Brooke and I are joined by the Amazing Race season 29 fan favorites,
[00:01:24] Team Fun, aka Becca and Floyd, as they continue racing through the canals of Venice, Italy, for episode seven of the Amazing Race season 29. This memorable leg features a musical detour completion with gargoyles and a lot of other things demanding luggage delivery.
[00:01:51] Okay, you got to bring my luggage to the door. Okay, it was a luggage challenge through Venice, narrow streets and bridges, and a frantic hunt for a water taxi that pushes several teams to their limits. Together, we revisit the travel, the chaos, the unforgettable challenges, the emotional moments that define this lake, while Becca and Floyd, ooh, they share some behind-the-scenes stories
[00:02:20] of what it really took to race through Venice. This and so much more. Baby, you are in for a treat. You're in for team fun. So let's get into this week's Pit Stop. Pit Stop. Pit, pit, pit, pit stop. It's a pit stop. Pit, pit, pit, pit stop. It's a pit stop. It's a pit stop. Pit, stop. Pit, stop. Pit, stop.
[00:02:49] I'm going to have to cuss out Team Fun for not using the Express Pass, even though you shouldn't have used it. But listen, we are back with our Purple Pants Podcast Summer Rewatch of Amazing Race, Season 29, Episode 7. And bitch, things just got a whole lot funner. I'm always excited to be here with my amazing, my talented, she might say she can't, but she does, co-host Miss Brooke Cam High from Season 29.
[00:03:19] What's popping with you, Brooke? Hello. How are you? I'm excited. The World Cup is happening. But this is more important. And I'm very excited. Should we have some fun today, Bryce? I feel like we should have some fun. I feel like this is a day for fun. I think we should have fun. Mm-hmm. So please join me in welcoming our very special, I know they were on 31, but that counts less, their Season 29's favorite team. And I say that as someone from Season 29, and I'm okay with it. If we couldn't take it, it should have been them,
[00:03:49] and it probably should have been them anyway, but whatever. Please welcome to the podcast, together, I believe, for the first time, Becca Droz, Floyd Pierce, joining us. And wore her shirt. Floyd did not get such a memo. I think, like I said, I think I donated it. I think it gave everyone a charity. Such a good person that he gave the shirt. Can I just say one thing?
[00:04:15] I remember, like, this is how wonderful these two people are. And this is like, if you know them, you love them. And even if you don't know them, you love them, because let's get real. Though I remember meeting Floyd at finals casting. Well, both. But Floyd at finals casting. And the first real memory I have of Floyd is when you get to the end of finals casting, you have to get, like, immunizations and speak to the psychiatrist so they make sure you're stable. I spoke to Floyd.
[00:04:42] But I do remember Floyd sitting outside the room waiting to get his shots, and he was just beaming from ear to ear. And I'm like, who is so smiley when he's going to get shot? Floyd is. The dude never stops smiling. You're just pure happiness. And Becca also, first of all, has the best laugh on the planet. But second of all, I was going to say never stop smiling, but we did see you stop smiling that one time. Rightfully so. Yeah. Rightfully so.
[00:05:10] But just two of the best people on the planet. So thank you both for joining us. So happy to have you here together. And I know everyone watching is going to be like, oh, my God. Team fun. We don't care about anybody else. So take over. We're super happy to be here. Thanks for having us. Yeah. Ditto. From team fun. I expect a little more. No. It's trying to be here. Thank you. My bad.
[00:05:40] Go ahead. Go ahead, Becca. All right. I forgot. Wait. Ready? Wait. I'll go first. I'll go first. Okay. Wait. Wait. No, because we're going to. Is this the same screen? Like, can you. I think it's the mirror. I think it's Mike. No. I'm on this side for me. Both of you need to be honest. This is a detour. This is a detour. This is a detour. This is a detour. This is another side. There we go. Yeah. Okay. We got there.
[00:06:06] We got there. I think we were in Venice on June 22nd, 10 years ago. I think that's right. Is that right? That one is Venice. Oh. I trust you. That's your amazing race goal? These are every pit stop that we want to see, starting with Panama and ending in Chicago. That's pretty cool. That's pretty cool.
[00:06:34] That's my wall. And then I have, you know, a map and some clues and our songbook. There you go. Yeah. My wall, my amazing race wall is right in front of me, but the lighting in this room is like terrible at like 2 p.m. So that's why I'm facing this direction. So I'm like completely wide it out. Also in my songbook are the notes that my parents gave me to take on the amazing race with them, which I have not seen in 10 years. Oh, this is for my dad. This is like just little smile.
[00:07:05] Be the person everyone roots for. Oh, try, try not to curse. Watch your language. You're on TV. That didn't work out. Be nice to your partner. Uh-huh. Do your best. Take notes. Love you. Be happy. Oh, I mean, I was happy, except I didn't show a lot of it, but that's fine. No, honestly, I feel like whenever I watch episodes, I'm like, Brooke is actually like a lot of the time you're kind of like feeling yourself and having a good time.
[00:07:32] And I feel like Scott kind of like created this story about you because of like how you were a lot of the time, which was like in whatever you're like, I don't like this. I don't too hard. But like, so he then probably just like had that lens the entire time and saw, saw you as like being, uh, crabby, like the whole time cranky or whatever.
[00:07:59] But then like, there's so many moments where like he's actually being cranky and you're like feeling yourself and having a great time. And I'm like, oh, Brooke is actually like enjoying this. And maybe like the way she enjoys things is like, like. Oh, what is this? That's hilarious. But listen, it's either half full or half empty. But Becca and Floyd, like in preparation to Brooke and I rewatching Brooke keeps,
[00:08:26] well, she calls me and texts me nonstop, but like, she's always forewarning me. Like this episode is not great. Don't like. And so I'm always going into it as like a protective friend. Like, oh, okay. I'm not going to. And then like, when I watched the episode back, I call her and I'm like, okay, Brooke, yeah, you were brooking a little bit, but like, you still killed it. You still were funny.
[00:08:52] And so it's just so interesting, like watching ourselves back or like the perception that you have of yourself when it airs. And then whenever you decide to rewatch it back, I, um, I don't think that it's that bad. I mean, and all of you at this point, you guys are seven episodes deep, bitch. I only, I only had two and a half episodes to reflect. So I am immensely jelly. I will say this is my favorite episode to watch.
[00:09:22] And in rewatching it, it was a hard day. It was like not a great day for getting from place to place. But in watching it, this episode seven is actually my favorite episode to see because so many good things happen. And I don't think actually, honestly, all of us and Floyd, I will have one question for you later because in rewatching it earlier today, I was like, oh, Floyd, I'm so curious. It's just the answer is you're a nice person and a good person. And so that's just going to be your answer. Helping out. Okay. Okay. Yeah.
[00:09:53] Oh, but he can't help himself. He can't help. He's just a good person. Like that's what it is. Good people. But this episode, I actually think for both of our teams was one of the best episodes, like just most fun, generally, like just happy, good place to be. Yeah. Before we even start last episode back in Floyd, because I just have to say like, you know, throughout Brooke and I's podcast, I give a lot of cuss outs and I yell at a lot of the people.
[00:10:22] But I just want to say the detour of last episode was like the rock climbing. Like, I just want to feel rock. Like I was like, yes. And again, I love Zach, Matt, Brockman and Redmond. So I get they names. It's Matt and Redmond. He doesn't know. He doesn't know what the name is. That's just FYI. If he says Brockman or Zach, it's Matt and Redmond. I don't understand.
[00:10:46] So Brooke always tells me as I'm somewhat of a new Amazing Race savant that like, if you stay on the Amazing Race long enough, there will be an episode for you. And so I feel like even when y'all didn't use the express pass, but I'm going to let it go. Right. They did. Right. They did. But like, I also was like, oh, my God, this is a Becca task that they like. Right.
[00:11:11] And so I feel like you could have put Becca at that detour and it could have said sit for 20 minutes doing nothing and you get your clue or climb a rock wall. And she would have been like, rock wall. I don't care. Like, I'd rather do this thing. Or sit for zero minutes. Here's your clue. Or take extra time and climb the wall. Becca would have been like, wall, let's go. And she already taught Floyd how to belay as like, yeah, boat. Like, no. She was doing that. That couldn't have been real belaying, though. They were going to let something random.
