[00:03:33] the podcast this week the one that the only you may know her from spending some music in your

[00:03:39] ears you might have being used to seeing her on your TV for a hundred days I have the contestant

[00:03:45] from Big Brother season 25 DJ Bowie Jane welcome to the podcast oh good I how's it going thanks

[00:03:52] for that nice intro yeah thank you so much how I mean I have so many questions that I I want

[00:03:58] to ask you because I feel like we got to see you on Big Brother but I also feel like you know

[00:04:03] we don't really know what Bowie Jane right yeah it's um what one how are you doing how is your new year

[00:04:11] oh it's fantastic it's like it is really strange being out of the house but like it all feels like a

[00:04:16] big of a distant dream now so it is crazy like that but um yeah it's been great because it's just been

[00:04:22] event after event it's like we certainly hit the ground running with no jury house in between so

[00:04:29] definitely I saw for New Year's you Jag and Matt hosted a party I was like would it look

[00:04:34] like something I'm like I wish I was in the area I would have loved to been there what was your

[00:04:39] knowledge of Big Brother prior to you going into the Big Brother house so obviously I'd watch

[00:04:45] the Australian Big Brother which is really different um I was a big fan of the Australian Big Brother

[00:04:50] actually but it's very much um it's a lot more I guess friendly social the audience votes um

[00:04:58] so it's a bit a bit more of a fan favorite kind of situation there aren't the sort of alliances

[00:05:03] the comps all of that kind of stuff but knowing um I wanted to go on American Big Brother having

[00:05:09] seen it here I was like right let's make sure we really understand what we're getting ourselves into

[00:05:15] so I crammed big time um and I loved it from the very first I mean I wanted to go on the show

[00:05:22] because I love the American one but when I started watching a lot of seasons I was like wow this

[00:05:26] so well done so well produced it's clever you have to be crafty and um I worked out my strategy by

[00:05:35] watching a lot of those series and then also listening to breakdown podcasts of interviews with

[00:05:42] other contestants and them talking about things they did wrong in the show and so yeah I really

[00:05:47] studied it and I went in with a plan stuck to the plan and I guess it worked to some extent

[00:05:54] well listen you made it very far in the game um so we know Jag is the winner but you know I was

[00:06:00] most of either I went out very early so you know in my opinion you you did the thing you

[00:06:06] went very far what was your strategy like going into the game what were you like how did you

[00:06:13] think that you were going to be or what were you going into the house thinking like

[00:06:18] so my strategy and I took my friend before I went in I was like I'm going in so I'm not gonna

[00:06:22] see for a bit and she's like watch the strategy and I texted my strategy and when I got out she

[00:06:27] said oh my god you stuck to that to a T now that strategy was to not ruffle any feathers which

[00:06:34] I'm not that kind of person anyway but to make sure I don't put anyone off with anything annoying

[00:06:39] because the smallest thing at the start of the game will send you home make sure I choose a bedroom

[00:06:44] with people I thought would be good to build in the lights with so I followed Surrey into that

[00:06:49] bedroom or we walked in together I can't remember the exact order and I thought if I'm in a room

[00:06:54] with her it's most likely I'll be in an alliance with her because the bedroom is aware alliances forms

[00:06:59] so um that was a strategy and then it was like let's try and get in the big alliance assuming there's

[00:07:05] going to be two right assuming that we two big alliances with breakdowns within each alliance

[00:07:12] and be a reliable a loyal voter so that people knew they could trust me

[00:07:17] and not so basically paid the happy go lucky I'm very relaxed I'm not a threat I will do what you say

[00:07:24] which is not true but I will do what you say and I won't win I'm not a threat like I'm not

[00:07:29] winning comes look at me I'm not very good at comes um so make sure I didn't win any comps for

[00:07:34] like I threw every single comp for like seven weeks not necessarily would have won them all but

[00:07:39] you know I made sure I also didn't want to be picked for Vida I know Surrey and I were doing

[00:07:42] the same strategy there so you her and I didn't play many Vida's at all because of that we were

[00:07:47] trying to avoid being picked because we didn't want to show our skillsets so yeah that I think

[00:07:53] it really helped and then once I was sure that I had a bit of a team around me being like Cory

[00:07:58] America Jag Matt once I got to that point I went okay I can win comps now and I think they'll have

[00:08:04] my back the next week otherwise you're probably going home what was your knowledge of Surrey right

[00:08:10] again I come from the survivor realm Surrey is practically a god right like she knows how to play

[00:08:17] the game and as a viewer it's like we're all like oh my god like Surrey's in this game like what was

[00:08:24] your knowledge of her and I know a lot of people we well we know Cory knew who she was but like what

[00:08:30] was your knowledge of Surrey uh and were people talking about the level of gameplay that she has or

[00:08:36] was she just kind of like oh a regular person in the house to you well it was interesting I didn't

[00:08:41] know who she was but within about three seconds someone said oh my god she's from survivor and

[00:08:46] she's played like so many seasons and we I didn't know about the trade-as-sing until about halfway

[00:08:51] through the season Cory told me then so I knew she'd won it so we were we were already wary of

[00:08:56] being a good player um and so I just thought people were saying oh she's she'll be a good player

[00:09:03] and I thought well she'll know definitely any intricate strategies I want to work with her

[00:09:08] and she kept saying to me I everyone I've worked with in my in survivor got through to the end

[00:09:16] everyone I was in the lights with so and I believed her because I had nothing else to go of

[00:09:20] and I thought she kept saying she's a loyal uh person which I do believe she is and um so then

[00:09:27] I thought well I can work with her right to the end so for me I was going to be on her side rather

[00:09:31] than be worried about it we see that uh early on like you're betrayed by Felicia and Subri how

[00:09:39] did that impact your game yeah I mean it was great actually believe it or not at the time I was

