[00:08:55] [SPEAKER_02]: but this episode really had one, which was kind of nice because it allowed for more of those

[00:09:00] [SPEAKER_02]: camp life character moments, which were really fun.

[00:09:03] [SPEAKER_02]: But kicking it off, you know, the tribes enter all on the same boat,

[00:09:08] [SPEAKER_02]: which I don't feel like they usually do.

[00:14:05] [SPEAKER_04]: That was always a favorite of mine as well.

[00:14:08] [SPEAKER_07]: I didn't even watch it back then.

[00:14:12] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, I think I would agree with you guys.

[00:14:14] [SPEAKER_02]: The barge is always really fun.

[00:14:15] [SPEAKER_02]: But I kind of like that they switch it up every season,

[00:14:17] [SPEAKER_02]: keep it fresh unlike a lot of other things.

[00:14:21] [SPEAKER_02]: So we get to this reward challenge

[00:14:24] [SPEAKER_02]: and it's pretty straightforward.

[00:14:27] [SPEAKER_02]: Going in pairs out through the mud

[00:14:30] [SPEAKER_02]: to collect several puzzle pieces

[00:14:33] [SPEAKER_02]: to assemble this vertical cube sort of puzzle.

[00:14:39] [SPEAKER_02]: And the cut and dry of it is that...

[00:14:43] [SPEAKER_02]: Sorry, so I guess before we get to this

[00:14:44] [SPEAKER_02]: we should break down the tribes.

[00:14:45] [SPEAKER_02]: So the Yellow Tribe, we have Gata, Andy, John, Sam,

[00:14:50] [SPEAKER_02]: Annika, Rachel, Sierra, Lava, we have Rome, Sol, Tishon, Aisha,

[00:14:56] [SPEAKER_02]: Genevieve, Teeny, Tuku, Gabe, Kyle, TK, Sue, Tiana and Caroline.

[00:15:05] [SPEAKER_02]: Or I believe it's Gata, the Yellow Tribe,

[00:15:09] [SPEAKER_02]: is able to take it home and win those initial supplies.

[00:15:13] [SPEAKER_02]: Did anything pop out to you guys from this first challenge?

[00:15:17] [SPEAKER_04]: Not so much the first challenge,

[00:15:19] [SPEAKER_04]: but I think during the marooning when Jeff is calling out people

[00:15:22] [SPEAKER_04]: and I believe it's John the Podcaster.

[00:15:26] [SPEAKER_04]: I felt like he spoke extremely too well during this time period.

[00:15:34] [SPEAKER_04]: Like it reminded me of being on my season

[00:15:37] [SPEAKER_04]: and I remember when David Sampson spoke for the first time

[00:15:40] [SPEAKER_04]: and I was just like, oh...

[00:15:43] [SPEAKER_04]: Like he says so much and John says so...

[00:15:47] [SPEAKER_04]: He set a conundrum or something,

[00:15:49] [SPEAKER_04]: but to me in that moment watching I was like, oh wow,

[00:15:53] [SPEAKER_04]: not only do we know he's wrote for President Obama and Hillary,

[00:15:57] [SPEAKER_04]: like he can talk and he's funny and he's got a personality.

[00:16:01] [SPEAKER_04]: And I was like, ooh, not red flag,

[00:16:04] [SPEAKER_04]: but like green flag, that's actually a red flag

[00:16:07] [SPEAKER_04]: because it's like, I don't know if I want to sit next to you

[00:16:09] [SPEAKER_04]: because you clearly can talk.

[00:16:12] [SPEAKER_07]: To that I will say, Bryce, I agree.

[00:16:15] [SPEAKER_07]: When I heard him talk, I was like, yo,

[00:16:57] [SPEAKER_02]: And you know, ultimately it's a shame that we lost him

[00:17:33] [SPEAKER_02]: sort of initial journey, which is taking the place

[00:17:36] [SPEAKER_02]: of our typical sweat versus savvy.

[00:17:38] [SPEAKER_02]: They're going to have an opportunity to win

[00:17:40] [SPEAKER_02]: some supplies for their camp.

