[00:06:02] I finished Survivor

[00:06:03] I came back

[00:06:04] And I had a year left

[00:06:05] Of grad school

[00:06:06] And, you know

[00:06:06] The first quarter back

[00:06:08] It was like

[00:06:09] When the season was airing

[00:06:11] So like

[00:06:11] Obviously

[00:06:12] Like I was only

[00:06:13] Like paying like

[00:06:14] 50% attention to school

[00:06:15] Because I had all these

[00:06:16] Other crazy things happening

[00:06:17] And then the season

[00:06:18] Just ended

[00:06:19] And it's like

[00:06:19] Oh my gosh

[00:06:20] I have to like

[00:06:20] Get ready

[00:06:21] To get a job again

[00:06:22] I have to do

[00:06:23] All these regular things

[00:06:24] Again

[00:06:25] 46 came out

[00:06:26] Doing all those podcasts

[00:06:27] Getting really involved

[00:06:28] With all that

[00:06:29] So it was like

[00:06:29] Busy, busy, busy

[00:06:30] Then all of a sudden

[00:06:31] I graduated

[00:06:31] June 1st

[00:06:32] And this summer

[00:06:33] Has been

[00:06:34] Has been really crazy

[00:06:35] So like

[00:06:35] You know

[00:06:36] After I graduated

[00:06:37] I had like

[00:06:37] Four days to unpack

[00:06:39] Or like to pack

[00:06:39] My entire apartment

[00:06:41] Fly everything back

[00:06:42] To California

[00:06:44] But it's been awesome

[00:06:45] You know

[00:06:45] I've been on a couple trips

[00:06:46] It's my last summer break

[00:06:48] Really

[00:06:48] You know

[00:06:49] I graduated undergrad

[00:06:50] And I worked for a while

[00:06:52] Went back to grad school

[00:06:52] Last summer break now

[00:06:55] So

[00:06:55] You know

[00:06:56] I went to

[00:06:57] Southeast Asia

[00:06:57] With my girlfriend

[00:06:58] We came back

[00:07:00] And I've been like

[00:07:01] Applying for jobs

[00:07:02] I went to Vegas

[00:07:03] Saw Jalinski

[00:07:04] Went to LA

[00:07:05] Like I've been

[00:07:05] Trying to live it up

[00:07:06] As much as possible

[00:07:07] Because I know

[00:07:08] The clock's ticking

[00:07:09] Pretty soon

[00:07:10] I'm going back

[00:07:11] To that work run

[00:07:11] So

[00:07:12] Just trying to have

[00:07:13] As good of a time

[00:07:13] As possible before then

[00:07:57] 80% of everything

[00:07:58] So I was just

[00:08:01] Like things were breaking

[00:08:09] For the advantages

[00:08:57] But then I remember

[00:08:58] When season 29 came

[00:08:59] There was like

[00:09:03] It's over

[00:09:04] Did you feel that at all

[00:09:06] I didn't

[00:09:07] A little bit

[00:09:09] But honestly

[00:09:10] I was like

[00:09:11] To be on this end again

[00:09:12] I mean like

[00:09:13] I remember

[00:09:14] Not knowing

[00:09:15] Like thinking

[00:09:16] Like I don't know

[00:09:16] How I'm going to feel

[00:09:17] When 46 starts

[00:09:18] But like

[00:09:19] I think it was

[00:09:20] A more positive experience

[00:09:21] Than I was expecting

[00:09:22] I was like

[00:09:23] There's a chance

[00:09:23] I'm going to watch this

[00:09:24] And be like

[00:09:24] I can't do this

[00:09:25] And I won't be able

[00:09:26] To make it through the season

[00:09:27] Or like whatever

[00:09:28] But like

[00:09:28] For the most part

[00:09:29] I was just

[00:09:29] I really enjoyed

[00:09:31] Being on

[00:09:32] This side as a fan

[00:27:38] this via tech we're sitting at the dinner table all right you know we're just eating dinner we're

[00:27:44] about to go clean up and i'm like all right mom you ready to see it and i pull it up i show it to

[00:27:50] her she just sits with it it's like wow and goes through every emotion eventually pretty quickly

[00:27:56] she's on board you know she's been so involved and happy and enjoying being in the survivor community

[00:28:03] so like any of it's awful she's loved tweeting and like you know every time she gets a follower

[00:28:08] she tells me whenever she her post gets like more than 20 likes she tells me and stuff and she's so

