[00:01:46] Ooh, listen. I think this episode deserves a woo-chale because we are on Season 29, Episode 4. The Ladle and my co-host who happens to be a contestant on this summer's rewatch of Amazing Race Season 29, Miss Brooke Cam. Hi, baby.

[00:02:07] Bang. She has an episode and we got a lot to get into. So ladle this, ladle that. Let's get into this week's Pit Stop. And we are back.

[00:02:37] with your some rewatch of amazing race season 29 episode four the season is boy oh boy is it heating up and of course i am here with my pit stop co-host the contestant of season a contestant of season 29 miss brooke cam hi how are you today i'm so excited this was

[00:03:04] reminding me of one of the best days of my life so i'm so into doing this today this is there are really two episodes this whole season where i was like i would rewatch it except for maybe two days and this is one of them so yay also really bad allergies so my eyes are swollen so i'm in glasses so it's just not a great day all around well i mean it's cool the episode was episoding i know you

[00:03:33] gave me a forewarning about this episode and so i was you know going into it thinking the absolute worst and i don't think it was actually that bad i you know i thought you were brooke i i mean if anything shamar and sarah saved you in more ways than one yeah um but yeah this was a great episode i mean i of course i have some cuss outs to give i'm ready

[00:04:02] no but the time comes but i know that you're gonna come for me a little and i deserve it and that's fine but i know they're not all for me because i rewatched this i have rewatched the season a couple times over the past decade and or nine years and um it's not as bad as i remember it being i keep telling you

[00:04:26] it still brings back a whole lot of memory listen brooke is brooke and that's one thing that ain't never gonna change and so we listen you are who you are and the more you i actually felt like this episode was really empowered okay so the naysayers to say whatever for you for everyone for people watching that like you know you could do what you say you can't do so i thought it was

[00:04:52] great i um i have a new order please continue i have a new i have a new order of teams that i'm loving i'm still loving ashton and vanc uh is it mike and liz they're my new winna pigs okay because at this point it's like what can mike not do i like i just i don't understand it

[00:05:19] the answer is run and he'll be the first to tell you that because i too have the same answer also it was a thousand degrees in africa at this time not a thousand but very hot and a little behind the scenes information you're told between each leg you know about safety concerns about we talked about last week about you know floyd wasn't allowed to hug the cab driver and realize that

[00:05:43] you know little things it was ramadan at this time so uh we were told no eating in front of it like if you have a bar or something you can't you can't i mean you can't if you go into a corner and face away but no eating or drinking like on the streets and whatnot because they are all celebrating ramadan and you don't want to throw things in people's faces that you were eating and they're not

[00:06:05] but also uh in africa you could not wear short shorts or just tight fitting clothing so everyone had to wear pants i'm wearing pants under my shorts and basically long sleeves or sleeves cut for your shoulders so t-shirts were okay um but everyone and mike will mike since you were talking about him

[00:06:30] had like all black when it came to long sleeves yeah like so hot um because these were just some of the rules of this particular like of the race based on where you are in the world and so everyone is really really sweaty and really really hot so that is why i have leggings on under shorts and everyone is in layers it was a very hot day for the episode that i stay shaped this season

[00:06:55] this sort of like put a lot of things in motion which you will see as the episodes continue to go okay and one i i love the fact that you just telling me that like it was during ramadan so obviously the people around weren't eating during while the sun was up i love that you guys had to be covered and respectful i feel like we don't see enough of that in the new era

[00:07:19] of amazing race right where i feel like it just is what it is and not to take anything away from that but like i love i think as i'm watching this and learning more it's like i think that's a part of the amazing race is right like you know like you're not just competing for a million dollars but you're also immersing immersing yourself into these cultures and i think that that adds something to it so like i love that little tidbit of why people look like how they look this episode right

[00:07:47] and i also think there's a couple of things that they didn't show that i wish they had shown and we'll talk about it we get there but a lot of them were like interactions with locals i'm realizing i don't i'm kind of a mess um have no jewelry on i got my glasses on i should have just rolled out my pajamas and done this with there was a mosquito oh god it's a day i feel like everyone's having a day so also i know we were gonna have i said we were gonna have some guests and we are starting the next one

[00:08:16] i felt like maybe for the trauma we would just break it down ourselves i'm also realizing i came to the table with water only and that was probably not the right thing to do to live through this day but it's fine people are gonna get a lot of behind the scenes information this time and i feel like that's what they watch for so i'm excited yes so deep breaths like shamir and sarah decided they're gonna take

