[00:03:07] Honestly when you reached out and you were like which episode I picked episode 11 not really knowing

[00:03:14] What's in this episode so when I rewatched I was like oh this was the perfect

[00:03:20] Perfect episode to pick with the whole my ox is broken like one of the most iconic lines

[00:03:28] What is so crazy is that I this is my first time watching this season James

[00:03:33] And I have heard that and I'm like I don't know what Peter is talking about but I always pretend like I know I'm like

[00:03:41] Like after watching this episode I am screaming

[00:03:47] But listen James is all fun and games and we are so excited to have you

[00:03:51] But we have to get done a serious business and I feel like you know he is James is the person Brooke

[00:03:57] James is the person because one thing I know about James is that he is prepared

[00:04:03] He's ready and he doesn't play any games and I'm not I'm just saying I'm just saying the qualities that I know about James

[00:04:11] And also I here's another quality that I feel like don't know about James James is extremely tall

[00:04:20] Six one I am always surprised every time I'm around you James

[00:04:24] I am always surprised like I have to look up to you and will and I'm not short

[00:04:29] But that's just another fun fact about James is James is very tall

[00:04:33] We do get that quite a bit like I mean like reality be functioning bent to everyone's always like you guys are so much taller in person

[00:06:59] Yeah, it's just tough to say because of quit is a quit so you're forced your forcing Phil to come to you

[00:07:13] Was pushing the haybells like they never gave up to the point where Phil had to come to them

[00:07:19] I would say that with Marshall and Lance it's not really like you quit

[00:07:27] Because what I'm saying James is definition was when Phil comes to you in the field

[00:07:32] And you're eliminated on saying

[00:10:34] One team's gonna get lost right away. We have fears of heights. We have the yield finally being used and we have the best

[00:10:41] Deetor meltdown

[00:10:43] Maybe an amazing great history

[00:10:45] It was a detour that got turned into a roadblock because one team member just decided I'm not gonna participate

[00:10:50] This we're not gonna get my feet dirty because it's so deep calling

[00:10:54] And here we go. We have Colin and Christy who leave at 456 in the morning

[00:10:58] Linda and Karen in second place who knows what's gonna happen with them at 623

[00:11:03] Brandon Nicole James you should know this

[00:11:05] Brandon Nicole on a team of four. It's Brandon Nicole Jesus and Satan because they works. Oh, you know, it's okay

[00:11:11] And then shipping cam at 702 AM so you have about two hours and 15 minutes between team one and team four

[00:11:18] So to start the leg out the teams are driving to Auckland

[00:11:22] 220 miles and finding this marina and this yacht

[00:11:28] 212 220

[00:11:29] So we are

[00:11:31] That's the amount of miles that season 36 travel in total

[00:11:36] Yes

[00:11:38] And we said in front of Rick and Sacer space and they appreciate it because it's not their fault. They didn't plan the room

[00:11:43] They just nailed everything that they could

[00:11:46] Yeah

[00:11:46] Whatever so what I love about this season is it's drive on ton of miles to a boat find the boat

[00:11:53] Hold out a thingy and you don't have to do anything that's just your next clue with the extra amount of things

[00:11:57] That they have to do this season is so great

[00:11:59] Because it's not just go somewhere to a task go somewhere to a class check it

[00:12:03] So yeah, I love that there's so many more

[00:12:05] I also like with the old school seasons where like they obviously ended the previous leg in New Zealand

[00:12:14] But they're starting the leg still in New Zealand doing some task and then halfway through

[00:12:20] Flying to another country like to me the race was so much harder back then like I can't even imagine just

[00:12:26] Distressed an anxiety with traveling mid-leg to a completely different country and like 11 hours

[00:12:33] You're playing mid-leg it's not even like something short. It was I think Linda was like well, that was a quick 11 hours

[00:12:39] And then driving right into doing tasks so it's like they're not in a respiratory

[00:12:43] No, there's no resting rest is for the week

[00:12:45] So what I do love while yeah at the start of this when we get people's confessional like and I was a little nervous because I didn't believe it because all season

[00:12:55] Chips has not been serious

[00:12:57] I love that at the start of this episode ship is like we're getting serious. We're not playing now. I'm watching it like

[00:13:04] Tell another lot, shit because everything that we have seen thus far

[00:13:09] You're the nice guy you're the fun one, but this episode didn't disappoint and so I love in the new

[00:13:16] season the newer seasons of amazing race. They love the foreshadow and so I'm like

[00:13:22] y'all are really foreshadowing because shit wasn't shipper this episode. This was the first foreshadow

[00:13:27] You know, I don't know if that's shit's probably not true

[00:13:29] Anyway Colin and Chris Dere in their car talking about everybody else sucks like they blatantly are like the other teams suck

