I am so excited to be here. Malfunction after malfunction. Can't stop the pit stop. I'm a little nervous this episode, Brooke, because our guest, who I love, who I've met in person, and absolutely adore.

[00:02:50] I did cuss said person out a couple of times. But listen, welcome back to the podcast. A contestant. And actually, for the first time, I can say, one of the final three teams racing in Amazing Race finale Season 29. But we're here to talk about Episode 11. Welcome back to the podcast, Ms. Brooke Cam. Hello. And I don't come alone today. I come with another Final Three contestant,

[00:03:19] my favorite other person from Season 29 of The Amazing Race. She's gorgeous. She's talented. She's one of my closest friends. And every time you try to say anything, even remotely not okay, I slapped you a little across the face and we solved that problem. Because you love her and so do I. Please welcome to the podcast, London. Hello. Thank you guys for having me. I am one half of Team Lolo,

[00:03:48] which, you know, we made it. Don't know how. Final, final episodes. And I got to say, before we get started, it is a privilege to be here. I've been watching all of your recaps. It's like reliving this whole season is such a blast. And your takes are so insightful. Your chemistry is elite. Like, I just am loving it. So thank you for having me. Okay, permission to have London on every podcast. Permission to raise for that. That is very kind. After she sees the couple of episodes,

[00:04:18] I did have to cuss her out just a tad bit. But with love. I really don't think you did much. Well, I did. When she didn't give us the clue, I said, now, London! He was not happy with you, if you remember, in Venice, when you were like... I remember. Yeah, yeah. Fine. It wasn't that I wasn't happy with you. Like, you did what you needed to do. First of all, if Logan was my partner, I wouldn't have gave a clue out either. So listen, I get it.

[00:04:48] I felt like I have to... You have to do something on the show to gain an upper edge. I feel like we were always fighting from the back. So it's like, if I have one little thing I can save for us, you've got to use it. So those were those moments. But overall, I tried to stay positive and happy. Yeah, I know. It's hard to hurt you. You and Logan still keep in contact? You know we don't. Logan, after the show ended, I stayed in touch with mainly the people that lived in New York at the time.

[00:05:18] Like Brooke and Vank. And Shamir was even there. A little bit. He trickled in and out. And then Logan started dating Sarah. I don't know if you guys have... For like years after the show. So they always kind of had their like flirtatious banter during the show when they were on it together. And yeah. Oh, if I feel behind the scenes of who had crushes on who and who snuck into whose room perhaps.

[00:05:47] But yes, Logan and Sarah dated and they even got a dog that they named Philomena. That Sarah still has, right? Really? Still alive. Yeah, she has another dog too. I think she still has Philomena. Oh, wow. Okay. Oh. Wow. London comes with gossip. I guess so. How much are we talking... Are we assuming everyone's listening to all these? Because I am. So I'm like, all the contestants are probably tuning

[00:06:16] into these recaps. We gotta... I gotta keep my mouth maybe a little more shut. Hi, everybody. Hello. Hey, Shamir. Hey. No way. Hi, Shamir. Shamir. I follow Shamir. Shamir followed back. I sent Shamir some messages. So Shamir and I are best... Hi, Shamir. And nobody else. Just Shamir. And Vank. Hi, Vank. Hi, Vank. Hi, Scott. I mean, he's... Obviously.

[00:06:46] The best. So should I say that we are filming this on the day that our finale... This is the 10-year anniversary of the day that we ran the final let of the amazing race. Right? In fact, if you talk long enough, you will talk through the time that all three teams crossed the finish line. Oh. Wow. So curious to know what team came in first. But I'm excited to get through episode 11.

[00:07:17] Okay. I guess you can guess do we come in second or third? But I don't know. For my team. I'm guessing. Girl, you're my Winnipeg. Me? Yes. He just chooses to ignore what he knows sometimes. Well, I'm sorry. Perfect. Stick with me. Logan is my Winnipeg and by default it's you and Logan. Yes. I knew I chose the chosen for a reason. I know what you're talking about.

