[00:01:42] And I thank you so much for tuning in

[00:01:44] to this week's Purple Pants podcast is supporting and uplifting your peers, your friends, the people that support you, you need to support them. So I thought it would be a great idea to have air formerly known as Jacob Jones come on the podcast

[00:03:02] and talk about this transition to music,

[00:03:05] to talk about these new thank you so much. Bryce, first off, introduction. Ah, ah, you made me feel so right.

[00:04:23] And no, I'm excited to be here.

[00:04:26] When you texted me and said you was bumping to DaVinci, of there are two things that I love about going out, right? One is getting ready. Oh, of course. And two is returning home. Oh, of course. Oh my God, right? You just spoke to my heart. I completely agree. Cause listen, it all lives. I could be at an event for two minutes and my spirits say it's time to go. I will Irish goodbye like nobody's business.

[00:05:42] But no, like as I was getting ready

[00:05:44] to go out with some of my friends,

[00:05:45] I wanted to be intentional.

[00:05:46] And I was like, let of a lot of shit, but I think it's under the umbrella of house. So and I'll be honest, I don't personally jam to house like that. Yeah. In my house. Okay. In my house. Come on, Beyonce. However, you know, me getting into, I mean, like I literally just filmed myself dancing, making a drink, put my, so like like oozy air is that person on the dance floor. Like everyone else is watching around him and he's just like spinning grabbing the mic dip being has flare pants on flowy clothes on like ever since I like had air I was like air Jones is a sick name And then when I started doing music which Hit me out of nowhere. I was like When I singing in the studio when I write the songs I feel this like

[00:09:45] This like rock this way this so like I was just like, okay, here it goes, okay.

[00:11:01] And then when I like started listening to you,

[00:11:03] and Ali and then you know, Ali is the godmother

[00:11:05] of my turtle, Kimmy, and so, knowing the person can be misinterpreted as something. You know what I mean? And so I think as you have gotten to know me more and as I have gotten to know you more, if that was before that situation, it wouldn't have been a situation. Absolutely. But it was funny and rational stuff. Yeah. And I was kind of Jacob Jones. Ow. And Bryce wasn't getting laying into my ass.

[00:12:21] Let me tell you.

[00:12:22] Let me tell you.

[00:12:23] And so, but again, it was really let go. Like you own the room. You come down to the room. Like you're like, I'm living in my truth, my life.

[00:13:40] This is me.

[00:13:41] And so like I just love the fact that I can say that I knew it was I knew it was I knew I was gonna find a lot of things get a lot of answers find a lot of like just myself and and just figure out life in a in a weird way and it happened to me and air Was in the development stages of fearing that out and also a little bit

[00:15:03] greenery was also

[00:16:05] made me anxious. It made me, you know, shout out to the legalization, you know,

[00:16:11] shout out to different strands, shout out to understanding what it is, Satiba in different things. And

[00:16:13] Katiba is my girl. And so when you go to a dispensary and you actually talk what you are

[00:16:22] actually looking for and then they suggest different things, it's life changing.

[00:17:26] sexy it's like it really is and it really is you though right like you you are a sexy okay you my friend you my sister Jacob you're an attractive be you know

[00:17:33] like you know it fits you yeah like you know like I get it no it's not let me

[00:17:40] actually you know what let me let me choose my words correct you it fits I think I see good, but I'm not a I'm not a I'm an artist. Yes, many people can see me under the bridge out of the house But many people's minds can't think like mine can people's dreams can seem like mine can and maybe people's pins can't write like mine can so but I was sitting around the house and

[00:19:01] Just like you know do it as anyone would and speak about dinosaurs is like when people think of Donna summer she's not like the powerhouse of her time but she's a vibe. Right. You know like she's always think of like Kelly Roland Donna summer's like you know what I mean like it's a vibe so I

[00:20:23] love the fact that you know what you say in it's factual and it makes sense in which again air is Really all tying in it's like I just love and I say that arrow when she was in because that era of Disco of music of sex of moaning and groaning on a record and the reason I like disco is because I'm a moner and groaner

[00:21:47] I definitely it depends you can like, you can pick up a little one too real quick and just move. And so all that, I watched that documentary, I asked my friend who is in her mid 30s and I asked her, if you could tell yourself anything in your 20s, what would you tell yourself? She said, she's a photographer, she doesn't talk to me like on the side as a hobby more so,

[00:23:01] but works in tech.

