

[00:29:46] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.

[00:29:47] [SPEAKER_04]: I can't even catch him.

[00:29:49] [SPEAKER_04]: I can't even catch him.

[00:29:50] [SPEAKER_05]: Came up with it in a dream about, about credit cards and banks.

[00:29:53] [SPEAKER_05]: So, uh, you have six points, uh, James, and which means Rob, you, you actually cannot

[00:29:58] [SPEAKER_05]: win here.

[00:29:59] [SPEAKER_05]: James, James is going to beat you, but you are going to get the, uh, the ghost island question

[00:30:03] [SPEAKER_05]: that was a clinching win for James.

[00:30:05] [SPEAKER_05]: I'm hoping to see that from the Yankees coming up pretty soon.

[00:30:08] [SPEAKER_05]: Uh, ghost island earlier in the game, Michael Yerger.

[00:30:11] [SPEAKER_05]: James and five.

[00:30:13] [SPEAKER_05]: James and five.

[00:30:13] [SPEAKER_05]: We're going to be, we're going to be talking about a, uh, a James right now, actually, because

[00:30:17] [SPEAKER_05]: earlier in the game, Michael Yerger found one of James Clement's idols, which he mistakenly

[00:30:21] [SPEAKER_05]: used on Stephanie Johnson.

[00:30:23] [SPEAKER_05]: When PE teacher Brendan Shapiro was voted out, which survivor relic did he also find at Malolo

[00:30:28] [SPEAKER_05]: beach, which was his second idol of the game.

[00:30:34] [SPEAKER_02]: Hmm.

[00:30:36] [SPEAKER_03]: Well, I can't win.

[00:30:38] [SPEAKER_03]: So I am curious to know, uh, I feel like that Jordan is going to have to have done some

[00:30:43] [SPEAKER_03]: creative writing here for these multiple choice options.

[00:30:47] [SPEAKER_05]: Let's see what we have here.

[00:30:48] [SPEAKER_05]: We have a, we have Andrea Belke's idol that she went home with B David writes fake idol

[00:30:54] [SPEAKER_05]: that he made that became a real idol.

[00:30:56] [SPEAKER_05]: Yeah.

[00:30:57] [SPEAKER_05]: Eric Reichenbach's necklace that he famously gave away and D Ozzy's effing stick.

[00:31:02] [SPEAKER_03]: Okay.

[00:31:03] [SPEAKER_03]: So, uh, Jordan did not actually do any creative writing.

[00:31:06] [SPEAKER_03]: Uh, I just, uh, use the ones from, from the game, from the actual show.

[00:31:11] [SPEAKER_03]: What creative writing did you think I was going to do?

[00:31:13] [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.

[00:31:13] [SPEAKER_03]: Um, I'm going to say, was it, did he have the stick?

[00:31:18] [SPEAKER_03]: I feel like it.

[00:31:18] [SPEAKER_03]: Let me just, so I think that Dom had Andrea's idol and then I think Dom had David writes,

[00:31:23] [SPEAKER_03]: uh, thing and Wendell had the Eric Reichenbach necklace.

[00:31:27] [SPEAKER_03]: So I think by process of elimination, I think that Michael Yerger had the effing stick.

[00:31:32] [SPEAKER_05]: Good reasoning there.

[00:31:33] [SPEAKER_05]: Uh, there, there were two young lads back in the day named Aaron Robertson and Jordan

[00:31:37] [SPEAKER_05]: Kalish who, who wrote a wand off called stick in my pants about Michael Yerger finding

[00:31:41] [SPEAKER_05]: this idol.

[00:31:41] [SPEAKER_05]: So Ozzy's effing stick is correct.

[00:31:44] [SPEAKER_05]: Rob, you get two points for that question and James by a score of six to five, you have

[00:31:48] [SPEAKER_05]: won the quiz.

[00:31:48] [SPEAKER_05]: Congratulations.

[00:31:49] [SPEAKER_05]: Yeah.

[00:31:50] [SPEAKER_03]: And because of that, nobody got anything wrong today, but, uh, still a, uh, well-fought

[00:31:56] [SPEAKER_03]: one, uh, great job by you, James.

[00:32:00] [SPEAKER_03]: Thank you.

[00:32:01] [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.

[00:32:01] [SPEAKER_03]: Much appreciated.

[00:32:02] [SPEAKER_03]: Send them to the tournament of champions.

[00:32:03] [SPEAKER_05]: Yes.

[00:32:04] [SPEAKER_05]: This is huge.

[00:32:05] [SPEAKER_05]: You needed this and you also need what's coming up next.

[00:32:08] [SPEAKER_05]: We have the aforementioned verbal rebus baby.

[00:32:11] [SPEAKER_05]: Okay.

[00:32:12] [SPEAKER_05]: We're looking for the last name of the survivor 43 contestant who is also a prolific blood

[00:32:16] [SPEAKER_05]: on the clock tower host and former Twitch contestant.

[00:32:19] [SPEAKER_03]: Okay.

[00:32:20] [SPEAKER_05]: A last name plus Ceri field spent all of the exile Island pre merge on this tribe minus

[00:32:28] [SPEAKER_05]: the second chances merge boot.