[00:08:43] and communicate better on this day so let's take a deep breath and let's jump into um mid-june 2016 when we are in tanzania okay it's gonna be fine so we start the leg uh mike and liz have just finished their second first place in a row uh they leave at 8 17 tara and joey are about 10 minutes after that bank and ashton are about a half hour after that followed about 10 minutes later by matt

[00:09:11] and red london and logan are at 9 15 scott and i are four minutes later shamir and sarah are 9 40 and becca and floyd are 9 44 because if you remember at the end of the last episode floyd left his passport in the back of a taxi and thanks to abdul they got it back and stayed in the race by like the skin of their teeth actually i don't think the race makes a big enough deal about the fact that

[00:09:34] like this almost cost them this was almost a zev and justin situation where the passport was gone and they were out and thank god they weren't because honestly team fun should be on every season i mean well listen okay thank god they weren't out because i wonder what the trajectory would have been because they play a very crucial role in this episode also shout out to my girl ashton because we do start the

[00:10:01] episode okay and we started where we left it all okay ashton is letting them know oh we're the weak team okay here comes the weak team and i'm about to say brockman and zach but redmond and matt they are like well we just came out like well y'all was doing a whole bunch of like i i'm not mad at ashton's energy but i don't know if they come to a truce or if they just agree to disagree

[00:10:32] i think the hatchet is buried at this point okay um they match just sort of giggly he's like okay he's like i didn't know we were in a feud to begin with but that's fine if you say the hatchet is buried the hatchet is buried so i think at this point nobody is gunning for neither of those teams are gunning for each other and it's just sort of like we're letting bygones be bygones which i think is good because i think we've had enough of the you're weak no we're not you didn't flip a coin and

[00:11:01] whatever we've moved on from the coin flip and i don't think we are going to hear about it again and i'm okay with that so uh the first root information is make your way to the home of farouk balsara or another one will bite the dust another one bites the dust which if you know you know is a queen lyric and it turns out farouk balsara is freddie mercury who grew up on the island nation

[00:11:25] of zanzibar liz and mike go like so far to the wrong place that they think another one bites the dust refers to a pile of rubble that they are to sift through to find their clue i was yelling at them because i like it looked like semen and at one point mike's like that bag has red in it and i'm like

[00:11:48] you dumping out somebody's semen what are you doing but again i'm not mad you're saying cement yes yes okay just making sure i understand the words that are coming out your mouth not cement um but no i old me would be like what are you doing right but me seeing enough of amazing

[00:12:11] race uh like i feel like this makes sense but i also feel like you need to be near the kitchen to be cooking on the stove so yeah i mean is it any worse than tara and joey's luck with a cab because they get in a taxi and tara's like do you know where this is and he goes yes and then joey and tara's like is it this way he says yes and joey goes is it that way and he says yes and i'm like this happened so many

[00:12:40] times where we have cab drivers who just like are yes people because they just want to say it's what you know if english is not the first language it's like you just say yes make people happy that's what good answer yeah anyway they they get to the correct place right they don't want to lose the fare they don't want to say no um but it was that had happened a few times especially to tara and joey and so they find their way to the right spot so he actually did know where they were going and it is a detour

[00:13:10] the detour is either lock or knock in lock you are to look through 3.2 million chests with unknown secret compartments behind the drawers in the chest find a key open a lock get your clue and knock you are to find three royal doors out of i don't know 4.2 trillion doors knock on them all get these

[00:13:34] wood carvings bring them to another shop and get your clue which are you doing see i don't know because you're a runner i am i i think watching episode i'm like i might have wanted to lean towards the lock but i think i should have gone with the knock because i think i think what i loved the most

[00:13:59] about sorry my voice is going y'all been screaming all day but what i think what i loved the most about this episode was like i loved how some teams just did not give up right and like i i loved that some gave up several times and we're just like i'll go here let's try that one let's go back so it would have frustrated me being up there with all of those teams uh in the lock right and like especially like seeing somebody get it and then we're all still there so it's like i don't know

[00:14:28] i like the freedom watching i think i would have really liked the knock not lock not knock so tara and joey also decide to knock on every door in the city and take the knock vank and ashton go to a hotel um they find out it's freddie mercury's house matt and redmond find the same thing liz and mike go into a travel agency after sifting through the garbage and he sees on the

