[00:01:52] I'm super excited to be joined by Wendell Holland, Jack Atkins, and from Survivor Season 46, we have the one and only Q. We are talking the challenges. We're talking the new tribes. We're talking tribal. We're talking alliances. We're talking, do we see a winner? We're talking it all this week. So let's get into this week's Survivor News. Survivor News.
[00:02:26] Survivor News. Survivor News. Survivor News. Survivor News. Survivor News. Survivor News. Survivor News. Survivor News. Survivor News. Da, da, da. What's going on? We are back with your Survivor News cover of Survivor Season 48. eight. The baby boys have assembled and I'm super excited to be back when DZ, winner
[00:02:56] of Ghost Island and first merge boot of Winners at War, when DZ was popping. I was just the first boot. I wasn't the first merge boot, but I'll take it. It's good to see you. You were the first boot? You know what? We didn't slip. I was just the merge boot, not the first merge boot. The first merge boot is your title. We'll take that. Good to see you. We've got Jackery Atkins from The Circle Season 2 was popping.
[00:03:27] She's good to be here. Excited to start another season. Very, very stoked. Win DZ, I'm not excited for this guest, so I'm going to pass it on to you to introduce the guest because I don't want to start the podcast off with no smoke, so I'm going to let you handle this one for me. All right. Ladies and gentlemen, we would like to welcome to the podcast very, very good friend of mine. Bryce Isaiah, I don't know if he's such good friends of his.
[00:03:56] The one and only, one of the leaders of the new school, one of the leaders of the new era, one of the sharpest players to ever come out of the new era. real estate mogul, aces pop, football playing, billiards playing, started growing out his little yummy hair on top. I'm fresh. The one and only Q, Quintavious Bird that is in the building!
[00:04:27] You're here. Yeah, I'm here. And, Bryce, you get the smartest thing you could do. You got in a passenger seat, it's what you used to doing, and you let somebody else drop your intro. Listen, Q, I'm not about to argue. Okay, you know what? We're going to settle this debate real quick. Show your driver's license. Just show the back of it. Not the front, just show the back. Okay? Driver's license. We can't say that. That's a permit. You can see that? For whatever reason,
[00:04:58] Q don't think I know how to drive, but it doesn't matter because we're out here driving Survivor News. We're back. It's a new season. You know with the new season comes a new BWP tour. 48, we kicked it off last night in New York City, which was absolutely epic. We had a crowd of a million and one people. Good vibes, good energy. Wendeezy, what would you say about last night's event? Oh, man, it was how you should kick off a tour. You know, like,
[00:05:28] we back. It was, New York was lit. They were in there having a good time. It was great to see everybody. We had an international crowd, Bryce Isaiah. That's right. Yes, we did. A couple special guests from across the globe. Amanda from Survivor South Africa Season 2. Jack, you know Amanda. Hello. We had Kevin Jacobs from Big Brother Canada in the building.
[00:05:56] And we had a bunch of reality. And what was really dope, Bryce, it's a Survivor event. And I'll let you speak to this a little more. But our good friend Bryce has really been bridging the gap with other shows. And Amazing Race premieres next week. And man, there were so many Amazing Race folks in the building. It was great to see. Yeah, it was definitely dope. It almost felt like an Amazing Race premiere. We had three new castaways or contestants on Amazing Race Season 37 that airs next week.
[00:06:26] So make sure you tune in. But yeah, we had Squid Game, Survivor, Big Brother. It definitely was dope. And if you missed our New York premiere, no worries. We are headed to the West Coast next week. We'll be in Los Angeles March 5th. We'll be in San Francisco March 12th. Tickets are available. You can go to brysonwin.com and get your tickets and we'll see you at the next stop. Q, I heard you or I saw you were in Milwaukee. You were at Andrea.
[00:06:55] Andrea, I saw my guy Sam. I saw Ben. How was that? It was amazing. The crowd was awesome. Let me just tell you. Andrea, she knows how to put on an event. She knows how to entertain, bring everybody together in one place and just keep them there. And it was amazing, man. They had the taco truck. They had some burger spot outside serving it up. drinks on the inside. I don't drink, but I had enough water for me. I had enough tacos
[00:07:25] for me, so I was good. Now, let's talk about just the lineup that she brought. She brought the winner of 47, Rachel. That's right. She brought the most popular, in my opinion, Genevieve, who would have won if she didn't get voted out. And she brought Sam, the one vote receiver, at the end of their episode. But it was also popular. And she brought the winner of the vote receiver. Why you got to do it like that? Hey, man,
[00:07:55] we had a little rap battle last night. Y'all got to check that out. Me and Sam, I'm talking about Brooklyn style. I'm talking about Jimmy style on the streets, back and forth, bar for bar, jail for jail. Yeah. Who won? We had a rap battle. Who won the rap battle, Q? You know what? But then he had been, he was rocking out, playing that loud ass guitar. I had to go in the back for that. Then they brought the boy Q out. And I had the Q skirt on. We had folks in the building
[00:08:25] with the Q skirt on. I came out, throwing money out of my pocket. Ew, ew, making it rain. Yeah. You know what? Okay. I kept the Q skirt on that neck. You see what's happening? Doritos in this Q skirt. It's a movement. It's a movement. You know I keep it on me. The middle of it was amazing, man. We had an awesome time, awesome crowd. And then we did a panel. So I loved it. It looked dope. I want to say, it was like 945,
[00:08:55] 10 o'clock. I get a phone call. Q. Q says, I never pick up. I pick up. Mind you, Q's in mid conversation. So Q calls me and I got to wait for Q. I pick up. Q finds like, Bryce, what's up? Q says, coming to Chicago. Click. You know you could have texted that, right Q? Yeah. But you know how I get. When I'm on the phone in the car, I put it on speaker. Then it's something
[00:09:25] I have to tell you immediately. The first thing I'm going to do is FaceTime you first, then call you, then send you a nasty text like, I beg. You ain't answering the FaceTime nor the call. All right. Yeah, no, you ain't driving. So you need to be asking one too. I'm dead. Okay. Well, that was Q's event in Milwaukee. Jack, I heard you was at LA getting it popping and shaking. What was your event like in LA? Yeah, there was a couple cast members from the season that hosted
[00:09:55] a little watch party. I don't know if I'm supposed to specify, so I'm going to leave that out. But we had some other alumni, a few 46ers. I'm talking Tiff. I'm talking Jets. I'm talking Hunter. And I'm talking the man, the myth, the legend, Jalinski. Oh. You had all the stars from 46. Jack. Hey, let me just tell you, one thing 46 going to do, we going to show up. All right? We going to show up. We going to make an appearance now. I'm not sure if you had any
[00:10:24] 46ers in New York. I think you did. We did. Think about it. 46 was on the West Coast. They show up. 46 was in the East Coast. 46 was in the Midwest. You know how they do, man. We're the best. They may not always talk to each other, but they show up. Surprise! You was going to be there? Do y'all have people in Canada too? For sure. The one and only Venus. You know?