[00:13:35] We're amazing Linda and Karen

[00:13:38] I don't know what was going on with Linda and Karen here, but they

[00:13:41] Jennifer like five yeah, they really

[00:13:44] Yeah, I think Karen was coming around inside the best

[00:13:48] Linda and Karen were not bickering

[00:13:50] Linda was

[00:13:52] No Karen was bickering Linda was driving and Karen's like I don't know where we're going

[00:13:56] She's like just give me the map. I can't do both which and this is like what I can't drive

[00:14:00] I can't drive and never get well she can't I actually am team Linda on this one because then Linda's like

[00:14:06] Well, then where do we go and Karen's like I don't know Linda like a little bit snippy from

[00:14:10] They were okay, but they got a rip pretty fast so you watch season 36 right? I did

[00:14:16] Rod and Littisha yeah

[00:14:19] Did she she was always supposed to be navigate and but was she she navigate in?

[00:14:25] I don't know what that has to do with the price of eggs. I'm saying like this is

[00:14:29] What I am saying is

[00:14:31] Karen no James because she's not funny Karen was a little cluster

[00:14:35] She couldn't get it and then Linda's like

[00:14:38] What are we doing?

[00:14:39] She she struggled sometimes when navigating but Rod never cheated. She liked that that's all I'm saying

[00:14:44] Okay, oh, one

[00:14:46] It makes you wonder like if there were something that happened that morning that because it felt very out of flesh killed for me

[00:14:53] Because I love the bowling mom so when I'm under my favorite

[00:14:59] Stupid love when I saw that moment I was like wait a minute

[00:15:02] Like this is not the bowling mom's that I like remember and like love but they're hatched with something

[00:15:06] Starting the morning rough for these two yeah

[00:15:10] I was here for Linda when she pulled the car oh for oh yeah

[00:15:14] Give me the man

[00:15:16] She was like I'll do it like I was like okay Linda I like I was here for Linda in that moment because

[00:15:23] You get frustrated. It's like what do you want me to do so although I don't agree with her

[00:15:28] I do agree with her just call me chip because I'm back of course

[00:15:31] I didn't even write on page two. Okay, goodbye

[00:15:36] Where is what somebody else talk don't they go to boats didn't I not write them? Maybe I'm just out of order

[00:15:42] So they had the drive to go to the boat

[00:15:46] Pull down to get the clue and I believe that the clue said that you're going to mending the look yeah

[00:15:51] Is it the robot going into the branch so yeah have strong arms have strong legs and have no fear of heights

[00:15:57] It's so funny to me that like random opens the clue and the cold like you're doing it chip opens the clue and Kim's like obviously you and

[00:16:04] Chip is like what is it like doesn't matter it's you like it's just so funny to me

[00:16:09] Collin and Chrissy get their first

[00:16:11] He starts climbing the thing he's not afraid of anything to walk across the catwalk thing like it's the middle of the road like you know

[00:16:18] I would have been true my lags would have been so like you would have been a champion where he was like oh

[00:16:23] Yeah, I would have been hyper ventilating for sure

[00:16:27] I don't mind heights heights don't really do it for me, but Collin was like

[00:16:32] Mosey like he did there was no fear whatsoever and then you just like normal to walk like a hundred and 75

[00:16:37] I think he would have died of to go off the thing they could have gone head first yeah like he was very into it

[00:16:45] I don't know if it was because it's like non HD it's in VHS

[00:16:50] mode where I'm trying to I was watching and I'm like where are the safety cables like they

[00:16:56] It was hard for me to see exactly where the cables were because that was extremely high and

[00:17:05] It looked far like I was surprised that Noah actually fell

[00:17:11] Yeah, I guess that's fair. I mean and the wind like the wind because when we had to do that on our season

[00:17:17] And we were 180 feet about the same as the harbor bridge and the wind up there is crazy so

[00:17:23] Yeah, like that I would assume the wind would cause a little bit of off balance or something

[00:17:27] Or just the fear and then pee in your center. I think it might have been a little bit wider than we were giving it credit for it

[00:17:34] There in our ship is his feet next to each other were just like

[00:17:37] He had a little bit of it. It was an HD and you would see like it's like we would see

[00:17:41] If he had it with a VHS it was a little fuzzy however have you guys ever been on a bridge

[00:17:47] And it's windy and you're driving and you can feel the wind yeah kind of shift your car

[00:17:53] Yeah, so then it's like imagine stand like so like how was the wind not a factor for any of them

[00:18:00] The only thing I can think is because it was below that there was like a hangover in of the bridge on the side of perhaps they were protected a bit

[00:18:06] But I don't know we may have to find someone and we may have to ask them a call calling

[00:18:11] I can't call it what do I think I'm doing

[00:18:13] Anyway, we're at an Nicole get their second she's all my boyfriend so hot and blah blah whatever. He's not wrong

[00:18:21] Yeah, yeah, so anyway he is not a fan of heights but she doesn't give him the options and not do it so he's doing it

