[00:02:57] Jatia and I are breaking it all down this week.
[00:03:00] So listen, let's get in to the Real Housewives of Potomac Season 9 coverage.

[00:03:13] It's a man who? It's a man you.
[00:03:15] Me and potatoes like we're cooking up a great stew.
[00:03:23] Welcome back to the Purple Pants Podcast, Real Housewives of Potomac Season 9, coverage of Episode 1 and 2.
[00:03:31] I'm joined by my amazing, my talented, the oh-so-lovely Dr. Jatia Hart Taylor.
[00:03:37] Welcome back to the podcast.
[00:03:39] Hello.
[00:03:40] So happy to be here.
[00:03:41] Who, me?
[00:03:42] It's me.
[00:03:43] And we're so happy to be back talking all things Potomac.
[00:03:49] And we have a lot to get into.
[00:03:51] Oh, yes.
[00:03:52] We're covering Episode 1 and 2 this week.
[00:03:54] You know, this is a bi-weekly coverage of the Potomac Housewives.
[00:03:57] So every two weeks we'll be coming, covering two episodes.
[00:04:00] We have the first episode and the second episode.
[00:04:02] We will breeze through the first episode.
[00:04:04] We won't breeze through like Karen was driving in that car that night.
[00:04:10] How long till we get there?
[00:04:11] ETA?
[00:04:12] Fami?
[00:04:13] What's the ETA?
[00:04:14] Fami.
[00:04:15] Woo!
[00:04:15] Because, listen, we need to talk about that because...
[00:04:18] But anyway, so Episode 1 starts off with them recreating Karen's DUI.
[00:04:26] Now, bravo.
[00:04:27] The recreation y'all play too much.
[00:04:30] Reenactment.
[00:04:30] It was the reenactment.
[00:04:31] And I was like, well, what in the true crime is going on here?
[00:04:37] So that was shady.
[00:04:39] They didn't have to keep showing that deer.
[00:04:42] Like, I was like, what the deer got to do with it?
[00:04:44] Leave them, be out of it.
[00:04:46] So I thought that was so shady.
[00:04:48] But, you know, this is what happened when you don't have actual footage and stuff like that.
[00:04:52] So, yes, it is all over the news.
[00:04:57] Everybody got an opinion.
[00:05:00] Everybody got something to say.
[00:05:01] This, to me, was very interesting because it's very reminiscent of kind of very early Potomac, right?
[00:05:08] Because with rape, the Black Bill Gates, you know...
[00:05:12] Like in Texas.
[00:05:13] Right.
[00:05:15] And all of that.
[00:05:16] So it's another Karen standout, you know?
[00:05:19] And, yeah, what happened?
[00:05:20] She had a driver.
[00:05:21] So I don't know why.
[00:05:22] See, this is what happened.
[00:05:23] Y'all got on Blue Eyes.
[00:05:24] She was trying to do right.
[00:05:26] She got on a driver.
[00:05:26] But Blue Eyes was the trainer.
[00:05:29] He was not the driver.
[00:05:30] He was the trainer.
[00:05:31] Okay?
[00:05:32] I heard he was doing every job that was needed.
[00:05:36] Training, driving, plumbing, all that.
[00:05:40] Yes.
[00:05:41] Well, the Green Eye Bandits are no longer.
[00:05:43] And Giselle, I have to say these first two episodes, Giselle has been holding her own.
[00:05:47] She has reached out to Karen.
[00:05:48] They've gone to breakfast.
[00:05:51] Of course, Giselle has to be somewhat shady picking her up.
[00:05:55] And Giselle is asking Karen questions.
[00:05:57] Hey, how are you?
[00:05:57] Do we know any court dates?
[00:05:59] Like, what's happening?
[00:05:59] Karen said, you can read.
[00:06:03] You can look it up.
[00:06:04] Okay.
[00:06:04] So I like that, you know, Giselle is asking questions.
[00:06:08] But you know, I don't answer that, honestly, on camera.
[00:06:11] So, I mean, the you can read is a...
[00:06:14] Yeah.
[00:06:15] I mean, every time a housewife or anybody have legal issues that are still pending, you should not talk about it.
[00:06:21] Just, I don't know.
[00:06:22] Don't talk about it.
[00:06:26] They can...
[00:06:26] Now, I agree.
[00:06:28] Like, you know, but also, you are filming a season.
[00:06:33] And so, is it the best for you?
[00:06:34] Yeah, but I ain't...
[00:06:35] Look, I'm not about to go to jail for y'all entertainment.
[00:06:38] So, you asked, good try, Giselle, and you got shut down.