[00:10:54] Are y'all beefy? And look, and she ain't no fish either. She ain't on the menu. Okay. Hey Q, I got a question. What? What do I have on my head? Huh? You know what you got on your head. It don't come to him. Just tell him to sit there and wait. It'll come to you. He got the cute hat. And I got the cute cut. Oh. Crispy. On the top with a little frizz. That's what they call it around here. It look like a cute hat. The only thing you missing right now, man,
[00:11:24] in your whole fit is a cute skirt. You got the cute hat. You got the outwork. That's what we do. Put a cute skirt on underneath that thing, man. It's a cute skirt. What? Oh, I'll work, I'll play, I'll hustle. Uh-oh. What's that? Easy. What'd you know about the P? Oh, I respect it. I respect when you rock your own merch. Unlike Bryce. What the hell is hockey Fiji? Listen, you know, I like to support
[00:11:53] the cast. I think this is Eva's merch from this season. Okay. After this episode, the first episode, I'm for sure Eva's stan. I don't play hockey, but I can play some mean air hockey. Ooh, okay. Okay. Score. That was a good sound. Yeah, that's the, that's me scoring one to nothing. So I like, I like that you plugged Eva's shirt. Somebody will get me one of those, you know?
[00:12:23] I support the family. Uh, but listen, we're here for our episode. We plugged our shirt too. Yeah. You did. And I, and I said, I gotta get me one of those. Oh, okay. Okay. All right. Come on now. You gotta, you gotta keep up with it. You gotta keep up. All right. I just heard it. So slow, but listen, nobody, they're feeling education. You know how we spell eagles.
[00:12:53] Did you see our mayor spell eagles? E, G, L, E, S, eagles. He didn't, he didn't do a tie. The day. She. She. Oh my goodness. I, oh, okay. Yeah. Let me just say this. I didn't know that Philly Smear was a woman. So let me backtrack. She needs to retire today.
[00:13:25] We see. All right. I am deceased, but we got episode one of season 48. I love, before we turn it over to Jack to, to narrate us, everyone's thoughts on the first episode, the start to the new season. I'll go. I thought it was great. I thought we are in for a treat. I think we have a lot of amazing characters. I thought this was a great episode. I thought the ending was fantastic. I didn't know which way it was going to go, but I love the dynamics
[00:13:54] of the new cast. I love the unexpected link-ups. I like the fact that there was some foreshadowing of some true alliances. There's some foreshadowing of some maybe problematic or some, some places that might be in trouble, but I thought it was a really good start. What y'all think? I mean, I'll go next. I guess, I thought it was awesome. You know, I love it when you get off the boat, walk in the sand and you, boom, starting in the mud.
[00:14:24] But this challenge right here, in my opinion, was probably the best that I've seen yet when you're talking about getting off the boat, going through the mud, having to get every single member to the top before you can move forward. And then, we have an injury. Challenge number one, going under the nose, the shoulder popped out of place. When was the last time that happened? Stephanie? Yeah, long ago. It's just like, this group,
[00:14:53] they're going all out. They don't care about the consequences. They're here to play. And we saw that within that first 30 seconds of the episode when they got back to try to their camp, she wants to talk. We're going to talk about her in a minute. We're going to, I don't want to say everything just yet. But what do you think about the episode? We're going to talk and that's why we're going to Shopify changed. The platform, the before Shopify used to have
[00:15:22] has used to which have often made to have brought to the shop not working. Endlich makes our Nemo Boards shop also on mobile devices a good figure and the illustrations on the boards come now very, very clear what is important and what our brand also makes us make us starte dein Testen heute für 1 Euro pro Monat auf shopify.de slash radio I thought, I think it's a good episode. I think we see the connections or we see
[00:15:52] things starting to happen that I can't wait to see how they play out. I want to see the like Eva-Jo alliance. I want to see how that plays out because now it seems like it seems like he's tied to this person because she opened up with him. but we're playing a game for a million dollars. I don't know. I just want to see so I'm excited to just see how things shake out. But he did say, Wendell, that he's willing to lose the game to her. Yeah,
[00:16:22] that was a strong statement and that's when Joe took my heart in that moment. Yeah. Yeah, I was a big fan of the episode too. I thought it was a great start. I love the opening challenge. I love that they opened up with clips of everybody finding out they were on the cast. That was really fun. And I think there's a lot of good characters so far and I also think there's a lot of like rootable characters, people that I'm really excited to watch and to support. So yeah,
[00:16:51] and then to top it all off, the Tribal was a really exciting one too for a first episode. So no complaints at all. It's always good to get Survivor back too and get those goosebumps going when things open up. So it was a great start to the season. Do you remember in the beginning of Survivor, I think it might have been like maybe season one through six when they used to do it where you would be at work and the camera crew would come and it would be like you're leaving from work to go right on the island. I kind of got that feel a little
[00:17:21] bit from seeing their like live reactions of finding out that they were on the cast. So I like that editing and where they're going. It's like giving us behind the scene in this new era. Someone's dream coming true. And I think that immediately, even if it's a five second clip, immediately makes people more sympathetic. You know, like seeing Joe have like top it all off with his reaction about his family. Five seconds in, you don't even know him, but you're like, I'm
[00:17:51] rooting for Joe. You know, so I think it was really exciting and showed them, like you said, Bryce, that kind of slice of their life back home before they head out to the island. I feel like the editors are playing with us already in the sense of we saw everyone's clip. Like we saw Mitch, we saw star, you know, five seconds, but we see 32 minutes of Joe. And so it's like, don't play with me. Y'all are building me up.
[00:18:21] I already love this man. And like, I just, I get worried because I know that the editors back in the day, you know, we used to get a winner's edit, right? So from episode one, you could be like, I saw the winner. I didn't see one on season 36. It was hard to tell, but in other eras, you could just see a winner. So I get nervous because they like to play with our emotions. But listen, I'm going to start the petition that I'm a Joe stan right out the back. I mean, Joe is probably, this first episode was the first one that
[00:18:50] I've ever watched and I'm not an emotional guy. And I got, I was like, dang, this guy here, he's awesome. Like, he's everything that I would love to have on the island with me. Let me just tell you. So it's just one of those things where this was the first episode that got me kind of, okay, stuffed up a little bit to say, man, this cast here is going to be something else to watch unless they're going to do something cute-like and crazy next week.
[00:19:20] I'm cheering for anybody. I will say that my last thought is, and we can kind of get into it because my thought process develops as the episode goes on. However, I will say this. The one thing that I was a little disappointed in right out the bat because I feel like season 46 and 47, we've had characters like a Q. We've had characters like a Rome. And so I'm like, where's Z? Like, you know, where's
[00:19:50] L? Where's the new? And I don't think that I discovered that character or that character wasn't what I thought it was going to be. But by the end of the episode, I think I have discovered who I feel like could potentially be the new Q. Who is that? I don't want to say. That's fair. You have to say here in a minute.
[00:20:21] Yeah. Yeah, I think we'll definitely I'm on the same page as you, Bryce. We can get into that a little bit later. Yeah, we talked a little bit about that opening challenge and then we get into the journey. But apparently this is per Mike Bloom who was out on the island. Kevin, you know, they covered a little bit of his shoulder injury. Apparently he fully dislocated it and they had to pop it back into place. Pretty wild. What do you guys think about his decision to then volunteer for the journey?