[00:07:47] It was all London all the time. Oh, thank you. Except when there were chickens on a boat in Africa. Oh, God. That's the response. That was it. I heard you guys talking about that episode and I was like, oh, remember the chickens and then you brought it up. I was like, yeah, I love the chickens. Oh, and then grease the donkey when we had to. Oh, I'm not good with animal challenges. Well, that's why she had me as a friend. Yeah. Well, this animal

[00:08:17] was great for both of you because both of you for sure propelled your team into the final three. And I'm actually really glad we have London here because the last task in this episode was so glorious and we'll get there when we get there. But London will tell you she's never played a video game a day in her life. Oh, we know. She just smashed the hell out of some buttons. But to hear the difference between London who's never done this

[00:08:47] and her positivity of I can do this and Tara who also clearly has never done this but who thinks that by the way, fun fact, the guy that London was against was like the world champion of Street Fighter and Tara's guy wasn't even the best guy. Bertram told us that at the pit stop and she was like we didn't get to like I had the best guy and he's like actually no you didn't. So You mean the male chauvinist teenager that was just showing out?

[00:09:17] He was so sweet. I was confused by that but wait, Logan, I need to know have you ever seen the gif of Kermit the Frog when he's like typing on Yes. The girl What's that mean? watching it back my face I'm like relax the shoulders focus on the scrubs just going nuts but Whatever works It got the job done It got the job done

[00:09:46] first no less like forget maybe we were all doing it wrong but let's let's dive in and let's talk Oh, go ahead My last thing the only thing that I did like the one thing that I did not like about this episode and What's who I'ma just this is to the editors because like this is episode 11 we are episode before the season finale like I and again London I am not

[00:10:15] amazing race savant like you and Brooke I am just new here and I am falling in love right? Like I come from the survivor realm I love survivor but like I really do enjoy amazing race and now that I've seen the new seasons and because of Brooke I'm going back to see old seasons this is one thing that I hate both in the new era and the old era of amazing race I hate it when a team and maybe not so much this episode because there was a point but like I hate it

[00:10:44] when like a team is so far behind that there is no suspense and so although towards the end it did get good for 87% of the episode I just kind of felt like and I'm not even trying to be funny I felt like this is somebody's last leg so many puns that was a great pun Redmond was full of puns and

[00:11:14] and you know he repeated them again and again and again to make sure that they got on the air so funny it's it's so true though Bryce I just when you know who's gonna be going home it just and you don't want to go out because of a bad cab or bad directions like that's the worst way and to just see it like one after the other does lose the excitement there right and so like as a fan watching this like I and again because every episode I call Brooke I call I call Brooke

[00:11:44] on Team Fun episode crying I call Brooke on this episode crying but like I just the enjoyment like I felt like the editing could have been a little more tighter where we as fans didn't know how far in the back they were but it did lead to a very like interesting like what's gonna happen but that's the only thing I have to say sorry Brooke take it away no it's fine I gotta tell you we got to the pit stop probably five minutes before London and Logan and then Phil had us standing there waiting for the next team and we had no idea

[00:12:14] because I remember hearing like the boys caught up I remember them saying the boys caught up and I remember thinking well either one but if Matt gets to do this I knew he was a gamer and so I was like maybe I mean she bet Tara was on like try 37 by the time legitimately by the time Matt got there but he got it so quickly that it was only like 15 minutes difference and they were way behind they made up a ton of time because when they got there Matt came over to me he goes how far behind were we

[00:12:43] and we're like I wrote in my notes when watching the episode I was like they were like 10 minutes behind so yeah between 10 and 15 minutes coming in at the end like they caught up fast they're that good they could do anything they are okay so we're going to South Korea for a super fun night leg I love a night leg Matt and Redmond are going to leave at 11.57pm Brooke and Scott are oh my god no 1.48 in the morning

[00:13:12] they were faster than us and then Tara and Joey at 2.16 and London and Logan at 2.26 and we are flying 1,600 miles so half the distance of season 36 north to Seoul South Korea to find this outdoor disco now the boys are talking about how someone's going home today and it's not them we are in the back of our cab like strangely optimistic like I'm loving this we're going to nail this and then I go oh look how positive I am

[00:13:42] and we have Tara and Joey who are ready to bring it home and London you are just so excited to be there she's just oh we're happy to be here but that's you like you're just genuinely a happy person it's me but also watching that like scene I was like this is when having a little more wisdom going on the amazing race and just having I was 27 I know it's not like super young but like I needed to put like this is a million dollar race girl like stop