[00:18:30] And then Linda chip gets their third and he's my favorite. He's like blood of Jesus

[00:18:36] I'm like chip Jesus is not on your team. He's on Brandon scene so you're afraid they're on

[00:18:41] But that's fine and finally Linda gets there because the bowling moms have gotten lost clearly nobody knew how to read a map because whatever

[00:18:49] But chip does say if the bowling moms are able to do this, they're gonna win this whole damn race

[00:18:53] And maybe that's for shadow and Bryce doesn't know you haven't seen the next one

[00:18:56] You don't know who wins this damn thing so

[00:18:58] And by the way, and spoiler alert of this episode. I just after last week's episode james. I just knew

[00:19:06] The bowling moms wanted it. I also feel like we are not talking enough about how hard it has to be to climb up that ladder

[00:19:16] Like 175 feet like that's that's not gonna be like two minutes like that's gonna take a minute to get up

[00:19:23] And it's like the string ladder. It's not like it's like you got to I think it was 75 feet

[00:19:29] I mean either way, it's a lot but maybe you're right maybe it is 100. That's a lot. That's like 17

[00:19:34] So maybe it was 75 and I don't know triggered by

[00:19:39] And at this moment though when chip when chip sees the bowling moms coming and chip is saying

[00:19:46] If they can do it, they would win the race and

[00:19:49] I stand up in my bed and I was like I'm right the bowling moms win because

[00:19:55] They complete the task

[00:19:59] I felt for Linda Linda was really cute when she finished. She's like kind can I sit? Are you sure I'm not gonna die like and then she

[00:20:06] Lean soft and she's looking all Peter pan and they're back being best friends again like I don't know what happened in that card

[00:20:11] But whatever it was they get over it quickly, which I appreciate they can be here for a hot second

[00:20:16] Then they're back to being best friends so the next clue says fly to Manila in the Philippines 5,000 miles

[00:20:23] So in the middle of a leg let's just do a quick you know really long flight and travel to this

[00:20:29] motor

[00:20:30] I don't know Malaguina. I'm gonna miss for now. It's at motor hot for your next clue

[00:20:37] I'll tell me your hot take is yeah when I flew out to survivor 28 we flew into the Philippines

[00:20:44] So I was lucky. I've taken that 11 13 hour flight before so you know, I don't have an amazing race

[00:20:52] Q car behind me, but I got Manila in my heart

[00:20:57] Yes

[00:20:58] Love Manila

[00:21:00] Not been so maybe I have to put it on my list of places to go and or maybe if there's ever a winner season then

[00:21:08] They'll take us there and James and I will be in an alliance

[00:22:31] Survivor Winners at War. Like don't you feel like it's only appropriate that

[00:22:34] they would do an all-winner season?

[00:22:37] Yeah, I think that we're all hopeful that that would be a thing. I think a victory

[00:22:41] lap season would just be exciting. Even if I was never on the show and if I had

[00:22:44] never won, I as a fan would be like the real to see that because I loved

[00:22:48] it with Survivor and it worked. I think it just depends on how the next

[00:22:52] couple of seasons go and kind of what the

[00:22:56] network and the producers are thinking. Because I only want

[00:22:59] team has ever been invited back that was a winner and that's

[00:23:02] you channel enjoys. So it's like

[00:23:04] No, I guess you don't really like winners. I feel like so we'll see we'll see

[00:23:07] I'm hopeful. I know Brooks hope that a lot of winners are hopeful

[00:23:11] so we'll only time will tell.

[00:23:14] I know I'm excited. Okay, so call on and Christie go to the airport.

[00:23:18] They get on a flag. Have a flight that's leaving in 20 minutes.

[00:23:20] That flight's delayed just a little bit but they feel so lucky.

[00:23:23] They get on the flight. They're going to get in so much earlier than everybody else.

[00:23:26] Everything is amazing. The other three teams get to the airport and they have to go

[00:23:31] on a flight to Hong Kong instead of going through on a Singapore and

[00:23:36] they're not getting to Manila until the next morning. But calling Christie

[00:23:40] are supposed to get through the same night. Long story short, too late.

[00:23:44] Calling and Christie's second flight ends up they can't get on it because their first

[00:23:47] flight is too late and they end up having to go to Hong Kong to get there in the next

[00:23:51] morning. They think they're over. They think they're out of it.

[00:23:54] My favorite thing that happens is episode is they go to the

[00:23:57] airport and call on and call and they go and sleep.

[00:24:00] Everybody else. And anything's everywhere.

[00:24:02] Okay, this is like huge snoring. I think it's snoring. I found very relaxing.

[00:24:06] It was anyway. The other three teams are sleeping in a different area of the airport.

[00:24:10] In the morning they all come together at the gate. Everyone's so excited to see

[00:24:14] everybody else because calling and Christie, you know, they're not last.

[00:24:17] The other team's know they're not first and it's just a really good editing moment.