[00:06:42] So, boom.
[00:06:43] There it is.
[00:06:44] Keep it moving.
[00:06:45] You shouldn't even be mad.
[00:06:47] We get to meet some new housewives.
[00:06:49] We get to meet Stacey, who was on QVC.
[00:06:52] She was at Fox 5.
[00:06:53] I believe I met Stacey when I was at Fox 5, you know, doing a little press.
[00:06:59] She was in Philly for QVC.
[00:07:00] I like Stacey.
[00:07:02] I don't know if Stacey knows exactly what she's getting into.
[00:07:06] Stacey seems like a classy lady.
[00:07:08] A classy lady, right?
[00:07:10] Don't they always seem like classy ladies?
[00:07:12] I mean, they are classy ladies when they get into it.
[00:07:13] But baby, that don't stop nobody from getting down in the mud, honey.
[00:07:18] So, I would like to, you know, welcome Stacey.
[00:07:22] Hello.
[00:07:22] Thank you for sharing your life.
[00:07:25] But girl, honey.
[00:07:28] We'll see.
[00:07:29] We will see.
[00:07:30] We also see Vivian in the first episode.
[00:07:32] It looks like she's a boutique owner and a friend of Karen.
[00:07:36] Gives real, like, friend of show energy.
[00:07:40] She's definitely not a main character.
[00:07:42] But I like Vivian seeing her, you know, happy to see her.
[00:07:47] There was also another friend of, who was it Mia's friend, Jossie?
[00:07:52] Jossie?
[00:07:53] Mm-hmm.
[00:07:54] So, this is what I thought was really interesting.
[00:07:57] In Karen's birthday brunch, triple 20 plus one, the attitude brunch, Kiana was not invited, right?
[00:08:08] Mm-hmm.
[00:08:08] But Jossie and the other friend of, so I think that a whole bunch of them were filming,
[00:08:14] and they let them film, and then they figured out who was going to be a friend of,
[00:08:18] and who was going to get a peach.
[00:08:19] Well, you know who was at the attitude party?
[00:08:22] Jacqueline was bright there early, and she had a lot to say, talking about, well, Karen called her drunk,
[00:08:29] and she was thinking that she was drunk, like...
[00:08:32] Now, whose friend of is Jacqueline?
[00:08:34] I mean, I think Jacqueline now is just a friend of, right?
[00:08:38] Because clearly her and Mia are friends, or sisters.
[00:08:42] But usually, usually you have an invited friend, right?
[00:08:45] And at first it was Mia, but clearly, you know, they're not friends.
[00:08:49] So, what I thought was interesting was, how you going to be a...
[00:08:52] It seems like she was invited friend of Karen, but she wasn't very complimentary to Karen.
[00:08:58] Karen, so, hmm, maybe that's why you ain't got no peach, because you tried to come in blazing hot,
[00:09:04] and...
[00:09:04] Or not peach, sorry.
[00:09:06] What, I don't know what they hold.
[00:09:07] Cherry blossom.
[00:09:08] They hold a cherry blossom.
[00:09:09] So, um...
[00:09:11] Yeah, I...
[00:09:12] So, maybe she came in a little too hot before she had solidified her lineage into the group,
[00:09:16] or whatever.
[00:09:16] But yeah, tons of people at the Hattitude brunch.
[00:09:20] I enjoyed it.
[00:09:21] And again, I feel like she's going hard at Karen, but also, maybe she's still Team Mia.
[00:09:26] Yeah, but I like the Hattitude brunch.
[00:09:28] I thought it was interesting.
[00:09:30] Giselle gives everyone hats and shows them their love.
[00:09:33] Then Karen and Giselle kind of start talking to Mia about Gordon and the radio DJ personality.
[00:09:44] And I definitely thought Giselle and them were going low when they were like,
[00:09:49] you didn't protect your kids at all costs.
[00:09:51] And Mia gets visibly upset.
[00:09:52] Now, yeah, I didn't love that at all.
[00:09:54] I understood what they were saying, but like...
[00:09:58] Just leave the kids out of it.
[00:09:59] Leave the kids out of it.
[00:10:00] You know, it's already bad enough that it happened, but then for you to drag their mama on camera,
[00:10:06] I think it's a bit much.
[00:10:07] But, you know, like, I never like when people are talking about the children in these shows,
[00:10:12] in the reality shows.
[00:10:14] Then, at the end of the episode, we get an interesting little synopsis from Mia and Gordon,
[00:10:21] where the radio personality is questioning the paternity of Jeremiah.
[00:10:26] Gordon is saying there is absolutely no question and there isn't a need for paternity because Gordon is the father.