[00:20:51] Because I feel like, you know, you already hurt your shoulder. You might not be 100%. He kind of explained it. It's like, I mean, I'm doubling down. It's double or nothing for me. Is that a good idea or should he have just steered clear, you know, not thinking about the results because he obviously ended up winning that challenge? I just think it's his way to say, look guys, I'm fine. I'm a fighter. I want to continue. I'm going to do everything that I can for this try. And with him coming back with the
[00:21:21] machete and everything, it solidifies. They know regardless of the guy's shoulders on the ground, he's going to show up at least and try. Yeah, Q, but what if he didn't come back with that? Well, we don't have to worry about that because he did. That made me nervous though, Q, because for me watching it, and I love Kevin, it made me feel like I hurt my shoulder. I need to go on this journey to
[00:21:50] get something to come, like, to protect myself. And so I was worried that if he had not come back with something that the tribe will automatically, like, the speculations will be mounting for him. So I was a little nervous, but I was glad that he went out there. And I loved the new challenge. In my own mind, I felt like it's the new version of Sweat vs. Savvy, right? Like, I like the adaptation to it. I do think, I do want to ask you, Q, if this was on season 46, would Jalinski have completed this?
[00:22:20] Or Jalinski? Jalinski wouldn't have been there. Q would have been there. What you mean? Oh, that's right. Okay. You said that one person to go do something like that, when you tell my face, oh, I would have volunteered to make sure that I went. But let's go back to season, I think it's 20, where James hurt his knee in the challenge. Think about those moments and what the track, they don't want to get rid of James, but they feel like, okay, you tried to run and you couldn't run, or we have to get rid of you.
[00:22:48] So with Kyle, maybe that's in the back of his mind, like, okay, if I don't do something now, I'm going home first, potentially. So I liked his move to say, you know what, put me in, let me show you guys, this shoulder's not bothering me. It popped out, but it ain't gonna stop me. It was definitely a risk, but it worked out for him, partly thanks to the fact that Kyle accidentally broke his container. But then, what do we think of Kyle's
[00:23:17] move to help Kevin out? I think my draft and my take on Kyle from first look is that Kyle is a stand-up good guy, and I like Kyle. However, I mean, let's also be real. If Kyle stays in the game, and we do a tribe swap, you know, he happens to somehow get back with Kevin, like, you Kevin gonna remember that. So, like, I thought that was like a really
[00:23:47] smart move, but also I felt like it was like a stand-up move, because I've been liable to just break Kevin's glass. I mean, well, if you look at it, it was more so of a thing, there was no coming back for him with that challenge. Like, he broke it, it was done for him. So, would you rather just sit there and watch the guy feel up the pot? Would you say, you know what, let me get back to camp as quickly as I can? Let me help, but also
[00:24:18] maybe build a relationship in the bun and get an ally out of the deal. So, my tribe don't think we was out here doing something else crazy, because this guy's going to take forever to fill it up. Is there a world where this move backfires on him? I think so, but I think I don't know exactly what he shared, but I was just thinking, I like the move. I wouldn't go tell my tribe that I started helping him, because obviously we know the scenario, he wasn't coming back, it was wraps for him,
[00:24:47] but I think just hearing like, oh, you helped someone on the other tribe would send up alarms and that's where it could backfire a little bit. Even it's like, not only are you helping their tribe, helping, like he was going to get it done regardless, but you're also, you know, making those inroads with other players that I haven't even had access to and that's a little bit dangerous, but I'm a Kyle fan. I love what he's done so far. Bryce, I do gotta say, you were talking about your draft, didn't you pick him as a third boot? And now you're gassing him up. I'm just saying,
[00:25:17] no, I said that he would likely go out early because he is so likable and this demonstrating how likable and a stand-up guy he is, like it speaks to his character. Now I will tell you one thing that was bothering the hell out of me about Kyle during this challenge. I wish he would have just wet his hand and just wiped his face a little bit. It was so distracting how muddy his face was. Yeah, they were
[00:25:46] muddy. Yeah. That challenge right there forced you to get really muddy because typically, you know, it's a little higher, your net is a little flexible. I mean, there seemed like it was tight. They had to put their face in it to get through. So just thinking about that and then saying it was a mess. But something Kyle did do that I like when he got back, it felt like folks wanted to bring him in and catch him up on what was going on and what was being
[00:26:16] said about him in particular. So I think maybe he had some allies who were going to protect him for a vote or two until something like what happened in the first challenge happens again. And they realize, oh man, this guy here, he's too nice, he's too likable. Let's go and get rid of him. I did love his intro when he got back to camp as he got off the boat. He's like, I'm Kyle, I'm 29, I'm from wherever and I do not get the surprise. It's just straight up. I also liked just a small thing about that challenge too.
[00:26:46] I love the idea of just get this pot or whatever down by any means necessary. It's up on the banjo. There's no rules, but going into that challenge, you might be thinking, oh, do I, it kind of shows it a little bit into the players headspace of like, do I have to like, is there some trick to this? Or you could just brute force take that thing down. And I think it shows those different perspectives that that was kind of fun and just sort of, it was cool to see what creative means to these players.
[00:27:15] adopt, you know? Yep. Can we talk about the coconut though? Like Kyle having the coconut and not realizing that like, you don't got to do nothing else. Just crack the coconut open. I love the nuances and the new things that Survivor is incorporating because I thought that that was great because I probably would be like a Kyle and I still have my coconut and not know that I need to crack it away. Yeah, that was great. they've been more creative in the
[00:27:45] last couple of seasons, even with like Rachel's journey puzzle last season. I feel like they've found some fresh life in these challenges and it's definitely been appreciated. And also the beware advantage that they had. That was crazy, man. He's in the dolphins and the frogs and the turtles. That was insane because anybody could have seen him if I, that's never here. What the hell is this? Yeah. When I heard, uh, when I heard the B,
[00:28:15] uh, the by any means necessary, uh, takedown of the, the pot, I was like, man, what if they applied that to the beware advantage and you could like crack it open or something like that? I want to see that. I want to see that, um, latitude in more things. I want to, I want to see people like, yo, figure it out. Can, can we talk about in this first challenge, the physical strengths of the tribe? I think that in our draft and in the first
[00:28:44] look, we were saying how the tribes kind of looked equally comparable, but it seemed that in this first episode, we got to see that maybe physical strength on some of the tribes, like they still kind of figuring it out. Cause I think it is a, was it the orange tribe? The orange is where Kyle is. So is it orange? I would say that purple tribe is probably the strongest tribe. And I think the green tribes look in maybe the weakest.
[00:29:16] I mean, orange and purple, they got David and Joe. They got some athletic women green. It's like, I'd say their most athletic guys, probably Kevin. And then he already messes up his shoulder. Is that kind of what you were thinking, Bryce? Yeah. Cause I was thinking how they didn't even complete the challenge. Like Dr. Cedric was having a hard time getting up the board. Like they just couldn't do it. And that was like a struggle to watch, but I don't think it was smart.