[00:11:40] No, they just like pulled it through some like device. I was convinced that the guy was not holding the rope. And rewatching it. I'm like, it's not the only thing between me and death. It's fine. The guy was holding the rope in the moment. But you guys using that express pass, I'm like, damn, Becca missed her opportunity. And then in episode six, we actually get to see you rock climb. And I'm like, oh, yes. Becca about to show these boys who's boss.
[00:12:09] And then I got pissed because, of course, Matt and Redmond also have two other people on their team. Zach and Red and whatever the name is. And so they cheat. And so they beat you. And so, like, I was so disappointed. But when I tell you. But only for a moment. But when I tell you, when you was on those boats and you looked at Floyd, and this is not what you said, but how I interpreted it.
[00:12:37] When you pulled up to the dock, you looked at Floyd. You said, bitch, get ready to get off. And y'all get in first place. It's like moments like that that I just, like, I fall in love with Amazing Race. So, again, I just wanted to just give y'all kudos. Because there might have been an episode or two I did for Charlotte. I feel seen. I feel seen. Yeah. I think it was in the first place.
[00:13:01] Because, honestly, when Becca was helping me with the ladle after we gave them the key and they missed out on the first place, I'm convinced that they would have had it had Becca not stayed with me to help with the ladle. So, like, it was well. It was deserved before that. But it was well-deserved in this moment. Like, I think God was just sort of looking out for them and being like, we're giving you a one-step head start. Go get it. And they did. And worth it. Who took that trip? I did. I did. Argentina. That was Argentina.
[00:13:31] That was Argentina. Got it. Ushuaia. Southern tip of South America. It was cool. I think you got to take a different trip. Did you go to the Galapagos Islands? Yeah. That's very cool, too. Yeah. All right. Really cool. Sorry, Bryce. Spoiler alert. Yes. That's true. Yeah. Well, what's funny about that, like, neck and neck boat thing, too, is, like, Matt and Redmond's boat, like, crashed into the dock or something. Oh, that's right. It was, like, super expensive boats.
[00:14:00] And they were like, hey, bye. You got to keep moving, right? I mean, it's not their responsibility. Not their responsibility. Unlike Liz and Mike, who crashed into a guy in Norway. And the guy was like, that's okay. The dick was already there. Because that would have been their responsibility to, like, take care of that and settle it. Yeah. But if you're not driving on the boat, just hop off the boat and just keep moving. No. Okay. Bryce, anything else you need to say before we get started on what we need for an episode to rewatch?
[00:14:30] Let's get into episode seven. I'm excited. Becca, Floyd, interrupt us at any point. Fill in any behind the scenes, anything you think of. Tell me to shut the hell up. I'm cool with it. So, we're staying in it. Don't ding the bell to that. We're staying in Italy, which Bryce knows I don't love when we stay in the same country. But I do love when it is very different than the first leg in the same country. So, we're going to Venice, which was a very different vibe from the Lake Como vibe.
[00:15:00] Like, that was, you know, climbing rocks in a little bit more country than the city filled with canals. And Becca and Floyd are first to leave at 3.04 in the afternoon. Oh, no. In the morning. This is like middle of the night. This is, honestly, the beginning of this leg was probably my favorite thing. And I wish they'd shown more of this. Matt and Redmond leave a couple minutes later. Tara and Joey are at 3.30. And they are on the first bus that's going to leave.
[00:15:27] Bryce, remember when I told you there was that time I had to pee so, so badly? So, I made the bus spill over? This is the bus that we're talking about. We have Mike and Liz at 3.37. Brooke and Scott about a half hour later. And London and Logan at 20 after four. We do see Venk and Ashton for a hot second. And we get to cry again about how they went home. And we show Venk talking about how he wants to be a beautiful something. And, again, my heart melts for them. But they're not here anymore. So we don't need to talk about them anymore.
[00:15:54] So, also, this leg, I think, was Father's Day. And so, we do hear Mike talk in the beginning and, like, a big foreshadowing about the fact that he's missing his daughter, Pearl. And this is the longest they've ever been apart. And I do, I very vividly remember, I'm sure you two do as well. Like, this was a hard day. I think Joey was having a hard time. He was dead. Mike was having a very hard time. It's just sort of, it's Father's Day. And you don't get to call.
[00:16:20] It's, like, not, like, the challenge or any of those other shows where you can have contact with people at home. It was just sort of try and make your friends feel better while they're here because there's nothing you can do. You can't speak to your kids. So, we see a little bit of that. And, well, Beck and Floyd, because they're first, are told to travel to Venice, Italy. You are going and find a, oh, my God. Spazina? Spazina? Oh, my God. Spazina. A street street. Spazina.
[00:16:50] Spazina. Spazina. A square. Yeah. And there are two buses. On the first bus, you got Team Fun, you got the boys, and you got Joey and Tara. But, honestly, one of the best moments is at the beginning of this episode where Beck is like, we're going to take them down. Like, this is time to kick out Joey. Floyd did not get that memo because later in the episode, he decides just flat out give the answer. We'll talk about it. We'll talk about it.
[00:17:14] So, I did write a note because, like, again, anytime Becca get hype, I get hype with Becca. And so, at this point, because the edit doesn't necessarily show us, but we see Joey and Tara doing well. And I literally wrote, I was like, the tension is coming. Take out Joey and Tara from Becca.
[00:17:36] And so, like, at this point, were you guys looking at them as, like, your opposition or, like, a team that is doing too well and we need to get out? It was a combination of, yeah. Okay. I'm curious of your answer. I think it was a combination of both because, like, I think objectively when you look at it, Matt and Redmond were probably one of the strongest teams of the season. But we were just, like, super close and homies with them, you know what I mean? And so, we kind of just wanted to, like, ride or die with them to the end.
[00:18:04] And so, then I think Tara and Joey was that other team that was, like, really prominent and really doing well and that we didn't always, like, during the race click with as well. After the fact, yes. But during the race, maybe not as much. So, I think that's really just where it came from. Yeah. Just a strong team that we weren't personally aligned with. Is that right, Becca? Yeah. You have something to say. Just say it. Oh, no. Wait a minute, Becca. Let me get right. All right. Well, yeah.
[00:18:33] I agree with that. And, like, Tara's, like, ability to speak a bunch of languages was, like, a threatening thing. But there is also, I think, just, like, yes, we were connecting more with other teams, including Matt and Redmond.
[00:18:49] And I think there were some things that we heard from other camera crews and also just our own perception of the way that Tara and Joey were maybe, like, feeling about or interacting with the locals that did not sit super well with me. And so, I think there was a part of me. And so, I think there was a part of me that was, like, I don't want to be racing with these people. And I don't, I just, I definitely don't want to lose to them. Mm. Mm.
[00:19:20] Mm. So. That's her team. If I ain't never say I fucked with Becca before. Oh! Because I think, and I guess, for me, coming from, like, the Survivor world, the moment we leave our hotels in Survivor and, like, we go on the trek to where, like, the game starts. And so, so much matters.
[00:19:45] And sometimes I hate that about Survivor where it's, like, sometimes you'll see it and people are, like, oh, my God! They're best friends instantly. Meanwhile, they're on the plane talking. Or, like, you know what I'm saying? And so, or, again, someone being mean at TSA, right? Kind of, like, kind of form an opinion. And so, like, I always wonder if those type of things matter. And I think I got my answer. And I love that.
[00:20:14] Or I love that introspective thought. So thank you for sharing that, Becca. Sure. Yeah, I mean, they were always very kind to us. So, like, there was that. But, yeah, I think they just had fundamentally different views than I and we did. Yeah. Fair statement. And I think, honestly, Becca and I, Becca and I were the soul Jews. We had our little Jew connection on our season of the race. And people that you just sort of, like, gel with and that you want to race with. Because you know what?
[00:20:44] If we lost a team fun, okay. Like, those are the things you have to look for. Because, you know, there's going to be a U-turn. There's going to be a way to slow everybody else down. And you have to have some rationale for that. And the rationale is you've seen someone treat a local in a certain way. Or you've heard someone say something that just doesn't align with your views on life. Like, you know, you want, if you're going to lose, you're going to lose to somebody that you'd be okay losing to.
[00:21:11] And I think that's just sort of, like, correct me if I'm wrong, the feeling that all of us had was, like, you know, if any of us take it, then okay. But if somebody else takes it, it's like, I mean, it is what it is and they'll deserve it. But let's give ourselves the best shot to have somebody we want to see win, win it. Yeah. I'm not knowing your fans. I have no idea. Yes. So we have the two buses, Team Fun, the boys, and Joey and Tara.