[00:09:45] devastated and then I was like dude don't be upset because I kept saying myself you're upset for

[00:09:51] too long you're gonna get kicked out seriously you need to just pretend you're cool so the next day

[00:09:56] I was like oh that was old news I'm good today but in my head I was like right I need to find people

[00:10:02] I can trust because something went wrong there and I just can't trust them now so I thought I

[00:10:07] were gonna I really did want to work with Jag quite early on but I was in the other alliance so

[00:10:11] well one of the other alliances um so I thought it was just the other alliance uh yeah so I thought

[00:10:17] I want to work with Jag I did want to work with Cory but he was working quite closely with other

[00:10:21] people so I wasn't sure what was happening there so for me it was a great moment because it made me go

[00:10:26] oh I don't give a shit anymore about this game I'm just gonna freaking play for me I'm not

[00:10:31] gonna be trying to make friends in here and I am gonna play a loyal game to people love to me but

[00:10:36] the moment I'm burnt you're at so talking about these alliances right like did you know how many

[00:10:44] alliances were going on at once and how they were morphing into one alliance then it's the whole

[00:10:50] alliance then it seemed like the whole house was against everyone did you snow all of that or

[00:10:56] did it just seem like they were really just kind of like two core alliances because of your standpoint

[00:11:02] I would tune in on a Wednesday and be like what did happen then I'm watching the live fees and I'm

[00:11:08] like well it's just the real alliance like I'm like girl what is going on like how were you

[00:11:15] navigating that so I did think there were just two alliances and a couple of people in the middle

[00:11:22] so I really do think I was in one of the bigger alliances I think I was in one of the bigger

[00:11:26] alliances but the problem was obviously Jared, Seary, Felicia and I think Mimi maybe am I missing

[00:11:34] so I'm easy well in all the alliances so yes they were two alliances but they were in all the

[00:11:39] alliances so I didn't know that they were in all the alliances but I did sniff something was going

[00:11:46] wrong because I would walk into a room and they would conversations would stop and I'd say to easy

[00:11:52] mate like I said Seary why are conversations something like I mean I was suspicious at that point

[00:11:59] I was starting to get a little bit paranoid and I was like don't get paranoid this is classic

[00:12:03] this how you get voted off do not get paranoid but yeah I mean look I was right I could sense it

[00:12:08] but I didn't know what was going on until obviously that wonderful have not room fight we Jared

[00:12:15] and Corey that was so cool what was that like being in that room with Jared and Corey that day

[00:12:25] because like again as a viewer so also shout out to all the six-hung people covering Big Brother

[00:12:31] right because you know I have a full-time job so it was hard for me to keep up but being as though

[00:12:36] that I had like such a personal relationship with Seary and Jared I was like I have to try to stay

[00:12:40] up and so there were so many people covering like the season on TikTok so I was like well great I

[00:12:47] could just kind of watch TikTok and they'll keep me updated but I remember being at work and I

[00:12:52] remember I was like let me take a little break this girl up and I was like wait Corey and like

[00:12:57] and when I kept seeing more of the clips and I just kept hearing Jared being like bro

[00:13:03] bro and they Corey I was like oh my god what was that like for you in there it was insane because

[00:13:09] I didn't know why I was in the room Jared brought me up and I was like halfway through shaving my

[00:13:14] head side one side shaving out the other side and I was like why am I being brought into this room

[00:13:19] but I will go out there and then it's all exploding and I'm like in my head I'm like this

[00:13:25] oh okay taking notes he like obviously I wasn't showing that but in my head I was like this is

[00:13:31] excellent because everything's being exposed right in front of us and it was really valuable that

[00:13:36] was a real turning point in the game for sure um it was yeah I obviously I found out everything

[00:13:43] that day in Jag and I obviously found out stuff that we didn't know and it just meant we all formed so

[00:13:49] yeah it was very very interesting and wild and then we're like oh shit we've got plenty of

[00:13:55] fiction I think it was a this I can't remember um yeah it was crazy how did you pack for

[00:14:04] big brother right because first of all we see your style like we love like you know I did a

[00:14:08] little re-sauve like okay Bowie Jay always been a little fashion icon so were you thinking like hey

[00:14:16] I am going to like I got these iconic pieces I'm gonna bring or was it like let me just bring

[00:14:23] some pieces and I'll make it work like what were you thinking going into the house yeah obviously

[00:14:27] so limited what you can bring so um you I had stuff spewing out of my suitcase and I lived down

[00:14:34] the road from Big Brother so um I I didn't have a weight issue like everyone else did on the plane

[00:14:39] but yeah I had stuff hanging out in my bag it was ridiculous but what I thought was uh just have

[00:14:44] things that go together I do wear a lot of black and I thought I mean you're not really

[00:14:49] meant to wear black in there but I had like black jacket and you know the black overalls and

[00:14:54] that puffy jacket I brought that into the house because of the season before where they'd done

[00:15:00] the sleeping in the backyard thing and I thought what would be a good jacket that would feel

[00:15:05] like a sleeping bag because I bet they're not going to give you a sleeping bag not really and

[00:15:08] I also had heard the house is cold so because I was reading every reddit thing like I did so much study

[00:15:13] for as you can imagine and yes I that puffy jacket was the best thing I ever brought in um the

[00:15:19] bucket hat was the best thing I brought in as well but yeah it's hard you have to get things

[00:15:24] at mix and mash but you can't like I couldn't bring this in and I tried I guess it's green screen green

[00:15:29] but listen it still works though yeah but anything with the logo obviously is an issue um I tell you

[00:15:37] what if I would I would change what I brought in next time like really they tell you to bring a

[00:15:42] load of comfortable things and you think oh no I'm gonna dress up no you're not you're not going

