[00:02:40] [SPEAKER_01]: So I'm super excited to be talking about Survivor Philly again.

[00:02:44] [SPEAKER_01]: You know, Survivor is back and Survivor Philly recap is back too.

[00:02:49] [SPEAKER_01]: So I'm excited.

[00:02:51] [SPEAKER_05]: Yes, we are here covering episode nine.

[00:02:53] [SPEAKER_05]: Only one more episode to the season finale of season three.

[00:02:57] [SPEAKER_05]: And this episode definitely disappointed.

[00:03:00] [SPEAKER_05]: Did not disappoint a lot of great things were happening.

[00:03:04] [SPEAKER_05]: A lot of moves were making a lot of missed opportunities.

[00:03:07] [SPEAKER_05]: In my opinion, I was yelling at my screen this Tuesday afternoon.

[00:03:13] [SPEAKER_05]: Like what are you doing?

[00:03:15] [SPEAKER_05]: But yeah, let's get into it.

[00:03:18] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, so, you know, we had somebody was just voted out.

[00:03:24] [SPEAKER_01]: I don't know who but somebody was just voted out some two people, two

[00:03:27] [SPEAKER_01]: childs was just voted out of the game of Survivor Philly.

[00:03:31] [SPEAKER_01]: And we immediately come back to the immunity challenge where the merge

[00:03:37] [SPEAKER_01]: shop is reunited as one.

[00:03:38] [SPEAKER_01]: So this immunity challenge price is basically a game of memory and with

[00:03:46] [SPEAKER_01]: a mix of touchy subjects to where if you get a question right,

[00:03:49] [SPEAKER_01]: you get to chop the rope of one other player.

[00:03:53] [SPEAKER_01]: So some of the questions might be what time did you wake up this

[00:03:57] [SPEAKER_01]: morning and brush your teeth?

[00:04:00] [SPEAKER_01]: But more specifically to give a better example, you know, what time

[00:04:02] [SPEAKER_01]: was the challenge?

[00:04:04] [SPEAKER_01]: What time did this person go on a journey?

[00:04:06] [SPEAKER_01]: So from this, you again, chop a rope of another player.

[00:04:11] [SPEAKER_01]: And the last person with a rope left wins.

[00:04:17] [SPEAKER_05]: Yeah, interesting because I'm like, what I remember what time we,

[00:04:21] [SPEAKER_05]: the first merge boot happened when I remember the time we did that.

[00:04:25] [SPEAKER_05]: So I was trying to see if I could even remember it and I would

[00:04:29] [SPEAKER_05]: have got all of them wrong.

[00:04:31] [SPEAKER_05]: It's very interesting because it seems like I always get them confused.

[00:04:36] [SPEAKER_05]: So I want to say the Fairmount tribe is the green tribe, right?

[00:04:42] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.

[00:04:43] [SPEAKER_05]: Well, Fairmount tribe gave is the only rocks bro left and in no

[00:04:47] [SPEAKER_05]: coincidence they all seem to target Gabe and Gabe is the first

[00:04:53] [SPEAKER_05]: person out, which sucks because it's like, well, damn, can Gabe

[00:04:57] [SPEAKER_05]: catch a break?

[00:04:58] [SPEAKER_05]: Gabe can never catch a break.

[00:05:00] [SPEAKER_05]: Nowhere.

[00:05:01] [SPEAKER_05]: They are chopping his rope out and then it's like, okay, now

[00:05:05] [SPEAKER_05]: it is sunshine, Robinette, Ryan, Manfred and Paige left.

[00:05:13] [SPEAKER_05]: And it seems to be going pretty well.

[00:05:17] [SPEAKER_05]: I want to say, and then we get down to the final three.

[00:05:22] [SPEAKER_05]: Is it?

[00:05:23] [SPEAKER_05]: And I know it's Paige, Ryan and Manfred.

[00:05:33] [SPEAKER_05]: I don't know if that's right though.

[00:05:35] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I want to say sunshine was in there too for like part of

[00:05:39] [SPEAKER_01]: towards the end as well, like with that challenge.

[00:05:42] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, he was.

[00:05:44] [SPEAKER_01]: But I know for sure, like going into the final round Paige was

[00:05:48] [SPEAKER_01]: definitely one of the people in there and I found it

[00:05:51] [SPEAKER_01]: interesting too Bryce that I'm watching it back.

