[00:03:30] We are back your purple pants podcast. Pit stop crew is back. We have another season of

[00:03:37] amazing race. We are covering amazing race season 36 episode one I am joined by my pit stop

[00:03:44] host the amazing the always positive the winner of amazing race season 29. Let's welcome back

[00:03:54] to the podcast as she sits on her rightful throne miss Brooke cam high good win. Hello always

[00:04:03] positive. Okay. I'm a do my damnedest that is that's the power of positive thinking right there

[00:04:12] I will try it is Brooke we have another season to cover and I am so excited. I feel like last season

[00:04:20] I was like on the most excited number but I really think this season I am even more

[00:04:27] exhilarated for this season of amazing race. I feel like I've met some of the amazing racers

[00:04:34] ahead of time, which is kind of crazy. So I feel like I'm a little biased but I

[00:04:41] I'm just really excited for this season. I'm back every week with my girl Brooke cam high so you know

[00:04:45] we're gonna do our best to not let our outside bias come into our review of the show but

[00:04:49] we're gonna fail miserably I'm sure because I too I'm totally biased but I'm gonna try not to be

[00:04:55] I feel like first of all these teams are amazing right like I'm casting did a great job because

[00:05:01] there is not anybody that I am not rooting for now on my rewatch I did have a little note I feel

[00:05:09] like I got a cuss some teams I feel like I know the team that I'm gonna be the most hardest one

[00:05:13] which is probably going to be surprising. Okay, but I feel like you know me I'm an emotional being

[00:05:21] at times and in the first like five minutes of this episode I was like busing out crying. I really

[00:05:27] think Chris and Mary really like I don't know why just like you know and then when we got to Danny

[00:05:34] and Angie oh come on yes so it's like I am rooting for the parents this like I am welcome to

[00:05:42] welcome to team Brooke rooting for the parent child teams for the parent such a story oh my god

[00:05:48] the cousins everyone has such a story and I'm excited I I actually really was a little bit

[00:05:55] worried that since these were originally edited as an hour and they went back and put in extra time

[00:06:01] that it was just gonna be fluff and filler and a lot of stupidity but I really really liked what

[00:06:07] they did an episode one there was a little bit of dragging there was a lot of driving there was

[00:06:11] a lot of four thousand point turns I don't know whatever but for the most part I like the information

[00:06:18] they put it out you can sort of tell where they added and some back stories and so I think it's

[00:06:22] gonna be an absolutely great season I have 17 pages of notes because episode one of the season

[00:06:30] with 13 teams is ridiculous but that's okay we're gonna do our best so you know buckle up and follow

[00:06:38] yes I feel like Phil pissed me off this episode as always well in the first episode just because it's

[00:06:46] that this season it is none no non-aluminations now mind you I've been watching amazing race to

[00:06:53] know that we're going ahead at least two super legs as so in my opinion a super leg part one of

[00:07:02] the super leg is a non elimination round but well not today I have to say there was a little part

[00:07:10] of me that was like wait a second if it's keep racing it's not a pit stop there shouldn't be an

[00:07:16] elimination I am sort of of the mind maybe it's because if you got eliminated and it really didn't

[00:07:21] want them to go home but I'm sort of on the mindset of you're still racing if there's no first place

[00:07:26] if there's no prize if there's no something that way is not over they should not but that being said

[00:07:32] on the other hands the amazing race has in the past eliminated people in the middle of a leg

[00:07:38] that wasn't the end of a leg so they can do really whatever they want so shut up brook and we're

[00:07:43] gonna let them do it however they want to do it so if they want to call this a leg I don't I call

[00:07:48] it half a leg but whatever we could just call it a thigh a thigh exactly this is the knee up

[00:07:54] yes next week needs to chose um but I I agree with you I think the teams are stellar I think casting

[00:08:03] did just like perfection in their work so far I mean we'll see what happens we didn't get to know

[00:08:10] all of them as is the norm because there were so many teams to be shoving stuff into a first episode

[00:08:16] but should we should we talk about it we absolutely can but let me give you my first take that I

[00:08:23] was breaking up that I was like I think I'm going to love charisma well I already love a

[00:08:28] cajurean charisma but when they were running up on the beach I was thinking like wait is the water

[00:08:34] the tide like the water the water was going in and out and I was like if I were running I would not

[00:08:39] want to get my feet wet like starting the regoff and you could see a charisma in the little

[00:08:44] when she was running she was like uh but how good noticing stuff come on look at you Mr. Details okay

[00:08:52] but I would definitely would have been on the other side not trying to get my my feet wet because

[00:08:56] in a nothing worse than a soggy sock in a sneaker agree I had two pairs of sneakers on the amazing race

[00:09:04] and in oh my god we're in Africa I pair my sneakers got a little bit wet and they got so funky I was

[00:09:11] like they got to go I threw them out and I was working with one for the rest of the race which was

[00:09:15] fine but I had a backup pair just in case something went horribly wrong but they they went right into

[00:09:21] the ocean and I was like this is disgusting they had so I had to smell like never smells and so

[00:09:25] I was like we're done here but yeah imagine starting leg one minute one with a soggy sock

[00:09:32] I'll be pissed off uh but that was like my first note that I was like let me just take a

[00:09:37] little something so I broke don't show me up you're already making me look bad which I love make

[00:09:43] me look bad I'm into it I did not have that note I have a lot of notes I didn't know that note okay

[00:09:48] so we have 13 teams we have everyone at the start line in Portify or to Mexico it is rare when

[00:09:53] they start outside of the United States so this is a little bit different I like it um and then they

[00:09:58] all go through their niceties that they say about their partners and feels like tells a little bit