[00:15:46] to dress up right like most of the time it's kind of like you chilling when do you feel like when

[00:15:51] you were in the house that or if you ever that you let your guard down and kind of just kind of

[00:15:57] like just submitted to the fact that their cameras everywhere and you know this is just what it is

[00:16:03] like I remember being on survivor and I remember the first couple of days like every time the camera

[00:16:09] crew would be in my face I'll be like hey hello what are what are we going to do like do you

[00:16:14] remember a moment when you kind of just like we're like okay this is it I'm just I got to show up

[00:16:19] as myself well I think the first two weeks was so incredibly hectic that I felt like I wasn't even

[00:16:26] thinking about the cameras too much but um you also I tell you when you do notice when you're in

[00:16:31] the bathroom in the restroom whatever and you're getting changed and you're like oh well I just

[00:16:38] I don't care if I mean not nude but like I had underwear on but I was like whatever the world sees me

[00:16:43] my undies who cares like I think it's those moments and it's probably about the might be the four

[00:16:48] week mark or something I know you feel comfortable pretty quick though like you just don't care

[00:16:54] and also you think the producers are behind the cameras you know the audience is watching but you

[00:16:58] don't know how well the show is doing so you think maybe no one's watching anyway and then we're

[00:17:03] I produce is we need this in the kitchen no one responds of course but you uh what would you say

[00:17:10] to yourself right like after you coming out of the game it what would you say if you could like

[00:17:17] time warp back to the first day like and you could just meet yourself real quick and you'd be like hey

[00:17:22] these are three tips I want to tell you before you go into the house what would those three tips be

[00:17:26] yeah I don't think I would listen to me if I told myself this but it'd be more if I went on

[00:17:30] the show again because I was like I think my strategy did work but if I was to go on again I would

[00:17:36] play a very similar game but not take like really really not take anything personally and not

[00:17:42] think you're gonna form proper friendships in there like I really that was part of it for me and

[00:17:48] I enjoyed it and I have my good friends in there but it's a game and the outside world is very

[00:17:52] different everyone's back in their worlds now you know no one lives in LA so um it's very different

[00:17:58] and I just think I would be not taking things personally and maybe that would mean I wouldn't have

[00:18:03] got upset with that blind side it would have been like whatever but otherwise I don't know I think

[00:18:08] I played the way I wanted to play I love that so after you're getting out of the house um

[00:18:15] again I keep bringing up survivor and big brother right because I feel like survivor fans are

[00:18:19] very different um big brother fans whole different level right like they I mean these these accounts

[00:18:28] the trolls like I feel like they were coming for you at times right like how did you personally

[00:18:34] navigate that because one I feel like it's easy when you're on the opposite side of it to be like

[00:18:39] don't read it don't listen to it and just move on but when they're actually talking about

[00:18:45] you using your name like you know it's like you kind of you everyone looks and like you know

[00:18:50] like how are you dealing with some of that like the trolls of big brother well I had someone handling

[00:18:56] my socials well so I was in the house um and I told my parents like put your things on private

[00:19:01] all that kind of stuff I think it was probably harder for my friends and family because I

[00:19:06] any of the hate has I haven't seen I mean I know generally what the hate was about but um

[00:19:11] it's sort of it's gone now and the people who are spewing the hate have been blocked

[00:19:16] so okay I can't get in anymore uh I get the odd person when I'm doing a tick tock live or whatever

[00:19:22] but um I don't take it personally because I've been the music industry for so long I've seen

[00:19:26] every artist has it coming out I've had publicity before and got a cop to hate for no good reason

[00:19:31] that's just because you're on TV and um I think yeah I think it's harder for family and friends because

[00:19:37] they've never seen this and they're like my friends are jumping in chat rooms and defending me and then

[00:19:42] they're like oh my god I've got to get out of here this is terrible so yeah it's it's not very nice

[00:19:48] the troll stuff but um it's part of it unfortunately yeah I love that you have that say because at times

[00:19:55] I know that uh it could be devastating to some people and some people they aren't equipped to deal

[00:20:01] with the hate uh uh that it comes and sometimes I always try to remember mine my friends that like

[00:20:07] you know as much hate that you're getting you're getting so much more love uh and again it's easy

[00:20:12] to I always say like focus on the love not the hate but again it's like you can have a million

[00:20:16] love and then you get that one like nasty comment and it's like uh um and stuff but that's so good

[00:20:23] to hear yeah the one nasty comment does do you know you will think oh what do they mean like

[00:20:28] you know the comments about my hair it was ridiculous like guys get over I had this hair before big brother

[00:20:35] right and and I'm gonna have it after this is my style I change it all the time I do whatever

[00:20:40] the fuck I want my legs sway but oh listen whatever you want yeah I do whatever I want with

[00:20:46] my hair and the amount of people who could take me on it and they usually it's a particular type

[00:20:51] of person um who has very conservative hair I'll just save it uh not the conservative hair uh going

[00:20:59] back to when uh high sim got eliminated like if you could go back in time is there something you would

[00:21:06] do different in that boat would hide them or do you think you would let it kind of like rock out

[00:21:10] the way that it rocked out well once the decision had been made by my alliance um I was gonna go with

[00:21:17] whatever they decided I didn't agree with I actually brought it up with Surrey I was like why

[00:21:21] are we putting him up like he's a strong competitor he could take us through quite a few rounds by

[00:21:27] winning and then he's still gonna be everyone's gonna want to get rid of him eventually so I just don't

[00:21:32] understand why we're getting rid of him it seemed to be like a paranoia because he was to get out all

[00:21:36] the strong people and it was too early to be doing that in my opinion but look I still would have

[00:21:41] gone along with it but if I had any if I won't well I didn't want to ruffle feathers so yeah I don't