[00:05:55] [SPEAKER_01]: I'm like poor Gabe.

[00:05:56] [SPEAKER_01]: Poor Gabe could not catch a break.

[00:05:58] [SPEAKER_01]: You know, him being out of the challenge first and getting all

[00:06:01] [SPEAKER_01]: three of his ropes chopped just like that.

[00:06:04] [SPEAKER_01]: He didn't stand a chance in that moment, but I found it

[00:06:07] [SPEAKER_01]: interesting that now we would have had to turn on each other

[00:06:11] [SPEAKER_01]: at this point and to see it seemed like to me this

[00:06:15] [SPEAKER_01]: challenge after Gabe was out, you know when you're playing

[00:06:19] [SPEAKER_01]: as a kid and it seemed like they was playing kickball,

[00:06:24] [SPEAKER_01]: right?

[00:06:25] [SPEAKER_01]: But instead of the rule where you got to hit the person with

[00:06:28] [SPEAKER_01]: the ball to get them out of the game, they only playing with

[00:06:31] [SPEAKER_01]: the rules.

[00:06:31] [SPEAKER_01]: Whereas like if you got the ball and you touch the base that

[00:06:34] [SPEAKER_01]: purses out because I don't think they was really trying

[00:06:36] [SPEAKER_01]: to come for each other.

[00:06:37] [SPEAKER_01]: It was a lot of, you know, playing nice playing, you

[00:06:40] [SPEAKER_01]: know, a little low ball and not really coming for each

[00:06:44] [SPEAKER_01]: other in an aggressive way and a lot of de-escalation.

[00:06:48] [SPEAKER_05]: For sure.

[00:06:49] [SPEAKER_05]: Also just a lot of like not wanting to make the first

[00:06:52] [SPEAKER_05]: move or like, oh, you already got three of your

[00:06:54] [SPEAKER_05]: ropes chopped.

[00:06:55] [SPEAKER_05]: So I'm going to go after you again trying to play a

[00:06:58] [SPEAKER_05]: cutesy and having Gabe be the first one out is easier

[00:07:01] [SPEAKER_05]: for them.

[00:07:02] [SPEAKER_05]: So like, okay, we all can agree that we're targeting

[00:07:04] [SPEAKER_05]: Gabe, but for real, for real, we have problems within

[00:07:09] [SPEAKER_05]: and there can only be one winner.

[00:07:11] [SPEAKER_05]: So my thing is when is somebody going to make a

[00:07:14] [SPEAKER_05]: move?

[00:07:14] [SPEAKER_05]: When is somebody going to like pull the trigger?

[00:07:17] [SPEAKER_05]: And so it was interesting enough.

[00:07:20] [SPEAKER_05]: Shout out to, you know, a listener of the podcast

[00:07:22] [SPEAKER_05]: page.

[00:07:23] [SPEAKER_05]: She pulls out a win and I think it's definitely

[00:07:26] [SPEAKER_05]: really great for Pages Resume.

[00:07:29] [SPEAKER_05]: You know, I've been crucial.

[00:07:30] [SPEAKER_05]: I've been very critical of Pages.

[00:07:32] [SPEAKER_05]: You know, she let me know a couple of times, but I

[00:07:35] [SPEAKER_05]: definitely think this win for Pages, my mind

[00:07:38] [SPEAKER_05]: boosts her resume.

[00:07:40] [SPEAKER_05]: It's interesting because not only does Pages

[00:07:43] [SPEAKER_05]: win immunity, she gets to go on the last and

[00:07:46] [SPEAKER_05]: final journey of this season and we don't know

[00:07:49] [SPEAKER_05]: what the journey will be.

[00:07:50] [SPEAKER_05]: Alex, she does make it clear that there are any

[00:07:53] [SPEAKER_05]: like idols or anything, but this journey can

[00:07:56] [SPEAKER_05]: definitely give you a leg up in the game.

[00:08:00] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, absolutely.

[00:08:02] [SPEAKER_01]: I found myself being proud of Pages and watching

[00:08:04] [SPEAKER_01]: it back, especially somebody who didn't see the

[00:08:06] [SPEAKER_01]: challenge happening the way she, you know, got

[00:08:09] [SPEAKER_01]: to the very end and, you know, won it and

[00:08:12] [SPEAKER_01]: got to go on this journey.

[00:08:13] [SPEAKER_01]: I thought was exciting.