[00:10:02] about yourself and then we have you know a couple of people speak up you have Michelle and Sean who

[00:10:07] are the double dutchers who want to teach you how to jump rope you have Anthony and Bailey who are um

[00:10:13] I'm sorry did I roll my eyes out loud I apologize I think they're great

[00:10:19] I love you I just when common sense is not so common I think what these two for me with them it was

[00:10:27] when we got a little backstory and they were saying how this race is going to be good for them

[00:10:30] because they're like they've always been put against each other as I was like oh I could see that

[00:10:35] but then it was like who makes more money who has the hottest girl whose hair is longer

[00:10:40] whose eyelash I was like but then they're like you know what it doesn't matter who's better like we're

[00:10:45] better together and I actually really like that sentiment between the two of them and had they not

[00:10:49] just been like super ditty during the first episode I think I would think that they you know I think

[00:10:54] they compliment each other really really well but like maybe maybe it's just you gotta get your

[00:11:00] bearings and you're putting right and I think they have the potential to do very very well

[00:11:05] but they're just they're really leaning into that like beach bum surfer dude you love it no

[00:11:12] care in the world style maybe that'll get a flip of switch and get really really focused I

[00:11:18] agree I feel like they started their car and it didn't start all the way but I feel like soon as

[00:11:25] that engine or like soon as it revs I feel like they're going to go but I love them I think

[00:11:32] their energy is just so fun and it just like started their car it didn't start all the way it hit

[00:11:36] the curb it almost hit a pedestrian but but at least it didn't get stuck and they couldn't turn

[00:11:42] around so you know we have to give them some credit um and then you have Mary and Chris who oh my

[00:11:46] God this is sub story number one but also father daughter you know I'm obviously already in love

[00:11:52] with them these two live in a one bedroom apartment and I'm saying just give them the money this is

[00:11:56] like the bunk beds of last season like we need to get them a bigger apartment we just need to give

[00:12:01] them the money it might just be because I love a father daughter team and I just want them to win

[00:12:05] but no we need we need them to each have their own bedroom I feel very strongly about this

[00:12:10] yes and I want them to do well and they are so oh my God supportive yeah and Mary my dad I would

[00:12:16] be like get up and she's like it's cool don't worry you're fine you're fine I see a little

[00:12:23] annalisa and Mary right because Mary was on this episode like she played no games and I was like

[00:12:29] oh they we they're we need to watch out for them but I mean of course I was falling in love with

[00:12:35] first because I just feel like you know I just loved his energy but when we get to Danny and Angie

[00:12:40] I think they complete we eclipse them in my opinion because uh I just loved Danny and Danny

[00:12:47] and Angie get to it he's allergic to everything everything I just

[00:12:53] And so I think the part where I started crying uh was when they were in the car and he was like

[00:12:59] this has just been my dream and first of all why is Angie driving okay okay Angie was out she like

[00:13:07] and when she was just like anything to see my son happy like I like I just I feel like I'm

[00:13:15] tearing up now because it's just like I think about my mom and my mom you know she's older like

[00:13:22] you know I'm a certain age so my mom is a certain age uh but I feel like if I were to call my mom

[00:13:26] right now and say girl we doing amazing rakes uh and with all of my mom's health issues my mom will

[00:13:33] be like let's go so I just uh I really felt Angie and just seeing her drive and just saying like

[00:13:39] anything uh to do for my son I'll do it uh that really kind of pulled on my heart string and

[00:13:46] she was doing great this was not like she couldn't hang she was not only hanging she wouldn't wait

[00:13:52] later on in the episode she was she rocking it she said Danny you want me to help you

[00:13:57] yeah okay Angie and then we have a couple more at the start line you have Shane and Juan who talk about

[00:14:03] they're making their wives proud Ivana Melissa who uh she's first Ivana's first generation Mexican

[00:14:09] American um I'm thinking they maybe they have a leg up here um and then you have Rowan and Maya

[00:14:15] who at the start line talk about how big a super fan they are talk about how this this is what

[00:14:21] caught me how in high school he had to take French and she had to take Spanish so that when this moment

[00:14:26] happened and they got on the race they would know how to speak multiple languages like that is some

[00:14:31] forethought like I really liked them I loved them I like I love seeing the flashback of Maya

[00:14:39] like in her hat that she was then wearing on the race I was like they've been waiting for this moment

[00:14:44] forever uh and so they they stole my heart I know and I'm not gonna hold against them that they

[00:14:49] talked about watching teams like Tammy and Victor and Nick and star because they're siblings and so

[00:14:53] I'm not mad I didn't get a shout out but honestly could he give me a shout out anyway so Phil

[00:15:00] talks about how there's no non-aluminations how they're going to two new countries um and then

[00:15:06] here's my other question okay sorry sorry I'm sorry I'm sorry I'm not here was the question that I wrote

[00:15:11] you just we just just come off go yeah here was a question that I wrote do you feel like

[00:15:17] Phil did voiceovers for this intro because I don't know if you peaked they were going back and forth

[00:15:22] and then I was like two new countries that's the little answer I was like now how would

[00:15:25] y'all know that because the other one was still first but I was noticing how during that time

[00:15:30] they were flashback and I said is Phil in the studio doing a voiceover so I don't think he was um

[00:15:38] because on season 34 they also went to one new country which was Jordan and so it's just the same

[00:15:44] as saying they're they went to one new country last season it just happened to be Slovenia as opposed

[00:15:48] to Jordan so it there was no difference that being said he does sometimes do a voiceover because

[00:15:53] on our season in the last episode we were in Chicago and um the Cubs had not won the World Series at