[00:21:40] And then the cool bus, Liz and Mike, Rick and Scott, and London and Logan, who show up five minutes before the bus gets there. I don't know if you guys remember this, but I very much remember waiting for these buses. And Liz, I think it was Liz, and I just start, when you guys go to leave, start singing, like, the sound of music. Like, so long, farewell. We were just having some, we were delirious. Middle of the night, just having fun, hanging out with the people you want to hang out with.
[00:22:05] And after Becca has joked, not joking, that Joey and Tara need to be out, we see the first bus leave and head to the Piazza San Marco. We hear from Matt and Redmond and whoever else you say is on their team that they're so upset that they haven't had a first place finish, which you know is either means that they're going to finish first or that they're going to go home because that's how the amazing race edits things.
[00:22:33] And then the first bus gets in and they get on these $350,000 Ferrari of the sea boats where everyone is just sort of having a ton of fun. And everyone's passing each other and joking around, which I guess you can do when you're in the front. I wouldn't know that much, but everyone's having a great time and headed to this plaza. Do you guys remember anything specific about this part of the day? The only thing I remember is how awesome it was. Like, I don't know.
[00:23:01] I was like, I can't control how fast the boat's going to go. I was like, what's a Spassini? I think we asked our boat driver and he wouldn't tell us or something like that. Ours wouldn't tell us either. I think they were told not to tell. So I think I was just vibing. I think I said in the episode two, I was like, you know, this is so cool. We're in Venice. This is cool. Like our boat. And then it's also easy to feel those ways when you're top three and the other three are like our or whatever behind you. But yeah, that's all I remember from that day really. It's just that boat ride.
[00:23:29] Yeah, I definitely remember being like annoyed the other boats were like passing us. And that like, yeah, it is just so funny how like even at the top of the pack. And this is just like such a storyline for me. Just so, so competitive that I'm like, yeah, like wanting to relax, but be like, why are they passing us? Like, this is not okay. A little bit of dichotomy of team fun. Come on, silly. It's like, okay, we're chilling. We're chilling. But like, go fast.
[00:23:59] Oh, my God. Totally chilling. Beck and I have that part in common. I don't have the actual chill, like fun part. But I mean, I love the competitive spirit. Meanwhile, on the second bus and I watched this and I laughed out loud. Scott's all, you know, it's hard to be a teenager with someone who's kind of negative. So I'm just going to be on mute. And I'm like, and then he goes on to talk for another seven minutes. I'm like, where is his mute button? He's not muting. Like, you're going to be on. He just heckled me the entire time that we were on that bus. So there's no mute.
[00:24:28] He's got no issues at all. So meanwhile, Tara does speak Italian. If you didn't hear it, she'll tell you she speaks it every 17 seconds in this episode. And the second bus is en route getting onto their boats. And Tara and Joey find the street sweeper first. And they are told to head to a detour, which is either sing it, where you have to learn an Italian song, sing for a couple of actors who are in love and get your clue.
[00:24:56] So, or bring it, which was bring a cart of a bunch of suitcases through the streets to one hotel. And you'll get your clue when you drop off the luggage. Like as much as the last episode was Becca's challenge. Like I would venture to guess, correct me if I'm wrong, Becca. You saw climate and you didn't even bother reading what the other one was because you were like, this is the one for me. I want to climb a rock. The end, not doing the other one.
[00:25:24] So for me in this one, it was like, we saw sing it. And Scott's like, or, and I was like, don't care. Like, this is the one that we're doing. Because finally, it's something that Brooke actually knows what she's doing. When I, finals week, you sit down with the casting director and they're like, you know, what do you do? What are you good at? And I sang opera through college. And so they had me sing. Yeah, I sang, I sang, I was musical theater major and I sang opera through college. Give us a little snippet. Yeah, let's hear it. Absolutely hero.
[00:25:54] And so. The gasp, Becca is asking you. Yeah, I want to hear a little. At the end, we'll do a little thing before we finish it. But. Becca. We can mark that and make sure that happens. Go ahead. No. So we saw the sing it and we're like going. And Scott's like, but. And I was like, there's no but. Like now it's fun, Alisa. This day was. I mean, as much as we argued getting from places, this was a Brooke day. Just like the last one was a Becca day.
[00:26:23] And this one is for Brooke. So my favorite thing is Becca and Floyd see sing it or bring it. And they go, which one's more fun? Let's do the fun one. Because that is just who the two of you are. And you head to the singing one. As do Liz and Mike and us. And the other three teams, Tara and Joey, Matt and Red and London and Logan head to the bring it task. You guys have found the street sweeper. You're going where you're going. The boys have also found it. And they're going where they're going. Yeah.
[00:26:53] But we got to talk about team Lolo. Because again, prior to this. Those dicks, by the way. I've been cussing Brooke out. Okay. Because again, I'm. Again. Hold on. What? I don't know what y'all are going to be mad at me. Yeah. But like, I feel like at the Cheser Trust. When. Did they give you the key at the Cheser Trust? Or. What is the Cheser Trust, my dude? Cheser Trust? Becca know what I mean. Yeah. We got that key. Yeah. We got that key.
[00:27:23] I cussed Brooke out. I said, what the hell are you doing? This is amazing. Right now, mind you. So I love y'all. Also, I just felt like. Best decision ever. No, it really did. That paid itself forward. But like, again, I love Lolo. But I also feel like every time I see Lolo. It's either with Brooke and Scott. Or they're in the pack of people helping them. And so like, I gagged a little. When they decided not to help people. But I also had to take a second.
[00:27:53] And remind myself like. Oh shit. This is episode seven. Like. You gotta. They gotta turn the Becca on. At some point in time. And so. I wasn't mad at it. But I loved. The fallout from it. Because I really feel like. In these type of games. When you put the Becca on. You gotta be strategic a little bit. Right? Like, you gotta like. Like, I feel like they could have been like. It's over there.
[00:28:23] Like, you know. Like, just. Yeah, I could have. The fallout was real. But that was my one. It is funny how like the littlest things. Like, get under people. And they're like. Well. They didn't look at me when I said something. And they were over there. And so now. I'm gonna U-turn them. It's just like. It's so intense. So fast. I feel like it's the same on Survivor. Yeah. And that's what I love. I will say. London came up to us at the end of this lag. And was. And they were so apologetic.
[00:28:53] I didn't even think anything of it. I was like. Oh, do you think they lied to us? Like, it didn't even. I wasn't mad at that. No way. Mike was pissed. Mike was legitimately pissed. And. Oh, fuck. Mike will get more. Mike will get more pissed as the days go on. So just. You know. For shadowing. But. Apparently. Mike and Liz have helped everybody. Now they did help. Mike did help me. So. I will say that. But. London and Logan flat out lie to Mike and Liz. And it's like. We're. We can't even hear you. Like. And just keep running. And they also lie to us.
[00:29:22] I didn't think it was such a big deal at the moment. But London felt so badly at the end of this lag. That it's not in the episode. She is like. We're so sorry. We didn't mean to send you the wrong way. Or like. Not give you the answer. And I'm like. Girl. I don't even know what just happened. What. It wasn't a big deal. Because it didn't. I mean. If we had gone home this lag. Then yeah. I probably would have made a voodoo doll. And stuck a pan in it a bunch of times. And called it London. But I would. Would never do such a thing. That's. Did she do that? Did she say that during the roadblock? Or did she say after.
[00:29:51] After the end of the lag. Because we finished the lag at the same time. Convenient. Convenient. Yeah. I know. Like. I don't know. Like. Do you think she would have apologized? Girl. I went into the roadblock in last place. And jumped two people. This was the best day I ever had in my entire life. Does anybody talk about that? No. Do they talk about the fact that everybody helped me make a ladle? Sure do. Do you? But Brooke can do a couple of things on her own. Even with Liz talking to the camera. And saying I need to put my big girl pants on. Not for nothing Brooke.
[00:30:19] I know you feel like you hate the ladle situation. But I. Like. Again. Watching this. I felt like this was the same thing. Like. It was just like. You went into it. The same way. And you came out of it the same way. Like. You. Like. You crushed it. So. I. Again. This is what I mean. Where I like rewatch the episodes. And I'm like. You stressing about the ladle. Girl. I'll be stressing about the. The. The rock wall. But. I mean. I. I did do that too. You were there.