[00:14:12] and like do some work um it's kind of like watching things back sometimes I wish I would have taken it a bit more seriously but hey condom style you put in some work girl I like now listen now London don't have that picture for one second or is that not a thing we can do because I didn't realize that London was on the team with a pirate that's a look I mean I didn't have great looks but that is that's a look sorry just now I'm

[00:14:41] always ready to walk the plank but listen Logan hey Logan but London don't have me cuss you out on this podcast on something positive because listen I was telling you while we were dealing with our 37 minutes and 27 seconds of technical difficulties how watching this season team Lolo like y'all might have been in the back of the pack but y'all were a well oiled well calm machine and that

[00:15:11] says something so girl you were fighting for a million dollars like so like okay because you out so early all right I thank you should have been the response and yes positivity is always good and Brooke I'm so glad you were so positive going into this leg I'm proud of you for five minutes oh hello Bacon has joined the podcast okay so let's see oh so do you remember

[00:15:43] and I remember we asked everybody everyone in the seats the flight attendants everyone you can think of we have to go to this square do we take the subway or do we take a taxi and everybody was saying like well taxis are expensive and then we were like let's assume money doesn't matter which is kind of obnoxious but the goal was fast and we were told take

[00:16:14] do you remember we were like let Matt and Redmond get off the plane first because we think they're going to the subway and we don't want them to see the rest of us all take taxis and change their mind in case the subway is slower sounds familiar yep sounds like something we would do but here's the thing though right why while I am mad at them it's moves like this that could potentially win you the amazing race

[00:16:44] or lose you right and so like I I have to take my leg off to them because like I like the fact that they like let's take a risk because like sometimes you have to take a risk but as much as I know shout out to Brooke if we in the final 14 bitch I'm staying with every four of the three teams well first of all you you wouldn't have been able to get me off of Logan but like

[00:17:13] I like I would have been extra close to Logan but okay I'm gonna shut up now I'm glad you're such a Logan fan I mean I'm a so it's the

[00:17:43] taxi the risk was there's a lot of traffic it's rush hour and I just remember being in the taxi and it was fine so I think we made the right choice obviously and again just feel terrible for the boys having to get behind so early because they just didn't even have a fighting leg in the race so the thing is though like even if they taken a subway and that had been the only issue I still think they would have not gone home because really where they lost their time

[00:18:13] was after every dancing thing and got our clues and we're all dancing together and having a lot of fun and the boys get there and they see there's only one clue left we had to go to this hang young university and this is where they lost their time because this is where they were I a swim instructor and a lifeguard and I was like finally

[00:18:43] something that I'm really excited for and I just remember scoffing like where's your bathing suit where's your bathing suit and we got in there and it was who stacks up and we have to stack these high speed stacking challenge which also I thought was the best part of that was once you read that it was stacking that are left are Matt Zach and

[00:19:12] Redman team Lolo and team Scott and Scott and I am happy that it is team Scott and Scott because Scott 2.0 got there and said this is something I can do and we don't always get to see or haven't had those opportunities to see my girl say that she could do something and so I was super excited for you not only to like have to do the challenge but she was ready to do the challenge

[00:19:44] I want to ask London a question two questions one why did you guys decide that Logan was going to do this I think it we kind of started going back and forth a bit we were getting in a groove of like he does

[00:20:27] are so unique and cool and special like stacking cups in a random gymnasium in the middle of South Korea like what are we doing here and then getting to see all these kids and like it

[00:20:59] my question is because all of the kids did one section one section and one section and Logan did the two sides at the same time he has large hands who cares okay sorry girl because we not gonna do okay I just told you I would give birth to Logan's children here she got like get it together Brooke I was just asking if

[00:21:29] you thought he should be allowed to do two sections at the same time question now here's the real question after watching the episode in full I felt like at some point in time somebody was saying like these this kid wants to just show off for somebody I don't think the game bot kids were showing they were like I'm like how

[00:21:59] is that even possible I think they were trying to set a world record I actually think that if they had been faster than the world record they would have gotten a new world record I think that was going on the same time I'm like you I can't even breathe how do they do that but again also just because I was going to show my girl Brooke some love you took time you went over to little babies