[00:29:47] Doc got those letters, wrote them in the sand. Immediately. Listen, I said, good gracious. That boy, man, I did not. So where he lacks and maybe physical, he's going to make up in one of these challenges here soon that ends in like a puzzle that where he has to put his thinking capsule. I like Cedric. What do we think about this green shot? Cause we talked about the beware advantage, which was obviously in the hands of say, and say came in
[00:30:17] hot, immediately grabbed all the guys, makes, makes the squad. Also doing some chatting with the girls. Say came to play. And as she says down the line, I'm not wasting time. I'm not wasting time looking at the stars. I'm here to like, I didn't want to say earlier, but say killed it and crushed it. I absolutely at first when I watched the episode, I kind of was like,
[00:30:47] Oh, what are you doing? You're like, but I, I have to be remiss that I feel like in past seasons, we've seen a say in the male version, right? And people rally around this person and they love it. And so I love that say is out there. This black woman is like, I ain't coming around like, yo, you, you, you, we together. What's up? Like, I like that take charge energy because if you don't take charge, then you're going to be
[00:31:17] following. However, I know enough of enough of enough that when you do take charge, you do become a target and you have to maintain that leadership in order to stay on top. And it's like, it's easier for people to kind of come for you, but I have to say, say, impress the hell out of me. It's that filly of her. It's her facial expressions. It's her being like speaking her mind. Like, I, I love to say this episode. She was the one that reminded me the most of
[00:31:46] a cue. Like, she wasn't playing. I gotta, I gotta, I gotta push back a little bit. Now, I love what say is bringing you. Right. Here. Really? Hold on. Hold on. I mean, okay, say great character wise bringing a lot to the table. Set a record for confessionals in one episode last night with 22. You gotta be doing something right. Right. But I
[00:32:16] just think coming in way too hot. Like, you know, like I said, immediately making all these alliances literally at tribal saying, I don't want to, I'm not here. Like, I like that mentality, but to be like, oh, y'all shouldn't be looking at the stars. Y'all should go to the water while we don't deal. It's like, well, now I know what type of player you are. And that's kind of a hard player to trust. I just think say he's going a little too hard. To me, it reminds me a lot of Rome, where Rome in last season found an idol early on, immediately makes these bonds
[00:32:46] without really, I think, feeling people out as much as he should have. And it works early on because especially in a tribe of six, when you go to travel early, like, people are going to be scared to rock the boat. So if you're the one who's guiding the boat, people might jump on board. But as soon as you're the captain sailing the ship, and then you get to emerge with two other tribes, I think there's a clear target on say's back, whether it's on this tribe or down the line. It's just this position she's put herself in is going to be impossible to maintain for an entire season, I think, in the new era.
[00:33:16] And that's why I'm a little bit worried for Seth. But I love that she's coming in hot, ready to battle, because it's either going to be incredible and she's going to win and it's like holy smokes, or I think most of the time she's going to go down in flames, but it's going to be good TV. So I'm not mad at it. I didn't think that I do. I want to push back a little bit more, right? Like I do. I agree with your take, right? Like I don't love to take charge of it, but I do love it. And I don't feel like she was a dictator though, right? I feel like
[00:33:45] throughout the episode we saw her holding counsel, convening, seeing what other people had to say. So like I feel like there's a world where yeah, she might just be getting the ball started, but I feel like she has Dr. Cedric, she has Belinsky. I feel like she was taking advice, listening to people. It wasn't like she was like, this is what we doing and we done. Yeah. I mean, I like the fact that she asked for help early on with her beware advantage. So that shows that
[00:34:15] when she is in need, she will listen to someone else. But at the same time, say it was she felt like she needed to do to get herself established on day one. Like she found to beware advantage on day one. She was not going to stop until she finished it. So I like that about her, but, you know, to your point, she has to know when to dial it back. And that was some of my mistakes early on. Dialing it back some. Dialing it
[00:34:45] back. But she did a great job. I feel like looping folks in to say, you know what? I trust you. I trust you. And this is my way of showing it. This is what I have. It's for us. Let's make something happen. I feel like there's a balance of, to me, she's actually a really good ally. Because she locks in right away. And you can tell she wants to ride with her squad. You know, honestly, she's pushing back on Stephanie a lot publicly. But to me, if that's my ally, then I know you guys are at odds.
[00:35:15] You're with me. That's cool. I'm worried. It's, like I said, very similar to Rome, where, especially with the idol in the pocket, I think, but I'm worried she gets to the merge, goes in with that same mentality where she pulls eight people to the water well and starts wheeling and dealing. Everyone's going to be like, whoa, let's go in now. And I honestly think, like, this first vote, I mean, it was kind of straightforward with, okay, everybody's on board with Stephanie.
[00:35:54] now that art person out. And they could lose again. Oh, for sure. Well, 100% can and probably will. They're the Yannou. No, no, no cap. They're the Yannou. They're going to probably lose a bunch. Although, in doing it, I think, if she can survive, you know, this next tribal, it gives her some experience and maybe now it puts her in a place to say, you know what? It could be me next, actually, now, because we're down to our
[00:36:23] strongest in this category, especially if they vote out another female on their tribe. Now she's going to have to look at it like, okay, with these four guys, these three guys that I came together to bond with, would they just band together and get rid of me next? Yeah. But having that idol in a tribal five early on, I feel like people are going to steer clear, and so that opens up a lot of avenues, per se. But, you know, looking last night, it did seem like she was pretty confident going into
[00:36:53] tribal, which I was nervous because I'm like, for me, first tribal, if I know it's me or Bryce, I'm just going to play my idol and make sure I'm good. But like you said, Q, I think maybe this alliance was a little bit stronger than the edit gave credit for, but I hope for say that she's not a little too overconfident because it's a long road ahead with that idol. And if you're worried about playing it perfect, there's going to be a lot of opportunities to not play it and mess up.