[00:10:34] Now, that gave me pause.
[00:10:36] So, that gave me pause, too.
[00:10:38] But this is the thing.
[00:10:39] This is what happens when you open the door.
[00:10:42] Because if I was a little boy, I'd be like, well, if you say you're my daddy, then stop being messy and calling it into question.
[00:10:50] That's not right for you, little boy.
[00:10:52] And if I was Mia, I would absolutely get a paternity test because now you're going back and forth and that child deserves enough.
[00:11:00] And Gordon is older and, let's be real, in Black communities, they do stuff like this.
[00:11:06] That's your daddy and that's the end of it.
[00:11:10] No.
[00:11:11] Let's figure it out.
[00:11:13] So, it's like, for me, for Gordon to say that, I feel like Gordon has to maybe believe that, like, Jeremiah might not be his biological son.
[00:11:21] However, that does not take away from the fact that you have raised Jeremiah and all...
[00:11:26] It does not take away from the fact that you have raised Jeremiah.
[00:11:30] And I think you should continue to, you know, do so because that's your son.
[00:11:35] But the fact of the matter is, you brought it up.
[00:11:38] Y'all keep bringing it up.
[00:11:39] It has to be addressed.
[00:11:41] Yeah.
[00:11:42] So, just interesting.
[00:11:43] But just, I also thought it was so weird that Gordon just didn't want to, like, address it.
[00:11:46] I'm like, hmm, what's going on here now, Gordon?
[00:11:48] Now, that's really all the meat and potatoes of episode one.
[00:11:51] Episode two, we're finishing at the Hattitude party.
[00:11:54] And Giselle is giving all of these ladies queen hats, sleigh hats.
[00:11:59] Wendy gets a bucket.
[00:12:01] Now, this would have been a perfect opportunity to talk about Robin's business.
[00:12:05] You know, since she had a hat business.
[00:12:07] And what a missed opportunity.
[00:12:08] I just want to put that out there.
[00:12:10] Because I love my embellished.
[00:12:13] Is it?
[00:12:13] Yeah, embellished.
[00:12:14] Embellished, yes.
[00:12:15] But listen, Robin has opened up a second location of her spa.
[00:12:18] So, my girl Robin is doing real quick.
[00:12:20] But also, real quick, since we talked about that, because they still have their Reasonably Shady podcast.
[00:12:25] Okay?
[00:12:26] You know I support over here.
[00:12:28] Reasonably Shady podcast.
[00:12:29] Now, on one of their podcasts, Giselle announced that she was doing a solo show.
[00:12:36] And I thought that was interesting.
[00:12:37] And I'm like, why would Giselle be doing a solo show?
[00:12:40] But I also thought maybe, you know, when you sign these Bravo contracts and you create products and you create things, Bravo takes a percentage out of it.
[00:12:50] And I guess maybe Robin was like, yeah, I ain't doing nothing where Bravo is taking a check.
[00:12:55] So, you go ahead, Giselle, and do that.
[00:12:57] That was just kind of sort of what came to my mind.
[00:12:59] But I was like, okay, not Giselle doing solo shows now, but y'all still got Reasonably Shady.
[00:13:04] Well, maybe it's just a limited series, you know, like an anthology.
[00:13:08] Okay.
[00:13:10] And Giselle and Wendy have lunch.
[00:13:14] I am here for this.
[00:13:15] And we've said this in our preview.
[00:13:17] Listen, Giselle ain't got Robin.
[00:13:19] Wendy ain't got Candace.
[00:13:21] If we can't, what they say, if you can't beat them, join them.
[00:13:25] Yes.
[00:13:26] Yes.
[00:13:26] So, I like to see this.
[00:13:29] As Giselle remarks, this is the best conversation that they had.
[00:13:32] And I totally agree that this is the best conversation that they had.
[00:13:37] Nobody tried to pop off on each other.
[00:13:40] Giselle mentioned that usually when Wendy is in conflict with somebody, she tends to belittle them and treat them like they're stupid.
[00:13:51] Dr. Wendy.
[00:13:52] Dr. Wendy, which is, you know, she does.
[00:13:55] And I think she was very open to receiving that.
[00:13:58] I do think that they are trying to pull their punches a little bit because, I mean, if they start going at it this early in the season, they got to have some sort of baseline.
[00:14:09] Maybe they'll, you know, break up a little bit.
[00:14:12] But, like, right now, nobody likes each other, you know, in the whole show.
[00:14:16] So, that'll make a good season.
[00:14:18] You know, Ashley is the only one who could stand any one of them.
[00:14:22] Right?