[00:14:52] wall a picture of freddie mercury and he's like yes this is correct let's go to there um at the same time london logan and us are starting they get a cab we're like can we follow you they say sure who cares and but if you could keep up though girl but you know what great i would have said the same thing sure follow us but we're not gonna wait for you because that's how you do it meditieren yoga joggen nichts entspannt mich echt mich entspannt meine steuer total steuer

[00:16:12] this and mike finds the correct place and they decide to go do law and they find it fast because mike is a smarty and he's like these drawers what yep there it is so tara and joey uh are doing the knocking i think they found one of their carvings and they actually run into the lock place and they're like let's swap because this we could run around for days and they're not having the best day they're a little bit

[00:16:40] they're they're they're they're a little off although in all fairness a lot of teams are a little bit off today so a lot going on it's fine but i also think that their argument of find a new partner man like is very short-lived like this is just sort of they are blood people i love that though because essentially tara was like keep up or shut up okay like i i had a newfound respect for tara i didn't i don't think much of

[00:17:08] i haven't thought much of tara and joey throughout this you know four episodes but for me this was like tara's episode i feel like joey has that boston oxide and so i feel like he dominates a lot he has a big personality and i feel like i was like okay tara got a mouth on her tara is taking the reins so i was excited

[00:17:30] to see tara say listen go get a new partner but joey you know for all of his like brashness will be like look i can take it i deserved it i could take it it's fine so meanwhile at lock we have matt and redmond london and logan brook and scott knock vank and ashton have decided to do the knock side and bank wants to google the doors now i'm for this i am for this on the highest level google images find me

[00:17:58] the doors like somebody's gotta know what royal doors are and there's so many doors ashton's having none of it she's like i'm not into this if we're not in first place it's your fault meanwhile i never had this thought if we're not in first place it's your fault my thing was like we're gonna be out if we take the time to do anything but she i like her confidence where she's like we are if we're not first it's because of you but i would have i would have googled the doors too personally i would

[00:18:24] google the door like this this is where again you know at this point ashton and vank are my favorite team because they're so different and every time you say that no but i mean obviously like i love you and scott but like i have to like i can't root for you two because i know y'all so i have to like fall in love with someone else and so i love ashton where she's like let's go let's go let's go and thank

[00:18:49] it's like let's get a little more details and so like i was a little man at vank a little bit because it's like you're doing too much like yeah but like if you can't get it and go we need to go sorry disagree because honestly you have thank it happens like if i'm wrong i will tell you i'm wrong and i'll apologize and thanks like fine we'll do it your way and they're running around and she he's like hello you said if you were wrong we could switch and do other things she's like i don't think i'm wrong

[00:19:19] so like but what's she done i mean they got very lucky that they found a person who told them where to go like very like in the like the 13th hour i'm just saying they did find a person and it did work out for them but i do think she's got a bit of a stubborn streak said by someone who also has a bit of a stubborn streak so you know it was interesting when shamir and sarah started uh they did like a

[00:19:48] little confessional and sarah was like we put so much pressure on ourselves uh girl i don't know if it's you i think it might be she takes a lot of she takes a lot of the blame she's a good teammate because yeah right because if i was her i'd be like it's him but she definitely is like us and so again i

[00:20:13] think sarah is a great partner they decide they're gonna breathe deep they're gonna communicate well and they're gonna do a lot better i'm rolling my eyes a little bit behind my glasses not because only because it doesn't work that that strategy lasts for 45 seconds and again i i i suffer from the same so no judgment here just facts okay becca and floyd are on their way to

[00:20:42] the freddie mercury house as well uh i got a question i got a question i got a question last episode we saw scott with the quiche hat uh-huh this episode when becca and floyd are going into the thing i said now wait a minute i see floyd with that hat and so i have a note to ask you what did floyd what was

[00:21:07] it because they found the passport that he got the hat probably i don't know we just passed it around to like friends who did something good so i they stayed probably because they stayed in it and it was like let's you're still here let's give you that i'm still there and they they've been doing an amazing job so yes and next week so you made it all you didn't went to somebody else you made the hat seem all distinguished and

[00:21:36] yes they stayed in they okay avoided elimination they got the hat so at this point liz and mike have opened a lock and they are told to travel by ferry back to dara salam and find a metal shop for their next clue this metal shop lives in my nightmares okay uh london logan and brooke and scott show up at lock as mike