[00:16:00] the time that we filmed but at the time that we aired they had won the World Series and so he did

[00:16:05] do a little voiceover that talked about the World Series winning Chicago Cubs and so they do do that

[00:16:10] but in this case both 34 and 35 went to one new country so what he was saying here

[00:16:16] it's six and one it didn't make a difference but maybe I don't know so then

[00:16:23] is the moment where I rise out of my body and I start having like these flashbacks that oh my

[00:16:28] God I remember this moment where Phil goes the world is waiting good luck travel safe I'm crying

[00:16:33] and so I have to pause the TV because I'm like having a moment where I'm like oh my God I remember

[00:16:38] how this feels and it was legitimately you know there are some moments in your life when you

[00:16:42] remember you'll never forget the exact feeling of that moment when we were in LA and we had

[00:16:48] that moment I remember just being like oh my God this is actually this is happening because I was

[00:16:53] such a fan and you can tell on the faces of some of the people they're like Ricky and say star

[00:16:59] and Rowan and might you just see their faces and they were just like like just vibrating

[00:17:04] and so I'm crying and I have to wait for my tears and then he says go and they're off

[00:17:10] and they were they were all they were off off like they I was like baby it's a marathon not a

[00:17:17] race slow down like they I was like first of all Rowan was in the front and first I was like oh my

[00:17:24] God you know if they didn't have to drive anywhere they would have been okay they did tasks

[00:17:28] very fast and so unfortunately you know you got to drive but they did do their task very quickly so

[00:17:35] anyway Danny tells his mom as they're running she doesn't need to go fast and she's like yes

[00:17:39] I do like she's trying to like slow her down I honestly think she's going to be pulling him along

[00:17:43] as long as they go um so and then we meet Derek and Shalisa who are listed as grandparents but no

[00:17:53] they look good Derek look good Shalisa look good they police officers now mind you

[00:17:59] Derek I feel like I might have to get Derek together this season I just could feel now

[00:18:05] I try feel like Shalisa can't handle her own but out there was a couple times I was like Derek

[00:18:11] but at the same time I was like you know Derek if you want to arrest me

[00:18:16] you they look great I mean oh my god oh my god I mean it all fairness their grandparents

[00:18:21] in their 50s so it's not like they're you know elderly but they look fantastic and kudos to her

[00:18:28] she talks about being the first African-American woman on the police force and he was the police

[00:18:33] she I don't know if that's right yeah okay so anyway these two you can tell are going to be like the

[00:18:40] snickery bickery ones of the season but like in a very funny way like he mocks her and she's like

[00:18:45] just shot up like they're just very very cute and I think they're gonna do really really well

[00:18:50] one thing though girl you're you have a backpack that opens up and like 18 crossword puzzle books

[00:18:57] fall out of that thing what are you doing like not only should you not be doing anything other than

[00:19:02] studying what you've been doing on the race on the race like I get you want to keep your mind sharp

[00:19:06] but focus on everything you did that day how much weight in cross within 10 minutes like no we're leaving

[00:19:12] it it's not gonna work we got to leave it okay I mean and everyone I know has left something along

[00:19:17] the race course I left like the clothes as we went along and I didn't need them anymore but she had

[00:19:22] like an encyclopedia of crossword puzzle books in her backpack yeah I was thinking that say I was

[00:19:31] really I felt like I felt like Derek told her not to bring them and then she brought them anyway

[00:19:37] and then they fell out he was like what we gonna do with these as she just threw them in the trash

[00:19:42] you know why what are you doing you could have served as your notebook no you should have a

[00:19:49] notebook look when you go to run the race I'll pack your bag for you okay so everyone get through

[00:19:55] the root info which is dry to downtown port of ayarta find the valedoras which is like the flying

[00:20:00] birdman who by the way I think I watched this scene eight times this guy who's on the top of

[00:20:05] this pole like jumping up and down he's not tied into anything so the best of my knowledge like

[00:20:10] these people are taking their lives into their hands for their art and it was very cool so was

[00:20:16] Anthony Anthony was a lot to play his life from the line common sense is not common I don't mean to

[00:20:23] jump ahead no that's fine he's like I think we have joy I get to free climb this thing and I think

[00:20:28] it was you're I think it was Anthony and Bailey's like no what are you talking about you literally

[00:20:34] like had a foot on one of the things like star I mean I noticed is the amazing race but you know they

[00:20:40] do care about your safety but and production doesn't get involved like they will let you drive

[00:20:44] the wrong way for like 84 hours like they don't get involved right but at some point some producers

[00:20:51] gonna have to be like uh nip like what are you doing you do not climb in that but I feel like

[00:20:56] somebody had to tell him like tell your brother he's not supposed to climb that yes I feel like it was

[00:21:01] the uh I feel like it was the the people doing it like no don't don't climb it but I love to

[00:21:09] spear it though like that's why I feel like they're going to I feel like they're going to go far

[00:21:13] because I feel like they have the dare devil go get them type of attitude so I mean we love to see

[00:21:19] it I do like the attitude I like the positivity and speaking of so we have rod the NFL player who

[00:21:25] when he gets in the car goes where's the map and I'm like dude you don't get a map there's no map

[00:21:30] like come on but anyway he is here he is excited he will tell you he's here and he is screaming about

[00:21:37] it and I am such I didn't think I was necessarily going to be a fan of them I thought she was

[00:21:42] gonna be a little too high maintenance I thought he was going to be a little bit too type a Muslim man

[00:21:48] whatever I love bro we are on the same page I just knew I was I in my mind I was like I'm not

[00:21:56] going to like ride I just knew it but the second he started going I said uh oh Lewis and Michelle

