And we have from Survivor Season, Season 47, Rome joins us this week and we are breaking down all things Episode 2. We're talking about this Beware, Idol, the Journey, the Challenge, Tribal Council and oh so much more.

We out here. It's good to be back. It's good to have this guest in the building. We are fresh off of L.A. We were all in the building. I'm sure we'll get to that. Thank you for having me. Yes. Yes. Jackery, I felt like I seen you last night.

[00:03:14] Then you ghosted me and now you're here again. What's popping with you, Jack? What's up? No ghosting occurred last night. Just a little bit tired. Had to get home. Had to wake up bright and early for work today. But yeah, last night was a great time. Excited to be here to recap the episode that we all got to sort of watch together last night. And we got a great guest for it too. So very, very, very pop. So, yes.

Me and Q definitely both had big impacts on our seasons. I lasted half the episodes. I never asked to quit. You know what I'm saying? Like, let's we really talk about it. You know what I'm saying? I didn't ask to leave. And people was like, no, we're keeping you around. No, if I asked to leave ever, I was gone. I was out of there. That wouldn't have happened.

[00:05:39] Let's just get that straight. Okay. So, and we talk about the T-Move. We talk about the T-Move Q. But, you know, we had Q on last week. We seen those numbers. So, I know why y'all called me. Because, you know, y'all had to boost it up a little bit. You know what I'm saying? We had to boost up. Wait, wait, wait, wait. Now, wait, wait, wait. [00:07:06] Before things came, we had a lot of time. And we've done a lot of talking about Rome. So he's finally here. He can represent himself. And I know he can hold his own. So here we are. You know? We got to look the man in his eyes now. You know? See, this is my home right here. See, I'm an esports commentator. I'm used to the mic in front of me. The webcam. Talking right into the webcam. You know what I'm saying? I'm used to this. You know what I'm saying? I was made for this. So this is a little bit of my domain that y'all walking into right now. That's all I'm saying.

[00:07:37] Okay, listen. We're in Rome's home. Okay? Well, I am super excited now. We are getting off super hot. And I'm ready to get into this episode. But last night, the BWP48 pulled on into L.A. And L.A. definitely did its thing. The rain doesn't stop. A Bryson Wynn present event. Okay? We still move. We still shake. It was amazing. So much fun. Rome was there. It was some puddles outside.

[00:08:07] Rome had to jump over the puddles. All right, we just go be roasting all night. We just go be roasting all night. It was a drop of water. And Rome had to get a running start. And Rome was like, I had to jump over that. Jack and I just went. Oh, man. How did everyone enjoy the event?

[00:08:37] What was it like? What was it like? For the event, for everyone. For me, seeing Phillip Shepard in the building was just like the legend himself. It was crazy. But love to hear what you, Rome, Jack, what y'all thought. I mean, so my thoughts, like, honestly, last night was awesome. Even though, like, you know, it was a little bit loud in the building. You know, that's what happens when you get so many passionate Survivor fans. Is that, you know, with also so many alumni. And like, there was like amazing race people there.

[00:09:06] And just like, so many people in the CBS family. Big brother people there. Like, and, you know, anytime you get that many people together, it's going to be, it's going to be, it's going to be rowdy. And it was fun, man. It was great. We got to see a couple of the 48ers that were in the building, too. They popped out. You never know who's going to show up to these events, man. And that's the great thing about these Bryce and Wendell events. Like you said, Phillip Shepard came out. Like, I was like, what in the world? Phillip Shepard. I got to take a picture immediately, man. Like, that dude is an absolute legend. You know what I'm saying? People forget that he got second place, man.

[00:09:35] He got second place. Like, people forget that, man. The dude was a character. But guess what? He was still able to make it to the end. So, you know, big props to him for coming out and showing love. There was Caleb out there. There was Tiffany that showed up. There was so many people that just popped out. That's exactly what you want to see. So, I appreciate you guys and what you guys do for the community because it's honestly amazing, all these events. If you haven't went to one yet, telling you, it's worth going to. I don't care if you got to book a flight to go there. If you're like, okay, one's one city over.

[00:10:05] Look for the cheapest flight out of all of the ones left and be like, look, I'm going to go to that. Because trust me, if you haven't been, they're worth going. It's an incredible thing. And it's something you're going to have. It's a memory you're going to have for the rest of your life. I promise. Okay. When do we clip in that? That's our new promo. Tour 49. Okay. Yeah. I mean, I had a great time too. Rome said it all. But it's great. You always see some old friends. You also make some new friends. And obviously seeing everyone from the community was excellent.

[00:10:33] You know, so many interesting characters popping up. And, you know, it was a new venue. Some technical difficulties. But here's the thing I like about it, Bryson Wynn. Sometimes you might not catch the whole. You might get caught up. You might be grabbing a drink with somebody. You might. But then the episode, it's like a little teaser. You go home the next day. It's like you get to watch it again. Fresh perspective. So, it's really like a two for one if you think about it. So, it was really the best. Way to clean that one up, Jackery. We will use the Rome.