[00:17:43] [SPEAKER_02]: Ultimately the red tribe sends, is it Aisha or Asia?

[00:17:47] [SPEAKER_02]: Asia.

[00:17:48] [SPEAKER_02]: Asia.

[00:17:49] [SPEAKER_02]: They send Asia and the blue tribe sends TK.

[00:17:53] [SPEAKER_02]: And you know before we dive into all the stuff going on

[00:17:55] [SPEAKER_02]: at camp I figure we just cut to the journey

[00:17:58] [SPEAKER_02]: and talk about it a little bit where on this journey

[00:18:00] [SPEAKER_02]: they're kind of one by one shown these planks

[00:18:04] [SPEAKER_02]: with a picture of where the next key they need is located.

[00:18:08] [SPEAKER_02]: They each have three keys themselves and then the fourth

[00:18:11] [SPEAKER_02]: and final key that determines the winner is out on the water.

[00:18:16] [SPEAKER_02]: And it seems like they're pretty neck in neck.

[00:18:19] [SPEAKER_02]: Ultimately TK gets out to the water before

[00:18:21] [SPEAKER_02]: but he's struggling to find the key.

[00:18:23] [SPEAKER_02]: And Asia gets there as well, tries to wrestle it away from him.

[00:18:30] [SPEAKER_02]: is able to hold on to it and win that supplies for his tribe.

[00:18:34] [SPEAKER_02]: But I guess what I wanted to ask you guys is,

[00:18:36] [SPEAKER_02]: what did we think about this new sort of sweat or savvy alternative?

[00:44:38] [SPEAKER_02]: in like a very balanced way where he's not like really he's not necessarily like later on when he

[00:44:43] [SPEAKER_02]: when John and Annie come in with this plan it doesn't seem like he's necessarily throwing

[00:44:46] [SPEAKER_02]: them under the bus but he takes that information and then goes to the girls and's like okay here's

[00:50:03] [SPEAKER_02]: like really self-conscious really paranoid about like your own behavior and that is exactly how

[00:50:08] [SPEAKER_02]: it starts to spiral because then things that are so minor and not a big deal suddenly become a

[00:50:14] [SPEAKER_02]: big deal like for Andy with the coconuts you know he looks like a guy who is comfortable in the

[00:50:23] [SPEAKER_02]: self-admittedly says he's not and so that's when he does something good you give him some support but

[00:50:28] [SPEAKER_02]: you know like if I'm playing if you're if it's if Jonathan Young is it chops a coconut you're

[00:50:36] [SPEAKER_02]: not gonna be like awesome job Jonathan like no way you did that you know it's in a way it's a

[00:50:41] [SPEAKER_02]: little it's kind of a good thing that people aren't clapping for you to do normal survival

[00:50:47] [SPEAKER_02]: tasks because it shows that you they seem like you're comfortable. But your insecurities

[00:52:06] [SPEAKER_02]: is going to be looked at as an asset so don't allow yourself to get too caught up on like

[00:52:10] [SPEAKER_02]: being a target because once you start to think you're a target it's a self-fulfilling

[00:52:14] [SPEAKER_02]: prophecy of that you start to do things that make you a target.

[01:26:02] [SPEAKER_04]: I think that you should shake things up right and so what the fact that he went home at least

[01:26:07] [SPEAKER_04]: he went home swinging I just feel like the editing here was interesting because

[01:26:14] [SPEAKER_04]: immediately we just see John on the defense and it's like why are you on the defense

[01:26:18] [SPEAKER_04]: it really should be Andy and I think the first red flag was the lady saying like

[01:26:22] [SPEAKER_04]: we're going to go with you we're going to tell Andy it's you because he won't believe anything else

[01:26:29] [SPEAKER_04]: but then John talks to Andy and he's like it's on a cook right so I feel like I don't believe we're

[01:26:35] [SPEAKER_04]: seeing things in the sequence that we should be seeing them in because even when he was talking to

[01:26:43] [SPEAKER_04]: Sam Sam immediately just wasn't with it at all so again it leads me to believe that John was