[00:14:22] And, you know, she can't carry it all by herself.
[00:14:25] Like, she got to bring bones here and back and forth to somebody.
[00:14:29] So, I think it's a good thing that they are mending fences.
[00:14:32] And, you know, no drinks are thrown.
[00:14:35] No lettuce is thrown.
[00:14:37] Right?
[00:14:38] Right?
[00:14:38] Because that is the, you know, knives are waggled in people's faces.
[00:14:42] That is, you know, the tenor of Potomac.
[00:14:45] Right?
[00:14:46] Leaves and knives and, you know, wine bottles and stuff like that.
[00:14:50] So, none of that happens.
[00:14:51] And that's a successful meal in Potomac.
[00:14:55] I agree.
[00:14:56] We get to see a little bit more of Stacey.
[00:14:58] And I like, from all that we're seeing about Stacey, I like Stacey.
[00:15:02] She is co-parenting.
[00:15:04] She's going through a divorce.
[00:15:05] They're living together but not living together.
[00:15:09] I really understand that much.
[00:15:11] But I really wanted to talk to you about her raising biracial children and her being a Black woman.
[00:15:17] And I definitely thought of you a lot throughout this episode when she was talking about her daughter
[00:15:22] and how she grew up as a Black woman and, like, she lives far from Detroit right now.
[00:15:29] And she wants to give her daughter the experience of knowing that, like, you know, you're Black.
[00:15:33] And I just remember at a point in time, maybe, like, two years ago when I was over in Chicago
[00:15:38] or whenever we were talking, and how important you were talking about your daughter going to a diverse school.
[00:15:44] And so, I was like, oh, my God.
[00:15:45] Like, this is reminding me so much of Jatia.
[00:15:47] Like, what were your thoughts on seeing this?
[00:15:49] And what is your thoughts?
[00:15:50] So, for me, my husband is White.
[00:15:53] And so, my kids are, indeed, both White and Black.
[00:15:57] Though, I say you're Black.
[00:16:00] You know, that's my take on it.
[00:16:02] But they are going to be able to define themselves.
[00:16:05] I want them to know both parts of their heritage.
[00:16:07] So, yes, I go out of my way to make sure that they are exposed to Black culture.
[00:16:13] Whether that's my family, whether that's cultural groups, whether we're talking about it,
[00:16:18] they know that they're Black and they're White.
[00:16:20] They know both sides of their families.
[00:16:22] And I make sure, like, yeah, we talk about MLK.
[00:16:25] We talk about slavery.
[00:16:26] We talk about all that.
[00:16:27] Look, we was walking home from Target.
[00:16:29] Then we started talking about purse matches.
[00:16:31] Like, you live in the city, girl.
[00:16:33] And, you know, it be going down.
[00:16:34] Don't be walking down the street with no expensive purse.
[00:16:36] It was a play purse.
[00:16:37] I bought her, like, a little play purse, but it looked like designer.
[00:16:40] And I was like, nah, we're going to put that in the bag until we get home.
[00:16:42] Because, so, you know, so I like to expose them to lots of culture.
[00:16:48] And I think that's important for them not to be sheltered, to be exposed to different social groups,
[00:16:54] different cultural groups that involve their background.
[00:16:57] So this really resonated with me.
[00:16:58] And, yeah, she does want her daughter to know, you know, what it means to be a Black woman.
[00:17:04] And I think that's great.
[00:17:05] There's all kind of organizations out there or play ways that she can connect.
[00:17:11] So I think kudos to her.
[00:17:12] And I love that she was able to talk to Ashley, who is also the product of a biracial relationship
[00:17:19] and, you know, can help her navigate those sorts of issues.
[00:17:25] So I loved it.
[00:17:26] Like, that was my favorite little walk and talk of the whole time.
[00:17:28] Yes, I loved it.
[00:17:29] Now, Stacey's children are bilingual.
[00:17:33] Trilingual.
[00:17:34] Trilingual.
[00:17:36] Spanish, German, and English.
[00:17:38] Because her husband is German.
[00:17:42] Is your son bilingual?
[00:17:43] Yes.
[00:17:44] My little boy is bilingual.
[00:17:47] He goes to a bilingual school.
[00:17:49] He speaks Spanish and English, both pretty fluently.
[00:17:54] Well, English definitely fluently.
[00:17:56] No, he speaks Spanish because when Uncle Bryce comes around,
[00:17:59] I always leave little notes in Spanish for the kids to find.
[00:18:02] And they tickle themselves with it.
[00:18:06] So, yes.
[00:18:07] Here's another thing where I'm looking at Ashley sideways.