[00:22:28] there was no language barrier there Brooke Kim High said slow it down let me see it slow and like you know learning the technique is what I feel like would help propel you but again just you know I also did little high fives but they didn't show that part which would have been nice they were so sweet and so I get it right on the nose and then Joey's having trouble with his big hands but he's getting better and then we're told to make your way to whatever

[00:22:58] arts and cultural I just decided if I can't pronounce things I'm going to say whatever so I thank you to my cousin for teaching me how to do this Brooke you were in first though like this was rare for us underdog teens like this was really like I haven't watched all

[00:23:42] makes me feel like I think London Logan Brooke Scott I think you guys are nocturnal I wonder if you guys had more like night challenges like what the earlier season would have looked like because look at this photo London you can't tell me this is not a nocturnal creature oh I

[00:24:40] are you like so like maybe you guys realizing this is towards the end but like your energy was so different I'll also tell you what it was it was toward the end we were in the front and it was a little bit cooler because it was nighttime we didn't have to run 16 miles to get where we were going it was take a can you're staying in nicer hotels at this point you're eating better food as it goes on each leg the

[00:25:09] food gets a little nicer the hotel gets a little nicer maybe that had something to do with it too and I think we booked it booked it over the place that we cannot pronounce the

[00:25:39] name of the cultural center boy did I love the cultural center we had live music we had farm to table food we had like you know it was fabulous this is again one of my favorite challenges and this was the moment where Scott and I see Phil because you know he shows up on the race course every so often I was just

[00:26:09] so excited so we get to the cultural center and you have to make kimchi six servings kimchi from scratch pack it up put it in the urn eat some kimchi begin so we start to together but Joey and Tara there for a second and you see us watching

[00:26:39] and they had shown up a little late and I say to Scott don't say what we're doing they don't follow direction so we're just trying to get them at this point subsequently Scott dumps something else in the bin first and I'm like we need to start over and he's like I don't want to if we did this step wrong this could be a mask situation where if you step one wrong they're going to say no to all your cabbages so

[00:27:15] it counts because he's taking them to the wrong place which is exactly not what they want at this time and place they just want to be in the right place it's yeah it was really interesting being there in that the space with the music and the quiet because you really got to see the team

[00:27:45] dynamics on display because it was so quiet and it was such an intimate experience we're watching each other and really get to see how everyone working together and where we're at and it was just it was really nice there was

[00:28:23] ready for that I thought it was gonna be sweet I don't know it was spicy right it was spicy and chewy and I took a really big I don't know now you maybe can settle this debate on I think episode another episode we had a guest and Brooke disagreed but if something goes in hot I

[00:28:53] thought it was like did you go to this country or this country first if it comes in no I don't think it comes out hot why did we talk about this I remember that that was Josiah and Alyssa okay that makes do you

[00:29:25] happy sad it's sad and you don't want to be running into issue after issue but it gives you a sense of like peace um knowing that you have a better chance of of making it through but also you're like on the tip of your toes the whole time because you don't know what's to come if you're gonna get a bad cab next like this was really one of the only episodes that we got

[00:29:50] good cabs until the end and we had not experienced that and we're like this is how people get places so fast we got lost challenge after challenge after challenge and they never show that so unless it's a situation like the boys right now we do know that i believe at the time of filming it was like 1942 and so like smartphones had not been around at that time so do you think maybe like

[00:30:19] in a newer season cabs don't get as lost because there were iphones it was 20 there were stop it he makes so much fun of how old i am and how long ago this was that he's like but you know you guys have to like look at a sundial to see what hour of the day it was or well you felt like it felt like it for us at least wow this i feel like was the same situation as in africa because we knew once he missed the ferry

[00:30:48] and as far as i wasn't calm but i do remember being like where you got on that ferry though logan and you was asking i was shocked that i was we we weren't weren't last literally every moment of this show i was shocked we made it um

[00:31:13] but yeah yeah shocked and you can call me logan the entire episode it's fine it's so hard it's like london logan they're very similar i'm not gonna correct you so just keep the words of flowing write it down only two episodes two episodes ago i started going with team lolo and so it only was two episodes ago well because no i was saying london and logan right but now because i've started saying

[00:31:43] lolo yeah when i when i think of lolo the first word that comes is logan then london so like it's all good please we're good please believe the best day of my life london was when i was sitting at a wedding table and this beautiful goddess reached across the candle