[00:32:33] [SPEAKER_05]: Plus Colby Donaldson's mom's name.

[00:32:37] [SPEAKER_05]: Plus Colby Donaldson's mom's name.

[00:32:41] [SPEAKER_05]: Yeah.

[00:32:41] [SPEAKER_05]: It's a, people know this, James, you know, did you study this?

[00:32:45] [SPEAKER_04]: Plus I, I can't, it wasn't an episode six.

[00:32:48] [SPEAKER_04]: So I, I don't know this one.

[00:32:50] [SPEAKER_04]: Okay.

[00:32:50] [SPEAKER_05]: That's fair.

[00:32:51] [SPEAKER_05]: The ver, I will say the verbal.

[00:32:52] [SPEAKER_05]: All right.

[00:32:52] [SPEAKER_05]: That's fine.

[00:32:53] [SPEAKER_05]: I'll, we'll figure it out.

[00:32:55] [SPEAKER_05]: Plus Island of the idols, zero vote finalist Island of the idols, zero vote, zero vote

[00:33:02] [SPEAKER_03]: finalists.

[00:33:03] [SPEAKER_03]: Okay.

[00:33:03] [SPEAKER_05]: Uh, minus the first letter of the first name of the Guatemala contestant who threatened

[00:33:09] [SPEAKER_05]: to beat Gary down.

[00:33:10] [SPEAKER_05]: Okay.

[00:33:11] [SPEAKER_05]: All right.

[00:33:12] [SPEAKER_05]: So that, that's what we have.

[00:33:13] [SPEAKER_05]: So, okay.

[00:33:13] [SPEAKER_05]: So what is, uh, the blood on the clock tower host and Twitch contestants last night?

[00:33:17] [SPEAKER_05]: So that I think that, uh, Dwight Moore, Dwight Moore.

[00:33:21] [SPEAKER_05]: So we have more plus Ceri fields, try Isaiah minus the minus cast minus cast.

[00:33:28] [SPEAKER_05]: So we have, uh, Mariah, Mariah plus, uh, Kobe, Kobe Donaldson's mom's name.

[00:33:33] [SPEAKER_05]: This is the one.

[00:33:34] [SPEAKER_03]: So, um, by deduction, I'm saying her name is gay.

[00:33:39] [SPEAKER_05]: Her name is gay to gay Donaldson.

[00:33:40] [SPEAKER_05]: Um, we have the zero vote finalists from, you could have reached that a lot of different

[00:33:44] [SPEAKER_03]: ways.

[00:33:44] [SPEAKER_05]: There were plenty of ways.

[00:33:45] [SPEAKER_05]: Like, yeah.

[00:33:47] [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.

[00:33:47] [SPEAKER_03]: Um, uh, but probably, probably the safest for the continuation of Twitch.

[00:33:54] [SPEAKER_05]: Yeah.

[00:33:55] [SPEAKER_05]: What do you think?

[00:33:55] [SPEAKER_03]: James has a Twitch stand says, okay, Jordan, thank you.

[00:33:59] [SPEAKER_05]: Uh, plus, uh, zero vote finalists.

[00:34:02] [SPEAKER_05]: You guys know that Nora.

[00:34:03] [SPEAKER_05]: Mine is the first, the first letter of the first name of the Guatemala contestant who

[00:34:07] [SPEAKER_05]: threatened to beat Gary down.

[00:34:08] [SPEAKER_05]: Okay.

[00:34:09] [SPEAKER_05]: Amy.

[00:34:10] [SPEAKER_05]: Yeah.

[00:34:10] [SPEAKER_05]: So what do we have?

[00:34:12] [SPEAKER_05]: Uh, Mariah Gaynor, Mariah Gaynor.

[00:34:15] [SPEAKER_05]: Yes.

[00:34:15] [SPEAKER_05]: The, the most, uh, recent, well, not as of listening to this, there's a, uh, a new, uh, episode

[00:34:22] [SPEAKER_05]: six casualty and potentially would, I don't know if they're doing, I, I, I, the, it would

[00:34:25] [SPEAKER_05]: seem ambiguous in the previews.

[00:34:27] [SPEAKER_05]: Who knows what they're doing with Mergatory this season, but last season, Mariah Gaynor

[00:34:32] [SPEAKER_05]: went home.

[00:34:33] [SPEAKER_05]: And that is the answer to the verbal rebus.

[00:34:35] [SPEAKER_05]: Should we do verbal rebus merch?

[00:34:36] [SPEAKER_05]: I feel like that should be a thing.

[00:34:37] [SPEAKER_05]: What would the verbal rebus merch?

[00:34:40] [SPEAKER_05]: I've thought of, I've thought of this.

[00:34:42] [SPEAKER_05]: I think it would be, it could be like a shirt and it could say verbal rebus as a verbal.

[00:34:46] [SPEAKER_05]: What would the verbal rebus?

[00:34:48] [SPEAKER_04]: I'm a buyer.

[00:34:49] [SPEAKER_05]: What would the verbal rebus be?