[00:18:09] When Ashley is talking with Stacey, Ashley's like,
[00:18:11] Girl, you still live with your husband?
[00:18:14] Oh!
[00:18:15] Yes.
[00:18:15] I was like, Black.
[00:18:17] I was like, Black.
[00:18:18] Be me!
[00:18:18] Like, when other people was telling you that, you wasn't having it.
[00:18:22] So, whatever.
[00:18:24] Whatever, girl.
[00:18:25] She'll get to it.
[00:18:25] Just like you got to it on your own time.
[00:18:27] The interesting, more interesting part was when she was talking about how she was in a relationship,
[00:18:36] a new relationship, and that relationship was a conservative, a sexually conservative relationship.
[00:18:46] I need me a sexually liberal relationship.
[00:18:51] Listen, I am a man of a very young age.
[00:18:56] Oh!
[00:18:57] How old?
[00:18:59] In my mid to early 20s, early 30s.
[00:19:04] Okay.
[00:19:05] I don't know.
[00:19:05] That's a big gap.
[00:19:06] Yeah.
[00:19:07] Okay.
[00:19:07] Listen, I'm doing sumash.
[00:19:10] But, yeah.
[00:19:12] I mean, I don't knock anybody.
[00:19:14] Listen, do you, whatever makes you work.
[00:19:17] But in this day and age, me as a middle-aged woman, I need to test drive a car.
[00:19:25] I need to see what we like.
[00:19:29] You know, kudos to her.
[00:19:32] That's all I like.
[00:19:33] You know, I'm married, and I intend to stay married, so I ain't even thought about having no problem.
[00:19:39] I don't know how I would have those problems.
[00:19:42] I, ooh, honey.
[00:19:43] Mm, these streets is rough, okay?
[00:19:45] When you were dating your husband, were you in a conservative, what's the word you used?
[00:19:53] So, me and my husband decided to get married on our third date, so there was no pre-decisional marital sex.
[00:20:04] Okay.
[00:20:05] I'ma let you live, Karen.
[00:20:09] Do you?
[00:20:10] We decided to get married before we had sex, so.
[00:20:15] Okay.
[00:20:16] But, you know, you got married on your third date, so you didn't have to wait.
[00:20:19] No, no, no.
[00:20:20] I said we decided to get married before we had sex.
[00:20:22] Oh.
[00:20:23] Okay.
[00:20:24] You see those distinctions?
[00:20:26] Those distinctions are important.
[00:20:27] Yeah, they can trip you up.
[00:20:30] Now.
[00:20:30] With your age, yeah.
[00:20:31] Now, baby, there's no trip up about that, honey.
[00:20:34] Okay.
[00:20:35] You are my senior.
[00:20:36] Okay.
[00:20:37] That is her decision.
[00:20:38] I think it's a very noble decision.
[00:20:41] It's just, it's not my cup of tea.
[00:20:43] I don't think that's the road I would be on.
[00:20:46] But respect to her.
[00:20:49] I think Ashley is also incredulous.
[00:20:53] Like, we are like, girl, what is going on?
[00:20:55] So, yeah.
[00:20:57] And then, also, she showed the dude face.
[00:21:01] So, we'll see how that.
[00:21:04] You look like Cynthia Bailey's second husband a little bit.
[00:21:08] Like, but, yeah.
[00:21:09] Listen, if she loves it, I like it.
[00:21:11] Again, I think she is, what do they call it?
[00:21:13] Like a greenhorn to this reality TV.
[00:21:17] Yeah, I'm a little concerned about how that relationship is going to hold up.
[00:21:20] I hope it does.
[00:21:21] You know, I'm never trying to break up anybody in love.
[00:21:24] But, honey, honey, girl, you know they about to dig in all of his business, honey.
[00:21:30] Then, we, Karen meets up with Keorna.
[00:21:33] Okay?
[00:21:34] We miss our girl.
[00:21:35] Did Star Jones decide, like, do you remember way back, Star Jones when she, like, I think
[00:21:39] they also were not having sex until after he got married.
[00:21:42] Well, I don't think they ever had.
[00:21:46] Al Reynolds.
[00:21:47] Yeah.
[00:21:48] Yeah.
[00:21:49] Because he was religious, wasn't it?
[00:21:52] So, anyway.
[00:21:52] I don't mean if that's, you know.
[00:21:56] Listen, to each his own.
[00:21:58] To each his own.
[00:21:59] To each his own.
[00:22:01] Because if I'm marrying a woman, we are, we're not going to have sex before we get married.
[00:22:06] And we're probably not going to have it after we get married.
[00:22:08] So, listen.