[00:22:02] and liz are leaving and tara and joey who have been looking through a million and a half chests decide we're going back well tara decides and says come with me i can run all day i'm not doing this anymore let's go and joey's like i don't want to do that and she's like we are doing that i'm out the door you have to be within 20 feet of me we're going and so there you are and i said look

[00:22:28] at anthony and bailey before i even knew because there was a time when we saw anthony and bailey switch back and forth multiple times and i'm like what are y'all doing and who knew this is sometimes it works yes yeah it works um and then we have bank and ashton who are going in circles bank wants to switch ashton says absolutely not then because there's a horseshoe up their booties they find

[00:22:55] someone who knows where all of the doors are and they ultimately don't have to switch to the other thing this leg was turn very hard for a lot of people like this was not just everybody had an easy time and brooke had a meltdown so this was like not a great day for anyone factor in the heat factor in the really no eating factor in just like the maze of street like this stone town is beautiful but the streets are

[00:23:24] narrow um addresses are like no and things are very hard to find so it was a lot of things coming together for a lot of people at the same time when you from the starting point in stone town i heard a lot of we should take a cab we could walk what did you and scott walk no we took a cab and we followed

[00:23:50] london and logan because we could keep up um price when there was an option not to run we were not running well i just i only asked because well one i wasn't running well i mean obviously you know seth and olive are gone because i know seth and olive would have ran but i only asked after the market with the money issue was that ever did that ever you think like we need to conserve or yeah and we

[00:24:19] and we did conserve like i don't i'm not a coffee drinker and scott is and we said you know if we're at an airport and we have like a long time or whatever and someone's not going to give you a coffee because you know ask nice first then one you can spend money on one drink at an airport or save it till the plane or whatever whatever like we did not there were i think it was joey and mike

[00:24:45] they'll be okay with me saying this because it's hilarious they made it a point to have a beer in every country so like when we were at an airport like they would spend money on a beer unless someone would give it to them but i was like absolutely not are we doing that we need that money if we run out of money we're gonna have to beg on the streets and in a lot of these countries i'm not i just i refuse to beg on the streets for people who need that money more than we do for a television

[00:25:12] show do you remember when uh andrea and malena told us that like at the start of their race uh they had like got a drink and like ate and then they didn't realize that they were like using their money i was like ah um i don't remember that but that's the funniest thing ever because what did you think you were just gonna get you thought that was airport money that for snacks i don't i don't know

[00:25:39] about that so becca and floyd are at knock shamir and sarah nope lock shamir and sarah are doing the knock and um becca and floyd show up and in true brook fashion i go hi welcome to hell because at that point it was and then i say i want to crawl into a chest and cry which also i did because scott's talking to the camera and he's like we've looked through and in the background you hear me go a million

[00:26:05] like yes we've been there a little bit um it was it was hot and to the to the show's credit this was one of those moments where it was really hot in those rooms we were like it was stuffy we were crammed in there there were a lot of people and the second you said you know i i'm a little dizzy or i'm thirsty there was somebody there to give you electrolytes and water and they took very good care of

[00:26:36] the physicality of all of it so shout out to the team from that's good to know world race production because my first cuss out i write why is brook telling everybody about the secret drawer everybody so had lundin and logan if i know that they were there because i think i was just so in my own world i probably would have told them yeah i had to rewind it three times because i'm like what

[00:27:00] is brook doing but i think the way they edited the voice over it made it seem like you said it because then london or oh sorry no matt and redmond matt and redmond no it's a bad right man no no it might have been matt and red man i just wanted to say lolo okay because that's i want to stop saying logan in london i want to start using lolo but someone then says i heard brook whisper it was mad so i i figure it out because i start looking at the drawers and i'm

[00:27:29] like why are we opening all of these there's no way we have to be lifting these hundred pounds ridiculousnesses and all up and down all over the place first of all these chests are probably valuable we're not supposed to be throwing these things around okay because y'all had that room a mess but they they did make it a point to tell us like you're not to like knock them over you need to be respectful and careful with things so i'm and then i start opening the drawers and i don't know why it took me so long but not as long as most people so i don't feel that badly

[00:27:58] to be like wait why are these drawers short and then i realized there's a compartment behind the drawers and that's when i go oh no and i that i couldn't that was just i didn't realize i was saying it and then i tell scott and apparently matt and redmond who are closer than i realized that there's a secret compartment behind the drawers and matt redmond find a key and they're out and they're like thanks brook and they do offer they do say if you need anything thanks for helping us and at the ferry