[00:37:22] So I just hope, you know. Can I give kudos to Belinsky and Kevin, right? Because throughout this side edit, I feel like we got to see glimpses of those two kind of teetering the line a little bit. Like, I don't know. But, and so I feel like I like the fact that they're forward thinking, even though sign my girl and I wanted to go far. I'm also just peeping them being like, if the boat
[00:37:52] starts to sink, it's time to jump. And I like the fact that they kind of are ready. And at one point in time, the way the edit was going, I thought they made already. So I like the fact that they are kind of like, sure, we in now, but wherever it goes. And Kevin with his alliances that he's got like, who did he lock in? Was it Mary? Yeah. And that's what I'm saying. If it's, hey, let's get rid of Mary next, and Kevin is like, absolutely not, can't do that, won't do
[00:38:22] that, and he can get, is it Belinsky? Yeah. If he can get him, say he's in trouble. Right. Bryce, I'm curious, Belinsky was your winner pick. How do you feel after seeing him this episode? I feel like it was a bit of a mixed bag for Belinsky. I feel like he, well, one, wasn't exactly what I expected from the photos, but he was still chill. Like, he linked up with Cy. Like, I felt like he's playing the position
[00:38:51] really well. I didn't see enough, but I felt like I saw enough that like, okay, he can go far and he knows what he's doing. So I wasn't mad at Belinsky real quick. He was very chill. He was also very unassuming. Like, I saw people joking online that he looked like he might have had like a weed pen out there. Hey, listen, I was just excited. But let's me look like he rides skateboards and smoke weed all day long. And his shirt just says pizza, you know, but he's chill. Like, um, yeah, it wasn't like a lot of
[00:39:22] Justin Belinsky content. Um, like it was like, I feel like his first confession, he's like, you know how back at the pizza shop we do it? Like, and I'm like, we don't know anything about you, but I didn't even know you worked at a pizza shop. But he's got that fire, though. You can see the fire, though. Like, and it's masked by that little chill stoner. So that could be that could be dangerous. Yeah, I'm curious. I'm sorry, but just not to bring it
[00:39:52] to another show. And I'm not caught up on traitors, but like, kind of like how you got Carolyn, a lot of people over there think that they're like, all right, she's just doing whatever over there. But no, she's a traitor and she's locked in. But over here you have this guy, Justin, who's like, all right, he looks like he's, you know, chilling, whatever. But not. He's thinking, man. He's thinking about it. He's making this move. He's choosing. And he could have chosen to say, you know what, let's go this way. But I think maybe he saw
[00:40:21] something in Say's game versus Stephanie that he feels like it's going to better him for now, at least until now it's like, okay, you truly in the middle, but do you want to rock with Kevin or do you want to rock with Say? Right. Yeah, I'm curious. I feel like we might as well touch on this now since we're here at the Green Tribe. You know, let's consider there to be three duos, right? There's Stephanie and Mary, there's Justin and Kevin,
[00:40:51] and then there's Say and Cedric. Justin and Kevin are the swing votes. Do we think they made the right move here? And what could have their other options been at Tribal Council? I think they made the right move, in my opinion, because say they went with a Stephanie, right? And if they go with a Stephanie, who then becomes the illuminating star? It's going to be Belinsky or Kevin.
[00:41:21] If they worked with them, right, like, I feel like it raises their threat level, right? However, keeping a Say, getting rid of a Stephanie, Say is still the front runner still the person with the eye like that you could get out at any time and people are looking at and you right where you need to be and you have the numbers. So I feel like they made a good decision from my perspective. Yeah, same here. Yeah. Yeah, my thinking on it,
[00:41:50] I was seeing a lot of different options, right? I felt like if you wanted to target Say, you'd probably want to split the vote on Say and Cedric because of the Idol. And then it seems like they have a decent relationship with Cedric. So then there's a chance Cedric goes home and it's like, maybe I'd rather Stephanie goes home than Cedric. I do think flushing the Idol or blindsiding Say with it would have been nice. You know, now with
[00:42:20] five people and one person has an Idol, it's a little bit scary. Like that Say Cedric duo, she could play it for herself, she could just play it for Cedric and then you're like, no, I don't really know. So what I do like going with Say, like you said, Bryce, I mean, for all the reasons you said, Bryce, plus I kind of like Kevin has this good relationship with Mary. A lot of times in a tribe of Sticks, when that first person goes, their duo becomes that free agent swing vote. And so now it's like Kevin could just pull in Mary and be like, look, I didn't really have a choice.
[00:42:50] Balinski was with them, but Balinski is going to work with us now and we can get out like a Say or Cedric, which I think did Mary also vote for Say? She voted for, yeah, she did vote for Say. She was the only vote because Stephanie played her shot in the dark. But yeah, I think there's a chance to pull in Mary here and I think that's a really good position for Balinski and Kevin because it's more likely that Mary is going to go with them, I think. And so the only complication out is that idol. But to me, there was so much, it would
[00:43:20] have been difficult to really like blindside say I understood them being like, let's just go with the chill move here and save that for another day and just kind of see what she's about. But in reality, though, it probably sets it up because the four of them all voted together. So Say in her mind, maybe thinking, okay, we're all going to vote for Mary and those other two switch and go with Mary. She's going to have a lot of ideas. That's very possible.
[00:43:50] And especially with Say seeming very confident, like they might think, are four is tight. And I guess if you try to pull a fast one and Say is worried, she'd probably just idle and still vote for Mary. And then, you know, you get to four and it's a two-two split and then you figure it out. But yeah, I think Kevin and Belinsky are on a good spot. And for me, just watching the episode and watching how Say moves, I don't think she's thinking like, oh, they're going
[00:44:20] to get me. I'm thinking she's more so thinking I'm in control. I'm calling the shots. I want Mary gone. They're telling me yes. They're telling me everything they told me last week and they voted with me. And she won't see the switch. only thing I'm going to say, I agree with that, but my girl from Philly, Philly, we a little different. We got street smarts. We deal with a lot of things growing up in the city of Philadelphia. So I think my girls say it's going to have a little more
[00:44:50] wherewithal if something were to come up. That's a Philly thing. Real quick, can we shout out Mary real quick? I feel like people go on this show and making fire is a big deal. We see people with their videos making fire. Q couldn't make fire if we were in hell. And Mary Hold on, whoa, whoa, Q didn't have no flint. I could make fire. Okay. When's the last time you used your fireplace out in your backyard?
[00:45:21] Due to the fact that it's getting warm in Mississippi? Not, not, it's been a while. Okay. I mean, it was just when's the last time you backed out of your drive work? Today. Wendell. Uber app. You're right. You got out of Wendell's vehicle. Uber app. Taxi. Taxi. Melissa. Yeah. But shout out to Mary though, because for her to get fired and
[00:45:51] then casually go up in your confessional and be like, it's the first time I made fire? Like, what? The way she was like Mary, I think Mary's going to be funny, good. She's going to bring some good TV if she can make it past this ball. And something just tells me either they're going to flip on say, because Mary is very, very like, it seems
[00:46:20] fun to be around out there, especially for somebody like, like, I mean, Kevin, right? Especially for him. So to want to get rid of that energy, I don't know. Yeah. She's funny. She's got some funny preseason tweets. Yes. A couple things I wanted to bring up from, sorry, go ahead, Bryce. No, I was going to say, can we switch tribes real quick? Because I want to give you some credit, Jack. Yeah, I actually wanted to bounce. I mean, since we
[00:46:50] talked about tribal, I just wanted to touch on a couple things and then we can cover the other tribes real quick. Something I thought was interesting. Now, the way it was edited, it looked close. And so Stephanie playing the shot in the dark, she probably knew she was in more danger than we realized. Was that a smart move, Jack? I was going to say, I think it is because in that situation, you know you either have four votes or you have two. In either way, if you have four votes, you play the shot in the dark, you still have
[00:47:20] it. I've said this in the past, if you're worried and you know your vote is not pivotal, might as well just play the shot in the dark. Why not? Now, you always got to remind me each season, Jack, is this the most ideal time? Is this where playing your shot in the dark is the most maximized? When is it the most maximized numbers-wise? Is it this or when you're down one more person? I mean, it's always one in six, so I would say it's less about the
[00:47:50] number of people and more about how likely is it that you are catching votes. If I'm one of two targets, there could be 30 people or there could be six people and I'm still one of two. But I guess what I will say is the fewer the people there are, your vote is going to matter more theoretically. So if it's 30 and it's me versus 29 people, I definitely got to play it. My vote's not going to matter.