[00:22:03] might be in trouble because ride deliver and when Rob gave us a little the wrestling people preview

[00:22:10] I'm gonna ask okay those wrestlers were like oh okay let me see ride turn around oh god okay so then

[00:22:20] as we do every season the credits happen right and so I have to give my prediction on who's

[00:22:25] going to win based on the credits because we were third in the credits and so I always look for who

[00:22:28] I look for who's third in the credits and I look for who finishes fourth on the first light

[00:22:32] because this is why I think these people are going to win third on the credits you're going to like

[00:22:37] this Danny and Angie so maybe mother and son maybe there's some subliminal something in there

[00:22:43] there's probably not and yet now I have to have them like at the top of my picks which I like anyway

[00:22:49] because honestly when you start your life allergic to I don't know air and then you have to be

[00:22:55] homeschooled because you can't walk five feet without having an asthma attack and I'm not making fun

[00:22:59] I'm this is legitimately he's like I was allergic to the walls in my school I couldn't be

[00:23:03] I couldn't go to school and so you know that they have this bond where she's been taking care

[00:23:07] since the gecko but you would never know we had any sort of like medical issues ever like she was

[00:23:13] and there's just something to be said I have I have a friend who was sick as a child and she is

[00:23:18] just so grateful for like everything that happens in life because of the things that she couldn't

[00:23:25] do when she was growing up and so you can just tell that he not only is he such a fan of the race

[00:23:30] but he's just so excited to be out there and like you win stuff and so you can't not root for them

[00:23:37] Danny's like you can but you probably don't have a heart I can breathe I know I love it like yeah

[00:23:45] so I love them and then we meet Ricky and say star who have been dating for four years they've

[00:23:50] been to this exact spot before I know I know like I don't want to say favorite because I shouldn't

[00:23:56] say favorite but honestly for me when they were like practically in first place I said oh my and

[00:24:09] when Ricky was like we're gonna allow Caesar to do all of the the deeds I was like they smart

[00:24:13] they're big like I was like I was getting willing James I'm like I could see them winning

[00:24:19] and I love their communication style and I love their competitiveness so I I also love the fact

[00:24:25] that it was like Ricky was a super fan and then so say stars like now it's our dream I'm not going

[00:24:32] like come on like that is just not only relationship goals but like race partner goals I love the whole

[00:24:39] thing I'm trying to find me a man so that my dream ago on okay listen where you at come run the

[00:24:47] come run the amazing race and win my heart okay okay the team is open the team is open comment

[00:24:54] and below um we have the cousins you talk about how uh Kourishma's parents both passed away

[00:24:59] and they're watching down on them I love their spark they do do a little something a little bit

[00:25:04] later I'm like no dumb dumb dumb dumb but love them and I'm so into like the communication between

[00:25:12] them and the relationship between them where they're more sisters than cousins um and then you know

[00:25:16] they talk to the rest then I talk to Amber and Vinnie who I'm just gonna whatever they're fine

[00:25:22] they I like I mean we don't really get to see much of Amber and Vinnie uh but they are what is it not

[00:25:31] no nestedist nestedist okay now if you if you watch the real housewives and Beverly Hills this is a hot

[00:25:37] topic uh so but yeah I like them I definitely think they are another team that I feel like

[00:25:45] they're in the car it is a push start and so they just haven't figured out that you have to press

[00:25:53] the break with the push push start to get the car started but I do feel like once their car

[00:25:59] is started I think that they'll be a team that we'll have to look out for no I don't believe it

[00:26:07] I don't know I I feel like this season has a group of people who know how to navigate

[00:26:12] and a group of people who would get lost coming out of a paperback so you have like Ricky and say

[00:26:17] Sarah Rod on the t-shirt Derek and Shalisa you've got a Melissa Anthony and Bailey who know where they're

[00:26:24] going but hit several things on the way there then you have the rest of them like well Korshma and

[00:26:31] Kishori were decent at getting where they were going they were just a little bit slower um but

[00:26:35] you have people like honestly like Mary and Chris can't find their way anywhere Amber and Vinnie or

[00:26:41] I don't even know they're not even in Mexico anymore at one point like I don't know where the hell

[00:26:45] they go but they're like looking at a map and they're in a fully different country and then you have

[00:26:50] Rowan Rowan and Maya who God loved them 55 minutes into a 90 minute episode they were still trying

[00:26:57] to turn their car around like I checked the time and I'm not going to say bad things I love them

[00:27:03] and I asked you know why didn't you just back up and I know sometimes people just don't you

[00:27:09] don't think about it you think that you turn around like you don't think to reverse I don't know

[00:27:13] things happen mistakes were made I'm not going to dwell on it I'm just gonna say my heart goes

[00:27:19] out to them because honestly I don't know how many guts like how did they get out like I feel

[00:27:24] like somebody had to help me because we didn't really see him get out though right they just

[00:27:29] were driving but what I loved about them was I loved how Maya was like I can't do it the row

[00:27:34] how I got in the program was like I don't know what I'm doing I like how they just were like

[00:27:38] in and out in and out in and out but I tell you this that ain't my car and it ain't my insurance

[00:27:44] that bumper would have been great up just rip it off give yourself an extra few and I agree

[00:27:52] I would have been on the sidewalk okay this is not my car but listen they got out of it that's

[00:27:57] what it's like employed 500 local people and then like can you help us just lift the car

[00:28:02] like you need to do something because I that had to have taken a very long time but honestly all

[00:28:08] the credit in the world to row it in Maya because despite the fact that it took them so long to get

[00:28:13] where they were going they really didn't go home by very much time they really really did very very

[00:31:01] or pin them down and so pick them up was move to rocking horses large and less large

[00:32:12] had scouted out the area before and you know you know that Ricky because he's such a super fam

[00:32:19] even though there's no way to have ever known this would be was like okay so if the amazing

[00:32:22] race ever comes here here's what they're gonna do like you know he was scouted out.