[00:11:03] We will use the Rome. Yes, we will take the Rome. But nevertheless, LA definitely delivered. And the BWP Tour 48 continues next week. A funny story, though, real quick. Bradley from Ghost Island was in the building yesterday. Shout out to Bradley. Y'all know I love Bradley.

[00:14:27] And the venue that we were at wanted to play some Survivor seasons on different TVs before the episode came on. And Bradley walks in. It's literally his vote-out episode. And he's like, what type of welcoming surprise is this? But then I walk away. I come back 15 minutes later. Bradley has set up shop at the bar.

[00:14:56] And it's like, you know, I've never actually seen this episode in its entirety. And he's watching his boot-out of Ghost Island. So that was kind of crazy in itself. I heard him telling fans that he was on the new season. That's what it was. Nah, nah. I like Bradley. I like Bradley. But it was funny. I walked in and saw, like, the Stephanie boot or whatever. I was like, it's a new season. What year is it?

[00:15:26] Did we go through a time machine? Yeah. I was like, this season sucks. And listen, listen. As much flack as Ghost Island may have gotten, in all seriousness, when I did my binge, like, my super binge of all the seasons, Ghost Island was one that stuck out to me. Like, I really thought that that was a really good season. Like, so I was kind of surprised once, like, you know, after I started getting into the Reddits and things like that, that people were like, oh, they didn't have the season that high of ranking. And I was like, I don't know why. Like, I thought it was, I thought it was really cool through and through.

[00:15:55] I thought it had a cool duo that made it all the way to the end. It had the first ever straight up tie at the end. I'm like, how did y'all not like it? Personally, that's just my thoughts. But, you know. You know what? Well, thank you, Rome. All right. So y'all love me to make it a part. You are the Louis Vuitton version of Q. Okay. Thank you very much. You are the Gucci version of Q. Okay. You are. Thank you. Thank you, Rome. You know what? Q is gone.

[00:16:22] We got to give Rome a nickname because this Rome right here, this is like, this, no, this is Jerome. Okay. Jerome with us. Rome, can I ask Jerome a question real quick since we talked about Zilean? Oh, yeah. Yeah. Who you thought should have won? In the moment, I thought, I thought, I thought, I thought Dom was going to win. In the moment, I thought Dom was going to win.

[00:16:49] I didn't really know who I thought should have won because I felt like they did everything together. So, like, also, I thought that Wendell's fire making kind of put him, like, a little bit more even. Like, because at first I was like, okay, I think Dom's going to get it. But then once Wendell won fire making, I was like, okay, it could go either way now. Because, like, the way Wendell won it when he was putting them sticks down, I still remember he just looking over while putting them sticks down with a straight face. I'm like, nah, this dude got it. I was like, Wendell might win this thing. And it ended up being a tie.

[00:17:16] So, and, you know, that early game connection that he was able to make early on in the game ended up being the vote that he needed to win the million. So, yeah, props to Wendell, you know? Jack, don't the fans, for season 50, didn't Jeff say, like, we'd be able to vote for the fire? Don't the fans not like the fire making challenge? I would say the fans that kind of are, you know, the super fans. I would say I'm generally against the fire.

[00:17:46] I think, yeah, I think they're against the fire making. But, you know, the casual fan out in, you know, wherever, the middle of nowhere might like the fire. I like it. I vote to keep fire making. Like, it makes sense. I think that the only reason why the quote-unquote diehard fans don't like fire making is because of the season it was introduced and, like, at the time. And it wasn't announced to the players beforehand. So, when, like, everyone thought Ben was going home when he had the letter upside down, everyone

[00:18:14] was like, oh, my goodness, yay, Ben's going home because they were rooting against him. And then, boom, it's actually fire making that night instead. So, I think a lot of people were more just upset at how it was introduced rather than upset at what fire making actually is. So, that's my thing. I do think that's a knock against it. I do have other gripes with the fire making challenge. I don't know if we want to get into all that right now. Maybe that's something we save for later. But I think there's other flaws with the fire making challenge. But it's not as bad as... I can go either way. But I prefer no fire making.

[00:18:42] Because the nice thing is, when there's no fire making challenge, but then there's a tie, it feels like the fire making challenge, the drama is so much more intense. Because there was a tie. It's unexpected. And I also think, just to quickly make... You know, if you have an idol or whatever, you can play an idol at five. You can make fire at four. Or there's no opportunity for you to actually get voted out. There's no need to play Survivor after six if you have an idol. So, I think it would be nice to see people maneuver a little bit more.

[00:19:12] And I also think it was introduced to help bigger threats make it to the end. But now, it's more important to take bigger threats out earlier, I think, which is actually a little bit counterproductive. So, anyways. Yeah. My suggestion that I have is that at the final four, the final four immunity, the immunity necklace can be used as an immunity idol for that night. So, essentially, you can play it on somebody after the votes are cast.