[01:26:50] [SPEAKER_04]: this bigger threat we just didn't really get to see and I think that John knew that which is why

[01:26:55] [SPEAKER_04]: he is going out swinging so I'm not mad at it and good for him for trying to make a move

[01:27:00] [SPEAKER_04]: some way somehow instead of just like sitting there and gambling gambling on it yeah what do

[01:27:08] [SPEAKER_02]: you think about that it's tough because I think this in this instance I do you think when

[01:27:18] [SPEAKER_02]: you're being kind of thrown out as the decoy even if it's true it's not necessarily like especially

[01:27:27] [SPEAKER_02]: in John's position where he's kind of a big personality and people kind of know his podcast

[01:27:34] [SPEAKER_02]: if you just sit by like I would just it would hurt if you're in his position to sit by and

[01:27:40] [SPEAKER_02]: have trust that Andy is going to go and then ultimately that decision still going to boil

[01:27:44] [SPEAKER_02]: down to Sam and the girls and they might have sent home John anyway so I think

[01:27:50] [SPEAKER_02]: sometimes you have to know when to chill but I do think that at least you like took some action here

[01:27:56] [SPEAKER_02]: and I can totally see why John did that and in this instance I think maybe for his odds would

[01:28:03] [SPEAKER_02]: have been better if he chilled still might have gone home and even if Andy had gone home

[01:28:08] [SPEAKER_02]: the fact that they were willing to throw John out as a decoy it seems like John probably

[01:28:12] [SPEAKER_02]: would have been next and so I think it's just kind of a bad hand to be dealt and I can't blame

[01:28:19] [SPEAKER_02]: is it the ideal move maybe not but I can't blame John for hearing that it's like oh it's you or

[01:28:24] [SPEAKER_02]: Andy and then not wanting to sit by and accept that you know what I mean I like I'm taking

[01:28:31] [SPEAKER_04]: I like I'm taking action when hearing it yeah I also felt like and again don't get me wrong

[01:28:37] [SPEAKER_04]: Andy looks strong so does Sam but I didn't necessarily see anything that led me to believe

[01:28:43] [SPEAKER_04]: that John was weak though that was the thing that was kind of like throwing me off a little bit

[01:28:49] [SPEAKER_02]: yeah yeah and maybe that was just an excuse of like kind of covered for the concerns they had about

[01:28:55] [SPEAKER_02]: his long-term strengths as well um I think maybe if I were John that maybe and maybe he did do

[01:29:03] [SPEAKER_02]: something and see it rather than really like grabbing the reins and going to Sam and being like

[01:29:08] [SPEAKER_02]: this is gonna be the move maybe let Andy kind of take that spearhead that and then maybe if you're

[01:29:16] [SPEAKER_02]: John after you can go talk to Sam be like do we want to make a move or do we just want to stick

[01:29:20] [SPEAKER_02]: with Andy and maybe get a more honest read out of Sam it can be kind of brought into that group

[01:29:25] [SPEAKER_02]: a little bit more effectively but I don't know it doesn't seem it also we don't know a lot

[01:29:30] [SPEAKER_02]: about John's relationships and I feel like from what we have seen he has gone along with Annika

[01:29:36] [SPEAKER_02]: like he admires her preparation and and her knowledge and so maybe if you were gonna make a move

[01:29:42] [SPEAKER_02]: that's someone you pull in rather than target because I don't know I don't know that probably

[01:29:48] [SPEAKER_02]: for John there's not really a good other target to throw out other than Andy right

[01:29:54] [SPEAKER_04]: what does that say that after this whole episode that Andy had he received no votes

[01:30:04] [SPEAKER_02]: kind of like what I touched on earlier like if if it's early days and you're viewed as an asset

[01:30:10] [SPEAKER_02]: and challenges uh and not like I mean he definitely was rough socially but not in the sense of like

[01:30:17] [SPEAKER_02]: people disliked him uh then you kind of just got to chill and you'll be all right for the

[01:30:23] [SPEAKER_02]: most part now sometimes there's groups where they see that it's a threat and they want to take you