[00:32:27] The thing that pissed me off though about this was there wasn't a

[00:32:34] too many people couldn't do the memory with the wrestling have enough horses for every team

[00:32:39] who doesn't bother me I like that you don't have enough horses for every team not everyone

[00:32:44] should get to do the same side of the detour then everybody shouldn't be able to do the wrestling

[00:32:49] then I don't think everyone was I think it was seven teams can do each one or something like that.

[00:33:02] And edit out my snort okay so for pickup you have Derek and Shalisa this is where her

[00:33:07] cross were puzzles fall out ridiculous you have Yvonne Melissa Angie and Danny Anthony and Bailey

[00:33:13] Michelle and Sean Amber and Vinnie won and Shane and Mary and Chris all try and do it now we have

[00:33:20] a moment where Mary and Chris are walking up the hill yes go ahead you in the purple pants podcast

[00:33:26] pressure who was the team last season that we gave a hard time to at the drag that wasn't helping people

[00:33:33] Chelsea and Chelsea a Robin I wish Chris and Mary would have just had a slight conversation with

[00:33:42] Chelsea and Robin just a little bit now who would you have ever thought that I would say that but

[00:33:48] I did not ever think that you would ever say that no in that moment with Chris and Mary just because

[00:33:55] my heart is so protective of Chris I was like we need Chelsea and Robbie Robin energy right now

[00:34:01] I mean true I get you want to be helpful to people at the beginning but you're in the back and

[00:34:05] what the hell are you doing like no you let these super buff faster than you military guys like

[00:34:12] hoof it up to the top of that hill and see there are no horses for themselves and then she's like

[00:34:17] do you want to work together and they're like yeah and they part ways in 10 seconds that last 10

[00:34:22] seconds now I do think that Shane and Juan could have been a little bit helpful at the memory

[00:34:31] challenge when they both got there because Mary saved you some time at the horses and you saw

[00:34:37] I don't know if you saw but you would think we knew maybe they didn't know that Rowan and Maya were

[00:34:40] still behind you but like they really helped you out Juan and Shane like maybe return the favor

[00:34:45] like this much or don't help them out don't help them out don't help people out and then on the other

[00:34:51] side for pin him down you have Ricky and say sir you have Rod and Latisha you have Kassori

[00:34:56] encouragement and this is the part where I'm like what are you doing they run up and they're like

[00:35:00] we're not looking we're not looking sorry and I'm like look what are you doing abs it's not on you

[00:35:06] to not look it's on them to cover their work so you should absolutely take every advantage that you

[00:35:09] can get and again I get you want to be nice at the beginning but you know take the advantages

[00:35:16] where you can get them it's my feeling I feel that way is to yeah I'm with that uh I also love how

[00:35:23] like a Kassori in a charisma we're like setting the president like we ain't trying to copy off

[00:35:28] you all right so I kind of like that a little bit but I would have been like I'm not copy

[00:35:31] I'm not looking for you're over there but I also thought Juan and Shane would have been a

[00:35:39] little better directionally because they fly airplanes I just might I was like surprise

[00:35:49] that how far behind uh directionally they were but again I just feel like they are in the cockpit

[00:35:59] and they are just waiting for the planes jet fuel that's what I have to say you're going to put it

[00:36:06] in every episode aren't you okay no that is episode one's mention of cockpit got it but yeah I

[00:36:13] was like Mary what is you doing but again maybe it will come back no I don't believe it because

[00:36:21] it was gonna come back it would have come back here and I don't see now I'm gonna say this I have

[00:36:26] no problem with this but I don't see Juan and Shane be like hey Chris and Mary here let us help you

[00:36:30] that's okay I'm not saying they have to I'm just saying it

[00:36:35] Mary I saw being like oh but but a little bit of help I don't see it going the other way and

[00:36:41] that's fine it doesn't have to I don't think it should have gone the first one well I'm I wasn't

[00:36:45] saying it's gonna come back to them in that way I was saying it might come back to them on a

[00:36:50] detour or a roll block or whatever what's the call where you got to

[00:36:55] you turn you turn I say have any now I almost and I say this with love but I almost somebody gave

[00:37:05] Rohan and Maya a you turn the universe they gave it to themselves man like honestly your car has

[00:37:14] room for I'm not gonna not gonna harm in it moment though I could I could see myself getting a little

[00:37:19] flustered like I don't know what to do but I'm from Philly out so flustered that you actually turn

[00:37:24] the car 180 degrees or so flustered that you go to turn a couple times and you're like wait a second

[00:37:29] I think so flustered that like you just get to the bottom and you realize like oh shoot and then

[00:37:33] your first instinct is to turn the car around what's your second instinct my second instinct is

[00:37:38] to put that bad boy in reverse it right is your second instinct to make this turn turn turn

[00:37:43] turn turn turn turn turn turn turn like 400 times there's your second instinct to back it up

[00:37:47] again love them not I love them I'm not really not saying anything bad I really am just mostly sad

[00:37:54] I don't think they should have found out okay so pick them up obviously it was the harder detour um

[00:37:59] Derek and Shalisa nailed it you you've on him Melissa who by the way so cute they talk about how

[00:38:05] they met three years ago in a group that called was called girl too like girls who like hiking

[00:38:10] I like them I think they're cute and spunky and I want them to do really well and they seem to

[00:38:15] communicate really well you are on the Facebook book so do is there groups that are like boys