[00:22:09] Whatever works for you.
[00:22:11] Whatever works for you.
[00:22:12] I agree.
[00:22:13] But we get to see Keorna.
[00:22:14] Now, mind you, I have to say, right?
[00:22:16] Like, I loved Keorna last season.
[00:22:19] A little on the fence with Keorna a little bit this season.
[00:22:22] But.
[00:22:22] Oh.
[00:22:23] So, this is the thing with Keorna.
[00:22:24] I love Keorna.
[00:22:25] I am glad to see her posing politely with the cherry blossom.
[00:22:30] But whose friend was she last season?
[00:22:32] Okay, girl.
[00:22:33] She was, she was Wendy's.
[00:22:36] I am so confused.
[00:22:37] Like, these friends of Honey is shaking things up.
[00:22:40] So, I'm like, okay.
[00:22:41] She was Wendy's friend last season.
[00:22:43] And, and, and who was, who Debra, who was Debra a friend of?
[00:22:47] Debra is Mia's sister.
[00:22:49] Oh, Debra is, Debra is Ashley's friend.
[00:22:52] Debra is Ashley's friend.
[00:22:53] But I don't think we'll be seeing Debra this season.
[00:22:56] No.
[00:22:56] Debra gotta go.
[00:22:57] But, okay.
[00:22:58] So, so I was just very confused.
[00:23:01] Because, so, yeah.
[00:23:02] Keorna, girl, don't go to the G&A event.
[00:23:05] You done already got, you know, bopped upside the head.
[00:23:08] It wasn't even your thing, honey.
[00:23:09] But you had them, them samurai hands, honey, coming to the rescue.
[00:23:13] When nobody wouldn't help themselves.
[00:23:16] So, yeah.
[00:23:16] You just stay out of it.
[00:23:17] So, I understand.
[00:23:18] She ain't get invited to the, um.
[00:23:21] The hat.
[00:23:22] The hat array.
[00:23:23] The hatoration, uh, adoration for hat.
[00:23:27] Whatever.
[00:23:28] Um, and.
[00:23:29] I see a bit of foreshadowing with Keorna.
[00:23:32] She's talking about this boyfriend, uh, that she has moved in with.
[00:23:36] They're getting ready to buy a house.
[00:23:38] Greg, we've seen it in the previews.
[00:23:39] Greg don't look, I don't know how I feel about Greg.
[00:23:42] I think they're more excited about Keorna.
[00:23:45] Yeah.
[00:23:45] That's really, that's what, like, I don't like it when I see dudes who be like, oh, whatever.
[00:23:50] Like, um, this reminds me of Simone Biles' husband.
[00:23:53] Oh.
[00:23:54] Though he has pulled up majorly.
[00:23:56] Because when we first went, he was like, yeah, I didn't even know who Simone Biles was.
[00:23:59] I was like, dude, you stupid.
[00:24:00] So, that's, that's not saying much for you, sir.
[00:24:05] Um, cause this woman is a great athlete and you are, meh.
[00:24:09] And so anyway, I, I need him to be more excited.
[00:24:12] He does not seem enthusiastic.
[00:24:14] And I feel like Keorna is somebody, somebody to be enthusiastic.
[00:24:17] If that's your woman, you need to be enthusiastic about it.
[00:24:21] So, anyway, the crux of the second episode comes when Giselle and the Dom, they get together,
[00:24:32] they're having a good relationship.
[00:24:36] But to me, I'm blaming the Dom on this one.
[00:24:38] So, the Dom comes firing out, oh, why you was being shady at the brunch?
[00:24:44] And da-da-da-da-da-da.
[00:24:45] I was like, because you had a non-alcoholic drink and you may have mentioned my name.
[00:24:52] I was like, she must have been shady.
[00:24:54] Dang, she can't love it.
[00:24:56] I didn't think that was being shady, Edie.
[00:24:57] Not either.
[00:24:58] I thought now that some of the girls with their question was shady.
[00:25:01] But I definitely didn't think that maybe, maybe what the Grand Dom is saying is that
[00:25:07] the drink itself wasn't shady, but you don't need to announce that it's non-alcoholic.
[00:25:11] Right?
[00:25:12] Like, maybe.
[00:25:13] Girl.
[00:25:14] She can read, right?
[00:25:16] She can read.
[00:25:17] Right.
[00:25:17] So, I think she was just being a little sensitivo.
[00:25:20] But, like, Giselle came and picked you up, came and planned this whole party.
[00:25:25] She didn't throw, you know, she asked you one-on-one.
[00:25:28] You told her, basically, let it go.
[00:25:30] And she did.