[00:28:13] excited about it so like eventually she she went around and was like okay this is pretty funny like

[00:28:18] you're not really you're not doing anything bad it's just a photo that i don't really need to see a lot

[00:28:23] but like you know it's funny it's all for fun you know you're you're supporting bryce who obviously

[00:28:28] she loves you so she's like i like totally like she's happy with it now but yeah it's a it's just

[00:28:34] kind of funny you know i think now i feel more awkward when we talk about it she's down to talk about

[00:28:39] she's always bringing up like oh my god awesome did you see your your daddy picture was posted on

[00:28:43] reddit in these comments like mom just stop i don't want to i don't want to talk about this with

[00:28:48] you but yeah so she's she's into it this is why i love mama eva first of all she's my mother-in-law

[00:28:55] in my head and i don't care what nobody say okay that's my mother-in-law but it was so funny because

[00:29:00] i uh i posted it sometimes like i don't know do you ever you probably don't but sometimes when i post

[00:29:07] stuff online like i get anxiety like i'm like oh i don't know like so are you kidding me of course

[00:29:12] i do i will put my phone on do not disturb and then i'll go like do something for two hours

[00:29:17] yeah and so that's what i did when i dropped the zeddy calendar but i didn't like uh yeah i was just

[00:29:24] like i i get so nervous it's literally i tell people it is a labor of love right yeah because it is

[00:29:30] months and months and months of chasing people down uh and you can attest because i'd be like

[00:29:37] austin what's up with the photo you're like brice give me two more weeks so it's like just imagine

[00:29:43] that with q right imagine that with like ben so it's literally a labor of love and so i'm always

[00:29:51] i hope that it's received well and so like i just get nervous so i put my phone on like do not

[00:29:56] disturb or i just turn all of my instagram notifications off but i forgot to turn my

[00:30:00] facebook notifications off so i get my phone and the first notification i see is from eva

[00:30:09] talk about should i be embarrassed question mark at least he's the cover i'm like

[00:30:19] but then all the comments were great and uh so then you know i logged back on and i was like oh

[00:30:24] then i was surprised that you even posted the photo to your instagram and i appreciate that so much

[00:30:30] because you know it's uh it's an honor uh and let's talk it's my honor and let me tell you i also

[00:30:38] get really anxious before posting anything on social media and like i've only recently done the

[00:30:43] thing where i'll post it then i'll put away my phone for like an hour or something before it'd be like

[00:30:47] i post and like that meant that i was glued to my phone for the next hour just seeing what's

[00:30:52] happening like seeing oh is this an okay post like are people upset or like what are people saying

[00:30:56] kind of thing now it's sort of like okay posting it i just need to like separate especially for

[00:31:01] something like this was like i've never posted something like this you know i i posted a couple

[00:31:05] like quasi thirst traps back you know back when the season was airing and stuff but now it's like

[00:31:10] i i have this is this is unusual for me so i posted it i left it for a while and you know

[00:31:16] oh god when i came back some of those i had to do some comment moderation i felt like you put me as a

[00:31:24] mod because i was monitoring the comments now let's talk about these well first of all before we get to

[00:31:31] that right i do want to ask you what is it like you being a young but mature handsome yet good looking

[00:31:43] straight man uh that has a lot of i want to say like the lgbtq plus community but let's just call

[00:31:51] a thing a thing you have a lot of gay men that love you austin right like you know if picasso could

[00:31:58] put together something if you know we said picasso wake up you're not dead no more we need a athletic

[00:32:04] and tall we need long but short hands we want soft but hard hands like he would create you and oh my god

[00:32:13] love you like how do you receive that you know what i mean i i love it obviously like i'm totally fine

[00:32:22] it's it's something that i never one thought that this would be my life that i'd be receiving that kind

[00:32:28] of attention so that's been really cool and secondly like you know i have a girlfriend so it's

[00:32:32] like i'm not looking for anything so whether it's a girl who's commenting that or a guy it's the same

[00:32:37] thing to me it's someone who's like complimenting me saying nice things about me like what's there to

[00:32:41] be upset about like it's awesome like i i once again like it's something that i really never was used to

[00:32:46] like much before survivor is no never something that i was expecting to have like this positive reaction

[00:32:51] from people like i'm honored like the fact that you're willing to spend time typing this like nice

[00:32:56] message to me even you know sometimes they're they're they're a little more than nice but like for the