[00:08:14] [SPEAKER_01]: So I'm curious to see how we dive into how she

[00:08:20] [SPEAKER_01]: deals with the information she gets and how she

[00:08:22] [SPEAKER_01]: reads it because I think, you know, as she goes

[00:08:24] [SPEAKER_01]: on this journey, right, she's separated from the

[00:08:27] [SPEAKER_01]: entire tribe and she doesn't get back until

[00:08:31] [SPEAKER_01]: pretty much right at Tribal Council.

[00:08:33] [SPEAKER_01]: So this journey for her is has to be worth it

[00:08:37] [SPEAKER_01]: at this point.

[00:08:38] [SPEAKER_01]: It's like, you know, walking into the casino

[00:08:40] [SPEAKER_01]: with all your last savings and, you know, you

[00:08:44] [SPEAKER_01]: got to cash it in.

[00:08:45] [SPEAKER_01]: You got to get what you got to get because there's

[00:08:46] [SPEAKER_01]: no, ain't no coming back with nothing.

[00:08:49] [SPEAKER_01]: You got to come back with something.

[00:08:50] [SPEAKER_01]: So I think this journey for Page, she definitely

[00:08:52] [SPEAKER_01]: was wanting to come back with something and I

[00:08:54] [SPEAKER_01]: think she did come up with a lot of something.

[00:08:57] [SPEAKER_05]: Absolutely.

[00:08:57] [SPEAKER_05]: And I love the edited.

[00:08:58] [SPEAKER_05]: I love the edit because we don't really get

[00:09:01] [SPEAKER_05]: to see what the journey is at first.

[00:09:03] [SPEAKER_05]: We more see the tribe talking, right?

[00:09:05] [SPEAKER_05]: So we see Gabe and Manfred talking.

[00:09:09] [SPEAKER_05]: They're bonding over their backgrounds.

[00:09:12] [SPEAKER_05]: They look similar.

[00:09:14] [SPEAKER_05]: We hear a lot about Gabe's story about Gabe being

[00:09:16] [SPEAKER_05]: adopted.

[00:09:18] [SPEAKER_05]: And again, just really getting to know more about

[00:09:21] [SPEAKER_05]: Gabe.

[00:09:21] [SPEAKER_05]: I just, you know, I fall more and more in love

[00:09:23] [SPEAKER_05]: with Gabe and, you know, I'm out here rooting

[00:09:26] [SPEAKER_05]: for Gabe.

[00:09:27] [SPEAKER_05]: It's interesting to see Robinette navigate this

[00:09:30] [SPEAKER_05]: because Robinette is sitting here like, is it

[00:09:33] [SPEAKER_05]: a bro party because it seems like the bros are

[00:09:36] [SPEAKER_05]: broing down.

[00:09:37] [SPEAKER_05]: You got sunshine.

[00:09:38] [SPEAKER_05]: You have Ryan and you have Gabe who we know are

[00:09:41] [SPEAKER_05]: a solid three.

[00:09:42] [SPEAKER_05]: We have Manfred over here who was trying to

[00:09:45] [SPEAKER_05]: kind of sort of connect with Gabe.

[00:09:47] [SPEAKER_05]: We know that Manfred and Robinette are somewhat

[00:09:50] [SPEAKER_05]: close.

[00:09:51] [SPEAKER_05]: It is interesting to see, and this is where I

[00:09:54] [SPEAKER_05]: feel like the biggest missed opportunity of the

[00:09:56] [SPEAKER_05]: episode was, was of my baby boy, Gabe.

[00:09:58] [SPEAKER_05]: I am going to be a little critical of Gabe because

[00:10:02] [SPEAKER_05]: again, Gabe is falling back into this position of

[00:10:05] [SPEAKER_05]: I'm just a number like whatever you guys want to

[00:10:08] [SPEAKER_05]: do.

[00:10:09] [SPEAKER_05]: I'll go like this, like kind of like poor me

[00:10:12] [SPEAKER_05]: story and I'm like Gabe now or never and it's

[00:10:16] [SPEAKER_05]: now you can get a Manfred.

[00:10:20] [SPEAKER_05]: You can get a Robinette that leaves sunshine

[00:10:23] [SPEAKER_05]: and Ryan vulnerable.

[00:10:26] [SPEAKER_05]: Then it's like you see Manfred kind of talking

[00:10:29] [SPEAKER_05]: with sunshine.