[00:19:38] So, essentially, it makes it where that last immunity matters a ton. Because if you know everyone's voting for one person, you can say, nope, after the votes are cast and put that necklace around them and be like, they're actually safe tonight. And you voted somewhere else, and that person's actually going home now, and you just set up your final three how you want. I think that that would be interesting. If they are going to remove fire making, I think that they need to replace something else. And I think that would be a good replacement. I'm not mad at that, Rome. I'm not mad at that. Neither am I. I agree with that, Rome, because I always feel as though you should be able to play that

[00:20:08] individual immunity like an idol. Yep. Now, listen. Me too. We're here for season 48, okay? Mm-hmm. And listen, our fans are very active in the comments. They will be like, y'all talking too much. Because, listen, they tell me to shut up, okay? They say, I know it's Bryce's podcast, but he talks too much. I write the comment. Okay, I agree. That's a loud minority that's speaking. That's not the majority belief, Bryce. People like you lead in the way.

But Bryce talking Survivor 48 before we get into the actual episode, I see about half of your shirt and I'm very curious as to what's going on. We got the Mary merch. Can you walk us through it a little bit?

[00:21:33] I believe it is Mother Mary. And, you know, I support my Mother Mary's mission. And so I support the cast. I love to buy the shirts. Mary is currently living in Philly and Philadelphia Eagles won and Saquon we trust. So listen, I'm with Mother Mary, OK? What does Saquon have to do with Mary? What does it say on your shirt, Bryce? [00:22:02] And I am here because I love Mary and I support the merch. Now, let's let's keep the podcast rolling. So, Bryce, I'm curious. We'll let the Mother Mary's missionaries slide for now. But you did you did text me that there was a specific moment that you really wanted to talk about. And so I feel like what better way to kick things off than whatever really stuck out to you? I OK. And we got Rome here.

[00:22:31] So this is great. So I was getting flashbacks of Kageon. And I'm going to be honest, seeing Star this episode, I felt for Star a lot. It seemed like from the edit in which we got, it seemed like nobody was bonding with Star. Star sees people going off and Star is left by themselves. And so, like, if you left by themselves, what you supposed to do, Rome? Look for an idol.

[00:23:02] Right. And so Star does that because she needs to defend herself. And then it just I felt like it was just things happening to Star. I felt like in that situation, I've been there. And then I also just then kind of felt like some mismanaging of the game kind of sort of happened with Star and telling everybody and everybody telling everybody.

[00:23:26] And so I just I don't know that Star moment just really stuck out for me because I really kind of empathize with her in the sense of like you're cool with people. Clearly, people are talking, but it just seems like Star's being othered a little bit and not by anyone's fault or anything. It just kind of is happening that way. But I just felt for Star. Star. Yeah, I mean, I feel the same way watching it.

[00:23:49] Like it was it was tough, like even even at the start, like first thing, obviously, when you're out there, you wake up, you're pretty much just waiting for tree mail. You know, I'm saying you're always checking it. So, like, I'm sure they check tree mail. Then that's that's when they started talking about the challenge because the tree mail said it was going to be water, like running, like diving in, whatever. So so when Eva, Eva started saying, OK, we need Joe and Shane and me for strength, like we need Thomas and Bianca for a puzzle.

[00:24:14] And star, you can sit out, which I thought was a wild thing to to do is throw out someone's name like directly like and be like, you should sit out because that's essentially saying we think you're weak at puzzles. We think that you're weak physically. We also think that like, yeah, that's just like we think that we're also better at those things than you. Not just that you're bad, but we're better even if we're not great at it. We think like so that whole thing threw me off. So that was that was what threw me off.

[00:24:43] And so star had every right to be upset and and had every right to tell every single person about her advantage except for Eva. Are you kidding me? Like, if you just tell me I'm the one that can sit out and I find an advantage, you think I'm going to tell you first? Like, no, she's literally everyone but her. So like it makes sense as to why why star tried to get these alliances that way.

[00:25:06] I also just want to comment, like, I know Eva has shared with us that like her she doesn't sometimes social cues are hard for her to read. And here's the thing, Eva. I mean, it made for great TV, right? Like I I if was interesting enough, like telling somebody to their face because it's not like. She, but it's like you can't say she's running behind her back.

[00:25:33] Like, so it's interesting how that kind of plays itself because had star said something to Eva, then maybe they could have worked it out. But like watching it is just like, oh, but that's the thing. There's never a need to talk about who's sitting out before you even see the challenge. Like, who cares about a description? Like, if you haven't seen the challenge, you don't know what's at the end. They talked about puzzles. There was no puzzle there. It was basketball at the end. And guess what? Star plays basketball. So why are we sitting here talking about, like, who should be sitting out and doing what and things like that?

[00:26:03] Has star conveyed that she's not comfortable in the water? I know that star just learned how to swim recently so that she might have conveyed that to her tribe. And we didn't see that. So that might be why Eva's like, oh, if it's a water challenge, you've already let us know that you're not comfortable in the water. You just learn to swim so you can sit out. You know what I'm saying? Like, and so it might have been a lighthearted thing on Eva's end, but it could easily be taken the wrong way, taken out of context. It could easily go the wrong way.

[00:26:33] And for Star to at least just take it as, like, don't tell me what to do, I think that that was about as good as Star could have probably taken it. So, yeah. Well, I feel like that's what we've picked up on. Eva is probably the person that's most aware of how this might be a detriment to her because I think it's a clear example of, you know, didn't phrase it the right way. I didn't really read the room, of course, and that's something she called out as being a struggle for her. And so, I mean, I'm with you.