[00:21:48] think it was the right decision but it would have changed the game a lot I think I for sure high

[00:21:52] sim was kind of he was killing it were there any other decisions that you necessarily like went

[00:21:57] along with that you were like I don't want to go along with this decision but keeping some

[00:22:03] I strategy of like not ruffling feathers uh you still went along with so I'm thinking week one

[00:22:10] Riley I didn't really see why we had to do that um definitely wasn't gonna ruffle feathers there week two

[00:22:17] uh who was that week two I'm having an actual blank week two was who the hell was week two

[00:22:27] oh was that high sim no no so Riley was week two person was week one agree Riley week two didn't agree

[00:22:34] then high sim didn't agree then red obviously no then it was the jag coming back well I didn't want

[00:22:42] jag to go that was one of the ones I didn't see why we were voting for him I thought I could work

[00:22:46] with him had to go with the alliance week five was red didn't agree with that week six and onwards

[00:22:55] agree with everything okay what like I want no bogey like in your real life like every day

[00:23:04] do you cook I am not fussy I couldn't care less if I was having protein shakes all day

[00:23:11] but I most certainly wasn't gonna cooking that kitchen with four hundred people in there and it

[00:23:16] was just like it was it was so cluttered and people who could cook were in there and I was like

[00:23:21] you know what I'm gonna stick to the cleaning up thanks very much I'll do the dishes I don't

[00:23:25] know if they showed that because I had people saying how come you're eating all their meals and not

[00:23:29] cooking I'm like I did the dishes every single night for the whole house like yeah so I don't really

[00:23:35] cook that much just keep it basic I'm a chicken and veggie kind of a girl say really yeah and I

[00:23:40] didn't want to you know have my sugar levels going all over the shop in the in the house with eating

[00:23:45] M&M's and cookies all the time so when you go to the grocery store do you go to the grocery store

[00:23:50] or do you use like delivery apps to get to the my grocery stores the same grocery stores

[00:23:56] so I was like yeah and I was like hey I'll find protein bars you know um but yeah so I do get

[00:24:04] the grocery store and I just by literally keep it simple I have what I have an omelet for breakfast

[00:24:09] a egg turkey bacon mushrooms bell peppers and some feta cheese okay I have protein shake protein

[00:24:15] shake protein shake and then dinner I'll have chicken and veggies okay so no lunch just a protein

[00:24:20] shake for the nested yeah well if I want to watch more yeah well teach me your ways okay because I

[00:24:27] feel like after the holidays I didn't put on some pounds but we uh so I know you're very personal

[00:24:33] about your personal life uh and that you don't share but is it okay if I if are are you married

[00:24:40] I am single and ready to mingle oh okay yeah I haven't had much time to be on any dates that's for sure

[00:24:49] well okay well listen welcome to for the love of Bowie Jane right like when you were dating

[00:24:57] like how does dating work for you like are you just friends meeting friends are you on dating apps

[00:25:03] or like with like how does that work I haven't been on the dating apps so much but the um

[00:25:10] I prefer to meet someone like a crossfit or something you know something where you sing the same

[00:25:14] person every day get to know them like my podcast co-host is one of my best mates Jess um she and

[00:25:22] I met at CrossFit and then uh we started a radio show together and then we were like drinking

[00:25:27] at the pub together so if someone at CrossFit that would be perfect or maybe someone

[00:25:31] I go skiing at mammoth all I'd say maybe that or someone in the music industry I think it's

[00:25:35] got to be someone I sort of get to know first okay well do you have a tight what what's Bowie

[00:25:40] Jane's tight okay so I'm looking for tall okay I'll go you know I don't mind a six foot five kind

[00:25:47] of the six four five so I'm probably limiting myself to basketballers well listen I'm

[00:25:54] with you with the high thing no bow y'all okay so we got that coming well what else like tell me

[00:25:59] more like what is your ideal meet like someone compassionate someone um independent like what like

[00:26:09] walk me through this yeah probably someone who's maybe in the music industry because I'm in it

[00:26:14] so we'd have that similarity someone who's independent yes but I do like doing everything

[00:26:21] with my body as well so um someone who likes to do stuff someone who likes to do sports someone

[00:26:27] who likes to ski someone who also likes to drink but not too much okay well there's that fine line

[00:26:34] okay and then what is outside of CrossFit and skiing what is the perfect first day oh first day

[00:26:42] would be a restaurant with great ambience and good food doesn't need to be the fanciest place

[00:26:47] but just somewhere kind of cool good lighting okay and if a first date goes well do you should you

[00:26:56] establish the next date on the first date or is it like you wait until you tax or talk again what's

[00:27:05] your rule of thought on that I mean I'm cool with either but I prefer to organize the next day

[00:27:10] on that date if you don't mind because I don't want to be waiting around for a text and who's meant

[00:27:15] to text first let's just get straight to it you know okay I'd be scared but we have to be like

[00:27:21] all right okay see me and that's probably why I'm single because I'm like all right we not say

[00:27:26] nothing and then it's like I can't text too soon so it's like I'll text the next day yeah

[00:27:31] like I don't want to hit them with the good morning so it's like you know how's your day going

[00:27:37] I mean all of that is kind of exciting of course but yeah it's just let's get straight to it

[00:27:43] I love you

[00:29:25] did you watch the reindeer games i didn't it was so soon after coming out of the house it was crazy

[00:29:31] I had like Jag was staying here Riley was staying here cam was in town it was very very hectic

[00:29:39] and crazy and now looking back on that time that was ridiculous but yeah so i didn't watch it

[00:29:45] but cam obviously we're excited that cam was on the show and yeah so unfortunately i didn't watch it

[00:29:51] but it i was also excited to tell it so well she killed it how soon after you got out the house