[00:30:49] You saw. In all fairness. My partner. Was trying to get the Italian guy's phone number. Right. And not holding on. But that's another story. Listen. It's pride month. And if we would have had to. Bury. Brooke. For Scott to meet a man. Worth it. I support. What? I'm glad. I'm glad. Don't bury her. Just 10 spoons. Thank you Floyd. I would have 10 spoons. Yeah. I wouldn't leave you for somebody Brooke.
[00:31:18] If we had to bury Brooke. For Scott to meet a man. That was too far. That was too far. Not bad. Just some scrapes. Just some scrapes. Just scrapes. Some band-aids. Small concussion. That's fine. Okay. So anyway. The streets of Venice. Are a legitimate maze. Like it was really difficult. And at least for us. It was difficult to navigate. So. Matt and Redman decide. They're going to do the brute force. One with the luggage. Like. And they're all. These bags each weigh. 150 pounds. The whole thing was 30. I think the bags were empty.
[00:31:48] I am fairly convinced. They had newspaper at best. In those bags. That's right. But that's. I think. You guys. Yeah. Go ahead. I think that was definitely a faster. Even though they had no idea. How to like. Use the cart things. It was a faster challenge. But it wasn't as fun. Yeah. And originally we had. We had selected that challenge. And we were like. Five seconds. Like on our way to start doing it. And we're like. But wait. Like when else are you going to get to. Like serenade in Venice.
[00:32:18] You know what I mean. So. We like. I think it's funny. It's like one of those things. Where we kind of like. Knew it might be faster. But. We also knew what experience. We were about to have. And maybe we would have made a different decision. This happened to us in other legs. We would have made a different decision. We'd probably be in the back half of the pack. I think. Right Becca. But like. I think we would have probably. I don't know. I. I remember like. In my like. Notes. Watching the amazing race. For all my upbringing. I was always like. Physical task. Always choose it. Always faster. But. At some point.
[00:32:48] It's like. Maybe for you. What's the difference. And. Yeah. We're literally here to like. Do absurd things. Yeah. And. It's probably. We didn't know what was faster. Yeah. And if you would have did the luggage challenge. It's not like they would have let you take the luggage. You got to keep the shirts. Unlike. Look at that. Charitable. Charitable. The best is. When the season was airing. I had a bunch of people over to my apartment. To watch an episode. And it was this episode. And Becca.
[00:33:17] I was wearing this shirt. And Becca shows up at my door. In the same shirt. And I was like. Yes. I knew you would. I knew you would. Came to New York City. Came to my apartment. And Becca and I are the only two. In the gondolier shirts. Because. We knew what was up. And so. We. We got the memo. Yeah. We knew the assignment. Exactly. So Floyd channels his inner Michael Jackson. And the two of you decide. That you're going to start. Singing on the gondola. I actually think Becca and Floyd's couple. Of actors. Were the best. Yes.
[00:33:47] They wanted so badly. For you guys to get it. They were like. Yes. It's so good. And then the judge was like. Do it again. And they're like. We tried. We tried. More together. More together. More together. More together. More everything. So. I thought you loved it on the first try. Honestly. So did I. What did you have to do? Three? Yeah. My theory. Like. It was like a loop. And so. If you don't get it on the loop. Then you have to do the loop again. But I bet they were like. Let's just sing it throughout the loop.
[00:34:16] And get all the footage. Yeah. So. It was a loop. And we actually got it on the first try. The only thing I ever did on the first try. But. They made us sing it again. Because we hadn't gotten to one of the points. Where they can drop you off. On this loop. Which is why when we saw you. And you were standing on the. Like trying to get a water taxi. Like that was the first stop. Of being able to. Or it was a stop. For being able to get off the boat. And so they're like. Just do it again. For funsies. Thankfully they didn't show. I'm like.
[00:34:46] For funsies. What do you mean? Like if we get it. Let us off this boat. Like show me where I can go. No. We had to do it twice. But you guys had. So cute. You just look like you're having a ball. So good. I need lessons from back end fluid. Perfection. So. Y'all killed it with the harmonies though. We actually had. I don't know if it was a harmony. Or just an octave thing. But. We need to let that go. That's a harmony. That counts. Count it. Totally. So Tara and Joey are doing the luggage.
[00:35:16] London and Logan catch up to Tara and Joey. And Logan makes a snarky comment about our favorites mom and dad being here. I think everyone other than Tara and Joey understood at this point that like. You know. We had a plan last time to get somebody out. And if it happened again. There was a plan to get the next team out. Because you know. Better. Them. Than. Us. That was just sort of my logic for the entirety of the thing. Mike and Liz find the singing. And you guys are in your boat at that point. And then Scott and I find the singing. Honestly.
[00:35:45] He wanted to practice this thing a hundred times. I'm like dude. Can we get in the boat? Like we're. Like we're fine. Like we're good. I wrote. I think my thing. Actually has. Phonetically. I wrote the whole thing. So Scott will tell you. He's not a language person. And so I have everything written out. In phonetics. Along with like little steps being like. This is the tune. You did the exact same thing. I think we had the same. Instructor. And loved him. And so you guys are in the boat. Doing your thing.
[00:36:14] And back at the luggage. The boys that found the hotel. I honestly think that that was so much easier. They only had to go to one place. Once you found it. And so they're in first place. Um. London and Logan are dropping bags everywhere. Joey is legitimately beasting his way through this. Like I give him a lot of credit. Because Tara. I don't think even touches the cart. Like Joey is. She's like yeah this way. And Joey's just basically doing it on his own. And so. Um. Matt and Redman are told they have to go to Cazenobio. For the next.
[00:36:44] Clue. Getting there. Not easy. But. And that's the thing. That I feel like. Like this episode does not. I. I feel like we see it with you Brooke. But I've been to Venice before. Bitch I didn't even know water taxis were a thing. Right? Like. Mm-hmm. The way that you would go down the alley. And there would be like a port. And you could just stand there. And nothing would come. Or you could go up the. Like. I just felt like.
[00:37:14] I felt the pain of like. Trying to find a water taxi. Because. It's crazy. And obviously like. Where there are super super populated areas. Who's trying to wait in a line for 20 minutes? Like. I want to be able to. Get there. And I wrote in my note. I said. Brooke's from New York. She better be able to get a water taxi. Becca. Do you. Do you remember when. You got that tussled. I think it was that water taxi.
[00:37:44] Because. I think it was. Yeah. Yeah. Like. You know. You always just feel like you're getting ripped off. Because you don't know anything. Like. This is true when you're traveling anywhere. You don't know what a water taxi is supposed to cost. And so. It was like. 50 euros or something. For like. This like. Five minute drive. Five minute boat ride. And then it was like. 50 euros. Like. No. You're like. Ripping me off. And then the Italian guy was not happy with that. He was mad. Yeah. He was pissed. I was like. Okay. Okay. Here's my money. Like. Don't shoot. I was just like. It's not our money. It's CBS's money.
[00:38:14] Let's just go. You know. Yeah. But. And then I talked to everyone else. We're always. Like. We always get off. And we're like. How much was your taxi? What did they charge you? Because we're just trying to like. See. Did we get ripped off? And pretty much always. Everyone said. Same thing. Yeah. So. I was like. Okay. That was. Just how much a water taxi costs. Pretty much. Thanks. You found one. I will say that we went to the.
[00:38:44] Like that stand. And I was like. I think this is more like the subway. Than a taxi. And it was confirmed for me. By Bertram at the end of the leg. That that was not a water taxi. If we got on like. The main bigger boat. Would not have counted as a water taxi. So there probably would have been a penalty for that. So I'm glad that we ended up going to a hotel. And ordering a water taxi. Oh nice. After. And they did not show. I watched it this morning. And I'm like. Man this was so much worse than they should. Usually they showed the worst of Brooke. But in this moment. They actually didn't show up. Scott and I argued for.
[00:39:14] What felt like days. Because we couldn't find a cab. And we're like. It's the worst. When you feel like you're actually. Doing a task that you're good at. And I'm like. Oh my god. We actually did well at something. And now we're back in the back. Because we can't find a way to get to the next thing. And I was like. I'm just jumping in this water. It's over for me. Like I'm just. We just were not getting along. Along that day. But. Tara and Joey find their hotel. And they're on their way to the roadblock. And at the roadblock. You have to choose an actor. From this. Commedia Del Arte.