[00:32:06] and said you're a bryce right oh of course i said that i was starstruck and i said why yes i am is your name logan and you said no no no i'm london so no london you were the hot well there was a lot of highlights of brooke's wedding but you were the absolute second highlight for me

[00:32:32] the first highlight was brooke's mother dale shout out to dale hey dale there was a sea of people and and dale said move and the people moved and she walked over to me i had her dress and she put her hand out and i grabbed it and she said i'm i'm brooke's mother i said oh i said bitch i know who

[00:32:56] you are hello and it was so that was the highlight but my second london then london no because i i've only read about the sea partying in the bible i've never seen it in person so to see dale cam high part the seas and walk towards me that was like an out-of-body experience but dale moses cam high

[00:33:23] got it to be at the table and like me being kind of like nervous like i don't really know anyone like you know and then for you to just extend across the the beautiful centerpiece and say are you price oh yeah i will say that both of you separately came up to me and london was like i got to meet bryce oh my god and i'm like amazing and bryce also came up to me and he's like this ethereal creature

[00:33:50] london i'm like i'm not lying like i'm not lying so i'm so i have had multiple conversations about that moment because it's like it was the way you reached your arm and like but anyway so i just am calling you london yes name but but you can call me logan and i will not be offended at all especially after all that he calls me scott now so don't feel badly well i've noticed scott 2.0 yeah and then

[00:34:19] there's zach do you know who zach is i don't it's matt he can't get oh oh okay i was like is this a contestant of a scene zach and brockman i don't know what i've heard you flubbing up redmond's name in the first few episodes that i've listened to the show so okay anyway anyway we have korea correct

[00:34:41] and sorry south korea and brockman have the only korea that you can really go to like on the amazing race right north of the you know demarcations oh could you imagine they did go to the dmz ones right i saw that south korea yeah yeah they did so the boys finally make their way to the right gym and redmond is there talking jokes about how his cup stacking skills you know get him the ladies and so

[00:35:08] on and so forth and he does a pretty good job he seems to do it pretty quickly meanwhile we're all at the cabbages and tara and joey finish first even though they need to redo two of them you guys finish second you only need to redo one of them and we finish in a distant third we need to redo three of them but we all have to make our way by taxi to the Seoul on east stadium this i dare say is one of

[00:35:33] my favorite challenges not even challenges but like experiences of the race like the boys are it's worth whatever let's leave them alone for a second but we're in our cab the cabs are all switching positions tara and joey have left first but both of our teams passed them and bryce if you hear i made a little note for you i go good job tarik keep going made our cab driver part of our team note to future racers include your cab driver they'll work harder for you

[00:36:04] did tarik because i feel like it was london and logan's taxi driver at some point of the night he gave us a everyone was loving their cab driver except joey because they got fast and they were a little cranky i dare say when we got to the cultural center i mean to the east stadium and this is the second roadblock no detours this leg two roadblocks and it just says who's gonna take control

[00:36:28] you have to play street fighter 5 which by the way i played growing up and i also would have been chun lee because i think it's the funniest thing that scott picks the woman but that also would have my choice so play street fighter 5 and beat a super ridiculously good famous these guys have millions of followers pro gamer if your partner did the last one you have to do this one which meant that scott

[00:36:53] london and tara which thankfully i mean i seeing tara do this was the highlight of my race because she just she had a brook moment um but dare we say a little bit worse and we'll talk about why so london gets in there and i have to say watching you do this london is the joy of everything for me because she could have been like i don't know how to do this i never did a video game

[00:37:19] which was good doesn't matter how you get there as long as you get there do you remember the energy in this room it was just like every maybe you don't because you were behind the glass and like concentrating but it was like vibrating in this oh i vividly remember the empatheter of i mean what 50

[00:37:40] 75 plus 100 people watching us on big screens it was crazy yeah and meanwhile joey and i like couldn't do anything but like cheer and go oh yes and then oh and so we started getting people to do the wave we had people doing like cheers we had people being like some were yelling for london some were yelling for scott like we got them into it and everyone was really really into it and we're just