[00:27:01] I think Star had the right interpretation, too. And I think that this is going to be something we're going to have to watch, you know, the highs and lows of what Eva is going to be doing in the game. And it's, I mean, it's good for Eva. She's got some close people, too, now. But, Bryce, I hear you. Like, Star hasn't really done anything wrong. I'm glad she went out and got the beware advantage.

[00:27:20] It just feels like it was, it's sort of, and people talked about this last week, it just sort of by merit of these immediately, like, weirdly close duos that form between Joe and Eva, between Bianca and Thomas. I mean, to be fair, Joe and Eva, that's a pretty unexpected duo. That's not just, like, two people that are super similar, just being, like, we're the same. I mean, but, I mean, their daughter. Yeah, I was about to say, it's the youngest person, the youngest girl in the tribe and the oldest guy on the tribe.

[00:27:49] So, it's the easy father-daughter dynamic. Like, so, that's definitely something that you'd look for out there. Like, that definitely makes sense. I suppose. That doesn't always happen. Yeah, it doesn't always. Yeah. I hear you. I hear you. Obviously, Bianca and Thomas, pretty similar individuals. And it starts, I really like Shaheen talking through this dilemma of helping Star with the beware advantage here. Because now it's sort of like Shaheen's, like, could Star be my sneaky duo?

[00:28:16] And I don't want to, you know, Star somebody to me with information. I don't want to necessarily just hand her the clue to it, like the secret to unlocking this. I don't want to sabotage her necessarily. So, I like that Shaheen's, like, let me leave the option open but not lock it in for her. Right. Now, can we talk real quick about Killer Thomas?

[00:28:40] Now, listen, I have a dilemma because it's like, why you want to do my girl like that? Don't do Star like that. And the other part of me is like, oh, you like, you's a killer and I like it. Like, that like, oh, like, sorry, I just, sorry, because I feel like sometimes as a gay man, they think, like, the gays don't want to come out there and play.

[00:29:08] But Thomas said, or maybe we can just make it disappear. I was like, oh. Mafia shit. Like, that scared the hell out of me and I loved every second of it, even though I hated it. But I was like, yo, Thomas is, he playing. But I'm like, Thomas was playing so much, he scared Shaheen. Thomas was like, just get rid of it.

[00:29:37] Nobody would know. Shaheen was like, oh, wait, okay. I don't know. Like, and I am nervous now because it's like, Shaheen now knows that Thomas is a killer. And, but like, that was just so unexpected though. Like, what did y'all think when that happened? Like, I thought Thomas was going to be like, we can just not, we don't, we don't have to help her. We can pretend like Thomas was like, get rid of it.

[00:30:12] So, so listen, I understand both sides of the coin, right? I understand Thomas's point of view. I didn't know any of this. Now I'm getting all this information within the hour. And you telling me the star doesn't have a vote. She's not in our, our alliance and she can't play her shot in the dark. Okay, cool. Lose it. What we're good. What we need to help her for. Like I get in the moment thought process. Right. But Shaheen, he's sitting there thinking. I don't want to fight against the power. I'd rather work with the power because guess what?

Yo, I had something to say, but I forgot it. I'll say that I love this killer. This is the type of villain. Thomas is the type of like villain that I love because he's hilarious.

[00:33:31] He's super nice, but like he will clearly cut throats. I'm a little nervous because obviously he shows that killer instinct episode two. Now, I think Shaheen might similarly have that in him though. So it could lead to a very devious duo. But I am a little nervous. Like Thomas did that. He also ultimately lies about getting an advantage at the journey, which I don't think is a bad move. I love Thomas's mindset of keep the advantage to yourself.

[00:33:58] But I think eventually that's going to come to light because there's going to be other people that were on the journey that were like, oh, we had to play. So Thomas and then it's like, oh, things might catch up to Thomas, but I like the diabolical way that he's playing the game. It's so funny. He's so funny too. And then I agree. Like it's easy for Thomas to be like, let's get rid of the advantage. But if you're Shaheen and you lose the advantage, the best case scenario is stars going to be like, what the hell? Like you just lost your health.

[00:34:27] That's the best case. Like stars at best is just pissed that you lost it at worst. Never trust you again. So I think Shaheen played everything the right way, which was really nice. I agree. I was really impressed with Shaheen this episode. You know, the fact that he didn't just immediately be like, yeah, let's get rid of it. Like, let's do it.

[00:34:46] Like he thought about it and he was like, no, that's a little too devious even for like, you know, I guess he, you know, he thought that, you know, from what it sounded like in the confessional, he thought that he was going to, you know, be able to make these devious moves and things like that. But he already realized like, this is a little bit too devious for me is for me. So I can respect that from Shaheen. In that case, all the blood is on his hands. So not necessarily.