[00:39:45] Recreation. And make a mask. That is like one of the masks. That people are wearing. Red is in there. He's doing the roadblock. He's following directions. Tara and Joey are in their taxi. Liz and Mike somehow find a taxi quickly. London and Logan convince a family. On their way to the airport. To take them in their taxi. Which is. Incredible. And good for them. Question. Because Brooke. You're always giving me inside. Would they have had to stop. To have that whole family sign releases. To be on.
[00:40:15] So. Although it looks like. It's faster. It's faster. It could have been. Okay. All right. I mean. They had to sign while they were on the taxi. Exactly. They could have been on the way. Yeah. See. I'm just so slow. Like. I imagine like. You're on the side of the taxi. They're like. You've got to sign this. You've got to sign this. You've got to sign this. You've got to sign this. Legal review it. And then you get on the taxi. Okay. Like that. That makes so much more sense. Yeah. And if someone absolutely refuses. That's fine. Like. You can just leave. Right. Like. They.
[00:40:45] They'll just want to use that footage. Or they could have just blurred out their faces. And you could have still been on the taxi. So even if they didn't want to sign it. Is that a method though? Could you be like. Say it's me and Brooke racing. And we're in Becca's hometown. And Becca is. The bird. Walking by. Asking us. And Becca saying no. But she won't help us. Can we be like. Just blow her face out. Let's go Becca. Yeah. They would use. They always ask. Yeah. They'll always ask. And she doesn't want to sign it. You'll just. You'll see. Over the course of the season.
[00:41:13] Sometimes a taxi driver has his face blurred out. Or somebody. You could just see the back of their head. And whatnot. Yeah. They'll blur it out. The amazing race is so good about. I feel anyway. I think you guys would agree. About not messing with. How it works. So. On this leg actually. I remember. Another behind the scenes moment. Matt and Redmond were running so quickly. That they actually. Their. Camera guy. Or sound guy. Somebody couldn't. Didn't keep up with them.
[00:41:42] And got on a boat behind them. Because. Oh yeah. They were not. I remember. Going to stop them. And slow them down. So. I think that was in Lake Como. Was that like. Was it Lake Como? Okay. Fine. Last thing. Yeah. But they. The amazing race. Will not alter results. Like. Things happen. The way that they happen. It is a very fair. Thing. And you will not be slowed down. Even by. Like a crew member. Who can't keep up with you. Which shouldn't happen to us. Because. You know. They can keep up with me. But teams that were faster. Well. Yeah.
[00:42:12] Yeah. I believe that statement to be true. But I did see Danny and Angie season. Where their sound guy got lost. And it actually held them up. And they actually got eliminated that day. So I just do want to reserve the right. To just say. Reason 237. Why. Angie and Danny deserved. To stay in the race. Well technically. You're not supposed to go more than 30 feet.
[00:42:42] From your sound and camera person. So that was. Potentially a faux pas. On them. Not to say that that. Is easy to do. Because we all. Broke that rule. But. But they were tracking each other. But they were like in a car. Oh. I don't remember. They were in a car. But I think that. It's in a car. Specifically. You need to. Make sure you keep your. Like. If I'm driving my car. That ain't my responsibility. That's the. That's the. The sound of camera guy. Yeah. I agree with that.
[00:43:12] We can do a whole separate. Podcast. About. The legitimacy. Of Danny and Angie's elimination. From the amazing race. But today. It's about us Bryce. It's about team fun. Sorry. And. I will say. On. Just on that. Like. Release form note. I did remember. Like a few times. When we would be like. In a hustle. And sometimes. Our camera guy. Would be like. Don't worry. Didn't get his face. And we would be like. Yes. Yes. Thank you. That.
[00:43:41] That's the camera guy. That's for me. That's what you want. Yes. Yes. That's the guy you want. Meanwhile. Also. You'd have someone be like. You need to wait. Hold on. Let me explain this release to you. In full detail. And I'm like. Just a minute. Yeah. I will go Becca on the camera guy. Respectfully though. Respectfully. Hurry the fuck up. Exactly. Meanwhile. Becca and Floyd have sang. Beautifully. And they got their clue. Liz and Mike need to do it again. Brooke and Scott also are getting their clue.
[00:44:11] And have to get off the thing. But we can never find a water taxi. Because we're from disaster. And London and Logan have found the luggage place. And Becca wants to swim to Cousin Obio. Because she. Whatever. You guys find a water taxi fairly quickly. It seems. No. It took a second. No. It took you a while. Yeah. I don't think it took us super long. But it was immediate. Were you able to hail one? Because we could not. And we had to. We hailed. But I think we had. I feel like we like ran out of the detour one direction. Ran all the way around somewhere.
[00:44:40] And then ended up coming back. Going right past where we started. And like right on the other side of it. Was like where the water taxis were. Like so had we like gone the right way from the beginning. It would have been chill. So maybe that's what some of the teams who got it faster did. Probably. We went to a hotel ultimately. And I was like can you call us a cab please. We are in dead last. And it's a disaster. So even though we didn't finish last there. We ended up last. Because everyone got to the roadblock. Except us. So Red there.
[00:45:10] Tara and Joey find it. Tara decides to do it. Red gets his yes. And they're on their way to the pit stop. And they are lucky enough at this point. To get finally. Get their first first place. Seven legs into the race. And Redman makes. I don't know. The 18 million leg joke. Get that. If it's one thing he gonna do. Is he gonna get a leg up on the situation. Okay. There is. To me. I feel like they were constantly telling him to talk about his leg. Like. I feel like production chooses that one like.
[00:45:39] Thing about you. Like for me it was like drum major. And like band. And they're always like. How does this tie to this? How does this tie to that? And sometimes it's. To his credit. I mean yeah. He's a corny dude. But I also think like. He was just like in this mindset. Where everyone's always talking about his leg. And reducing his identity to that kind of. Right. And also to his credit. I don't know if you guys remember this. But I very much remember. At the end of this leg. Redman had some sort of like. I don't know if it was an allergic reaction. Yeah. That's a sort of issue with his knee. That was like. That was several legs ago.
[00:46:09] Yes. But I remember him taking off the leg on the steps here. And I remember him just having like this horrible. Like. Rash. Rash of some sort. Yeah. Like whether it was a contact rash. Or just something had gotten to him. You will never know it. Dude did not complain. Yeah. It was crazy. He was gnarly. Struggling. So. Both of our seasons on the race. People have some skim stuff going on. Yeah. Our second season. Do you remember? Rachel had like some crazy like chest rash. And it wasn't just her. There were a few people. It wasn't.
[00:46:39] Yeah. I mean. Yeah. So. Did you guys like jump in some body of water or something? I mean. Yeah. Like. It might have been. Yeah. I don't know. Like that first leg. Like the Panama water. My shoes smelled the whole time from that stuff. So. I don't know. Redman also got a cut on his leg from something. Anything got infected or something. Yeah. I think. I mean. You ask him. I remember. I gave him a bottle. It's like a wetsuit.
[00:47:06] Like thing that went over to like attach his leg to his leg. So. I brought a bottle of like anti rash cream on the race. Just because I was like. I don't know. Feels useful. I just gave it to him like four legs in. Wait. And that was just a. That. Was that something that is normal? Or that. In your preparation. You was like at the local pharmacy. And it like anti rash. You was like. I'm going to take it. Like what? Literally the latter.
[00:47:35] I was just like. I don't know. It couldn't hurt. Like one ounce. I don't know. Come on. Come on. Team fun and team safe. Now. What I loved about this. D. Was this a roll block? The. The mask. The mask. Yeah. And I'm sure it's editing. But I don't believe it to be editing. Like I just love. When Floyd gets in there. And he's like. I've got to pay attention to the mask. Let me look at the mask. See which one I want.
[00:48:04] I even love how he's like. Would you mind. If I. Look at this black. Out of control. Yes. And then it's like. Once he. I think you said something to the effect of like. Slow. Slow and steady. Yeah. Wins the race. And I was like. Oh. We about to get good. Slow and unsteady. Also sometimes. Yeah. What? I said what I said. Deal with it. Now. Wait. Wait. Wait. Because listen.
[00:48:33] I'm only buttering. I am only. Buttering Floyd up. Because. Quick question. After you. Realize. You gotta. You gotta. Pat you gotta. Pat. Pat that mask. Okay. After you realize. Really thought we were going to get a real rap there. For a second. Jerry. Exciting. And you.