[00:38:21] that like boys that like boys that podcast oh I'm gonna find it okay keep me keep me keep me

[00:38:27] keep my mark assignment boys who like boys who like podcasting I'm getting me a man this this season

[00:38:34] okay okay that that is my role block we get okay um and then you have Anthony and Bailey

[00:38:42] and Amber and many who are working together on this and decide they're just gonna take their horses off

[00:38:46] roading and go right down a hill which was hilarious this was the moment we're actually liked Amber

[00:38:51] she's having a really hard time I feel like she's gonna be edited like I was and she's having

[00:38:55] a hard time where she's like ow ow ow and he's like what do you need she goes could you just go away

[00:39:00] and his response was like okay she's so chill that he was like okay I'm gone I'm holding this

[00:39:07] horse for you but I can go that's fine um and then Danny's horse kind of fell over uh and she

[00:39:14] was like you need me to help you because you know mama gotcha I was like oh I love she's in

[00:39:19] I love her she's amazing um and then on the other side on the pinnum down on the pinnum downside um

[00:39:25] Ricky and Cesar and the detour first um by the way their judge hilarious almost as good as

[00:39:34] Kassori and Karrissa mishdash who when they get it the judge like full body convulsors like yes

[00:39:39] I really they do a really good job with the judges like this cute little kid and then these

[00:39:45] luchalibre referees who are just very very animated like so anyway Ricky and Cesar doing

[00:39:51] in four tries they do great Rod and Latisha our second Kassori and Karrissa are third um and

[00:39:58] then on the other side you have Derek and Shalisa Amber and Vinny Anthony and Bailey um Yvonne

[00:40:05] and Melissa Sunny and Busy who get very little airtime right very little airtime but what you do

[00:40:12] get to hear is about how they are three women who are of 16 positions of 1800 people who applied

[00:40:21] for the fire department and that is like hella impressive and they're doing this to show that

[00:40:26] their children what women can do and I'm all about this female impairment and I want them to have

[00:40:31] a whole lot more airtime next week because they did not get enough agree that's how I feel anyway

[00:40:36] and then you have one in Shane who come up and show up at the pinnum down one and fly through it

[00:40:41] honestly they're they're like really really good at tasks because when they get the roadblock

[00:40:48] that was like my little chockley moment because when Shane I want to say does the roadblock

[00:40:54] he jumps over so many people and the way he just jumps through the little hoops is really really cute

[00:40:59] okay but we'll get there and then you have at the end uh Kristen Mary and Rohan and Maya who both

[00:41:04] do the pinnum down one and then everyone is on their way to this rodeo yes question do you think

[00:41:12] do you think any producers helped Rohan and Maya because another thing because I was

[00:41:17] rooting for them and my like my heart was in my ankles uh this whole episode and I was like I hope

[00:41:25] they do not pick the horses because if they were to pick the horses and go all the way like it would have

[00:41:30] just been so over for them. I don't think producers helped them for two reasons one I think they

[00:41:36] were smart enough to know that it said only seven people can do the horses and they were like we

[00:41:40] know we're in the back we're not gonna bother trying but also they both were very very um

[00:41:45] adamant that memory was like their thing because she's a biology major or something um and they're both

[00:41:51] students and they study and their memories are really really good and so I jolt I think that was just

[00:41:55] a lucky rig for them in this situation and so as the day goes everyone ends up going to this um

[00:42:03] horse lasso place um mispronounced it so i'm just gonna say the horse lasso place where they have

[00:42:08] a roadblock which says who's feeling loopy. So you have to jump through a series of seven spinning

[00:42:13] lassoes without knocking off your hat. Now I have a gripe but i'll keep it small. I mean you have

[00:42:19] to know my gripe right? Well i thought your gripe was going to be read the clue uh well but

[00:42:32] I wrote it down so i could show it when the time came no but people were holding their hats the

[00:42:37] whole thing was jolay your hat get knocked off you shouldn't be allowed to hold your hat

[00:42:41] what no because people's heads are different not my problems uh-huh yeah

[00:42:49] so they had a little tight and tight. That is true that is true uh

[00:42:55] that is true but no i think you should be able to hold your hat uh this is when i

[00:43:00] knew that rod might just have to be my Lewis this season because when he was like

[00:43:05] uh i'm six full i could shrink down a little bit but you gotta open that rope up again. I was like

[00:43:10] okay she's all you can shrink down really like you're freaking out. I don't even i'm not even going

[00:43:16] to touch that one bro because mama cam high is watching okay shout out to the cam highs um

[00:43:23] hi mom this is this is when i my already knew i loved cussurean charisma

[00:43:32] but i was mad at charisma but i also was like in that moment i was charisma though

[00:43:41] because cussurean he was like girl read the clue charisma was like girl shut up i got it shut up

[00:43:48] the worst part is cussurean was like give me the clue and she's like no i need it i'm doing the

[00:43:53] robot i need that clue but you heard her read it and she's like put a hat in the hanger and

[00:43:57] she just like glossed over it. She was so the thing is with her some people like

[00:44:02] rawn did rawn did it in five tries sayster did it in four tries the funniest part to me was all

[00:44:09] rawn was all i don't know if the guy other guys are gonna be right behind us because i'm an

[00:44:14] athlete and i don't know if he did it as fast as i did well he did it one faster than you did

[00:44:18] actually sir so Ricky and say star thumbs up like Derek um i i worked it he'd do this in one try

[00:44:27] without out she's cheering for she leaves is cheering for him and she has the mindset to be like he

[00:44:32] doesn't want to hear me talk like she knows which is so funny i actually really love