[00:24:20] Like because I'm glad they didn't see each other until we get as opposed to the night before.

[00:24:24] Because that's a little bit less fun. Oh, no. That's a few.

[00:24:27] I think in that moment, Christie was like, or she was saying, like, I don't it's hard to tell

[00:24:33] if the teams are actually excited to see us or are they like relieved that is like,

[00:24:37] bitch, you're not in front of us. So that was fun moment. And again, I love this in the older

[00:24:43] seasons where so much of the drama comes from just like technicalities that you can't control.

[00:24:50] Yeah. And I think that's a huge element of the show that's missed on the most like recent

[00:24:56] seasons and like, I feel like that's why these earlier seasons were so insane because you

[00:25:03] would love a team and then something happens with like a fight or something that's out of their

[00:25:08] control and then they're eliminated. So there's just a little bit more of an unpredictability factor

[00:25:12] there. I'm sorry. Good. No, go ahead. I think that's another reason that like season 40 if it's

[00:25:18] in the end, I think that would be so interesting because the people who won back in the day

[00:25:22] when the race was, I mean, all a great harder are now going to be 20 years older. Now some

[00:25:28] of them were 20 at the time. So they're basically my age now. But the people who are newer

[00:25:34] who are a little bit younger in their winning didn't have to deal with so much. So the question is,

[00:25:41] do you favor the teams that had to do so much more to get what they were going? But they now

[00:25:45] don't have the age of anage anymore? Or do you favor the newer teams who were a bit younger,

[00:25:50] probably in a little bit better shape, but didn't have to work so hard because imagine some of

[00:25:56] these teams on season five they'd be like shell shocked of the amount of stuff that needed to be

[00:26:00] done to win a leg. So I think that do season 40 all winners be so interesting. In the middle

[00:26:06] by always I know people love like records and statistics that I'm like the race is so different

[00:26:13] in single season that like you cannot compare apples to oranges with the shell. Like you just can't.

[00:26:18] Every season the leg design, the route, the luck variability is like it's just so different

[00:26:24] every season that it's hard to say who is the best team overall because every season so different.

[00:26:51] almost on season 40 and just you know I'm not with the statistics but I do believe on season 40

[00:26:57] someone from season 28 one a second time and so it leaves me to believe that those seasons around

[00:27:07] 27 28 29 30 31 when more than likely on. Sorry, 32 yeah those seasons would be at a higher level

[00:27:23] of potentially so when. Preach it and I'm not biased although I know the elimination is.

[00:27:31] You do okay so anyway all the teams get in cabs to go to this motor place.

[00:27:36] Chip and Kim immediately made friends with their cab driver Brandon and a coal past chip and

[00:27:41] Kim and they have this exchange for this moment because they know the yield is coming up and

[00:27:45] Brandon and a coal lending care and shipping can have all decided we're going to yield them.

[00:27:49] This is the moment like there's nothing else left why okay so here's where I have a huge issue.

[00:27:56] So chip and Kim branded Christy and Brandon Nikki Jesus and say they pass each other they're like

[00:28:03] yield them and this is where I got pissed off because when we got to the yield right it wasn't

[00:28:11] like James got there 20 minutes later broke that there five minutes later I got there it seemed like

[00:28:18] the bowling moms chip and Kim and Brandon saying Jesus and Nikki were all on the mat.

[00:28:28] I'm clear that for you know I can clear it up because I know you're annoying.

[00:28:31] I was pissed off because I know chip and Kim you're doing the most why are you also hate to

[00:28:36] yield left these other teams yield down because Kim is the shit and I'll tell you why you can't

[00:28:41] do anything until your entire team is there so yes Brandon was there but Nikki was slower and you

[00:28:45] have a little bit. But step off the mountain then what God forbid somebody changes their mind

[00:28:51] and they yield shipping can because they're just as I don't think that would have happened but

[00:28:57] shipping came were the first complete team on the mat so they had the opportunity first

[00:29:01] they could have said we're not doing it and left to the other two but you know what take

[00:29:04] that chance they all you know who cares at this point although ship I think felt really really bad

[00:29:09] well you could see in his face where he's like I can't even look at them. But also it's like

[00:29:13] you all agreed to do it and like if chip and Kim got there and they were like we're not going

[00:29:17] to do it then I think the other two teams would be like why so like I thought they really had no other

[00:29:22] option but they had one other option the other option which would have been very cool is if all three

[00:29:28] teams put their picture of the courtesy on the bottom to get there. Now what have been so I can't

[00:29:33] I think that would have been I don't know if the producers would have allowed it but at least

[00:29:36] they all got there at the same time I think of all three pictures of the bottom that's the only thing

[00:29:41] I would have made college on all that of his dad exactly. I would have been like put your picture

[00:29:46] up too like don't be a loser like just do it with me. I think that would have been great.

