You know, I'm trying to find the silver lining in this week, but I just can't. My girl, my queen, she's falling and I'm in mourning. It's been tough. It's been tough.

[00:02:54] [SPEAKER_11]: Rob, it happens. You could be a great personality, a great strategist, a great player, and sometimes luck's just not in your favor.

[00:03:00] [SPEAKER_11]: This time, it doesn't look like the ball was going to bounce in Asia's court and she was going to take it and dunk it like I knew she could.

[00:03:07] [SPEAKER_11]: She fell short, but she, I'm so proud. I'm so proud to call Asia my friend. I think she had a great showing.

[00:03:12] [SPEAKER_11]: If you got to go out third, this is how you want to go out, okay? Swinging, you know, like she even had like a Makayla-esque exit, you know, where she's like, what? Y'all two? Huh? Y'all did this? Saw? Was it you? You know?

[00:03:24] [SPEAKER_11]: You know, I was like, all right. All right. You see that competitive edge come out, like even on her exit, I'm still like, this lady's an icon. She's so great. Thank you, Asia. Can't wait to see you on Survivor 50.

[00:03:33] [SPEAKER_06]: Okay. Chappelle, do you want to talk about the vote? You haven't had a chance to talk about the episode at all?

[00:03:41] [SPEAKER_11]: Yeah. I mean, the show could have really simplified this by just saying like, and I think they say it in a lot of ways, but then they distract us with the smoke and mirrors.

[00:03:49] [SPEAKER_11]: But Teenie, Kashawn, they wanted to work with Rome and Genevieve. I mean, it's very cut and dry. You know, like we were given like the little glimmers of hope, like, yeah, well, what if we went in the other direction?

[00:03:59] [SPEAKER_11]: This, that, and the other. But based on their actions and what we saw and even their words, they were always leaning toward going with Rome and Genevieve.

[00:04:07] [SPEAKER_11]: There was like just glimmers of hope. You know, the show really breadcrummed us into thinking, well, if there's a shot, let's talk about it.

[00:04:14] [SPEAKER_11]: I think Asia laid out a plan that could have worked. I think if they wanted to work with Asia, it would have worked.

[00:04:19] [SPEAKER_11]: They didn't. And we move on.

[00:04:21] [SPEAKER_06]: Right. I really feel like that the episode gave us like the whole last, like first seven days or whatever of the game, like from Asia's perspective for the most part.

[00:04:32] [SPEAKER_06]: I think that's why so many of us ended up being blindsided.

[00:04:35] [SPEAKER_06]: I think, so I watched the episode again this morning to get ready to do this podcast with you.

[00:04:40] [SPEAKER_06]: While Teenie and Kashawn, I feel like, were certainly like a duo.

[00:04:45] [SPEAKER_06]: I don't know if we ever really got the sense from Kashawn that he really wanted to.

[00:04:50] [SPEAKER_06]: Like, I feel like that in that duo, like, I feel like that there was like a tug of war where Teenie was maybe more inclined to want to go to the Saul and Asia side.

[00:05:02] [SPEAKER_06]: But Kashawn, like, I just don't know if we ever got that from him in terms of like, like, I think that maybe like he was feeling like that, you know, okay, well, where, you know, Genevieve is our three and Rome's our four over there.

[00:05:16] [SPEAKER_06]: And I just feel like that it was maybe too much for Teenie to like get Kashawn to flip.

[00:05:24] [SPEAKER_11]: I mean, yeah, we don't really see their relationship with Genevieve at all.

[00:05:28] [SPEAKER_11]: You know, they talk about having a four, but they have two fours.

[00:05:31] [SPEAKER_11]: And so, but we don't see anybody say Genevieve is somebody that I really want to work with.

[00:05:35] [SPEAKER_11]: Right.

[00:05:35] [SPEAKER_11]: And so when Asia comes in and says, hey, let's just vote out Genevieve.

[00:05:38] [SPEAKER_11]: Maybe Kashawn is thinking, I like Genevieve.

[00:05:41] [SPEAKER_11]: I don't want to vote out Genevieve.

[00:05:42] [SPEAKER_11]: I'm okay with Saul going, but not Genevieve, you know, and so maybe, just maybe, you know, the other option wasn't looking so attractive to Kashawn.

[00:05:50] [SPEAKER_11]: It definitely didn't look like it was that attractive to Teenie even.

[00:05:53] [SPEAKER_11]: Like, like I said, I know Teenie was telling us that they know Asia and that they have a connection with Asia.

[00:05:58] [SPEAKER_11]: But when it's time to save Asia, you know, I think if you really wanted to work with Asia, you just vote out Genevieve and move on.

[00:06:04] [SPEAKER_11]: Or you just vote out Saul and move on.

[00:06:06] [SPEAKER_11]: The fact that this bounced back to work on Asia, it feels like they don't want to work with Asia and Saul.

[00:06:12] [SPEAKER_11]: And Asia's probably not as good in challenges as Saul is.

[00:06:14] [SPEAKER_11]: So Asia got the boot.

[00:06:15] [SPEAKER_11]: It's not that complicated, probably.

[00:06:17] [SPEAKER_11]: But the show gave us the breadcrumbs that we needed to be invested.

[00:06:20] [SPEAKER_11]: Rob, I think any other season we see this coming a mile away.

[00:06:23] [SPEAKER_11]: But because it's Asia, we're looking at it through her eyes.

[00:06:26] [SPEAKER_11]: The show is showing her perspective a lot of times.

[00:06:28] [SPEAKER_11]: We want it to work so bad that we're like, yeah, the plan is right there.

[00:06:32] [SPEAKER_11]: You can do a 2-2-2, you can do a 3-1 over here in this direction.

[00:06:35] [SPEAKER_11]: Like, you don't have to do these things.

[00:06:38] [SPEAKER_11]: No, I think we were just given a red herring and we fell for it.

[00:07:13] [SPEAKER_11]: Now, I will be at the end of this season eating crow if one of them goes on to win the entire season.

[00:07:20] [SPEAKER_11]: Because Survivor is way more fun when you have somebody you could root against.

[00:07:23] [SPEAKER_11]: And this cast is so likable that I need a reason.

[00:07:27] [SPEAKER_11]: And so I will be rooting against the red tribe until it's all said and done.

[01:37:33] [SPEAKER_06]: And Christian Hubicki was a big help in terms of putting it all together.

[01:37:37] [SPEAKER_06]: And with a lot of great help behind the scenes, we ran an all Survivor edition of Blood on the Clock Tower.