[00:49:03] Discover and leave. Did you share that information? Is what I want to know. Okay. Yes. So I did share that information. I think. Here's what I was thinking in that moment. And this is also a decade. A year ago. So this could be wrong. I don't know what happened. I think 50% of me. Was just like. Adrenaline pumping. We're on our way to the pit stop. Doesn't matter. Right. And I was just like. Let me just help her out real quick. And plus. It's not like I'm doing it for her. The other 50% of me. And this is what I know is true. Is I thought about this before the race. Is that. I would be willing.
[00:49:32] Like while I don't want to straight up align with someone. I'm willing to help people out. Up until the final four. That was my personal threshold. When I was going to say. I'm cutting off any assistance. Right. And I think I was thinking that. Because I knew like there were U-turns. And things along the way. I'm just saying. I know Becca's down. That is a thought I had. Okay. I just want to. Because listen. I was. I was. I would still be there. If Floyd. I just want to know. Here 10 years later. Becca. I'm not that good at math.
[00:50:01] But in order to get to four. You got to get to seven. Right. That's correct. You got to get to six. You got to get to five. It wouldn't have mattered. Just you wait. Just you wait. And see how much Floyd helps other people. Oh my gosh. Look. In this specific situation. This ain't the worst of it. In this specific situation. It wouldn't have mattered. Because even if they had done the. Had the speed bump or whatever. We still got lost. Spoiler alert. The next episode. So. Whatever.
[00:50:31] But yeah. No. I get it. Okay. That wasn't me. I didn't say anything. Watching Floyd. I agree. Watching Floyd do that challenge. I was just like. No wonder everyone loves team fun. Like. How could you not. Love. This kid. He is so endearing. You want to know it's so effed up. And I'm sorry. Spoiler alert. But it's only for next week. And we have team fun here right now. But. And Bryce. I'll give as little of a spoiler as I can. But Floyd helps Tara.
[00:51:00] And then Tara screws over Floyd. It's so messed up. Watch next week. It is messed up. She would still be there. And that's why we said. Take them down. Okay. What they call it. A barometer. Is it called a barometer? A fun meter. Okay. That's why my fun reader. Is always on Becca. There we go. There we go. Bryce. And Floyd came out. And he goes. Becca. I did it. I know.
[00:51:30] I was like. I did it. I did it. I did it. Mom. I did it. Mom. I'm just going to say. There was. Floyd. I wasn't there for the reaction. Because I went inside. But I will say. My favorite moment. Maybe of the entire season. So we get there. We finally find a taxi. We go in. Scott's like. Do you got this? And I was like. Probably not. But whatever. Let's try it. And so I go up there. Floyd's out of there. He's in second place. Because. And just. I have to say. Floyd. When you get it.
[00:52:00] And she's like. Belize the moment. You're like. You're like. Floyd was like. Does that mean. Do it again? I was so shocked. You were so excited. And it was just so lovely. And wonderful. And I was so happy. That you guys were out of there. But then I wrote. Why on earth did you help Tara? But that's fine. It's fine. London and Logan show up there on fifth. And then we show up. And I'm not excited about doing it. But when am I ever excited about doing anything. And I get in there. And. Liz. First of all. Well okay. Because you get her.
[00:52:30] Because I'm a get her. But mind you. I do also want to say. Your approach. Was similar to Floyd's. And finding the mask. Like. Same writing. Different font. Right? Like you know. Yours was like. Kid. Kindergarten. Learning how to write cursive. Right? Like. Because she was like. Wait. What do I got to do here? What do I got to do here? But I. I. And I liked Liz and Michael. But listen. Brooke is my co-host. Okay? Liz said. Put your big girl panties on.
[00:53:00] Mama. Mama. Do you have your big girl panties on? Because. Okay. That's it. I'm a. That's it. I didn't know she said any of that. FYI. You can't hear. She said it quietly enough. That like. I was in my zone. She was in hers. I had no idea. But I walk in. And you know me. I'm going to ask them to start over the. I would be like. Can we just start from the beginning? Like. Close mouths. Don't get fed. Always ask for it. So I walk over. I'm like. What did you do before this? What? And I'm just asking everybody.
[00:53:29] Because. What's the worst they're going to say? Is shut the fuck up. And don't. Come and talk to me. And so. I'm. I don't. I don't know how to shut up. And so. I'm just talking to everybody. And. Tara's doing it wrong. Liz is doing it wrong. London's doing it right. But thankfully. She's not telling everybody else. They're doing it wrong. And I decide to wait a few minutes. Before I start. Because I'm not going to do it wrong. Because I'm nothing. If not. Detail oriented. And I'm nothing else. Let's be fair.
[00:53:57] This is one gripe. I have with. You know. The Facebook community. Because. Okay. Wait. Time out. There. I didn't even talk about. We got up. We have to just break. Floyd and Becca down. Okay. I'm not sure you guys' age. But. Floyd wasn't old enough to drink. When he started. When he went on the drinking race. No. When I applied. When I applied.
[00:54:26] I wasn't old enough to drink. The race itself. I was freshly turned. During y'all season. I was in. I had. I just went into the third grade. So that like tells you how old I am. Okay. As so. Even though you're. You know. He's lying. Even though he's just a survivor. Right. Brooke. Literally just a survivor. Yeah. Brooke is a lot older than us. And so. I'm a thousand. Brooke bases a lot of. Fan. Criticism. Via Facebook. Like. Brooke will call me. Like.
[00:54:56] Can you believe. Someone on Facebook. I said girl. What? Okay. And then Brooke's like. I ordered you a birthday gift. Uh. I saw something on Facebook. And they said it's going to be here next year. Girl. Why are you ordering. It never happened. But. Okay. I just. Just wanted to give you a little. Background on Brooke. And Facebook. The point that I was making. Was. Middle America. Didn't love us. Because. You know. Because. Whatever. Go on Reddit.
[00:55:26] We're superstars. Go on Facebook. We should be killed. And so. The Facebook. Was happy. To talk about the fact. That Brooke got all of this help. From every other cast member. Which she did. On the ladle. But. Nobody speaks about the fact. That we went into that roadblock. In dead last. And not even by a minute. By like. A little while. And then jumped over two teams. One of those teams being an artist. Who is also one of my closest friends. So I love her. And I'll never say anything bad. But.
[00:55:55] Jumped over two teams. To come out and forth. My favorite moment. Of the entire season. Absent. Obviously. The start line. And the finish line. Is this moment. Where. Where. I finish the task. Because I'm doing the thing. And I'm like. This looks. This looks good. I'm just gonna try. Because what's the worst that could happen. Is they tell me no. One of the producers. Was standing right there. And I sort of looked at him. And I looked at my mask. And I looked at him. And I was like. This is good. I'm gonna give it a shot. And then when they tell me. Yes. You can. If you pause.
[00:56:25] Because I did. You can see Liz's face being like. And I walk outside. And I'm just like. Here. And you can tell Scott's like. Is she freaking out? Like. Does she not do it? And then I was like. Here's the clue. The fact that he's like. Oh my god. Oh my god. Oh my god. You did it. Because what happened earlier. When you watched the episode. Is Scott's like. If Brooke can keep her cool. I think we're okay. And Joey's like. Nice knowing you. Because. I don't know how to keep my cool. But when I came out. And we jumped in front of those two teams. Scott's reaction.
[00:56:55] So good. Is my favorite moment. Of the entire time. Yeah. And they say. You can't keep your cool. The moment. You should be freaking out. The moment. You like. What do we do now? Where do we go? I'm like. Brooke. It was funny. It was funny. I wish I'd heard Liz's commentary. As it was going on. Because I had no idea. She was saying these things. But in watching the episode. The editing is just so perfect. Where she's like. Put your big girl pants on. And then. I mean. I felt for her.
[00:57:24] Because this has got to feel badly. When you're doing something. You think you're good at. And then. You just keep being told no. But. Read. Read the clue. Follow the direction. I'm solid. That's what I love about. The answers were there. Though. Like. Although I've never played it. I've only watched it. Via. My bed. With food. And air conditioner. And. As you lay there. Listen. We have guests. But you know. He watches in the nude. Sometimes. After. You know. A joint has been in the air.
[00:57:54] So I'm just chilling. And like. I think it's always funny. Where it's like. They say it every season. Read your clue. And so. It's always astounding to me. Like with Tara and Liz. That are like. I paint at home. Like. You think you just gonna paint this mask. And it be done. And so. Again. Why I just love. Floyd. This episode. Because he's just like. Oh. Oh yeah. Oh. Yeah.