[00:29:51] The even funnier part of that is and I have to remember that it's 2004 but I still feel like

[00:29:55] this is a TV show and the production budget is very high. Why are the photo images

[00:30:02] it looked like somebody just printed them out at the library and cut them out because they're

[00:30:06] barely in color. It looks like half the chip at him is in color and they're little photo

[00:30:12] like clip at the bottom I was like they look like you're just green grabs of the end right

[00:30:17] the photos like the intro and they're like for us like we literally took it on the knife

[00:30:23] bone and they looked amazing. I was like can I get that after the show because the

[00:30:27] picture of photo was taken on iPhone? No, our U-turn photos were taken on the

[00:30:33] arms were taken on the camera. I was like I need a copy. James, yours was taken on an iPhone.

[00:30:40] Brooke, yours was taken on a Nokia. Arms was taken on a real camera camera they took us around.

[00:30:47] The thing was, the thing was ours were taken, how did that work?

[00:30:52] Ours were taken individually and then they were matched together because ours were taken before we

[00:30:57] started the race and we didn't know our partner yet so our pictures were matched up together.

[00:31:01] Our credit little credit picture video thing was taken at the end of the race

[00:31:07] because we didn't know our partners at the beginning of the race so you can tell if you look closely

[00:31:11] the teams that lasted the longest because we love raggedess hell in our like beginning credits

[00:31:17] thing anyway. This is the moment the heels is used. Chipie team is I'm so excited the best

[00:31:25] part is it's used and it's right there. All the teams are doing their thing. Linden, Karen,

[00:31:31] snacks to the bowling moms because moms can do anything and they put together all their kids toys

[00:31:36] and all that crap are the first ones help. She think Kim show up. Sorry, Colin and Christie show up.

[00:31:43] They think they're in first place. They may think we're Chris he's like you think everyone's behind us

[00:31:46] right and then they get there and she's like they use it. They use it if looks could kill.

[00:31:51] I'm not a assassinated because Colin's look he's I don't think he really should yes that's it

[00:31:59] that's the look that one right there terrifying that's terrifying actually press that terrifying okay

[00:32:05] that's it's the fact that in the clips that they show of chip and I don't know if it's editing

[00:32:10] or not but the fact that you don't see chip look over his shoulder and all it is now although Colin

[00:32:20] is a lot I'm not mad if I'm Colin I'm giving you that same exact energy in that moment.

[00:32:27] I think I would have been yelling I think I'm off his game yelling that's not the right spot

[00:32:58] fact that like finally the game is being played and I only took a lot right it only took 11

[00:33:04] legs and 3,000,000 37 miles later but I think that Colin and Chris you're like well we've not

[00:33:13] played the game like this I can't believe that first of all they keep saying that every time

[00:33:17] they go past the yield Colin and Chris you're like we're not top we're not playing that type of

[00:33:21] game well bitch I don't care what type of game you're playing but it's here for us to use

[00:33:27] that you would alize it like you're the top team to be what did you expect that we were going to be like

[00:33:49] together their jeep me and the jeep me has a dragon like 40 some odd miles it's not like

[00:33:57] jeep me drivers seem to know where they're going so linen Karen finished first ran into Nicole

[00:34:01] Jesus and say in finish second shipping can finish third he cannot even look up their car goes

[00:34:06] by and he's like I feel so ashamed and I'm saying don't feel ashamed you did the right you did it right

[00:34:10] he is just a teacher moving away it pains it's there for a reason you used to

[00:34:19] better better than the new that's what I'm saying you know right but I will say I do feel like

[00:34:25] Colin's staring directly into chip and Kim's soul worked because chip and Kim I'm yelling at

[00:34:32] me like what are y'all doing hurry up like they're kind of I really feel like that pressure of

[00:34:38] Colin right there really slowed them down even y'all should have been able to figure that out a

[00:34:43] lot this I do wonder if it had been branded in Nicole or Linda and Karen who ended up using

[00:34:52] the yield what Collins response would have been because this Colin I feel like chip and Kim

[00:34:57] and then had a good relationship throughout the race and I think they were kind of taken

[00:35:01] back because like you're saying chip is so chipper and like I don't I think it was very

[00:35:06] an unassuming like whoa like we never would have assumed chip and Kim would have yielded us I think

[00:35:11] well don't underestimate chip and Kim that's all I'm saying and the fine good relationship right

[00:35:17] because it's like we see last year like this year too we see real acts like last episode

[00:35:22] your hot on the plane faster than chip and Kim because like so yeah but I do also feel like it's

[00:35:29] Colin so Colin would have been pissed at anybody that's there like I love the ball I can't believe

[00:36:13] venting to the jeep knee driver like we've been healed it and I'm like this guy

[00:36:49] at this very moment I understood the Colin and Christie dynamic because up until now I'm like

[00:37:04] a pregnant mom a grandma and two kids are crossing the street right over you don't care just

[00:37:11] you don't matter what matters is getting to the giant duck doing Hong Kong whatever not okay