[00:35:13] Because it could be a little bit of Joe as well. Because it's like, don't put it. Oh, yeah. Well, yeah. The piece of paper. Yeah. If he loses that. You know. I mean, I also feel like a good. Because, you know, you know, Thomas is gay. I'm gay. So we think alike. I was thinking like Shaheen could say that he put it in his pocket and went swimming. [00:36:07] And then we see Joe kind of like having this reflection moment about like all of these relationships and what it's weighing on him like with like having Eva then meeting with Star. And he's got these other people. And he's like, he says what a lot of alums say that you go in the survivor wanting to play, but then you make these relationships and then it complicates it because you're dealing with real people. But ultimately, I feel like in that montage, Joe was like, he's riding for Eva, period. So. Yeah.

[00:36:37] Not really much. And it's like it's going to put Joe in a tough position, but it's the classic. Like if anyone else is in Joe's shoes and people come to you with info or like deals, you're not going to be like, no. You know what I mean? But you play so well, you play yourself into a position that you have to have to stab someone in the back. So like how I see it is Joe played himself into a corner.

[00:37:00] Like that's how I see the situation by him telling Eva and also being aligned with everyone else, including Star, who told him about the beware advantage. Now, if Star, from what it sounds like, Shaheen's going to help or he's not trying to sabotage it. So eventually, like he said, she will get it open. Right. He said that like it's not that that difficult based on how she was saying it. So if Star gets that idol, if they got to go to tribal, guess what? Star is not going home. She's based off how she's feeling right now. She's probably going to probably going to play it on herself.

[00:37:27] And then now Joe either has to get rid of somebody he's trying to work with, like immediately, like Joe has zero outs right here. If Star is Star gets that idol and plays it as the first tribal, he's going to lose somebody he wants to work with. So right now, I think. I mean, does he want to work with Bianca? That's really we haven't seen anything. That's an option, but like, look, it makes it rocky when right away. Here's the thing. I also don't think Loggie is really due for a tribal anytime soon.

[00:37:54] It obviously makes it rocky when you've got to cut someone you want to work with. But at the same time, I think it's a really good problem to have in Survivor if you want to work with everybody so much in your group that it's difficult to have to get rid of someone. Right. You'd rather have to get rid of a potential ally than just have a bunch of enemies. But I agree with you. Joe is in a tough spot. It's going to be interesting to see how he navigates it. Yeah. You can be one of those last. Two or three people. But. Similar to when Keyshawn did it. If.

[01:00:34] If Mary has no vote. And say has an idol. And your entire plan revolves around. Not only say not playing her idol. But also. Cedric coming with you. Justin coming with you. Then you essentially are thinking like. Okay. Everybody is with me. But. Like everybody's with me. More than they're with. They're with say. And it's just such a complicated plan. That hinges on a lot of different relationships. Coming. Your way. That it's just like. It's the right idea. But in this moment. It's doing too much.

[01:01:04] And I think that's where Kevin really shook himself up. I agree. Yeah. Yeah. Like he had the right idea. And maybe if Mary had a vote. And say didn't have an idol. Then you'd just be like. Yo Justin. Like. Could we flip this? Oh. Yeah. But. To be like. Alright. I need everybody who has a vote. Other than say. To vote her out. And her not to play her idol. And so. Like. Just to. Just to talk about it. Because you said it reminds you of. Of my season situation. So. I thought that. It definitely did. Like Mary is essentially.

[01:01:33] In the Saul position. Say was in my position. You know. Kevin was in Keyshawn's position. Cedric was in Genevieve's position. Teenie was in Justin's position. Right. Like. So it's like. Everyone. Was pretty much. Kind of in the same situation. Um. And. It was one of those things. Where. With me. I tried to get Saul. To give up his shot in the dark. Because he could play a shot in the dark. He had a vote. Right. This is a situation. Where the. The Saul in this situation. Mary. She doesn't have a vote.

[01:02:02] She can't play her shot in the dark. So it's like. There wasn't even a need. To do anything extra. Like there was no need to do. That you knew she couldn't vote. She couldn't save herself. Like she was gonna. She was gonna be out of there. And. Um. Kevin decided to. To go for the person. That he thought was more. Quote unquote dangerous. Um. Which. I mean. If someone's putting. If. If you feel like someone's that dangerous early on. Are they really about to win? So it's like. Like. They'll get themselves out. You know what I'm saying? So it's like. That's. That's how he should be thinking. He shouldn't be thinking like.

[01:02:32] Yeah. This person's dangerous at 17. Let me get him out now. Like. Yeah. Let him get themselves out. I do see him being like. Okay. If we vote out Mary. And we go back to tribal. And say. And Cedric are together. And have an idol. And Justin might be with them too. That's. A bad position to be in. But obviously. If Cedric would say. At that point. Then he's probably would say. At this point. And then you're just trying to do too much. I mean. That's really like. The thing too is. I think Kevin was really unlucky. Just generally. Like being on this tribe. Where he's probably the best challenge asset.

[01:03:02] Against some other tribes. That are completely loaded. Like. You go to tribe. Three or four times. Before the merge. You're gonna lose some decent players. Like. So I don't really think. Like. Kevin was. Is it unlucky though? Like. Is it. Is it unlucky? Or did like. Kevin try to strike. Too soon? It's both. I mean. I don't think it was. The best strategic move. But I just think the fact of the matter is. Even if they vote out Mary. Kevin's probably next. And they probably do go back to tribal. So. Maybe then Kevin's the third boot. Instead of the second boot.