[00:48:19] But if it's six, you're voting. But to me, like I said, it's four versus two one way or the other. Might as well make it three versus two or four versus one because it doesn't matter. So you might as well just play it. I bet obviously it seemed like she knew she was in danger so I don't know if that was her thought process. Maybe she was like, I'm screwed, I got to play it. But the other thing I wanted to bring up was just the conversation, the argument between Say and Stephanie about like, are you here to look at the stars or are you here to go talk the water well?
[00:48:50] As y'all played, what's that balance like? I thought it was a weird argument to have, but what did you think about that? I mean, I think you gotta have a little bit of both. Just a little bit. I agree. But I agree because I feel like you need to get to know people. But see, I don't know, because it didn't really work out that well for me. But I'm saying, right, like, you gotta hit the iron hot. You gotta hit while it's hot and it's
[00:49:20] like, hey, you with me? What's up? Let's go. Because oftentimes I feel like, from my experience, when you're on Survivor and you're hey, what's your son's name is A's? Cool. You went to Morehouse? Cool. I find the more talk you have like that with people, it really lets you know they not working with you. So, I thought you were going to say, no, no, well, for my experience, because listen, I'm day and night.
[00:49:57] But day one, to me, look, I haven't been out there, but I feel like day one, let me get to know you and really feel your vibe and see if we're actually simpatico. And then maybe we're one-on-one talking, we really get along, I'll be like, hey, Bryce, I'd love to work with you, like, let's figure something out. But to be like, yo, you know, y'all build a shelter, I'm going to the water well with three people, let's lock it in, I'm like, I don't even know your name. Like, we got to look at the last Larry Law.
[00:50:27] To her defense, with 26 days, I mean, it moves quick. You don't have two days in between before you want to travel tomorrow. But I'm with you, Q, I think it's a balance, right? Because you don't want to be doing the where are you from for four days? Because you might go to travel, but I'm like, let me have a little one-on-one catch a vibe with everybody. I feel good about this person. I want to know that we're compatible as people before I would commit to an alliance. And that can happen within an hour, right? You have the right conversation,
[00:50:57] but I just got to feel someone out. And I think that's why Stephanie was on one extreme end and say it was on the other. And I feel like that argument about watching the stars sort of epitomize that difference. But I think in reality, the right place to be is right in the middle. Sort if Sago is home next week, then we do understand and know that there has to be a battle. Doesn't it make you appreciate Kyle a lot better coming
[00:51:26] back from losing the thing? Like, boom! Hey, my name's Kyle. I'm a Sagittarius. I went to a boar house. I didn't win, right? Like, I kind of like how Kyle kind of, he didn't waste no time, but like, let me introduce you. But to that thing with the stars and say, right? I tend to, I agree with y'all, right? Like, you need to warm me up a little bit, take me on a date. But in this new era, you don't know the pace of other people's game. So it's like, you could be behind.
[00:51:56] So I definitely think you need to be forward. right. And I think to sort of sum up, right, if I'm going out there, I think maybe to me, and you correct me if I'm wrong, the lesson here would be, for me, it's more about those one-on-one bonds right away. Like, I could have a good conversation with someone an hour in and be like, yo, I'm going to look out for you. Let's figure something out. Right? And then you do that with a couple of people, be like, how do you feel, Bryce? How do you feel about Q? Wendell? How do you feel about Bryce? Oh, everybody likes each other?
[00:52:26] Alliance. Boom. But I just think it needs a little more finesse than just being like, oh, you, you, you, and you. Let's get it going. Like, you know what I mean? What if that one person that she's coming to saying, hey, one, two, three, want to talk to you as a fourth and it's a tribe of six. You can't be like, uh, if I'm like a Kevin, that's the one getting approached. I'm saying yes, but I'm going to keep my options up. Yeah, for sure.
[00:52:56] Which I think he's done. I think he's got the right balance right now, right? Like, he made that connection with Mary. He got himself in this alliance. He's the one with the options right now. So, um, also, real quick before we leave this tribe, I love seeing the connection of a Mary and a Kevin and on the same tribe, we have a connection with a Cedric and a Cy. I don't think we've ever seen anything like that before and I love it and I just love
[00:53:26] it. But can we go to another tribe real quick, Jack? Because I just want to give you a praises because I do love to argue with you and I do love to pick apart everything that you do and say. However, I, I'm on the mother Thomas train. Okay? Yeah! The train. I, Thomas's energy was not what I expected from his photos. photos. However, I liked
[00:53:55] Thomas's quirkiness. I liked the fact that he was like open about like, okay, I don't know if I'm going to fit in here, but put himself out there. I feel like he linked up with my girl in my head, Bianca Rose. Love that connection. Then we got the California girlies alliance. Like, I, I just love the fact that Thomas, he's finding his way. He doesn't quite fit in, but he's like making those roles and he's funny. He's queer. Like, I just,
[00:54:25] I, I, I'm on the Thomas, call me Thomas the train. I'm on it. I love that. I, I knew, I thought he was going to be good and I was really blown away. Like, some hilarious just one-liner so funny playing a great strategic game, just like self-deprecating but vulnerable but funny but strategic like it's so many layers very excited he's my winner pick. I'm glad he's bringing in Bianca and I feel like he's trying to bring her in in a way that's
[00:54:55] subtle with the California girls. And I just love this purple tribe. I love this purple tribe. Everyone might not lose. Right? They might not lose. They're stacked. Even like the person on the outs right now is Star which I'm sad to see because I love Star's energy but at the same time I'm like, well, I don't want to lose Joe and Eva. I don't want to lose Thomas, Bianca, and Shaheen. There's so many. I hope they don't lose because I don't want to lose any of them. So I love this tribe. Yeah, it's a great I want to
[00:55:25] see this tribe 24 7. It's a great group. Yeah. Eva, Joe, can we talk about that a little bit? Because that was so emotional, so raw, so real. And just first, we stand Eva, right? Eva is such a hard worker. Eva tells Joe that she is autistic and that sometimes her perception of things is different and she's worried and she's coming to Joe to say,
[00:55:55] hey, I don't want to tell everybody because if I tell everybody, they can use it against me and want to vote me out, but I just need my one person to hold me down. And Joe said, hold you down? I got you. I'm going to be your number one. I'm going to protect you. And it's like, it's the weirdest thing ever because I was, Wendell, we were talking about this in the car where it's like, it's almost as if Joe is so locked in that he's willing to give up his million dollars because of this connection. And that's so
[00:56:24] deep and that's like, and that's what people don't understand about Survivor, I think, from a former player is that you're out there for a million dollars, but the people that you meet out there are real people. It is a real connection and you can't just turn off your human side. I agree. Is she the first Survivor player with autism? She says she was. That's like openly, yeah, yeah,
[00:56:54] I think so. Wow, yeah. And game wise, I was thinking like, all right, with a story like this, do you save something like this for your final jury speech? Are you telling too much to someone? But in this case, regarding Joe specifically, like, first of all, we saw Joe in the opening how when he got the news, he broke down and that got everyone's emotions, right? So you
[00:57:23] already know that this firefighter with a family, just like a leader of a family, emotional dude, right? And then you see this younger woman come to him and say, hey, look, sharing this aspect of her life that she might, she shouldn't share with everyone, of course, on the island because for whatever reason, she's sharing it with him because she trusts him. And now we're like, all right, he's locked in with her and he's going to protect her. And you say he had daughters, right? Yeah.