[00:34:52] [SPEAKER_03]: I mean, and, and at that point, isn't it just a rebus?

[00:34:55] [SPEAKER_05]: It's just a rebus, but I think it should say, or maybe it's the shirt to say not a verbal

[00:34:59] [SPEAKER_05]: rebus and it could be like a not and a, like a, what's, I don't know.

[00:35:03] [SPEAKER_05]: It would just have to be all text.

[00:35:05] [SPEAKER_05]: Uh, it would be like, it could be like a re R E and then a bus.

[00:35:09] [SPEAKER_03]: I don't even know how you get to ver like, uh, like, uh, like middle part of Jervis's

[00:35:15] [SPEAKER_03]: name.

[00:35:16] [SPEAKER_05]: Yeah.

[00:35:17] [SPEAKER_05]: I, it would be a lot of text for a shirt.

[00:35:18] [SPEAKER_05]: It would be too much.

[00:35:19] [SPEAKER_05]: That's why it would be a verb.

[00:35:21] [SPEAKER_05]: Well, and then read and say, read aloud.

[00:35:23] [SPEAKER_05]: What if, what if it's like a hat?

[00:35:25] [SPEAKER_05]: Okay.

[00:35:25] [SPEAKER_05]: This is good.

[00:35:25] [SPEAKER_05]: What if it's a hat, but the hat comes with like a little like speaker device and you press

[00:35:29] [SPEAKER_05]: the button or it's a bobblehead.

[00:35:31] [SPEAKER_05]: It's a Kalish bobblehead.

[00:35:32] [SPEAKER_05]: You press it and I give you verbal rebus.

[00:35:34] [SPEAKER_03]: Listen, enough Kalish merch.

[00:35:38] [SPEAKER_03]: Okay.

[00:35:39] [SPEAKER_03]: Oh, the seeds baby shirt.

[00:35:41] [SPEAKER_03]: What a reveal.

[00:35:41] [SPEAKER_03]: What a last second reveal.

[00:35:43] [SPEAKER_03]: What a reveal.

[00:35:44] [SPEAKER_03]: Okay.

[00:35:45] [SPEAKER_03]: Okay.

[00:35:46] [SPEAKER_03]: Uh, you already hit the high note.

[00:35:48] [SPEAKER_03]: Okay.

[00:35:49] [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.

[00:35:50] [SPEAKER_03]: I mean, I don't, I always, yeah.

[00:35:52] [SPEAKER_03]: All right.

[00:35:53] [SPEAKER_03]: James, do you have anything that you would like to plug?

[00:35:55] [SPEAKER_03]: You earn a plug as the winner of Twitch.

[00:35:57] [SPEAKER_04]: Uh, yeah.

[00:35:58] [SPEAKER_04]: If, if anyone wants to follow me on Instagram, I'm a J A M E S underscore K O E H N E.

[00:36:06] [SPEAKER_04]: And then in the last, uh, year and a half or so, I started a board game company.

[00:36:12] [SPEAKER_04]: Wow.

[00:36:12] [SPEAKER_04]: It's still very nascent, but I love all things games.

[00:36:17] [SPEAKER_04]: Uh, and you know, that comes with the territory with survivor, but thought I'd venture out and

[00:36:22] [SPEAKER_04]: start, you know, try to make my own board game.

[00:36:24] [SPEAKER_04]: So the first one that I've been developing is called verbal rebus the game.

[00:36:30] [SPEAKER_04]: No, no, no.

[00:36:31] [SPEAKER_04]: I'll leave that for, to, for, for Jordan to develop.

[00:36:34] [SPEAKER_04]: But the first game, uh, I've been developing, uh, is a game called, uh, fishing for compliments,

[00:36:39] [SPEAKER_04]: which is, uh, my, my left shoulder.

[00:36:41] [SPEAKER_04]: It's supposed to be a game all about saying nice things about other people and vice versa.

[00:36:46] [SPEAKER_03]: I'm really supposed to, is that why Jordan was fishing for compliments today?

[00:36:49] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.

[00:36:50] [SPEAKER_04]: He was making a reference.

[00:36:51] [SPEAKER_04]: So Jordan was kind enough to volunteer to try out, uh, the game over the last like year

[00:36:56] [SPEAKER_04]: or so.

[00:36:56] [SPEAKER_03]: James, what's the URL again?

[00:36:59] [SPEAKER_04]: Uh, Oh, so for the board game company, it's Kane's games.

[00:37:02] [SPEAKER_04]: It's K O E H N E S G A M E S on Instagram.

[00:37:08] [SPEAKER_02]: Okay.

[00:37:09] [SPEAKER_04]: Um, so I'm hoping that this will be available sometime in 2025, uh, and super excited about

[00:37:16] [SPEAKER_04]: it.

[00:37:16] [SPEAKER_04]: I think it's a, it's a nice departure away from like the really intense social strategy

[00:37:19] [SPEAKER_04]: games, which I also like, but, uh, I'm excited about this game too.

[00:37:24] [SPEAKER_03]: All right.

[00:37:24] [SPEAKER_03]: James sounds like a great idea and, uh, hope that everything goes great.