[00:28:26] station in a behind the scenes scene which i remember from the youtube um so at this point tara and joey bank and ashton samir and sarah have all found one or two of their wood carvings and we are in you know chest hell um and we have found uh we have found a key i believe at this point um mike matt and remnant are off in second place liz and mike are at the ferry bank and ashton have found

[00:28:53] all three doors and heads the ferry shamir and sarah have found their second carving and tara and joey are running around this is where she says get a new partner but like i said that fight lasts five seconds and they're fine um yeah this my second cuss out to brook and scott like bring it y'all not diligent enough with that key like the fact that you are looking for another key while y'all have a key

[00:29:20] i'm my first of all also i watched this at like six o'clock in the morning because i just couldn't wait i'm like what are y'all doing i'll tell you what we were doing please rice i will tell you bryce oscar isaiah johnson i will tell you because scott took the key and was trying to open the scorpion it was not working there were it was like minutes of trying to get into this scorpion and he's like i think it's broken maybe one key only opens one particular scorpion blah blah whatever like we

[00:29:50] didn't know we didn't know and rather than stand there and do nothing but watch him try and break open a lock with his bare hands i was like i'm gonna find another key maybe i'll find a fish key i know liz and matt were undoing a fish or matt and remnant whatever anyway i was like i'll find something else so while he's doing that i find a second key also a scorpion and i got no problem with that because it ends up actually being one of the reasons that really really help us so hmm uh go ahead you're

[00:30:20] not wrong there okay the foreshadowing is crazy but so funny because i literally right here after he gives the other key away i go god says it's okay they can help us later and the biggest boldest font of all time i say foreshadowing because i was i was again i wanted to watch this around the same time you

[00:30:45] will be watching so we comfort each other but i couldn't sleep and so i was like i gotta watch this episode and the way i'm sitting up screaming at scotland jamal kareem finland ain't that his last name finland flannery flannery yep i'm like what are you doing

[00:31:14] but also shout out to becca and floyd though because they like becca was like don't get no and you know what i actually think he did the right thing and i'll tell you why and so scott i know you're watching this i do think you did the right thing because he gets becca our second key and i'm not thrilled about it because i'm like what are you doing why are you giving away the key like what why here's what we subsequently thought about if we had two keys and we discarded that second

[00:31:42] key in any way like we may have gotten a penalty if we didn't put that key back in a drawer and put the drawer like put it back for somebody to find we may have messed with somebody else's ability to find a clue so you know what best to give it away give it to becca and floyd who immediately come to us at the ferry station and say thank you so much we owe you to which i'm like if we ever need anything if i'm in trouble or he's in trouble but if when i'm in trouble in six minutes um could you make sure you

[00:32:11] please help me so it comes i didn't know we'd use it you the same day but we had an i owe you and thank goodness because you know 15 minutes later in the episode you're gonna see me be like remember that time when we gave you a key that's what cracked me up about the episode because i felt like you were the one that said that to becca though like you owe us okay no they first said we owe you they said thank you we owe you and i'm like if we're ever in trouble which i will be in five minutes help us

[00:32:41] shamir and sarah at this time are not communicating well sorry well see and mind you i i want to love shamir so much i do lord lord no he's great in real life yeah i i bet he is okay because i followed him on the instagram he followed me back i like to watch his stories but the thing that is like pissing me off the most though is that like when the harness was harnessing and like sarah is like come on come

[00:33:07] on come on yeah that's okay i'm the harness when the harness was harnessing i don't think the harness well i mean i'm just saying i guess you know that's how the harness harnesses if people don't watch this on video they should because there's just something about your expressions with the harness the harness is harnessing right uh-huh and when on that episode when he said every time that he

[00:33:33] would like go down it more pressure well sir you're you're standing on the ground saying you're taking a break and sarah is like respecting it even though she's a little pissed but she's respecting it sarah is saying i want to find i want to knock on the door and like i need for you to be in it sure we can

[00:33:59] well i'm like shamar like and uh that was like frustrating me but again i understand because it's like he's saying like let's switch but also it's like if you say you're gonna be in it be at it knock on the door you know it is possible sorry go ahead just up just she's like did we knock on it like if you're walking back to switch to go to the chest why not triple check as you're going back