[01:30:28] [SPEAKER_02]: out but for the most part if you're if you're an asset these challenges especially in an era of fewer

[01:30:34] [SPEAKER_02]: swaps where you might be needed for six challenges it doesn't make sense to cut you loose earlier

[01:30:40] [SPEAKER_07]: else you might have to vote out the whole tribe so question do we uh do we think that this tribe

[01:30:47] [SPEAKER_07]: is going to be a hot mess like historic yellow tribes have been I don't think so they won the

[01:30:56] [SPEAKER_04]: first challenge like I think like they have what it takes I think um I hope in these upcoming episodes

[01:31:03] [SPEAKER_04]: we I hope that Andy receiving no votes validates him and kind of can calm the the feelings in

[01:31:12] [SPEAKER_04]: his head and that like he can propel himself second question do we think do we think Andy can

[01:31:18] [SPEAKER_07]: bounce back absolutely if they go to tribal again who's next probably Ann Anika I don't know because

[01:31:29] [SPEAKER_07]: now you got I don't know um and my last question oh it seems like this is a tribe of a lot of pretty

[01:31:37] [SPEAKER_07]: people do we see any maybe happening show me well Sam was a girlfriend I think in this so

[01:31:46] [SPEAKER_02]: that would be a girlfriend too okay yeah yeah Andy as a girlfriend too um although it seems like

[01:31:54] [SPEAKER_02]: the person he would be most interested on a on a platonic level wasn't really thrilled about that

[01:32:00] [SPEAKER_02]: either Rachel so um yeah I don't know I mean Sierra gave me I was impressed with her this

[01:32:07] [SPEAKER_02]: episode she kind of gave me um Lauren from heroes healers hustlers vibes kind of a niche poll

[01:32:14] [SPEAKER_04]: but um I like the I like Sierra uh from the way that she talks her dialect and how she like speaks

[01:32:23] [SPEAKER_04]: you can tell she's from our neck of the woods she definitely sounds like uh a Philly adjacent

[01:32:33] [SPEAKER_04]: like not the Philly accent but like you know what I mean like how she was talking like I feel

[01:32:37] [SPEAKER_04]: like I hear that type of talk all the time so it's like uh I really like Sierra yeah I was

[01:32:43] [SPEAKER_02]: impressed with her um and yeah as far as I don't it's a good question because we've seen

[01:32:47] [SPEAKER_02]: so many hot mess tribes and on paper I'm nervous the blue tribe looks really strong uh and I think

[01:32:53] [SPEAKER_02]: they don't have a lot of puzzle people so maybe that could be a barrier because um but the red

[01:33:00] [SPEAKER_02]: tribe doesn't I think right now on paper that the yellow group is stronger than the red tribe

[01:33:06] [SPEAKER_02]: um although small has that bad strength for sure I mean yeah he was a beast

[01:33:12] [SPEAKER_04]: I think the blue tribe has the potential of being the hot mesh tribe

[01:33:16] [SPEAKER_06]: really blue tribe despite the fact that they maybe look at the strongest physically

[01:33:23] [SPEAKER_06]: was they who did they both flip over

[01:33:27] [SPEAKER_07]: yeah but I'm just saying those votes now and Keanu are gonna be like leaders in these challenges

[01:33:35] [SPEAKER_04]: in suit like you got man I'm just I'm just saying the potential I'm not I'm not a gambling man

[01:33:44] [SPEAKER_02]: yeah I don't I don't think it will be pretty balanced I don't but it's hard to say but you

[01:33:50] [SPEAKER_02]: look at the yellow tribe now and not that John was necessarily weak but they don't have any like

[01:33:56] [SPEAKER_02]: standout weak people I don't feel like um I do think the blue group the blue tribe is gonna

[01:34:02] [SPEAKER_02]: be pretty strong with like I mean TK is a beast Gabe's pretty physical Kyle's pretty physical

[01:34:09] [SPEAKER_02]: Tiana is pretty physical Sue is yes and then Caroline looks like she you know it seems like