[01:03:32] But you kind of have to play. To like. Extend your longevity in the game. Which is why I don't mind Kevin. Sort of shooting a shot. But obviously. It would take everything to go 100% perfect. That's really difficult to pull off. So I think you just reign it back. Hope for a win. Hope for a swap. But. Obviously like. What I mean by it being unlucky. Is like. Say you switch. Kevin and Kyle. Then. This Vula tribe. Still probably goes to tribal a lot. And then you're just lucky. That you were on the right tribe. Which I think is like. A really underrated thing. About. And then obviously.

[01:04:02] I think for this tribe. Of course. Kevin is a challenge asset. Generally. I mean. Maybe not with his bum. Shoulder right now. But. It's sort of. I feel like they've accepted. That they're such a mess. That. Even if they have Kevin. It doesn't really matter. So you got to stick with your. You got to find your person. And just try to ride to that final two. Of the tribe. And just do what you got to do. To get there. Who is the weakest member. Like. I guess physically. We're talking physically. Who is the weakest member. On that tribe. I mean. Mary. But Cedric also. Had a bad performance. This challenge too. Like. Yeah.

[01:04:32] I'd say. I'd say Cedric. Like. Even on the marooning challenge. When he was covered in mud. Like. He couldn't get up that wall. Or whatever. Yeah. I'd probably say. I'd probably say Cedric. Mary. Mary kind of smoked the water part. Part of the challenge. And she even said like. This is why. One of the reasons I applied. Was for these water challenges. So. Yeah. And she was. She was almost keeping up. With Shaheen and David. You know what I'm saying. So. Yeah. If you. I do like. You know. You have a big physical challenge. Mary's probably the smallest person out there. So. Not that she's not athletic. But like. That's. That's.

[01:05:02] I don't want to harp on it too much. Because we said it last episode. I really. Would like to see what. The tribe division. Discussion looked like. Because this. Division just doesn't really make any sense to me. Like. Like. Stephanie. Say. Um. Bianca. Basketball player. A hockey player. Cedric. Kevin and Justin. Don't stack up against. David. Kyle and Mitch. I mean. Mitch was looking like. Prime Kobe Bryant. In that challenge. Like.

[01:05:31] Um. So I don't. I don't know. And then even. I think. Kevin was like. Or maybe Justin's. I think Kevin. Looking at him standing next to Jeff. When his torch got snuffed. Just not that tall. Kevin must be like. Five. Eight. Like he was almost. A good or bad day. Um. But yeah. No. It's just. It's just really. Like this tribe. Was sort of best in for failure. But when that's the case. You better just find your duo. And ride with them. And just try to get to that. I don't know. It's hard. That's.

[01:06:01] So real quick. Can we talk about the vote? Because tribal. I thought was extremely interesting. Um. Say was extremely open to everyone. About the vote. About it's going to be Mary. Um. Things like that. And I thought it was interesting. Jeff asked a question. He said. What happens if you guys are both here? And Mary essentially said. If we're both still here. After the vote. We can't work together. Because we can't trust each other. And we need to eliminate each other. And say's face was like. Oh. Word. And. I thought it was very interesting. Because also. Um.

[01:06:31] Say when she played her idol. She said she didn't feel confident in the vote. I thought that was really interesting. Because in my head. I thought say would be confident in the vote. Um. Knowing where things are going. Um. Um. But at the same time. You got to think. Say. Thought that Justin and Cedric. Were going to vote for Mary that night. Because that's what they said. And also. Justin and Cedric. Thought say. Was going to be voting for Mary. Because that's who they told her to vote for. But little did each other know. Both parties. Voted for Kevin. So. I thought it was crazy. Coming into the.

[01:07:00] Into the vote. The plan was. Tell the other person to vote for Mary. And then both parties. Ended up voting for Kevin instead. I thought that was. That was incredible. Like. Say did it to teach Kevin a lesson. And. They did it because they had a talk. And figured out that Kevin was a bigger threat. So. I felt like that was too. I felt like we just did. They edited that way. They left a lot. Uh. For us not to see. Because I felt like that was too. Co-wee-deen. Was this.

[01:07:29] I think voting Kevin was the right move. You know. Assuming Cedric and Say are the. Powerful duo here. Then I think leaving. Seeing Mary and Justin. It's like. They're not gonna. Tie it up against you. So they're in a great spot. Whereas you leave Kevin with a Justin. I mean again. I don't think Kevin and Justin. Are gonna take a stand. And go to two to two. But. Um. It's I always like. If you're in that. Like that power position. Just leave people in. That are not gonna. Get together. And it's just. The game's gonna flow through you.

[01:07:59] Would it. Would it have made sense for. I guess. A Justin. To have tried to swing it. Onto. Onto Mary though. Or. Um. What about his position. I mean. Do you think he's just. The three in that group. And he's kind of happy with it. And just hoping they don't. I think that Cedric. Has the most influence. In this. In this game. Cedric went to Say. And said. Can you. What'd he say. Like can you. Keep your emotions in check. Or something like that. Like. And then she was like. Yeah. And he told her. Like look. Look we're gonna be putting votes on you tonight.