[00:34:28] walk and knock walk and knock i agree i will say it is possible there are situations where editing is a real thing and shamir could have said something one time and they could have played it eight times that it made it look like he was a certain way it didn't happen here but i'm just saying it was possible it also could have happened to me it didn't happen to me anyway so tara and joey have now found their third door they're in sixth place london and logan suck at the lock thing and so they decide to

[00:34:55] switch and in the luckiest moment of the day right outside the lock probably 18 people have asked this lady this lady now knows where all three royal doors are tells them exactly where to go they do it very quickly because at this point the ferry is locked and loaded and two teams are missing this moment i will never forget this moment we're all on the ferry thank liz and i are looking over the side being like are they coming what's happening what's going on peace and care and so we then see london and logan

[00:35:24] show up and i'm like get your butt up here you left off it they get on the boat i remember london looking around and being like where's shamir and sarah and becca and i are sitting there and i'm like uh-uh and becca's like they're not here and london just was like oh my god like everyone's clapping for them when they show up at the boat because we're happy look it didn't really matter i love london obviously but like we all just wanted somebody to miss the boat so that like we all

[00:35:49] had a cushion give you a little yeah i mean thank god somebody did okay so i also looked up because we had some time at the ferry when the next ferry was so if somebody missed that boat the next ferry was three hours later so i of course had my little stopwatch and i started the stopwatch when the ferry landed and i was like we have three hours from this moment until the next team will show up

[00:36:39] swapped the lock like because they can't do the other one and the ferry docks and everyone is running to this industrial cooperative society thing which is most definitely not a musical instrument place and is most definitely a metal shop so we all get there the roadblock says who's into heavy metal becca is

[00:37:01] bank is joey is london is red is mike is brooke is not and we all decide to do the roadblock ashton does not want bank to do it she's like i've got this and all respect to ashton like maybe she probably would have done better than me let's get real but this was so difficult this was make a ladle with like

[00:37:23] the dullest shears a spoon and like a piece of sheet metal like this was i do not know how the men in this country can make these things that look machine made and they're all doing it like it's no problem i'm going around watching everyone thinking like maybe i can pick up some sort of tips and tricks the guy who's in my stall with me was so nice but other people were like laughing at the

[00:37:47] white girl who can't do this and so once we decided to do a task we were usually pretty good with being like okay even if you're not good at like this is not your thing you're afraid of heights whatever whatever you're not strong just move on and you know scott had a bit of an issue with going up on the heights and he yelled at me and i i find great and then he went and he did it and yay for him and he really really i don't know why it was like you're artistic which i am the artsy one of the

[00:38:16] two of us and he's like you are musical and i am the musical one and it said heavy metal and i'm like it's a metal shop like this is not heavy metal we're playing a guitar throw that at me great i'll play a guitar but and i'm telling him i don't think i should do this i don't think i should do this and then i say yes and once you say yes you cannot once you rip the clue you cannot change there's no change in your

[00:38:42] we go in and ladle gates um meanwhile red's in a stall being like when i woke up this morning i thought i really hope i make a ladle and beck beck is having a blast she having a blast you guys go i feel like brooke's probably having a hard time with this right now and i was and mike's loving creating stuff like vank is like positive even though he's having a little trouble he's like i'm gonna get this

[00:39:05] i'm just i need everybody's i i literally this was physically probably the hardest thing i've ever had to do until maybe a few legs later this was this was it this was the day so i mean again i've always heard of ladlegate i think i called you this morning and was telling you like i don't know why

[00:39:26] i when i saw the actual ladle i was like oh i was thinking of a top but like this was again you've forewarned me forewarned me forewarned me i've heard many a people i've like i've read on discord i've i've heard of ladlegate and so again i got up early this morning

[00:39:50] to watch the episode to like prepare myself and it really wasn't that bad you were just in your head brooke like you were just like you and i i felt you because it's like you were just in your head and i was like get it together and it's like the the funny thing that i loved the most about it is that

[00:40:17] like you come marching out of your stall and you go to sky you're like listen i don't know if i could do this i need you to tell me i can do and i was like bitch that's right that's what i that's how i survive because you know what it's not even so much about being in my head which i definitely was it was i knew how badly i wanted to be there and i knew of everybody scott wanted it just as badly as