[00:37:26] situation was I felt like the concern that we got from Colin was that it seemed like the driver

[00:37:33] was following Christie's orders yeah I really felt like it probably didn't intervene

[00:37:40] he was going to run on people over look it's not your fault with the driver listens okay so

[00:37:45] the teams get to the duck lending care they are them random occulties and saying shipping

[00:37:49] came in Colin and Christie are less and we're there we were at the world best task it's not

[00:37:55] even a great task that's the thing the task is not meant to be like this iconic task like

[00:38:00] but it's a really hard right so this is it like say with me my ox is broken this it like Colin

[00:38:10] melt down but you know what in rewatching it all right I don't really think it's Colin's fault

[00:38:16] so I'm gonna say it I'm not team Colin I'm team ox because this poor ox was not treated super

[00:38:22] well so again I'm team animal a hundred percent of the time so for anyone who didn't watch it

[00:38:27] because it's amazing but the detour which one team cheats is a roadblock is repeat detour is

[00:38:33] plow or foul and in foul it doesn't matter because nobody does it you have to hurt a thousand

[00:38:38] one thousand ducks like 150 feet from one pen to another now I I understand why nobody did that

[00:38:46] because ducks will fly and hurting ducks sounds no right no but Nicole said let's do the ducks

[00:38:55] and then Brandon's all we're not gonna do that we're gonna do this one which Brandon

[00:39:00] good on you because I think it would have been a different outcome if he tried to do the ducks

[00:39:05] so Brandon and Nicole get there first they do the right thing we're Nicole is leading the ox

[00:39:10] and Brandon is walking behind and that way they know where they're going and they work in a

[00:39:14] grid and they find it in about eight seconds because Jesus says it's over here and there it is and

[00:39:19] find Linda and Karen get there they both work with the ox and Linda finds it maybe in 10 minutes

[00:39:26] like they're pretty fast shipping Kim gets there chip and Kim gets there and they all chip

[00:39:32] is moving way too fast for Kim Kim has gotten into the mud which can be in Carly thought she would

[00:39:36] never do but she does it and she doesn't complain although I don't think she's thrilled about it

[00:39:40] and chip actually finds it from the front of the ox and they're out of there as Colin and Chris

[00:39:45] you're showing up. Chris didn't understand the assignment because this is a detour she does not

[00:39:51] get in the pen so Colin is having to like guide the ox and work the plow which is not really

[00:39:58] humanly possible which leads to maybe the best moment and amazing rates history where he has

[00:40:04] the biggest hissing fit over this ox and my favorite part is Christine from the sidelines being like

[00:40:10] why are you doing it right like why can't you figure this out go over there like what do you

[00:40:15] do from the mud. Right what I can't really do anything from over here what do you want me to do about it

[00:40:19] and Colin's like get in she's like but it's deep and I like okay get in the mud nobody else is

[00:40:25] drowning get in the mud. I would like to hear your takes on the world's best

[00:40:34] detour. Yeah I mean I pay animal tasks for a lot of different things but the main thing being

[00:40:40] animals are unpredictable like you really aren't in control like you are at the back and call

[00:40:46] of the animal if it's going to be successful or not so anytime we were at a detour and it was

[00:40:51] either something animal related or not animal related we never did the animal task because it's

[00:40:56] like well they're having a bad day we don't have control over that. If they're having a trip day yeah

[00:41:03] but yeah this is one of the most like memorable and iconic scenes in the history of the amazing

[00:41:09] race and to like flash forward to season 31 and just seeing the evolution of Colin and Kristi from

[00:41:15] this particular moment is honestly so sweet like I love how far they come and their relationship

[00:41:23] their understanding of the world there were spectra each like it's just a night and day different

[00:41:29] it's like I'm watching this like this is not the same common. No I don't know what um you know

[00:41:35] I don't judge. I people I I don't know if there was like a medication and something where like

[00:41:42] I don't know if it's monstrous and yoga and someone's found their spirituality I don't know what it is

[00:41:47] but whatever it is worked because the new person that comes back is so much more well equipped

[00:41:55] to like run the world and it's just like a better version of themselves and that's really really great

[00:42:01] I mean all of this in the most positive way possible. I hear that I always hear people saying that

[00:42:06] whenever they talk about Colin and Kristi on their second season but let me ask you how this was

[00:42:10] were they as fun to watch? No I don't think so. James um

[00:42:19] I think what the only thing that made them fun to watch is the fact that it was like a completely different

[00:42:24] team like it was just like so wasn't even like okay it was like this is a completely new team

[00:42:29] that we're watching race for the first time. Also the secret is not as good so maybe that's why

[00:42:34] it didn't make them as fun to watch season five is so good that anywhere else like it just was a

[00:42:39] little lackluster in general I think but yeah James is right it wasn't where they as fun to watch

[00:42:46] I don't think so but also they were not the same team so it was like I was watching the show