I will be right his name down. Yep. Yeah. I thought that was. That was pretty funny. I thought. Do you think that Justin. Because Justin. I feel like was the one that changed Cedric's mind. Into voting for Kevin. But would it have been better for Justin. To vote for Mary. Or what do you guys. No. Because. Didn't we just say. We need to. Like. If we're a tribe. That is more than likely. Going to be going again.

[01:08:58] We need to line the dominoes up. And I really think. Belinsky. Is peeping that. If Kevin. Is trying to get. Say out. Like. Who's to say. It won't be me next. And so. I think it is brilliant. For Belinsky. To be like. Let's get Kevin. And then boom. If we go again. Boom. It's Mary. And so like. I think that's the most. I think he did the most logical thing. For his game. I will. I will. I don't. Necessarily disagree. I will counter that argument. And I will say. That. I think. Belinsky played really well. This episode.

[01:09:28] I think. In his mind. If I'm him. I think that I'm. The number three. In this tribe. Whoever goes home. Right. It seems like Cedric. And Sarah. Really tight. Like Cedric. Just told. Say this plan. So. I'm thinking. Okay. Whether it's Mary. Or Kevin. It'll probably. Be the other one next. And obviously. Kevin's not the most trustworthy. But like. He did come to you. With some information. I think. Maybe just the argument. For Justin. To vote for Mary. Is like. If I'm going out. You know. If I'm going to be the.

[01:09:58] If I'm going to be the three. In this. My. I do not want to get. To a place. Where I'm going to tribal. With that three. And so. Maybe just keep Kevin. To give you a better shot. In the challenges. With your four. I mean. They might be. But. But. He still has that three. Because he still has Mary. And now it could be. Mary. Him. But. Cedric. But with Mary. Don't you think that. There's a higher chance. They lose the next challenge. And then that obviously. Means there's a more likely chance. They go to tribal. Again. In which case. It would be him.

[01:10:26] You heard Cedric's reaction. To when Justin said. Yeah. But getting rid of Kevin. I'm a little bit worried. About the challenges. Cedric said. Challenges. Challenges. We're talking about challenges. They know they ain't winning. Well yeah. Cedric and Cedric. And Cedric and Cedric shouldn't care. Because they know. They might not. They're probably not going to win any. But I'm just thinking. If I'm Justin. Well. They said that. They know they're not going to win any. Like. So. But if I'm Justin. And I know we're not going to win any. And we might go to four tribals.

[01:10:55] And I'm going to be the person out. At that fourth tribal. Then to me. It makes sense. That you would. Try to keep Kevin. Just me. Having Kevin. You're more likely to win. Than having Mary. I think is a reasonable. I mean. Hey. Hey. I wouldn't. I wouldn't make that assumption. I'm not. If you're in the game. I would. I would feel like. I'm not saying. It depends on the challenge. There's other factors. Mary's no slouch. But Kevin's pretty athletic. Like. I would think. We're better off with Kevin. And so.

[01:11:24] With a lump shoulder. He did die. The die was terrible. The die was terrible. Terrible. I don't know. I mean look. We might. We might see them go to four tribals. Either way. In which case. I think. Justin would be the one out. Fourth. After Mary goes next. If that's the case. But. But again. I think Justin played his cards fine. Because also. I don't mind. Look. If this is the hand you're dealt. And you think you're going to go to a bunch of tribals. You've got to just try to get down to that. That three. And maybe win a challenge.

[01:11:54] And then you're good. And then you're a free agent. Like what else can you do? Like. If Justin tried to do what Kevin was doing. We see what happens. Yeah. Very small point. That I just wanted to like. Way. Way. A little bit. But I think Justin. Given his situation. Did a great job. Can we give. Uncle said. A round of applause for. I like the way he handled. Coming back. [01:17:22] But they didn't see. The Idol yet. As far as we know. They don't know about it. So. When it comes to this tribe. I feel like the dynamics. Are pretty straightforward. But also. You know. I don't know man. I feel like they're. They're just the two on the bottom. I don't know. Like. I feel like this is a pretty. Straightforward tribe. So. Now. I love David. The one thing that. Made me mad. With David. This episode was. When they're like. He's like. I like Mitch. But I just can't trust him. But then I'm like.

[01:17:51] But Mitch. Isn't in. Your alliance. You don't talk with Mitch. Why would you then trust him? And then it's like. You're like. And I can't trust him in charity. But it's like. That y'all have made this alliance. Yeah. Like. And it's. It's obviously. It's clear to them too. So. I don't know. Sometimes I hate when. And not necessarily David. Or. Maybe. Somebody can explain this to me. Or just the psychology of it. Is where like. When the alliance is running the tribe. And obviously. The two people on the bottom. I hate when then.

[01:18:21] The tribe's like. We can't trust them. Well. Why do you think. You can't trust them? Yeah. Y'all have made this problem. Well. I think especially with this alliance. It's sort of form. Like. Charity said like one thing. And they all came together. Like. We don't want to deal with this game. And let's just stick together. And so. It literally formed out of. A desire to not really strategize. And then. So they see Mitch and Charity. Charity's like. Mitch. I'm so proud of you. For overcoming your obstacles. And David and Nicole are like. Nah.