[00:29:57] have you watched your season in its entirety i haven't i've seen lots of clips heaps of clips

[00:30:05] so many that i feel like i've got a good grasp i've also been told about things that have happened

[00:30:10] and what people have said i haven't watched it all because there's so many episodes and yeah maybe

[00:30:16] this is um for my next long haul flight oh my god no maybe not actually it's a lot uh what your thoughts on

[00:30:27] would you play again like if you know they came back i said booby jane we want you for a

[00:30:32] returning season is it an automatic yes or is it like a uh i need to think about it

[00:30:39] it's funny when i got out i was like hell no and now i'm like uh actually yes i could do it

[00:30:45] and i'd have a really different mental approach i think it would be much easier i i didn't have a

[00:30:51] problem coping in the house it's more when i got out and look back on that that felt strange but

[00:30:55] i'm over that now and i think yep i could do another season so i do have a question right um

[00:31:02] towards the end when it was the final i want to say five and there was a lot of controversy about

[00:31:10] philicia and syree and how you jag and matt seem to be like i seen them out and there's the

[00:31:17] the one iconic scene where philicia comes into the the dining room and she's just sitting there

[00:31:23] and it's just no one's really talking like we're walk us through that yeah so i'm obviously with

[00:31:30] philicia i had quite a history with her and they may not have shown it but i would walk into rooms

[00:31:35] this is when there are a lot more people in the house into my bedroom and she was she just wouldn't

[00:31:40] talk and i would sit there and i'd said to syree after as i said that was just i said they were

[00:31:45] half an hour trying to talk to her she refused to talk to me this has been happening all season

[00:31:50] um so i once i had my lines with the boys it's just that the numbers started dwindling

[00:31:56] and they were hanging out because they'd been in the lines and we were hanging out if that was more

[00:32:01] it wasn't meant to be that we're trying to make anyone feel terrible it's just we had separated

[00:32:07] way earlier in the game and then the the numbers dwindled and it does look like that but that's not

[00:32:12] what's happening there also staying in their room we're staying in our room um and we didn't quite a

[00:32:18] few times say hey if you want to come up we're just up there with playing cards um which again i

[00:32:23] don't know if they showed that but um that that stuff was happening all the time so um there was no

[00:32:28] intention to make anyone feel excluded i would never do that i don't like that i didn't like it when

[00:32:33] it happened to me in the house so yeah that's not um not an intention of mine but unfortunately

[00:32:38] when the numbers get really low and you're not on this same alliance what are you gonna do

[00:32:42] right kind of like a difficult situation and if i'm you are comfortable with these people then

[00:32:48] it's like you know you're naturally going to want to spend your time with them when it did get

[00:32:53] down to the final three of you Matt and Jack what like what were your expectations like how did

[00:33:00] did you automatically know like hey jag is going to win were you thinking like it could be me it could

[00:33:09] be Matt like where were you with that or were you just happy that the three amigos we got here

[00:33:14] together and this is the final three well that was great that was an amazing moment when we just

[00:33:19] that when it was just the three of us left in the house after um foolish uh no sorry three

[00:33:26] denpillish yeah foolish or doubt this is all a big burner that moment was such relief because i was

[00:33:32] like oh my gosh we actually did our plan we won every week for like six weeks rotating between

[00:33:37] the three of us we've done what we wanted to achieve my next my plan the the next step to that

[00:33:44] plan which i've been working on along was to um hopefully jag to take me not worry too much about

[00:33:50] working on Matt if he won because i figured i could um work on him maybe a little bit later but

[00:33:57] i was pretty sure jag was gonna get through or me uh i thought i was capable of winning comps

[00:34:03] so my plan was to win but my plan set my other plan was to make jag take me and i was pretty

[00:34:10] confident that i could get that to happen i'd also did feel when it changed and i didn't think he

[00:34:16] would win no i didn't not against Matt i thought Matt would win i think jag genuinely thought that too

[00:34:22] and yeah it's like Matt was loved by everyone he was a great guy hadn't done much wrong in the game

[00:34:27] at all he'd helped jag out i mean so but i thought look if jag takes me to the final two

[00:34:36] i might have Cameron for a vote maybe i might have Cory if i've got Cory maybe American but maybe not

[00:34:44] and that would be three potentials and then Matt's just been evicted Matt's gonna be might be

[00:34:50] annoyed at jag so i might have my four votes so um i was also making sure i fed stuff back to the

[00:34:55] jury via Felicia she didn't know that's what i was doing but i kept chatting to her about

[00:35:00] oh we've been in alliance since uh this long ago my strategy through i started talking about

[00:35:05] what my strategy been through the game because i knew my criticism would be oh you haven't done

[00:35:11] anything because i hadn't told anyone what i'd done so i made sure i kept telling her what i was

[00:35:15] doing and that would filter back i also send my goodbye message i've been working with the boy

[00:35:19] since week six um and i knew that would filter back for the jury house too so that would be a

[00:35:24] stronger argument um saying i'd played the game that they didn't realize i was playing quite frankly so

[00:35:30] yeah um i thought there's a chance i could get there and i didn't think jag would win but um

[00:35:35] please you know that's great that he did yeah no jag uh jag had a rough start right like you know

[00:35:41] it seemed like they were coming for jag non-stop and so like you know it was really good to see jag

[00:35:48] kind of like sort of make it through and even Matt like i feel like i love Matt uh i feel like

[00:35:54] he was just like america sweetheart like i just feel like uh matt was amazing when you got out of

[00:36:01] the house and learned that jerry was sarie's son what was that like for you i could not believe i

[00:36:09] couldn't believe it that it never crossed my mind they played that well as in like not knowing

[00:36:16] uh that is crazy and people have been like oh that's an advantage no it wasn't it wasn't an