[00:42:52] them was for fun but it didn't it made it didn't mean it was like fun to watch because like that's fair

[00:42:57] well you kind of like meltdowns do like I was waiting they even brace they even put a task in

[00:43:03] with a cow on purpose so that when Colin gets there he has to calmly be like all right let me

[00:43:10] pick the cow that's looking at me and looks the best like they they they they tried they did whatever

[00:43:15] they could just try and trick her up. She had him didn't work man had grown up like he

[00:43:19] now they should have done a switch back to vanilla and done this detour again but not it's not

[00:43:26] making a detour make it a roadblock. That would have been great television. I would have tuned in for

[00:43:37] that many many many times okay so their Colin has lost his mind Christy has lost the ability

[00:43:45] to help many way shape or form and then everyone else so they have to go to the coconut palace

[00:43:51] and vanilla is their checkpoint pit stop right it's not what's the name of this podcast okay

[00:43:55] pit stop so the thing is this you can't take a cab from where you are you have to get out of bus all

[00:44:01] of the teams are smart enough to realize at some point we need to get in the cab Colin and Chrissy

[00:44:06] I think are the first to realize this yes we'll get on this bus but as soon as we can we're getting

[00:44:09] out and that makes the editing so good here because at what point did you get out of the bus what

[00:44:15] points did you get off the bus the interesting thing for me is Brandon and Nicole getting a cab

[00:44:20] Jesus is hanging from the rear of your mirror which is amazing so you know they're going to be

[00:44:24] fine because you know Jesus has officially taken the wheel right you have linen and carrot

[00:44:30] you get off the same bus but they can't find a cab so Linda is high pitch squealing for a cab

[00:44:35] care and so we also talk about girl it's not like James I'm saying get off the bus on 12 and 13

[00:44:42] and get a cab they in the middle of a highway

[00:44:48] and the way that is chaotic like it's yeah it's crazy

[00:44:54] they need that whistle charlie me I would have had no problem friends because they've got that whistle

[00:44:59] and you know charlie with throw yourself in front of a cab to get that thing to stop they would not

[00:45:04] mirror what have been like my friend get out of the cab I need this to have sheep they would have

[00:45:09] no issue but that is them and whatever they wouldn't even got a cab they would have just pulled

[00:45:12] some regular person over and they'd be like my friend is in labor she didn't know

[00:45:16] she has this a way man let me say you couldn't hijack a car I really feel like they might

[00:45:21] have hijacked a car so shipping camera offering more money their cab driver if they get their

[00:45:25] fast calling is literally throwing 20s and his cab driver who says the speed limit is 100

[00:45:31] but I guess that means we just have to break the law which is amazing which makes

[00:45:35] Christie so happy because I'm out behind we'll be feeling at the cab drivers 20s

[00:45:42] only he had this thing and it's right they would have been far ahead at this point but

[00:45:49] in the Philippines he's going to throw 20s and after get it's principal the man is a very

[00:45:53] principal man he has decided you can't drive me on a donut I you don't have a spare you don't get your

[00:45:59] spare oh my god my k-doctor suit come on woo woo I lost my mind okay anyway shipping

[00:46:09] cam gets the coconut palace first they went at ship to Hawaii they would be happy being

[00:46:14] third they had no idea they were in the front so shipping cam first place linden

[00:46:18] Karen second place they were beside themselves excited Brandon called Jesus and Satan

[00:46:24] it's solid third and bringing up the rear and I will say this there are too many non-alemination

[00:46:29] legs in this season of the race because this is ridiculous the final non-alemination where Phil says

[00:46:34] you will start the next leg with no money and I say liar because I love Phil but no because

[00:46:41] common and Christie gets to do the exact same thing that Brandon and Nicole did and during the

[00:46:44] pit stop yet to go and beg people in a hotel for money so no they did not start the next leg

[00:46:49] with no money they actually started the leg with I believe more money than everybody else but

[00:46:54] I digress that's another argument for another day the end wow yeah I I didn't love this not

[00:47:01] being a non-alemination race I wish that like we would have saw more non-alemination rounds in the

[00:47:07] beginning like we're saving them for like the final three episodes which makes it really really

[00:47:12] really really good to watch but I also feel like towards the end I just feel like it's a rule

[00:47:18] but what do you want to say it's a lot of work that was donnie and Erica was that a team

[00:47:22] like were they there for five Alice and Andani I don't know someone in Erica you don't even remember

[00:47:26] who cares you don't want to save them you want to say you want Colin and Christie in your final

[00:47:30] episode so I'm not mad about that right is a lot of non-alemination like just scooched out there

[00:47:37] it was more like four to her it's a lot. We had two and I think like two is like a lot to do.