[01:18:51] We can't have that. Too close to gameplay. Too close. Yeah. No. I mean. Right. But I think the psychology is like. Once you have your group. Whether it's in Survivor. In society. It's very easy to. Want to. You know. Villainize. The outsiders. And so. I mean. In Survivor. I hate to say it. Like. It's sort of. What you kind of have to. Like. To make sure. Your alliance is solid. You kind of have to. Separate those other people. Is it right?

[01:19:21] Probably not. But of course. If he's running around. Being like. You know what. My alliance. We should trust. Charity and Mitch. I actually like those guys a lot. And then everyone be like. Well. What's. I thought we had something good going. So. I think that's the psychology of it. I mean. Sometimes it's a little tough to watch. Because like you said. Like Mitch and Charity. They're. Seem really nice. Like. They seem really fun. And then someone. People I'd want to work with. But it's just like. The way that the. The cards got dealt. And then. My last thing.

[01:19:51] Is. Wouldn't we think. In this new era. Right. That. When we see. A tribe like this. Who is pretty strong. They're well. Like. My mind. Wonders. It actually. Is easier. For. Someone in this alliance. To flip. And having like. The swing vote. Of a charity. And a Mitch. Right. Like. What David is thinking. Is right. But I'm thinking like. I think what he should be thinking. Is. Actually.

[01:20:20] Let me just plant some seeds. With these people. In the event that like. Something in this four goes awry. I'd rather be the first. To these two. Than me being like. We like. You know what I'm saying. Like it's like. Kind of. Seeing that issue. It's a fine line though. You don't want to be too. And well. And Mitch. With this block of vote. Now it's just going to take one. If they can flip one. Then they. They can get the majority. But. I know what you mean. You want to keep. Open communication. But also. You don't want to be the one. That's playing both sides. And have your alliance. Turn on.

[01:20:51] That's true. What. What's your own thing? I'm just thinking like. That block of vote. Makes it where like. You need. You need. Two other people. With you to vote. And then. The other three people. Are all going to be able to vote. Except so you block one's vote. Right. And so then it's three on two. So. You need to be able to. To fully trust those two people. They need to also fully trust. In terms to. Shot in the dark. I don't know if you block someone's vote. If a blocked vote. Is the same as not having a vote.

[01:21:21] I don't know if like. A blocked vote. You can't play your shot in the dark. If someone blocks your vote. I'm assuming that that's how it works. But we don't know for a fact. So. Whoever Mitch. Blocks their vote on. They might end up being the target. Because they can't play their shot in the dark. And. I think. I don't know. I think that. That. I don't know. A block of vote is such an interesting. An interesting one. Because it's not as straightforward. As steal a vote. You know. Steal a vote. You know. They can't play their shot in the dark. Now you get two votes. Like. You know what I'm saying. Like. It's. It's. It's a lot. A lot more lethal. To have a steal a vote. Than a block of vote.

[01:21:51] And. Because. The block of vote. Right. You really don't know how. Actually it works. Until you play it. That. Makes it more lethal. Or does that make it more like. Less. Like people aren't as scared. It's a hot take. If you go on a journey. It's. And you get something early. In the game. Especially. If your tribe's still at six. You tell every single person. About your advantage. That you get on the journey. Like that's. It's a hot take.

[01:22:21] But like. I said it. Because it's just. Worked so many times. In the new era. Like we saw. A classic example. Was Drew. With. In 45. Drew went on the journey. I forgot what advantage. He got. But he got an. Got an advantage. He came back. And it made everyone trust him. Like everyone felt like. They could trust Drew. And wanted to work with him. Instead of. Oh I found out about you. Having an advantage from someone else. Now I want to go after you. Because you dangerous. Like. You know what I'm saying. So it's like. It definitely. In my opinion. Was a good move on Mitch. To be open. That I have a block of vote. Because now. At the first tribal. People can assume.

[01:22:51] He's going to be using that block of vote. Right. So it's like. I think a lot more people. Are probably going to be. Wanting to work with Mitch. Than not work with Mitch. When it comes to the vote. If they ever have to go. That's a good point. Yeah. And. There's so much game. And you sort of. Present like. Oh well I have this asset. It could be. Used for our group. But if you try to go against me. In these small numbers. It's just going to be a little bit harder. So it might. Yeah. I don't mind that. Yep. Yeah. But overall.

With the fishing gear. Because you know. The both tribes. That want immunity. They want fishing gear. And. You know. David. David went out there. And tried to. Try to. Try to do some spear fishing. You know what I'm saying. He. How did it work out. Well he wasn't able to catch any. Unfortunately. You know. I was rooting for him. You know what I'm saying. Man. And somebody that. Caught 13 fish. I was out there.

[01:23:51] You know what I'm saying. I was rooting for him. To get a couple. But you know what I'm saying. He wasn't able to. But that's the thing. Is that they. He's got fire. So he's got a lot of days. To try. So it's like. I'm sure that he's going to be able. To catch some fish. At some point. What advice. Could you give him Rome? What advice. From the technique.