[00:40:42] me and the one thing i didn't want to do was be the reason we were out like this was like if we lost this was on me there was no blaming scott like this was this was brooke's f up if that was the end of it and i mean the only blame could have been he really told me i should be the one to do this but that's fine if we were gone it would have been me and that was what i just kept thinking to myself like you can't be there this can't be over like it's not this can't be the end of my asshole partner said i

[00:41:11] should do it i said oh oh i said oh she mad i was not having a good day i tried so hard to like i don't know why i had the wherewithal to do this but like to sing disney songs to like because i knew they weren't going to get the rights for the songs i'm like they can't use my freaking out if they can't use the songs but i've given them enough they had enough footage they were in my face being like how do you how do you feel about doing this right now and i'm like don't ask me questions i'm

[00:41:40] not good and they're like you really need to answer the questions i'm like i don't feel good can i go back to this now please they're laughing at me honestly it was the most painful roadblock hands down easy and i did come out to scott and i was like okay we might need a penalty but knowing the rules of the amazing race you cracked me up with that bitch because not you're gonna say we might need to take a penalty where you're walking out with a damn ladle like you walk out with a ladle

[00:42:09] i walked out with my first ladle behind the scenes i had to make two regardless you could edit it i'm like girl i want to i want to pop you with i'm like but again i going into this episode right like you having me think like this is like the horrible is worst thing ever and it's like if anything i felt it inspiring i felt it like encouraging because like you know you always say jokingly like

[00:42:39] if you're not strong be smart be prepared be whatever but this like it reminds me of it makes me think of james and will how like you know how i always say with their season and that was one of the first seasons that i watched where it's like they're strategic like they were playing a social game and amazing race is a social game and it shows your social currency in this mother effing game so it

[00:43:07] like was super empowering where it's like there might be times where you're at your lowest of your lowest and you can't go or like you just can't but like you've planted seeds you have red men like share like you got becca helping well i mean becca owed you becca redmond did bank came over and helped he didn't mike after he got the yes came back just to be like we're sending you cheers from the

[00:43:33] front and i was like but before you go could you maybe just and so i wasn't kidding when i had to make a second one mike actually helped me cut out the circle for the second one he stayed for an extra five minutes or so close my mouth well you know my mouth's never closed but again it just speaks to like again just seeing how chipper you are in these little like i remember when shamar in the harness right and we were all in the park you had your little black hat on right but like

[00:44:03] when everyone got there you were like the first person to everybody's face like again like it's short how chipper like it it makes a difference right and i like i say this about survivor sometimes where it's like survivor is a game of chance it's a game of luck it's a game of strategy and like an amazing race it is a game of luck but it also is like bitch be a good person be fun be nice be engaging

[00:44:32] be and it pays off so it's like again i i think you are looking at the situation all wrong brooke like i think you think the situation has you beat but it's like bitch you beat the situation i will say if we had been there by ourselves things would have gone very differently but the whole the interesting part is so the rules with a penalty just so you know and everyone who's

[00:44:58] listening knows you can take a penalty but the penalty time would have been four hours and it would not have started until the next team arrived and since there was only one team behind us we actually couldn't take the penalty because i knew at that point we had less than four hours until the ferry was docking and i knew shamir would get in there and he would bust this out fairly quickly and so penalty was off the table scott gives me a pep talk people give me some like people are clapping and cheering now maybe people helped us because they thought we were weaker than

[00:45:27] shemir and sarah and they wanted to keep us in but whatever i don't care so just an extra thank you to becca to redmond to vanc to mike who came over and helped even when their stuff was basically done and sometimes when their stuff wasn't done which is interesting because like then you're helping me get ahead and you're not even finished so joey gets the no oh go ahead no i was gonna say it also

[00:45:54] speaks to my rule that i've created from watching all these seasons with you don't be ahead in the pack it doesn't pay to be number one number one number one number one just saying because like say you and scott for the first three legs say y'all got number one and you were in that position you can guarantee no one is helping you just back up because she owed well just well i mean becca owed you but like

[00:46:20] i mean listen she could have she could have redmonded you like you never know but i'm just saying where it's like it it doesn't again you want to mind you i'm acting like i played the amazing race but i'm just saying from watching it it's like yeah you wanna you wanna test the bike out but you don't wanna you just wanna make sure it's oiled and it's working in this well yeah nothing better in this world than being underestimated and then showing the people what