[00:36:22] advantage at all it might think i'm really bloody messy but um what it was probably entertaining and

[00:36:29] it meant like i think if sarie played like sarie then we would have problems that would be an

[00:36:35] advantage but jerry was playing a completely different game um to what sarie was playing and

[00:36:40] it was a disadvantage in the end i think did because as viewers we know that there were like rumors

[00:36:47] because jerry kind of had leaked his story a little bit and it seemed like there were rumors that uh

[00:36:53] his mind was in the house but people were thinking that it was like mama fee and not sarie so

[00:36:58] were you privy to any of those like rumors that were going on or you kind of were just like i don't know

[00:37:03] what's happening no most of us like i don't think cori knew from memory i most people had no idea

[00:37:09] like the only people knew i guess were people like easy knew because she was a survivor

[00:37:14] fan yeah so i feel like not many people knew and if and obviously blue knew then

[00:37:20] but um i think that was pretty light when she found out from what i've been told but i haven't

[00:37:24] obviously i'm not sure right what so i mean again as i loved when uh july when everyone

[00:37:30] leaves she would like ask everyone that question um and people were like shocked which is

[00:37:35] it's crazy because i couldn't imagine playing with my mom like i think i would have given it up way

[00:37:41] earlier uh then they did because i just felt like our relationship i would have just been like

[00:37:46] what do i think you're right like you know like they they absolutely kind of played it cool

[00:37:52] is there something like what is it that you miss the most about the house now that you're out

[00:37:59] well i thought it was really nice but it's unrealistic in the house no phones no technology

[00:38:05] no distractions so when you're chatting to someone it's like you and i are chatting right now in

[00:38:10] no distractions in the real world these same people i was having conversations within the house with

[00:38:16] no phones and they're stuck on their phones and it's just completely different so i think that part

[00:38:21] was really cool it was it was an interesting experiment so i mean i liked the first two weeks

[00:38:28] in particular even though that was an absolute shit show that was actually amazing like that

[00:38:33] was an amazing time i was having fun so i feel like it i feel like we could tell you were having fun

[00:38:39] right i feel like you were i feel like you were like a kid in like you go on like to a museum and

[00:38:45] you spend the night i feel like you were just like bright-eyed and bushy tail yeah is there something

[00:38:51] what do you miss the least about the house well that's stupid Jim um the gym is terrible it's tiny

[00:39:00] i mean i know they do this on purpose it's a bit of torture but that gym in the house is tiny

[00:39:06] and it's um there's no music so you're riding the bike like i've tried to do exercise every day

[00:39:11] but you don't have backyard access and maybe sometimes two weeks without backyard access it's crazy

[00:39:17] so i'd say i don't miss the gym uh i don't miss the food because it's just not how i eat i eat a

[00:39:26] bit different and oh that's disgusting shower yeah like all of that but there's also it's also fun

[00:39:33] because everyone's in the bathroom together like right yeah and sharing a bedroom is surprisingly fun

[00:39:38] apart from if there's a snorer yeah uh well were you it's the clips of her like singing in her

[00:39:49] sleep and like quarry waking up and looking over uh is so yeah just right oh i was like guys i'm

[00:39:58] moving out of this room i just i cannot sleep like now that it's over right like what is next for

[00:40:06] booby jayne like what i know well first of all this the podcast i'm all over the place right uh one

[00:40:12] so sometimes i feel like i have insomnia where i like i try to like go to sleep early um and so

[00:40:19] i have a good night's sleep but most of the time it's like i'll go to sleep and then i wake up at like

[00:40:23] 2 30 245 and then i'm up until like 6 a.m so happy that we have tiktok because many of nights recently

[00:40:32] i will you are on tiktok and you're a dj yeah no lie booby i will put you on i'll put you on my bed

[00:40:39] stand and i just listen no i had no idea that you're so cool so i'm like a little i'm not too active

[00:40:47] on the tiktok but like it's just it's funny like so what's next for you and talk about your tiktok uh

[00:40:53] and with you dj and i love it like i feel like you are growing your audience and

[00:40:58] sometimes i see the hate like uh what is booby jayne like well number one to the haters

[00:41:04] to build something you got to start from somewhere right like exactly how about we support our sister

[00:41:11] instead of talk but anyway because i yeah you be cracking me up though i'll be uh

[00:41:15] dev you see me giving it back to people quite often i'm like

[00:41:20] sometimes you have to right sometimes we have to be like a jealous but sometimes it's like

[00:41:26] you it's good for your soul oh yeah they're like um oh you didn't play the game you played a

[00:41:32] terrible game and i'm like really okay i'm kind of third off it's never nominated a hundred days

[00:41:38] first time big brother he's i'll just give it straight back to him but my favorite line booby is

[00:41:42] i'll be like what remind me of what game you played let me watch a season of you like

[00:41:47] yeah and i'll be and then i'll be like oh with the name like that oh i'm like yeah sometimes i'm

[00:41:54] feisty and the moderators are in there trying to buddy stop them i'm like leave them now i want to

[00:41:58] speak to them but yeah the tiktok lives have been cool because before like obviously in

[00:42:04] covid i wanted to do dj streams because there were no gigs um and i have all the setup for that

[00:42:10] because i was going to do it but then things opened up and i was back gigging all over america

[00:42:14] so the tiktok live streams i was like instead of me talking to camera the whole time or

[00:42:20] me um doing the battles i thought i would prefer to be doing my skillset which is dj i can also get

[00:42:26] familiar with some new tracks i'm downloading and um chat to the audience you know sometimes there's

[00:42:31] one of those nights i went to six am there was 800 people in the room now that's a fairly decent gig

[00:42:36] you know yeah so um but obviously i'm doing this more midweek because um on the weekends is when