[00:25:32] Oh, my goodness.
[00:25:33] Like, the Dom need to calm down, okay?
[00:25:36] She need to calm all the way down.
[00:25:37] So, then, so, she came a little bit, came in hot a little bit when they one-on-one.
[00:25:43] And Giselle even tried to defuse it.
[00:25:45] She was like, no.
[00:25:46] I did not mean to be shady.
[00:25:48] Very, very low-key trying to defuse the situation.
[00:25:52] She even asked her, you know, are you coming to my thing?
[00:25:54] Yes.
[00:25:55] Is that a different time?
[00:25:56] Da-da-da-da-da-da.
[00:25:57] I got to check the time.
[00:25:59] Well, no.
[00:25:59] Then she announced that she has her other events.
[00:26:02] And Giselle's like, well, what time is it?
[00:26:05] Karen's like, I don't know.
[00:26:06] I'll have to figure it out.
[00:26:08] Okay.
[00:26:08] Red flag number one, Grand Dom.
[00:26:10] Yes.
[00:26:11] It was a huge red flag.
[00:26:12] And not only that, but she should have just let it go.
[00:26:15] She should have let it go.
[00:26:18] And just took the three, whoever, like, it was five of them.
[00:26:22] She should have took the two, Kiarna and Wendy, who was going to stay.
[00:26:26] And she should have just let the other ones go.
[00:26:28] That's what she should have did.
[00:26:29] But, no.
[00:26:30] At 6 a.m., Karen sends a text message.
[00:26:32] First of all, let's just put the facts out there.
[00:26:34] Here, Giselle's G&A with Ashley Infusion benefit, she announced at Karen's hat party, which was a week prior.
[00:26:43] Now, the day before, Karen sends out this text message saying, ladies, all of you that are attending the G&A event, my event is the same day.
[00:26:50] I've arranged for transportation to take you to and from.
[00:26:55] And Giselle wrote back, anybody that's planning on going to Karen's, you don't need to go back and forth.
[00:27:00] You can just stay.
[00:27:01] Now, we know how the grand don feels about parents.
[00:27:04] We know she buried her mother seven months later.
[00:27:08] She buried her father.
[00:27:10] The reason why she got this DUI is she just hasn't processed her parents, right?
[00:27:17] So, listen.
[00:27:19] I'm with Giselle.
[00:27:20] Now, mind you, I know y'all want to say I'm always right with Giselle.
[00:27:23] But I'm standing 10 toes down with Giselle on this.
[00:27:26] I'm with Giselle on this one, too.
[00:27:28] And, you know, she ain't my fave.
[00:27:29] But I'm with her.
[00:27:30] The grand don was totally messy.
[00:27:33] Also, let me tell you who was really wrong to me.
[00:27:38] Was the girls who tried to make it to both parties.
[00:27:41] Either they should have changed their RSVP, Wendy and Kiana, and gone to that one.
[00:27:46] And then the other three, they should have went to Giselle's party.
[00:27:50] That's it.
[00:27:51] So, and this is where I feel bad for Stacey.
[00:27:53] First of all, Vivian and Jacqueline said, listen, we ain't playing no games.
[00:27:56] We at GNA.
[00:27:57] Okay?
[00:27:58] Period.
[00:27:59] And which was crazy because Vivian is another friend of Karen's.
[00:28:02] And so, but listen, when you RSVP, you RSVP.
[00:28:06] And so, it was interesting.
[00:28:09] I do feel bad for Stacey.
[00:28:12] I do feel bad for whoever else was with them.
[00:28:15] Stacey, Mia, and the other new girl.
[00:28:18] Jossie.
[00:28:19] Jossie.
[00:28:20] I understand you trying to make it to both.
[00:28:22] And me personally, I just feel bad.
[00:28:24] I feel bad for Stacey the most because.
[00:28:26] I don't even feel bad.
[00:28:27] First of all, I don't even feel bad for Stacey.
[00:28:30] And I think Stacey let them girls hype her head up.
[00:28:32] But guess what?
[00:28:33] She gonna learn today.
[00:28:35] So, welcome to the Real Housewives of Conway, Stacey.
[00:28:39] Because you let them girls get you, honey.
[00:28:42] You should have still their own business.
[00:28:44] And what was interesting was Stacey was sitting up there and being like,
[00:28:48] I don't know where they do this.
[00:28:49] They don't, honey.
[00:28:50] So, why would you?
[00:28:51] Don't do it.
[00:28:53] Now, of course, Real Housewives of Potomac is gonna leave us on a cliffhanger.
[00:28:57] But baby, they called Ashley, said that, oh, we'll probably get there at 830-ish.