[00:33:01] most part you know nice messages sending to me like it's like that's cool like thank you so much you

[00:33:05] know we love that spoken so eloquently so near from a zaddy but i do want to talk about some of the

[00:33:13] comments that you got on your post now i had text austin yesterday i said also we're going to talk about

[00:33:19] comments austin was like thanks for the heads up now when i got up this morning i there was one

[00:33:25] particular comment that i wanted to get and it happened to be gone and i felt like austin uh

[00:33:33] he uh grabbed it from the internet but just know it probably was the nastiest sloppiest comment you

[00:33:42] can ever think about oh my god emphasis on the sloppiest

[00:33:48] i screamed and then of course brandon donnellan is like

[00:33:53] if you're reading this don't read any further save yourself okay and of course your mom wrote back

[00:34:02] it's too late uh then we had something from uh andrew curtis saying i hear something purring

[00:34:13] i didn't see that okay i've probably seen maybe half the comments i mean they're they were they

[00:34:17] were hard i mean like they were awesome but they were also like okay i need to i need to calm down

[00:34:23] um that's so funny i didn't see that one oh and knight saying for a second i thought you were giving

[00:34:30] miss eva photo that one i saw that was awesome because at the end of my couch like sorry at evilly coon

[00:34:39] right like that was so funny like imagine if if that happened that would now you know owen giving

[00:36:02] on on youtube made the uh like best of austin lee coon on survivor 45 made like a 30 minute video and he

[00:36:08] was like wow like thank you like that's so cool see like they're so nice like this is the best they love

[00:39:10] uh one of the first times i met you guys i think was at like the rhap event in new york when your

[00:39:17] season had just aired uh and oh yeah it was in september and you know uh on the east coast

[00:39:24] sometimes in september it's still warm and i think maybe that day was like 75 80 degrees when i met sifu

[00:39:30] he had on that cheetah felice yeah i was like i know you were hot he was like it's the look brother

[00:39:39] i was like much respect to you sifu he lost 30 pounds on survivor um you know and he was there

[00:39:47] half the time he was he lost 30 pounds and like he would wear every single day in the blue like the

[00:39:53] blazing fujian sun like a full long sleeve long pants pure black like not even thin cloth but it was like

[00:40:01] his tai chi garb and he would wear it through everything sweating non-stop like he just like loves

[00:40:08] pain i think like it's just like like when he's hurting he's like i'm becoming stronger like i believe

[00:40:13] that that's what he thinks i love it because i feel like anything for the look you know so if you

[00:40:18] got to be hot you got to squeeze into something uh if it achieves the look i'm not mad at it uh and

[00:40:25] before we close out this podcast i feel like uh today or yesterday i had posted on my instagram

[00:40:30] a passing of the torch where we had joseph uh you know say his final words even though we still got a

[00:40:37] couple more months in 2024 but he said his final words uh and he kind of passed the torch to you as

[00:40:43] the new current uh zaddy cover of the bryce isaiah 2025 zaddy calendar which sounds pretty crazy to hear you

[00:41:21] like i never thought i would get any sort of attention like this and to just have this just spring

[00:41:27] out of nowhere the past year year and a half has been absolutely crazy like you know i mean growing

[00:41:32] up i definitely did not have a lot of confidence in a bunch of different things and you know including

[00:41:37] how i looked and all that stuff so this has just been like so so awesome and like it's been building

[00:41:42] myself up every single day since like you know first applying to survivor going through that process

[00:41:47] being on the show watching everything afterwards reading all these comments listen to your podcast

[00:41:51] it's been like truly i think like transformative and i think my life has been become so much better

[00:41:57] and i felt so much better about myself the past year and a half or so so it's like it's been awesome

[00:42:02] and to like have this here it's like wow like this is so cool you know like i'm truly so honored to be

[00:42:07] spoken in the same breath as the other people not just who were covers of this calendar but like who

[00:42:13] were just like in every single month of the calendars because there are some zaddies like there are some

[00:42:18] zaddies on these calendars so it's like wow like it is it's truly an honor like i i love it and it's

[00:42:24] just it's awesome it's just like what that what what the heck happened to my life like i feel like i just

[00:42:29] like stumbled upon like this like big pot of gold and and it's just been like amazing you know so i've

[00:42:36] been so happy with it well it's truly an honor to have you as the cover of the zaddy calendar but it's

[00:42:43] even more honored to have you as a friend knowing that i could call you i could text you uh we