[00:58:24] Oh. The paper towel. Oh. It's just like. I love. That. Because it's like. Again. With the adrenaline. As simple as you might think. It will be. You'll get into a situation. And you're like. Let's go. Let's go. Let's go. Let's go. And this is one of. The only times. I'm saying. I'm not a Becca. But like. I want to be a Floyd. In those situations. Where it's like. Be observant. Be patient. Listen.
[00:58:54] Normally I would be. A lot to learn from Floyd. I mean. From both of you. Let's be fair. So. But when Floyd gets there. And he's like. And now I'm gonna take the paper towel. And I gotta wipe it off. I'm thinking myself. Be quiet. It's like. Having been in the room. No one could hear him say that. Because I couldn't hear. It is at the table next to me. Say the things that she was saying. So. It's not like Floyd was announcing to the room. What you're supposed to do. Until you were announcing to the room. You. Floyd. Which was fine. I know. It didn't affect us.
[00:59:23] But it affected some of us. Yeah. Ever. That could have been a thing. But. Well I had my clue. So I guess. I'm just like. I'm peeping out. Floyd is the only person. Correct me if I'm wrong. But Floyd is the only person. Who took his mask with him. And carried that mask. Do you still have it? No. It's like. It started getting destroyed. By like. So I had to get rid of it. Yeah. He took it with him. And was like. I'm gonna take this as a souvenir. Yeah. I thought. I thought he was gonna say charity. I was like. Oh my God. He really is a good thing. Such good people. I think it's just the shirt.
[00:59:53] Everything else I've kept. That I have. I love that Floyd was like. Yeah. Tara just seemed to be doing her own thing. This wasn't exactly what she needed to be doing. Like that's Floyd. Like giving shade. It's just. Floyd and London. London's all like. So I saw Liz doing it. And she was doing it. I want to say she was doing it good. But no. She was not good. It was just that. Yeah. And then she goes. Liz is like. Does this look good? And London's like. Uh huh. Yeah.
[01:00:22] Totally. So good. To me. It looks like it's supposed to. Anyway. Tara finally gets her yes. And. It's funny. Because you see us all. We're like hugging each other. And congratulating her. And London and I are just like. Hope neither one of us goes home. Like right in front of Liz. We're like. We're really now. At this point. Becca and Floyd. Get to the pit stop. They are team number two. Which is. I mean. I would have been thrilled. But I feel like there was a little part of you guys. That were like. So close to first again. Yeah. A hundred percent. Yeah. We were definitely starting to get into that space.
[01:00:52] We were like. Okay. We're actually pretty decent at this. And so. Which kind of like. I mean. I would say more than decent. Right. It backfires. Yeah. It backfires. It's a mindset that you got to be. It's a dangerous place to be. It is a dangerous place to be. Being middle of the pack is probably actually like. The safest. A hundred percent. Place to be throughout the game. That's why we did it. That's. That's totally why. Not because. We were. Masterful. We were masterful. We were totally on purpose. Like that was the reasoning. Uh huh. Yep. Totally. So. Was the last. Was like.
[01:01:21] Six your first. First place. Yep. It was. Mm hmm. At last. But first. Anyway. So you guys come in second. I remember. This is one of the legs where when you finish. Everyone was still sort of there. So it was kind of cool. Because the finish line was. Everyone was sort of plumped together. Pretty closely. So you guys are there. And I remember seeing you. When we ran to the finish line. But Liz gets a no. And she starts to freak out a little bit. And I. Actually. They shall be having fun. Which means that you know. I didn't complain at all. Because had I complained.
[01:01:51] They absolutely would have shown it. So I was having a good time. I go over. I get my beliefs mo. Which was incredible to me. At this point. Tara and Joey have checked into the pit stop. Thank you Floyd. And. We get a yes. London gets a yes. Right after. And Liz is alone. Which. Is sort of poetic. Based on the things that she just said. That she had just said. And so. We work with. London and Logan. To find the pit stop. But. Like we knew earlier. I don't know. Did you guys have a problem. Finding that pit stop.
[01:02:20] We ran so far. Over the wrong bridges. And the wrong direction. I don't think so. We got directions. We just kind of did it. I remember there was a ton of. This was like the most touristy lake. By far. So I remember there was a lot of like. People looking at us. Being like amazing race. This and that. And so that was kind of. It was really crowded. But I think we kind of just did it. Right. Like we. Yeah. One side directions. And it was like left, right, left, right. Straight. I think Floyd and I had pretty good strategy. When it came to like on foot directions. Where we would like. Go a certain amount. And then ask again.
[01:02:49] And then go a little bit more. And ask again. And we were always kind of like. We wouldn't go too far before we'd ask. But we would like. Run with it. And then ask. And kind of. I think we probably asked like. At least twice. But yeah. It was like pretty straightforward. That's the smart way to do it. Yeah. We actually. Ran the wrong way over a bridge. And I was like. Guys we got to ask. Because there were the four of us. And we just knew Liz and Mike were behind us. And we didn't know if it was elimination or not. Or what the deal was. And I remember being like. I'm stopping. We're asking. And Logan's like. Okay. Yeah.
[01:03:19] And it turns out. We ran the wrong way over a bridge. So we got back. And Liz and Mike probably finished. Like within 10 minutes. Of when we got there. But Bryce. I know you'll appreciate this little behind the scenes tip. But so. You know. I read every rule to this game. Forwards. Backwards. And sideways. And the rule with the amazing race. Is if there is a tie. You. The person who goes home. Is based on the placement from the previous leg. And so. London Logan. And Scott and myself. Were running together in this leg.
[01:03:47] And I said to Scott. Step on the mat one second before them. Like make sure we're on that mat one second before. So we actually finish in fourth. And they finish in fifth. This is for a second before. Because. In the next leg. If God forbid. We were together again. And we were at the end. And it was a tie. It wouldn't have been us who went home. So there were just these little things. Where I was like. I love that. Mm-hmm. Was there any pushback from Scott though. When after you guys finished. And like you instantly like link back up with Lolo. After they lied to you.
[01:04:17] Was there any pushback. To kind of work with them. To get to the pit stop. No. Or you guys were just all the way in it. And just saying. I didn't even like. Think about it. I said Scott. Scott. I know. I know how you. But I also think that he wasn't thinking about it either. We just knew there was one team behind us. And it was get there before the last team. Okay. No. And honestly. We had gotten so lost. And so turned around. All of these canals. And London and Logan did say that they got to. The detour quickly. So we're like. Okay.
[01:04:46] Let's use their sense of direction. If they know where they're going. And they're better at this part than we are. It's not about anything that happened. Other than getting there before. Liz and Mike at that point. Cute. So we get there. And then we find out it's a non-elimination. Honestly. We're so happy. Because I have no idea. That Liz just bad mouthed me for the last 20 minutes. But that's fine. We. And do you guys. Do you guys remember sitting there? Did you hear this as this was happening? Yeah. Yeah. I remember. Yeah.
[01:05:17] I remember like Mike actually like tripped on the way. Yes. He did. He did. So embarrassing. I'm glad they didn't put that in. They didn't show it. They had to show it twice. What was the COVID season? What season was that? Season 33. 33, 34, and 36. Okay. And so those. That's like my birth. Really into Amazing Race. And so like I always think of Arun and Natalya. Where I think like they got so blessed. Like they like.
[01:05:46] They literally brought them back. And so I always love watching these older episodes with Brooke. Because like I could see the foreshadowing of the future. And I really feel like Liz and Mike have a little Arun and Natalya in them. Because they, this season, have been the benefit of the non-elimination legs. And so I love that. My cuss out is to Phil and to Phil himself.
[01:06:14] In these older seasons, as opposed to the newer seasons, I feel like in the newer seasons, every time Luke, like you'll read, or when Phil does his like, and Becca can find me at the top of Mount Everest. And the team may or may not go home. Like he says that in the newer seasons, somebody may or may not be eliminated. I feel like in this season, every time somebody gets eliminated, he'd be like,
[01:06:43] a team will go home. But in these, both of these times that it was a non-elimination, it was very ominous of like, and someone may go home. And just for me, with a little joint in the air, naked on the bed, it's like, I want to get, like, can I be surprised, Phil? Oh, okay. The views of Bryce do not reflect the views of everybody on the podcast. I love you, Phil. Please bring us back for a future season. Thank you. Okay.