[00:42:43] i'd be gigging um in venues so yeah i've got like the plan is some are starting to get booked now

[00:42:49] which is amazing so i've got lots of pride festivals coming up um lots of gigs and events and

[00:42:57] all over america i'm used to traveling a lot and then yeah i'm down to do the challenge or any of

[00:43:02] those shoes yeah okay i'm down for something bit sporty you know stuff the challenge you are

[00:43:09] say say ring ring ring dj bowie jane what's up she'll be answering and saying yes yes

[00:43:15] now do you watch the challenge yeah i do so um not as much as i've watched big brother but yeah

[00:43:21] obviously kylan was on the mtv one um and so i think the usd yeah that's right so i've been watching

[00:43:28] the mtv one this year because he was on it um but yeah like i love that it's so physical so um you

[00:43:35] know i'm obviously sporty and that i wish there were more sporty challenges in big brother but

[00:43:40] you know my part one of the three-part competition that was ridiculous i have to say but all the others

[00:43:45] were kind of physically not that hard so well you know survivor is is i know i know yes it's an

[00:43:53] option survivor a you just kicked off and it's an amazing cast we got ferris and valeria like

[00:44:00] so do you think you could do survivor i love survivor i love watching survivor

[00:44:05] we'll have to think about being on survivor that's time girl matching said i love survivor yeah i'll be

[00:44:11] like when's my makeup like uh what about amazing race amazing race yeah totally because i'm such a

[00:44:20] travel i love like i'm obsessed with traveling i'm like the points junkie i know all the tricks to

[00:44:26] how do you use your frequent fire points and witch airline and use this for that so yeah i'm an

[00:44:31] average travel have been all over the world indian the poll tyland southeastern i like wherever um

[00:44:37] ureve and yes so something like that would be cool okay who would you if you had to pick off your

[00:44:43] season to do amazing race with who would it be maybe someone else asked me this and someone said

[00:44:50] what about Riley actually she would be fun and she's fit so that could be cool someone like

[00:44:57] Riley okay i can see that what is something as being a DJ uh you know i have a little little experience

[00:45:06] in the music industry but i have a lot of good friends that are musicians and um DJs what is like a

[00:45:13] misconception of the DJ lifestyle that you don't think people are aware of well i think like when

[00:45:21] you're doing gig gig gig and travel travel travel like you're often you're on your own all the time

[00:45:27] so you're arriving which is fine i don't mind that but like you're not surrounded by party people

[00:45:32] because you're turning up to a new venue you're meeting the like the amazing people who are watching

[00:45:38] but then you're going back to an empty hotel room again i don't mind that but the greenroom

[00:45:43] you're in an empty green room unless you're in your hometown you know whereas if you're in a band

[00:45:46] you've got your bandmates so i think that's the part i miss because i used to sing in band so

[00:45:52] i miss having a green room with the bandmates but um yeah i think that misconception that it's all

[00:45:58] party party party but you're often finishing a gig and hopping on a plane right yeah and then it's

[00:46:04] often the next you have to yeah i that travel life is no joke on this show you did uh lie about your

[00:46:12] age yeah i did and well first of all i'm not on big brother and grow i'm out here lying about my

[00:46:20] age too so i understand thank you like people like whoa she's lying about her age i might i live in

[00:46:26] L.A everyone lies about their age here i didn't think it was a big deal but uh

[00:46:31] did like so and that's actually my question like what was your response to the the people

[00:46:36] there were like ah she's lying about her uh because i was like give her a round of applause

[00:46:43] okay like because listen i have recently celebrated my third 21st birthday

[00:46:48] hey you got you know this year it's going to be the fourth one

[00:46:54] yeah i i hear my friends say for years i've been doing this and my friends with johan say

[00:46:59] are you still 27 of the oh no i had to add some use on that right you got to add you got to slowly

[00:47:04] add it for me though i feel like again i i'm getting better at just owning and living in my own

[00:47:09] truth sometimes um sometimes i feel like i'm missing years because like you know somebody like

[00:47:17] a i don't know why like my head is like oh i'm 31 uh and sometimes it's like well damn i need

[00:47:24] to actually start saying my age because it's like shit i missed 31 and 32 because like i

[00:47:30] wasn't i saying that i was there um but i thought it was iconic and i i loved it and again

[00:47:36] despite what they hate to say girl you look good right so it's like

[00:47:41] please like i i'm at i believed it i still think thank you yeah it's the no-key lifestyle i think but

[00:47:49] yeah the reason i had to lie about my age i thought i was told i would probably be the oldest

[00:47:55] person on the show so i was like okay cool and i looked at all the other time i the other seasons

[00:48:01] and we're looking 21 to 27 maybe so i'm like well hell i can't even i have to drop 10 years out for

[00:48:07] sure like um because otherwise they're gonna go well we'll get rid of the people who don't fit in

[00:48:12] any excuse don't lie at the start so i was like lie about your age um and also not tell them

[00:48:17] all the lawyers well um so yeah i had to lie about this because i too if you're looking for an

[00:48:23] excuse to get rid of someone um age might be something yeah and we know on these reality shows

[00:48:28] historically women of a certain age gets targeted early so again to people being like oh i don't

[00:48:35] know why she would do that i'm like do you got not watch reality yeah they target women like

[00:48:40] they target minorities like it's like that's strategy like i i understand it so yeah yeah you

[00:48:47] understand i couldn't understand it and i'm like are you all just mad like i was like okay but

[00:48:53] yeah people are mad sometimes on the tiktok live that make it come out i'm like why do you even care

[00:48:58] like dude there was a strategy you also saying i didn't have a strategy well that was a strategy right

[00:49:04] pick a side like yeah which one are you saying no that's so true uh so i know your birthday is coming up

[00:49:13] it's birthday is February 25th right oh October i was like oh my god is it October ready