[00:38:07] having a ton of fun because what else can we do at this point and the boys aren't there if all four teams were there the energy would have been totally different but the energy was is what it is and this is sort of where i think the fandom started to turn on tara and joey a little bit because while scott is excited with chun lee that he didn't get a perfect ko on the first one and london is just smashing the shit out of every button and just being like i will win i can do this which is i need to

[00:38:36] learn how to be positive when shit's not going my way and joey is all this guy punched the soul out of tara and he's beating up a girl he's beating up a gal i'm like wait wait what yeah and the best part though is after like a couple tara goes did i win did i do it which yeah you did it no you didn't even get

[00:39:00] a punch in what are you doing the thing that i always find so interesting when amazing race which is why when i watch amazing race i'm always rooting for the underdogs right like anyone in the first three episodes that have come in first place or that are at the top of the pack i don't root for them right like i feel like i want to root for someone from the back so i just thought it was interesting like joey's take like and don't get me wrong right like we've seen scott and brooke go

[00:39:26] through it right we we've seen the scene the scene the scene the scene and we get to see logan a lot we get to see his muscle we get to you know we we get we we get to see it all and so it was just interesting to see joey like with his and we've seen him before like hiding from his partner because him thinking it would make his partner nervous but like

[00:39:53] so you think the player should go easy because like so that that's the part that i just like sometimes frustrates me where it's just like this is what happens this is what everyone else has been did you not see brooke in the ladle at no point in time did we say like oh that oh that chauvinist pig ladle he's showing how to beat a girl like you know what i mean like it it's interesting and why

[00:40:20] and again no shade to joey or any fun but like it's just funny when you see like stronger teams and they struggle it's like what do you think the back of the pack has doing or going through yeah they didn't really know what that felt like and i think that's interesting because we both of our teams knew what the back felt like so to be in the front was exciting and what what did i say

[00:40:47] the name of the back this season was logan london brooke and scott that was the name of the bag it's yeah that's all that we never were in the front i mean and yeah they never felt that it's crazy and then to see that attitude just like highlighted in this this episode it really put i did not like the energy they were putting out um at all because we were all going through the exact

[00:41:14] same thing one guy isn't doing anything other different than the others and like all that kept me going to like get through the challenge that i think helped me leave first and it was only by a few more minutes maybe two minutes before scott even got it so it didn't even help but like i just like after a round ended i was like again let's go again let's go like to just like keep

[00:41:37] going because i knew like once we saw their their i don't know the thing what once they got a penalty yes once the penalty started to arrive i was like okay let's just keep going i wasn't switching characters i wasn't you know figuring out how to do the game it was just like let's keep this characters what are you doing so you think that's gonna make you win that's gonna be way worse so the deal is after 10 rounds there's a penalty and it's funny because scott and i had talked about

[00:42:34] it's all about being fast because if you know you're gonna lose and you'll see something about this next week bryce if you know you're not going to get something in the allotted time or in the allotted round just lose and then start again so that you can get to the count that gives you the advantage and don't switch characters what are you doing tara sometimes you do well listen i'm a i'm a throw tara lay sometimes you do need to spice it up as somebody that's not good at video games that has

[00:43:02] multiple older brothers but london how long was the reset in the game like after you would lose how long would it take for them to reset the game two minutes even less yeah it was yeah it was pretty quick but it was there was time okay but it wasn't yeah for the amount of rounds we were one minute yeah two not not much i because i remember london between rounds you were like okay i've got this it was

[00:43:31] enough time to psych yourself up because the game just had to reload so yeah there was like a bar that would go across as you were waiting she's all i will win i will win this is the best positivity ever you were so perfect at this i know it was probably annoying for you but i'm so glad that you did this one just because the difference between you being so positive also never playing a video game and tara

[00:43:58] being so negative never playing a video game and remind me to tell you guys what my favorite moment of the episode which actually happens at the map which i don't think aired because i didn't see it when i re-watched it but i don't understand changing a character because you're going to start learning what the buttons do so then you're just going to have to do a new character and figure out what those but whatever it's not important should tara's too busy defending our nation from the real bad guys

[00:44:22] to play video games she says and she calls this guy a punk and this sweet boy is like i'm so sorry like he felt badly right he wasn't heckling her but but i love the fact that he didn't let up on the gas though okay i love that too it didn't stop oh okay wait he said oh okay and he turned into this okay but the thing is he's blind at one at some point because she was on like round 40