[00:57:54] That means a whole lot more to him than I'm telling you anything. He ain't letting nobody or nothing manipulate that. No. It was a great show for her. But Joe, it's like, man, now your game is kind of contingent on her. You're going to protect her at any cost, right? What are you doing in a moment like that? Like, you know, someone, like, it's, yeah. What do you do? Or, what do you do if everyone's like, all right,
[00:58:24] we got to vote her out? You got to step up. You got to, but, and I loved how Eva, like, described it, how, like, you know, she's different. But in my mind, I'm like, Eva, that's your superpower, girl. Like, and as quiet as it's kept, everybody out there on that island is a little different, right? And so, I love that, but I just, also that scene where Eva, in the beginning, where Eva was like, I wasn't sure, like, if I was spitting in, and they said,
[00:58:53] we need bamboo. And Eva went and got the, I was like, yes, Eva. That, that just reminded me of myself in so many other situations. So it's like, I just love seeing that. And I love Eva. And I hope she goes far. But it will be interesting to see how things unfold with her relationship with Joe. And she said, like, she will eventually tell people, but it's not the first thing that she wants to tell people, right? Like, you know, I want people to get to know me, see me for me.
[00:59:23] So I really respected that. And I thought that I'm looking forward to watching this. I mean, a good thing for her, like I say, she's on a tribe that might not lose ever. So now she gets to a murder situation and there's bigger personalities, bigger fish to fry. She can fly through a couple of boats. Here we go. Yeah, I think she came in with the perfect, the perfect mentality here, right? Like, she knows it's going to be a double-edged sword, some positives and some negatives.
[00:59:53] She doesn't want to tell anybody. I think that's smart, but to lock in with one person, I don't think there's a better person in the whole game than Joe to lock in with he's going to look out for you. He's going to help you when you're struggling. And then also, you know, I feel like sharing something like that kind of transcends the game. And so, if someone comes to you with that information, it's going to lock you in. And not that she's using it to make an ally, but I think that in doing so, it locks her in with Joe as we can see and helps her out.
[01:00:23] And it's going to, I think it's just a win out for her on so many levels because it's going to, I think she took the right approach. It's going to help her personally. It's going to help her game working with Joe. And so, yeah, I think she's in a great, and I love, you know, she talked about how she hyper fixates. Like you said, Bryce, if there's one thing to hyper fix it on, it's go get a ton of bamboo. Like people are going to love that. You know, she's using that superpower in a way that's going to help her. And I just hope she continues to do that. And if she does,
[01:00:53] it's going to set her apart, you know, above the rest. But it shows how much awareness she has. Like she's aware, she's thinking days ahead because she knows herself so well that she knows she's going to need somebody to help her. And go out and reach out on day one and say, hey, listen, this is what's going to happen. This is who I am as a person. I need your help. It just shows, man, she's locked in. Yeah, she's planning.
[01:01:23] And I think one of the moments that I knew I loved her and I think was after she established with Joe, and I think it might have been, I don't know who, Joe was talking with someone else and they were essentially gaming. And Eva came up and they stopped talking and was like, what's up? What's going on? Like, Eva was like, oh, y'all want some coconut? Like, I loved how, I loved that moment because it was so innocent, but it also made me feel like, I feel like, again, this is Eva's superpower, right?
[01:01:52] I think that this is going to propel her, right? Like, I think that this, in that moment where it's like, they're coming, they're talking and she's just like, I'm just offering y'all coconuts. What's up? Like, I think people are going to trust her. People are going, it's going to, I think what she perceives or what she believes is going to make her different, I think it's really going to pull more people in. It's going to make her more trustworthy. And I think she's going to go really far in this game. I have questions. First of all,
[01:02:22] do you see her opening up and sharing this with other people before the end of the game? Before the end of the game, yeah. I think so. For sure. Do you see that helping or hurting her game? Hurting. For sure. I don't think people want her to go, like, once she starts opening up and sharing it, like, bro, I remember, what was the season with Noelle when people were like, yo, we need to get her out. You know? Like, these, yeah, like,
[01:02:52] I'm scared for her if she shares more than with this person she has so much trust in, first of all. And that's why I'm so interested to see how this relationship with her and Joe develops, because she may come to Joe and say, like, hey, I'm thinking about telling Q about this. And Joe actually might be like, maybe you shouldn't, right? Like, so I'm curious to see that now that she has this outside perspective in the game, I'm thinking
[01:03:21] how that might play out. Is there a world that we can think of right now that Joe flips the script and spill the beans? I don't think Joe's that type. Is there a world we think that might could happen? I don't think it does happen. Maybe to Mike, Joe. Yeah, I think maybe, yeah, that's the only way, if even, if they are trying to vote her
[01:03:51] out, right? What were you saying? That's maybe to say, hey, maybe if Joe finds someone that is like, how she found Joe a real connection, if Joe finds someone and that person is talking to him, hey, we think this, maybe if he shares this information gently to protect her, maybe there's a world with Joe. But I don't see him sharing it with any malice. Right, right. Yeah. I don't see him flipping on her either. Yeah.
[01:04:21] He don't seem like a flipper at all. Yeah, no. Unless he's the biggest villain they've ever cast and we really don't know who he is after that first episode. Yeah. that's sort of the, yeah, that's the balance with her is I am worried about if she shares with everybody, everyone has that knowledge in mind. Like she admits that she can't really tell when people are lying to her, right? And so you tell everybody that in the game with Survivor, they might not even do it maliciously, but people are going to be lying to you. And if you know
[01:04:51] that people know might be worried about that. But at the same time, I worry there could be a point where people might not know and maybe they're like, well, Eve is not really socially doing this or that. And then for her to be like, well, here's the
[01:05:20] reason why that might help get people back on side with her because obviously if she's doing anything that's rubbing anyone the wrong way, it's not intentional. But then that opens up a whole can of worms. So I am worried. I hope she can keep this with Joe for as long as possible, basically. Yeah. A dang on tribe swap. Well, I almost think a tribe swap could because I imagine what if she got with Mitch, right? Like, and I could see her in a Mitch
[01:05:50] linking up and maybe sharing something and that could bond them together. Because also Mitch, if we could switch to that tribe, that tribe's hilarious. I love Mitch. I think Mitch has the right type of energy. I want Mitch to, in my preseason, I want Mitch to cause chaos out there. And from what we've gotten in this first episode, I feel like Mitch could be stirring the pot. that. But I think one
[01:06:20] of my favorite characters over there is, who's the big guy? David? Yeah. David's personality is hilarious. hilarious. And I think that we are just in for such a treat. Like, I feel like when he filled out his application, he didn't lie about nothing. When David said he liked compliments, he likes, it was giving, like, do y'all see me? So, I really like that tribe.