[00:10:29] [SPEAKER_05]: Well, we don't even really see him talking to

[00:10:31] [SPEAKER_05]: sunshine.

[00:10:31] [SPEAKER_05]: So that leaves me to believe like his relationship

[00:10:33] [SPEAKER_05]: with sunshine isn't that great.

[00:10:36] [SPEAKER_05]: It seems like he has a more connection with

[00:10:38] [SPEAKER_05]: Ryan.

[00:10:39] [SPEAKER_05]: Now as I'm watching it and man, not Manfred and

[00:10:43] [SPEAKER_05]: Gabe is talking to Ryan.

[00:10:44] [SPEAKER_05]: I'm just calling BS up and down with everything

[00:10:47] [SPEAKER_05]: that Ryan is saying.

[00:10:48] [SPEAKER_05]: Ryan's like, yeah, like me and you can go to

[00:10:50] [SPEAKER_05]: the final three.

[00:10:51] [SPEAKER_05]: Like it is so clear that Ryan is very connected

[00:10:54] [SPEAKER_05]: to sunshine.

[00:10:55] [SPEAKER_05]: Another interesting thing that Ryan does during

[00:10:57] [SPEAKER_05]: this time period is that like they're all

[00:10:59] [SPEAKER_05]: freaking out about page on this journey.

[00:11:04] [SPEAKER_05]: Now I find it ironic because we know that Ryan

[00:11:06] [SPEAKER_05]: went on the journey and we know that when Ryan

[00:11:08] [SPEAKER_05]: came back, he tried to you know mitigate his

[00:11:11] [SPEAKER_05]: threat level and really kind of put everything

[00:11:13] [SPEAKER_05]: out there.

[00:11:14] [SPEAKER_05]: So I thought it was so ironic that Ryan is

[00:11:15] [SPEAKER_05]: like if she's talking to the jury, she can

[00:11:17] [SPEAKER_05]: be talking to the jury.

[00:11:18] [SPEAKER_05]: We got to get her out like and I'm just like

[00:11:20] [SPEAKER_05]: wow.

[00:11:20] [SPEAKER_05]: And but I'm not mad at it right because it's

[00:11:23] [SPEAKER_05]: like, you know what?

[00:11:24] [SPEAKER_05]: Plenty sees Ryan like you know because Ryan

[00:11:26] [SPEAKER_05]: is like, I'm the best thing out here.

[00:11:28] [SPEAKER_05]: Like I'm the one to beat.

[00:11:29] [SPEAKER_05]: I'm the one to beat and I really wish Gabe had

[00:11:33] [SPEAKER_05]: this attitude because I really feel like

[00:11:36] [SPEAKER_05]: Abe is in such a peculiar situation where

[00:11:39] [SPEAKER_05]: it's like you're at the bottom.

[00:11:41] [SPEAKER_05]: However, Fairmount is going to have to

[00:11:44] [SPEAKER_05]: self-employed soon.

[00:11:45] [SPEAKER_05]: So why don't you ignite the fire to

[00:11:49] [SPEAKER_05]: explode them?

[00:11:50] [SPEAKER_05]: You can get Robinette.

[00:11:52] [SPEAKER_05]: You can get Manfred and let's work on

[00:11:56] [SPEAKER_05]: something.

[00:11:56] [SPEAKER_05]: Manfred is closer to Paige.

[00:11:58] [SPEAKER_05]: Like y'all could really get a threat and I

[00:12:00] [SPEAKER_05]: don't really feel like Gabe sees this

[00:12:02] [SPEAKER_05]: opportunity.

[00:12:03] [SPEAKER_05]: Gabe kind of fell into the background of

[00:12:05] [SPEAKER_05]: saying like, you know, poor me.

[00:12:09] [SPEAKER_05]: Like I like whatever you want, I'll do

[00:12:10] [SPEAKER_05]: and it's like no, Gabe, like get this

[00:12:12] [SPEAKER_05]: and then we see these professionals

[00:12:14] [SPEAKER_05]: of Gabe where Gabe is like, I'm a strong

[00:12:17] [SPEAKER_05]: player.

[00:12:18] [SPEAKER_05]: They are treating me like I'm a goat, but

[00:12:20] [SPEAKER_05]: like I really am a threat.

[00:12:21] [SPEAKER_05]: Well, I need for you to show up like a

[00:12:22] [SPEAKER_05]: threat, Gabe, because Gabe isn't showing

[00:12:24] [SPEAKER_05]: up like a threat.