[00:49:19] no i'm not joking i literally thought i was like oh shit i've missed so much

[00:49:25] i got no idea what day it is you like brace you don't understand

[00:49:30] oh no i was in that it could be October i was like it could be and i've gotten i think i missed

[00:49:36] an event that means oh boy i can't i'm not i can't just switch you um but going from a lawyer to a

[00:49:45] DJ how what was that process like i'm assuming you were always musical in your life and that's been

[00:49:51] a passion uh but i would what's the story there yes i've always done both and i've always had to

[00:49:59] sort of it's almost a double life i've had to leave the lawyers i mean my good good friends know

[00:50:04] i do the music but i would never tell the legal fraternity that i was doing the music and i wouldn't

[00:50:09] tell the music people i'm doing the law because who wants a DJ that's a lawyer and who wants a lawyer

[00:50:14] that's a DJ i mean i don't think you want a DJ representing a young court i mean depend on the

[00:50:21] outcome of the court i'm a good DJ might be needed no that's right that's true um yeah but so um

[00:50:31] obviously i wear my hair different i don't have line work and blah blah um but i've been trying

[00:50:37] to focus on the music for a long time and it's like i've come in and out the law over the years

[00:50:42] and i it was i mean i've done heaps of money wandering in tax fraud litigation so

[00:50:48] but that was like quite a while ago of course i couldn't talk about a massive chunk of my life

[00:50:53] in the house because i was lying about my age and then i was alert so i had to just chop out

[00:50:58] that section of my life go straight from music to music uh well were you ever DJing at an event

[00:51:05] and someone from your firm was at a party and like on monday morning at the coffee cooler they

[00:51:12] like what was you doing this week it has that ever heard anything like that ever happens

[00:51:16] well i've never been caught but legit what happened was i was um performing the Australian open

[00:51:22] tennis on the main stage but i also was being a barrister at the same time so i had a meeting

[00:51:28] and i had to leave the meeting because i had to go down to two sound check and then a gig

[00:51:32] and i told the barrister that i was waiting with us like well i've got another meeting so

[00:51:36] i then run down because it wasn't far away and then have to get changed rock myself up and i'm on

[00:51:41] sage and i'm thinking oh my god i hope i don't run into anyone that i know from the law because i've

[00:51:47] just lied instead of going to another meeting but in court someone geodat said aren't you the singing

[00:51:52] DJ a um a policewoman actually from one side the courtroom to the other and i was like oh my god

[00:51:59] this is terrifying and one other time he's a judge what did you answer them what did you were he was like

[00:52:06] I go dying because i'm back to court like i had to go back into court and i'm back to cross

[00:52:10] examine right because i had a bit of press in moment at the time then the i walk out of the that

[00:52:16] same day i walk out the courtroom and as i'm walking out the judge says excuse me and i said yes

[00:52:22] not the judge yeah in this in front of a full courtroom and he said i hear you been having some

[00:52:27] success outside the courtroom and i said oh yes thank you and he said well congratulations and i

[00:52:34] said thank you and then i walked out like oh my god what the hell was that because it's so premium

[00:52:40] proper the courtroom right i'd been like well what you doing this you you want to come out what has

[00:52:47] it like you're in LA i'm assuming you get recognized often in the street what is that like for you

[00:52:55] yeah that it's been really it's been cool i love um chatting to people who watch the show so

[00:53:00] well i've had lots of people coming out it's especially at airports like LA is a bit more

[00:53:05] used to tv people there's everyone's in tv here so but i think if they see them not everyone comes up

[00:53:11] but the moment i hit an airport it's like oh my god security to say we're like can i have a photo

[00:53:17] i was like oh my gosh so it is really cool just to it's a real cross section of ages that watch big

[00:53:23] brother which is cool and from all over america so yeah it's really fun to meet everyone

[00:53:29] well i look forward to the day that i can meet you i hope it's an airport so i can be like

[00:53:34] day jay boi jay! do it do it i love it i love it who uh from your cast are you still very close to it

[00:53:42] close to you yeah so obviously jag was staying with me for a couple of weeks so jag met um camera

[00:53:49] and red korean america we're obviously all on a group chat but these are the people who have been

[00:53:55] in and out of LA i guess blues here um so yeah it's it i'd and Riley Riley stayed with me i was like wait

[00:54:02] who am i missing but like the people who live on the east coast i haven't seen so much or i haven't

[00:54:07] sent at all because i just haven't they're not here so yeah it's mostly people who are coming into

[00:54:12] LA which is quite often people are coming in and out well when you book us some shows on the east

[00:54:16] coast when you come in the filly you know big D you know yeah the ladofi are like you know we

[00:54:22] got to get you over here oh my gosh they're awesome gigs being put um pitch bag oh okay i mean

[00:54:29] somewhere else i can't remember yeah and york as well we will travel we will we will travel to see

[00:54:36] the the DJ bowie jang uh before we go is there like how would you sum up your experience of this whole

[00:54:46] realm that you have inserted yourself into like the good the bad ugly the great like how would

[00:54:53] you sum it up well i would say i'm forever changed from that show in ways that you can't even pin

[00:54:59] point and you don't know until something weird happens but you have some form of PTSD from that show

[00:55:04] not necessarily negative but there are after effects um i think it's an amazing experience and

[00:55:11] a really interesting experiment with humans so i've really enjoyed that and um i'd say it's

[00:55:18] being great to meet people from all over america and i think it's great to be on the tiktok

[00:55:23] lives and be chatting to people i think that's more it's it's a broader fan base um that maybe

[00:55:29] what i've had before so i'm you know my dj world's very specific so it's really great to have a broad

[00:55:36] cross-ranged of people than i'm chatting to now well we love it it was so fun to watch you on the show