[01:06:50] I like Chrissy. I think Chrissy, I had Chrissy pretty high as my winner pick, and I feel like she is delivering what I thought that she would deliver. But she might be in trouble now. Says who? I think Charity's probably in the most trouble. Charity, Charity, okay, okay, okay. Chrissy's the older woman. Yeah, yeah, yeah, you got it, you got it. Charity might be in trouble. Agree, agree. I really like what we're seeing from, which the Charity thing is surprising, because even looking at
[01:07:19] like fan polls preseason, she was a very common like favorite to win or favorite to go far, but to that point, I love what Camila's doing. I wasn't the highest in the season. We were a little bit worried about her. But yeah, she's stirring the pot. She's running the bus over, reversing it, running it over again. And she's making those good connections with like a Kyle. You know,
[01:07:49] it seems like they just have so much in common. It's crazy that they have to kind of stick together. But she did that. She got the groundwork going and then now she's using that to start scheming and plotting a little bit. So I think Camila definitely had a great episode, this episode. Camila was my other second. Is that our cue of the season? Because she had the energy.
[01:08:19] And I love the connection she made with Kyle, but I also love the fact that, again, Kyle seems he just comes off so genuine. And seeing the connections that he's making and how people are willing to protect him, for me, just goes to show he's very genuine and, again, reminds me of Caleb a little bit. Kind of the same, a little different. Caleb is just likable. You're just drawn to Caleb, but I also think with Kyle, you're drawn to him and just his genuine,
[01:08:49] his own like, he just seems like a good guy. And I think that's what differentiates him from Caleb. Caleb's not a good guy? No, I think Caleb came off as like, I'm super likable to everyone, almost as if it's almost a little fake. He was still being strategic. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. And so, when you say it like that though, like, if Kyle could get
[01:09:18] it in shift like that, I could see a way for Kyle. I'm just hope that he performs, he starts performing a little better. I'm not too worried about Kyle. I'm not, I'm not like the glass breaking, that was just kind of an anomaly. That first challenge, that opening challenge was really tough. I mean, that purple tried to stack, but for like the other teams, like getting up that wall and you're all
[01:09:48] muddy and just like slippery. That looked really difficult. So, I think Kyle will be good to go. He's athletic, but he also looks really sharp. So, I think in these tribe challenges, he's going to be great with the agility, but also maybe helpful when it comes to the more cerebral elements of the challenge. So, I'm super high on Kyle. Yeah. I don't think you need to be too standout-ish or too great at any challenges this early anyway. So, I mean, yeah. Yeah.
[01:10:18] It's tough. The charity thing is so interesting to me because I felt like this tribe had so many characters going in and that charity was going to be like a solid presence, an asset in the challenges. And to me, what she said to Camilla wasn't even that crazy. like she just kind of threw out a little teaser about Kyle, obviously not knowing that Kyle and Camilla had become close, but do we think there was other stuff going on behind the scenes with charity? Like, why is she finding herself in such hot water so early on?
[01:10:48] I think this is the dilemma of a lot of new games is that you don't throw a name out. Like, you let the name come to you because you never know how connected someone is. And I also feel like I'm not mad at charity because it's like, well, let me just test the waters and see if I could just throw the name out so it's not my name. And then you have now Camilla is connected to Kyle. We see they're like related, their origin is connected that we haven't seen that on
[01:11:17] Survivor before. And so it's like, now Camilla could be feeling the same way in the sense of like, I don't want it to be me and I don't want you to target one of my people so now I gotta go. Like, so it's that sense of I feel like it's looking at the stars or like side go all in, right? Because I feel like charity in this case is not looking at the stars but making talk. I don't know. I just feel
[01:11:47] like, right. And Camilla is at the water well. She's at the well. She's driving. Yeah. Something that you ain't doing. Any standout players, anyone else that we didn't talk about that feel like worth mentioning? I just think episode
[01:12:17] one was more of that one that's like emotional, grab the attention. I think next week is when we'll start to see like, okay, this person can really go and stand out and make moves. I just think it's so early right now to even because I mean, you got to think when you don't lose, you're not shown as much. So we saw a lot of green, not enough of the other two in my opinion. losing,
[01:12:47] although it is bad, however, it builds your tribal council stamina up and for me, makes you potentially a better choice to be a winner because you know what it's like to be in that heat. And so even though the purple pride might look so fat, if they never go to a tribal for a long time, is exactly what I thought. I love his
[01:13:16] energy, love his personality. He's just another person that I feel like radiates on the screen and I'm excited to see how he connects. And again, I love the LA girlies. I think that alliance is amazing and I want to see how that is going to transcend because I almost want to say I feel like the winner of this season could be a member of the California girlies. Okay. Yeah,
[01:13:46] I'm excited. I think it was a great start to this season. Yeah, I am. I'm worried for this green tribe though. I think they could be going to a lot of tribes. He's giving me Yano too. I'm telling you. Yeah. Well, we will have to tune in next week to see what episode two is given. I can't thank y'all enough for tuning in. Quinn, Quinn, Quintavious is always a pleasure to have you coming back
[01:14:16] this season. We'll definitely see you in Chicago. Jack Nashville, first though, right? Nashville, yes. See, man, Nashville first. The Chicago thing, you know, I'm still working it out. Okay. We're about to put you on a flyer, Q. Don't put me on a, give me a week. You know, I got the baby boy at home. I got to make sure she's cool with me leaving two times back to back, you know,
[01:14:46] I'm excited though, too. I mean, we got Los Angeles coming up next week. You know, I'm going to be there and we got to talk about that San Francisco too. And then I got my eyes on Austin too. And then who knows what the New York City finale like there's a lot of ones that might be popping out too. baby boys next week. So very, very excited. Super excited. Before we leave, though, I do window and Q. We were together in New York City for the premiere with Jeff Propes. And it was so fun to
[01:15:15] see everybody in Jeff. But I think one of the most powerful moments for me was seeing Ace and Q and Winnie and Wendell together. I thought that was super dope, super fun. BFF's in the making, okay? Me and Wendell gonna make sure them boys grow up doing something together. I thought it was really cool, man. I thought it was really special. I didn't know how special it would be until I started looking at those photos. I'm like, man, like,
[01:15:45] they are gonna be friends. They're gonna be like cousins, man. So yeah, that was great for Winnie to meet Ace, man. So I do have a question. If the phone rings, Blood Versus Water season 71, y'all up for the call. Ace and Q, Winnie and Wendell. Hey, anything for Ace. You know, they call and it's about Ace wanting to go and he just needs daddy to show up. I'm there. But also, you know, maybe I just throw Emily in
[01:16:15] the mix and say, hey, you and Ace are gonna do it. Because Emily, she's a man, she's a survivor fan. So I will throw Emily in the mix. Is Q scared of the Wendeezy smoke? No, I'm not. But you know, you gotta spread the love. But at that time, the window gonna be 99 years long. I like those BWP hats.
[01:16:46] I like that. I need one of those. Well, all right. Well, listen, this has been your Survivor News for season 48, episode one. We'll see you next week. Thanks for listening. Peace.