[00:44:36] her i love their dynamic they're they're gonna be great to watch i uh i was cracking up at first

[00:44:42] by i feel like i'm all i'm talking about is charisma yeah i was like you know uh i think she said

[00:44:47] like she's half mexican or her dad was mexican and she's like i'm a killer i'm a dude in a

[00:44:53] fitness like i just knew when the way that they edited like how she said like

[00:44:59] it's a part of my heritage i'm a killer and then it was like triceps tricelli and then i feel like

[00:45:03] on try 19 19 before she got it and then was not given the clue and she's like what she

[00:45:09] she says like in total broke fashion she was screeching did i do it and they didn't give her anything

[00:45:17] she's like let me read it she's a hanker chip no she has to ask she had to ask uh

[00:45:22] cuz shory for the clue back and she's like just throw it but i was cracking up at charisma and like

[00:45:26] try 10 when she didn't even try to jump in she just was dancing she's just like this i was like okay

[00:45:32] see i love their energy same same 100% of lulu alala right i just like so

[00:45:39] i also like the fact that when they found where they were going to the rodeo they were like

[00:45:43] that's the right street make it that like i just there they're they're very joyous to watch like

[00:45:49] they could have gotten the other way for me but like i really really enjoyed them

[00:45:53] but i also like the fact that she didn't get it after 19 tries and then she puts on her little

[00:45:57] curtchip and then she has to start over and she gets on like the 23rd try but even with 23 tries

[00:46:05] they're still in fifth place like they were doing so well that they had so much of a cushion

[00:46:10] that they're still in fifth now you have one in shame who come in there and shame does it in

[00:46:15] two tries which is how they end up in fourth but the way she's jumping is like it almost looked

[00:46:20] a little bit like super mario cartoon where his like little hurdle jumps through the feet

[00:46:24] at a great job i was really really impressed with him i watched a lot of them uh over and it seemed

[00:46:30] like you have to it's almost like your feet have to go in front of your body like you have to like

[00:46:35] lift your feet up and go over uh i know a little out of order but um what's the uh

[00:46:40] i don't know if it's barely or Anthony they smoke that that's what i'm trying

[00:46:46] that's what i'm saying as soon as that the car is uh it's on now so it's like they're going to

[00:46:52] yeah i'm loving them i mean i feel like when they're told what to do they do it well but if they

[00:46:57] don't have a direction where it's like they're just given a scene in front of them they're like

[00:47:02] whoa climb this where's the cluba's like where is it and it's right there like they had their blinders

[00:47:09] which is okay i think it may just take a little time i do think they're going to end up doing well

[00:47:14] i don't i don't think they're as surfer dude didsy as they may appear i think that they have a whole

[00:47:21] lot more going on up here than meets the eye and so i think they're gonna do really well and so

[00:47:26] well it meets the eye is fun enough so you know we are here for the surfer kings what's better than one

[00:47:34] two and then so you have um khorishma and kashore who finally got out there after 23 tries

[00:47:43] but they got like 14 tries for anyone else even showed up so you knew they were doing really

[00:47:47] really well with their navigation and then you have ivanimalissa it takes you on like eight

[00:47:52] tries but she like nobody's spirit really drops everyone seems to just like

[00:47:58] like go through it without getting frustrated which i don't totally understand like that's just

[00:48:03] now my mentality but i should work on that and then you have danny tanny blesses heart he's scared of

[00:48:12] horses because why not i mean he was taken to a pony show as a kid and fell off a horse

[00:48:18] he shouldn't gone out towards like he was probably allergic to the horse but he was so

[00:48:23] you could tell when he was walking into the arena and there was a horse right there and he's

[00:48:26] like oh look at the horse he's like i'm like totally round the other way like he was he's

[00:48:33] very cute to watch sometimes super fans can be a little bit much but i actually really really really

[00:48:39] really enjoy them and enjoy him specifically so and he did he did really well i mean he did

[00:48:45] it took him like ten tries to do it but again spirit stayed up pretty quick and then he's like

[00:48:51] thank you ma'am and like walked out like just very calm and whatever um and then you have

[00:48:56] shot him a shell show up and he's all i do double dash i'm gonna do great and then he's not doing

[00:49:01] great but again he's like i clicked myself into instructor mode and i was ready to go the cute

[00:49:08] thing about them here is where this is the first time they're without their kids and so this is

[00:49:13] about them and they're just the love that they have for each other is so adorable where he's

[00:49:19] like who's looking for a cowboy and she's like i am like they're just really very like heartwarming

[00:49:25] so i hope they do very well too i hope everyone does well how's that pop up almost how's that

[00:49:29] possible right it's gonna be a hard season for us uh they the double duchers reminded me of like

[00:49:35] ashley and Todd a little bit but i also could see ashley and Todd and Ron and leticia but um you know

[00:49:40] i see everybody ashley and Todd cuz we had a little bit in Derek and chelisa because i remember

[00:49:45] when they were doing the thing with the canoe or whatever and she's like where are the chains and

[00:49:50] he's like two chains and she's like shut up when he's like he's like i'm just having fun

[00:49:55] she's like this is not the time to time i saw that a little bit there and it made me smile and laugh

[00:50:00] because we love Todd and ashley so high-todd and ashley um and then sonny did it in two tries some you

[00:50:05] feel like people either did this right away or it took them you know a charisma level number of tries

[00:50:11] but one or the other and then you have um amber and viny show up and viny does this i think on the

[00:50:17] first try i mean again put them at a task they're doing well put them in a car they're in belivia

[00:50:23] and then you have chris and marie show up and she stays so positive i can get through my mother's