[00:44:52] so he was blindfolded and playing with one hand one finger yes so with one finger blindfolded it wasn't even like he wasn't letting up she just had to be so not good at it that him doing just whatever you can do with one finger was still knocking her out but i digress the boys at this point have gotten to the kimchi they're still remaining positive london's on rounds funny on

[00:45:16] the first round of the guy having no eyesight you nailed it she gets it logan goes eight shit crazy and then right after that because it's the same round but scott's a little slower so he's on round like 20 because london's on 21 he gets it and both of our teams are just losing our shit and we're like just get out of here before tara and joey like we actually can finish first and second

[00:45:41] and the root information says make your way to the roof of gavit som which is this floating island and find phil on the roof on the mat like i love that we were taught because our teams were the closest probably and we just really really enjoyed each other's company and wanted to help each other and wanted to have like just this moment so we run outside together tara's guy is blindfolded with one hand and do you remember do you remember what happened outside i don't think they showed it in

[00:46:11] the episode i think it's a behind the scenes do you remember what happened with the taxis outside the stadium yeah i mean i remember that like we got a cab and then he wouldn't take us and then you guys got a cab and we're so nice because we were out first and you said you can take our cab and we didn't and let you guys keep your cab and then it took us a few more minutes to find another cab

[00:46:36] and then we found a cab and then he got lost and it was a whole song and dance um i'm so sorry we offered to wait logan in london logan please so i understand i'm hearing this right

[00:46:58] the queen of this podcast that continuously gives us rules and rules and rules and rules the first time ever this season scott and scott are ahead and are you telling me after she tried to

[00:50:04] well we're never going to get this done we give up and still come back hold on i'm sorry is there a cab here you have a cab uh-huh oh okay because i'm giving that cab and wait you could say so if they give up if they say they quit and then phil comes out would you consider that a elimination you're not saying that right is

[00:50:32] it is there are there other teams still racing no there are no one's checked in racing but they quit but they but it but i think i i think it's not but maybe oh and i and brooke i agree with you brooke i brooke i put she also thinks we gave her our cab one thing is confused about things i'm confused let's roll the footage you said you'd wait i petitioned to have landon on every episode

[00:52:22] they switching up bacon is crying okay so she he's i'm sorry he does that he's not nice so okay not anyone cares anymore but the boys have finished the kimchi tara's on number 31 the boys show up as tara and joey are still working on this and they're so psyched that they have caught up and matt starts doing so well that the guy who played london who actually was the champion of the world was like

[00:52:49] i'm not gonna go easy on you and i wonder if matt had been a little bit worse at the beginning like faked being bad he would have gone a little bit easier on him but whatever anyway the two better teams are racing to the pit stop and we take the elevator london and logan take the stairs they make it look like it's that close but it's not there's about five minutes in between because they so kindly did not take our cab and do you and then at the pit stop scott and i come running around the corner

[00:53:18] i start crying and this is like one of my favorite moments of the whole thing because after we check in we know who's right behind us and london will logan i'm running around the corner and we just have like this big like jumping hug together and we're like all we wanted to do is make it to the end together and we did and then phil had us stand there and wait for who was next so this moment london talk about the moment where you guys came running around the corner or your way to the

[00:53:45] it was so exciting at that time like i just was couldn't believe that we had made it that far and to get to do it with you guys and like actually not be in last like or like in the back because there were only three teams making it through so um was just so exciting it felt so good i think that the other two teams no i think i know that the other two teams were expecting to both make it and figured

[00:54:15] that one of us would be the team that didn't make it so when we were first and second and we got to wait on the map for both of the other teams to arrive so i think that that was and do you remember i kind of was like will it be the boys can it be the boys should it be the boy oh i for sure wanted it to be the boys yeah yeah it would have been a good comeback okay so right you don't know right

[00:54:42] sorry so after i think it was 42 tries tara gets the um bacon honey i know it's okay so tara gets the okay um matt gets it like seven or eight minutes later and tara and joey come running around the corner they're in third place and they seem very very relieved and we um seem very very happy for

[00:55:05] them i don't know talk amongst yourself i mean uh they're there it's great we have a final three and we're we're we made it and then in like the saddest moment ever about 15 minutes later matt and redmond come running around the corner um and they talk about how redmond just wanted to be a