[00:47:43] We had two and to keep racing so it was technically it was like three but two and okay and it was legs

[00:47:50] keep racing was like five and then seven and nine seven and nine were not elimation likes

[00:47:58] and that's fine because then there was still 10-11, 10-11 you got you got kicked out and so

[00:48:03] and the people who got kicked out were not so puppy anyway. What random random fact because I'm just

[00:48:15] non-alemination like or three back to back non-alemination legs or a global pandemic happens

[00:48:23] and you come back and just a random team from before because another team dropped out and the

[00:48:29] random team is back in the race. I feel like we can't vote for pandemic. I feel like in good

[00:48:33] conscience I can't vote for pandemic although three back to back non-alemations has never happened

[00:48:38] and I think that would be really it's a climactic for television. I'm not voting for pandemic.

[00:48:44] I just vote for two non-aleminations. The whole non-alemination makes it more predictable to me

[00:48:51] and that is a great finish so it would be nice if they threw like one or two back in in these

[00:48:58] future seasons but four is just too much. And they had two that were back there were two

[00:49:04] things in a row that were not elimination. I'm like yeah that I don't know space them out

[00:49:10] keep it until three episodes left so like I feel like with the two back to back

[00:49:16] right when they had the first like when they had those yeah there were only a few episodes left

[00:49:19] and you know there's one more you have to know you're almost at the end although it'd be interesting

[00:49:23] to know if they knew beforehand how many legs of the race their would be because I don't know if

[00:49:28] still told me at the beginning there'd be four non-alemination like maybe they think I don't know

[00:49:32] they just went to the Philippines and they think they're happened another stop before they

[00:49:35] had back to I mean they are they're going to Canada they don't even go right back to the

[00:49:39] U.S. In the next leg they still do two countries like this season is bonkers like they never

[00:49:45] stopped never stop stopping like it's so good and the change has ended up in the they are

[00:49:52] still in it they may win it you don't know I mean you don't know I know James knows

[00:49:57] it's real I can't price is gonna call me when you watch us the last one and I cannot

[00:50:42] but it's one of my favorite seasons like we're guard list of the outcome like it's just like

[00:50:47] a sweet not like this season five is one of the top seasons for a reason so many iconic teams

[00:50:54] some that should have gotten to race twice that didn't um I just season five is great it's iconic

[00:51:02] and yeah I love free-kepping this episode with y'all because the yield was then it first time

[00:51:07] I was ever played an amazing registry yeah so wait was it in the before this but no one

[00:51:13] ever played it no this was the first season that introduced the yield but uh Chippin came

[00:51:19] the first team to ever use it in the US version and then it came back for like six seven eight

[00:51:29] nine and season 11 you guys haven't we didn't have it and then it stopped up until our season

[00:51:35] and then our season yeah you did have it because they twisted the format of the yield where we

[00:51:40] had the hour glasses and some more ten minutes, some more 20 but these were all I think 30 minute yield

[00:51:51] I just know that the way they did it on our season made it different because I'm like 10 minutes isn't that

[00:51:56] like but if it was higher minutes it would have I think people would have played a more.

[00:52:40] back a lot of the twists from amazing races like vault and it's going to be applied every

[00:52:47] leg which I think they need after 36 nothing against that season but I do think that they needed

[00:52:53] to revamp 37 so it didn't feel so linear and it feels so predictable and shake up the

[00:53:00] placements a little bit. So I'm excited and honestly it would have been a great twist for an all

[00:53:05] her season. Yes and maybe it's so watch this after all this they'll be in all winter season

[00:53:11] and Ricky and Saiser who I think could win anything but people on the internet because people are

[00:53:16] rooted like they didn't have to work hard they had so many advantages love love and ever

[00:53:19] they come in and mop the floor with all of us with like every twist in turn except maybe not

[00:53:25] the two of us will have to work with them and then before we go James to my heart to every

[00:53:34] team the older seasons during your season I was an internet warrior for you because I felt like

[00:53:40] so many people during you and will season they're like it's not so minor they're working

[00:53:46] hang on there and so I was new to amazing race at that point in the time and I'm like why are

[00:53:51] you all mad because my baby boys know how to play the game like what's up and it's so crazy to see

[00:53:58] season like like so rhyming sample chip and cam Brandon and Nicole like right like we're

[00:54:06] gonna yield like we're gonna yield to hit a plan in place like if that happened in modern

[00:54:10] amazing race that would be like a bro or on social media like I mean they need to get all right

[00:54:15] a lot of been there since the big get there like and honestly they make it more interesting like

[00:54:21] they make it more fun like you want and as a player yeah of course you want to align with

[00:54:26] people and help each other I mean we had teams we were working with and teams that we weren't

[00:54:30] working with and that's part of the game you need to keep yourself in it like as the older

[00:54:34] person and like not the fastest or the strongest like you bet your ass I'm gonna be the friendly

[00:54:39] isdom gonna make friends with you don't want to let me go yes the race is very much

[00:54:46] a social race more than I think viewers get to see because there's so much down time at the