[00:50:28] death i can get you anything i mean yeah i guess it's very very true but they don't seem to be

[00:50:36] particularly hurried which is a little concerning for me because stop giving people in the back

[00:50:42] answers and maybe put a little hop in your step like don't tell your dad it's okay to go slowly

[00:50:46] because it's not and then rowing in my show up and they're only minutes behind like i i think he

[00:50:52] did this on the first try also which is wrong with killing it and he's like we're only 10 minutes

[00:50:57] behind if somebody else stops for directions we are golden and then you see chris and marie stop

[00:51:02] for directions because editing and we know what you're trying to do here we're not gonna fall for it

[00:51:07] so then everyone has to go to the pit stop um where fill has all of these clues in his back pocket

[00:51:13] now the other thing is when rowing in my show up he still has a clue with his back pocket and i'm thinking

[00:51:18] maybe maybe there's a chance that we call him mega leg and they get to keep going but

[00:51:25] so at the pit stop you have ron latisha no prize and she's all where's my prize

[00:51:33] and he's all i don't have one here's your envelope and so um yeah then they have to keep racing

[00:51:39] Ricky and say sarah coming second i love them uh Derek and shelisa come in third

[00:51:45] and so the funny thing is you can tell if they've seen a lot of episodes of the show because

[00:51:49] when Phil says to them your team uh you're the third team to arrive rather than your team number three

[00:51:54] they're like okay great and he goes however and she's like you can see that like just the one

[00:51:59] drain from their face because they're like what would you wrong what would you wrong what's our

[00:52:03] penalty but he's like however you're still racing and they're like okay okay um and then one

[00:52:07] and she jumped to four uh now i we can't be so so nice well one we love one and she ain't

[00:52:15] they're a little dramatic so nice okay uh so i worry that i feel like they might be the team

[00:52:23] this season that when a lot of groups are together and everyone stressing and they get it

[00:52:28] they're going to be like no okay you know sometimes we all love that right

[00:52:35] uh because i was like you kissing a gram but guess what you you still racing you got to go

[00:52:40] that's true however they came in fourth on the first leg which is where we came in so now i'm thinking

[00:52:46] maybe they're gonna win the whole thing there's no reason for me to think that

[00:52:49] but these are things that i look for and think about but yes they did like kiss the ground it

[00:52:53] did it was a little much that being said they're used to being in the air so you know

[00:52:57] i kissed the ground after i skydived i got to the ground and i kissed i was dramatic i was overly

[00:53:04] dramatic and i'm on the video being like did you love it and i was like sure would you

[00:53:08] hurt you again it's like no okay so anyway then you have michelle and shawan you bottom

[00:53:14] elisa angi and danie anthony and baili sunny and busy and then cussure and charisma honestly

[00:53:21] like i thought they would have been higher up here and they would have been had she put on her

[00:53:24] kerchiefs so remember in the future read your clue and then you have amber and viny oh no you don't

[00:53:35] amber and viny they cut to in a car and their god knows somewhere else i don't i don't know how

[00:53:41] they're gonna do i don't like wait we gotta make this you turn then we'll be right on track

[00:53:46] yeah but also like how far are you gonna go before you you turn like just cut over the ground

[00:53:50] i would break every traffic rule what ask her forgiveness not permission just go do it what are

[00:53:55] they gonna do once you've done it maybe they give you a penalty but at this point you're at back

[00:54:00] but okay so then marion chris show up and amber and viny shawan at the exact same moment so it does

[00:54:05] they're not actually as far away as the production would allow us to believe and finally you have

[00:54:11] roon and maya who show up and they are just so sweet like there's no hard feelings if they thank

[00:54:17] Phil and they walk off hand in hand best friend like i'm legitimately tearing up you texted me why am

[00:54:24] I crying i love to throw hand this this is one where first teams to go home usually i'm not that

[00:54:31] upset this is one where i feel like this one hurt because i feel like they would they i bet they

[00:54:37] had so much institutional knowledge of the race that they just didn't get to use uh yeah because

[00:54:43] i honestly um they had that one bluster in the car and you can see it's kind of like they lost

[00:54:50] themselves but at every one of the challenges they clocked in like and that's the thing i was

[00:54:57] like so out so frustrating because it's like uh i wish we could see more of them i i absolutely

[00:55:03] loved them i got the opportunity to meet rohan uh not that long ago and he was so nice

[00:55:08] you knew about the pit stop uh i called brook i was like oh my god you guys say how to brook him

[00:55:13] and classic brook she was doing something but tried to like hey i'm like well not my way to the

[00:55:17] airport i couldn't hear you i know but brook couldn't hear us but she could tell you the conversation

[00:55:22] i'm not girl and then i messaged him on the side too because i have also gotten to meet him at this

[00:55:27] point he's so lovely oh right i just feel like you know how they not made that one mistake they'd

[00:55:33] still be in it oh a thousand firsts and i just maybe maybe i've never once advocated for a season

[00:55:40] of bringing back first ones out but this is one where i would be like bring them back they they

[00:55:45] have knowledge to use and that was just one little mistake unfinished business rohan and i

[00:55:50] bring it back i would love to see it and it also just makes me think knowing the season that came

[00:55:54] after them but really came before the people to go home first were siblings as well uh shelled in

[00:56:01] oh uh uh it's not sheldon and you know when i met her and

[00:56:10] Alexandra and Sheridan they were great but yeah rohan and mya were different where they could

[00:56:15] make decisions like they like i just like oh i was rooting for my brother made the wrong decision

[00:56:19] but one wrong decision can cost you the race and that's unfortunate i don't think you should bring

[00:56:23] back first boots but i do think you should bring back this first because i think that they