[00:46:48] you can really do so okay i will say however redmond's telling me to stay calm i don't take it as calm down but then they show him and matt like on the mat where he's like i was telling brooke to calm down and that's like i hear she doesn't like being told that and that's hilarious i laughed really hard when i saw that because who does like being told that but i didn't take it that way at all um so joey redmond they both need to go back and fix things uh joey gets it first becca is right

[00:47:14] behind and frankly had she not stopped and helped me they probably would have gotten the first place so sorry about that and thank you but also if they didn't get the key from us who knows if they would have even made that fairy so it all sort of worked itself out and back to me so sitting there on the ground dirty and sweaty talking about if i needed a ladle for dinner my family would starve i'm singing the disney songs you have to jammer people being like stop asking me questions i have

[00:47:42] nothing to say and tara and joey get first they get five thousand dollars each becca and floyd get their second we probably cost them five thousand dollars but again who knows what would have happened with the key um mike gets his yes and then comes back to help me which thank god because again like i said mine wasn't salvageable apparently i got a second one out so whatever um he does say which i only noticed upon watching the show and honestly if you'd asked me during the race i would have sworn on my

[00:48:09] life that this conversation never happened i don't remember he said i thank him so much he says no u-turns i say you've got it i don't remember saying that but and conversations were had um logan gets it here in fourth reds and fifth banks and six i go to the front thinking they are going to say no again and i am

[00:48:32] like way down in the dumps and while liz and mike and matt and redmond and lolo check in shamir and sarah's ferry has landed and i've made my second ladle and it's good which was the feeling you get when you're told yes we actually didn't see shamir and sarah there the editing makes it look like it was a little closer than it was but they that's what i was thinking was going to

[00:49:01] happen um i mean honestly we were far enough along though i think it wouldn't have mattered but like they strained my pasta i'm saying my thing strains pasta i then say don't eat that it is very overdone but they don't leave that part in and this is remember i said earlier there were a couple of things that weren't shown that i wish they had shown this moment before we head to coco beach and get checked in every like all the guys the people like the local people who were there watching and like

[00:49:28] chuckling and having fun they were by our cab about to leave it's probably 20 people they're all cheering we're jumping up and down like it's this amazingly wonderful cultural moment where we're all just like celebrating they don't know me they don't know this little white girl who had so much trouble for the past i don't know two and a half hours of her life and it's just such a lovely moment that i wish was kept in but you know time and so shamir gets the roadblock he's doing it and as it's getting dark

[00:49:57] we get to the beach we find phil and dennis who has the best smile in the world that was our pit stop reader i don't know i'll think i'll never forget his name i'm crying and thanking everyone we're told we're seventh and we are not eliminated whoo and then in a moment that i actually think we can agree on baby girl i almost called you at six in the morning because not for nothing i was expecting the worst of

[00:50:25] this episode and now i was to my delight not not not to shamir's and sarah's delight but to my delight yes we agree we get a phil elimination and i think the first thing that i wrote was like i think brooke and i will agree that this is a phil elimination this is and let's just clear the air as to why it's a

[00:50:53] phil elimination okay all the teams have checked in what no yeah what do you mean that's not why it's a phil elimination okay girl we're not about to do this on your season girl we are but like we got to be on the same page at the same page shamir is still working he has not quit sure phil comes to him in this situation that is what has happened yes yes and it's a and it's a

[00:51:20] phil elimination correct i agree also we're not doing this this season we're not doing it that's we're not doing it it is if we are it is a phil elimination agree agree agree agree and then a fun little moment which i actually feel really badly for so if your team is arguing sometimes they will separate you for your post leg interviews but they show bank and ashton well they show ashton standing there talking about how you know they're really different and they're they don't think the

[00:51:48] same way and she's stuck together and it is what it is so she'll make the best of it and then they like pan out and bank is standing right there and i'm like dude separate them or be nicer when you're in front of your partners i kind of thought it was funny because i i took it as she was saying all of that and he just didn't respond he didn't and so like again now this is where i was i was like all right

[00:52:12] ashton i was with you all episode until right now not too much on my banky bank okay because he's pulling his weight ashton's for sure pulling her weight oh yeah both of them but like i i was i was with her and yelling at them all today getting through but i ain't like that right there come on ashton keep it cute not too much on my banky bank so that is how the episode ends and i will tell

[00:53:04] and next week we go to norway which is maybe the most beautiful location that the race goes to oslo we went to we yeah well we flew in but then we went to um alisand norway and it is just the people are the nicest the city was gorgeous it was just the most beautiful you're going to enjoy it