[01:07:13] Just want to be very clear about that. So anyway, at the pit stop, it's a non-elimination. And like you said, there have been two non-elimination legs. One was a keys bracing. One was a non-elimination. Mike and Liz have been the beneficiary of both of those. And Phil tells them in the next leg, you will have a speed bump to which Mike says they're going to have to, sorry, they're going to have to do more than a speed bump to get us out of here, to which I say in the biggest, boldest font ever, foreshadowing. Watch next week, Bryce.
[01:07:43] Oh, hell. Because it's going to be something. Exciting. People were not happy. I was happy, but people were. It was sweet how genuinely excited everyone was that they weren't eliminated because I feel like you never, like, you always want a team to be eliminated. Right. So it's just like the genuine excitement was very like, oh, wow, they're so happy about this. You're not going to celebrate in their face if they're, or they'll do their pout if they are saved, you know? Yeah.
[01:08:12] Well, I guess. Let's be honest, though. Let's be fair. This had to be. Mike and Liz were fairly, like, beloved amongst the cast. Like, we all liked each other. If there had been a different team and it had been an elimination, if you were on the mat with the team, not them, and they were eliminated, I feel like it wouldn't have been a horrible thing to be like, oh, nice try. Sorry, bye. You did great. Like if you and Scott had been eliminated.
[01:08:43] Dang. Wow. Wow. I love that. Can you hear my heart a little bit, Rebecca? Oh, full name drop. Ouch. Hurtful. Bryce, hang on. Well, listen, well, this has been so exciting. Becca and Floyd. No, wait. Can we?
[01:09:15] No, you can't. Because is there anything else that, like, we missed that you want to talk about or say or say to the people watching? Or, I mean, you guys know how beloved you are amongst the fandom of Amazing Race. Like, this is the chant. Anything you want to say, clear up, talk about, apologize for, Becca, whatever. To anybody and everybody. If season 40 calls and say, what's up, team fun.
[01:09:42] You trying to fun it up? I'm trying to fun it up. Oh, yeah. I'm already training for half marathon right now. You know what I'm saying? I got to get my cardio on. Your cardio is fine. Right. Becca's trying to downplay Floyd. She's trying to. Oh, strategically. Yeah. Here goes Floyd. Again. I'm on the couch. That's what I've been doing. I've looked up. Just so I'm curious. Now I kind of want to know, because I thought Becca and I were in good standing.
[01:10:10] If we all get to go back on season, let's say 40. Are we being thrown to the wolves, Becca? No. Or do we have an understanding that until final four. That was a deal. We were friends. We love each other. So we can laugh together. I love you so much. Brooke on a Brooke. Okay. Yeah. I love Becca. I remember Becca and myself. And who else were we with? We're in like Central Park in the dark.
[01:10:40] And started like rapping. And Becca looked at me and she was like, didn't know you could do that. And I'm like, I was. I'm a singer. Musical theater. Yeah. Musical theater. I can rhyme for four bars, but not like she can. But, you know, enough to hold my own when it came to me. So, you know. High standard of, a high place of respect there for me, for sure. Yeah. Yeah. What I will say is if we're all ever back on the show together, what I've learned from
[01:11:10] this call is I am not supposed to help you. So I'm going to take this as my permission. You're not supposed to help Tara. You're supposed to help. I don't know. I think I'm not supposed to help anybody. So I like love you. I'll just, I'll literally, I think my phrase would be, I love you, but I can't. And then I'm just going to leave. This is my strategy probably. Yeah. Right. Yeah. We'll see. I know. We'll see. Zach is like, you're too nice for that. You would never leave. That's why I said I love you. I said I love you. Yeah. That's how you start. Yeah. That's how you start things. Yeah.
[01:11:40] This is so fun. I just like love being able to continue to hang out with Floyd and you, Brooke, and get to be with like survivor people and amazing race people from other seasons through these podcasts. It's just like fun to shoot the shit and talk about the old good old days and watch these episodes that are just like bring me a lot of joy. Cause I don't like go back and watch them very much. So it's really fun to rewatch and just be like, that was me.
[01:12:09] Like that's us. That's us. Does it freak you out? Right. Like I'm looking at the screen and I'm like, wait a second. I know her. I am her. Like, does it still feel weird to you? Because it does to me looking at it. The whole experience feels like it was a dream. Even like the immediate years afterwards. Like I still can't believe I did it. And the fact that it was like a decade ago at this point is like, I just, I don't know. Can't believe it. It's stuff like this. If anyone gets to do it again, I feel like you'll get, you guys will be asked back over and over and over because you're just, you're team fun.
[01:12:37] I mean, I think the sort of running joke between our teams was they were team comedy and we were team tragedy and it just sort of worked out that we all got along really well together. And so, I mean, that is the epitome of Beck and Floyd right there. Just doing the side that seemed like it would be more enjoyable, even if it wasn't the side that was faster. And it always just worked out for you both. Yeah. Almost always. Well, it's working out at this point. At this point it worked out. Yeah. When you have a choice.
[01:13:07] We won't spoil the rice that wants to come next. But when you have a choice, you choose correct. I'm curious, Brooke, for you, like what's your experience watching yourself and all that and like your perception of like what, like your edit? I, when I first watched it, cause you know, we don't get to see it before it airs. So when it first aired, I had no idea how I was going to be edited and you both know me well enough to know that I never shut up, but I don't really, I look back and I'm like,
[01:13:33] I said that, like that sounds like me because it was, but I don't remember saying half the things that I said. And so I really, I didn't want to do this this time and recap the season. Cause I just had thoughts in my head that it was so much worse than it was, but I'm really appreciative. Thank you, Bryce for making us do this because it's so much more fun than I remembered it being when I watched it. Probably cause I'm so far removed from it, but it's not nearly as bad as I remember it being.
[01:14:02] And even in the worst moments, it's still, you can, I've always had the ability to laugh at myself, even though I seem like a high shrug nut job, I can poke fun at myself. And I was a mess like a lot of the time, but it's a joyful mess because it was just, I wouldn't trade it for anything. And hopefully we'll get a chance to go experience it together again sometime because I just love you both so much. And so thank you both for coming. And this was, sorry, Bryce. Now you're good to go. I just wanted to.
[01:14:31] I do have a note here. Okay. Thank you. We're not, thank you. Thank you. Okay. No shade to Floyd, but me and Becca, we see each other. No, I get it. I'll let you two do it. Brooke, listen. Just a line or just, you can just recite this. Do you remember this? Do you remember how it goes? Do you know Becca's brother was in Italy? So Becca sent us a video.
[01:15:01] Becca and sister-in-law were in Venice, hopped on a gondola, had some music, somehow downloaded. They spent like weeks memorizing this song and planning this vision. It was like my brother, I applied to be on the race with David. And so this was like his, like a bit of like a representation of this moment for him that he could like go and do a challenge. And so he, like me, gets very attached to a vision.
[01:15:30] And he did. I mean, they executed the vision perfectly by doing this song on a gondola. But that more together line that like we, Floyd and I kept getting feedback on was something that like became this like message to him through his process of like trying to create this moment of like doing this song and like creating like some disconnect between him and his wife through the process.
[01:16:00] Because he was just like, we have to get on the gondola and like do this song and like get the right shot and all this stuff. And, and then like the message was like more together. Like the point of this is to like be connected and do this fun thing. And yeah, they nailed it. It was pretty amazing. Where did they get the background track from? They found the song. I don't even know where the song came. I didn't think this was a real song, but apparently it is. Um, do you guys remember? Girl, you're the opera singer.
[01:16:28] You know, I'm not going to do this by myself. Don't, don't do that. That's not going to happen. Love your dinner. Yeah. There you go. Okay. It's so good. Your turn, Brooke. I, um, that's what I remember. The mic didn't even pick it up. Yeah. Which honestly sounded beautiful.
[01:16:56] I like that's all I remember, but it was perfection. It was a great day. It was a great time. I'm so happy that you both were here. Will you please come back and do this again sometime soon? Oh, I'd love to. Sure. And now I know allies to the final four. Maybe. Yeah. He's on a roadblock. Apparently I love you, but. That's the lesson you all just taught me from this cause. I'm just, that's all. I'm just taking what I've learned. Floyd, I have your back until final four.
[01:17:25] Every time we ever are out there together. Oh, that's really thoughtful. I'll just, I'll decide if I feel the same way. But I love you. I really do. I'ma just be quiet. But listen. Like Scott, you're going to just be quiet and then keep talking. Got it. Go ahead. Listen, my glasses always have full. And today it runneth over because we had team fun and it's always amazing podcasting with you, Brooke. We can't thank everyone enough for watching.