[00:23:02] And she said, if I would have just went for it in my 20s,

[00:23:04] I bet I can be in July, it started. And so we see that you have released your debut single called, caught up in you and your follow-up single, which is Da Vinci. And for me as a music lover,

[00:24:20] I miss the days that, you know,

[00:24:23] I am maybe like a year or two older than you, but you're caught up in them and it's like, do you let your vulnerability? Do you let your, you know, do you show up? But in the song Da Vinci, it's like, we hear right now, we're here. This is the moment, like, let me spark you up to the moon. Let me like, so I like,

[00:25:45] so just in those two singles, like, I love the clubs, when I go out, I love a good house set. I love a good disco set lights in the air disco balls and the air bodies move and touch and groove it. I love it all. You know what I mean? And so if I could have interjected like a little bit in both of those songs and caught up in you, that's that's the biggie. What a cut up in use cuz I'm caught up in you baby You want you suck baby? You want you see that was like one song and then I knew another bit of it I forgot which part was another song and actually something super funny Yeah, I have this thing is I say it is my like if I you know, whatever happens to me

[00:28:23] This has all of like my really written songs And it just wasn't, you know what I mean? It just wasn't it. And cut up me was the last one I have recorded actually. And I was like, I kind of fell in love with it. We worked on it for like two sessions, banged it out. And I was like, oh, this has to be the first one because I just, it just did something to me. And Da Vinci is such like a,

[00:29:40] I just, I just, it's like, it's like a hot box, sex.

[00:29:45] It's like, yo, it's like, I have pushed me out first. I was like, that's. What in the snowball? No. No. I'm like this. But no, right? Like, but I love that. But again, I love that like sensualness, right? Yeah. Like put it in there. Like, come on. And we had, oh, wait, wait.

[00:31:01] I didn't mean it like that though.

[00:31:02] But no, like I feel like again,

[00:31:04] I listen to music to a part you that like, again, I love both of your singles, but I have to be honest. Da Vinci emotionally does something to me. And I love it as a second single. I feel like again, what artists don't do anymore is rollouts, right? So I even love the rollout of your first single to this single. What I do want to know is, is there a project coming?

[00:32:21] Is there an EP?

[00:32:22] Yes. The cover is moving. It's not like it's it's something that's not tangible. You have to feel it. I, uh, I love it. But again, so you are working. Yeah. So when I got to begin these first three songs done and I'm probably going to push back the third song coming in March, uh, my birthday is March 14.

[00:33:40] And so I wanted to drop March 15th in his call is called, um,

[00:33:44] Oh, it's, is, you should write a song about it. It's so like moving and powerful. And I was like, hmm, okay, let me write a song like about air. And so, and I was trying to figure out a name. I was like, or I have, it's probably, it's gonna be called air, but it goes like. Now the naming question. No, I'm like, I was thinking of the naming it home name

[00:35:03] because I learned in like Caribbean culture or it's,

[00:35:05] I forget which culture is, but I'm thinking it's like the air in which you need right so you got breathe it in I'm not like oh my there you go even it's air. It's air. I'm not like the Close to me. I'm gonna rock you by this And so I even cuz like you know I'm a songwriter

[00:36:22] You know like and even for something like right wait wait no coffee? I was like, but listen, if anybody could cough sexy, if anybody could make a cough sinner, it's Jacob Jones. Did you hear the other ones too? Did you hear the other things too? Oh, I heard, I've been listening throughout the whole day

[00:37:40] because I knew that we were gonna talk

[00:37:41] and I just really wanted DaVinci in my spirit.

[00:37:44] So no, I hear the cops. And I was like, oh my God, it's someone that speaks my language. Right. And I remember in that conversation feeling so like I've been where you have been before, right? Like, and just, you know, where you were this EP or project coming on, but I would like to actually live on the air. What's that with a bright sized? Right. I'm damn.

[00:40:22] I mean, I'm just saying.

[00:40:23] Right. No, I'm like, I'm like, I, I, I can love it. I would love it. I would love it. So, you know, I do have a catalog. You can, you know, Apple Music. But I do think specifically, it's not one of my favorite songs that I've ever recorded, but I think it's one of like my very personal songs. I want you to, after this recording, before you go out and I want you to text me back after,

[00:41:40] I want you to listen to Bryce Isaiah, U-A-L-I.

[00:42:45] where they can follow, where they can get you at, what to expect because we love and we support you.

[00:42:50] Purple pants, positive, I appreciate it. So, so, so, so, so, so, so much. Hopefully you enjoyed our chat and you can find caught up in you with the you being the letter you and also DaVinci

[00:42:57] on all streaming services anywhere you get music. And the covers and the so I was like, you know, you see his little Instagram real of Da Vinci and I'm dash Jacob. Five drinks in at the clock. Like, you know, that is like truly you. But again, I cannot say congratulations enough. I'm so proud of you.

[00:44:20] I love you friends and make sure that we go out and support air Da Vinci and