[01:34:16] [SPEAKER_02]: she's pretty pretty good on the puzzle so they could be one of these tribes that

[01:34:21] [SPEAKER_07]: almost steamrolls through to the merge and then the remaining tribes start picking them off

[01:34:27] [SPEAKER_02]: yeah um but yeah I guess ultimately you know we've gone I like what we're talking about because it's

[01:34:35] [SPEAKER_02]: sort of like what do we see coming down the line I don't I don't necessarily know who

[01:34:41] [SPEAKER_02]: who did we not talk about that you guys have a good feel a go to or a bad feeling about

[01:34:46] [SPEAKER_02]: that like just wasn't that that much of a Genevieve I think is her name I like Genevieve's

[01:34:52] [SPEAKER_04]: preseason and I like what I saw from her in the episode of like just her cohesiveness with her tribe

[01:34:58] [SPEAKER_04]: so I liked her I think is there there's a racial right yeah I liked Rachel we didn't see a ton of

[01:35:05] [SPEAKER_04]: her but for me as I'm watching I'm like looking at them like interact with other people and I'm

[01:35:10] [SPEAKER_04]: like okay they jealous so it's like I really like this uh this cast as a whole like there are a lot

[01:35:16] [SPEAKER_04]: of likable chaotic energetic and fun characters that are like willing to make big moves so overall

[01:35:25] [SPEAKER_04]: I'm like very happy with this season thus far yeah right so you kind of reminded me of a point

[01:35:32] [SPEAKER_02]: that I wanted to make whenever is that I'm gonna call a shot here early I feel very strongly

[01:35:40] [SPEAKER_02]: that this season to be won by another woman because I look at the women in this cast I

[01:35:44] [SPEAKER_02]: think they're across the board pretty solid like I look at like you said Genevieve I think has a great

[01:35:50] [SPEAKER_02]: vibe Rachel seems really solid Sue really surprised me with how she came out so far

[01:35:55] [SPEAKER_02]: teeny is a really strong social game so far well on the flip side I look at the guys

[01:36:01] [SPEAKER_02]: there's not really one guy that I have super high hopes for right now I mean I guess

[01:36:07] [SPEAKER_02]: based on what we talked about it would maybe for me it would be Sam but I also has that like

[01:36:12] [SPEAKER_02]: physical thing about him where that's not really the archetype of a winner recently because it could

[01:36:17] [SPEAKER_02]: be a physical threat and then you look at like I think Gabe and Rome came out a little strong

[01:36:26] [SPEAKER_02]: Saul's a little bit older I love I hope to see some stuff from him but a lot of times

[01:36:30] [SPEAKER_02]: it's hard to integrate TK seems like TK's I'm begging TK's is really athletic and like

[01:36:39] [SPEAKER_02]: but I don't know if he's quite got the survivor mindset from what we saw of like the strategy of

[01:36:47] [SPEAKER_02]: it all so I just feel like the women have a lot more winner equity right now than I think the guys did

[01:36:52] [SPEAKER_04]: I agree with that statement but when I looked at the preseason and I looked at the people

[01:36:57] [SPEAKER_04]: I felt like this might be a I think that this we might have a guy winner really

[01:37:03] [SPEAKER_04]: it why is that just when I just look when I do you know did my it's a look with Robert like I felt

[01:37:10] [SPEAKER_04]: like because the women were so strong and standout ish I felt like maybe somebody's going to slip by

[01:37:19] [SPEAKER_04]: and after this episode like I was like Kyle has no chance I really like Kyle

[01:37:26] [SPEAKER_02]: I like Kyle too I want to see more key Sean as well we didn't see yeah like

[01:37:30] [SPEAKER_04]: Dr. Patel oh I like Dr. Patel I can see Dr. Patel he's probably he'd be in the conversation too of

[01:37:37] [SPEAKER_02]: the guys but that's just my my my shot that I'm calling just on the surface I think across the

[01:37:42] [SPEAKER_02]: board I think the women are really strong players and across the board I don't see as much

[01:37:48] [SPEAKER_04]: for the guys yeah well I mean this was a great episode looks like we're off to a great season