[00:55:32] role model to people and he really was and they were such good sports about it honestly they had such a shitty day and they came back at one point i think they were over an hour behind and they came back to within 15 minutes so it's a testament to how well they did the tasks when they got there um and i just wanted to like we tell you matt is in denver got married back in 2025 25 to a very free lady and redmond lives in san diego um i speak to him yeah and with his wife

[00:56:01] and two beautiful children and hopefully i think he's gonna come on and do something with us sometime soon um is there anything that i'm leaving out london any behind the scenes any thoughts any what were you up to i mean when we were waiting for the boys to arrive they had us get into a formation you know we they were like okay you guys are gonna stand here you're gonna stand here you're gonna do an applause when they run in like they set it up for the mood um so i found that that interesting also we

[00:56:31] learned there was no prize at the end this was the first leg where you didn't get like a prize for coming in first we all i didn't talk about that yeah we all got the prize and it's that we got to go to first class to go from south korea to wherever we end up going in the next episode and oh boy was that a prize so i was sad we didn't come in first but at least you know it didn't matter so it didn't

[00:57:00] so here's what mattered and i think this is why i'm like i wish you know i'm happy you won and but like if we would have come in first there it would have given us more like energy of like we can come in first we can do it um so that's the only thing by not being first going into the final leg i think it would have given us a little more like you know power to really make it in retrospect

[00:57:28] would you have gotten that cab oh i've i've thought about it yes i i really would have because our cab driver got lost and theirs didn't um so i've always thought but we got to watch the behind the scenes because why do i recall that we would have had your cab and the memory is that we wouldn't have gotten lost well we can take a quick pause but the one thing i do want to say is there was a

[00:57:53] prize on every leg of the race scott and i get to phil he tells us we're first place and scott goes what do we win and i'm sitting there also thinking what do we win because like holy crap this never happens to us and phil's like just just wait don't worry like it's good and scott's like what what's the prize he didn't like for coming what what do we win and phil's like it'll be good don't worry and and so he's like wait is he gonna tell us in front of everybody like what do we win

[00:58:19] like he's so excited and then when phil's everyone gets to fly business class to the next it's chicago you know where it ends and so we fly to chicago and the next one and i look at each other and we're like right yeah that's crazy every other leg i know people like i think it was greg and john who won the second to last leg of their season trip to fiji like there was always a good prize because you never

[00:58:46] know that might be the only time that you're ever in first place and you're like what is it he was just so excited and like just the air went out of his tires but it was still such such such an incredible day probably the best leg because there was no stairs there was no super duper heat there was no nobody passed out and had heat stroke nobody had to make a ladle like it was just it was more

[00:59:11] heartsy and dexterity and that was more fun at least the thing that i that made me the most sad was like with uh matt and redmond when they lost and like we get to see them in their interview every episode or every time they are first or second you know redmond always makes a leg joke and so i the way i was prepared for him to be like we're just one leg short and like oh and i and like for me

[00:59:39] i took that as for me i'm somebody that always jokes and like that's like my therapy and so like i'm like wow like oh i can only imagine how disappointed they were for something potentially out of their control and like if they hadn't gotten lost they really would have beat mom and dad and so like it sucks but that's the thing that i have loved about the amazing race that it's like never count

[01:00:06] anyone out and like the fact that the one of the two teams that they would have thought were be going home come in first and second like ah i just i love me some amazing race it's great i'm so happy you guys are doing these rewatch podcasts because i mean what it's like survivor i guess the old era or something i just feel like and ours isn't even like that much of a

[01:00:34] dramatic season i just have such a love for like the past seasons of the amazing race where it wasn't so lovey-dovey every moment right i think it's like a little better when there is just like a little more rough and tough so i'm glad you guys are going back and watching some of the older ones and um re-watching and obviously honored that you watched this one i love that you came on and joined us like this was so nice to have you here it's so great to have a perspective of like another person who

[01:01:04] was in the same leg and we both just had such a good night that night that it was just like a joyful experience um it's different than having on you know the team that went home that day because you're all it's not as good a feeling so this was just i loved racing with you i hope we get to do it again sometime soon and it was this one was a joy and and honestly the next one it's just fun to finish