[00:12:25] [SPEAKER_05]: Gabe is showing up like just bringing

[00:12:27] [SPEAKER_05]: to the end and it's so frustrating

[00:12:29] [SPEAKER_05]: because I'm ruined for Gabe.

[00:12:31] [SPEAKER_05]: And it's like you have this position.

[00:12:33] [SPEAKER_05]: You have this power position.

[00:12:34] [SPEAKER_05]: First of all, look at the jewelry.

[00:12:36] [SPEAKER_05]: The jewelry is all your purple tribe.

[00:12:38] [SPEAKER_05]: You could win if you get to the end.

[00:12:41] [SPEAKER_01]: Okay.

[00:12:42] [SPEAKER_01]: That's true.

[00:12:43] [SPEAKER_01]: And to add to that, to give Gabe a

[00:12:44] [SPEAKER_01]: little credit, I think Gabe was wanting

[00:12:46] [SPEAKER_01]: to make that big move.

[00:12:47] [SPEAKER_01]: Wanted to make something shaky and get

[00:12:49] [SPEAKER_01]: out one of the big guys, but he just

[00:12:52] [SPEAKER_01]: went about it the wrong way.

[00:12:54] [SPEAKER_01]: It's like, you know, if you're at the

[00:12:55] [SPEAKER_01]: fire making challenge and you're trying

[00:12:56] [SPEAKER_01]: to make a fire with some wood that's

[00:12:59] [SPEAKER_01]: been out in the ocean out in the rain,

[00:13:01] [SPEAKER_01]: it's not going to catch a spark.

[00:13:03] [SPEAKER_01]: You know, you're not going to get

[00:13:04] [SPEAKER_01]: riding at this point to turn on

[00:13:05] [SPEAKER_01]: sunshine or you're not going to get

[00:13:07] [SPEAKER_01]: sunshine to turn on Ryan.

[00:13:08] [SPEAKER_01]: But if you take the same Flint, the

[00:13:10] [SPEAKER_01]: same strategy you got the same drive

[00:13:12] [SPEAKER_01]: to make a big move and you just turn

[00:13:14] [SPEAKER_01]: that Flint to the side, to Manfred,

[00:13:17] [SPEAKER_01]: to Robinette, your fellow DJ.

[00:13:19] [SPEAKER_01]: You know, it might have been a different

[00:13:20] [SPEAKER_01]: story and it might have been a big

[00:13:22] [SPEAKER_01]: move in that round versus what we saw

[00:13:25] [SPEAKER_01]: for sure.

[00:13:26] [SPEAKER_05]: It is also interesting.

[00:13:28] [SPEAKER_05]: We see that Manfred is talking to

[00:13:30] [SPEAKER_05]: sunshine and of course they say

[00:13:34] [SPEAKER_05]: Gabe is the private investigator or

[00:13:36] [SPEAKER_05]: Gabe says he's a private investigator

[00:13:38] [SPEAKER_05]: but in my opinion,

[00:13:39] [SPEAKER_05]: sunshine's nickname fits

[00:13:42] [SPEAKER_05]: sunshine so much because

[00:13:43] [SPEAKER_05]: sunshine literally is the sun

[00:13:45] [SPEAKER_05]: watching everything.

[00:13:46] [SPEAKER_05]: We saw sunshine help

[00:13:48] [SPEAKER_05]: page with this advantage so he knows

[00:13:50] [SPEAKER_05]: where her bones are collected

[00:13:52] [SPEAKER_05]: then sunshine sees Manfred

[00:13:55] [SPEAKER_05]: get this idol

[00:13:56] [SPEAKER_05]: and sunshine plays it so cool.

[00:13:59] [SPEAKER_05]: He doesn't say anything.

[00:14:00] [SPEAKER_05]: Doesn't make a big deal because if

[00:14:01] [SPEAKER_05]: it's me, I'm approaching Manfred

[00:14:03] [SPEAKER_05]: directly and saying what's up?

[00:14:04] [SPEAKER_05]: What are we doing with this?

[00:14:06] [SPEAKER_05]: But sunshine chooses to

[00:14:08] [SPEAKER_05]: lay back or lay up in the sun

[00:14:10] [SPEAKER_05]: and just know that

[00:14:12] [SPEAKER_05]: Manfred has it.