[00:29:02] The event ends at 9.
[00:29:03] What's the point of coming?
[00:29:05] Oh, try to make it for 8.
[00:29:06] Ashley tells Giselle.
[00:29:07] Giselle simply says, do not come.
[00:29:09] Giselle is doing this to benefit her father.
[00:29:12] The National, what was it?
[00:29:13] Brain Tumor Association is there.
[00:29:15] They're helping to raise funds.
[00:29:16] Baby, after Giselle gave her speech, was taking a photo, she saw those girls come in.
[00:29:23] Now, I don't agree with how Giselle handled it.
[00:29:25] But me, in that moment, I would have done the exact same thing.
[00:29:28] Oh, no, no, no, no, no, no, no.
[00:29:29] Thank you.
[00:29:30] You can go.
[00:29:31] Your services are no longer.
[00:29:33] No, no, no.
[00:29:33] Don't.
[00:29:34] You're disrespecting my father now.
[00:29:36] Stop playing in my face.
[00:29:39] Yeah, they shouldn't have come.
[00:29:40] So, they shouldn't have come.
[00:29:41] And when they saw her say, oh, no, no, no, they should have turned around.
[00:29:46] So, like, yeah, get out of here.
[00:29:48] And, I mean, she told you guys very explicitly, please do not come.
[00:29:54] Well, she said that in the text message.
[00:29:56] But then they talked to Ashley.
[00:29:58] So, this isn't just a G event.
[00:29:59] This is a G&A event.
[00:30:01] So, they did talk to Ashley.
[00:30:02] Ashley did say, get here by 8.
[00:30:04] They were able to get here by 8.
[00:30:05] But, again, it was like 8.
[00:30:07] 8.
[00:30:08] 5.
[00:30:08] I mean, be honest.
[00:30:11] So, just, you know what?
[00:30:12] When somebody is saying it's their event and they don't want you there, go home.
[00:30:17] Yeah, well, we'll see how it all plays out on next week's episode.
[00:30:20] But, yeah, I, yeah, I'm with Giselle on this.
[00:30:24] Like, because I don't play.
[00:30:25] First of all, when people say they're coming on my podcast and we give them a time and they,
[00:30:29] like, listen, hey, hey, hey, we can record another day.
[00:30:34] Are you?
[00:30:35] You, you, you, you refer to me because this is my podcast.
[00:30:39] When you come on my podcast, okay?
[00:30:42] You be ready.
[00:30:43] I'm not referring to you.
[00:30:44] When you come on my podcast, okay?
[00:30:46] I'm saying in general, not you.
[00:30:48] You, you are the grandson of the podcast, okay?
[00:30:52] I get to see my kids.
[00:30:54] I'm going to be there.
[00:30:55] Like, I might not be dressed.
[00:30:56] I might be a pro, but I'm going to be there, okay?
[00:30:59] You might be putting your kids to bed.
[00:31:01] You might be folding clothes and I might need a couple minutes, but I'm going to be there.
[00:31:06] No, no.
[00:31:07] But I'm just saying, like, not, this is not shot at you, I promise.
[00:31:12] But I am saying, and we're podcasting and stuff and different, like, I don't play about,
[00:31:17] my podcast is my baby.
[00:31:19] Like, I don't really, like, play.
[00:31:20] So it's like, I get what Giselle is saying.
[00:31:22] And especially not if it's dedicated to my father.
[00:31:25] And then they, y'all don't even know what award she's getting.
[00:31:28] What is the award that Karen is getting?
[00:31:31] I don't know.
[00:31:32] She don't know.
[00:31:33] Look, and she probably, and legend says she got slipped in there because a few other people
[00:31:37] couldn't make it.
[00:31:39] So, you know, yeah, that was one of the things.
[00:31:41] I know that Stacey meant well trying to split her time, but she was not doing anybody any favors.
[00:31:46] So I am really looking forward to seeing Stacey pick her face up off the ground.
[00:31:53] And I think this is a true introduction.
[00:31:55] Like, yeah, they, you, you tried to make the best out of it, but people didn't have your
[00:32:00] best interest in mind.
[00:32:02] You don't have a home?
[00:32:03] I have four homes.
[00:32:06] Okay.
[00:32:06] This is that type of introduction.
[00:32:08] And Stacey, welcome to the bunch.
[00:32:10] Well, thank you so much, Stacey, for taking the time out and recording with me on Real
[00:32:15] Housewives of Potomac, season nine, episode one and two.
[00:32:18] We'll be back in two weeks covering episode three and four.
[00:32:21] Yes.
[00:32:22] And it is October.
